Without 100% deliverables on hand this could create a bullwhip in the supply chain. A bullwhip
effect is point to a lack of synchronization among supply chain members. This happens when
changes in sales ripples backward (e.g. bullwhip) because the supply patterns do not match the
demand patterns causing shortages and delays. The current supply chain used between Riordan
s China location and the local Chinese company is the responsive supply chain process. One of
the features of a responsive supply chain is that companies use a build to order and mass
customization process as a means to meet customer specification requirements. The local
Chinese company is a make to stock operation and future demands for fans are forecasted based
on previous three years sales. They use this method in hopes that previous sales history will
repeat itself without any significant changes. Implementing an agile supply chain process would
be beneficial for Riordan s China plant. Agile supply chain strategy is to be responsible and
flexible to customer needs. They are considered agile because they are responsive to change and
irregularity in demands of customers while reducing risk supply disorder on back end. The agile
supply chain combines the strengths of hedged and responsive supply

Judge Ricardo Sandoval Case Summary
Sheepishly, the jurors one by one were seated in the courtroom by a grinning ear to ear Bailiff as
their escort. Judge Ricardo Sandoval had concluded his interrogation with the Defendant; both were
positioned back in their appointed chairs, where each smiled coyly at each other.
Unbeknownst while Judge Sandoval hit the gavel to finish this proceeding, Min jun s baby juice
had begun leaking from his asshole. His honor never felt so alive, and yet he was afraid of either
the Prosecution or the Defense recusing him from this trail.
Now, all the eyes of Pinewood Estates seemed affixed to him as the courtroom was once again
filled with its gallery. Judge Ricardo Sandoval had been told the jury had their decision; Min jun s
fate was in the hands of the jury. Sandoval cringed with trepidation; he couldn t lose Min jun to the
prison system. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Again, yes your Honor.
In the case of Min jun Kim s innocence. What did you declare? said Judge Sandoval s voice, which

Enduring Love In Wuthering Heights
Wuthering Heights: An Ever Lasting Love Emily Bronte takes romance to a darker side in her
gothic novel Wuthering Heights. She develops a relationship between the characters and the setting
which further reveal her central themes and conveys her idea. Bronte s work of art makes an
attempt to argue that social class has the power to be a deciding factor in who one chooses to love.
This is seen and conveyed through her characterization, the setting, and revealed through central
themes. In Wuthering Heightscomplex characters are created to further emphasize how fatal
attraction can lead to major conflicts. Bronte s gothic spin begins with Heathcliffs character who
arrives to Wuthering Heights when Mr. Earnshaw returns from Liverpool.... Show more content on

It is instantly recognized what the difference between the two settings is. Wuthering Heights is
viewed in a darker light whereas Thrushcross Grange is bright and more inviting. After the
incident Catherine is then ordered to stay at the Grange with the Linton s for a couple weeks.
During this time, she transforms from a wild savage girl (Baba) into a lady. Heathcliff recalls
Catherine s superb treatment at the Lintons, Afterwards, they dried and combed her beautiful
hair, and gave her a pair of enormous slippers, and wheeled her to the fire; as merry as she could
be (Bronte) Catherine s treatment contrasts the way Mr. Lockwood was greeted at Wuthering
Heights. It is evident that the two manors are as different as the people in them. A
transformation is made in Catherine s appearance and character when she marries Edgar and
moves over to Grange where she experiences life being spoiled and pampered as she pleases.
When she is welcomed back to the Heights Heathcliff greets her and in return is insulted when
she laughs to find him dirty (55) Evidently, this supports that her transformation is not only
physical but also spiritual for her comparison between them two. Also adding to the fact that the
two manors are better understood as two different worlds. Even though Catherine grew up in
Heathcliff s world, her move has caused her to change making their love impossible to pursue.
Since then, she comes to spend more time with Edgar while cutting time to be with Heathcliff.
She explains to Nelly her reasons for taking Edgars hand in marriage the ground under his feet,
and the air over his head, and every thing he touches, and every word he says I love all his looks,
and all his actions, and him entirely, and altogether (Bronte) It is undeniable that her love for
Edgar is based off his prestige and not entirely for who he is. She is seduced by his wealth and
civilized life at the

Environmental Issues of Coal Mining
ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES OF COAL MINING
INTRODUCTION
Coal is the most abundant fuel resource in India. It is the prime source of energy and perhaps the
largest contributor to the industrial growth of the country. It is a crucial and enduring element in a
modern, balanced energy portfolio, providing a bridge to the future as an important low cost and
secure energy solution to sustainability challenges. Some important facts about coal industry in
India are as follows:
India is the third largest producer of coal in the world
Coal is one of the primary sources of energy
India has some of the largest reserves of coal in the world
Indian coal has high ash content (15 45%)and low calorific value
With the present ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is concern that this natural phenomenon is being altered by a greater build up of gases
caused by human activity.
This is known as the enhanced greenhouse effect. The combustion of coal, like that of other fossil
fuels, produces CO2, a gas that is linked to global warming through the greenhouse effect.
The combustion of coal produces gaseous emissions of sulphur dioxide (SO2) and nitrous
oxides (NOx) that are responsible for the production of acid rain and ground level ozone . Acid
rain occurs when SO2 and NOx gases react in the atmosphere with water, oxygen and other
chemicals to form acidic compounds. Ground level ozone (O3) is mainly responsible for smog
that forms a brown haze over cities. Ground level ozone is formed when NOx gases react with
other chemicals in the atmosphere and is enhanced by strong sunlight. Emissions of SO2 and NOx
are termed trans boundary air pollution because the environmental impacts from the production of
these gases are not restricted by geographical boundaries.
(II) Impact of Coal Mine Fires
A number of coal mines in the country are affected by fires leading to steady destruction of
precious energy resource. The reason for mine fires presumably involves the phenomenon of
spontaneous heating through two interrelated processes viz., the oxygen coal interaction or
oxidative process and

Jefferson County Egan Murders Research Paper
The Jefferson County Egan Murders are nothing of surprise to anyone. On the cold dark night of
New Years in 1964 Gerald and Peter along with their sister Barbra Egan were found killed at the
rest stop on Interstate 81 in Watertown NY. The murders were carried out very well leaving little
evidence behind on the scene. The murderweapons were suspected to be a .38 and a .25 caliber
handgun and possibly a semi automatic rifle. The Egan s were widely known in the area for
robberies and burglaries that policecouldn t keep up with until after the deaths.
The Egan s were people of the New York area and had been connected to a widespread of
robberies. On the night of New Year s Eve 1964 the Egan s were planning a heist on a liquor truck
in Watertown, NY. A friend of the Egan s, Joe Leone had planned to assist in the heist but it never

Technology has such advanced at a pace seemingly impossible since that night of New Year s
1964. The types of things we have today include fingerprinting advances, we have many
different types of detectors, and we have such then advanced in education as well. Officers are
better trained today and have things such as body cameras for personal protection against false
accusations. We also would have had better care for the evidence, such as the car wouldn t have
been stolen and never found. There is also the fact that the investigators who arrived on scene
came from a party that late night. The difference is huge and if today this crime was committed,
technology would be a very big asset to solving

The Historical Values Of Ubuntu
The argument here that exists is that Ubuntu has no historic significance or cultural value. Its
source and origin cannot be identified as it is still believed to be a discourse that was just
invented for the sake of it. This is why many critics have gone to great lengths to comment that this
terminology is empty and does not have any concrete relevance or even origination and should be
discarded instead of being commercialized or made popular. The societies that practiced Ubuntu
cannot be found either which further weaken the position of this term and its emergence as a value.
However, I believe that Ubuntu should not be discarded only because it has no historic value or
origin because even without these fundamental aspects the term and concept has emerged as a
universal African humanist value. When Africans could not oppose the colonialism, they clung to
Ubuntu as a critique and this ideology has been with them in ... Show more content on

This can be seen by the fact that humanism believes staunchly in predestination and that the fate of
a person is sealed which cannot be changed in the course of a lifetime. Whereas, the Muslim phase
of humanism provides a more logical approach which suggests that the concept of predestination
does exist but it can be changed through efforts. This approach is not only more logical but also
more rational in terms of its existence. It has been said by the Muslim phase of humanism that men
are distinct creatures, separate from the rest of Creation, due to the fact that God gave them an
effective power (Qudra), once and for all time, by which they can choose to act freely . This shows
that the concept of humanism is flawed and man has power over their actions because of which
their fate could possibly not be predetermined. Their destination lies in the path that they choose

Essay On The Great Chicago Fire
The Great Chicago Fire was one of the significant devastation that happened in the eighteenth
century. Through this tragic event, hundreds of people died and thousands of buildings were
completely destroyed in the fire. Before, the city was flourishing as more people traveled and
decided to call Chicago their home. After the fire destroyed most of the surrounding area, people
began blaming one another for the deaths of all the people. As time passed, Chicagoslowly began to
rebuild like never before. Although the city of Chicago continued to grow before the fire, after,
the city boomed with the abundance of money and people. Moreover, because there was
destruction, the people of Chicago, Illinois did not allow a fire to stop them from creating more
opportunities for the future. The city has changed from the fire, but because of the help that was
received, it was able to get rebuilt, and invite new individuals to explore the wondrous city of
Chicago. Before the fire destroyed over half of the area, Chicago was overflowing with history
on how this area became a city. In addition, the first records of people ever moving into the
territory of Chicago was during the seventeenth century, but the first tribes who lived on this land

Classical Sociological Theory

Topic: Discuss the meaning and significance of social fact. In your paper, discuss why the concept
of your choice may be considered as important for understanding the works of the theorist
concerned. In addition, you may also discuss the border significance of the concept in helping you
to understand the nature of Modern Society and of Modern sociology.
Background and introduction
Social fact is the most important concept in mastering Durkheim s theory because it is what
Durkheim defined as the subject matter of sociology (Durkheim, 1972: 58). ... Show more content

Durkheim also suggested the use of statistics to investigate into social fact. Statistics can reflect
social phenomena. They are the external index for individuals consciousness. Some criticisms
claimed that such index does not represent social currents or phenomena because they are merely
the aggregate of individual datum. However, Durkheim argued,
(statistics like marriage, birth rate,) each of these figures contains all the individual cases
indiscriminately, the individual circumstances which may have had a share in the production of the
phenomenon are neutralized, consequently, do not contribute to its determination. The average,
then expresses a certain state of the group mind. (Durkheim, 1964: 8)
He argued that these social facts arises from social relationships and human association and exist
at the level of society as a whole while individual cases are insignificant. The change in the rates
(Durkheim calls it pathological) reflected changes in certain social currents or social relationships
and it remained as a fact external and coercive to each person.
In conclusion, social fact were both the way of functioning (like thinking, acting and feeling) and
the way of being (the size of population, suicide rates etc). He successfully extending scientific
rationalism to human behavior and differentiate sociology from other natural and social

Gender Identity As An Axis Of Social Order
Gender is considered an axis of social order. Its categorisation into masculinity and femininity is
social constructed and maintained in everyday life (Clark and Page, 2005; Mackie, 1994). Gender
identity is our innermost understanding of our self as male or female . Most people develop a
gender identity that matched their biological sex (their body). Genderidentity can be affected by,
and is different from one society to another, depending on the way the members of society evaluate
the role of females and males. Our gender identitycan be influenced from the ethnicity of the
group, their cultural background, and family values. Gender like social class and race can be used
to socially categorize people and even lead to prejudice and discrimination. From day to day,
continuous production of gender has been called doing gender (West and Zimmermann, 1987),
meaning that gender is made by us in everyday lives in our interactions with others.
The media does affects and influenced gender identity. For instance children are constantly
bombarded with shows depicting gender stereotype models from toys marketed as for boys or
girls, to children s TV programmes and shows. It is common for children s programmes to
emphasize the role of the make hero who saves the weak female. Children interpret these messages
as real life which shapes their reality, behaviour and expectations of their gender role. However, the
social construction of gender does not happen only, it continues

influence of Ancient Roman art on Christian art and architecture as its name suggests it
Romanesque . Roman art is even described as the first international art, as it spread throughout

The Life Of A Volunteer Job
Barry s POV
As I woke up from my all night food coma I woke up in my armor and decided to wear a simple

I made up my mind as I chose to enter the retirement home first to apply for a volunteer job, I

something odd. When I saw one person I always saw their life force flowing inside them but on
one person I saw something weird. What I saw was their life force being drained by and small,
invisible, human like creature. In an instant I transformed and dashed over calling out my scythes
to slash at it only for it to vanish before me and the man falling limp into my arms. I laid him
down banishing my scythes but as I stood back up I just narrowly dodged a punch to the face by

The Importance Of The Sea Otters
Did you know that the endangerment or eventual extinction of a species affects other animal
extinction and eventually affects human well being? One such species is the sea otter. The sea
otter has an important role in the ecological preservation of pacific kelp forests.
Sea Otters contribute towards the overall health and well being of the ecosystem they inhabit. The
sea otter is an important predator in the nearshore marine ecosystem of the North Pacific Ocean. It
is considered a keystone species in the ecosystem. They limit the prey populations of a variety of
marine invertebrates that reside near the shore. Sea otters have large scale community effects
disproportionate to their abundance. (Carswell and Long, 2). Their main prey consists of sea
urchins and abalone. Sea urchins and abalone devour the kelp forests that run along the coasts of
California. Sea otters contribute to kelp production by eating these invertebrates, thus where there
are sea otters, kelp forests spread along the continental shelf. The California kelp forests have the
greatest biodiversity of the temperate latitudes (Recarte) Kelp forests are the Ocean s rainforest
(Recarte). Sea Otters are considered a sentinel species, which means their fitness reveals the health
of the ecosystem. Contaminants in the ocean have a large effect on Sea Otters. These contaminants
cause biomagnification because of the lack of enzymes to break down and expel the toxins.

Majority Rules, Minority Rights By Elizabeth Bisbeth Silber

They Can Greatly Minimize The Time That You Spend In Jail
A major reason to work with a bail bonds company is that they can greatly minimize the time that
you spend in jail. In most cases, a bail bonds service will allow you or one of your loved ones to
offer some collateral and pay a minor fee in order to get the bail bonds service to put up the
amount of money that is required to get you out of jail. This can mean that you can get out of jail
until your court date, which can be quite useful because you can use all of that time that ... Show

This is useful because it means that you can go around and spend time with your loved ones and
make arrangements for the caring of your loved ones or your pets or how your property is going to
be looked after before you end up having to report to prison to begin serving your sentence.
They Can Get You Out Of Jail Very Quickly
Another important reason to work with the bail bonds company is to get you out of jail very
quickly. The primary reason for this is that most bail bondsman will always be open and
available, which means that you or one of your loved ones will be able to get you out of jail
within a matter of hours.
This can mean that you will be able to get out of jail quickly enough that you can still get to your
job on time, which is very useful because it means that you will not get in trouble and potentially
lose your job over the arrest. In addition, this can help you keep the knowledge that you were
arrested to a minimum as no one will notice anything out of the ordinary when you get out of jail

How Does Don Giovanni Affect The Current World
Don Giovanni and Its Relations to Current World
Don Giovanni by Wolfgang Mozart is one of the finest and well written ophera piece that
introduces a fallen character who seduces women only for his own good and eventually receives
eternal punishment for his misbehaviour. It is hard to miss that the purpose of this opera is to teach
how its sinful to mistreat any subject of God. Anyone who sin will get punish and everyone who
seek for justice will receive their just. Don Giovanni by Wolfgang Mozart portrays how people need
to respect each others, which people seem to continually fail even in the modern days.
The purpose of this music piece was clear: Mozart wanted to teach people to not abuse each others
but respect as who they are. Mozart shared ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Gas And Natural Gas
With reserves in 31 states, the US has a supply of natural gas large enough to provide the country
with energy for decades ( Gas Drilling: The Story So Far ). Access to these vast deposits is helping
to significantly decrease the United States reliance on foreign energy, as we have recently become
the largest natural gasproducer worldwide ( Hydraulic Fracturing Natural Gas and Oil
Development ). In addition to abundance, natural gas has several other benefits as well. Natural
gas emits only half as much carbon dioxide when burned than coal does, and currently the cost
per unit is only one third that of oil, giving it some clear advantages over other widely used fossil
fuels (Harvey, Hal). As stated by chairman of BP Capital T. Boone

Many of the additives on this list are known toxins, carcinogens, and volatile organic compounds
that are recognized for their ability to cause harm in the human body (Lustgarten, Abraham).
Colborn and her co authors went a step further to evaluate every chemical on the list in terms of
health effects, and the results were alarming. Although the effects were detrimental across the
board, Colborn found 71 chemicals that were associated with causing harm in 10 or more areas,
including the central nervous system, cardiovascular system, and reproductive systems. What is
even more concerning is that companies find a way to justify their use of harmful substances by
claiming that they make up only a small fraction of the injected fluid; less than one percent.
However, experts like Colborn believe that even a seemingly small percentage translates to tens of
thousands of gallons of these chemicals being pumped underground, and their research shows that
even very low doses of the compounds can cause significant damage (Lustgarten, Abraham). One of
the most prominent concerns regarding the toxicity of chemical additives lies in the threat of
groundwater contamination. Although a 2004 EPA study concluded that fracking poses no threat to
drinking water, the rising

Propaganda And Persuasion During The Russian Civil War
During the 1918 Russian Civil War, there was news depicting Leon Trotsky as the leader of the
Red Army. The news was accompanied by pictures of a dragon with a top hat that were used to
describe the head as the fighter in Saint George advocating for communism. It was regarded as the
main weapon to combat capitalism. The title of the news associated with the leader was the theme
of counter revolution printed on the picture. The Russian diverse interests in capitalism, socialism
and monarchism required massive support for the Red Army to defeat the South Russian White

The Policy Process Of New Zealand Essay
The Policy Process
Task II: Briefing Paper
Summary:
There is an imminent threat posed by the climate change issue that New Zealand faces. Human
wellbeing, food and water security, health issues and national security are some of the threats that
New Zealand will have to resolve. One of the first global effort in response to combating the issue
of climate change is the Kyoto Protocol. However, the agreement did not include the two largest
world emitters of greenhouse gas China and the USA.
The issue impedes development in many small south pacific island nations. Agriculture is one of
the major export for many developing island nations. The rise in sea level due to climate change
directly affects the agricultural production. The ASEAN summit has identified food securityto be of
great concern and there is a need to address the issue. The issue affects most south pacific island
countries. Climate change affects them in many ways and one of the major issues is the rise in
sea levels. High tides lead to flooded roads affecting transportation and other infrastructure. Heat
stress and saltwater incursions are some of the effects that is quite problematic for the industry.
Furthermore, the rapid population growth and increasing food consumption per person is also a
critical issue. Drought or the lack of availability of fresh water is also a concern. People are
migrating due to flooding caused by the rising sea level. A research conducted by London School

Rabbi Moshe Ben Maimon, A Jewish Scholar, Astrologer And...
Rabbi Moshe Ben Maimon, commonly known as Maimonides or by the acronym RaMBaM, was a
Jewish scholar, astrologer and physician of the twelfth century considered to be one of Judaism s
greatest sages. His revolutionary publications were essential in the development of the Shulchan
Aruch, the practiced Code of Jewish Law and maintaining Jewish continuity throughout the ages.
Maimonideswas born in 1135 in Cordoba, Spain to his mother and father, Rabbi Maimon, and
would go on to study medicine and philosophy in unison with his religious studies.
From a young age, Maimonides father mentored him in the teachings of the Talmud, Torah, Jewish
philosophy and secular sciences. His education in these areas would eventually fuel his writings. In
1148, when Maimonides was just 13, a Sunni Muslim Caliphate movement called the Almohades
invaded Southern Spain, and he and his family were forced to flee their hometown.
The Almohades invasion marked the end of the Golden Age of Jewish culture in Spain, where
although Jews were not fist class citizens, they lived free of persecution and were able to conduct
businesses and lead relatively peaceful lives. The Almohades invasion put great pressure on its
Jewish inhabitants, posing a serious threat to Jewish continuity. Many religious institutions
dissolved, including synagogues and yeshivas, and Sharia Law now dictated everyday life for
Christians and Jews of Spain. Non Muslims were given the choice to convert to Islam or die or else

Descriptive Essay On A Masquerade Of Life
The Masquerade of Life It was late at night and the light were dim. It was darker under the table.

Toward The Metrication Of The United States
Toward the Metrication of the United States The United States was founded on the ideologies of
originality and independence from extraneous authority. To many, America is more than just a
country, it is the land of the free and is a light in the darkness from the rest of the world. This
inspiration has served Americans well throughout the past, but provides a reason to be reluctant to
try successful ideas from foreign countries. The reluctance of accepting the metric systemis the
prominent example of the country s stubbornness to change its views. The switch to the metric
system in the United Statesis more than just a proposal to be pushed aside, it is a necessity to

History of the metric system. In order for the younger generation to push for the switch to the
metric system in the United States, they must have some background knowledge on how the metric
system came about. According to the U.S. Metric Association, the founding father of the metric
system is Gabriel Mouton of France. He first thought of a system of measurements based on
decimals in 1670. The system was first based on a nautical mile and also the length of a pendulum
needed to swing at one swing per second. During the years following 1670, numerous French
scientists edited and made improvements to the system. The metric system then became the official
units of weights and measurements in France on April 7, 1795 (Origin of the Metric System).
When France decided to adopt the metric system, this served as a catalyst for the adoption in the
rest of the world. After France became the first country to adopt these measurements, other
countries started to notice that the metric system was well suited for science and industrialization,
so they decided to adopt the measurements as well. To no surprise, the change caught on quickly.
According to the U.S. Metric association, By 1900 a total of 35 nations, including the major nations

Exordium By SГёren Kierkegaard
Often times, existential philosophers question existence; why something is the way it is. SГёren
Kierkegaard such these sort of questions and this is clear in his book Fear and Trembling in the
section entitled Exordium. In this section, there are four different ways a particular story is told of
Abraham contemplating fulfilling a duty to God by sacrificing his son to God. In each of these
stories, there is a different ending trying to get at why Abraham is the greatest. In each of these
stories, they show Abraham s commitment to God in different scenarios. Kierkegaard, writing
under the name of Johannes, tells the story of Abraham taking his son, Isaac, to Mount Moriah to
sacrifice him to God to show his faithfulness. In each of these stories... Show more content on

In all of these stories, Abraham at least contemplates, or comes very close to actually sacrificing
his son, his number one priority, to God because of his commitment to God. In three of the four
stories, Abraham comes very close to actually sacrificing Isaac to God and this show a lot of
faith. Even in the third story where Abraham takes his command as a test and begs for
forgiveness for even contemplating following through with the order, even doing that shoes a
lot of commitment. Abraham realizes that one s relationship to God comes first before
anything, and that for one to truly be connected to Good, one must follow his orders and satisfy
his requests. By showing his faith to God and putting Him first, he at least contemplates
sacrificing his son to God because of his religious duty, and that is some extreme faith that is
incomprehensible. This is why in God s eyes, Abraham is so great, and because of the amount of
faith and commitment he has to God. In the first story, Abraham tries to cover up the fast that he
would be killing Isaac because it was a command of God by pretending to have gone mad and
psychopathic, so that Isaac does not lose faith in God, but only in Abraham. In the second story,
Abraham shows that he is going to sacrifice Isaac, and does not follow through because God
provides a ram to sacrifice instead of Isaac. In the third story, Abraham

Proposition to Reface Mount Rushmore
Over the years, America has produced many people worthy of having their faces chiseled into a
large rock for all to see. Although the current Mount Rushmore possesses faces that are very
important and worthy, they are no longer relevant in today s society. The proposition I have for
the re facing of Mount Rushmore is sure to be relevant and inspiring to Americans for centuries to
come. Edgar Allen Poe was an American poet and short story composer whose writings have
influenced literature for a century and a half. Calvin Coolidgewas a strong leader who was
appointed to presidential office in the 1920s. He also had a very awesome last name. Bob Dylanis a
nearly prophetic poet and song writer, the voice of a generation, and an inspiration to many.
Jennifer (Stelter) Schubert is a tenacious woman who has overcame trials and tribulations
daunting to any human and came out on top. I propose that the faces of Edgar Allen Poe, Calvin
Coolidge, Bob Dylan, and Jennifer Schubert be carved into Mount Rushmore for their impact on
past and present American society, leadership qualities, and overall awesomeness. Edgar Allen
Poe is credited with the composition a poem that has been extremely prominent throughout the
past century and a half The Raven . But this was not the only work that has stuck with Americans
all of these years; Poe was a man of many talents and troubles. Edgar Allen Poe was born to two
actors whom he never really got to know. He was separated from his siblings

Aleyn and John have more abilities than horse riding and exerting dominance; they can conquer the
opposite gender; manipulating and dominating them, despite having their own sexual preferences
together. Assumingly, that Chaucer s era followed a heterocentrism philosophy, they wouldn t have
examined their relationship as odd or even homosexual (Tyson, 306). In result, Chaucer cleverly
uses women to form their relationship strongly; to oppose the compulsory heterosexuality in his
period. It s meant to resists pressure to be heterosexual (306). Sexuality, in Chaucer s attempt to
satirically use two homosexual males to perform sex with two women, is ironically used, in this
case, to show the immense power that John and Aleyn have in a heterosexual universe. The two
scholars comprehend that their bond allows them to keep their sexuality a secret without outing
their own sexual desires. Therefore, copulating with women shows how the Miller s sexual

The Canterbury Tales by Geoffrey Chaucer
In his novel The Canterbury Tales, Geoffrey Chaucer presents the corruption of the Catholic
Church through several of his characters. Chaucer lived in a time of controversial indulgences, a
way to pay off sins. Chaucer s tales show his opposition to these sinful behaviors that he believed
were common among the clergy. In order to protest against sinful behavior and religious corruption,
Chaucer uses characters such as the pardoner, the friar, the summoner, and the prioress to show the
lack of morality and faith among the clergy, and presents the parson as an example of how to
correct corruption of the Catholic Church. Chaucer demonstrates corruption of the clergy through
the pardoner who is a sinner since he deceives the innocent through greed, which at the time was a
mortal sin. Chaucer describes the pardoner as having a bunch of relics in his pouch such as a
croys of latoun, full of stones (GP 699). However, Chaucer retorts, But with thise relikes, whan that
he fond A povre person dwellynge upon lond, Upon a day he gat hym moore moneye
Than that the person gat in monthes tweye (GP 701 704).
Here, Chaucer calls the pardoner a liar who uses false relics to collect money from people he
meets who are trying to repent of their sins. The pardoner is even more appalling because he
preaches against greed, yet he is guilty of that very sin when he tricks the innocent into giving him
large amounts of money by using these false relics. Chaucer characterizes the pardoner as

The plant s placement (near a densely populated area) was noted as hazardous years before the
tragedy, but UCC insisted on the location. The planning board s motivation for their insistence
was primarily that it was cheaper to build using a pre existing plant in the non ideal location as a
basis rather than building an entirely new plant in the more thinly populated area the Bhopal
government had designated for hazardous industry (Eckerman). Had the plant been built in a more
sparsely populated area, casualties and damage from the gas leak might have been drastically
reduced. The tragedy might have been completely averted had UCC opted to use the more
expensive production process (obviating the need for MIC) instead of the cheaper, more dangerous
process (as discussed above). More economies were taken with the safety and security systems
(Eckerman), which, properly installed and maintained, might have kept the tragedy from happening
or lessened its effects; although the company maintained at first that the Bhopal plant was equipped
as well as were its plants in other countries, UCC later admitted that the safety equipment in the

Validity and Reliability
1.0 INTRODUCTION
Research process involves several steps and each step depends on the preceding steps. If step is
missing or inaccurate, then the succeeding steps will fail. When developing research plan, always
be aware that this principles critically affects the progress. One of critical aspects of evaluation and
appraisal of reported research is to consider the quality of the research instrument. According to
Parahoo (2006), in quantitative studies reliability and validity are two of the most important
concept used by researcher to evaluate the quality of the study that is carried out. Reliability and
validity in research refer specifically to the measurement of data as they will be used to answer the

Assessment of stability involves method of test retest method reliability and using of alternate
forms reliability.
3.2.1 Test retest method
This is the classical test of stability called test retest method. This method allows researchers to
administer the same measure to a sample twice and then compare the scores (Polit amp; Beck,
2012). According to Wood amp; Rose Kerr (2006), test retest method is repeated measurements
over time using the same instrument on the same subject to produce the same result. For example,
a test is developed to measure knowledge of mathematics. The test is given to a group of students
and repeated two weeks later. Their score in both tests must be similar if the test measure reliably.
A reliable questionnaire will give consistent result over time. If the results are not consistent, the
test is not considered reliable and will need to be revised until it does measure consistently.
Based on the above example, the result from the first testing can be correlated with the result of
the second testing and resulted with high correlation. The comparison is performed objectively by
computing a reliability coefficient, which is an index of the magnitude of the test s reliability.
Reliability coefficient usually ranges between 0.00 and 1.00. The higher the coefficient, the more
stable the measure. Reliability coefficients above 0.80 usually are considered good as stated by
Polit and Beck (2012). For unstable variables, the

Wrought Iron Gates Research Paper
History of Wrought Iron Gates
As with everything in manufacturing and design, wrought iron has a long line of history. It has
been around for several centuries due to it s long lasting durability and beauty. Wrought iron unlike
cast iron is not brittle and can be beat in to elaborate designs when heated.
When wrought iron gates first came about they were all heated and molded by hand. In this day
and age you can still find several blacksmiths who will still do this by hand. However, most of the
time it is done in a factory so that they all look the same to provide a seamless look.
The first wrought iron gate was manufactured in the 18th century and was made for a cathedral.

The first gate around the White House in the United States was made of wrought iron. This is
because it provided the security the White House needed. Other than knowing that wrought iron
was extremely durable due to the components that it is made of, they learned that it would be
strong enough to protect the White House due to an accident. This accident happened when a man
lost control of his car and almost crashed into a building. The only reason he did not crash was a
wrought iron figure that stopped him before he reached it.
Now days wrought iron gates can be found all over the globe. They are great for homes as well as
businesses. Not only do these gates provided durability and protection, but they also looked
wonderful while doing it.
One of the benefits people love most about this type of gate, is that the design possibilities are
endless. You can have your gate designed in any style that you want, that way it matches the look

Spanish Myths, And Legends
The Lady in Blue The Lady in Blue is a popular Spanish legend in the Southwest and particularly
New Mexico. The legend of the lady started with New Mexico Indians in the 17th century and
remains popular today.
The Lady in Blue was in fact a real person Maria de Jesus de Agreda, or Sor Maria, as she was
called. Sor Maria founded the Convent of the Immaculate Conception at Agreda.
Sor Maria had a very strong reputation throughout Spain for her wisdom and sanctity, as well as her
mystical and religious writings.
After July 1643, Sor Maria became widely known for a more important reason. It was during this
month, on the way to Aragon, that King Phillip IV stopped at Sor Maria s convent. Following the
visit, the two exchanged letters ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The sailors declined. Another tale, from Antonio Galvao, also confirmed the presence of the island
and its Portuguese inhabitants, who were curious about how the homefolks were doing against the
Moors.
Stories such as these prompted men like Columbus and, later, Coronado, to seek out the elusive
Seven Cities of Antilia, regardless of the cost in time, men, and finances. They were sure the island
was out there, lurking somewhere in the misty folds of the Atlantic.
The legend was so ingrained in European society that most believed Columbus had found Antilia
when he landed in the West Indies (the island group soon took the name, Antilles). John Cabot,
when he landed in New England in 1497, named the area the Seven Cities .

Hunter Gatherer Case Study
Questions to Answer: 1.) Some people consider farming the worst mistake in the history of the
human race . Many people are opinionated this way because Hunter Gatherers had to work less and
were overall healthier. Because Hunter Gatherers primarily ate meat, they consumed much more
protein than Farmers. Whereas Farmers mostly consumed the three main cereal grains back then
(maize, wheat, and rice). This did not enable the Farmers to have a varied diet like the Hunter
Gatherers. Although Farming produces more food per unit of land, Farmers had to work a lot
longer and harder than Hunter Gatherers to produce a less varied and less nutritious diet. There is
proof that the Hunter Gatherer lifestyle was much healthier when archaeologists unraveled... Show

The population in Europe more than doubled, but the population in the Americas decreased. The
population in Europe increased because food was transferred, which could feed more people, but
eventually decreased due to food shortages. This ties into the Malthusian Trap because Malthus
thought that food increases arithmetically and the population grows geometrically. This means that
there will eventually be too many people and not enough food. This leads to starvation. Malthus
says that the population and food should be kept equal. Also, the population in the Americas
decreased, but that was because Europeans transferred diseases to the Americans, which they were

Psycho Movie Analysis
The movie that I chose to do my movie review over is Psycho. In this movie a young woman,
Marion, is having a sexual relationship with this man that she does not know is married to
another woman. Marion works for a company doing the financial needs, and one day she is
given a suitcase that is she is suppose to take to the bank for her boss. She ends up stealing the
money, leaving town and booking her way to see her lover. A few incidences happen to her while
she makes her way to her man, but it is when she gets to the Bates Motelthat things start to get
psychology weird. When she reaches the hotelthere is a man there by the name of Norman Bates.
Norman is not normal at all, he is struggling from a multiperson disorder and inability to know
wrong and right. He tells the Marion that his mother is alive and living in the house but really
she is dead, he had killed her previously. He goes into details to Marion about his relationship
with his dead mother. Marion, is very intrigued and happy to hear what Norman has to say about
his and his mother relationship, but tells Norman she needs to get herself ready for the man she
had come to see. As Marion organizes herself and makes her way to the shower, Norman is in the
hotel office, through a hole in the wall behind a hanging picture, watching her get undressed. He
watches for a solid five minutes before the scene changes to him running at the shower curtain
swinging a knife and killing Marion. During this part of the movie, you

The Franchising Scheme Of Mcdonalds
1)Back in the 1960s and 1970s, company and corporations tried to branch out using the franchising
scheme, since it s the safest way for both the franchisor and franchisee. Compared to others,
McDonald was way ahead of their competition again when it comes to franchising. Unlike other fast
food chains, McDonalds executives were interested in expanding their franchises by offering lower
franchisingfee instead of demanding a large fee up front, sold off the rights to entire territories,
and earned money by selling supplies directly to their franchises. Together with their well known
brand recognition, McDonalds continues to expand more and more, just like what Ray Kroc
wanted from the beginning. This kind of explained why there are so many McDonalds
restaurants compared to others, such as Carl s Jr and Burgers King. While this might seems like
a good business decision for the company, it s a 2 way knife for franchisee. Instead of demanding
large royalties or selling supplies, McDonald became the landlord for most of their franchises.
These franchisee have to pay up to 40% markup and that one single contract breach could lead to
franchisee s eviction. Over the years, this eventually turned into a good business for company and
as one of McDonalds executive put it We are in the real estate business and the only reasons that
we were able to sell fifteen cent hamburgers is because it is the only way that help our tenants to us
our rent. In other words, to open up a franchise

Peter And Peter In The Gospels Of Matthew And Mark
Peter, one of the most important disciples in the Gospels of Matthew and Mark, is portrayed as
Jesus acquaintance and pupil; as well as one of Jesus most important followers. Both of the
Gospels seem to portray Peter in similar ways, yet they draw different images of the disciple. In
the Gospel of Matthew, Peter has a much larger appearance in the teachings of Jesusand becomes
more significant to Jesus throughout the Christian doctrine. However, in Mark, the author portrays
Peter as a much lesser character in the life of Jesus and even leaves Peter out of some of the stories
till the end of the book. Each Gospelportrays a slightly different picture of Peter s personality and
role.
Peter is introduced as one of the first followers of Jesus in both Matthew 4:18 and Mark 1:16.
Both passages seem to describe Jesus discussion verbatim. Peter, also known as Simon, was with
his brother and spoke with Jesus. Jesus simply told them, Follow me and I will make you fish for
the people (Matthew 4.19, Mark 1.17). Peter and his brother merely replied, And immediately they
left their nets and followed him (4.20, 1.18). Peter and his brother were fishermen, which could
cause them to either be prosperous or not. This passage portrays Peter and his brother as extremely

instance, when Jesus asks Peter why he puts forth doubt in his leader in 14:31 Matthew is
portraying him as someone who doubts his leader, who is almighty and powerful. Jesus does not
question Peter s faith in Him in Mark. However, Jesus presents some positive light in Matthew as

The Discovery Of The Staircase
Humans are instinctually curious animals due to their frontal lobe, which causes higher thinking
and a desire for knowledge. The desire for knowledge and higher thinking often leads people to
travel due to the possibility to gain new experiences and discover something new. The mystery
behind certain iconic tourist sights that are brought to light through photography often intrigues and
sparks curiosity in humans with the promise of new knowledge and discovery. The Miraculous
Staircase of Saint Joseph in the Chapel of Loretto in Santa Fe, New Mexicooffers mystery through
the unknown and unexplainable questions that have risen throughout the years regarding the stair
cases history and religious background. The mixture between the unanswered questions concerning
the history of the staircase and its baffling architecture captured through photography throughout
the years cause the stair case to be a focal point of many curious tourist minds in Santa Fe. The
Chapel of Loretto was finished in Santa Fe, New Mexicoin 1878. The chapel was beautiful, but it
was missing a way to access the choir loft that was twenty two feet up. Upset by this, the nuns of
the chapel prayed to Saint Joseph the Master Carpenter (Helix to Heaven). According to sources, on
the ninth day of the sisters praying a stranger showed up with a donkey and carpentry tools to help
with the predicament. He built the beautiful helical staircase that still stands today in a bout six
months, and then vanished before

Environmental Justice and Toxic Racism
Environmental Justice and Toxic Racism
Encouraged by diverse foundations from across the globe, The Environmental Justice movement
has become one of the most important topics in the media. Europeans have used Marxist
philosophy on class laddering, while non Western countries required its encouragement in the
criticism of colonialism. In the United States, The Civil Rights Movement was its forerunner. The
notion of Environmental Justice , nevertheless, has its genesis in the resistance of black culture and
lower income communities in opposition to uneven ecological trouble in the United States during
the last few years of the 1970s and the early 1980s. In the framework of racial improvement and
public activism, the phrase was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the first influences on the deliberation on Environmental Justice was The Civil Rights
Movement in the United States of America. Leaders like Martin Luther King, Jr. fought hard to
ensure that social transformation and power be established for African Americans, especially those
in the southern states as well as those in the northern inner city parts. Activists like King altered the
philosophy on Environmental Justice arguing that there was a lopsided effect that proved that
environmental hazards were not accidental. What environmentalists advocated instead was that
environmental dangers resulted from racial segregation that placed power plants, nuclear plants,
and other potential ecological hazards in areas with a high concentration of minority and low
income groups. Several activists defined this as environmental racism. The earliest reference to
environmental racism originated in Warren County, North Carolina, in 1982. A mainly African
American neighborhood rallied to protest the construction of a noxious waste landfill. The
community was well backed with the support of the United Church of Christ. The remonstration
resulted in well over five hundred arrests for civil disobedience. Its impact caused other
explorations in southern communities across of the United States of America. In 1987, The

Choosing The Role Of Privatization In The United States
Privatization:
Public services provided by the government can get very expensive. In order to help reduce
/eliminate these high prices some governments choose the option of privatization. Privatization is
mainly selling a public service to a private company, making the service no longer under the
government s control. Public services such as, electric utility companies, health care, highway
repair and upkeep, and as well as water have been privatized around the world. The advocates of
privatization highly believe that this is an important trade liberalization reform. These advocates
believe that privatization will lower taxes because tax payers no longer have to pay for this service.
Advocates believe that the competition from privatizing services will lower prices and will also
improve the quality of these services.

People with incurable diseases are living in excruciating pain up until the day they die. Assisted
suicide, though it sounds dreadful, can put an end to the suffering. Terminally ill patients should

Why Do Food Companies Lie
Food companies are misleading and not 100% honesty about what they say. Food companies
would put just about anything in foods so that they can pay less to make it. We as people know
the common things they tell us an example: how much sugar, fats, and high fructose corn syrup.
Most Companies even give us a number of calories we are eating as well as serving we should eat.
Although, are we truly getting the entire ingredient list, telling us what chemicals are being used?
Foodcompanies should be more honest about the ingredients they use because everyone should
have the right to know what we are eating.

Another theme of story is about human lust for power. Rappaccini uses science as vehicle for
power over nature, through Beatric and the garden .He just, for the sake of power through
science ,treats with Beatric and the plants.Touching nothing directly ,only looking and tending
from distance. Baglioni also is represented a person who wants to win Dr.Rappaccini so he
decides to kill Beatric. And Giovanni is not the person who truly loves Beatric .He loves her as he
wants Beatric to be not as she is. Beatric is the only human who establish real love and who wants
to love and be loved.
Giovanni is the young protagonist. That he views the garden from his lofty window suggests his
perspective on the complexity of good and evil embodied in Beatrice . When he first begins to
understand that she is dangerous, he dismisses his suspicions as fantasy ; however, as he becomes
more concerned with himself than with her, he eventually calls her a poisonous thing who has
contaminated him, making him as hateful, as ugly, as loathsome and deadly a creature as she. By
the end of the story, his selfishness completely blinds him to her goodness, and as a result, he
gives her the antidote provided by Baglioni, in this way hoping to redeem her from her evil nature
and save her for a life of love with him. A tall, emaciated, sallow, and sickly looking man, dressed

This happens when changes in sales ripples backward (e.g. bullwhip) because the supply patterns do not match the demand patterns causing shortages and delays. The current supply chain used between Riordan s China location and the local Chinese company is the responsive supply chain process. One of the features of a responsive supply chain is that companies use a build to order and mass customization process as a means to meet customer specification requirements. The local Chinese company is a make to stock operation and future demands for fans are forecasted based on previous three years sales. They use this method in hopes that previous sales history will repeat itself without any significant changes. Implementing an agile supply chain process would be beneficial for Riordan s China plant. • 4. Judge Ricardo Sandoval Case Summary Sheepishly, the jurors one by one were seated in the courtroom by a grinning ear to ear Bailiff as their escort. Judge Ricardo Sandoval had concluded his interrogation with the Defendant; both were positioned back in their appointed chairs, where each smiled coyly at each other. Unbeknownst while Judge Sandoval hit the gavel to finish this proceeding, Min jun s baby juice had begun leaking from his asshole. His honor never felt so alive, and yet he was afraid of either the Prosecution or the Defense recusing him from this trail. Now, all the eyes of Pinewood Estates seemed affixed to him as the courtroom was once again filled with its gallery. Judge Ricardo Sandoval had been told the jury had their decision; Min jun s fate was in the hands of the jury. Sandoval cringed with trepidation; he couldn t lose Min jun to the prison system. ... • 5. Enduring Love In Wuthering Heights Wuthering Heights: An Ever Lasting Love Emily Bronte takes romance to a darker side in her gothic novel Wuthering Heights. She develops a relationship between the characters and the setting which further reveal her central themes and conveys her idea. Bronte s work of art makes an attempt to argue that social class has the power to be a deciding factor in who one chooses to love. This is seen and conveyed through her characterization, the setting, and revealed through central themes. In Wuthering Heightscomplex characters are created to further emphasize how fatal attraction can lead to major conflicts. Bronte s gothic spin begins with Heathcliffs character who arrives to Wuthering Heights when Mr. Earnshaw returns from Liverpool.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is instantly recognized what the difference between the two settings is. Wuthering Heights is viewed in a darker light whereas Thrushcross Grange is bright and more inviting. After the incident Catherine is then ordered to stay at the Grange with the Linton s for a couple weeks. During this time, she transforms from a wild savage girl (Baba) into a lady. Heathcliff recalls Catherine s superb treatment at the Lintons, Afterwards, they dried and combed her beautiful hair, and gave her a pair of enormous slippers, and wheeled her to the fire; as merry as she could be (Bronte) Catherine s treatment contrasts the way Mr. Lockwood was greeted at Wuthering Heights. It is evident that the two manors are as different as the people in them. A transformation is made in Catherine s appearance and character when she marries Edgar and moves over to Grange where she experiences life being spoiled and pampered as she pleases. When she is welcomed back to the Heights Heathcliff greets her and in return is insulted when she laughs to find him dirty (55) Evidently, this supports that her transformation is not only physical but also spiritual for her comparison between them two. Also adding to the fact that the two manors are better understood as two different worlds. Even though Catherine grew up in Heathcliff s world, her move has caused her to change making their love impossible to pursue. Since then, she comes to spend more time with Edgar while cutting time to be with Heathcliff. She explains to Nelly her reasons for taking Edgars hand in marriage the ground under his feet, and the air over his head, and every thing he touches, and every word he says I love all his looks, and all his actions, and him entirely, and altogether (Bronte) It is undeniable that her love for Edgar is based off his prestige and not entirely for who he is. This is known as the enhanced greenhouse effect. The combustion of coal, like that of other fossil fuels, produces CO2, a gas that is linked to global warming through the greenhouse effect. The combustion of coal produces gaseous emissions of sulphur dioxide (SO2) and nitrous oxides (NOx) that are responsible for the production of acid rain and ground level ozone . Acid rain occurs when SO2 and NOx gases react in the atmosphere with water, oxygen and other chemicals to form acidic compounds. Ground level ozone (O3) is mainly responsible for smog that forms a brown haze over cities. Ground level ozone is formed when NOx gases react with other chemicals in the atmosphere and is enhanced by strong sunlight. Emissions of SO2 and NOx are termed trans boundary air pollution because the environmental impacts from the production of these gases are not restricted by geographical boundaries. (II) Impact of Coal Mine Fires A number of coal mines in the country are affected by fires leading to steady destruction of precious energy resource. The reason for mine fires presumably involves the phenomenon of spontaneous heating through two interrelated processes viz., the oxygen coal interaction or oxidative process and ... Technology has such advanced at a pace seemingly impossible since that night of New Year s 1964. The types of things we have today include fingerprinting advances, we have many different types of detectors, and we have such then advanced in education as well. Officers are better trained today and have things such as body cameras for personal protection against false accusations. We also would have had better care for the evidence, such as the car wouldn t have been stolen and never found. There is also the fact that the investigators who arrived on scene came from a party that late night. The difference is huge and if today this crime was committed, technology would be a very big asset to solving ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Its source and origin cannot be identified as it is still believed to be a discourse that was just invented for the sake of it. This is why many critics have gone to great lengths to comment that this terminology is empty and does not have any concrete relevance or even origination and should be discarded instead of being commercialized or made popular. The societies that practiced Ubuntu cannot be found either which further weaken the position of this term and its emergence as a value. However, I believe that Ubuntu should not be discarded only because it has no historic value or origin because even without these fundamental aspects the term and concept has emerged as a universal African humanist value. Whereas, the Muslim phase of humanism provides a more logical approach which suggests that the concept of predestination does exist but it can be changed through efforts. This approach is not only more logical but also more rational in terms of its existence. It has been said by the Muslim phase of humanism that men are distinct creatures, separate from the rest of Creation, due to the fact that God gave them an effective power (Qudra), once and for all time, by which they can choose to act freely . They are the external index for individuals consciousness. Some criticisms claimed that such index does not represent social currents or phenomena because they are merely the aggregate of individual datum. However, Durkheim argued, (statistics like marriage, birth rate,) each of these figures contains all the individual cases indiscriminately, the individual circumstances which may have had a share in the production of the phenomenon are neutralized, consequently, do not contribute to its determination. The average, then expresses a certain state of the group mind. Gender like social class and race can be used to socially categorize people and even lead to prejudice and discrimination. From day to day, continuous production of gender has been called doing gender (West and Zimmermann, 1987), meaning that gender is made by us in everyday lives in our interactions with others. One such species is the sea otter. The sea otter has an important role in the ecological preservation of pacific kelp forests. Sea Otters contribute towards the overall health and well being of the ecosystem they inhabit. The sea otter is an important predator in the nearshore marine ecosystem of the North Pacific Ocean. It is considered a keystone species in the ecosystem. They limit the prey populations of a variety of marine invertebrates that reside near the shore. Sea otters have large scale community effects disproportionate to their abundance. (Carswell and Long, 2). Their main prey consists of sea urchins and abalone. Sea urchins and abalone devour the kelp forests that run along the coasts of California. Sea otters contribute to kelp production by eating these invertebrates, thus where there are sea otters, kelp forests spread along the continental shelf. The California kelp forests have the greatest biodiversity of the temperate latitudes (Recarte) Kelp forests are the Ocean s rainforest (Recarte). According to the U.S. Metric Association, the founding father of the metric system is Gabriel Mouton of France. He first thought of a system of measurements based on decimals in 1670. The system was first based on a nautical mile and also the length of a pendulum needed to swing at one swing per second. During the years following 1670, numerous French scientists edited and made improvements to the system. The metric system then became the official units of weights and measurements in France on April 7, 1795 (Origin of the Metric System). When France decided to adopt the metric system, this served as a catalyst for the adoption in the rest of the world. After France became the first country to adopt these measurements, other countries started to notice that the metric system was well suited for science and industrialization, so they decided to adopt the measurements as well. Even in the third story where Abraham takes his command as a test and begs for forgiveness for even contemplating following through with the order, even doing that shoes a lot of commitment. Abraham realizes that one s relationship to God comes first before anything, and that for one to truly be connected to Good, one must follow his orders and satisfy his requests. By showing his faith to God and putting Him first, he at least contemplates sacrificing his son to God because of his religious duty, and that is some extreme faith that is incomprehensible. • 31. Proposition to Reface Mount Rushmore Over the years, America has produced many people worthy of having their faces chiseled into a large rock for all to see. Although the current Mount Rushmore possesses faces that are very important and worthy, they are no longer relevant in today s society. The proposition I have for the re facing of Mount Rushmore is sure to be relevant and inspiring to Americans for centuries to come. Edgar Allen Poe was an American poet and short story composer whose writings have influenced literature for a century and a half. Calvin Coolidgewas a strong leader who was appointed to presidential office in the 1920s. He also had a very awesome last name. Bob Dylanis a nearly prophetic poet and song writer, the voice of a generation, and an inspiration to many. Jennifer (Stelter) Schubert is a tenacious woman who has overcame trials and tribulations daunting to any human and came out on top. I propose that the faces of Edgar Allen Poe, Calvin Coolidge, Bob Dylan, and Jennifer Schubert be carved into Mount Rushmore for their impact on past and present American society, leadership qualities, and overall awesomeness. Edgar Allen Poe is credited with the composition a poem that has been extremely prominent throughout the past century and a half The Raven . But this was not the only work that has stuck with Americans all of these years; Poe was a man of many talents and troubles. Edgar Allen Poe was born to two actors whom he never really got to know. Aleyn and John have more abilities than horse riding and exerting dominance; they can conquer the opposite gender; manipulating and dominating them, despite having their own sexual preferences together. Assumingly, that Chaucer s era followed a heterocentrism philosophy, they wouldn t have examined their relationship as odd or even homosexual (Tyson, 306). In result, Chaucer cleverly uses women to form their relationship strongly; to oppose the compulsory heterosexuality in his period. It s meant to resists pressure to be heterosexual (306). Sexuality, in Chaucer s attempt to satirically use two homosexual males to perform sex with two women, is ironically used, in this case, to show the immense power that John and Aleyn have in a heterosexual universe. The two scholars comprehend that their bond allows them to keep their sexuality a secret without outing their own sexual desires. Therefore, copulating with women shows how the Miller s sexual authority, is not manlier than their own homosexual or heterosexual performances. • 34. The Canterbury Tales by Geoffrey Chaucer In his novel The Canterbury Tales, Geoffrey Chaucer presents the corruption of the Catholic Church through several of his characters. Chaucer lived in a time of controversial indulgences, a way to pay off sins. Chaucer s tales show his opposition to these sinful behaviors that he believed were common among the clergy. In order to protest against sinful behavior and religious corruption, Chaucer uses characters such as the pardoner, the friar, the summoner, and the prioress to show the lack of morality and faith among the clergy, and presents the parson as an example of how to correct corruption of the Catholic Church. Chaucer demonstrates corruption of the clergy through the pardoner who is a sinner since he deceives the innocent through greed, which at the time was a mortal sin. Chaucer describes the pardoner as having a bunch of relics in his pouch such as a croys of latoun, full of stones (GP 699). However, Chaucer retorts, But with thise relikes, whan that he fond A povre person dwellynge upon lond, Upon a day he gat hym moore moneye Than that the person gat in monthes tweye (GP 701 704). Here, Chaucer calls the pardoner a liar who uses false relics to collect money from people he meets who are trying to repent of their sins. The pardoner is even more appalling because he preaches against greed, yet he is guilty of that very sin when he tricks the innocent into giving him large amounts of money by using these false relics. Assessment of stability involves method of test retest method reliability and using of alternate forms reliability. 3.2.1 Test retest method This is the classical test of stability called test retest method. This method allows researchers to administer the same measure to a sample twice and then compare the scores (Polit amp; Beck, 2012). According to Wood amp; Rose Kerr (2006), test retest method is repeated measurements over time using the same instrument on the same subject to produce the same result. For example, a test is developed to measure knowledge of mathematics. The test is given to a group of students and repeated two weeks later. Their score in both tests must be similar if the test measure reliably. A reliable questionnaire will give consistent result over time. If the results are not consistent, the test is not considered reliable and will need to be revised until it does measure consistently. Based on the above example, the result from the first testing can be correlated with the result of the second testing and resulted with high correlation. The comparison is performed objectively by computing a reliability coefficient, which is an index of the magnitude of the test s reliability. Reliability coefficient usually ranges between 0.00 and 1.00. The higher the coefficient, the more stable the measure. Reliability coefficients above 0.80 usually are considered good as stated by Polit and Beck (2012). For unstable variables, the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Unlike other fast food chains, McDonalds executives were interested in expanding their franchises by offering lower franchisingfee instead of demanding a large fee up front, sold off the rights to entire territories, and earned money by selling supplies directly to their franchises. Together with their well known brand recognition, McDonalds continues to expand more and more, just like what Ray Kroc wanted from the beginning. Rappaccini uses science as vehicle for power over nature, through Beatric and the garden .He just, for the sake of power through science ,treats with Beatric and the plants.Touching nothing directly ,only looking and tending from distance. Baglioni also is represented a person who wants to win Dr.Rappaccini so he decides to kill Beatric. And Giovanni is not the person who truly loves Beatric .He loves her as he wants Beatric to be not as she is. Beatric is the only human who establish real love and who wants to love and be loved. Giovanni is the young protagonist. That he views the garden from his lofty window suggests his perspective on the complexity of good and evil embodied in Beatrice . When he first begins to understand that she is dangerous, he dismisses his suspicions as fantasy ; however, as he becomes more concerned with himself than with her, he eventually calls her a poisonous thing who has contaminated him, making him as hateful, as ugly, as loathsome and deadly a creature as she. Salinger s Catcher in the Rye : And the band started playing one of those really slow songs, like Stairway to Heaven or Freebird that probably have really great lyrics or something but the song itself just is awful just awful. Then this real phony guy, with the hair all slicked back on the top of his head stood up with the Sax and did a solo. I almost died. I mean, almost completely died right there. It had to be the cheesiest solo I had ever heard. I mean he was swaying back and forth and he closed his eyes like he was really getting into it and all, but it was the fakest thing you ever heard. It was like something out of a bad Howard Johnson s. I swear, he must record Muzak for a living or drive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She was humming along and swaying to the song and practically just swaying her own dance out there. I mean I m a pretty good dancer but I hate slow songs. There s nothing you can do except just sit there and hold her and move her around and wait for the song to end. I would have rather just sat down and ordered another drink and waited for something else but not old Jean. She wanted to dance everything. Up real close to, so I could smell her breath. She didn t smell bad or anything. Don t get me wrong, she just didn t smell quite right. I mean girls should smell a certain way like baby powder, new clothes and perfume. Something that was girlish, y know. Jean, I swear, smelled like a fruit salad or Old Spice. I hate Old Spice. I mean I like Jean fine, y know. She s great, but I just couldn t smell her. Christ, I must be nuts. All of a sudden I start to imagine myself as the old sailor in the Old Spice commercial. Right out there on the dance floor. I start to think about coming home from the sea and bringing in the duffel and that song. It must have been the god dammed saxophone because that goddam song is running through my head Dum dum de dum dum, dum di de dum dum da di dum dum I see myself coming home to this really cute girl and wearing a sailor suit or something. I m crazy. I mean, I m really nuts ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
