The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Digital Radiography
Digital radiography (DR) is a revolutionary invention in radiography. With this technology, no cassette
is needed for an x ray examination meaning that there is no need to reload films or to erase imaging
plate in every examination. This is a distinctive feature which conventional radiography and computed
radiography (CR) do not have. DR was first introduced in 1996 (Carroll, 2011). Miniature electronic x
ray detectors are used as the image receptor. The detectors enable the direct capture of the x ray image
without conversion steps (like the conversion of x ray photos into light photons). This technology is
widely used nowadays since it has many advantages and it brings much convenience to radiographers.
One of the main advantages of DR is image post processing in which the quality of the film (in terms
of contrast and brightness, etc.) can be adjusted to reach the desired standard. Therefore, the tolerance
of the deviation of the exposure factors is greater and the need of repeating the examination is greatly
reduced so the patient dose is reduced. This follows the as low as reasonably achievable principle for
radiation protection and this also improve the final image quality simultaneously. Besides, many DR
systems were installed with preset for numerous anatomical studies which can improve the post
processing. Like CR, the images produced are in digital format so this provides convenience for
radiographers to store and retrieve the image easily. DR is also capable to work with PACS ... Show

The Educational Value of Exhibitions in Musuems
Definition of exhibition
Before proceeding to the discussion of relationship between exhibition, communication and education,
the meaning of the term should be clarified first. The term exhibition implies several meanings owing
to a movement within different context and style of each professional realm. As the definition shows
in oxford dictionary, the word exhibition can be defined as a public display of works of art or items of
interest, held in an art gallery or museum or at a trade fair , and it is also refer to synonyms display ,
show . Similarly, here we can further defined the display as a method of communication and scenario
that convey diverse content to the audience in certain period or a specific space with the purpose of
information transmitting, promotion, education and enlightenment (Huang and Wu:1998, p.8).
Although there is subtle difference of definition and the representative word of exhibition, it is
noteworthy that we can hardly investigate the display apart from media, message, and audience.
Exhibition, communication, and knowledge shaping.
When it comes to the exhibition in museums, there is increasing discussion of museum as dialogue
environment and its learning impacts on audience. Modern museums have gradually transferred their
emphasis from collection, conservation and research to display and education. Besides the traditional
functions of museum, 吉村典夫( 1979: 104 107) maintains that organisation is encouraged to develop
responsibilities

Petrarch and Wyatt Compared Essay
In the world of poetry, imitation occurs at every turn. Many poets will take an original form of poetry
and copy the style. This can be said about Sir Thomas Wyatt who attempts to mimic Petrarch s form;
when the symbols, tone, images, rhyme, and setting in Wyatt s poem Whoso list to hunt are compared
to Petrarch s Rime 190 it becomes apparent that he failed to embody the essence of Petrarch in his
writing. Symbolism plays a large role in most poems. A pure white doe in an emerald glade/Appeared
to me, with two antlers of gold (Petrarch lines 1 2) is a perfect example of symbolism is poetry.
Petrarch is not actually talking about a white deer with golden antlers, he s talking about a beautiful
woman with golden hair. Wyatt also uses ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I may no more shows Wyatt s sexual desire for this woman and his disappointment in her
unavailability to him. Petrarch s woman is a pure and beautiful woman while Wyatt s is a sexy, impure
temptress. Another aspect Wyatt did not compare to Petrarch is visual imagery. Petrarch has a very
beautiful way of using visual images which he proves with the lines one through four: A snow white
doe in an emerald glade/To me appeared, with antlers soft of gold,/And leapt two streams, under a
laurel s shade,/Near sunrise, in the winter s bitter cold. (Petrarch lines 1 4). The closest visual image in
Wyatt s version is And graven in diamonds in letters plain (Wyatt line 11) which is still very far away
from being good visual imagery. Rhyme is a defining point of Petrarch s poetry with a rhyme scheme
of abba abba cde cde. Wyatt kept the rhyme scheme of the octave but changed the sestet to cdd cee.
There is written, her fair neck round about,/Noli me tangere, for Caesar s I am,/And wild to hold,
though I seem tame. (Wyatt line 12 14) is an example of the changed rhyme scheme. Wyatt also
resorted to eye rhyme which is also shown in the quotation for the words am and tame. Petrarch s
poems held firm to the original rhyme scheme of abba abba cde cde and each rhyme is a complete
rhyme rather than Wyatt s lazy eye rhyming. Petrarch s rhyme

Cobain And Nirvana
Kurt Cobain and Nirvana Nirvana was a band started by Kurt Cobain and Krist Novoselic in the early
90 s. They d released several albums before April 5, 1994, when Kurt Cobain supposedly took his own
life. Nirvana was very popular during its time, but of course, Kurt had a life before he met Krist and
before Nirvana was born. There was also a lot the band had done together before the date of April 5,
when Nirvana had to end. Kurt Cobain did a lot before he started Nirvana. As a child, Kurt Cobain
loved art and music. He showed talent in both areas. He taught himself to play piano and he played
guitar, also little league baseball. (Kurt Cobain biography.com) Also said by Rolling Stone, He came
from a musical family. . . At four, Cobain began singing and playing piano, and gravitated to the music
of bands ranging from the Beatles to the Ramones. When Kurt was fourteen, he got his first guitar and
learned to play. He dropped out of high school his senior year due to bullying, and then he started
hanging around local band rehearsals.

Nirvana was ended on April 5, 1994, when Kurt Cobain allegedly took his own life. On April 8,
Cobain s body was found with a gunshot wound in his head. Not everybody believes it was suicide
though, some believe Courtney Love, his own wife, hired someone to kill him for her, and made it
look as if it were a suicide. Although it does not matter now. Unfortunately Nirvana is no longer a
band and there is no way to undo that, but the former members of Nirvana went on and continued
making music, it was Nirvana s passion. Thankfully, Cobain s music is still remembered and loved,
and it will be remembered and loved from the time it was number one. Kurt Cobain left a his legacy

The Darkness Of The Night
The slightly built woman dreaded the advancing darkness of the night as she stood solemnly by the
window, staring, but not actually seeing the rolling green hills of the Appalachian Mountains. Their
peaks dominated the landscape, rising high above the treetops. How she would love to escape over
their crests never to return.
In the distance, an encroaching curtain of gloom had begun to fall across the countryside. Lightning
bolts flashed brilliantly across the sky briefly brightening the room, as the loud rumble of thunder
shook the windows.
The damp air from the approaching rain blew through the open window and hung in the room with
humid, oppressive tension, bringing the potential for chaos along with a cleansing relief from the
relentless summer heat.
Worry and doubt cast a burden on her heart as the setting sun slowly seeped into the earth, drawing her
ever closer to despair.
Uneasy fingers ruffled through light brown hair, which flowed in long waves to her waist. Beautiful,
tear filled violet eyes reflected an intensity that was rare in someone so young.
One hand reached up hastily wiping a tear from her rosy cheek where a smattering of faint freckles ran
randomly across the bridge of her nose.
The bleakness of the threatening thunderclouds, chasing across the evening sky, matched the depth of
her encompassing depression.
It was Friday, and the coal miners would be converging on the local merchants to spend the small
amount of cash they received each week. The

shown through when he continues to fight Grendel despite defeat, truth is shown when he tells
Grendel why he is fighting, discipline is shown when he asks Grendel to kill him, and perseverance is
shown when Unferth refuses to give up on killing Grendel. Unferth s shows much more courage than

this as pathetic shown when he says He lives on, bitter, feebly challenging my midnight raids

Research has provided a different view on the tall tale of the Kappa, and provided numerous reasons

the money to go eat a healthy breakfast each day.

A General Model Of Colonialism And Underdevelopment
It is very much clear that a general model of colonialism and underdevelopment cannot explain the
variations in India s growth trend during the colonial period from 1863 to 1947. However, there are
three structural features that define the entire colonial period. Structural features which include the
importance of natural resources and labour to economics growth and welfare.Land intensive
agriculture, Labour intensive handicrafts, and modern industry in natural resources, were the main
livelihoods throughout this period and beyond. Global features which saw a more open Indian
economy and the fact that India took part in the first globalisation of the 19th century, which saw a
rapid integration of world economy in terms of commodity trade, capital flows, and labour migration.
Due to the opening of Suez canal in 1867 India also witnessed the revolution in transport and
communication, Railways and telegraph which were introduced in this phase. There were Colonial
features suggesting India was a colony is evident from the large remittances that government of India
paid to the government in Britain. Thus, development in India was not resultant of a single factor but
can be summed as the culmination of various factors which shaped, in mutual interaction, the
economic growth in the region.
Economic historians divide the period into two parts pre war: from 1867 to 1920 5 and interwar: 1920
5 to 1947, moreover, they define National income in the periods as the following expression:

Persuasive Essay On Bigfoot
Bigfoot (or Sasquatch ) is a tall, dark haired cryptid humanoid that has become a mystery to the
American people. Unfortunately, many believe that the furry beast is simply a hoax, while others
know what they saw in the mysterious forest. Based on countless discoveries, Bigfoot has existed at
some point. Considering the proof presented by dedicated Bigfoot scientists and fans, totally
debunking the controversial topic of Bigfoot would seem ignorant. Perhaps people are not digging
deep enough to find the creature. The quest began when Bigfoot was captured on film for the first time
by Roger Patterson and Bob Gimlin. In the year of 1967, the two men were out in a remote
mountainous location in Northern California. After Patterson heard about the tracks found near Bluff
Creek, he was determined to make a documentary about the mysteries of the Sasquatch. Buoyant, he
rented a 16mm movie camera and went to the area in question with his comrade, Bob Gimlin. He
caught the beast on camera casually strolling through an open clearing, staring at Patterson filming
while continuing to walk. The film became known as the Patterson Gimlin film. According to Animal
Planet, The Patterson Gimlin film is widely regarded as one of the strongest pieces of evidence for the
existence of Sasquatches, ( The Patterson Gimlin footage ).

Strengths And Weaknesses Of Chipotle
Chipotle ventured into a new territory when it was created, as it had an innovative vision for fast
casual restaurants. By using fresh and quality ingredients, Chipotle raised the bar in their segment.
The service line where customers could see their order being prepared enhanced the experience of
Chipotle. Consumers who were used to eating at fast casual restaurants where the food was frozen and
made out of sight were able to savor the uniqueness of Chipotle. These differences helped Chipotle
become successful. However, as competitors copy the traits that make Chipotle unique, Chipotle must
adapt and overcome in order to remain a profitable company. Chipotle saw an opportunity in the fast
casual restaurant industry and launched an innovative concept. It believes that fresh and quality
ingredients are key and that customers are willing to pay more for such ingredients. To ensure such
ingredients, Chipotle uses a large amount of organic food in their restaurants. This not only creates
fresher and healthier food options for consumers, but also assists local farms that supply the organic
food. Not only does Chipotle use organic food, but it uses produce that is in season. This reduces the
costs of transporting produce and ensures that the ingredients are fresh. While competitors attempt to
replicate the menu, style, and flavors of Chipotle, they do not have the resources to use organic
ingredients as efficiently as Chipotle does. This is one strength of

with a rally at the National Theatre and broadcast live on major media running for eight months.
According to Thebe Ikalafeng, Brand Leadership s founder who led the campaign strategy and project,
Naturally we are excited that Brand Leadership was a part of a mutually satisfactory journey with the
NDC in Africa s foremost model of democracy. The campaign, as Barack Obama s campaign
demonstrated, clearly heralded the new era of political branding with its roots firmly in marketing,
branding and new media. It is always gratifying when one can show a causal effect between a
campaign and the results. We, as does the NDC, have no doubt, the clear, consistent and disciplined
campaign run by the NDC and its aligned activation contributed to victory in a very close but
nonetheless exciting and successful election .
For Brand Leadership, the success of the election in Ghana is a huge credential that will establish the
agency as a leading force in the use of marketing and brand strategy to drive political communication.
The agency can celebrate this achievement because the election broke all records in African politics

The factors, issues, and occurrences that are found in a company s industry and competitive
environment should be considered the strongest of the external threats. However, the factors and
forces in a company s macro environment having the biggest strategy shaping impact typically pertain
to the company s immediate industry and competitive environment the actions of rivals firms, buyer
behavior, supplier related conditions, and so on (Thompson, et al., 2010, p. 57). Environmental
scanning is very important to the health and success of a business. This is especially true of SRI .
Since SRI is dealing a lot with the foreclosure and REO markets, environmental scanning will be
needed to keep the company abreast of constant and volatile changes in this market. SRI will
constantly need to use this process to be able to keep up with changes in different variations in their
macro environment. Babatunde, amp; Adebisi states that: Environmental scanning is the process of
dealing with the measurement, projection and evaluation of changes in the different environment
variables (Oladele, 2006). Most of the organization[s] today are developing different types of
strategies that will sustain them in their business environment, and this can only be achieved through
the analysis of the environment.(Opportunity and Threats). Oladele (2006) stated some importance to

Essay on Class, Socialization, and Politics
Elections are at the core of the American political system. They are the way we choose our
government, the source of government authority, and a means by which the people can influence
public policy. For most Americans, voting is the only form of political participation. Essential
questions to ask concerning these issues are: Who votes and why? What influences people to become
voters? And what influences how they vote? It is important to approach these issues from a
sociological standpoint addressing such matters as socialization and social stratification.
Socialization is a gradual process that takes place as we grow up. It is the process that aids in

(Introduction to Sociology Pg. 222) Within this class system are three broad overlapping categories: a
working class, a middle class, and an upper class. People are placed within these categories based on
their occupation, income, and wealth. The working class receives the lowest income and fills blue
collar jobs in factories and farms, as well as white collar positions like clerical and secretarial jobs in
offices. The middle class consists of professionals like teachers, engineers, small business people, and
skilled workers. The upper class, often called the elite or ruling class is composed of those who run
our major economic and political institutions and receive the highest earnings for doing so. Class as
reflected in education, income, and occupation, does influence people s attitudes on a variety of issues.
People in the working class tend to be liberal in wanting greater economic equality and more
programs dealing with social welfare. This liberalism on economic issues contrasts strongly with their
ideas on civil liberties. Members of the middle class tend to be more conservative in their economic
views and more liberal on issues such as free speech and respect for civil rights. Therefore, class
attitudes on political questions are both liberal and conservative. The problem with figuring out how
these various characteristics that divide the population influences a person s political behavior is that

How Does Darcy Mature
One of the hardest things to understand as you mature is that you will be wrong a lot. What is even
harder, though, is admitting to yourself that you are incorrect, and intentionally changing yourself
based on new information. The novel Pride and Prejudice revolves around Elizabeth Bennet and her
interactions with Mr. Darcy, a man she originally takes to be rude and cold, but later realizes is
generous and well mannered. This realization is part of her coming into maturity. Though she appears
as twenty one in the novel, she still only truly comes into womanhood in the moment she admits she
was wrong about Mr. Darcy after reading his explanatory letter. More than half of the novel shows
Elizabeth hating the man she met at a Netherfield ball.

Assisted Suicide Debate Analysis
As the political debates are in full action, I am certainly aware of the discussion of controversial
topics. Although assisted suicide is not among the topics, however I do understand the difficulties of
addressing sensitive topics. The following assignment is a reflection on Helping a Suicide When the
End Isn t Near. First, I ll introduce the debaters as well as their background and position on this
controversial topic. Next, I will address my view and rationale pertaining to the topic.
An opinionated article, Helping a Suicide When the End Isn t Near, published by the New York Times
includes segments from both Mark Kleiman and Ira Byock who share their opinions on whether or not
assisted suicide should be legal in the United States. Kleiman, who insist that laws prohibiting assisted
suicide must be erased, is a professor of public policy at New York University s Marron Institute of
Urban Management, whereas Byock, who is completely opposed to any law change, is a professor of
medicine at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth College. Kleiman and Byock have
compelling, but opposing viewpoints on this controversial subject, and each rule the other to be highly
unethical.

however, if put on a spectrum, I lean more towards the support of assisted suicide. I believe if the
patient is competent as well as the one who has requested to take this course of action, it certainly can
be justified. In addition, I personally believe in quality of life, not longevity. There are many incurable

The Characteristics Of A Kangaroo
Kangaroo How can a kangaroo hop up to speeds of 35 miles per hour? How dangerous can they
actually be? In order to understand the significance of a kangaroo, one must understand their daily
life, the structure of their body, and their effect on people and the environment. An example of God s
great creativity is the kangaroo s body structure. It has functions that are only usually seen in this
animal. The reason a kangaroo can hop up to 30 35 miles per hour is done by its lower half. A
kangaroo has legs like no other animal; their legs are very compelling. These energetic legs have
tendons in them that act like a rubber band. They are elastic, which allows them to do movements that
are unusual to other animals such as hop side to side, quickly hop, and jump high. Along with these
mighty legs, their big feet allow them to spring up into the air at heights of five to six feet! Not only
do the feet help them jump, they also aid in keeping balance since the feet are so large and have four
toes. On the other hand the upper half of the kangaroo is just as important as or more important than
the lower half. The very sharp claws are used to break grass and other plants off so they can eat it and
in some cases they can be used to defend the kangaroo from predators. They chew their food with very
powerful jaws and teeth. Since they mainly eat grass, their teeth last a long time. The size of the ear on
a kangaroo is large and there straight up. This gives the kangaroo the ability

Black Mirror Literary Devices
In dystopian literature, there are many universal storytelling elements and literary devices that builds
onto the theme. This is apparent in Charlie Brooker s TV show Black Mirror s Nosedive, where your
social media score determines your life. You re rated out of 5 stars, the higher the rating you have the
more successful you are. The lower your rating the less unsuccessful you are. Black Mirror uses
universal storytelling elements such as social cohesion. Black Mirror also uses literary devices such as
verbal irony, symbolism, and parable.
Social Cohesion is one way that the TV show Black Mirror builds the theme of wanting to feel
accepted and the fear of loneliness. In Black Mirror s episode Nosedive Everyone s goal is to fake it
until they make it. Social class is based on social media ranking, 5 stars. The closer to 5 you are the
more popular and successful you are. The closer you are to 1 no one wants to talk to you and does
everything they can to avoid you. You aren t successful. you can t own a nice car or house. Your score
determines your life and the way people treat you. For example, Lacie is one of the main characters in
the episode of Black Mirror, Nosedive. To become more successful and be able to get a better house
she must improve her rating. Naomi is another main character that used to be Lacie s best friend, when
they were little. Naomi is very popular, and happens to be getting married. Lacie posts a picture on

The internal scanning and strategy formulation of Electrolux Internal scanning and strategy

The towers of overhead power transmission lines have a negative impact from the aesthetic

lines which have a benefits not only for the visual perspective but also for safety purpose especially
for crowded cities. For agricultural land, when planting the trees farmer should keep a distance from
high voltage transmission lines and plant trees which does not grow for high distance. The advantages
of using underground power transmission lines over the overhead lines is that they do not shade the

but in coastal area it is dangerous to be used because they are susceptible to flooding therefore in this

What is the line between being civilized and tamed, against acting wild and savage? What separates
human intellect against animalistic nature? Humans have animalistic instincts, yet we fear it often
choosing to hide it calling it taboo or deeming it inappropriate to a civilized society. Famed
Psychologist Sigmund Freud once stated, The pleasure of satisfying a savage instinct, undomesticated
by the ego, is incomparably much more intense than the one of satisfying a tamed instinct (Freud, ?)
What Freud is saying is that satisfying a tamed instinct is artificial, compared to satisfying something
that is engrained in our animal nature. Animal Nature connects itself to the short story The Company

The story is interesting by raising questions about what the savage instincts represents to a community
that is in the edge of civilization, in a location where nature and society clash. The story in short
represents Sigmund Freud s clash of human nature and the animal state (Id), the cultured state (ego)
and the self state (superego) and the representation of humanity in a state where there is no discernible
difference between humans and beasts. In the end the humans have the potential to be as savage as the
wolves in the right circumstances.
The circumstances that created this nature of humans as wolves are influenced partly by the location
in which the story takes place, the forest. Like the Original Red Riding Hood story the woods are as
ominous and threatening to the young female protagonist. Unlike Red Riding Hood though, the story
by Angela Carter is much more specific on the wolves and what they represent as symbols of human
barbarity. In the story, it is stated that, It is winter and cold weather. In this region of mountain and
forest, there is now nothing for the wolves to eat. (Carter,1085). The wolves or savagery is created
through condition, the influence of the location makes human harder both physically and mentally,

The Shift Of Perfume
Analysis of the shifts of Grenouille in Patrick Süskind s Perfume
In Perfume, Patrick Süskind writes about the life of an extraordinary boy named Grenouille in 18th
century France. The author presents the shifts of existential thinking of his main character throughout
the book. The main purpose of living for Grenouille mirrors that of every other human being to
discover the world, with his exception of seeking only the scenting part of it. The series of events in
the boy s life develop his character and the various goals he strives for: survival, odor education,
perfume making, peace, own smell, smell extraction, and to die.
Grenouille s birth is the start of his first ordeal. In order to survive, his first, primal instinct tells him to
make a cry, not for sympathy and love, but cry for a life. Suskind uses a contrast to show how the
neatly born baby brings himself to people s attention and his mother to the gallow (21). The miserable
birth or the option of a modest exit do not affected the nearly mature decision of Grenouille to grab the
opportunity of existing, sparing the world a great deal of mischief (21). His tenacious character is
shown from his ability to take all of the power of his nurturer. He ... Show more content on

The Book of Sports also uncovered another concern of the Protestants which had been silently heating

Although religious control was maintained, it caused James to become somewhat lazy in terms of

A Summary On The Day Of Milan
yer English 101 Unity High School Here I was, asleep on the plane dreaming of my time in Italy, a
place that once used to be apart of my imagination. I dreamt of Milan and the fashion trends that I ll
never quite understand, of Venice and the anxiety filled gondola ride through the city s canals, of
Florence and the hike up the Pre Apennine Mountains, and of Rome with its historical sites that most
will only see in textbooks. Walking through the airport to the bus, I could already tell that Milan was a
place that most of us felt like we didn t belong. The short bus ride was full of twists and turns and
hearing our tour guide, Elvira, tell us that we ll soon learn how to drive like Italians. After reaching
Milan and walking through the city in shorts and plain shirts, we had never felt so underdressed in
such a casual situation. Women were touring the city square, their outfits congested with too many

the new merchandise through the window front. I was thankful to have finally found what felt like a
safe environment after getting back on the bus; the awkward feeling of thinking that I stuck out like a
sore thumb was washed away. The three hour long bus ride from Milan to

REFLECTION ON THE LEARNING CONTRACT.
This is a reflective essay based on my experience of participating in delivery of anaesthetic and
surgical care to a patient undergoing abdominal hysterectomy under general and regional anaesthesia.
I will be describing the process involved, my participation and contributions, what I learnt during the
experience and how this gained knowledge will improve my professional competency.
Reflection is a way in which health professionals can bring theory into practice because ... Show more

This feature also enables the use of this technique into the postoperative period for analgesia, using
lower concentrations of local anaesthetic drugs or in combination with different agents.
Also I have a better understanding of the anatomy of the Epidural space, loss of resistance Arachnoid
space, and Cerebrospinal fluid.
I have also learnt about the potential complications of epidural e .g Hypotension, Inadvertent high
epidural block, inadvertent high epidural block, Local anaesthetic toxicity, Total spinal, Accidental
dural puncture (Visser, 2001).
Learning about the potential complications of epidural reinforced my knowledge in being able to
choose the right anaesthetic monitoring equipment. Knowing that Spinal and epidural anaesthesia can
cause unpredictable and profound arterial hypotension necessitate the use of adequate monitoring like
the; Pulse oximetry, ECG and Blood pressure cuff. This knowledge will help me to be able to select
appropriate monitoring devices during epidural catheter insertion. Also it goes without saying that an
epidural must be performed in a work area that is equipped for airway management and resuscitation.
I now know that the hypotension is caused by vasodilatation because the sympathetic nerves that
control tone are blocked. Peripheral

  • 2. The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Digital Radiography Digital radiography (DR) is a revolutionary invention in radiography. With this technology, no cassette is needed for an x ray examination meaning that there is no need to reload films or to erase imaging plate in every examination. This is a distinctive feature which conventional radiography and computed radiography (CR) do not have. DR was first introduced in 1996 (Carroll, 2011). Miniature electronic x ray detectors are used as the image receptor. The detectors enable the direct capture of the x ray image without conversion steps (like the conversion of x ray photos into light photons). This technology is widely used nowadays since it has many advantages and it brings much convenience to radiographers. One of the main advantages of DR is image post processing in which the quality of the film (in terms of contrast and brightness, etc.) can be adjusted to reach the desired standard. Therefore, the tolerance of the deviation of the exposure factors is greater and the need of repeating the examination is greatly reduced so the patient dose is reduced. This follows the as low as reasonably achievable principle for radiation protection and this also improve the final image quality simultaneously. Besides, many DR systems were installed with preset for numerous anatomical studies which can improve the post processing. Like CR, the images produced are in digital format so this provides convenience for radiographers to store and retrieve the image easily. DR is also capable to work with PACS ... • 3. The Educational Value of Exhibitions in Musuems Definition of exhibition Before proceeding to the discussion of relationship between exhibition, communication and education, the meaning of the term should be clarified first. The term exhibition implies several meanings owing to a movement within different context and style of each professional realm. As the definition shows in oxford dictionary, the word exhibition can be defined as a public display of works of art or items of interest, held in an art gallery or museum or at a trade fair , and it is also refer to synonyms display , show . Similarly, here we can further defined the display as a method of communication and scenario that convey diverse content to the audience in certain period or a specific space with the purpose of information transmitting, promotion, education and enlightenment (Huang and Wu:1998, p.8). Although there is subtle difference of definition and the representative word of exhibition, it is noteworthy that we can hardly investigate the display apart from media, message, and audience. Exhibition, communication, and knowledge shaping. When it comes to the exhibition in museums, there is increasing discussion of museum as dialogue environment and its learning impacts on audience. Modern museums have gradually transferred their emphasis from collection, conservation and research to display and education. Besides the traditional functions of museum, 吉村典夫( 1979: 104 107) maintains that organisation is encouraged to develop responsibilities ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Petrarch and Wyatt Compared Essay In the world of poetry, imitation occurs at every turn. Many poets will take an original form of poetry and copy the style. This can be said about Sir Thomas Wyatt who attempts to mimic Petrarch s form; when the symbols, tone, images, rhyme, and setting in Wyatt s poem Whoso list to hunt are compared to Petrarch s Rime 190 it becomes apparent that he failed to embody the essence of Petrarch in his writing. Symbolism plays a large role in most poems. A pure white doe in an emerald glade/Appeared to me, with two antlers of gold (Petrarch lines 1 2) is a perfect example of symbolism is poetry. Petrarch is not actually talking about a white deer with golden antlers, he s talking about a beautiful woman with golden hair. Wyatt also uses ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I may no more shows Wyatt s sexual desire for this woman and his disappointment in her unavailability to him. Petrarch s woman is a pure and beautiful woman while Wyatt s is a sexy, impure temptress. Another aspect Wyatt did not compare to Petrarch is visual imagery. Petrarch has a very beautiful way of using visual images which he proves with the lines one through four: A snow white doe in an emerald glade/To me appeared, with antlers soft of gold,/And leapt two streams, under a laurel s shade,/Near sunrise, in the winter s bitter cold. (Petrarch lines 1 4). The closest visual image in Wyatt s version is And graven in diamonds in letters plain (Wyatt line 11) which is still very far away from being good visual imagery. Rhyme is a defining point of Petrarch s poetry with a rhyme scheme of abba abba cde cde. Wyatt kept the rhyme scheme of the octave but changed the sestet to cdd cee. There is written, her fair neck round about,/Noli me tangere, for Caesar s I am,/And wild to hold, though I seem tame. (Wyatt line 12 14) is an example of the changed rhyme scheme. Wyatt also resorted to eye rhyme which is also shown in the quotation for the words am and tame. Petrarch s poems held firm to the original rhyme scheme of abba abba cde cde and each rhyme is a complete rhyme rather than Wyatt s lazy eye rhyming. Petrarch s rhyme ... The Darkness Of The Night The slightly built woman dreaded the advancing darkness of the night as she stood solemnly by the window, staring, but not actually seeing the rolling green hills of the Appalachian Mountains. Their peaks dominated the landscape, rising high above the treetops. How she would love to escape over their crests never to return. In the distance, an encroaching curtain of gloom had begun to fall across the countryside. Lightning bolts flashed brilliantly across the sky briefly brightening the room, as the loud rumble of thunder shook the windows. The damp air from the approaching rain blew through the open window and hung in the room with humid, oppressive tension, bringing the potential for chaos along with a cleansing relief from the relentless summer heat. Worry and doubt cast a burden on her heart as the setting sun slowly seeped into the earth, drawing her ever closer to despair. Uneasy fingers ruffled through light brown hair, which flowed in long waves to her waist. Beautiful, tear filled violet eyes reflected an intensity that was rare in someone so young. One hand reached up hastily wiping a tear from her rosy cheek where a smattering of faint freckles ran randomly across the bridge of her nose. The bleakness of the threatening thunderclouds, chasing across the evening sky, matched the depth of her encompassing depression. • 12. A General Model Of Colonialism And Underdevelopment It is very much clear that a general model of colonialism and underdevelopment cannot explain the variations in India s growth trend during the colonial period from 1863 to 1947. However, there are three structural features that define the entire colonial period. Structural features which include the importance of natural resources and labour to economics growth and welfare.Land intensive agriculture, Labour intensive handicrafts, and modern industry in natural resources, were the main livelihoods throughout this period and beyond. Global features which saw a more open Indian economy and the fact that India took part in the first globalisation of the 19th century, which saw a rapid integration of world economy in terms of commodity trade, capital flows, and labour migration. Due to the opening of Suez canal in 1867 India also witnessed the revolution in transport and communication, Railways and telegraph which were introduced in this phase. There were Colonial features suggesting India was a colony is evident from the large remittances that government of India paid to the government in Britain. Thus, development in India was not resultant of a single factor but can be summed as the culmination of various factors which shaped, in mutual interaction, the economic growth in the region. Economic historians divide the period into two parts pre war: from 1867 to 1920 5 and interwar: 1920 5 to 1947, moreover, they define National income in the periods as the following expression: ... Not only do the feet help them jump, they also aid in keeping balance since the feet are so large and have four toes. On the other hand the upper half of the kangaroo is just as important as or more important than the lower half. The very sharp claws are used to break grass and other plants off so they can eat it and in some cases they can be used to defend the kangaroo from predators. The main purpose of living for Grenouille mirrors that of every other human being to discover the world, with his exception of seeking only the scenting part of it. The series of events in the boy s life develop his character and the various goals he strives for: survival, odor education, perfume making, peace, own smell, smell extraction, and to die.
