Butterfly Effect On Monarchs
Monarchs have been in danger for the longest time because of all the global warming we cause. One
of the many effects of global warming is climate change. The change in the climate can affect the
Monarch Butterflies migration and the life cycle,so we have to limit the amount of littering and
pollution.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The Monarch Butterfly is the most known butterfly because of its colored wings that warns its
predators that it is poisonous. It is found throughout all of North America. The Monarch Butterfly can
t fly with a body temperature less than 86 degrees ,so they flap their wings and sit in the sun in order
to keep warm. The milkweed is the Monarch s main food source. The milkweed has many positive
effects on the Monarch Butterfly. For example, the butterfly lays the eggs on the plants ,and the
milkweed gives the poisonous taste to the predators when the caterpillar eats it. The Monarch lay their
eggs on the milkweed plant. They usually lay one egg on the plant which is the size of a pencil tip.
The yellow or white eggs start to hatch after four days. The female butterflies lay 300 500 eggs
through two to five weeks of the process of laying eggs. The next step in the life cycle is the larvae.
This is the stage where the monarchs do all of the growing. The caterpillar has many parts that help it
survive. Once the caterpillar gets older it starts to shed off its skin. The first part to shed off is the
head. The skin starts growing back into the caterpillar

Jan Brueghel s Extensive Landscape With Travellers On A...
St. Louis, Missouri is famous for the Gateway Arch and the Zoo; however, the Saint Louis Art
Museum (SLAM) is something that can t be overlooked. At a recent trip, I found a landscape painting
that shows the true meaning of human interaction. This panting is called Extensive Landscape With
Travellers on a Country Road and was painted by Jan Brueghel the Elder around 1608 to 1610. Some
background information about the infamous painter Jan Brueghel is that he was born in 1568 in
Brussels, Belgium. He was a painter of immense diversity. His art work includes biblical,
mythological, battle scenes, seascapes, still lifes, portraits, and numerous landscapes. Some of his
landscapes themes include: woodland hunts, mountain prospects, country roads ... Show more content

It shows the true beauty of a landscape painting with numerous formal elements and principles of
design. The painting is appealing to me because I have always been engaged outside working on our
farm, or hunting with my brother. Knowing the importance a road make for my family when we move
are goods to the local grain elevator. This panting is similar in that regard because it involves the
working class on a winding road. Their dependence on the road to move goods and obtain food from
place to place. Brueghel s painting still hold true today because people depend on roads for interaction
and movement of goods. When gazing at the painting, I can see myself stuck in time; performing the
different tasks alongside the road. When I first saw the painting compared to now, I would say that my
response to the panting has changed. At first glance you see a typical landscape; however, when
analyzing the painting you can find the true meaning of human interactions. As you can see, The
Extensive Landscape With Travellers on a Country Road by Jan Brueghel is a remarkable painting
with numerous elements and principles of design. I hope you enjoyed this painting as much as I have.
I would of never guessed that such a remarkable painting would be located so close to home at the St.

Ground water is the biggest source of drinking water available to human population around the

Films Dealing With The Vietnam War
Film, as an art form and furthermore, as a cultural product, is a proficient and effective producer of
cultural memory in society. It is a primarily a visual medium, and it is this facet that predicates its
innate ability to represent, alter and, therefore arguably subvert memory. Moreover, as Sturken states
...cinematic representations of the past have the capacity to entangle with personal and cultural
memory. 1 In the case of films dealing with the Vietnam War, this capacity proves central to the
creation of cultural memory regarding the event. The films diegesis, its represented reality, which is
constituted of sound and images, engages in a process of interaction with established historical
narratives and discourses, as well as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this complex process certain events and information will invariably be ignored (i.e. forgotten)
emphasising that the creation of memory relies both on constructive recollection and active forgetting.
It is these intricate and reciprocal relationships between accepted historical discourses, cultural
memory and cultural products that have informed my choice of films. Platoon (1986) and Born on the
Fourth of July (1989) possess many ostensible similarities as well as distinct differences. Furthermore,
and significantly, both films are based somewhat on personal memories, therefore providing valuable
if divergent insights into the processes behind the creation of cultural memory, the mediation of
historical discourses and the re shaping of personal experience. The director and writer of both films is
Oliver Stone (though he co wrote the screenplay to Born on the Fourth of July in collaboration with
Vietnam veteran Ron Kovic), an individual whose life has been profoundly affected by the Vietnam
War. Not dissimilar to the character of Chris Taylor, Stone dropped out of Yale University and
voluntarily enrolled for service. Stone s Vietnam films benefit from his personal experience and
memories of the event, providing a dimension of gravitas, an authenticity that is visceral and affecting.
These distinctive facets of his work contribute to the creation of cultural memory, as his films
effectively mediate personal and collective memory into the complex forum

Betrayal In Medea
In the tragedy, Medea by Euripides, there is an element of suffering when it comes to the betrayal of
her husband, Jason, leaving her for another woman. She faces many struggles internally that cause her
to lash out and, in my opinion, is irrational. Medea takes on a more masculine role as the play
progresses. Something that the viewers could take from the tragedy, is that it s not always right to act
on an impulse, whether it is out of hatred or passion. Medea acted in a way that I feel like could ve
been avoided, but she felt her being betrayed called for extreme actions. Medea s first struggle was
being exiled by Kreon, which was later resolved when Aegeus offered her a home with him. She
begged for Kreon to let her stay in order to find somewhere else because of her children and he
agreed. Her begging and using her ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We can learn from Medea s actions that she reacted in a way that shows she has lost her mind. As
stated earlier, her love turned hatred for Jason, clouded her personal morals. Killing her own kids,
even though it saddened her, was overshadowed by seeing Jason suffer. While Jason can be considered
the bad guy in the play, Medea can also be considered so. He left her and his children for his own
selfishness but Medea murdered a total of four people, including her own kids. They were both selfish
and even though it ended up mostly backfiring for him, Medea has to live with the fact that she
committed such crimes. Her hamartia would be letting the passion/love/hatred rule over her and
decided to kill Kreon, his daughter, and her children. She reacted on impulse instead of thinking about
her actions and what they meant for her future self. As human beings, we are taught right from wrong
very young, and having those morals are imperative to being a decent human being. We shouldn t
react on impulse because it can lead to making terrible

Three Types Of Cooperative Learning
2.9 Cooperative Learning Types There are three ways in which cooperative learning may be structured
in the university classroom (Johnson, Johnson, Smith, 2006). Instructors may use formal cooperative
learning, informal cooperative learning, or cooperative base groups.
2.9.1 Formal Cooperative learning
Formal cooperative learning triggers students to work together, for one class period to several weeks.
The aim is to achieve shared learning goals, and complete jointly specific tasks and assignments (such
as decision making or problem solving, completing a curriculum unit, writing a report, conducting a
survey or experiment, or reading a chapter or reference book, learning vocabulary, or answering
questions at the end of the chapter) (Johnson, Johnson, Smith, 2006). Instructors in this type of CL
specify the objectives for the lesson and decide on the size of groups and the way the classroom will
be arranged in, the method followed and the materials needed to conduct the lesson.
2.9.2 Informal Cooperative Learning ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It typically involves groups of two (e.g. turn to your partner discussions). These groups are often
temporary and can change from lesson to lesson. The Discussions in this type of CL have four
components that include formulating a response to questions asked by the instructor, sharing responses
to the questions asked with a partner, listening to a partner s responses to the same question, and
creating a new well developed answer. This type of learning enables the student to process,
consolidate, and retain more

The Interstate Highway System
In the early 1900s, the United States of America would see the introduction of a piece of technology
that would change the way we as a society would look at travel. Henry Ford began production of
Model T, the vehicle soon found its way into many American homes. By 1927, the Ford Motor
Company had sold nearly 15 million of the mass produced, affordable car. The automobile was no
longer a luxury but, a necessity for Americans. During the infancy of the automobile, the roads where
nothing more than a mere rutted up path through the country side. Though shortly, people realized the
need for better roads. The only problem was, who was going to pay the bill?
While serving overseas during World War II, Army General Dwight D Eisenhower had been stationed

the three cent per gallon fuel tax to 4.5 cents; the fuel tax has since 1993 remained at 18.4 cents per

sections of the Interstate Highways that were planned or constructed before 1956 still being operated
as toll roads. Interstates that have had their construction bonds paid off are able to operate toll free,
such as the Interstate 95 and Interstate 65. The Interstate system is overall an expensive system to

The Great Plains Essay
Have you ever been in a place of green with forests and animals everywhere? Well, where some of the
Native Americans lived, there were such things. Native American tribes such as the Crow lived in the
Great Plains. The Crow tribe of the Great Plains were nomadic and followed the buffalo migrations
which provided their food. This tribe spent a good part of the year living in camps that could easily be
dismantled and moved to follow the buffalo migrations. Other tribes of the plains were more
sedentary. These tribes lived in permanent villages year round. The Great Plains are located between
the South and Midwest regions to the east and the Rocky Mountains to the west. The Great Plains
Indians were dictated by climate, land, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most of the Native American Crow tribe members had died out because of low food supply or
fighting. But, most of the time the Native American tribes in the Grassy Plains did not have wars to
the death or extermination of a tribe. In the past time most tribes died but some survived and they
changed their way of life. For example, the Crow tribes may have set traps for animals rather than
sending out groups and risking village population. Some tribes may have become extinct because of
other villages raiding them and taking their land. Another reason for tribe extinction was disease after
the white invasion because the whites were exposed to and are immune to many diseases that the
Native Americans aren t. Therefore, many Native Americans have gotten sick and tribes have been
wiped out because of that.

Asabi al nuzūl is the term for occasions or reasons for the revelations and Succinctly put, it captures
the historical and contextual investigations that various verses and suras of the Quran provoked ().
Some of the verses may have been revealed by Muhammad in response to a question he was asked,
but for many of the verses there is no specific reason for their revelations. In Q109 some grammatical
peculiarities can be observed and are questioned. One profound objection is the objective pronoun
used in the third verse of Q 109, what I worship . Should not, the grammarians asked, the correct
expression be You do not worship whom I worship? After all, God is a who , not a what (). This
question is answered by Al Tūsi by saying the what in this phrase is referring to an Idol. The next
question regarding the repetition in the verses is answered simply as repetition is used as a rhetorical
device to provide emphasis on a statement. This article provides a strong secular disposition and does
answer many common fundamental questions in understanding the verses of the Qur an. It provides a
better understanding of the setting when these verses were written and why they were written in such a
way. Since Islam is one of the oldest religions, with plenty of interpretations, it faces opposition when
analyzed from a 21st century mind. A weakness I find in this article is that it doesn t provide a basis
for what Islam or the Qur an represent. It just analyzes the

The Importance Of Educational Psychology
Educational Psychology fosters an understanding for student development and helps teachers be
effective, design lessons and make a difference for their students. First we must define what education
psychology is, and how it applies student development and to the education community. The textbook,
Educational Psychology written by Anita Woolfolk, (2012), defines educational psychology as, A
distinct discipline with its own theories, research methods, problems, and techniques. Educational
psychologists do research on learning and teaching and, at the same time, work to improve educational
practice. (p. 12). Essentially, educational psychology is the study and research behind creative and
effective learning strategies and the principles for development and learning. It enables teachers to
reach and engage their students at the highest level of learning with effective learning strategies.
Learning educational psychology through the study of cognitive development and the influences on
children and adolescents as they grow, the implication of moral and identity development, as well as
obligations teachers have professionally to create safe learning environments that promote high
expectations and inclusion of all learners, helps teachers to nurture and understand their students. For
example, learning about student diversity and culture, characteristics, learning levels, how to design
and present content, enhance classroom management creating a safe effective learning

River In Siddhartha
The River as a Guide
Guides take many forms. They may manifest as a teacher, sage or an experienced individual. But this
need not be true a guide may also be an inanimate object as well, like the stars, or a book. In either
case, their purpose is the same: for them to help someone reach their goal. In Hermann Hesse s novel
Siddhartha, the river pushes the protagonist to find his path to enlightenment when he leaves
established teachings, joins Vasudeva, and accepts his son s abandonment.
Firstly, Siddhartha s encounters with the river after he speaks with Gotama encourage him to stop
seeing and interacting with the world as he has been taught to. For example, after Siddhartha s dream
about Govinda, the river provides assurance for him that he should pursue vice, and this is necessary
for him to reach enlightenment. [the dream] was intoxicating notes Siddhartha, and seemingly in

Siddhartha remarks, the old, tired, despairing Siddhartha was today drowned in it (81). In this scene,
the river is acting as a purifying agent and allowing him to continue his quest. Thus, the river
effectively saves him and puts him back on track for enlightenment by lifting his depression. In
another instance, Siddhartha observes the river and finds that it has much to teach him. He says he
cannot express how grateful he was to it (82), he subsequently decides that he wants to stay by the
river. The river beckons Siddhartha to learn from it, and his decision to settle down leads him to the
next stage of his journey. This next stage of pensive learning from the river teaches him to listen, and
is the final stage before he reaches

Clothing Used by the Norse Essay
During the Viking era, men worn woolen tunics over trouser type leg coverings. There were at least
two types of leg coverings: a wide, knee length, baggy type and a narrow, fitted full length type of
trouser. Several finds of trousers dating to the Migration Era at around 400 to 800 AD tell us that the
narrow full length types of trouser were worn by the Norse way back then. A site at Thorsbjerg Mose
in Denmark, trousers found more or less intact, had the sophisticated Migration Era that required three
separate pieces cut for the crotch gusset alone. These trouser finds alone disprove any claim that early
period garments worn by the Norse are simple and untailored. The leggings of the Migration Era

Most were made from wool and some were even dyed. The sleeves on the smocks tapered at the lower
arm, so at the wrists they fit fairly snugly and they could also be cut in more than one piece to achieve
a more complicated taper. Some of the smocks from the Birka, Sweden area had keyhole style
necklines rather than Danish rounded ones. The front and back panels were cut in one piece and weren
t sewn together with shoulder seams. On top of the tunics worn, the Norser wore an overtunic. An
overtunic at Evebø, Norway belonging to a jarl s was dyed blue, made of wool, and was decorated at
the neck with tablet woven wool bands patterned with animals in two colors. The overtunic also had
silver clasps, however it is unknown whether they were cuff clasps or clasps for front of the overtunic.
It is most probable that the clasps fastened in the front on the chest like a coat. However, the
overtunics were not coats, as actual coats were worn on the outer layer as weather demanded. There
were two basic coat layer types during the Viking Era used by the Norse. In the most basic terms,
there was the jacket and the coat. The jacket was lighter and wrapped around without a fastening
device, while the coat was heavier and buttoned. Viking era jackets have been found in several spots
in the Norse dominated world and appear to have been a very old tradition. A helmet found at the
Sutton Hoo ship burial site had human figures

Comparing Anatomical Theory And Germ Theory
Over time, many practices contributed to the success and promotion of modern day medicine today.
The three early theoretical treatments consisted of the Humoral theory, anatomical theory, and the
germ theory. Today, each provided insight into knowledge of medicine. We will review each theory
and compare how different each are from one another and their historical significance today to health
and wellness.
Of the first, Hippocrates developed Humoral theory in 460 to 370 B.C. The treatment was based on
how the body handled the fluids within itself. Reviewing a patient s blood, urine, or other fluids were
vital to the success of the treatment. In addition, the treatment consisted of information relayed from
the patient to the practitioner to come to a diagnosis. The doctors of this period kept detailed records
containing historical data of the stages of the illness. Four key elements were of the writings to find a
treatment and potentially cure the patient. Black bile, red or yellow bile, blood, and phlegm. The
humor believed all four had to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

somewhat similar. The view of the internal organs are vital however, germ theology provides more
detailed analysis of the microscopic tissue and organs involved. Anatomical theory and humor are far
from relation. The discovery of anatomical theories allowed for the evolution of medicine rather than
suppressing it discoveries to four theories. The anatomy is vast and complex in its workings. The three

Reflection About Judaism
Life is a profound experience. Through our short period of existence, we experience life in our own
way. For many, life is a constant search for answers; how did we get here? Is there a G*d? What
happens when we die? These timeless questions remain unanswered, and religion attempts to answer
the phenomena of life and death. Some blindly subscribe to religion; some balance religious teachings
with modern science and their own reasoning, and others believe life is a binary state that eventually
halts. From my circumcision, at eight days old, until eighteen, I considered myself a Jew. Though I
still identify as a Jew, I developed my own, somewhat different, philosophy of life, focused on what
the world means to me.
Judaism in my family traces back hundreds of years. Both my maternal grandparents were primarily
Ashkenazi Jews with some Sephardi lineage. Like many families, however, our steadfast devotion has
faded through the years. My mother, raised as an Orthodox Jew, did not follow kashrut or observe the
Sabbath in our home. I attended a Reform, or Progressive, synagogue for most of my pre adolescent
life. Many Reform Jews do not strictly observe the laws of the Friday Sabbath, which include
traveling only by foot and being separated from electricity and electronics. As a result, I did not keep
or even observe the Sabbath. I attended Sunday School and Hebrew school until my confirmation,
which is a ceremony exclusive to Reform Judaism, at age fifteen. Connecting with my

Power In The House Of The Scorpion
Power corrupts other aspects of human life as well, as outlined in The House of the Scorpion. One
could state that the power associated with the will of the people corrupted Aztlan in a way. The boys
of the plankton factory had little power, and if they obeyed the Keepers demands, they would gain
power for themselves. Therefore, the boys gave up freedom and opinions in order to please the
Keepers, so that they could become more powerful. Once such example of this is Ton Ton. The story
states, Ton Ton had shown himself eager to obey. He humbled himself whenever the Keepers asked
(Farmer 301). Chacho describes Ton Ton as extremely eager to please the Keepers and as one who

In On the Doctrine of the Feeling of Power, Nietzsche states, We benefit and show benevolence
toward those who already depend on us in some way (that is, who are used to thinking of us as their

have been kind to Fidelito and Chacho because subconsciously, he felt that both Fidelito and Chacho
depended on him, and indeed Matt seemed to be the sort of alpha male in that friendship. In addition,
Matt may have been kind to the boys in order to increase their power, or self confidence in this
instance. If he made them feel better, then they would raise his morale. In addition, if he was able to

What Is the Role of Fashion Promotion Within the Fashion...
What is the Role of Fashion Promotion Within the Fashion Industry, and how will it develop in the
next five years?
I am going to write about what the role of fashion promotion is within the fashion industry and discuss
how it might develop in the next five years. To do this I shall review what fashion promotion is by
defining it and finding out how, when and where it started. To understand what fashion promotion
really is in a contemporary context I shall broadly look at how it is used and what many forms it has
taken since the beginning up until the present day.

Photography can tell us a story of periods in history; fashion photography constitutes a historical
document that offers us evidence of the practices and ideals of a given period (H.Radner (2000) in
S.Bruzzi P.Church Gibson Fashion Cultures: Theories, Explorations Analysis, London: Routledge, pp.
128 134). In the 1940 s photos were very staged, prim and proper and the models were the children of
the rich of that time, by the 50 s there were some social changes such as more disposable wealth, to
which the fashion industry responded by having studio lit photographs and beginning to move away
from static, manikin style shots. By the 60 s subject and style went under transformation as a result of
changes during the post Second World War era and the revolution of the ‘single girl began. Fashion
photography started to be shot outside with the model often walking or running to show that she is
‘active .
(Ruth Orkin, American Girl in Italy, 1951)
Fashion isn t fixed: it follows a repetitive cycle, which is moving so fast that cyclical ideas are being
used up too quickly. In response, brand new ideas and concepts are being invented. The growth in
virtual space means knowledge spreads faster, ideas are downloaded and lower designers take them
before higher designers who came up with the designs get it into their own store, which is one reason
why fashion is becoming cheaper. Boundaries between higher and lower level brands are becoming

Maternity Insurance Coverage
One of the most important things that you shall know if you are pregnant is whether or not you have
maternity insurance coverage. These days, it is very expensive to give birth. You have to think of the
doctor s fees, hospital bills, medications, and so on. After giving birth, the expenses do not stop there.
You still have to think about the baby s expense as he or she is growing up. This is why it is important
to think of ways to minimize your pregnancy expenses as much as possible.
Maternity coverage is not an insurance policy on its own. It is usually covered as a rider benefit in
your health insurance. When choosing health insurance, be sure to choose something that has
maternity coverage. To know more about pregnancy coverage, you need ... Show more content on

It could include prenatal care or outpatient monthly checkups with your doctor. It could also include
hospital bills, doctor s fee, and medications. Some women who gave birth and have good insurance
policies do not have to pay anything. It is important to choose the right kind of insurance policy that
gives you more coverage at the most affordable price.
3) Considerations
When choosing health insurance, you have to choose something that has maternity insurance. If you
already have health insurance without pregnancy coverage, you can talk with your insurance provider
and ask them what you can do about it. They can add maternity coverage to your insurance or you can
shift to a different plan with maternity coverage. You have to apply for pregnancy insurance when you
are still in the process of getting pregnant. It may be more difficult to get approval for your application
if you are applying when you are already pregnant.
Another consideration is to find affordable health insurance policies that require you to pay reasonable
premiums but with good coverage. If you are employed in a good company, you do not have to worry
about getting yourself health insurance with pregnancy coverage because the company is required to
do this for their employees, but if you are self employed, you need to take care of these things

How To Write A Sam Yang Essay
Overview
Hunting big game is a thrilling sport. It requires a lot of skill, guts, and of course, the right gun. For
this challenge you need an extremely high powered, big bore air rifle to do the job in a successful and
humane manner. You need an air rifle that can fire heavy pellets with enough velocity to take down
big game like wolves, deer, mountain lions, or wild boars. However, most big bore air rifles today
require you to be extremely close to the animal so you don t have much room to miss, making it more
difficult to hunt. This also causes the animal to feel a lot of unnecessary pain. This is why it is
extremely important to use an air gun that has enough power and big enough caliber to bring down big
game in one single shot.
The Sam Yang Big Bore 909S is a PCP air rifle that has the authoritative knock down power that you
need to successfully hunt large animals at a range of approximately 35 yards. Sam Yang is a Korean

Symbolism In Jacob Carol
Marley was dead, to begin with there s no doubt whatever about that... Old Marley was as dead as a
door nail. (Stave 1, Pg. 9) A Christmas Carol s character Jacob Marley plays an important role in the
main character, Ebenezer Scrooge s growth. In the novel, Mr. Marley, when he appears as a spirit to
inform Scrooge that the christmas spirits would be visiting him, he appears in chains along with cash
boxes, deeds, keys, padlocks, and ledgers. It is said in the book that he chose to wear the chain as well
as the other objects voluntarily. However, the reason for Marley s doing so in his afterlife was never
revealed. I believe that the symbolic meaning behind Marley s locks and chains have to do with his
wealth, him being tied to his job, and his greed during his lifetime. I feel that this symbolism also
played a large part in Scrooge s growth throughout the novel because it further drilled the idea into his
head that if he doesn t change his attitude toward life he d end up chained down just as Marley is. It
seems as if he chooses to wear the chain freely, but he is never truly free of his own sin and regret. The
chains and objects symbolize his wealth because when he was alive, Marley worked in a counting
house. In modern terms a counting house would be like a loan office, but increased interest was
charged to loan clients money. He and Scrooge seemed like similar people, and if this was the case, he
may have gained wealth in life just as Scrooge did; by working

Raymond Carver s A Small Good Thing
Raymond Carver s A Small Good Thing
Raymond Carver s A Small Good Thing, a short story that has to do with the lack of interaction and
empathy between the baker, Ann and Howard, the finale where the baker is startled to find out about
the child s death, asks for mercy and presents them warm cinnamon rolls telling them that Eating is a
small, good thing in a time like this and they are comforted, reveals particular significance of the title
in terms of the story s theme. Also, Raymond Carver s Cathedral, a story that starts with an ignorant
and rude narrator whose wife has called a blind friend to spend the night at their home and according
to Carver, A blind man in my house was not something I looked forward to, (38) has some ... Show

After the baker takes all the rage thrown on him by Ann, he in return begs for forgiveness and gives
the parents what they were lacking, that is food. The baker does all this even though he is alone and
virtually makes contact with anybody.
In Raymond s Cathedral, certain similarities can be drawn from the thematic content that is revealed in
both stories. In Cathedral, the theme is expansive, but the ones that are similar in both stories are
communication, and empathy.
The communication theme in this story is much more serious than the one in A Small Good Thing, the
reason being that the narrator has less or no communication whatsoever with his wife. This is vividly
shown in the story where the narrator says When the time rolled around, my wife went to the depot to
pick him up. With nothing to do but wait, I was having a drink and watching TV. (41) This deficiency
of intimacy, intercourse led the narrator to be ignorant but very thoughtful. However the narrator s
thoughtfulness did not lead him to understand that his lack of tolerance was much more serious than
he knew it was.
In A Small Good Thing, as mentioned earlier, after Howard returns home, the baker keeps on calling
him and telling him about the cake, but Howard tells him I don t know anything about a cake, Jesus
what are you talking about? Ann never tells Howard about the cake she ordered before Scott s
accident. Here the lack of communication theme is less serious

Legalization Of Marijuana And The State Of Arizona
Legalization of Marijuana in Arizona The Legalization of Marijuana in the state of Arizona has been
under fire for the past several years. Ever since 2010 when Prop 203, which called the right to have a
medical marijuana card in the state, arose it caused a stir in society on which to allow marijuana to be
legal. The ballot for the state is set in November and as we approach the deadline many people are
coming out with their takes on the issue. The legalization of marijuana has many positive and negative
effects on society that make it a tough decision for many voters. Marijuana has been a commonly used
medication for thousands of years, the oldest written record of the use of marijuana is 2727 B.C.E. in
china, up until 2003 when marijuana was classified as a Schedule 1 controlled substance by the
Controlled Substance Act which prohibited use and sale of the substance. This act caused major
controversy and sparked many scientific experiments that are still going on today to try to understand
the drug. The legalization of marijuana in other states has increased access to and acceptability of this
drug for both medicinal and recreational purposes. In the absence of well designed research and FDA
approval, this creates unique challenges for both practitioners and regulators alike. Doctors are being
pressured to recommend medical marijuana based off of the requests of the users. The regulations that
have been put on marijuana are extremely loose fitting and hard to control

The Importance Of Informed Consent
What is informed consent and when, why and how must the physician obtained this consent? From the
Medicine Net they defined Informed Consent as The process by which a patient learns about the
procedure, understands the purpose, benefits, and potential risks of a medical or surgical intervention,
including clinical trails, and then agrees to receive the treatment or participate in the trial. Informed
consent generally requires the patient or responsible party to sign a statement confirming that they
understand the risks and benefits of the procedure or treatment.
Informed consent needs to be obtained by the physician when a procedure with anesthesia is used, if
the patient is undergoing any type of surgery, a procedure that is entering the body through the skin or
through a body cavity, or if the patient is asked to be in a clinical research trial. This type of consent is
necessary so the patient and the physician are both on the same page of the patient s understanding
and willingness to participate in the procedure. It is also for the patient to know their right to stop the
procedure before or during the procedure. It also informs the patient that if they do not want the
procedure they have alternatives they can choose from.
The American Medical Association describes the 8 steps on how to obtain Informed consent, as: The
Physician informs participants about (1) the purpose of the procedure, expected duration and
procedures; (2) their right to decline to participate and

Customer Personality And The Product Selection Process Essay
Market segmentation is a marketing tool that divides a large heterogeneous market into smaller
homogeneous subsets of consumers with similar needs, wants and characteristics. Researchers might
be able to predict customer s behavior by studying if there are any relations between customer s
personality and the product selection process. A key success for any business is to communicate with
its customers better than competitors by understanding who its customers are and what they want. The
more precisely costumers are segmented, the easier a business will understand its customers and build
successful relationship with them because customers usually choose a product that expresses their
personality. The market can be segmented by different types of segmentations such as demographic,
geographic and psychographic. Marks Spencer uses demographic segmentation to target customers
above the age of 30 with high income and executive occupation. It also segments the market through
value, as many products in M S s clothing range have a premium priced segment, a mid priced
segment and a lower price segment. Brand personality is a set of features and human characteristics
that is associated with the brand. As one of the most important promotion tools, it will attract the
target audience s attention. A brand personality that is well defined will lead to customer trust,
emotional attachment and loyalty. Better communications between a customer and product is one of

Analysis Of Centennial Park Pond System
1. Introduction and objectives
Centennial Park has the largest freshwater wetland system in inner metropolitan area of Sydney. Its
ponds cover approximately 26 ha of area connected in a water flow system that acts as detention basin
for stormwater drainage during flood events (Centennial Parklands, ponds, 2016). Moreover, these
ponds provided the water as the Sydney s main source of drinking water from 1837. The park provides
an open area for families and kids to enjoy picnics and therefore the pond is required to maintain its
water quality and sustainable for the environment.
The report reviews the Centennial Park pond system; it acts as a performance around the outskirts of
the flood retention basin, and the report also reviews regarding full flood conservation and water
quality norm to find a potential problem in the system and is coming up with improvements.
2. Background
Flooding History: Historical records show that there were several flooding within the catchment
November 1984, January1991. For instance, driver Avenue was road flooded (Michael Wyk , 2016).
Water Pollution: From previous engineering reports, from early mid1990s, it was estimated that blue
green algal blooms occurred in most of the ponds in the Centennial Park over several years (Mal
Brown, 2012).Due to the accumulation of the nutrients in the Musgrave Pond from the storm water
inflow, the nutrient enriched the water in the pond (Mal Brown, 2012).

communities leads to drawbacks in the development of the user s personality. More energy is
dedicated to the virtual life than to real life and people lose track of their personalities while busy
building online ones. Also, frequent users of online communities have difficulties beginning

Since many people work abroad, in globalized companies and the chances of being able to stay in the
same job for more than five years are low, society is constantly on the move and grows internationally
and everybody has friends who live everywhere in the world and they don t see as much as they used
to. Since the establishment of online communities, however, these people possess a tool that makes it
easier to stay in touch with old friends and to get to know new ones as well as establish business
relations with people from all over the world within seconds. In conclusion, online communities are
useful for people with special needs and internationally driven lives. On the other hand, online
communities like Second Life limit peoples abilities of developing their own personalities. By
projecting their lives onto avatars, it is hard to differentiate between the real world and the virtual
world. Success and failure as well as capabilities and skills that are experienced online are oftentimes
lacking in real life, although this is hardly noticed. (Scribner, 2007). It is so much easier to be
everyone you want to be in the online world: The shy guy turns into a womanizer and the unemployed

The Roller Coaster Of Roller Coasters
Since humans were created, we have always searched for some kind of thrill and excitement. Once
man was tired of playing with something as dangerous as fire, he decided to move on to more
dangerous things, thus, the roller coaster was born. From sliding down rocky mountains, to the huge
steel coasters we have today. Roller coasters have evolved, and will continue to evolve alongside
humans. The way roller coasters are made, the safety of the roller coasters and the popularity of them
are just a few things that make up the history of these magnificent gifts to man. Coaster history has its
ups, downs and loop di loops, all that bring us to where we are today.
Roller coasters originally were very different from the ones in amusement parks ... Show more content

The ride was constructed by LaMarcus A. Thompson and was the first Gravity Switchback Railway.
This particular coaster attracted many people and brought tons of business to Coney Island. (Benson
2012. AceOnline.org). From here the roller coaster business only went up. By the 1920 s, roller
coasters were extremely popular. Nearly 2,000 coasters were built! Sadly, there are not many, if any of
these coasters still standing. According to the most recent census there are close to 750 coasters in the
United States alone! There are around 4,500 total in the whole world (Johnson 2016.rcdb.com). The
growth of roller coasters continue to expand as more resources become available and inventors
become more creative.
Back in the 1990s, roller coasters were primarily made out of wood with small bits of steel and metals.
Wood was much cheaper and easier to use.(Schaefer 2004 Roller Coasters). This put a limit on how
coasters could be designed so the majority of them around the united states were extremely similar.
The safety of rider s was not much of a concern back in those days. There were many deaths back in
the 1900 s simply because most of the coasters had faulty designs, safety, or were improperly built.
(McGill 2001. Ultimaterollercoasters.com), The amount of deaths that were caused because of the
negligence is exactly why roller coasters had to change to fit the times and safety resources.
Today, the safety

  • 2. Butterfly Effect On Monarchs Monarchs have been in danger for the longest time because of all the global warming we cause. One of the many effects of global warming is climate change. The change in the climate can affect the Monarch Butterflies migration and the life cycle,so we have to limit the amount of littering and pollution. BACKGROUND INFORMATION The Monarch Butterfly is the most known butterfly because of its colored wings that warns its predators that it is poisonous. It is found throughout all of North America. The Monarch Butterfly can t fly with a body temperature less than 86 degrees ,so they flap their wings and sit in the sun in order to keep warm. The milkweed is the Monarch s main food source. The milkweed has many positive effects on the Monarch Butterfly. For example, the butterfly lays the eggs on the plants ,and the milkweed gives the poisonous taste to the predators when the caterpillar eats it. The Monarch lay their eggs on the milkweed plant. They usually lay one egg on the plant which is the size of a pencil tip. The yellow or white eggs start to hatch after four days. The female butterflies lay 300 500 eggs through two to five weeks of the process of laying eggs. The next step in the life cycle is the larvae. This is the stage where the monarchs do all of the growing. The caterpillar has many parts that help it survive. Once the caterpillar gets older it starts to shed off its skin. The first part to shed off is the head. The skin starts growing back into the caterpillar ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Jan Brueghel s Extensive Landscape With Travellers On A... St. Louis, Missouri is famous for the Gateway Arch and the Zoo; however, the Saint Louis Art Museum (SLAM) is something that can t be overlooked. At a recent trip, I found a landscape painting that shows the true meaning of human interaction. This panting is called Extensive Landscape With Travellers on a Country Road and was painted by Jan Brueghel the Elder around 1608 to 1610. Some background information about the infamous painter Jan Brueghel is that he was born in 1568 in Brussels, Belgium. He was a painter of immense diversity. His art work includes biblical, mythological, battle scenes, seascapes, still lifes, portraits, and numerous landscapes. Some of his landscapes themes include: woodland hunts, mountain prospects, country roads ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It shows the true beauty of a landscape painting with numerous formal elements and principles of design. The painting is appealing to me because I have always been engaged outside working on our farm, or hunting with my brother. Knowing the importance a road make for my family when we move are goods to the local grain elevator. This panting is similar in that regard because it involves the working class on a winding road. Their dependence on the road to move goods and obtain food from place to place. Brueghel s painting still hold true today because people depend on roads for interaction and movement of goods. When gazing at the painting, I can see myself stuck in time; performing the different tasks alongside the road. When I first saw the painting compared to now, I would say that my response to the panting has changed. At first glance you see a typical landscape; however, when analyzing the painting you can find the true meaning of human interactions. As you can see, The Extensive Landscape With Travellers on a Country Road by Jan Brueghel is a remarkable painting with numerous elements and principles of design. I hope you enjoyed this painting as much as I have. I would of never guessed that such a remarkable painting would be located so close to home at the St. Louis Art ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

She faces many struggles internally that cause her to lash out and, in my opinion, is irrational. Medea takes on a more masculine role as the play progresses. Something that the viewers could take from the tragedy, is that it s not always right to act on an impulse, whether it is out of hatred or passion. Medea acted in a way that I feel like could ve been avoided, but she felt her being betrayed called for extreme actions. Medea s first struggle was being exiled by Kreon, which was later resolved when Aegeus offered her a home with him. We can learn from Medea s actions that she reacted in a way that shows she has lost her mind. As stated earlier, her love turned hatred for Jason, clouded her personal morals. He left her and his children for his own selfishness but Medea murdered a total of four people, including her own kids. They were both selfish and even though it ended up mostly backfiring for him, Medea has to live with the fact that she committed such crimes. For example, the Crow tribes may have set traps for animals rather than sending out groups and risking village population. Some tribes may have become extinct because of other villages raiding them and taking their land. Another reason for tribe extinction was disease after the white invasion because the whites were exposed to and are immune to many diseases that the Native Americans aren t. The Importance Of Educational Psychology Educational Psychology fosters an understanding for student development and helps teachers be effective, design lessons and make a difference for their students. First we must define what education psychology is, and how it applies student development and to the education community. The textbook, Educational Psychology written by Anita Woolfolk, (2012), defines educational psychology as, A distinct discipline with its own theories, research methods, problems, and techniques. Educational psychologists do research on learning and teaching and, at the same time, work to improve educational practice. (p. 12). In the 1940 s photos were very staged, prim and proper and the models were the children of the rich of that time, by the 50 s there were some social changes such as more disposable wealth, to which the fashion industry responded by having studio lit photographs and beginning to move away from static, manikin style shots. By the 60 s subject and style went under transformation as a result of changes during the post Second World War era and the revolution of the ‘single girl began. Fashion photography started to be shot outside with the model often walking or running to show that she is ‘active . (Ruth Orkin, American Girl in Italy, 1951) Fashion isn t fixed: it follows a repetitive cycle, which is moving so fast that cyclical ideas are being used up too quickly. In response, brand new ideas and concepts are being invented. The growth in virtual space means knowledge spreads faster, ideas are downloaded and lower designers take them before higher designers who came up with the designs get it into their own store, which is one reason why fashion is becoming cheaper. • 29. Symbolism In Jacob Carol Marley was dead, to begin with there s no doubt whatever about that... Old Marley was as dead as a door nail. (Stave 1, Pg. 9) A Christmas Carol s character Jacob Marley plays an important role in the main character, Ebenezer Scrooge s growth. In the novel, Mr. Marley, when he appears as a spirit to inform Scrooge that the christmas spirits would be visiting him, he appears in chains along with cash boxes, deeds, keys, padlocks, and ledgers. It is said in the book that he chose to wear the chain as well as the other objects voluntarily. However, the reason for Marley s doing so in his afterlife was never revealed. I believe that the symbolic meaning behind Marley s locks and chains have to do with his wealth, him being tied to his job, and his greed during his lifetime. I feel that this symbolism also played a large part in Scrooge s growth throughout the novel because it further drilled the idea into his head that if he doesn t change his attitude toward life he d end up chained down just as Marley is. It seems as if he chooses to wear the chain freely, but he is never truly free of his own sin and regret. The chains and objects symbolize his wealth because when he was alive, Marley worked in a counting house. In modern terms a counting house would be like a loan office, but increased interest was charged to loan clients money. He and Scrooge seemed like similar people, and if this was the case, he may have gained wealth in life just as Scrooge did; by working ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In Raymond s Cathedral, certain similarities can be drawn from the thematic content that is revealed in both stories. In Cathedral, the theme is expansive, but the ones that are similar in both stories are communication, and empathy. The communication theme in this story is much more serious than the one in A Small Good Thing, the reason being that the narrator has less or no communication whatsoever with his wife. This is vividly shown in the story where the narrator says When the time rolled around, my wife went to the depot to pick him up. With nothing to do but wait, I was having a drink and watching TV. (41) This deficiency of intimacy, intercourse led the narrator to be ignorant but very thoughtful. However the narrator s thoughtfulness did not lead him to understand that his lack of tolerance was much more serious than he knew it was. From the Medicine Net they defined Informed Consent as The process by which a patient learns about the procedure, understands the purpose, benefits, and potential risks of a medical or surgical intervention, including clinical trails, and then agrees to receive the treatment or participate in the trial. Customer Personality And The Product Selection Process Essay Market segmentation is a marketing tool that divides a large heterogeneous market into smaller homogeneous subsets of consumers with similar needs, wants and characteristics. Researchers might be able to predict customer s behavior by studying if there are any relations between customer s personality and the product selection process. A key success for any business is to communicate with its customers better than competitors by understanding who its customers are and what they want. The more precisely costumers are segmented, the easier a business will understand its customers and build successful relationship with them because customers usually choose a product that expresses their personality.
