Breakfast Club Stereotypes
Don t Judge a Book by it s Cover In the piece, don t judge a book by it s cover , the overall protest
statement is against the stereotyping society is conditioned to instinctually do, as well as the alienation
against those who do not act accordingly to their stereotype. This situation occurs during basic
interactions in public, however this situation is witnessed in the prime in the selected contact zone of
Barnes and Noble. This concept is not surface leveled, the basic situation actually stems from a deeper
element. The core concept of this piece is the estrangement which occurs in social interactions,
targeted to those who interact within the Barnes and Noble store. This store was chosen due to the
concept of it being a contact zone, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What causes these tactics to fail? The media denounces one stereotype with another, which is what
occured in the Breakfast Club, as well as the majority of movies which follow suit. An example of this
is: in the Breakfast Club, the crazy criminal ends up being very considerate, the athlete ends up being
compassionate, the quiet basket case ends up having an outward personality, the nerd ends up not
falling in love with either of the girls (which would be expected due to the desperate vibe unpopular
students are always conveyed as having), and the stuck up princess ends up allowing herself to view
the criminal through a new contact

A State Of Siege By Mahmoud Darwish
renewing itself , what you ve made of my soul .
3. Political/Philosophical act
Mahmoud Darwish wrote A State of Siege in 2002 as an emotional reaction to the second Intifada. Or
in other words, as a testimony to the tragedies on the political and humanitarian level that his people
have suffered. Darwish considers that it is both a philosophical and political fact that it is necessary to
refuse the status quo and fixity; he even considers it to be the engine for his survival. He refuses to
accept the circumstances given after the second Intifada, and this political act is clear in the complete
book length poem entitled A State of Siege : Because reality is an ongoing text, lovely, white, without
malady .

In other words, it is when people use the image to show their approach and attitudes towards life in
their community and in the world. Or as Lakoff and Johnson said in their book concerning this
subject: a culture may be thought of as providing, among other things, a pool of available metaphors
for making sense of reality . The cultural approach of metaphors is what made Mandelblit analyze the
translation of metaphors from a cognitive perspective, which focuses on the cultural beliefs and values
of the source language and of the target language, especially when it is the case between two very
different languages. Arabic and English are languages that are very distinct and on several levels;
especially on the linguistic and cultural level. However, even if both languages are different, the
differences in economic, political and environmental factors among numerous societies may be
completely important, human societies are connected by a similar biological history. The reality in
which humans live is certainly not the same, but it is on the whole and large alike, as Chitoran

Integrated Marketing Communications
Integrated Marketing Communications is a simple concept. It ensures that all forms of
communications and messages are carefully linked together.
At its most basic level, Integrated Marketing Communications, or IMC, as we ll call it, means
integrating all the promotional tools, so that they work together in harmony.
Promotion is one of the Ps in the marketing mix. Promotions has its own mix of communications
tools.
All of these communications tools work better if they work together in harmony rather than in
isolation. Their sum is greater than their parts providing they speak consistently with one voice all the
time, every time.
This is enhanced when integration goes beyond just the basic ... Show more content on

This may also confuse, frustrate and arouse anxiety in customers. On the other hand, integrated
communications present a reassuring sense of order.
Consistent images and relevant, useful, messages help nurture long term relationships with customers.
Here, customer databases can identify precisely which customers need what information when... and
throughout their whole buying life.
Finally, IMC saves money as it eliminates duplication in areas such as graphics and photography since
they can be shared and used in say, advertising, exhibitions and sales literature. Agency fees are
reduced by using a single agency for all communications and even if there are several agencies, time
is saved when meetings bring all the agencies together for briefings, creative sessions, tactical or
strategic planning. This reduces workload and subsequent stress levels one of the many benefits of
IMC.

Esl Class Observation
Introduction
In this report, I will describe a teacher and her students in an observation I did in a 8th grade of Liceo
de San Miguel in Desamparados which is known as a problematic high school due to constantly
problems of drugs and alcohol in some of its students. The purpose of this report is to reflect on the
teacher s class organization strategies and class environment in relation with what I have learned in the
class of Didactics 1 from the professor Jonnathan Elizondo in the U.I.A. Throughout this paper, a
variety of organization techniques will be describe. In order to understand better the method that the
teacher used during this observation; is it very important recall that Grammar Translation Method is

After all these, in the English teacher s classroom she asked her students if they had any doubts from
previous chapter in order to be clear and ready for the test that her students were supposed to have the
following week and nobody say a word. After that, the teacher goes over some vocabulary words that
were in a reading passage of the workbook that they were using. All students exchanged language by
comparing their answers with each other and checking their work by giving the correct translation in
Spanish. Teacher tells students to write down the correct answers for the questions presented in their
workbooks. Teacher told her students to look at some sings and draws provided in the workbook that
talks about recycling. Then students work individually in those drawings and sings from the workbook
in order to find out the meaning of each recycling sings. In the mean time, the teacher walks around
the class to assist the other students for around 10 minutes basically translating any doubts or
questions in the students native language. Teacher showed students a reading passage from the
workbook about pollution and the effects in our planet and some students were sending text messages
to each other instead of doing their work. The teacher caught them and told them to turn them off and
put away their cell phones. After that, the students continue working on the previous assignment
mentioned above. A group of students did not seem to understand the

The Apology Of Plato Apology
At the beginning of The Apology, Socrates is directly speaking to the jury in Athens. In the beginning
of the apology Socrates speaks of accusations that have been made against him throughout his life.
There seems to be two different kinds of accusations. The first being biases accusations that have been
made on throughout his past and the other being recent accusations. Socrates explains he was accused
of being, a wise man, a student of all things in the sky and below the earth, who makes the worse
argument the stronger. He is also accused of persuading the individuals from the time he was a young
child. He sincerely believes he should not be at the trail, and that all these accusations are merely
false. Socrates is also accused of being a Sophist similar to Prodicus of Ceos and Hippias of Elis. Due
to rumors and prejudices, it seems that the jury has already decided the fate of Socrates, which is
ultimately death. As I read through the first part of his speech, I felt a sense of hopelessness as if a
room was filling with water with no way out. It is never enjoyable to be accused of something that I
may not have done, especially if the consequence is death. Furthermore, Socrates is also accused of
corrupting the youth, and not believing in the Athenian Gods. Basically, accused of being an atheist.
At this point there is dialogue between Socrates and a man named Meletus. In the past Meletus has
been known to be irresponsible along with bringing unsuitable cases to

Softball Magical Run Through SCAC Tournament Comes to Close
SAN ANTONIO, Texas The Ladies may have come up short in a bid to win the Southern Collegiate
Athletic Conference Tournament, but the Maroon and White sure made their stay a memorable one.
Fifth seeded Centenary (23 22) knocked out sixth seeded Schreiner (9 31) 4 2 and third seeded Dallas
(21 23) 9 0 before falling to top seeded Texas Lutheran (41 3) 10 2 in six innings in the second day of
the SCAC Tournament, hosted by Trinity in San Antonio, Texas.
Centenary and eventual champion Texas Lutheran both led the tournament by ending a pair of team s
seasons. With the Ladies finishing third, freshmen Nichole Aldridge (pitcher) and Margeux Smith
(designated player) were both named to the SCAC All Tournament team.

bunt. Sexton and Moran followed with singles to tie the game.
While Aldridge retired the side in order in the second, she showed fatigue as she allowed two in the
third, and one each in the fourth and fifth. Grace Estes singled to lead off the third for the Bulldogs
and scored on J Gallager s triple. T Yancey singled to put Texas Lutheran up 4 2 after three innings.
Ford and Moran led Centenary in the series finale by going 2 for 3 from the plate with an RBI.
Aldridge took the loss, allowing 11 hits and seven runs (six earned) in 5.2 innings of work.
Texas Lutheran was led by Estes 3 for 4 day from the plate with two runs. Veny Pizana recorded the

Analysis Of Before I Fall
Before I Fall directed by Ry Russo Young and written by Maria Maggenti is a teen drama film
released in 2017 that is about a teenage girl who lives the same day over and over again. Despite
having a compelling lead performance played by Zoe Deutch and a powerful soundtrack full of
ballads, Before I Fall still took a turn with a generic plot line, choppy dialogue and cliché. Although I
loved the performance given by Deutch and how she was able to show the characters development
through emotions and her acting, that still doesn t mean the movie was perfect.
The movie was like Mean Girls put through a time loop. Before I Fall deals with a teenage girl forced

Sam s whole story is that she s a mean girl who realizes that maybe she shouldn t be mean to people.
(by the way it took her too long to figure out that maybe Juliet was the reason she was living the same
day over and over again). The mind irking thing is that she never once told her friends that they should
stop bullying Juliet or try to befriend her. Instead, she presents this half played, pitiful redemption that
leaves the audience thinking that it was an act of heroism (I begged a differ).
There are moments in Before I Fall where the dialogue lacked intelligence. It was almost as if the
director wanted to be quick and get to the point of creating a movie that deals with time loop, and not
think twice about whether the dialogue should make sense. There s a scene in the movie where Sam is
thinking back on the last 24 hours of her life before the car accident where her and the other three girls
are bullying Juliet, and then she says this line That was forever ago... that was yesterday. There were
reasons that the audience watching this film to think okay that doesn t make sense. Saying something
forever ago and that it happened yesterday just contradicts itself, the line I think should have been

Mission Statement Of Amnesty International
Amnesty International is a non profit organization that help in the fighting of human rights all around
the globe, this organization was founded by Peter Benenson in United kingdom 1961. International
has close to about 7 million members all around the world, and their main objective is to ensure that
human rights are never violated and also to help get justice to those whose right has been tempered
with. And also they help them prevent violation of any form of films right both locally and
internationally.
The motto of Amnesty International states that It is better to light a candle than to curse the darkness.
And there vision is of a world in which every person enjoys all of the human rights enshrined in the
Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international human rights standards.
In pursuit of this vision, Amnesty International s mission is to undertake research and action focused
on preventing and ending grave abuses of the rights to physical and mental integrity, freedom of
conscience and expression, and freedom from discrimination, within the context of its work to
promote all human rights.
And indeed the motto states it all because Amnesty international services has contributed largely in the
area of ensuring proper human right, they ve done so by rendering the services of legal advocacy,
media attentions, direct appeal campaigns, research and lobbying. The Amnesty international has done
greatly in contributing globally where ever there is

Evaluation Of A Research On Software And Tool Path Generation

The Patterns Of Teen Drug Abuse
A pattern that we ve seen erupt over the last couple of years is the habit of teenagers and young adults
falling prey to party drugs, there s been a sense of normalcy placed along with a pill popping culture,
you ll notice rappers almost romanticizing and influencing teenagers into experimenting with
prescription drugs. What most people don t take into consideration before consuming these drugs is
that most prescription opioids have addictive side effects, that when taken in long term or copious
amounts can cause the user to experience withdrawals and ultimately draw them back in a continuous
cycle. Most would say, why can t they just not take the drugs? Or claim it was the users fault because
they know better. While they are not entirely right, it s not wrong either. Research shows that a large
majority of teens will find themselves in a position where they will be offered drugs before the age of
14 at a party, this decision will ultimately affect their life in the long run, be it becoming a social
outcast from their peers for not trying these drugs, or taking them and developing an addiction that
will surely harm their bodies before they ve truly became adults.
Teen drug overdose is an issue that dates back over multiple generations, with each finding their own
ways to get recreational highs. However, there was a significant increase in death from years 1999 to
2007 within age groups 15 19(1). As time goes on, higher percentages of teens experiment with

Comparison Of Professor Marsten And The Wonder Woman
As far as who will write the script for this adaptation, I would like to have the author of the book also
pen the screenplay. It is his story and I want to respect that ultimately any changes made to the
material would be changing his vision, and because of this I would like to give him more creative
license over the film. He also currently still owns the rights to the material and I believe that he will be
more likely to hand them over to someone if he is promised a say in the final product. It seems that
one of the main reasons authors do not sell the rights to their material, is because they are concerned
about not having any creative license in the final product. In allowing Dale Peck to write the
screenplay, not only will the film maintain the tone of the book, it will also motive him to allow the
film to be made in the first place. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Parable Of The Prodigal Son Thesis Statement
INTRODUCTION
My thesis statement is about how the Parable of the Prodigal Son can be used to understand the mercy
of God.
I will show the reader the different ways we can understand the mercy of God in the Parable of the
Prodigal Son through the following sections that describe the process of mercy as a conversion, from
who are the main characters in the parable within the gospel of Luke to how that mercy is destroyed
by the different actions of the human being.
The (1) first section is about who are the human beings in the Parable of the Prodigal Son, their
principal role and actions in the story followed by; (2) section two about the self awareness of the
Prodigal Son, who was truly the prodigal son and what he desired in life; (3) the ... Show more content

The Parable of the Prodigal Son is extremely rich in meaning, especially in mercy. Mercy constitutes
the center of Christian spirituality and of our life in Christ; it is a very clear and profound
representation of the reality of the human being when he does not appreciate the goodness and love of
God. The parable of the Prodigal Son presents the moment in which the youngest son moves away
from the father in a selfish way, disregarding the goodness of the fatherly love, to begin an uncertain
journey that he believes will bring him to fuller and more abundant life, and he departs in search for
freedom and happiness.
The parable describes, then, a progress; slow at first, but triumphant at the end when he returns, with a
broken heart and freely abandoned, to his father s house. The God of Mercy in the parable invites the
human being to discover the meaning of life through the experience of the lost son who begins to
discover himself as a human being and reveals himself before his

how the states were created with their political and economic link with industrialised nations. This as a
result has led to industrialised countries experimenting ill designed development concepts in

economic grounds. He further stated that underdevelopment is used by industrialised countries to

Background Body (1600 1800 words)
The word bank and IMF are the two main global financial institutions that lend money to various
developed and developing countries. According to Wolff (2013) these institutions came into being in
1944 after the Bretton woods conference to establish a firm global economy after the world war two.
The purpose of these institutions was to stimulate a stable development and offer unconditional loans
to nations in economic crisis so as to achieve their developmental needs (Wolff, 2013). However, these
never saw the daylight, due to pressure experienced from the US legislatures, also known as the
Washington Consensus which as a result led the IMF and World Bank to lend money with harsh
conditions.

Self Disclosure Essay example
To disclose or not to disclose?, That question usually comes when you start a new relationship with a
friend, a boy friend, a new job or any new relationship, but disclosing can also happen with people we
have known for a long time or not. Scholars define self disclosure as sharing information with others
that they would not normally know or discover, but I feel like each person has his or her own way of
defining what self closure is. To me, self disclosure is letting myself go and trusting the person I am
disclosing to, it involves risk and vulnerability on my part sharing important information to someone.
Therefore I go back to the question I posed before, do I trust this person or not, do I love this person to

more disclosing it became a challenge in our relationship, as time went by I learned to trust him, let
him know my vulnerability and I took a risk of opening to him. It turned out to be a very and happy
relationship where I allowed myself to let go and have someone I can talk to things that I would not
want to bother my mother with. and also allowed myself to let him know of my deepest fears and my
inner most feelings When it comes to self disclosure at work, I am not one to disclose to my co
workers since I feel like my private life and my work place are two different entities and what I may
tell my co worker can be used against me one day, therefore I disclose as less as possible. The
realizations I have on self disclosure is that, it is one way of letting my self go. Letting another human
being know my inner most feelings and my fears. I am a very private person and I tend to not say
much about myself unless I know the person very well. I tend to not to like people who disclose a lot
of information to me mainly if we do not have a very close relationship, because to me that means I
also have to let them in on some of my inner most feelings. I feel like even if they are a lot of

Causes Of The English Reformation
The English Reformation occurs during the Renaissance era officially beginning with Henry VIII
breaking from the Catholic Church in Rome. The country s religion sways back and forth from
Catholicism and Protestantism due to the reigns of Henry s legitimate children: Edward VI, Mary I,
and Elizabeth I. In 1485, Henry VII became the King of England when he killed King Richard III in
battle. Henry VII had two legitimate sons named Arthur and Henry to inherit the throne when he dies.
Arthur married at the age of nine to Catherine Aragon, the Spanish Princess, who was fourteen at the
time. They went their separate ways before commencement and Arthur died a few years later of
natural causes. Henry VIII was next in line to the throne and became King. When he was fourteen, he
wanted to marry his brother s widow, Catherine, who was seven years older than him. He bribed the
Pope to allow that marriage to his brother s widow. Once the marriage was approved, Henry decided
he needed an heir to the throne. At the time, women were not rulers of countries and therefore they did
not inherit the throne. Catherine had two boys, but both of them died either within seven days or was
stillborn. She ended up having one surviving child, a girl named Mary. As days went by, Catherine
was getting older and still did not produce an heir to the throne. Henry soon became more attracted to
her intern, Anne. Henry VIII went back to the Pope wanting an annulment from Catherine with a small

difficult. We shall see. I will share all of my frustrations with you. SECOND STEP: I read my first

although I know html I am no programmer. Knowing and learning Javascript will give me an extra
edge as it will allow for many little extras that html cannot do. Its purpose I learn as I read on is that it
will allow information not originally put there to be added to an html document. (This sounds good or
bad, depending on who is adding the information! yet my cold feet is not stopping me. I read on.) Java
script creates cookies; (yum) can detect the browser of the one visiting your web site and can act
accordingly and do all kinds of tricks. Along about this time I surmise that javascript is hiding in my

Renewable vs. Non-Renewable Energy Resources
Renewable Vs. Non renewable Energy Resources: Environmental and Economical Advantages and
Disadvantages
Imagine a life without washing machines, dryers, refrigerators, computers, televisions, lights, and cars.
Imagine a planet so polluted that smog is in the air so bad that one cannot see very far, lakes and
streams are poisoned, and land so badly scarred from people trying to find more energy sources. One
day this may be a reality if we do not do something to change how we use our energy resources. This
may be the case if society keeps using non renewable energy resources at its current consumption rate.
Our saving grace may be the development and use of using renewable energy resources. Renewable

Renewable Energy Resources
Pollution
Renewable energy resources are clean because they not only come from the environment but there is
no need to change chemically the source in order to get usable energy. The sun for instance gives off
heat, which warms our planet. This same heat can be used to warm water pipes, which can heat a
business or home. This definitely requires no equipment to acquire this energy. The sun as a resource
can also excite particles in a solar collector. According to Merriam Webster dictionary, solar collectors
are various devices used in the absorption of solar radiation to heat water or produce electricity,
(Dictionary and Thesauras Marriam Webster Online, 2007 2008). These excited particles generate
electricity. There does not necessarily have to be direct sunlight, for this process. Even on a cloudy
day, energy can be produced though lower than on a sunny day. Since the sun will be here for another
million to billion years from now this process can continue forever. Using the sun as an energy source
means that no pollution will be generated from it being converted into usable energy.
Wind power is another renewable energy source. Wind is generated from the sun heating the Earth.
Humans have been harnessing the power in wind for hundreds of years. Humans have used it

Essay about Rhetoric vs. Truth
The relationship between rhetoric and truth is a highly conflicted topic. Two philosophers that discuss
this topic are Plato and Nietzsche. Plato argues that rhetoric is merely a useful craft that deals only in
the subjective and material world rather than in the pursuit of true knowledge. Nietzsche, on the other
hand, argues that absolute truths are unobtainable since individuals are incapable of being completely
objective, thereby rendering the debate between rhetoric and truth meaningless. Although both are
valid points of view, Nietzsche s argument appears to hold more weight insofar as it seems to solve the
debate between rhetoric and truth by eliminating absolute truth altogether. To begin, Plato s view of
rhetoric stems from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is one of the reasons why he believes that rhetoric is not synonymous with truth. Plato argues
against rhetoric because it deals in the material world, which is not the place where ideas exist, nor
does it attempt to attain truth. Rhetoric is more or less, the flawed knowledge of the world being
manipulated by language for everyday matters, such as politics and law, rather than being used in the
pursuit of absolute truths. Rhetoric is therefore useless. He furthers his argument against rhetoric in his
dialogue Gorgias. In Plato s Gorgias, he argues that rhetoric is untruthful by being based on belief, as
well as having the potential for manipulation and deception. In the dialogue, Plato has Socrates
distinguish between true knowledge and belief. He argues that there can be false as well as true
beliefs, however, there is only true knowledge one is concrete while the other is changeable and
unpredictable. Hence, it follows that knowledge and belief are associated and utilized in different
professions and subject areas. So, Socrates has Gorgias admit that rhetoric is limited to the fields of
politics and law, which he argues deal in persuasion that is based on belief as oppose to instructing
about a true knowledge of right and wrong. For example, an orator or lawyer may induce a belief
about justice, but cannot actually convey a true

follows a brief power loss at roughly 0230 hours where power failed for upwards of 8 seconds.
However, electrical power had been restored before the generator power could assume power
capabilities. Initially, at 1140 hours, the power failed and came back on briefly which then electrical
power had been lost all together. All Engineering Department Mission Partners immediately
responded to the Power Plant in an attempt to rectify the failure. The Emergency Management
Coordinator responded to the main floor of the medical center and met up with hospital
administration. While en route to the main level, it had been discovered that two way radio traffic was
impossible. The inoperability was due to the radio repeater not transmitting because of the ... Show

to sophisticated systems that are used in analyzing and collecting online transaction data. Pizza Hut®

Modernism In Modern Architecture
breeding from the unruly mood at the beginning of the 20th century, modernism was a profound
approach that craved to stimulate and renovate the way modern civilization pictured life, art, politics,
literature and science. It is a classical trend of thoughts that ratifies the power of human beings to
create, improve and reshape their environment with the aid of scientific knowledge, technological
advancements and practical experimentation. As a trend, it is less lucid, its perimeter looser, than, say,
classicism. a number of analysts would contend that modernism isn t a single trend , that it embodies a
great array of aesthetics and sensibilities. It encouraged the re analysis of every aspect of survival

Their buildings used geometric forms, glass panels and other designs. The ornamental elements

structures were designed and constructed in light of the machine with bold use of steel. Modern
architects created details and building systems that aimed at machine manufacturing and making. With
modernism, symmetry gave path to regularity. Form follows function , an adage meaning that the
result of design must evolve directly from its purpose. Also modern architecture was simple and clear

Foreign Direct Investment Into Pakistan
Title:
Causes of Foreign direct investment into Pakistan.
Aim and objectives:
The dissertation topic will focus on the importance of foreign direct investment into Pakistan s
Economy and will also focus around the causes of foreign direct investment. The report will look into
three different perspectives such as, the effects on FDI pre and post 9/11, investment in different
sectors of industry and the importance of investing countries in terms of contributing towards
developing Pakistan s infrastructure or helping financially to fight the War against terror . Moreover,
the report also provides an insight to what can be done to improve the inflow of FDI into Pakistan.
Background of Pakistan s economy and FDI: Since the independence in 1947 the economy of Pakistan
has emerged as a semi industrialized economy and is mainly based on textile, agriculture and food
production. The textile industry contributes around 9% to the country s gross domestic product
(khurram baig, 2013). However, since the start of 2008 the country as a whole has struggled to gain
the confidence of many foreign and local investors due to instability and security concerns and the
country is struggling to gain back the confidence ever since. Although, after 2012 an increase in the
FDI was seen due to improvement in the tertiary sector, this was n mainly due to an increase in
spending power and confidence shown by the local consumers (The World Bank).
Foreign direct investment refers to long term

They ve experienced and faced many more hard trials. The continent became overpopulated; a century
of more had produced a rapid increase in populations especially in the cities. As the century advanced
harvest failures became more frequent. The poor ate whatever they could lay their hands on including,
dogs, cats, and even their own children. Yet there were still a few people left to wage wars, some wars
lasted for generations. While Western Europe suffered economic collapse, the south eastern part of the
continent faced their problems too. Soon a war broke out. In 1453 an all out assault on the walls was
successful. The capital built by the first Christian Emperor, became a Muslim city. It was a devastating
thing to Christian pride. It also dealt a considerable reversal to Christian trade, as western merchants
lost all their trading concessions in the near east. The Venison republic was the worst affected, being
the most exposed and venerable European power in the contest between Islam and Christianity.
Overwhelmingly dependent on the trade and spices exotic goods from the east, the republic required a

effort began to pay off, but soon after a while as the Turks advanced criticism of the republic became
intense. The city of Canals built walls along the Adriatic Sea to keep the Turks out, while

The Benefits Of Cystic Fibrosis
Oftentimes, the first thing that comes to mind when someone mentions an inherited genetic disease is
cancer, or even diabetes. However, there are hundreds and thousands of other inherited diseases that
effect millions of people each year but are over looked or underrepresented for various reasons. An
example of one of these disease is Cystic Fibrosis(CF). There is not much popularity associated with
Cystic Fibrosis because there s limited research on the topic. However, according to the Cystic
Fibrosis Foundation, C.F. is a genetic disease that is essentially a severe cold that never goes away.

R. Tirouvanziam, neutrophils might not be the tight and ridged leukocytes they were previous thought
to be, rather they have a lot of elasticity when it comes to how they unfold in the tissues in the body
(Margaroli and Tirouvanziam 1). This neutrophil elasticity creates a perfect setting for diseased
microenvironments to grow in the body which is often associated with lung disease and C.F.
(Margaroli and Tirouvanziam 1). In C.F. patient s neutrophils are often over worked and there is
neutrophil activity in the body s extracellular fluid which shows the relationship between the
relationship of C.F. patients and this discovery of neutrophil activity (Margaroli and Tirouvanziam 1).
This innovation can lead to more knowledge about the activity and formation on neutrophils and show
scientists more about the underlying cause and potentially a cure/solution for C.F.

The Illusion Of Perception In Heartbeat By Julian Beever
Is what we see always the reality of everything? We tend to think that what see is true, but sometimes
our perceptions of things is not reality. Many magic tricks and optical illusions can trick our brain into
seeing something that s not real. Having our eyes deceiving us multiple times show that how we
perceive things aren t always accurate. First of all, looking at things from a certain perspective can
change the way something looks. For example, Julian Beever, a chalk artist, who draws pavement art
on the streets uses a certain technique in his work. In the book, it states, When seen from one special
angle, these images come together to create the illusion that his anamorphic drawings are truly three
dimensional. Viewed this way, his drawings seem to come to life (Chalk Art 89). In other words, his
drawings can look three dimensional from a certain angle, but looking at it from the side shows that it
s actually flat. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Machiavelli’s Political Ideas and Influence
Machiavelli s Political Ideas and Influence By: Reed Rosencrans The Renaissance took place in Italy
during the fourteenth through sixteenth centuries. The Renaissance was a rebirth and revival of
political and social ideas from the Ancient Greek and Roman eras. One social ideal of the Renaissance
was Humanism. Humanism was a Renaissance idea that emphasis human potential and ability. A
political idea from the Renaissance was political realism. Political realism is when a ruler

Also if a prince is well liked by his subjects it is much easier to accomplish tasks with the interest of
the state. By ruling with interest a prince can be forced to leave power by his subjects. Machiavelli s
third topic is his biggest concern for Italy. After working as an ambassador he noticed that the
barbarians or countries from Northern Europe had large armies with well trained soldiers. Since Italy
relied on mercenaries to do most of the fighting Italy would be taken over by these large, barbaric,
armies if there was ever a war between them. So Machiavelli emphasized that a prince should have a
free standing army. In The Prince he said, Mercenaries are useless and dangerous; and if one holds his
state based on these arms, he will stand neither firm nor safe; for they are disunited, ambitious, and
without discipline, unfaithful, valiant before friends, cowardly before enemies . . If a prince were to
have mercenaries do all the fighting his enemies can overtake him. But if a prince has a large and
powerful army he can intimidate his opponents. Other than being the author of The Prince

What Are The Characteristics Of The Victorian Era
The Victorian Era was a period of great change in English literature where most works were directly
influence by social and political problems of 19th century England. The Victorian Era was a period
spanning Queen Victoria s reign from 1837 to 1901. This period proceeded the Romantic period in
English History which had poetry as its main source of literature. Nevertheless, the most important
genre in the Victorian Period was the novel. In contrast, the Romantic Era, the era prior to the
Victorian Era, most influential genre was poetry. Most of the major literary artist came from England,

Undoubtedly, the literature of this era was relatively easier to read than works from other eras, the plot
was more interesting and easier to understand, and the main protagonist of the novel were the same
people who read it (first person point of view) so the reader was deeply involved in the character s
feelings and adventures. Moreover, the setting of the novels was big, well known, cities that the reader
probably already is familiar with. The Victorian literature characteristics were mostly composed of
social issues that plagued the middle class, and the major changes the population were seeing with
industrialization. Some notable characteristics were for example: industrialization, as seen with
Charlotte Brontë novel Shirley ; serialization, as seen with Charles Dickens The Woman in White ;
social class, taking for example Jane Austen s novel Pride and Prejudice ; Science vs. Religion, the
idea that science could explain what religion could not was challenged by Charles Darwin in his book
The Origin of the Species ; progress, as is the case for Gerge Eliot s novel The Middlemarch ; and
finally, utilitarianism, being manifested in Charles Dickens s novel Hard Times . Most of the
characteristics are caused by Britain s social, industrial, and political changes

All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them , said by Walt Disney himself (

entertainment business, there are going to be people competing to tear each other down, but Walt
Disney kept his focus and determination to take on great things. All it took was one person with a

Clash Of Kings Setting
As a reader objects and settings in books are key elements to make the story limpid. Without elements
such as the setting or the main objects in a book a story has no allure. A story without any key objects
would be like Texas Chainsaw Massacre without any chainsaws. Likewise a story without a setting
would be like walking through an art gallery without any art. ☺ These elements are essential whether
writing about science fiction, or writing about love, without them there is no real rhyme or reason to
the story. The book I am reading, A Clash of Kings by George R. R. Martin, has vivid depictions of
the setting and objects that are key to the story. A few I will focus on will be the object Wildfire, and

them like a flock of dead birds. The haunted forest, Jon thought ruefully, The drowned forest, more
like it (Martin 354). The way Jon expresses the weather around him is crucial to explaining the setting.
Not only does he tell us what the place is known for he also tells us that this place has a very unique
appearance. The haunted forest gives us the illusion of dark shadows, gloomy atmosphere, and tall
trees with gnarled vines. All of these things can be explained by the one phrase. In addition to gloomy
atmosphere there is his statement about how it should be called the drowned forest which indicates
that there is probably lots of water and it is possibly raining very heavily making a dreary and gloomy
place even more so. Without these phrases to describe the setting they are in the story would be bland
and not near as exciting. If we did not have this setting there would be no nerve racking feelings or

Importance Of Interlanguageization
Interlanguage Generalizations and Reasons for Their Use
Learning a new language is a complex process. It involves not only learning vocabulary, structures,
pronunciation, but also learning to use them all accurately and at the right moment. On one hand,
different researchers have demonstrated that the acquisition of the different language structures seem
to take place in a determined order. Nevertheless, some researchers have pointed this process doesn t
happen in a straightforward fashion. As stated by Long (1990:659) it follows a U shaped course
development. It means the learner may be successful at using certain structures occasionally and fail
some other times. Therefore, numerous times, the learner will face situations in which he ... Show

Selinker (1972: 214) states that three sets of observable data from meaningful performances are
needed to establish relevant interlanguage identification: (1) utterances in the learner s native language
(NL) produced by the learner; (2) IL utterances produced by the learner; and (3) TL utterances
produced by native speakers of that TL. (Selinker, 1972: 214) It is also critical to know the context in
which the utterance took place, plus: the learner s age, how his L1 works, his schooling level, how
much L2 availability he has, plus his psychological, personal and emotional developmental stages. All
of those aspects among many others that can affect his language learning ann production process.
Without this information, attempts to analyse isolated sentences can be done, but the results of such
attempts lack validity, since two people can produce the same utterance but their reasons to choose it
may vary.
In order to analyse the sentences part of our study, it is paramount to take into account the five central
processes Selinker accounts for the different erroneous utterances a learner produce within his
interlanguage; and which may become fossilized affecting the learner for a lifetime. Selinker (1972)
classifies those process as:
Language transfer.
Transfer of training.
Strategies of second language learning.
Strategies of second language communication.

fifteen years (North). Americans in today s society are busier than they have been. With people being
busy they cannot find an easy way to make dinner, so they go to fast food restaurants to get food on
the go. Many Americans also believe they are too busy to go shopping for groceries. Being busy is not
the only thing that makes people eat fast food on the go. Why are numerous Americans eating fast

American lives have changed over the years, and eating habits have too. With people having jobs with

More people prefer to get food on the go rather than take the time to make homemade food. Home

The Law Is Made Under The First Amendment Of The United...
I. Introduction In modern American society, there is little thought in how and why the laws came to
be. There is a natural assumption that the laws were made to protect the people and society. The law is
made under the First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States which give the right to the
people to seek its government for redress of any grievances. Utilizing this right, it gives rise to new
laws to be enacted and old laws to be amended or repealed, in the ever developing society. As the
American society progresses, we become more acceptant to compromise our core values. The value of
speaking and writing has been reduced to redundant, ambiguous and vague, incomplete thoughts. Our
mannerisms are guised and restricted to fit the occasion and are hardly rendered otherwise. And our
due diligence to prove and maintain our status in our sexual encounters are becoming a requirement to
endure in our daily lives, regardless of age. Consequently, Americans and its society are evidently
hypersexualized, accurately stated within the book Sexidemic: A Cultural History of Sex in America
(Lawrence R. Samuel), [t]o say that sex plays a major role in everyday life in America would be an
understatement (particularly because it is the source of life itself). Sexuality is a mainstay of American
popular and consumer culture; the adage sex sells is taken to heart by marketers of all kinds...
Recreation too is heavily steeped in sex, with millions of us spending inordinate

The Pros And Cons Of The Shawshank Redemption
A Box Office Flop Doesn t Define a Movie s Legacy
A movie s greatness is often measured by its monetary returns. There are numerous examples of huge
commercial successes that are able to draw dollars from people with each iteration of their product
even when the movies themselves are less memorable. Think of Fast Furious or Transformers, hugely
popular, even producing a great movie from time to time. Less often, is a franchise that produces a
string of great films. Star Wars and James Bond have consistently brought viewers to the box office
over decades. Many of those movies will be watched by generation after generation. Then there is the
oddity, the financial dud that gets better ratings with time. The Shawshank Redemption didn t impress
on opening weekend. It didn t have a surge after a limited release with great reviews. It did have a
compelling story and superb acting providing the viewer an emotional experience. That experience
allowed The Shawshank Redemption become one of the most well regarded movies of recent history.
The Shawshank Redemption started with numerous advantages. The story was based on a novella by
Stephen King. King works had already been tapped to create other memorable movies. The Shining,
Stand by Me and Misery all had critical success. His reputation as a storyteller should have attracted
King s dedicated followers, the previous movie adaptations, cinephiles. Tim Robbins, cast as Andy
Dufresne, had already risen to a certain status with roles

SPEECH PATHOLOGY Many people would like to make a difference, not only in their own life, but
in others lives as well. Deepak Chopra once said, Everyone has a purpose in life...a unique gift or

us, at one point in our lives, have to make the difficult decision of the goals we want to work towards.
We all have certain goals, standards, and expectations of ourselves. Not everyone will figure out what
they want to be right away, and some will know from the very beginning. My plan for my life is

Political/Philosophical act Mahmoud Darwish wrote A State of Siege in 2002 as an emotional reaction to the second Intifada. Or in other words, as a testimony to the tragedies on the political and humanitarian level that his people have suffered. Darwish considers that it is both a philosophical and political fact that it is necessary to refuse the status quo and fixity; he even considers it to be the engine for his survival. • 7. The Apology Of Plato Apology At the beginning of The Apology, Socrates is directly speaking to the jury in Athens. In the beginning of the apology Socrates speaks of accusations that have been made against him throughout his life. There seems to be two different kinds of accusations. The first being biases accusations that have been made on throughout his past and the other being recent accusations. Socrates explains he was accused of being, a wise man, a student of all things in the sky and below the earth, who makes the worse argument the stronger. He is also accused of persuading the individuals from the time he was a young child. He sincerely believes he should not be at the trail, and that all these accusations are merely false. Socrates is also accused of being a Sophist similar to Prodicus of Ceos and Hippias of Elis. Due to rumors and prejudices, it seems that the jury has already decided the fate of Socrates, which is ultimately death. As I read through the first part of his speech, I felt a sense of hopelessness as if a room was filling with water with no way out. It is never enjoyable to be accused of something that I may not have done, especially if the consequence is death. Furthermore, Socrates is also accused of corrupting the youth, and not believing in the Athenian Gods. Basically, accused of being an atheist. Analysis Of Before I Fall Before I Fall directed by Ry Russo Young and written by Maria Maggenti is a teen drama film released in 2017 that is about a teenage girl who lives the same day over and over again. Despite having a compelling lead performance played by Zoe Deutch and a powerful soundtrack full of ballads, Before I Fall still took a turn with a generic plot line, choppy dialogue and cliché. Although I loved the performance given by Deutch and how she was able to show the characters development through emotions and her acting, that still doesn t mean the movie was perfect. The mind irking thing is that she never once told her friends that they should stop bullying Juliet or try to befriend her. Instead, she presents this half played, pitiful redemption that leaves the audience thinking that it was an act of heroism (I begged a differ). There are moments in Before I Fall where the dialogue lacked intelligence. It was almost as if the director wanted to be quick and get to the point of creating a movie that deals with time loop, and not think twice about whether the dialogue should make sense. There s a scene in the movie where Sam is thinking back on the last 24 hours of her life before the car accident where her and the other three girls are bullying Juliet, and then she says this line That was forever ago... that was yesterday. There were reasons that the audience watching this film to think okay that doesn t make sense. What most people don t take into consideration before consuming these drugs is that most prescription opioids have addictive side effects, that when taken in long term or copious amounts can cause the user to experience withdrawals and ultimately draw them back in a continuous cycle. Most would say, why can t they just not take the drugs? Or claim it was the users fault because they know better. While they are not entirely right, it s not wrong either. He also currently still owns the rights to the material and I believe that he will be more likely to hand them over to someone if he is promised a say in the final product. It seems that one of the main reasons authors do not sell the rights to their material, is because they are concerned about not having any creative license in the final product. The sun for instance gives off heat, which warms our planet. This same heat can be used to warm water pipes, which can heat a business or home. • 20. Essay about Rhetoric vs. Truth The relationship between rhetoric and truth is a highly conflicted topic. Two philosophers that discuss this topic are Plato and Nietzsche. Plato argues that rhetoric is merely a useful craft that deals only in the subjective and material world rather than in the pursuit of true knowledge. Nietzsche, on the other hand, argues that absolute truths are unobtainable since individuals are incapable of being completely objective, thereby rendering the debate between rhetoric and truth meaningless. Although both are valid points of view, Nietzsche s argument appears to hold more weight insofar as it seems to solve the debate between rhetoric and truth by eliminating absolute truth altogether. To begin, Plato s view of rhetoric stems from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is one of the reasons why he believes that rhetoric is not synonymous with truth. Plato argues against rhetoric because it deals in the material world, which is not the place where ideas exist, nor does it attempt to attain truth. Rhetoric is more or less, the flawed knowledge of the world being manipulated by language for everyday matters, such as politics and law, rather than being used in the pursuit of absolute truths. Rhetoric is therefore useless. He furthers his argument against rhetoric in his dialogue Gorgias. In Plato s Gorgias, he argues that rhetoric is untruthful by being based on belief, as well as having the potential for manipulation and deception. In the dialogue, Plato has Socrates distinguish between true knowledge and belief. He argues that there can be false as well as true beliefs, however, there is only true knowledge one is concrete while the other is changeable and unpredictable. Hence, it follows that knowledge and belief are associated and utilized in different professions and subject areas. So, Socrates has Gorgias admit that rhetoric is limited to the fields of politics and law, which he argues deal in persuasion that is based on belief as oppose to instructing about a true knowledge of right and wrong.
