Star Life Cycle
The life cycle of star is on an eternal cycle of birth, death and regeneration where the gases that form
stars are ejected by the very stars when they die. This all starts with the helium gas and fusion of
hydrogen. The life cycle of a star is formed from stellar nebula to high mass stars and low mass stars.
Hertzsprung and Russell classified stars on the main sequence of the H R diagram about 1910 that
shows the relationship between luminosities and spectral types.
Stellar Nebula A nebula contains dust and gas where gravity causes these to group together. Before the
star is formed, the protostar will need to attain hydrostatic equilibrium by balancing the gravity getting
atoms in and pushing heat and light out with radiation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They are very bright since they have large diameters, but with low surface temperatures compared to
the Sun. When the helium in the core is completely used the core collapses again.
Planetary Nebula Planetary nebula are formed in the outer core of the star that are vanished when the
star of the Sun s mass changes from a red giant to white dwarf. At this stage all the energy from the
star fades away losing layers and forms a complex structure. White Dwarf White dwarf is very small
with diameter as the Earth and mass similar to the Sun formed when the core of red giant collapsed.
The maximum mass a white dwarf can have is about 1.4 solar masses which is known as
Chandrasekhar limit. A single star can be one mass at the start of life and still evolve into a white
dwarf being 0.6 mass compressed into approximately the volume of the Earth. Even though it is hot, it
is not as bright compared to its temperature of more than 8000° C. However, they cool down and fade
over billions of years.

Analyzing Soderbergh s Traffic
CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION
Films are arguably the most synthetic medium for storytelling, combining music, visual design,
dialogue, performance, and plot into one package. Each one of these elements might be considered a
platform with which to create a narrative, but it is the combination of individual components that
ultimately separates the great movies from the merely mediocre.
Cinema is frequently watched by the populace of all ages and genders but the color symbolism of the
visual aspect is rarely paid attention to.
The Director of a film, working closely with the Director of Photography creates a color palette, based
on the genre and mood of the film. Viewers can correctly judge the genre of the film, looking at just its
hues; warm red tones for romance, de saturated colors for post apocalyptic films. Color is an ... Show

Viewers can instantly tell where characters are and what part of the story they are watching.
Soderbergh said The issue of how to distinguish the three stories visually arose about and I decided for
the East Coast stuff, tungsten film with no filter on it so that we get that really cold, monochrome blue
feel. For San Diego, diffusion filters, flashing the film, overexposure for a warmer blossomy feel. And
for Mexico, tobacco filters, 45 degree shutter angle whenever possible to give it a strobelike sharp
feel. Figure 2 A still from Ex Machina (2014)
Alex Garland released his directorial debut, Ex Machina. Aside from receiving widespread praise for
its creative plot and philosophical commentary on artificial intelligence, his use of color is what really
stands out in nearly every scene in this film.
A brief study of color symbolism is presented henceforth to provide sufficient information on a subject
that is not widely discussed or written

Should Textbooks Still Be Used In School
Print Textbooks should still be Used in School Which is easier to use in class: a print textbook or an
electronic tablet? These devices are very convenient for school because of their portability and
interactivity. Should printed textbooks still be used in school? Textbooks are definitely easier and
should still be used in school. Why? Even though tablets are convenient, print textbooks should still
be used because textbooks are more accessible, physical and are easier to integrate. What does it mean
for a textbook to be accessible? An accessible object is one that can be easily approached, reached,
and entered. An accessible textbook can be easily read. Print textbooks are definitely easier to use than
electronic ones because they are not distracting and are available everywhere. These small devices are
filled with distractions. With a normal class book all that is needed to reach the wanted topic is to flip
pages. However, with a tablet, there are plenty of distractions. Parents are worried that their children
will get distracted from reading by videos ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many people appreciate the smell of the paper and the feeling of holding it in our hands (Marcovitz

not know how or why they should use electronic devices for reading. It s no wonder that a lot of the
people I talk to are confused by ebooks. They don t know which way to turn, which e reader to use, or
why they should even use them (Merkoski 161). It is important for children to know what a real book
is like. Without the balance of children holding and touching and learning how to take care of a book,
you run the risk of children losing a sense of what books are and how they feel... you lose the
understanding on how they came to be (66 67). Only using electronic devices for reading loses a

the plans and develop the prototype on his own later got help by two other paying engineers.
3. The idea was later rethought and accepted after Boer wrote a four page paper essay to certain
supervisors to proceed.
C. The first home videogame was called Pong, later on different games were developed.
Transition 2: Now eight generations and hundreds of consoles later, we have different consoles and
upgrades in different mostly famous certain companies.
II. Explaining the history of certain video game consoles and their years of upgrade.
A. The Nintendo Company has the most consoles with bigger upgrades (Nintendo s History, 1997).
1. Nintendo did first start of as a card game company in the late 1880 s and the home video game

William Shakespeare s Antigone

ENGL 330 Studies in World Literature

Hubris and Drama in Antigone Hubris may be categorized as two things. As a part of the Greek theater
hubris qualifies as being the intentional use of violence to humiliate or degrade (Luebering). However,
a more modern qualification defines hubris as exaggerated pride or self confidence (Hubris).
Throughout Antigone both of these different characterizations of the word hubris can be found in
specific events and characters. Being a Greek tragedy, it is evident that the concept of hubris plays a
very important role in the development of characters and provides the reasoning for why each person
does what they do. Much of the drama in this play is born from either excessive pride or from the
unnecessary violence against sacred rituals or those who perform them. However, it is also possible to
notice characters who fall outside of this hubris and rather choose to fight against it. By going against
this traditional Greek dramatic element these characters highlight the injustices that are being
displayed by those they are going against. Overall, the impact that hubris has had on this tragedy and
on the culture as whole affects how each of the characters either use hubris to advance both
themselves and their goals, or choose to fight against it for the good of those around them. The
incorporation of hubris into Antigone can be visualized specifically by examining two characters in
particular. The first character is

Comparing Two Kinds And Rules Of The Game, By Amy Tan
What are the difficulties of being in two cultures and when your mother tries to change you or when
you re being used? These challenges can be seen in Amy Tan s short stories Two Kinds and Rules of
the Game. Both of the main characters are young Chinese American girls that have a hard time with
their mothers and struggle with a clash of culture. Also both of their mother s sacrifice for them to
make sure they have a better future for their daughter. In Rules of the Game Waverly is a chess
prodigy who feels like her mother is using her and gets agitated when her mother brags about her. In
Two Kinds June who is forced to play the piano by her mother and trying to change her into
something else. The character s struggles through their action and words reveals that both the
characters are rebellious, have difficult time with their mother, and struggle with being in clash of two
different cultures. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Why Become A Nutritionist
Despite the fact that I have enrolled in DTC 101, I currently have no intentions on becoming a

the fall semester I have decided to enroll in DTC 101 as during the time it has peaked my interest and
curiosity. Hopefully by the end of this course, I will enjoy it and have a greater understanding towards

The Ban On Tobacco Advertising
On Feb 6, 2001, Government of India announced a bill banning Tobacco Companies from advertising
their products and sponsoring sports and cultural events. The objective was to discourage adolescents
from consuming tobacco products and also arm the Government with powers to launch an anti
Tobacco Program.
Summarize the arguments for the ban on tobacco advertising in India.
Advocates of free choice opposed to these prohibitions, saying these amounted to unwarranted
intrusion by the state into the private lives of its citizens.
Supporters stay countries like France, Finland, and Norway had already imposed similar bans.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), tobacco accounted for over 3 million deaths in
1990, the figure rising to 4.023 million deaths in 1998. It was estimated that tobacco related deaths
would increase to 8.4 million in 2020 and 10 million in about 2030.
However, a study on tobacco consumption and employment showed that effective policies to reduce
smoking were likely to increase, and not decrease employment. The reason for this was that when
people stopped smoking, the money did not disappear from the economy. It was spent on other goods
and services, which the study showed, were more labor intensive.
A World Bank report had pointed out that policymakers who wanted to control tobacco should be
aware of the fact that bans on advertising and promotion would prove effective, only if they were
comprehensive covering all media and all uses of brand

The Universal Intracellular Messenger, Calcium ( Ca2 + )
The universal intracellular messenger, Calcium (Ca2+ ) regulates a wide range of cellular processes
such as gene transcription, muscle contraction and cell proliferation. Ca2+ diffuses into organelles
such as mitochondria and the nucleus as it is elevated in the cytosol (Martin D Bootman, 2006). Ca2+
is suited to this role as an intracellular messenger as it is a divalent cation and therefore it can form
more stable complexes with other compounds compared to monovalent ions like magnesium and
chloride. Moreover, Ca2+ has a larger radius and a stable electron configuration which provides
flexibility that allows the formation of bonds with coordination sites that have irregular geometry
(Bading, 2013). Although Ca2+ is important for cells the cytosolic concentration is maintained at a
nanomolar concentration. Therefore, cells have obtained different ways to cope with this situation by
reducing their cytosolic levels (Clapham, 2007). Ca2+ concentration inside cells is controlled by
counteracting processes that act as on and off mechanisms based on whether they serve to increase or
decrease cytosolic Ca2+ levels (Martin D Bootman, 2006). Ca2+ cannot be chemically altered within
cells. Therefore to control Ca2+, cells must chelate, compartmentalize or extrude it in order to
maintain nanomolar concentrations of the ion (Clapham, 2007). Ca2+ on mechanisms consist of
channels located at the plasma membrane (PM) that controls the amount of Ca2+ entering the
intracellular Ca2+

Penguins Fans are Banned From Wearing Attire at Lightning Games Penguins fans are riding high

The Lightning organization is clearly reacting harshly to other fans after last year s Stanley Cup
Championship series. Not because they lost to the Chicago Blackhawks, but because Amalie Arena
was flowing in red. What a shocker! An Original Six team has a huge following around the country.
But this isn t the first time the team has tried to prevent fans from enjoying a game. Last year during
the playoffs, fans living out of state could not purchase any tickets. Making it easier for Lightning fans
to get their tickets first. However, the team must forget where they are located. People all over the
country move to Florida, mostly for retirement. They may have left their home, but they will never
turn their back on their home team. There is some good news for fans who are not aware of this policy.
The arena will either allow you to 1) check your gear at Guest Services , 2) be granted a re entry pass
to placed your attire in your car or hotel room, 3) relocate their seats, or 4) forfeit their tickets and
request refund. Judging by the reaction on social media, many fans will go in guns ablazing, with
sticks of course, to protest this policy. They ll wear their Penguins jersey or two other Pittsburgh black

The market of bricks presented significant changes with the introduction of concrete blocks as the

much lower quantities (Figure 2), whereas the manufacturing of facing bricks have expanded
significantly and currently is described by several products with different colours, textures, surfaces

declined considerably due to competition from concrete and plastic pipes. The only products that show
an increase in demand are roofing tiles, which have become more popular recently (BGS, 2007).

option. Two schematic diagrams describing the manufacturing processes are presented in Figure 3 and

The Greeks, Non Greeks And Expressions Of Humanism
A. Greeks, Non Greeks and Expressions of Humanism
Throughout history, the concept of humanism has changed and in a way evolved over the years. Many
believe that humanism began with the early Greek civilizations, but there are many instances of non
Greek expressions of humanism. From Hammurabi s Code in Mesopotamia, to the Romans art and
sculptures, and lastly the way the Egyptians viewed their Pharaoh s as leaders with supreme
importance.
Humanism is a term that has become synonymous with human and natural rights. One of the earliest
expressions of human rights is Hammurabi s Code of Laws. Hammurabi s laws were often recognized
because of the harsh punishments that would occur if you broke a certain rules. If a man put out the
eye of another man, his eye shall be put out. (*) In other words an eye for an eye has to be one of the
most notorious laws that s written in Hammurabi s Code. But, one of the most frequent of penalties of
the various 282 laws was death (@). Even though to many people these laws would be considered
extremely harsh, these laws became a model for future law systems. These laws set an example that
for every improper action there would be a proper punishment that would follow. But, the main
problem with these laws was that they were very vague and don t consider other possibilities such as
religion.
There are many different ways that humanism could be expressed. Specifically the Romans loved to
express humanism through their numerous sculptures

What Is The Theme Of Coole Park
Assignment 1: Close Reading Coole Park, 1929 is a poem written by W.B Yeats. This poem is part of
the works the poet wrote in the third phase of his career; a phase characterized by the retrospective of
his personal experience within the framework of Irish history. Through this poem, W.B Yeats broaches
the theme of memory, the artistic creation and pays tribute to Lady Gregory and her estate.
Memory is a central theme in Coole Park . This poem is constituted of four stanzas of eight verses
each, all structured in Iambic pentameters. Each stanza is written in Ottava Rima, a very popular
poetic form associated to Italian epic poems during the Renaissance. This rhyming stanza form refers
to the past and permits to the poet to broach ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the ninth verse, the poet gives a symbolic dimension to a blade; There Hyde before he had beaten
into prose; That noble blade the Muses buckled on (v9 10). Here, the alliteration in b reinforces the
musicality of the verse. In the verses twelve and thirteen, the poet paints a portrait of Douglas Hyde
and John Synge. The full rhyme pose (v11) and those (v13) associates the two characters. The
repetition of the words There and that in the stanza emphasizes the descriptive dimension of the verses
(v9, v10, v11, v13). The musicality of the stanza is enhanced by the internal rhyme of the verse 14;
Impetuous men, Shawe Taylor and Hugh Lane . In the third stanza, these literary figures are compared
to swallows; They came like swallows and like swallows went (v17). This imagery of the swallows
echoes with the first verse of the poem. Lady Gregory s depiction of a poet s guide is emphasized by
an enjambment between the verse eighteen and nineteen. Finally, Coole Park is described as the heart
of artistic creation through a comparison to a compass point attracting half a dozen of poets in creative
effervescence

The journey of prehistoric human culture on the Texas coast begins with how hunting and gathering
populations adapted to the opportunities and limitations of their shoreline and nearby prairie
environments. All the while using limited technology strengthened by first hand knowledge about the
location and seasonal availability of important subsistence resources within their homeland. Before
my bioregion is explored, its best that I depict the history of the state that I live that spreads across the

The coastal population density was moderately high, and people spent much of the annual cycle living
in large shoreline fishing camps that housed several hundred people during peak fishing seasons. The
coastline as we see it today is, from a geologic perspective, a very recent phenomenon that dates back
only about 3,000 years. In fact, prior to around 8,000 B.C., the area of the modern shoreline was high
and dry, with the Gulf coast far to the east of its present position. This is because, in earlier millennia,
global sea level was as much as 300 feet lower, with much of the world s water supply inaccessible in
vast continental ice sheets and montane glaciers that were far more extensive than those of modern
times. The Pleistocene era, or Ice Age, had markedly lower global temperatures than those of
historical times. The final cold phase of the Pleistocene was around 20,000 years ago, after which
rising global temperatures caused the continental ice sheets and mountain glaciers to begin a gradual
melting process, with the result that sea level began to rise rapidly over the next 10,000 years (Hester,
1995).
As sea level rose, shorelines around the world moved progressively father inland. By 8,000 B.C. the

The disappointment of 1844 is briefly recorded in the parable, by the statement that the Bridegroom
tarried i.e., he seemed to the expectant ones to tarry. And the confusion and darkness experienced by
all, and the many false and visionary views entered into by some who were there disappointed, are
shown in the parable by the statement: While the Bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
Yea, and in their darkness and slumber many of them dreamed strange, unreasonable things. But the
parable shows a second movement, similar, and yet different, among the same virgins. The same
general class is referred to but not necessarily the same individuals. As the first movement was the
result of light upon the prophecy, regarding the time for Messiah s second advent as the Bridegroom
of the Church, so was the second movement. But there are several differences. In the first, the lamps
of all the virgins burned alike, and the company expecting the Bridegroom was mixed; whereas in the
second movement, while all will be aroused, only those will be led out who have the spirit of the truth
in their hearts, as well as a knowledge of the Bible a trimmed lamp. Disappointment was predicted for
the first movement, and waiting for the 1335 days was necessary; but the second was not a

Examples Of Power In Frankenstein
Imagine a world where people are exactly alike and also have the same amount of power in the
society: the reality is that it would be extremely monotonous. The power is one of the features of a
human life and society which is able to completely transform an individual but also a country, as a
leader gains and tries to maintain his capacity of instilling rules and relationships that often reflect the
true morality, ethics and aspirations of his person. To begin with, once a leader imposes a control of
power, he is able to attain anything he desires, which is possible to be not for a good of the people, but
the head of the country and other politicians, which all can unexpectedly result in dictatorship. Equally
important, it is ordinarily understood ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Leaders have to be strong to do what is necessary to maintain power amid fierce competition , even
when it may require unethical behavior because if not, a leader would not accomplish his goals
(Lewis). Support for this point of view can also be found in Frankenstein because Victor Frankenstein
holds the initial power as a creator; but, even with his seniority over the creature, he loses it
eventually, and it is the creature who regains and maintains it for the rest of the story by his ability of
fast learning and not being afraid of unethical behaviors like revenge. Consequently, Victor uses terms
like vile insect , devil , monster , and daemon in an attempt of trying to maintain and present authority
and remind the creature of his place in the relationship, but also to emphasize the creature s non
human status, his place, and his origins (Shelley 169). This position is supported by Zanaca, who
states that the main sources of power include, superior resources, superior numbers, and superior
organization , which means that the ability to transpire ideas and achieve power by different planning
will pay off better than simply the seniority because power relations occur in all societies and
organized groups (Zanca). Comparatively, The New York Times approves this position because of the
fact that power in Congress does not mean one needs seniority. For this reason, Eric R. Seeman argues
that seniority is the single most important determinant of a representative s power , which leads to
voters reelecting occupants to Congress and establishing rankings. In 1974, the Democratic Party
adopted new rules to open the committee chairmanships to all party members and insist other basis
than seniority in determining the position

Subject Matter Jurisdiction In Criminal Justice
Define Jurisdiction.
According to dictionary.com, jurisdiction is the right, power, or authority to administer justice by
hearing and determining controversies (dictionary.com, n.d.). An example of jurisdiction would be the
courts of limited jurisdiction which is where small cases and criminal disputes that involves small
amounts of money is decided. Also, subject matter jurisdiction and in personam jurisdiction are
another type of jurisdiction. According to our textbook, subject matter jurisdiction is a court s power
to decide the type of dispute involved in the case (Mallory et al, 2016). In personam jurisdiction is
based on residence, location, or activities of the defendant (Mallory et al, 2016). So, a state court
would have in personam jurisdiction over a defendant who are citizens of the state, who consents to
court s authority or who are within states borders when the process is served on them (Mallory et al,
2016). On what bases could a private dispute be decided in Federal Court?
A private dispute can be decided in Federal Court if the case is between citizens of different states and
if the amount in controversy exceeds $75,000 (Mallory et al, 2016). For example, if I met someone

help satisfy the judgement (Mallory et al., 2016). Then, a judgement winner would use a procedure
known as garnishment to seize the defendant property, money, and wages to give to a third party like
the bank or employer. According to our textbook, it states that the U.S. Constitution must give full
faith and credit to the judgment of the state in which the plaintiff originally sued (Mallory et al.,

The Importance Of Kinship In Cultural Anthropology
Kingsborough Community College
Importance of Kinship in cultural anthropology
Student: Amulang Mantsynov
Professor: Igor Pashkovskiy
Kinship has traditionally been one of the key topics in social and cultural anthropology. There are two
primary reasons for this. First, although not all communities are constituted on the basis of kinship, all
humans have a kinship as individuals and are related to other individuals through it. Second, for the
sorts of tribal, classless, economically unspecialized societies that anthropologists have mostly though
no longer exclusively studied, kinship has appeared to be the main or even sole form of social
organization. These observations led various theoretical approaches, especially the schools of
functionalism and structuralism within social anthropology, to focusing on how social groups are
formed. They got interested in studying of how individuals are related to one another through kinship,
and what kinds of mutual rights and duties they have as a result. (R. Parkin. Kinship)
Parkin (2012) also points out that unlike the functionalists and structuralists, cultural anthropologists,
elected to focus more greatly on the symbolic rather than socio practical aspects of kinship. They are
interested in the meanings attached to being a particular sort of relative. They also study how symbols
of and perspectives on an individual, the body, and gender tell kinship ideas and practices. In broad
terms, a study of kingship from the symbolic standpoint has prevailed in America since the beginning
of the twentieth century and periodically has been reinvented and by the 1970s become more
influential in world anthropology, especially in its poststructuralist phase. The field of study of a
kinship can be divided into three major categories: descent (that is, relations between generations);
affinity (marriage); and siblingship. However, the siblingship hasn t been studied as widely as the first
two categories. (R. Parkin. Kinship).
By the definition provided in the New Dictionary of Cultural Literacy, kinship is a relation between
two or more persons that is based on common ancestry (descent) or marriage (affinity). In his work

Essay on My Philosophy of Teaching
Philosophy of Education
Before a person goes into the education field, most have to do a lot of thinking to make sure that what
they are beginning is something that they will truly enjoy doing. Teachers do not go into their
profession for fame and fortune. They are there to educate children for a lifetime of learning.
Teaching is not something that I have had to think about. Teaching is something I have felt drawn to
ever since I was three or four years old playing school with my cousins. I have known that I wanted to
teach all of my life. Naturally I went through the I want to be a doctor, a firefighter, an astronaut, a
lawyer phase, but teaching is the only thing that I have ever really felt like I would enjoy. Spending ...

Once this is done then the school year can begin. The second role of the teacher comes from the
Behaviorist Philosophy, the controller of behavior. The teacher has to set rules that his/her students are
able to understand. Along with the rules the teacher needs to have consequences that the students will
have to pay if these rules are broken. A teacher must be consistent and treat all of his/her students the
same no matter what he/she know about the student or the student s past tendencies. The consequences
must be fair and suit the misbehavior. Also, like the Existentialists, I feel that the teacher has to be a
mediator. If the teacher notices that nay of his/her students are having problems with anyone else, the
teacher needs to step in and get the students to try to work their problems out in a reasonable way.
Being with the Progressivists, I feel that the teacher should be a guide for his/her students and a
director of learning. The teacher must guide his/her students to realize that they have to make their
own decisions. The children must realize that they do not have to do or say anything unless they want
to. The teacher has to be the one to show this to the students, otherwise they may never be told this.
Finally, as the director of learning the teacher has to encourage his/her students that learning is fun. If
the children do not understand something, the teacher is the one who has to make the time to explain it
better to the students. The

Analysis Of The Boy In The Box
Out of all homicide cases in the US, about one third of them end up unsolved. The unfortunate murder
of The Boy In The Box is no exception. The spine chilling case of The Boy In The Box is about the
devastating death of a little boy found in Philidelphia and no one knows who or what killed him. The
mysterious death left many investigators baffled about who the boy was and how he died. Many
people from different places developed their own theories to conclude his death, but like any other
theories, there s always something that disproves them.
In February of 1957, a man came across a big box that contained what he thought was a doll, but upon
further inspection, he found out that he had actually discovered the body of a little boy. ... Show more

The hat was made by Hannah Robbins who remembered the man because the cap was costume made
to have a leather strap and a buckle added. She described the man to be: blonde, between the ages of
26 30. She said that he paid in cash and that she never saw him again. This lead to detectives
searching over 100 stores nearby but they eventually got nowhere. The next and last clue about the
poor boy s mysterious case was the box he was found in. The box was from a JCPenny store 15 miles
away. The investigators used the serial number on the box in which they later traced down and found
out that it had previously contained a bassinet. 12 boxes of the bassinets were shipped but there was
no record because since all 12 paid in cash. 8 out of the 12 people who bought the bassinets called to
clarify that they had either thrown the box away or still have it.
Apart from the clues given they still had one more mystery to solve and it was who the boy was.
Investigators still wanted to continue with the case so they kept the boy in a morgue. Many people
from 10 different stated came to look at the boy to see if he was a missing family member.
Unfortunately, nobody claimed him. Foot prints and fingerprints of the boy were taken and compared
to hospital records but nothing was found. 400,000 flyers of the boy were sent out and even the AMA
sent out a description but nothing came through. The fact that there is no proof that the boy even
existed led to many theories of who

The Role Of Jealousy In Othello
The Role of Jealousy in Othello.
The drama Othello , is well known, for the way Shakespeare was able to make the audience focus on
the destructive and corrupting power of jealousy.
The theme jealousy in the drama Othello causes the major problems for the characters in the story.
Jealousy in the story can be seen in two different views, which are:
a) The destructive power of sexual jealousy.
b) The jealousy of power and position.
Sexual jealousy was exhibited as one of the destructive factors of jealousy that leads to tragic
occasions for characters in the play. Othello was made to be sexually jealous by Iago about the way
Desdemona was cheating on him with Cassio. For instance, when Iago told Othello Well, there you

In the first seen, Iago shows of his jealously was right at the beginning of the play, he said Mere
prattle without practice is all his soldier ship. But he sir, had th election (Shakespeare.1.1.26 27). This
helps to show Iago s jealousy towards Cassio as he wanted to be the Lutenant to Othello, for all his
service he has done for Othello.
Also, Iago was jealous of Othello s relationship with Desdemona. For instance when Iago says It
cannot be that Desdemona should long continue her love to the Moor/She must change for youth
(Shakespeare 1.3.378 382). This quote furthers shows how Iago was jealous for Othello and
Desdemona s love. Desdemona is the daughter of a well respected Senate, and she is much known for
her beauty, and it seems like all the men in Venice in one way wanted to her as their wife, and Othello,
who is a moor cannot just marry Desdemona.
Furthermore, Iago was jealous of Othello from the fact that he hated him, even if he was given the
position or not. For instance where Iago said Though I do hate him as I do hell pains, yet, for necessity
of present life, I must show out a flag and sign of love which is indeed but sign (Shakespeare (1.1.171
174). This quote helps to show how Iago will always hate Othello no matter what happens, he will
always seek pleasure going against

The Life Of Mary Shelley s Life
The Life of Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley
It has been said on many occasions, by many individuals, that truth is stranger than fiction. Mary
Shelley s life, saturated as it was by sorrow and coincidence, serves as very strong evidence of this
statement s veracity. From the circumstances of her birth to her passionate life and the end of her days,
Mary Shelley led a life far more interesting than any work of fiction could hope to imitate.
Mary Shelley was born Mary Wollstonecraft Godwin to Mary Wollstonecraft and William Godwin at
Somer s Town, a district of central London, on August 30, 1797.
Twelve days after giving birth to her daughter Mary Wollstonecraft Godwin, Mary Wollstonecraft died
of puerperal fever. William dealt with his grief over the loss of his wife by writing a moving account
of her life, titled Memoirs of the Author of The Rights of Woman . The biography was received
negatively due to the detailed accounts of Mary s liaisons with Imlay and her suicide attempt. The
honesty of the text in these regards led to the temporary destruction of Mary Wollstonecraft s already
polarized reputation. William s reputation was also crumbling at the time, as his reformist ideals were
losing popularity in the wake of the French Revolution. The care of Fanny and newborn Mary was left
to William, although female friends and maids attended to the practical issues of parenting.
Mary spent many long hours by her mother s grave in the churchyard of St Pancras Old Church, and

The Factors Affecting The Work Environment On Health...
Literature Review In the recent years, there has been viable evidence that shows that other factors in
the work environment may also be strong push factors for retention (Burns, Bradley and Weiner, 2012,
pg.445). The factors that contribute to forcing workers to leave the public sector include: workload
and staff shortages are contributing to burnout, high absenteeism, stress, depression, low morale, and
de motivation (Burns, Bradley and Weiner, 2012, pg.445). It is also shown that poor working
conditions also contributes to preventing staff morale and motivation and it also contributes directly to
recruitment and retention (Burns, Bradley and Weiner, 2012, pg445). According to Burns, Bradley and
Weiner (2012), one strategy being used to alleviate health worker shortages and to improve access and
quality of health services is task shifting, or the delegation of tasks that would traditionally fall within
the scope of practice of doctors or nurses to other health who have undergone shorter periods of
training (Burns, Bradley and Weiner, 2012, pg.445). In so by implementing task shifting, the work
load that all nurses have to handle on a daily basis is split up with easier duties falling on other health
professionals with less experience. Also another strategy of combating nursing retention is by offering
nonfinancial incentives instead of financial incentives which can help to motivate workers (Burns,
Bradley and Weiner, 2012, pg.444). The offering on nonfinancial

such as depressed mood and disturbed sleep patterns. Depending on the nature of the intake form, in
this case, mental health, the form may ask questions about suicide, to identify if the client has had any
thoughts of suicide in the past or currently having suicidal thoughts now. The intake forms ask many
questions regarding the client s mental health to assess what services and treatments that client may

Burt s Bees is an interesting case, which discusses the success story of an all natural skin care

and immediately started acting upon this opportunity to create the best skin care company in the
world. It was interesting to notice how Roxanne and the co founder Burt Shovitz started the concept of
natural skin care products just for the extra income and then went on to make it their core product of
the company. This is the best example of an unpredictable market. Another interesting factor of the
company is its use of natural products, keeping in mind the environment. The company doesn t test its

heavy survey methods to know what customers are actually looking for in their products, what are
they missing, what are their desires. Time changes and so do people and their tastes. I feel Burt s Bees
should have continuous updates on what is desired by its customers and be more in touch with them to
get the sales. Secondly, I also feel the company should invest a certain lump for its advertisement. It
lacks a lot behind in this area as compared to its customers. I did not know the company s name until
this case study. So, I feel it should also work towards its advertisement. Since, this is the world of
technologies; Burt s Bees should have its hands on the latest technologies out there to make it products
up to the mark. It would also save some labor costs. As far as financial aspect is concerned, as I have
mentioned in my earlier discussions, I very strongly believe that the most important concern of the
company is that it should never run out of cash. Burt s Bees may come up with the best product and
use the best technology available but it would be of no use if it runs out of cash. Hence, they should be
very cautious towards their cost of goods sold and that its expenses never exceed its income/cash flow.
I understand certain factors stated here are not directly related to creating a presence in market but I
very strongly believe that indirectly

Generators Primary Cooling Water Circuit functioning :
In order to distinguish the treated water from the secondary coolant (raw water, condensator etc.) it is

The secondary cooling absorbs the heat from the primary cooler when water is circulated in a closed

Looking at the brief history of Boeing, the company was first founded in Puget Sound, Washington in

of aircrafts can take very long lead times. It can take about 15 20 years to develop a next generation

This may act as a barrier of entry for potential new entrants. Illustrating the third force which is Power

There are only 3 main competitors in the commercial jet engine making industry which operates as an
oligopoly. Historically, all of these companies have competed with each other for jet engine contracts
which led to intense price wars. To avert ruinous price wars, these companies typically enter into
exclusive supplier contracts with aircraft manufacturers. In such arrangements, the engine maker
becomes the sole provider of jet engines for a specific aircraft model.
In addition, the big jet engine makers give heavily discounted price, partly to lock in lucrative long

engine makers.
On the other hand, for the power of customers,
Airlines usually buy new jets under long term fixed price contracts. This effectively shifts the financial

as the Wat Tyler Revolt. Walter Tyler was more regularly known as Wat Tyler and the leader of the

Start timing as soon as it starts to react with the hydrochloric acid. When it has finished reacting,
measure how much gas was produced and clear the syringe and then clear the stop watch and repeat
this twice with every different temperature. Scientific theory:
In a chemical reaction no mass is lost, when the reactants turn in to the product of the reaction,
chemical reactions involve a permanent change not just a temporary one.
For this to happen their hast to be a change in energy as reactions always give out or take in energy
most of the time this is heat energy this means the temperature in a reaction will go up or down.
Visible changes can occur in the reaction mixture. These show that a reaction has taken place, for
example a gad is given off or a solid is made or the colour changes.
Oxidation this happens with most substances usually forming an oxide
e.g. magnesium if not kept in a solution then it will react with oxygen forming magnesium oxide.
Exothermic (give out heat) the reaction supplies the energy as heat.
The heat energy is given to the surroundings; the temperature might go up making it feel hot.
Temperature by changing the temperature in a experiment you are effecting the rate of reaction by
heating it you are making the experiment go faster because you are making the particles react faster
giving a higher chance of a collision happing and if you drop you are causing the

The Vietnam War Film Genre
The Vietnam film is a specific sub genre of the conventional Hollywood war film that arose as a result
of the 1960s counter culture. According to Elliot Stegall s article Ideological, Dystopic, and
Antimythopoetic Formations of Masculinity in the Vietnam War Film many American war films
depicted the glorification of war and emphasized the concept of American masculinity (Stegall).
Previous to the Vietnam period, Hollywood war films stuck to contemporary tropes. These films often
re enact the idea of good versus evil in which the male hero of the film triumphantly fights for their
country against a vilified enemy; thus reinforcing the American ideology of conquering the frontier
(Schweitzer 67). The hollywood war films are often enjoyable ... Show more content on

In Rich Schweitzer s article Born to Kill: S. Kubrick s Full Metal Jacket as Historical Representation
of America s Experience in Vietnam , he comments on the military s concern with: how to inculcate
civilians reared in a western tradition, which emphasized the sanctity of life, with a willingness to kill
(Schweitzer 64). Schweitzer s observation is most prominently debated in the beginning of the film.
Split into three segments, the film illustrates the phases of re birth, life, and death. The opening
sequence depicts re birth through the physical stripping of the individual identity. As the hair of the
recruits is shaved off while the men wear the same dull blue capes, their faces begin to blur together
into one unified identity. This is then furthered when the recruits are forced to say an oath to their
rifles during the beginning of their military training on Parris Island. The scene is shot from one point
perspective and displaying prominent symmetry in the composition. The room is stark and clinical.
The recruits are all dressed in white which is a colour often associated with innocence. The men lay on
their bunks in a head to toe formation which parallels with the scene of the mass Vietnamese grave in
which the bodies are laid in the same manner and covered in white Lime powder. However, the putrid
green colour is reminiscent of death or rather the process of dying which is contrasted by the violent
red of the floor.

  • 2. Star Life Cycle The life cycle of star is on an eternal cycle of birth, death and regeneration where the gases that form stars are ejected by the very stars when they die. This all starts with the helium gas and fusion of hydrogen. The life cycle of a star is formed from stellar nebula to high mass stars and low mass stars. Hertzsprung and Russell classified stars on the main sequence of the H R diagram about 1910 that shows the relationship between luminosities and spectral types. Stellar Nebula A nebula contains dust and gas where gravity causes these to group together. Before the star is formed, the protostar will need to attain hydrostatic equilibrium by balancing the gravity getting atoms in and pushing heat and light out with radiation ... When the helium in the core is completely used the core collapses again. Planetary Nebula Planetary nebula are formed in the outer core of the star that are vanished when the star of the Sun s mass changes from a red giant to white dwarf. At this stage all the energy from the star fades away losing layers and forms a complex structure. White Dwarf White dwarf is very small with diameter as the Earth and mass similar to the Sun formed when the core of red giant collapsed. The maximum mass a white dwarf can have is about 1.4 solar masses which is known as Chandrasekhar limit. A single star can be one mass at the start of life and still evolve into a white dwarf being 0.6 mass compressed into approximately the volume of the Earth. Even though it is hot, it is not as bright compared to its temperature of more than 8000° C. However, they cool down and fade over billions of years. Analyzing Soderbergh s Traffic CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION Films are arguably the most synthetic medium for storytelling, combining music, visual design, dialogue, performance, and plot into one package. Each one of these elements might be considered a platform with which to create a narrative, but it is the combination of individual components that ultimately separates the great movies from the merely mediocre. Cinema is frequently watched by the populace of all ages and genders but the color symbolism of the visual aspect is rarely paid attention to. The Director of a film, working closely with the Director of Photography creates a color palette, based on the genre and mood of the film. Viewers can correctly judge the genre of the film, looking at just its hues; warm red tones for romance, de saturated colors for post apocalyptic films. Color is an ... Soderbergh said The issue of how to distinguish the three stories visually arose about and I decided for the East Coast stuff, tungsten film with no filter on it so that we get that really cold, monochrome blue feel. For San Diego, diffusion filters, flashing the film, overexposure for a warmer blossomy feel. And for Mexico, tobacco filters, 45 degree shutter angle whenever possible to give it a strobelike sharp feel. Figure 2 A still from Ex Machina (2014) Alex Garland released his directorial debut, Ex Machina. Aside from receiving widespread praise for its creative plot and philosophical commentary on artificial intelligence, his use of color is what really stands out in nearly every scene in this film. These devices are very convenient for school because of their portability and interactivity. Should printed textbooks still be used in school? Textbooks are definitely easier and should still be used in school. Why? Even though tablets are convenient, print textbooks should still be used because textbooks are more accessible, physical and are easier to integrate. What does it mean for a textbook to be accessible? An accessible object is one that can be easily approached, reached, and entered. An accessible textbook can be easily read. Print textbooks are definitely easier to use than electronic ones because they are not distracting and are available everywhere. These small devices are filled with distractions. With a normal class book all that is needed to reach the wanted topic is to flip pages. However, with a tablet, there are plenty of distractions. Many people appreciate the smell of the paper and the feeling of holding it in our hands (Marcovitz 55). Many people prefer the flipping of pages rather than the swipe of the screen. Some people still do not know how or why they should use electronic devices for reading. It s no wonder that a lot of the people I talk to are confused by ebooks. They don t know which way to turn, which e reader to use, or why they should even use them (Merkoski 161). It is important for children to know what a real book is like. Without the balance of children holding and touching and learning how to take care of a book, you run the risk of children losing a sense of what books are and how they feel... you lose the understanding on how they came to be (66 67). • 6. William Shakespeare s Antigone Olivia Seeney ENGL 330 Studies in World Literature 11/21/16 Hubris and Drama in Antigone Hubris may be categorized as two things. As a part of the Greek theater hubris qualifies as being the intentional use of violence to humiliate or degrade (Luebering). However, a more modern qualification defines hubris as exaggerated pride or self confidence (Hubris). Throughout Antigone both of these different characterizations of the word hubris can be found in specific events and characters. Being a Greek tragedy, it is evident that the concept of hubris plays a very important role in the development of characters and provides the reasoning for why each person does what they do. Much of the drama in this play is born from either excessive pride or from the unnecessary violence against sacred rituals or those who perform them. By going against this traditional Greek dramatic element these characters highlight the injustices that are being displayed by those they are going against. Overall, the impact that hubris has had on this tragedy and on the culture as whole affects how each of the characters either use hubris to advance both themselves and their goals, or choose to fight against it for the good of those around them. The incorporation of hubris into Antigone can be visualized specifically by examining two characters in particular. The first character is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 10. The Ban On Tobacco Advertising On Feb 6, 2001, Government of India announced a bill banning Tobacco Companies from advertising their products and sponsoring sports and cultural events. The objective was to discourage adolescents from consuming tobacco products and also arm the Government with powers to launch an anti Tobacco Program. Summarize the arguments for the ban on tobacco advertising in India. Advocates of free choice opposed to these prohibitions, saying these amounted to unwarranted intrusion by the state into the private lives of its citizens. Supporters stay countries like France, Finland, and Norway had already imposed similar bans. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), tobacco accounted for over 3 million deaths in 1990, the figure rising to 4.023 million deaths in 1998. It was estimated that tobacco related deaths would increase to 8.4 million in 2020 and 10 million in about 2030. However, a study on tobacco consumption and employment showed that effective policies to reduce smoking were likely to increase, and not decrease employment. The reason for this was that when people stopped smoking, the money did not disappear from the economy. It was spent on other goods and services, which the study showed, were more labor intensive. A World Bank report had pointed out that policymakers who wanted to control tobacco should be aware of the fact that bans on advertising and promotion would prove effective, only if they were comprehensive covering all media and all uses of brand ... • 11. The Universal Intracellular Messenger, Calcium ( Ca2 + ) The universal intracellular messenger, Calcium (Ca2+ ) regulates a wide range of cellular processes such as gene transcription, muscle contraction and cell proliferation. Ca2+ diffuses into organelles such as mitochondria and the nucleus as it is elevated in the cytosol (Martin D Bootman, 2006). Ca2+ is suited to this role as an intracellular messenger as it is a divalent cation and therefore it can form more stable complexes with other compounds compared to monovalent ions like magnesium and chloride. Moreover, Ca2+ has a larger radius and a stable electron configuration which provides flexibility that allows the formation of bonds with coordination sites that have irregular geometry (Bading, 2013). Although Ca2+ is important for cells the cytosolic concentration is maintained at a nanomolar concentration. Therefore, cells have obtained different ways to cope with this situation by reducing their cytosolic levels (Clapham, 2007). Ca2+ concentration inside cells is controlled by counteracting processes that act as on and off mechanisms based on whether they serve to increase or decrease cytosolic Ca2+ levels (Martin D Bootman, 2006). Ca2+ cannot be chemically altered within cells. Therefore to control Ca2+, cells must chelate, compartmentalize or extrude it in order to maintain nanomolar concentrations of the ion (Clapham, 2007). Ca2+ on mechanisms consist of channels located at the plasma membrane (PM) that controls the amount of Ca2+ entering the intracellular Ca2+ ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Greeks, Non Greeks and Expressions of Humanism Throughout history, the concept of humanism has changed and in a way evolved over the years. Many believe that humanism began with the early Greek civilizations, but there are many instances of non Greek expressions of humanism. From Hammurabi s Code in Mesopotamia, to the Romans art and sculptures, and lastly the way the Egyptians viewed their Pharaoh s as leaders with supreme importance. Humanism is a term that has become synonymous with human and natural rights. One of the earliest expressions of human rights is Hammurabi s Code of Laws. Hammurabi s laws were often recognized because of the harsh punishments that would occur if you broke a certain rules. If a man put out the eye of another man, his eye shall be put out. Even though to many people these laws would be considered extremely harsh, these laws became a model for future law systems. These laws set an example that for every improper action there would be a proper punishment that would follow. The repetition of the words There and that in the stanza emphasizes the descriptive dimension of the verses (v9, v10, v11, v13). In fact, prior to around 8,000 B.C., the area of the modern shoreline was high and dry, with the Gulf coast far to the east of its present position. This is because, in earlier millennia, global sea level was as much as 300 feet lower, with much of the world s water supply inaccessible in vast continental ice sheets and montane glaciers that were far more extensive than those of modern times. The power is one of the features of a human life and society which is able to completely transform an individual but also a country, as a leader gains and tries to maintain his capacity of instilling rules and relationships that often reflect the true morality, ethics and aspirations of his person. To begin with, once a leader imposes a control of power, he is able to attain anything he desires, which is possible to be not for a good of the people, but the head of the country and other politicians, which all can unexpectedly result in dictatorship. Leaders have to be strong to do what is necessary to maintain power amid fierce competition , even when it may require unethical behavior because if not, a leader would not accomplish his goals (Lewis). Support for this point of view can also be found in Frankenstein because Victor Frankenstein holds the initial power as a creator; but, even with his seniority over the creature, he loses it eventually, and it is the creature who regains and maintains it for the rest of the story by his ability of fast learning and not being afraid of unethical behaviors like revenge. Consequently, Victor uses terms like vile insect , devil , monster , and daemon in an attempt of trying to maintain and present authority and remind the creature of his place in the relationship, but also to emphasize the creature s non human status, his place, and his origins (Shelley 169). This position is supported by Zanaca, who states that the main sources of power include, superior resources, superior numbers, and superior organization , which means that the ability to transpire ideas and achieve power by different planning will pay off better than simply the seniority because power relations occur in all societies and organized groups (Zanca). Comparatively, The New York Times approves this position because of the fact that power in Congress does not mean one needs seniority. For this reason, Eric R. Seeman argues that seniority is the single most important determinant of a representative s power , which leads to voters reelecting occupants to Congress and establishing rankings. In 1974, the Democratic Party adopted new rules to open the committee chairmanships to all party members and insist other basis than seniority in determining the position ... According to dictionary.com, jurisdiction is the right, power, or authority to administer justice by hearing and determining controversies (dictionary.com, n.d.). An example of jurisdiction would be the courts of limited jurisdiction which is where small cases and criminal disputes that involves small amounts of money is decided. Also, subject matter jurisdiction and in personam jurisdiction are another type of jurisdiction. • 22. The Importance Of Kinship In Cultural Anthropology Kingsborough Community College Importance of Kinship in cultural anthropology Student: Amulang Mantsynov Professor: Igor Pashkovskiy Kinship has traditionally been one of the key topics in social and cultural anthropology. There are two primary reasons for this. First, although not all communities are constituted on the basis of kinship, all humans have a kinship as individuals and are related to other individuals through it. Second, for the sorts of tribal, classless, economically unspecialized societies that anthropologists have mostly though no longer exclusively studied, kinship has appeared to be the main or even sole form of social organization. These observations led various theoretical approaches, especially the schools of functionalism and structuralism within social anthropology, to focusing on how social groups are formed. They got interested in studying of how individuals are related to one another through kinship, and what kinds of mutual rights and duties they have as a result. (R. Parkin. Kinship) Parkin (2012) also points out that unlike the functionalists and structuralists, cultural anthropologists, elected to focus more greatly on the symbolic rather than socio practical aspects of kinship. They are interested in the meanings attached to being a particular sort of relative. They also study how symbols of and perspectives on an individual, the body, and gender tell kinship ideas and practices. In broad terms, a study of kingship from the symbolic standpoint has prevailed in America since the beginning of the twentieth century and periodically has been reinvented and by the 1970s become more influential in world anthropology, especially in its poststructuralist phase. The field of study of a kinship can be divided into three major categories: descent (that is, relations between generations); affinity (marriage); and siblingship. However, the siblingship hasn t been studied as widely as the first two categories. (R. Parkin. Kinship). By the definition provided in the New Dictionary of Cultural Literacy, kinship is a relation between two or more persons that is based on common ancestry (descent) or marriage (affinity). A teacher must be consistent and treat all of his/her students the same no matter what he/she know about the student or the student s past tendencies. The consequences must be fair and suit the misbehavior. Also, like the Existentialists, I feel that the teacher has to be a mediator. If the teacher notices that nay of his/her students are having problems with anyone else, the teacher needs to step in and get the students to try to work their problems out in a reasonable way. Being with the Progressivists, I feel that the teacher should be a guide for his/her students and a director of learning. The teacher must guide his/her students to realize that they have to make their own decisions. The children must realize that they do not have to do or say anything unless they want to. The teacher has to be the one to show this to the students, otherwise they may never be told this. Mary Shelley s life, saturated as it was by sorrow and coincidence, serves as very strong evidence of this statement s veracity. From the circumstances of her birth to her passionate life and the end of her days, Mary Shelley led a life far more interesting than any work of fiction could hope to imitate. Mary Shelley was born Mary Wollstonecraft Godwin to Mary Wollstonecraft and William Godwin at Somer s Town, a district of central London, on August 30, 1797. Twelve days after giving birth to her daughter Mary Wollstonecraft Godwin, Mary Wollstonecraft died of puerperal fever. William dealt with his grief over the loss of his wife by writing a moving account of her life, titled Memoirs of the Author of The Rights of Woman . The biography was received negatively due to the detailed accounts of Mary s liaisons with Imlay and her suicide attempt. The honesty of the text in these regards led to the temporary destruction of Mary Wollstonecraft s already polarized reputation. William s reputation was also crumbling at the time, as his reformist ideals were losing popularity in the wake of the French Revolution. Literature Review In the recent years, there has been viable evidence that shows that other factors in the work environment may also be strong push factors for retention (Burns, Bradley and Weiner, 2012, pg.445). The factors that contribute to forcing workers to leave the public sector include: workload and staff shortages are contributing to burnout, high absenteeism, stress, depression, low morale, and de motivation (Burns, Bradley and Weiner, 2012, pg.445). It is also shown that poor working conditions also contributes to preventing staff morale and motivation and it also contributes directly to recruitment and retention (Burns, Bradley and Weiner, 2012, pg445). According to Burns, Bradley and Weiner (2012), one strategy being used to alleviate health worker shortages and to improve access and quality of health services is task shifting, or the delegation of tasks that would traditionally fall within the scope of practice of doctors or nurses to other health who have undergone shorter periods of training (Burns, Bradley and Weiner, 2012, pg.445). In so by implementing task shifting, the work load that all nurses have to handle on a daily basis is split up with easier duties falling on other health professionals with less experience. I would remove this because I feel as if a person has mental health issues, it has nothing to do with their educational background. I believe that a social worker knowing the highest level of education of their client doesn t necessarily help the social worker with why the client is at their agency. I would not add anything to the form. The form has enough questions that will provide the social worker with enough information about the client that will help us figure out what services and treatments they ... The World Wide Web and Plagiarism Essay The World Wide Web and Plagiarism In the recent past when computers were available to the public, users could easily type a document without having to retype a whole page to correct or add a part to a document. Shortly after that came the Internet where countless pages of documents and information became accessible to nearly everybody. The problem with plagiarism was much smaller and easier to detect before the Internet. Preceding the Internet, plagiarized materials used to originate from fraternity houses efforts to recycle earlier information, copied directly from books at a library, or purchased from local ghostwriters. The internet makes it possible to find documents that pertain to any subject, therefore the internet makes it possible for any student to find a document, copy it and paste it with some others into their own word processor to call their own. It gets even easier than that. There are even websites solely devoted to helping students have access to other peoples papers and reports. These types of websites are called paper mills because they allow students to get complete papers for a small fee and sometimes even for free. It is an unusual concept but the founder Roxanne Quimby saw the market for such a product and immediately started acting upon this opportunity to create the best skin care company in the world. It was interesting to notice how Roxanne and the co founder Burt Shovitz started the concept of natural skin care products just for the extra income and then went on to make it their core product of the company. This is the best example of an unpredictable market. Another interesting factor of the company is its use of natural products, keeping in mind the environment. The company doesn t test its ... So firstly, I feel it should undertake heavy survey methods to know what customers are actually looking for in their products, what are they missing, what are their desires. Time changes and so do people and their tastes. I feel Burt s Bees should have continuous updates on what is desired by its customers and be more in touch with them to get the sales. Secondly, I also feel the company should invest a certain lump for its advertisement. It lacks a lot behind in this area as compared to its customers. I did not know the company s name until this case study. So, I feel it should also work towards its advertisement. Since, this is the world of technologies; Burt s Bees should have its hands on the latest technologies out there to make it products up to the mark. It would also save some labor costs. As far as financial aspect is concerned, as I have mentioned in my earlier discussions, I very strongly believe that the most important concern of the company is that it should never run out of cash. Burt s Bees may come up with the best product and use the best technology available but it would be of no use if it runs out of cash. Hence, they should be very cautious towards their cost of goods sold and that its expenses never exceed its income/cash flow. Generators Primary Heating Water Circuit Functioning Generators Primary Cooling Water Circuit functioning : In order to distinguish the treated water from the secondary coolant (raw water, condensator etc.) it is named as primary water because it is used for cooling stator winding, phase connectors and bushings . The secondary cooling absorbs the heat from the primary cooler when water is circulated in a closed circuit by the primary water cooler. The pump is supplied with in primary water cooler. Water is supplied to the flow paths of the generator by supplying it to the primary water tank i.e by supplying it to tht primary water cooler through the pump. Flow path I : Stator winding is cooled by Flow path I . This flow path passes through the stator bars via insulated barbefor this it passes through the water manifold on the exciter end of the generator which is connected to thestatus bars by a separate hose.Cooling water flows through hollow strands inside the bars. At the turbine end, the water return to the primary water tank which comes from another water manifold which in turn comes from the similar hoses.Minimum temperature rise is obtained for both the bars and the coolers because the water folw is single pass through the stator. This may act as a barrier of entry for potential new entrants. Illustrating the third force which is Power of Suppliers, There are only 3 main competitors in the commercial jet engine making industry which operates as an oligopoly. Historically, all of these companies have competed with each other for jet engine contracts which led to intense price wars. To avert ruinous price wars, these companies typically enter into exclusive supplier contracts with aircraft manufacturers. In such arrangements, the engine maker becomes the sole provider of jet engines for a specific aircraft model. In addition, the big jet engine makers give heavily discounted price, partly to lock in lucrative long term replacement parts, repairs and maintenace business, thereby reducing the power of these jet engine makers. On the other hand, for the power of customers, Airlines usually buy new jets under long term fixed price contracts. This short period was when the peasants stood up for themselves, trying to receive equality and more rights from the rest of society. The Peasant Revolt, is also known as the Wat Tyler Revolt. Walter Tyler was more regularly known as Wat Tyler and the leader of the English Peasants Revolt. But when the peasants wanted to return, Feudal Law stated that they could not leave their village unless they had been grated permission from their lords. He would then refuse to give permission and the peasants would have to stay and continue working on that manor. On each manor a lord would have many peasants and serfs tendon his land. A serf was a person that was bound to an area of land. If the lord sold the land then the serf would then work for the new owner. Scientific theory: In a chemical reaction no mass is lost, when the reactants turn in to the product of the reaction, chemical reactions involve a permanent change not just a temporary one. For this to happen their hast to be a change in energy as reactions always give out or take in energy most of the time this is heat energy this means the temperature in a reaction will go up or down.
  • 37. Visible changes can occur in the reaction mixture. These show that a reaction has taken place, for example a gad is given off or a solid is made or the colour changes. Oxidation this happens with most substances usually forming an oxide e.g. magnesium if not kept in a solution then it will react with oxygen forming magnesium oxide. Exothermic (give out heat) the reaction supplies the energy as heat. The heat energy is given to the surroundings; the temperature might go up making it feel hot. • 38. The Vietnam War Film Genre The Vietnam film is a specific sub genre of the conventional Hollywood war film that arose as a result of the 1960s counter culture. According to Elliot Stegall s article Ideological, Dystopic, and Antimythopoetic Formations of Masculinity in the Vietnam War Film many American war films depicted the glorification of war and emphasized the concept of American masculinity (Stegall). Previous to the Vietnam period, Hollywood war films stuck to contemporary tropes. These films often re enact the idea of good versus evil in which the male hero of the film triumphantly fights for their country against a vilified enemy; thus reinforcing the American ideology of conquering the frontier (Schweitzer 67). Kubrick s Full Metal Jacket as Historical Representation of America s Experience in Vietnam , he comments on the military s concern with: how to inculcate civilians reared in a western tradition, which emphasized the sanctity of life, with a willingness to kill (Schweitzer 64). Schweitzer s observation is most prominently debated in the beginning of the film. Split into three segments, the film illustrates the phases of re birth, life, and death. The opening sequence depicts re birth through the physical stripping of the individual identity. As the hair of the recruits is shaved off while the men wear the same dull blue capes, their faces begin to blur together into one unified identity. This is then furthered when the recruits are forced to say an oath to their rifles during the beginning of their military training on Parris Island. The scene is shot from one point perspective and displaying prominent symmetry in the composition. The room is stark and clinical. The recruits are all dressed in white which is a colour often associated with innocence. The men lay on their bunks in a head to toe formation which parallels with the scene of the mass Vietnamese grave in which the bodies are laid in the same manner and covered in white Lime powder. However, the putrid green colour is reminiscent of death or rather the process of dying which is contrasted by the violent red of the floor. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
