Essay on Condoms
Condoms
The word condom is probably derived from Latin condus meaning receptacle. Another explanation
is that the gut condom was invented by the English army doctor Colonel Quondam in around 1645
and that the word is a corruption of his name. We do not know who invented condoms, but we do
know that they were in use. There is evidence of this in the writings of Marquis de Sade, Casanova
and James Boswell. The latter, a Scottish lawyer and writer, protected himself against sexually
transmitted diseases by using a linen condom. During a visit to an Amsterdam brothel in 1764, he
drank with a prostitute, but the encounter went no further as he d left his armour behind. When
visiting a brothel in Marseilles, Casanova tried so called ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To prevent them slipping off, a ribbon on the open end of the condom was tied around the penis.
The sheaths made of bladder or gut could be used more than once; in contemporary paintings and
prints, they are some times seen hanging on a hook or a clothesline to dry.
Historians disagree about how condoms got their name. Some say a Dr. Condom supplied King
Charles II of England with animal tissue sheaths to keep him from fathering illegitimate children
and getting diseases from prostitutes. Others claim the word comes from a Dr. Condon or a
Colonel Cundum. It may be more likely that the word derives from the Latin Condon , meaning
receptacle.
In the 18th century, the famous womanizer, Casanova, wore condoms made of linen. Rubber
condoms were mass produced after 1844, when Charles Goodyear patented the vulcanization of
rubber, which he invented five years earlier. Condoms made of sheep s intestines are still
available. They are now disposable and should only be used once. In the 1940s and 50s, they
were washed, slathered in petroleum jelly, and kept in little wooden boxes in a bedroom drawer
but they weren t talked about in front of the kids, anyway
What is a condom?
Condoms are a thin rubber tube, which fits over the man s erect penis before intercourse. When the
man ejaculates, he does so into the condom that prevents the sperm from entering the vagina. Most
condoms are made of latex and when coated with spermicide

Mormon Cult Research Paper
The Mormon Cult
They all wear weird under garments. They are racist. They practice polygamy. They are a cult.
Women are discriminated against.
These are some of the controversies I have picked up on throughout my life when those who did not
practice the religion brought up Mormons. I ve had two insights into the Mormon religion; one
being my trip to the Kansas City temple and another being family friend s with one some might
call a hard core Mormon . After many years of these assumptions I finally acted on my curiosity
when I was granted the opportunity after a friend invited me to join them for their service. On
impulse, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and take a look into this foreign religion.
After my invitation, I waited ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I could feel everyone s eyes on mine but directed my attention to Brother Johnston, hoping he
wouldn t take my random outburst negatively.
That s actually not true in today s world, he replied kindly. He went on to explain that those who
would practice polygamy would become excommunicated. According to scriptures, the Lord had
commanded some to do so for various reasons (Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, David, and
Solomon) and they believe that in Heaven polygamy is practiced.
Anything else you d like to ask? He went on to say. Well yes, I have twenty million other questions
I d like answers to.
This is going to sound really weird, but do you guys all wear the same underwear every day? He
burst out laughing at my question and looked at the other girls who were laughing under their
breaths as well. In that moment I hated myself for being so curious, and quickly said Never mind!
No its ok, he replied, Our church is very big on modesty. After a couple is sealed (married) in the
temple they are given garments, underwear and a T shirt, that you wear under everything. It s kind
of a guide on what to wear over your clothes and you can never show

Amadeus Research Paper
The film Amadeus has been added to my personal collection of favorite and most interesting films
of all time. The movie Amadeus won eight academy awards, and is considered one of the most
popular movies of that time. Before watching the movie, I thought it was going to be all about
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart but was shied away from that thought after it opened and closed with
Antonio Salieri. Antonio Salieri had a dream of becoming the best composer in Vienna as well as
the world. He worshiped God and wanted to make music with gods helping hand, then he met a
man with such great talent that he thought god had turned his back on him and shined his light on
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Wolfgang s mother, Anna Maria Pertl, was born to a middle class family of local community
leaders. His only sister was Maria Anna with their father s encouragement and guidance, they
both were introduced to music at an early age. Mozart was an extremely talented child, who
started to compose music before the age of five years old. By the age of thirteen, Mozart started
writing proof of his genius with sonatas, concertos, symphonies, religious works and quite a few
operas. In the year 1773 he wrote his first piano concerto.
The relationship between Mozart and Salieri wasn t as hate filled as the film was sought out to
be. For Salieri, another great composer at that time, it is easy for him to take the part as a
musically jealous antagonist for the film. The film showed that Salieri at the end of the film was
considered crazy by placing him in an insane asylum because of the claims he made about Mozart
and his works. Salieri in fact did not hate Mozart because of lack of proof, but for the movie it was
fitting to show that he envied Mozart, turned against him, and even tried to kill

Gender Discrimination And The Field Of Science
As a student coming from a purely humanities background, the idea that gender discrimination
could occur in the field of science as a concept was completely alien to me. However it has come
to light that gender discrimination in the field of science is not a myth but in fact a harsh reality for
which the reasons remain skewed.
As according to Linda S. Dix, it is not an easy matter to assess the magnitude of gender
discrimination and how that affects the careers of scientists, both men and women, positively and
negatively. Discrimination is often subtle and thus difficult to identify or locate. Due to its
subtleness, it makes it difficult to measure since it can be entwined with other forms of
particularism like age. As a result researchers have come to rely on indirect rather than direct
measures of discrimination which was also propounded by Harriet Zuckerman. Most researchers
have come to agree that differences in career attainments between men and women occur as an
outcome of gender discrimination.
As per research gender provides a perspective from which one could examine the biases that exist
in the larger society. Some believe that to arrive at a more eloquent understanding of the problems
of women in science , one should begin by asking what is the nature of science space that leads to
under representation and marginalisation of women rather than questioning the situation of a
woman s life that makes it difficult for her to pursue science.
Thus, that gender

In the area of, Ashford University and Clinton Iowa, tornadoes can occur at any time, but
primarily occur between the months of April through October. Tornadoes can be the most brutal
of storms. Winds speeds can reach speeds nearing 300 miles per hour and can destroy anything in
its path. Tornadoes form rapidly and can travel for miles along the ground and lift up from the
ground, and then suddenly change directions and touchdown again! There is little you can do to
protect your property from a direct hit by a tornado; however, many actions can be taken to protect
you and your family.
2.All campus buildings are equipped with a NOAA weather radio which broadcasts news of
tornado watches and warnings.
3.5 Outdoor Warning Sirens sometimes referred to as Tornado Sirens, are used in warning citizens
who are outdoors about impending danger. In Clinton County there are two main siren systems that
cover the all incorporated cities within Clinton County as well as several unincorporated areas.
Both the sirens that are part of the siren system located within the 10 Mile Emergency Planning

Annexation Of Philippines Essay
The Unjust Annexation of the Philippians
No man is good enough to govern another man without that other s consent. Abraham Lincoln.
(Document A). The United States did just this in 1898, when they annexed the Philippines. The
Filipino people had been fighting for their independence against Spain for many years before the
US intervened. The rebels, led by Emilio Aguinaldo, were grateful for the assistance. The Filipino
people thought that the US had come to help free them from Spain. Unfortunately for the Filipino
people, they were incorrect. On February 6, 1899, the United States of America annexed the
Philippines, much to the disgust of the rebels in the Philippines and many people in America
(including Mark Twain, Andrew Carnegie, and former President Grover Cleveland.) The reasoning
behind this was partially for economic prosperity, thinking that the Philippines held the secret route
to riches by being a trading partner and a jumping ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
William Jennings Bryan proves this by saying, (A) war of conquest is as unwise as it is
unrighteous...It is not necessary to own people in order to trade with them. (Document D). He also

conquer them, making it a war of conquest and therefore unwise. To reinforce the point that you don
t have to own countries to trade with them, consider this. Today, the United States trades beyond
their borders, this second perhaps. The five countries that the US trades with the most are Canada,
China, Japan, Mexico, and Germany. The US does not own any of these countries. You do not have
to own a country to trade with them and since one of the United State s main reasons for annexing
the Philippines was to create a trading route, the United States was unjustified in annexing the

Was The Rosenberg Trial Justified
The Rosenberg Trial: Unfair Murder or Justified Execution
Who was telling the truth the Rosenbergs or Greenglass? Who was telling the truth Sobell or
Elitcher? It will be a long time, if ever, before we know for certain. We may wake up one morning
to learn that the Rosenbergs were guilty. We may wake up to learn that they were innocent. But I
doubt whether we will ever find there was a deliberate frameup. Fanaticism had the same
momentum on both sides.
Radosh and Milton in The Rosenberg File: A Search for the Truth, first page after the title
The Rosenbergs case is not as simple as it first appears; the question of the trial is not simply the
guilt or innocence of the Rosenbergs. Today evidence proves Julius spied for the Soviet Union,
however, no evidence exists to prove Ethel spied. The utmost question is the handling of the case,
the faultiness of which created an inescapable trap, ending in the death of Julius and Ethel
Rosenberg regardless of their innocence or guilt. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

further explains the tension between the two countries. Also during this time, many Soviet spy

Essay about A Biography of Josephine Baker
A Biography of Josephine Baker
Josephine Baker was born Freda Josephine MacDonald in St. Louis, Missouri to her unwed
parents: Carrie McDonald and Eddie Carson. Her father soon left the family and Josephine had
to help her mother support herself and her three younger half siblings. At age eight, she got a job
working as a maid for a white family (Robinson). At age 12, she had dropped out of school to
work. By age 14, she had moved out, been married, and separated from her first husband. She
would later go onto marry and divorce three more men. Never was she financially dependent on any
man, including her husbands.

In 1936, Josephine attempted a return to the United States to star in the Ziegfield Follies. Due to
the still prevalent racism in the United States, she was greeted with negative reviews. Americans
were not yet ready to embrace a black woman as sophisticated and powerful, despite her success in
Europe (About).
Just a few years later, World War II spread across Europe. Josephine helped out France in every
way she could: performing for troops, being an honorable correspondent for the French Resistance
(smuggling secret messages), and serving as a sub lieutenant in the Women s Auxiliary Air Force
(About). For her efforts, she was later awarded the Medal of the Resistance with Rosette and
dubbed a Chevalier of the Legion of Honor by the French government.
In the 50s and 60s, Josephine returned to the United States to help fight racism. She refused to
perform in any club or theatre that was not integrated (Lewis). This resulted in the breaking of the
color bar in many establishments, especially in Las Vegas. May 20 was named Josephine Bakerday

Tribe. She adopted 12 children to demonstrate that children of different ethnicities and religions
could still be brothers (About). The children would sometimes

Summary Of Sandra Bem s Lenses On Gender
The Lenses on Gender by Sandra Bem (1993) focuses on gender polarization throughout chapter
four. The most significant aspect the to passage to me was the concept of androgyny. At first, it was
surprising to me that androgyny was harshly criticized, but I came to understand the issue with the
word. Androgyny, although trying to escape the grasp of genderpolarization, still encompasses
gender polarizing qualities. Even knowing this, I find the word to be beautiful. It provides both a
vision of utopia and a model of mental health that does not require the individual to banish from
the self whatever attributes and behaviors the culture may have stereotypically defined as
inappropriate for his or her sex, (Bem, 1993, p. 124). In a society, one

1985. Since then, company underwent a massive expansion strategy and was operating 575
stores towards the end of year 2003. BBBY s growth was also fueled by adjoining business
segments; it owned and operated beauty store and specialty Christmas shopping stores. In 2003,
BBNY owned 30 Harmon stores and 24 Christmas Tree Shops stores by 2003.
BBNY followed a niche strategy to create differentiation benefit over the competition. Founder s
strategic focus on creating good customer experience resulting in high productivity and
decentralized BBNY store operations were some of the key reasons BBNY enjoyed high margins
on its profit and low cost structure. Since BBNY went public in 1992, BBNY was a Wall Street s
darling stock and was favored by investors over other retail companies. BBNY stock was trading at

Iambic Similes In William Shakespeare s Sonnet 130
An Elizabethan sonnet is a poem that contains 14 lines. Each line is usually 10 syllables long.
However, Shakespeare created his own type of sonnet that also has 14 lines, but also follows a
rhyme scheme of ababcdcdefefgg. Not only that, but the Shakespearean sonnets also have iambic
pentameter which give the sonnetsa rhythm or beat by emphasizing every other syllable.
Shakespearean sonnets are very similar to those of Petrarchan lovers. The main idea of these
sonnets are usually about exaggerated and romantic love. These sonnets were created by a man
named Francesco Petrarch. He was an Italian student during the Renaissance who lived in
Petrarch, Italy. Petrarch then fell in love with a woman named Laura, and shortly after he began
to write sonnets about her. Many people who also lived in the city continued what Francesco had
started. The ideal woman of the time and in Petrarchan sonnets was blonde, had a high forehead,
had bright eyes, and had pale skin. In the sonnets, they are exaggerated so much that they are
almost viewed as angels or goddesses. In William Shakespeare s Sonnet130, he compares his
mistress to the ideal woman from Petrarchan sonnets, and in a way, mocks them for their ridiculous
flattery. In Sonnet 130, William Shakespeare s use of similes, metaphors, and tone illustrate the
complex nature of love, and reject the clichГ© concepts of ideal love.
First, the narrator compares his mistress to the ideal Petrarchan woman. His tone is very harsh and

Tobacco is one of the most popular products in today s market, but in order to be universally

But although conflict as to the effects of smoking and bans on smoking by certain religious
groups, the use of tobacco continued to develop (The Columbia Encyclopedia, 1). The roots of
advertising exist thousands of years in the past. One of the first known ways of advertising was
the outdoor display, usually an eye catching sign painted on the wall of a building. In medieval
times word of mouth praise of products gave rise to a simple but effective form of advertising,
the use of so called town criers. The criers were citizens who read public notices aloud and were
also employed by merchants to shout the praiser of their waves. Although graphic forms of
advertising appeared early in history, printed advertising made little headway until the invention of
the printing press. In the end of 19th century many companies began to produce packaged
products under brand names. This increase was used in a new period in the history of advertising.
Previously, such everyday household goods as sugar, soap, rice, molasses, butter, milk, lard, beans,
confectionery, candles, and pickles had been sold in nearby shops from bulk packages. As a
conclusion, consumers had seldom been
aware of, or inspired by, brand names. Public relations specialists have advertising as a way of

Gospel Of Mark Reason
The Gospel of Mark Three Reasons to Study The Gospel of Mark written by John Mark around
mid to late 60 s is the shortest yet possibly the most interesting of all four Gospels. It contains the
narrative history, sermons, and parables of Jesus Christ in just sixteen quick chapters. And
according to some instructors and authors it also has the most miracles of Christ within its pages.
Three reasons for a student of the Bible to consider studying, not just reading the Gospel of Mark is
one, the key word in Mark is Immediately which is used frequently causing the reader to move
from one account to the next rapidly.
Two, unlike Luke and Matthew who begin their accounts of the Gospel with the events surrounding
the birth of the Jesus, Mark ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We read in Mark 1:22 that They were astonished at his teachings, they were all amazed, Mark
1:27; they were utterly astounded Mark 6:51; the disciples were amazed at his words, Mark 10:24.
The Bible student can take the example from our Lord who came here with purpose, to save the lost.
The purpose of the Gospel of Mark is to show that our Lord Jesus Christ is the Messiah, the Son
of God who was sent to suffer and to serve in order to rescue and restore mankind. It is widely
recognized that the theme of this Gospel comes out chapter ten and verse forty five, For even the
Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.
In the third point we answer the question, why would these short writings be so well noted and
recognized? And this is answered with the theme verse as it paints a picture of how Mark
describes our Lord. Mark displays both Jesus divinity and his humanity. For example, Mark tells
us that Jesus is the carpenter Mark 6:3. Matthew softens it a bit by saying that Jesus is the
carpenter s son Matthew 13:55. Mark even tells us about Jesus emotions. Jesus was moved with
compassion Mark 6:34; he sighed Mark 7:34; 8:12; he marveled at the unbelief of his own people
Mark 6:6; he looked

how social networking portrays individuals and initiates human interactions within a society.

Gosling polled the group using a standard Five Factor model personality test which measured
extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, emotional stability, and openness to new
experiences (Steele, Evans, Green, 2008). Then researchers rated the same subjects based solely on
their Facebook profiles, which usually included pictures and lists of interests.
The researchers found a correlation between assessments in four of the five categories. Gosling was
not surprised that emotional stability was the only attribute showing no significant results across
personal and online assessments because it is a quality that people are good at concealing across
most media (Wilson, 2007). Although the extroversion category showed the highest correlation,
research suggests that openness to new experience is perhaps exhibited better online than in person.
Judith Donath, an associate professor at the Media Laboratory at MIT who reviewed Gosling s
research, divides the content of social networking sites into signals and unintended cues. According
to Donath, Facebook users do not intend to share super personal information on their profiles.
People who happen to share a personal status update might be perceived as over sharing without
meaning to (Wilson, 2007).

I Disagree With Kenneth Waltz’S Positionthat Nuclear...
I disagree with Kenneth Waltz s position that nuclear proliferation makes the world a safer place,
and how best to measure the spread of nuclear weapons, particularly in regimes that are
developing, unstable, or third world. 1 While some scholars see nuclear weapons as a threat to
stability and peace due to their mass destruction capability and the potential for horrific fallout
triggered by ethnic and geopolitical instability, others see those weapons as holding the power to
maintain an appropriate balance of power between opposing regimes at times of tension and during
periods of low level conflict. This debate is reflected in international relations.
Waltz argues that nuclear weapons keep the world secure, as states would not take the ... Show more

As for second strike deterrence, Waltz states that there are two necessities: survival of a first
attack and the ability to inflict sufficient damage. Without absolute certainty of destruction of the
opposition s arsenal, a country would be less likely to attack. Because of uncertainty about the
size of another country s arsenal size, nations would not take the risk of retaliation; Even the
largest states recoil from taking adventurous steps if the price of failure is the possible loss of a
city or two 1. The problem I see with this position is that nations may sometimes benefit from
spotting signatures that are carelessly sent to enemy intelligence agencies which may inadvertently
reveal secret information about the size and location of otherwise hidden military forces. For
example, Pakistani road construction crews inadvertently signaled the location of secret M 11
missiles by placing wide radius roads at Sargodha Missile Base . The failure of the Soviet military
to keep its 1962 missile deployment in Cuba secret was similarly caused by construction crew
routines that produced signatures which highlighted the location of the missiles. The Star of David
pattern of air defense missile battery placements and slash marks on missile pads gave away the
Cuban secret to the Americans.
Regarding the accidental use of nuclear weapons, Waltz dismisses this

Chapter 7 In this chapter, some of the main concepts that are touched on are observing society,
religion, education, and democracy, critical evolution theory, and dynamics of social evolution. I
will touch on a couple of these from each theorist. The two theorists in this chapter are Harriet

She was an evolutionist. We will look at her concept of critical evolution theory. Gilman views
society as moving from simple to complex systems. Gilman states that the environment is a
major factor in social evolution. She talks about how she believes that humans began as animals
that were pursuing individual gain. She said at that time of evolution that the survival of the
fittest was based on individual competition and strength. She states how men would fight one
another for sexual rights to women and would hunt for food. The competition between the men
was individual and often resulted in death. As society evolved, competition between men
decreased because people started to depend on each other for survival. The way people depend
on each other for survival now a days is that not every man hunts for themselves to produce food
for their families. Instead we have corporations now that make food and farmers who make
crops for people to buy at stores. People are dependent on livestock farmers and crop farmers to
grow food so that they may have something to eat. Another example of people being dependent on
one another is when someone is sick, they depend on a doctor to cure their illness instead of like

Summary Of Bill Clinton s First Lady
When Clinton discussed her experience as a First Lady, the expected tone would have been very
motherly, and of someone that is in the background. As was observed, it was the opposite. When
Clinton spoke of her time as First Lady while her husband Bill Clinton was in office, she spoke up
on important issues such as feminism, and did not blend into the background, as she wanted to be a
leader and inspire other women to do the same. A prime example of this is when Clinton attended
the Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing, China and delivered a speech that changed the
world and women s rights. Clinton said during her speech at the Fourth World Conference, let it be
that human rightsare women s rights are human rights, once and for all

Statistical Methods And Inference Of Study Results
Many Empirical Research involve statistical techniques to make reliable interpretation and
inference of study results. P values are one of the important techniques used in statistical analysis.
Researchers routinely consider a small p value (less than 0.05) to be significant , that is, to have a
low probability of obtaining a result that is extreme under the null hypothesis. However, a small p
value can also be misleading sometimes and can cause severe problems in the interpretation of
study results. In this paper, I will provide a summary of p value followed by explaining how (1) a
huge sample size, (2) a homogeneous sample, and (3) heteroscedastic error terms in regression
models can lead to a small p value and how to make good use of it.
P values are used all over statistics. It is the probability of obtaining an effect at least as extreme as
the one in the sample data, assuming the truth of the null hypothesis (Lew, 2012). It depends on a
null hypothesis, the data, as well as a statistics with its distribution under the null hypothesis and its
ranking showing what is an extreme observation.
The first reason for obtaining a small but problematic p value is a huge sample size. If the
sample size is large enough, even very small differences may be statistically significant (Lin et al,
2013). For example, suppose we want to test whether there the average GPA of students at
University of Michigan is the same for male (M) and female (F). We form the null hypothesis that

The Modern Day Legal Systems
Human civilization marked the beginning of modern day legal systems. The advancements in
societies resulted in maintaining certain rules and regulations to continue this progress. Every
society has its own set of laws which are in some ways distinct from others. Many of these laws
have common sections and underlying guidelines. This could be because some societies decide
to retain certain aspects of their customs after breaking out of another society. It could also be the
case that over time different societies through trade and other intercultural activities developed
together, which caused them to have agreements in their laws. For many others, it is the case that
they share a common colonial master. The law and legal systems operating today are derivatives
of the forms listed above. Like many other nations today, the laws of ancient civilizations have
affected Canadian law. These include the Code of Hammurabi, the Mosaic law, Greek and Roman
laws, the Magna Carta and a few others. More recently are the civil and common law derived from
the French and British respectively. Canadadid not always have a written constitution. The territory
we now refer to as Canada was once populated by the French and English colonial masters. These
colonists extended the laws of their home countries to their colonies. As the population of this
territory grew and the UK gained control of more colonies including those from the French, regional
laws became a necessity. Between the eighteenth

Summary Of Danny Wants A Cup Of Water By John Steinbeck
Steinbeck uses imagery and structure to champion his theme that it is peoples intrinsic character
that will ultimately push them to survive even in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds. The
passage opens with Steinbeck describing the cars along route 66 as fraught and unable to go on.
He personifies them by stating that they are panting and struggling . He also uses a metaphor to
compare them with rattling bodies , as if they are the migrant workers themselves. This
characterization of the cars is meant to show an analogy between the migrants and the cars since
both are on the brink of breaking down at any moment. However, the cars still pushing on down the
road also compare to the migrants, but only the ones who have kept fighting.... Show more content

He is able to use the short, yet very powerful story of twelve people in order to strengthen his
psychological argument about how people are able to retain their trust and compassion even in
such devastating times. This is exemplified through the repetition of Danny wants a cup of water
. The first time it is said, Steinbeck uses a simile to describe how the concrete road shone like a
mirror since it is so hot that it creates a rippling effect like a wave in the distance, almost as if the
road is taunting Danny by containing pools of water when he cannot even have a drop. Because
no one has yet acknowledged the thirsty boy, Danny wants a cup of water is repeated. Now,
someone prompts a response with a sympathetic tone through the words, poor little fella.
Furthermore, the person then demonstrates his persistence in getting the boy some water by
saying he will stop at the next service station . Steinbeck has just explained how a majority of
the cars are likely to break down at any moment; therefore, the simple fact that the family still
decides to drive knowing that they might not make it shows how hopeful they really are.
Moreover, with this worry constantly nagging at their minds, they are still able to focus on
satisfying the boy s thirst. Steinbeck then transitions into a family that does not have a car, yet the
same principle of hope and trust applies to them. They come together as a family and prepare for
whatever hardships may come. Though, a man facing the same amount of struggle is able to pick
them up, feed them, and take them to California. Now, Steinbeck uses this example to formulate
his argument. Neither party expects to meet each other, but both are able to help each other. The
family of twelve is able to keep the

Are you homeless?
Not a question you d typically receive on the way to history class; but there I was, being questioned

Well, you look like a bum.
While perhaps a bit blunt, she wasn t wrong. That morning I was wearing an old Braves hoodie,

A Brief Note On The Country Of Togo
In the country of Togo, the people who live there generally live more to the South and along the
major North South highway that connects the coast to the Sahel River (State department, 2005).
They mainly speak French, but the people in the South speak either Ewe or Mina (State
Department, 2005). The ones who speak the Ewe language, moved to Togoby crossing the Niger
River valley during the 12th and 14th centuries (State Department, 2005). In the 15th and 16th
centuries, Togo was known as The Slave Coast because over the next 200 years, European
explorers traveled there in search for slaves (State Department, 2005). I believe all of these

she really does not like those shots (I assume it is about insulin), there is a concern if she is

Buffy The Vampire Slayer Research Paper
Many TV shows have made positive difference in my life. Each show has taught me something,
regardless of how pointless or unrealistic the show may seem. One show that I have been I an
avid fan of since grade school is Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Throughout the series Buffy really
discovers who she is. She starts the series as a high school girl who wants absolutely nothing to
do with being a vampire slayer, but by the end of the series she trains potential slayers and leads
the fight The First. Buffy showed me that you can start off knowing nothing and being an
outcast, and still become the greatest at what you do. The message is that you can be a high
school girl, but can make an impact on the world. This is reinforced by when in the series finale
the power to be a slayer is unleashed to every potential slayer in the world. The spin off of Buffy
the Vampire Slayeris Angel, a show about Buffy s love interest Angel, who is a vampire with a
soul. Before Angel was cursed with a soul he killed many people, but when he got a soul he felt

Examples Of Pathos In The First Lady Michelle Obama
The First Lady Michelle Obama has delivered a speech on October 13, 2016. Mrs. Obama
speech was about the opportunities young people have and the challenges young females face.
Michelle Obama is also giving the speech to persuade people not to vote for Trump because of
how disrespectful and disregarding he is to women. Michelle obamaused different rhetorical appeals
during her speech. Michelle used lots of emotions and persuasive language to connect with the
audience in front of her.
Pathos is an appeal to emotion, and is a way of convincing an audience of an argument by creating
an emotional response. For an example Michelle says, Strong men who are truly role models don
t need to put down women to make themselves feel powerful (Obama, 2016). This is an example
of pathos because it is using emotion towards something that is being done to females. She is
trying to get men to stop doing what they are doing to women by using emotion to show how
hurtful it actually is. The emotion she is getting at is pride which men have a lot of. This affects
the audience because it s going to show the men they need to change and being rude to women isn t
right. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

mainly. She could relate to the audience a lot because they were adults with children which she
has and she goes through things like a normal parent also she gives a lot of advice that can help
with the problems the children are having or even the adults. With Michelle Obama being the
first lady the speech was very important and effective but if it was someone else the certain points

I think the reason why people are still willing to endorse Kobe Bryant is because they are willing

How To Write A Research Paper On Bea Beam Miller
Beam launchers work on two phases, beam placing and moving forwards. The beam placing
operates in two ways depending on where beams are delivered. On one condition, that beams are
delivered on the ground level, lifting trolley will pick them up directly by both ends. On the
other condition, that beams are delivered at abutment, by two trucks or other carriers at each
side, the front trolley will pick up the front end of beams, then the front end of beams will be
released from carrier; the front trolley moves forward, simultaneously with another carrier and
beams, until the rear end of beams are at the same horizontal position of the rear trolley. The rear
trolley will pick up the rear end of beams then, and once again the beams will be released from
carrier. After the trolley getting the beams at deck level, the latter will be placed onto the bearings.

The Faerie Queen By Edmund Spencer
The Faerie Queen by Edmund Spencer uses erotic and mystifying dreams to provide insight into
the representation of gender relations; it is through women that the emotional state of desire as
well as terror is experienced. Throughout the epic women dominate the visions experienced by
the knights which sometimes makes the dreams more complex and difficult to interpret.
Interestingly, the male counterparts within the context of the epic explore controversial
implications of their virtues as men, because of how they conceptualize women within their
dreams. In the first canto of the epic the Red Cross Knight conceptualizes Una in his dream as a
deceiver. However, it is Archimago that is responsible for Kinght s sense of deception as he
sends an emissary to the underworld to acquire a fit false dreame (I.i.43.9) with the sole purpose
of taunting the Red Cross Knight. Archimago wants to take advantage of his thoughts and feeling
towards Una. A dream of this nature would corrupt his chivalric code, and strip him down to a
mere man his manly hart did melt away (I.i.47.5), left Red Cross bathed in wanton blis and
wicked ioy (I.i.47.6), then prompted him to fly into a rage against the innocent Una. The Red
Cross Knight is tormented by the dream of Una , and yet is plagued once again by Archimago who
sends a springht, that feigning dreame, and that faire forged Spright (I.ii.2.2) to give the knight with
a vision of Una engaging sexually in an illicit manner. Not surprisingly,

The Nature In Crossing By Mark Slouka
The Nature is many things.
It s one of the realest places to be. The Nature won t lie to you or adjust the reality just so it will
please you. The Nature doesn t care, it does what it wants and then you d just have to deal with it.
It challenges you, forces you to face the reality and most important of all, it makes you confront
your deepest fears and get answers for questions, you didn t even know you had.
Crossing is a short story written by Mark Slouka. It s about a father, who s going on a field trip
with his son. The father has just been divorced and hasn t been happy for a long time, but the
nostalgia about the trip, which he also went on with his own father, and having to spend time with
his son, makes him feel happy.
The short story is told with a third person limited narrator and from the father s point of view. The
narrator is descriptive, the surroundings are all very well described, and there s both indirect and
direct speech throughout the story. The indirect speech is often used when the father thinks back on
conversations he had earlier in his life. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Jesus Christ ( Christology )
Jesus Christ (Christology)
I believe Jesus is fully God and fully man (Phil 2:6 11), one person with two natures, conceived by
the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary (Luke 1:34 38), accredited by God through miracles,
wonders and signs which God did through Him, died on the cross to justify all sinners who believe
in Him from God s wrath (1 Pet 3:18; Rom 5:9), arose from the dead (Acts 2:23 24) and is now at
the right hand of God the Father (Heb 8:1), and will come again to establish His kingdom (Matt
26:64).
The conception by the Holy Spirit instead of by the line of descent from Adam, and the virgin birth
by Mary together show that the unity of fully divine and fully human in one person of Jesus and the
source of salvation from the Holy God instead of from human including Mary (Gen. 3:15; Luke
1:35)
Jesus is one person (hypostatic union and not Nestorianism for two persons) with two distinct wills
(centers of consciousness) belong to the two preserved natures (Mark 13:32; John 2:25, 16:30,
21:17, not Apollinarianism for one divine nature nor Eutychianism for one mixed new nature)
The Lord Jesus preexists with God, was God and is God (John 1:1). He, being in very nature God,
did not consider equality with God but made himself a man (Phil 2:6 8) without losing any of
His divine attributes (Col 1:19, 2:9). He should be worshiped in the same sense and to the same
degree as the Father by every creature (Rev. 5:13) because He is fully God and in Him all the

The Effect Of Client On The Quick Term Inventory Expenses

Role Of Fate In Romeo And Juliet
Fate s Trap Do people still believe in fate and predetermined destiny that could shape love? In
Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare s theme of fate impels the star cross d lovers who are destined to

this romantic yet sad play, there is a supernatural power that impacts each scene of the story
changing the outcomes to fit the theme of fate. The role of fate first plays a role in shaping the
setting of the long family feud between the Capulets and the Montague in the streets of Verona.
Fate controls all aspects of the setting of the scenes starting with the long family feud that is
likely to become a hindrance to their passionate love. The prologue says, From ancient grudge

dreadful occasions. This quote tells us that their impetuous yet passionate relationship strengthens
the bonds of love. Fate plays a role as it shapes the time with tempering extremities for the couples
to face a new conflict which they have to endure. Shakespeare continues to foreshadow the bitter
consequences of their extreme sweet love throughout the scenes in Act 2. However, the heavens
themselves doomed their love from the beginning. When they tried to alter their destinies, the only
result is to take the path of death as their love too swift arrives as tardy as too

Spina Bifida Occulta
Abraham Maslow once said, In any given moment we have two options: to step forward into
growth or to step backward into safety. My whole life I have had many medical issues typically
preventing one from doing a lot of the normal things a child can do. But I truly believe that life
is not about the circumstances you were given, but much rather how you choose to react to
them. So growing up I have always managed to find a way to not let my disabilities hinder me
from living my life like everyone else and defy the odds I was handed. When i was born, my
spine was not fully formed at the bottom, leaving an opening that would be the cause difficulties
my entire life. I was diagnosed with Spina Bifida Occulta. Spina Bifida is an incurable birth
defect where the vertebrae is defective causing the spinal cord to fail a proper development. In
most cases of Spina Bifida the person is wheelchair bound their entire life along with other major
health problems. Despite this, step by step I began walking on my own just under one year old. I
was also born deaf and in most cases of deafness, the person is also mute,... Show more content on

I was required to do a lot of physical therapy sessions to try and loosen my ligaments enough to
qualify for the team because of the tightness caused from my spine. I was able to do cross
country for a while before I ran into more issues. My pelvis began to dislocate off and on during
practices and meets followed up by bulging one of the disks in my back but still kept running for
the following two years along with a year of track. Having so many medical issues can make life
harder than usual. These things among many other experiences in my life, have been difficult to
overcome. Inevitably, you have to find a way to claim what you have and the way you were born
to be able to push through it. Your struggles in life should never be treated like limits but much

The Role Of Resilience In Adolescents
Children and adolescents are resilient. According to McWhirter, McWhirter, McWhirter, and
McWhirter (2013), resilience is the capacity to adapt and function successfully despite
experiencing chronic stress and adversity (p. 130). Resilience is also the ability to come back
from a negative situation and turn the adversity into something positive (Prince Embury, 2015).
When adolescents are placed in a stressful or difficult situation, they strive to make the best of it;
however, there are some adolescents who struggle to make the best of the situation they are in,
which leads to risky behavior. Family factors tend to influence resiliency as well as protective and
riskfactors. Family factors that influence resiliency in adolescents is parental... Show more content

At risk youth are still capable of getting involved with school and community activities. Some
adolescents become involved with art, music, and drama so they can express themselves
artistically. Others get involved with sports because of the family like atmosphere and team
building exercises. Others become involved with local mentoring organizations like Big Brothers,
Big Sisters and church youth groups. All of these activities serve as protective factors for at risk
youth, and help adolescents develop resiliency. According to McWhirter et al (2013), the social
support networks of the larger community also help to ameliorate the effects of stress on children
(p. 131). Adolescents rely on their peers, youth leaders, coaches, and teachers to help them develop
resilience. One of the risks of depending on peers to help develop resilience is peer group
pressure can be either a very powerful ally or a formidable antagonist, dissuading or encouraging
problem behavior (McWhirter et al, 2013, p. 116). As a result, it is imperative for adolescents to
choose their friends wisely, especially if they come from a difficult home background. School and
community environments help adolescents develop the skills they need to overcome their
difficulties (McWhirter et al, 2013, p. 146). Schools and communities also help adolescents develop
resiliency because they provide the support they need to

A Vet Is A Heroes Or Heroines
A hero or a heroine is a special person who works for greater good by showing great courage. My
hero or heroines are vets because they save and improve the lives of our two or four legged furry
friends in many ways. A veterinary doctor, usually called a vet is a professional who practices
veterinary medicine by treating diseases, disorders, and injuries in animals. Vets provide life
saving services to animals after a natural disaster or after bad people abuse them. They are
always there when our furry, winged or scaly friends are sick, injured or need help fast from an
expert. They are never too tired to come to the clinic, farm or home to bring hope and healing. Vets
have a lot of knowledge about animals and their biology. They have best

Changing the look of a camera strap is a fun way to accessorize and show off personality. Getting
a new look does not mean having to buy a new strap. By using an old belt, several swivel hooks,
scissors and a sewing machine, the look of the previous strap can be completely changed. First
the scissors should be used to cut the excess material off of the belt, including the holes that are
used to adjust the belt size. The length should then be checked by wrapping the belt around the
neck, ensuring that it is long enough to fit comfortably. If the belt is too short, the project should
be started again using a longer belt. The belt should be placed on a sturdy table or bench with the
decorative side facing up. Next, two swivel hooks should be

Maudie s Role Model
As the renowned American writer Ralph Waldo Emerson once have said, To be yourself in a world
that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment. Many minor
characters in To Kill a Mockingbird especially reflect what Emerson said. A major theme
surrounding this acclaimed classic involves various social stigmas in early 20th century Alabama.
Scout Finch, a precocious girl learns many valuable lessons throughout the book, while she faces
many social adversaries such as racism and the pressure to conform under the expectations of being
a women. Scout s three main women role models, Calpurnia, Miss Maudie, and Aunt Alexandra, all
guide her as she matures throughout the book. These three unique women voice their... Show more

Throughout the entire story, Miss Maudie serves to directly contrast Aunt Alexandra, being
more eccentric and caring less about upholding standardvalues. For instance, while Aunt
Alexandra is stiff and traditional, Miss Maudie is a chameleon lady who worked in her flower
beds in an old straw hat and men s coveralls (Lee 42). Despite having some different values, Miss
Maudie has no problem resuming life in a dress, and does not step out of line. In this way, she
shows Scout the possibility of being a lady without giving up individuality and values. Miss
Maudie also provides Scout a place where she can enjoy herself, welcoming the latter into her
own home, especially when Jem and Dill exclude her. Scout describes their neighborly
relationship, We could play on her lawn, eat her scuppernongs if we didn t jump on the arbor,
and explore her vast back lot, terms so generous we seldom spoke to her, so careful were we to
preserve the delicate balance of our relationship, but Jem and Dill drove me closer to her with
their behavior (Lee 42). With no real friends other than Jem and Dill, this place is essential to
her wellbeing, and Maudie not only becomes a positive role model for Scout, but a friend. Miss
Maudie also shows Scout how to live more freely by not caring about what others think.
According to Miss Maudie, Footwashers believe anything that s pleasure is a sin. Did you know
some of em came out of the woods one Saturday and passed by this place and told me me and my
flowers were going to hell? (Lee 44). Here Miss Maudie shows Scout that enjoyment is more
important than others opinions. The foot washing Baptists make it clear that they do not approve
of Miss Maudie s ways of life of indulgence, but she doesn t let the disdain affect her. Miss Maudie
knows that she would much rather spend her

  • 2. Essay on Condoms Condoms The word condom is probably derived from Latin condus meaning receptacle. Another explanation is that the gut condom was invented by the English army doctor Colonel Quondam in around 1645 and that the word is a corruption of his name. We do not know who invented condoms, but we do know that they were in use. There is evidence of this in the writings of Marquis de Sade, Casanova and James Boswell. The latter, a Scottish lawyer and writer, protected himself against sexually transmitted diseases by using a linen condom. During a visit to an Amsterdam brothel in 1764, he drank with a prostitute, but the encounter went no further as he d left his armour behind. To prevent them slipping off, a ribbon on the open end of the condom was tied around the penis. The sheaths made of bladder or gut could be used more than once; in contemporary paintings and prints, they are some times seen hanging on a hook or a clothesline to dry. Historians disagree about how condoms got their name. Some say a Dr. Condom supplied King Charles II of England with animal tissue sheaths to keep him from fathering illegitimate children and getting diseases from prostitutes. Others claim the word comes from a Dr. Condon or a Colonel Cundum. It may be more likely that the word derives from the Latin Condon , meaning receptacle. In the 18th century, the famous womanizer, Casanova, wore condoms made of linen. Rubber condoms were mass produced after 1844, when Charles Goodyear patented the vulcanization of rubber, which he invented five years earlier. Condoms made of sheep s intestines are still available. They are now disposable and should only be used once. In the 1940s and 50s, they were washed, slathered in petroleum jelly, and kept in little wooden boxes in a bedroom drawer but they weren t talked about in front of the kids, anyway What is a condom? • 5. Gender Discrimination And The Field Of Science As a student coming from a purely humanities background, the idea that gender discrimination could occur in the field of science as a concept was completely alien to me. However it has come to light that gender discrimination in the field of science is not a myth but in fact a harsh reality for which the reasons remain skewed. As according to Linda S. Dix, it is not an easy matter to assess the magnitude of gender discrimination and how that affects the careers of scientists, both men and women, positively and negatively. Discrimination is often subtle and thus difficult to identify or locate. Due to its subtleness, it makes it difficult to measure since it can be entwined with other forms of particularism like age. As a result researchers have come to rely on indirect rather than direct measures of discrimination which was also propounded by Harriet Zuckerman. Most researchers have come to agree that differences in career attainments between men and women occur as an outcome of gender discrimination. As per research gender provides a perspective from which one could examine the biases that exist in the larger society. Some believe that to arrive at a more eloquent understanding of the problems of women in science , one should begin by asking what is the nature of science space that leads to under representation and marginalisation of women rather than questioning the situation of a woman s life that makes it difficult for her to pursue science. Thus, that gender ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, Shakespeare created his own type of sonnet that also has 14 lines, but also follows a rhyme scheme of ababcdcdefefgg. Not only that, but the Shakespearean sonnets also have iambic pentameter which give the sonnetsa rhythm or beat by emphasizing every other syllable. Shakespearean sonnets are very similar to those of Petrarchan lovers. The main idea of these sonnets are usually about exaggerated and romantic love. These sonnets were created by a man named Francesco Petrarch. He was an Italian student during the Renaissance who lived in Petrarch, Italy. Petrarch then fell in love with a woman named Laura, and shortly after he began to write sonnets about her. Many people who also lived in the city continued what Francesco had started. The ideal woman of the time and in Petrarchan sonnets was blonde, had a high forehead, had bright eyes, and had pale skin. But although conflict as to the effects of smoking and bans on smoking by certain religious groups, the use of tobacco continued to develop (The Columbia Encyclopedia, 1). The roots of advertising exist thousands of years in the past. One of the first known ways of advertising was the outdoor display, usually an eye catching sign painted on the wall of a building. In medieval times word of mouth praise of products gave rise to a simple but effective form of advertising, the use of so called town criers. The criers were citizens who read public notices aloud and were also employed by merchants to shout the praiser of their waves. Although graphic forms of advertising appeared early in history, printed advertising made little headway until the invention of the printing press. In the end of 19th century many companies began to produce packaged products under brand names. This increase was used in a new period in the history of advertising. Previously, such everyday household goods as sugar, soap, rice, molasses, butter, milk, lard, beans, confectionery, candles, and pickles had been sold in nearby shops from bulk packages. The problem I see with this position is that nations may sometimes benefit from spotting signatures that are carelessly sent to enemy intelligence agencies which may inadvertently reveal secret information about the size and location of otherwise hidden military forces. For example, Pakistani road construction crews inadvertently signaled the location of secret M 11 missiles by placing wide radius roads at Sargodha Missile Base . The failure of the Soviet military to keep its 1962 missile deployment in Cuba secret was similarly caused by construction crew routines that produced signatures which highlighted the location of the missiles. She states how men would fight one another for sexual rights to women and would hunt for food. The competition between the men was individual and often resulted in death. As society evolved, competition between men decreased because people started to depend on each other for survival. The way people depend on each other for survival now a days is that not every man hunts for themselves to produce food for their families. P values are used all over statistics. It is the probability of obtaining an effect at least as extreme as the one in the sample data, assuming the truth of the null hypothesis (Lew, 2012). It depends on a null hypothesis, the data, as well as a statistics with its distribution under the null hypothesis and its ranking showing what is an extreme observation. The first reason for obtaining a small but problematic p value is a huge sample size. If the sample size is large enough, even very small differences may be statistically significant (Lin et al, 2013). For example, suppose we want to test whether there the average GPA of students at University of Michigan is the same for male (M) and female (F). We form the null hypothesis that ... • 26. The Modern Day Legal Systems Human civilization marked the beginning of modern day legal systems. The advancements in societies resulted in maintaining certain rules and regulations to continue this progress. Every society has its own set of laws which are in some ways distinct from others. Many of these laws have common sections and underlying guidelines. This could be because some societies decide to retain certain aspects of their customs after breaking out of another society. It could also be the case that over time different societies through trade and other intercultural activities developed together, which caused them to have agreements in their laws. For many others, it is the case that they share a common colonial master. The law and legal systems operating today are derivatives of the forms listed above. Like many other nations today, the laws of ancient civilizations have affected Canadian law. These include the Code of Hammurabi, the Mosaic law, Greek and Roman laws, the Magna Carta and a few others. More recently are the civil and common law derived from the French and British respectively. Canadadid not always have a written constitution. The territory we now refer to as Canada was once populated by the French and English colonial masters. These colonists extended the laws of their home countries to their colonies. As the population of this territory grew and the UK gained control of more colonies including those from the French, regional laws became a necessity. Between the eighteenth ... • 27. Summary Of Danny Wants A Cup Of Water By John Steinbeck Steinbeck uses imagery and structure to champion his theme that it is peoples intrinsic character that will ultimately push them to survive even in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds. The passage opens with Steinbeck describing the cars along route 66 as fraught and unable to go on. He personifies them by stating that they are panting and struggling . He also uses a metaphor to compare them with rattling bodies , as if they are the migrant workers themselves. This characterization of the cars is meant to show an analogy between the migrants and the cars since both are on the brink of breaking down at any moment. However, the cars still pushing on down the road also compare to the migrants, but only the ones who have kept fighting.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He is able to use the short, yet very powerful story of twelve people in order to strengthen his psychological argument about how people are able to retain their trust and compassion even in such devastating times. This is exemplified through the repetition of Danny wants a cup of water . The first time it is said, Steinbeck uses a simile to describe how the concrete road shone like a mirror since it is so hot that it creates a rippling effect like a wave in the distance, almost as if the road is taunting Danny by containing pools of water when he cannot even have a drop. Because no one has yet acknowledged the thirsty boy, Danny wants a cup of water is repeated. Now, someone prompts a response with a sympathetic tone through the words, poor little fella. Furthermore, the person then demonstrates his persistence in getting the boy some water by saying he will stop at the next service station . Steinbeck has just explained how a majority of the cars are likely to break down at any moment; therefore, the simple fact that the family still decides to drive knowing that they might not make it shows how hopeful they really are. Moreover, with this worry constantly nagging at their minds, they are still able to focus on satisfying the boy s thirst. Steinbeck then transitions into a family that does not have a car, yet the same principle of hope and trust applies to them. They come together as a family and prepare for whatever hardships may come. Though, a man facing the same amount of struggle is able to pick them up, feed them, and take them to California. Now, Steinbeck uses this example to formulate his argument. Neither party expects to meet each other, but both are able to help each other. The family of twelve is able to keep the ... Each show has taught me something, regardless of how pointless or unrealistic the show may seem. One show that I have been I an avid fan of since grade school is Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Throughout the series Buffy really discovers who she is. She starts the series as a high school girl who wants absolutely nothing to do with being a vampire slayer, but by the end of the series she trains potential slayers and leads the fight The First. Buffy showed me that you can start off knowing nothing and being an outcast, and still become the greatest at what you do. Michelle obamaused different rhetorical appeals during her speech. Michelle used lots of emotions and persuasive language to connect with the audience in front of her. Pathos is an appeal to emotion, and is a way of convincing an audience of an argument by creating an emotional response. For an example Michelle says, Strong men who are truly role models don t need to put down women to make themselves feel powerful (Obama, 2016). This is an example of pathos because it is using emotion towards something that is being done to females. She is trying to get men to stop doing what they are doing to women by using emotion to show how hurtful it actually is. The emotion she is getting at is pride which men have a lot of. • 36. The Faerie Queen By Edmund Spencer The Faerie Queen by Edmund Spencer uses erotic and mystifying dreams to provide insight into the representation of gender relations; it is through women that the emotional state of desire as well as terror is experienced. Throughout the epic women dominate the visions experienced by the knights which sometimes makes the dreams more complex and difficult to interpret. Interestingly, the male counterparts within the context of the epic explore controversial implications of their virtues as men, because of how they conceptualize women within their dreams. In the first canto of the epic the Red Cross Knight conceptualizes Una in his dream as a deceiver. However, it is Archimago that is responsible for Kinght s sense of deception as he sends an emissary to the underworld to acquire a fit false dreame (I.i.43.9) with the sole purpose of taunting the Red Cross Knight. Archimago wants to take advantage of his thoughts and feeling towards Una. The Red Cross Knight is tormented by the dream of Una , and yet is plagued once again by Archimago who sends a springht, that feigning dreame, and that faire forged Spright (I.ii.2.2) to give the knight with a vision of Una engaging sexually in an illicit manner. • 38. Jesus Christ ( Christology ) Jesus Christ (Christology) I believe Jesus is fully God and fully man (Phil 2:6 11), one person with two natures, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary (Luke 1:34 38), accredited by God through miracles, wonders and signs which God did through Him, died on the cross to justify all sinners who believe in Him from God s wrath (1 Pet 3:18; Rom 5:9), arose from the dead (Acts 2:23 24) and is now at the right hand of God the Father (Heb 8:1), and will come again to establish His kingdom (Matt 26:64). The conception by the Holy Spirit instead of by the line of descent from Adam, and the virgin birth by Mary together show that the unity of fully divine and fully human in one person of Jesus and the source of salvation from the Holy God instead of from human including Mary (Gen. 3:15; Luke 1:35) Jesus is one person (hypostatic union and not Nestorianism for two persons) with two distinct wills (centers of consciousness) belong to the two preserved natures (Mark 13:32; John 2:25, 16:30, 21:17, not Apollinarianism for one divine nature nor Eutychianism for one mixed new nature) The Lord Jesus preexists with God, was God and is God (John 1:1). He, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God but made himself a man (Phil 2:6 8) without losing any of His divine attributes (Col 1:19, 2:9). According to McWhirter et al (2013), the social support networks of the larger community also help to ameliorate the effects of stress on children (p. 131). Adolescents rely on their peers, youth leaders, coaches, and teachers to help them develop resilience. One of the risks of depending on peers to help develop resilience is peer group pressure can be either a very powerful ally or a formidable antagonist, dissuading or encouraging problem behavior (McWhirter et al, 2013, p. 116). As a result, it is imperative for adolescents to choose their friends wisely, especially if they come from a difficult home background. School and community environments help adolescents develop the skills they need to overcome their difficulties (McWhirter et al, 2013, p. 146). • 46. Camera Track Research Paper Changing the look of a camera strap is a fun way to accessorize and show off personality. Getting a new look does not mean having to buy a new strap. By using an old belt, several swivel hooks, scissors and a sewing machine, the look of the previous strap can be completely changed. First the scissors should be used to cut the excess material off of the belt, including the holes that are used to adjust the belt size. The length should then be checked by wrapping the belt around the neck, ensuring that it is long enough to fit comfortably. If the belt is too short, the project should be started again using a longer belt. The belt should be placed on a sturdy table or bench with the decorative side facing up. • 47. Maudie s Role Model As the renowned American writer Ralph Waldo Emerson once have said, To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment. Many minor characters in To Kill a Mockingbird especially reflect what Emerson said. A major theme surrounding this acclaimed classic involves various social stigmas in early 20th century Alabama. Scout Finch, a precocious girl learns many valuable lessons throughout the book, while she faces many social adversaries such as racism and the pressure to conform under the expectations of being a women. For instance, while Aunt Alexandra is stiff and traditional, Miss Maudie is a chameleon lady who worked in her flower beds in an old straw hat and men s coveralls (Lee 42). Despite having some different values, Miss Maudie has no problem resuming life in a dress, and does not step out of line. In this way, she shows Scout the possibility of being a lady without giving up individuality and values. Miss Maudie also provides Scout a place where she can enjoy herself, welcoming the latter into her own home, especially when Jem and Dill exclude her. Scout describes their neighborly relationship, We could play on her lawn, eat her scuppernongs if we didn t jump on the arbor, and explore her vast back lot, terms so generous we seldom spoke to her, so careful were we to preserve the delicate balance of our relationship, but Jem and Dill drove me closer to her with their behavior (Lee 42). With no real friends other than Jem and Dill, this place is essential to her wellbeing, and Maudie not only becomes a positive role model for Scout, but a friend. Miss Maudie also shows Scout how to live more freely by not caring about what others think. According to Miss Maudie, Footwashers believe anything that s pleasure is a sin. Did you know some of em came out of the woods one Saturday and passed by this place and told me me and my flowers were going to hell? (Lee 44). Here Miss Maudie shows Scout that enjoyment is more important than others opinions. The foot washing Baptists make it clear that they do not approve of Miss Maudie s ways of life of indulgence, but she doesn t let the disdain affect her. Miss Maudie knows that she would much rather spend her ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
