Early on, within the opening scene, the headmaster addresses the students about the importance of
keeping tradition, within the school and their personal lives. Due to the ways tradition has been
ingrained into their lives, the group of boys is reluctant to explore new grounds. Charlie stands
obediently, listening to the teachers, Neil continues his monotonous life, and Knox admires Chris Noel
from afar. Due to current societal norms, Charlie is forbidden from even considering to disobey a
teacher, Neil is tied to his life by a stern father, and Knox cannot make his move on Chris while she
has a boyfriend. However, after meeting, Mr. Keating the boys soon learn to move on from societal
constraints that bound them to their misery. He actively encourages the boys to individualize
themselves, they shouldn t adhere to tradition if it makes them miserable. Because of his advice, the
boys choose to pursue their dreams, Charlie begins to rebel by writing an article that asks why girls
can t go to Welton, which defies the tradition of the school. Neil pursues acting and lands the leading
role in the production of A Midsummer Night s Dream, to the dismay of his father, and Knox goes
after Chris. All these acts of defiance were in pursuit of their happiness and catalyzed by their teacher.
Many audience members will find these youthful acts of defiance reminiscent of their own youth, the
classic rebellious teenage years. Since the audience has also acted similarly to these youths, they
project themselves into our protagonists as they reject tradition. Ultimately, these acts of rebellion
allow the audience to be a part of the story without breaking the fourth wall, and in the end when the
Keating s class stand to salute him, we feel the triumphant warmth as

Application Of Genetic Engineering On The World
Application of Genetic Engineering on Taro
Adam Mohamed 10/23/2015
Introduction The field of genetic engineering is very promising, pertaining to the future of agriculture
around the world. Research in this area is allowing for more and more improvements to the various
aspects of a crop such as yield, visual quality, taste, nutritional value, disease immunity, and cold
resistance, as well as many other benefits. A further understanding of both the genetics of crops and
how to influence the characteristics listed above will support the lives of many, protect biodiversity,
create many new jobs due to the ability to farm crops in new areas, and other possibilities. The

Adam Mohamed Application of Genetic Engineering on Taro
Literature Review The article Genetic Engineering to Improve Quality, Productivity and Value of
Crops by Abhaya Dandekar provides information on the various benefits that genetic engineering
allows for in a plant. Regarding nutritional benefits, genes that concern the production of healthy
amino acids, oils, and other substances can be edited, removed, or introduced to increase the
abundance of these helpful substances, allowing for generally healthier crops. Studies on the popular
plant Arabidopsis thaliana have revealed much about influencing when a plant will begin to flower.
This research is valuable in that it permits a better understanding of how to control the length of the
period of time between the growing stage of a plant, and the flowering stage (when it can be
harvested). In crops such as cabbage, the flowering stage can be stopped altogether, letting the leaves
themselves be harvested, instead of having the plant die after flowering. Influencing the heat or cold
resistance of a plant could allow for the crop to grow in temperatures that it normally wouldn t be able
to, such as having genetically modified bananas manage to grow in a

I Hear America Singing Metaphors
America, most people say the land of the great and build on immigrates that came in the early 1900.
Most people came to American to live out an American Dream. However, what is this American
Dream ? Is everyone being treated fairly? On the other hand, is discrimination a reoccur topic?
America is seen through the eyes of different perspectives. I Hear America Singing by Walt Whitman
and Langston Hughes I, Too suggest that the experience of living in American can be told through
different perspective.

Noise Of Electrical Power Stations Essay
Noise analysis was performed at three locations: offices, Laboratories and control rooms near turbine
in three electric power stations ( Shupra Elkhiema, Cairo west and Cairo south) . Noise parameters
were determined (e.g: LAeq,T, LCeq,T, LC LA and noise climate L10 L90 for each measurement
location. The start of measurements was in Shopra Elkhiema electrical power station, Figure 1 shows
the noise spectra measured at control rooms, laboratories and offices within frequency range of 16

usually generated from the air conditioning or ventilation system, turbines, transformers and water
pumps which presents in the station. Table 3 shows the measurement parameters selected for the study
of low frequency noise in station. The acoustic pressure at 50 Hz is due to air conditioning which is
audible especially in the control room because it exceeds 50dB. Also, in some offices the sound of air

Persuasive Essay On Legalizing Abortion
Abortion: the termination of a pregnancy after, accompanied by, resulting in, or closely followed by
the death of the embryo or fetus. Throughout our lives we are constantly taking other people s
opinions into consideration. We care more about what people think of us, rather than how we think of
ourselves. In reality, the only opinion that matters is your own. Abortion has been legal since 1973.
People have been arguing whether it should be legal or illegal ever since. Abortion should stay
legalized for various reasons. A woman has rights, and these rights include what she gets to do with
her body. The U.S. Supreme Court decided in favor of abortion rights during the case of Roe v. Wade
on January 22, 1973. They stated that This right of privacy... is broad enough to encompass a woman s
decision whether or not to terminate her pregnancy. People argue that a baby is capable of feeling pain
when it is killed. This is completely false. A developing fetus s brain starts to structure between the 7th
and 8th months of gestation and during this time they start to perceive pain. This is far past the time
when an abortion is carried out. So technically, the baby can t feel anything at the time of the ... Show

Nobody wants to feel unwanted. Getting pregnant is an extremely important decision between two
people that requires consideration, preparation, and tedious planning. If you force a women to keep
her baby, regardless of what she wants, then the rate of unwanted and neglected children will spike.
These children who aren t properly cared for often end up committing crimes or getting involved with
illegal activities. Studies show that legalized abortion has directly affected the decrease in the amount
of crimes being committed per year. If you raise a child that you carefully planned for, in a welcoming
home, then it is less likely that the child will end up getting involved in suspicious

Explain The Four Phases Of Business Cycle
Understanding business cycles is the essence of a course in macroeconomics. The term business cycle
is an economy cycle also known as trade cycle which refers to aggregate production. It refers the
periodic but irregular upward and downward activity over several months or years in the market
economy. In another word we can say that A business cycle occurs due to the fluctuations that an
economy experiences over time resulting from changes in economic growth. A business cycle is
typically characterized by four phases Expansion or prosperity, recession, depression and recovery
that repeat themselves over time.

Blue Ringed Octopus Research Paper
The mating for blue ringed octopuses begins when a male meets a female and begins to caress her
with arm. The males then climb on the females back, the female is to allow this happening while the
male starts this process. The hectocotylus is inserted under the females mantle and spermatophores are
let into the female s oviduct. The female then lays between 50 100 eggs and protects them by keeping
them under her tentacle until they hatch about 50 days later into the planktonic paralarvae. The female
then dies as she cannot eat while she guards her eggs. The blue ringed octopus is about the size of a

Good And Evil In Lord Of The Flies Essay
In the book Lord of the Flies by William Golding, some critics think his two themes are that there is
no hope for humankind and that evil is an inborn trait in all people. They think this because they are
becoming chaotic savages, abusing their power and their instinct to survive and kill starts to take over.
The critics think the themes are there is no hope for humankind and evil is in all people because the
boys in the book become savages and everything turns to chaos and violence. At the beginning of the
book the boys elect a chief and start to create jobs for everyone, like attending the fire and hunting.
Although, as the story continues the boys start to not care about tending the fire, they only care about
having fun. Pretty soon everyone starts to disregard Ralph, their chief, and follow Jack because he
wants to have fun and hunt. What they don t realize is that if they don t tend to the fire they re never ...

Even though the book is mainly a male novel, males are still human and girls have the same instinct to
kill as boys do. On the island all the boys have evil inside of them, including Ralph, and if there was a
girl on the island she would have evil in her too. They show this evil by helping to kill Simon who
was one of their friends. When they kill Simon they poured down the rock, leapt onto the beast,
screamed, struck, bit tore. There were no words, and no movements but the tearing of teeth and claws
(153). Even though they won t admit it to each other, they murdered Simon and at the time they had a
thirst for blood, and it gave them power and excitement. It is the evil inside of them that is coming out
and making them kill. Even Ralph, who is the most civilized of them all, helps to kill Simon. Also, it
shows how if they continued on this way humankind would slowly kill

Olaudah Equiano, The Interesting Narrative of the Life Olaudah Equiano or Gustavus Vassa, The
African. Written by Himself. (London: The Project Gutenberg eBook, 2005)
In his book, The Interesting Narrative of the Life Olaudah Equiano or Gustavus Vassa, The African.
Written by Himself, Olaudah Equiano describes his life from the time he was captured and enslaved at
a young age to his journey to freedom. Throughout his book he recalls his culture back in Africa and
compares it with the strange, and obscure observations of his experience during his time as a slave.
Equiano sometimes struggles with his thoughts on slavery and his particular situations sometimes
contradict his judgments. During his time as a slave, Equiano faces a journey that challenges him
mentally, physically, and spiritually. Through his journey, Equiano finds that the pathway to freedom
is through intellectual development, and his new religious finding of God through the bible. To make
his argument, Olaudah Equiano starts his narrative by describing the village he was from and their
customs so that his readers can understand his background. Equiano was from the village where in his
culture manners are simple, and luxuries are few . (53) His village is known as Essaku in the Kingdom
of Benin, Africa. In his village, Equiano was not aware of those who did not look like him. He had
never heard or seen of white people. Though he did not know of white people, he already

Industrial Revolution Working Class
Throughout the years, science and technology have developed exponentially through the work of
several scientists and researchers. By the 1800s, citizens craved comfort and wanted jobs to be done
faster. These desires created the Industrial Revolution and the age of mass production. This prompted
new technology and faster ways to save lives. Now, citizens have internet on their phones, GPS
tracking systems, and live longer. However, while the Revolution was prosperous in the long run, it
deeply affected people during the 1800s. During the Industrial Revolution, people worked strenuously,
the emerging middle class could afford to spend more on daily business, and quality of life at home
decreased.
At the beginning of the Industrial Revolution, the working class who made up 80% of society had
little bargaining power with their new bosses. Working conditions were very tough, and sometimes
tragic. Factory employers demanded a complete change of pace and discipline from the village life.
Laborers worked twelve hours a day, six days a week, without vacations or holidays. There were
safety hazards at the job as well due to the dangerous machinery they had to work with. Under such
dangerous conditions, accidents occurred regularly. The majority of the workers also saw very little
social mobility during work. But, during the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

reduce your risk of complications. There are a number of foods that you will need to avoid if you have
diabetes. Below is a list of some of the foods to avoid: High Sugar Foods Cookies, cakes, pies, candy
and soda are among the worst foods that a diabetic can eat. Not only are they filled with sugar, but
they are lacking in essential nutrients. If you have a sweet tooth, then it is better to opt for fruits, such

Disadvantages Of Pesticides
INTRODUCRION
Pesticides and their alternatives are an undeniable part of modern life, used to protect everything from
flower gardens to agricultural crops from specific pests (Saravi Shokrzadeh, 2011) Pesticides are
considered a vital component of modern farming, playing a major role in maintaining high agricultural
productivity. Consequently, in high input intensive agricultural production systems, the widespread
use of pesticides to manage pests has emerged as a dominant feature (Saravi Shokrzadeh, 2011)
Pesticides comprise a large number of substances that belong to many different chemical classes, they
are applied to crops at various stages of cultivation to provide protection against pests and during post
harvest storage to preserve quality, to ensure the safety of food for consumers and regulate
international trade and legislation. Pesticides are considered to be essential for agricultural
development; some of them can cause serious ambient contamination, principally in food (Sitta et al.,
2000; Gonzalez et al., 2003). This hazard, could be further increased in case of vegetable fruits which
are usually consumed freshly e.g. consumed vegetable fruits freshly contaminated with pesticide
residues, more than allowable tolerance (Romeh et al., 2000). Various human health related ... Show

General Grain Theory Case Study
The third part of the general strain theory is the removal of positively valued stimuli. The removal of
positively valued stimuli could include many things. Some things that could be involved in negative
stimuli could be the death of a family member/friend, the loss of a relationship, the loss of a substance
that one might be addicted to, (coffee, drugs, videogames etc.) the loss of previously owned money, or
even the loss of a cell phone. The removal of positively valued stimuli could include anything that was
valued and then is taken away by some force (Bernard, Snipes, and Gerould, 2010, p. 164 165). In the
case of the Walmart shooting, one can speculate that anything could have been taken from Willis,
whether it was his job, friends, family member, or maybe even his phone. This could have caused

Considering that Willis was stationed at the air base in Grand Folks since 2013, one could speculate
that Willis was missing his family. Willis saw his family two weeks before his crime. The family of

they did not see anything wrong with his mental state and was in disbelief that Willis had committed
such a terrible crime (NBC News 2015). Dude to these facts, one could imagine that Willis could have
missed his family a great deal. Willis could have been so homesick that he would rather die than live
away from his family. The final part of the general strain theory is the presentation of negative stimuli.
The presentation of negative stimuli causes strain and negative feelings to be experienced. Negative
stimuli could be considered anything from the realization of

The Viological Theory Of Emerging Infectious Diseases
Of all known human pathogens 60% are zoonotic, meaning they are naturally transmissible from
vertebrate or invertebrate animals to humans and vice versa. Emerging infectious diseases are those
that are newly discovered, newly evolved, or experiencing recent expansion of incidence, geography,
host or vector range (Chomel, 2008). Viruses and bacteria are the most numerous of emerging
pathogens, however parasites and particularly protozoa more so that helminths have also become
adept at finding new ways to prosper.
In the fight for resource prioritisation, the Emerging Infectious Diseases have often demanded
attention, leaving behind a group of ancient diseases collectively known as the Neglected Tropical
Diseases which almost ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The relative importance of a disease on a global scale is best quantified with either a validated public
health tool like the Disability Adjusted Life Year (DALY) or a financial value, the dollar ($USD). The
DALY combines years of expected life lost due to death with years of life lived at a fraction of full
capacity due to disability. Shifting interactions between humans and other animals is thought to be the
main driver behind emerging zoonotic parasites. The following five zoonotic parasites are outlined
because of their significant public health burden and financial impact in agriculture and society in
general, but also the changing human animal interface that is allowing their resurgence.
Discussion
Top 5 globally impacting zoonotic parasites
1. Schistosomiasis in humans is caused by 5 species of parasitic trematode helminths. The three
zoonotic species, S.mekongi in pigs, and S.mansoni in baboons and rodents, and S.japonicum, can all
cause progressive liver fibrosis, portal hypertension, and ascites. S.japonicum is responsible for the
most zoonotic cases and has at least 40 domestic and wild definitive hosts. Whilst zoonotic
schistosomiasis is only 14% of the global schistosomiasis burden this still accounts for approximately
10 million DALYs and one of the highest global burdens of any parasitic zoonoses. Direct economic
losses from livestock infections are also thought to be substantial (Torgerson, et al. 2011).

Cassandra
In the first play Agamemnon by Aeschylus, we are introduced to a female character named Cassandra.
Even though her part is approximately 260 lines, it delivers such an important dramatic purpose. Her
scene begins when she enters riding in a chariot alongside King Agamemnon, they are greeted by his
current wife Clytemnestra. At this point King Agamemnon is now asked to walk down the purple
tapestry with Casandra following along to his impending doom. In this paper I will give you insight on
who exactly Cassandra is; and the powerful effect that she has within this play. Next I will discuss her
role, and what similarities we see through out other Greek Plays characters.

While Cassandra was in Troy, she had visions of what was going to happen to the City and this caused
the King Priam to lock her away in the sense of her being mad . One of her visions was that there were
men hiding inside the Trojan Horse, her claims were believed by one but then swiftly repressed. This
quandary of Cassandras follows her throughout Agamemnon, in her brief scene with the
chorus/audience. After Clytemnestra exits the room, Cassandra screams in horror to Apollo, asking
why he was leading her to her death. She cries to the chorus; I mourn the marriage, Paris marriage,
that doomed his own people (Aeschylus 155 157), this refers to the fall of Troy and the prophecies she
told. If Paris would have believed her she would not be in the house of death and the city of Troy
would still stand. We can see that throughout the scene with Cassandra and the Chorus, she reveals
that her murder and Agamemnon will take place in his house. She predicts her imminent death, as well
as Agamemnon s, at the hands of a woman that she calls bitch . By this time, the Chorus replies; we
find, though, that we trust your prophecies (Aeschylus 1213). With that being said, we can see a turn
in what is seen as her curse, the chorus believes her but will do nothing to help her. Some parallels can
be seen between Cassandra and Tiresias, the Seer, from Oedipus and Antigone in the sense that the
both speak the truth but are not believed. Tiresias the honorable Seer for the City of Thebes is pained
when he has to tell Oedipus, as well as, Creon the truth of what his visions held. Tiresias tells

Children are blunt in their thinking. Adults like to call this bluntness, being a matter of factly , blunt or

The Importance Of My Best Friend
When I was younger I always wanted a friend, a best friend, a friend that I could confide in and would
always be there for me. Throughout the years I ve had several male and female friends but none scared
me as bad as my so called best friend my 12th grade year. In summer of 2007 I moved from Jackson
to Crockett county because my mother got a divorce. At the time, I didn t have my license so I could
drive myself to school so I had to change schools. There was this girl named Nicole who lived down
the street from my grandmother. Me and her had grown close to throughout the years because on the
weekends or during the summertime I would spend a lot of time at my grandmothers. During the
summer Nicole and I would spend a lot of time hang out and she eventually got me a job at the local
dairy queen where she worked. By the time school started Nicole and I were inseparable, we were
always together. One night when we were at work a group of boys she knew came in. They kept
asking who I was but she told them I didn t want them and for them to stop looking at me. After they
left I asked her what did they say and she said that one of them liked me. After that she got very quit
and didn t say anything the rest of the night. When we got off we did I normal routine, we would ride
around for a while and talked about the latest gossip, listen to music and then go home. But for some
weird reason Nicole wasn t as talkative as she normal was, she most sat back and listened to what I
said and nodded when she agreed with something. After we got tired of riding around I dropped her
off and went home. The next day when I got to school one of my classmates said that a girl named
Ashley was looking for me. I was like why? I knew who she was but I didn t talk to her. Well
apparently,, somebody had lied and told her I called her ugly and a hoe. I was confused because I
never said that about her. After Ashley and I talked she said she didn t have a problem with me and
wonder what she did for me to call her that and I told her I did say anything. After that conversation,
everything was fine between us and we moved on. The next week when I got to school there was as
rumor about me being a gold digger and hoe going around the school, and

Taking The Castle of Otranto as your example, outline the main conventions of the Gothic novel, and

Northanger
Abbey most accurately described as parody of the Gothic genre, or is there a more complicated
relationship going on?
Gothic novels purport to revive old stories and beliefs, exploring personal, psychical encounters with
the taboo (Williams, 2000). The genre, as typified by The Castle of Otranto by Horace Walpole,
involves a beautiful innocent young woman who is held captive by an older, powerful, evil ... Show

There are three gothic like aspects to the novel. The first is the character of the General as gothic
villain, patriarch and usurper and the Abbey as his gothic residence; the second is the exploration of
the dead mother s bedroom; and the final incident involves Catherine s expulsion from the Abbey.
Both the latter incidents end in very ordinary, anti climactic ways, in contrast to gothic stories. The
narrator also contrasts other ordinary incidents, with how they might have developed in a gothic
novel; for example, Catherine s journey to
Bath is accomplished with suitable quietness and uneventful safety.
Neither robbers nor tempests befriend them, nor one lucky overturn to introduce them to the hero
(Austen, 1933, p19).
Many commentators have concluded that Northanger Abbey is a parody of the Gothic genre. Whether
or not one agrees with this view depends on the definition of parody that one accepts. The Penguin

The Civil War And The Reconstruction Period Essay
Introduction: American Industrialization emerged from the ruins of the Civil War and the ... of the
Reconstruction Period. Spurred by the new manufacturing technologies brought over from Great
Britain, and the rest of Europe, factories and mills began emerging across the American landscape,
slowly transforming the United States from an agrarian society to one increasingly industrialized and
urbanized. From 1860 1900, the nation of rural towns, local crafts, family farms, and regional
business, became dominated by sprawling cities, enormous commercial farms and powerful
corporations. By the turn of the twentieth century, the United States of America, had become a major
power base, with the birth of factories and mills, the burgeoning of cities, the continued westward
expansion, and the creation of the transcontinental railroad. However, just as America was welcomed
into her glory, the country was riddled with the evils of poverty, mass consumerism, labour disruption,
and increasing political, cultural, and environmental conflicts. Prior to 1860, America was a
geographically isolated society, however with the advent of the transcontinental railroad, America
became interconnected. In 1861, Congress authorized the joining of the Central Pacific and Union
Pacific railways. The Irish immigrants, and Southern African Americans of the Union Pacific railroad,
and the Chinese immigrants of the Union Pacific worked tirelessly for eight years, until on May, 10,

minutes in length.
The world s companies, governments and non profits have delivery armies that are fully capable of
covering this relatively small area. We just lack the will... Significant Humanity actually solved
agricultural poverty a century ago, in theory. We just haven t delivered these things to everybody just
yet. In this century, the reason that people remain poor is because maybe they live in remote places.
They lack access to these things. Therefore, ending poverty is simply a matter of delivering proven
goods and services to people. We don t need more genius types right now. The humble delivery guy is
going to end global poverty in our lifetime. Interesting

Reflections. I thought the Andrew youn video 3 reasons how we can win the fight against poverty is a
great initiative and good idea to alleviate poverty. I appreciated the thought he is sharing in the video
and how its possible to end poverty in our current generation among farmers, particularly the sub
Saharan African region. It s surprising how the scale of which to provide farmers with tools, supplies,
education, etc. is surprisingly small when compared to eastern map of the USA. I think the work he is
doing in his own fund of running it is remarkable. I strongly believe his program is creating more jobs
especially in under developed countries. I liked the idea how the whole program itself

The Ascent Of Mount Ventoux Summary
The Renaissance was a cultural, economic, and political movement that emerged in Italy in the
fifteenth century. The Renaissance marked the leap from the Medieval era to the Modern Age and
brought with it a great cultural transformation, not only of the arts, but also of the sciences, letters and
forms of thought. Francesco Petrarch and Giovanni Pico Della Mirandola were two Renaissance men
who changed the ideals and ways of seeing the world that emerged during the Medieval Age.
In the letter The Ascent of Mount Ventoux , Petrarch describes his human experience when he climbed
Mount Ventoux with his brother and his two servants. The reason why Petrarch wanted to achieve this
goal was for the simple fact of living a personal experience. Petrarch declared that my only motive
was the wish to see what so great an elevation had to offer. This statement allows us to observe the ...

In medieval thought, everything revolved around god and the church, where personal motives had no
purpose if they had no relationship with any divine being. Petrarch s personal experience had no
purpose in glorifying or seeking God, but rather in discovering truth and happiness on his own. This
new way of thinking was considered part of the Renaissance because Petrarch uses reason as a source
of knowledge, and seeks the truth through personal reflection and research.
On the other hand, Giovanni had to analyze and question a concept different from Petrarch. For
Giovanni, the idea of Abdala the Sarraceno and Hermes Trismegisto that man is an intermediary
between creatures and interpreter of nature by sense, reason and intelligence, are not enough to
understand the condition of human nature. In the Oration on the Dignity of Man written in 1486,
Giovanni explains to us why man is the most fortunate and prestigious being in the world, and why the
human being is an intermediary between animals and angels

The Latino community is already a vulnerable community in that some do not speak the native

child to understand. Reporters have stated that recently children have reportedly not been coming to
school out of fear of deportation and deportation officials. This fear is real for some children living in
Charlotte, and can not only create anxiety, but can also be a cause of trauma in the life of an
undocumented Latino child. This fear is heartbreaking as an undocumented child already has several
obstacles to overcome that native born children do not. This executive order is only adding stress and

Persuasive Essay On Concealed Handguns
If you are an adult, do you or someone you know carry a concealed handgun with you?
It s very beneficial for many reasons. It can help keep you safe if you are far away from the police
station,or don t have cell service. People carrying concealed handguns can help stop shooting sprees
before to many people get hurt. And some people think that carrying a concealed handgun could make
others without them feel unsafe, but the majority of people who carry a concealed handgun obey the
law.
Most adults who carry a concealed handgun follow the law. Nick Leghorn, who has a blog called
Truth About Guns , says this. In Texas, the general public is 5.3 times more likely to be arrested by for
violent offenses, and 14 times more likely to be arrested for nonviolent offenses. Nick also found that
people in North Carolina who carry concealed handguns in North Carolina are 5 times less likely to
commit murder than the general public. The Christian Science Monitor says The number of incidents
in which concealed gun carriers kill innocent people is a fraction of 1 percent of all gun related
homicides. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Essay On Sports History
Thanks to a wild and crazy night at Madison Square Garden Saturday night, the UFC has three new
champions. Some tagged UFC 217 as the best card of the year, and the event certainly lived up to the
hype. The card gave people what they want to see out of a high priced event: finishes. Some were
more unexpected than others, but the event was quite a spectacle and now opens a forum of many
questions heading into 2018. In the first of the three title fights, and perhaps the most shocking, Rose

A Brief Note On The Independent Contractors Organizations
Gregory Long
June 4, 2015
ACM 395 (Pricing)
Professor Adina Peyton
Independent Contractors Introduction Independent contractors are hired and used for various reasons
by companies. Probably one of the main reason businesses hire independent contractors is that it will
save the company money in the long run. Independent contractors are not employees of the company
for which they are hired. They are ultimately hired to perform a service or provide a good for a fee.
The definition of a contractor,
Independent entity that agrees to furnish certain number or quantity of goods, material, equipment,
personnel, and/ or services that meet or exceed stated requirements or specifications, at a mutually
agreed upon price and within ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A good independent contractor should have good networking skills. Most independent contractors use
subcontractors to complete the job. By having good networking skills, independent contractors are
able to hire subcontractors that are able to come in and help the project progress at a much faster pace
and ultimately finish the job on time. Most would say reliability is the most important trait of all.
When companies hire independent contractors they hope that the contractors is very reliable. Reliable
in the sense that they are able to meet all the requirement and deadlines outlined in the contract. If
companies have concerns about the reliability of an independent contractor, they should move on to
another contractor because in the long haul the job will not get accomplished which will lead to
headaches in the future. Competitive pricing is also important when selecting a contractor. Hiring a
contractor because of price is not always the best practice. Deciding which price to go with can be a
challenging task when it comes to hiring a contractor. According to Murphy (2009), the sellers wants
to make as much money as possible and the buyer wants to save as much as possible . When
companies receive quotes from contractors that are extremely low or high those could be red flags.
Extremely low could mean that the

Essay on Greek Mythology and Hercules
Capturing the Herculean Hero Ancient Greek and Roman mythology are polytheistic religions that
emerged in Western Europe thousands of years ago. Both cultures believe in mostly the same gods and
demigods, also known as half gods, but have different names to designate them. Perhaps the most
famous demigod known most notably for his superhuman strength is Hercules, the Roman name for
the Greek demigod Heracles. The superman like figure is even more popular in mythology than
certain gods and goddesses. Over time, artists and sculptors have attempted to depict Hercules through
different types of material and physical poses. Although each depiction has its own individuality in the
material by which it was created and the stance the demigod ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

He also draws the viewer s eye to Hercules in particular by using chiaroscuro (Sporre 60) and
contrasting light and shade. The artist highlights the hero with light colors for a skin tone and
engulfing him with dark and gloomy colors. One of the most intriguing features of this piece of work
is the muscle definition in Hercules s body and Zurbaran s ability to capture the demigod in motion.
Hercules is shown as an extremely toned tall, young man with a dark beard and thick hair. By the
creases in his leg muscles, Hercules is sent in motion and it is evident that the hero is using all his
might to pull the beast towards him in order to control him. Thousands of years ago, before artists
work fell into the category and style of art that existed during their time period, art was portrayed
mostly through carved slabs or marble or stone. Art has existed since years before the Common Era
and date all the way back to prehistory. It has helped historians and scientists understand the lifestyles
in which past civilizations had followed. In Ancient Rome and Greece, for example, many artists
sculpted religious figures in accordance to their polytheistic, mythological beliefs. Almost every artist,
if not all, of these sculptures remains unknown to this day but their work lives on to inspire others.

Examples Of Teenage Rebellion In Romeo And Juliet
Teenage rebellion is a frequent theme in stories. The tragic love story written by William Shakespeare,
Romeo and Juliet, is an example of teenage rebellion because there are two teenagers, each

their sides immensely abhor each other. However, Romeo and Juliet attempt to fight through the

Gospel Of Mark Analysis
Bible Scholar David Garland points to two possibilities as to why Mark s Gospel is written in a
narrative style or form. Garland believes the Gospel of Mark either came from an oral story circulating
in the Jerusalem church or it came from a firsthand account of the Apostle Peter. Some bible scholars
point to the idea that the Gospel of Mark was narrativized, so it could be heard rather than be read
silently. Bible scholar Robert Tannehill believes the Gospel of Mark may even have been collected
and delivered orally before it was ever written down. Michael Licona believes if a certain text appears
in all three Synoptics, the Gospel of Mark is the most likely source for Matthew and Luke s accounts.
Licona notes that this rule should not be held hard and fast, since Mark may also have been using an
oral story while Matthew and Luke choose another source or omitted material where it differs in each
of their Gospel s. The Apostle Peter seems to be the eyewitness account which Mark narrates into a
single unified story, which centers around a single central figure Jesus and a group of His closest
companions. If the author of Mark was using an oral story to write his gospel from, this would
definitely explain its narrative style.
Some other evidence which points to the Gospel Mark being an oral story being written down is its
brevity and action where the other gospels such as Luke, which is longer having 24 chapters of more
and 1,100 versus. The Gospel of Mark is the shortest

Unions and Political Economy
Union Articles Are union locals independent of employers or are they incorporated into the
management of the workplace? Union locals are not incorporated into the management of the
workplace. The most important objective of unions is to protect workers interests against management
s interests. This is because, in most cases, the interests of managers and those of workers are very
much different. Workers are interested in increasing their salaries, in reducing their volume of work,
and in improving workplace conditions. Managers are interested in increasing profits while reducing
investments. Therefore, negotiations must be made between the two parties. Workers must unite and
select certain people that can represent their interests in these negotiations. This is how unions were
developed. However, union locals are not independent of employers. This is because union members
and their leaders are employees of the company in case. The quality of union members and leaders is
added to the quality of employees, but this does not mean that union locals are independent of
employers. The power of employees against their employers can significantly increase when they are
union members. In addition to this, union leaders influence their members. The politics within unions
can take the form of democracies or oligarchies. In most cases, oligarchies are formed within union
members. This is usually the case when a small group of union members takes control of other
members, and

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Early on, within the opening scene, the headmaster addresses the students about the importance of keeping tradition, within the school and their personal lives. Due to the ways tradition has been ingrained into their lives, the group of boys is reluctant to explore new grounds. Charlie stands obediently, listening to the teachers, Neil continues his monotonous life, and Knox admires Chris Noel from afar. Due to current societal norms, Charlie is forbidden from even considering to disobey a teacher, Neil is tied to his life by a stern father, and Knox cannot make his move on Chris while she has a boyfriend. However, after meeting, Mr. Keating the boys soon learn to move on from societal constraints that bound them to their misery. He actively encourages the boys to individualize themselves, they shouldn t adhere to tradition if it makes them miserable. Because of his advice, the boys choose to pursue their dreams, Charlie begins to rebel by writing an article that asks why girls can t go to Welton, which defies the tradition of the school. Neil pursues acting and lands the leading role in the production of A Midsummer Night s Dream, to the dismay of his father, and Knox goes after Chris. All these acts of defiance were in pursuit of their happiness and catalyzed by their teacher. Many audience members will find these youthful acts of defiance reminiscent of their own youth, the classic rebellious teenage years. Since the audience has also acted similarly to these youths, they project themselves into our protagonists as they reject tradition. Ultimately, these acts of rebellion allow the audience to be a part of the story without breaking the fourth wall, and in the end when the Keating s class stand to salute him, we feel the triumphant warmth as ... Adam Mohamed Application of Genetic Engineering on Taro Literature Review The article Genetic Engineering to Improve Quality, Productivity and Value of Crops by Abhaya Dandekar provides information on the various benefits that genetic engineering allows for in a plant. Regarding nutritional benefits, genes that concern the production of healthy amino acids, oils, and other substances can be edited, removed, or introduced to increase the abundance of these helpful substances, allowing for generally healthier crops. Studies on the popular plant Arabidopsis thaliana have revealed much about influencing when a plant will begin to flower. This research is valuable in that it permits a better understanding of how to control the length of the period of time between the growing stage of a plant, and the flowering stage (when it can be harvested). In crops such as cabbage, the flowering stage can be stopped altogether, letting the leaves themselves be harvested, instead of having the plant die after flowering. Influencing the heat or cold resistance of a plant could allow for the crop to grow in temperatures that it normally wouldn t be able to, such as having genetically modified bananas manage to grow in a ... (London: The Project Gutenberg eBook, 2005) In his book, The Interesting Narrative of the Life Olaudah Equiano or Gustavus Vassa, The African. Written by Himself, Olaudah Equiano describes his life from the time he was captured and enslaved at a young age to his journey to freedom. Throughout his book he recalls his culture back in Africa and compares it with the strange, and obscure observations of his experience during his time as a slave. Equiano sometimes struggles with his thoughts on slavery and his particular situations sometimes contradict his judgments. During his time as a slave, Equiano faces a journey that challenges him mentally, physically, and spiritually. Through his journey, Equiano finds that the pathway to freedom is through intellectual development, and his new religious finding of God through the bible. To make his argument, Olaudah Equiano starts his narrative by describing the village he was from and their customs so that his readers can understand his background. Equiano was from the village where in his culture manners are simple, and luxuries are few . (53) His village is known as Essaku in the Kingdom of Benin, Africa. In his village, Equiano was not aware of those who did not look like him. He had never heard or seen of white people. Though he did not know of white people, he already ... • 12. Industrial Revolution Working Class Throughout the years, science and technology have developed exponentially through the work of several scientists and researchers. By the 1800s, citizens craved comfort and wanted jobs to be done faster. These desires created the Industrial Revolution and the age of mass production. This prompted new technology and faster ways to save lives. Now, citizens have internet on their phones, GPS tracking systems, and live longer. However, while the Revolution was prosperous in the long run, it deeply affected people during the 1800s. During the Industrial Revolution, people worked strenuously, the emerging middle class could afford to spend more on daily business, and quality of life at home decreased. At the beginning of the Industrial Revolution, the working class who made up 80% of society had little bargaining power with their new bosses. Working conditions were very tough, and sometimes tragic. Factory employers demanded a complete change of pace and discipline from the village life. Laborers worked twelve hours a day, six days a week, without vacations or holidays. There were safety hazards at the job as well due to the dangerous machinery they had to work with. Under such dangerous conditions, accidents occurred regularly. The majority of the workers also saw very little social mobility during work. But, during the ... Disadvantages Of Pesticides INTRODUCRION Pesticides and their alternatives are an undeniable part of modern life, used to protect everything from flower gardens to agricultural crops from specific pests (Saravi Shokrzadeh, 2011) Pesticides are considered a vital component of modern farming, playing a major role in maintaining high agricultural productivity. Consequently, in high input intensive agricultural production systems, the widespread use of pesticides to manage pests has emerged as a dominant feature (Saravi Shokrzadeh, 2011) Pesticides comprise a large number of substances that belong to many different chemical classes, they are applied to crops at various stages of cultivation to provide protection against pests and during post harvest storage to preserve quality, to ensure the safety of food for consumers and regulate international trade and legislation. Pesticides are considered to be essential for agricultural development; some of them can cause serious ambient contamination, principally in food (Sitta et al., 2000; Gonzalez et al., 2003). At this point King Agamemnon is now asked to walk down the purple tapestry with Casandra following along to his impending doom. One of her visions was that there were men hiding inside the Trojan Horse, her claims were believed by one but then swiftly repressed. This quandary of Cassandras follows her throughout Agamemnon, in her brief scene with the chorus/audience. After Clytemnestra exits the room, Cassandra screams in horror to Apollo, asking why he was leading her to her death. She cries to the chorus; I mourn the marriage, Paris marriage, that doomed his own people (Aeschylus 155 157), this refers to the fall of Troy and the prophecies she told. If Paris would have believed her she would not be in the house of death and the city of Troy would still stand. We can see that throughout the scene with Cassandra and the Chorus, she reveals that her murder and Agamemnon will take place in his house. She predicts her imminent death, as well as Agamemnon s, at the hands of a woman that she calls bitch . By this time, the Chorus replies; we find, though, that we trust your prophecies (Aeschylus 1213). With that being said, we can see a turn in what is seen as her curse, the chorus believes her but will do nothing to help her. Some parallels can be seen between Cassandra and Tiresias, the Seer, from Oedipus and Antigone in the sense that the both speak the truth but are not believed. Competitive pricing is also important when selecting a contractor. Hiring a contractor because of price is not always the best practice. Deciding which price to go with can be a challenging task when it comes to hiring a contractor. According to Murphy (2009), the sellers wants to make as much money as possible and the buyer wants to save as much as possible . When companies receive quotes from contractors that are extremely low or high those could be red flags. Extremely low could mean that the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 38. Gospel Of Mark Analysis Bible Scholar David Garland points to two possibilities as to why Mark s Gospel is written in a narrative style or form. Garland believes the Gospel of Mark either came from an oral story circulating in the Jerusalem church or it came from a firsthand account of the Apostle Peter. Some bible scholars point to the idea that the Gospel of Mark was narrativized, so it could be heard rather than be read silently. Bible scholar Robert Tannehill believes the Gospel of Mark may even have been collected and delivered orally before it was ever written down. Michael Licona believes if a certain text appears in all three Synoptics, the Gospel of Mark is the most likely source for Matthew and Luke s accounts. Licona notes that this rule should not be held hard and fast, since Mark may also have been using an oral story while Matthew and Luke choose another source or omitted material where it differs in each of their Gospel s. The Apostle Peter seems to be the eyewitness account which Mark narrates into a single unified story, which centers around a single central figure Jesus and a group of His closest companions. If the author of Mark was using an oral story to write his gospel from, this would definitely explain its narrative style. Some other evidence which points to the Gospel Mark being an oral story being written down is its brevity and action where the other gospels such as Luke, which is longer having 24 chapters of more and 1,100 versus. Union locals are not incorporated into the management of the workplace. The most important objective of unions is to protect workers interests against management s interests.
