The Campbell s Hero Cycle
Campbell s Hero cycle has seventeen different steps. To inspect top to bottom the legend cycle ten
stages will be connected to ten particular quotes identifying moments in The Ramayana. Likewise, the
strides are recorded according to the pattern in which they show up in The Ramayana which is not
necessarily the request that they are recorded in Campbell s Hero Cycle. Meeting with the Goddess:
Brahma, the inventor of the universe, can not disavow a shelter he gave the evil presence lord Ravana,
as a prize for his serious repentances, that he ought not be slaughtered by divine beings, devils or
spirits. Having been then remunerated, Ravana started with the help of his abhorrent aides, the
Rakshasas, attacking the area and do roughness to the great, particularly the Brahmin ministers,
aggravating their penances. Every one of the divine beings, viewing this destruction, went to Brahma
to figure out how to convey themselves and the earth of this fiendishness. Brama was the Vishnu
conveying the misery of the divine beings and asked for that Vishnu incarnate on earth as a human to
wreck Ravana, as Ravana had not requested security against people or monsters in his wishes to
Brahma. In the mean time, the great King Dasaratha of Ayodhya, which recovers his kingdom of
Kosala for quite a while, was beginning to get restless about his successor on the grounds that he had
no child to succeed to the throne. On the exhortation of his pastors and ministers, Dasharatha sorted

Tesco Plc And Public Limited Company
Business Organisations Task 1: TESCO Plc (public limited company) is a British multinational
grocery and general merchandise retailer. It is the third largest retailer in the world measured by its
profit, and its second measured by its revenue. TESCO Plc is owned by shareholders who fund the
company. The general public can buy shares in the company and then become shareholders; this
method allows TESCO to gain funds. The reason I would choose to locate TESCO in the new business
park is because TESCO is the grocery market leader in the UK, it has a market share of 28.4%.
TESCO have competitive prices and many people shop at TESCO, this means it will grow the local
economy. TESCO rely on their employees to provide a service to their customers. TESCO have
500,000 (2015) and I believe that having a TESCO in this business park will create more jobs. TESCO
s core purpose is to be the champion for customers, helping them to enjoy a better quality of life and
an easier way of living . I would also locate a National Health Service (NHS) Hospital at this business
park. The NHS is primarily funded through taxation with a much smaller funding provided through.
They provide a comprehensive range of health services; the vast majority are free for people legally
resident in the UK. The NHS is in the public sector and is a not for profit organisation. It was founded
in 1948. The aim of this business is to provide a service to the community. The NHS have 1.4 Million

Characteristics Of Automated Fingerprint
Furthermore, when a latent print has been found it is but into the Automated Fingerprint Identification
System to see if there are any matches. If there is a match to the that person now becomes a suspect.
They are then questioned, however, there does need to be more evidence to prove that the suspect is
the unsub. Now, footwear evidence takes into account class characteristics (manufacturing process,
physical size, design, and the mold) and identifying characteristic (accidental, such as objects
becoming attached to the sole such as rocks, twigs, thumb tacks, cuts, scratches, and holes). The
examiner then tries to identify similar class characteristics between the footwear imprint and the shoe
that is believed to be a match. If there ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The photographs should also show where the toolmark was located, how the object on which it was
found was arranged, and how big it was. Once everything has been photographed a cast can be made
of or the area on which on toolmark was found can be removed. When making a cast there needs to be
a mixture to get the fine details of the markings so it can be analyzed for a microscopic comparison.
When the tool and tool mark are being compared the examiner will look for unique characteristics that
they both contain or a serial number is located to see if it was imprinted onto a surface (WILEnet).
Firearm evidence consists of the discharged bullets, shot pellets, shotshell, shotshell components
(case, shot, slug, wad, powder charge, brass head, and primer.), and cartridge cases. According to the
Wisconsin Department of Justice when the firearm is sent into the lab the analyst looks at the
mechanical operability, including possible damage or alteration, trigger pull and physical features. The
firearm is then fired to see if it matches the bullets and cartridge cases. Another thing that is examined
are the bullets to see if the markings match the ones that were test fired as each firearm produces it s
own unique marking when fired. At the scene when the firearm has been shot it can pass through
walls, furniture, windows, vehicles, doors, etc. this allows the analysts to to determine the diameter of

In This Is What It Means To Say Phoenix, Arizona By...
Sherman Alexie says that being funny breaks down the barriers between people. In his short stories,
This is what it means to say Phoenix, Arizona and The Lone Ranger and Tonto and Fistfight in Heaven
, Alexie has different characters who tells jokes. Many of the jokes are funny but can lead to many

Indians, so they would have to watch what they say and do to not offend anyone near.

Thomas introduced himself by saying, I m half magician on my mother s side and half clown on my

also, so they continue to have a conversation. Even though Victor is embarrassed at Thomas s attempts
to continue to talk with her, they realize that Cathy is friendly and they all enjoy talking to each other.
Another example is Thomas says Sounds like you all got a lot in common with Indians (Alexie, This
Is what 286 ). This joke made the situation awkward because nobody thought was funny. That shows
that not everything is a joke and could get the people around him offended or mad. When the plane
lands, Victor felt the need to say sorry and get the feeling out of his chest so he apologizes for beating
up Thomas. Soon later they arrive at Victor s father s trailer. Victor s father s body was not found for a

The First Grade Classroom, Nothing Is Not Of The Ordinary
Diagnosed Personality Looking upon the second grade classroom, nothing is not of the ordinary. The
teacher is guiding a lesson, the students are generously giving their attention, and for the most part,
seem to retain the information well. However, there is a latent pressure held within the mind of one
little boy. You can hear the repeated tap, tap, tapping of his pencil lead quickly meeting the surface of
his spiral notebook. He s meticulously spelling out T R I S T A N will billions of tiny dots. Tristan
Bernhard finds this as a temporary remedy to soothe his unquenchable urge to play pretend basketball

These were factors that made Tristan unique, creative, and fascinating. Tristan s parents wanted to
avoid having this label placed on any document in fear that it would impact his future likelihood of
joining the military or being accepted in an occupation. Therefore, they declined the option to receive
medication and instead wanted to address the ADHD as a part of Tristan s personality. The couple felt
it was important to begin teaching Tristan how to fit into the world that didn t accept his nature. They
began to teach him acceptable and unacceptable behaviors in the classroom. He was told that it was all
right to be uninterested in the teacher s content, but he could not run around the room because that
would be considered a distraction to the other students. In this sense, Tristan did not interpret ADHD
as disability, but rather a natural trait he had. In order to fit his teachers behavioral expectations, he
designed his own coping strategies. This included tap drawings, breaking pencils under his desk, or
daydreaming. He found that methods such as these either kept his mind occupied or took him out of
the dull world he was living in and placed him in his ideal. Although this prevented him from straying
from the school s guidelines, Tristan expressed that he had difficulty learning and absorbing
instruction in classes. Despite this hardship, he felt this was the best alternative so that his peers could

How Dow Chemical Could Benefit From The Acquisition Of Dupont

decide to buy shares in another company while other times a company may decide to acquire the

DuPont. It will also cover the various accounting methods used.

DuPont has 6 major segments which include Agriculture, Electronic Communication, Industrial
Biosciences, Nutrition and Health and Performance Material and Safety. 54% of DuPont s agriculture
sales are outside the United States. DuPont is one of Dow s major competitors worldwide and is the
second largest chemical company in the United States [E I du Pont, 2015] and [Investor Relations,
2015]. DuPont has been facing several challenges over the past year. A recent Wall Street Journal
article outlines the challenges DuPont is dealing with as a decline in sales and disagreements amongst
shareholders. DuPont is blaming much of their troubles on the increase value of the U.S. dollar and
foreign currency translations. Shareholders believe that now is the time to streamline their processes
and spin off DuPont into 4 different companies [DuPont Forecast, 2015]. Financial Statements
retrieved from Market Watch support the articles claim that DuPont sales are declining. DuPont has
seen their sales growth decline to a negative 2.87% and their cost of goods sold growth decline to a
negative 16.65% [DuPont Financial, 2015].
Dow s Strategic Plan Dow Chemical is known best for acquiring other companies. In October, 2014
Dow formed a joint venture with Univation Technologies, LLC by purchasing ExxonMobil s shares of
this company. Exxon Mobile is also a major competitor of Dow. Acquisitions have allowed Dow
Chemical to diversify their product line and

Exercise Is A Good And Normal Way For Lose Weight
Did you know, the percent of adults who are obese in the United States is 34.9% now, and it was
continually getting larger in the recent years (CDC)? What a surprise that more than 1 out of 3 adults
are obese in our country. Obesity can cause various health problems, such as high blood pressure,
diabetes, coronary heart disease, or even directly cause death. So, it is time to control and prevent
obesity. Exercise is a good and normal way to lose weight, but Melinda Moyer discusses about
another way, reducing the amount of carbs in people s daily lives. She leads readers to explore the
relation between carbs rich diet and obesity or chronic disease. Even though some other theories like
low fat diet were supported in the history, more facts and evidence prove that low carbs diet is the best
way to solve the problem. Moyer uses pathos, ethos and logos to persuade her audience to against
carbs, and choose low carb diet in her article Against The Grains. Pathos is the strategy that is used in
some sections of the article to appeal to audience s emotions. Moyer promptly attracts readers
attention by starting the article with her own experience of weight loss. She says she lost 15 pounds
because of the wheat free diet (Moyer 2). It may let readers (especially who are obese, and looking for
an efficient way to lose their weight) excited about this fact, and curious about how and why wheat
free diet helps with weight loss. Then, the readers will go through the following content

Linear Macromolecules
Deoxyribonucleic acid, or DNA, like proteins, is a linear macromolecule found in all living cells. In
contrast to proteins, however, it is build up of only 4 different types of building blocks, called
nucleotides. Nucleotides are composed of a base, being either a purine or pyrimidine group, and a 2
deoxyribosyl tri phosphate. The four types of bases composing the sequence of DNA are purines and
pyramidines. The sugar is a 2 deoxy ribose which is phosphorylated at its 5 hydroxyl group. Free
nucleotides contain either one, two or three phosphates representing the mono , di , or triphosphate
form of the nucleotide, the latter being known as dATP, dGTP, dTTP, and dCTP. Single DNA strands
are not stable, but associate with a second strand to

completely innocent. Everyone admitted something bad that they had done. Every witness I have
mentioned admitted they were apart of the communist party. They all were in contact with spies. This
leaves me questioning how would an average person have contact with a spy? The two that were
accused, spoke. Although Julius admitted to being a communist once, his wife, Ethel, said she never
was. Julius had been fired due to the fact that he used to be communist. To be clear, he had already left
the communist party. Later on, he addmitted he admires the USSR. He denied ever having ties on a

therefore making him seem like he was not innocent. If there would have been less people speaking

Examples Of Powerlessness In The Poem Hide And Seek
Power and powerlessness take many forms. Explore this idea, referring to three poems in detail and to
at least three other poems from your wider reading.
In the poem Hide and Seek, the poet explores the power of the child s arrogance, as he believes he is
clever and therefore powerful. For instance, when he says the people searching for him must think he
is very clever , as well as describing them as puzzled . The word clever demonstrates his self
confidence in his intelligence and he thinks he is one step ahead of them, which leads him to believe
he has obtained power over them. However, this is thus contradicted later on, as he is then left alone,
deserted, as an outcast. This is shown by the rhetorical question the poet poses at the ... Show more

It is shown by the mother s lack of ability to help her child, as he is described as her tenderness for a
son that she will soon have to forget . This foreshadows the inevitability of his death and shows the
difficulty of the position his mother is in, having to helplessly watch her own son perish. This also
further foreshadowed later on in the poem. Such as when the poet describes the mother s actions
towards her child: he says she is combing the hair left on his skull . The word skull is used as a
representation of death and mortality, it displays the rapidity of his hair loss and emphasises the
dangers of his starvation and protein deficiency. However the word combing is used to show the
mother s unconditional love for her child and how she will always care for him and never give up
hope, this fabricates an element of power in the poem, and demonstrates the powerful effect of a
mother s love towards her child. The mother s undying love and care for her child is also exhibited
when the poet describes her as bathing her child, and rubbing him down with her bare palms . The end
of the poem contradicts this moment of hope by ending on an extremely solemn tone, with the use of
the simile she did it like putting flowers on a tiny grave . The poet describes her repetition of normal
everyday actions as to make it seem like nothing is wrong and there is still an element of hope, he is
showing that she still cherishes every moment she is able to spend loving him. The word tiny is used
to emphasise the unfairness and the atrocity of the situation, that someone so young and innocent
should be expecting

Body Genre In Linda Williams s Film Bodies
A body genre is one that literally attempts to provoke affect, or a physical response as opposed to an
intellectual one, from the viewer. The repetitive formulas and spectacles of film genres are often
defined by their differences from the classical realist style of narrative cinema. In Linda Williams s,
Film Bodies: Gender, Genre, and Excess, she describes how cow these classical films have been
characterized as efficient action centered, goal oriented linear narratives driven by the desire or a
single protagonist, involving one or two lines of action, and leading to definitive closure (Williams, 3).
Williams talks about three gross genres that she and her son choose from when going to see a movie.
She says, we often select from

Conflict Of Self In John Calvin, The Accusative Case
John Calvin s Conflict of Self
John Calvin, the Accusative Case as he was called by friends, was known for being a stern and
humorless theologian and in truth he was, but there was more to him than just that. Throughout his
career, he was staunch in the belief of predetermination above all other thought. Unlike Luther, Calvin
had not begun life with the mindset of being a preacher, but he arguably had just as much, if not more
of an impact as a reformer. More humanist than previous reformers, but not truly that either, Calvin
existed in a state of conflict. Calvin was educated as a French Humanist with a less than humanist
view of predestination that culminated in an influential, but unfulfilled life.
Calvin had a different beginning to that of most reformists, which lent him a unique perspective.
According to Calvin his father had destined me for the study of theology. But afterwards, when he
considered that the legal profession commonly raised those who followed it to wealth , but in truth he
could not initially join the church due to the very same father embezzling money. Whether this
original desire left Calvin with a sense of unfulfilled destiny is uncertain, ... Show more content on

Persuasive Essay On Pitbull
This past Tuesday I had the pleasure of listening to Rachael Currier as she tried to persuade her
audience to not be afraid of the Pitbull Terrier and the stereotypes that have been placed on its
forehead. Rachael s initial setup was relaxed and calm, as if she was around a Pitbull Terrier that she
knew. She began her speech in a manner that was with utmost respect to the animal and its power.
Rachael took control of the class as she continued to grab the audience with her extraordinary
reasoning for why Pitbull Terriers are aggressive, but not by nature. Rachael Currier was persuading
her audience to not only be comfortable around the protective dog, but to also consider it as our next
dog of choice. She told her audience that the dig was only vicious because of the way it had been bred

The research of the dog was definitely there, but I don t think it was presented in the most efficient

but had no sources. They were logical arguments, but were not in the correct order or flow. She had a

Social and Political Themes in the Movie Milk Essay
Extra Credit Assignment MILK 1. What are the main themes, politically and socially, that are
portrayed in the film? Milk is a biographical film based on the triumphs and struggles of Harvey Milk.
He was a gay rights activist and the first openly gay elected official in California. Socially, the film
addresses the discrimination homosexuals faced on a daily basis. (T)he normal majority , as labeled by
Anita Bryant, inflicted prejudice upon the homosexual minority. The Castro , the name of a street in an
area often inhabited by homosexual bars and such places, portrays the clan like social groupings. The

scenes from the film and discuss what is important about them. I was very bothered by the comments
Anita Bryant made during a televised speech that was shown in the film. She was an orange juice sales
woman who was working to repeal laws that protect homosexual human rights; specifically in
employment and housing. She described homosexuality as tearing down the foundation of the family
unit and compared gays to prostitutes and thieves. She tried to convince the public that the traditional
family was being threatened and that practicing or accepting homosexuality was blasphemy. Although
the scenes of Harvey Milk recording his voice were split up throughout the film, I felt it to be the most
powerful. Not only does he address the substantial probability of being assassinated, he does so calmly
and courageously. He stated that, a gay activist is the target for someone who is insecure . As he did
throughout his encounters with all kinds of people, he also stated that he often broke the tension when
giving a speech to mostly straight men by telling a joke. Milk accomplished a lot for the gay rights
movement, one that is still fighting today, and he did so with integrity, hard work, and sporadic humor.

Reliability of Polygraph Testing Essay
A popular way on many crime dramas to determine if a suspect is lying or telling the truth is by
hooking them up to a polygraph machine. In a matter of a minute the police are able to determine if
the suspect is lying and guilty or, on the rare occasion, telling the truth and innocent. But, one has to
wonder, is it really that simple? Polygraphs measure four main factors that are thought to change when
a lie is told and more importantly, it is assumed that these changes indicate deception. The four main

Another noteworthy contribution was Vittorio Benumbs. Around World War One (WWI) he
experimented with a device that measured the rate and depth of breathing and based on these
experiments he concluded that this device could be used to gauge deception (The History and Basic
Facts of Polygraph, 2009). The United States government put these ideas of deception testing to work
during WWI when they measured the blood pressure of prisoners of war during questioning. The first
real big development towards the modern polygraph detector was in 1921 when Dr. John A. Larson
invented an instrument that made the first permanent record of blood pressure, pulse, and respiration
(The History and Basic Facts of Polygraph, 2009). Despite all the contributions from various people,
the father of the polygraph is considered to be Leonard Keeler. Keeler created his own polygraph
which included a device called the galvanic skin response which measures changes in skin s resistance
to electricity, and therefore prespiration (The History and Basic Facts of Polygraph, 2009). He is
regarded as the father of the polygraph because his polygraph combined the three main components
that make up all modern polygraphs: the pneumograph (records respiration changes), cardiograph, and
the galvanic skin response.

Irish, so to speak, therefore, while the Peelites saw public works as essential to their relief policy, like
the liberals after them they feared that any government action would discourage Irish initiative. As
public works expanded, British distrust of the Irish led to an obsessive fear of abuse. Britons believed
that the Irish peasants were always seeking to get something for nothing. A mythos of English
sacrifice and Irish incorrigibility emerged throughout Britain, permeating the mindset of the public
and government leaders. In 1847, J.A. Roebuck, M.P. for Bath irritably stated, was it to be said, when
Providence visited the land with a fatal disease in vegetables, that the 8,000,000 Irish should come

Fortinbras Laertes And Hamlet Comparison
In William Shakespeare s tragedy Hamlet , Fortinbras, Laertes, and Hamlet find themselves in very
similar situations. They all had love and respect for their father s and felt the need to avenge their
unjustified deaths. However, there are differences between them. The character of Fortinbras was the
only one to accomplish his goal and become king of Denmark in the end. Shakespeare s comment
through Fortinbras as a man of action, allowed the audience to see that he acts rather than thinks.
Hamlet is portrayed as weak and indecisive. When he is confronted with meeting the ghost of his
father and asked to avenge his death, he quickly agrees to the revenge and comes up with a plan to
fool everyone into thinking he is crazy. However, he is seen as a man who does not act, with his
inability to make decisions or quick actions does not help his plan of revenge.
GHOST
Revenge his foul and most unnatural murder.
HAMLET
Murder?
GHOST
Murder most foul, as in the best it is,
But this most foul, strange, and unnatural.
HAMLET
Haste me to know t, that I, with wings as swift
As meditation or the thoughts of love,
May sweep to my revenge. (1.5.25 31)
The reader wonders if Hamlet had known who the killer was before, he would have still agreed to help
so quickly. After he vows to his father to avenge him, Hamlet becomes obsessed with the thought of
avenging his father s death and making everyone believe he is crazy, rather than act on what he first
set out to do. We see as he

Essay about Spiritual Warfare, Doctrines and...
Silencing the enemy is a very fitting title for this book. It is fitting because the author, Robert Gay,
explains how God suppresses the devices of the adversary through the praise and worship of His
people. Although the term spiritual warfare is not found in scripture, Paul expounds on the concept
throughout the New Testament. He encourages the saints to Put on the whole armor of God that ye
may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil . This scripture informs us that we are in a battle, a
battle that has been raging since the beginning of time. It is not a battle that one can see with the naked
eye. Nor is it a battle that is fought with natural weapons. It is a battle that is fought in the spirit world.

The Bible informs us that as they sung and praised God the Moabite armies became disoriented and
began to fight one another. Perhaps this is why we schedule the choirs and praise teams to minister
before the preached Word. Singing spiritual hymns to God will soften the hearts and prepare our
minds for what God has to say to us. Once our hearts are plowed or softened we can receive with joy
the assignments or correction God will give to us.
The author helps us to understand exactly who our enemy is and who our enemy is not. Our enemy is
not flesh and blood but, principalities, and spiritual wickedness in high places . People are often used
by demonic spirits to act in adverse ways. We must never target people as our foes. The enemy would
love to have us overlook him and turn on one another. Our brothers and sisters are not who we should
fight. It is the spirit behind them using them to distract us into doing something we will later regret.
Our God is loving, kind and merciful, but there is another side to His personality, the side that defends
and fights for His people. Paul declares we must know the goodness and severity of God. To
understand the full character of God we must read the entire Bible. God is a lover of His creation and
He is a warrior who fights for those whom He loves. The author makes an excellent point that since
we are made in His image we must take on every aspect of the character

Why I Hate Being Complacent Essay
I hate being complacent. I try to fight complacency in all aspects of my life from academics to my
sport of ultimate. Academically, complacency is the difference between putting in the time and effort
to study for a test and shrugging it off with a simple it ll be fine. Playing ultimate complacency looks
like not doing another set of dead lifts or accepting a poor decision as acceptable just because it
happened to result in a goal because it ll work itself out. One of my main goals for this school year is
to rid my life of these complacencies. And, honoring this commitment, I have been doing my work
more thoroughly and not just at the last minute and have been pushing myself to become faster and
smarter as an ultimate player. But even with this resolution to be better I am still complacent in those
aspects of my life and will continue to be imperfect as long as I continue to be human. But, as I have
learned throughout my time at Carleton, more specifically this term (and even more specifically the
second half of this term) I am complacent in the way I view justice in this country. There are powerful
forces that shape our criminal justice system that I have always vaguely known existed and have
always vaguely understood that they are inherently and systematically racist. And even hearing the
facts and numbers, my favorite things, on how racist our country is I chose to be indifferent. I knew
that one in three black men will be incarcerated during their life time while

African American Stigmas
Introduction
African American young men are infected with HIV at an alarmingly high rate in comparison to other
races. The negative stigmas that is attached to having HIV in the black community, especially for men
can be extremely detrimental and harmful to their overall health. One stigma that was attached to
having HIV was death, death was at one time believed to be imminent, and now HIV is about
restructuring their lives to face the future (Buseh, Kelber, Stevens Park, 2008, p.409), yet they still
battle other stigmas surrounded around HIV.
HIV/ AIDS affect African Americans at a higher rate than any other race (White, Asian, and Hispanic).
With African Americans making up approximately 13 percent of the U.S. population, in 2014, they
made up almost half of all new HIV/AIDS cases; 44 percent. African American men accounted for 73
percent of new HIV/AIDS cases, and of that 43 percent of African American men were heterosexual
(CDC 2014). Since heterosexual African American men don t equate to the larger population of HIV
cases as compared to African American men who have sex with men, these heterosexual men are
virtually invisible in the theoretical and empirical psychological HIV/AIDS literature (Bowleg, 2004,
p.166).

Galvan et al., (2008) for African Americans having a support from friends and family is a way to
decrease their perception of HIV related stigma, with this support they don t feel isolated, judged, or
internalizing these stigmas. Organizations that target heterosexual HIV men as a group, would also
help move away from the idea that HIV is a gay or drug abuser

Talk To Her
Question 1
Talk to Her is a Spanish film written in 2002 and directed by Pedro Almodovar. The plot revolves
around two men with an unlikely friendship and in deep care for two other women suffering from
comas. The themes adopted by the writer are mainly persistence of love, the difficulty of
communication as well as loneliness and intimacy. Like any other drama, the film reveals a unique
style and concepts of artistry. In particular, the film highlights the ideas of postmodern narratives
commonly adopted by many contemporary playwrights. While postmodernism in art is used as a
departure from the typical modernism to explicit distrust of theories and ideologies, this film exhibits
a wider sphere. Apart from the themes used in the play, the humor and unrelenting ... Show more

In truth, his character is a complete perversion of the virtue that he exemplifies throughout the film.
Apart from being too good, Benigno violates Alicia s integrity when he rapes the lady in his quest to
realize a merger between them after an extended period of admiration. In my opinion, Benigno is
psychologically troubled individual throughout the movie. In fact, for the majority of the film, he is
undeniably the most sympathetic figure since he appears saintly against the backdrop of all his
failures. Perhaps, the playwright does not intend to have the audience capture an immediate
impression of the character but use him as the center of comic. Despite the violence and immoral
attitude, Benigno s integrity, as well as authenticity, remains mostly questionable.
Question 3
I concur that Benigno s character is not only ironic but is also central to creating meaning out of the
movie, Talk to Her. Moreover, his admiration and a weak sense of relationship boundaries are to
blame for the heinous act he did on Alicia hence his

The Death Of Marat By Jacques-Louis David
The Death of Marat by Jacques Louis David is a well known painting constructed during the French
Revolution. The main character of the painting was called Jean Paul Marat. Marat was a lawyer during
this time period. In his time alive he was able to defend many French people that weren t able to
defend themselves even if he suffered while doing it. Initially, Marat was killed by Charlotte Corday.
Corday was a young royalist who believed that she was destined to liberate France. One of the main
reasons that Corday killed Marat was because of the anti royalist politics that he represented also
known as lower class people. As a lawyer Marat was able to help his patients and attending his terrible
skin disease at the same time. Furthermore, what Marat did for the French people was extraordinary.
He would defend the French people who couldn t defend themselves. This was very hard to find

was assassinated the people felt like they could no longer have someone that would fight for them ...

David captures the political circumstances in France through the depiction of this historical event by
showing that the pen will always be mightier than the sword. No matter how bad the community is
getting beaten up with the sword, the words that are left behind are what will make the difference in
history even bigger for future generations. In other words David was telling the people that it was now
time to fight back. To conclude, David s The Death of Marat has a lot of symbolism in it. It shows
how if it wouldn t have been for Marat the peasants of France would have nobody to defend them,
how Marat would put his clients first before himself, and how the pen will always be mightier that a

This cell uses bacteria like Shewanella oneidensis and Rhodoferax ferrireducens and many labs are
attempting to find better strains of bacteria more suited to the process (3). This fuel cells work in two
parts. Basically, the microbial fuel cell has two halves, aerobic and anaerobic. Aerobic means with
presence of oxygen, anaerobic means a lack of oxygen. When bacteria consume their food in aerobic
conditions they produce carbon dioxide and water, however when it s in an anaerobic condition they
produce carbon dioxide, electrons and protons. The MFC has the bacteria put in the anaerobic
chamber of the cell and decompose water material that contain glucose and/or acetate. The bacteria
also free hydrogen ions and electrons. The electrons flow from an anode into the cathode. The
hydrogen ions however just pass through the barrier; soon the electrons and hydrogen ions are in the
aerobic chamber and combine with the oxygen forming h2o. The H2O is released and electrical
energy is produced from the transfer off the energy between the Anode and Cathode (or Anaerobic and
Aerobic chambers).
Microbial Fuel Cells have a large variety of benefits due to its versatility and choice of fuel.
Firstly it can use most biodegradable organic matter including human and animal waste, sewage, etc.

Effective Crime Management
Management of Crime 12
The Management of Crime can only be Effective
When the Wider Police Family is Utilized
Introduction
Crime is a complicated study that police forces have engaged in more in recent decades to determine
the best methods for managing its occurrence. Methods of management run the gamut from old
fashioned relational policing in which the officer gets to know a certain group of people intimately by
walking a prescribed route through neighborhoods, to the much more modern idea of containing crime
by using different technological and scientific methods. The main issue with the different modes of
crime management is that they are all effective to a certain degree, but it is difficult to determine to
what extent. There have been studies conducted to see what is the most effective means of minimizing
crime, but the general finding is that it is largely dependent on time and location. No one method has
been gauged to be completely successful, so it is difficult to know which one to use. A premise, one
that is given away by the title to this paper, is that only by using the wider police family can crime be
effectively managed. This does not mean that crime has to be contained using a family hierarchical
model, but that every member and department of a police force must be utilized correctly. This may
also seem to be a shotgun approach to policing, but it is far from it. A scientific method is employed to
make sure that every officer is used in the

Resistance Literature And Resistance In Literature
The social object identified as human, does not have existence or significance without language,
which represents a means of interaction and understanding amongst individuals. The more
complicated human affairs and sensations are, the more transcend the linguistic form used to express
them. Literature is the epitome of language; as it is the language in its most enhanced form to express
the concerns and concepts of man in the most premium styles. Hence, literature is a tool to express
oppression and resistance, as humanitarian issues. Regardless the unreasonable factors that lead to the
presence of oppression among the human race members, oppression occurrence is intensely bracketed

Comparing Man s Search For Meaning And Logotherapy
An Introspective Look at Frankl s Man s Search for Meaning and Logotherapy There is an old adage
that implies that into every life, a little rain must fall, which suggests that some amount of suffering,
be it miniscule or great, is an unavoidable part of every human being s existence. Undoubtedly, there
are circumstances in one s life that are beyond his or her control. Circumstances that will cause one to
question his or her very existence and pose the question Why me? Viktor Frankl experienced such an
event when he was imprisoned in several Jewish concentration camps during the Holocaust. Frankl s
novel, Man s Search for Meaning (2006), gives an account of Frankl s time spent in Jewish
concentration camps. During this harrowing experience, Frankl used the daily occurrences that
surrounded him to observe and analyze the impact that such suffering has on man. During his time in

responsibility: therefore, it must leave him the option for what, to what, or to whom he understands
himself to be responsible (p. 109). If one is aware of the responsibility that he or she has to something
or someone other than self, it contributes to the clarity in defining his or her meaning of life. Although
responsibility can give clarity on the meaning of life, Frankl asserts that, ultimately, the meaning of
life is found by doing a service or good deed, by loving another, and by one s attitude toward
unavoidable suffering. These aforementioned tenets are essential to one finding one s meaning and to
Logotherapy.

History of Chinese Students Studying Abroad or in the U.S.
Introduction: history of Chinese students studying abroad in U.S. The history of Chinese students
studying in American universities dates back to the mid 1850s, when the first student, Yung Wing,
graduated from Yale University in 1854 (Bartlett and Fischer Para. 8). After that. Qin Dynasty starts
sending Chinese students to learned new sciences and technologies and we called Westernization
Movement . The educational missions to the US were organized in the 1870s to train specialists who
would create better engines and iron hulls for Chinese ships (Bartlett and Fischer Para. 8). The 1870s
mission involved about 120 students, who were sponsored to study at the United States top
universities. Since the 1870s, the number of Chinese students in American colleges has grown
exponentially to become the largest population of foreign students in the US (Institute of International
Education [IIE] 7). After the Qing court s resistance to reform and by China s weakness, Sun Yat Sen
led a revolutionary military uprising. During the regime changing time, people really didn t know
what democracy is. Therefore, more and more students chose to study abroad to learn about the
western political system. Chinese students travel to the US to pursue a degree in Western colleges,
which they consider to be among the best learning institutions in the world. Figure 1 Number of

  • 2. The Campbell s Hero Cycle Campbell s Hero cycle has seventeen different steps. To inspect top to bottom the legend cycle ten stages will be connected to ten particular quotes identifying moments in The Ramayana. Likewise, the strides are recorded according to the pattern in which they show up in The Ramayana which is not necessarily the request that they are recorded in Campbell s Hero Cycle. Meeting with the Goddess: Brahma, the inventor of the universe, can not disavow a shelter he gave the evil presence lord Ravana, as a prize for his serious repentances, that he ought not be slaughtered by divine beings, devils or spirits. Having been then remunerated, Ravana started with the help of his abhorrent aides, the Rakshasas, attacking the area and do roughness to the great, particularly the Brahmin ministers, aggravating their penances. Every one of the divine beings, viewing this destruction, went to Brahma to figure out how to convey themselves and the earth of this fiendishness. Brama was the Vishnu conveying the misery of the divine beings and asked for that Vishnu incarnate on earth as a human to wreck Ravana, as Ravana had not requested security against people or monsters in his wishes to Brahma. In the mean time, the great King Dasaratha of Ayodhya, which recovers his kingdom of Kosala for quite a while, was beginning to get restless about his successor on the grounds that he had no child to succeed to the throne. On the exhortation of his pastors and ministers, Dasharatha sorted out a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Tesco Plc And Public Limited Company Business Organisations Task 1: TESCO Plc (public limited company) is a British multinational grocery and general merchandise retailer. It is the third largest retailer in the world measured by its profit, and its second measured by its revenue. TESCO Plc is owned by shareholders who fund the company. The general public can buy shares in the company and then become shareholders; this method allows TESCO to gain funds. The reason I would choose to locate TESCO in the new business park is because TESCO is the grocery market leader in the UK, it has a market share of 28.4%. TESCO have competitive prices and many people shop at TESCO, this means it will grow the local economy. TESCO rely on their employees to provide a service to their customers. TESCO have 500,000 (2015) and I believe that having a TESCO in this business park will create more jobs. TESCO s core purpose is to be the champion for customers, helping them to enjoy a better quality of life and an easier way of living . I would also locate a National Health Service (NHS) Hospital at this business park. The NHS is primarily funded through taxation with a much smaller funding provided through. They provide a comprehensive range of health services; the vast majority are free for people legally resident in the UK. The NHS is in the public sector and is a not for profit organisation. It was founded in 1948. The aim of this business is to provide a service to the community. The NHS have 1.4 Million employees and I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

If there is a match to the that person now becomes a suspect. They are then questioned, however, there does need to be more evidence to prove that the suspect is the unsub. Now, footwear evidence takes into account class characteristics (manufacturing process, physical size, design, and the mold) and identifying characteristic (accidental, such as objects becoming attached to the sole such as rocks, twigs, thumb tacks, cuts, scratches, and holes). The examiner then tries to identify similar class characteristics between the footwear imprint and the shoe that is believed to be a match. If there ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The photographs should also show where the toolmark was located, how the object on which it was found was arranged, and how big it was. Once everything has been photographed a cast can be made of or the area on which on toolmark was found can be removed. When making a cast there needs to be a mixture to get the fine details of the markings so it can be analyzed for a microscopic comparison. When the tool and tool mark are being compared the examiner will look for unique characteristics that they both contain or a serial number is located to see if it was imprinted onto a surface (WILEnet). Firearm evidence consists of the discharged bullets, shot pellets, shotshell, shotshell components (case, shot, slug, wad, powder charge, brass head, and primer.), and cartridge cases. According to the Wisconsin Department of Justice when the firearm is sent into the lab the analyst looks at the mechanical operability, including possible damage or alteration, trigger pull and physical features. The firearm is then fired to see if it matches the bullets and cartridge cases. Another thing that is examined are the bullets to see if the markings match the ones that were test fired as each firearm produces it s own unique marking when fired. At the scene when the firearm has been shot it can pass through walls, furniture, windows, vehicles, doors, etc. this allows the analysts to to determine the diameter of the bullet, ... In his short stories, This is what it means to say Phoenix, Arizona and The Lone Ranger and Tonto and Fistfight in Heaven , Alexie has different characters who tells jokes. Many of the jokes are funny but can lead to many problems is said at an inappropriate time and place. The two characters are already an outsider as Indians, so they would have to watch what they say and do to not offend anyone near. Thomas introduced himself by saying, I m half magician on my mother s side and half clown on my father s (Alexie, This Is What 286). Many people laughed at that joke and Cathy thought it was funny also, so they continue to have a conversation. Even though Victor is embarrassed at Thomas s attempts to continue to talk with her, they realize that Cathy is friendly and they all enjoy talking to each other. Another example is Thomas says Sounds like you all got a lot in common with Indians (Alexie, This Is what 286 ). This joke made the situation awkward because nobody thought was funny. That shows that not everything is a joke and could get the people around him offended or mad. When the plane lands, Victor felt the need to say sorry and get the feeling out of his chest so he apologizes for beating up Thomas. Soon later they arrive at Victor s father s trailer. Victor s father s body was not found for a week, so the trailer smelled really bad and it is really hard for Thomas and Victor to go in to sort through the man s things. While they are looking and going through the trailer they both are telling stories about how they helped one another and how they will have each other s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The First Grade Classroom, Nothing Is Not Of The Ordinary Diagnosed Personality Looking upon the second grade classroom, nothing is not of the ordinary. The teacher is guiding a lesson, the students are generously giving their attention, and for the most part, seem to retain the information well. However, there is a latent pressure held within the mind of one little boy. You can hear the repeated tap, tap, tapping of his pencil lead quickly meeting the surface of his spiral notebook. He s meticulously spelling out T R I S T A N will billions of tiny dots. Tristan Bernhard finds this as a temporary remedy to soothe his unquenchable urge to play pretend basketball through the large aisles of desks in the room. These were factors that made Tristan unique, creative, and fascinating. Tristan s parents wanted to avoid having this label placed on any document in fear that it would impact his future likelihood of joining the military or being accepted in an occupation. Therefore, they declined the option to receive medication and instead wanted to address the ADHD as a part of Tristan s personality. The couple felt it was important to begin teaching Tristan how to fit into the world that didn t accept his nature. They began to teach him acceptable and unacceptable behaviors in the classroom. He was told that it was all right to be uninterested in the teacher s content, but he could not run around the room because that would be considered a distraction to the other students. In this sense, Tristan did not interpret ADHD as disability, but rather a natural trait he had. In order to fit his teachers behavioral expectations, he designed his own coping strategies. This included tap drawings, breaking pencils under his desk, or daydreaming. He found that methods such as these either kept his mind occupied or took him out of the dull world he was living in and placed him in his ideal. Although this prevented him from straying from the school s guidelines, Tristan expressed that he had difficulty learning and absorbing instruction in classes. Despite this hardship, he felt this was the best alternative so that his peers could ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Exercise Is A Good And Normal Way For Lose Weight Did you know, the percent of adults who are obese in the United States is 34.9% now, and it was continually getting larger in the recent years (CDC)? Obesity can cause various health problems, such as high blood pressure, diabetes, coronary heart disease, or even directly cause death. So, it is time to control and prevent obesity. She leads readers to explore the relation between carbs rich diet and obesity or chronic disease. Even though some other theories like low fat diet were supported in the history, more facts and evidence prove that low carbs diet is the best way to solve the problem. Moyer uses pathos, ethos and logos to persuade her audience to against carbs, and choose low carb diet in her article Against The Grains. Pathos is the strategy that is used in some sections of the article to appeal to audience s emotions. Moyer promptly attracts readers attention by starting the article with her own experience of weight loss. She says she lost 15 pounds because of the wheat free diet (Moyer 2). It may let readers (especially who are obese, and looking for an efficient way to lose their weight) excited about this fact, and curious about how and why wheat free diet helps with weight loss. • 13. Examples Of Powerlessness In The Poem Hide And Seek Power and powerlessness take many forms. Explore this idea, referring to three poems in detail and to at least three other poems from your wider reading. In the poem Hide and Seek, the poet explores the power of the child s arrogance, as he believes he is clever and therefore powerful. For instance, when he says the people searching for him must think he is very clever , as well as describing them as puzzled . The word clever demonstrates his self confidence in his intelligence and he thinks he is one step ahead of them, which leads him to believe he has obtained power over them. However, this is thus contradicted later on, as he is then left alone, deserted, as an outcast. This is shown by the rhetorical question the poet poses at the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is shown by the mother s lack of ability to help her child, as he is described as her tenderness for a son that she will soon have to forget . This foreshadows the inevitability of his death and shows the difficulty of the position his mother is in, having to helplessly watch her own son perish. This also further foreshadowed later on in the poem. Such as when the poet describes the mother s actions towards her child: he says she is combing the hair left on his skull . The word skull is used as a representation of death and mortality, it displays the rapidity of his hair loss and emphasises the dangers of his starvation and protein deficiency. However the word combing is used to show the mother s unconditional love for her child and how she will always care for him and never give up hope, this fabricates an element of power in the poem, and demonstrates the powerful effect of a mother s love towards her child. The mother s undying love and care for her child is also exhibited when the poet describes her as bathing her child, and rubbing him down with her bare palms . The end of the poem contradicts this moment of hope by ending on an extremely solemn tone, with the use of the simile she did it like putting flowers on a tiny grave . The poet describes her repetition of normal everyday actions as to make it seem like nothing is wrong and there is still an element of hope, he is showing that she still cherishes every moment she is able to spend loving him. Conflict Of Self In John Calvin, The Accusative Case John Calvin s Conflict of Self John Calvin, the Accusative Case as he was called by friends, was known for being a stern and humorless theologian and in truth he was, but there was more to him than just that. Throughout his career, he was staunch in the belief of predetermination above all other thought. Unlike Luther, Calvin had not begun life with the mindset of being a preacher, but he arguably had just as much, if not more of an impact as a reformer. More humanist than previous reformers, but not truly that either, Calvin existed in a state of conflict. Calvin was educated as a French Humanist with a less than humanist view of predestination that culminated in an influential, but unfulfilled life. She was an orange juice sales woman who was working to repeal laws that protect homosexual human rights; specifically in employment and housing. She described homosexuality as tearing down the foundation of the family unit and compared gays to prostitutes and thieves. She tried to convince the public that the traditional family was being threatened and that practicing or accepting homosexuality was blasphemy. As he did throughout his encounters with all kinds of people, he also stated that he often broke the tension when giving a speech to mostly straight men by telling a joke. In a matter of a minute the police are able to determine if the suspect is lying and guilty or, on the rare occasion, telling the truth and innocent. But, one has to wonder, is it really that simple? Polygraphs measure four main factors that are thought to change when a lie is told and more importantly, it is assumed that these changes indicate deception. Around World War One (WWI) he experimented with a device that measured the rate and depth of breathing and based on these experiments he concluded that this device could be used to gauge deception (The History and Basic Facts of Polygraph, 2009). The United States government put these ideas of deception testing to work during WWI when they measured the blood pressure of prisoners of war during questioning. The first real big development towards the modern polygraph detector was in 1921 when Dr. John A. These bacteria break down almost any biodegradable organic waste including sewage and water waste and use it as fuel to generate power. Places like Penn State University and The Biodesign Institute in Arizona State University are already testing and improving this new alternative energy. According to Penn State University they have achieved in producing 1.5 watts per meter squared of amount of waste water taken in and believe that a large industrial plant will be able to produce near 0.8 watts per meter squared and will be able to support about 500 homes (9). This is a new technology that is being avidly researched, however it is not currently used in large ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This cell uses bacteria like Shewanella oneidensis and Rhodoferax ferrireducens and many labs are attempting to find better strains of bacteria more suited to the process (3). This fuel cells work in two parts. Basically, the microbial fuel cell has two halves, aerobic and anaerobic. Aerobic means with presence of oxygen, anaerobic means a lack of oxygen. When bacteria consume their food in aerobic conditions they produce carbon dioxide and water, however when it s in an anaerobic condition they produce carbon dioxide, electrons and protons. The MFC has the bacteria put in the anaerobic chamber of the cell and decompose water material that contain glucose and/or acetate. The bacteria also free hydrogen ions and electrons. The electrons flow from an anode into the cathode. The hydrogen ions however just pass through the barrier; soon the electrons and hydrogen ions are in the aerobic chamber and combine with the oxygen forming h2o. The H2O is released and electrical energy is produced from the transfer off the energy between the Anode and Cathode (or Anaerobic and Aerobic chambers). Microbial Fuel Cells have a large variety of benefits due to its versatility and choice of fuel. Firstly it can use most biodegradable organic matter including human and animal waste, sewage, etc. This is great as there is no limit to the fuel and it is easy to find. Secondly, it reduces cost ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Methods of management run the gamut from old fashioned relational policing in which the officer gets to know a certain group of people intimately by walking a prescribed route through neighborhoods, to the much more modern idea of containing crime by using different technological and scientific methods. The main issue with the different modes of crime management is that they are all effective to a certain degree, but it is difficult to determine to what extent. There have been studies conducted to see what is the most effective means of minimizing crime, but the general finding is that it is largely dependent on time and location. No one method has been gauged to be completely successful, so it is difficult to know which one to use. A premise, one that is given away by the title to this paper, is that only by using the wider police family can crime be effectively managed. This does not mean that crime has to be contained using a family hierarchical model, but that every member and department of a police force must be utilized correctly. This may also seem to be a shotgun approach to policing, but it is far from it. A scientific method is employed to make sure that every officer is used in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
