Throughout the movie Smoke Signals, there are many themes that are portrayed as the story
progresses. Two central ideals that we see in the movie are the journey to forgiveness and defining
fatherhood. In the beginning of the film, we witness Arnold (Victor s father) saving Thomas from a
burning house, but when thanked by Thomas grandmother he says I didn t mean to. his response
becomes self explanatory by the end of the film. Unfortunately, Thomas parents do not escape the

In my CEPD 3200: Skills and Ethics in Human Services course, I had to complete three hours of
service learning in a facility of my choice. For my Service Learning Project, I volunteered at
Southern Hills Christian Church, a local church that my family attends. Southern Hills
Christian Church has a church service for children in Kindergarten 3rd grade called All Stars ,

For Christmas and my sixteenth birthday present my parents planned a trip for me to go to New
York City with my dad. Two days after Christmas me and my dad hopped on the plane and headed
for New Jersey and New York City. I was very excited because I had been to New Jersey but I never

actually get to see snow in the winter since it rarely ever snowed in Houston during the winter.
