A Summary OfThe Rapture And The Book Of Revelation
In K. Essex s article aptly named, The Rapture and the Book of Revelation, Essex outlines four
promising facts regarding Revelation 3:10. He states,
First, this promise applies not only to one local assembly existing in the days of the apostle John but to
the entire church of Jesus Christ. The constant refrain in all seven messages from Christ to these
churches is He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. Second, the trial
which is coming is not local, but is about to come upon the whole world. The persecutions of the past
were usually limited to one country or area. This trial must refer to the tribulation to come when all the
world will be amazed and follow after the beast (13:3), and all who worship him will come under the
wrath of God. Third, those who dwell on the earth is not a suitable description for the members of the
church. Fourth, the grammar of τηρέω εκ (tereö ek), though not conclusive, favors removal from the
hour of trial.
Not only does Essex, much like Svigel and I touch on the Greek origins of Rev 3:10, but he also picks
apart the logic behind the trials coming about the whole earth. It is not local to one area, it will be
meant for everyone left on the planet key word: left. Thusly, the whole church will have heard the
Word from the Great Advocate by this time. Those who accepted and followed Christ would have
been lifted into the air and taken up with Christ. Essex also points out the scripture that follows after

What Are The Pros And Cons Of State
PROS AND CONS OF ANY STATE LEVEL POLICY (500)
The State in modern times is seen more as an enemy of the people then its agent, but it still retains
many qualities that allowed the development of the modern world we live in. This chapter provides
the main benefits of using the State as an agent for development as well as the negative sides.
The main advantage of the State is hold up in its most basic concept, the State as a collective agent of
its people (Parsons, 1949) that uses the power and capital of its individual citizens to promote and
finance change on a bigger scale. Its main advantages in this case are its size, capital and legitimacy.
Starting with capital, the state apparatus is huge (Niskanen, 1971), no matter it being a minimal ...

And as peoples trust in the State to fulfil its tasks dwindles, so does the States power to provide those
services (ibid.). But from a development perspective things are a bit different. Most problems in
delivering services to citizens are financial in nature (Greve, 2012), but where a lack of funds might
stop State led development, it is not detrimental to the State as an agent of it. For what is perceived
good development practice there is always international funding (for example McGrath, 2015,
Worldbank.org, 2015, Undp.org, 2015). This paper does not go into the debate of is good development
practice good or not it takes internationally sponsored and promoted development practice as
implicitly good. And for the sake of argumentation on is the State a good or bad agent of development
it does not matter what kind of development it promotes. So this good development is taken as the one
we want our states to be agents to. And the State relying on foreign sources of funding development
practice when it lacks state funds for development might be positive. To clarify, a state that runs a
budget deficit does not have the monetary power to start development policy. This allows for the
internationally funded and tried out development practice to become the only development practice a
state can enforce (finance), because it can fund it from external sources such as donations,

Negative Effects Of Cosmetic Surgery On Society
Cosmetic surgery is used to restore, recreate, or modification of the human body. Over 4000 years ago
reports of cosmetic surgery trends ended the region. The first report of surgery was done in India by an
Indian doctor. Later, these reports progressed in different parts of the world. However, in 1916, world
war soldier and sailor Walter Yao suffered terrible facial injuries, including the loss of his upper and
lower eyelids. By 1917, he received treatment from Sir Harold Gillies and became the first man to use
the skin to replace damaged or remove extra skin. Later, Sir Harold Gillies became known as the
father of plastic surgery, thus impacting the world for years to come. Although cosmetic surgery is
used for restoration of self esteem and to fix health issues; but it is known to have a negative impact
on society because there are issues with many obsessions, with various complications for exceptions,
and the importance of cost.
Becoming beautiful has been one of the topmost objective people sought throughout the centuries;
from plants to injections, from dieting to finding a part of the body that can be deemed beautiful. This
can also be said about different confidence levels that various people established for themselves. The
stigma of ugliness influenced society for decades, allowing confident levels to constantly change.
According to several doctors that worked on the Self Perception and Self Esteem of Patients Seeking

An Example Of Personal Listening
Listening is one of the most important processes in any sphere of life, such as business, education and
relationships. Listening is more than just hearing voices and noise, listening means concentrating,
giving attention to someone talking, be open minded, attending in the discussion (Schilling, par.3), and
understanding what the person is actually interpreting, using body expression and words (Giang,
par.1). These skills are required for success and a good life. They give the solution of conflicts and
difficulties, develop correctness, guarantee comprehension and create reliable relationships (Schilling,
par.1). Considering all this, it will be presented an example of someone s listening skills by an
observation and an analysis and the ways of improvement of my personal listening skills.

I observed the negotiation from an outside angle for about half an hour at my uncle s office. During
the discussion, I absorbed if the customer was a good listener. I tried to figure out his bad and good
habits in his listening skills regarding the information I learned in class and the material I read. During
my observation, I noticed a few things which I considered as important for a successful business and
working time, such as their suitable clothes and professional standing. In the beginning, the customer
appeared as a good listener. As Dianne Schilling said, facing the person talking, having eye contact
with him and keeping an open mind are important habits for an effective listening (par.2, 4). Most of
the time, the customer faced my uncle and had eye contact with him showing the good habits of a
listener. Indeed as Vivian Giang said, knowing and following what the other person is saying
considering the verbal and nonverbal indications has a huge impact in effective listening (par.1, 14,
15). The customer did follow my uncle while talking, but there were a few cases he felt lost in the
discussion. The reason, he felt lost, was that

Gun Control In The Tao Te Ching
The Tao Te Ching outlines that if people value great individuals, they become weak. Also, if people
place high value on possessions, they start to steal. The Tao Te Ching also articulates that the master
leads by filling the hearts of people, weakening their ambitions and toughening their determination
(Lao tzu 3). The master assists individuals to lose their knowledge and desires and creates
misperception in people who believe they possess knowledge. This concept can be applied in a
political conflict in the contemporary world. It is evident that individuals have overvalued possessions.
Overvaluing possessions has led to the emergence of various problems that have caused political
conflict.
According to Tao Te Ching, people start stealing when they place too much value in possessions. For
example, the gun control debate in the United States has raged on for several years. On the one hand,
the government argues that individuals should have rights over their guns to reduce gun violence.
There have been numerous cases of mass shootings in the recent past. These incidents are attributed to
the high number of guns accessible even to children and mentally challenged individual. The
government argues that tougher gun control policies will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Individuals refusing to give up firearms argue they need them for protection from the increased level
of crime. Tao Te Ching posits that weapons are the apparatuses of chaos and all decent people dislike
them. Weaponries are used to cause fear and decent individuals will stay away from them apart from
when they need them or if compelled and even then, they will use them with restraint (Lao tzu 31).
Peace has the outmost value and if it has been crushed, it cannot be content. It is agreeable that
weapons are tools of violence and are used to cause

Women In Leslie Chang s Factory Girls And Her TED Talk
Women s rights and equality were cornerstones of Chinese modernization, especially of Mao s vision
of an egalitarian socialist state (illustrated by his slogan that women could hold up half the sky ).
Increased female participation in labor seen as essential to the state and party agenda. While there
were without a doubt many issues women still faced within this period, many policies of the Chinese
Communist Party contributed to women s equality. However, after Mao s death and Deng Xiaoping s
rise to power and his vision of the nation as Socialist with Chinese Characteristics, and the
implementation of China s Open Door Policy, women have again become subordinated in many
spheres of society. Yet instead of relying on male political theorists ... Show more content on

Dagong means working for the boss or selling labor, and illustrates the commodification of labor and
the subordinate status of the worker, in contrast to socialist imaginations of work as liberating. Mei
means little sister, often associated with young, unmarried women in contrast to jie , the older, mature
sister . Thus, the term dagongmei symbolizes the subordination of female migrants, both as migrant
workers under urban factory owners, and as women expected to work long hours, some sacrificing
their education, in order to support their families. Pun articulates the very real struggles many
dagongmei face, from the 1993 Shenzhen factory fire that killed over 80 migrant workers, all but two
female, only then alerting China and the rest of the world of the human costs of China s rapid
development to one woman, Yan, who screams in her sleep after years of work despite being in deep
physical and emotional pain. Such pain is unbearable, and to scream out is the only way to survive.
Yet as Pun argues, their very survival is of itself a form of resistance. These migrant workers may not
be organizing, staging mass strikes or protests against the state or factory owners, but they are
resisting. By screaming out, Yan is forcing the world to hear her pain. By telling

My Mistress Eyes Are Nothing Like The Sun Rhyme Scheme
The poem I selected was My mistress eyes are nothing like the sun written by William Shakespeare.
The form of this poem is a sonnet, which consists of fourteen lines and its rhythm is iambic
pentameter. This means each line of the sonnet features five feet which consist of one stressed and one
unstressed syllable. For example, in line 2 of the poem: Coral | is far | more red | than her | lips red .
This poem is specifically written in true English sonnet or Shakespearean sonnet form because it
contains three quatrains (four line stanzas) and a heroic couplet (two lines that rhyme) at the end. Each
stanza features an alternating rhyme scheme which leaves the rhyme scheme of the whole poem: abab,

Sinclair Ross Desperation In The Lamp At Noon
Desperation a state of despair, typically one that results in rash or extreme behavior. When people turn
desperate they tend act or behave in a different way until they get what they want. In the Lamp at
Noon by Sinclair Ross desperation is one of the main themes in this story. Paul and Elle constant
fighting back and forth about the sand storm and the farm caused Ellen to form an urge to leave the
house with the baby, because Paul did not agree with her thoughts on the farm. Paul on the other hand
has a desire to keep trying and trying for more wheat every year, since Paul is always working on the

Paul thought she was just being selfish and thinking of herself shows that when Ellen left she was

Target Heart Rates
This semester of physical education has taught me countless amounts of new knowledge. In this class
I had to set specific goals for myself to be accomplished throughout the semester. My five goals were
to: run a mile in under six minutes thirty seconds, lose five pounds of fat by winter break, make my
thigh muscles strong enough to squat one hundred and fifty pounds, to be able to bench one hundred
pounds, and to be able to run up and down the entire stadium in under four minutes and thirty seconds.
At the beginning of the year I weighed one hundred and thirty pounds. By the end of the semester I
weighed one hundred and thirty eight pounds but I had lost five pounds of fat just to gain more weight

the mile runs I got my fastest time of 6.13, the second week I got 7.51, my third week I ran a 6.33
mile, my forth week I ran a 6.30 mile, during my fifth week I ran a 7.43 minute mile, during the sixth
week I ran a 6.59 minute mile, the seventh week I ran a 6.39; and my eighth, ninth and tenth week I
ran a 7.12, 6.34, and a 7.21. What this shows me is that over the semester my times fluctuated from
6.13 to 7.51. By running a 6.13, I accomplished my goal of running faster than a 6.30 minute mile.
Throughout the semester my weight fluctuated between one hundred and thirty pounds to one hundred
and forty pounds. This shows that my weight stays moderately the same over a long period of time.
Throughout this semester of PE we have played countless (not really) amounts of different sports,
such as: football, soccer, volleyball, and handball. While partaking in these sports I earned that I, a
mediocre player at most of these sports, appears to be competent in all the sports we have played so
far. However, competence and actual skill are far off from one another but still I show some skill in all
sports taken so far, even though I haven t liked some of the sports we endeavored. Due to lots of

from a low angle, with no camera movement. Stan Lee shot this scene at a low angle to bring attention
to the images that Smiley is holding. Still, at an MS (Medium Shot) Smiley stutters to perch/repeat the
words he s listening to on the tape player around his neck.
In the second scene shot two is a CU (Close up shot) of the images that Smiley is holding as he stands

Carl Sandburg, A Zealot for Chicago
Carl Sandburg was a three time Pulitzer prize winning poet, writer, and editor. As he was growing up,
Sandburg s family struggled with poverty, which engendered him to drop out of school early in his
teens to help contribute to his financially strained family. Sandburg was convinced by a man that
served with him during the Spanish American war, that he should attend Lombard College; Sandburg
took his advice and completed four years at Lombard. After getting his education he moved to
Chicago and obtained a job from Chicago Daily News, as an editorial writer. Sandburg s works
emulated his literary influence, Walt Whitman; both poets wrote in free verse. In 1914, Sandburg
published his poem Chicago then two years later, integrated the poem along with various other poems
relating to the city, and titled it Chicago Poems.
In the poem Chicago, Sandburg commences his poem by naming various titles such as Hog Butcher

accomplishments. Admitting, acknowledging, and embracing one s faults can lead to future success, as

Rape Is A Serious Problem
Only rapists know when they will strike their prey with sexual assault. The victims, both men and
women, never see themselves in such a situation. But, what if both the victim and rapist are equally to
blame in that situation? What if women could be able to and should do everything they can to prevent
being raped? Is it possible that victims are not doing everything they can to prevent rape or defend
themselves when they are being violated? The argument of to whom the fault actually belongs to has
been a long occurring ordeal that perhaps may never be resolved. Rape is a serious problem, which is
why it is one of the most highly debated topics in today s society and media. Many actors and
actresses have spoken out against rape, some are even victims. There has also been a growing amount
of concern towards women expressed by many anonymous Twitter accounts. Those accounts have
helped make teenagers and other social network users more aware of rape culture.
According to the Marshall University Women s Center, rape culture is an environment in which rape is
prevalent and in which sexual violence against women is normalized and excused in the media and
popular culture ( Women s Center marshall.edu page 1). Women believe that rape culture is
emphasized through arrogant language, women being objectified by men, the overuse of television
sexual violence, and teaching the victims not to be raped instead of teaching the rapist not to rape.

Therapy is there to help cut down a negative lifestyle that is caused by depression. Results with
treating depression can vary on the patient. Psychotherapy and counseling are more common ways of
treatment. Both psychotherapy and counseling are very similar and are more for moderate levels of
depression. They involve talking to a therapist that tries their best to help them regain their sense of
control. Sometimes, depending on the individual; psychotherapy and counseling can worsen
depression. But, there has been a high success rate with the individual s outcome after going through
psychotherapy and counseling. Ways that counseling and psychotherapy are beneficial is that it can
help you handle emotions from problems or anything causing one stress. Another reason is because it
can make you feel like you have a purpose. Talking to someone and letting go of previous problems
helps a lot and can reassure one. Although psychotherapy and counseling is shown to help, there are
also negative impacts that can come along. One negative impact can be that your problems worsen.

Implementing The New Health Care Reform
1. An important strategy to consider would be monitoring states that are active in adopting the new
health care reform. An analysis of the new reform and its impact on the VA should be studied. These
factors can play a major role in the decisions to be made when making changes in Ms. Patton s area of
control. Care should be integrated, and incentives should be aligned to the well being of the enrolled
population. The fundamental objective of implementation of the transition plan should be improving
patient health. Primary care should be a major focus, and the goal should be improving the health of
the enrolled population. The program should survive long enough to lead to improvements that can be
measured. 2. Advantages of Option 1: The VA Center will be a part of an ISN/CISN program
following the new reform. Senior veterans will be able to access primary care doctors closer to their
homes. Disadvantages of Option 1: The plan is large scale and will require a lot of time and effort. It
might be difficult to convince people to change their current plans and convince new healthier folks to
join. Budget approvals might take some time to come through. The tie up with the insurance company
needs to be well planned. Advantages of Option 2: This option thinks like the State and opines that
ISN would likely exclude coverage of service connected illness or injury. This plan of action will
ensure no drastic measures are taken to meet the new reform measures. Disadvantage of Option

Importance Of Cultural Awareness In The Philippines
Life is a very complex thing. Throughout time we have seen the evolution of the human race. During
that time people have had to adapt to their environment in order to survive. This eventually gave birth
to the many customs and diversities we see today. As the children of these generations we tend to take
this for granted. Since some cultures have evolved faster than others, we tend to forget the hardships
our predecessors worked so hard to achieve. This is where understanding what culture awareness
comes into play. If a person wants to truly honor their culture, they will constantly practice it. Respect
should be the number one priority in every culture. People should be able to give their opinion,
however it should never be given in an offensive manner. This is why cultural awareness is a huge
deal within our world. No matter where one is, generations and sacrifice created the regions we know
today. One of those regions that catches my attention is the Philippines. The terrain of the Philippines
is very interesting to say the least. These islands are part of the Pacific Ring of Fire which gives them
the origin of being mountainous and volcanic. The land of the islands are mainly composed of swift
running streams and very coastal plains. Even though the islands contain many rivers and plains, a few
of them are large and very difficult to navigate. The archipelago of the islands includes over 7000

The Effects Of Air Pollution On The World
Throughout the last 200 years, there have been a plethora of inventions such as the combustion
engine. Other such inventions include the steam engine, typically driven by coal, and propellants used
to spray chemicals. The Industrial Revolution left an impact on the world far greater than just
inventions and set forth a world of change. Although the Industrial Revolution brought many great
devices in to the world, it also could have caused the accelerated climate change and warming that we
saw throughout the 21st century. In fact, over the 900 years before the Industrial Revolution began, the
average world temperature was in decline and the 1990s was the warmest decade on record. The
introduction of the combustion engine characterizes the Industrial revolution more than any other
invention because it was used for anything from textiles to automobiles. Not only does the combustion
engine characterize the Industrial Revolution, but it also characterizes pollution. Air pollution is in
direct relation to air quality, for which we have certain standards (Vallero, 2007, p. 3). These standards
can be interfered with, and a large amount of the pollutants that cause the interference come from
combustion engines. In the combustion cycle of an internal combustion engine, a fire is created which
burns fossil fuels such as diesel and gasoline. Although the fire is contained well, not all of the fuel is
burned off and in turn is exhausted with the same chemicals that were

Introduction. Circadian Or Diurnal Rhythms Are Metabolic
Introduction
Circadian or diurnal rhythms are metabolic or behavioural rhythms, in animals and plants, that occur
usually within a 24 hour cycle (Abercrombie et al. 1990). The changes in body temperature over the
course of a day (24 hours), or in the case of females, over a month, is one of the most documented
human circadian rhythms. Body temperature as well as circadian rhythms in humans is controlled by
the hypothalamus, a small region of the brain that forms part of the autonomic nervous system. The
hypothalamus synthesizes neurohormones, which are used to control the secretions of other hormones
by the pituitary gland, which is linked to the hypothalamus.
It is well known that long distance flights have many effects on the ... Show more content on

In fact it is the hormone, melatonin which is released by the pineal gland that is responsible for
controlling the sleep cycle (Society for Endocrinology, 2015). Melatonin production increases as it
becomes dark and is supressed to a degree by light. Melatonin causes drowsiness by lowering the core
body temperature. It has been found that the hormone is also released when one is stressed which can
occur while in flight. The body reacts to the untimely release of melatonin and disrupts the circadian
rhythm, which raises the body temperature and lowers it at the wrong time of day.
It naturally will take time for the bodies internal clock to readjust to a normal rhythm, and, if
travelling to a different time zone, the body has to adjust to a different day night cycle.
Aims
The main aim of this study and experiment is to see if all long haul flights, irrespective of direction,
result in a degree of jet lag as reflected by one of the affected circadian rhythms, namely body
temperature.
The study aims to determine whether the hypothesis is correct. An additional aim is to see if average
body temperature is lowered during the flight and fluctuates less than in a normal 24 hour cycle.
Should there be enough suitable participants, another aim is to see whether people over the age of 30
take longer to return to their normal body temperature circadian rhythm than those under the age of
30.
Research Hypothesis
It takes between 36 and 48 hours to return to a

How Did Leif The Vikings Get Lucky
Leif the Lucky was born in 970 A. D. and died in 1020 A.D. The sagas describe him as tall, strong and
impressive in appearance. He was converted to Christianity by Olaf Tryggvason in Norway and was
sent back to Greenland to minister to the people there. He was blown off course while heading to
Greenland. He landed in North America instead in a place today known as Newfoundland. He called
the place that he landed Vinland due to the grape vines that grew everywhere. Another way historians
know that the Vikings were the first Europeans to discover the New World is by archeological
evidence that has been discovered. Archeological evidence of a small village was found in the 1960s

Arther Miller
Come along as an adventure through time takes launch. From the interim of Arthur Miller s birth and
death, he wrote some of America s greatest plays which are known all around the world. This world
renowned screenwriter and playwright is arguably considered the best playwright of the 20th century.
We start our journey here on October 17, 1915 in Harlem, New York where Miller was born. Arther
Miller was the son of Isidore and Augusta, a Polish and Jewish Immigrant family who owned a
flourishing manufacturing business. The miller family got hit hard during the Wall Street Crash of
1929 nearly losing everything. Arther Miller worked hard after he graduated high school, so he would
be able to pay for his collage tuition at the University of Michigan. It was at Michigan that he wrote
his first play, No Villain. This play won him the school s Avery Hopwood Award and sparked the
beginning of his successful career as a playwright. The beginning of Miller s playwright career came
out with a boom with, All My Sons, which debuted on Broadway in 1947. This play won Miller his

Comparing Kenny And Byron
Kenny and Byron are both very similar and different. They have similarities like being able to tease
people and also like feeling sorry for things and people. They re also very different as well. Byron
often tries to act cool and tries to not show any emotion. Kenny on the other hand, tends to show his
emotion freely. Byron also doesn t do very well in school, unlike Kenny who seems to thrive in
school. Kenny could easily be described as inspired. Kenny displays this with his interaction with
other characters. For example, he went to talk with his father in the bathroom when his dad was
shaving. At that moment Kenny had said that he was also growing mustache. I believe that this is
because Kenny looks up to his father and wants to be like him. Another example would be ... Show

Byron shows this characteristic as he interacts with other characters in the story. For example, Byron
eventually throws a Swedish Creme cookie at a bird which ends up killing it. He gets extremely upset
with himself from this event. That is shown because of him throwing up, crying, and then having a
funeral for the bird. Then in many other experiences Byron carelessly beats up kids not feeling bad
afterwards whatsoever. This shows that he is ambivalent because he has mixed feelings about injury
and death. He carelessly beats up kids but then when it comes to killing a bird he has a huge
breakdown. Another example would be his feelings and action towards Kenny. Sometimes he will be
nice and brotherlike with Kenny, but then other times he turns around and then ends up beating up
Kenny. When Kenny goes to Byron s class and reads after school Byron in a way congratulates
Kenny. Then in other instances like How to survive a blizzard Byron seems to be a completely
different person and causes harm to Kenny with his friend Buphead. This also shows that he is
ambivalent because he treats Kenny nicely one second and then the next second he s teasing or beating

How Luhrmann Portrays the Meeting of Romeo and Juliet In this essay, I will denote and connote the
hidden messages within Baz Luhrmanns modern day version of Romeo and Juliet. I will explain what
the messages mean, and what things are the hidden messages. I will analyse the images and shots
within the party scene that Romeo and Juliet first meet in. In the opening shot, we hear diagetec
sound. This sound is a woman singing a love song. This indicates that there is some hidden love story
within the film in which is about to be revealed to us. We see Romeo trying to shake off a drug in
which he has just taken, we see him in a very similar shot to one in which we see Juliet from during

We can see that the fish tank actually acts as a barrier between the two of them. It stops them from
standing next to each other, from fully connecting. It symbolises the walls between their two families,
the war that keeps them apart, and eventually ends in tragedy. During the party, we see many different
costumes, the most obvious being Romeo and Juliet s. They both show compatibility between the two
of them. Juliet is wearing an angel costume showing her innocence and purity. Romeo is wearing a
knight s costume, showing nobility and honour. Juliet s Mother comes to get her to dance with a man
called Paris; Paris wants her to marry him. Her family think he would be a perfect match for her, but
his costume definitely says differently. He is wearing an astronaut s costume; this costume shows that
he is slightly out in space, away from the rest of the world, possibly even self centred. Tibalt does not
want Romeo in his families house at all, especially not in his family; where as Romeo does not want
violence! This shows more of Romeos nobility and honour. It also illustrates more of the barrier
between Romeo and Juliet. It shows the side of their love that is forbidden. As

the law abiding citizen has no choice other than to disarm or become an outlaw, but people with bad

Less than one percent of licensed firearm holders have had their permits revoked due to
misdemeanors. So, what happens when the bad man with the gun is right there and the military, the
police, and the President s Secret Service aren t on the scene? Then having a gun may be the
difference between living or dying, between being raped or being okay, between saving your children
or watching them die.
The debate over gun control in the United States has waxed and waned over the years, stirred by a
series of mass killings by gunmen in civilian settings. In particular, the killing of twenty
schoolchildren in Newtown, Connecticut, in December 2012 fueled a national discussion over gun
laws and calls by the Obama administration to limit the availability of military style weapons.
However, compromise legislation that would have banned semiautomatic assault weapons and
expanded background checks was defeated in the Senate in 2013, despite extensive public support.
Gun control advocates sought to rekindle the debate following the shooting deaths of nine people at a
South Carolina church in June 2015. These advocates highlight the stricter gun laws and lower
incidents of gun violence in several other democracies, like Japan and Australia, but many others say
this correlation proves little. It is a fact that countries with the strictest gun control laws also tend to
have the highest homicide rates. In Canada around 1920, before there was any form of gun

Current Sources Of The State Of Indonesia
In Indonesia, petroleum is one of the main sources of the state revenues. It is also a very important
strategic commodity and often as political issue. The revenues from oil and gas have driven the
economic growth and contributed significantly for the development of Indonesia. In the world,
legislations which regulate oil and gas are varies from country to country. In spite of many variations,
in general, the upstream oil and gas activities, based on two systems, the production sharing contracts
and the licensing systems. Indonesia was the country that introduced the concept of production sharing
contracts in 1966 (Bindemann, 1999).
After the verdict of Indonesian Constitutional Court in 2012 on The Oil and Gas Law, some of the
articles were unconstitutional and not legally binding. As a result, the government and the parliament
want to revise the oil and gas law and led to the ideas of replacing the production sharing contract with
the licensing system. Nevertheless, before Indonesia adopts the new system, many aspects should be
considered in designing legislations. Some of the aspects are the concept of natural resources
ownership, revenues for the state, and attractiveness for the investors.
Mean while, as the owner of natural resources, the government has the rights to control and regulate
petroleum resources. The government would also have to balance its demand for maximizing the
revenues from oil and gas and adverse effect on investment climate. Thus, it should be

The use of guilt and sin must have been eccentric for Shakespeare, living amongst such a religious

plunge him into a pit of guilt, leading him to an unstable state of mind, contributing to his disturbed
mind set. This slightly contrasts to Carol Ann Duffy s Education for Leisure as the orator doesn t seem

Essay on Florence Nightingale
Florence Nightingale was a legend in her lifetime and was one of the greatest pioneer s in nursing. She
lived ninety years and accomplished many great things for the field of nursing. Her descriptions of
nursing, health, environment, and humankind are remarkable and still true to this day. Nightingale
reformed nursing and changed the way nursing was viewed. Some of the issues during Nightingale s
time, the 1800 s, we still face today. Nightingale not only impacted nursing in the 1800 s, but also still
has an effect on nursing today. We do not need a new role model and icon for nursing because
Nightingale changed the nursing profession for the better and that should never be forgotten.

of her education, but they eventually ceded. Nightingale went to Kiaserswerth and sustained a three
month training program. She later went on to be a nurse in the Crimean War where she began her
reformation of the nursing profession (Holliday and Parker, 1997). Selanders (1998) explains how
Nightingale describes nursing, environment, humankind, and health. Selanders begins with nursing;
giving an explanation why nursing is a calling, an art, a science, requires education, and achieved in
the course of environmental alteration. When stating that nursing is a calling, Nightingale emphasized
nursing should be practiced for the love of the profession and not for the money. Nursing was
reviewed as an art and a science. The science of nursing refers to practicing nursing with current
methods, knowledge, and education. The art of nursing refers to being practiced with empathy.
Nightingale explained why nursing needs environmental alteration. Nurses must receive abstract and
clinical practice when receiving education to become a nurse so that a patient can be put within the

important. Her definition of environment is anything that, through manipulation, assists in putting the

Sodium Chloride Reaction Lab Report
Introduction/Purpose: The purpose of this lab was to find out how gaviscon reacted with different salt
solutions. Sodium Alginate is a compound that forms with the Gaviscon and forms a raft and blocks
all the stomach acid from traveling up the esophagus. Procedure: One gram of the following salts were
measured out, Calcium chloride, Lithium chloride, Magnesium chloride, Potassium chloride, Sodium
chloride, Strontium chloride, and Copper chloride. Each of the salts were placed into cups and added
to 80 mL of water. Then Gaviscon was individually dropped into each solution. Do this for each salt
solution and record the results. Next, forcefully expel the Gaviscon in a regular steady stream into
each different solution. Record the observations. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The results may have been off due to inaccurate weighing of the measurements of the salts or water to
make the solutions. The results also could have been inaccurate through cross contamination between
mixing the solutions. The four salts mixed with water, Potassium chloride, Lithium chloride, Sodium
chloride, and Magnesium chloride, all dissolved the Gaviscon. Most of the compounds that disperse
the Gaviscon were +1 charged. The three salts mixed with water that solidified the Gaviscon were,
Calcium chloride, Strontium chloride, and Copper chloride. The solutions that did not dissolve the
Gaviscon had a +2 charge. Magnesium chloride was one exception. Magnesium chloride has a +2
charge but had a reaction like a +1 solutions. Magnesium chloride may be different in size which
would cause a different result. It is the smallest one in the group of compounds in this experiment. The
element copper is not talked about often but through observations and results of the experiment copper
is most likely +2 charged. Copper is inferred to be a +2 charge because the other chemical compounds
with +2 charge dissolved the Gaviscon and the Copper chloride dissolved the Gaviscon so it fit in the
category of the solutions with +2 charge group. Something that would have to be seen at microscopic

Tolerance In Strange Fruit
Tolerance is one of the most valuable attributes a person can have. Some people have and abundance
of it, and others not so much. In our world today, acts of tolerance are few and far in between, as the
sources show. Though tolerance is so rare, through diversity and a strong ethical sense it is possible to
learn to tolerate and accept, even if not all of our experiences are the same. To begin with, the way
people experience things affects the way they learn about tolerance. If you look at the video Strange
Fruit, it shows two individuals with vastly different upbringings and life experiences. It shows how
tolerance is learned and passed down through generations, and how it affects a person s views. This
idea is, of course, important because ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

it easier for some to build up tolerance. In the short film My So Called Enemy, these girls who are

these girls begin to experience different thoughts they begin to learn to accept those differences. This
shows that exposure leads to understanding, which then leads to tolerance or acceptance. Another
example of diversity affecting tolerance is the video Strange Fruit. A boy is killed because of the color

How And Ways Of Merging Finances
When part of a couple, there are several entertaining things you will do with your loved one. Going on
vacations, enjoying candlelit dinners and even going on shopping trips are all things couples like to do
together. Along with being fun, the one thing these activities have in common is that they cost money.
Prior to marriage, or even before a couple starts to get serious, money may not be too much of a
concern. It is when people start to build a future together that the topic of money and possibly merging
finances will need to be discussed and sorted out. Merging finances may seem like a brilliant idea, but
prior to couples doing this, there a number of things they should consider, so they have the best
possible outcome instead of more stress.
1. Be honest about finances
The number one mistake that couples make when marrying or moving in together is not being honest
about their finances. Oftentimes, people may feel ashamed at the fact that they have a lot of debt,
especially from credit cards, student loans, medical bills and more. On top of that, they may not be
making very much money from their current job, and in combination with their debt, they are
concerned about appearing financially unstable. The average person has some sort of debt, so there is
really nothing to be embarrassed about. If you want your relationship to have the least amount of
financial stress possible, then you have to be honest and fill your significant other in on what is going

Autoimmune Thrombocytopenia
Autoimmune Thrombocytopenia (ITP) is an immune system disorder where the reaction of the
immune system attacks itself causing a low platelet count, placing those affected at risk for severe
hemorrhage. Autoimmune Thrombocytopenia (ITP) formally known as idiopathic thrombocytopenia
purpura (ITP), is now defined as an immunological disorder where the body attacks its self and
destroys platelets (McCare 2011). ITP a disorder defined by a low platelet count in which platelet
productions are both impaired and destroyed by anti platelet antibodies. ITP is diagnosed with a
platelet count less than 100,000/uL with no known evidence of anemia or leukopenia. ITP can have a
negative effect on life expectancy reducing it by approximately 20 years. ... Show more content on

The body views the platelets as a foreign body and causes a response that produces antibodies that
marks the spleen to destroy and remove the platelets. The platelet count is affected by antibodies
produced by individuals with ITP. The antibody produced covers the surface of the platelets making
them easily destructible by macrophages. Once the macrophages destroy the platelets faster than they
are produced, the number of platelets are greatly reduced causing a decrease in blood clotting.
Autoimmune Thrombocytopenia is most common in women between the age of 20 40 years of age
and also commonly known to affect children with a recent viral infection such as Rubella or German
Measles. ITP can be both chronic and acute. Chronic ITP is progressive and insidious found more
common with women between the ages of 20 40, with complications noted mostly during childbirth.

spontaneously resolves without treatment within 6 months (McCare

people, the validity of the theory was not his concern as much as how that validity is determined. This
is an issue that really does not get the attention that it deserves. Popper s claims concerning, When
should a theory be ranked as scientific? and Is there a criterion for the scientific character or status of a
theory? seems to be put together in the following summary.
At first Popper seems to just be criticizing the integrity of some sciences and/or scientists who
nebulously back their vague and general theories with references to observations that may be
inconclusive or scanty which they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first half of Popper s lecture seems to coincide with Thomas Kuhn s historical account of science.
Kuhn speaks of the old astronomical theories held and how they resemble many types of theories
today. They were believed for the same reasons: they provided plausible answers to the questions that
seemed important (Kuhn p.3). Kuhn, however, would agree with Popper that theories must go beyond
the content of observation; that it was psychological factors that led the early scientists to group up
observations into a systematic formula.
Basically, with every hypothesis, conjecture, observation, etc. I have read about in Kuhn goes to every
extreme to avoid any type of test that might refute their claims. The limited observations that they did
make could always be interpreted into the theory. What was worse was that those observations that did
not fit into the theory were viewed as only apparent observations (Kuhn p.39).
Maybe this is another factor involved as to why Copernicus was revolutionary. He did not follow this
precedent. Copernicus was not the only one. Many had also refuted Aristotle s views concerning laws
of motion (Kuhn p.83). When observable falsifying evidence is present Kuhn agrees that the
conceptual scheme must then be abandoned and replaced. However, a good distinction is made here.
Conceptual scheme is a much better rendering than theory. Much like what I would call a world view

Similarities Between Slavery And Indentured Servants
The institutions of slavery and being an indentured servant is different yet similar. Slavery was set up
in a way that you were born into it and the only way out was death. Slavery was a system set up that
you will be enslaved for life while indentured servitude had an agreement. The agreement was that
you work like a slave for three to seven years then you would be given freedom as well as land. When
you were a slave and an indentured servant the treatment you endured was unbearable. They would
beat them for any reasons they felt necessary. These could include not picking enough cotton, not
responding when spoken too, or even talking back to your master. Many slaves and indentured
servants would die due to this treatment as well as other ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If the indentured servants ran away or if the women got pregnant then their time could get increased.
The masters would take them to court to see that this happened. Women that were slaves or indentured
servants received the worse treatment because they were looked upon as weaker therefore they
received more abuse including sexual abuse. When masters felt like they could not use the slaves and
indentured servants they were sold. Indentured servants and slaves were not allowed to get married.
African slaves increased because indentured servants were not good for planters needs and the whites
wanted a way to control the outstanding number of African Americans around them. Slavery was
based on the African American race and being black made them inferior to all other humans which
made slavery a hereditary condition in the world. Slaves were the key commodity of exchange. They
were sold as security for debts, for food, war, captives, military recruits, and agricultural laborers.
However, the main difference was that slaves worked with no end date, they would hope and pray that
they got out of being enslaved, but few got out alive. Although it was possible for some to escape,
some were free due to Christian baptism, and others purchased their freedom from

The Over Representation Of The New Zealand s Crime Sector...
The over representation of indigenous peoples and minority groups in crime rates is a significant issue
appearing in several countries worldwide. This essay will focus in on the over representation of Maori
in New Zealand s crime sector. The disproportionate levels of crime within the Maori population will
be looked at first through a contemporary strain theory lens using the relationship between Police and
Maori as an example to demonstrate how Maori may end up over represented in the official crime
statistics. A critical criminology theoretical framework, namely labelling theory, will then be used to
provide further understanding about why the over representation of Maori in crime rates has remained
consistent through several generations.
Individuals who identify as Maori currently make up 15% of New Zealand s population (Quince,
2007) , this reduces when age is taken account; where of New Zealand s population over 15 years old,
12.5% identify as Maori (Elers, 2012). Grossly disproportionate to this is the representation of the
Maori population in New Zealand crime rates. Studies have shown that in New Zealand, Maori
individuals are approximately 38 39% more likely to be prosecuted and convicted of an offence than
non Maori. They also showed that Maori individuals were nine times more likely than non Maori to be
kept in custody whilst awaiting trial for an offence. They are seven times more likely to receive a
custodial sentence after conviction and are markedly less

Quality Indicators Essay
Quality indicators(QI)are created by the AHRQ(Agency of Healthcare Research and Quality), Quality
indicators are standardized, evidence based measures of health care quality that can be used with
readily available hospital inpatient or outpatient administrative data to measure and track quality of
care. QI culture is dedicated to clinical studies, setting goals, measurement of performance, identify
the indicators, implementation and making an organized transition. However, these quality indicators
are mostly driven by measurement of performance, with the aim to enhance healthcare. These quality
indicators are constructed into four standardized parts.
1.Pediatric Quality Indictors(PQI), pediatric indicators are a group of measures that focus on the
quality of care for the pediatric population/patients and preventable hospital admissions. PQI review
issues or problems with children , that may have occurred as a result of being in the healthcare setting.

Prevention Quality Indicators(PQI), POI represent hospital admission rates for common ambulatory
care sensitive conditions . This indicator is driven by early detection and limitation of severe disease.
And these indicators can be used to recognize potential issues and focuses on preventive
healthcare/services. For example, A patient was admitted to the hospital due to complications related
to warfarin toxicity elevated INR of 6.45. This indicator would suggest that if adequate teaching was
provided, hospitalization may have been avoided if their PT/INR was monitored regularly as an
outpatient. As PQI strongly supports community clinic/primary care physician support. 3. Inpatient
Quality Indicators(IQI), IQI are hospital and area level indicators relating to utilization . These
indicators review or measure the level of quality medical care (poorly delivered care or inefficient
care) in the hospital setting and death rates. Also, IQI examine various inpatient procedures and

  • 2. A Summary OfThe Rapture And The Book Of Revelation In K. Essex s article aptly named, The Rapture and the Book of Revelation, Essex outlines four promising facts regarding Revelation 3:10. He states, First, this promise applies not only to one local assembly existing in the days of the apostle John but to the entire church of Jesus Christ. The constant refrain in all seven messages from Christ to these churches is He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. Second, the trial which is coming is not local, but is about to come upon the whole world. The persecutions of the past were usually limited to one country or area. This trial must refer to the tribulation to come when all the world will be amazed and follow after the beast (13:3), and all who worship him will come under the wrath of God. What Are The Pros And Cons Of State PROS AND CONS OF ANY STATE LEVEL POLICY (500) The State in modern times is seen more as an enemy of the people then its agent, but it still retains many qualities that allowed the development of the modern world we live in. This chapter provides the main benefits of using the State as an agent for development as well as the negative sides. The main advantage of the State is hold up in its most basic concept, the State as a collective agent of its people (Parsons, 1949) that uses the power and capital of its individual citizens to promote and finance change on a bigger scale. Its main advantages in this case are its size, capital and legitimacy. Starting with capital, the state apparatus is huge (Niskanen, 1971), no matter it being a minimal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... And as peoples trust in the State to fulfil its tasks dwindles, so does the States power to provide those services (ibid.). But from a development perspective things are a bit different. Most problems in delivering services to citizens are financial in nature (Greve, 2012), but where a lack of funds might stop State led development, it is not detrimental to the State as an agent of it. For what is perceived good development practice there is always international funding (for example McGrath, 2015, Worldbank.org, 2015, Undp.org, 2015). This paper does not go into the debate of is good development practice good or not it takes internationally sponsored and promoted development practice as implicitly good. And for the sake of argumentation on is the State a good or bad agent of development it does not matter what kind of development it promotes. So this good development is taken as the one we want our states to be agents to. And the State relying on foreign sources of funding development practice when it lacks state funds for development might be positive. To clarify, a state that runs a budget deficit does not have the monetary power to start development policy. This allows for the internationally funded and tried out development practice to become the only development practice a state can enforce (finance), because it can fund it from external sources such as donations, ... The Tao Te Ching also articulates that the master leads by filling the hearts of people, weakening their ambitions and toughening their determination (Lao tzu 3). The master assists individuals to lose their knowledge and desires and creates misperception in people who believe they possess knowledge. This concept can be applied in a political conflict in the contemporary world. It is evident that individuals have overvalued possessions. Overvaluing possessions has led to the emergence of various problems that have caused political conflict. According to Tao Te Ching, people start stealing when they place too much value in possessions. For example, the gun control debate in the United States has raged on for several years. On the one hand, the government argues that individuals should have rights over their guns to reduce gun violence. There have been numerous cases of mass shootings in the recent past. An analysis of the new reform and its impact on the VA should be studied. These factors can play a major role in the decisions to be made when making changes in Ms. Patton s area of control. Care should be integrated, and incentives should be aligned to the well being of the enrolled population. During that time people have had to adapt to their environment in order to survive. This eventually gave birth to the many customs and diversities we see today. As the children of these generations we tend to take this for granted. Since some cultures have evolved faster than others, we tend to forget the hardships our predecessors worked so hard to achieve. This is where understanding what culture awareness comes into play. If a person wants to truly honor their culture, they will constantly practice it. Respect should be the number one priority in every culture. People should be able to give their opinion, however it should never be given in an offensive manner. This is why cultural awareness is a huge deal within our world. No matter where one is, generations and sacrifice created the regions we know today. It naturally will take time for the bodies internal clock to readjust to a normal rhythm, and, if travelling to a different time zone, the body has to adjust to a different day night cycle. Aims The main aim of this study and experiment is to see if all long haul flights, irrespective of direction, result in a degree of jet lag as reflected by one of the affected circadian rhythms, namely body temperature. The study aims to determine whether the hypothesis is correct. An additional aim is to see if average body temperature is lowered during the flight and fluctuates less than in a normal 24 hour cycle. Should there be enough suitable participants, another aim is to see whether people over the age of 30 take longer to return to their normal body temperature circadian rhythm than those under the age of 30. Research Hypothesis It takes between 36 and 48 hours to return to a

In the morning at 11 o clock,my mom, dad, cousin and I left in the car to go to Mammoth Cave Park for our Memorial Day trip. They re also very different as well. Byron often tries to act cool and tries to not show any emotion. Kenny on the other hand, tends to show his emotion freely. Byron also doesn t do very well in school, unlike Kenny who seems to thrive in school. Kenny could easily be described as inspired. Kenny displays this with his interaction with other characters. For example, he went to talk with his father in the bathroom when his dad was shaving. At that moment Kenny had said that he was also growing mustache. Then in many other experiences Byron carelessly beats up kids not feeling bad afterwards whatsoever. This shows that he is ambivalent because he has mixed feelings about injury and death. Juliet is wearing an angel costume showing her innocence and purity. Romeo is wearing a knight s costume, showing nobility and honour. Juliet s Mother comes to get her to dance with a man called Paris; Paris wants her to marry him. Her family think he would be a perfect match for her, but his costume definitely says differently. When faced with gun control laws, the law abiding citizen has no choice other than to disarm or become an outlaw, but people with bad intentions are faced with no such moral dilemma. So, what happens when the bad man with the gun is right there and the military, the police, and the President s Secret Service aren t on the scene? Then having a gun may be the difference between living or dying, between being raped or being okay, between saving your children or watching them die. The debate over gun control in the United States has waxed and waned over the years, stirred by a series of mass killings by gunmen in civilian settings. In particular, the killing of twenty schoolchildren in Newtown, Connecticut, in December 2012 fueled a national discussion over gun laws and calls by the Obama administration to limit the availability of military style weapons. However, compromise legislation that would have banned semiautomatic assault weapons and expanded background checks was defeated in the Senate in 2013, despite extensive public support. Gun control advocates sought to rekindle the debate following the shooting deaths of nine people at a South Carolina church in June 2015. These advocates highlight the stricter gun laws and lower incidents of gun violence in several other democracies, like Japan and Australia, but many others say this correlation proves little. Individuals who identify as Maori currently make up 15% of New Zealand s population (Quince, 2007) , this reduces when age is taken account; where of New Zealand s population over 15 years old, 12.5% identify as Maori (Elers, 2012). Grossly disproportionate to this is the representation of the Maori population in New Zealand crime rates. Studies have shown that in New Zealand, Maori individuals are approximately 38 39% more likely to be prosecuted and convicted of an offence than non Maori. They also showed that Maori individuals were nine times more likely than non Maori to be kept in custody whilst awaiting trial for an offence. They are seven times more likely to receive a custodial sentence after conviction and are markedly less ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This indicator is driven by early detection and limitation of severe disease. And these indicators can be used to recognize potential issues and focuses on preventive healthcare/services. For example, A patient was admitted to the hospital due to complications related to warfarin toxicity elevated INR of 6.45. As PQI strongly supports community clinic/primary care physician support. 3. Inpatient Quality Indicators(IQI), IQI are hospital and area level indicators relating to utilization . These indicators review or measure the level of quality medical care (poorly delivered care or inefficient care) in the hospital setting and death rates.
