Fracking Of The United States
Alexi Taylor Monday, December 1, 2014 Dr. Gray Final Paper Fracking in the United States
Hydraulic fracking in the United States is a current environmental hazard that has to be addressed by
the American people and by the federal government. Fracking in America has opened up millions of
acres of lands that were once not economically viable to produce oil and gas. While the Bureau of land
Management has paved the way for hydraulic fracturing on public lands, there is a need for retaliation.
Fracking is a dirty method of extracting gases and oils at the price of numerous environmental, safety,
and health hazards. The environment is not a means of income when rather it is the capital for future
generations. Currently fracking is being disputed at state and federal levels. Farmers around the
country have been affected by this issue where fracking companies disturb the surrounding
environment to a point that nearby neighbors are affected so much where their drinking water
becomes contaminated and undrinkable. Who becomes responsible to support these everyday farmers
to contend against these well off oil fracking companies? In some cases these farmers don t have the
resources to win the legal disputes against these large fracking barons. Small family farms are
disappearing at a fast rate, and one more variable thrown in will make these small family farm
disappear that much faster. Even if the victims were to triumph in one court case what happens after

Ugetsu Dualism
Ugetsu is one of the most critically acclaimed and culturally significant films to come out of the
Japanese Golden Age of Cinema. Directed by Kenji Mizoguchi, who stood with Ozu and Kurosawa as
what are widely regarded by film critics and scholars to be the three greatest filmmakers and masters
of their craft that rose to prominence during the Nipponese age of cinema in Japan. Ugetsu is a
stunningly multifaceted story that begins as the tale of two families trying to achieve the realization of
their ambitions through different means and turns into a cautionary, almost mythological, fable that
shows the consequences of the main characters single minded determination to bring their dreams to
fruition. The elements of mythos and mysticism come ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He also uses these crafted dualities to transfer the mythological and fable like qualities of the written
stories he is interpreting to cinematic experience that is accessible while not seeming radically
unimaginable. Mizoguchi also uses elements of foreshadowing to ease the audience into the transition
from realistic tale of woe into the realm of mystical caution that he weaves in Ugetsu.
Summary At its core, Ugetsu is a story of two brothers who each fall victim to a separate incarnation
of capital vice and the consequences that befall not only themselves because of their actions, but also
the consequences their actions bring down upon their loved ones. The film follows two related
families comprised of Genjuro, his wife Miyagi (Tanaka Kinuyo), and their son Genichi (Ikio
Sawamura) who live alongside their neighbors Tobei and his wife Ohama (Mitsuko Mito) during the
Japanese Sengoku era between 1467 and 1573 while the country is embroiled in a massive civil war.

Chesapeake Colonies Benefits
The Chesapeake colonies were drawn to America to gain wealth from silver and gold, but they quickly
realized that they were not as abundant as the Spanish had found in Mexico. The group was made up
of a small group of farmers, laborers, craftsmen, and gentry. Slowly coming to realize that they needed
to grow their own food and find a profitable resource, policies were set in place, which changed
Virginia to a more progressive society. At first the relationship with the natives were peaceful, and
most was fair. But tensions grew between the two led to the destruction of Indians villages and crops.
Tobacco was the new gold increasing use from the Europeans caused a demand, more than 200,000
pounds was grown by 1624 yielding large profits for

A Lesson Plan For A Teacher
Every teacher is responsible for planning what will be taught to their students every week. Each day
the students will have certain activities and work that all comes together under the same category. This
is what is called lesson plans, and they are a very important part of keeping the class together and also
help the teacher stay organized. There are many different ways in which one can set up their lesson
plans, but it is very important to have them done the correct way rather than the wrong way to get the
full benefit from them. I was able to find two different lesson plans that represent the correct way and
also the wrong way. The correct one I was able to find on reading.org and the other one I found on
esltreasures.com. Each one was created for the beneficial knowledge of the student, however they are
very different and only one will help them obtain that knowledge. The first lesson plan that I found on
esltreasures.com was a very simple lesson plan, which appears to be more of an agenda with different
times with each activity. The lesson is supposed to be directed for a class of junior beginners and is
meant to cover a grammar lesson along with spelling and vocabulary. However everything is done in
unrealistic time frames. All the activities are between 5 to 20 minutes each. Since the subject being
taught is grammar and vocabulary, there is an assignment for a spelling game, but it is only for 10
minutes. There is also a grammar point explanation that is only 2 3

Perseverance In Beowulf
Courage doesn t always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says I ll
try again tomorrow. Mary Anne Radmacher. Beowulf is a epic poem that shares the journey of an epic
hero named Beowulf who shows us he has plenty of courage and selflessness throughout the story.
Beowulf portrays his perseverance when we are introduced to a monster that goes by the name of
Grendel. He defeats the monster and proves that he is capable of being a hero that the people need.
Beowulf is a virtuous man and virtue was very important in Anglo Saxon culture. He shows four traits
through the course of the poem which can be seen as Loyalty, Strength, Bravery, and Friendship.
Beowulf constantly portrays these four traits as we read more of the poem, and it shows why he is a
hero that his people relied on. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He had in the past battled many monsters before but none as terrifying and gruesome as Grendel.
Grendel is a monster that lives in the slimy, dark moors near King Hrothgar s castle. He is agitated by
the constant loud music that is played in Hrothgar s hall. Beowulf travels to the land where Hrothgar
rules, to slay Grendel and stop the murder sprees that wipes out Hrothgar s men. This is where you
will see although very confident in himself, Beowulf portrays loyalty to his family. I bought the end of
Edgetho s barrel, sent ancient treasures through the ocean s burrows to the wulfings; your father swore
he d keep that peace. This shows that Beowulf is loyal to his family by paying back his father s debt to
Hrothgar by defeating

Competition, Stability, And Civil Society
Competition, Stability, and Civil Society Nepal is a very diverse country, within its borders there are
127 spoken languages, 125 ethnic groups, three ecosystems, numerous social castes, and when dealing
with politics, over 120 political parties. While Nepal does host a plethora of political parties, there are
three that stand out as the most noteworthy. These are the Maoists, Marxist Leninist party, and the
Nepali Congress party (Harris, 2013a). The Maoists are the political party that fought against, and
won, against the Hindu monarchy during the civil war that lasted a decade; this civil war ended in
2006 with the defeat of the Hindu monarchy (Harris, 2013b). The Maoists appear to be the most active
group when it comes to civil disobedience. During the elections, they were responsible for bombings,
force road closures, and even abductions in an effort to prevent the citizens of Nepal from voting
(Harris, 2013a). In spite of these acts of disobedience, the Maoist party was still able to secure a
minority in the CA (Harris, 2013b). Then there is the Marxist Leninist part whose doctrine follows
that of the leaders of Russia Marx and Lenin. In their charter, they aim to unite the lower class citizens
and those of unfavorable castes and give them a political voice which has, up until recently, been
overlooked (Communist Party, 2011). Finally, there is the Nepali Congress party, who are the most
central of the prominent political parties. The Nepali Congress was also

Anorexia in Teens
There are many kinds of psychosocial disorders that deal with deferent things. Some psychosocial
disorders are genetic and some people just pick up from everyday life. Teens can pick up disorders
from high school and form our popular media. The media plays a huge roll on what teens do to their
life. The media tells teens what they should eat, what size teens should be, and what is okay to wear.
Media is mostly worried about what people, mostly celebrities, look like. Teens see a tiny model;
teens see that as being attractive. The teen that saw the tiny model attractive would start to starve them

The women also talked about society playing major roll on what they did to them self s, as young

discomfort, or physical symptoms that arise when a situation. Cultural stressor or stressors stimuli can
be rang from many events from a job loss to combat (Lilienfeld, Lynn and Namy 457). In the
interviews with the women they explained what kinds of stressors affect them like rape at 13 years of
age or no friends in school (Nilsson, Abrahamsson and Torbiornsson).
After the interviews they did a few follow ups with the ladies who went thought the interview process,
to see if anything had changed with their lives. One of the interviewees named Cilia said I thought I
was fat, I didn t think muscles were nice. I thought I would lose a bit of weight, and then thought I
would lose a few more kilos. Once I lost that weight, I just kept losing more. She was made fun of
during her time at school because she was a heavy. After talking with the researchers she changed and
she is getting better now (Nilsson, Abrahamsson and Torbiornsson) the most common place for social
stressors is in high school.

Online Gambling Enforcement Act Of 2006
Back in 1996, the explosion of online casino gambling swept the world. The United States had been a
large part of this, and many gamblers had turned to online casinos for all of their gaming. For many
years, these casinos continued to be played unabated. Unfortunately, back in 2006, legislation was
passed that made it slightly difficult for online casinos to continue to operate. This legislation, sneaked
in by piggyback through the Safe Port Act, would be named the Unlawful Internet Gambling
Enforcement Act, and it became a thorn in the side of the online gambler, the online casino, and all
payment processors there in.
The Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006, or the UIGEA, had, in a nutshell,
prohibited banks and payment processors from processing transactions that would correlate to online
gambling. This has not only complicated loading accounts, but also withdrawing. While USA online
casinos have continued to operate, they have had to use payment processors that would circumvent
these restrictions. Sadly, the UIGEA was not even set to go into effect until December of 2009,
thought the implications of the legislation had fall out that would be nothing short of catastrophic for
many online gambling companies, especially those that relied heavily on the United States market.
The UIGEA had hamstrung many of the operations around the world that utilized the American
market in order to stay ahead in profits, all the while keeping losses to a low. The

Uncanny In The Sand-Man By Sigmund Freud
Out of Sigmund Freud s many definitions of the word uncanny, I found the definition of the uncanny
as something hidden, not known, or withheld from others the most intriguing (223). In The Sand Man,
Hoffman purposefully keeps the audience in the dark through his use of the letter format and
Nathanael s ignorance and hallucinations in order to retain the reader s attention.
Upon starting The Sand Man, any reader would notice the letter style narrative, which serves to drive
the story onward through the reader s curiosity. By telling the part of the story through the character s
correspondence, Hoffman limits the amount of information the audience can receive. Take, for
example, the very first letter from Nathanael, it was only meant for Lothair, meaning Nathanael was
trying to hide information from the other characters. Nathanael even ends the letter by telling Lothair
not to say anything to Nathaniel s mother and that he will write to Clara when he has a somewhat
calmer frame of mind. (9). This deliberate action of obscuring the truth is Freud s very definition of
uncanny. In addition, even if a character is willing to express his or her account, it will no doubt be
influenced by his or her emotions and memories that may or may not be completely accurate.
Describing Coppelius as hideous, cat like, and distorted in surprising and suspicious detail, Nathanael
seems like a rather unreliable narrator (5). Not only was this memory from his childhood and therefore

Summary Of Eat More Meat And Save The World By George Savory
As humanity advances further into the 21st century, climate change continues to serve as a major
obstacle in ensuring a secure world with the immediate and catastrophic dangers it presents. Major
scientific organizations and governments over the years have created various programs to tackle this
issue: creating carbon emission quotas, investing in green energy and even encouraging citizens to eat
less meat and dairy. However, these programs need a lot of effort, funds, and cooperation to be
successful and result in a drastic improvement. It is of little surprise that Allan Savory s method of
holistic management has gained tremendous popularity, as shown by the fact that his TED talk has two
million views. Savory claims that carbon emissions can be reduced by using more herd animals to
transform desert areas into lush environments. In a subject as critical as climate change, such an
extraordinary idea needs to be able to stand strong against criticism, and George Monbiot, an ardent
environmentalist, scrutinizes holistic management in his article Eat More Meat and Save the World:
The Latest Implausible Farming Miracle . In the article, the rhetor Monbiot portrays holistic
management as an improbable, unscientific idea that knowledgeable environmentalists should
disregard with a scholarly and impartial tone that indicates his exigence, logos in the form of peer
reviewed studies and their relevance, and ethos via a visualization of Savory s inability to defend his

Gun Control In America
Gun Control in America
Imagine, you are standing in a crowd of people, maybe including family and friends, or complete
strangers, and you re dancing to your favorite song having an amazing time. All of a sudden you hear
what sounds like gunshots and the entire crowd is pushing to get to safety, and screaming in fear. This
is exactly what victims such as Adrian Murfitt, Kelsey Meadows, and Jack Beaton had been feeling at
the Route 91 Harvest Festival.
At approximately 10:30 pm on October 1st 2017, in Las Vegas, Nevada, a large group of people were
dancing to Jason Aldean s live performance when suddenly Stephen Paddock open fired at the crowd
from the Mandalay Hotel for 10 minutes. Fifty nine people, including Paddock, lost their lives that
night; this recent shooting has been reported as the deadliest mass shooting in recent US history (Park,
Las Vegas Investigation ). Police have reported that they found at least 19 guns, and 500 rounds of
ammunition in his hotel room. These deadly events continue to happen and are becoming more and
more prevalent in today s society.

Yuraba Motherhood
In her article Is Female to Male as Nature is to Culture, anthropologist, Sherry Ortner claims that
woman is being identified with [. . .] something that every culture devalues [. . .] and that is nature
(10). I would like to extend Ortner s argument and claim that Spirited Away also associates working
motherhood with nature, thus devaluing Yubaba s role as a working mother in Japanese society. We
can see this devaluation from the very beginning when Chihiro and her family drive into the forest that
hides the bathhouse. Since Yubaba lives and works in the bathhouse, the forest also removes her from
society and hides her lifestyle. The remoteness of the forest and hiding depicts her lifestyle as a
clandestine activity which needs to be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the film, we see Yubaba adores Bo through her immediate change in tone of voice from rasping to
cheerful when she speaks to him. Furthermore, she rushes immediately to comfort him when he cries
and when she realizes he has gone missing, Yubaba s torment is depicted through her breathing fire
out of her mouth. Yubaba s fire breathing depiction emphasizes Yubaba s overprotectiveness of Bo,
showing her strong valuing of his presence. However, this strong valuing of Bo s presence shows Bo
is being used (Hatcher, 122). Because society strongly associates the female identity with being caring
and nurturing (Ueno, 15), Yubaba loses part of her identity when Bo is taken from her she loses the
person who depends on her the most and who gives her life purpose. Thus, we can see why she cares
about him so much and goes through great extents to protect him, like covering Bo s room with an
immense amount of pillows and padding. Yubaba also prevents Bo from going out, which we find out
when Bo accuses Chihiro of trying to make him sick: You came in here to make me sick [. . .] you ll
get sick if you go outside [. . .] that s why I ve never left this room. However, Yubaba s actions to
protect Bo actually end up harming him. By preventing Bo from going outside, Yubaba deprives him

Dune Essay
Dune
This book all started with the family Atreides landing on plant Arrakis, commonly known as Dune.
The planet Dune was the centre of the universe due to its immense amounts of spice. This spice is
greatly needed for all planets as fuel and for raw materials. The family Atreides were asked by
Emperor himself to go and mine the spice on the planet. Their greatest enemy the Harkonnen s, were
also on Dune. These two families mining the precious spice on the same plant would lead to great
troubles and wars.
Soon after that, I was introduced to a very brave and insightful young man. The young man is Paul
Atreides. Paul is medium height with short, black hair. His mother Jessica is ... Show more content on

They taught Paul much about fighting and protecting himself from his enemies. These men along with
Paul s mother and father helped prepare him for the coming hardships ahead. A group of people
named the Fremen also were presented. They were people who lived in the desert within the forbidden
zone. The forbidden zone was where no one would ever travel. It was said that there are huge masses
of Fremen there along with giant sandworms reaching a length of four hundred and fifty meters. The
Fremen harvested spice, lived in the cities and in underground cities. Their eyes were bright blue on
blue due to the saturation of the spice which changed their colour. The beginning of this book was
very interesting and told me much about each characters background and personality. I knew there
was something special about Paul and his mother right from the start just by how the author described
them. The family Atreides was very strong and even feared by the Emperor himself because he knew
that Paul was the prophet who was destined to stop all violence, hunger, spice mining, armies and
fighting. He was to bring a new era along with his leadership. This frightened the Emperor that forced
him to act against the
Atreides family.
The Harkonnen s seemed a bit too uninteresting and average to me. They were evil and hated all that
was good. The author should of added a bit more spice to their characters. This would of made the

Archaeology And Its Impact On Archaeology
Archaeology plays a very significant role in anthropology because archaeology is defined as being the
study of human history and prehistory via the excavation of sites and the analysis of artifacts and other
physical remains. The term Archaeology is used to describe the discovery and research of societies
and individuals. Archeological sites differ around the world and their methods of excavation and
reporting often fluctuate. Because of these fluctuations, one needs to review and rank archaeological
sites based on their quality of work, potential for public use, threatened nature, and heritage
importance throughout this paper. Three specific examples of archeological projects that are discussed
thoroughly in this paper are the sites at Caracol, The Hungarian Plane, and Jamestown. Caracol, a
Mayan archaeological site located in Belize, was larger and more populated than the modern day
Belize City, which is the largest city in Belize, and the archaeological study was begun to better
understand the massive Mayan City of Caracol. The term Caracol means shell in Spanish, and it refers
to the logging road that provided access to the site when it was first discovered. Early excavators
explored only the epicenters in the beginning, but as exploration continued, citizens and researchers
started finding multiple tombs outside of the epicenter. The Mynan site was much larger than
anticipated; therefore, the excavation expanded. A goal of the assignment was to learn as much as

What Degrees Are Important For Marine Biologists
Important Questions
What degrees are important for marine biologists?
Some schools offer a marine biology degree and most of these are located in coastal states, but the
undergraduate degree need not be in marine biology. It can be in biology, zoology, fisheries, or one of
the other animal sciences. Physical oceanographers, who study the physical as opposed to the
biological aspects of the sea, may work toward an oceanography degree, with coursework weighted
heavily in physics, mathematics, and computer modeling. Biological oceanographers study both the
biological and physical aspects of the sea and their interactions. Your best bet would be to refer to the
guides mentioned above and contact the schools that interest you and learn more about the programs
and degrees they offer. A bachelor s or master s degree is usually required for most starting marine
biological research jobs, but you should also be aware that the usual level of education required to
carry out independent research in biology is a Ph.D., so if you are serious about a full time career and
want to organize your own research projects, you should get your doctorate.

Athenian Philosophers
Philosopher to Philosopher
In my opinion , the most profound philosopher happens to be Athenian Philosopher Socrates. In
comparison to Prince Arjuna I believe that both philosophers possess the qualities and characteristics
of very wise men. In this essay I am going to compare two philosophers who may have had different
values but similar beliefs. In Socrates The Apology Socrates explained to the public why he should not
be put to death because of his choice to believe in another God. The people of Athens were lead to
believe that Socrates was also corrupting the youth to believe in other Gods as well. In Socrates the

the god which... began when I was a child. It is a voice, and whenever it speaks it turns me away from
something I am about to do, but it never turns me towards anything. This is what has prevented me
from taking part in public affairs, and I think it was quite right to prevent me. Be sure, gentlemen of
the jury, I should have died long ago otherwise . In the end result both of the two had conversations
that enlightened them to do what fit best in that period of their life. Socrates believed that he wouldn t
have became the true philosopher that was if it wasn t for his inner voice.
Personally speaking I believe that Socrates and Ajurna had many similarities with a few differences.
The two philosophers were on the same path and had similar characteristics. They both were very
intelligent men who looked at the world with more of an open minded view which brought trouble
their way. It is safe to say that they both have made an impact in Philosophy and their ideas touched

The Controversy Of Homophobia During World War II Essay
In the recent years there has been a growing concern about the impact of homophobia. In the United
States, few endeavors were made to make backing bunches supporting gay and lesbian connections
until after World War II, albeit prewar gay life prospered in urban focuses, for example, Greenwich
Village and Harlem amid the Harlem Renaissance of the 1920s. The interruptions of World War II
permitted earlier detached gay men and ladies to meet as fighters, war laborers, and different
volunteers evacuated from residential communities and posted around the world. More noteworthy
mindfulness, combined with Senator Joseph McCarthy s examination of gay people holding
government occupations amid the mid 1950s, prompted the primary American based political requests
for reasonable treatment in psychological wellbeing, open strategy, and vocation. Until the passing of
the Sexual Offences Bill in 1967, male homosexual activity was illegal. Gay men were frequently
imprisoned for consensual sex with another man. Lesbianism was not illegal, but was similarly subject
to public disapproval, or ignored. Despite the dangers and difficulties involved, gay men and women
were able to find places to meet. The Minorities Research Group (MRG) was formed in 1964, and
provided isolated lesbians with resources and information about female homosexuality and the
opportunity to meet other women (Allan Horsfall 2014). Through the 1980s, as the gay male
community was decimated by the AIDS epidemic, demands

uncleared woods. There is a thin, clear path created by dogs, deer and other animals. There are high

Mikhail Gorbachev´s Glasnost and Perestroika Policies...
The purpose of this investigation is to assess how significant Mikhail Gorbachev s Glasnost, and
Perestroika polices contribute to the collapse of the USSR. In order to understand how significant of a
factor Gorbachev policies were to the collapse of the USSR, we will investigate from how significant
were the reforms emplaced by Gorbachev, to how the USSR was doing economically from the time
Gorbachev came into power. The main sources for this investigation range from an Excerpt from The
cold war: The United States and the Soviet union by Ronald Powaski who states facts about both the
economic and political issues of the time. Excerpts from New political thinking from perestroika by
Gorbachev which states how he believes new political ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mikhail Gorbachev therefore tried to make changes in soviet domestic and foreign policies even
abandoned long held Marxist principles, in an attempt to reverse economic and social decline of the
USSR. He initiated economic reforms like perestroika and permitted greater freedom of expression,
glasnost to try to overcome hard line oppression. Gorbachev realized that west and the USSR would
continue to have different approaches to specific situations. He also realized that it was no longer
possible to draft a policy on the premises of the year 1947 and that the country need to act in a new
way. Gorbachev believed that Perestroika was needed to normalize life and bring the Soviet Union
and its people into the modern technological age. Perestroika was emplaced to permit individual soviet
enterprises to make their own adjustments which meant it would improve the quality of soviet goods
and change the product mix to meet current demands, and help out the economy.4 Eventually
Gorbachev created a reform policy known as Glasnost which also affected the economy. Gorbachev
was eager to take notice of the human element in the industry, which meant listening to what ordinary
workers wanted and how they were treated. This new freedom extended to other areas of society as
well. Censorship rules were relaxed, and writers and journalists were encouraged to discuss how they
felt about or saw the Soviet future. It even allowed certain things like

Reasons Why Charles Evens Murdered Mrs. Cheryl Hu
I believe that Charles Evens, the pool worker, murdered Mrs. Cheryl Huffington. First of all, we can
assume that Cheryl Huffington was killed two days prior to her neighbor finding her. In the report it
also says that Evens broke his restraining order three days before the murder, or one day before she
was killed. Furthermore, during his interview, he was found to have a key to the house of Mrs.
Huffington around his neck. This proves that he is the murderer because it couldn t just be a
coincidence that he had a wife and a new job, but then he suddenly went against the restraining order.
Also, having a key to her house could obviously prove to be very helpful if he wanted to murder her.
Secondly, even though we can assume that she was killed two days before she was found, we can t
prove that. Charles Evens said that he was out of town on the day before the murder and came back
the next day, so he wasn t in town during the murder. However, since the police report unfortunately
does not say when the murder was, we can assume that they haven t figured it out yet (just because a
gunshot was heard does not mean that it was the murder). So, if Evens knows when the day of the
murder was, and the police don t... it just doesn t add up. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the report it says that after they were caught, she promptly fired him and told him that he was just a

feedback goes hand in hand with this assessment because this is where I tell them about their potential

Organic Architecture Through Functionalism and Minimalism
The inspiration of nature in design created a movement of Organic Architecture through functionalism
and minimalism since the 1800 s influencing some of the greatest architects to emerge. Functionalist
architects and artists design utilitarian structures in which the Organic Architecture dictates the
development within and moves outward in harmony with its surroundings, without regard to such
traditional devices as axial symmetry and classical proportions or any other heavy ornamentation.
Louis Henry Sullivan s design theory that form ever follows function leads the dialogue towards a
new world of design where the buildings effect on its surroundings is considered. Inspired by his

hospitals for example where a patient will be given complimentary therapies related to their illness.
This includes physiatrist, and general massage therapies. Other settings where complementary
therapies may be offered is in a nursing or care home where the resident may be terminally ill and may
require relaxation therapies such as Indian head massage and aroma therapy. A final example of where
therapies can be accessed is at local therapy clinics where a professional may perform complimentary
therapies on an individual to help them relieve stress or anxiety.
There are many different factors that affect access to complementary therapies. An example of this is a

Declaration Of Independence Persuasive Essay
I couldn t happen, but notice the terrible disagreement you engaged in with your dearest lover Allie.
The way you two were talking to each other and the words that were exchanged appeared to be a huge
conflict. To begin, the first problem you seem to have is relationship dissolution. Relationship
dissolution is the breaking or dissolving of the bonds that hold the relationship together. A huge reason
behind this may be because you are very verbally abusive. When you called Allie names such as pain
in the ass it did not help, but make the conflict worse. Instead of calling Allie names you should seek
to engage in more productive communication such as, not using vulgar words or explaining the issue
is a more appropriate manner. In addition, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Force is when you are act like you are in control and do not give the other person an alternate choice,
but to choose your opinion. Allie needs time to think over her decision. Seemingly, as you are
discussing the issue you are putting an exuberant amount force on Allie to choose you. This is very
unfair because it takes away from what Allie wishes to do. As you are forcing your opinion on Allie, it
takes away her ability to form an opinion on her own. This problem is seen through your conflict as
you make statements such as, Would you just stay with me? or Well I hate you. If you leave here. I
hate you . Each of these statements force Allie into wanting to stay with you instead of giving her
space to make her own decision. A possible solution to this problem would be to use active listening.
Active listening is requiring the listener to be fully concentrated and open to what the other individual
is trying to communicate. While you are actively listening you must not make any judgements about
what Allie is saying. Active listening will allow for you to hear Allie s opinion without adding your
judgement in. Also, this solution will help Allie feel more appreciated and accepted by you. If you
were able to fully listen to what Allie is saying, you most likely would avoid forcing your own opinion

Abortion And Its Effects On The United States Essay
In the United States 1.7% of women aged 15 44 have an abortion ( Induced Abortion in the United
States ). Twenty one percent of all pregnancies end in abortion ( Induced Abortion in the United States
). Women most commonly have abortions before the end of her first trimester, twelve weeks into the
pregnancy, however, abortions may also be performed after the first trimester. Abortions are quite
common, but they also lead to numerous issues for the parents such as regret, depression, drug abuse
and even suicide. The parent s choice of abortion has lasting physical and psychological effects on the
parents of the aborted child, even years after the abortion process.
The abortion process has changed in numerous ways during the last two centuries. Abortion was once
illegal, then it changed to be legal. Throughout the process of legalization, it changed in many ways.
In 1821, the state of Connecticut passed a law that banned the use of a liquid, after the fourth month
that would induce a miscarriage of the child ( Timeline of Abortion Laws and Events ). The liquid had
been used for several years simply to terminate the baby, without causing much pain to the mother.
Later on in the 19th century, supplementary efforts were taken to prevent women from being able to
abort their child. By the year of 1856, groups of pro life supporters gathered together with the leader
Dr. Horatio Storer, a pro life supporter, to establish a national drive to prevent women from abortion (

World War I Was An Option Of Peace Or War
WWI
Given the option of peace or war there is an obvious choice. Do not be fooled because there is only a
single way to obtain peace and that is to surrender. To appease those who oppose you and to want to
live on your knees than die on your feet. This sort of idea is heard from many who are safe at home,
eating dinner with their families and watching reality tv. Many things can pit countries against each
other and those things can also push them to war. The slaughtering of thousands for the sake of
materialistic desires is a disease that can numb the sense of morality. World War I was inevitable, there

Martin A. Treptow was a young man who went to France in 1917 with the Rainbow Division. He was

things that could have been prevented. Some would argue that they could have reached an agreement

The Beliefs Of Sun Yat-Sen And Yuan Shikai
Mahatma Gandhi said, A nation s culture resides in the hearts and in the soul of its people. Gandhi was
upset with the British ruling India and how they treated thousands of Indians so harshly. Both Sun Yat
sen and Yuan Shikai held political power and had their own idea of running China. Similar to Gandhi,
Sun Yat sen and Yuan Shikai had their own beliefs in how China should be ruled in order to maximize
both its economic and educational wealth. Sun Yat sen was born on November 12, 1866 in Zhongshan.
He was born into a poor family of farmers and had many siblings. In 1879, one of his brothers took
him to Honolulu where he attended schools and encountered western influences for the first time. He
then left for Hong Kong and his parents arranged his marriage to a girl. He then went to Hawaii to
Guangzhou Hospital Medical School, eventually transferring to another medical college in Hong
Kong (Trueman 2015). Sun had an ambitious personality and was upset with the traditional values
China and the Qing Dynasty had. He wrote a letter to Li Hongzhang, a governor general, discussing
his ideas of how to improve China but Li simply responded with improving the agricultural business
(this was not what Sun had envisioned). In 1894, Sun travelled once again to Hawaii and established
the Revive China Society, a secret revolutionary group. Many peasants, artisans, and those of the
lower classes made up this group. Sun came back to Hong Kong in 1895 in order to plot a riot in

Daniel Defoe s Robinson Crusoe
The concept of monarchy is a hierarchical and hereditary aristocratic system , a structure defined by
the positions of a society that is ruled by a single leader. In the case of Robinson Crusoe (1719), a
King, a common expression of authority. I argue that in Daniel Defoe s novel, Robinson Crusoe does
view himself as King or Emperor of the island he occupies and is often portrayed as this powerful
individual throughout the novel. I assert that Crusoe, being the only dweller of the island, immediately
sees himself as the absolute ruler, which I suggest is to increase his own self confidence, specifically
at the times he feels at his utmost powerless. Through the intensification in self confidence he portrays
a persona that primarily exudes power whilst on the island, though at times Crusoe has a conflicting
image of himself; while he depicts himself as all powerful, he also experiences feelings of
powerlessness and becomes most panicked as an emotional defence mechanism, yet often within a
short period of time he often returns to an authoritative leader. In the novel, Defoe primarily depicts
Crusoe as the dominant leader, however when alone and afraid he also shows signs of weakness,
giving the emotions of the man behind the title.
Crusoe shows this conflicting persona of panicked and powerful, specifically in extract one, through
the use of symbolism. I argue that the lone footprint is a religious representation of God and
emphasises the irony that Crusoe fluctuates

(UPS) is a type of line layout that uses an overhead transporter system to move garment components
from work station to work station for Assembly [pic] Work flow of unit production All the parts for a
single garment are advanced through the production line together by means of a hanging carrier that
travels along an overhead conveyor. The overhead rail system consists of the main conveyor and
accumulating rails for each work station. The overhead conveyor operates much like a railroad track.
Carriers are moved along the main conveyor and switched to an accumulating rail at the work station
where an operation is to be performed. At the completion of an operation the operator presses a button,
and the carrier moves on to the next operation. Most unit production systems are linked to a computer

Google, Inc. And The Chinese International Gateway...
Introduction
Google, Inc. started service in China through Google.com, a version of its homepage in Chinese
language. Although it is operated outside the country, the search results of search requests from China
are monitored and filtered by the Chinese international gateway Internet service providers (ISP). Two
years after the start of service in China, Google.com was down for two weeks and was slow and
unreliable after reinstatement. As a result, Google, Inc. was losing market share in China. With the
objective of developing a more sustainable strategy, the company conducted an analysis and
comparative study. The output was a decision to establish physical presence through Google.cn, a
search engine that is based in China. However, the search results in Google.cn are subjected to self
censorship and government monitoring and filtering as required by Chinese laws of the ISPs that are
operating locally. Because of this decision, Google, Inc. is faced with criticism and bad publicity. The
initial solution was to keep both Google.com and Google.cn.
Problem Statement Google, Inc. has to address negative publicity and decide on the best strategy in
China.
Environmental Analysis The totalitarian government of China monitors the content of all locally
operating ISPs and screens the search results of both local and international ISPs. Other international

Compare And Contrast Political Parties
There have been many losses and victories in creating the government and political parties the United
States relies on today. The two major parties have defiantly changed their original platforms as time
has gone on, but they have each gained voters for their beliefs. Though the parties have changed over
the years, they have also each had recurrent patterns in history. The Democratic and Republican
parties are the two major parties in the United States, and they have many intricate ways of how they
came to be what they are today. In 1492, political government first began when Christopher Columbus
discovered the America s. The Europeans were the first to have control of the land and ran it on their

The United States are ranked well behind Chinese and Australian students in financial literacy, and
new research shows over sixty percent of American teens don t know how to approach basic financial
problems (Shepard). There are many beneficial reasons why personal finance should be required in
high school a few of which are: young adults are lacking the basics, there isn t any personal finance
being taught in the classroom, it s a part of our everyday life, and Americas debt lies in our future. The
lack of personal finance being taught in the classroom is a major concern in the United States. One of

Essay John Locke
In this essay I argue that the late philosopher Locke has the most compelling theory of metaphysics.
First, I explain Locke s point that all humans are born as Tabula Rasa, in order to gain basic
understanding of where Locke begins his theory. Second, I discuss how Locke argues how we obtain
knowledge, empiricism and representationalism, and knowledge about the work varies between strong
and weak inferences. Third, I will provide counter examples to Locke s ideas, and will explain why
these counter examples work for Locke s theories provided. Finally, I address some of the ways that
Locke might respond to my objections. The following paragraph will be used to define and understand

Locke furthers his own theory of this by stating that humans are not born with innate ideas (Matheis).
With what Locke states, we as humans can reason that we are born without any knowledge and
everything that we learn is put onto our blank slate. The Tabula Rasa is important because it also gives
us a basic understanding to Locke s later arguments and theories. Locke argues that if we all had an
innate idea we wouldn t need to use reason to discover them because they would already be present in
the human mind. Although, Locke s idea about blank slates is a very logical idea, there are a few flaws
within. Innate knowledge, which was produced as an idea from Plato states that we already learned
everything prior to being born, we are just simply experiencing and recollecting knowledge from our
soul that we had before our physical birth. Plato was not the only philosopher that supported the idea
of innate knowledge. Descartes also believed in innate knowledge over the Tabula Rasa, he believed
in the innate ideas of God. Kant also believed that we had a sense of time, space, causality and
comparison from innate knowledge (Al Rodhan). Locke then goes further into his theory by stating

  • 2. Fracking Of The United States Alexi Taylor Monday, December 1, 2014 Dr. Gray Final Paper Fracking in the United States Hydraulic fracking in the United States is a current environmental hazard that has to be addressed by the American people and by the federal government. Fracking in America has opened up millions of acres of lands that were once not economically viable to produce oil and gas. While the Bureau of land Management has paved the way for hydraulic fracturing on public lands, there is a need for retaliation. Fracking is a dirty method of extracting gases and oils at the price of numerous environmental, safety, and health hazards. The environment is not a means of income when rather it is the capital for future generations. Currently fracking is being disputed at state and federal levels. Farmers around the country have been affected by this issue where fracking companies disturb the surrounding environment to a point that nearby neighbors are affected so much where their drinking water becomes contaminated and undrinkable. Who becomes responsible to support these everyday farmers to contend against these well off oil fracking companies? In some cases these farmers don t have the resources to win the legal disputes against these large fracking barons. Small family farms are disappearing at a fast rate, and one more variable thrown in will make these small family farm disappear that much faster. Even if the victims were to triumph in one court case what happens after when they plug ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Ugetsu Dualism Ugetsu is one of the most critically acclaimed and culturally significant films to come out of the Japanese Golden Age of Cinema. Directed by Kenji Mizoguchi, who stood with Ozu and Kurosawa as what are widely regarded by film critics and scholars to be the three greatest filmmakers and masters of their craft that rose to prominence during the Nipponese age of cinema in Japan. Ugetsu is a stunningly multifaceted story that begins as the tale of two families trying to achieve the realization of their ambitions through different means and turns into a cautionary, almost mythological, fable that shows the consequences of the main characters single minded determination to bring their dreams to fruition. The elements of mythos and mysticism come ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He also uses these crafted dualities to transfer the mythological and fable like qualities of the written stories he is interpreting to cinematic experience that is accessible while not seeming radically unimaginable. Mizoguchi also uses elements of foreshadowing to ease the audience into the transition from realistic tale of woe into the realm of mystical caution that he weaves in Ugetsu. Summary At its core, Ugetsu is a story of two brothers who each fall victim to a separate incarnation of capital vice and the consequences that befall not only themselves because of their actions, but also the consequences their actions bring down upon their loved ones. The film follows two related families comprised of Genjuro, his wife Miyagi (Tanaka Kinuyo), and their son Genichi (Ikio Sawamura) who live alongside their neighbors Tobei and his wife Ohama (Mitsuko Mito) during the Japanese Sengoku era between 1467 and 1573 while the country is embroiled in a massive civil war. • 4. Chesapeake Colonies Benefits The Chesapeake colonies were drawn to America to gain wealth from silver and gold, but they quickly realized that they were not as abundant as the Spanish had found in Mexico. The group was made up of a small group of farmers, laborers, craftsmen, and gentry. Slowly coming to realize that they needed to grow their own food and find a profitable resource, policies were set in place, which changed Virginia to a more progressive society. At first the relationship with the natives were peaceful, and most was fair. But tensions grew between the two led to the destruction of Indians villages and crops. Tobacco was the new gold increasing use from the Europeans caused a demand, more than 200,000 pounds was grown by 1624 yielding large profits for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. A Lesson Plan For A Teacher Every teacher is responsible for planning what will be taught to their students every week. Each day the students will have certain activities and work that all comes together under the same category. This is what is called lesson plans, and they are a very important part of keeping the class together and also help the teacher stay organized. There are many different ways in which one can set up their lesson plans, but it is very important to have them done the correct way rather than the wrong way to get the full benefit from them. I was able to find two different lesson plans that represent the correct way and also the wrong way. The correct one I was able to find on reading.org and the other one I found on esltreasures.com. Each one was created for the beneficial knowledge of the student, however they are very different and only one will help them obtain that knowledge. The first lesson plan that I found on esltreasures.com was a very simple lesson plan, which appears to be more of an agenda with different times with each activity. The lesson is supposed to be directed for a class of junior beginners and is meant to cover a grammar lesson along with spelling and vocabulary. However everything is done in unrealistic time frames. All the activities are between 5 to 20 minutes each. Since the subject being taught is grammar and vocabulary, there is an assignment for a spelling game, but it is only for 10 minutes. • 6. Perseverance In Beowulf Courage doesn t always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says I ll try again tomorrow. Mary Anne Radmacher. Beowulf is a epic poem that shares the journey of an epic hero named Beowulf who shows us he has plenty of courage and selflessness throughout the story. Beowulf portrays his perseverance when we are introduced to a monster that goes by the name of Grendel. He defeats the monster and proves that he is capable of being a hero that the people need. Beowulf is a virtuous man and virtue was very important in Anglo Saxon culture. He shows four traits through the course of the poem which can be seen as Loyalty, Strength, Bravery, and Friendship. Beowulf constantly portrays these four traits as we read more of the poem, and it shows why he is a hero that his people relied on. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Beowulf travels to the land where Hrothgar rules, to slay Grendel and stop the murder sprees that wipes out Hrothgar s men. Competition, Stability, And Civil Society Competition, Stability, and Civil Society Nepal is a very diverse country, within its borders there are 127 spoken languages, 125 ethnic groups, three ecosystems, numerous social castes, and when dealing with politics, over 120 political parties. While Nepal does host a plethora of political parties, there are three that stand out as the most noteworthy. These are the Maoists, Marxist Leninist party, and the Nepali Congress party (Harris, 2013a). The Maoists are the political party that fought against, and won, against the Hindu monarchy during the civil war that lasted a decade; this civil war ended in 2006 with the defeat of the Hindu monarchy (Harris, 2013b). The Maoists appear to be the most active group when it comes to civil disobedience. During the elections, they were responsible for bombings, force road closures, and even abductions in an effort to prevent the citizens of Nepal from voting (Harris, 2013a). In spite of these acts of disobedience, the Maoist party was still able to secure a minority in the CA (Harris, 2013b). Then there is the Marxist Leninist part whose doctrine follows that of the leaders of Russia Marx and Lenin. In their charter, they aim to unite the lower class citizens and those of unfavorable castes and give them a political voice which has, up until recently, been overlooked (Communist Party, 2011). • 9. Online Gambling Enforcement Act Of 2006 Back in 1996, the explosion of online casino gambling swept the world. The United States had been a large part of this, and many gamblers had turned to online casinos for all of their gaming. For many years, these casinos continued to be played unabated. Unfortunately, back in 2006, legislation was passed that made it slightly difficult for online casinos to continue to operate. This legislation, sneaked in by piggyback through the Safe Port Act, would be named the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, and it became a thorn in the side of the online gambler, the online casino, and all payment processors there in. The Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006, or the UIGEA, had, in a nutshell, prohibited banks and payment processors from processing transactions that would correlate to online gambling. This has not only complicated loading accounts, but also withdrawing. While USA online casinos have continued to operate, they have had to use payment processors that would circumvent these restrictions. Sadly, the UIGEA was not even set to go into effect until December of 2009, thought the implications of the legislation had fall out that would be nothing short of catastrophic for many online gambling companies, especially those that relied heavily on the United States market. • 10. Uncanny In The Sand-Man By Sigmund Freud Out of Sigmund Freud s many definitions of the word uncanny, I found the definition of the uncanny as something hidden, not known, or withheld from others the most intriguing (223). In The Sand Man, Hoffman purposefully keeps the audience in the dark through his use of the letter format and Nathanael s ignorance and hallucinations in order to retain the reader s attention. Upon starting The Sand Man, any reader would notice the letter style narrative, which serves to drive the story onward through the reader s curiosity. By telling the part of the story through the character s correspondence, Hoffman limits the amount of information the audience can receive. Take, for example, the very first letter from Nathanael, it was only meant for Lothair, meaning Nathanael was trying to hide information from the other characters. Nathanael even ends the letter by telling Lothair not to say anything to Nathaniel s mother and that he will write to Clara when he has a somewhat calmer frame of mind. (9). This deliberate action of obscuring the truth is Freud s very definition of uncanny. In addition, even if a character is willing to express his or her account, it will no doubt be influenced by his or her emotions and memories that may or may not be completely accurate. Describing Coppelius as hideous, cat like, and distorted in surprising and suspicious detail, Nathanael seems like a rather unreliable narrator (5). • 11. Summary Of Eat More Meat And Save The World By George Savory As humanity advances further into the 21st century, climate change continues to serve as a major obstacle in ensuring a secure world with the immediate and catastrophic dangers it presents. Major scientific organizations and governments over the years have created various programs to tackle this issue: creating carbon emission quotas, investing in green energy and even encouraging citizens to eat less meat and dairy. However, these programs need a lot of effort, funds, and cooperation to be successful and result in a drastic improvement. It is of little surprise that Allan Savory s method of holistic management has gained tremendous popularity, as shown by the fact that his TED talk has two million views. Savory claims that carbon emissions can be reduced by using more herd animals to transform desert areas into lush environments. In a subject as critical as climate change, such an extraordinary idea needs to be able to stand strong against criticism, and George Monbiot, an ardent environmentalist, scrutinizes holistic management in his article Eat More Meat and Save the World: The Latest Implausible Farming Miracle . In the article, the rhetor Monbiot portrays holistic management as an improbable, unscientific idea that knowledgeable environmentalists should disregard with a scholarly and impartial tone that indicates his exigence, logos in the form of peer reviewed studies and their relevance, and ethos via a visualization of Savory s inability to defend his own ... I would like to extend Ortner s argument and claim that Spirited Away also associates working motherhood with nature, thus devaluing Yubaba s role as a working mother in Japanese society. We can see this devaluation from the very beginning when Chihiro and her family drive into the forest that hides the bathhouse. Yubaba s fire breathing depiction emphasizes Yubaba s overprotectiveness of Bo, showing her strong valuing of his presence. However, this strong valuing of Bo s presence shows Bo is being used (Hatcher, 122). Because society strongly associates the female identity with being caring and nurturing (Ueno, 15), Yubaba loses part of her identity when Bo is taken from her she loses the person who depends on her the most and who gives her life purpose. Thus, we can see why she cares about him so much and goes through great extents to protect him, like covering Bo s room with an immense amount of pillows and padding. • 17. Archaeology And Its Impact On Archaeology Archaeology plays a very significant role in anthropology because archaeology is defined as being the study of human history and prehistory via the excavation of sites and the analysis of artifacts and other physical remains. The term Archaeology is used to describe the discovery and research of societies and individuals. Archeological sites differ around the world and their methods of excavation and reporting often fluctuate. Because of these fluctuations, one needs to review and rank archaeological sites based on their quality of work, potential for public use, threatened nature, and heritage importance throughout this paper. Three specific examples of archeological projects that are discussed thoroughly in this paper are the sites at Caracol, The Hungarian Plane, and Jamestown. Caracol, a Mayan archaeological site located in Belize, was larger and more populated than the modern day Belize City, which is the largest city in Belize, and the archaeological study was begun to better understand the massive Mayan City of Caracol. The term Caracol means shell in Spanish, and it refers to the logging road that provided access to the site when it was first discovered. Early excavators explored only the epicenters in the beginning, but as exploration continued, citizens and researchers started finding multiple tombs outside of the epicenter. The Mynan site was much larger than anticipated; therefore, the excavation expanded. A goal of the assignment was to learn as much as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Some schools offer a marine biology degree and most of these are located in coastal states, but the undergraduate degree need not be in marine biology. It can be in biology, zoology, fisheries, or one of the other animal sciences. Physical oceanographers, who study the physical as opposed to the biological aspects of the sea, may work toward an oceanography degree, with coursework weighted heavily in physics, mathematics, and computer modeling. Biological oceanographers study both the biological and physical aspects of the sea and their interactions. Your best bet would be to refer to the guides mentioned above and contact the schools that interest you and learn more about the programs and degrees they offer. A bachelor s or master s degree is usually required for most starting marine biological research jobs, but you should also be aware that the usual level of education required to carry out independent research in biology is a Ph.D., so if you are serious about a full time career and want to organize your own research projects, you should get your doctorate. In the United States, few endeavors were made to make backing bunches supporting gay and lesbian connections until after World War II, albeit prewar gay life prospered in urban focuses, for example, Greenwich Village and Harlem amid the Harlem Renaissance of the 1920s. The interruptions of World War II permitted earlier detached gay men and ladies to meet as fighters, war laborers, and different volunteers evacuated from residential communities and posted around the world. Until the passing of the Sexual Offences Bill in 1967, male homosexual activity was illegal. Gay men were frequently imprisoned for consensual sex with another man. Lesbianism was not illegal, but was similarly subject to public disapproval, or ignored. Despite the dangers and difficulties involved, gay men and women were able to find places to meet. The Minorities Research Group (MRG) was formed in 1964, and provided isolated lesbians with resources and information about female homosexuality and the opportunity to meet other women (Allan Horsfall 2014). The way you two were talking to each other and the words that were exchanged appeared to be a huge conflict. To begin, the first problem you seem to have is relationship dissolution. Relationship dissolution is the breaking or dissolving of the bonds that hold the relationship together. A huge reason behind this may be because you are very verbally abusive. When you called Allie names such as pain in the ass it did not help, but make the conflict worse. Allie needs time to think over her decision. Seemingly, as you are discussing the issue you are putting an exuberant amount force on Allie to choose you. This is very unfair because it takes away from what Allie wishes to do. As you are forcing your opinion on Allie, it takes away her ability to form an opinion on her own. This problem is seen through your conflict as you make statements such as, Would you just stay with me? or Well I hate you. If you leave here. I hate you . Each of these statements force Allie into wanting to stay with you instead of giving her space to make her own decision. A possible solution to this problem would be to use active listening. Active listening is requiring the listener to be fully concentrated and open to what the other individual is trying to communicate. While you are actively listening you must not make any judgements about what Allie is saying. Active listening will allow for you to hear Allie s opinion without adding your judgement in. Also, this solution will help Allie feel more appreciated and accepted by you. If you were able to fully listen to what Allie is saying, you most likely would avoid forcing your own opinion on ... • 30. Abortion And Its Effects On The United States Essay In the United States 1.7% of women aged 15 44 have an abortion ( Induced Abortion in the United States ). Twenty one percent of all pregnancies end in abortion ( Induced Abortion in the United States ). Women most commonly have abortions before the end of her first trimester, twelve weeks into the pregnancy, however, abortions may also be performed after the first trimester. Abortions are quite common, but they also lead to numerous issues for the parents such as regret, depression, drug abuse and even suicide. The parent s choice of abortion has lasting physical and psychological effects on the parents of the aborted child, even years after the abortion process. The abortion process has changed in numerous ways during the last two centuries. Abortion was once illegal, then it changed to be legal. Throughout the process of legalization, it changed in many ways. In 1821, the state of Connecticut passed a law that banned the use of a liquid, after the fourth month that would induce a miscarriage of the child ( Timeline of Abortion Laws and Events ). The liquid had been used for several years simply to terminate the baby, without causing much pain to the mother. Later on in the 19th century, supplementary efforts were taken to prevent women from being able to abort their child. By the year of 1856, groups of pro life supporters gathered together with the leader Dr. Horatio Storer, a pro life supporter, to establish a national drive to prevent women from abortion ( Timeline ... Many things can pit countries against each other and those things can also push them to war. I argue that in Daniel Defoe s novel, Robinson Crusoe does view himself as King or Emperor of the island he occupies and is often portrayed as this powerful individual throughout the novel. I assert that Crusoe, being the only dweller of the island, immediately sees himself as the absolute ruler, which I suggest is to increase his own self confidence, specifically at the times he feels at his utmost powerless. Through the intensification in self confidence he portrays a persona that primarily exudes power whilst on the island, though at times Crusoe has a conflicting image of himself; while he depicts himself as all powerful, he also experiences feelings of powerlessness and becomes most panicked as an emotional defence mechanism, yet often within a short period of time he often returns to an authoritative leader. In the novel, Defoe primarily depicts Crusoe as the dominant leader, however when alone and afraid he also shows signs of weakness, giving the emotions of the man behind the title. Crusoe shows this conflicting persona of panicked and powerful, specifically in extract one, through the use of symbolism. I argue that the lone footprint is a religious representation of God and emphasises the irony that Crusoe fluctuates ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Two years after the start of service in China, Google.com was down for two weeks and was slow and unreliable after reinstatement. As a result, Google, Inc. was losing market share in China. Locke furthers his own theory of this by stating that humans are not born with innate ideas (Matheis). With what Locke states, we as humans can reason that we are born without any knowledge and everything that we learn is put onto our blank slate. The Tabula Rasa is important because it also gives us a basic understanding to Locke s later arguments and theories. Locke argues that if we all had an innate idea we wouldn t need to use reason to discover them because they would already be present in the human mind. Although, Locke s idea about blank slates is a very logical idea, there are a few flaws within. Innate knowledge, which was produced as an idea from Plato states that we already learned everything prior to being born, we are just simply experiencing and recollecting knowledge from our soul that we had before our physical birth. Plato was not the only philosopher that supported the idea of innate knowledge. Descartes also believed in innate knowledge over the Tabula Rasa, he believed in the innate ideas of God. Kant also believed that we had a sense of time, space, causality and comparison from innate knowledge (Al Rodhan).
