As far as the claims are concerned, this is a second opportunity for amending them before the
international preliminary examination starts (the first being by way of Article 19 amendments
submitted to the International Bureau after receipt of the international search report). In practice,
most applicants filing a demand for international preliminary examination do not make use of the
possibility of amending the claims under Article 19, unless publication of the amendments is
desired [see Module 8 section 8.2]. Where it is clear from the references cited in the ISR and the
written opinion of the ISA that the PCT application requires amendments, applicants typically
furnish their amendments to the IPEA together with the demand. 9.3 Written Opinion of the IPEA
The written opinion of the ISA is generally used as the first written opinion of the IPEA,
particularly if the ISA and the IPEA are the same. In this case, you will most likely not receive a
“second” written opinion from the IPEA. You should therefore file any Article 34
amendments and/or any arguments in relation to the written opinion of the ISA together with the
demand. International preliminary examination does not usually start until after the ISA has drawn
up the ISR and the written opinion. You may wait for these documents before deciding whether to
proceed further with the PCT application by filing a demand for

Cherokee Nation And Native American Tribes
A kind of American jeep called Cherokee, which is the source for the brave Cherokee. Cherokee is
one of the most gallant tribe in native American tribes, and they are never afraid of the unknown
challenge. Courage and confidence make them achieve a good development in contemporary
society. Today the CherokeeNation has become an active leader in so many parts of social
production, such as education, housing, clothing, economic development ,and so on. According to
the demographic census in 2000, Cherokee is approved by the US federal the indigenous people of
the largest one.
First of all, I want to talk about development of education in Cherokee Nation. Because of the
revitalization of the Cherokee Nation, an increase number Cherokee people begin to pay
attention to education, and there is a rapid development in the area of education in Cherokee
Nation. According to the Robert J. Conley s article Cherokees, the Cherokee Nation has
established a complete education system for many people at different age. For example, the
Cherokee Nation would establish pre school for some children at age three to help these children
prepare to enter the first grade, and they would also establish some higher education program to
make Cherokee people enter some colleges (2015). As far as I am concerned, this kind of
education system can assist Cherokee Children more effectively adapt school life and make adult
Cherokees acquire some professional knowledge and improve their abilities. Durbin

Midwifery Care Shortage Essay
Introduction
There is a predicted midwifery workforce shortage (The Department of Health, 2013). To address
this, the Australian Government has been implementing measures to support midwives to work to
their full scope of practice including increasing midwifery care in community settings (Department
of Health and Ageing, 2010).
This research proposal aims to understand and interpret metropolitan hospital based lived
experience of providing extramural midwifery care after hospital based midwifery experience.
From this understanding any issues that impact negatively on midwives may be identified and the
risk mitigated.
Contextual review
The majority of maternity care is provided within a hospital setting and within a medical model
(Owens, et al., 2016).
The Australian Government policy is to increase women s access to midwifery care within their
local community (Department of Health and Ageing, 2010) however the majority of publically
employed metropolitan midwives are siloed into discrete areas of practice (antenatal, birthing,
postnatal care and home visiting). Providing care outside of a hospital setting is new to many
metropolitan Australian midwives.
Literature review
A literature review was undertaken in August and September 2016 through Queensland University
of Technology (QUT) library service to ascertain if this experience has been studied and to identify
other similar studies and how they were designed.
The first search used the key words: midwife experiences

The Board Of Directors And Management
I. Introduction
The board of directors and management in companies respectively constitute a fatal role to control
issues within a company so as to face the internationalization of real and financial markets that ease
the boundaries of the business world and increase the corporation s complexity and risks. While the
responsibilities of senior management is to control the day to day business affairs to ensure the
implementation of the strategies approved by the board, directors control the direction and goal of
the company as well as establish the limits of management behaviour against management
misconduct. In that respect, making a proper and explicit distinction between the function or duties

3) What is/are the role/duties/function of a Managing Director/CEO?
4) What is/are the role/duties/function of the Chair of the Board of Directors?
1) According to the judgement of the court in AWA Ltd v Daniels, we know that the board of
director s duties include: setting goals for the corporation; appointing the corporation s chief
executive; overseeing the plans of managers for the acquisition and organisation of financial and
human resources towards attainment of the corporation s goals; monitoring the progress of
reaching its goals.
2) Management operates through functions such as: execute the control of company s affairs;
establish internal controls, management information systems and accounting records; reduce to
writing if appropriate and communicate policies and strategies adopted by the board; summarise
the information that reflects the financial position and corporation s affairs for the board; prepare
the suggestions, proposals and budget for the board; deal with the personnel problem such as hiring
and firing employees.
3) Generally speaking, managing director or CEO is a director delegated the power to manage the
business of the corporation. In other words, as a managing director, he or she is bound to give
continuous attention to the affairs of the company. Usually a managing director is employed under
a contract of service

Money How The Destruction Of The Dollar Threatens The...
Throughout time, gold has preserved its value better than any other precious material (Forbes and
Ames 131). Even with that known there are still arguments against the gold standard. A few of
those arguments are; there isn t enough gold on earth for a gold standard, gold will tie a
governments hands and prevent growth, or how gold shows too much price volatility to be a
reliable anchor, but the 21st century gold standardchallenges the validity of those arguments. In
Steve Forbes and Elizabeth Ames book, Money: How the Destruction of the Dollar Threatens the
Global Economy and What We Can Do About It, they do a wonderful job describing the biggest
fears people have if the United States returns to a gold standard (Forbes and Ames 155). The
first concern is that there isn t enough gold in the world to have a gold standard today. Based on
today s global economy, including the U.S monetary base, that is correct but doesn t much
matter. Having a piece of gold for every dollar on earth is a general misconception. Gold doesn t
have to be based on the global supply. It must be used as a stable yard stick of value (147). Lack of
knowledge of gold backed currency is the reason people are so afraid. There are plenty of
countries that don t have an ounce of gold. As long as gold is used as a measurement tool, those
countries can tie their currency to the U.S. dollar, which is then tied to gold. In fact, not any
country to this day has ever had 100% of its money backed by gold. This

Language Development in Children Essay
Language Development in Children Language is a multifaceted instrument used to communicate an
unbelievable number of different things. Primary categories are information, direction, emotion,
and ceremony. While information and direction define cognitive meaning, emotion language
expresses emotional meaning. Ceremonial languageis mostly engaged with emotions but at some
level information and direction collection may be used to define a deeper meaning and purpose.
There is perhaps nothing more amazing than the surfacing of language in children. Children go
through a number of different stages as language develops. According to Craig and Dunn, (2010),

They have the ability to sense and respond to their environment quite well. Patricia Kuhl, codirector
of the University of Washington Institute for learning and Brain Sciences Seattle, Washington
states, The brain of the baby is a new frontier. Newborns begin to develop communication skills
by crying to express their wants and needs to their caregivers. There are pain or discomfort cries,
anger cries, and hunger cries to define how the baby is feeling. According to Crain and Dunn
(2010), The development production begins with undifferentiated cries at birth, which soon
adapts so they convey different meanings to their caregivers (p. 112). Babies begin to learn
language skills pretty quickly by listening and interacting with their caregivers. The baby s brain
is really flexible, they can not say much but they are learning a lot. says Rebecca Gomex, an
experimental psychologist at the University of Arizona, Tucson (Sohn, (2008). A baby will begin
their language journey by using their tongue, lips, palate, and, teeth to make sounds. By twelve
weeks infants begin to coo, and smile when talked to. Infants can distinguish between similar
sounds such as b, p, d, and t. Infants at this age can tell the difference between children and adult
speech sounds/tones. According to Crain and Dunn (2010), Although babies usually do not begin
using words until near the end of their first year, they are nonetheless acquiring a knowledge of

John Hancock Research Paper
Have you ever heard of the American Revolutionary War? The Revolutionary War started in the
colonies after the Sugar Act (1764), the Stamp Act (1765), the Townshend Acts (1767) and the Tea
Act (1773). The revolutionary war started because the colonies were tired of being taxed by the
British Government. The colonists were not being represented in Parliament so they told the
British Government that they were being taxed without being represented, ( no taxation without
representation ), which the colonists did not like.
Though, what really caused the war? The colonists could not take one more day of being taxed.
And what were the events that led the colonists to reach their boiling point and rebel at the British
Government? Here s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This was a meeting of delegates from colonies to discuss what to do about the British. This first
congress, decided on two actions. The adoption of: Declaration and Resolves: expressing their
discontent. The second action was to stop trading with the British. As this was going on, the British
heard that John Hancock and Samuel Adams were both hiding in Lexington and they were also
hiding lots of gunpowder in Concord. The British sent troops which led to the battle of Lexington
and Concord. This was a turning point. Hundreds of soldiers died on both sides. The reality of the
battle sent a message that there was no going back and in 1775, the Second Continental Congress
presided by John Hancock declared war against Britain. John Hancock named George Washington
Supreme Commander and as Washington fought on the battlefield Hancock worked on creating
the vision for a new country. As president of the Second Congress Hancock asked some of the
members to write the, soon to be, Declaration of Independence which was finalized and adopted
on July 4, 1776. Hancock was the first to sign the Declaration of Independence and his signature is

The topic of this article is the effects of adolescence female cannabinoid exposure on male

potential health risk of the cannabinoid exposure on their offspring. Previous studies have shown
increased risks of anxiety and depression, as well as decreased motivation and reading

Berdan Primers
The Berdan Primer or as I like to call it, the Burden primer, is referred to as non U.S. ammunition
due to the USA primarily using Boxer primers. Berdan primers are widely used outside of the
U.S. and normally found on cheap surplus ammunition. Berdan primers were created by Col.
Hiram Berdan, but not widely accepted in the U.S. due to its failure to easily be reloaded. These
primers are; very difficult to remove, time consuming and often require costly special tools to
remove. The Berdan primer has an anvil with a minimum of two flash holes, that are located
inside the primer pocket of the case. Berdan primed cartridges are still common around the globe,
and it can perform like the Boxer. Some aluminum and steel cartridges are often Berdan primed
with the initials NR because they are not manufactured to be reloaded. This also saves
manufactures a little money, making it a single shot cartridge. It s low cost and can be used for
hunting and target shooting. Some older Berdan primed cartridges had problems with corrosion,
but modern cartridges don t seem to have this problem. Throughout the years, hand loaders and
Gunsmiths have become innovative and created better ways to not only de prime Berdan primers,
but to also reload and even convert the cases. When de priming the... Show more content on

Women From the Old Testament
The Old Testament shows many examples of the roles of women throughout the course of time.
Throughout the Old Testament women rights and roles have changed dramatically from the time of
Eve when she appeared to of had her rights stolen, to the time Ruth used her rights to marry a kin
after being a widow, and the time of Bathsheba when she was instructed to do so instead of being
asked. Their rights throughout the Old Testament have not been set at a constant in fact their rights

During the story Eve was persuaded by a serpent to eat the fruit for the tree in which God told
them not to eat from. Eve then persuaded Adam to do the same deed. When they told God their
sins, God was mad that Eve spoke of the behalf of the both of them (Genesis 3:17). They were
both ordered to leave the garden, but the punishments He gave Eve put her on a lower pedestal
than her husband. By increasing pregnancy pains bringing forth children and her desires will be

David spotted Bathsheba while on his roof and ordered his men to go and find her and bring her

It was April 2010. David Cameron and Gordon Brown were the political front runners of Great
Britain. However, that realization was irrelevant to what was about to happen. Everyone was
watching as the highly anticipated, first televised debates in the United Kingdom began. The
discourse ended after several hours, and a new candidate quickly emerged as the leader. His name
was Nick Clegg. He led the Liberal Democrats, the smallest party. One might think about it over
and over again and ask, How did such a thing happen? . The answer, in itself, lies within the
influence of the media, the power of language, and how its words are intertwined so masterfully
that the effect becomes immeasurable. As Diane Setterfield once noted, There is something about
words. In expert hands, manipulated deftly, they take you prisoner. They wind themselves around
your limbs like spider silk, and when you are so enthralled you cannot move, they pierce your
skin, enter your blood, numb your thoughts. Inside you they work their magic. The press
established a perception for Clegg and made it known not only to all those in attendance, but to
everyone who was watching across the nation. Based on his calm, collective demeanor and the
way he was in control, Nick looked like the host. David and Gordon, on the other hand, appeared
rattled and uncomfortable. They went from being the top two candidates to guests, in a matter of
several hours. That just did not seem right. The power of language, as

David Fagonard The Swing
The term, Rococo is a style of French design or an artistic expression that originate in the modern
age of the eighteenth century. The Rococo style of art was an artistic revolution of the hopes and
dream of the emerging middle class, which spread through the European region. This movement is
most popular for its uses of fancy, curved asymmetrical forms and rich ornamentation. Rococoart
style is shown elegantly and beautifully, with the scenes of classic love stories and fantastical
dreams of romance. Fragonard described the theme of the painting as an act of individual freedom,
both physical and emotional in the sense of movement.
Fragonard s oil painting, The Swing was created in 1766. It is located in the Wallace Collection,
London, United Kingdom. The image shows as a major masterpiece in the style of Rococo art.
The painting, The Swing was originally built for a wealthy patron in homage to his wife. It was an
oil canvas and stands at a height of 31 7/8 x 25 Вј. Fragonard depicts a scene of scandal and

young woman sitting on a red, velvet, and gold seat in the swing, held up by gold ropes, in her
fancy poof, pink and lacy white dress, and a figure of a young male, who is her lover, hidden in
bushes of wild pink roses. He painted the outdoor scene image in light yellow color as the
sunlight glows through the trees and brightens them up, in soft, seductive glow. The light also
brightened the skin and the creamy billows of fabric that swirl around her and her dress. In
addition, the husband in the painting is referred as the shadows, in the dark because of his wife s

Dollar General Industry Analysis
MEMORANDUM To: From: Date: Re: Dollar General Industry Analysis Executive Summary:
Dollar General is the sixth largest mass merchandiser, and the fourth largest discount store in the
U.S. However, significant growth opportunities remain for extreme value retailers such as Dollar
General. Dollar General s strategic objective is sustainable and profitable long term growth. The
company has opportunities for growth by expanding in the United States to areas that lack an
extreme value retail presence. Continuing to serve low , middle , and fixed income families in
small communities will prevent Dollar General from competing directly against mass retailers such
as Wal Mart and Target. Dollar General s strength... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The dollar store industry caters to low , middle , and fixed income buyers who are price
sensitive. Regarding consumables, buyers are looking for the best bargain for an item that they
will need to purchase again in the near future. The high threat of customer buying power drives
profitability down. In contrast to buyer power, supplier power is low. This is due to the large
number of suppliers that offer price competitive, undifferentiated products. Suppliers must rely on
the retail industry to sell their product, so forward integration is unlikely. The low threat of
supplier power increases profitability. The threat of substitutes is medium. Since extreme value
retailers offer a focused assortment of goods in a small box format, mass retailers such as Wal
Mart and Target are substitutes rather than competitors. On one hand, mass retailers have a larger
assortment of branded goods, economies of scale, and are highly price competitive with extreme
value retailers. On the other hand, extreme value retailers are more convenient due to the small
box format, allowing a customer to get in and out quickly. The products being sold are
undifferentiated so price performance tradeoff is low. The threat of new entrants into the industry
is medium. There are areas of the U.S. with no extreme retail presence, making it easier for a new
entrant to open and capture market share. On the demand side,

I had lived in Merced, California from 2006 up until 2010. This time frame will go down in
history as probably the worst time to have tried to rent, own or live in that town due to the
skyrocketing amounts of the foreclosure that occurred there. We always rented from owners that
seemed unsure of letting go of their property, and this hesitation in letting go of their for rent
houses always came to a conclusion when we found out we were losing that house. Merced was
one of the foreclosure capitals of the entire country, and no one decided to tell my family. We

How Is Hollywood Portrayed In Saving Private Ryan
Steven Spielberg creates a master piece that entails many triumphs and loses. The movie, Saving
Private Ryan is not your typical World War II movie. This movie was released July twenty
fourth, 1998. It is about the triumph of the United States over Germany. An amazing aspect of
this film is how the plot does not make the viewer emotional; but the graphic scenes of
interactions, war, and the dialogue of the soldiers involved in the war. I love how it shows a
variety of soldiers that act differently and all have their very own attributes that both hither or

What is the r value? Does the r value suggest a positive or negative correlation? Is the correlation

Type your answer in complete sentences below:
The r value is represented as Pearson correlation which in this case is .102. This suggests a weak
positive correlation. The correlation value between Advertising and Airplay is .151 (P=.151). This
means that P 0.05; when P is more than the significance level, we fail to reject Ho. Therefore, there
is not sufficient evidence to support the conclusion that there is correlation between the advertising
budget of the album and the number of times that the album was played on the radio in the last year.

Comparing Wollstonecraft And Barbauld
Women s Rights in the Eyes of Wollstonecraft and Barbauld
I call with the firm tone of humanity; for my arguments, Sir, are dictated by a disinterested spirit
I plead for my sex not for myself (Wollstonecraft 2). Vindication of the Rights of Woman by Mary
Wollstonecraft and Rights of Woman by Anna Barbauld are two works that discuss the idea of
women s rights. In many ways, the two works greatly relate to one another and the authors seem to
believe in the same values, but they find ways that are both alike and different to portray their

Wollstonecraft was radical and direct. Much of her text was straightforward and she showed no
regards in holding back her thoughts. In some sense she was sarcastic, and mocked the way
women were looked upon such as when she says My own sex, I hope, will excuse me, if I treat
them like rational creatures, instead of flattering their FASCINATING graces, and viewing them
as if they were in a state of perpetual childhood, unable to stand alone. By emphasizing fascinating
graces, she is mocking the norm expectation of how women were supposed to act during that time
period. On the other hand, in Barbauld s poem, she mentions women s graces to their advantage.
Go, gird thyself with grace; collect thy store Of bright artillery glancing from afar; Soft melting
tones thy thundering cannon s roar, Blushes and fears thy magazine of war. (Barbauld) She
suggests that women should use their lady like qualities men have established upon them to their
advantage, rather than try to fight against it. It is clear that Wollstonecraft believed that women
deserve equality to men and that the only reason they were not as equal was because they were
not given the proper tools to be so (such as education). In her work, she does not try to take the
approach that women are better than men or

Should Informational Reports Be Written Directly Or...
Do you think informational reports should be written directly or indirectly? For what reasons
would an analytical report be written with a direct or an indirect approach? State your reasoning.
1) I think informational reports should be written directly because the purpose of these reports are
to inform the reader of something. Therefore, the main idea of the message should be introduced
first. Like an informational report, analytical reports are written to provide information and should
also lay out the findings and data in the beginning, then provide evidence for why things are this
way.
What technology trends do you think will affect business reporting and delivery in the future?
2) As technology progresses, I believe reporting has become hundreds of times faster. With the
technology available, research can be done in a matter of minutes, and when that report is done you
can send it anywhere in the world instantaneously. The website Chron explains: Whether you need

Gospel Of Luke Salvation Essay
Luke s Gospel specifically shows special concerns for those that are oppressed, looked down upon,
and outcasts of society. Jesus tends to reach out to those people. Why? Jesus is challenging attitudes
that limit God s care or blessings to any particular group or nation. And then proceeds to insist that
the gospelproclaimed is a message of hope for all people. Salvation is a huge part of the Gospel of
Luke, there are a plethora of examples of what it means to be saved. And in the many examples

Tax Collectors fall under that category of those that believed in the time of Jesus that salvation was
not quite available to them.
Tax Collectors were not highly respected in Roman Territories. The people hated the tax
collectors for several reasons. First and foremost, they were tax collectors. And that meant in
Rome you could tax whatever amount you wanted as long as Rome got their base taxes. So

Leonard, the accused, Mayherne the defense lawyer, Romaine the wife of the accused, the deceased

While the characters, are mostly the same, with the addition of some others, their parts in the
story differ as much as does the ending of both. Leonard again is the accused, and Mayherne his
defense, but Mayherne acts as a bit of a detective in the story and does little in the way of sleuthing
in the play. The old woman, Mrs. Finch, while saved from a speeding bus by Loenard in both
accounts, is later reunited with her savior at a party in the short story and in the play she finds him
at the theater. None of this really impacts either story because in both instances her only purpose
for being in the story is so she can fulfill the role in the classic style of all who done its by being
the one who gets bludgeoned to death. In both cases, Leonard s wife plays the evil woman out to

friendly ones. The analysis process must be detailed since a faulty conclusion can have serious
consequences and bring the inability to achieve friendly objectives at an acceptable cost.
Identification of correct COGs and understanding their relationship brings precision to
operational design where planners can successfully apply critical factors analysis to analyze
COG s critical capabilities, requirements, and vulnerabilities. Out of these three critical factors,
the commander will focus its effort to attack vulnerabilities that will produce the most decisive
damage to an adversary s COG. Nevertheless, before COGs are implemented into the plan, they
must be validated because attacking them will cause a change in adversary s course of action
(COA) or prevent it from achieving its objective. Moreover, COGs and their critical vulnerabilities
are subject to change during the operation at any time. Therefore, the commander and its staff must
adapt to the changing circumstances during the operation and adjust their plans and operations
accordingly as adversary s COGs and their critical factors change. Once the COG is defined, the
commander can select the approach deciding to attack it directly or indirectly to achieve its
objective. The direct

Essay on Prozac
Prozac
At first it was the cure all people were looking for. Then it became the drug they were afraid to
take. Somewhere between these two extremes lies the truth about the drug Flouxetine, better
known as Prozac, the most widely prescribed drug on the globe. It is mainly prescribed to
patients suffering from clinical depression. It was first brought to the market in 1988 by the
pharmaceutical giant Eli Lilly co. Even though it was originally prescribed for depression, it has
been prescribed for everything from eating disorders to insomnia. It was first considered the
wonder drug of the new decade because of the way it helped depression patients when no other anti

Clinical depression includes at least five of the following nine symptoms:
1. Feelings of sadness or irritability.
2. Loss of interest or pleasure in activities once enjoyed.
3. Changes in weight or appetite.
4. Changes in sleeping pattern.
5. Feeling Guilty, hopeless or worthless.
6. Inability to concentrate, remember things, or makes decisions.
7. Fatigue or loss of energy.
8. Restlessness or decreased activity noticed by others.
9. Thoughts of suicide or death.
Dr. Brian K. Martin, President of the Mental Health Association of Hawaii, recommends that
anyone who has suffered five or more of these symptoms for two weeks or longer see a doctor
(7). Nationally, the Mental Health Association estimates that only one third of those suffering
from depression actually seek help. Most are restrained, according to the association, by fear, lack
of knowledge, misinformation, and stigma. Depression is also the leading cause of suicide. It is
estimated that 15 percent of seriously depressed people take their own lives (7).
The cons of Prozac Historically, the use of drugs as fixers of the world s private ills has run into
serious, if unanticipated, snags. At the turn of the century, the medical community thought that
Cocaine was a completely appropriate, nonaddictive drug, and widely prescribed it. In the 1950s
and 60s, first barbiturates and then amphetimines were recommended for various psychological
ailments. It

Fun Film Plc Case Summary
In relation to Fun Film plc s current situation, the preliminary issue we must first identify is the
preceding to look at other issues arising from this case, is whether there was an intention to be
legally bound. The presumption of the intention to create legal relations refers to whether the
parties, via their agreement, wish to be enforced by contract law. Therefore, in this case, the courts
must determine whether this is an social/domestic agreements or a commercial arrangement.
Firstly, we distinguish the difference between domestic/social agreements and commercial
agreements in order to apply the precedents towards Fun Films plc s case; courts are generally

In contract law damages are a legal remedy available for a breach of contract. Damages are used as
an award of money to compensate the innocent parties. The primary function of damages in
contract law is to place the injured party in the position they would have been if the contract
been performed to its full agreement. Fun Film plc had lost money only down to the delay the
film which they suffered entirely, and readily, foreseeable losses far in excess of the hire charge
for the film. Example of damage in contract law is the case of Addis v Gramophone [1909] where
the claimant had been employed as a manager. The defendant relieved him of his services and
replaced him with someone else which was a breach of the contract. The claimant brought an action
for breach of contract under which he claims that the level of damages should reflect the
circumstances in which he was dismissed damaged his reputation and ability to find suitable
employment.
Contract law seeks to put the parties in the position they would have been in had the contract been
performed. He was therefore limited to claiming wages and loss of commission during the
contractually agreed notice period. There was no right to exemplary damages or damage to
reputation in contract claims. Such claims would have to be actioned in the law of

The Hidden Life Of Garbage Analysis
People often wonder if they are living the right life. Everyone knows the difference between right

Nowadays, Americans use technology to obtain information, because it s easier than knowing the
material. This has become a huge distraction and it s making people rely on technology way
more than is needed, especially the young people. For example, they use Google to search things
like homework, essays, speeches, etc. They do this as a shortcut to getting their work done
faster because they can find what they are looking for in a matter of seconds, instead of actually
doing the work by themselves and it s leading to an intellectually impoverished society. In the
article, Is Google Making Us Stupid, the author believes that Google is used by most people to
find information by just typing in a couple of words; however, those people don t learn the
information or value knowledge (Carr). This wouldn t be a problem for the people if they lived
a tech free life because without technology there is no reliance on it. Also if they lived a tech
free life, they wouldn t have to worry about getting spied on. Technology, such as phones, is used
to spy on people because the government and big companies like to keep track of their every

Misogyny in the Poem Ode on the Death of a Favourite Cat,...
Female writing during the 18th century became a popular method of expressing feminine
mentality on issues that were previously considered forbidden. Writers such as Aphra Behn, Mary
Leapor and Lady Mary Wortley Montagu published their works alongside many respected male
poets such as Jonathan Swift and Thomas Gray. Women were gaining a sense of independence and
emancipation from the traditional patriarchal rule, and this was occurring at an increasingly rapid
pace. Many female poets of the time wrote works that dealt with the treatment of women by men,
and how they are slaves to masculinity. At the same time, these women were degrading men to the
role of an oppressing tyrant. Male poets, such as Jonathan Swift and Thomas Gray, began to... Show

Selima is at leisure when observing her inverted reflection in the smooth lake (6), which
represents the water in the China vase. As she joyously gazes upon her image she purred
applause (12) as she adored her view, and continued to gaze until two angel forms were seen to
glide (14) in the vase. This section of the poem echoes Eve s character Milton s Paradise Lost:
As I bent down to look, just opposite
A shape within the watery gleam appeared,
Bending to look on me: I started back,
It started back; but pleased I soon returned,
Pleased it returned as soon with answering looks
Of sympathy and love: There I had fixed
Mine eyes till now, and pined with vain desire,
Had not a voice thus warned me; What thou seest,
What there thou seest, fair Creature, is thyself [.] (www.byrosons.net, Book IV, 460 468)
Both Eve and the female cat narcissistically become fascinated with their own reflections, allowing
themselves to become blinded from their unfortunate destinies, which lead them to their own
demise and self destruction. Another stereotypical assumption of women is that they contain an
unappeasable desire for material goods. Since women are also exuding a newfound sense of
control and power in the literary world, Gray also illustrates that, stereotypically, women do not
have any control or power over the situations they place themselves in. The

People Are Not Good At Heart Analysis
Humanity is hopeless people are destroying themselves. What will be the world in years? People
are naturally born evil and selfish. People are evil and selfish it is hard to see it but you can start

good at heart because people are naturally selfish and evil. People are born selfish. Mr. VanDaan
he goes to the food safe and again lights a match. Then cautiously opens the safe taking out a half

push others out of the way to get things they need. Mr. VanDaan saw that Peter s stomach was

Measuring The Effectiveness Of The Coastal Zone Management...
Measuring the Effectiveness of the Coastal Zone Management Act in the United States
Emily M. Joyce
ENVM 646 Fall 2014
Introduction
In 1972, the U.S. Congress approved the federal Coastal Zone Management Act (CZMA). The
CZMA gives a structure for improved management of the coastal and lands and waters of the
nations coastal zone. It was intended to provide broad policy direction, federal fiscal means, and
legal tools as incentives to coastal states wishing to modernize their aptitude for coastal management
. Participating states had to go through a planning and development stage and then submitted a
proposal for approval. Most of the state programs were approved in the late 1970s and early 1980s,
with ongoing implementation.
Since it s passage, the CZMA there have been numerous efforts to evaluate the success of the state
and local programs. The evaluations have varied broadly in scope, focus, and methods used. Most
have relied on the descriptions of the processes, case studies, expert opinions and public
perceptions to gauge success.
Structure and Policy Context of the CZM in the United States
A main item of coastal management exercise in the U.S. is the series of programs and activities
of all levels of government that directly linked to the federal CZMA. Under the CZMA, federal,
states, and local, are given important roles to play and flexibility in choosing their roles. This
results in varied costal programs, which gives certain challenges for a

This is an opinion piece, as its title gives a clear opinion; we need a minimum wage. Throughout the
article it mentions examples of countries that lack minimum wages, and how he U.S. and the UK
have been better off with a minimum wage.
A. Arguments/claims
i. I would like to see the end of sanctions for refusing jobs, the elimination of workfare schemes,
and the provision of a basic income replacing both in work and out of work benefits, says
Coppola. Replace the cheap benefits for survivable pay, and eliminate sanctions and workfare

Today at my internship, I observed, demonstrated exercises, and instructed the athlete s dynamic
warm ups and agility ladder drills in each class. The classes I worked today were College Prep,
Linear Acceleration, Speed and Weights, and Adult Bootcamp. Before each class, I prepped
before them by making sure that the proper equipment was set up for that particular class. For
the Speed and Weights, Adult Bootcamp, and College Prep classes, I made sure that all the
weights and resistance cords were out so that the athletes can use it for the workout circuits. For
the Linear Acceleration Class, I made sure that each athlete had a resistant cord as well as a belt
so that they could attach it to the resistance cord. In the College Prep Class, the class started out
with agility ladders drills and then progressed to a dynamic warm up then to ballistic stretching.
After the dynamic warmup, the athletes did a reactive agility drill called the Octagon in which the
coach gave the athlete queues for such movements of backpedaling, sprinting, and side shuffling.
Half of the class time was spent doing the Octagon drill and the other half of the class was spent on

southern white men. Chesnutt presents racismin The Sheriffs Children by exhibiting the quickness

hate. Chesnutt presents the sheriff as angry because of his own son trying to murder him. He shows
the sheriffs anger by pondering through his thoughts of how could his son could betray him after he
saved his life. Chesnutt allows the reader to understand the sons plan to kill the sheriff because of
what he previously done to him and his mother. Chesnutt reveals that the sheriff recollected the

he could not let his son go. Chesnutt presents this to relate to drowning because the sheriff s

showing overwhelming saturation of anger the sheriff still felt through all these events. Chesnutt

The Era Of The Renaissance
Italy can be looked at as the home of the renaissance and consequently the immergence of great
art. Artists such as Michelangelo, Botticelli, Da Vinci, and Raphael are some of the greats and are
looked at for standards. But what about the artists whose lives are mysteries, and their works that
were influenced by the greats? These artists hold just as much importance in the history of art as
do the artist s whose names can be recalled off the top of an average person s head. During the
sixteenth century things began to change in the art world, and that change was the Baroque. This
new style of art brought a revolution to how subject matter was painted, it brought upon ... a
radical reconsideration of art and its purposes... (249) and how artists of all ranks could learn to
paint the up and coming style of Baroque.
Renaissance art created standards and principles that every painting and artist had to utilize in order
to even be considered good, let alone great. Characteristics such as the phenomenon of natural light,
one point and linear perspective, and highly idealized religious or mythological figures changed
into the Baroque techniques of manipulating light to create emphasis, dramatizing the illustrated
allegory, and unidealized realism. Additionally, ... the Baroque trend dominated and gave its name
to the age... [but it was the presence of both styles] that give the Italian seventeenth century its
richness and diversity. (4) Italy, and Romeespecially, is home to what can

At 15, AC joined a friend s neighborhood gang called Hoodstarz. Sahiah was also a member, but
by 2011 she had left to run with a different crew, the Wave Gang. Their friends think her switch

shoot one of her former allies from Hoodstarz.
So it was that AC, home for Easter break, encountered Sahiah as he tried to ride his bike down
Bristol Street.
Cho! he yelled out to her.
Woo! she and the boys with her replied.

People used to walk out of their homes without the fear of their children being harmed. However,
the increase of gang violence in Brownsville, has lead many people to fear being outside of their
homes, due to the fear of being robbed or murdered. Wave Gang and Hood Starz are two popular
gangs in Brownsville, and are believed to be the blame for six homicides and thirty two shooting
episodes in 2012 (Kormanik). These gangs strictly focus on being in control of certain streets
and buildings in Brownsville, which leads them to viciously mark their territory. For example,
in October of 2012 there was a rooftop episode in which these two gangs were shooting from
roof to roof. As a result, Zurana Horton was fatally shot and murdered while attempting to shield
her children from the bullets, leaving residents of Brownsville terrified (Kormanik). Residents
do not feel comfortable allowing their children to play outside because they feel that gangs have
terrorized their neighborhood. This is a major issue because it should never be acceptable for
people to feel uncomfortable in a place where they pay thousands of dollars for rent. Teenagers
are turning to gangs simply because they are bored and are not occupied. They are not in school
or involved in any sort of enrichment programs. Although several gangs came together to march
in solidarity with clergy for peace, gang violence and the use of guns have rapidly increased.
There are so many shootings that occur on a daily basis that cops are struggling to convict the
murders of the crimes committed (News 12). Furthermore, in 2014, Brownsville was the lead for
New York Cityshootings. The 73rd Precinct, which is located in Brownsville, New York has
logged more shooting victims than any other precinct. As mentioned before, the reason for this is
because children are

It is performed by an International Preliminary Examining Authority (IPEA), one of the Offices which are also International Searching Authorities (ISAs) [see Module 7]. As far as the claims are concerned, this is a second opportunity for amending them before the international preliminary examination starts (the first being by way of Article 19 amendments submitted to the International Bureau after receipt of the international search report). In practice, most applicants filing a demand for international preliminary examination do not make use of the possibility of amending the claims under Article 19, unless publication of the amendments is desired [see Module 8 section 8.2]. Where it is clear from the references cited in the ISR and the written opinion of the ISA that the PCT application requires amendments, applicants typically furnish their amendments to the IPEA together with the demand. 9.3 Written Opinion of the IPEA The written opinion of the ISA is generally used as the first written opinion of the IPEA, particularly if the ISA and the IPEA are the same. In this case, you will most likely not receive a “second” written opinion from the IPEA. You should therefore file any Article 34 amendments and/or any arguments in relation to the written opinion of the ISA together with the demand. International preliminary examination does not usually start until after the ISA has drawn up the ISR and the written opinion. You may wait for these documents before deciding whether to proceed further with the PCT application by filing a demand for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Cherokee is one of the most gallant tribe in native American tribes, and they are never afraid of the unknown challenge. Courage and confidence make them achieve a good development in contemporary society. Today the CherokeeNation has become an active leader in so many parts of social production, such as education, housing, clothing, economic development ,and so on. According to the demographic census in 2000, Cherokee is approved by the US federal the indigenous people of the largest one. First of all, I want to talk about development of education in Cherokee Nation. Because of the revitalization of the Cherokee Nation, an increase number Cherokee people begin to pay attention to education, and there is a rapid development in the area of education in Cherokee Nation. According to the Robert J. Conley s article Cherokees, the Cherokee Nation has established a complete education system for many people at different age. For example, the Cherokee Nation would establish pre school for some children at age three to help these children prepare to enter the first grade, and they would also establish some higher education program to make Cherokee people enter some colleges (2015). As far as I am concerned, this kind of education system can assist Cherokee Children more effectively adapt school life and make adult Cherokees acquire some professional knowledge and improve their abilities. • 4. Midwifery Care Shortage Essay Introduction There is a predicted midwifery workforce shortage (The Department of Health, 2013). To address this, the Australian Government has been implementing measures to support midwives to work to their full scope of practice including increasing midwifery care in community settings (Department of Health and Ageing, 2010). This research proposal aims to understand and interpret metropolitan hospital based lived experience of providing extramural midwifery care after hospital based midwifery experience. From this understanding any issues that impact negatively on midwives may be identified and the risk mitigated. Contextual review The majority of maternity care is provided within a hospital setting and within a medical model (Owens, et al., 2016). The Australian Government policy is to increase women s access to midwifery care within their local community (Department of Health and Ageing, 2010) however the majority of publically employed metropolitan midwives are siloed into discrete areas of practice (antenatal, birthing, postnatal care and home visiting). Providing care outside of a hospital setting is new to many metropolitan Australian midwives. Literature review A literature review was undertaken in August and September 2016 through Queensland University of Technology (QUT) library service to ascertain if this experience has been studied and to identify other similar studies and how they were designed. The first search used the key words: midwife experiences ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Money How The Destruction Of The Dollar Threatens The... Throughout time, gold has preserved its value better than any other precious material (Forbes and Ames 131). Even with that known there are still arguments against the gold standard. A few of those arguments are; there isn t enough gold on earth for a gold standard, gold will tie a governments hands and prevent growth, or how gold shows too much price volatility to be a reliable anchor, but the 21st century gold standardchallenges the validity of those arguments. In Steve Forbes and Elizabeth Ames book, Money: How the Destruction of the Dollar Threatens the Global Economy and What We Can Do About It, they do a wonderful job describing the biggest fears people have if the United States returns to a gold standard (Forbes and Ames 155). The first concern is that there isn t enough gold in the world to have a gold standard today. Based on today s global economy, including the U.S monetary base, that is correct but doesn t much matter. Having a piece of gold for every dollar on earth is a general misconception. Gold doesn t have to be based on the global supply. It must be used as a stable yard stick of value (147). Lack of knowledge of gold backed currency is the reason people are so afraid. There are plenty of countries that don t have an ounce of gold. As long as gold is used as a measurement tool, those countries can tie their currency to the U.S. dollar, which is then tied to gold. In fact, not any country to this day has ever had 100% of its money backed by gold. This ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They have the ability to sense and respond to their environment quite well. Patricia Kuhl, codirector of the University of Washington Institute for learning and Brain Sciences Seattle, Washington states, The brain of the baby is a new frontier. Newborns begin to develop communication skills by crying to express their wants and needs to their caregivers. There are pain or discomfort cries, anger cries, and hunger cries to define how the baby is feeling. According to Crain and Dunn (2010), The development production begins with undifferentiated cries at birth, which soon adapts so they convey different meanings to their caregivers (p. 112). Babies begin to learn language skills pretty quickly by listening and interacting with their caregivers. The baby s brain is really flexible, they can not say much but they are learning a lot. says Rebecca Gomex, an experimental psychologist at the University of Arizona, Tucson (Sohn, (2008). A baby will begin their language journey by using their tongue, lips, palate, and, teeth to make sounds. By twelve weeks infants begin to coo, and smile when talked to. Infants can distinguish between similar sounds such as b, p, d, and t. Infants at this age can tell the difference between children and adult speech sounds/tones. The Revolutionary War started in the colonies after the Sugar Act (1764), the Stamp Act (1765), the Townshend Acts (1767) and the Tea Act (1773). The revolutionary war started because the colonies were tired of being taxed by the British Government. The colonists were not being represented in Parliament so they told the British Government that they were being taxed without being represented, ( no taxation without representation ), which the colonists did not like. Though, what really caused the war? The colonists could not take one more day of being taxed. And what were the events that led the colonists to reach their boiling point and rebel at the British Government? Here s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This was a meeting of delegates from colonies to discuss what to do about the British. This first congress, decided on two actions. The adoption of: Declaration and Resolves: expressing their discontent. The second action was to stop trading with the British. As this was going on, the British heard that John Hancock and Samuel Adams were both hiding in Lexington and they were also hiding lots of gunpowder in Concord. The British sent troops which led to the battle of Lexington and Concord. This was a turning point. Hundreds of soldiers died on both sides. The reality of the battle sent a message that there was no going back and in 1775, the Second Continental Congress presided by John Hancock declared war against Britain. John Hancock named George Washington Supreme Commander and as Washington fought on the battlefield Hancock worked on creating the vision for a new country. The particular study is important because marijuana is one of the most abused drugs among females. Previous studies have shown increased risks of anxiety and depression, as well as decreased motivation and reading comprehension skills (Brynes, 2012, p 1348). Berdan primers are widely used outside of the U.S. and normally found on cheap surplus ammunition. Berdan primers were created by Col. Hiram Berdan, but not widely accepted in the U.S. due to its failure to easily be reloaded. These primers are; very difficult to remove, time consuming and often require costly special tools to remove. The Berdan primer has an anvil with a minimum of two flash holes, that are located inside the primer pocket of the case. Berdan primed cartridges are still common around the globe, and it can perform like the Boxer. Some aluminum and steel cartridges are often Berdan primed with the initials NR because they are not manufactured to be reloaded. This also saves manufactures a little money, making it a single shot cartridge. It s low cost and can be used for hunting and target shooting. Some older Berdan primed cartridges had problems with corrosion, but modern cartridges don t seem to have this problem. The discourse ended after several hours, and a new candidate quickly emerged as the leader. His name was Nick Clegg. He led the Liberal Democrats, the smallest party. One might think about it over and over again and ask, How did such a thing happen? . The answer, in itself, lies within the influence of the media, the power of language, and how its words are intertwined so masterfully that the effect becomes immeasurable. As Diane Setterfield once noted, There is something about words. In expert hands, manipulated deftly, they take you prisoner. Regarding consumables, buyers are looking for the best bargain for an item that they will need to purchase again in the near future. This is due to the large number of suppliers that offer price competitive, undifferentiated products. Suppliers must rely on the retail industry to sell their product, so forward integration is unlikely. The low threat of supplier power increases profitability. The threat of substitutes is medium. Comparing Wollstonecraft And Barbauld Women s Rights in the Eyes of Wollstonecraft and Barbauld I call with the firm tone of humanity; for my arguments, Sir, are dictated by a disinterested spirit I plead for my sex not for myself (Wollstonecraft 2). Vindication of the Rights of Woman by Mary Wollstonecraft and Rights of Woman by Anna Barbauld are two works that discuss the idea of women s rights. In many ways, the two works greatly relate to one another and the authors seem to believe in the same values, but they find ways that are both alike and different to portray their message of women s equality. In some sense she was sarcastic, and mocked the way women were looked upon such as when she says My own sex, I hope, will excuse me, if I treat them like rational creatures, instead of flattering their FASCINATING graces, and viewing them as if they were in a state of perpetual childhood, unable to stand alone. By emphasizing fascinating graces, she is mocking the norm expectation of how women were supposed to act during that time period. On the other hand, in Barbauld s poem, she mentions women s graces to their advantage. Go, gird thyself with grace; collect thy store Of bright artillery glancing from afar; Soft melting tones thy thundering cannon s roar, Blushes and fears thy magazine of war. (Barbauld) She suggests that women should use their lady like qualities men have established upon them to their advantage, rather than try to fight against it. It is clear that Wollstonecraft believed that women deserve equality to men and that the only reason they were not as equal was because they were not given the proper tools to be so (such as education). For what reasons would an analytical report be written with a direct or an indirect approach? State your reasoning. 1) I think informational reports should be written directly because the purpose of these reports are to inform the reader of something. Therefore, the main idea of the message should be introduced first. Like an informational report, analytical reports are written to provide information and should also lay out the findings and data in the beginning, then provide evidence for why things are this way. What technology trends do you think will affect business reporting and delivery in the future? 2) As technology progresses, I believe reporting has become hundreds of times faster. The website Chron explains: Whether you need to speak with an employee who is traveling in another state or country or you need to communicate with your supplier halfway around the world, technology allows you to do so instantaneously. Another one being that the coach interacts not only with the athlete but their parents as well. People used to walk out of their homes without the fear of their children being harmed. However, the increase of gang violence in Brownsville, has lead many people to fear being outside of their homes, due to the fear of being robbed or murdered. Wave Gang and Hood Starz are two popular gangs in Brownsville, and are believed to be the blame for six homicides and thirty two shooting episodes in 2012 (Kormanik). These gangs strictly focus on being in control of certain streets and buildings in Brownsville, which leads them to viciously mark their territory. For example, in October of 2012 there was a rooftop episode in which these two gangs were shooting from roof to roof. As a result, Zurana Horton was fatally shot and murdered while attempting to shield her children from the bullets, leaving residents of Brownsville terrified (Kormanik). Residents do not feel comfortable allowing their children to play outside because they feel that gangs have terrorized their neighborhood. This is a major issue because it should never be acceptable for people to feel uncomfortable in a place where they pay thousands of dollars for rent. Teenagers are turning to gangs simply because they are bored and are not occupied. They are not in school or involved in any sort of enrichment programs. Although several gangs came together to march in solidarity with clergy for peace, gang violence and the use of guns have rapidly increased. There are so many shootings that occur on a daily basis that cops are struggling to convict the murders of the crimes committed (News 12). Furthermore, in 2014, Brownsville was the lead for New York Cityshootings. The 73rd Precinct, which is located in Brownsville, New York has logged more shooting victims than any other precinct.
