Creating a Chat with me on Teams Link
With more and more people in hybrid or remote working roles chatting on Teams is becoming the quickest and easiest
way to communicate with colleagues. To facilitate making it easier to chat in teams you can create a ’Chat with me on
Teams’ link you can add to your Outlook signature.
Setting up an Outlook signature
You can add the ‘Chat with me on Teams’ link to an existing signature or create a new one. These instructions will take
you through the whole process for creating a signature and adding the ‘Chat with me on Teams’ link.
▪ Click on the File tab and select Options from the bottom left pane to open the Options window.
▪ In the Options window select Mail  and then Signatures .
▪ Select the New button  in the Signatures and Stationery window. In
the New Signature box  type a name for the new signature you’re
creating.

▪ Type your signature text into the Edit Signature area of the Signatures and Stationery window.
▪ Use the Insert Picture  function to add the Teams Icon . You can download this zip file of various sized Teams
icons if you don’t have one to hand. After you have inserted the Teams Icon type the text you wish to use for the
‘Chat with me’ link. Highlight the link text and select the Hyperlink Icon . Ensure the existing File or Web Page 
option is selected. Paste: https://teams.microsoft.com/l/chat/0/0?users=<youremailaddress> as the hyperlink
.Type your email address connected to your Teams account over the text between the greater and lesser than
icons <>. Then click OK to return to the Signatures and Stationery window. Once you are happy with your
signature click Save  to close and use your signature in emails.
▪ If you have set your signature as the Default all new emails will automatically use the signature. Alternatively, you
can select the Signature from the Signature Icon in the New Message Ribbon.
