Typical Selling Approach And Societal Marketing
TYPICAL SELLING APPROACH AND SOCIETAL MARKETING
INTRODUCTION:
Marketing is usually understood as a bridge between the companies (offering products and services)
and ultimate customer or consumers. Through marketing sales of goods and services take place
between customer and a company in exchange of money. Companies generally use typical or
traditional selling approach for their offerings. Traditionally company gather knowledge of and target
the needs and wants of a particular group of people and then market their products and services to that
targeted group and then through their sales professional sell their goods and services to the people of
targeted group (William, 2011). This is the general practice of all most all the companies and it is
referred to as typical selling.
Typical selling approaches has become absolute now as world is changing at a very fast pace. The
globalization has created a very strong competitive environment. Therefore now companies have
started thinking differently in order to cope up with the competition in the market and corporate
sectors. Companies have started switching to societal marketing approach from typical selling
approach. This helps them to gain not only competitive edge over the other companies offerings but
also provide maximum customer satisfaction and contribution towards the well being of a society.
SOCIETAL MARKETING APPROACH:
The societal marketing approach entails the concept that a business should make the decision about

How Does Heathcliff The Seeker For Justice
Justice can be viewed in so many ways for the righteousness of others. Many principles have this
understanding in using it for their own. In the book of wuthering heights, there was many response to
the mistreatment and mischief in where Heathcliff tries to get what he wants. The protagonist was
viewed in different character, but in my choice, I think Heathcliff was the seeker for justice. In the
beginning, Heathcliff was a lost child, where he was adopted to a family in being named Heathcliff for
not having parents. This lost child found the theory of family and love but unfortunately is tormented
by Hindley, a fellow from the family. These two boys were rivals as if they were destined due to the
love that Heathcliff had for Hindsley s sister,

Seamus Heaney Digging
amp;#8220;Digging ; is about a person looking out of a window at their Father digging, describing
what he/she sees and then the poem goes on to describe what he/she feels.
I believe that the narrative voice in the poem is in fact that of Seamus Heaney. There are a number of
clues that lead me to this conclusion. The first and most obvious one is in the first line,
amp;#8216;Between my finger and my thumb. amp;#8217;
The poet writes in the first person throughout the poem. He writes about his Father and his
Grandfather and he seems to move from describing his Father to describing his Grandfather. He does
this so smoothly that the reader harldy notices the transition that took place. The second clue is
slightly more hidden. The poet ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That line also paints an image in the readers mind of the spade sinking in and the scratching/rasping
sound it makes. An example of how the author does the same thing only with the sense touch is,
amp;#8216;The coarse boot nestled on the lug, the shaft Against the inside knee was levered firmly.
amp;#8217; In this case the second line emphasizes the first. It does this by using the words levered
and firmly they make the whole phrase seem more realistic.
However the best possible example of this is when the poet uses two senses to emphasize sight
amp;#8216;The cold smell of potatoe mould, the squelch and slap Of soggy peat, the curt cuts of an
edge. amp;#8217;
These two lines not only include two senses but one of the senses uses two onomatopoeic words;
squelch and slap. These two words suggest someone moving through thick soggy mud for some
reason it also suggests to me that it was on a cold day.
In my opinion that line is also quite interesting to read because it paints a clear picture in my mind
amp;#8217;s eye of someone toiling and sloshing around in the mud. I think this is because the poet
uses words like; soggy, curt, cuts and edge. Since those words are sharp words they make the phrase
clearer and sharper in my mind amp;#8217;s eye.
I think the poet amp;#8217;s attitute to work is that of a perfectionist. I get this impression because of
how picky he is about describing the way his Father and

Essay about Good Country People
Good Country People Woman, Do You Ever Look Inside?
There are many themes within Flannery O Connor s short story Good Country People . Religion is
definitely one of the more prominent themes that the story holds. Like most of O Connor s works, it
plays a big part in the actions or characteristics of the main characters. This is all on the surface
however. The more important and less accentuated theme is the various facades the characters create
for themselves. These facades prevent them from facing their true grotesque selves. These facades also
hide their weaknesses that they have no wish to face ort just can t understand. People must be
comfortable with every aspect of themselves, because certain people, who in this story ... Show more

The quote acts as foreshadowing for what her attitude towards life will be. We later find out that she is
right, but that she does not live by her credo. Manley Pointer exploits this weakness as soon as she
opened her door. Showing up as a pathetic bible salesman with an ailing heart (which is coincidentally
exactly what Joy Hulga had) laying the old guilt trip on Mrs. Hopewell on how no one wants to deal
with a simple country boy like himself, he attacks her weakness right at the heart of it. Not more than
two minutes after he knocked on the door, he ends up eating dinner with them and at the conclusion is
even invited to return any time he d like. His persona blinds Mrs. Hopewell and prevents her from
being somewhat suspicious of Manley. At the end of the story, we see that Mrs. Hopewell is still
clouded by her weakness and refers to Manly as simple as he passes through a field by Mrs. Hopewell
and Mrs. Freeman. Unlike Mrs. Hopewell, Joy Hulga faces and comes to a realization of her
weakness.
Joy Hulga, who had grown cynical and cold as she grew up with only one leg and heart ailment,
creates an image that she is smarter and better than the rest of the characters in the story. Her
education and self absorption seemed to instill this attitude in her to greater extent than if she hadn t
studied and read so much. Her weakness is the feeling of power she believed she gained from her
studies. She refers to herself as a person who sees

Essay about Fraser Company
Problem Statement
Columbia Plastics division of Fraser Company, the major manufacturer of skylights in the Pacific
Northwest, is facing a severe competition from Vancouver Light which has just announced a further
price cut of 10%. Alice Howell, president of the Columbia Plastics is unsure of which options to
implement 1) cut the prices at a level that just cover the costs, or 2) continue the current pricing policy
and lose market leadership. Fraser is facing the erosion of its market share.

Weaknesses
Columbia lacks a strategic management plan linking its resources to its market opportunities.
It lacks thorough understanding of its target market (the needs of the present and future customers).
It lacks continuous improvement in its production process in order to reduce production costs.
(Columbia s production cost is higher than that of competitors.) Opportunities
Market development: Columbia can develop new markets to sell its current products. (for example,
expansion to California, Mid Western states and international markets)
Product development: Using the plastic moulding skills, it can develop new or improved products that
will appeal to the customers (for example, improved skylights to reduce heat loss).
Threats
The competitor is cutting its price to a level that Columbia cannot match.
Columbia is steadily loosing its market share to the competitor (at a rate of 1,000 units per year).
Market and competitive analysis
Total sales of skylights are 45,000 units per year, primarily in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and
Montana. The sales of skylights have levelled off in recent years. Prior to the advent of Vancouver
Light, Columbia had about a 70% share of this market. Colombia also occasionally sells a large order

Visual Effects Of The Great Gatsby
According to Prince, visual effects enables filmmakers to overcome the limitations of time, budget
and place that otherwise would restrict the stories they could film. (P.272). visual effects such as matte
painting, and animation allows filmmakers to film imaginary world and beyond. This week s movie
clip showed images and clips of before and after the visual effects in the Great Gatsby. I was excited
to see the visual effects used in this movie as it is one of my old time favorite. Just seeing how the
visual effects brought the movie to life was so amazing. I think this is on the list of one of the most
important elements in film design, and I really think it doesn t get as much recognition as it should. As
the clips showed us before the visual effects, the movie looks dull and uninterested, but as soon as it
switched to after the visual effects were added, it seems so much more interesting and colorful. ...

One of my favorite visual effects shown was when Leonardo DiCaprio was driving in his car and the
before scene just showed him sitting there, however the visual effects showed him diving on a bridge
and the long shot they used was very impressive and beautiful. Try to imagine a movie without the use
of visual effects, let s take the Great Gatsby for example. If there wasn t any visual effects, the house
that Gatsby lived in would just be a big, colorless mansion, and the scene where he is driving on the
bridge would not be able to make it onto the movie screen because, in reality he just there siting in a

Importance Of Ethics In Engineering
Engineering and ethics are two things that most may, at first thought, believe have nothing to do with
one another, but in order to be a successful engineer, one must fully understand the ethical
responsibilities that they have. Engineering ethics is the moral principles that an engineer must uphold
throughout their entire career. Engineers have an obligation to themselves and society to understand
these ethical responsibilities and maintain their own ethical values and responsibilities.
Introduction
In order to become a licensed engineer in the United States, an engineer must pass their professional
engineering exam that will test the engineer on a variety of subjects, one of those subjects being
ethics. The National Society of Professional Engineers has adopted and implemented their Code of
Ethics since 1964. The fundamentals of the Code of Ethics state that:
Engineers, in the fulfillment of their professional duties, shall:
1. Hold paramount the safety, health, and welfare of the public.
2. Perform services only in areas of their competence.
3. Issue public statements only in an objective and truthful manner.
4. Act for each employer or client as faithful agents or trustees.
5. Avoid deceptive acts.
6. Conduct themselves honorably, responsibly, ethically, and lawfully so as to enhance the honor,
reputation, and usefulness of the profession
In summary, an engineer must uphold all responsibilities and perform all duties necessary to maintain
an ethical connection to society that includes but is not limited to the safety and positive welfare of the
public.
Case Studies
Throughout history there has been multiple example of ethics in engineering, both good and bad. The
following case studies are examples of how ethics play an important role in engineering and whether
or not the subjects of discussion acted in an ethical way or not. We will examine the ethical issues
involved in each case and how they impacted society and other in the field of engineering. This will
also include my personal opinion on each case study and what ethical issues I believe are involved in
each case.

The Performance Report Of The United States Air Force
How much effort would the average employee put in at work if they quality and quantity of work
produced, did not have any effect on their annual performance report? Most workers would do the
minimum, because there are no incentives to exceed the standard. How can the senior leaders
effectively differentiate between employees, to ensure that the correct individuals are being promoted
when all the employees receive the highest ratings on their annual performance reports? This is one of
the problems with the current performance reports in the United States Air Force today. This paper
will begin with a brief background on the current performance report issues, the new performance
report, and the effect on the individual perceptions. The paper will continue with how the group is
using communication to influence, and finally, how a change in culture is needed for the new system
to work.
The United States Air Force has been using the same basic process for performance reports and
promotions, with only a few minor changes since their inception 45 years ago. With the manning in
the Air Force being the smallest it has been since it s inception in 1947, the senior leaders want to
ensure they are promoting the best performers (Harper, 2014). Since military leaders can give orders
that could mean an individuals death and is a hierarchy, it is very important that a leader be the most
qualified person in technical and leadership ability. The Air Force uses the Weighted Airmen

Atherosclerosis Research Papers
Brief Introduction (max 200 words)
Although it was believed for a long time that second hand smoke only affects smokers, since the early
1980s it has been known that non smoking family members of smokers have twice the risk of
experiencing heart attacks than those in non smoking households. Consequently, people living and
working in environments that contain second hand smoke suffer coronary heart diseases (CHD) due to
the toxic substances of tobacco smoke.
Key concepts (max 500 words)
Second hand smoke (SHS) consists of smoke from the burning end of a cigarette and the smoke
breathed out by smokers. SHS contains more than 7,000 chemicals and more than 200 of these are
known poisons, such as carbon monoxide, hydrogen cyanide, and methyl isocyanate. ... Show more

Due to the plaque, arteries become narrower, slowly blocking the blood flow and causing increased
risks of CHD. When the artery narrows and blood flow is reduced, the oxygen supply is decreased.
Most of the time a blood clot forms and blocks the artery, thus stopping the blood flow. If the oxygen
supply to the heart is reduced, a heart attack can occur. If the oxygen supply to the brain is cut off, a
stroke can occur. Therefore SHS accelerates atherosclerosis in the arteries and aorta and the toxic
substances in the smoke that builds up in the arteries, results in increased risks of getting
cardiovascular diseases.
When someone smokes indoors, the smoke cannot be kept away by opening a window or using a fan.
In fact, research shows that toxins from smoke remain in a person s hair and clothes and the
surrounding environment. These toxins, are hazardous to infants and children.
The only way to avoid the risks of smoke is to avoid places where smoking occurs. That can be done
by making sure family, friends, and visitors never smoke inside your house or vehicle, thus helping to
keep the house smoke free by. Choose to eat in restaurants that are smoke free as non smoking
sections do not provide protection from secondhand

With the advancements made, it is no longer exclusive to soccer.
Wearable Tech and Injuries The sport that wearable technology has made a very significant impact on
is American Football. Injuries, especially blows to the head are being tended to and recognized earlier
with the use of the devices. For example Reebok s CheckLight, is a skull cap that works with sensors
to capture head impact during play, by lighting up a certain color; green indicates low impact, yellow
indicates a moderate hit, and red denotes a very hard hit, meaning that athlete needs to seek medical
attention before returning to play (Wareable Pro, 2016).
This is extremely groundbreaking, because it is contributing the safety of the athletes. While the
CheckLight evaluates the severity of the blow, the highest concern for concussion severity is the rate
at which the head accelerates. Playing through concussions can put the athlete at a dangerously
increased threat of suffering long time effects, such as chronic traumatic encephalopathy. CTE has
been linked to depression, memory loss, dementia, and suicide, and makes the brains of 45 year old
athletes look like those of 90 year old Alzheimer s patients (Katwala, 2017). This is why it is
extremely important for athletes to be removed from play immediately. In addition to head injury
prevention, the wearable devices also aid in

Discuss The Difference Between New England And The...
After waiting over 100 years before England joined the race for colonization, in 1607 England has
finally established a permanent colony in Jamestown. Years later, in 1620, supposedly trying to land in
Virginia, the Puritans accidentally landed in Plymouth Massachusetts. Therefore, while New England
and the Chesapeake region were both settled and ruled by the English, by the 1700s they had evolved
into two very separate distinct societies due to the differences in colonization, settlers, and economic
activities in each region.
The difference in colonization led to distinct societies between New England and the Chesapeake
regions. In 1607, after Sir Walter Raleigh s colony of Roanoke was unsuccessful, Jamestown was
successfully colonized and was due to an economic purpose. As stated by John Smith, Dig gold, wash
gold, refine gold, load gold (Doc 5). John Smith clearly shows how the colonists only cared about
riches. They didn t care about establishing a colony as they were occupied and focused on the path to
riches. More than half of us died (Doc 5). Due to this greed of riches and lack of control in the colony,
many settlers as a consequence died. However, due to John Smith and his control over the colony, led
Jamestown to not fail like the colony of Roanoke. Now while colonists focused on the economic gain
they would receive from Jamestown, the Puritans focused on the religious freedom they would finally
acquire. Now the Puritans wanted to separate from the Church of

Q1: Apple faced with two main pricing decisions for its range of iPhones. The first one is a skimming
price decision and the second one is a penetration pricing decision. 1. Skimming price decision
When Apple first launched the new iPhone 3GS, it made a skimming price decision which means it
aims to sell to the top of the market and focuses on maximizing profits in short term so it could
recover the research and development costs. 2. Penetration pricing decision
As the iPhones have moved through their product life cycle (from the introduction to the growth or

2. Target costing one type of the demand based pricing.
Apple could first use market research such as consumer surveys to identify the customers
requirements of the quality and features of the product and their perception of a fair price before the
product is designed.
3. Trial pricing
Apple could price the new iPhone at a low price for a limited period of time to attract customers. This
strategy can help the company to get customer acceptance at the initial period and then bring profits
by increasing the price.
Q4: As far as I am concerned, I would recommend skimming price and trial pricing strategy to Apple
during its introduction stage of its product life cycle. When Apple moves into the growth or maturity
stage of life cycle, I would recommend the penetration pricing strategy.
In terms of a skimming price decision if Apple doesn t know much about the customer demand for its
new product it would be useful. The reason is that it is safer to start with a high price, which can be
reduced if customers initially refuse to purchase. In this case, as Apple s senior vice president said the
new iPhone 3GS has some unique competitive advantages in the phone market such as the wide range
of applications and faster load time. These benefits make many customers feel they must have it no
matter what the costs, that is to say, during the introductory stage of the new product, the demand is

Drug Legalization In Canada Essay
Summary
Recently there has been a lot of news surrounding the legalization of Marijuana in Canada. The
legalization is to actually take place in 2017. However, the discussion of this topic has already begun.
Many people are requesting the government to allow pardons on past possession charges. It is their
opinion that if the drug is going to be legalized sooner or later, it is justified to pardon the past
offences. The article even mentions two men whose lives are affected by the criminal record of having
minor narcotics. They both state that they are unable to travel abroad (namely to america), and have
personal issues such as landlords refusing to rent to them. It is their opinion, alongside others, that just
because of a small charge their lives do not need to be affected so much. Especially considering that
the government is going to legalize the drug anyway. The article also mentions how the previous
conservative government made it harder to receive a pardon. Due to this, many people have be unable

Within the center of this division lay Berlin. Russia s communist intentions were becoming clearer to
western powers. Stalin had no plans to back down from further conflict. In 1946, Churchill delivered
the Iron Curtain speech, symbolizing future relations with the communist powers. In 1947, U.S.
president Truman established his famous doctrine of containment policy, which outlined in vague
terms the west s distain and containment intentions of further communist expansion by Russia. In
1948, Americans witnessed the pressurized showdown in Berlin between western forces and Russian
occupiers, which eventually led to the division of Germany, and the construction of the Berlin Wall.
Once, the Russians began developing and testing nuclear weapons, and the subsequent development of

How significant were the Republican policies in causing the great depression?

between 1919 and 1941...
The nature of industrialisation in the 1930s
The nature of industrialisation changed in the 1930s. In the 1920s industrialisation had occurred
because of free enterprise and big business. But with the onset of the Depression, industrial output fell
dramatically. (statistics needed). To combat this, the federal government adopted a role of directly
stimulating industrial growth. The Public Works Administration (PWA) instituted in began many large
industrial projects with the aim of spurring the economy and providing many jobs. The Tennessee
Valley Authority (TVA) was a federal project to energise the economy through a massive industrial
scheme sponsored by the federal government. Twenty five dams were built to reshape the land and
generate hydro electricity, which could further contribute to industrial growth. Another example of
government leadership of industry was the National Recovery Administration (NRA), which
attempted to foster industrial growth through the creation of codes for each industry. These federal
programs fundamentally changed the nature of industrialisation. In the 1930s, the government s
approach to industrialisation was more akin to socialist state style industrialisation than it was to the
American capitalism style industrialisation of the 1920s. Further, the federal government s

Real Courage
I wanted you to see what real courage is, instead of getting the idea that courage is a man with a gun in
his hand. It s when you know you re licked before you begin but you begin anyway and you see it
through no matter what. You rarely win, but sometimes you do (Lee 149). In the book To KIll A
Mockingbird, written by Harper Lee, shows what it was like to live in Alabama in the early 1900s. In
the book, Atticus wants to show his children that in some situations they may not come up as the
victors; but, they shouldn t give up on what they believe in because of that one incident. Atticus also
wanted everyone to treat each other equally, even if they were a different gender or race. He wanted

He wants them to apprehend that whether or not they triumph in a situation is not what matters;
however, it is the fact that they tried and did their absolute best. The one thing that doesn t abide by
majority rule is a person s conscience (Lee 140). This quote explains that Atticus will do what he
believes is honorable, even if other people don t agree with him. He tries to implement this lesson on
his children by teaching them that they shouldn t use violence to solve their problems. Scout tries to
take this into deliberation, but she fails when Cecil Jacobs remarks something crude about her father.
No matter what anybody says to you, don t you let em get your goat. Try fighting with your head for a
change... it s a good one, even if it does resist learning (Lee 101). Atticus tells Scout this after she
beats Cecil Jacobs for taunting her about her father defending a black man. In this quote, he implies
that more trouble will come their way and that she shouldn t take offense to what they were saying.
Atticus takes risks if he believes that what he is doing is the right choice. He takes the Tom Robinson
case, even when everyone in Maycomb believes he shouldn t. Yeah, but Atticus aims to defend him.
That s what I don t like about it (Lee 218). This quote clarifies, that Atticus believes in taking a stand
for what he believes in. Many people believe that he should not be defending Tom Robinson because
of his race. However, Atticus presumes that everyone in Maycomb should be evaluated equally even if
they are from a different ethnic

The Depiction Of Zeus By Hesiod
The Depiction of Zeus The mythological character and God, Zeus, is portrayed in many ways, by
many different people. Hesiod describes Zeus as being relentless in his fury. When he gets mad he
unleashes all of his power. If his brother Hades wasn t in charge of the Underworld, he d make all of
Hell break loose. For example, in Hesiod s Theogony, which is about when Zeus defeated his father,
Cronus, he says, Then Zeus did not hold back any longer, but now immediately his heart was filled
with strength and he showed clearly all his force. (Morford and Lenardon 85) He tends to treat others,
mortals and immortals, very unfairly. Two mortals could do the same exact type of sacrilege towards
him, and depending on how he felt that day, he would take two very different approaches to how he
would treat them. He also doesn t take any threats towards him very lightly at all. If anyone ever
threatens him, he normally punishes them very severely, if he doesn t destroy them completely. Hesiod
s approach to Zeus behavior is overdramatic, and makes it seem more extreme than it probably would
ve been.
In Hesiod s stories of the Ages of Creation, some of the humans were like gods, but those created in
the Age of Bronze and the Age of Iron were terrible. They supposedly performed the painful and
violent deeds of Ares. Those in the Iron Age were constantly given troubles by the gods, and they are
randomly destroyed in the night.
Ovid s perspective of Zeus is completely opposite of that of

Realism In Life In The Iron Mills
Life in the Iron Mills is a novella that is hard to classify as a specific genre. The genre that fits the
most into this novella is realism, because of the separation of classes, the hard work that a person has
to put into their every day life to try and make a difference, and the way society influences the actions
of people and their relationships. However, no matter what genre is specifically chosen, there will be
other genres present that contradict the genre of choice. While the novella shows romanticism,
naturalism, and realism, this essay is specifically centered around realism. The ultimate theme in

classes when the people in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She continues on to describe that the mill is divided into by shifts, a group of workers come in for a
while and work, and then another group comes in and relieves that group. The point of this quote is to
demonstrate that many people are unaware of what really goes on inside the mill, even though they
live in a manufacturing town. Davis goes into detail about what the mill is like. Fire in every horrible
form: pits of flame waving in the wind: liquid metal flames writhing in tortuous streams through the
sand; wide caldrons filled with boiling fire, over which bent ghastly wretches stirring the strange
brewing; and through all, crowds of half clad man, looking like revengeful ghosts in the red light,
hurried, throwing masses of glittering fire. It was like a street in Hell. (Davis 1225) It is important to
remember that the novella shows realism, but it also has a case of romanticism that backs up the
realism efforts. The romanticism is displayed through her descriptive view of the Mill, where most
that live in the manufacturing town do not realize how strenuous and horrid the working conditions
are like.
Hugh and Deborah have an interesting relationship, because of their interesting relationship it
exemplifies realism perfectly. Their relationship could be seen as a one sided deal, because of the way
Deb feels for Hugh, she is willing to do whatever she can to make him happy, even if that means

easier to look for any wanted information as it was a lot quicker and I was able to personalise the type
of search that I wanted to conduct. I also had the facility to screen print, copy the main points and get
the images instantly so that I could show it as my reference. Non internet sources was also very useful
to find the information but I had to spend more time while researching as I had to flick through many
pages just to find the article about the laptops and the information that I gained were all very limited.
The possible improvement would be that if I tried researching more using the non internet sources by
talking with the technology experts etc. There were many dates that I had come across during the
research of the pull out section. In order to check that if the dates were correct I looked into many
different search engines which showed that the dated that I obtained were accurate. To check the
reliability of the results in the search engines I researched typed Osborne 1 in Google, Bing, Yahoo
and Dogpile.
Even if I used four different search engines the results that I found were very similar

Glorification In Death Essay
Glorification in Death
The two pieces of art Standard of Ur (c. 2600 B.C.E.) and Sarcophagus of Junius Bassus (c. 359 C.E.),
both by unknown artists, were ceremonious pieces in their time, and captivating works of art in ours.
While the artists are unknown, their work is indicative of the time period in which they lived.
Religious imagery and depiction of stories were subjects many artists pursued, especially in the death
of their leaders. The sarcophagus was made for a member of the senatorial family, Junius Bassus, this

warriors who protected the people, secured access to water, natural resources and the King who served
as an intermediary between the people and the gods. This artifact is part of the Early Dynastic Period

Difference Between Loyalty And Loyalty
Considering True Loyalty:
Loyal customers are excessively important to any business, and businesses spend great amount of their
time, energy and money analyzing and captivate those customers. However, the usual definition of a
loyal customer that we consider is a high spending customer, and that definition is imperfect.
Marketing to customers based on true loyalty requires more: complicated measurement, better spend
data, and considering that a regular customer is not the same as a loyal customer.
Traditional View of Loyalty:
Those who are Retailers commonly define a loyal customer as a high spending customer. However,

True loyalty exists when
Customers feel safe,
Appreciated and smart
Every single one is substantially affecting idea, but they are vague, unearthly, and exceedingly
difficult to make progress able. They may not state it clearly, but when presented with this type of
suggestion, many marketers secretly scratch their heads. What does an emotional connection indicate?
What do I do to create it? How do I know if I have accomplished it?
The Emotional Drivers of Loyalty:
Although Loyalty can be measured in behavioral conditions (repeat purchases, share of wallet, etc.), it
is a product of an emotional connection. Emotions make behavior; loyalty is produced when a product
makes a customer experience a positive way. Once we recognize which emotions makes loyalty, we
can build up progress able plans to enable customers to create this emotional

Anne Carson is a very intelligent and well rounded writer. When I first read Anne Carson s Short Talks

then I took a second look at her work and realized there was much more to it than just crazy jumbled
ideas. Short Talks is a mixture of many elements. It has argumentation, facts, personal opinions, and
an unconventional way of writing.
As I was rereading the Short Talks , I noticed names, facts, and a lesson to go along with each Short

Elektra took this very hard, so she and her brother Orestes plotted revenge against her mother and step
father. Elektra s father had been against things like this, but Elektra became so bitter she began to
commit many crimes. So this short talk helps us decide between what is major and minor in our life.
This helps to keep from overreacting over the small things in life.
Another lesson comes from the short talk On Reading. This takes the reader back to their childhood.
No, not everyone enjoys reading, but it is also great for you. In this short talk I got the imagery that
this little girl was on a road trip with her parents, her father does not enjoy reading but she does. So
while on the way to their destination, she reads Madame Bovary. While reading she takes a moment to
look around at the sights passing through the window. This just gets the reader to truly think and
assess the way they perceive the way they view reading. Having someone who enjoys reading, and
someone who finds no pleasure in reading is what makes the world go round. Not everyone
appreciates, or finds interest in the same things, but do not discourage anyone if you have no interest
in it.
If I were to write some short talks I could use an Anne Carson like writing style, or writing that flows
eloquently. I would try to help the reader to understand what is being said, but to also think about what
is before them. I would include an introduction in my short talks

12 Angry Men Film Analysis
12 Angry Men
For many books, details are missed or changed when a movie is made. Though most of the time this
can lead to problems, this is not the case with 12 Angry Men. 12 Angry Men is about 12 Jurors trying
to decide whether a boy is guilty or innocent. Following the closing arguments in a murder trial, the
boy seems undeniably guilty, and likewise, 11 of the jurors start with a vote of guilty. The only juror
standing up for him is juror number 8, Henry Fonda, and the rest of the story follows how he uses his
arguments and convinces the rest of the jurors to vote acquittal. Unlike many other book movie duos,
in this case the director is able to not only retain all important details, he is able to improve on the
book by removing unnecessary details, convey emotion realistically, and background noise. Firstly,
the removal of unnecessary details helps improve the movie when the dialogue is removed during
Juror #10 s rant, and when Juror #7 s anti immigrant personality is omitted from the movie. When
Juror #10 starts talking about that type of people and how life don t mean as much to them, (Rose 64)
in the book the other jurors try to tell him to stop, which conveys the wrong feeling because it shows
they are listening to him. On the other hand, in the movie, they simply walk to a corner of the room
and ignore him, which shows that they don t want to listen and will continue to ignore him, which
actually showed how they felt better than when they tried to talk.

Analysis Of Chester Himes s If He Hollers Let Him Go
In Chester Himes , If He Hollers Let Him Go the racial tension between blacks and whites was
perfectly portrayed by protagonist Bob Jones and white counterpart, Madge. The relationship between
the two was a great example of the advantage that was taken of African Americans in the United
States before the Civil Rights Movement. Being friends with someone opposite of your race was
frowned upon. With that in mind, for a white woman and a black man to be in a relationship was
completely unacceptable. There were exceptions for any interracial couples. The memoir by Lillian
Smith, Killers of The Dream also discussed the sexual tension between blacks and whites. In the 1940

Back in that time, it only took the word of a white man or woman to convince a jury, mostly

Bob, to even think about wanting to pursue any type of sexual relationship with Madge involves
enough risk that he cannot take because it could easily compromise his relationship with Alice and
most obvious, his life. Lillian Smith explains in her memoir that in order to move forward in societal
change, something needs to be done about the treatment of interracial marriage and how it is seen in
the United States. In order for that change to occur, first we need to recognize the way African
Americans are being treated in our society. There is a tremendous stigma of having sex before
marriage in the deep south back in the 1940 s as well as today. Being that Smith was raised in a
conservative town with values reflecting that notion, it would be extremely hard to get away with

The Alchemist Reflection Essay
I was taught to strive not because there were any guarantees of success, but because the act of striving
is itself the only way to keep faith with life. This is a quote said by Madeline Albright, an American
politician and diplomat. What Madeleine Albright means is that when you strive, you are not only
have a chance of success, but you are giving faith and other good qualities to your surroundings. This
is a lesson that Santiago learns throughout his whole journey. In the novel, The Alchemist, by Paulo
Coelho, Santiago learns, When we strive to become better, everything around us becomes better, too.
First, Santiago arrives at a crystal shop and works there to earn back money he had lost. Next, while
Santiago is walking, he a has a vision of a terrible war. Finally, Santiago strives to turn himself into
the wind.
First, when Santiago first arrives at the crystal shop, he spends one year working hard to earn back his
lost money. For instance, as Santiago is finishing his first year at the shop, the crystal merchant gives
his thanks to Santiago: I am proud of you he said. You brought me a new feeling to my crystal shop
(63). As Santiago continuously works for one year, he is able to earn back his lost money as well as
improve the merchant s shop, providing easier living for the merchant and the customers. Santiago
provides the merchant with an on going line of customers and a great profit. To add on, the customers
are able to feel the luxuries that are bought with the crystal glasses. But, most importantly, Santiago is
able to learn some very important life lessons that help him throughout the rest of his journey.
Ultimately, as Santiago strives to earn back his stolen money, he is not only improving his life, but he
is a also improving the lives of the merchant and customers.
Nest, while Santiago is taking a stroll, he sees two hawks violently flashing at each other, giving him a
vivid vision of a gruesome war at the oasis. For example, as Santiago shares his vision with the
chieftains, they decide to give Santiago a chance: Tomorrow, we are going to break the agreement that
says no one at the oasis can carry arms. Throughout the entire day we will be on the lookout for our
enemies (111).

Finally, the researchers could develop a model that was theoretically sound, produced satisfactory

(Prozzi et al., 2003) The condition of the pavement should be known to the authorities to make an
accurate and informed decision about the maintenance program and subsequently about the budget
that is required for the program. But knowing the condition of road for maintenance purpose is not
straightforward as failure can occur any time, as it is a highly variable event. The modeling of event
duration becomes difficult because of the variability in failure time. Truncation bias and censoring
bias are associate with the failure events. In a survey if we include only failure events it will give rise
to truncation bias and if failure events are censored model may suffer from censoring bias. The author
uses probabilistic duration modeling techniques for analysis because these models can evaluate
stochastic nature of payment failure and takes care of the censored data to be incorporated for
modeling because in case the censored data is not accounted for modeling it will result in biased
model parameters. The advantages of using probabilistic duration modeling techniques is that it is
based on robust statistical principles and the failure times are predicted better. In short, the pavement

J.D. Salinger drops the reader into the middle of his stories. Without any sense of characters, setting,
or plot, the reader is thrown into the lives of others as they scramble to unearth the truth behind the
scenes. Salinger provides complex stories of relatable characters; some are stories of happiness and
others are of loss and dysfunction. Often times, the characters have difficulties dealing with the harsh
realities of their lives and have to look towards alternate means of coping. Society fosters an overly
structured environment with little room for atypical relationships, ideals, and behaviors. Anything that
is outside of the normal is immediately written off and labeled as deviant behavior, something that is
often frowned upon in this day and age. The characters in Nine Stories by J.D. Salinger use various
coping mechanisms to escape the reality that societal norms and traditionalism present. Seymour
Glass of A Perfect Day for Bananafish is a twisted character who, having returned from the traumas of
war, has a hard time fitting back into a routine of normalcy. His partner, Muriel, is more interested in
the material things that surround her than she is with her lover. When Seymour cannot find the
partnership that he needs with Muriel, he is forced to switch to an alternate source of companionship.
He meets a young girl named Sybil on the beach, and quickly bonds with her.

The Handmaid s Day-Personal Narrative
It was dark, and that worried Anton. He tried not to come outside during this time of night, (because
that was when they came out) but this was the only time his contact would agree to meet with him.
Looking across the horizon, Anton could see the sun going down. Huh, he says. I can t remember the
last time I actually saw a sunset. He kept walking, and eventually reached the outskirts of the city. I
can t remember what this place was called, he thought as he walked. A worn down building answered
his question; tattered letters on the side of the wall displayed the words NYPD.
At last, he found his contact. A skinny, slight man, Lester was as strange as anyone Anton had ever
met. He spoke with a strange accent, and seemed unsure on his feet.

  • 2. Typical Selling Approach And Societal Marketing TYPICAL SELLING APPROACH AND SOCIETAL MARKETING INTRODUCTION: Marketing is usually understood as a bridge between the companies (offering products and services) and ultimate customer or consumers. Through marketing sales of goods and services take place between customer and a company in exchange of money. Companies generally use typical or traditional selling approach for their offerings. Traditionally company gather knowledge of and target the needs and wants of a particular group of people and then market their products and services to that targeted group and then through their sales professional sell their goods and services to the people of targeted group (William, 2011). This is the general practice of all most all the companies and it is referred to as typical selling. Typical selling approaches has become absolute now as world is changing at a very fast pace. The globalization has created a very strong competitive environment. Therefore now companies have started thinking differently in order to cope up with the competition in the market and corporate sectors. Companies have started switching to societal marketing approach from typical selling approach. This helps them to gain not only competitive edge over the other companies offerings but also provide maximum customer satisfaction and contribution towards the well being of a society. In the book of wuthering heights, there was many response to the mistreatment and mischief in where Heathcliff tries to get what he wants. The protagonist was viewed in different character, but in my choice, I think Heathcliff was the seeker for justice. In the beginning, Heathcliff was a lost child, where he was adopted to a family in being named Heathcliff for not having parents. This lost child found the theory of family and love but unfortunately is tormented by Hindley, a fellow from the family. • 4. Seamus Heaney Digging amp;#8220;Digging ; is about a person looking out of a window at their Father digging, describing what he/she sees and then the poem goes on to describe what he/she feels. I believe that the narrative voice in the poem is in fact that of Seamus Heaney. There are a number of clues that lead me to this conclusion. The first and most obvious one is in the first line, amp;#8216;Between my finger and my thumb. amp;#8217; The poet writes in the first person throughout the poem. He writes about his Father and his Grandfather and he seems to move from describing his Father to describing his Grandfather. He does this so smoothly that the reader harldy notices the transition that took place. The second clue is slightly more hidden. The poet ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... That line also paints an image in the readers mind of the spade sinking in and the scratching/rasping sound it makes. An example of how the author does the same thing only with the sense touch is, amp;#8216;The coarse boot nestled on the lug, the shaft Against the inside knee was levered firmly. amp;#8217; In this case the second line emphasizes the first. It does this by using the words levered and firmly they make the whole phrase seem more realistic. However the best possible example of this is when the poet uses two senses to emphasize sight amp;#8216;The cold smell of potatoe mould, the squelch and slap Of soggy peat, the curt cuts of an edge. amp;#8217; These two lines not only include two senses but one of the senses uses two onomatopoeic words; squelch and slap. These two words suggest someone moving through thick soggy mud for some reason it also suggests to me that it was on a cold day. In my opinion that line is also quite interesting to read because it paints a clear picture in my mind amp;#8217;s eye of someone toiling and sloshing around in the mud. I think this is because the poet uses words like; soggy, curt, cuts and edge. Since those words are sharp words they make the phrase clearer and sharper in my mind amp;#8217;s eye. I think the poet amp;#8217;s attitute to work is that of a perfectionist. I get this impression because of how picky he is about describing the way his Father and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Essay about Good Country People Good Country People Woman, Do You Ever Look Inside? There are many themes within Flannery O Connor s short story Good Country People . Religion is definitely one of the more prominent themes that the story holds. Like most of O Connor s works, it plays a big part in the actions or characteristics of the main characters. This is all on the surface however. The more important and less accentuated theme is the various facades the characters create for themselves. These facades prevent them from facing their true grotesque selves. These facades also hide their weaknesses that they have no wish to face ort just can t understand. People must be comfortable with every aspect of themselves, because certain people, who in this story ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The quote acts as foreshadowing for what her attitude towards life will be. We later find out that she is right, but that she does not live by her credo. Manley Pointer exploits this weakness as soon as she opened her door. Showing up as a pathetic bible salesman with an ailing heart (which is coincidentally exactly what Joy Hulga had) laying the old guilt trip on Mrs. Hopewell on how no one wants to deal with a simple country boy like himself, he attacks her weakness right at the heart of it. Not more than two minutes after he knocked on the door, he ends up eating dinner with them and at the conclusion is even invited to return any time he d like. His persona blinds Mrs. Hopewell and prevents her from being somewhat suspicious of Manley. At the end of the story, we see that Mrs. Hopewell is still clouded by her weakness and refers to Manly as simple as he passes through a field by Mrs. Hopewell and Mrs. Freeman. Unlike Mrs. Hopewell, Joy Hulga faces and comes to a realization of her weakness. Joy Hulga, who had grown cynical and cold as she grew up with only one leg and heart ailment, creates an image that she is smarter and better than the rest of the characters in the story. Her education and self absorption seemed to instill this attitude in her to greater extent than if she hadn t studied and read so much. Her weakness is the feeling of power she believed she gained from her studies. She refers to herself as a person who sees ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Importance Of Ethics In Engineering Engineering and ethics are two things that most may, at first thought, believe have nothing to do with one another, but in order to be a successful engineer, one must fully understand the ethical responsibilities that they have. Engineering ethics is the moral principles that an engineer must uphold throughout their entire career. Engineers have an obligation to themselves and society to understand these ethical responsibilities and maintain their own ethical values and responsibilities. Introduction In order to become a licensed engineer in the United States, an engineer must pass their professional engineering exam that will test the engineer on a variety of subjects, one of those subjects being ethics. The National Society of Professional Engineers has adopted and implemented their Code of Ethics since 1964. The fundamentals of the Code of Ethics state that: Engineers, in the fulfillment of their professional duties, shall: 1. Hold paramount the safety, health, and welfare of the public. 2. Perform services only in areas of their competence. 3. Issue public statements only in an objective and truthful manner. 4. Act for each employer or client as faithful agents or trustees. 5. Avoid deceptive acts. 6. Conduct themselves honorably, responsibly, ethically, and lawfully so as to enhance the honor, reputation, and usefulness of the profession In summary, an engineer must uphold all responsibilities and perform all duties necessary to maintain an ethical connection to society that includes but is not limited to the safety and positive welfare of the public. Case Studies Throughout history there has been multiple example of ethics in engineering, both good and bad. The following case studies are examples of how ethics play an important role in engineering and whether or not the subjects of discussion acted in an ethical way or not. We will examine the ethical issues involved in each case and how they impacted society and other in the field of engineering. The Performance Report Of The United States Air Force How much effort would the average employee put in at work if they quality and quantity of work produced, did not have any effect on their annual performance report? Most workers would do the minimum, because there are no incentives to exceed the standard. How can the senior leaders effectively differentiate between employees, to ensure that the correct individuals are being promoted when all the employees receive the highest ratings on their annual performance reports? This is one of the problems with the current performance reports in the United States Air Force today. This paper will begin with a brief background on the current performance report issues, the new performance report, and the effect on the individual perceptions. With the manning in the Air Force being the smallest it has been since it s inception in 1947, the senior leaders want to ensure they are promoting the best performers (Harper, 2014). Consequently, people living and working in environments that contain second hand smoke suffer coronary heart diseases (CHD) due to the toxic substances of tobacco smoke. Key concepts (max 500 words) Second hand smoke (SHS) consists of smoke from the burning end of a cigarette and the smoke breathed out by smokers. SHS contains more than 7,000 chemicals and more than 200 of these are known poisons, such as carbon monoxide, hydrogen cyanide, and methyl isocyanate. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Due to the plaque, arteries become narrower, slowly blocking the blood flow and causing increased risks of CHD. When the artery narrows and blood flow is reduced, the oxygen supply is decreased. Most of the time a blood clot forms and blocks the artery, thus stopping the blood flow. If the oxygen supply to the heart is reduced, a heart attack can occur. If the oxygen supply to the brain is cut off, a stroke can occur. Therefore SHS accelerates atherosclerosis in the arteries and aorta and the toxic substances in the smoke that builds up in the arteries, results in increased risks of getting cardiovascular diseases. When someone smokes indoors, the smoke cannot be kept away by opening a window or using a fan. In fact, research shows that toxins from smoke remain in a person s hair and clothes and the surrounding environment. These toxins, are hazardous to infants and children. The only way to avoid the risks of smoke is to avoid places where smoking occurs. Injuries, especially blows to the head are being tended to and recognized earlier with the use of the devices. For example Reebok s CheckLight, is a skull cap that works with sensors to capture head impact during play, by lighting up a certain color; green indicates low impact, yellow indicates a moderate hit, and red denotes a very hard hit, meaning that athlete needs to seek medical attention before returning to play (Wareable Pro, 2016). This is extremely groundbreaking, because it is contributing the safety of the athletes. While the CheckLight evaluates the severity of the blow, the highest concern for concussion severity is the rate at which the head accelerates. Playing through concussions can put the athlete at a dangerously increased threat of suffering long time effects, such as chronic traumatic encephalopathy. CTE has been linked to depression, memory loss, dementia, and suicide, and makes the brains of 45 year old athletes look like those of 90 year old Alzheimer s patients (Katwala, 2017). After waiting over 100 years before England joined the race for colonization, in 1607 England has finally established a permanent colony in Jamestown. Years later, in 1620, supposedly trying to land in Virginia, the Puritans accidentally landed in Plymouth Massachusetts. Therefore, while New England and the Chesapeake region were both settled and ruled by the English, by the 1700s they had evolved into two very separate distinct societies due to the differences in colonization, settlers, and economic activities in each region. The difference in colonization led to distinct societies between New England and the Chesapeake regions. In 1607, after Sir Walter Raleigh s colony of Roanoke was unsuccessful, Jamestown was successfully colonized and was due to an economic purpose. As stated by John Smith, Dig gold, wash gold, refine gold, load gold (Doc 5). John Smith clearly shows how the colonists only cared about riches. They didn t care about establishing a colony as they were occupied and focused on the path to riches. More than half of us died (Doc 5). Due to this greed of riches and lack of control in the colony, many settlers as a consequence died. However, due to John Smith and his control over the colony, led Jamestown to not fail like the colony of Roanoke. This strategy can help the company to get customer acceptance at the initial period and then bring profits by increasing the price. Q4: As far as I am concerned, I would recommend skimming price and trial pricing strategy to Apple during its introduction stage of its product life cycle. When Apple moves into the growth or maturity stage of life cycle, I would recommend the penetration pricing strategy. In terms of a skimming price decision if Apple doesn t know much about the customer demand for its new product it would be useful. The reason is that it is safer to start with a high price, which can be reduced if customers initially refuse to purchase. Hesiod describes Zeus as being relentless in his fury. When he gets mad he unleashes all of his power. If his brother Hades wasn t in charge of the Underworld, he d make all of Hell break loose. For example, in Hesiod s Theogony, which is about when Zeus defeated his father, Cronus, he says, Then Zeus did not hold back any longer, but now immediately his heart was filled with strength and he showed clearly all his force. (Morford and Lenardon 85) He tends to treat others, mortals and immortals, very unfairly. Two mortals could do the same exact type of sacrilege towards him, and depending on how he felt that day, he would take two very different approaches to how he would treat them. He also doesn t take any threats towards him very lightly at all. If anyone ever threatens him, he normally punishes them very severely, if he doesn t destroy them completely. Hesiod s approach to Zeus behavior is overdramatic, and makes it seem more extreme than it probably would ve been. However, no matter what genre is specifically chosen, there will be other genres present that contradict the genre of choice. Davis goes into detail about what the mill is like. Fire in every horrible form: pits of flame waving in the wind: liquid metal flames writhing in tortuous streams through the sand; wide caldrons filled with boiling fire, over which bent ghastly wretches stirring the strange brewing; and through all, crowds of half clad man, looking like revengeful ghosts in the red light, hurried, throwing masses of glittering fire. It was like a street in Hell. (Davis 1225) It is important to remember that the novella shows realism, but it also has a case of romanticism that backs up the realism efforts. The romanticism is displayed through her descriptive view of the Mill, where most that live in the manufacturing town do not realize how strenuous and horrid the working conditions are like. Hugh and Deborah have an interesting relationship, because of their interesting relationship it exemplifies realism perfectly. Their relationship could be seen as a one sided deal, because of the way Deb feels for Hugh, she is willing to do whatever she can to make him happy, even if that means bringing him ... What steps can the nurse take to minimize the risks of a patient having one of these reactions? The contrast dye that is used during cardiac catheterization can lead to many reactions that ranges from mild to serious. The mild symptoms include diaphoresis, pruritus, dyspnea and tachycardia. The more serious reactions include ventricular tachycardia, bronchospasm, laryngeal edema, and seizures (Siddiqi, 2014). The nurse must make sure that the informed consent has been signed and documented in the patients chart before preparation of the procedure. However, an informed consent must be signed before performing a cardiac catheterization regardless of the amount of time that is allowed during an emergency. This helps to keep from overreacting over the small things in life. Another lesson comes from the short talk On Reading. This takes the reader back to their childhood. • 37. 12 Angry Men Film Analysis 12 Angry Men For many books, details are missed or changed when a movie is made. Though most of the time this can lead to problems, this is not the case with 12 Angry Men. 12 Angry Men is about 12 Jurors trying to decide whether a boy is guilty or innocent. Following the closing arguments in a murder trial, the boy seems undeniably guilty, and likewise, 11 of the jurors start with a vote of guilty. The only juror standing up for him is juror number 8, Henry Fonda, and the rest of the story follows how he uses his arguments and convinces the rest of the jurors to vote acquittal. Unlike many other book movie duos, in this case the director is able to not only retain all important details, he is able to improve on the book by removing unnecessary details, convey emotion realistically, and background noise. Firstly, the removal of unnecessary details helps improve the movie when the dialogue is removed during Juror #10 s rant, and when Juror #7 s anti immigrant personality is omitted from the movie. When Juror #10 starts talking about that type of people and how life don t mean as much to them, (Rose 64) in the book the other jurors try to tell him to stop, which conveys the wrong feeling because it shows they are listening to him. On the other hand, in the movie, they simply walk to a corner of the room and ignore him, which shows that they don t want to listen and will continue to ignore him, which actually showed how they felt better than when they tried to talk. ... The relationship between the two was a great example of the advantage that was taken of African Americans in the United States before the Civil Rights Movement. Being friends with someone opposite of your race was frowned upon. With that in mind, for a white woman and a black man to be in a relationship was completely unacceptable. There were exceptions for any interracial couples. The memoir by Lillian Smith, Killers of The Dream also discussed the sexual tension between blacks and whites. Lillian Smith explains in her memoir that in order to move forward in societal change, something needs to be done about the treatment of interracial marriage and how it is seen in the United States. In order for that change to occur, first we need to recognize the way African Americans are being treated in our society. There is a tremendous stigma of having sex before marriage in the deep south back in the 1940 s as well as today. Being that Smith was raised in a conservative town with values reflecting that notion, it would be extremely hard to get away with Rules against exploring ones body went as far as saying that certain parts were segregated saying that you cannot associate freely with them any more than you can associate freely with colored children (Smith 87). This is a quote said by Madeline Albright, an American politician and diplomat. What Madeleine Albright means is that when you strive, you are not only have a chance of success, but you are giving faith and other good qualities to your surroundings. This is a lesson that Santiago learns throughout his whole journey. In the novel, The Alchemist, by Paulo Coelho, Santiago learns, When we strive to become better, everything around us becomes better, too. First, Santiago arrives at a crystal shop and works there to earn back money he had lost. Next, while Santiago is walking, he a has a vision of a terrible war. Finally, Santiago strives to turn himself into the wind. First, when Santiago first arrives at the crystal shop, he spends one year working hard to earn back his lost money. For instance, as Santiago is finishing his first year at the shop, the crystal merchant gives his thanks to Santiago: I am proud of you he said. You brought me a new feeling to my crystal shop (63). As Santiago continuously works for one year, he is able to earn back his lost money as well as improve the merchant s shop, providing easier living for the merchant and the customers. Santiago provides the merchant with an on going line of customers and a great profit. To add on, the customers are able to feel the luxuries that are bought with the crystal glasses. But, most importantly, Santiago is able to learn some very important life lessons that help him throughout the rest of his journey. Ultimately, as Santiago strives to earn back his stolen money, he is not only improving his life, but he is a also improving the lives of the merchant and customers. Finally, the researchers could develop a model that was theoretically sound, produced satisfactory estimates and in which set of explanatory variables were linked to deterioration. (Prozzi et al., 2003) The condition of the pavement should be known to the authorities to make an accurate and informed decision about the maintenance program and subsequently about the budget that is required for the program. But knowing the condition of road for maintenance purpose is not straightforward as failure can occur any time, as it is a highly variable event. The modeling of event duration becomes difficult because of the variability in failure time. Truncation bias and censoring bias are associate with the failure events. In a survey if we include only failure events it will give rise to truncation bias and if failure events are censored model may suffer from censoring bias. The author uses probabilistic duration modeling techniques for analysis because these models can evaluate stochastic nature of payment failure and takes care of the censored data to be incorporated for modeling because in case the censored data is not accounted for modeling it will result in biased model parameters. The advantages of using probabilistic duration modeling techniques is that it is based on robust statistical principles and the failure times are predicted better. In short, the pavement ... Without any sense of characters, setting, or plot, the reader is thrown into the lives of others as they scramble to unearth the truth behind the scenes. Salinger provides complex stories of relatable characters; some are stories of happiness and others are of loss and dysfunction. Often times, the characters have difficulties dealing with the harsh realities of their lives and have to look towards alternate means of coping. Society fosters an overly structured environment with little room for atypical relationships, ideals, and behaviors. Anything that is outside of the normal is immediately written off and labeled as deviant behavior, something that is often frowned upon in this day and age. The characters in Nine Stories by J.D.
