Summary Of Ineos US LLC
On July 1, 2015 at 11:51pm, Blount county dispatch received a call reporting that a CSX tank car
was reported to be on fire. CSX response personnel reported to the scene and found that one of
their trains had derailed and in the process toppled a loaded tank car of Acrylonitrile Stabilized.
Damages incurred to the tank car during the derailment resulted in product release and a subsequent
fire. The shipper, INEOS USA LLC, was notified utilizing CHEMTREC Report 2015 0702 00010 (
Acrylonitrile, stable , 2017). While this particular incident is slightly outside of my community, I
found it very interesting upon observing recent rail shipments and noticed the rather common
nature of this item s movement. I then researched the chemical... Show more content on

Per Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) guidelines, it is best during massive fire events to
withdraw from the area and let burn off take place ( NOAA , 2017). The points of interest that
made me choose this particular item are common interaction among general public, and what I
would perceive as a very trying response and ensuing recovery effort that would take place should
a large scale fire and/or spill take place. In a best case scenario, the chemical could be readily
identified allowing for a proper response by emergency responders, with proper precautionary gear
to protect themselves as well, and the evacuation of the surrounding area. However, it appears that
acts of terrorism are becoming better planned, rather than random, less detrimental incidents as past
history such as shoe bombers and such. Utilizing such a chemical in a discreet manner, rendering
identification difficult if not impossible, would provide rather substantial physical effects with all
the reactive, flammable, health, and incompatible issues that are identified with acrylonitrile alone,
much more so even when shipped with possible interactive components, and then the actual desired
traumatic emotional effects associated with acts of terror as well. The issues encountered by

The Biochemical Changes In Apollo Missions
From 1961 to 1972, the government funded organization NASA ran the Apollo program, which
attempted to land humans on the Moon and bring them back to Earth safely. Of the program s 16
successful flights, five flights landed men on the Moon and a total of twelve men walked on the
Moon. Samples taken from the Moons surface paved the way for enormous discoveries and
increased understanding about space, natural elements and our Moon s composition. However, one
aspect of discovery that the Apollo missions enabled was the discovery of the human body s
reaction to space and weightless environments. One scientific report, funded and published by
NASAitself, studied the biochemical changes in Apollo astronauts during their missions. The report

Ingenico And Verifone Case Study
What lies in the future for Ingenico and Verifone with the rise of regional POS manufacturers and
mobile wallets? The market for payment processing terminals manufacturing and payment
processing has been globally duopolistic until recently. This was dominated by the two companies
established in 1980 s, Verifone, based out of the US and Ingenico, based out of France.
Traditionally, the industry was marked by entry barriers in the form of high initial capital
requirement, a high research, development and innovation requirements and long gestation period
required to obtain certification in a country. These entry barriers helped Ingenico and Verifone to
dominate the global POS market. In addition, over the period these companies built a strong
collaboration with payment processing companies such as Visa and MasterCard for the
development of new technologies and eliminated potential competition through the acquisition of
firms developing innovative technology. Duopolistic... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Theme Of Relationships In Of Mice And Men
Of Mice and Men is a film which was produced in 1992 but set in 1937 during the Great
Depression in the United States. Spies (by Michael Frayn) was published in 2002 and mainly set
during World War II. George Milton and Lennie Small from Of Mice and Men are migrant
workers who travel around California looking for work. These characters are unusual because the
majority of migrant workers at this time were loners whereas these characters are best friends.
They are also so different from each other which also makes them unusual. Stephen Wheatley and
Keith Hayward from Spies also maintained a friendship, different to George and Lennie s. Stephen
feels as if Keith had total superiority but turned a blind eye to it. Stephen and Keith were
adolescent boys who spied on Keith s mother. Both texts explore the theme of relationship and
power, but in different ways. Of Mice and Men explores the theme of relationship through different
characters, but mainly through George and Lennie. Their friendship was unique as during the Great
Depression, it was rare to see ranch workers stick together and form friendships the way George
and Lennie had. Lennie was portrayed as a grown man with a childish mind, which was why he
was so dependent on George. This was a positive relationship in this text even though George
demanded Lennie around, it was for his own good. The different camera techniques in this text help
capture the essence of their relationship which include over the shoulder shots and

Religion In The 19th Century
A set of beliefs, rituals, and practices that serve to define the matter of existence; religion. Present
in society, religion sets precedents unifying its followers but religion also can prove to be a
centrifugal force within large countries. The more diverse a country is, the more it fosters different
views and perspectives. These opposing sides happen to restrict reforming policies in government
and affects societal norms. This is exemplified in the Ottoman Empire, where its state religionof
Islambecame costly in creating a cohesive life for its citizens. During the 19th century, the Muslim
world lost a lot of its cultural and political sovereignty which indicated a shift in the political
landscape of the world and a technological gap between both societies (Baraz, 2010). The Ottoman
government failed to initiate any progress and exercised a conservative approach to issues. This

Shintoism, Buddhism and Confucianism are numerous religions in Japan however all three
doctrines showed an importance in nature and an individual s surroundings. With Japan being
homogenous, this one common concept kept the whole public together because they shared a
common belief. Whereas, Ottomans prioritized the religion of Islam even though they still allowed
other religions to exist. Unfortunately for the minorities, they had to pay taxes such as the jizya.
This action taken by the Ottoman government showed a preference to who they supported which
then spurred ideas of independence or revolution from different religious groups or even sects such
as Jews. The ethnic build up of the Ottoman Empire always prevented them from creating an
Ottoman identity hence the different cultures present within the territory. Religion proved to be a

Not to worry, since this is not too complicated but involves a bit more creativity and imagination.
Prepare some water, some fabric paint and a few sponges. For more simple shapes, use regular
sponges (square, circle) but if you want to take your roller blind decoration a step further, purchase
some sponges in different shapes like flowers, animals, fruits or simply make some on your own.
You could probably do this while the blind is still hanging, but we would suggest you take it
down to make your work smoother. Dip the sponge into some previously determined color and
swiftly press it onto the blind surface. Make sure you apply enough color, since you do not want
your bunny shape to turn into nothing more than a smudge. Repeat the process as many time you
like, changing the colors and shapes and leave to dry.

ACTIVITY 1: THE RESTING MEMBRANE POTENTIAL
1. Explain why increasing extracellular K+ reduces the net diffusion of K+ out the neuron through
the K+ leak channels?
When the diffusion is greater on one side, the other side will slow down.
2. Explain why increasing extracellular K+ causes the membrane potential to change to a less
negative value. How well did the results compare with your predictions?
There are two potassium s for every sodium so the increase of potassium will make it more
negative. Prediction was correct.
3. Explain why a change in extracellular Na+ did not alter the membrane potential in the resting
neuron?
The sodium channels are mostly closed during the resting state.

1.Define the term threshold as it applies to an action potential.
It is the transmembrane potential at which an action potential begins.
2.What change in membrane potential (depolarization or hyperpolarization) triggers an action
potential?
Depolarization
3.How did the action potential at R1 (or R2) change as you increased the stimulus voltage above
the threshold voltage? How well did the results compare with your prediction?
It did not change. Prediction incorrect.
4. An action potential is an all or nothing event. Explain what is meant by this phrase.
All stimuli that bring the membrane to threshold generate identical action potentials. The properties
of the action potential are independent of the relative strength of depolarizing stimuli.

The Importance Of A Transformational Leader As One Essay
Coleman (2005) describes a transformational leader as one who is a role model, building capacity
in others who follow. A leader with high standards of ethical and moral conduct.
These ideas have guided my leadership. Working with teachers I provide examples and feedback
for others to build on. As a principal, responsible for change, action research is an important
component of transforming our school and community culture. Thus, action research plays a strong
influence in the search for democracy and cross cultural leadership in my work environment.
Context/ Background.
Unearthing my own Maori and Pakeha identity has led me on a journey of discovery and interest in
early New Zealand social anthropology and ethnography. The literature of Elsdon
Best, Edward Tregear and S. Percy Smith has helped shape the hegemony of post colonial New
Zealand. Indeed, much of what I learned in high school about the history of New
Zealand came from their ethnographic research.

I am also fascinated by the on going discourse of post colonial criticism by researchers such as
Salmond, Binney and Sissons of the early ethnographic work. And, further to this, my interest
follows into the juxtaposition of cultural considerations surrounding kaupapa Maori by Maori for
Maori with the notion of Pakeha contribution, critical friends towards such research. I will expand
on this as a basis for my

The Density Of Water Is Its Mass Divided By Its Volume
The density of water is its mass divided by its volume. In this case, the mass of water was
determined by subtracting the final mass of the glassware with water by the initial mass of the
glassware without water. The volume was determined by observing closely which line (marked
on the sides of each glassware) the water reached and reporting the most precise measurement.
Based on the class data, the average densities of water and its standard deviations were: 50 mL
beaker avg: 0.90 g/mL, stand dev: 0.12, 10 mL graduated cylinder avg: 0.980 g/mL, stand dev:
0.0600, 10 mL volumetric pipette avg: 0.9800 g/mL, stand. dev: 0.06499, 50 mL burette avg:
0.969 g/mL, stand. dev: 0.140. The average densityof water compares our experimental value to the
true value. This means that the closer our values are to the true density of water, which is
approximately 0.998 g/mL at 18.89В°C, the more accurate our data is. Furthermore, the standard
deviationmeasures how precise our results are with one another. Based on the four data sets of the
class, the most precise volumetric glassware is the 10 mL graduated cylinder because its standard
deviation is the lowest. This lower value indicates that this glassware consistently yielded similar
densities of water more often than other glassware. Although tied with the volumetric pipette, the
graduated cylinder is also the most accurate volumetric glassware because the resulting average of
its water densities is closest to the real density of

Dj Kol Herc History
Industry of Hip Hop
Where did hip hop originate and who were its founder? Like any style of music, hip hop has
roots in other forms, and its evolution was shaped by many different artists, but there s a case to
be made that it came to life precisely on this day, August 11, 1973, in the west Bronx, New York

and raised to the age of 10 in Kingston, Jamaica, DJ Kool Herc began spinning records at parties

1970s. Herc often emulated the style of Jamaican selectors (DJs) by toasting (i.e., talking) over
the records he spun, but his historical significance has nothing to do with rapping. Kool Herc s
contribution to hip hop was even more fundamental. Born and raised to the age of 10 in

Not all would call him a Christian scholar, but he was the most interesting second century Christian
and also the most detrimental to the development of early Christianity and his name was Marcion.
In this essay I will be explaining who Marcion is and why he was so important for the development
of early Christianity. To start off my research paper my first resource was by Peter Head, The
Foreign God And The Sudden Christ : Theology And Christology In Marcion s GospelRedaction, in
which he talks about how many people back in the second century would not call Marcion a good
Christian, leader, or a reformer but was later a great influence for the New Testament. Head then
briefly introduces Marcion and who he was. Also, Peter Head... Show more content on

My next source by David William, Reconsidering Marcion s Gospel, addresses in his article that
Marcion was gathered from multiple different resources. Marcion s gospel was not written into
the text and was basically the same thoughts as Paul just with a few different ideas. Williams
also states his three general findings that he has as he studied Marcion thought out his life.
Around 144 AD Marcion expressed his beliefs to everyone and not just to the church. Most
people at that time thought that his beliefs were outrageous and they were frowned upon in that
society. Marcion still believed what he thought was right and created his own church. Even
though he knew that giving his opinion on religion was not a good idea during that time period
he still did and got followers that believed in what he was creating. Everyone that followed his
lead and believed the same thing that he did were called Marcionites. (Head) According to
David Williams not much information on Marcion s gospel is found. Most of the information is
gathered up from references and quotes found in other literatures. (Williams) Marcion s gospel
that they have pieced together are said to look exactly like Luke s gospel. If Marcion was asked
the question himself, he would say that he was more like Paul rather than Luke. Marcion s belief
was in some ways similar to Gnostic Christian theology. Marcion was considered not a good

Compare And Contrast Presidential System And United States
In Chapter 5 of American Difference, the authors contrasted the U.K. and U.S. democratic systems.
Liberal and social democracies differ in many ways. Comparing the United States presidential
system with the United Kingdom s parliamentary system provides excellent example of how. One
of the main differences, laid out by Arend Lijphart, lies in the within the type of democracy
consociational or majoritarian.
The United Kingdom is a majoritarian democracy. This means that they have elections that leave
one party in control of the government. This type of democracy can be broken down into several
pieces. It has a national government with sovereignty, one party system with a two party system,
unicameral legislature, no judicial review, an easily adapted constitution, and a unitary system.
When a national government ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some of those characteristics include shared executive power, checks and balances, a multi party
system, bicameral legislature, a difficult to change constitution, judicial review, and a federal
system. Consociational democracies produce multiple competitive parties, which means that more
than one party controls legislature and the execution of laws. A federal system is two or more
layers of government, with power and authority separate of the national government.
Both the United States and the United Kingdom have an executive branch and a cabinet. In the
U.K., the executive branch is divided into the head of state (the Queen) and the head of government
(Prime Minister). In the U.S. the president is both the head of state and government. In the
parliamentary cabinet, the electorate elects the parliament. The parliament provides the majority
support for prime minister and the cabinet. The U.S. presidential system is much different. The
executive is led by the president, and the president elects his or her cabinet (or body of advisors)
and legislature has to approve

Engstrom plant was concentrating on cost savings, producing more per hour of labor spent.
Scatlon plan was working very well for some period of time by increasing productivity and
employees motivation, higher profits and employees receiving good financial rewards. However, by
the year of 2007 situation at plant started getting worse which led to the conclusion that famous
Scatlon plan was not effective anymore.
First of all, occurred distrust that bonuses are not calculated in truthful way. Employees started
doubting company s complex nature of the calculation itself while appointing amounts of bonuses.
Secondly, there was a question of fairness when some employees thought that they should receive
more bonuses as they are putting more efforts and work than other ones. As a consequence such
moods at workplace led to the primary stage when Scatlon plan had not been adopted yet:
employees became passive, work became inefficient and employers started layoffs.
Therefore, it leads to the conclusion that in this case the main issue is appropriate employees
motivation and satisfying job conditions, which could be achieved by choosing right incentives
plan. However, sticking to the same incentives plan also might not be a good idea because people

The Wizard Of Oz Literary Analysis
The Value of Literature:
The epic journey to find the promised land in The Wizard of Oz
Every character in The Wizard of Oz has a reason for going to Emerald city, each have the same
reason but are all in search of something different. Their reasoning for going to the promise land,
Emerald city, is to find the Great Wizard, Oz. Although they are all on a journey for Emerald city
and Oz, what they are in search of is very different as is each character. Through Archetypal Theory
it is shown that each character s reason for setting out on the journey to Emerald city distinguishes
their type of character. Their journey is to find the promised land. Although they are not aware, the
characters slowly gain what they originally set out to acquire throughout their journey, rather than
at their destination. Although the journey seems as easy as following the yellow brick road, there
are many obstacles the characters; the Scarecrow, Tin Woodmanand the Cowardly Lion, must face
throughout this novel. Through stages along their journey, the characters are all thrown into pivotal
positions that they do not realize the importance of. In turn, this results in a drastic development of
their characteristics. In these stages they are put in situations, which allows them to grow and
adapt to what they are seeking on their journey, are what allows them to earn what they were
seeking. Each character is in search for Oz so he may grant them one wish for whatever they
desire, for the Scarecrow;

look up. [...] He was conscious of failure and detection [...] (Joyce, 69) After opening Stephen s
essay to find the heresy in question, Mr. Tate proclaimed, Ah! without a possibility of ever
approaching nearer. That s heresy, to which Stephen mumbled, I meant without a possibility of
ever reaching (Joyce, 69). Stephen s intentional act of heresy points to his religious dissent.
Stephen is also a fan of Lord Byron s poetry. One night while walking, Stephen s classmates
began to discuss their favorite poets when one of the boys said that Lord Tennyson was his
favorite. At this Stephen forgot the silent vows he had been making and burst out: Tennyson a
poet! Why, he s only a rhymester! (Joyce, 71) They dismissed Stephen s claims and asked him
who he believes is the best poet, and Stephen said, Byron, of course (Joyce, 71). They all laughed
at Stephen s response and claimed that Byron was a poet for the uneducated people. Stephen
fervently defended his answer and was accused of being a heretic and immoral, like Byron
(Joyce, 71). Byron was viewed as a heretic by many people in the 19th century. Like Milton,
Byron topic of choice was religion, and his writing forced people to actively question

Music Is An Identifying Characteristic Of Film And Television
Music is an identifying characteristic of film and television; everyone who has been exposed to
popular culture knows the theme for Star Wars and The Simpsons, even if they have never seen
the movie or show. Disney movies are no exception, and this is largely due to the genius creative
mind of Alan Menken. Menken is best known for composing the scores for some of the most
beloved Disney classics, including Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Hercules,
Pocahontas, and Tangled. He also made his mark composing for highly acclaimed Broadway
musicals, including Little Shop of Horrorsand Newsies, as well as the stage adaptations of some of
his Disney hits. The familiar songs composed by Menken are permanently ingrained in our minds
and are largely responsible for the success of the films and theatrical works he was associated with.
Alan Menkenwas born on July 22nd, 1949 in New York City. He grew up in New Rochelle, New
York with his sisters, Faye and Leah. Menken s family was heavily involved in the performing
arts, setting the stage for his career at a young age. His mother, Judy Menken, was an aspiring
actress and playwright; his father, Norman Menken was a dentist but played boogie woogie and
show tunes on the piano as a hobby. Alan Menken aspired to be a composer from a young age, but
the men in his family typically became dentists and he felt that he was expected to continue this
tradition. However, he did learn to play the piano, violin, and guitar as he

Technology In The Han Dynasty And The Roman Empire
The Han dynasty and the Roman empire were two of the largest classical empires between 300
BCE to 300 CE and both experienced a period of expansion. These empires developed technology
to help with this expansion for military and practical purposes such as metallurgy and the water
mills. The Han dynasty used technology to prevent natural disasters, as well as make their tools
more efficient, whereas the Romans took pride in their own civilization s advancements, yet
refused to appreciate the lower class artisans who crafted the tools and artistry.
The Han dynasty showed an appreciation for technology and utilized it to make their society run
more efficiently; Chinese government ensured that adequate technology was provided for the
nobles and commoners alike, while the Roman government officials gave precedence to using
technology for infrastructure improvements and not necessarily towards welfare of the people.
During the early 2nd century BCE, a Han government official wrote to local officials on
organizing his labor force (Document 1). Water conservation offices were requested to be placed
in each of the districts and staffed with people who were experienced with the water passage. The
official focuses on ordering inspections throughout the empire, along with supplying workers to
tend to repairing duties. He showed concern for the common people and conveyed the idea that
technology is an essential part of the empire and the need for government intervention in order to

Overview of the Immune System and Cells
The immune system has dual natures in series with non self/self recognition being the most
important. Other natures are adaptive/nature or acquired/innate, secondary/primary, passive/active,
humoral/cell mediated and some parts or antigen specific. Antigen specific means when it
recognizes certain antigens it will act upon them. Some pats are systemic which is the don t just
stay at the infected area but go through the body and they have memory, so when they come the
same antigen again they know, they will attack it even stronger. The non self/self recognition is
every cell has marker based on the major histocompatibility complex and cells without this marker
or attacked as non self. This works so well that proteins that are not digested treated the same as
antigens.
There are certain diseases that break down the immune system and it attacks the self cells. These
diseases are called autoimmune and some of these are forms of diabetes and arthritis, systemic
lupus erythematosus and multiple sclerosis. When the immune system responds inappropriately to
innocuous substances such as allergies, this is called allergen.
The two fluid systems are the lymph and blood system are responsible for transporting the immune

seven percent of a person s body weight. Blood is made of fifty two to sixty two percent liquid

In the Middle Ages the Catholic Church teachings were based on the premise that salvation was
only possible through good works, or works of righteousness that pleased God. Luther came to
share Augustine s two central beliefs, which would later became the foundation of Protestantism.
Meanwhile, the practice of granting indulgences to provide absolution to sinners became the
Catholic Church s modus operandi for financial and was rigged with corruption. In 1517, a friar
named Johann Tetzel was a prominent seller of indulgences in Germany to raise funds to renovate
St. Peter s Basilica in Rome. Although it had been banned in Germany, the practice continued
undiminished
Luther raised a vigorous objection to the corrupt practice of selling indulgences because of his
commitment to the idea that God alone could grant salvation through faith and by divine grace. It
was upon his beliefs that Luther wrote the Disputation on the Power and Efficacy of Indulgences,
also known as The 95 Theses, a list of propositions and questions for debates. His 95 Theses were
a direct assault to the Catholic Church s corrupt practice of selling indulgences to absolve sin. His
actions led to him being excommunicated for the Catholic Church which considered his actions a

In Mary Oliver s The Black Walnut Tree , the tree is conveyed as a symbol of the preservation of
family heritage and as a source of inspiration for trials through Oliver s dramatic shifts in tone and
uplifting diction. The Black Walnut Tree illuminates the idea that preserving history is oftentimes
more important than immediate financial gain.
Throughout The Black Walnut Tree, the speaker is reminded of her forefathers while contemplating
her and her mother s predicament involving the removal of the obstructive tree. In line sixteen, the
poem shifts from a negative tone to a more positive one, for the speaker previously talked about the

The first few lines contain morbid diction such as churn , dark , and smashing in order to set up
a negative tone so that the true value of the tree that is later realized can be emphasized as much
as possible. For example, Oliver later writes that the speaker and her mother feel something
brighter that money moving in their blood, something calling them to dig and sow. The words
dig and sow are so much more positively moving than the negative words in the previous lines,
for they call the speaker and her mother to action while they don t do anything in a period of
inaction. Through the previously mentioned honor of their forefathers, the speaker and her mother
are motivated to dig and sow a better life for their future. Much like crops and trees that only yield
fruitful results after a long growing season, the speaker and her mother become momentarily
inspired by all the family heritage and labor that the walnut tree represents to do something more
productive than sitting around and debating on whether or not to sell their tree. Through the
lengthy decision process with the speaker, her mother, and their tree, Oliver illustrates an example
of the money acquired from a quick financial gain being much less valuable than the potential
wealth available through hard work inspired by a symbol of family

You can heat and cool just the rooms you choose. When a variable speed motor is combined with a
zoned system, your comfort is achieved, while providing a higher energy efficiency to a system that
is already extremely energy efficient on its own. Our technicians offer the installation, and the air
conditioning repair in Arlington, TX that you need.
How it Works
A variable speed motor does exactly what the name says it provides variable speeds of operation,
and delivers the speed required for the minute to minute needs. For example, when temperatures are
extreme, the motor operates at a higher speed. On the other hand, when temperatures are mild, the
motor operates at a slower speed, conserving energy. And reducing wear and tear on the motor.
Conventional fans operate at a single speed, consistently consuming a higher rate of electricity than
a lower speed fan would.
The variable speed fan differs from single, two or three speed fans, which operate at a set RPM
for each fan speed. A variable speed motor operates from 0 RPM to full speed and everything in
between. The fan sensors determine the airflow and dehumidification your home needs, and
provides it precisely. When increasing comfort and saving energy are important to you, consider the
benefits of a variable speed fan. Contact our HVAC technicians for additional information, or to

Essay On Death Of A Salesman A Slice Of America
Death of a Salesman: A Slice of Americana The concept of what constitutes American is a varied
as the people who make up America. Thinking about the global perspective of the concept, the
concept stratifies even more so. The opinion of those who love this country may say that
American is apple pie, fast cars, Friday night football, working hard, owning your own home, and
living the American Dream. The opinion of those who are not necessarily fans of America may
point out that we are materialistic, militaristic, brash, entitled, and greedy. Considering that Death
of a Salesman was written in 1949 in a less globally minded, post world War II economic boom
and sense of American pride, it would seem that the American feel given the play would pertain

My faith affects many aspects of my life such as my actions and decisions. The school that I go
to, the friends that I have made, and what I do on Sunday are all affected by the fact that I
practice the Roman Catholic faith. Being Catholic has had a positive influence on how I live
my life and how I survey the world. Being Catholic has made just about every part of my life
different. The schools that I have gone to since first grade have been Catholic schools. The
friends that I have made are because I am Catholic, and I also go to church almost every Sunday.
The impact that my faith has had on my life is not comprehensible. Activities like praying to
God and asking him for help has just become second nature because of how often I do it. In a

  • 2. Summary Of Ineos US LLC On July 1, 2015 at 11:51pm, Blount county dispatch received a call reporting that a CSX tank car was reported to be on fire. CSX response personnel reported to the scene and found that one of their trains had derailed and in the process toppled a loaded tank car of Acrylonitrile Stabilized. Damages incurred to the tank car during the derailment resulted in product release and a subsequent fire. The shipper, INEOS USA LLC, was notified utilizing CHEMTREC Report 2015 0702 00010 ( Acrylonitrile, stable , 2017). While this particular incident is slightly outside of my community, I found it very interesting upon observing recent rail shipments and noticed the rather common nature of this item s movement. I then researched the chemical... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Per Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) guidelines, it is best during massive fire events to withdraw from the area and let burn off take place ( NOAA , 2017). The points of interest that made me choose this particular item are common interaction among general public, and what I would perceive as a very trying response and ensuing recovery effort that would take place should a large scale fire and/or spill take place. In a best case scenario, the chemical could be readily identified allowing for a proper response by emergency responders, with proper precautionary gear to protect themselves as well, and the evacuation of the surrounding area. However, it appears that acts of terrorism are becoming better planned, rather than random, less detrimental incidents as past history such as shoe bombers and such. Utilizing such a chemical in a discreet manner, rendering identification difficult if not impossible, would provide rather substantial physical effects with all the reactive, flammable, health, and incompatible issues that are identified with acrylonitrile alone, much more so even when shipped with possible interactive components, and then the actual desired traumatic emotional effects associated with acts of terror as well. The issues encountered by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Biochemical Changes In Apollo Missions From 1961 to 1972, the government funded organization NASA ran the Apollo program, which attempted to land humans on the Moon and bring them back to Earth safely. Of the program s 16 successful flights, five flights landed men on the Moon and a total of twelve men walked on the Moon. Samples taken from the Moons surface paved the way for enormous discoveries and increased understanding about space, natural elements and our Moon s composition. However, one aspect of discovery that the Apollo missions enabled was the discovery of the human body s reaction to space and weightless environments. One scientific report, funded and published by NASAitself, studied the biochemical changes in Apollo astronauts during their missions. The report s main ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Ingenico And Verifone Case Study What lies in the future for Ingenico and Verifone with the rise of regional POS manufacturers and mobile wallets? The market for payment processing terminals manufacturing and payment processing has been globally duopolistic until recently. This was dominated by the two companies established in 1980 s, Verifone, based out of the US and Ingenico, based out of France. Traditionally, the industry was marked by entry barriers in the form of high initial capital requirement, a high research, development and innovation requirements and long gestation period required to obtain certification in a country. These entry barriers helped Ingenico and Verifone to dominate the global POS market. In addition, over the period these companies built a strong collaboration with payment processing companies such as Visa and MasterCard for the development of new technologies and eliminated potential competition through the acquisition of firms developing innovative technology. Duopolistic... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 5. Theme Of Relationships In Of Mice And Men Of Mice and Men is a film which was produced in 1992 but set in 1937 during the Great Depression in the United States. Spies (by Michael Frayn) was published in 2002 and mainly set during World War II. George Milton and Lennie Small from Of Mice and Men are migrant workers who travel around California looking for work. These characters are unusual because the majority of migrant workers at this time were loners whereas these characters are best friends. They are also so different from each other which also makes them unusual. Stephen Wheatley and Keith Hayward from Spies also maintained a friendship, different to George and Lennie s. Both texts explore the theme of relationship and power, but in different ways. Of Mice and Men explores the theme of relationship through different characters, but mainly through George and Lennie. Their friendship was unique as during the Great Depression, it was rare to see ranch workers stick together and form friendships the way George and Lennie had. Lennie was portrayed as a grown man with a childish mind, which was why he was so dependent on George. This was a positive relationship in this text even though George demanded Lennie around, it was for his own good. • 12. The Density Of Water Is Its Mass Divided By Its Volume The density of water is its mass divided by its volume. In this case, the mass of water was determined by subtracting the final mass of the glassware with water by the initial mass of the glassware without water. The volume was determined by observing closely which line (marked on the sides of each glassware) the water reached and reporting the most precise measurement. Based on the class data, the average densities of water and its standard deviations were: 50 mL beaker avg: 0.90 g/mL, stand dev: 0.12, 10 mL graduated cylinder avg: 0.980 g/mL, stand dev: 0.0600, 10 mL volumetric pipette avg: 0.9800 g/mL, stand. dev: 0.06499, 50 mL burette avg: 0.969 g/mL, stand. dev: 0.140. The average densityof water compares our experimental value to the true value. This means that the closer our values are to the true density of water, which is approximately 0.998 g/mL at 18.89В°C, the more accurate our data is. Furthermore, the standard deviationmeasures how precise our results are with one another. Based on the four data sets of the class, the most precise volumetric glassware is the 10 mL graduated cylinder because its standard deviation is the lowest. This lower value indicates that this glassware consistently yielded similar densities of water more often than other glassware. Although tied with the volumetric pipette, the graduated cylinder is also the most accurate volumetric glassware because the resulting average of its water densities is closest to the real density of ... Williams also states his three general findings that he has as he studied Marcion thought out his life. Around 144 AD Marcion expressed his beliefs to everyone and not just to the church. Most people at that time thought that his beliefs were outrageous and they were frowned upon in that society. Marcion still believed what he thought was right and created his own church. Even though he knew that giving his opinion on religion was not a good idea during that time period he still did and got followers that believed in what he was creating. Everyone that followed his lead and believed the same thing that he did were called Marcionites. (Head) According to David Williams not much information on Marcion s gospel is found. Most of the information is gathered up from references and quotes found in other literatures. (Williams) Marcion s gospel that they have pieced together are said to look exactly like Luke s gospel. If Marcion was asked the question himself, he would say that he was more like Paul rather than Luke. Marcion s belief was in some ways similar to Gnostic Christian theology. Liberal and social democracies differ in many ways. Comparing the United States presidential system with the United Kingdom s parliamentary system provides excellent example of how. One of the main differences, laid out by Arend Lijphart, lies in the within the type of democracy consociational or majoritarian. The United Kingdom is a majoritarian democracy. This means that they have elections that leave one party in control of the government. This type of democracy can be broken down into several pieces. • 31. Overview of the Immune System and Cells The immune system has dual natures in series with non self/self recognition being the most important. Other natures are adaptive/nature or acquired/innate, secondary/primary, passive/active, humoral/cell mediated and some parts or antigen specific. Antigen specific means when it recognizes certain antigens it will act upon them. Some pats are systemic which is the don t just stay at the infected area but go through the body and they have memory, so when they come the same antigen again they know, they will attack it even stronger. The non self/self recognition is every cell has marker based on the major histocompatibility complex and cells without this marker or attacked as non self. This works so well that proteins that are not digested treated the same as antigens. There are certain diseases that break down the immune system and it attacks the self cells. These diseases are called autoimmune and some of these are forms of diabetes and arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus and multiple sclerosis. When the immune system responds inappropriately to innocuous substances such as allergies, this is called allergen. The two fluid systems are the lymph and blood system are responsible for transporting the immune systems agents through the body. In the Middle Ages the Catholic Church teachings were based on the premise that salvation was only possible through good works, or works of righteousness that pleased God. Luther came to share Augustine s two central beliefs, which would later became the foundation of Protestantism. Meanwhile, the practice of granting indulgences to provide absolution to sinners became the Catholic Church s modus operandi for financial and was rigged with corruption. In 1517, a friar named Johann Tetzel was a prominent seller of indulgences in Germany to raise funds to renovate St. Peter s Basilica in Rome. Although it had been banned in Germany, the practice continued undiminished Luther raised a vigorous objection to the corrupt practice of selling indulgences because of his commitment to the idea that God alone could grant salvation through faith and by divine grace. It was upon his beliefs that Luther wrote the Disputation on the Power and Efficacy of Indulgences, also known as The 95 Theses, a list of propositions and questions for debates. His 95 Theses were a direct assault to the Catholic Church s corrupt practice of selling indulgences to absolve sin. The words dig and sow are so much more positively moving than the negative words in the previous lines, for they call the speaker and her mother to action while they don t do anything in a period of inaction. Through the previously mentioned honor of their forefathers, the speaker and her mother are motivated to dig and sow a better life for their future. Much like crops and trees that only yield fruitful results after a long growing season, the speaker and her mother become momentarily inspired by all the family heritage and labor that the walnut tree represents to do something more productive than sitting around and debating on whether or not to sell their tree.
