Fdr s Agricultural Reform
Congress initiated the National Recovery Review Board on March 7, 1934 with the supervision of
Clarence Darrow to investigate some of the monopolistic tendencies within the codes. Darrow s
findings showed that the NRA promoted big monopoly tactics of big business. Another big issue
during FDR s time in office was the agricultural recovery. The two main problems were the increasing
number of mortgage foreclosures on farms and the fact that farm purchasing power in terms of
industrial goods farmers had to buy, was at its lowest level ever (290). FDR came up with a serious of
strategies on March 27, 1933 he began to focus on agencies that dealt with agricultural credit in the
Farm Credit Administration. Congress passed the Emergency Farm Mortgage ... Show more content

Mayan Math History
Like each other part of human advancement, mathematics has its own particular birthplace focused
around the needs of humanity in searching for understanding. Mathematics emerged from the
necessity to quantify time and number. The earliest evidence of counting occurred in mountains of
Africa were notched bones and scored pieces of wood and stone were discovered. As human
advancements started to surface in Asia and the near east, frameworks and essential appreciation of
arithmetic, geometry and polynomial math started to develop. Mathematics has made a lot of progress
from the first evidence of counting in 50,00 B.C to the current utilization of math all over the place

The importance of astronomy and calendar (18 months a year; 20 days a month) calculations to the
Mayans required mathematics, which lead them create an advanced number system of its time. The
system was on base 20 and most times base 5, which very likely originated from counting on fingers
and toes. The numerals consisted of only three symbols: zero was represented as a shell shape, one, a
dot and five a bar, so calculation was basically adding or subtracting bars and dots. In spite of not
having the idea of a division, they delivered greatly exact cosmic perceptions utilizing no instruments
other than sticks in form of crosses to view astronomical objects and had the capacity measure the
length of the sunlight based year to a far higher level of exactness than that utilized as a part of Europe
(their computations created 365.242 days, contrasted with the cutting edge estimation of 365.242198),
and in addition the length of the lunar month (their evaluation was 29.5308 days, contrasted with the
advanced estimation of 29.53059). Due to the geographic disconnect, Mayan mathematics hardly
influenced the Old World (Europe and Asia) mathematics and numbering

Our White Ice Loving Friends are Disappearing The concerns about the ever rising sea levels, melting

Women, Indian, And American Cultures
Childbirth Positions in Chinese, Indian, and American Cultures
Culture is an enormous part of our lives. It can affect every part of our daily living from our health,
nutrition, religious beliefs, and communication, to even how one is expected to think and behave. This
paper explores various cultural beliefs on childbirth and specifically childbirth positions from three
different cultures, Chinese, Indian, and American. The basic differences in cultures permeates one s
perspective on birth and is part of why certain beliefs and restrictions are present. How one brings new
life into the world is steeped in traditions unique to each culture.
The Chinese believe that during childbirth the mother should not cry out or scream during labor. This
is due in part to their stoic nature which does not allow them to express or talk about their problems or
feelings. If they do, they may bring shame to their family known as a loss of face . Screaming or
crying out during labor may also cause interference from evil forces such as malevolent ghosts or
spirits according to religious beliefs. Chinese women usually give birth in a hospital in either a sitting
or squatting position (Queensland Govenment).
In India, women in childbirth are kept isolated from others during the birth because it is believed to be
impure and may pollute others. They are usually kept isolated for up to forty days after the birth with
their baby. This helps protect the mother and baby from illness and evil

Comparing Donatello And Verrocchio s David
Michelangelo was a very talented and famous Italian sculptor, painter and architect that belonged to
the high Renaissance. He is considered to be one if not the most, talented artists of all time. His been
able to provide the world with different types of art making his contributions prodigious. He was
admired by so many people and his talent was so extraordinary that he was the first artist ever to get
his biography published while being alive, something that is impressive. One of his most impressive
works was David, from the story of David and Goliath which he was able to sculpt before he turned

This is a major difference we have to consider because he belonged to the Baroque style whereas
Michelangelo belonged to the Renaissance. Michelangelo David has many major differences to the
prior designs by both Donatello and Verrocchio, they were the firsts to create a statue about the story
of David and Goliath. In both Donatello and Verrocchio s David, David is considerably younger,
compared to Michelangelo s. A major difference between Donatello and Verrocchio s David vs.
Michelangelo and Bernini s is that on the latter there is no head of Goliath in their feet. Due to the
time which latter artists belonged to, that wasn t a common. It is also important to consider that
Michelangelo s David is very unrealistic. Due to the fact that he was going to be placed outside in a
plaza, the design was made to be looked at from the bottom to the top. The statue has a very large
head and particularly big hands in comparison to an actual person s. It was very uncommon for
Michelangelo to do this. Bernini s David on the other hand is life sized, meaning it doesn t share
Michelangelo s features of exaggerated body parts. Michelangelo s David is in contrapposto, very
common during the Renaissance, where his head is to the left in contrast of his arms. Bernini s is
supposed to represent movement, is positioned in a way that when you look at it you define him as

Essay Woodrow Wilson and The Treaty of Versailles
Woodrow Wilson and The Treaty of Versailles
Woodrow Wilson, Premier Clemenceau, Prime Minister Lloyd George and Premier Orlando started
the Versailles Treaty committee. Wilson worked to win the Senates consent of the Treaty of Versailles
when he returned to America in July of 1919. Basically the treaty forced on Germany the burden of
reparations, and to take complete blame for the war. Woodrow Wilson felt that the treaty was too
harsh, placing unrealistic goals on Germany. Wilson wanted to add his Fourteen Points, which was a
less harsh approach to punish Germany. Unfortunately not all the points were added to the Treaty of
Versailles, but some points were introduced into the treaty. The Treaty that President Wilson agreed on

of Covenant required member nations to attempt to solve disputes peacefully. If that attempt fails, the
nations were to observe a waiting period before going to war. This Article took away Senates
constitutional power to declare war. They were upset about this; they wanted their constitutional rights

who got involved and Woodrow Wilson. W.E.B. De Bois criticizes Wilson, saying that if he weren t so
stubborn and idiotic then the League of Nations would have worked. Since Wilson wasn t willing to
compromise with the Republicans, the United States must suffer by not joining in at the assembly of
the League of Nations, which is the most forward looking event of the century according to De Bois.

Asoka s Influence On Greece And India
Greek, Macedonian, Roman and Chinese Empires absorbed many of the attributes of India by contact
through the Silk Road and Spice Trade Routes. These influences are reflected politically, in leadership,
culturally, in their ideology, geographically, with the migration of peoples, inter regionally through
trade, among the various regions, the spread of religion, artistic, as well as intellectual pursuits, etc.
India s influence on the Greece/ Macedonia territory was of great impact religiously. During the
Indian emperor Asoka s reign, around the year 260 B.C.E , after his conversion to Buddhism, he was
so inspired that he sent out missionaries to many areas, including the territory around Greece. (Spodek
244) Although not as widely spread as it was in China, Buddhism was spread throughout Greece
because of these missionaries. The relationship between Greece and India was one of commodity and
friendship (Video) When the Greek King Megasthenes traveled to India, he wrote about how the
government had such respect for him and foreigners in general. The peace in India could be attributed
to Asoka s rule and the policies of peace he enforced. Megasthenes said about the Indian people, The

As previously stated, Asoka sent many missionaries around the world to minister about Buddhism and
convert as many people as he could . (Spodek 244) He sent these missionaries to Rome, and this aided
the spread of Buddhism around that time. India and Rome had constant trade going on between them,
including the popular form of sea trade. When it all comes down to it, Rome mostly wanted spices and
silk from India and India mostly wanted gold from Rome. These trades recorded by both the
government of India and the government of Rome. (Casson) It was said, India was a well decorated
area during the times of the Roman/Indian trade.

The Importance Of Operating A Successful Garrison Command
The key to operating a successful Garrison Command is having the qualified personnel in place and
develop a series of short term objectives that can sustain long term goals. As this was SFC Sousa s
first exposure to installation base support, he relied heavily on his experience during Battle Staff
Course and his time as a Unit Supply NCO. During the time spend at pre mobilization at Fort Dix,
New Jersey, he was afforded the time to observe how a make shift FOB operated, what was involved
in the sustainment of the base which afforded him the opportunity to identified good base log support
methods and issues that could arise out of the ordinary. Unfortunately the Garrison Command and

badging section, and running a movement control cell for all operations leaving our AO. In addition to
this it quickly became clear that his role as a Garrison NCOIC for the masses was more realistically a
landlord for over one thousand tenants.
The NCOIC position was unique in Camp Bucca. There were over four Lieutenant Colonels, 3
Command Sergeant Majors, and 5 First Sergeant that all lived and worked on less than sixteen acres.
SFC Sousa s daily operational tempo was consumed with challenges ranging from advising on logistic
support requirements for life support on the base to finding out who does he talk to about establishing
a Department of Defense Activity Address Code (DoDAAC) for this new installation. In addition to
this, he became the subject matter expert for Morale and Welfare Recreation (MWR) matters.
One of the first major challenges was the establishment of a DoDAAC. Prior to his arrival at Camp
Bucca, the Supply Support Activity (SSA) was dealing with units and all units have their own
DODAAC. This is the method normally used to request supplies, request and track equipment, and
other logistical functions. Since the main element of the 102FA (RAOC) was located in Baghdad, SFC

The Marriage Roles Of Elmer And Lavera Enacted
For Carolyn, the combination of faith and equality started in her earliest memories. In Chicago, the
family attended a Mennonite church that was intentionally interracial (Huffman). The church has both
white and black pastors and a strongly diverse congregation. As mentioned before, early experiences
with racial equality also colored Carolyn s thoughts on gender equality. Though heavily exposed to
issues of racial equality at that age, gender equality was still far off. We grew up with the idea that the
man was the head of the household. That would have just been accepted in our family, in our church,
in our relatives...that s just how it was (Huffman). The marriage roles Elmer and LaVera enacted came
not only from cultural norms, but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But I think that s also, in some ways, been the hardest part. Because it moves so slowly. ...If there ever
would have been anything that would have made me not be a Christian, or give up my faith, it would
have been [gender issues] because so many people made it seem like you couldn t be a strong woman
or a woman that believed that you had equal voice, equal whatever if you were a Christian. They
would pull these ugly verses out of the Bible and tell you them. It took me a long time to kind of
figure out why or maybe to justify my position, I m not sure which why I think what I think. Again, I
think it s related to racial issues for me and gender issues. I really believe with all my heart, from
everything that Jesus says in the Bible, that Jesus thinks we re all alike. He says over and over again
things about caring for the widows and the poor and the lepers and the downtrodden and the outcasts. I
just think that message of respect and equality and inclusiveness and love for all is there. To me, it s
one of the central things about what it means to be a Christian. That love and acceptance for
everybody....It s also why, at this point, I feel the same way about homosexuality. Because, to me, that
s part of that. Yep, Jesus would accept us all. (Huffman)
Though change comes slowly for religious factions, change has come. Today, the Mennonite faith has
female pastors, including one of Carolyn s sisters, women in leadership, and does not

Who Is Lady Macbeth s Letter To Her Father
Dearest Beloved Mother and Father, In the short time of serving our mighty King Macbeth, I cannot
say anything but good things. Our majesty is nothing less than the kind, honorable, and noble man one
would expect him to be. On the contrary, however, there was one particular incident which startled me
greatly, and now I am fearful for my own life as well those in the kingdom.
Ere the day before, King Macbeth hosted the most elegant of all banquets in celebration of his
crowning. All was well; his servants and I tended to the guests with ease. Without any notice, a
mysterious, dark man emerged from the door s shadow and our King shortly excused himself and
proceeded to greet the man, privately. As I neared the end of the table, the two were deep in private
conversion; unfortunately, I was unable to effectively eavesdrop. As the suspicious man later turned to
leave and his cold eyes met mine for a moment. I was stunned by the mass of red on his ... Show more

A dark aura surrounded the room; it was obvious on all the guests timid faces, but no one understood
why. Continuing to discuss that His Highness s special quest, Banquo, was unable to attend, chills
filled me and the hairs on my neck as if a small wind leaked into the chamber. The chills turned to
solid ice as our Majesty, AGAIN, cursed and pointed at the invisible being in the chair. His words still
ring inside my head, Take any shape but that, and my firm nerves/Shall never tremble: or be alive
again... Now, however, we were all issued away by Lady Macbeth. Leaving their steaming food
abandoned, Lords empty the room instantly, lacking order, and the servants and I aimed toward our
wing.
Is our majesty s sanity being challenged? It is questioned if he will continue his rule. I fear the worst
dear parents. Pray you will care for yourselves as I fear I will be returning home soon.

The Value of a Liberal Education
In today s society we view education as many things, but among the many views and opinions of
education there are two major views we see that stand out, education is a right for all and education is
necessary only for finding a successful career. To be more exact, it is a college education that is or
should be available to all and is only necessary for securing a successful job. But before we even
begin to think about a job or whether we want to pursue our God given right to higher education we
must first start our journey at the bottom of the educational system. In our lives we all start our
journey through education in the same place, the bottom of the educational system. For some this can
mean something along the lines such as pre school, private tutoring, or home schooling. We eventually
work our way up going through kindergarten, elementary school, junior high, and then eventually high
school. After high school we are than left two choices, enter directly into the work force, or pursue a
higher education. Say we chose to pursue a higher education and go to college; we then have to make
another decision, do I want go directly into a certain profession and pursue a degree for that career, or
do I want expand my virtues and pursue a liberal education. For now, let us delve into the subject that
is a liberal education. The beginning of liberal education spans as far back as to the time of the great
Greek philosophers like Aristotle and Plato, as Chuck E. Taylor describes in

False Confessions Research Paper
False confessions has been the centered stone in the legal system for quite some time. The law
enforcement are the biggest advocate for wrongly conducting in false confessions. There are many
different tactics and behavioral issues that contribute to the false confessions. The main streamline
techniques that are used by law enforcement are the Reid Technique that consist of four areas; lost of
control, social isolation, certainty of guilt, and exculpatory. In addition, there is also four types of false
confessions; instrumental confessions, authentic confessions, voluntary confessions, and coerced
confessions.
The most common type of interrogation techniques that law enforcement tends to use is the
Intimidation factors (Costanzo, M, Krauss, pg35). They believe that they can intimidate a suspect into
confession. Another common technique used is psychological coercion, this consist of leaving no
physical marks on the suspect such as pushing the suspect head down inside the toilet, almost
drowning the suspect, making the suspect stand for long hours, withholding food and water, and ...

The fours situational techniques are lost of control. Lost of control is controlling the their psychical
environment; making the suspect feel as uncomfortable as possible. The second one is called Social
isolation. Social isolation is depriving the suspect of emotional support. Not allowing the suspect talk
to his friends or family or anyone known to him. The third one is called Certainty of guilt. Certainty of
guilt is using direct accusations. Telling the suspect that he committed the crime and knows that he did
based off poly evidences. The fourth one is called Exculpatory scenarios. Exculpatory scenario is
using face saving guilt excuse for the crime. In this example the integrator is trying to reason with the
suspect about why he committed the crime (Costanzo, M, Krauss,

discharge from the hospital. They are provided teaching about breastfeeding at home and offered

How BFI Meets the Requirements of Health Promotion
The main focus of the Baby Friendly Initiative strategy is to promote successful breastfeeding and
support the mother through out the process (Pound Unger, 2017). This strategy encourages mothers to
breastfeed for at least up to 6 months (Pound Unger, 2017). This is accomplished by teaching mothers
about the importance of breastfeeding, advantages and disadvantages of breastfeeding and proper
breastfeeding techniques (Pound Unger, 2017). The educating process in the BFI starts from

One of them is disagreement regarding the valid use of 10 Step process (Cadwell Turner Maffei,
2004). Prenatal teaching programs have limited number of staff to provide teaching prenatal teaching
(Cadwell Turner Maffei, 2004). Immediate Postpartum assessments have become a priority before
breastfeeding (Cadwell Turner Maffei, 2004). This is preventing the BFI focus of mother and baby
bonding and breastfeeding right after birth, because important that the mother and the baby bonds for
the first hour after birth (BCC, 2012). The health care workers have limited time with each patient,
due to this reason conducting assessment and patient teaching is limited (Cadwell Turner Maffei,
2004). Patient s misconceptions about complications of breastfeeding may discourage them from
accessing the BFI program (Cadwell Turner Maffei, 2004). Different cultural practises can dis courage
mother from accessing or following the BFI (Cadwell Turner Maffei, 2004). Patient unknowing about
the BFI or other services can prevent them from accessing the program or from seeking support
(Cadwell Turner Maffei, 2004). Women who live in rural areas in third world countries, where they
have no access to medical assistance have a lower chance of accessing the BFI program (Penwell,
2010). Women who choose to free birth or unassisted birth at home have a lower chance of accessing
or participating in the BFI program (India Parenting, 2016).
Evidence of Effectiveness
Many studies were done to identify the effectiveness of the Baby friendly Initiative practise around the
world. One of the research shows that 87.3 % to 89% of mothers are breastfeeding and the Baby

Observation Report On Coaching Observation
Intro
For the coaching observation project I observed the head coach of the Ohio State Buckeyes, Urban
Meyer. I watched him on TV when Ohio State played Penn State. The reason I selected Urban Meyer
to do my coaching observation is because he is the coach I decided to model my coaching philosophy
after. The reason I chose this game specifically is because this is a very important game and I want to
see how he handles his team in high pressure situations.
Review
1. Coaching style used or observed
A coaching style is the specific way a coach leads his team. The coaching style Urban Meyer used was
a laissez faire type coach. A laissez faire type coached is defined as a leader who makes as few
decisions as possible. During the weeks prior ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His non verbal communication was just his facial expressions that his players and assistant coaches
can see. His team was losing for most of the game and you could tell he was not happy. Penn State
returned the opening kick off and he looked disappointed, but he kind of kept his composure. Later in
the 2nd quarter during another kick return that was returned pretty far by Penn State his anger was a
little more visible as he was yelling and appeared very angry. Later once Ohio State started to play
better you could see his attitude change and he got happier. I m not sure if his negative attitude made
his team play worse, it is just something to think about whenever I am a head coach.
3. Reinforcement techniques
Reinforcement techniques are used to increase or decrease a behavior. During a game, especially on
the stage that Urban Meyer is coaching, it is important for his players to play well. Some techniques
that Urban Meyer used to reinforce his players during the game I observed were negative discipline.
His special teams were struggling a lot, especially his kickoff team. They were playing so bad that he
decided to remove multiple players from it and add starters from other positions onto the kick off team
to try and have better success. This shows that if you want to play, you have to perform.
4. Motivation techniques
Motivation techniques are how a coach

Psychological Abuse In Slavery By Harriet Jacobs
Psychological abuse is characterized by non physical acts to affect inner thoughts. As a slave, Harriet
Jacobs experienced a great amount of pain and suffering while her and her family members were
slaves of Dr. Flint. She narrated her experiences after realizing she was a slave at six years old. From
an analysis of Harriet Jacobs experience in slavery, she suffered more from psychological abuse
because she was treated like property, manipulated by Dr. Flint, and emotionally depressed.
One of the reasons why Harriet Jacobs suffers more from psychological abuse was because she was
treated as property. Upon the death of her generous mistress, Harriet Jacobs was later relocated into
her mistress niece s house. The mistress niece was only five years old which made Jacobs the property
of her father, Dr. Flint who made Harriet Jacobs life a living hell while being a slave in his house.
From the time that Jacobs and her brother William first walked into their new master s home, they
knew their lives were about to get worse: When we entered our new home we encountered cold looks,
cold words, and cold treatment, (Ch.2). From the start, Dr. Flint and his wife treated Jacobs as
property. As Jacobs said in chapter four, he occasionally tried to sell her for high prices but said she
wasn t his property to sell: She don t belong to me. She is my daughter s property, and I have no right
to sell her. Once Jacobs was 15 years old and Dr. Flint was 55, his sexual interest towards

III. Main Point 2: Tennis has been played all over the world for centuries, getting more popular as time

a. Many researchers have evidence of that tennis was played among the ancient Greeks, Egyptians,
and Romans just in different formats. http://www.worldatlas.com/articles/where did tennis

12th centuries. In that time French monks played handball on improvised court yards, and the game
was known in French as jeu de paume or game of the hand.
b. Balls back then were not like the tennis balls we know today. The balls were made of wood and the
players would hit the ball into the wall with their bare hands until eventually it got so painful that they
eventually incorporated leather gloves to take some of the pain away.

ideology, which in terms of a New Zealand context is Pakeha and male (Hegemony), the construction
of masculinity appears natural. This hegemonic masculinity is so naturalised it becomes invisible and
we don t see or think about it. Law, R (1997) states that The concept of hegemonic masculinity allows
for us to theorise the simultaneous existence of different constructions of masculinity, the social
dominance of some constructions and their legitimation as natural and the fluid and contested
character of all constructions of gender Pakeha men are the hegemonic masculinity in a New Zealand
context, they have social dominance over women and the Maori, even though they are same gender as
Maori men due to colonization they are repressed in terms of dominance.
Masculinity is ideological; it is embedded in culture and constructs gender. One is born as a sex, either
female or male, which then leads to a representation of there gender, as in if you re a man it is being
masculine and a female being feminine, these expectations of gender have been embedded in society
and determine traits and qualities that represent the two genders. This means we have to act in a
certain way to show our gender or to be considered masculine or feminine and if you don t fit into to
these stereotypes, it can effect

Anasazi Disappearance
The History and the Disappearance of the Anasazi Introduction: My topic is the history and the
disappearance of the Anasazi. I chose this topic because I am from Colorado and we visited Mesa
Verde on school trips. I find the Anasazi culture interesting and doing research on them seemed like it
would be enjoyable.
` The Anasazi populated the four corners area of Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona. They
became independent somewhere between 200 and 500 A.D. and disappeared 1100 years later leaving
behind many remains. There are many theories about what could have happened to the Anasazi but the
speculation with the strongest evidence is that they scattered due to drought and decreased resources.
Despite their disappearance, the Anasazi ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The article Riddles of the Anasazi states Using data from tree rings, researchers know that a terrible
drought seized the Southwest from 1276 to 1299; it is possible that in certain areas there was virtually
no rain at all during those 23 years. No rain for 23 years would be a justified reason for them to find
other places to live. The Anasazi also chopped down many trees for beams and firewood which lead to
deforestation. There is also evidence of an even longer drought from the years 1130 to 1180 which
shows that they were strong enough to withstand droughts before. It doesn t make sense for them to
last through a 50 year drought then leave because of a 23 year drought therefore it is still a mystery
what caused them to leave. The evidence isn t strong enough to know if this is why they left for
certain but there is more evidence that supports this is than any other reason for their

Essay on Nuclear Energy
Nuclear Energy Clean, Environmentally Friendly Energy
Nuclear energy is the world s largest source of emission free energy. Nuclear power plants produce no
controlled air pollutants, such as sulfur and particulates, or greenhouse gases. Renewables like solar,
wind and biomass can help. But only nuclear power offers clean, environmentally friendly energy on a
massive scale. The use of nuclear energy in place of other energy sources helps to keep the air clean,
preserve the Earth s climate, avoid ground level ozone formation and prevent acid rain. Currently,
there are 103 commercial nuclear power plants producing electricity in the United States, located at 64
sites in 31 states. They are, on average, 24 years old, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the past, Fallout shelters were administered by the U.S. Federal Civil Defense Administration,
which operated from 1951 in various forms until 1979, when its functions were pulled into the Federal

However, now this concern of being exposed to these sorts of particles has waned and people are not
as worried as in the past. Do to having stronger plants for this sort of energy to be produced, these
plants have been going on for years and it just keeps improving with use. The 103 U.S. nuclear power
plants are licensed by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to operate for 40 years, and can renew their
licenses for an additional 20 years (Eser notes April 4th). To date, 30 have received license renewal
and 40 more are expected to have their licenses renewed. Eventually, virtually all U.S. nuclear plants
are expected to apply for license renewal (http://www.nei.org).
Citizens of countries where fossil fuels are being utilized are concerned at the possible chance of
global warming. So many greenhouse gases emitted, ice burgs and caps are shifting or melting, that
population is beginning to worry about what is going to happen to the environment in the future if this
source is kept being used. With nuclear energy we don t have to worry about the environmental
changes. Nuclear energy has

Body Mechanics Essay
Body Mechanics Seminar Work related interventions are a central part of occupational therapy
practice and occupational therapists recognize the importance of healthy engagement within the
workplace (American Occupational Therapy Association [AOTA], 2014; Wilcock Townsend as cited
in AOTA, 2014). Occupational therapists possess skills necessary to assess individuals engaged in
work activities and recognize potential dangers related to poor body mechanics (Opp, 2016). Opp
(2016) acknowledged a recent increase in employers taking a proactive approach in preventing work
related injuries and incorporating occupational therapists as means to evaluate the work environment
and make practical recommendations to reduce the risk of workplace injury (Opp, 2016). Body

7 Stress Relief Strategies
In her article, 7 Stress Relief Strategies When You re Short On Time , Paula Davis Laack discuss
several stress relief strategies that people can try when they have ten minutes or less at work. Stress
management is also covered in our textbook in chapter 3. Indeed, chapter 3 discuss personal stress
management, and the topic is discussed in details in the section managing stress from page 77 to 79.
However, the article and the textbook s approach to stress management differently.
While the article focuses on stress relief strategies in the work environment, the textbook gives some
useful stress management tips that could particularly help college students. Obviously, college is a
quite stressful experience. College students should then take advantage of this moment to start
learning and practicing the art of stress reduction. The first textbook s suggestion to manage stress is

In fact, the main purpose of relaxation is to calm our bodies and mind. We can choose between several
relaxation techniques which include progressive relaxation, visualization or guided imagery and
biofeedback. Here again, this strategy differs from the ones mentioned in the article. Relaxation
requires a calm environment which is not the case of the work environment. Another strategy is
meditation, which helps a person reach a state of relaxation, but with the goal of achieving inner peace
and harmony. College students may also use this strategy, which is effective to reduce stress. The most
popular exercise practiced to reduce stress is yoga. Yoga is defined as the union of the mind, body and

Descriptive Essay On Poplar Hill Farm
Let me tell you about my 1986 visit to a place that sometimes feels forgotten to time and history.
October is usually the time of year when the intense heat of the summer in Mississippi is waning and
cooler conditions are on the way, but the summer of 1986, the heat, still intense. Ordinarily, visiting
with family, an easy task, but this was a bit different. The Poplar Hill Farm a place I had read about,
listened to stories about, the place I have wanted to visit since beginning my research. An adventure of
a lifetime, excited by the opportunity, a bit nervous, questioning my preparedness, but determined to
gain knowledge from Willie and Boles about their lives in Jefferson County. Who knew that this place
in the backwoods of Jefferson County, would become my passion and a love affair with everything
Jefferson County, Mississippi and Poplar Hill Farm/Plantation, Poplar Hill African Methodist
Episcopal Church and finally the Poplar Hill School. Open and receptive to again meet Willie Jackson
and Boles Riley, ask questions and of course, LISTEN to all the stories about their lives and stories of
the ancestors. What came as somewhat of a surprise, and I did not know, these men Willie and Boles,
they were the last two men to have known Delaney Jackson. My first stop, the Fayette Chancery
Clerks Office in downtown Fayette, greeted by Dr. Samuel White, we had become friends over the
phone and through letters of inquiry about documents and the history of Jefferson County,

Character Analysis Of Harry Potter
If you have never read the Harry Potter series by acclaimed novelist J.K. Rowling, then you are
missing out a thrilling story full of adventures and laughter, perfect for all ages (but mainly children).
Assuming you ve read the book at some point in your life (or seen the movie, if you re one of those
people), you would know all about the antagonist turned hero Severus Snape. He held one of the most
complex storylines, with a single chapter changing the view of almost every reader. Almost , as in it
didn t change mine. A little bit of background on this character: he s a jerk for the first six books,
bullying almost every one of his students, being a top supporter of the evilest wizard, Voldemort, and
(spoiler) killing one of the main characters in the sixth book. After getting attacked by Voldemort s
snake, he gives Harry Potter his tears so Harry can see Snape s memories (remember, it s a book about
wizards). In the memories, it shows Snape s hard childhood, wearing hand me down clothes and being
teased while longing for a girl named Lily. Ultimately, Lily marries James Potter, and together the two
have Harry. Snape, fascinated with dark magic, turns to the dark side . He spies on Dumbledore, the
leader of those opposed to Voldemort, and only switches sides upon learning of Voldemort s plans to
kill Harry and possibly Lily. Years later in the memories plays an encounter had with Dumbledore,
where he admits to caring for Harry and to having loved Lily Always , which

Comparing Azkaban And The Dark Knight
Sirius Black from The Prisoner of Azkaban and The Joker from The Dark Knight are similar and
different in Many ways. Whether it is the goals or individual sacrifices they have or themselves as
people. Each character shows that they are both so different but at the same time so similar. The Joker
himself is a very odd character as a whole. The Joker proves many times through out the film The
Dark Knight that he does not care about the sacrifices he has to make or even the consequences simply
because he does not believe he will genuinely get any. The list of sacrifices The Joker made includes

to believe this Sirius Black sacrifices his relationship and the love, he had for Harry Potter and his

Prisoner of Azkaban but the one thing that does stand out that he chooses to sacrifice, and that is his
life. Sirius Black decided to sacrifice his life to save Harry Potter, and save his friends from Lupin
who turned into a ware wolf. Although each movie has two different story lines and each character

In the speech and language section students need to ask meaning of words. This determines whether or
not the child will be involved in the learning process in a classroom setting. The student must describe
pictures and experiences. They must use appropriate verb tenses and grammar. This will ensure a core
of knowledge for the kindergarten curriculum. Also, the student must recognize simple jokes, riddles,
and absurdities. (Gisler and Eberts). The student s gross motor coordination should also be an
important factor in determining the child s readiness for kindergarten. They must be able to walk
downstairs using alternate feet, and hop on one foot; this is to check the child s balance and ability to
walk. They must jump along a six foot line with both feet. The student needs to be able to walk scissor
steps across a line. Last, but not least, student must be able to begin to skip alternating feet. These
evaluations are done in a few states nationwide. These evaluations do take place in certain districts in
the state of Mississippi and are administered by properly trained educators. This needs to become a
nationwide standard. (Williams) The next part of the evaluation should include fine motor
coordination including using scissors to cut a straight line. It seems like an easy task but as a
kindergarten teacher witnessing it first hand everyday; it is hard for students to complete this task.

The Meaning of Life and Death Essay
The Meaning of Life and Death The abstract idea of life cannot be explained by such simple ideas as
being animated, breathing, or speaking. Ordinary machines in this century can perform all of these
basic functions. The quandary with defining death is not as abstract and elusive as that of life. The
problem of defining life and death has plagued philosophers and the religious bodies for thousands of
years for one reason; each philosophy or religion has tried to define the meaning of life and death
from only their certain perspective. The seemingly appropriate approach to this problem would be to
understand the ideas presented in various philosophies and religions and through this knowledge
create a new definition for each idea of life ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The living have not yet been annihilated (otherwise they wouldn t be alive) (Cook). Also, according to
modern philosopher Steven Luper in an interpretation of Epicurus, death is also permanent non
existence , which is brought upon by some act of biological retirement . This applies to both humans
and replicants. Hereinafter, the deaths of humans and replicants should be considered one and the
same. The emphasis on death in Blade Runner can be attributed to many different reasons. One of
these reasons includes the search for a solution to its inevitable arrival. The prime objective of the
replicants in Blade Runner is to discover when they were created. To a human, this is common
knowledge, but the replicants are not given this information freely. Although, in contrast to the human
knowledge of when they were incepted or born, the replicants know the ultimate length of their life.
After Roy finally meets Tyrell, he is asked, What seems to be the problem? Roy answers, predictably,
death. Why is death such a problem to the replicants? The replicants do not actually have a problem
with death; they have a problem with the brevity of their life. This is why the replicants hope that their
creator, the person that gave them the time limit on their life, can extend it. This is similar to the hope
held by most humans of a life after death, but because the replicants know that there is no such life for
them after death,

Persuasive Essay On Electronic Voting
If you re over the age of eighteen maybe you have thought about voting at least once. Everyone should
be able to vote, but with computers emerging as the main source of technology of modern society, a
city in the United States is considering using electronic voting machines(EVMs) for the next election.
These machines would be used in place of traditional paper ballots. And citizens are divded on
whether their city should use EVMs or continue to vote through traditional paper ballots. Here are the
different perspectives on an issue of importance. In favor of using electronic voting ballots, some
citizens in the U.S.A feel electronic voting machines help more people vote more easily. In 2003 97%
of voters of different ages, races, and physical ability said they had no trouble using the machines. A
2006 poll in Utah returned almost the same result. Even voters of different languages can smoothly
adapt from using the electronic voting machines over the paper ballots. Since the costs of printing is
high the many different languages are limited for the paper ballots, so without EVMs voters who do
not read english well have to ask the poll workers for help making privacy impossible. Citizens also
agree with using EVMs over paper ballots because they are safe. They aren t connected to the internet,
where hacking often occurs, so they can t be tampered with. Voters with security questions do not
need to worry. They capture votes electronically and store them in

they tripped over something. Once everyone is done sharing I will introduce the topic of cause and
effect and explain to them using the previous examples what cause and effect is. For example, when
the students ate to much candy they got a tummy ache, the cause of the tummy ache was eating too
much candy and the effect of eating too much candy was a tummy ache, I will do the same thing and
use the example of tripping over something. Once they have a pretty good understanding of the
concept I will read the book to them. Once I am done reading the book the students and I will go back

the book it reads If you take a mouse to school, he ll ask you for your lunch box. When you give him

because he was given a lunch box he wanted to fill it with food for later and that was the effect the

Conducting An Interrogation
In general, the civilian population does not know or recognize the difference between an interview and
an interrogation. Both forms of interacting with a person seems the same to an untrained individual.
Whichever method used requires planning. An interrogation requires more that planning, it requires
approval. The end goal for the interviewer or interrogate is to secure a confession (Swanson, et at., Pg.

The purpose in conducting an interview is to gather information that may assist, in obtain valuable
facts; eliminating the innocent; identify the guilty; and obtain a confession for what happened in an

Pros And Cons Of Latin Music
Music is all around us; it is a universal language in which unites people from different cultures. From
a basis level, Music has emerged from individual reasons and influences, allowing it to divide into
smaller sub entities which end up being contributors to all cultures creating a globalized community.
Further more, different sub genres of music such as Dance, Jazz, Classical, and Alternative have
derived from an origin and were created because of varied factors and to this day influence specific
groups. On an international latino level, this specific community has become highly recognized in
today s world. The Latin Music consists of many sub genres but the most influential ones are

Salsa has its origin to Cuban son with use of heavy percussions (clave, maracas, conga, bongo,
tambores, bato, cowbell to name a few), then included the marimba, bass, guitar and other African
driven songs instruments. The rhythm has a very simple 1 2 3 sequence. The tempo is fast and the
musical energy is exuberant, but there are different types of salsa such as salsa dura (hard salsa) and
salsa romantica (romantic salsa), there are salsa merengues, chirisalsas, balada salsas the list goes on.
Besides its origin, Salsa was then later on conceived in New York, Harlem during the 1970s. It served
as a preservations towards the latino community because during the Cold War, when there were
tensions between the USA and Cuba, this specific genre of music served as a safe umbrella term for
use in the mass marketing of Latin music . Meaning that, it was strategically obscuring the fact that
the music was very clearly Cuban . By doing this, Salsa was clearly identified as the core unification
of the Latino community. (Rech

Now I would like to analyse the research I have done to complete my industry project by answering
the following research questions

Solution Sealed road The road is a way to reach from one place to another. It limits the wider
distances. Sealed road is a road which surface has been permanently sealed by use of one of several
pavements treatment.
Materials used for sealed road soil, water, asphalt, concrete, tar and Bitumen.
How to construct the road firstly I will investigate and clear the site of road with grass Extracting. I
will remove extra waste materials. I will inspect the soil because clay soil is soft so that strong soil is
needed for construction of road.
Construction of sealed road involves the following 6 basic steps.

Captain Aimee Le Medec Research Paper
No words can describe the cloud of sorrow that hangs over Halifax and surrounding areas. December
6th, 1917 will forever mark a tragedy in our history. I am very blessed that my business and I survived
the explosion, but I too am still grieving the loved ones I lost. As I walk down to what once was
known as the Richmond District of Halifax, it hard to imagine that a street was once here, a home
there, because all that is visible now is debris. Debris that is covered with a light blanket of snow on
this cold January day. Nestled in the heart of Halifax lies the legendary harbour. The day is December
6th, 1817. It seems as if it is a normal day in Halifax. The two ships that caused the explosion were the
Imo and the Mont Blanc . The Mont Blanc was a French general cargo and a munitions ship owned by
Cie Generale Transatlantique. The ship was considered very old yet had a ... Show more content on

First, I think that Captain Aimee Le Medec is ultimately to blame because he abandoned ship. He
could of prevented the explosion through many different ways such as opening the hatches or turning
the boat back to sea. Instead he did none of these. In addition Captain Aimee Le Medec blatantly
ignored putting the red flag up on the Mont Blanc. For 20 minutes crowds collected around Halifax
Harbour to watch the billowing smoke filled with sparks and fire as the Mont Blanc drifted towards
the wharf. If the red flag was up then these people would have been warned that there were munitions
on board and the people would of had a chance to run from the wharf. Finally I that Captain Aimee Le
Medec is ultimately to blame because he could have moved the ship towards port when the Mont
Blanc encountered the Imo in the narrow harbour. Instead he entered a state of shock, ordering the
crew to abandon ship. I feel that Captain Aimee Le Medec never took initiative to stop this tragedy
which he should feel ashamed

Machines Overcoming Humans
As one would begin to think, about how much technology we humans use daily, they realize just how
much we are in need of it. As people, look back in time over the generations to where we no
technology to whereas now almost everything you come across you can find on the internet or on a
system. When reading The Machine Stops, it shows the reader just how naïve people are to how much
technology they use. People are so use to just having it that they do not even think about how much it
consumes their lives. As I have learned, in the past couple of months just how much we humans are as
a cyborg, made me just as gullible as people are to how much technology consumes our lives. When
first thinking about the concept of us humans are as cybernetic organisms I was skeptical about the
concept and did not believe we were as cybernetic organisms. As looking to see what a cybernetic
organism is, I found they are a human who has certain biological developments assisted or controlled
by mechanical or electronic devices. When learning that was the meaning I began to think us humans
are as cybernetic organisms. My first reading on the thoughts of cyborg, was You Are Cyborg, written
by Hari Kunzru, writing to Donna Haraway who does believe we humans are cyborgs. As one reads
You Are Cyborg, who sees that Donna Haraway, is not saying that we humans are physically cyborgs
that are all mechanically made but that we are consumed by technology making us cybernetic
organisms. This concept

My New Journey At Kiaria O. Brown Mortuary Inc. Essay
Good morning, today is September 2925 B.C., as I start my morning I m very excited. I m starting my
new journey at Kiaria O. Brown Mortuary Inc., the team and I are set out to travel to Port Said, Egypt
for Queen Nefertiti Ancient Egyptian Funerary. As the team conduct normal procedures before the day
start, I prepare to get the necessary tools to prep the deceased for mummification, the most important
process we have to commence after a person has died. Ms. Nefertiti would be buried in paradise
known as The Field of Reeds, where her soul would be tested. The Field of Reeds is known to the
Egyptians as A aru, which they believed the afterlife of the eternal soul were visions of their mirror
like image. Death to the Egyptians is a celebration, the family members believe her soul is trapped
inside her body, so therefore we must send her to the Gods. The Gods were Anubis, Osiris, Thoth and
The Forty Two Judges. As Queen Nefertiti confess to her negative actions, the high power would
confer. Would the queen heart be lighter than the feather or heavier? Who knows. There s no hell in
the afterlife, your only Great Death is to be thrown to the floor and eaten by the female devourer of the
dead known as Ammut. The family brought Queen Nefertiti to Kiaria. O. Brown Mortuary embalmers,
in which the family had to sit down with the professionals to agree upon pricing and quality. It was up
to Nefertiti family members to choose the coffin type, funerary rites available and the treatment

Eleanor Roosevelt as a Campaigner for Human Rights
1. INTRODUCTION
Human rights are rights that every single one of us has just by the fact that we are humans. But it wasn
t like that always. We didn t always have those rights. A lot of time, struggle and many fights had to
pass for these rights to start being acknowledged and respected.
Many people in the past dedicated their lives to the fight for human rights. They weren t afraid to
stand for what they believed in and they believed in a better tomorrow. They did everything that was
in their power to make sure it comes true. But even now, after everything they did and all the progress
they made we still hear and read about basic human rights being violated all around the world.

Her invitation failed and she invited NAACP Executive Secretary Walter White and the presidents of
African American universities to the White House to discuss the situation. After this meeting she
pressured National Recovery administrator Donald Richberg to investigate race based wage
differences implemented by southern industries.
Eleanor soon embraced civil rights agenda and championed equal opportunity. Quality education
became her number one public priority and she urged states to address the inequities in public school
funding. Her symbolic outreach got a strong response from African Americans. By the beginning of
1934 she received thousand of letters describing racial violence, poverty and homelessness and
pleading for any kind of help.
Mary McLeod Bethune, whom Eleanor met in 1927 at an education conference, also helped Eleanor s
understanding of the problem African Americans were facing. She brought list of requests for Eleanor
s interventions. The two of them developed extremely close relationship. Eleanor s decision to
challenge the segregation ordinance at the 1938 convening of the Southern Conference on Human
Welfare in Birmingham was based partly on her desire to sit with Bethune.

Absolutism s Influence On Religion
Among the European countries, France has been one of the most influenced by the Catholic Church.
During the Ancien Regime, France was considered Catholicism s Eldest daughter because France was
the first country to take in Catholicism as the nation s religion. Due to the relationship between the
country and religion, the pope and king formed a closely knit connection between each other. As it is
written in the book The French Revolution and the Church, the idea of the state and church being
independent from each other was not considered as a practical possibility to anyone at the time.
Another reason why they were closely related was because the kings of the form of government
known as absolutism were known to derive their power from God. ... Show more content on

The absolutist monarchy, along with the Catholic Church, was in danger. The commoners had enough
of all the privileges the clergy and the nobles had and started to revolt. During the Ancien Regime,
France was divided into three different estates, the First, Second, and Third Estate. The First Estate
was composed of all the clergy, while the Second was the nobility, and Third, those who were not
included in the First or Second. The clergy was the first estate among the three because they were the
ones who were closest to God, not including the king because he is not a part of the Estates.Benefits
the Catholics and the nobilities were able to have from the government were apparent in the way the
Estates were organized. The discrimination against the Third Estate could be seen in ways that,
although the third estate constituted over 90 percent of the population, they had the equal amount of
votes with the clergy and nobility. That means, because both the clergy and nobility are content with
what they have, the third estate would always be outvoted by the two. First of all, the First and Second
Estates did not have to pay tax. The burden was completely on the Third estate, and in addition to that,
the First estate received tithes from the commoners. The First Estate owned the most land collectively.
The First Estate, while being only .5 percent of the population of France, owned around ten percent

Fdr s Agricultural Reform Congress initiated the National Recovery Review Board on March 7, 1934 with the supervision of Clarence Darrow to investigate some of the monopolistic tendencies within the codes. Darrow s findings showed that the NRA promoted big monopoly tactics of big business. Another big issue during FDR s time in office was the agricultural recovery. The two main problems were the increasing number of mortgage foreclosures on farms and the fact that farm purchasing power in terms of industrial goods farmers had to buy, was at its lowest level ever (290). FDR came up with a serious of strategies on March 27, 1933 he began to focus on agencies that dealt with agricultural credit in the Farm Credit Administration. Mathematics emerged from the necessity to quantify time and number. The earliest evidence of counting occurred in mountains of Africa were notched bones and scored pieces of wood and stone were discovered. As human advancements started to surface in Asia and the near east, frameworks and essential appreciation of arithmetic, geometry and polynomial math started to develop. Mathematics has made a lot of progress from the first evidence of counting in 50,00 B.C to the current utilization of math all over the place from cellphones and machines to dating of old ancient rarities and adjusting ... The importance of astronomy and calendar (18 months a year; 20 days a month) calculations to the Mayans required mathematics, which lead them create an advanced number system of its time. The system was on base 20 and most times base 5, which very likely originated from counting on fingers and toes. The numerals consisted of only three symbols: zero was represented as a shell shape, one, a dot and five a bar, so calculation was basically adding or subtracting bars and dots. In spite of not having the idea of a division, they delivered greatly exact cosmic perceptions utilizing no instruments other than sticks in form of crosses to view astronomical objects and had the capacity measure the length of the sunlight based year to a far higher level of exactness than that utilized as a part of Europe (their computations created 365.242 days, contrasted with the cutting edge estimation of 365.242198), and in addition the length of the lunar month (their evaluation was 29.5308 days, contrasted with the advanced estimation of 29.53059). • 5. Women, Indian, And American Cultures Childbirth Positions in Chinese, Indian, and American Cultures Culture is an enormous part of our lives. It can affect every part of our daily living from our health, nutrition, religious beliefs, and communication, to even how one is expected to think and behave. This paper explores various cultural beliefs on childbirth and specifically childbirth positions from three different cultures, Chinese, Indian, and American. The basic differences in cultures permeates one s perspective on birth and is part of why certain beliefs and restrictions are present. How one brings new life into the world is steeped in traditions unique to each culture. The Chinese believe that during childbirth the mother should not cry out or scream during labor. This is due in part to their stoic nature which does not allow them to express or talk about their problems or feelings. If they do, they may bring shame to their family known as a loss of face . Screaming or crying out during labor may also cause interference from evil forces such as malevolent ghosts or spirits according to religious beliefs. Chinese women usually give birth in a hospital in either a sitting or squatting position (Queensland Govenment). In India, women in childbirth are kept isolated from others during the birth because it is believed to be impure and may pollute others. They are usually kept isolated for up to forty days after the birth with their baby. This helps protect the mother and baby from illness and evil ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He is considered to be one if not the most, talented artists of all time. His been able to provide the world with different types of art making his contributions prodigious. He was admired by so many people and his talent was so extraordinary that he was the first artist ever to get his biography published while being alive, something that is impressive. This is a major difference we have to consider because he belonged to the Baroque style whereas Michelangelo belonged to the Renaissance. Michelangelo David has many major differences to the prior designs by both Donatello and Verrocchio, they were the firsts to create a statue about the story of David and Goliath. In both Donatello and Verrocchio s David, David is considerably younger, compared to Michelangelo s. A major difference between Donatello and Verrocchio s David vs. Michelangelo and Bernini s is that on the latter there is no head of Goliath in their feet. Due to the time which latter artists belonged to, that wasn t a common. It is also important to consider that Michelangelo s David is very unrealistic. Due to the fact that he was going to be placed outside in a plaza, the design was made to be looked at from the bottom to the top. The statue has a very large head and particularly big hands in comparison to an actual person s. It was very uncommon for Michelangelo to do this. Bernini s David on the other hand is life sized, meaning it doesn t share Michelangelo s features of exaggerated body parts. Michelangelo s David is in contrapposto, very common during the Renaissance, where his head is to the left in contrast of his arms. Bernini s is supposed to represent movement, is positioned in a way that when you look at it you define him as being in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Essay Woodrow Wilson and The Treaty of Versailles Woodrow Wilson and The Treaty of Versailles Woodrow Wilson, Premier Clemenceau, Prime Minister Lloyd George and Premier Orlando started the Versailles Treaty committee. Wilson worked to win the Senates consent of the Treaty of Versailles when he returned to America in July of 1919. Basically the treaty forced on Germany the burden of reparations, and to take complete blame for the war. Woodrow Wilson felt that the treaty was too harsh, placing unrealistic goals on Germany. These influences are reflected politically, in leadership, culturally, in their ideology, geographically, with the migration of peoples, inter regionally through trade, among the various regions, the spread of religion, artistic, as well as intellectual pursuits, etc. India s influence on the Greece/ Macedonia territory was of great impact religiously. During the Indian emperor Asoka s reign, around the year 260 B.C.E , after his conversion to Buddhism, he was so inspired that he sent out missionaries to many areas, including the territory around Greece. (Spodek 244) Although not as widely spread as it was in China, Buddhism was spread throughout Greece because of these missionaries. The relationship between Greece and India was one of commodity and friendship (Video) When the Greek King Megasthenes traveled to India, he wrote about how the government had such respect for him and foreigners in general. • 11. The Marriage Roles Of Elmer And Lavera Enacted For Carolyn, the combination of faith and equality started in her earliest memories. In Chicago, the family attended a Mennonite church that was intentionally interracial (Huffman). The church has both white and black pastors and a strongly diverse congregation. As mentioned before, early experiences with racial equality also colored Carolyn s thoughts on gender equality. Though heavily exposed to issues of racial equality at that age, gender equality was still far off. We grew up with the idea that the man was the head of the household. That would have just been accepted in our family, in our church, in our relatives...that s just how it was (Huffman). They would pull these ugly verses out of the Bible and tell you them. It took me a long time to kind of figure out why or maybe to justify my position, I m not sure which why I think what I think. Again, I think it s related to racial issues for me and gender issues. I really believe with all my heart, from everything that Jesus says in the Bible, that Jesus thinks we re all alike. He says over and over again things about caring for the widows and the poor and the lepers and the downtrodden and the outcasts. I just think that message of respect and equality and inclusiveness and love for all is there. To me, it s one of the central things about what it means to be a Christian. That love and acceptance for everybody....It s also why, at this point, I feel the same way about homosexuality. Because, to me, that s part of that. Yep, Jesus would accept us all. • 12. Who Is Lady Macbeth s Letter To Her Father Dearest Beloved Mother and Father, In the short time of serving our mighty King Macbeth, I cannot say anything but good things. Our majesty is nothing less than the kind, honorable, and noble man one would expect him to be. On the contrary, however, there was one particular incident which startled me greatly, and now I am fearful for my own life as well those in the kingdom. Ere the day before, King Macbeth hosted the most elegant of all banquets in celebration of his crowning. All was well; his servants and I tended to the guests with ease. Without any notice, a mysterious, dark man emerged from the door s shadow and our King shortly excused himself and proceeded to greet the man, privately. The chills turned to solid ice as our Majesty, AGAIN, cursed and pointed at the invisible being in the chair. His words still ring inside my head, Take any shape but that, and my firm nerves/Shall never tremble: or be alive again... Now, however, we were all issued away by Lady Macbeth. Leaving their steaming food abandoned, Lords empty the room instantly, lacking order, and the servants and I aimed toward our wing. Is our majesty s sanity being challenged? It is questioned if he will continue his rule. I fear the worst dear parents. Pray you will care for yourselves as I fear I will be returning home soon. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. The Value of a Liberal Education In today s society we view education as many things, but among the many views and opinions of education there are two major views we see that stand out, education is a right for all and education is necessary only for finding a successful career. To be more exact, it is a college education that is or should be available to all and is only necessary for securing a successful job. But before we even begin to think about a job or whether we want to pursue our God given right to higher education we must first start our journey at the bottom of the educational system. In our lives we all start our journey through education in the same place, the bottom of the educational system. For some this can mean something along the lines such as pre school, private tutoring, or home schooling. We eventually work our way up going through kindergarten, elementary school, junior high, and then eventually high school. After high school we are than left two choices, enter directly into the work force, or pursue a higher education. Say we chose to pursue a higher education and go to college; we then have to make another decision, do I want go directly into a certain profession and pursue a degree for that career, or do I want expand my virtues and pursue a liberal education. For now, let us delve into the subject that is a liberal education. The beginning of liberal education spans as far back as to the time of the great Greek philosophers like Aristotle and Plato, as Chuck E. Taylor describes in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

How BFI Meets the Requirements of Health Promotion The main focus of the Baby Friendly Initiative strategy is to promote successful breastfeeding and support the mother through out the process (Pound Unger, 2017). This strategy encourages mothers to breastfeed for at least up to 6 months (Pound Unger, 2017). I watched him on TV when Ohio State played Penn State. The reason I selected Urban Meyer to do my coaching observation is because he is the coach I decided to model my coaching philosophy after. The reason I chose this game specifically is because this is a very important game and I want to see how he handles his team in high pressure situations. Review 1. Penn State returned the opening kick off and he looked disappointed, but he kind of kept his composure. Later in the 2nd quarter during another kick return that was returned pretty far by Penn State his anger was a little more visible as he was yelling and appeared very angry. Later once Ohio State started to play better you could see his attitude change and he got happier. I m not sure if his negative attitude made his team play worse, it is just something to think about whenever I am a head coach. 3. Reinforcement techniques Reinforcement techniques are used to increase or decrease a behavior. During a game, especially on the stage that Urban Meyer is coaching, it is important for his players to play well. Some techniques that Urban Meyer used to reinforce his players during the game I observed were negative discipline. His special teams were struggling a lot, especially his kickoff team. They were playing so bad that he decided to remove multiple players from it and add starters from other positions onto the kick off team to try and have better success. This shows that if you want to play, you have to perform. 4. Motivation techniques Motivation techniques are how a coach ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As a slave, Harriet Jacobs experienced a great amount of pain and suffering while her and her family members were slaves of Dr. Flint. She narrated her experiences after realizing she was a slave at six years old. From an analysis of Harriet Jacobs experience in slavery, she suffered more from psychological abuse because she was treated like property, manipulated by Dr. Flint, and emotionally depressed. One of the reasons why Harriet Jacobs suffers more from psychological abuse was because she was treated as property. Upon the death of her generous mistress, Harriet Jacobs was later relocated into her mistress niece s house. The mistress niece was only five years old which made Jacobs the property of her father, Dr. Flint who made Harriet Jacobs life a living hell while being a slave in his house. From the time that Jacobs and her brother William first walked into their new master s home, they knew their lives were about to get worse: When we entered our new home we encountered cold looks, cold words, and cold treatment, (Ch.2). • 20. The Representation Of Gender Masculinity The representation of gender in a masculine context in New Zealand is constructed through hegemonic constructions formed through colonisation. Due to being constructed by this dominant ideology, which in terms of a New Zealand context is Pakeha and male (Hegemony), the construction of masculinity appears natural. This hegemonic masculinity is so naturalised it becomes invisible and we don t see or think about it. Law, R (1997) states that The concept of hegemonic masculinity allows for us to theorise the simultaneous existence of different constructions of masculinity, the social dominance of some constructions and their legitimation as natural and the fluid and contested character of all constructions of gender Pakeha men are the hegemonic masculinity in a New Zealand context, they have social dominance over women and the Maori, even though they are same gender as Maori men due to colonization they are repressed in terms of dominance. Masculinity is ideological; it is embedded in culture and constructs gender. One is born as a sex, either female or male, which then leads to a representation of there gender, as in if you re a man it is being masculine and a female being feminine, these expectations of gender have been embedded in society and determine traits and qualities that represent the two genders. The problem of defining life and death has plagued philosophers and the religious bodies for thousands of years for one reason; each philosophy or religion has tried to define the meaning of life and death from only their certain perspective. The emphasis on death in Blade Runner can be attributed to many different reasons. One of these reasons includes the search for a solution to its inevitable arrival. The prime objective of the replicants in Blade Runner is to discover when they were created. To a human, this is common knowledge, but the replicants are not given this information freely. • 35. Persuasive Essay On Electronic Voting If you re over the age of eighteen maybe you have thought about voting at least once. Everyone should be able to vote, but with computers emerging as the main source of technology of modern society, a city in the United States is considering using electronic voting machines(EVMs) for the next election. These machines would be used in place of traditional paper ballots. And citizens are divded on whether their city should use EVMs or continue to vote through traditional paper ballots. Here are the different perspectives on an issue of importance. In favor of using electronic voting ballots, some citizens in the U.S.A feel electronic voting machines help more people vote more easily. In 2003 97% of voters of different ages, races, and physical ability said they had no trouble using the machines. A 2006 poll in Utah returned almost the same result. Even voters of different languages can smoothly adapt from using the electronic voting machines over the paper ballots. Since the costs of printing is high the many different languages are limited for the paper ballots, so without EVMs voters who do not read english well have to ask the poll workers for help making privacy impossible. Citizens also agree with using EVMs over paper ballots because they are safe. They aren t connected to the internet, where hacking often occurs, so they can t be tampered with. Voters with security questions do not need to worry. They capture votes electronically and store them in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Concept books are great to use because there are so many benefits that can come out of them. In this book particularly it would be a great simulant of discussion for the students, they can explore the different ideas within the book and talk amongst each other about their own opinions. Once the students share their answers I will then ask them what happened once they ate to much candy or once they tripped over something. Once everyone is done sharing I will introduce the topic of cause and effect and explain to them using the previous examples what cause and effect is. For example, when the students ate to much candy they got a tummy ache, the cause of the tummy ache was eating too much candy and the effect of eating too much candy was a tummy ache, I will do the same thing and use the example of tripping over something. Once they have a pretty good understanding of the concept I will read the book to them. Once I am done reading the book the students and I will go back through it and figure out all of the examples of cause and effect throughout the book. For example, in the book it reads If you take a mouse to school, he ll ask you for your lunch box. When you give him your lunchbox, he ll want a sandwich and a snack for later. After reading this the students and I would discuss that the cause of the mouse wanting the lunch box was because he was going to school and because he was given a lunch box he wanted to fill it with food for later and that was the effect the mouse receiving the lunch box. Once the students understand this concept pretty well, they will break into groups of two and create a short story of cause and effect using any animal they want.
