Difference Between Absolute And Nietzsche

Escaping Modernity: Freedom and Happiness at the End of History An argument exists that there is a
difference in the conception of Hegel in the relationship of agency and the absolute with that of
Nietzsche and Heidegger. My argument now is that the difference in Hegel s conception of the
relationship of agency and absolute is fundamentally different from that of Nietzsche and Heidegger in
that, according to Hegel, we can, through reason fathom the absolute and though we constitute it, we
can never be the absolute. Nietzsche and Heidegger, on the other hand, locate the absolute in human
where they demand that the whole (worthy) human subsumes the absolute. My thinking is that
Nietzsche is concerned with the master ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Comparison and Contrast of Anne Sexton and Sylvia Plath The two poems, And One for My
Dame by Anne Sexton and Daddy by Sylvia Plath, both explore similar themes through the use of
literary elements such as structure, tone and symbolism. Structures in each poem are alike with length
but differ with the actual form. The tone Plath conveys is negative one while Sexton s is more neutral.
The symbolism in Daddy was also negative with symbols of the devil but Sexton used a nursery
rhyme as a symbol. The connotations of these elements reflect the image the daughters had of their
fathers but also the relationships. These poems also both deal with the theme of ... Show more content

The tone associated with suicide and bad communication is not positive because these are not happy
things and consequently, with Plath mentioning these, the poem takes on a dark tone which reflects
her relationship with her father. On the other hand, Sexton creates a tone that is much lighter by using
words that have neutral or positive connotations. Her choice of diction does not hint either way
whether her relationship with her father was good or bad, it seems to stay neutral which reflects her
objective tone throughout the poem. She begins to introduce him as a born salesman in line 1 and a
born talker in line 4, which at most, infers that he was a charismatic person (1,4). Sexton goes on to
list everything he was in line 15 stating he was a peddler, a hawker, a merchant and an Indian Chief
(15). By these descriptions her father does not appear to be out of the ordinary. He was just a traveler,
committed to his work and not much else. The way she describes him also seems to be observational
so possibly her relationship with him was distanced and unattached. Therefore, the tone echoes the
theme that the relationship she had with her father because their relationship was disconnected and
that was the emotion provoked as she remembered him. In addition to structure and tone, the authors
both use symbolism to connect to the theme. In Daddy , Plath once again mirrors her feelings and
relationship with her father by the use of negative symbols such

Was The 2003 Invasion Of Iraq A Legitimate Humanitarian...
Was the 2003 invasion in Iraq a legitimate humanitarian intervention?
Whether the 2003 invasion in Iraq was a legitimate humanitarian intervention or not, is two folded.
For instance, when viewed in the perspective of protecting the Iraqi citizens from the inhumane reign
that they were subjected to, the invasion can said to be legitimate humanitarian intervention. On the
other hand, when the invasion is seen in terms of its aftermath such as the destruction caused by it, the
unpredictability nature of the war (Lambeth, 2013), and its effect that undermined the motives or
rather the expectations of the Iraqi citizens, since it was associated with mass killings, then the
invasion will not be regarded as a legitimate humanitarian intervention.
The non legitimacy of the humanitarian intervention is evident whereby, the invasion in Iraq by the
US, Great Britain along with other coalition forces turned out to be disastrous. This is because, it
aggravated the humanitarian crisis and also had a major political, military, legal, economic and
strategic consequences. Even though Saddam Hussein did not set any fires to the Iraqi oil fields or use
the alleged weapons related to mass destruction, the war had numerous serious results that ranged
from death along with destruction in Iraq, and also led to regional instability (Wehrey, 2010), despite
the fact that itdid not take long.
When it comes to the aggravation of the humanitarian crisis, the war led to population displacement

The Caucasian Chalk Circle
In The Caucasian Chalk Circle, Brecht combined the theme of motherhood with revolutionary ideas
about theatre. Discuss.
Bertolt Brecht s play The Caucasian Chalk Circle is a social and political commentary, focusing on
justice and motherhood. Using revolutionary theatrical techniques and devices to reinforce his theme,
Brecht attempts to free his audience from the constraints of traditional theatre, enabling them to make
impartial judgments of their own. Despite combining these radical ideas about theatre with the theme
of motherhood, Brecht does not wholly succeed in alienating the audience, as it is impossible for them
to totally distance themselves from such an emotive subject as motherhood.

In the play, Brecht explores social alternatives as the audience is presented with various types of
mothers. Grusha represents all that a good mother should be. She continues to care for Michael, even
after she is advised to leave the child behind. She is forced to flee the city in order to protect him from
the ironshirts. She pays two piasters, equivalent to a week s wages, so that he can have milk. She does
not abandon him when the ironshirts catch up with them but hits one over the head with a piece of
wood, allowing them to escape. Grusha is forced to make many self sacrifices in order to save
Michael. She does so financially, emotionally, in terms of her promise to Simon, and in terms of her
life. When her brother Lavrenti insists that she must marry Jussup in order to make Michael a
legitimate child , she agrees, thus breaking her engagement promise to Simon. When she is confronted
by the Ironshirts and must choose between claiming Michael as her child and losing Simon, or
disclaiming Michael and regaining Simon s love and respect, She chooses Michael. In doing so, she
sacrifices her future happiness with Simon. Grusha gives up everything that is important in her life in
order to keep Michael safe. Brecht s depiction of Grusha contrasts enormously with the other
representations of mothers in the text. In the first act, Michael s natural mother Natella is portrayed as
jealous of her own son, But Georgi, of course, will only

The European Union ( Eu )
The European Union (EU) is the union of economic, monetary and political with twenty seven

been argued by Bickerton, the shift from nation states to Member States led to a subtle and not
unproblematic. However, the countries are free to choose want to join or withdraw from the EU. EU
consists of various institutions, but with only three institutions are involved in the EU legislative
process. These are the Council, the European Parliament and the European Commission. Over the

Although EU institutions have many federal characteristics, Member States still retain the controls
which make a European United States unlikely. The Council of Ministers is federally in the sense that
it consists of representatives of the Member States who act together to perform their legislative role,
they create rules which bind the constituent Member States. However, national interests prevail and
the process of policy and law making in the Council remains intergovernmental. While the
Commission is made up of twenty eight independent commissioners to represent the Union interest
and perspective. Whereas the commissioner will be sanctioned if there is obviously a severe

most federal institution of the EU is the European Parliament, which has almost all powers of a federal
house of the citizens and it co decides with the Council procedure by which the parliament enjoys an
ultimate power of veto over proposed legislation, this power further increased when the Lisbon Treaty
came into force by making this procedure become ordinary legislative procedure. Although, European
Parliament cannot challenge certain administration, such

Ayurveda can be described as ancient science about health originating from the East which has roots
in Hindu culture. This ancient Indian medicine has existed for 5000 years. Therefore this makes it one
of the world s oldest health systems. Its purpose is not only to make us healthy and help us get rid of
specific diseases but also bring everyone a spiritual wellbeing and harmony.
The Sanskrit word ayurveda means knowledge about life because ayur means (life) and veda means
(science or knowledge). This Hindu medical system inspired by the elements was influenced by the
Chinese and Tibetan medicine. One of the beliefs of Ayurveda medicine is that there are three doshas
(basic types of energy in the body): Vata Pita and Kapha and the diseases are caused by the disbalance
of these energies.
Ayurveda medicine not only helps to refresh and rejuvenate all systems of our body but also has the
ability to prevent even serious life threatening diseases such as cancer. Its main dogma is that health
depends on a frail balance between body, mind and spirit. While this ... Show more content on

Investigating The Coefficient Of Thermal Conductivity For...
Lab Report
Module Name: Mechanical Principles (ENGD1005)
Experiment Name: Thermal Conductivity
Student P number: P14177341
Lab Tutor : Dr Rick Greenough
Date: 26/11/2014
Objectives of the experiment:
The objective of the experiment was to measure and determine the coefficient of thermal conductivity
for copper and stainless steel.
Background:
Thermal conduction is the transfer of heat energy in a material due to the temperature gradient. It
always takes place from a region of high temperature to a region of low temperature. Heat transfers at
a higher rate across materials that have high thermal conductivity than across materials with low
thermal conductivity. Thermal conductivity is temperature dependant.
Apparatus:
Thermocouple potentiometer
Cussons thermal conductivity apparatus.
Measuring beaker
Procedure:
Firstly before the experiment begins ensure the apparatus has been set up correctly, i.e checking if all
dials are in their correct position. After the apparatus has been set up, what should be done is the
temperatures of the cold water in and hot water out should be noted down, this is done by reading the
temperature gauges on the cussons thermal conductivity apparatus . After temperature of cold water in
and hot water out has been noted you can move onto using the Thermocouple potentiometer to find
the temperature of the water as it is heated through the metals and out of the metals. This can be done
by putting the

Fungi Are Fungi Different From Plants
Fungi are a group of living organisms which are classified in their own kingdom. This means they are
not animals, plants, or bacteria. Unlike bacteria, which have simple prokaryotic cells, fungi have
complex eukaryotic cells like animals and plants. Fungi are found throughout the Earth including on
land, in the water, in the air, and even in plants and animals. They vary widely in size from
microscopically small to the largest organisms on Earth at several square miles large. There are more
than 100,000 different identified species of fungi. How are fungi different from plants? Fungi were
once classified as plants. However, they are different from plants in two important ways: 1) fungi cell
walls are composed of chitin rather than cellulose (plants) and 2) fungi do not make their own food
like plants do through photosynthesis. Characteristics of Fungi They are eukaryotic. They get their
food by decomposing matter or eating off their hosts as parasites. They do not possess chlorophyll like
plants. They reproduce through numerous spores rather than pollen, fruit, or seeds. They are usually
not motile, meaning they cannot actively move around. Roles of Fungi Food Many fungi are used as
food such as mushrooms and truffles. Yeast, a type of fungi, is used when baking bread to help it rise
and to ferment beverages. Decomposition Fungi play an important role in the decomposition of
organic matter. This decomposition is necessary for many of the cycles of life such as the

The case of Gonzalez vs. Raich in 2005 caught the interest of many people. Angel Raich is a

physician had tried numerous treatments and medicines to help her with the pain, but nothing has
seemed to work. In 1996 voters in the State of California voted that the use of marijuana for medicinal
purposes should be legal. In November 1996 the law was put into use. Angel s physician decided to

The high ruling of the case decided that she was guilty until further pressed when the Ninth circuit,
then ruled that the medicinal use of marijuana did not substantially affect intrastate commerce and that
Congress had no ruling in this case. I agree with the ending decision of the case. It is my opinion that
if a physician prescribes a prescription that is helping cure the problem, then it should be the patients
right to take these actions to survive. In today s society the legalization of medicinal use of marijuana
is becoming more common amongst the states. There are 24 states that recognize and accept patient
registry or ID cards for medicinal use. Out of these 24 states, California is the only state to not have a
specification on the condition you have to have to get prescribed a patient ID. Epilepsy is the main
condition that the other 23 states recognize as a condition worthy of prescribing the use of medicinal
cards. Of the 24 states only Colorado and Washington allow citizens to use the drug recreationally.
One of the main supporting arguments held for legalizing marijuana was that by taxing the drug it
would bring in budgets for things such as money needed for schools, also much needed money in the
health care field. It also would give the opportunity to free up police resources. One valid point was
that

Silver Chromate Lab Report
This experiment was performed to observe the formation of silver chromate from a reaction between
silver nitrate and potassium chromate. In this double displacement reaction, the cations and anions of
the two reactants swapped and produced silver chromate and potassium chromate. An indication of a
reaction occurring between the silver nitrate and potassium chromate was the production of a red solid
from the yellow potassium chromate and the clear silver nitrate. Potassium nitrate has its uses in
applications such as fertilizers and food preservation while the other product of this reaction, silver

produced through carbohydrates that are fermentable, such as sucrose and lactose. The different fecal
coliforms represent the differential factor of this test, while the selective factor selects against gram

The selectivity for halophiles refers to a bacterium s ability to grow in a salt environment. The media
differentiated between mannitol fermenters and non fermenters. The yellow agar meant that the
bacterium was a fermenter, whereas no color change meant that the bacterium was not a fermenter. In
Table 1, the test observed growth of colonies and a pink agar. The growth indicated that the bacterium
represented a halophilic nature, while the pink agar indicated no fermentation of mannitol. Research
discovered that E. coli had no growth of colonies and no change in media. Therefore, E. coli was ruled
out. Also, B. megaterium and E. faecalis were discovered to have yellow medias from being able to
ferment mannitol. However, in this lab, the unknown bacterium did not ferment mannitol. As a result,
all the potential bacteria did not fit the expected results, so this test did not work. In the end, category
IV tests did not represent helpful information that would help identify the unknown bacterium, since
the bacterium indicated different observations compared to expected observations for eosin methylene
blue agar and mannitol salts agar. A possible source of error of these two tests could have been that the
bacterium was contaminated due to improper inoculation techniques, such as not using a loop that was

The Nile s Impact On Africa
Considered the longest river in the world at about 4,258 miles, the Nile has a huge impact on Africa.
This extremely long river is the source of many crops throughout the River Valley region. Many
people depend on the Nile to grow their crops. This has been part of tradition of those surrounding the
Nile for many centuries. The Nile s flooding provides fertile land that is good for crops, which is why
so many people farm there. Because of all the flooding, in 1970 the Aswan Dam was built to make
sure that the flooding was controlled. The Nile flows through many countries including Tanzania,

These branches are called the White Nile, which originates in East Africa, and the Blue Nile, which
originates in Ethiopia. There are two main sources that feed the Nile River, including Lake Victoria,
which feeds the White Nile branch, and Lake Tuna, which feeds the Blue Nile branch. These two
branches join at Khartoum, in northeast Africa. The Nile River greatly influenced Egypt. Although
only 22% of the river flows through Egypt, the Nile is generally associated with it. Many Egyptians
lived near the river because it provided as a source of water, food, transportation, and great soil for
growing crops. Egypt greatly depended on the Nile, as it very rarely rained, so floods provided the

Animal Testing On Animals
A rabbit lives its life trapped in a laboratory. It doesn t get fresh air and has different products tested
on it every day. The product can make the rabbit go blind or cause its skin to burn, but there is nothing
the rabbit can do about it. This is what happens to animals every day from cosmetic companies who
test their products on animals. According to Cruelty Free Kitty (2017), over 30 cosmetic companies
continue to use animal testing to improve their products. According to the U.S. Food and Drug
Administration (2017), the agency has consistently advised cosmetic manufactures to employ
whatever testing is appropriate and effective for substantiating the safety of their products. This means
that if the company believes animal testing is the best option for their product they are allowed to do
it. Testing cosmetics on animals is cruel and inhumane, and people should avoid using products that
test on animals.
There are many different tests that are performed on animals. According to The Humane Society of
The United States (n.d), it is estimated that 500,000 mice, guinea pigs, rats, and rabbits suffer and die
in these tests every year throughout the world. 500,000 innocent animals are used to improve cosmetic
company s products. One example of a test performed on animals are skin irritation/corrosion.
According to the Humane Society of The United States (n.d.), The test substance is applied to the
shaved skin of a rabbit. Their skin may show signs of redness, rash,

The Dancer, By Ahmad Tohari And The Memoir
The novel The Dancer , by Ahmad Tohari and the memoir Across Three Wildernesses , by Ken
McCullough, are first hand accounts of what it was like to be living during the cold war era in
Southeast Asia. Although, both the novel and the memoir exam the treatment of the people on the
local level they also examine the effects of the struggle between communism and capitalism on the
larger global level. While the memoir is based in the country of Cambodia and the novel is based in
the country of Indonesia, they both have astronomical similarities. For starters, both of the writings
begin by following one man throughout his life and ends with their place in the cold war era
predicament. For example, in the memoir Across Three Wildernesses , the author is telling his life
story of how he grew up as a young boy and traveled to America to have a better education. Upon his
return home, some eight years later, the quiet life in Cambodia he once knew changed very quickly.
He, along with his wife, son, and mother in law were forced out of their homes and into a
concentration camp. This was a time when one country was trying to force its beliefs on another
country. In this memoir, the Khmer Rouge began to enforce their communist beliefs on Cambodia.
The Cambodians were forced out of their homes and into the mountainside of Cambodia . The people
were then forced into concentration camps where they were essentially slaves. They worked long
hours doing strenuous work for no pay. The work

The Law Has Shaped Law
Law has shaped many factors in society such as race and gender. Laws reflect the values of society,
and historically we can see that laws were created in order to maintain power for the white, male
population. In order to do this, law had to create the idea of the other since race and gender are not
natural occurrences. Race and gender although not real, are powerful social phenomenons that have
shaped law and society. Difference is identifiable. Unlike the Jews in Germany, or the Catholics in
Ireland, Blacks constantly wear their identity, unable to hide or disguise it to those who seek harm.
Furthemore, femininity as society dictates it is about being the opposite, or the other of masculinity.
As Hanley Lopez states in his work, skin complexion, hair texture and length, and nose width are all
signifiers of difference, and this has been historically used to decide who was enslaved, who was free,
and who had what rights. Today these features are used to create the idea of race and gender and apply
social constructions about these groups to individual people. Race and gender are not natural facts.
There is nothing biological about race, one can not single out the black or the white gene in the human
genome. Furthermore, there is nothing biological that dictates that women s hair should be longer, or
that they are mentally inferior to men to the point that they should not work or vote. Although the
ideas are not real in nature, they exist in a very real way in

The Benefits Of Video Games Is A Waste Of Time
Ever wonder why children start playing video games at such a young age? Most parents would argue
that videogames are a waste of time, and that children are receiving no long term benefits. Some video
games are designed to enhance motor skills that can help with real life situations. A few skills that can
be strengthened are reaction time and social skills. Not only do video games enhance motor skills,
they can also teach the player a little bit of lessons learned in schools depending on the game.Video
games can become an essential part of fundamental developing.
Video games have been around for decades, and have made revolutionary strides.William
Higinbotham an American physicist who created the first nuclear bomb and also invented the very
first video game Tennis for Two in 1958 (Tretkoff). Video games back then were at a basic start to see
what game developers can do next. There are many video games that require certain skills such as
reaction time. Racing games or any video game that requires driving can enhance the player s reaction
time and help defensive driving in real life. Many driving games such as Forza, Gran Turismo, and
Grand Theft Auto can help with reaction time and driving skills. In Grand Theft Auto the gamer plays
as a criminal and there are many car chase missions and the player has to maneuver through traffic,
alleyways, and avoiding pedestrians all at the same time. These skills are essential and can help in real
life driving situations such as stop

The Round House Erdrich
The novel The Round House revolves around the questionable morality of vengeance. Louise Erdrich,
shares the tale of a young boy and his endeavor to gain vengeance for his mother s rape. Through the
eyes of Joe Coutts, a story of crime and justice unfolds. Joe s aggression emerges after he discovers
his mother, Geraldine, is raped. Consequently, Joe attempts to avenge his mother by locating the
perpetrator, Linden Lark, and killing him. Does Joe s quest to find vengeance, justify his plot for
murder? The moral conflict between justice and vengeance interferes with Joe s plan. Erdrich voices, I
don t remember that they even looked at me or I at them after the shock of that first moment when we
all realized we were old (317). Joe finds out the judge is uncertain whether Lark can be accused at all,
this sparks Joe to carry on his own personal quest for retribution. Erdrich uses Joe s vigilante
perspective to question the morality of vengeance; it acts as a call to action when dealing with family
affairs. Erdrich s appeals to Joe s action by questioning its morality with the justification of the law;

find vengeance himself. Furthermore, Joe is appalled that little action has taken place. Erdrich says, I

You will not be a part of this (89). This exemplifies the loneliness and fear that Geraldine has after the
rape. Although, Geraldine is telling joe not to pursue Lark, this only fuels his emotion to seek
vengeance. I ll do it. There is nothing to stop me. I know who he is and i m going after him (89). Joe s
passion is immense. Although Joe does not know the true identity of the rapist, he still is determined

The Jaguar Smile Summary
In The Jaguar Smile we see a number of actions that are considered to be political behavior, based on
the definition and examples provided by Dr. Munroe. One of the more easily identifiable political
behaviors that we see is the revolution itself. This is a major political behavior, it was the people s way
of saying that they are done with the Somoza government and they are ready for massive change. A
second political behavior that we see in The Jaguar Smile is voting. Voting is mentioned more than
once in the book, and evidence of people voting can be observed in the epilogue. As Rushdie is on the
airplane leaving Nicaragua, he has a conversation with a woman name Silvia. In this conversation,
Silvia admits that while she did not vote in Nicaragua, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
government, while under the Reagan administration, saw the Sandinista s rise to power as a threat to

the Kremlin, which would then destabilize South America in an attempt to push the U.S. out and help
the U.S.S.R. get one step closer to becoming the singular hegemon. In an attempt to prevent all of this,

The Structure Of Animal And Plant Cells
Question one: the differences between the structure of animal and plant cells
In general both animal cells and plant cells have the similar structures, however they do have some
differences.
Plant cells have a cell wall, this strengthens the cell,it also gives it shape and protects it from infection.
Plant cells also have chloroplasts which absorb light energy, this is vital for photosynthesis. Plant cell
also have a vacuole, however unlike the ones found in animal cells they are much larger. Vacuoles
store food and nutrients essential for the plants survival it may also contain cell sap, this keeps the cell
large and swollen with water. They may even store waste products for the cell. This can prevent the
cell from contamination.(1)
Another difference is the position of the nucleus in the cells. In a plant cell it s positioned on the outer
edges of the cell this is because the vacuole takes place in the middle of the cell. In a nucleus there is
the majority of the cell s. It also contain genetic material and DNA for the cell. (2)
In animal cells the general position of the nucleus is in the middle of the cell. Plant cells don t have a
certain shape however they do have a structure that resembles a rectangle shape, this is due to the rigid
cell wall they have.(10)
Animal cells on the other hand do not have a distinct cell wall, they have an irregular shape. This is
because animal cells do not need a cell wall. Animal cells also are eukaryotic cells, this is any

Smacking Persuasive Speech
Smacking children has been around for centuries; however the purpose of it has altered from the
beginning to now. It started as a technique to discipline your children but now days are used largely by
teenager parents, who have lower patients and low self control. I m strongly against this concept of
smacking your children for discipline, it s disgraceful to think that people in this century still use the
assistance of this conception. It s hard to believe, but sometimes children smacking is only done to
achieve satisfaction, for example an angry dad from work might come to home just to realize that one
of his children has broken something in the house, the anger from work and this broken object might
just add up to equal the dad losing his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is very strong opinion and has very depth meaning, I believe that the point that he was trying to
get across was that once you violate or smack your children, it influence the child to think that
violence is the way to solve any problem and this is not the way you want to bring up your children.
Statistics shows that 69 precent of Australia parents still find the use for smacking their children, if we
think about this logically, 69 precents of Australian children s possibly have adapted to this this idea
which shows dark future for the violence in Australia. I have witnessed this adaptive behaviour
myself, one of my cousin went through traumatizing child hood. He was smacked at least once a day, I
believe that his parents were too violent with him and this lead to, my cousin getting in countless
fights in schools. When parents smack their children, they don t realize the long term consequence of
it, which is exactly what happened with my cousin s parents. Children smacking is also illegal in most
countries, its considered assault, if a parent was convicted of this and was dragged to court, and the
children would have to suffer some much in such a small age and might be forced to change his or her

Social Institutions And Its Impact On Society
For sake of discussion, I used the words most influential only in a positive and/or inspiring sense,
meaning society would benefit most from these social institutions. Conversely, I could have argued
that the least influential social institutions are good and/or beneficial to our society, but our society
chooses to ignore them; and the most influential social institution plague our society. However, I chose
the former the positive and/or inspiring sense of the words. Social institutions are the organized, usual,
or standard ways that a society meets its basic needs (P. 104). Moreover, functionalists identify five
functional requisites that each society must meet to insure their survival (Pp. 104 106). With this in
mind, Family and the Economy are the most influential social institutions in industrial society. Henslin
stated in Chapter 3 that Our experiences in the family and other groups during childhood lay down the
basic orientations to life (p. 94). Families offer guidance as well as protection from the larger, and
sometimes hurtful, society. Furthermore, loving families provide socialization, identity, and comfort,
all of which have an essential role in the development of the self (Pp. 104 106). The economy is the
second most influential social institution in industrial societies. To fulfill basic needs, societies rely on
a strong economy to produce and distribute goods and services. Additionally, strong and stable
economies provide employment and job security to

Information Systems Record Events On Log Files
Most information systems record events in log files [Abad03]. The type and structure of log files vary
widely by system and platform. For example, weblogs are produced by web servers running Apache or
Internet Information Server (IIS). Operating systems, firewalls, and Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS)
record event information in log files. Applications also record user activities in log files [Abad03].
Any activities performed during a security breach will most likely result in log entries being recorded
in one or more log files. These attacks cannot be identified by a single log entry occurrence, but
instead can be identified through a series of entries spanning several minutes [Abad03]. The amount of
data logged per system can be in excess of several thousand events per minute. Additionally, these
files are distributed across the network. In order to process and analyze the log data, it must be
integrated. Integrating highly heterogeneous data from multiple sources requires a massive centralized
data repository [Kott13]. This data repository meets the complexity requirements as defined by Big
Data. Big Data is defined by three characteristics: volume, velocity, and variety. Volume is the size of
the data stored, and is measured in terabytes, petabytes, or exabytes. Velocity is the rate at which data
is generated. Variety refers to the types of data, such as structured, semi structured, or non structured
[Mahmood13]. Structured data is data that typically resides in a

Effects Of Wetlands On The Environment Essay
WETLANDS
wetlands are defined as transitional land between terrestrial and aquatic systems where the water table
is usually at or near the surface or the land is covered by shallow water. (Cowardin et
al.,1979).Wetlands are one of the most productive life support systems in the world characterized with
waterlogged soils and recognized for their unique role in regulating global biogeochemical cycles
(Reddy and DeLaune, 2008). In the context of global biogeochemical budgets, it is the carbon (C)
cycle that wetlands influence the most. carbon density of wetlands are higher among all other
ecosystems due to its high productivity and slow decomposition rates, (Kayranli et al., 2010 ).
Recent works by the Ramsar Convention s Scientific and Technical Review Panel (STRP), states that
there are evidences showing importance and under estimated role of wetlands in both carbon storage
and the regulation of greenhouse gas emissions to the atmosphere.(2) significant amount of carbon
dioxide is emitted through degradation of wetlands .
Wetlands play an important role in regulating exchanges of greenhouse gases (water vapour, carbon
dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide and sulfur dioxide) to and from the atmosphere . They depending on
temporal ,spatial and typical features ,wetlands tend to be sinks for carbon and nitrogen and sources
for methane and sulphur compounds..3 (figre 1) fig 1
All types of wetlands have the capability of sequestering and storing carbon through photosynthesis

Democracy in America Essay
Democracy in America
Throughout the course of history, mankind has been recorded to corrupt itself. Men have grown tired
of simply surviving; they have had to take and conquer others. Absolute monarchies control wealth,
land, and even lives of men. The conditions of the people were solely dependent on the conditions of
the one who was in power in that particular place and time. History has proven that most men rule
unwisely in their kingdoms. To avoid tyrannical rule, some make an attempt to set up a government in
which the people ruled themselves. This form of government is called a democracy, or rule of the
people. History has also revealed through the Greeks and the French Revolution, that a democracy that

As a result, it was not received as well as the first part, except in England where it was acclaimed
highly.2
Tocqueville believes that history progresses with the inevitable growth of equality of conditions, and
he sees America as the furthest progression of this growth. The extraordinary level of equality can be
both a help and a hindrance to freedom. On the one hand, one cannot have complete freedom. As
social conditions become more equal, the number increases who, although they are neither rich
enough nor powerful enough to exercise any great influence over their fellow creatures, have
nevertheless acquired or retained sufficient education and fortune to satisfy their own wants. 1 Yet at
the same time, Tocqueville recognizes than in almost every situation, freedom is endangered by an
overly ardent passion for equality. 3 This, independently of equality itself, tends powerfully to divide
men, to lead them to mistrust the judgment of others, and to seek the light of truth nowhere but in their
own understandings. 1
Tocqueville inaccurately stated the out come of a possible civil war. As long as it only indirectly
assailed by the interpretation of its laws, and as long as its substances is not seriously altered, a change
of opinion, an internal crisis, or a war, may restore all the vigor which it requires. So far is the Federal
Government from acquiring strength, and from threatening the sovereignty of the States, as it grows
older, that I maintain

Evaluation Of The Paediatric Neurosurgical Patient
Key Points
1. Approach to the paediatric neurosurgical patient is different because of age related changes in
neurophysiology and cranial development.
2. The signs and symptoms of raised intracranial pressure in paediatric neurosurgical cases are age
specific.
3. Blood loss due to surgery or tumor bleed into the cavity constitutes a major fraction of total blood
volume in the paediatric population.
4. Capnography is the most feasible and safer method to monitor venous air embolism in children.
Introduction
The majority of tumors (60 70%) in pediatric age group occur in the posterior fossa. The reason
behind propensity to occur in the posterior fossa has not been elucidated till date. Lesion in the
posterior fossa may be neoplastic, developmental and vascular processes requiring surgical
intervention. By far, the most common posterior fossa tumors of childhood are medulloblastomas,
ependymomas and astrocytomas. Medulloblastomas are the most common malignant brain tumor in
children comprising 20% to 25% of all pediatric brain tumors. The median age at diagnosis is
approximately 6 to 9 years. Most of tumors occur in midline and frequently found associated with
hydrocephalus. Success with surgical intervention has become possible because of improved
understanding of physiology, advances in imaging and microsurgical techniques, excellent anaesthetic
techniques available, advances in perioperative care of the patient. These in turn have improved the
survival and quality of

Pattern Of Behavior In Charles Baxter s Gryphon
In the story Gryphon (fictional) by Charles Baxter, There are two main question that are important to
the whole entire story. Why does Tommy defend Miss Ferenczi? And What do you learn about Tommy
from this pattern of behavior? There are some evidence to actually solve the answers. The first
explanation to question to why Tommy likes Mrs. F is that on page (57, line 430 to 431) it talks about
how Tommy was telling Carl Whiteside, the boy who has bad breath and collect lots of marbles in a
jar about a fake combination to make it sound real so he convinced him that it s possible . and he
combined a human being and a hamster. it s called a humster. Next explanation, on (pg.50, l. 445)

herself. Therefore it was a surprise when a woman we had never seen came into the class the next day,
carrying a purse, a checkerboard lunch box, and a few books. , She had put her hair down and twisted
it into pigtails, with red rubber bands holding them tight one inch from the ends. She was wearing a
green blouse and pink scarf, making her difficult to at for a full class day. , Once again she was
different: this time, her hair hung straight down and seemed hardly to have been comed. She hadn t
brought her lunch box with her, but she was carrying what seemed to be a small box. Final reason is
that on (pg.66,67, 68,l.715 779 ) it shows the tarot pack which it stands for a fortune cards, it tells a

Persuasive Essay About Food Bank
Food banks are a terrible solution to a terrible issue. Hunger is one of the biggest issues the human
race experiences. One in nine people in the world, or 795 million people, out of the 7.4 billion people
go hungry every day because they do not have enough to eat. Every 10 seconds, a child dies from
hunger related diseases (The Hunger Project, 2017). The way lots of organizations try to help these
people in need are through food banks. A food bank is a non profit, charitable organization that
distributes to those who have difficulty purchasing enough food to avoid hunger. Food banks are
inefficient in aspects of time, money, and effort because so much more can be done through donations
of money, not non perishable foods and items. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another issue arises though, it needs to be transported from the warehouse to the appropriate drop off
place, which is most likely in a high density residential area, not an industrial area. The time it takes
for all this to happen is simply too much and non efficient. We are in an era where time is valuable.
Everyone is so busy with their lives, be it for work, school, family, or hobbies, it is unnecessary to
spend all this time just to donate something that not even the buyer would eat. To show an example,
let s say a donator s name is David. David works a 9 5 job which pays $20 per hour and has three kids,
two of which have swimming practice after school. David picks up his kids at 5:30, and goes home
right in time for dinner. On his dinner table, he has high quality foods that are packed with nutrients.
David remembers there s a food drive raffle near his workplace that is looking for donations for a
chance to win a grand prize. David now has to go out of his way to go to a grocery store to buy non
perishable foods. Instead of wasting his time going, he can go to the food bank and simply donate
money. If David was planning on spending $5 and 45 minutes for the whole process, from purchasing
the items to dropping them off, he actually spent $20 plus a few extra dollars for gas. Instead of
wasting 45 minutes of his time to get $5 worth of food, he could easily have donated $25, which go a
long way. This will be explained later, but

In this case, the story is about a group of pre teens ( named Mikey Walsh, Mouth Devereaux, Data Wang, Brand Walsh, Chunk Cohen, Andy Carmichael, and Stef Steinbrenner) who live in the Goon Docks neighborhood, they attempt to save their home from becoming demolished, this process leads them on a whole new adventure to finding themselves across the missing fortune of One Eyed Willie a legendary pirate. We all need a hero no matter who it is. To us, a hero is a man worth being admired and looked upon. The hero always demonstrates the ideals of our culture. There are different reasons why each hero becomes valued as a leader. They represent the world s innermost hopes and dreams, and the villain it s secret fears and nightmares. A Sisterhood Of The Delta Sigma Sorority A Sisterhood called to Serve Everyone knows about the stroll offs, roll calls, and step shows when an African American Greek sorority or fraternity is the topic. But is that all African American Greeks do is step and stroll? Believe it or not the image of African American Greeks has been tainted and miscued by their entertaining performances. Better known as the Divine Nine, the African American Greeks their hand signs and colors. It is quite evident that the purpose and message from the earlier founders of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority still live on today. I interviewed Kayse Cuevas, a twenty one year old senior at Oklahoma State University. She is a current and active member in the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. I asked Cuevas if she had any family members that were Deltas and she confirmed that she in fact did. Cuevas has a cousin that s a Delta and her grandmother s best friend is also a Delta. • 4. Difference Between Absolute And Nietzsche Professor s Name Course Date Escaping Modernity: Freedom and Happiness at the End of History An argument exists that there is a difference in the conception of Hegel in the relationship of agency and the absolute with that of Nietzsche and Heidegger. My argument now is that the difference in Hegel s conception of the relationship of agency and absolute is fundamentally different from that of Nietzsche and Heidegger in that, according to Hegel, we can, through reason fathom the absolute and though we constitute it, we can never be the absolute. Nietzsche and Heidegger, on the other hand, locate the absolute in human where they demand that the whole (worthy) human subsumes the absolute. My thinking is that Nietzsche is concerned with the master ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In that way, for both Hegel and Nietzsche, the intention and the act are joined into one. • 5. The Comparison and Contrast of Anne Sexton and Sylvia... LaStacia Bradley Instructor McBride English 1023 June 29th, 2012 The Comparison and Contrast of Anne Sexton and Sylvia Plath The two poems, And One for My Dame by Anne Sexton and Daddy by Sylvia Plath, both explore similar themes through the use of literary elements such as structure, tone and symbolism. Structures in each poem are alike with length but differ with the actual form. The tone Plath conveys is negative one while Sexton s is more neutral. The symbolism in Daddy was also negative with symbols of the devil but Sexton used a nursery rhyme as a symbol. The connotations of these elements reflect the image the daughters had of their fathers but also the relationships. These poems also both deal with the theme of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The tone associated with suicide and bad communication is not positive because these are not happy things and consequently, with Plath mentioning these, the poem takes on a dark tone which reflects her relationship with her father. On the other hand, Sexton creates a tone that is much lighter by using words that have neutral or positive connotations. Her choice of diction does not hint either way whether her relationship with her father was good or bad, it seems to stay neutral which reflects her objective tone throughout the poem. She begins to introduce him as a born salesman in line 1 and a born talker in line 4, which at most, infers that he was a charismatic person (1,4). Sexton goes on to list everything he was in line 15 stating he was a peddler, a hawker, a merchant and an Indian Chief (15). By these descriptions her father does not appear to be out of the ordinary. He was just a traveler, committed to his work and not much else. The way she describes him also seems to be observational so possibly her relationship with him was distanced and unattached. Therefore, the tone echoes the theme that the relationship she had with her father because their relationship was disconnected and that was the emotion provoked as she remembered him. In addition to structure and tone, the authors both use symbolism to connect to the theme. In Daddy , Plath once again mirrors her feelings and relationship with her father by the use of negative symbols such ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Was The 2003 Invasion Of Iraq A Legitimate Humanitarian... Was the 2003 invasion in Iraq a legitimate humanitarian intervention? Whether the 2003 invasion in Iraq was a legitimate humanitarian intervention or not, is two folded. For instance, when viewed in the perspective of protecting the Iraqi citizens from the inhumane reign that they were subjected to, the invasion can said to be legitimate humanitarian intervention. On the other hand, when the invasion is seen in terms of its aftermath such as the destruction caused by it, the unpredictability nature of the war (Lambeth, 2013), and its effect that undermined the motives or rather the expectations of the Iraqi citizens, since it was associated with mass killings, then the invasion will not be regarded as a legitimate humanitarian intervention. The non legitimacy of the humanitarian intervention is evident whereby, the invasion in Iraq by the US, Great Britain along with other coalition forces turned out to be disastrous. This is because, it aggravated the humanitarian crisis and also had a major political, military, legal, economic and strategic consequences. Even though Saddam Hussein did not set any fires to the Iraqi oil fields or use the alleged weapons related to mass destruction, the war had numerous serious results that ranged from death along with destruction in Iraq, and also led to regional instability (Wehrey, 2010), despite the fact that itdid not take long. • 7. The Caucasian Chalk Circle In The Caucasian Chalk Circle, Brecht combined the theme of motherhood with revolutionary ideas about theatre. Discuss. Bertolt Brecht s play The Caucasian Chalk Circle is a social and political commentary, focusing on justice and motherhood. Using revolutionary theatrical techniques and devices to reinforce his theme, Brecht attempts to free his audience from the constraints of traditional theatre, enabling them to make impartial judgments of their own. Despite combining these radical ideas about theatre with the theme of motherhood, Brecht does not wholly succeed in alienating the audience, as it is impossible for them to totally distance themselves from such an emotive subject as motherhood. Grusha represents all that a good mother should be. She continues to care for Michael, even after she is advised to leave the child behind. She is forced to flee the city in order to protect him from the ironshirts. She pays two piasters, equivalent to a week s wages, so that he can have milk. She does not abandon him when the ironshirts catch up with them but hits one over the head with a piece of wood, allowing them to escape. Grusha is forced to make many self sacrifices in order to save Michael. She does so financially, emotionally, in terms of her promise to Simon, and in terms of her life. When her brother Lavrenti insists that she must marry Jussup in order to make Michael a legitimate child , she agrees, thus breaking her engagement promise to Simon. When she is confronted by the Ironshirts and must choose between claiming Michael as her child and losing Simon, or disclaiming Michael and regaining Simon s love and respect, She chooses Michael. In doing so, she sacrifices her future happiness with Simon. Grusha gives up everything that is important in her life in order to keep Michael safe. • 13. Investigating The Coefficient Of Thermal Conductivity For... Lab Report Module Name: Mechanical Principles (ENGD1005) Experiment Name: Thermal Conductivity Student P number: P14177341 Lab Tutor : Dr Rick Greenough Date: 26/11/2014 Objectives of the experiment: The objective of the experiment was to measure and determine the coefficient of thermal conductivity for copper and stainless steel. Background: Thermal conduction is the transfer of heat energy in a material due to the temperature gradient. It always takes place from a region of high temperature to a region of low temperature. Heat transfers at a higher rate across materials that have high thermal conductivity than across materials with low thermal conductivity. Thermal conductivity is temperature dependant. Apparatus: Thermocouple potentiometer Cussons thermal conductivity apparatus. Measuring beaker Procedure: Firstly before the experiment begins ensure the apparatus has been set up correctly, i.e checking if all dials are in their correct position. After the apparatus has been set up, what should be done is the temperatures of the cold water in and hot water out should be noted down, this is done by reading the temperature gauges on the cussons thermal conductivity apparatus . After temperature of cold water in and hot water out has been noted you can move onto using the Thermocouple potentiometer to find the temperature of the water as it is heated through the metals and out of the metals. This can be done by putting the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 14. Fungi Are Fungi Different From Plants Fungi are a group of living organisms which are classified in their own kingdom. This means they are not animals, plants, or bacteria. Unlike bacteria, which have simple prokaryotic cells, fungi have complex eukaryotic cells like animals and plants. Fungi are found throughout the Earth including on land, in the water, in the air, and even in plants and animals. They vary widely in size from microscopically small to the largest organisms on Earth at several square miles large. There are more than 100,000 different identified species of fungi. How are fungi different from plants? Fungi were once classified as plants. However, they are different from plants in two important ways: 1) fungi cell walls are composed of chitin rather than cellulose (plants) and 2) fungi do not make their own food like plants do through photosynthesis. Characteristics of Fungi They are eukaryotic. They get their food by decomposing matter or eating off their hosts as parasites. They do not possess chlorophyll like plants. They reproduce through numerous spores rather than pollen, fruit, or seeds. They are usually not motile, meaning they cannot actively move around. Roles of Fungi Food Many fungi are used as food such as mushrooms and truffles. Yeast, a type of fungi, is used when baking bread to help it rise and to ferment beverages. Decomposition Fungi play an important role in the decomposition of organic matter. This decomposition is necessary for many of the cycles of life such as the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Angel Raich is a California resident who has a medical condition that causes her to be in excruciating pain. Angel s physician had tried numerous treatments and medicines to help her with the pain, but nothing has seemed to work. In 1996 voters in the State of California voted that the use of marijuana for medicinal purposes should be legal. In November 1996 the law was put into use. The high ruling of the case decided that she was guilty until further pressed when the Ninth circuit, then ruled that the medicinal use of marijuana did not substantially affect intrastate commerce and that Congress had no ruling in this case. I agree with the ending decision of the case. It is my opinion that if a physician prescribes a prescription that is helping cure the problem, then it should be the patients right to take these actions to survive. In today s society the legalization of medicinal use of marijuana is becoming more common amongst the states. There are 24 states that recognize and accept patient registry or ID cards for medicinal use. Out of these 24 states, California is the only state to not have a specification on the condition you have to have to get prescribed a patient ID. Epilepsy is the main condition that the other 23 states recognize as a condition worthy of prescribing the use of medicinal cards. Of the 24 states only Colorado and Washington allow citizens to use the drug recreationally. One of the main supporting arguments held for legalizing marijuana was that by taxing the drug it would bring in budgets for things such as money needed for schools, also much needed money in the health care field. It also would give the opportunity to free up police resources. One valid point was that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

EMB separates fecal coliforms that are produced through carbohydrates that are fermentable, such as sucrose and lactose. The different fecal coliforms represent the differential factor of this test, while the selective factor selects against gram positive organisms. Lactose fermenters appear purple, pink, blue, and black colonies, while non lactose fermenters appear clear to light orange. This occurs because Eosin Y and methylene indicators react at low pH forming the purple precipitate. On the other hand, vigorous fermenters appear metallic green indicate either coliform production or lactose ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The selectivity for halophiles refers to a bacterium s ability to grow in a salt environment. The media differentiated between mannitol fermenters and non fermenters. The yellow agar meant that the bacterium was a fermenter, whereas no color change meant that the bacterium was not a fermenter. In Table 1, the test observed growth of colonies and a pink agar. The growth indicated that the bacterium represented a halophilic nature, while the pink agar indicated no fermentation of mannitol. Research discovered that E. coli had no growth of colonies and no change in media. Therefore, E. coli was ruled out. Also, B. megaterium and E. faecalis were discovered to have yellow medias from being able to ferment mannitol. However, in this lab, the unknown bacterium did not ferment mannitol. As a result, all the potential bacteria did not fit the expected results, so this test did not work. In the end, category IV tests did not represent helpful information that would help identify the unknown bacterium, since the bacterium indicated different observations compared to expected observations for eosin methylene blue agar and mannitol salts agar. While the memoir is based in the country of Cambodia and the novel is based in the country of Indonesia, they both have astronomical similarities. For example, in the memoir Across Three Wildernesses , the author is telling his life story of how he grew up as a young boy and traveled to America to have a better education. Upon his return home, some eight years later, the quiet life in Cambodia he once knew changed very quickly. He, along with his wife, son, and mother in law were forced out of their homes and into a concentration camp. This was a time when one country was trying to force its beliefs on another country. • 23. The Law Has Shaped Law Law has shaped many factors in society such as race and gender. Laws reflect the values of society, and historically we can see that laws were created in order to maintain power for the white, male population. In order to do this, law had to create the idea of the other since race and gender are not natural occurrences. Race and gender although not real, are powerful social phenomenons that have shaped law and society. Difference is identifiable. Unlike the Jews in Germany, or the Catholics in Ireland, Blacks constantly wear their identity, unable to hide or disguise it to those who seek harm. Furthemore, femininity as society dictates it is about being the opposite, or the other of masculinity. As Hanley Lopez states in his work, skin complexion, hair texture and length, and nose width are all signifiers of difference, and this has been historically used to decide who was enslaved, who was free, and who had what rights. Today these features are used to create the idea of race and gender and apply social constructions about these groups to individual people. Race and gender are not natural facts. There is nothing biological about race, one can not single out the black or the white gene in the human genome. The Structure Of Animal And Plant Cells Question one: the differences between the structure of animal and plant cells In general both animal cells and plant cells have the similar structures, however they do have some differences. Plant cells have a cell wall, this strengthens the cell,it also gives it shape and protects it from infection. Plant cells also have chloroplasts which absorb light energy, this is vital for photosynthesis. Plant cell also have a vacuole, however unlike the ones found in animal cells they are much larger. Vacuoles store food and nutrients essential for the plants survival it may also contain cell sap, this keeps the cell large and swollen with water. They may even store waste products for the cell. This can prevent the cell from contamination.(1) Another difference is the position of the nucleus in the cells. In a plant cell it s positioned on the outer edges of the cell this is because the vacuole takes place in the middle of the cell. In a nucleus there is the majority of the cell s. It also contain genetic material and DNA for the cell. (2) In animal cells the general position of the nucleus is in the middle of the cell. Plant cells don t have a certain shape however they do have a structure that resembles a rectangle shape, this is due to the rigid cell wall they have.(10) Animal cells on the other hand do not have a distinct cell wall, they have an irregular shape. Social Institutions And Its Impact On Society For sake of discussion, I used the words most influential only in a positive and/or inspiring sense, meaning society would benefit most from these social institutions. Conversely, I could have argued that the least influential social institutions are good and/or beneficial to our society, but our society chooses to ignore them; and the most influential social institution plague our society. However, I chose the former the positive and/or inspiring sense of the words. Social institutions are the organized, usual, or standard ways that a society meets its basic needs (P. 104). Moreover, functionalists identify five functional requisites that each society must meet to insure their survival (Pp. 104 106). With this in mind, Family and the Economy are the most influential social institutions in industrial society. Henslin stated in Chapter 3 that Our experiences in the family and other groups during childhood lay down the basic orientations to life (p. 94). Families offer guidance as well as protection from the larger, and sometimes hurtful, society. Furthermore, loving families provide socialization, identity, and comfort, all of which have an essential role in the development of the self (Pp. 104 106). For example, weblogs are produced by web servers running Apache or Internet Information Server (IIS). Operating systems, firewalls, and Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) record event information in log files. Applications also record user activities in log files [Abad03]. Any activities performed during a security breach will most likely result in log entries being recorded in one or more log files. These attacks cannot be identified by a single log entry occurrence, but instead can be identified through a series of entries spanning several minutes [Abad03]. The amount of data logged per system can be in excess of several thousand events per minute. Additionally, these files are distributed across the network. In order to process and analyze the log data, it must be integrated. Integrating highly heterogeneous data from multiple sources requires a massive centralized data repository [Kott13]. This data repository meets the complexity requirements as defined by Big Data. Big Data is defined by three characteristics: volume, velocity, and variety. Volume is the size of the data stored, and is measured in terabytes, petabytes, or exabytes. Velocity is the rate at which data is generated. • 34. Pattern Of Behavior In Charles Baxter s Gryphon In the story Gryphon (fictional) by Charles Baxter, There are two main question that are important to the whole entire story. Why does Tommy defend Miss Ferenczi? And What do you learn about Tommy from this pattern of behavior? There are some evidence to actually solve the answers. The first explanation to question to why Tommy likes Mrs. F is that on page (57, line 430 to 431) it talks about how Tommy was telling Carl Whiteside, the boy who has bad breath and collect lots of marbles in a jar about a fake combination to make it sound real so he convinced him that it s possible . and he combined a human being and a hamster. it s called a humster. Next explanation, on (pg.50, l. 445) Mrs. F tells tommy whispered over his shoulder telling the word balcony. I don t like that either, It s ugly my feeling is if you don t like a word don t use it. Therefore it was a surprise when a woman we had never seen came into the class the next day, carrying a purse, a checkerboard lunch box, and a few books. , She had put her hair down and twisted it into pigtails, with red rubber bands holding them tight one inch from the ends. She was wearing a green blouse and pink scarf, making her difficult to at for a full class day. , Once again she was different: this time, her hair hung straight down and seemed hardly to have been comed. • 35. Persuasive Essay About Food Bank Food banks are a terrible solution to a terrible issue. Hunger is one of the biggest issues the human race experiences. One in nine people in the world, or 795 million people, out of the 7.4 billion people go hungry every day because they do not have enough to eat. Every 10 seconds, a child dies from hunger related diseases (The Hunger Project, 2017). The way lots of organizations try to help these people in need are through food banks. A food bank is a non profit, charitable organization that distributes to those who have difficulty purchasing enough food to avoid hunger. Food banks are inefficient in aspects of time, money, and effort because so much more can be done through donations of money, not non perishable foods and items. ... Another issue arises though, it needs to be transported from the warehouse to the appropriate drop off place, which is most likely in a high density residential area, not an industrial area. The time it takes for all this to happen is simply too much and non efficient. We are in an era where time is valuable. Everyone is so busy with their lives, be it for work, school, family, or hobbies, it is unnecessary to spend all this time just to donate something that not even the buyer would eat. To show an example, let s say a donator s name is David. David works a 9 5 job which pays $20 per hour and has three kids, two of which have swimming practice after school. David picks up his kids at 5:30, and goes home right in time for dinner. On his dinner table, he has high quality foods that are packed with nutrients. David remembers there s a food drive raffle near his workplace that is looking for donations for a chance to win a grand prize. David now has to go out of his way to go to a grocery store to buy non perishable foods. Instead of wasting his time going, he can go to the food bank and simply donate money. If David was planning on spending $5 and 45 minutes for the whole process, from purchasing the items to dropping them off, he actually spent $20 plus a few extra dollars for gas. Instead of wasting 45 minutes of his time to get $5 worth of food, he could easily have donated $25, which go a long way. This will be explained later, but ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
