Boeing Debt Ratios
Another factor we need to look at in our comparison is long term debt and leverage. Times interest
earned, debt to debt + equity ratio, and debt to total assets ratio are the focus of long term debt and
leverage. Times interest earned provides the relationship between the companies s earning to cover
interest payment and also ability to take in more debt. In calculations above, both companies are
capable of paying back interest payments and take more debts. However, Boeing has higher ability to
take in more debt and pay back interests comparing to Lockheed Martin. By further examine the long
term debt and leverage, debt to debt + equity and debt to total asset ratios must also be assess. These

1. How did the rise of the monastic movement affect Augustine s thinking about marriage in his
Confessions? The monastic movement was questioning if it was the right thing to do, leaving the city
to follow the Christian faith. The main idea that was on Christians minds was of sex, marriage,
property and a career. Augustine wants to be baptized under the Christian faith when he was 33 years
old because he made the decision that he was going to renounce about marriage and a successful
career. When he wrote in his book the Confessions being married Christians seemed like a pale
approximation of authentic Christianity. ( The Christian

Essay on Romance de la Luna, Luna
Federico Garcia Lorca s Romance de La Luna, Luna is a Spanish poem that tells the story of a young
gypsy boy and the moon. His love and infatuation with the moon leads to his death. This poem not
only tells the story of this young child s demise, but also shows the effects when someone is lured in
by an appealing temptation. The poem uses many literary devices to enhance the meaning the words
provide. The poem starts at the beginning of the story as the moon comes to visit the forge. The moon
is said to be wearing her skirt of white, fragrant flowers (Lorca 2) as its bright light penetrates the
scene. The poem states the young boy watches her, watches. / The young boy is watching her (3 4).
The repetition of the phrase emphasizes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The moon has now become ominous as it forewarns of the child s death. Spanish culture is once again
brought into the poem as the moon becomes deathly. The moon has always been a figure of death in
Spanish history and continues to be represented in that matter by this poem. The moon s sensual
appeal balances its foreboding nature. The boy is enticed by the mystery of the moon and does not
heed her warning. Once again the boy warns the moon, flee, moon, moon, moon (17), as he shows his
continued persistence to save the moon he has been draw into. He warns that the gypsies are coming,
but the moon will not leave its dance. The moon says, young boy, leave me, don t step on / my
starched whiteness (19 20). This shows her lack of concern for the boy, which exemplifies her task to
only attract him to her. Her starched whiteness once again contradicts her true mission to lead him to
his demise. Beating the drum of the plain (22) stresses the intensity of the moment leading up to the
point that within the forge the young man has closed eyes (23).
The climax of the story has just occurred, as the child death has taken place. The Spanish belief that
the moon is a bad omen has remained true with the little boy s eyes closed, signifying his death. The
gypsies return and the diction used to describe them emphasizes their mystery and flow. How the night
bird sings (29) implies the bird is singing a song to mourn the death of the child. It then says across
the sky moves

The Rice Wheat Farming System
THE ADAPTATION OF RICE WHEAT FARMING SYSTEM TO THE AGRO ECOSYSTEMS AND
WEATHER
Rice wheat farming system:
The Indo Gangetic plain (IGP) of south Asia is formed by the sedimentation of alluvial soil by the
Indus and the Ganges rivers. The large fertile plain with flowing rivers favours agriculture. The rice
wheat farming system in the Indo Gangetic plain occupies 13.5 M ha of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh
and Nepal (Timsina and Connor, 2001). In India, the rice wheat farming system is the major source of
food security as it produces more than 50% of cereal in 10 M ha (Ladha et al., 2000).
Rice wheat farming system formation:
Formerly, the majorly cultivated crop in North Indus and Eastern Indus were wheat and rice
respectively (Ladha et al., 2000). The adaptation and expansion of Rice Wheat farming system
occurred in India with the development of short duration varieties of rice and wheat during the Green
Revolution (Timsina et al., 2001). The allied farming activity is livestock rearing in IGP. The livestock
comprises 10% livelihood of rice wheat based small farm holders in Indo Gangetic plain (Erenstein et
al., 2007) with an average 3.6 cow/household (Erenstein and Thorpe, 2010, cited in Erenstein 2011) .
Agro ecological conditions:
NW Indo Gangetic plain has extreme hot and cold climate whereas the climate is mild in the east. The
continental monsoon type of climate, warm wet summers and dry cool winters, favours the rotational
cultivation of rice and wheat (Dixon

Teens Who Expect to Die Young Are More Likely to Commit Crime gives readers a look into a study
conducted by the University of Texas at Dallas. My first thought, my first question was, What teenager
wants to die? As I read on, I found out that teens like Henderson feel death would be easier than the
lives they live, the lives they think they re destined to live, or being locked up. Henderson, who is 18,

The PVAAg nanocomposite films were prepared by the in situ chemical reduction method [8e12].
Sample b with 0.4 wt % of silver was prepared by dissolving silver nitrate in 5 mL of bidistilled water

Choppy tongues aren t heralded and female speakers are even less so. Last weekend, I grabbed a late
dinner with co workers I m closest with: one Jamaican American, the other Korean American. Kinship
was felt with the black woman who was startled by the tonalities in my creole and her patois. To the
Asian woman, I then confirmed our grammar system doesn t use gendered titles as in Korean culture.
Daddy is used by youth and middle aged blacks to respect and address male elders. Tittuh (sister), is
how both sexes address our blood sibling or those like it. Like a great many Gullah words, tittuh is not
loaded with syllables. Geechee also contains expressions of grammatical number ( da dem boy for the
boys ) and serial verb constructions ( come carry me home is come kyah me home ) (Kelly, n.p.).
Gendered pronouns are non existent e denotes his, he, her, she and even it. Genderless as my creole is,
it must co exist with a modern society dominated by masculinity. It was quite fascinating to hear this
woman divulge Korean culture s importance of honorifics and gendered usages. Our conservation

The Evolution Of Corporate Operations
The Evolution: Hammer and Champy discuss the evolution of corporate operations. The begin when
early on when companies had more control over markets and customers, to Adam Smith s corporate
reengineering, to today s needs for continuous organizational change. The evolution of operations is
both fascinating and stagnant. Smith s idea of shifting the work to the worker versus the worker
following the work from start to finish was revolutionary. This ideology allowed companies to keep up
with the demands of customers, eliminating the ratio of one worker per product. Companies took
production and compartmentalized the process into tasks, allowing workers to excel at a particular
task of making the full product. This innovation proved to be successful and also brought new
challenges to the companies that were unforeseen. Companies found they needed a managerial
structure that allowed supervision of each tasks. Instead of one individual monitoring the tasks and
quality of multiple workers or tasks, companies adopted a leadership structure similar to Smith s
operational design. Corporations distributed responsibilities amongst multiple supervisors and leaders
to allow more quality control at the various steps along the process. As time progressed, corporations
found them needing to grow in additional functions such as accounting, development, training and etc.
Hammer and Champy use the railroad industry as an example of this reengineering. How the railroad
invented

Exegetical Summary Of The Military
Having briefly offered some exegetical notes on the original parable I will now offer a retelling of the
parable for a modern military audience. In this retelling I will attempt to capture the vividness, the
realism and the shock of the original. There was once a Marine that was sent into Iraq to fight for his
country. One day on a routine trip through occupied Bagdad, the Marine s convey fell under heavy fire
and their vehicle was destroyed. The Marine was knocked to the ground dying and unconscious while
a firefight broke out. After a while a soldier from the army came by. Thinking that he was dead, the
soldier left him and continued fighting. Some more time passed and finally a Marine came by.

EASTERN AUSTRALIA
Eastern Uplands
Proof of volcanic activity related to the break up of Australia and Antarctica is seen at Bunbury, which
is located 150km south of Perth, at the point where the basalt is of early Cretaceous, also on the
middle Jurassic Kangaroo Island. However, evidence of Cenozoic eruptions is only seen in Eastern
Highland. All through the Cenozoic, hot spot volcanic event transpire (Sutherland et al., 1985). Most
of these events follow the Miocene (Stephenson et al., 1980) with recent eruptions close to the
southern and northern margin of volcanic zone at southeast of South Australia and north Queensland
respectively.
Neotectonism is express in different ways in the eastern Uplands of north Queensland, in Atherton and
Chillagoe territory. Some are identify by magmas dating (e.g. Nulla Volcanic Region) to know
youngest ages (Nulla Volcanic Region) while others hold ropy structure (pahoehoe). In Atherton
territory, most recent Pleistocene (Eacham) basalt is openly exhibited. Other evidence of neotectonics
in Eastern Upland are seen where the Lake George and Shoalhaven reverse fault offset Palaeozoic
layers across Miocene.

The Black Arts Movement Analysis
Larry Neal made these key principles of the Black Arts Movement clear in The Black Arts Movement
where he coined the term. The basic points are that the Black Arts Movement is community based,
explores the relationship between arts and politics, refutes white societal norms by means of a true
split from the racist west (784), and is ethical from the lens of the oppressed. Basically, the movement
is meant to give a voice to those oppressed (black) people that did not have one previously.
The focus on separating from western viewpoints is displayed with language (a lot of Black Arts
poems utilize African American vernacular English and stray away from conventions), the changing
on one s last name from that of the oppressor, etc. Neal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the Civil Rights Era, the Black Power Movement articulated a radicalized Black manhood
throwing off the imagery of the emasculated and shuffling Black male dictated by racial caste...
Hypermasculinity (i.e., hyperagressiveness, hypersexuality, excessive emphasis on the appearance of
wealth, and the absence of personal accountability) as a dominant conception of manhood in poor
inner city communities, particularly among youth, is seen as a by product of the pathology and despair
of the Black underclass. (Hunter and Davis 23).
Basically, because of the way that the system is set up to harm and bring down black men, their
immediate response is to produce this shield of hyper masculinity that has become seeped in black
culture even today and led to the silencing of women. Women are left unable to express themselves
because all of the space that there was to take up when it came to black voices was used by men.
Many works depict women negatively referring to them in derogatory terms and as simply sexual
objects, but despite this, women were eventually able to advance in the movement and succeed in
ways that their male counterparts were unable to. They were able to invoke emotional responses and
illicit things from an audience that the men in the movement struggled

JAPANESE EXPANSION INTO CHINA DURING AND AFTER WW1 AND JAPANS GAINS
FROM THE LEAGUE OF NATIONS, 1914 1923
1/ Define the period of Imperialism that you will be assessing and give a clear outline of the conflict,
its causes and its particular characteristics. Japanese Imperialism first began in 1868 after the
appointment of the 16 year old boy Emperor, Meiji and the beginning of Japan s famous period of
modernisation, the Meiji Restoration. This period saw the first half of the reign of the Empire of
Japan, and significant changes to the structure, politics, economy, foreign relations and military of the
country. Additionally, The Meiji Period witnessed the end of Japanese feudalism and the beginning of
their modernisation. After the period concluded, the Japanese Empire remained prominent and did so
till 1947. Emperor Meiji s death came two years prior to the beginning of World War I which would
see significant involvement from the Japanese Empire. The war and its aftermath (1914 23) was the
first major era where the Empire of Japan was involved after the end of the Meiji era. Due to an
alliance with the British, Japan entered WW1 as enemies with Germany. As a result of this rivalry
with the Germans, Japan s first actions in the war were to invade China and capture the German
possessions in China. The Germans had control of the Kiaochow Bay and the railway lines and mining
locations of the Shandong Province. After the ignoring of an ultimatum which would see

Persuasive Essay On Women
It s no secret that worldwide women have unreasonably high expectations set for them. Yet it seems as
though for a few days of every month, that bar is lowered and we as women are allowed to kick our
feet up, complain and do practically nothing but binge eat chocolate without judgement thanks to our
on and off again friend, Mother Nature. Yes, that s right we ve become so desperate to escape from the
standards set by us from society that our periods have become our only excuse to relax and not have
everything together. However, recent advertising from the feminine hygiene company Always Infinity
is swiftly taking away our much needed break by implying women shouldn t be taken less seriously
just because of their crimson waves. Quite frankly, this isn t the case and I m tired of seeing this
agenda being pushed.
That being said, the advertisement in question was published in an Us Magazine and features a woman

robust and focused to prevent the ball from going into the goal. Despite her look of concentration, I
can tell you from my years of experience in soccer that the ball is most definitely going to graze her

Upanishads Vs Herodotus
The Katha Upanishads from ancient India and the Greek historian Herodotus, both define the belief of
the good life. Although there are similarities between the two perspectives, there are also various
differences between the Upanishads and Herodotus. Firstly, they differ in terms of origin. The
Upanishads are a representation of ancient India and Herodotus originates from Greece. It is noted,
that the Greeks originally settled in Greece due to its abundance of gold and silver. Whereas, Indians
settled in India due to the topography or the terrain of the land. India s soil was fertile and good for
growing many crops. There is already an immediate difference between the two, just based on why

The Upanishads emphasize that life is full of temptations. More importantly, that these temptations
can be controlled by discovering why they are there to begin with. While the Upanishads use
spirituality to define the good life, Herodotus believes instead that Earthly wealth defines the good
life. Meaning materials wealth, having a faithful wife, being healthy, etc. Additionally, Herodotus
mentions this belief through a series of narratives rather metaphors, that stress the point that a person s
blessings should also be a reflection of an individual s heart. However, both Herodotus and the
Upanishads include in their message the afterlife. They differ in a sense that, the Upanishads link
eternity to the Atman, while Herodotus links the fate of an individual to the afterlife. Meaning,
Herodotus expresses that the true revelation of the good life will not be unveiled until an individual as
passed away. To conclude, the two perspectives of the good life are different between the Upanishads
and Herodotus. Yet they are similar in the sense, of mentioning that the afterlife is the only way to

Flaws According To Socrates
Socrates is a special phenomenon in the history of philosophy, especially in the background, in
lifestyle, mode of living, style of thinking. Even to his death he also inspired poetry and painting. That
death does not end its life but incarnate in another life to continue to touch the human heart with
courage and the nobility of a person who doesn t subdued under any material temptation and power.
When people give poison to Socrates, He humorously asked if it was necessary to divide the divine

It was Socrates dedicated poison to himself.
When Socrates was young, he meets and argues with all kind of people. Like other educated people in
Athens, Socrates was fascinated with the study of the prevailing view of philosophical schools during
at that time. With independent thinking, he does not want to think in the traditional way. He quickly

The Importance Of Conflicts In Victorian Literature
1. Introduction The introduction is designed to make the goals of a writer clear to the reader by
outlining the general topics discussed throughout the paper, and it provides a clear and concise thesis
statement to wrap all the topics together to convey a point. The introduction is probably the most
important part of a paper because it sets up the tone and argument strategy for the rest of the paper.
My introduction in paper 1B was revised in order to provide a thesis that was less broad and that
highlighted what the multitude of unusual conflicts (1) originated from in the story of The Lifted Veil .
As suggested by the professor, I borrowed ideas voiced in my conclusion to showcase that these
conflicts stem from this mental power of Latimer s rather than some vague source. Also, I specified
that the conflict characterizes Latimer s internal struggle to resolve any confusion as to what is being
characterized. It is highly important that the reader is not confused as to what the thesis is trying to
convey because then the paper could be interpreted in multiple ways, all of which may not align with
the author s intended message.

Paul s Flattery Essay
As an orator or public speaker the level of professionalism you exuberant is vital, otherwise, you stand
to face criticism, mainly by highly esteemed philosophers and city leaders.
Anyone who was not forthcoming with their intentions and used flattery was perceived to be looking
to secure money from the hearers. Feeling strongly towards orators and their deceit, Plato criticized
them as a sort of merchant or dealer in provisions on which the soul is nourished. Plato also refused to
give the name of art to anything that is irrational and said, if you dispute my views, I am ready to give
my reasons. 2 The opinions and views set a tough stage for Paul to enter a city and begin to proclaim
the gospel of Jesus Christ. Their opinions are not the only ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Flattery came with false motives to cover up any greed. Instead, Paul came with authentic material
and because of this there was no conviction of unoriginality1. There was no need to be disingenuous
because his professionalism was directed by the Holy Spirit. If Paul used flattery it would ruin his
perception and the abilities of God. Furthermore, flattery seems neither reputable nor honorable even
when practiced gaining distinction.3 Paul came with encouragement while greeting the Thessalonians
and Corinthians. Paul told the Thessalonian church he was not there for financial gain or in vain.
There was no attempt being made to deceive, or flatter (1 Th 2:1 5).4 Orators came promising to
benefit their hearers culturally with public declarations, benefactions, and advice.1 When Paul returns
to Thessalonica he continues to address them with thanksgiving and not seeking glory for himself or
out of his work, but the glory of the Lord because they needed the reassurance that Jesus is still
coming. Paul had to clear up the confusion after the deceit of other orators which misled the

Should Cannabinoids Be Legalized Essay
Should Cannabinoid be legalized in The United States? Cannabinoid most commonly known as
Marijuana has been a controversial public debate for many years of whether it should become

Macbeth is Not Well-intentioned Essay
Macbeth is Not Well intentioned
Macbeth is a well intentioned character whose downfall is caused solely by the evil advice and
influence of other characters. To what extent do you consider this statement to be true?
In William Shakespeare s, Macbeth, Macbeth is a character whose downfall is caused by a number of
factors. Despite Macbeth being portrayed as a brave, masculine soldier, he is easily persuaded by his
wife, Lady Macbeth and the witches who deliver prophecies to Macbeth. Macbeth, while being a
victim of this influence, constantly hides his inner ill intentions and makes tragic and consequential
decisions that result in his subsequent downfall. Macbeth is not well intentioned and his downfall is

Another illustration of Macbeth s ill intent that he attempts to conceal is when he describes, I have no
spur to prick the sides of my intent, but only vaulting ambition or in other words, he cannot negate or
curb his evil intent as he is possessed, if you like, by vaulting ambition. Using the aforementioned
illustrations, we can see how Macbeth only illustrates a minimal amount of good intent and thus, one
can say that Macbeth is not a well intentioned character.
Whilst Macbeth is a strong, respectable and courageous character, he is easily influenced by other
characters such as the witches and Lady Macbeth. When the witches deliver their prophecies to
Macbeth, he misinterprets them and states, concerning the third prophecy, I will not be afraid of death
and bane till Birnam forest come to Dunsinane. The witches, whilst not helping Macbeth s cause in
anyway do not tell Macbeth to commit any crimes, as is the case when they prophesy to Macbeth,
Beware Macduff , they do not directly force Macbeth to murder Macduff s family but do strongly
influence him. Lady Macbeth attacks Macbeth s masculinity and negatively influences him in this
way, Look like the innocent flower but be the serpent under t. Despite the fact that Macbeth is strongly
influenced by these characters, they are not the sole reason for his downfall. Macbeth himself

A Prayer for Owen Meany
A Prayer for Owen Meany
In A Prayer for Owen Meany, by John Irving, Irving portrays the relationship between faith and doubt
within the struggles of Johnny, which in the end alienates him from a normal, human life because the
miraculous moments he has encountered changed him and vanishes all his doubt. However, it
demonstrates that he is living in the past, which has causes grief and anger for his lost best friend,
which has kept him from living normally.
In the beginning of the novel, it demonstrates that not only is Johnny doomed to remember Owen, but

points out to Johnny that he lives in the past and has a head for history which has affected their
relationship because Johnny was once close to Canon Campbell, but he is focusing more on the past

which affect not only his relationship with others, but him as well.
Although Johnny retreats occasionally back in the present, Johnny s life as a Canadian citizen shows a

Teenage Brain Vs Teen Brain
The brain of the average teen is quite different to that of an adult, which results in many struggles in
action and behavior that is special to teens. Most of the reasons teens act the way they do versus how
adults act can be determined by the brain and its development. These large and important differences
between the brains of adults in teens is why teens act so different from adults. The teen brain is
different from the adult brain because the teenage brain is not yet done maturing. This has been proved
in the article ( Teen Brain... ) where it says that the brain is still growing and maturing in these year
and the amygdala is what develops sooner than the prefrontal cortex ( Teen Brain.., ). So what this
means is that teens actions are guided more by the emotional, amygdala and less by the thoughtful,
and logical prefrontal cortex ( Teen Brain... ).This shows the difference between adult brain and teen
brains because one typically thinks of most adults as logical and rational people and often people think
of teens as kind of crazy or off the rails and irrational. While some of that is simple, the teens
personality, a large part is simply biology. Our bodies are meant to survive so it make sense that we
develop the reaction and fear first but unfortunately now, in modern times, we do not need those
developments first since humans are not trying to survive in a harsh, survival of the fittest centered,
environment any longer, which results in the typical teen with an

Columbus and the New World Discovery Essay
Columbus and the New World Discovery
October 12, 1992, marks the five hundredth anniversary of the most crucial of all encounters between
Europe and the Americas. In the contemporary global mood, however, the quincentennial of
Christopher Columbus s landing in the New World new, anyway, to the European intruders; old and
familiar to its inhabitants seems an occasion less for celebration than for mediation. Indeed, in some
quarters the call is for penitence and remorse.

A movement to honor the day of landfall culminated in 1934, when President Franklin D. Roosevelt
proclaimed October 12 a national holiday. The holiday is observed in most Latin American countries
as well.
The United States also staged the most memorable celebration of the quadricentennial of what it was
then widely acceptable to call the discovery of America. The World s Columbus Exposition took place
in bustling, thrusting, Midwestern Chicago, the very heart of the republic. Reconfiguring the great
explorer in images of technology and modernity, the Chicago World s Fair saluted the man then
regarded, in the words of President Benjamin Harrison, as the pioneer of progress and enlightenment .
In a book especially produced for the fair, the historian Meyer Kayserling summed up the prevailing
assessment of Columbus: In the just appreciation of his great services to mankind, all political,
religious and social differences have vanished.
How things changed in a century! Political, religious, and social differences, far from vanishing, place
Columbus today in the center of a world wide cultural civil war. The great hero of the nineteenth
century seems well on the way to becoming the great villain of the twenty first. Columbus, it is now
charged, far from being the pioneer of progress and enlightenment, was in fact the pioneer of
oppression, racism, slavery, rape, theft, vandalism, extermination, and ecological desolation.

The globalisation processes conduce to the blurring of boundaries between nations. The modern life
let us feel ourselves the global citizens, according to the concept of global citizenship. Every year,
tourists totalling two times the population of Agra pass through its gates to catch a glimpse of one of
the most magnificent and spectacular buildings in the world. Few leave disappointed after seeing this

One of the most famous and beautiful architectural monument that attracts the masses from all over

marble dome, tilted minarets and majestic tombs has become a source of wonder and delight for
millions of people.
The Taj Mahal was ordered to be constructed by the Indian ruler Shah Jahan, from materials including
lapis lazuli, jade, amethyst, etc. The Taj Mahal complex includes a main gateway, a garden, a red
sandstone mosque, and a building called the jawab. Shah Jahan had desired to build a second
mausoleum across the river, to have his own remains buried there and the two mausoleums to be
connected with bridges. Unfortunately, these plans never took shape.

common as the prices have reduced. One of the drivers behind the falling prices has been the
introduction of CMOS image sensors. Integrating a CCD sensor is very difficult with existing CMOS
technology while a CMOS sensor. On the other hand CMOS sensors can be very conveniently
integrated with the silicon substrate. The main objective of this essay is to provide information about
active pixel sensors.
Introduction
The market for image sensors are showing an enormous increase in sales and developments of digital
cameras and mobile phone cameras. Imaging sensors are mainly of two types: complementary metal
oxide semiconductor (CMOS) image sensors and charge couple device (CCD) sensors. Active pixel
sensors (APS) are the emerging sensors for the replacement of existing and widely used charged
couple device (CCD) sensors. There is a constant drive in researchers to develop APS sensors which
have more sensitivity have lower marginal noise faster operation and can capture greater detail. The
reason for using an active pixel sensor and not a passive pixel sensor is that passive pixel sensors are
very noisy as there are no

John Dingell, a member of the United States House of Representatives, served fifty nine years and
twenty one days at this position. With no term limits set for the federal legislative positions in the
United States, is this representation becoming redundant? Term limits can potentially be crucial in
political reform of the United States that would bring new perspectives to federal legislative positions,
warrant regular federal legislative turnover, and reduce incentives for wasteful election related federal
spending. Term limits can also pervert the entire understanding of what democracy is, by substituting
the people s will with term limits that may go against what the people want. United States federal

This amendment is known as the Term Limitation Amendment, in addition to limiting terms of elected
officials within the Arkansas state government, the amendment also stated that any person having
served three or more terms as a member of the United States House of Representatives from Arkansas
would no longer be eligible for re election as a United States Representative from Arkansas. The
amendment also provided that any person who has served two or more terms as a member of the
United States Senate from Arkansas would be ineligible for re election as a United States Senator from

Constitution. Using the residual clause, Arkansas argued that the states had the power to limit terms.
The Supreme Court, in a five to four decision, ruled against Arkansas. The court justified their ruling
by showing that the Constitution prohibits states from adopting Congressional qualifications in
addition to those enumerated. A state congressional term limits amendment is unconstitutional if it has

qualifications indirectly. Furthermore, ...allowing individual States to craft their own congressional

William Blake s The Tyger
William Blake s The Tyger and Tragedies William Blake wrote a set of poems in his collection Songs
of Innocence and Songs of Experience. Some of the poems in each collection were meant to be read
together to show the difference between innocence and experience. Many people question why Blake
wrote a two part series to his poems and what they could actually mean. Two specific poems, The
Lamb and The Tyger, were meant to be read together. The Lamb is a part of Blake s Songs of
Innocence and The Tyger is a part of the Songs of Experience collection. Blake went through a great
deal of tragic events in his life between the writing and publishing of Songs of Innocence and Songs
of Experience. Dreadful occasions in William Blake s life may have influenced his poem The Tyger in
the Songs of Experience collection. William Blake had some tragedies during the time period between
Songs of Innocence (1789) and Songs of Experience (1794). Grevel Lindop stated, After 1789 Blake s
work became more openly revolutionary, but also grimmer, the radiant vision of Innocence challenged
by the fire and darkness of Experience (Lindop). Lindop explains that on July 14, 1789 the French
Revolution broke out, and during the war William Blake seemed to take a more gruesome approach to
his writings. Blake published his Songs of Innocence poems in 1789 and then after those poems, he
wrote ghastly poems such as the poems in the Songs of Experience collection, The Revolutionary War,

The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button Comparison Essay
In 2008, David Fincher made a movie adapted from the short story The Curious Case Of Benjamin
Button by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Both the movie and the book follow the life of the main character
Benjamin Button. The theme of the story remains the same; man who is born old and ages backwards.
The movie differs from the short story immensely because Benjamin is introduced differently, has a
different love interest and a different child.
In my opinion the birth of Benjamin Button is the most important difference in the story.
In the short story Benjamin is born differently than in the movie. For example, in the book Benjamin
is born a talking old man, while in the movie Benjamin is first seen as a crying elderly baby. Although
it s odd for Benjamin to both start and end his journey as a baby, I feel it was a better change to the
story to have him born as a baby instead of an old man because it is more realistic. ... Show more

complete their daily activities. This stage can last up to 1.5 years. Stage six (mid stage), shows severe
cognitive decline as incontinence becomes a problem and the ability to speak declines. This stage can

Black Men And Public Spaces Analysis
Staples, Black Men and Public Spaces, and Ivan s, Get a Knife Get a Dog but Get Rid of Guns, are
two different stories who barely share any of the same information except for people being in harm.
Staple s story about his life experiences of being a man who is feared when walking into a jewelry

safety. From the two stories, I pulled out one thing in my mind that could pull them together as far as
their topics go. Ivan says that if you have a knife, you need to be near the person to be able to stab
them. Staples says that being seen as dangerous can be a hazard for him. I view this as if someone
were to have a gun, and Staples were to turn a corner, would they shoot him out of fear? If they had a
knife, they would only being able to stab him if Staples were actually up close to them causing harm.
Will having knives help people like Staples not to be harmed just because someone thought he looked
harmful? In Black Men and Public Spaces, I think Staples is talking to the people who fear black men,
especially in public spaces. When walking down a road at night, it is easy to be afraid of the black
man walking your way, and Staples is trying to explain that they are not all dangerous. I also think that
Staples is talking to other men who can relate to his stories. I feel he is sharing his so that they know

Crowdsourcing is a new tool that has gradually modified and replaced some ineffective original ways.
Based on the research and development on crowdsourcing, more and more new applications appear.
This paper singled out two distinctive crowdsourcing applications from numbers of emerging
applications, idea generation and Microtasking. Two examples, Amazon Mechanical Turk and Idea

By completing or participating these tasks, individuals could get jobs, financial rewards, knowledge or

As mentioned in many literature, crowdsourcing can be used in many approaches, such as idea
generation. Creation, development and idea exchanges are very abstracted; idea generation includes
the construction of ideas, innovative ideas, development process and implementation the idea into
reality. There are two ways of Idea generation through crowdsourcing, idea competition and ideation
with collective intelligence (Moketer Hossain). Idea competition is company asks many people to
contribute new ideas for the company through crowdsourcing, company will choose the best one and
reward to the person. Ideation with collective intelligence refers to ideation with continuous
interactions between firms and crowds. Like Poetz and Schreier (2012) said, idea come from crowds
sometimes far beyond the company can think. Also as Surowiecki (2005) mentioned, the collective
efforts from a number of innovative individuals often better than rely on some experts.
Microtasking is a process that split a large task into many small tasks and publishes on the Internet.

Mixture Of Unidentified Organic Compounds Lab Report
A couple of mixtures of unidentified organic compounds (a mixture of two liquids and another
mixture of two solid compounds) were obtained, and the compounds of each mixture were then
separated, isolated, and purified. The compounds of the liquid liquid mixture were isolated by simple
distillation, and the compounds in the mixture of solids were extracted by liquid liquid extraction, and
later purified through recrystallization. Physical properties such as boiling points, melting points, and
densities were used to identify each isolated compound. After analysis, the first liquid was identified
by a boiling range of 81.0°C 81.3°C and a density of 0.7882g/mL, and the second liquid was
identified by a boiling range of 91.7°C 91.9°C and a density of 0.8578 g/mL. The crude solid products
were purified and recrystallized, providing a white crystalline solid (MP = 35.2 37.8 °C) in 46.9%
yield, and a white powdery solid (MP = 121.9 122.1 °C) in 2.40% yield.
Introduction:
SIPCAn (Separation, Isolation, Purification, Characterization, and Analysis) are necessary procedures
in any chemical lab. Not only do chemists perform these SIPCAn procedures while conducting
experiments and running reactions; they are used in many industrial applications every day to purify
small impurities, such as in food processing, purifying solvents and liquid reaction products in
chemical experiments, and widely in the oil and petroleum industry. There are a number of ways to go

Hansberry is no exception to the multitude of mothers that would sacrifice everything for their child.
Even in the midst of gaining $10,000 from which Mama can spend however she d like she sees her
family begin to fall apart before her and puts them first when spending any of the money. Mama acts
as a leader of the household and acts with only their well being in mind; she does this by buying a
house for the family, giving the remaining money to her son Walter after buying the house, and
allowing Beneatha to see Asagai instead of George. Mama cares ... Show more content on

Instead, Mama tells her daughter that she can see whoever she wants. Mama makes this choice based
on Beneatha s joy rather than financial gain. Although Mama was always questionable of why
Beneatha wouldn t want to be seeing a man such as George she forgets all about her thoughts of this
being strange as soon as Beneatha tells Mama that he s just not the one. This thinking Mama once had
seemed to disappear in an instant in the conversation her and Beneatha have about her wanting to

  • 4. Essay on Romance de la Luna, Luna Federico Garcia Lorca s Romance de La Luna, Luna is a Spanish poem that tells the story of a young gypsy boy and the moon. His love and infatuation with the moon leads to his death. This poem not only tells the story of this young child s demise, but also shows the effects when someone is lured in by an appealing temptation. The poem uses many literary devices to enhance the meaning the words provide. The poem starts at the beginning of the story as the moon comes to visit the forge. The moon is said to be wearing her skirt of white, fragrant flowers (Lorca 2) as its bright light penetrates the scene. The poem states the young boy watches her, watches. / The young boy is watching her (3 4). The repetition of the phrase emphasizes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The moon has now become ominous as it forewarns of the child s death. Spanish culture is once again brought into the poem as the moon becomes deathly. The moon has always been a figure of death in Spanish history and continues to be represented in that matter by this poem. The moon s sensual appeal balances its foreboding nature. The boy is enticed by the mystery of the moon and does not heed her warning. Once again the boy warns the moon, flee, moon, moon, moon (17), as he shows his continued persistence to save the moon he has been draw into. He warns that the gypsies are coming, but the moon will not leave its dance. The moon says, young boy, leave me, don t step on / my starched whiteness (19 20). This shows her lack of concern for the boy, which exemplifies her task to only attract him to her. Her starched whiteness once again contradicts her true mission to lead him to his demise. Beating the drum of the plain (22) stresses the intensity of the moment leading up to the point that within the forge the young man has closed eyes (23). The climax of the story has just occurred, as the child death has taken place. The Spanish belief that the moon is a bad omen has remained true with the little boy s eyes closed, signifying his death. The gypsies return and the diction used to describe them emphasizes their mystery and flow. How the night bird sings (29) implies the bird is singing a song to mourn the death of the child. It then says across the sky moves ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The begin when early on when companies had more control over markets and customers, to Adam Smith s corporate reengineering, to today s needs for continuous organizational change. The evolution of operations is both fascinating and stagnant. Smith s idea of shifting the work to the worker versus the worker following the work from start to finish was revolutionary. This ideology allowed companies to keep up with the demands of customers, eliminating the ratio of one worker per product. Companies took production and compartmentalized the process into tasks, allowing workers to excel at a particular task of making the full product. This innovation proved to be successful and also brought new challenges to the companies that were unforeseen. Companies found they needed a managerial structure that allowed supervision of each tasks. Instead of one individual monitoring the tasks and quality of multiple workers or tasks, companies adopted a leadership structure similar to Smith s operational design. Corporations distributed responsibilities amongst multiple supervisors and leaders to allow more quality control at the various steps along the process. As time progressed, corporations found them needing to grow in additional functions such as accounting, development, training and etc. Hammer and Champy use the railroad industry as an example of this reengineering. • 21. The Importance Of Conflicts In Victorian Literature 1. Introduction The introduction is designed to make the goals of a writer clear to the reader by outlining the general topics discussed throughout the paper, and it provides a clear and concise thesis statement to wrap all the topics together to convey a point. The introduction is probably the most important part of a paper because it sets up the tone and argument strategy for the rest of the paper. My introduction in paper 1B was revised in order to provide a thesis that was less broad and that highlighted what the multitude of unusual conflicts (1) originated from in the story of The Lifted Veil . As suggested by the professor, I borrowed ideas voiced in my conclusion to showcase that these conflicts stem from this mental power of Latimer s rather than some vague source. Also, I specified that the conflict characterizes Latimer s internal struggle to resolve any confusion as to what is being characterized. It is highly important that the reader is not confused as to what the thesis is trying to convey because then the paper could be interpreted in multiple ways, all of which may not align with the author s intended message. In the writing of paper 3A, I made sure to make my introduction specific and clear. First I started broadly discussing Victorian writing as a whole, but I quickly narrowed down to the topic of obsessively desiring a connection with a deceased loved one in order to prepare the reader for the upcoming thesis statement. The witches, whilst not helping Macbeth s cause in anyway do not tell Macbeth to commit any crimes, as is the case when they prophesy to Macbeth, Beware Macduff , they do not directly force Macbeth to murder Macduff s family but do strongly influence him. This presents him from a living a normal life because he is focusing on the negative aspects of the miraculous moment he encounters; although it is tragic, Johnny tries to prevent God s plan from happening to Owen. Later, he realizes that he could not and God is unstoppable. Canon Campbell points out to Johnny that he lives in the past and has a head for history which has affected their relationship because Johnny was once close to Canon Campbell, but he is focusing more on the past and ignoring the present (203). This demonstrates that Johnny is retreating into his past memories which affect not only his relationship with others, but him as well. Although Johnny retreats occasionally back in the present, Johnny s life as a Canadian citizen shows a hint of ambiguity in terms of his emotional stability. His feelings of bitterness and hatred show signs of depression which ties into his hallucination of Owen in his grandmother s basement. Johnny feels a small, strong hand pull him forward from where he stands and hears Owen s voice say DON T BE AFRAID because NOTHING BAD IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO him (517). His hallucination of Owen plays a role in his loss of doubt whereas he sees this also as a miracle. • 28. Teenage Brain Vs Teen Brain The brain of the average teen is quite different to that of an adult, which results in many struggles in action and behavior that is special to teens. Most of the reasons teens act the way they do versus how adults act can be determined by the brain and its development. These large and important differences between the brains of adults in teens is why teens act so different from adults. The teen brain is different from the adult brain because the teenage brain is not yet done maturing. This has been proved in the article ( Teen Brain... ) where it says that the brain is still growing and maturing in these year and the amygdala is what develops sooner than the prefrontal cortex ( Teen Brain.., ). So what this means is that teens actions are guided more by the emotional, amygdala and less by the thoughtful, and logical prefrontal cortex ( Teen Brain... ).This shows the difference between adult brain and teen brains because one typically thinks of most adults as logical and rational people and often people think of teens as kind of crazy or off the rails and irrational. While some of that is simple, the teens personality, a large part is simply biology. Our bodies are meant to survive so it make sense that we develop the reaction and fear first but unfortunately now, in modern times, we do not need those developments first since humans are not trying to survive in a harsh, survival of the fittest centered, environment any longer, which results in the typical teen with an ... Indeed, in some quarters the call is for penitence and remorse. One of the drivers behind the falling prices has been the introduction of CMOS image sensors. Integrating a CCD sensor is very difficult with existing CMOS technology while a CMOS sensor. On the other hand CMOS sensors can be very conveniently integrated with the silicon substrate. The main objective of this essay is to provide information about active pixel sensors. Introduction The market for image sensors are showing an enormous increase in sales and developments of digital cameras and mobile phone cameras. Imaging sensors are mainly of two types: complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) image sensors and charge couple device (CCD) sensors. Active pixel sensors (APS) are the emerging sensors for the replacement of existing and widely used charged couple device (CCD) sensors. There is a constant drive in researchers to develop APS sensors which have more sensitivity have lower marginal noise faster operation and can capture greater detail. With no term limits set for the federal legislative positions in the United States, is this representation becoming redundant? Term limits can potentially be crucial in political reform of the United States that would bring new perspectives to federal legislative positions, warrant regular federal legislative turnover, and reduce incentives for wasteful election related federal spending. Some of the poems in each collection were meant to be read together to show the difference between innocence and experience. Many people question why Blake wrote a two part series to his poems and what they could actually mean. Two specific poems, The Lamb and The Tyger, were meant to be read together. The Lamb is a part of Blake s Songs of Innocence and The Tyger is a part of the Songs of Experience collection. Blake went through a great deal of tragic events in his life between the writing and publishing of Songs of Innocence and Songs of Experience. Dreadful occasions in William Blake s life may have influenced his poem The Tyger in the Songs of Experience collection. William Blake had some tragedies during the time period between Songs of Innocence (1789) and Songs of Experience (1794). Grevel Lindop stated, After 1789 Blake s work became more openly revolutionary, but also grimmer, the radiant vision of Innocence challenged by the fire and darkness of Experience (Lindop). Lindop explains that on July 14, 1789 the French Revolution broke out, and during the war William Blake seemed to take a more gruesome approach to his writings. Both the movie and the book follow the life of the main character Benjamin Button. The theme of the story remains the same; man who is born old and ages backwards. The movie differs from the short story immensely because Benjamin is introduced differently, has a different love interest and a different child. In my opinion the birth of Benjamin Button is the most important difference in the story. In the short story Benjamin is born differently than in the movie. For example, in the book Benjamin is born a talking old man, while in the movie Benjamin is first seen as a crying elderly baby. Stage seven (late stage), shows very severe cognitive decline as the ability to speak and communicate are completely lost. The patients often lose psychomotor skills and this can average about 2.5 years. Alzheimer s disease (AD) is the most common type of dementia, and accounts for more than half of the dementia cases. The disease was named after German psychiatrist and neuropathologist Alois Alzheimer in 1906. Staple s story about his life experiences of being a man who is feared when walking into a jewelry store seemed different from a woman trying to get pro gun people to switch to knives instead for their safety. From the two stories, I pulled out one thing in my mind that could pull them together as far as their topics go. Ivan says that if you have a knife, you need to be near the person to be able to stab them. Staples says that being seen as dangerous can be a hazard for him. I view this as if someone were to have a gun, and Staples were to turn a corner, would they shoot him out of fear?
