Suppressed Darkness On The Medieval Mind Map
Suppressed Darkness on the Medieval Mind Map
William Manchester s A World Lit Only By Fire: The Medieval Mind and the Renaissance unveils an
in depth look at the Late Medieval Ages in Europe and touches upon the Renaissance. It is most well
known as the time period that occurred after the fall of the Roman Empire when the eastern world
seemed to have plummeted into an age of regression and darkness. Manchester s central proposition
was The power of the medieval mind had been irrevocably broken (295). The dimensions of the
medieval mind were cloaked from the outside world and suppressed by the ever powerful dogmas of
the Catholic Church, for there was no room for doubt; the possibility of skepticism simply did not
exist (20). At the same time, a new era was rising in Europe, accompanied by an increasing rate in
literacy, new innovations, the printing press, powerful political figures, and the appraisals of the
Catholic Church. A new cultural movement began to appear, known as the Renaissance, and the
darkness of the medieval mind map was forever shattered, to remain a pale illusion. Humanists, such
as Sir Thomas More and Desiderius Erasmus, and inventors and explorers such as Leonardo Da Vinci,
Nicolas Copernicus, and Ferdinand Magellan guided the way to a new ideology of independent
thinking. Following the campaign of upcoming thinkers, movements, and changes that would turn
people s blind eye, Manchester concluded his point with the tale of Magellan s heroic

Christian Fellowship Have Heard Of Evangelism Essay
Many within the Christian fellowship have heard of evangelism. Nevertheless, it is not at all surprising
that many aren t quite familiar with the true definition of the term. Furthermore, there are many
Christians whom would consider themselves to be faithful and committed followers of Christ who
obey and believe the Word of God with a testimony that reveals that they are being the best servant
that he or she can be towards the risen Savior. Often times, Christians lead their lives without much
consideration about sharing the gospel with anyone other than their immediate family members or
close friends. Event then, Christians aren t too sure of what they should say or how it should be said.
Christians have become extremely sensitive of not offending another individual when it comes to the
gospel of Jesus Christ. It is often considered that evangelism is the responsibility of the senior pastor
and staff ministers. Sometimes our problem may be any one of a long list of excuses. Perhaps we don t
know the gospel well enough or we don t think we do. Maybe we think it s someone else s job, the
work of a minister or a missionary (Dever, 2007, p. 16).
Dever asks the question, What is the gospel (Dever, 2007, p. 31)? For Christians who have been saved
for any good length of time, the gospel is commonly known as the good news of the Lord Jesus Christ
being full of love and compassion, who was born to a virgin mother in a manger who came to save a
dying world from their

Ratio and Financial Statement Analysis Essay
Executive Summary
This paper examines financial ratio analysis by defining, the three groups of stakeholders that use
financial ratios, the five different kinds of ratios used and their applications, the analytical tools used
in analysis, and finally financial ratio analysis limitations and benefits.
The paper illustrates that financial ratio analysis is an important tool for firm s to evaluate their
financial health in order to identify areas of weakness so as to institute corrective measures.
While financial ratio analysis does contain limitations that include little theory to guide them as well
as the use of accounting data based on historical costs that may not reflect a firm s true economic
conditions, it is an excellent tool ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One is Working capital to total assets ratio that measures a firm s ability to pay off its short term
liabilities and is calculated by subtracting current liabilities from current assets divided by total assets.
The retained earnings to total assets ratio that measures a firm s use of its total asset base to generate
earnings is also used. It is important to note that retained earnings can be easily manipulated distorting
the final calculation. The third financial ratio used by the Z score formula is the market value of equity
to book value of debt. This is the inverse of the debt to equity ratio, and it shows the amount a firm s
assets can decline in value before liabilities exceed assets. For closely held firms, stockholders equity
or total assets less total liabilities can be used but this amount has not been statistically verified for
purposes of the formula. The sale to total assets ratio that measures a firm s ability to generate sales
with its asset base is also used. The fifth financial ratio is the operating income to total assets. This
ratio is the most important factor in the formula because its profit that eventually makes or breaks a
firm. In calculating the Z score, each of these ratios is given a weight factor that is used within the
formula. (IOMA s report, 2003). See appendix I for the Z score formula and how to interpret the
results obtained. The Z score is used by firms when running regular financial data and firms use it to

Spotted Owl, Flying Squirrel, Truffle Symbiosis
Throughout the world there are many animals, plants, fungi and numerous other living organisms that
are influenced by the overall condition or adaptations of other organisms. Whether it is a symbiotic
relationship or a predator/prey relationship there are many ways in which animals and other living
organisms operate and live; both dependent on others and their own adaptations. The point is that
there are many relationships that provide a basis and means for the survival of a variety of different
species around the world. This relationship is very apparent in the scientific findings regarding
northern spotted owls (Strix Occidentalis), flying squirrels (Glaucomys Sabrinus), and truffles, which
can include many varieties but especially Tuber ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unlike many other rodents the flying squirrel does not hibernate. Instead they group together during
the winter and cold month s to maintain warmth. Northern flying squirrels usually communicate with
a soft low chirp but also cluck just like other squirrels when distressed. These squirrels also use scent
and touch to communicate with one another; utilizing their excellent senses of hearing, smell, vision,
and touch to correspond with the signals they emanate. A major food source for the squirrels are
mycorrhizal fungi (truffles) of many different species, though they also eat lichens, mushrooms, all
mast crop nuts, tree sap, insects, carrion, bird eggs and nestlings, buds and flowers. The squirrels are
special in that they can find truffles by olfaction, which is the use of smell. They also seem to use
clues such as the presence of wood debris, indicating a decaying log, and spatial memory of locations
where truffles were found in the past. The northern flying squirrel is also known to stash food for
when food supplies are lower such as in the winter. These caches can be in cavities in trees, as well as
in the squirrels nest, or even within the ground. Lichens and seeds are the commonly stored items (9).
Yet in this relationship the most important functions of this squirrel are to provide food for the owls,
and in addition, to greatly

A Modest Proposal Rhetorical Analysis
During the late seventeenth century, political pamphlets were distributed throughout Ireland to
promote the ideas of various intellectuals and laymen. However, many discarded them and did not pay
attention to them. Jonathan Swift, author of A Modest Proposal, takes lead for these unnoticed
pamphlets and builds a proposal he thinks would help Ireland economy. A Modest Proposal is an
ironic example that presents the attitude of rich towards poor and their starving kids. Jonathan uses
various elements like metaphors, repetitions, irony and parallelism to focus on destructive defiance of
the writing. Jonathan swift starts by blaming the mothers of these children that they should start
working and get some earning to support these kids. He also foretells the future of these children that
they will turn into thieves or sell themselves to foreign countries for money. According to Swift, it is
just because the parents did not train their children the unassertive way of life and could not give them
a proper lifestyle. In A Modest Proposal Jonathan Swift does not blame the shortcomings of Ireland on
the people. He says that the people, politicians, and English were all to be at fault for the terrible state
and poverty of Ireland. there are three factors that make Swift s argument not serious: the tone of the
author, his insincerity, and ridiculousness of the proposal.
Swift states that because these women kept having children and could not provide food to them, the
economy of Ireland and standard of living couldn t improve. So, he makes a proposal to the public that
he thinks would be beneficial for them. His way of thinking and argument is incorrect in what he is
proposing as He marks that young healthy children are delicious food to be roasted, stewed and boiled
to be served and eaten by rich British people. Similarly, he estimates that twenty thousand kids should
be held in reserve for breeding purposes. This brutalizes how children should be treated like animals.
Jonathan swift trying to support his argument, in a very sarcastic way states that certain body parts of
children are good to eat and on special occasions could be held on demand. furthermore, he advises
that healthy and nourished kids could be

Tweeter Etc。
TUJEETER ETG. O n August 16, 1996, Sandy Bloomberg, founder and CEO of Tweeter etc.,
reflected on the recent history of his small, upscale New England retailer of consumer electronics.
Tweeter had grown from a 13 store chain with $35 million in annual sales in 1991 to a 21 store chain
with $82 million in annual sales in 1996. Bloomberg had always attributed part of this growth to
Tweeter s Automatic Price Protection policy, which had been implemented in 1993. Under Automatic
Price Protection (APP), Tweeter monitored local newspaper ads and automatically mailed a refund
check to a consumer if an item purchased at Tweeter during the past 30 days was advertised for a

However, their New England presence quickly grew to 15 full sized stores (approximately 30,000
square feet) and 6 smaller Circuit City Express stores (approximately 3,000 square feet). With a
reputation for knowledgeable salespeople and good service, Circuit City topped $5.5 billion in sales
across more than 350 stores nationwide in 1995. Although Circuit City s offerings included personal
computers, medium to large home appliances, audio tapes and compact discs, approximately 60% of
their total sales were derived from the sale of video and audio equipment. At the other end of the
spectrum was Cambridge Soundworks, with less than a 1% share of the New England market.
Founded in 1988, Cambridge Soundworks specialized in the design, manufacture and sale of their
exclusive line of medium to high end stereo and home theater speakers. Accounting for 69% of their
total revenues in 1995, these speakers regularly received positive reviews in the audio and consumer
electronic magazines and were often rated as a good value for their $200 to $600 per set price tags.
The bulk of Cambridge Soundworks remaining sales consisted of popular brand name audio
electronics, such as receivers by Harman Kardon and CD players by Sony, which complemented the
sale of their private label speakers. While still only a niche player in the region, Cambridge
Soundworks

Double Jeopardy Of The Fifth Amendment
The 1999 Paramount Pictures movie thriller Double Jeopardy is a movie about
Libby, a mother of a 4 year old son, who is convicted of killing her husband on a boat although she
has no recollection of doing so. She soon finds out that her husband faked the murder and is still alive
with her son. Libby learns in prison that if she killed her husband she cannot be committed of the
crime because she already served time for
killing him. The movie states that the rules of double jeopardy of the Fifth Amendment allow Libby to
kill her husband when she gets out of prison because she cannot be tried for the same crime twice. In
reality, if Libby had killed her husband at the end of the film, which she did, she could be tried again.

Comparing The Gregorian Calendar And The Mayan Calendar
Since the beginning, people have created calendars for order and to value life. Calendars have
provided us a reference for measuring the passage of time throughout our existence. They have
evolved from picking up more information from other ideas and ancient cultures. These include the
Egyptian calendar, the Gregorian calendar (the one we use today) and the Mayan calendar.
Historically, the creation of a calendar that provides both a satisfactory representation of time and
practical value for the ordering of life has proved a vexing problem.
Such problems began with the length of the day, the basic division of calendrical time. Technical
difficulties associated with measuring time on Earth and ignorance of the true structure of the solar

The origins of the calendar in the West can be traced to the astronomical reckoning of the ancient
Egyptians, who devised a system based upon a year of 360 days with an additional five day
intercalation. This system was then adopted by the Romans in 45 bc to replace their flawed calendar.
Forwarded by Julius Caesar under the advisement of the astronomer Sosigenes, the Julian Reform
called for an abandonment of lunation and for reliance on a completely solar calendar. The resulting
discrepancy produced significant conflicts between calendar dates and the observable seasons over the
course of the ensuing centuries. Nevertheless, the new system proved vastly superior to its
predecessor. It was accepted throughout the Roman world, and in 325 ad made the official doctrine of
Christendom by the first Council of Nicea. The system instituted the leap year, adding one day to the
calendar every four years, but even with the leap year fix it was unsatisfactory the Julian year was still
11 minutes and 14 seconds longer than the tropical

to think about where it comes from before it gets to the supermarket or the restaurant. If you feel you
re not really sure where it comes from, write about that. Why aren t you sure?
Wow! That s a huge question, since there are many types of food. I believe fresh fruits and vegetables
are harvested in bulk from farms, orchards, vineyards, etc., and then go through facilities that handle
the cleaning, sorting, packaging (for fresh), and canning. Milk originates at dairy farms and either gets

15. Gary Hisrhberg of Stoneyfield farms describes Walmart as one of the most vilified corporations in
America. He goes on to say that a sale of a million dollars to Walmart [of organic products] helps to
save the world. First, what does vilified mean and why do you think Walmart is vilified? Second, why
is a huge sale of organic products to Walmart one way to help save the world?
Vilify means to portray as the bad guy or villain. Many people think Walmart is harmful to
communities by taking sales away from local small business. But a healthy, organically produced
product on Walmart s shelves can reach a lot more consumers due to their large customer base.

The Dumbest Generation The Dumbest Generation
A few years ago, I decided to learn sign language. It was not a project for a class, a requirement to
graduate, or a fact that everyone knew. I just wanted to learn sign language, so I did what many twenty
first century millennials do and downloaded an app. The app showed me diagrams to learn basic
phrases, videos to perfect the movements, and lessons to learn more efficiently. The technology of the
app made learning sign language easy, and I could use it wherever I went. I thought that I was smart
for using technology to learn specific things, but Mark Bauerlein, the author of a 2008 book called
The Dumbest Generation, would disagree. According to Bauerlein, twenty first century teenagers
possess low knowledge levels when compared to past generations because of the increased use of
technology. However, Bauerlein is mistaken. This generation is not the dumbest generation because
we focus on different topics, we write more often, and we know that every generation has been called
the dumbest . Every generation is different, and the information that is commonly learned in each
generation is affected by the events surrounding that time period. As stated in The Dumbest
Generation? Don t Be Dumb article written by Sharon Begley, the reason why people cared more
about politics in 1966 than now was because politics determined whether or not you were going to get
drafted and shipped to Vietnam . Today, teenagers do not care as much about politics because,

Rodrigo’s Reconcile Essay
Rodrigo s Reconcile
Reconciliation means to bring back together. In Reconciliation the way we are brought back together
with the community is by asking forgiveness. Forgiveness means to pardon or spare. In Greek it
means to send forth, put away, and yield up. The other meaning is to give up the desire to punish or to
cancel a debt. Jesus gave us the sacrament of Reconciliation. We were granted this sacrament so
whenever we turn away from God we have the choice of asking forgiveness so we can be reunited
with Him. The four steps in the sacrament of Reconciliation are confession, contrition, penance, and
absolution. The first step is confession which allows people to reunite with God by admitting their
sins. Before you can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The only thing was that Rodrigo issued his own penance which was harder than was needed. He fasted
for a long period of time. After he fasted he dragged around his armor and sword symbolizing his
faults in his former job. He climbed the waterfall with his luggage and also climbed a mountain. He
realized that he had done many wrongs in his life by being a slave trader and a mercenary. He knew
that he couldn t have an easy penance. He became upset when Father Gabriel cut off his pack full of
armor because he knew that Father Gabriel was not the person he was asking forgiveness from. After
doing his penance the only step left was absolution. The weird thing about it was that he didn t let
Father Gabriel give him the absolution. He wanted a member of the Indian tribe to absolve him. This
was the same tribe who he enslaved and killed their people. One day while climbing the mountain a
young Indian boy came and cut the pack and threw it into the water. The weight was lifted off of his
back after he had been forgiven. Rodrigo did want a new chance at life. The way he was granted this
was through Reconciliation. His had led a life of violence. All he really knew was fighting and
capturing Indians for slavery. He was truly reconciled. He was brought back together with the
community of Indians. He canceled his debt with his brother and the Indians. He was pardoned and
spared by the Indians who he previously

The Usage Of Search Engine Optimization
How lucky we are to be living in this century, with the technology that is available to us. All around us
is the opportunity to cast our nets and create an affordable and visually stunning marketing campaign
all at a fraction of the cost it would have in the past. Targeted and geographical marketing is like a fine
science now (much more precise) and businesses are reaching places they never thought possible.
Search engines, social media, and blogging are the common place to promote services and products.
The questions that I am aiming to answer today are how the three compare to each other, and also do
you really need to use all three to be successful/ should you intertwine them all to create a triple threat
to competitors? The gateway to searching for your business is with the usage of a search engine. When
you think of an item that you would like to purchase you type into the search engine those key words .
The usage of search engine optimization (SEO) is what gets your businesses name at the forefront of
the page (Kissmetrics 2016). For example, if you are going to search for sporting goods , the first six
names that come up are all for the retail chain Dick s Sporting Goods. Further down the page is also a
listing for Dunham s Sports (another sports merchandise retailer), but it is clear that Dick s has the
market cornered as far as SEO is concerned. What did they do different than Dunham s to get these
coveted spots? Number one, they have the sponsored ad

Dna Profiling And The Criminal Justice System
In November of 1983, 15 year old Lynda Mann was found raped and murdered on a deserted road, and
although police were able to obtain a semen sample from her murderer the case remained unsolved. In
1986 the killer struck again murdering 15 year old Dawn Ashworth, once again leaving behind semen,
but this time the police were able to use DNA profiling to match the semen to a suspect. Colin
Pitchfork became the first person to be caught based on mass DNA screening, and the first to be
convicted based on DNA profiling. The use of Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) in the criminal justice
system has greatly tipped the scales in favor of law enforcement, and changed the world that we live
in. Court cases that in the past relied heavily on eye witness testimony and circumstantial evidence
now have science to back them up. DNA analysis has revolutionized the criminal justice system, and
even though there are some flaws, the use of DNA evidence should continue to be used by law
enforcement. While DNA profiling is still considered to be fairly new , the analysis of the human
genetic variation began more than a century ago with the discovery of the human ABO blood group.
Karl Landsteiner realized that these variations in humans could be used to solve crimes. ABO could be
used to exclude suspects, but police needed something that could definitively point the finger at a
suspect. In 1984, Alec Jeffreys discovered hypervariable loci, also known as minisatellites. He
discovered that the

Affordable Lenses For Portrait Photography
Outline: 5 Affordable Lenses for Portrait Photography
Opener After my last post, there were comments that the cameras I referenced were pricey, and it s
true that as a photographer, you can end up spending as much, as barebones as you d like. To be sure,
you don t have to have expensive gear to take a great picture. With DSLR technology and lenses the
way they are, it s almost like a rebirth for people who specialize in portrait photography. Here are
some cameras I think are solid DSLRs that can take you as intimate with your subject as you want to
go, and leave you with immaculate portraits all under $600 (body only).
Nikon D3300 +/ $400
It s not the most expensive entry level DSLR, but it has one of the best sensors. These specs are
impressive considering this camera is around $400: APS C CMOS | Megapixels: 24.2MP | Lens
mount: Nikon DX | Screen: 3 inch, 921,000 dots | Continuous shooting speed: 5fps | Max video
resolution:1080p
Nikon D3400 replaced the Nikon D330, but the D3300 still performs just as good if not better. Why?
Unless you need improved connectivity, the D3300 is very similar to the D3400 and a lot more
affordable. The 24.2MP sensor resolves bags of detail and like much like pricier Nikon DSLRs, it does
away with an anti aliasing filter to maximise image sharpness. This is also a very easy camera to live
with. Its clever Guide Mode is a useful learning tool that gives real time explanations of important
features, whilst the collapsible 18 55mm kit

John Green Metaphors
In the novel Paper Towns by John Green, extended metaphors were used throughout the text to
explore the difference between appearance and reality. Green used separate extended metaphors to
name each part of the book. The first extended metaphor that was used to explore the difference
between appearance and reality was, The Strings. The strings are what holds us together as a person.
We know this as, when Margo and Quentin come across a man who killed himself, Margo said maybe
all the strings inside him broke. This shows how others can not see our strings, and if they are broken
or not, just by looking at us. No one saw this man s strings before he committed suicide because no
one obviously helped him repair his strings. This means ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This extended metaphor shows us how eventually our true selves will be revealed to everyone
eventually. We know this as Quentin says Like each of us starts out as a watertight vessel. And these
things happen these people leave us, or don t love us, or don t get us, or we don t get them, and we
lose and fail and hurt one another. And the vessel starts to crack open in places. And I mean, yeah,
once the vessel cracks open, the end becomes inevitable...But there is all this time between when the
cracks start to open up and when we finally fall apart. And it s only in that time that we can see each
other, because we see out of ourselves through our cracks and into others through theirs. This shows
us we can express a fake image of ourselves and no one will see out truth, like a water tight vessel that
no water can get into. Sometimes a storm will hit the vessel or it will hit a rock and put cracks in it,
making cracks and letting the water inside. Just like how we can hit rough patches in life and it forms
cracks in us, and then others around us can see through our cracks and see the truth inside us. Quentin
saw Margo as this amazing person who was perfect . However, she expressed that image when she
was a watertight vessel . But then some of her friends turned against her and her boyfriend cheated on
her, so she started to crack. And that is only when Quentin realised the real Margo. Green wanted us to
learn through this extended metaphor that anyone can make a fake image of themselves, but
eventually things are going to happen and the truth about ourselves will be revealed and that is just

The Between Religion And Music Essay
Music and religion are often intertwined, whether it be religious chanting or hymns used to worship.
However, in the case of Islam, the relationship between religion and music is more strained, as Islamic
law strictly forbids listening to music. However, there is a very strong religious debate on what
constitutes music as diversion and what is acceptable to use in worship and religious purposes. There
are two concepts in Islam which are relevant to this conversation: sama and ghina. The ghina is the
simpler of the two, referring to music and performance associated with secular art music; this is
normally banished. Ghina is the only genre which is referred to as music . The sama, on the other
hand, is more complex. Sama, which literally means listening and thus, includes the music being
listened to (as well as dance as performed by mystic societies) is more complex. The abundance of
writings about the sama is chiefly due to the debate surrounding the legality of music and dance from
a legal, mystical, and religious perspective. Some elements of music have been categorized as
acceptable sama by religious authorities, including Koran cantillation, singing of unaccompanied
hymns, old Bedouin songs, and simple functional folk songs used to mark events in a community or
individual s life, thus considering them to be non music .
Since the beginning of Islam, there has been disagreement on what is to be considered sama, with
religious leaders stances ranging from

Mount Vesuvius is located on the southern coast of Italy, 1,281 metres above the Bay of Naples on the
plain of Campania between the Apennine Mountains and the Tyrrhenian Sea. Mount Vesuvius is part
of the Romana volcanic belt which covers about 450km from Mount Amatia, 130km from north west
Rome and 110km from East Naples. The Romana volcanic belt is made up of two parallel volcanic
scars. Mount Vesuvius is on the Western arc. This zone is highly fractured which allows magma to rise
up into the magma chamber beneath Mount Vesuvius. This chamber is thought to be approximately
5km below the volcano and almost 2km high with a diameter of around 1km. The volcano is situated
where two faults in the Earth s crust converge. (De Boer and Sanders, 2002)
Development of Mount Vesuvius
Mount Vesuvius developed inside the caldera of an older volcano. This volcano was known as Monte
Somma. Monte Somma became active around 400,000 years ago. Only the northern side of Monte
Somma is left, creating a wall like ridge around the northern edge of Mount Vesuvius. This feature can
be observed today at the site of Mount Vesuvius. The development of Vesuvius produced a volcanic
complex consisting of the two volcanoes. (De Boer and Sanders, 2002)
Suggested Causes of the 79 AD Eruption
Mount Vesuvius is located on top of a fault where the lithosphere is being

Purpose Of Virginia Woolf
The author I have chosen is Virginia Woolf because I found her a very interesting woman. She is an
English author who wrote modernist classics and in 1915 she published her first novel called The
Voyage Out. She did not attend to the school, instead, she was taught at home; the first thing she
started to write was a family newspaper called the Hyde Park Gate News, in which she recorded all
the funny moments her family spent.
With the death of her mother, she went to King s College in London where she studied in German,
Greek and Latin at the Ladies Department. It was there where she became a radical feminist in terms
of educational reforms. In addition to the death of her mother, her father also died, and as a result she
was in a deep depression, which was the cause of her suicide in 1941.
Virginia Woolf got married to Leonard Woolf, and she went to the River Ouse s banks in North
Yorkshire, where she wrote a series of letters to him before she died. Those letters are a clear proof
that she suffered a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are proofs which say that Virginia Woolf s prose can be seen as a translation from the musical to
the literary; and as a consequence, the reader becomes a translator, a listener and a performer, and a
very act of reading a concert in which the novel resonates of a variety of voices, noises and discourses
[ Palusci, Oriana. Translating Virginia Woolf s Music , Translating Virginia Woolf, 2012 p.63]. In
addition to that, Kaman Brathwaite said that poetry is a form of music [ Pierpaolo Martino. Poetry is a
Form of Music . Intrevista a Kamau Brathwaite, con un saggio introductivo , Exodus. Studi sulla
letteratura anglo caraibica. Bari, Grahpis, 2009, p.119], so that is why Virginia Woolf s writings

Family And Medical Leave
Overview
As hard as it is to believe that the most free and together country isn t all that free and together the
United States of America has no government sponsored paid family or medical leave program. With
this little to no support from the government for people starting families, what is usually a happy and
exciting event for families can be turned into a tragic ultimatum, leaving parents with the decision of
whether they want to start a family or be able to pay their bills. In 1993, The Family and Medical
Leave Act began to guarantee employees up to 12 weeks unpaid leave, but due to a number of
exceptions, the FMLA only ended up covering about 60 percent of American workers with this
guarantee (Dusenbury). In addition to the tough

Comparison Of Gucci And Bape
The clothing brands, Gucci and BAPE, are two very well known brands. With both being heavy hitters
in contemporary fashion industry due to endorsement and references from popular figures in modern
media. They are both some of the most well established clothing brands with each having their own
unique appeal given to them, with each respective brand having a significant impact in some way,
shape, or form. Though the brands are very different in many ways they do have similarities; each
brand has a history behind them, has an impact in the fashion industry, and shows your social status.
First of all, both Gucci and Bape have a long history behind them. Gucci was a brand that started off
in Florence, Italy that started off due a man named Guccio Gucci. When he was working at a hotel in
Paris he observed the guests walk in with beautiful leather luggage. He returned to his hometown of
Florence with the idea of making high quality leather goods. While BAPE started off much later and
differently. The founder, Nigo, had just finished his Fashion Major for college and decided to start a
fashion company. He borrowed four million yen from an acquaintance along with using his shop for
early printing. Nigo s first shop nowhere was the precursor to BAPE, and when it came to decide on a
name for the brand he decided to use Planet of The Apes for inspiration. The name Bathing Ape,
shortened to BAPE, is supposed to mean An Ape Bathing In Lukewarm Water . There are similarities

The Right And Bear Arms
Christal Blege
April 23, 2015
Professor Swint.
The right to bear arms? Our second amendment right is something that I feel that most Americans
would go to war over. I never grew up around guns, I have never held a gun, or discharged a gun.
More importantly, I have never used a gun to protect me, my property or my family. This is why I fail
to see the fascination people have with the right to own a gun, especially military grade firearms like
assault rifles. Assault rifles were designed to kill people and have no legitimate civilian purpose.
(Infobased Learning 2008) So why then is ok for every ordinary Joe over the age of 21 with a permit
to own one. Statistically speaking one in every three people in the U.S. own at least one firearm, and
of those 48% own four or more firearms. In the past 40 years the percentage of gun ownership has
gone from forty seven percent to thirty four percent. But guns do serve other purposes like protection
and safety.
When having a conversation about gun rights it is clear that it veers towards American standards and
values. It comes back to a very basic question, how big of a role should the government have in our
everyday lives. We put our faith in our justice system most of the time. So when the highest court in
the land gets together and debates and interprets the second amendment to mean that the individual
has the right to own guns, we shouldn t debate it. another argument that gun control supporters use is
,with stricter gun

How Did Robert Oppenheimer Contribute To Mass Destruction
Robert Oppenheimer
I am death, destroyer of worlds, (Robert Oppenheimer). Throughout history, there has been many
inventions that have been created to kill people more efficiently. The broadsword, the bow and arrow,
the crossbow, the musket, the automatic weapon, the tank and the plane are all examples of how man
has used innovation to improve our ability to defeat one s enemy. Perhaps the most significant
invention of all is the atomic bomb. Robert Oppenheimer created a revolutionary new weapon,
innovated a new scientific technology that no one had ever dreamed of before and illuminated the
world to the horrors of these weapons of mass destruction. During World War Ⅱ Albert Einstein wrote
to the U.S. President telling him to create an

Rabbit Stereotypes
With this new year, I am taking the oppertunity to become a better begginer. I decided that if the rabbit
hobby is truly for me, I should probably learn how to become good at it. It s not like I don t know how
to breed or how to show, my struggles are more caused by my of lack of self discipline than lack of
skill. I need to put what I have learned these last three years into good use, by being more observant,
open minded, and organized. I will be completly honest with you, this last year has been an extremly
difficult one for me and my animals. This was the year I decided to move out of my mothers house,
and into my boyfriends. I love my mother and family very much, but we argued so often I feared our

Warning if you have not seen all of Grey s Anatomy I recommend not reading this. I could tell you
everything there is to know about greys and I plan to. I had heard about grey s in 6th grade so I
decided to try it. It was hands down the best show ever. It roped me in and got me so interested. I
caught on to the cast and all of the relationships by the first 3 episodes. There were scenes that made
my heart stop and I couldn t take my eyes off. Then the next few seasons started to hit. I couldn t even
count on one hand how many deaths and people that had left in those seasons. And then the crying. I

Symptoms And Symptoms Of Premenstrual Syndrome
Chiagozie Harry Okeke Psych 236 02: Psychology of Women Prof. Edna Pressler, Ph.D. Report 2
October 23, 2016 Get Involved 7.1 (Menstrual symptoms) Premenstrual syndrome (PMS), are
symptoms that comes with severe pains, one to two weeks before one s period starts. In addition, most
women have at least some symptoms of PMS, and the symptoms go away after their period s starts.
For some women, the symptoms seem to be very severe enough to affect their lives, and this is
referred as PMS is called premenstrual dysphoric disorder or PMDD. Therefore, I will focus on the
meaning of menstruation, cycle, symptoms, methods, treatments and also to address these questions
from the text; (1) Did individuals who completed the menstrual joy part first report less menstrual
distress than those who completed the menstrual distress part? If so, why? (2) Why do you think some
women have more positive feelings than others before and during their menstrual periods? (3) Why
have the negative aspects of menstruation been emphasized much more than the positive periods? (4)
What might be done to focus more on the positive side of menstruation? ( Etaugh Bridges, 2013,
Pg.147 ). Menstruation according to ( Etaugh Bridges, 2013, Pg.144 ) involves the release of mature
egg or ovum from its surroundings capsule or follicle. However, this cycle comes in four phases,

Horse Breeding Research Paper
During breeding season which lasts from February until July, is where I learned the most out of all the
things we do. Everything we did was a learning process for me. First we would collect the stallion, a
stallion is a male horse. My job was to go get the stallion from the other barn. My first time I walked
over I was biting at my fingernails. Stallions are a lot more aggressive, but once I got to him into the
barn I felt relieved. I hooked the horse up to a post while I went to get the AV ready. The AV is like a
rubber sling, that is filled with hot water. Once that is done, I put the AV into the phantom. The
phantom is made to look and feel like a real female horse for the stallion. The process finally begins
when you untie the stallion, he pretty much runs the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once the stallion is done on the phantom I take the AV back out of the phantom and take it into our
lab. While my grandmother puts the horse away. I take the semen into the lab where I make sure it is
good enough to breed a mare with. The first thing I do is put a sample under the micro scope. I look to
make sure they are in good shape because there is no reason in trying to breed with dead sperm. Once
I see that there is enough moving I put it into a machine that counts the amount of sperm. The number
has to be above 150 to even be worth using, and 300 is the best we have ever gotten. By this time my
grandmother comes in to help me do the math calculations. We mix the semen with extender, which is
what the semen feeds off of. After this I go get the mare and put her in the stocks to keep her from
kicking anyone. My job was to clean the mare out so no manure was in the way when my
grandmother goes in with a probe to look around. Then my grandmother looks on each ovary to see if
the mare is in heat. When the mare is in heat, my grandmother leaves the rest to me, while she moves
on to the next horse in

Personal Statement On Massage Green Spa
Three days before I voluntarily resigned my position from Massage Green Spa, there was an incident
that took place, which resulted in my lack of trust from the organization. When I was working for
Massage Green Spa, I usually was one of the therapists that close on Sunday nights. Forty five
minutes prior to closing, I did not have a massage scheduled, so I decided to clean the bathrooms in
preparation for closing. Halfway through the cleaning, I was interrupted by the receptionist to notify
me that we had a last minute walk inn. I expressed my frustration that the client will only have time
for twenty five minutes and I am not prepared to massage someone after just handling cleaning
chemicals. I stopped what I was doing and went up front to explain to the client that I cannot do a full
body massage in twenty five minutes. The male client express that he did not care and that he would
leave a nasty yelp review. I took the client back to the massage room and told him to lay face down
under the sheets. When I entered the room to start the massage, the man was laying naked face up on
top of the sheets. As I was getting him covered with a blanket, I stressed to him that he needs to
remain covered and draped. Once I started the session, he made an attempt to grab and touch me
inappropriately. I told him that the session is now over; this behavior is not okay at this establishment.
I left the room and stormed upfront to tell the receptionist what had just happened. I immediately

Dumbledore Propaganda Essay
Dumbledore is currently three percentage points behind in the polls. Therefore, a plan to gain him
more support has been devised to propel him to the lead. Dumbledore is a gentle, unique, and brilliant
man, an innovative thinker who freely voices his opinion, and a great leader. He is the headmaster of
Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, founder and leader of the Order of the Phoenix, a Grand
Sorcerer decorated with the Order of Merlin, First Class; also Supreme Mugwump of the International
Confederation of Wizards and Chief Warlock of the Wizengamot. Thus, it is anticipated that the
propaganda techniques listed below will emphasize these traits to promote Dumbledore, and have a
positive and significant impact on his poll results. Through stacking the deck, appeal to emotions, and
red herring, Dumbledore will take the lead in future polls. The first and most important propaganda
technique ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are $300,000 to spend on appeal to emotions. Appeal to emotions will be used in all kinds of
campaign ads (ads in the internet, television, radio, etc.) to emphasize that Dumbledore is a wise, kind,
loving, and forgiving man. Once again, appeal to emotions must be used in appropriate amounts just
like stacking the deck so that Dumbledore does not seem like an affectatious person. For example,
showing the audience that Dumbledore can change the country can give voters hope and possibly
persuade them to vote for Dumbledore. Dumbledore is a marvelous person who is wise and kind. Ergo
there will be many places where appeal to emotions can be used. Consequently, voters will for sure be
touched and trust Dumbledore in leading their country. Accordingly, Dumbledore will acquire more
votes if appeal to emotions was used in his campaign ads. In brief, appeal to emotions can increase
votes for Dumbledore by putting emphasis on his positive traits and showing that he can change this

The Heterogeneity Of India
All the convergent influences of the world run through this society:
Hindu,Moslem,Christian, secular;Stanlist, liberal,Maoist, democratic socialist, Gandhian. There is not a
thought that is being thought in the West or East that is not active in some Indian mind. E.P.Thompson
The singular thing about India is that you can only speak of it in the plural says Shashi Tharoor. Also,
Amartya Sen in his Magnum Opus The Argumentative Indians talks about the pluralist and tolerant
culture of India. The heterogeneity of India is ,beyond dispute, a source of immense pride for Indians.
Although is there a single definition which encapsulates what is meant by Indians; is can still, and
quite rightly, be disputed. This makes us unique among nations. India is a diverse not only in historical
sense, but also in its geographical sense and both are indissolubly linked to each other. ... Show more

Systems Theory Approach To Quality Care
Systems Theory Approach to Quality Care and Improved Patient Outcomes
Systems are developed in organizations to create linear direction for staff and leadership to follow.
Without policies and procedures, the result would be chaos. In respect to health care institutions,
systems provide a safety net for nurses and patients. The purpose of this paper is to review systems
theory and how open systems can help organizations reach goals, meet standards of care and improve
patient outcomes.

Nurses should also empower patients to ask questions and learn how to be an advocate for themselves
(Seale et al., 2015). A patient may be reluctant to ask a physician to wash their hands due to fear of
offending or repercussions to their health care (Seale et al., 2015). A nurse knows this is best practice,
and patients should be collaborators with physicians and their healthcare worker (Seale et al., 2015).
Alignment with Mission, Vision, and Values
Ohio State University s mission statement states they are driven to improve lives with innovation in
education, patient care and research (www.osumc.edu). Being innovators consists of education of staff
and patients. The step down unit has numerous posters, brochures, education materials and educators
that work with patients at the admission, inpatient and discharge processes throughout their
hospitalization. Core values of serving diverse populations, being accountable, seeking excellence
through collaboration and research helps to develop trust within the community (www.osumc.edu).
This statement does align with the goals to decrease HAI s. Research into cures, education of staff,

  • 2. Suppressed Darkness On The Medieval Mind Map Suppressed Darkness on the Medieval Mind Map William Manchester s A World Lit Only By Fire: The Medieval Mind and the Renaissance unveils an in depth look at the Late Medieval Ages in Europe and touches upon the Renaissance. It is most well known as the time period that occurred after the fall of the Roman Empire when the eastern world seemed to have plummeted into an age of regression and darkness. Manchester s central proposition was The power of the medieval mind had been irrevocably broken (295). The dimensions of the medieval mind were cloaked from the outside world and suppressed by the ever powerful dogmas of the Catholic Church, for there was no room for doubt; the possibility of skepticism simply did not exist (20). At the same time, a new era was rising in Europe, accompanied by an increasing rate in literacy, new innovations, the printing press, powerful political figures, and the appraisals of the Catholic Church. A new cultural movement began to appear, known as the Renaissance, and the darkness of the medieval mind map was forever shattered, to remain a pale illusion. Humanists, such as Sir Thomas More and Desiderius Erasmus, and inventors and explorers such as Leonardo Da Vinci, Nicolas Copernicus, and Ferdinand Magellan guided the way to a new ideology of independent thinking. Following the campaign of upcoming thinkers, movements, and changes that would turn people s blind eye, Manchester concluded his point with the tale of Magellan s heroic ... • 3. Christian Fellowship Have Heard Of Evangelism Essay Many within the Christian fellowship have heard of evangelism. Nevertheless, it is not at all surprising that many aren t quite familiar with the true definition of the term. Furthermore, there are many Christians whom would consider themselves to be faithful and committed followers of Christ who obey and believe the Word of God with a testimony that reveals that they are being the best servant that he or she can be towards the risen Savior. Often times, Christians lead their lives without much consideration about sharing the gospel with anyone other than their immediate family members or close friends. Event then, Christians aren t too sure of what they should say or how it should be said. Christians have become extremely sensitive of not offending another individual when it comes to the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is often considered that evangelism is the responsibility of the senior pastor and staff ministers. Sometimes our problem may be any one of a long list of excuses. Perhaps we don t know the gospel well enough or we don t think we do. Maybe we think it s someone else s job, the work of a minister or a missionary (Dever, 2007, p. 16). Dever asks the question, What is the gospel (Dever, 2007, p. 31)? For Christians who have been saved for any good length of time, the gospel is commonly known as the good news of the Lord Jesus Christ being full of love and compassion, who was born to a virgin mother in a manger who came to save a dying world from their ... • 4. Ratio and Financial Statement Analysis Essay Executive Summary This paper examines financial ratio analysis by defining, the three groups of stakeholders that use financial ratios, the five different kinds of ratios used and their applications, the analytical tools used in analysis, and finally financial ratio analysis limitations and benefits. The paper illustrates that financial ratio analysis is an important tool for firm s to evaluate their financial health in order to identify areas of weakness so as to institute corrective measures. While financial ratio analysis does contain limitations that include little theory to guide them as well as the use of accounting data based on historical costs that may not reflect a firm s true economic conditions, it is an excellent tool ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One is Working capital to total assets ratio that measures a firm s ability to pay off its short term liabilities and is calculated by subtracting current liabilities from current assets divided by total assets. The retained earnings to total assets ratio that measures a firm s use of its total asset base to generate earnings is also used. It is important to note that retained earnings can be easily manipulated distorting the final calculation. The third financial ratio used by the Z score formula is the market value of equity to book value of debt. This is the inverse of the debt to equity ratio, and it shows the amount a firm s assets can decline in value before liabilities exceed assets. For closely held firms, stockholders equity or total assets less total liabilities can be used but this amount has not been statistically verified for purposes of the formula. The sale to total assets ratio that measures a firm s ability to generate sales with its asset base is also used. The fifth financial ratio is the operating income to total assets. This ratio is the most important factor in the formula because its profit that eventually makes or breaks a firm. In calculating the Z score, each of these ratios is given a weight factor that is used within the formula. (IOMA s report, 2003). See appendix I for the Z score formula and how to interpret the results obtained. The Z score is used by firms when running regular financial data and firms use it to spot ... • 5. Spotted Owl, Flying Squirrel, Truffle Symbiosis Throughout the world there are many animals, plants, fungi and numerous other living organisms that are influenced by the overall condition or adaptations of other organisms. Whether it is a symbiotic relationship or a predator/prey relationship there are many ways in which animals and other living organisms operate and live; both dependent on others and their own adaptations. The point is that there are many relationships that provide a basis and means for the survival of a variety of different species around the world. This relationship is very apparent in the scientific findings regarding northern spotted owls (Strix Occidentalis), flying squirrels (Glaucomys Sabrinus), and truffles, which can include many varieties but especially Tuber ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Unlike many other rodents the flying squirrel does not hibernate. Instead they group together during the winter and cold month s to maintain warmth. Northern flying squirrels usually communicate with a soft low chirp but also cluck just like other squirrels when distressed. These squirrels also use scent and touch to communicate with one another; utilizing their excellent senses of hearing, smell, vision, and touch to correspond with the signals they emanate. A major food source for the squirrels are mycorrhizal fungi (truffles) of many different species, though they also eat lichens, mushrooms, all mast crop nuts, tree sap, insects, carrion, bird eggs and nestlings, buds and flowers. The squirrels are special in that they can find truffles by olfaction, which is the use of smell. They also seem to use clues such as the presence of wood debris, indicating a decaying log, and spatial memory of locations where truffles were found in the past. The northern flying squirrel is also known to stash food for when food supplies are lower such as in the winter. These caches can be in cavities in trees, as well as in the squirrels nest, or even within the ground. Lichens and seeds are the commonly stored items (9). Yet in this relationship the most important functions of this squirrel are to provide food for the owls, and in addition, to greatly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. A Modest Proposal Rhetorical Analysis During the late seventeenth century, political pamphlets were distributed throughout Ireland to promote the ideas of various intellectuals and laymen. However, many discarded them and did not pay attention to them. Jonathan Swift, author of A Modest Proposal, takes lead for these unnoticed pamphlets and builds a proposal he thinks would help Ireland economy. A Modest Proposal is an ironic example that presents the attitude of rich towards poor and their starving kids. Jonathan uses various elements like metaphors, repetitions, irony and parallelism to focus on destructive defiance of the writing. Jonathan swift starts by blaming the mothers of these children that they should start working and get some earning to support these kids. He also foretells the future of these children that they will turn into thieves or sell themselves to foreign countries for money. According to Swift, it is just because the parents did not train their children the unassertive way of life and could not give them a proper lifestyle. In A Modest Proposal Jonathan Swift does not blame the shortcomings of Ireland on the people. He says that the people, politicians, and English were all to be at fault for the terrible state and poverty of Ireland. there are three factors that make Swift s argument not serious: the tone of the author, his insincerity, and ridiculousness of the proposal. Swift states that because these women kept having children and could not provide food to them, the economy of Ireland and standard of living couldn t improve. So, he makes a proposal to the public that he thinks would be beneficial for them. His way of thinking and argument is incorrect in what he is proposing as He marks that young healthy children are delicious food to be roasted, stewed and boiled to be served and eaten by rich British people. Similarly, he estimates that twenty thousand kids should be held in reserve for breeding purposes. This brutalizes how children should be treated like animals. Jonathan swift trying to support his argument, in a very sarcastic way states that certain body parts of children are good to eat and on special occasions could be held on demand. furthermore, he advises that healthy and nourished kids could be ... Tweeter had grown from a 13 store chain with $35 million in annual sales in 1991 to a 21 store chain with $82 million in annual sales in 1996. Bloomberg had always attributed part of this growth to Tweeter s Automatic Price Protection policy, which had been implemented in 1993. • 9. Comparing The Gregorian Calendar And The Mayan Calendar Since the beginning, people have created calendars for order and to value life. Calendars have provided us a reference for measuring the passage of time throughout our existence. They have evolved from picking up more information from other ideas and ancient cultures. These include the Egyptian calendar, the Gregorian calendar (the one we use today) and the Mayan calendar. Historically, the creation of a calendar that provides both a satisfactory representation of time and practical value for the ordering of life has proved a vexing problem. Such problems began with the length of the day, the basic division of calendrical time. Technical difficulties associated with measuring time on Earth and ignorance of the true structure of the solar system ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The origins of the calendar in the West can be traced to the astronomical reckoning of the ancient Egyptians, who devised a system based upon a year of 360 days with an additional five day intercalation. This system was then adopted by the Romans in 45 bc to replace their flawed calendar. Forwarded by Julius Caesar under the advisement of the astronomer Sosigenes, the Julian Reform called for an abandonment of lunation and for reliance on a completely solar calendar. The resulting discrepancy produced significant conflicts between calendar dates and the observable seasons over the course of the ensuing centuries. Nevertheless, the new system proved vastly superior to its predecessor. It was accepted throughout the Roman world, and in 325 ad made the official doctrine of Christendom by the first Council of Nicea. The system instituted the leap year, adding one day to the calendar every four years, but even with the leap year fix it was unsatisfactory the Julian year was still 11 minutes and 14 seconds longer than the tropical ... I just wanted to learn sign language, so I did what many twenty first century millennials do and downloaded an app. The app showed me diagrams to learn basic phrases, videos to perfect the movements, and lessons to learn more efficiently. The technology of the app made learning sign language easy, and I could use it wherever I went. I thought that I was smart for using technology to learn specific things, but Mark Bauerlein, the author of a 2008 book called The Dumbest Generation, would disagree. According to Bauerlein, twenty first century teenagers possess low knowledge levels when compared to past generations because of the increased use of technology. However, Bauerlein is mistaken. This generation is not the dumbest generation because we focus on different topics, we write more often, and we know that every generation has been called the dumbest . Every generation is different, and the information that is commonly learned in each generation is affected by the events surrounding that time period. As stated in The Dumbest Generation? Forgiveness means to pardon or spare. In Greek it means to send forth, put away, and yield up. The other meaning is to give up the desire to punish or to cancel a debt. Jesus gave us the sacrament of Reconciliation. We were granted this sacrament so whenever we turn away from God we have the choice of asking forgiveness so we can be reunited with Him. The four steps in the sacrament of Reconciliation are confession, contrition, penance, and absolution. The first step is confession which allows people to reunite with God by admitting their sins. After he fasted he dragged around his armor and sword symbolizing his faults in his former job. He climbed the waterfall with his luggage and also climbed a mountain. He realized that he had done many wrongs in his life by being a slave trader and a mercenary. He knew that he couldn t have an easy penance. He became upset when Father Gabriel cut off his pack full of armor because he knew that Father Gabriel was not the person he was asking forgiveness from. After doing his penance the only step left was absolution. The weird thing about it was that he didn t let Father Gabriel give him the absolution. He wanted a member of the Indian tribe to absolve him. This was the same tribe who he enslaved and killed their people. One day while climbing the mountain a young Indian boy came and cut the pack and threw it into the water. The weight was lifted off of his back after he had been forgiven. Rodrigo did want a new chance at life. The way he was granted this was through Reconciliation. His had led a life of violence. All he really knew was fighting and capturing Indians for slavery. Targeted and geographical marketing is like a fine science now (much more precise) and businesses are reaching places they never thought possible. Search engines, social media, and blogging are the common place to promote services and products. The gateway to searching for your business is with the usage of a search engine. When you think of an item that you would like to purchase you type into the search engine those key words . Dna Profiling And The Criminal Justice System In November of 1983, 15 year old Lynda Mann was found raped and murdered on a deserted road, and although police were able to obtain a semen sample from her murderer the case remained unsolved. In 1986 the killer struck again murdering 15 year old Dawn Ashworth, once again leaving behind semen, but this time the police were able to use DNA profiling to match the semen to a suspect. Colin Pitchfork became the first person to be caught based on mass DNA screening, and the first to be convicted based on DNA profiling. The use of Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) in the criminal justice system has greatly tipped the scales in favor of law enforcement, and changed the world that we live in. Court cases that in the past relied heavily on eye witness testimony and circumstantial evidence now have science to back them up. DNA analysis has revolutionized the criminal justice system, and even though there are some flaws, the use of DNA evidence should continue to be used by law enforcement. While DNA profiling is still considered to be fairly new , the analysis of the human genetic variation began more than a century ago with the discovery of the human ABO blood group. Karl Landsteiner realized that these variations in humans could be used to solve crimes. Affordable Lenses For Portrait Photography Outline: 5 Affordable Lenses for Portrait Photography Opener After my last post, there were comments that the cameras I referenced were pricey, and it s true that as a photographer, you can end up spending as much, as barebones as you d like. To be sure, you don t have to have expensive gear to take a great picture. With DSLR technology and lenses the way they are, it s almost like a rebirth for people who specialize in portrait photography. Here are some cameras I think are solid DSLRs that can take you as intimate with your subject as you want to go, and leave you with immaculate portraits all under $600 (body only). Nikon D3300 +/ $400 It s not the most expensive entry level DSLR, but it has one of the best sensors. These specs are impressive considering this camera is around $400: APS C CMOS | Megapixels: 24.2MP | Lens mount: Nikon DX | Screen: 3 inch, 921,000 dots | Continuous shooting speed: 5fps | Max video resolution:1080p Nikon D3400 replaced the Nikon D330, but the D3300 still performs just as good if not better. Why? Unless you need improved connectivity, the D3300 is very similar to the D3400 and a lot more affordable. The 24.2MP sensor resolves bags of detail and like much like pricier Nikon DSLRs, it does away with an anti aliasing filter to maximise image sharpness. This is also a very easy camera to live with. Its clever Guide Mode is a useful learning tool that gives real time explanations of important features, whilst the collapsible 18 55mm kit ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 20. John Green Metaphors In the novel Paper Towns by John Green, extended metaphors were used throughout the text to explore the difference between appearance and reality. Green used separate extended metaphors to name each part of the book. The first extended metaphor that was used to explore the difference between appearance and reality was, The Strings. The strings are what holds us together as a person. We know this as, when Margo and Quentin come across a man who killed himself, Margo said maybe all the strings inside him broke. This shows how others can not see our strings, and if they are broken or not, just by looking at us. No one saw this man s strings before he committed suicide because no one obviously helped him repair his strings. This means ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This extended metaphor shows us how eventually our true selves will be revealed to everyone eventually. We know this as Quentin says Like each of us starts out as a watertight vessel. And these things happen these people leave us, or don t love us, or don t get us, or we don t get them, and we lose and fail and hurt one another. And the vessel starts to crack open in places. And I mean, yeah, once the vessel cracks open, the end becomes inevitable...But there is all this time between when the cracks start to open up and when we finally fall apart. And it s only in that time that we can see each other, because we see out of ourselves through our cracks and into others through theirs. This shows us we can express a fake image of ourselves and no one will see out truth, like a water tight vessel that no water can get into. Sometimes a storm will hit the vessel or it will hit a rock and put cracks in it, making cracks and letting the water inside. Just like how we can hit rough patches in life and it forms cracks in us, and then others around us can see through our cracks and see the truth inside us. Quentin saw Margo as this amazing person who was perfect . However, she expressed that image when she was a watertight vessel . But then some of her friends turned against her and her boyfriend cheated on her, so she started to crack. And that is only when Quentin realised the real Margo. Green wanted us to learn through this extended metaphor that anyone can make a fake image of themselves, but eventually things are going to happen and the truth about ourselves will be revealed and that is just ... • 21. The Between Religion And Music Essay Music and religion are often intertwined, whether it be religious chanting or hymns used to worship. However, in the case of Islam, the relationship between religion and music is more strained, as Islamic law strictly forbids listening to music. However, there is a very strong religious debate on what constitutes music as diversion and what is acceptable to use in worship and religious purposes. There are two concepts in Islam which are relevant to this conversation: sama and ghina. The ghina is the simpler of the two, referring to music and performance associated with secular art music; this is normally banished. Ghina is the only genre which is referred to as music . The sama, on the other hand, is more complex. Sama, which literally means listening and thus, includes the music being listened to (as well as dance as performed by mystic societies) is more complex. The abundance of writings about the sama is chiefly due to the debate surrounding the legality of music and dance from a legal, mystical, and religious perspective. Some elements of music have been categorized as acceptable sama by religious authorities, including Koran cantillation, singing of unaccompanied hymns, old Bedouin songs, and simple functional folk songs used to mark events in a community or individual s life, thus considering them to be non music . Since the beginning of Islam, there has been disagreement on what is to be considered sama, with religious leaders stances ranging from ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Romana volcanic belt is made up of two parallel volcanic scars. Mount Vesuvius is on the Western arc. This zone is highly fractured which allows magma to rise up into the magma chamber beneath Mount Vesuvius. This chamber is thought to be approximately 5km below the volcano and almost 2km high with a diameter of around 1km. The volcano is situated where two faults in the Earth s crust converge. (De Boer and Sanders, 2002) Development of Mount Vesuvius Mount Vesuvius developed inside the caldera of an older volcano. This volcano was known as Monte Somma. Monte Somma became active around 400,000 years ago. Only the northern side of Monte Somma is left, creating a wall like ridge around the northern edge of Mount Vesuvius. This feature can be observed today at the site of Mount Vesuvius. The development of Vesuvius produced a volcanic complex consisting of the two volcanoes. (De Boer and Sanders, 2002) Suggested Causes of the 79 AD Eruption Mount Vesuvius is located on top of a fault where the lithosphere is being ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 23. Purpose Of Virginia Woolf The author I have chosen is Virginia Woolf because I found her a very interesting woman. She is an English author who wrote modernist classics and in 1915 she published her first novel called The Voyage Out. She did not attend to the school, instead, she was taught at home; the first thing she started to write was a family newspaper called the Hyde Park Gate News, in which she recorded all the funny moments her family spent. With the death of her mother, she went to King s College in London where she studied in German, Greek and Latin at the Ladies Department. It was there where she became a radical feminist in terms of educational reforms. In addition to the death of her mother, her father also died, and as a result she was in a deep depression, which was the cause of her suicide in 1941. Virginia Woolf got married to Leonard Woolf, and she went to the River Ouse s banks in North Yorkshire, where she wrote a series of letters to him before she died. Those letters are a clear proof that she suffered a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Translating Virginia Woolf s Music , Translating Virginia Woolf, 2012 p.63]. In addition to that, Kaman Brathwaite said that poetry is a form of music [ Pierpaolo Martino. Poetry is a Form of Music . Family And Medical Leave Overview As hard as it is to believe that the most free and together country isn t all that free and together the United States of America has no government sponsored paid family or medical leave program. With this little to no support from the government for people starting families, what is usually a happy and exciting event for families can be turned into a tragic ultimatum, leaving parents with the decision of whether they want to start a family or be able to pay their bills. In 1993, The Family and Medical Leave Act began to guarantee employees up to 12 weeks unpaid leave, but due to a number of exceptions, the FMLA only ended up covering about 60 percent of American workers with this guarantee (Dusenbury). • 25. Comparison Of Gucci And Bape The clothing brands, Gucci and BAPE, are two very well known brands. With both being heavy hitters in contemporary fashion industry due to endorsement and references from popular figures in modern media. They are both some of the most well established clothing brands with each having their own unique appeal given to them, with each respective brand having a significant impact in some way, shape, or form. Though the brands are very different in many ways they do have similarities; each brand has a history behind them, has an impact in the fashion industry, and shows your social status. First of all, both Gucci and Bape have a long history behind them. Gucci was a brand that started off in Florence, Italy that started off due a man named Guccio Gucci. • 26. The Right And Bear Arms Christal Blege April 23, 2015 Professor Swint. The right to bear arms? Our second amendment right is something that I feel that most Americans would go to war over. I never grew up around guns, I have never held a gun, or discharged a gun. More importantly, I have never used a gun to protect me, my property or my family. This is why I fail to see the fascination people have with the right to own a gun, especially military grade firearms like assault rifles. Assault rifles were designed to kill people and have no legitimate civilian purpose. (Infobased Learning 2008) So why then is ok for every ordinary Joe over the age of 21 with a permit to own one. Statistically speaking one in every three people in the U.S. own at least one firearm, and of those 48% own four or more firearms. In the past 40 years the percentage of gun ownership has gone from forty seven percent to thirty four percent. But guns do serve other purposes like protection and safety. When having a conversation about gun rights it is clear that it veers towards American standards and values. It comes back to a very basic question, how big of a role should the government have in our everyday lives. We put our faith in our justice system most of the time. So when the highest court in the land gets together and debates and interprets the second amendment to mean that the individual has the right to own guns, we shouldn t debate it. another argument that gun control supporters use is ,with stricter gun ... Everything we did was a learning process for me. First we would collect the stallion, a stallion is a male horse. My job was to go get the stallion from the other barn. My first time I walked over I was biting at my fingernails. Stallions are a lot more aggressive, but once I got to him into the barn I felt relieved. I hooked the horse up to a post while I went to get the AV ready. The AV is like a rubber sling, that is filled with hot water. Once that is done, I put the AV into the phantom. The phantom is made to look and feel like a real female horse for the stallion. The process finally begins when you untie the stallion, he pretty much runs the ... I look to make sure they are in good shape because there is no reason in trying to breed with dead sperm. Once I see that there is enough moving I put it into a machine that counts the amount of sperm. The number has to be above 150 to even be worth using, and 300 is the best we have ever gotten. By this time my grandmother comes in to help me do the math calculations. We mix the semen with extender, which is what the semen feeds off of. After this I go get the mare and put her in the stocks to keep her from kicking anyone. My job was to clean the mare out so no manure was in the way when my grandmother goes in with a probe to look around. Then my grandmother looks on each ovary to see if the mare is in heat. • 32. Personal Statement On Massage Green Spa Three days before I voluntarily resigned my position from Massage Green Spa, there was an incident that took place, which resulted in my lack of trust from the organization. When I was working for Massage Green Spa, I usually was one of the therapists that close on Sunday nights. Forty five minutes prior to closing, I did not have a massage scheduled, so I decided to clean the bathrooms in preparation for closing. Halfway through the cleaning, I was interrupted by the receptionist to notify me that we had a last minute walk inn. I expressed my frustration that the client will only have time for twenty five minutes and I am not prepared to massage someone after just handling cleaning chemicals. I stopped what I was doing and went up front to explain to the client that I cannot do a full body massage in twenty five minutes. The male client express that he did not care and that he would leave a nasty yelp review. I took the client back to the massage room and told him to lay face down under the sheets. When I entered the room to start the massage, the man was laying naked face up on top of the sheets. As I was getting him covered with a blanket, I stressed to him that he needs to remain covered and draped. Once I started the session, he made an attempt to grab and touch me inappropriately. I told him that the session is now over; this behavior is not okay at this establishment. I left the room and stormed upfront to tell the receptionist what had just happened. I immediately ... For example, showing the audience that Dumbledore can change the country can give voters hope and possibly persuade them to vote for Dumbledore. Dumbledore is a marvelous person who is wise and kind. Ergo there will be many places where appeal to emotions can be used. Consequently, voters will for sure be touched and trust Dumbledore in leading their country. Accordingly, Dumbledore will acquire more votes if appeal to emotions was used in his campaign ads.
