Purge America Research Paper
The Purge America and your Mom Desperately Need
The amount of blood shed on United States soil is enough to shower all of the dirty children in Africa.
The rate at which the amount of blood falls onto our land, increases faster than the speed of your
obese mother reaching for a bag of gluten free potato chips. Murder has reached a pinnacle, crimes are
committed left and right. Family backstabbing family, friends killing friends, your mom shoving Big
Macs down her throat. America has evolved into a nation filled with bloodbaths.
Go big or go home. I believe we can solve the high murder rates and high cholesterol by holding all
citizens of the United States to a purge. It would be cheaper to kill everyone in a day and move on,
rather than spending an entire year filing homicide cases, crying over one dead person at a time. The
annual purge will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The number of people per capita is rapidly increasing like the size of your mother s belly, and she s
not pregnant this time. If you are tired of your neighbour running over your lawn, stealing your mail,
and/or being noisy, you can annihilate them on March 14, with no legal consequences! With .003
percent of the world s water being usable left, we have to compete for our lives. To reduce the number
of people on Earth, kill them. Make it a game even, who can slay the most people?
The purge is great for so many reasons, not only does it help end overpopulation, but it would also
help relieve citizens of their sinful desires (regarding murder) and your mother s will to devour
hamburgers. Relieving the inner rages of citizens, would ultimately contribute to a society of lower
crime rate and stronger economy. It is projected that after the purge, unemployment rates would
plummet to 1%! Of course, the less people alive, the better possibility for jobs. For a small sacrifice of
purging once a year, you can prevent tens of thousands from dying in the near future, 364 days a

The United Nations Report Nepal
Nepal
By: Blake Murray
Grade 7
Draft
For this United Nations report Nepal was selected. It was selected because it is a beautiful country and
for some of its famous points of interest. Nepal s relative location is between India and China. It is in
both the northern and eastern hemispheres. And the absolute location is 28 00 degrees north and 84 00
degrees east. Nepal is only boarded by India and China and is completed landlocked; no coastline.
Because it is located between India and China, the majority of the population is Indian and Chinese.
Nepal has a population of around thirty one million, which is small compared to the countries
boarding it.
The topography on half of the county is hills and plains and the other half is mountainous.
In the south Nepal has flat plains and hills. In the northern region, it is mountainous; covered by the
Himalaya s mountain range.
Nepal is a very popular tourist area. Some points of interest include; Mount Everest, Gokyo Lake,
Temple, and the Thamel. Mount Everest is the highest point on earth above sea level. Gokyo Lake is
at the base of Mount Everest. The Thamel is located in the capital and has been the center of the
tourist industry. It is narrow alleys with crowded shops and vendors that sell their goods, such as:
food, fresh vegetables/fruits, walking gear, pastries, trekking gear, music, DVDs, handicrafts,
souvenirs and more. These are only a few of the great sights you can visit in Nepal.

UT Southwesten Medical School
UT Southwestern
UT Southwestern Medical School was formed in 1943 in the Southwestern Medical District of Dallas,
Texas. It started off as a small wartime medical college and since then has grown exponentially. It now
provides care to almost 90,000 patients and oversees 2 million outpatient visits and is affiliated with
four hospitals: Parkland Memorial Hospital, Children s Medical Center, Zale Lipshy University
Hospital, and St. Paul University Hospital.
In 2013, UT Southwestern was ranked 31 in the US News Primary Care Ranking, so it is only fair to
expect a rigorous and competitive admissions process. The UT Southwestern application timeline is as
follows: The time from January May is recommended for taking the MCAT; Primary and Secondary
applications must be submitted as soon as possible after June 1st; in August the interview season
begins; October 1st is the deadline for all applications submitted through TMDSAS (the Texas
Application Service); Rolling admissions begin November 15th, in Late Winter/Early Spring decisions
for medical schools must be finalized; by May 15th all offers should be resolved; and finally by June
1st no more offers will be given by medical schools. The admitted overall GPA range is 3.6 to 4.0 and
the overall admitted Sciences GPA range is 3.54 to 4.0. The median incoming GPA range is 3.88. The
median MCAT score is 35 out of 45 points. Last year, there were 4023 applicants, 834 of them were

Essay on Dismissal Meeting
Assignment #3 HRM 530 Strategic Human Resources Management Dismissal Meeting 1. Propose
three (3) ways that a manager can cope with any negative emotions that may accompany an employee
layoff. When the economy or a company s business goes south, the quickest way a company can chop
its costs is by laying off its employees. It s never popular and often companies will try other cost
cutting measures long before they have to cut workers, but if you re among those who get the pink
slip, you don t really care. You just lost your job. For many, being laid off is something that will be
unexpected and shocking. Unless you work in a seasonal industry where layoffs occur with annual

No matter how strong your recruiting, hiring, performance management, and management practices
are, employee terminations are an inevitable part of owning a business. Terminations can result from
employee misconduct, performance issues, and changes in business. Termination meetings tend to be
stressful for both the employee and the person delivering the message. Nonetheless, there are some
key steps to follow that can make this meeting easier: Step 1) Above all else, treat the employee with
respect and kindness and remain calm no matter how the employee reacts. Do not argue with the
employee. Be compassionate and respectful. Step 2) Conduct the meeting in private and keep it brief.
Step 3) Have another witness present preferably someone from HR or in management. Step 4) During
the meeting, discuss termination meeting, benefits, and references: Focus on the real reason for the
termination. Being vague can lead the employee to draw their own conclusions regarding the reasons.
The purpose of the meeting is to communicate the message, not to discuss the reasons, or rights and
wrongs, behind the decision. You should avoid discussing anything not relevant to the employee s
conduct or reason for termination. Review termination benefits, if any (i.e., severance, vacation pay,
insurance continuation) and, if applicable, review the separation and release agreement, which

Operation Eagle Claw, And It Was A Failure
November 4th 1979American personnel at the US embassy are taken hostage in Teheran, Iran. The
United States had never faced a hostage situation like this before. It did not have the Joint Special
Operations Task Force trained in planning the mission or the resources for low visibility clandestine
missions. The mission to save the hostages is called Operation Eagle Claw, and it was a failure. This
mission on the other hand highlighted areas in the military that need tobe improved, and when the
country required to carry out special operation missions in the future those resources would be there
and ready.
Militant student, followers of the Ayatollah stormed the Embassy and took all personnel hostage. This
was the second time in 1979 the embassy was taken and only a few people remained behind its gates.
The students only planned to take the hostages for a few days, hopping that the United States would
return the ousted Shah, to face trial. When the US refused, to return the Shah, the stalemate began, and
the students held the hostages for 444 days.
The US realized that the hostages are not being released as before, and a rescue mission was needed to
secure their freedom. A group was quickly put together to plan the rescue. Dubbed Operation Rice
Bowl, flag officers from every branch of the military, began to plan the mission and gather
intelligence. The officers of the planning, operations ensured that every branch of the military would
have a piece of the mission; no

Led Zeppelin And Rush Research Paper
Led Zeppelin and Rush are two of the most legendary, Billboard topping, Grammy award winning,
Rock n Roll bands in the world. They both are very similar in many ways. The two bands play similar
genres and have been compared to each other a lot. Their likeness in sound has even gotten them
mistaken on the radio one time. When a Rush song was first debuted on the radio, people were calling
in asking when the new Led Zeppelin album was coming out. As being award winners and legendary,
both bands have been inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. Rush was inducted in 2013 and Led

They are though, even through their many differences. Both groups play a similar genre, which is
Rock n Roll. They both have even been mistaken for each other at times. Even though they are both
associated as playing the genre of Rock their styles are different. Rush has longer songs and are more
progressive, but Led Zeppelin plays Harder and more Metal like Rock. Also, both bands being
legendary Rock bands, have been into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. Rush was inducted in 2013 and
Led Zeppelin in 1995. Led Zeppelin though was inducted by Aerosmith, but Rush was inducted by the
Foo Fighters. Rush s and Led Zeppelin s members are also similar. Both Geddy Lee and John Paul
Jones, the bassists of the two bands also play keyboards. Although, Geddy sings and sometimes plays
a foot keyboard. Also he uses Synthesizers to create melodies for songs, but John Paul Jones plays
electric pianos to add a back up to a sound. Even though both bands are legendary, alike sounding, and
award winners, they are still very different. Rush and Led Zeppelin have been compared to each other,
and have both one Grammy s and topped the Billboard 10 list, but as Geddy Lee once said about
musicians and bands, I guess, we were just dedicated to trying to get better.

Why Did The Communist Party Win The 1935 Election Essay
Why Did the Communist Party Win the 1935 Election Simulation? In a time where the economy is
suffering and people are struggling, a strong government is needed to help everyone achieve success.
As a result, the Communist party won the 1935 election simulation because their leader addressed the
concerns of nearly every voting bloc, they had eye catching posters with a memorable slogan, and
they targeted the Conservatives, one of the main political parties. First and foremost, Tim Buck, the
leader of the Communist party, addressed the concerns of nearly every voting bloc at the election. One
of the concerns of recent immigrants was the perception that they will work for less and are taking
away jobs from the other Canadians. Thus, Tim addressed the concern and assured a positive change,
as he said, We know that many think you will work for less, but you will earn just as much as other

much the Communists posters affected people s votes, 17 people responded and 65% that the posters

people may have subconsciously remembered the Communists as the ones with the bright red image
that caught their eye. This would have likely influenced their vote, even if they were not aware of it.

on these observations the investigators should ask the maid why the hot tub was at an unsafe

Part II 1) I believe that the Underhill s died prior to them going under the water. I assume the couple s
death was due to dehydration caused by the high water temperature and further affected by the
consumption of alcohol. Alcohol potentially effected the couples decision making causing them to
increase their level of dehydration by staying in the hot tub longer than prescribed. 2) Under the
effects of Lasix Mr. Underhill s body was prevented from absorbing to much salt, which instead was
directed straight to the urine quickening the process of dehydration in the body. 3) Blood alcohol

alcohol can increase the risk of high blood pressure developing in chronic kidney disease. 5) The

John Brown s A Hero
John Brown Essay
What John Brown did was crazy and was suicidal; he did it because he knew the purpose of it and the
after effect of it. After the Harpers Ferry revolt Brown said that he doesn t feel no guilt for his actions.
He knew what people would characterize him as and he just doesn t care. He knows what affect and
toll it would take on people to see their own kind to stand up and fight for equality of a different race.
Most people would think he s crazy, but actually he s just trying to fight for justice to end slavery
because what he believes that is right.
The reason why I say he s a hero not a terrorist is because if you define a terrorist and line it up with
what John Brown believes in and what he wanted to accomplish then you would think he s a hero also.
See people got to remember the Harpers Ferry revolt wasn t the only slave revolt John Brown was
apart of, he was also apart of other attacks in different places. For example in his Conversation: Patriot
or Terrorist it says During what became known as the Pottawatomie Massacre and the Battle of
Osawatomie, Brown assumed the role of abolitionist leader and led violent attacks against proponents
of slavery. See that he wasn t just apart of one revolt and one attack like Osama Bin Laden was no he
was part of a couple attacks and battles. His mission was to free slaves and make the economy and
country better by allowing everyone to be treated equal and have equal rights. Like what we have sort

INTRODUCTION Psychology is the scientific study of mental and behavior processes. It s thus seeks

Why Might Parents Allow Their Children To Read Gothic...
Why Might Parents Allow Their Children to read Gothic Literature? Some parents may approve of
their children reading Gothic Literature because it teaches them moral lessons that they may be able to
use later on in life. Gothic Literature is a combination of the age of Romanticism and Gothic elements,
all tied into one. When parents allow their children to read Gothic Literature, they are opening their
children s minds up and allowing them to go into the dark world and face many challenges and
experiences in hopes of overcoming and conquering their fears that they may have once had. Some
parents believe that it has a positive effect in children s minds. They believe that it is used to entertain
the mind and teaches children that things are not always what they seem to be. These Gothic novels
are said to allow children to escape their own lives, to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Parents feel like they should break ground and be able to share these novels with their children
because they are able to learn from these novels. Karen Sanchez Eppler refers to the passage from the
Gospel of Mark employing childhood as a temporal marker (8). Some parents believe that their
children should be open to the supernatural elements that these Gothic novels portray. They believe
that if they allow their children to read these novels and to set fear in their children s minds that it will
help them to overcome those fears and to conquer them overall. Children are able to escape their own
lives and live another world filled with supernatural elements and the unknown. In Childhood,
psychoanalyst, Philippe Aries, explains essentialism and the provocative assertion that in medieval
society the idea of childhood did not exist...these accounts stress the complicated relations, and often
glaring contradictions, between any society s idea of childhood and the lived experience of actual

Decameron Day 1 Essay
Through the contrasting storylines of Day 1 Story 1, and Day 4 Story 2 in The Decameron, Boccaccio
displays the superiority of common folk to people of religious authority, depicting the triumph of
reason over religion. The main characters of Day 1 Story 1 and Day 4 Story 2, Ciapelletto and Berto
della Massa, respectively, bear a strikingly similar resemblance until they are confronted about words
which they have spoken, at which point the storylines diverge. While Ciapelletto is able to
successfully fool a friar, Betro della Massa is unable to fool ordinary citizens. By having two
seemingly similar stories end so differently, Boccaccio demonstrates his view that natural reason is
more valuable than religious authority. Ciapelletto of Day 1 and Berto della Massa of Day 4 both lead
sinful lives; Ciapelletto of Prato is known for willingness to commit murder, speak out against God,

Through the differing outcomes of 1.1 and 4.2, Boccaccio plants the subtle hint that friars are not any
better than the common man, and that the power of reason can be infinitely more powerful than
having a tie to God. While the villagers are able to detect and acknowledge the lies that Alberto has
told, the Friar does not even question any of the overwhelmingly false information supplied by
Ciapelletto. Such a contrast depicts the idea that having religious authority and no ability to think for
oneself is no better than being an ordinary person. In the end, it is not the profession of an individual
that determines his ability to think, but rather it is his own willingness to question what he has heard
or seen. If a man cannot think for himself or challenge what he is presented with, then those around
him can easily fool

Successful Find Sociology
For this class I chose the title, Working with Others for a Successful Find. In archeology there are
many steps a person must take in order to have a successful find. A successful find is not just when
you find an object in the dirt or ground, it is when you find an object and find new information about
the past. The only way to know about the past is to talk to someone who would know what that object
is. This can be a historian, fellow colleague, and especially a descendant of who the object belongs to.
An example in which I am referring to when I say a descendant of who the object belongs to, is like
when Janet D. Spector talks to Carrie Schommer and Chris Cavendar about the Dakota people. These
two individuals are descendants of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In these groups they would have to act out the part as if they were either Native Americans, the

another the argument that they would make. They would be arguing against one another that they
should have the objects that were found. First each group would give their opening argument. After
each group finished that then they would have an open floor in which they would be able to debate
each other. Once they were finished debating and each group made their closing remarks then the jury
would go and deliberate to determine who gets the objects. When the jury returns I would read aloud
the decision. The group who made the best argument will win a prize. Their prize will be all of the
artifacts that were found from the first assignment. This second assignment ties back in with the first
theme as well because it requires the students to work with one another in order to be successful and
win the debate. So overall my class would be all about the students working with one another to
achieve success as well as trying to determine who would receive the artifacts that are found in Native
American lands. At the end of my class

The Book of Ephesians is an Epistle Written by Paul
Bible Dictionary Project
Book
The book of Ephesians is an epistle written by Paul to the church in Ephesus. It takes the form of a
letter aimed at addressing the Christian congregation. Paul wrote the letter, along with several other
epistles, while incarcerated in a Roman prison. With the assistance of Tychicus, Paul sent his letter to
Ephesus, the capital of lesser Asia (Weber, 2000). Paul s letter aims to expound on the critical role
played by the church as a constituent of God s plans. The church is presented as furthering God s
eternal purpose, with Christ as its head. With its comprehensive and insightful analysis, Ephesians
offers further discourse on issues pertaining to Christ s church as explained in other epistles. From
Ephesians, Christians are also able to comprehend the dimensions of God s grace. The epistle
examines the greatness of God s love, highlighting the privilege of a spiritual rebirth made possible by
God s grace (Weber, 2000). Paul also warns the Ephesus Christians against the false doctrines and
misleading philosophy prevalent in Ephesus at the time (Ephesians 4:14 New International Version).
Ephesians establishes the church s place as a critical component in God s divine plan and offers
lessons on the workings of salvation and grace.

Artemisia Gentileschi
Artemisia Gentileschi the Renaissance Feminist Artist

Devry University
Abstract
Why exactly is Artemisia Gentileschi considered an early feminist? Doing a brief search and looking
into her artwork, even for a brief amount of time and you quickly see why she was considered so. Her
gender as well as the things she went through and experienced in her life heavily influenced Artemisia
Gentileschi s artwork. Some of the more famous and controversial paintings focus on females as being
the main protagonist. There is plenty of controversy surrounding the paintings as well, since her father
Orazio Gentileschi a painter in his own right trained her. Some of her early paintings are questioned
and he is given credit for them. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They have fought for equality and to this day continue to do so even as the world progresses towards
obtaining equality for everyone regardless of gender or race. Artemisia Gentileschi through her
portrayal of woman as her main antagonist is considered by many to be one of the earliest feminist
and would deserve plenty of credit if and when mankind finally gets to that point.
There is many articles and facts on the website by Brash, the entire website is dedicated and in
memory of Artemisia Gentileschi. Her painting are displayed and portrait here in full effect and give a
wonderful insight into the paintings and the though process behind them. All of Artemisia s
controversial painting are show and dissected to show why exactly they caused quite a stir back in the
day. Judith slaying Holofernes (P.4) for example is shown and the author describes how it was a
bloody and gruesome painting in those times. As is shows a woman named Judith saving the Jewish
people by killing an Assyrian general.
The Artemisia Gentileschi article essentially follows Artemisia s life and gives a biography of
everything she went through and the kind of effect her paintings had. It gives insight into her life and
takes you back to when she was a child, giving you a better understanding of why she became a

Mature Themes in The Dark Knight Essay examples
In a movie where good and evil are divided by a very thin line, the Dark Knight rises up to fight
against injustice and corruption in Gotham City. An action sequel to the original Batman Begins, this
installment is a lot darker filled with more explosion, twists, and suspense. For the first time, a comic
has been integrated into the issues of the real world. With the help of District Attorney Harvey Dent
and Lieutenant Gordon, Batman sets out to dismantle the remaining mob members and clean the
streets of Gotham for good. Their success is only short lived when they encounter the Joker, a
mysterious mastermind who is out to prove that nobility cannot hold in a world of anarchy. From the
beginning, Batman continues with his war on crime. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nolan creates an atmosphere where one scene will move steadily to the next, building anticipation
until all hell breaks loose. Nolan has really done his research with this film as he explores a deeper
meaning in good vs. evil. It makes the film seem so real life unlike most fantasy superhero movie. For
some reason, the viewer can actually imagine this happening in real life. The lights and effects are
very promising. Christian Bale returns to play the billionaire playboy Bruce Wayne and his alter ego
Batman. His role in this movie is much more in depth than his first one. His first role seemed to be
more at a superficial level and not often did he have to fight within himself. His adversary, the Joker is
played by Heath Ledger who he would clashed with throughout the movie. A role that defined Ledger
s career, he makes the original Joker played by Jack Nicholson, look like child s play. Michael Caine
returns to play the loyal and always dependable Alfred the Butler. Katie Holmes has been replaced by
Maggie Gyllenhall to play Rachael Dawes. Gyllenhall connects with the character much better than
Holmes ever did. It seemed very natural for Gyllenhall unlike Holmes who awkwardly seemed out of
place. District Attorney Harvey Dent is played by Aaron Eckhart, and Gary Oldman plays Lieutenant
Jim Gordon. The opening scene starts off with five small time criminals working under the devious
mastermind that is the Joker. The dark,

After the introduction of the Sarbanes Oxley Act lots of companies have had to submit financial

done by Kodiak Energy Inc. over the past several years due to incorrect reporting on the value of their

Kodiak Energies paid a heavy price
The shareholders were not pleased about the deception that Kodiak Energy had deceived them on and
quickly showed them the repercussion of lying and stealing from them. Over the next five years,
Kodiak Energies stock went from being worth $3.65 a share to a mere .10. Even though the company
tied to rectify the situation with a restatement, their years of dishonesty caught up to them and they
were unable to rectify their reputation by simply failing a misstatement. Kodiak Electric almost put
themselves out of business by trying to steal $1,125,835 from their shareholders pockets, and
reporting it as additional capital paid in to make it seem legitimate.
Restatements can be helpful if they are used to explain honest mistakes. Misstatements cannot be used
to cover up illegal accounting procedures. Shareholders will take notice and the end results can be
devastating to a company s business.

life continues to bring great fortune when they are able to purchase land from the House of Hwang,

The Validity And Reliability Of The Measure
The Wechsler scales are a measure used to assess intelligence of people; as with any measure, it is
important to evaluate the validity and reliability of the measure. Intelligence, for psychometric tests,
refers to the innate overall cognitive ability. There are four versions of the Wechsler scales: the
Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children 4th edition (WISC IV; Wechsler, 2003) for children aged 6
16, the Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence Revised for children aged 4 6 1/2
(WPPSI R; Wechsler, 1989) the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale 4th edition (WAIS IV; Wechsler,
2008) and the Wechsler Abbreviated Scale of Intelligence 2nd edition for adults (WAIS R; Wechsler,
1981).
In order to calculate the final IQ, the raw scores are converted into a standardized scale. Whitaker and
Wood (2008) showed, through analysing the WISC III, that the standardization of sub scores into one
score (such as standardizing results to out of ten or one hundred) will systemically result in some
participants IQ being higher than it would be without the conversion (Wechsler, 2004; Whitaker,
2010). So, the validity of the measure is compromised. This could be avoided through unifying the
number of questions asked for each sub section. Yet the perhaps more misleading and unavoidable
lack of accuracy in a specific IQ score is from having different levels of intelligence in the sub
sections. For example, a person might do very well at the verbal IQ (vocabulary, arithmetic) and

Essay about The Spread of Buddhism and Christianity
The Spread of Buddhism and Christianity
Buddhism and Christianity were each founded by one person, and then eventually grew into two of the
largest religions in the world. Each religion had different reasons for the success in the spreading of
each respected belief. Although both faced many hardships, the two religions overcame and prevailed
through their problems and continued to find ways to attract new believers every day.
Buddhism was founded by one man, Siddhartha Guatama. He was born into royalty around 563
B.C.E. in a Kingdom near the border of India and Nepal. He was raised in wealth and luxury, and at
the age of 16, he married a wealth woman and they had a child together. Around the age of 29, he

When, through his Buddhahood, he had cognized this fact, the earth swayed like a woman drunken
with wine, the sky shone bright with the Siddhas who appeared in crowds in all the directions, and the

cloudless sky, flowers and fruits dropped from the trees out of season in an effort, as it were, to show
reverance for him,? (The Global Experience, Ashvaghosha, pg. 79).
Having achieved enlightenment, the Buddha began spreading his knowledge to help others achieve ?
Nirvana?, which means to be released from the reincarnation cycle. He preached that there were 4
Noble Truths: (1) all life is suffering; (2) the source of suffering is desire; (3) to end desiring is to end
suffering; (4) there is an eight fold path to end suffering; to have the right understanding, thought,
speech, action, livelihood, effort, mindfulness, and concentration. This idea of being released from
suffering attracted many people, and Buddhism soon spread rapidly through Northern India, and then
through Southern India.
However, the popularity of this form of Buddhism (Theravada, as it came to be known, meaning ?way
of the elders?) began to dwindle as only a few people were being able to enlightenment as it was so
difficult. It was mainly monks who were practicing the eight fold path, and they would meditate for

Pros And Cons Of The Devolution Of Power In Northern Region
Make an argument for and against the devolution of power in Northern Region
Introduction
Today, running state affairs and managing public sector are fast evaporating from the government to
other peripheral authorities within and outside the government circles. Notably, decentralization of
authority is on the rise, devolution of power to sub national governments and governance (Bevir,
2012:4) are adding to the shifting paradigm in state powers.
This paper looks at the pros and cons of devolution of power in Finmark Norway and the three

The implication of governance on government is that, the procedure for making political decisions that
affect that public life have become expanded and more stakeholders are brought on board. Confining
government and governing to the domain of federal and provincial authorities in Canada to the
exclusion of national governments is neither sustainable nor possible today.
Governance as a form of devolution in the north, have resulted in the direct and or indirect transfer of
decision making powers and resources to act in that capacity from the Canadian government to
aboriginal governments in Canada. Devolution of political authority to sub national government, is
also believed to promote local autonomy, strengthen equitable the distribution and transfer of wealth
to sub national governments representing indigenous people in Canada s north (Coates Poelzer,
2014:5).
Canada s failure to meet up its social contract responsibilities to its aboriginal population, plus the
continued frustrations of aboriginal people over the continued extraction of resources within
aboriginal territories (Coates Poelzer, 2014:10) on large scale without the aboriginal people being able
to significantly influence the process or get a fair share of the benefits make a good case, for the

Jeopardy Test
To find out whether a computer can not only hold vast amounts of data, but to be able to assess that
data quickly, Jeopardy is a logical way to test it. The reason Jeopardy makes sense as a test platform is
because the average contestant on Jeopardy has such a complex understanding of different subjects,
viewers have often compared them to computers. Eugene Finerman told the Wall Street Journal (1990)
that he had to scan over at least 200 issues of Time magazine to feel like he could answer a good
amount of questions. However, testing the computer on a quiz show means that the computer only had
to be as smart as the human players it was competing against. Testing multiple computers (with
different knowledge, software, or with some other difference) would be more adequate competitors.
The computer used in the test was set up specifically for the process of retrieving data. If that is all
you are wanting from a computer, then it is acceptable. I find a computer retrieving data, like Watson,

Vernon Tull Character Traits
Vernon Tull is a fairly wealthy countryman who is friends with the Bundrens, often hiring the older
boys to do odd jobs for him. He is characterized as a helpful, kind man. Some characters think Tull is
very benevolent, always offering help to the family and assisting them whenever they are in trouble, or
in a state of distress. The family, however, is not always appreciative, as sometimes the family refuses
to acknowledge their need for succor. Tull knows the family really does need the assistance, and does
not let the family s brusqueness get in the way of his facilitation. Tull is important in the novel

When Tull and Cora are talking about the incident at the river, and how Cash almost drowned, Cora

reader, through Tull, can see Cora s hypocritical nature, as Cora repeats that God is the only one that
can judge people yet is constantly criticizing the Bundrens throughout the novel (Faulkner). Tull, too,
is hypocritical, because he uses religion to pass judgment on Anse. When Vardaman comes to Tull and
describes a relationship between Addie and a fish, Tull believes this is nonsense, and blames Anse,
like Cora, for being an incompetent father (Faulkner). In addition to Cora s characterization, the reader
is better able to understand Jewel s nature because of Tull s narrations. When Tull follows the family
to the river, potentially to help them cross the dangerous waters, Jewel is furious with the Tull s offer
to help. This shows Jewel s independence as a strong individual, and foreshadows a time later in the
novel where Jewel will again show his independence. This foreshadowing comes to fulfillment when
Jewel absconds in order to avoid the sale of his beloved horse. Nevertheless, Jewel does trade his

Essay on Exploring Time Travel
An essential requirement for the possibility of time travel is the presumption that future and past were
somehow real. But according to one popular view only the present is real, and to suppose that the past
or future are also real is to suppose that the past and the future are also present a contradiction.
According to this sort of Heraclitean metaphysical conception, the future is genuinely open: there is
no realm of determinate future fact, no denizens of the future to identify or talk about, though of
course in the fullness of time there will be. Travel to the future on this view would be ruled out
because there is simply nowhere to go.
The past, though, is spoken of as fixed and determinate and not subject to change. ... Show more

It is well known that chronological discrepancies arise in connection with the special and general
theories of relativity, quite independently of the question of time travel. But relativistic chronological
discrepancies are benign in way that time travel discrepancies are not. What would count as a case of
travelling into the past? We can conceive that after a certain time having experiences which are
exactly like those of 1920. It is just this kind of thought experiment that makes time travel
conceivable. But we would not be compelled to treat such experiences as decisive evidence of having
traveled into the past. They might be taken as evidence of serious cognitive disorder, for example.
David Lewis has argued that time travel stories are perfectly coherent and it is instructive to examine
his defense of the possibility of time travel. Lewis does not reject, but accept the reality of future and
past. The world we live in, according to Lewis, is a Parmenidean world: a four dimensional manifold
of events and the occupants of the world are four dimensional aggregates of stages timelike streaks
(1976, p. 145). However a time traveler is not like other aggregates; if he travels towards the past he is
a zig zag streak (1976, p. 146). There might also be stretched out streaks which are travelers into

donation: living donation and deceased donation. Living donation is when the organ donor is still alive
while deceased donation is when the donation takes place after death. Organ donation has been going
on for centuries. The very first successful living donor transplant took five and a half hours at
Brigham Hospital in Boston in December 23, 1954. The operation was led by Dr. Joseph Murray
along with Dr. David. The first organ donor was Ronald Herrick. He donated one of his kidneys to his

of the kidneys. As a matter of fact, Ronald was a living related donor. That means the organ comes
from a blood relative such as parent, brother or sister. Later on, the successful operation led Dr.

American Slavery Essay
Enormous changes swept through nearly every facet of American society in the years between the
American Revolution and the Civil War, and the institution of slavery was no exception to this rule.
Prior to the Revolution, slavery existed in every American colony. The growing population of settlers
was founded on and maintained by notions of inequality, in which indentured servants and slaves
provided the necessary manpower for the development of a largely agricultural economy and the
settlement of an ever diminishing frontier. First and second generation whites began to equate race and
servitude as white indentured servitude waned and black slaves came to represent the primary source

As natural increase and an end to the importation of African slaves stabilized the slave population,
new generations of Creole slaves began to form a distinctive African American culture. At the same
time, most white slaveholders were now fourth or fifth generation masters who lived and worked near
their slaves and took a keen interest in their welfare and affairs. A new felt paternalism both improved
the physical treatment and condition of slaves and served to further restrict and dictate their lives. The
rise of evangelicalism in the 1830s provided Southern whites with a justification for demanding
obedience by focusing on individual piety and salvation in the hereafter; in the North, by contrast, that
new religious fervor became an impetus for social reform and empowered some whites to try to rid the
world of its many evils, including slavery. Slavery underwent significant changes as the country
moved from the colonial to the antebellum era. The American slavery of 1760 1861 was shaped by the
political, economic, and religious changes affecting the nation as a whole; the latter day manifestation
of slavery was both a major departure from and an indisputable product of the earlier institution.
Following the American Revolution, whites subscribed to new egalitarian notions of government and
liberty throughout the United States. By the time of Independence, slavery was an established facet of
American society, but the

An Overview of Glass
One of the most used materials in human history is glass or more specifically silicate glass. Although
some types of glasses are called crystal glass, glass is actually an amorphous solid and does not have a
crystal structure. It is used in all walks of life ranging from homes to automobiles to laboratories.
Historically, the one of the first types of glass that was used by humans to make tools and weapons
was the volcanic glass known as obsidian. As for manmade glass, the earliest accounts date back to
5000 BC in the middle east. Primitive methods of glass making were used until about 100BC, when
glassblowing was believed to be discovered. This discovery made glass products popular in the
Roman Empire since the development of glassblowing allowed glass production to be more efficient
and thus less expensive. As the centuries went on more techniques were developed which eventually
lead to glass products being widespread. This paper will discuss some of the methods of glass
production throughout history, the types of silicate glass, and the different ways that glass can be
colored.
One of the early methods of glass making was called core forming. This technique made use of a
metal rod that had clay attached at one end. The end of the rod with the clay around it was either
lowered into molten glass or the glass was poured onto the clay. The glass surrounding the clay would

The Moral Responsibilities Within A Corporation
Corporations can be large or small but they all have some sort of ethical impact on their employees,
shareholders, customers, community, and surrounding environments. Richard DeGeorge writes, We
can speak of corporations having moral responsibilities to act in certain ways, and they are morally
responsible for the consequences of their actions on people. (p. 200). Large corporations are
comprised of the board of directors, management, and their workers. They also deal with suppliers,
customers, and have competitors. This essay will examine the moral responsibilities within a
corporation.
In large corporations the success or failure of the company is the responsibility of the board of
directors. According to Richard DeGeorge, The members of the board are responsible to the
shareholders for the selection of honest, effective managers, and especially for the selection for the
CEO and of the president of the corporation. (p. 202). The board members have a moral responsibility
to ensure the corporation is run honestly, in respect to its major policies, and to ensure the interests of
the shareholders are satisfied. The next responsibility within a corporation is the responsibility
management has to its board of directors. DeGeorge writes, It must inform the board of its actions, the
decisions it makes or the decisions to be made, the financial condition of the firm, its successes and
failures, and the like. (p. 202). The management of the corporation is morally obligated to

  • 2. Purge America Research Paper The Purge America and your Mom Desperately Need The amount of blood shed on United States soil is enough to shower all of the dirty children in Africa. The rate at which the amount of blood falls onto our land, increases faster than the speed of your obese mother reaching for a bag of gluten free potato chips. Murder has reached a pinnacle, crimes are committed left and right. Family backstabbing family, friends killing friends, your mom shoving Big Macs down her throat. America has evolved into a nation filled with bloodbaths. Go big or go home. I believe we can solve the high murder rates and high cholesterol by holding all citizens of the United States to a purge. It would be cheaper to kill everyone in a day and move on, rather than spending an entire year filing homicide cases, crying over one dead person at a time. The annual purge will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The number of people per capita is rapidly increasing like the size of your mother s belly, and she s not pregnant this time. If you are tired of your neighbour running over your lawn, stealing your mail, and/or being noisy, you can annihilate them on March 14, with no legal consequences! With .003 percent of the world s water being usable left, we have to compete for our lives. To reduce the number of people on Earth, kill them. Make it a game even, who can slay the most people? The purge is great for so many reasons, not only does it help end overpopulation, but it would also help relieve citizens of their sinful desires (regarding murder) and your mother s will to devour hamburgers. Relieving the inner rages of citizens, would ultimately contribute to a society of lower crime rate and stronger economy. It is projected that after the purge, unemployment rates would plummet to 1%! Of course, the less people alive, the better possibility for jobs. For a small sacrifice of purging once a year, you can prevent tens of thousands from dying in the near future, 364 days a ... • 3. The United Nations Report Nepal Nepal By: Blake Murray Grade 7 Draft For this United Nations report Nepal was selected. It was selected because it is a beautiful country and for some of its famous points of interest. Nepal s relative location is between India and China. It is in both the northern and eastern hemispheres. And the absolute location is 28 00 degrees north and 84 00 degrees east. Nepal is only boarded by India and China and is completed landlocked; no coastline. Because it is located between India and China, the majority of the population is Indian and Chinese. Nepal has a population of around thirty one million, which is small compared to the countries boarding it. The topography on half of the county is hills and plains and the other half is mountainous. In the south Nepal has flat plains and hills. In the northern region, it is mountainous; covered by the Himalaya s mountain range. Nepal is a very popular tourist area. Some points of interest include; Mount Everest, Gokyo Lake, Temple, and the Thamel. Mount Everest is the highest point on earth above sea level. Gokyo Lake is at the base of Mount Everest. The Thamel is located in the capital and has been the center of the tourist industry. It is narrow alleys with crowded shops and vendors that sell their goods, such as: food, fresh vegetables/fruits, walking gear, pastries, trekking gear, music, DVDs, handicrafts, souvenirs and more. These are only a few of the great sights you can visit in Nepal. Economy: ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Propose three (3) ways that a manager can cope with any negative emotions that may accompany an employee layoff. When the economy or a company s business goes south, the quickest way a company can chop its costs is by laying off its employees. It s never popular and often companies will try other cost cutting measures long before they have to cut workers, but if you re among those who get the pink slip, you don t really care. You just lost your job. For many, being laid off is something that will be unexpected and shocking. Unless you work in a seasonal industry where layoffs occur with annual regularity, a layoff is akin to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... No matter how strong your recruiting, hiring, performance management, and management practices are, employee terminations are an inevitable part of owning a business. Terminations can result from employee misconduct, performance issues, and changes in business. Termination meetings tend to be stressful for both the employee and the person delivering the message. Nonetheless, there are some key steps to follow that can make this meeting easier: Step 1) Above all else, treat the employee with respect and kindness and remain calm no matter how the employee reacts. Do not argue with the employee. Be compassionate and respectful. Step 2) Conduct the meeting in private and keep it brief. Step 3) Have another witness present preferably someone from HR or in management. Step 4) During the meeting, discuss termination meeting, benefits, and references: Focus on the real reason for the termination. Being vague can lead the employee to draw their own conclusions regarding the reasons. The purpose of the meeting is to communicate the message, not to discuss the reasons, or rights and wrongs, behind the decision. You should avoid discussing anything not relevant to the employee s conduct or reason for termination. Review termination benefits, if any (i.e., severance, vacation pay, insurance continuation) and, if applicable, review the separation and release agreement, which ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The United States had never faced a hostage situation like this before. It did not have the Joint Special Operations Task Force trained in planning the mission or the resources for low visibility clandestine missions. The mission to save the hostages is called Operation Eagle Claw, and it was a failure. This mission on the other hand highlighted areas in the military that need tobe improved, and when the country required to carry out special operation missions in the future those resources would be there and ready. Militant student, followers of the Ayatollah stormed the Embassy and took all personnel hostage. This was the second time in 1979 the embassy was taken and only a few people remained behind its gates. The students only planned to take the hostages for a few days, hopping that the United States would return the ousted Shah, to face trial. When the US refused, to return the Shah, the stalemate began, and the students held the hostages for 444 days. The US realized that the hostages are not being released as before, and a rescue mission was needed to secure their freedom. A group was quickly put together to plan the rescue. Dubbed Operation Rice Bowl, flag officers from every branch of the military, began to plan the mission and gather intelligence. In a time where the economy is suffering and people are struggling, a strong government is needed to help everyone achieve success. As a result, the Communist party won the 1935 election simulation because their leader addressed the concerns of nearly every voting bloc, they had eye catching posters with a memorable slogan, and they targeted the Conservatives, one of the main political parties. First and foremost, Tim Buck, the leader of the Communist party, addressed the concerns of nearly every voting bloc at the election. One of the concerns of recent immigrants was the perception that they will work for less and are taking away jobs from the other Canadians. Decameron Day 1 Essay Through the contrasting storylines of Day 1 Story 1, and Day 4 Story 2 in The Decameron, Boccaccio displays the superiority of common folk to people of religious authority, depicting the triumph of reason over religion. The main characters of Day 1 Story 1 and Day 4 Story 2, Ciapelletto and Berto della Massa, respectively, bear a strikingly similar resemblance until they are confronted about words which they have spoken, at which point the storylines diverge. While Ciapelletto is able to successfully fool a friar, Betro della Massa is unable to fool ordinary citizens. By having two seemingly similar stories end so differently, Boccaccio demonstrates his view that natural reason is more valuable than religious authority. Such a contrast depicts the idea that having religious authority and no ability to think for oneself is no better than being an ordinary person. It takes the form of a letter aimed at addressing the Christian congregation. Paul wrote the letter, along with several other epistles, while incarcerated in a Roman prison. With the assistance of Tychicus, Paul sent his letter to Ephesus, the capital of lesser Asia (Weber, 2000). Paul s letter aims to expound on the critical role played by the church as a constituent of God s plans. The church is presented as furthering God s eternal purpose, with Christ as its head. With its comprehensive and insightful analysis, Ephesians offers further discourse on issues pertaining to Christ s church as explained in other epistles. From Ephesians, Christians are also able to comprehend the dimensions of God s grace. The epistle examines the greatness of God s love, highlighting the privilege of a spiritual rebirth made possible by God s grace (Weber, 2000). Paul also warns the Ephesus Christians against the false doctrines and misleading philosophy prevalent in Ephesus at the time (Ephesians 4:14 New International Version). Ephesians establishes the church s place as a critical component in God s divine plan and offers lessons on the workings of salvation and grace. • 23. The Validity And Reliability Of The Measure The Wechsler scales are a measure used to assess intelligence of people; as with any measure, it is important to evaluate the validity and reliability of the measure. Intelligence, for psychometric tests, refers to the innate overall cognitive ability. There are four versions of the Wechsler scales: the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children 4th edition (WISC IV; Wechsler, 2003) for children aged 6 16, the Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence Revised for children aged 4 6 1/2 (WPPSI R; Wechsler, 1989) the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale 4th edition (WAIS IV; Wechsler, 2008) and the Wechsler Abbreviated Scale of Intelligence 2nd edition for adults (WAIS R; Wechsler, 1981). In order to calculate the final IQ, the raw scores are converted into a standardized scale. Whitaker and Wood (2008) showed, through analysing the WISC III, that the standardization of sub scores into one score (such as standardizing results to out of ten or one hundred) will systemically result in some participants IQ being higher than it would be without the conversion (Wechsler, 2004; Whitaker, 2010). So, the validity of the measure is compromised. This could be avoided through unifying the number of questions asked for each sub section. Yet the perhaps more misleading and unavoidable lack of accuracy in a specific IQ score is from having different levels of intelligence in the sub sections. For example, a person might do very well at the verbal IQ (vocabulary, arithmetic) and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The reason Jeopardy makes sense as a test platform is because the average contestant on Jeopardy has such a complex understanding of different subjects, viewers have often compared them to computers. Eugene Finerman told the Wall Street Journal (1990) that he had to scan over at least 200 issues of Time magazine to feel like he could answer a good amount of questions. • 27. Vernon Tull Character Traits Vernon Tull is a fairly wealthy countryman who is friends with the Bundrens, often hiring the older boys to do odd jobs for him. He is characterized as a helpful, kind man. Some characters think Tull is very benevolent, always offering help to the family and assisting them whenever they are in trouble, or in a state of distress. The family, however, is not always appreciative, as sometimes the family refuses to acknowledge their need for succor. Tull knows the family really does need the assistance, and does not let the family s brusqueness get in the way of his facilitation. Tull is important in the novel because of Tull s caring nature towards the Bundren children and his revelation of the novel s themes. When Tull narrates a section of ... When Tull and Cora are talking about the incident at the river, and how Cash almost drowned, Cora says the log was brought thereby God s will as punishment for Anse s lack of fathering ability. The reader, through Tull, can see Cora s hypocritical nature, as Cora repeats that God is the only one that can judge people yet is constantly criticizing the Bundrens throughout the novel (Faulkner). Tull, too, is hypocritical, because he uses religion to pass judgment on Anse. When Vardaman comes to Tull and describes a relationship between Addie and a fish, Tull believes this is nonsense, and blames Anse, like Cora, for being an incompetent father (Faulkner). In addition to Cora s characterization, the reader is better able to understand Jewel s nature because of Tull s narrations. When Tull follows the family to the river, potentially to help them cross the dangerous waters, Jewel is furious with the Tull s offer to help. This shows Jewel s independence as a strong individual, and foreshadows a time later in the novel where Jewel will again show his independence. This foreshadowing comes to fulfillment when Jewel absconds in order to avoid the sale of his beloved horse. • 30. Essay on Exploring Time Travel An essential requirement for the possibility of time travel is the presumption that future and past were somehow real. But according to one popular view only the present is real, and to suppose that the past or future are also real is to suppose that the past and the future are also present a contradiction. According to this sort of Heraclitean metaphysical conception, the future is genuinely open: there is no realm of determinate future fact, no denizens of the future to identify or talk about, though of course in the fullness of time there will be. Travel to the future on this view would be ruled out because there is simply nowhere to go. The past, though, is spoken of as fixed and determinate and not subject to change. ... It is well known that chronological discrepancies arise in connection with the special and general theories of relativity, quite independently of the question of time travel. But relativistic chronological discrepancies are benign in way that time travel discrepancies are not. What would count as a case of travelling into the past? We can conceive that after a certain time having experiences which are exactly like those of 1920. It is just this kind of thought experiment that makes time travel conceivable. But we would not be compelled to treat such experiences as decisive evidence of having traveled into the past. They might be taken as evidence of serious cognitive disorder, for example. David Lewis has argued that time travel stories are perfectly coherent and it is instructive to examine his defense of the possibility of time travel. Lewis does not reject, but accept the reality of future and past. The world we live in, according to Lewis, is a Parmenidean world: a four dimensional manifold of events and the occupants of the world are four dimensional aggregates of stages timelike streaks (1976, p. 145). However a time traveler is not like other aggregates; if he travels towards the past he is a zig zag streak (1976, p. 146). There might also be stretched out streaks which are travelers into ... The very first successful living donor transplant took five and a half hours at Brigham Hospital in Boston in December 23, 1954. The operation was led by Dr. Joseph Murray along with Dr. David. The first organ donor was Ronald Herrick. He donated one of his kidneys to his identical twin brother, Richard Herrick. Richard was dying from a chronic nephritis, an inflammation of the kidneys. • 32. American Slavery Essay Enormous changes swept through nearly every facet of American society in the years between the American Revolution and the Civil War, and the institution of slavery was no exception to this rule. Prior to the Revolution, slavery existed in every American colony. The growing population of settlers was founded on and maintained by notions of inequality, in which indentured servants and slaves provided the necessary manpower for the development of a largely agricultural economy and the settlement of an ever diminishing frontier. First and second generation whites began to equate race and servitude as white indentured servitude waned and black slaves came to represent the primary source of forced labor in the Americas. In the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As natural increase and an end to the importation of African slaves stabilized the slave population, new generations of Creole slaves began to form a distinctive African American culture. At the same time, most white slaveholders were now fourth or fifth generation masters who lived and worked near their slaves and took a keen interest in their welfare and affairs. A new felt paternalism both improved the physical treatment and condition of slaves and served to further restrict and dictate their lives. The rise of evangelicalism in the 1830s provided Southern whites with a justification for demanding obedience by focusing on individual piety and salvation in the hereafter; in the North, by contrast, that new religious fervor became an impetus for social reform and empowered some whites to try to rid the world of its many evils, including slavery. Slavery underwent significant changes as the country moved from the colonial to the antebellum era. The American slavery of 1760 1861 was shaped by the political, economic, and religious changes affecting the nation as a whole; the latter day manifestation of slavery was both a major departure from and an indisputable product of the earlier institution. Following the American Revolution, whites subscribed to new egalitarian notions of government and liberty throughout the United States. • 33. An Overview Glass Of Glass Zakarian 1 Martin Zakarian Professor Kaner Chem 189 12 December 2015 An Overview of Glass One of the most used materials in human history is glass or more specifically silicate glass. Although some types of glasses are called crystal glass, glass is actually an amorphous solid and does not have a crystal structure. It is used in all walks of life ranging from homes to automobiles to laboratories. Historically, the one of the first types of glass that was used by humans to make tools and weapons was the volcanic glass known as obsidian. As for manmade glass, the earliest accounts date back to 5000 BC in the middle east. Primitive methods of glass making were used until about 100BC, when glassblowing was believed to be discovered. This discovery made glass products popular in the Roman Empire since the development of glassblowing allowed glass production to be more efficient and thus less expensive. As the centuries went on more techniques were developed which eventually lead to glass products being widespread. This paper will discuss some of the methods of glass production throughout history, the types of silicate glass, and the different ways that glass can be colored. One of the early methods of glass making was called core forming. This technique made use of a metal rod that had clay attached at one end. The end of the rod with the clay around it was either lowered into molten glass or the glass was poured onto the clay. The glass surrounding the clay would solidify ... The Moral Responsibilities Within A Corporation Corporations can be large or small but they all have some sort of ethical impact on their employees, shareholders, customers, community, and surrounding environments. Richard DeGeorge writes, We can speak of corporations having moral responsibilities to act in certain ways, and they are morally responsible for the consequences of their actions on people. (p. 200). Large corporations are comprised of the board of directors, management, and their workers. They also deal with suppliers, customers, and have competitors. According to Richard DeGeorge, The members of the board are responsible to the shareholders for the selection of honest, effective managers, and especially for the selection for the CEO and of the president of the corporation.
