Partners In Health Mission John Locke Summary
In the short piece, Partners in Health Mission, it explains the goal of this company which is to
overall help the people suffering with poverty by giving these people healthcare. This statement
uses the ideas of equality and preservation of life by trying to give people embellished with
poverty the ability to be healthlike the rest of the world. This company s goals and values mainly
line up with the ideals and philosophies of enlightenment philosopher John Locke. This is due
to the idea of preserving life because it is a humans natural right to live and is sense of equality
in which everyone receives equal healthcare treatment. Ultimately, this piece uses the ideals and
philosophies of John Locke in the modern day to try to preserve life and create a sense of
equality among people. Is a health care the right of the people who maintain and help society
function or is it a privilege for the rich and famous and is luxury for the middle case? This question

Sadly, their has never been a correct answer to this question, but according to the ideals of
Locke, healthcare should be an individuals right because every human has the right to live,
breathe, obtain property and happiness, and finally be healthy. Locke stated, The natural right of
all man is, life, liberty, and property. This was later adapted into the because of the right that
every person can live, healthcare should be considered a right. This is mainly focused on the
idea that because healthcare healths and betters a person s right to live it should be considered a
right of the people and not a privilege. This ultimately illustrates the idea that healthcare is right,
due to it being a sense of well being and security that if a person gets sick or contracts a horrific
disease, this person can seek help and maintain his right to life, liberty, and

ABSTRACT
Ben Bernanke was a key player in U.S. economic policy well before the Great Recession, and
during that time seems to have achieved almost mythical status. The prolonged economic crisis has
kept him front and center in the news, with regular appearances on Capitol Hill and increasingly
heated rhetoric from detractors. As Federal Reserve chairman, Bernanke maintains as he attempts
to steer the nation onto a steadier economic course. Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke is, by
all accounts, a man of formidable intelligence. He scored 1590 on his SATs, taught himself calculus
in high school, and graduated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the Great Depression, it should be remembered, the unemployment rate in the US peaked at
around 22%, and it averaged a staggering 16% in the 1930s. In the lesser depression that the US
economy is emerging from now, thanks to the radical and fearless monetary policy settings
delivered by Bernanke, the unemployment rate peaked at 10% and since the market and economy
crash started in 2008, the unemployment rate had averaged around 8%. On these facts alone,
Bernanke should deserve unquestioned praise.
Bernanke s comment that the Fed would maintain highly accommodative monetary policy for
the foreseeable future sparked the mood swing on Wall Street. As noted on above, this is
appropriate, but what the market may be missing is what highly accommodative policy actually
means, at least to the Federal Reserve. It is not unreasonable to think that holding interest rates
near zero for the next couple of years is accommodative . It most certainly is. Maintaining bond
purchases is also obviously accommodative policy, but there could be a subtlety in Bernanke s
likely approach. If in coming months interest rates are held at zero (which is as certain as anyone
can be on any policy setting), yet the Fed starts to scale back its $85 billion bond purchases a
month to $75 billion, then $50 billion and so on, there is still no question that policy is still
accommodative, but a little less than it was before.
This may be well understood in the bond market, where

Rukmani is a very strong woman. She has undergone so many struggles but yet, she doesn t lose
hope. The novel has different themes: hunger as threat to dignity, knowledge as power, and
importance of fertility. Hunger and poverty is a powerful enemy to someone. People will do
everything for fear of hunger, even sacrifice their dignity. Rukmani lost her sons because of hunger.
Her elder sons seek new lives in other land; another son was killed for stealing, leaving Rukmani
grieving. For fear of hunger her daughter turned to prostitution. She herself almost killed
someone for thinking the last piece of their rice was being taken. In the novel, hunger and
poverty breeds people who has no dignity. People with knowledge hold power. The tannery won
against the workers because they have more knowledge. For Rukmani, white men have power and
so she turned to Kenny. Kunthi uses her knowledge of Rukmani and Nathan s secrets to exercise
evil power. Puli s knowledge of the city helped Rukmani and Nathan to look for their son. The
commendable characters in the novel were the ones who apply their knowledge to good deeds.
Importance of fertility is shown throughout the novel. Not just the fertility of women but also the
fertility of the land. She sought the help of Kenny for fear of infertility and this caused Kunthi to
blackmail her. Ira s problems were also caused by her barrenness. She lost her husband for not being

The Dark Stories By Sylvia Plath
Do you ever wish you could take the worst moment of your life and experience it like it never
happened? In Belzhar by Meg Wolitzer that is exactly what happened to five teenagers. These
teens attended the Wooden Barn a school for the fragile. Casey, Sierra, Griffin, Marc, and Jam
were all chosen to be in an odd class, Special Topics English. Mrs. Quenell their teacher had
chosen the dark stories by Sylvia Plath the only author they were going to read the semester.
When the students finally began to use their journals they were given, they began to experience
this state of Belzhar. The students were whisked back to the time of their life where they had not
experienced their trauma. Each of these students went through something like Sylvia Plath that
differentiated them from normal teens but because of Belzhar they were healed emotionally.
Sierra s brother was missing, Jam s boyfriend had died, and Casey is paralyzed but they got
through it thanks to Belzhar. Sierra Stokes is from Washington, DC and loves her little brother
AndrГ©. One night he went to the store to buy and never returned. Sierra s family was
devastated and Sierra was constantly contacting the detective even three years later. When Sierra
went to Belzhar she experienced time with her brother. Worst of all no one really knew what she
was going through. In Sierra s final time in Belzhar she had to experience losing AndrГ© again
and she could not leave him, so she stayed in Belzhar. Sierra was found in what

Dennis Rader BTK Killer Essay
Dennis Rader, or the BTK Killer, was responsible for the murder of ten people between 1974 and
1991. He was known for writing letters to police after a murder that offered information that
nobody knew. Eventually the murders and letters stopped, then in 2004 Rader sent another letter to
police claiming responsibility for a murder that was not connected to him before. Thanks to
advancements in DNA technology police were able to collect evidence from underneath the victim
s fingernails. Rader soon then sent a computer disk to a TV station and police were able to analyze
the data from a document found on it and learned that the authors name was Dennis. There was also
a link to a Lutheran Church that Rader was a part of. After police did a search including Dennis and
Lutheran Church, they found that the church has a deacon named Dennis Rader. After police get a

Dennis Rader was known to write letters that were sent to police and news agencies about the
murders. These letters would include how the crime scene was set up, what the people were
tied up with, and how they were killed. Some of these letters and packages also had clues in
them in different forms. He did this because he was seeking the fame that other killers such as
Ted Bundy had received from the media. He sent one letter to a local news station that had
hidden words in it that spelled out D. Rader and 6220 , which was his street address. However,
the clues in his numerous letters would not give him away. Some of his clues were overlooked,
some could not be deciphered, and some did not make sense with the investigation. What did give
him away was a floppy disk that was sent to a local news agency. This document had data on it that
named the author and brought them to the Lutheran church that Rader was a part of. Computer

Descriptive Essay On Apple Picking
Apple Picking Today was going exceptionally well for me. My mom said we were going apple
picking. We get there and play for a while. After a while we decide to go on the tractor. We hop
onto the back of the wagon and go riding on the short trail. When we arrive, I see rows and rows
of trees with apples hanging off of the hands of their arms. It s time to go apple picking! I think
to myself excitedly. Everyone grabs their own little baggies and are told we can only pick four
five apples otherwise we d have hundreds of apples when we finish. I follow my mom through the
rows of trees labeled Granny SmithApples. It doesn t take me long to find some juicy looking
apples. Once I finish picking my apples, I lay them next to my mom and go find my cousins Abby
and Mia to play with.
We run through the series of trees until we tire ourselves out. After a while we head back to
where all of our aunts are. Let s get some family pictures. says my aunt Naomi. We all gather
around and take one big family picture and then separate pictures. Let s get a picture with all
three of you girls biting into the same apple. exclaims our mothers. We go pick a few large sized
apples and return in about thirty seconds. My aunts position us while my mom gets the camera
ready. I decide to take the first bite out of the apple. When Abby takes the next bite, we see that
there s no room for me. We discard the apple by giving it to my mom to eat. We grab a new apple
but I let Abby take the first

Taking a Closer Look at Phisics
Physics. Not something you really hear every day. It s not something you really want to hear
either, right? Why is it that when we hear the word physics, it s just a major turnoff. People may
even hear the word and just think get me out of here , even though they may not have the
slightest clue of what it s about. Some people do have a slight clue and think molecules or
gravity, atoms or Bohr, laws or life, and still may not quite grasp it, but at least have a slight clue.
Others, think wasted time and irrelevance, how it kicked their a** in both high school and college.
Then the people who really can t comprehend, think goofy white people. To all of this you could
say that people tend to dislike what they cannot understand. Physics. The branch of science
concerned with the nature and properties of matter and energy. Physics, is what you will be
informed of today.
As we ve already stated in the definition, physics is the natural science that involves the study of
matter and its motion through space and time. So first off, matter, the building block of the
universe, is any substance which has mass and occupies space. All physical objects are composed
of matter, in the form of atoms. Atoms are in turn made up of neutrons, protons, and electrons.
Matter also exists in four states: solid, liquid and gas, and plasma; though there are more yet to be
proven possible states. Also, all matter is capable of being converted to energy. You might have
heard of E = mc2, that would be

game that uses one 52 deck card and is played up to a max of 10 players per table. Players buy in a
certain amount of cash in exchange for chips and use them to play. Players are dealt two cards

There are a lot of tricks to maneuver when playing this game. Sometimes if a player has a losing
hand, he or she can still win by bluffing the other player. Bluffing is a bet made by a player in an
attempt to try and make other players fold their cards. Bluffing can be a risky move because you
are betting with no hand, and if a player has good cards and call your bet, you might lose.
Therefore, doing a bluff bet is all about the right timing. An added skill needed to bluff is being
able to read players body movements and their betting patterns. These are important skills to have
in order to know if the other player has a strong or weak

provide graduates with the knowledge for and entry level nursing position. Nurses that only have a

or at least have an undergraduate degree. One must have a completed master s degree or doctor
of nursing practice degree in neonatal nursing. This will take you two to three years after you
have your registered nursing degree. Neonatal nurses like registered nurses are required to do
clinical training during school. Neonatal nurses also have to do skill labs and intensive training.
Neonatal nurses need a lot of clinical experience, mentorships, and preceptor programs. Training
might take anywhere from six weeks to three month to complete depending on how much prior
work experience. Before one becomes a neonatal nurse you should work as an advanced practice
nurse (APRNs). APRNs can work as neonatal nurse practitioners (NNPs) and neonatal clinical
nurse specialists (CNSs). APRNs have specialized knowledge and may provide direct care with
patients. Neonatal nurses need to pass the NCLEX because they need to have a registered nursing
degree. Neonatal nurses can also get certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Nurses

Hence with higher gross income of households also means that Australians has higher disposable
income which allows them to spend more on dining outside. In real terms, spending on food has
increased 30 percent (over the past 20 years) while incomes have risen 36 percent, according to
the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry 2012 foodmap report. Thus, this
increases the bargaining power of buyers as Australians are able to spend more on food due to a

Engine 6 Analysis
Most, if not all, pieces of railroad machinery have had various changes made from their original
form while in service. Engine 6, a 36 gauge 8 18 D 74 mogul built in October of 1891 by the
Burnham, Williams Co. of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania as construction number 12288 for the
Surry, Sussex, and Southampton Railway/Surry Lumber Co. of Virginia and currently owned by
the Midwest Central Railroad, is no exception to this rule. Engine 6 is currently vital and has
been vital to the Midwest Central Railroad s operation since 1960, being used as one of the two

Looking For A Creative Project
Are you looking for a creative project that s fun, easy and fairly quick? Tie dying is a great
activity for the whole family! The wonderful thing about tie dye is that you can t really mess it up
and anyone can do it. Here are the things you ll need to gather before getting started:
Fabric to dye. You can dye t shirts, bandannas, shorts, socks, underwear...whatever you d like, as
long as your fabric is 100% cotton, rayon, or other natural fiber, otherwise the dye won t hold.
Inexpensive cotton t shirts are perfect for beginners. You should pre wash them to remove any
finishes on the cloth that might interfere with the dying process. Dye to color your fabric. The three
primary colors for tie dye are fuchsia, yellow and turquoise. Other colors can be achieved by
mixing two or three of these together, for example, fuchsia and yellow will give you orange. You
can buy individual supplies but if this is your first time dying, I recommend a tie dye kit. You can
get them in most stores that offer craft supplies or order them online. I ve used the Tulip Dye Kits
for birthday parties and the shirts turned out beautifully. My dyes of choice however, are Procion
MX dyes. You can order kits online through stores such as Dharma Trading Company. I do not
recommend using RIT dyes. I ve found them to be very messy and the colors run and fade
quickly. Soda ash to pre soak your shirts in. Some kits have it included. If not, you can find soda

Emotional Intelligence And Criminal Behavior
There has been a considerable number of emotional intelligence studies done on a variety of
disciplines such as psychology, sociology and criminology. For many decades, criminal behavior
has been studied by these disciplines. Recently, these studies have focus on the relationship of
criminal behavior, with intelligence and personality traits. There also exists a large number of
studies that evaluate the emotional intelligence of both, transgressors and non offenders. However,
a small amount of these studies explore the transgressor population. In the cases where the studies
consider felons as direct variables, the results have been inconsistent. Perhaps, two of the major
problems with these studies, resides in the low sample taken into consideration, as well as, the non
disparity of offences committed. The author of the article Emotional Intelligence and Criminal
Behavior assesses the connection between emotional intelligence (EI) and criminal behavior. This

Nuclear Fission Vs Nuclear Fusion
The term nuclear energy is pretty self explanatory as it refers to energy produced from the nucleus
of an atom. The bonds that hold atoms together are extremely powerful, and we can use this power
in two ways, nuclear fission and nuclear fusion.
Nuclear fission is the process commonly referred to as splitting the atom, a process first achieved
by a Kiwi, Ernest Rutherford in 1918, when he fired naturally occurring alpha particles into nitrogen
gas. The fission that nuclear power plants use to make electricity involves using neutrons (which
were first predicted to exist by Rutherford) to split a large atom into two smaller atoms, a process
that releases a large amount of energy. As we studied in nuclear and Atomic physics this year and
last year, Rutherford had great contributions to the discovery of Nuclear Power, as he was the first
person to split the atom, as well as the first person to imply that an atom has Positive, Negative as
well as Neutral particles.
Nuclear fusion is the opposite reaction where two smaller atoms are combined to make one larger
atom of a different element. Fusion is how the Sun ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

They had obtained blood samples from Karen s Mother, Sisters, Children, and Ex Husband. They

personally noticed such as, growing older. All seven kids were very young and naive when the

another huge theme would be teamwork. As kids, we thrive with others around us. They all had to

Bias In Health Care
The most important piece of information that I learned is that the description of bias in research
is, a deviation from the true results and there is almost no way to avoid it. Bias happens when
there is an underlying factor continuously deforms the new findings of a study (EVIDENCE
BASED PRACTICE: What is biasin health research?, 2009).
Even in a study done by incorporating as much randomness as possible, there is bound to be some
bias. Random bias would always be present, as human beings aren t omnipotent with the ability to
control everything. In a method, that is as much protected from bias as possible, like a triple blind

Comparison Of Rudyard Kipling
Rudyard Kipling was born to Alice MacDonald and John Lockwood Kipling on December 30,
1865 in Bombay, India. Most of his education took place in England where his parents were
from. Before getting into writing his own literature, Kipling was a sub editor at the CMG, The
Civl and Military Gazette. He worked for several years before beginning to write. Farther into
his career as a writer and poet, Kipling wrote the poem The White Man s Burden. In this poem,
he attempts to teach readers that you should not do what is right only for praise and glory, but
instead because it is the right thing to do. Kipling also criticizes the U.S. government for being
too timid to go to war. In the song DNA. by Kendrick Lamar, parts of the song criticize others for
not taking chances and for being too scared. Both Rudyard Kiplings The White Man s Burden and
Kendrick Lamar s DNA. criticize others for excessive timidness and their failure to take chances. In
The White Man s Burden, RudyardKipling attempts to teach readers the importance of doing
what is right even when there is lots of hate and no praise. In lines 19 and 20, Kipling mentions
that when countries go to war for the good of their people, they still receive lots of hate. The
blame of those ye better/ The hate of those ye guard (Kipling 19,20). This is saying that
governments are often loathed by countries whom they have bested in battle and also receive
hate from the very people they were trying to help. Along with this message, Kipling also
attempts to criticize governments for being too timid and fearful of war. In line 26, Kipling
writes a line that is a little humorous but also very deep. Have done with the childish days
(Kipling 26). Here, Kipling says the way the government is so fearful and timid is a childlike
quality. He believes that they need to be much stronger and brave if they want to stay in power.
Kendrick Lamar attempts to produce a similar message to listeners in his hit song, DNA. Both
Rudyard Kipling in The White Man s Burden, and Kendrick Lamar in DNA. criticize a similar
issue in society. In D.N.A, Kendrick Lamar hopes to motivate others to take more risks and get
over any fears they may have. Through this song, Lamar

Sources Of Ocean Pollution
Our oceans have been pristine for millions of years. Only recently have our oceans been affected
by human s presence on earth. Beach s that had once been filled with life are now covered in
garbage from many different countries. The garbage patch in the northern pacific ocean is a great
example to put the extent of this problem in perspective. This garbage patch, formed by circular
wind patterns called gyres, has been described by many as a floating island of trash. Some of the
main sources of ocean pollutionare oil, plastic and agricultural waste and it is estimated that 80%
of this pollution originates from land. As technology progresses worldwide, we must work
together to formulate a plan to clean up our oceans as well as prevent contaminates from reaching
our waterways in future years. It has been estimated that plastics and discarded fishing gear, such
as monofilament line and discarded nets, kill one million seabirds and 150,000 marine mammals
each year (Ambrose). Trade winds and gyres in the Atlantic and Pacific oceans can carry trash
thousands of miles. When the currents caused by these winds intersect with land, the garbage is
deposited on the shores of continents and many islands off the coast. Another major source of
marine pollutionis pollution via petroleum products and oil spills. An oil spill large enough can
completely destroy an environment for tens of thousands of marine animals. In the period from
2000 to 2008, an average of 24 tons (21.8 metric

The Pros And Cons Of Abolishment
Introduction
In recent years, the death penalty is still existing in everywhere although there is less number of
convicted offenders than the old time. Some people think that death penalty is the way to
constrain people to do not offend or violate the legislation while some have an argument that this
punishment should be abolished. In this essay, I will compare two articles. Why Japanese support
the death penalty? by Shanhe Jiang, Rebecca Pilot, and Toyoji Saito (2010)(article 1) and Does it
matter if the Death Penalty is Arbitrarily Administered ? by Stephen Nathanson (2009)(article2).
These two articles are very different. The former article is based on quantitative research and
explains why Japanese people take sides with the death penalty. However, the latter article is based
on qualitative research and describes capital punishment should be abolished. I propose to
summarize the main ideas of two articles, compare both in many aspects, and conclude in my own
opinion.
Summary
1. The purpose of the research
The first article, the main purpose of the authors is apparently on the topic of their article which is
to investigate the reason why Japanese participants support or oppose the death penalty. The second
article, the writer also shows the practice of the capital punishment. However, this article is related
to the abolishment. The aim of this article is to investigate the debates about the death penalty that
is eliminated due to the

theories to justify these questions.
Euthanasia
Euthanasia is the act of a physician or other third party ending a patient s life in response to severe
pain and suffering. Euthanasia can be classified into three types. They are voluntary euthanasia, non
voluntary euthanasia and involuntary euthanasia. Involuntary euthanasia is the action that takes the

Sea Oak Analysis
In Sea Oak, George Saunders composes a story that examines social classes by applying satire.
He uses the narrator s Aunt Bernie to teach a valuable lesson about life. The valuable lesson is
that one should appreciate what they have in life my making the most out of it. It is essential for
people to acknowledge what they have, on the grounds that one day it might be gone. In Sea Oak,
Saunders represents two Aunt Bernie s, a before life Aunt Bernie and an after life Aunt Bernie.
With the before life Aunt Bernie, she lives with her nephew, her niece Min, her daughter Jade,
and their babies. Although she experiences poverty, mistreatment, and also lives in an unsafe
neighborhood, she appreciates what she has. She experiences poverty all of her life, and
experiences mistreatment when she takes care of the grandfather; he leaves her with nothing
when he dies. Grandpa needed her to keep the house after Grandma died. Then he died and left
all his money to a woman that none of us had ever heard of. (Saunders, 95). Aunt Bernie was
mistreated because she acts a caretaker and it backfired on her. Aunt Bernie handles the situation
of the grandfather not leaving her money by not reacting, she remained not bitter. In addition to,
Aunt Bernie is appreciative of what life hands her when Saunders describes what she had
received for Christmas one year. When I say I am tired of being broke, she says that Grandpa
once gave her pencils for Christmas. She was so thrilled [that] she sat around sketching horses all
day on the back of used envelopes (Saunders, 95). As Saunders continues to build on the story of
Aunt Bernie s before life, readers want to know, can Aunt Bernie discover a plan in time enough to
remove her family from poverty and living at risk, or will it be too late?
In Fun Home: A Family Tragicomic, Alison Bechdel composes a graphic memoir to inform
readers about her journey of coming out as a lesbian to her parents. To add to this note, Bechdel

to males. She builds the story around the tragic event of her father s mysterious death.

Is Lady Macbeth To Blame
Have you ever been tempted to do something that you knew was morally wrong. This happens a
lot in life, but some cases are more serious than others. Sometimes, the people who a person loves
love and trust the most could tempt a person to do terrible things. Macbeth , written by William
Shakespeare, is a play that recognizes that this is possible, even to people who were a good
hearted person, in this case Macbeth. The character who is the most responsible for the downfall of
Macbeth is Lady Macbeth because she constantly taunted and tempted Macbeth to murder King
Duncan. Many people believe that Lady Macbeth was tricked by the Devil to tempt Macbeth to
murder Duncan, and they then accuse of the witches of being the cause but that is not the case.

When Macbeth was trying to stop things from going too far Lady Macbeth decides to taunt him.
But screw your courage to the sticking place [a]nd we ll not fail (1.7.70 71). During this
discussion Lady Macbeth basically calls Macbeth a coward and that if he follows her plan they
will succeed. That was a major reason for Macbeth actually deciding to murder action. Also Lady
Macbeth tries to make him seem like a traitor when he backs out of the plan, which is the starting
point for Macbeth s downfall. William Shakespeare tries to show readers that even though Macbeth
was evil as king, he is not entirely at fault for becoming filled with greed and anger. Even though
people control their own actions they can be tempted to do wrong things due to peer pressure.
Although some can just blame Macbeth, we need to remind ourselves that Macbeth wasn t going to
kill Duncan, until Lady Macbeth persuaded him to. Even if it was mostly Macbeth s fault for not
controlling his actions, Macbeth reminds us that when more than one person are involved with an

Difference Between Supernatural And Supernatural
In today s production of films, ghosts and paranormal beings are a popular topic. However, even
with today s modern science, there is no legitimate proof of ghosts or spirits. When unexplainable
things happen when no one else is around, the idea of a paranormal being might seem rational.
Despite the speculation of the phenomenon, what exactly is paranormal activity and how do
residual areas become haunted by these spirits? The terms supernatural and paranormal are often
confused. Supernatural is relating more to faith or something we cannot completely comprehend or
prove with our sciences. Where as paranormal is something that cannot be explained with current
knowledge and technology, but most likely has a scientific reason for why it s happening. (Kelly)
The difference between both supernatural and paranormal has to do with being able to explain and
understand the paranormal with whatever available science. Religion might often be pushed into
the category for supernatural, as with the science available, we cannot fully explain ideologies of
religion. With the paranormal, mediocre equipment is used to supposedly make contact with the
supernatural. It s believed that the supernatural will eventually be able to be explained with
advanced science. There have been many reports of residual areas all around Kansas that have been
determined as either haunted or rich with paranormal activity. A famous example is the Topeka
State Hospital, which was an asylum that was in

subtleties in COUN 506. During this course I worked on acquiring basic counseling and
communication skills, have an awareness of multicultural differences, awareness of professional
identity and have a basic understanding of the dynamics in psychotherapy. Each week I was asked
to hold counseling sessions with my peers and other week we taped our counseling session for
review and transcription. During these tapings I was asked to demonstrate communication and
counseling skills learned in this course. I was also expected to transcribe five minutes of taping as
well as submit a reflection paper with my transcription and tape. In this paper, I will discuss some
of the things I learned during this counseling and communications class. My experience coming
into this class, some of the skills I learned, and a few of the things I found helpful.
Experience
Coming into this counseling course I had little practice in the counseling role with adults. I was
nervous and uncomfortable coming into this class. Knowing that I was to be analyzed and taped
during counseling sessions was the source of my nervousness and discomfort. My counseling
skills were minimal and I was conscious of the fact that I was a complete novice in the counseling
role. I needed to learn basic therapeutic factors (Young, 2013) and gain practice in order to feel

Censorship
This paper will cover censorship in film with its main focus in the United States. It will cover the
progress of film censorship and how it has varied throughout the country as well as state to state.
The reader will discover how film censorship has changed with society and can be a resemblance
of society at a certain point in time. Important cases and lawsuits will be covered as well, enabling
the reader to understand why and how certain laws were created and questioned.
The first acknowledgment of regulating film arrived in 1896 after Thomas Edison s landmark
film, The Kiss. Critics of this film saw it as a threat to morality, thus raising questions on what
should or should not be shown to the public. Shortly after concern over The Kiss, the first statute
in movie censorship was enacted. The State of Maine implemented the statute in order to prevent
the exhibition prizefight of the 1897 heavyweight championship between James Corbett and Bob
Fitzsimmons. This opened the door for other organizations and states to regulate on their own
terms. Although most scholars regard the 1907 ordinance of the City of Chicago as the first act of
censorship in the United States, but as state above, the prevention of prizefighting in Maine is now
regarded as the first act of censorship. Nevertheless, the 1907 ordinance of the City of Chicago
was groundbreaking for film censorship. This ordinance made it illegal to show any

Confucianism
Filial Piety in Chinese Religion
Filial piety was an integral part of Chinese culture and therefore was embraced by three of China s
main religions: Confucianism, Buddhism, and Daoism. Among the three, Confucianism, with its
well documented social hierarchy, supported the ideals of filial piety the most. Buddhism and
Daoism also supported filial piety in some of their texts, but had monastic systems that prevented
monks and nuns from being filial children.
The term filial piety refers to the extreme respect that Chinese children are supposed to show their
parents. It involves many different things including taking care of the parents, burying them
properly after death, bringing honor to the family, and having a male heir to carry ... Show more

These things were not all that was required of a filial child. Rather, they were an just a few rules
that Confucius disciples felt were important enough to be included in the Analects.
The concept of filial piety was exhibited in other Confucian texts as well, such as the Book of
Rewards and Punishments. Although this text was technically a popular religious text, rather
than a Confucian one, it highlighted many Confucian ideals, such as filial piety. It describes
good, virtuous people seeking immortality as those who exhibit loyalty to their ruler, filial piety
to their parents, true friendship to their older brothers (143). Contrarily, those who are evil insult
their ruler and their parents behind their backs (143). According to this text, it is impossible to
be a good, virtuous person without showing respect for one s parents. The inclusion of filial
piety in this popular religious work also helps to show how widespread the belief in filial piety
was in China. Although it received a great deal of support and promotion from Confucianism, filial
piety was not limited to Confucians it was a widespread part of Chinese culture.
Filial piety is also mentioned in Buddhist texts. In the Mangalasutta, it is said that the love of the
parents can never be compensated even if one were to carry one s parents on the shoulder without
putting them down for a hundred or a

Universal Healthcare And The United States Essay
Universal Healthcare in The United States There are three basic goals for a National Health
Care System; 1) keeping people healthy, 2) treating the sick and 30 protecting families against
financial ruin from medical bills , (Physicians for a National Health Program, 2016). No truer
statement could there possibly be written or proclaimed as there is a crisis in healthcare costs
across the United States. United States, one of the most developed western country, yet we
suffer from higher infant mortality rates, have shorter life spans and are affected by more
chronic disease and or illness than our contemporaries all while spending the most for insurance
per capita and less annual doctor visits with less physicians, (OECD Health Data 2015). There is
a question to be answered, why , why are we trailing our contemporaries and more important than
that is, is our National Health Care system really working for us? The year 2010 was the
beginning of change in the United States where we transitioned from primarily private insurance
and welfare to a universal healthcare model, under President Obama with the signing into Law of
the Affordable Health Care Act March of 2010. The purpose of the Affordable health care act is to
ensure that all Americans have access to affordable healthcare, however in 2016 we are still
questioning we ve been successful based on funding, government sponsored healthcare programs,
effects on the current HCO, elderly, military and accessibility.

Grassroots Organizations In The 1960s
At the end of the 50s, so called grassroots organizations1 were founded by proponents of the
cultural movements expressed by rock bands and musical genres, such as jazz, beat, skiffle. These
organizations existed already for many years, but they were emerging enormously during the 60s
and 70s. For instance a very fertile ground for grassroots organizations ( BГјrgerinitiative ) offered
West Germany, where surveys concluded that they had more members than political parties.
Because music was the form of protest, which was the most dependent on production and
distribution of the cultural industry s infrastructure, politically orientated sector of music (for
example grassroots organizations) regularly aimed for alternative collaboration with record
companies, but... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is believed to be the cradle of British pop, since the British Beat music scene explored right

world. Many legendary musicians commence their very beginning of the career in Cavern
Club, but after the artists gained fame, the club could not afford their expensive costs. The place
has welcomed absolutely worldwide recognized artists. Regarding Jazz, Blues and Skiffle,
mentioned should be Jazz Band Merseysippi, Big Bill Broonzy, Ringo Starr, The Quarry Men
Skiffle Group, Ronnie Scott, Paul McCartney, Mr Acker Bilk s Paramount Jazz Band, Lonnie
Donegan, Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee. As for Pop rock music, the stage was rocked by
The Rolling Stones, The Hollies, Queen, The Yardbirds, John Elton, The Kinks, John Lee
Hooker. From recent stars are for example Travis, Oasis, Adele, Jessie J, The Arctic Monkeys,
The Wanted etc. Despite a serious danger of downfall in 1973, it was reopened 11 years later at a
new place, reconstructed and restored perfectly in the smallest details as at the old location.

Essay On Pan-Sharpening Techniques
The pan sharpening technique, which aims at fusing a low resolution multispectral (LRM) image
and a high resolution panchromatic (HRP) image in order to produce a high resolution
multispectral (HRM) image, has become an effective pre processing technique in many remote
sensing applications [1]. Many remote sensing applications such as land cover classification, map
updating, reconnaissance, etc. demands images with both high spectral and high spatial resolution
however most remote sensing satellites such as QuickBird, IKONOS, and WorldView 2 are not
able to generate high spectral and high spatial resolution images directly due to lack of bandwidth
and limited on board storage. The pan sharpened multispectral image comprises of high... Show

Then, the high frequency component extracted from the HRP image is merged into the LRM
bands. The fused image obtained through this category preserves spectral information well.
However, some spatial distortions may occur, such as blurring. In general, this category method
offers a reliable framework for further exploration, and the key is to extract sufficient spatial
details from the HRP image with preserving the spectral information in LRM image
simultaneously. In the proposed fusion framework, IHS transform is used to separate intensity
component from MS images firstly. Then, SFIM and wavelet transform are applied to the
intensity component of MS images and the Pan image to build the multi scale representations
which include the low and high frequency sub images in different scales, While SFIM can
effectively preserve images spectral properties. Since the low and high frequency sub images
obtained from wavelet decomposition have different information of images, we process low and
high frequency sub images with different strategies. At last, the inverse wavelet transform (IWT)
and inverse IHS transform are applied to perform the fusion tasks. The visual and statistical
analysis on the experimental results for Worldview 2 images shows the effectiveness of our
proposed method. The remainder of this paper is organized as follows. Section II

Factors Of White Collar Crimes
The inner factors of white collar crimes
In the modern society, the authority of police becomes more powerful and there are a lot of new
laws issued to restrict personal behaviors, bringing a more peaceful community to the public.
Indeed, the incidences of horrible crimes such as robbery, kidnapping and murder decrease,
partially because of the better living condition. However, some other types of crimes emerge
recently. These new crimes are endangering the fairness and operation of the society. White collar
crime is a new type crime which is less horrible than crimes such as robbery, but it is a serious
threat to ethical standards of the society and people s life. To prevent the occurrence of white
collar crime, it is necessary to know what factors may cause people to commit such crimes.
Moreover, many white collar criminals have stable jobs and satisfactory living conditions. The
motivations of these criminals may be related to their personalities. It is important to discover inner
factors which influence people s decisions in white collar crimes.
Naso, Ronald C. When Money and Morality Collide: White Collar Crime and the Paradox of
Integrity. Psychoanalytic Psychology, vol. 29, no. 2, Apr. 2012, pp. 241 254.
Psychoanalytic Psychology is a famous academic journal which covers researches in
psychoanalysis. This article which was published online in July, 2011, explains how conscious

Good And Evil In Lord Of The Flies Research Paper
It is an important life question that everyone has asked throughout humanity: are human born
good or evil? It has been repeatedly asked and for years people have debated whether we have a
good nature or an evil one. In my opinion, I believe human nature causes people to be bad and
require the need to be controlled. This question can be seen in William Golding s Lord of the Flies
and it can be speculated that Golding viewed human nature as an evilone. Throughout the book and
humanity, there are several clues that can lead us to the answer. It is evident in every part of the
world; there is evil. From the six million Jews that have been executed in World War II, to the
thousands of African people used as slaves, and to every schoolyard bully.... Show more content on

In our society, people at a young age are taught and forced to be good to one another. As you can
see babies and younger children are self centered and misbehave frequently. Kids often believe
things must go their way and can be cruel bullies to one another. During kindergarten and early
years of elementary school, children can be seen fighting for toys. However, our teachers and
parents taught us that if we misbehave, we will be punished. If we were naturally born good,
wouldn t we be able to act good naturally? In Lord of the flies, the boys arrived on the island well
behaved and stated they will survive because they are English. However, their set of rules were
not obeyed and slowly the boys stopped following the laws of civilization. The boys ranged from
ages 5 to 12 years old, thus the younger children were easily capable of becoming savage as they
were not taught how to be courteous. As well, the younger boys did not know what they were
doing was wrong. The children were exposed to violent manners from the older boys and quickly
developed to behave like them. As evident in the final scene of Lord of the Flies, one of the littlun
had forgotten their name because they were not being identify as anything but littlun . For this
reason, without the exposure of discipline on people who misbehave, it is easy for vulnerable
children, like the littluns, to potentially become

The Affect Of The Declaratory Act On The Ohio River Valley
The French and British were always enemies and the British wanted a land called the Ohio River
Valley. However, the french also wanted this land. The French and British ended up going to
war and the British won. The Native Americans that lived in the Ohio River Valley were not
thrilled and to prevent war with the Native Americans the king created the proclamation of 1763.
This set an imaginary line between the British and the Ohio River Valley. This was intended to
keep the British out of the Ohio River Valley so the American Indians and british wouldn t have
to go to war. After the war the British were in debt. In order to pay of this debt the king created the
stamp act. This put a tax on everyday items like newspapers, marriage licenses,... Show more

Colonists had to provide fuel, candles, and transportation for the troops. The british treasury was
drained from the war and the soldiers had nowhere to go. The british soldiers believed that it was
expected since they protected the colonists. However, the colonist we not happy. The
declaratory act was an act that made it so any law can be passed without the colonists say.
However, the colonist didn t notice because the stamp act had just been repealed and they were
too busy celebrating. The declaratory act would not have an immediate affect on the colonist
The townshend acts added tax to everyday items like paint, lead, paper, and tea before the
colonist bought the items. This made it look like they weren t paying the tax. However, the
colonists noticed this trick and in result ended up smuggling and boycotting. On March 5,1770 a
bunch of colonists were throwing snowballs and ice at soldiers. The situation took a deadly turn
and 5 people were killed. One was a free black man named Crispus Attucks. Paul revere created a
drawing making the British soldiers look bad and spread it throughout the colonies. This created
propaganda and put many people against the

Positive Characteristics Of Baseball
The four seasons of the year come with many different memories or activities specific to them.
With fall comes the start of school, cooler weather, football games, and changing colors on the
trees. Winter comes with slippery roads, ice hockey, and hot chocolate while summer is a sign of
freedom with rolled down windows and warm summer nights. Spring includes a multitude of sports
and the sloshy winter signs slowly coming to a stop. Seasons have different meanings and
recollections depending on the person you speak to.
Baseball is a sport that can be played from the time you are young until you are older. The focus of
the game is to hit the ball far enough that you can run the bases. Once you get all the way around,
your team scores a point. The team who scores the most runs, or points, wins the game. The teams
can be made up of a number of players, but only certain ones are able to actually hit the ball.
For Ethan Slinger, spring means one thing to him: baseball season. He said, It s the time of the
year where you get to grab your cleats and play a game you love with not just your team mates
but also your family . Although athletes are sometimes called air heads or jocks this is not the
case for Ethan. He displays many good qualities that he learned from the sport of baseball. Some of
those include: responsibility, leadership, approachability, and the importance of a positive attitude
on and off the field. These introduced the option of becoming a team captain on his

White House Security Breach
The White House Security breach case could use the Excellence theory model 2 and model 4, the
public information model and the two way symmetric model in order to communicate their
response to the general public. I chose this theory for the reasons as explained below:
1.According to Fearn Banks (2011), A public makes an issue when it perceives that a problem is
brewing or already exists (p. 23). The White House Security breach implies failure on the part of the
Department of Homeland Security and public may perceive this as alarming if not communicated
effectively. Therefore, to prevent the possible damage to trust in the public for the Department of
Homeland Security it is essential to use the crisis theory of two way symmetrical program. In
addition, the excellence theory would provide the White House management tactics and strategies
to assess the intensity of the incident.
2. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The public relations at the White House are key segment for developing a dialogue not only
between the public and government, but also internally. The segmentation program of the
excellence theory would help crisis communicators to break down the large publics to smaller
subpublics, which may include press, media, active publics, social media, the White House
employees etc. The crisis communication team would then release accurate information about the
breach to these segments in the form of press release, articles or newspapers (Fearn Banks, 2011).
3.In addition, the White House is the official and residential place of the President of the US and
has public access. Public relations as per the excellence theory identify the key stakeholders and
their ranks of importance. Therefore, the security breach crisis would be communicated to the
people in order of importance (Fearn Banks,

  • 3. Federal Reserve System Essay money and banking| Federal Reserve System| FIN 402 Module 2 Case| | Derrick Smith| 7/23/2013| | ABSTRACT Ben Bernanke was a key player in U.S. economic policy well before the Great Recession, and during that time seems to have achieved almost mythical status. The prolonged economic crisis has kept him front and center in the news, with regular appearances on Capitol Hill and increasingly heated rhetoric from detractors. As Federal Reserve chairman, Bernanke maintains as he attempts to steer the nation onto a steadier economic course. Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke is, by all accounts, a man of formidable intelligence. He scored 1590 on his SATs, taught himself calculus in high school, and graduated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... During the Great Depression, it should be remembered, the unemployment rate in the US peaked at around 22%, and it averaged a staggering 16% in the 1930s. In the lesser depression that the US economy is emerging from now, thanks to the radical and fearless monetary policy settings delivered by Bernanke, the unemployment rate peaked at 10% and since the market and economy crash started in 2008, the unemployment rate had averaged around 8%. On these facts alone, Bernanke should deserve unquestioned praise. Bernanke s comment that the Fed would maintain highly accommodative monetary policy for the foreseeable future sparked the mood swing on Wall Street. As noted on above, this is appropriate, but what the market may be missing is what highly accommodative policy actually means, at least to the Federal Reserve. It is not unreasonable to think that holding interest rates near zero for the next couple of years is accommodative . It most certainly is. Maintaining bond purchases is also obviously accommodative policy, but there could be a subtlety in Bernanke s likely approach. If in coming months interest rates are held at zero (which is as certain as anyone can be on any policy setting), yet the Fed starts to scale back its $85 billion bond purchases a month to $75 billion, then $50 billion and so on, there is still no question that policy is still accommodative, but a little less than it was before. This may be well understood in the bond market, where ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Why is it that when we hear the word physics, it s just a major turnoff. People may even hear the word and just think get me out of here , even though they may not have the slightest clue of what it s about. Some people do have a slight clue and think molecules or gravity, atoms or Bohr, laws or life, and still may not quite grasp it, but at least have a slight clue. Others, think wasted time and irrelevance, how it kicked their a** in both high school and college. Then the people who really can t comprehend, think goofy white people. To all of this you could say that people tend to dislike what they cannot understand. Physics. The branch of science concerned with the nature and properties of matter and energy. Physics, is what you will be informed of today. As we ve already stated in the definition, physics is the natural science that involves the study of matter and its motion through space and time. Atoms are in turn made up of neutrons, protons, and electrons. Matter also exists in four states: solid, liquid and gas, and plasma; though there are more yet to be proven possible states. In real terms, spending on food has increased 30 percent (over the past 20 years) while incomes have risen 36 percent, according to the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry 2012 foodmap report. Thus, this increases the bargaining power of buyers as Australians are able to spend more on food due to a higher gross household income. A restaurant is characterized by their food standards and service standards. The way how food is cooked and its taste differs from restaurant to restaurant. The key to success for restaurants is by differentiation from other restaurants. The wonderful thing about tie dye is that you can t really mess it up and anyone can do it. Here are the things you ll need to gather before getting started: Fabric to dye. You can dye t shirts, bandannas, shorts, socks, underwear...whatever you d like, as long as your fabric is 100% cotton, rayon, or other natural fiber, otherwise the dye won t hold. Inexpensive cotton t shirts are perfect for beginners. You should pre wash them to remove any finishes on the cloth that might interfere with the dying process. Dye to color your fabric. The three primary colors for tie dye are fuchsia, yellow and turquoise. Other colors can be achieved by mixing two or three of these together, for example, fuchsia and yellow will give you orange. You can buy individual supplies but if this is your first time dying, I recommend a tie dye kit. You can get them in most stores that offer craft supplies or order them online. I ve used the Tulip Dye Kits for birthday parties and the shirts turned out beautifully. My dyes of choice however, are Procion MX dyes. You can order kits online through stores such as Dharma Trading Company. I do not recommend using RIT dyes. I ve found them to be very messy and the colors run and fade quickly. Emotional Intelligence And Criminal Behavior There has been a considerable number of emotional intelligence studies done on a variety of disciplines such as psychology, sociology and criminology. For many decades, criminal behavior has been studied by these disciplines. Recently, these studies have focus on the relationship of criminal behavior, with intelligence and personality traits. There also exists a large number of studies that evaluate the emotional intelligence of both, transgressors and non offenders. However, a small amount of these studies explore the transgressor population. In the cases where the studies consider felons as direct variables, the results have been inconsistent. Perhaps, two of the major problems with these studies, resides in the low sample taken into consideration, as well as, the non disparity of offences committed. • 18. Nuclear Fission Vs Nuclear Fusion The term nuclear energy is pretty self explanatory as it refers to energy produced from the nucleus of an atom. The bonds that hold atoms together are extremely powerful, and we can use this power in two ways, nuclear fission and nuclear fusion. Nuclear fission is the process commonly referred to as splitting the atom, a process first achieved by a Kiwi, Ernest Rutherford in 1918, when he fired naturally occurring alpha particles into nitrogen gas. The fission that nuclear power plants use to make electricity involves using neutrons (which were first predicted to exist by Rutherford) to split a large atom into two smaller atoms, a process that releases a large amount of energy. As we studied in nuclear and Atomic physics this year and last year, Rutherford had great contributions to the discovery of Nuclear Power, as he was the first person to split the atom, as well as the first person to imply that an atom has Positive, Negative as well as Neutral particles. Nuclear fusion is the opposite reaction where two smaller atoms are combined to make one larger atom of a different element. Fusion is how the Sun ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Most of his education took place in England where his parents were from. Before getting into writing his own literature, Kipling was a sub editor at the CMG, The Civl and Military Gazette. He worked for several years before beginning to write. Farther into his career as a writer and poet, Kipling wrote the poem The White Man s Burden. In this poem, he attempts to teach readers that you should not do what is right only for praise and glory, but instead because it is the right thing to do. Kipling also criticizes the U.S. government for being too timid to go to war. In the song DNA. by Kendrick Lamar, parts of the song criticize others for not taking chances and for being too scared. Both Rudyard Kiplings The White Man s Burden and Kendrick Lamar s DNA. criticize others for excessive timidness and their failure to take chances. In The White Man s Burden, RudyardKipling attempts to teach readers the importance of doing what is right even when there is lots of hate and no praise. In lines 19 and 20, Kipling mentions that when countries go to war for the good of their people, they still receive lots of hate. The blame of those ye better/ The hate of those ye guard (Kipling 19,20). This is saying that governments are often loathed by countries whom they have bested in battle and also receive hate from the very people they were trying to help. Along with this message, Kipling also attempts to criticize governments for being too timid and fearful of war. In line 26, Kipling writes a line that is a little humorous but also very deep. Have done with the childish days (Kipling 26). Here, Kipling says the way the government is so fearful and timid is a childlike quality. He believes that they need to be much stronger and brave if they want to stay in power. Kendrick Lamar attempts to produce a similar message to listeners in his hit song, DNA. • 29. Sources Of Ocean Pollution Our oceans have been pristine for millions of years. Only recently have our oceans been affected by human s presence on earth. Beach s that had once been filled with life are now covered in garbage from many different countries. The garbage patch in the northern pacific ocean is a great example to put the extent of this problem in perspective. This garbage patch, formed by circular wind patterns called gyres, has been described by many as a floating island of trash. Some of the main sources of ocean pollutionare oil, plastic and agricultural waste and it is estimated that 80% of this pollution originates from land. As technology progresses worldwide, we must work together to formulate a plan to clean up our oceans as well as prevent contaminates from reaching our waterways in future years. It has been estimated that plastics and discarded fishing gear, such as monofilament line and discarded nets, kill one million seabirds and 150,000 marine mammals each year (Ambrose). Trade winds and gyres in the Atlantic and Pacific oceans can carry trash thousands of miles. When the currents caused by these winds intersect with land, the garbage is deposited on the shores of continents and many islands off the coast. Another major source of marine pollutionis pollution via petroleum products and oil spills. An oil spill large enough can completely destroy an environment for tens of thousands of marine animals. The valuable lesson is that one should appreciate what they have in life my making the most out of it. However, even with today s modern science, there is no legitimate proof of ghosts or spirits. When unexplainable things happen when no one else is around, the idea of a paranormal being might seem rational. Despite the speculation of the phenomenon, what exactly is paranormal activity and how do residual areas become haunted by these spirits? The terms supernatural and paranormal are often confused. Supernatural is relating more to faith or something we cannot completely comprehend or prove with our sciences. Where as paranormal is something that cannot be explained with current knowledge and technology, but most likely has a scientific reason for why it s happening. • 39. What I Learned During This Counseling And Communication... Communication and dialogue can be challenging. I learned a lot about communication and it s subtleties in COUN 506. During this course I worked on acquiring basic counseling and communication skills, have an awareness of multicultural differences, awareness of professional identity and have a basic understanding of the dynamics in psychotherapy. Each week I was asked to hold counseling sessions with my peers and other week we taped our counseling session for review and transcription. During these tapings I was asked to demonstrate communication and counseling skills learned in this course. I was also expected to transcribe five minutes of taping as well as submit a reflection paper with my transcription and tape. In this paper, I will discuss some of the things I learned during this counseling and communications class. My experience coming into this class, some of the skills I learned, and a few of the things I found helpful. Experience Coming into this counseling course I had little practice in the counseling role with adults. I was nervous and uncomfortable coming into this class. Knowing that I was to be analyzed and taped during counseling sessions was the source of my nervousness and discomfort. My counseling skills were minimal and I was conscious of the fact that I was a complete novice in the counseling role. I needed to learn basic therapeutic factors (Young, 2013) and gain practice in order to feel comfortable in my counseling skills with adults. Furthermore, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 42. Censorship Of The United States Jeffrey Corpstein English 270 Research paper Censorship This paper will cover censorship in film with its main focus in the United States. It will cover the progress of film censorship and how it has varied throughout the country as well as state to state. The reader will discover how film censorship has changed with society and can be a resemblance of society at a certain point in time. Important cases and lawsuits will be covered as well, enabling the reader to understand why and how certain laws were created and questioned. The first acknowledgment of regulating film arrived in 1896 after Thomas Edison s landmark film, The Kiss. Critics of this film saw it as a threat to morality, thus raising questions on what should or should not be shown to the public. Shortly after concern over The Kiss, the first statute in movie censorship was enacted. The State of Maine implemented the statute in order to prevent the exhibition prizefight of the 1897 heavyweight championship between James Corbett and Bob Fitzsimmons. This opened the door for other organizations and states to regulate on their own terms. Although most scholars regard the 1907 ordinance of the City of Chicago as the first act of censorship in the United States, but as state above, the prevention of prizefighting in Maine is now regarded as the first act of censorship. Nevertheless, the 1907 ordinance of the City of Chicago was groundbreaking for film censorship. This ordinance made it illegal to show any ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Confucianism Filial Piety in Chinese Religion Filial piety was an integral part of Chinese culture and therefore was embraced by three of China s main religions: Confucianism, Buddhism, and Daoism. Among the three, Confucianism, with its well documented social hierarchy, supported the ideals of filial piety the most. Buddhism and Daoism also supported filial piety in some of their texts, but had monastic systems that prevented monks and nuns from being filial children. The term filial piety refers to the extreme respect that Chinese children are supposed to show their parents. It involves many different things including taking care of the parents, burying them properly after death, bringing honor to the family, and having a male heir to carry ... Rather, they were an just a few rules that Confucius disciples felt were important enough to be included in the Analects. The concept of filial piety was exhibited in other Confucian texts as well, such as the Book of Rewards and Punishments. Although this text was technically a popular religious text, rather than a Confucian one, it highlighted many Confucian ideals, such as filial piety. It describes good, virtuous people seeking immortality as those who exhibit loyalty to their ruler, filial piety to their parents, true friendship to their older brothers (143). Contrarily, those who are evil insult their ruler and their parents behind their backs (143). According to this text, it is impossible to be a good, virtuous person without showing respect for one s parents. The inclusion of filial piety in this popular religious work also helps to show how widespread the belief in filial piety was in China. Although it received a great deal of support and promotion from Confucianism, filial piety was not limited to Confucians it was a widespread part of Chinese culture. Filial piety is also mentioned in Buddhist texts. In the Mangalasutta, it is said that the love of the parents can never be compensated even if one were to carry one s parents on the shoulder without putting them down for a hundred or a ... Universal Healthcare And The United States Essay Universal Healthcare in The United States There are three basic goals for a National Health Care System; 1) keeping people healthy, 2) treating the sick and 30 protecting families against financial ruin from medical bills , (Physicians for a National Health Program, 2016). No truer statement could there possibly be written or proclaimed as there is a crisis in healthcare costs across the United States. United States, one of the most developed western country, yet we suffer from higher infant mortality rates, have shorter life spans and are affected by more chronic disease and or illness than our contemporaries all while spending the most for insurance per capita and less annual doctor visits with less physicians, (OECD Health Data 2015). There is a question to be answered, why , why are we trailing our contemporaries and more important than that is, is our National Health Care system really working for us? The year 2010 was the beginning of change in the United States where we transitioned from primarily private insurance and welfare to a universal healthcare model, under President Obama with the signing into Law of the Affordable Health Care Act March of 2010. The purpose of the Affordable health care act is to ensure that all Americans have access to affordable healthcare, however in 2016 we are still questioning we ve been successful based on funding, government sponsored healthcare programs, effects on the current HCO, elderly, military and accessibility. ... Essay On Pan-Sharpening Techniques The pan sharpening technique, which aims at fusing a low resolution multispectral (LRM) image and a high resolution panchromatic (HRP) image in order to produce a high resolution multispectral (HRM) image, has become an effective pre processing technique in many remote sensing applications [1]. Many remote sensing applications such as land cover classification, map updating, reconnaissance, etc. demands images with both high spectral and high spatial resolution however most remote sensing satellites such as QuickBird, IKONOS, and WorldView 2 are not able to generate high spectral and high spatial resolution images directly due to lack of bandwidth and limited on board storage. The pan sharpened multispectral image comprises of high... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Then, the high frequency component extracted from the HRP image is merged into the LRM bands. The fused image obtained through this category preserves spectral information well. However, some spatial distortions may occur, such as blurring. In general, this category method offers a reliable framework for further exploration, and the key is to extract sufficient spatial details from the HRP image with preserving the spectral information in LRM image simultaneously. In the proposed fusion framework, IHS transform is used to separate intensity component from MS images firstly. Then, SFIM and wavelet transform are applied to the intensity component of MS images and the Pan image to build the multi scale representations which include the low and high frequency sub images in different scales, While SFIM can effectively preserve images spectral properties. Since the low and high frequency sub images obtained from wavelet decomposition have different information of images, we process low and high frequency sub images with different strategies. At last, the inverse wavelet transform (IWT) and inverse IHS transform are applied to perform the fusion tasks. The visual and statistical analysis on the experimental results for Worldview 2 images shows the effectiveness of our proposed method. The remainder of this paper is organized as follows. • 48. Factors Of White Collar Crimes The inner factors of white collar crimes In the modern society, the authority of police becomes more powerful and there are a lot of new laws issued to restrict personal behaviors, bringing a more peaceful community to the public. Indeed, the incidences of horrible crimes such as robbery, kidnapping and murder decrease, partially because of the better living condition. However, some other types of crimes emerge recently. These new crimes are endangering the fairness and operation of the society. White collar crime is a new type crime which is less horrible than crimes such as robbery, but it is a serious threat to ethical standards of the society and people s life. To prevent the occurrence of white collar crime, it is necessary to know what factors may cause people to commit such crimes. Moreover, many white collar criminals have stable jobs and satisfactory living conditions. The motivations of these criminals may be related to their personalities. It is important to discover inner factors which influence people s decisions in white collar crimes. Naso, Ronald C. When Money and Morality Collide: White Collar Crime and the Paradox of Integrity. • 49. Good And Evil In Lord Of The Flies Research Paper It is an important life question that everyone has asked throughout humanity: are human born good or evil? It has been repeatedly asked and for years people have debated whether we have a good nature or an evil one. In my opinion, I believe human nature causes people to be bad and require the need to be controlled. This question can be seen in William Golding s Lord of the Flies and it can be speculated that Golding viewed human nature as an evilone. Throughout the book and humanity, there are several clues that can lead us to the answer. It is evident in every part of the world; there is evil. From the six million Jews that have been executed in World War II, to the thousands of African people used as slaves, and to every schoolyard bully.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, our teachers and parents taught us that if we misbehave, we will be punished. If we were naturally born good, wouldn t we be able to act good naturally? In Lord of the flies, the boys arrived on the island well behaved and stated they will survive because they are English. However, their set of rules were not obeyed and slowly the boys stopped following the laws of civilization. The boys ranged from ages 5 to 12 years old, thus the younger children were easily capable of becoming savage as they were not taught how to be courteous. As well, the younger boys did not know what they were doing was wrong. The children were exposed to violent manners from the older boys and quickly developed to behave like them. • 52. White House Security Breach The White House Security breach case could use the Excellence theory model 2 and model 4, the public information model and the two way symmetric model in order to communicate their response to the general public. I chose this theory for the reasons as explained below: 1.According to Fearn Banks (2011), A public makes an issue when it perceives that a problem is brewing or already exists (p. 23). The White House Security breach implies failure on the part of the Department of Homeland Security and public may perceive this as alarming if not communicated effectively. Therefore, to prevent the possible damage to trust in the public for the Department of Homeland Security it is essential to use the crisis theory of two way symmetrical program. In addition, the excellence theory would provide the White House management tactics and strategies to assess the intensity of the incident. 2. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
