Fatalism In The Radical Durkheim And C. W. Mills
This is evident in Frank Pearce s chapter Fatalism in The Radical Durkheim and C. W. Mills chapter
The Promise in The Sociological Imagination as both men place great emphasis on the fact that our
awareness of our everyday lives affect how we behave and react to daily stressors. However, Pearce s
Durkheimianism exceeds what Mill s calls the sociological imagination by demonstrating that all
walks of life suffer no matter their employment or social ranking, but in very different ways.
Additionally, Pearce s explanation on fatalism furthers this point by insisting that our personal
experiences are predetermined due to the greater society in which we live in; thus, the outcome
becomes unavoidable (Pearce 2013:126). For this reason, I contend

Plasma Membrane Lab Report
The Effects of Temperature and Detergent on the Plasma Membrane
Introduction
The Effects of Temperature and Detergent on the Plasma Membrane
Introduction
The fluid mosaic model developed by S.J Singer and Garth Nicolson in 1972 explains the structure of
the membrane. It shows this through the explanation of the phospholipid bilayer which contains
hydrophobic tails and a hydrophilic heads as well as the peripheral and integral proteins which help to
hold the structure. The fluid mosaic model also says how the membrane is in a fluid form rather than
solid because of the constant movement within the membrane (Biology Online, 2008).
The cell membrane is a semi permeable protective layer which protects the cell from the outside
environment by only allowing in and out of the cell only what is needed in order to survive. The cells
that make up the red beetroot contain a compound called betacyanin which is the cause for the red
pigment of the beetroot (Carter Edwards, 2011). The betacyanin is found within the vacuoles of the
cell and is soluble in water (Cellular membrane structure and function, n.d.). The proteins within the
membrane of the cell denature when subjected to high temperatures which causes the membrane to
break apart allowing the betacyanin within the cell to release causing a red pigment to release from the
beetroot. The higher the temperature and the longer at which the beetroot is exposed to it, causes more
pigment to release ( Beetroot Cell

Examples Of Classism In The Outsiders
Classism was a big part of the 60s and with Ponyboy and the gang, it comes into play in more than
one way. The Outsiders, based in the 1960s Oklahoma, is about two gangs, the Greasers and the
Socials. The Greasers were lower class, lower income people who were relatively rough around the
edges while the Socials were the West side rich kids who went around getting drunk and jumping
Greasers. The book is about the conflicts that these two groups have, either with each other or inside
of their own group. In S.E. Hinton s novel, The Outsiders, many of the conflicts and hardships in the
community are caused by the Socials (Socs). The killing of Bob had many different sides but from the
side of the Greasers, it was what they had to do. One example of this was that Johnny was justified in
killing Bob. In the text it states, They were drowning you, Pony. They might have killed you (pg. 50
pdf). This shows that Johnny killed the Bob in self defense and that if they hadn t been drowning
Pony, he probably wouldn t have done it. The text explains, Johnny getting ... Show more content on

For example, the Socials were responsible for starting the rumble. The text states, Darry turned to see
who it was, and Paul swung a hard right to the jaw that would have felled anyone but Darry. The
rumble was on (pg. 122 pdf). This shows that the first shot of the rumble was taken by a Soc so
therefor, they were the ones who started the rumble. Another example would be that the Socials were
responsible for Johnny s death. The text also states, I held him like Soda had held him the day we
found him lying in the lot (pg. 64 pdf). If you look in the book, you will see that none of what
happened would have happened if it hadn t been for the Socs trying to beat up Johnny and Ponyboy. It
really wouldn t have been possible to prevent the rumble or Johnny s death, especially with the Socs in
the situation that they are

Essay on Chaos Theory Explained
Chaos Theory Explained Traditionally, scientists have looked for the simplest view of the world
around us. Now, mathematics and computer powers have produced a theory that helps researchers to
understand the complexities of nature. The theory of chaos touches all disciplines. Ian Percival, The
Essence of Chaos Part I: The Basics of Chaos. Watch a leaf flow down stream; watch its behavior
within the water... Perhaps it will sit upon the surface, gently twirling along with the current, dancing
around eddies, slightly spinning, then all of a sudden, it slaps into a rock or gets sucked beneath the
water by a small whirlpool. After doing this enough times one will realize it is nearly impossible to

In the last years of the 19th century French mathematician, physicist and philosopher Henri Poincare
stumbled headlong into chaos with a realization that the reductionism method may be illusory in
nature. He was studying his chosen field at the time; a field he called the mathematics of closed
systems the epitome of Newtonian physics. A Closed system is one made up of just a few interacting
bodies sealed off from outside contamination. According to classical physics, such systems are
perfectly orderly and predictable. A simple pendulum in a vacuum, free of friction and air resistance
will conserve its energy. The pendulum will swing back and forth for all eternity. It will not be subject
to the dissipation of entropy, which eats its way into systems by causing them to give up their energy
to the surrounding environment. Classical scientists were convinced that any randomness and chaos
disturbing a system such as a pendulum in a vacuum or the revolving planets could only come from
outside chance contingencies. Barring those, pendulum and planets must continue forever, unvarying
in their courses.2 It was this comfortable picture of nature that Poincare blew apart when he attempted
to determine The stability of our solar system... For a system containing only two bodies, such as the
sun and

How Branding Influences Consumers Luxury Fashion Choices
When given a choice between a pair of Prada shoes or a pair of Puma shoes, consumers are aware that
both products will provide sufficient comfort and protection to their feet. Yet, when asked in a recent
visual survey, which shoe they would choose to buy, 76% of people chose the Prada brand shoe
(Appendix p. 1). Given that both shoes can achieve the same purpose, one asks why have so many
people chosen that particular brand of shoe over the other? When contemplating the alternative brands
of each shoe, it could be suggested that effective branding has enticed consumers to prefer the Prada
shoe? The following essay will discuss how branding influences consumers luxury fashion choices.
Bain and Company (D Arpizio et al, 2014) state that the market for personal luxury goods has nearly
tripled in the past 20 years (p. 7), with the industry reflecting healthy growth by exceeding €850
billion in 2014 (p. 3). It is evident that luxury consumption is a thriving industry. Despite the fact that
prices of luxury goods has risen over 60 percent in a decade, consumers are still choosing to purchase
such items (Sherman, 2014).
Prada, Chanel and Louis Vuitton are recognized as luxury brand goods (Okonkwo, 2007, pp. 45 47),
yet there is much deliberation about the definition of luxury. Bearden and Etzel (1982, p. 184) define
luxury as something that is more than necessary , Webster states that it is something adding to pleasure
or comfort but not absolutely necessary (2004, p.

A Brief Note On The And The Russian Conflict
Novorossiya is a confederation that emerged during and because of the current Ukrainian Conflict.
Also known as New Russia or Union of People s Republics, it consists of the self proclaimed Donetsk
People s Republic and Luhansk People s Republic. It was founded on 24 May 2014 by the signing
behind closed doors of the agreements between self appointed leaders of the two People s Republics.
Neither Donetsk People s Republic nor Luhansk People s Republic are recognized as a sovereign
states by any country or intergovernmental organizations and institutions. Russia, too, despite its
support to the cause, has never officially referred to Novorossiya as a confederation. Both of the
People s Republics, however, are classified as terrorist ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Looking back, once you add all of those factors, it seems that the emergence of the crisis should not
have come as any type of surprise, but it did. Although now, with foresight, it is easy to say that the
rise of the crisis was predictable and inevitable, no one, at the time, expected events to develop as they
did.
To be able to fully understand the purpose and the actions of the Novorossiya terrorist groups, one
must first understand what caused the Ukrainian Conflict to erupt and the many developments that
happened thereafter.
Ukrainian Russian relationship and history
Historically, Russia and Ukraine have had a close and complex relationship, which is important to
understand before making any type of judgments on why the current Conflict evolved as it did.
Although, it is wrong to say that this relationship had always been a peaceful one, the countries have
constantly been closely intervened.
Their common history dates back to the Kievan Rus (882 1240), which is considered the beginning of
the Russian Nation but was geographically located on what is now Ukrainian land, and more
specifically Ukraine s capital Kiev. Following this, Kievan Rus became the Russian Empire,

The Argument In Favor Of Gun Control
The debate on gun control is fueled by peoples conflicting thoughts, opinions and, ideas. Between
those who support gun rights, and those who argue against them, and in favor of harsher gun control
laws. It has shown and proven to be one of the most argued and debated issues in our society today.
Understanding the exact meaning of our 2nd amendments right plays a major role in the arguments of
either side. Being that each side reads, or understands its meaning differently. I will be presenting a
few arguments for both side of the debate.
Those that argue in favor of gun control believe the following; they state that most violent crimes are
committed with guns; therefore they believe restricting gun ownership will more than likely minimize

Pros And Cons Of Exercise Eminent Domain
Although eminent domain is sometimes necessary, there should be limits placed on it to ensure that
individual property rights are never trampled on. This essay will explain at what times government
officials should have the right to exercise eminent domain, the extent of which the current occupant
should be satisfactorily compensated, and an engineer s duty to the public to only accept projects
where the previous property owners are content in the arrangements of their dismissal.
The government should exercise eminent domain cautiously to ensure that individual property rights
are seldom taken away. In 2005, the ruling of Kelo v. City of New London allowed state and local
governments to take private property and transfer it to other private owners to promote economic
development (Somin 1). The promotion of economic development, however, is not sound reasoning to
transfer private property from one private owner to the next. The only instance when this may be
acceptable is when the property in mention is no longer in use. Some examples include ... Show more

required to model the new area to suit the individual s needs. In the end, if it is to society s benefit that

Video Games Can Be Good For People
The debate has started ever since there were tests when the first console has been released to take
home and play in the living room. Ever since then scientists study them to find out if video games are
bad for a person s health, and if playing them for an excessive amount of time has a change in one s
health. The tests that researchers study will inform people about gaming and how it changes their
health, but there will still be millions of people playing video games. There are many people who love
to play and even play video games for a living, but there are many people who disagree with video
games. Many of the people who disagree with video games are mainly parents who see their kids
playing them, but there are more than just parents who do not like them. There are many other
disagreements about video games that people think harm someone s health and relationships. I think
video games can be good for people and that they can even relieve stress to a point, but anyone
playing video games needs to know when to take a break or stop playing. Many people who do not
like video games because they are too violent only see the violent games and not much more. It is
usually the parents who buy their kid a game and do not realize that it is too violent and then they hate
the video games. I agree that video games should not be played by kids, but that is why there is a
game rating. This game rating shows what ages are recommended for playing specific games, it even
shows what is

The Case Of Gonzalez Vs. Raich
The case of Gonzalez vs. Raich in 2005 caught the interest of many people. Angel Raich is a
California resident who has a medical condition that causes her to be in excruciating pain. Angel s
physician had tried numerous treatments and medicines to help her with the pain, but nothing has
seemed to work. In 1996 voters in the State of California voted that the use of marijuana for medicinal
purposes should be legal. In November 1996 the law was put into use. Angel s physician decided to
try marijuana for her condition. The use of the medical marijuana had alleviated Angel s pain. That
being said Angel and her physician could finally relax since they had seem to find a cure. Angel was

The high ruling of the case decided that she was guilty until further pressed when the Ninth circuit,
then ruled that the medicinal use of marijuana did not substantially affect intrastate commerce and that
Congress had no ruling in this case. I agree with the ending decision of the case. It is my opinion that
if a physician prescribes a prescription that is helping cure the problem, then it should be the patients
right to take these actions to survive. In today s society the legalization of medicinal use of marijuana
is becoming more common amongst the states. There are 24 states that recognize and accept patient
registry or ID cards for medicinal use. Out of these 24 states, California is the only state to not have a
specification on the condition you have to have to get prescribed a patient ID. Epilepsy is the main
condition that the other 23 states recognize as a condition worthy of prescribing the use of medicinal
cards. Of the 24 states only Colorado and Washington allow citizens to use the drug recreationally.
One of the main supporting arguments held for legalizing marijuana was that by taxing the drug it
would bring in budgets for things such as money needed for schools, also much needed money in the
health care field. It also would give the opportunity to free up police resources. One valid point was

The Wright brothers; two famous inventors that we think we all know, but do we really? My book,
The Wright Brothers by Charles Ludwig, takes us back to where it all began. The book describes
where Orville and Wilbur Wright lived, believed in ,and where they first came up with the idea of the
airplane. The author also added the struggles they went through and how they solved them. There are
two main characters to this book,Wilbur Wright and Orville wright. Wilbur and Orville were two
inventors. Their biggest invention was the world s first successful airplane. Wilbur Wright was born
April 16, 1867 on a farm near Melville, Indiana. Orville Wright was born August 19, 1871 in Dayton,
Ohio. Wilbur and Orville discovered they wanted to be inventors when their dad, Bishop Milton
Wright, brought them back an invention that could fly up if you twisted the screws. In 1881, the
Wright family moved to Richmond, Indiana. In Richmond Orville developed a love of kites, and soon
began making his own at home. Wilbur Wright was a bright and studious student. When he graduated

December 1, 2014
Mobile payments are becoming an upcoming new trend when it comes to technology. Mobile
payments allow its users to pay for their daily needs with their phone without having to carry cash, let
alone, their wallets around. However, the United States has been delaying the adaptation of mobile
payments due to the fact that many different retailers have developed their own form of mobile
payments as opposed to a universal approach. While many countries in Europe and Asia have
successfully adopted mobile payments, United States still are behind in the trend.
Introduction:
As technology grows, so do the consumers. Consumers rely so much on easy shopping and simplified
checking out possibilities that application developers have started to develop more mobile payment
applications. These mobile payments are the technology of the future and yet the United States is still
lagging behind in the rush to simplify shopping from a plastic card to a mobile app. However, with
such developers from Apple and Google, there are applications where the mobile phone can stand as a
wallet, but retailors do not necessarily choose a universal application to use. With Apple Pay and
Google Wallet actively used, many retailors have opted to convert their merchandise to be payable
with such applications .

A Case Of Statutes Trumping Common Law
This is a case of statutes trumping Common Law. The seller would allege that there was a mistake in
the advertisement and that, as advertisements are not offer, no contract was formed. This is a mistake,
as the facts demonstrate; New Jersey Vehicle Code § 4251 trumps the common law practices of offers
and mistakes. Lonergan v. Scolnick tells us that advertisements are simply manifestations of
willingness to enter into a bargain, but are not meant to justify another person in understanding that
his assent to that bargain is invited and will conclude it, as offers do (Restatement 2nd §24).
Therefore, the advertisement is not considered to be an offer to sell the vehicle at the stated price.
Under Common Law, ABC Motors would be able to refuse to sell the car at the mistaken price of
$25,000. However, in New Jersey, advertisements for the sale of automobiles are governed by a
statute, New Jersey Vehicle Code § 4251, stating, A dealer of automobiles in this state may not decline
or refuse to sell an automobile to any person at an advertised price while the vehicle remains unsold,
unless the advertisement states the advertised total price is good for only a specified period of time
and that time has elapsed. As this statute would trump the common law practice of advertisements not
being offers, ABC Motors advertisement is considered an offer that cannot be revoked while the
vehicle remains unsold and the expiration of the offer has not lapsed. After receiving the

Abstract: Autism is a brain development disorder that is found in children usually before the age of
three. Autism affects children and their social interactions, impaired communication, and restricted
and repetitive behavior. (www.wikipedia.org) The number of children that have been diagnosed with
autism is dramatically increasing. Boys are four times more likely than girls to be diagnosed with
autism. Signs of autism include visual impairments such as lack of eye contact, speech impairments

They are also less likely to ask for something such as a drink or snack, or share experiences such as
telling their parent what they did that day or what they found digging in the mud. They have difficulty
being creative when playing. They are commonly engaged in repetitive behavior which is divided into
five categories: stereotype: hand flapping, head rolling, or body rocking; compulsive behavior:
arranging objects in a certain order; sameness: resistance to change; ritualistic behavior: performs
same activity in the same way everyday; restricted behavior: limited focus, interests and activities; and
self injury: movements that can injure themselves such as biting. The causes of autism are somewhat a
mystery. Many blame genetics and environmental causes. Researchers of autism reason that it is so
hard to define the cause because it is not a single disorder, but a spectrum of disorders. Genetic factors
are the most significant cause for autism spectrum disorders. Early studies of twins found the average
concordance for identical twins to be 70% and estimated heritability to be over 90%, in other words,
that genetics explains over 90% of whether a child will develop autism. Many of the non autistic co
twins had learning or social disabilities. For adult siblings the risk for having one or more features of
the broader autism phenotype might be as high as 30%.

Mayall s Object (Arp 148)
Mayall s object (also known as Arp 148) is the stunning result of an encounter between two galaxies
resulting in a ring shaped galaxy and a long tailed companion, located almost 465 million light years
away within the constellation Ursa Major. The pair extends across 80 thousand light years.
The collision between the two parent galaxies produced a shockwave effect that first drew matter into
the center and then caused it to propagate outwards in a ring. The elongated companion perpendicular
to the ring suggests that Arp 148 offers a unique view of a collision in progress.
What probably has been the core of the target galaxy can be seen as a small yellow area at 5 o clock

How Did The British Industrial Revolution Mountaineering
Mountaineering, which had never been witnessed by the world, became considered a new sport during
the British Industrial Revolution. The Industrial Revolution was a time period when great amounts of
change swept across the western world. During the Industrial Revolution, the British created and
revolutionized the sport of mountaineering. The development of Alpinism during the time period
created a sense of adventure and human spirit which branched off to new sports and adventurous
activities.
Before the Industrial Revolution, mountaineering was not yet classified as a sport. The only climbing
and trekking that was done on such high peaks was strictly related to scientific research. Mountains

members were alpinists, but that all of them were members of the middle class (Koen). The working
class did not try the sport of climbing because they did not have the money nor the time. The U.K. s
middle class climbers flocked to the intimidating mountains of the European Alps and started to scale
these mountains. At the time, climbing techniques were just beginning to be formed so there were not

The Five Transcontinental Railroads Case Study
Hannah Mendoza
Question one: The railroads were a brilliant and expensive project. They spread all the way from
California to Florida and helped move around raw materials, agriculture, and stimulated mining. The
railroads were so expensive, but with the help of private banks, who were a little reluctant, and land
grants from Congress they were able to build them. Due to private banks being a little fearful that
railroad companies couldn t pay them back in a fashionable time Congress decided to step in and give
land grants for them to sell. This was a win win situation because they got money to pay the bank back
and it helped improve settlement in the West. They helped with four of the five transcontinental
railroads.
Question two: A few things happened that made people criticize John Rockefeller and Standard Oil.
Some of these were accusations and one of them was the thought that John Rockefeller was involved
in trying to get rid of his competitors and predatory pricing. It is said that he was trying to gain a
monopoly in the railroad industry. Another accusation was that he bribed other men to spy on his
competitors and made secret agreements. Standard Oil was made up of a variety of companies and
they controlled a majority of the pipelines and refineries. Congress attempted to stop this monopoly
from forming by passing the Sherman Antitrust Act that forbade combinations and trusts in business.
Question three: In the election of 1888 tariffs were a major discussion. The import taxes were high,
but not everyone backed them. The businesses didn t like that Grover Cleveland, a Democrat, said that
high tariffs were wrong and that he wanted to lower them. The Republicans argued against Cleveland
and didn t think that the tariffs should be lowered. They believed that with the tariff there was
potential to produce a national coalition opposing the Democrats in the South. This ideology that they
had before the election had bad outcomes that were realised afterwards. Once they raised the tariff
caused people to criticize them and protest, they realized their mistake. Due to this mistake the
Democrats won the next election changing the Republicans views.
Question four: A lot of people supported bimetallism.

Transport Systems And Transportation Systems
Introduction Cities are places which have huge amount of gathering of people, collection of economic
activities and complex infrastructure for people which all together are supported by transport systems.
Traditionally, the focus of transport system has been on passengers as cities were looked as locations
of maximum human interactions with each other with intricate traffic patterns linked to commuting,
commercial transactions and cultural/leisure activities. But today, cities are also place of production,
consumption and distribution, due to which the focus of transport system has also got redefined. In a
larger city, the complexity of transportation increases manifolds because of the modes involved, the
large number of origins and destinations, the amount and variety of traffic and the possibility of
interference, particularly when this complexity is not managed effectively. As quoted by Rodrigue, J P
(2013), the most important transport problems are often related to urban areas and take place where
transport systems fails to satisfy the various requirements of urban mobility because of several
reasons. Productivity of any urban area is highly dependent on its transport system and also its
efficiency to regulate goods, workers and consumers between multiple origins and destinations .
Objective The objective of this paper is to understand the modes of road transportation, the role of
road transportation in urban areas, the role of transportation infrastructure in

Threats Against Big Companies And People Across The World
Threats against big companies and people across the world isn t a trending topic. A lack of protection
from within the platforms can create internal, external, and political problems for people and business
companies. Internally, hackers try to compromise computers and gather sensitive information from the
inside as if it was their private property. Externally, hackers gather information for their own personal
gain and to pose a great threat from outside of the business or person s home because they can find
access into the system a lot easier with new advanced technology. Over time, computer hacking has
grown into something that is essentially a worldwide problem in countries like North Korea, Russia,
the United States, and China that is. Overall, some these countries are trying to eliminate and capture
hackers and produce a stronger more secure based program for all of the computer platforms. The
literature points out that the only way of fixing the problem with hackers is to invest much more
money into producing a more secure security system for all platforms that is basically impossible to
decode or enter the program.
The six sources I examined on this topic agreed on many aspects. The first way that they corroborated
each other was on the issue that companies have a lack of secure security among the platforms. Myra
Din (2015) wrote an article called Breaching and Entering: When Data Scraping Should be a Federal
Computer Hacking Crime. In this study, she notes that

Metaphors In Refugee Blues
Hailing from England, W.H. Auden was a pre eminent literary writer during the 20th century, whose
poetry typically reflected his standpoint on politically torn countries. Throughout the latter half of the
1930 s, Auden s poems were a form of protest against tyrannical dictators such as Hitler and their
murderous policies. As a result, this ideology heavily influenced his work on the highly acclaimed
Refugee Blues. Moreover, as he himself had been fleeing from the threat of the Second World War,
perhaps we could remember that just as the Jews were being left without a home, Auden was also
under fire for going to the U.S, and was effectively a refugee himself. Written in 1939, Auden
concentrates on the German Jews at the time, though the poem ... Show more content on

Saw a poodle...fastened with a pin, Saw a door open and a cat let in W.H. Auden juxtaposes the two
animals: cats and dogs. Yet, both share one commonality: they are invited into people s homes.
Furthermore both animals are shown to have received what they wanted, the poodle, who has
connotations with royalty, gets a pin, and the cat, who desires freedom, can enter and leave as it
pleases. On the contrary, nobody is willing to welcome refugees or offer them anything, nor are they
willing to extend their love towards them. Auden intentionally uses juxtaposition as a means of
communicating the situation, in order to focus on the injustice and maltreatment the Jews had
ungrouped. Furthermore, this stanza additionally demonstrates another linguistic

Billy was about to pick up the tea but then he lost his appetite and sat the cup down. Then he asked the
Landlady to excuse him and went up to his room to get a head start on sleeping. Once he got to his
room Billy changed into his nightgown got a glass of water. He took a sip put the glass on the table
and laid down on the bed. Then he started to think about how the Landlady was acting. His brain
started to tingle and as he laid there he realized it, but then he started to get sleepy. Then all of a
sudden he fell asleep. Once he awoke he looked around when he saw his door close. He changed back

Thematic content analysis was used in order to be able to draw conclusions from the qualitative data
from the interviews and document review (DeSantis Noel Ugarriza, 2000). Qualitative content
analysis is defined as: a research method for the subjective interpretation of the content of text data
through the systematic classification process of coding and identifying themes or patterns (Hsieh
Shannon, 2005, p.1278). This means that the data input is evaluated to search for patterns that extend
across the data and coded into categories in order to develop data interpretations (Vaismoradi,
Turunen, Bondas, 2013). For this purpose ATLAS.ti was used to analyse the qualitative data findings.
Codes were first prepared in accordance with the theoretical framework (for this framework see
Appendix B) (Braun Clarke, 2006). ATLAS.ti was used for assigning open codes as well as to create
coding memos. Codes and themes were analysed and related to theory formulation (see Appendix C
for the code book that was used in ATLAS.ti) (for a review and practical guide to using qualitative
data analysis see Hwang, 2008). For each code, an output was created. This output consists of a file in
which all the quotations of a certain code to be put one after the other, these are the passages that are
encoded from all the transcripts. This output file then gives a quick

Persuasive Essay On Horse Slaughter
An ongoing ethical debate in America is whether horse slaughter should be legalized in the United
States. This debate grabs the emotions of many individuals and arises many questions. Horses are
normally considered companions that are used for labor and events. Isn t it inhumane to kill a
companion? Aren t there enough homes for our furry companions? In all reality horses are expensive
animals and aren t always used for their breeding purposes. Humane societies/rescues barely have
enough room for neglected small animals, bringing in larger mammals is not plausible. Saving every
animal will cause an overpopulation problem and increase the rate of neglect. Horses are being
neglected, starved, abused, and even shipped across the country, banning slaughter houses is the truly
the inhumane route. Slaughtering isn t an easy alternative, but allowing them to suffer isn t any better.
The economy today is slowly dwindling down, and the costs are rising for daily living expenses.
Horses are normally not in the budget for many families, leaving many horses homeless. The normal
yearly cost for a horse is around 2,419 3,876 and the average life span of a horse is 25 30 years. This
cost just covers food, routine vet checks, farrier, and general maintenance. This does not include the
price of the horse, the chance of having an emergency vet call arise and the tack that may be used.
This animal must eat about 2.5% its own body weight which on average is 1,100 pounds. Grain and

Oil-Filled Radiator Heater Review
Some may say that oil filled radiator heaters are old fashioned. Yes, they look a bit old fashioned but
where it loses on looks is more than made up by its energy efficiency. Oil filled radiator heaters are

heaters doesn t have exposed heating elements which decreases the chance of causing fire. Fan heaters
are dust magnets, but oil heaters don t kick up dust. It still retains the heat even after it is turned off.

Delonghi EW7707CM Oil Filled Radiator Heater User Review Best Home Ideas Recommendation
Level : High Delonghi EW7707CM does a fairly good job of heating up room spaces. It has got 3
settings for operation, High, Medium and Minimum. Don t expect instant heat with an oil filled heater.
It will take some time to get the room heated, especially when it is really cold. The heater still
generates good amount of heat even when the thermostats are turned off. You don t need to refill the
oil as well. It is easy to move around as it weighs just around 23 pounds. Electric and ceramic heaters
dry the room air, but Delonghi EW7707CM which is a radiator heater keeps the moisture in tact,
which is a huge advantage.According to Delonghi, their patented thermal chimneys reduce surface
heat much better than other space heaters. The heater does get warm even with the patented thermal
chimneys, so it will be better to keep it away from the reach of children (especially those curious
ones). Pros Energy efficient Silent Heats well

Sherman s Part In The Atlanta Campaign
During the 1860s, the United States was divided during a time known as the American Civil War. One
of the most bloodiest wars of all time. Although the Union cavalry was well manned and well
equipped, the improper placement and deficient senior leadership caused the union to have an
unsuccessful and detrimental part in the Atlanta Campaign. U.S. General Sherman halted the offensive
while he resupplied his army and repaired the railroad from Kingston to Acworth. This was a good
move on Sherman s part. On June 14, the first day of sun after eleven days of rain, Sherman made a
personal reconnaissance of the Pine Mountain are to determine how to dislodge Johnston without
attacking the confederate fortified position on Pine Mountain, one mile in advance of the confederate
main line, occupied by CS General Bate s Division (Atlanta Campaign 1). When Sherman spotted a
group of confederates on the mountain, he commented, How saucy they are. He ordered three volleys
fired at the group, which included Johnston, CS General Hardee, and CS General Polk. The fire from
the 5th Indiana Battery killed Polk. On June 15, the XX Corps attacked the confederate center at

Southerners perhaps faced inevitable defeat. On July 10, the Yankees crossed the Chattahoochee
River, forcing the Rebels to abandon their works North of the stream. The Chattahoochee was the last
natural barrier between Sherman s troops and Atlanta, which lay 6 miles from the river. Throughout
these weeks, Davis and Johnston exchanged numerous telegrams concerning the conduct of the
campaign. Neither man liked the other (Wert

Nissan s Theory Of Sustainability
Business operational sustainability is a method used to evaluate businesses and their ability to
continue using existing practices without putting the business and its resources at risk. Sustainability is
the ability to meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to
meet their own needs. There are three theories that relate to Nissan and their sustainability. They are
the just in time theory, the Toyota production theory and the lean concept. The just in time (JIT)
inventory management is the process of ordering and receiving inventory for production and customer
sales only as it is needed and not before. This means that the company does not hold safety stock and
operates with low inventory levels. This strategy helps companies lower their inventory carrying costs
by increasing efficiency and decreasing waste. Waste is anything that does not add value. The Toyota
Production System (TPS) is the culmination of the company s dedication to continuous improvement.

Persuasive Essay On Watch For Children
For most parents it is easy to make the common mistake of not providing enough attention to their
kids, especially in large places such as Disney World in Orlando, Florida. Kids are easily distracted
and in matter of seconds they will run off their parent s sight which is where it is possible for the kids
to end up lost. I believe kids as well as parent should take more responsibility when it comes to family
trips, therefore parents should stress more to their children about the dangers of populated locations.
When I was a kid I had a terrible experience at Disney world. When I was about eight years old my
family took me to Disney World which is where I was lost and I was scared for over half the day. I had
no clue that going to that trip would turn out to be my worst nightmare. As a result, it is important to
be in watch for children and parents should be extra careful when it comes to keeping an eye out for
their kids. For kids, being lost in Disney World can be frightening, or life threatening therefore, it is
vital for parents to always be on watch for their children.
On the way over to Orlando, Florida where Disney world is located, I could almost count the minutes
to be there. I was impatient to be there already. As a child, me and my close friends would get together
and watch cartoons right after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays. From that point on I developed an
enthusiasm for some Disney characters and hoped to one day visit Disney World and live the full

Major Gifts Essay
Securing major gifts is important to almost every organization (Hodge, n.d., p.1). These gifts assist
organizations in ensuring the success of both annual and capital campaigns (Hodge, n.d., p.1). They
not only account for most of the donation to a campaign, but they can also serve as a lead gift, which
gets other people interested in donating to the cause. Without major gifts, organizations would be
doomed, therefore organizations need to ensure that they have the staff, resources, and training in
place to allow for successful solicitations.
If I was asked to make a major gift solicitation next week, I would feel very nervous. As a historically
shy individual, conversing with others in an articulate manner has always been a struggle of ... Show

After a lot of preparation and practice, I will no longer need the script, and I will be able to approach
the solicitation with confidence.
To enhance my confidence even further, having a relationship with the potential benefactor would be
ideal. At this stage in the relationship, most of my shyness will no longer be evident, as I would know
the potential benefactor very well. After gaining an adequate level of confidence and comfort to be
able to successfully solicit the major gift I would arrange a meeting with the potential benefactor.
In setting up the meeting, I would be sure to express that the purpose of the meeting is for us to, invite
their philanthropic support for an important organizational project (Hodge, n.d., p.12). Also, the ideal
meeting location would either the home of the potential benefactor or the donor s place of business,
whichever potential benefactor is more comfortable with (Hodge, n.d., p.12).
At the meeting, we will begin with casual conversation as a way to show our interest in the potential
benefactor, but to also calm some of my nerves. After a bit of conversation, we will introduce the
reason for the meeting (Dove, n.d., p.11). First, we will clearly explain the project and the benefits that
their support will provide our clients, along with some of our personal stories/commitments that
highlight our passion for the cause (Hodge, n.d., p. 13). Throughout our

  • 2. Fatalism In The Radical Durkheim And C. W. Mills This is evident in Frank Pearce s chapter Fatalism in The Radical Durkheim and C. W. Mills chapter The Promise in The Sociological Imagination as both men place great emphasis on the fact that our awareness of our everyday lives affect how we behave and react to daily stressors. However, Pearce s Durkheimianism exceeds what Mill s calls the sociological imagination by demonstrating that all walks of life suffer no matter their employment or social ranking, but in very different ways. Additionally, Pearce s explanation on fatalism furthers this point by insisting that our personal experiences are predetermined due to the greater society in which we live in; thus, the outcome becomes unavoidable (Pearce 2013:126). For this reason, I contend ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Plasma Membrane Lab Report The Effects of Temperature and Detergent on the Plasma Membrane Introduction The Effects of Temperature and Detergent on the Plasma Membrane Introduction The fluid mosaic model developed by S.J Singer and Garth Nicolson in 1972 explains the structure of the membrane. It shows this through the explanation of the phospholipid bilayer which contains hydrophobic tails and a hydrophilic heads as well as the peripheral and integral proteins which help to hold the structure. The fluid mosaic model also says how the membrane is in a fluid form rather than solid because of the constant movement within the membrane (Biology Online, 2008). The cell membrane is a semi permeable protective layer which protects the cell from the outside environment by only allowing in and out of the cell only what is needed in order to survive. The cells that make up the red beetroot contain a compound called betacyanin which is the cause for the red pigment of the beetroot (Carter Edwards, 2011). The betacyanin is found within the vacuoles of the cell and is soluble in water (Cellular membrane structure and function, n.d.). The proteins within the membrane of the cell denature when subjected to high temperatures which causes the membrane to break apart allowing the betacyanin within the cell to release causing a red pigment to release from the beetroot. The higher the temperature and the longer at which the beetroot is exposed to it, causes more pigment to release ( Beetroot Cell ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Examples Of Classism In The Outsiders Classism was a big part of the 60s and with Ponyboy and the gang, it comes into play in more than one way. The Outsiders, based in the 1960s Oklahoma, is about two gangs, the Greasers and the Socials. The Greasers were lower class, lower income people who were relatively rough around the edges while the Socials were the West side rich kids who went around getting drunk and jumping Greasers. The book is about the conflicts that these two groups have, either with each other or inside of their own group. In S.E. Hinton s novel, The Outsiders, many of the conflicts and hardships in the community are caused by the Socials (Socs). The killing of Bob had many different sides but from the side of the Greasers, it was what they had to do. One example of this was that Johnny was justified in killing Bob. In the text it states, They were drowning you, Pony. They might have killed you (pg. 50 pdf). This shows that Johnny killed the Bob in self defense and that if they hadn t been drowning Pony, he probably wouldn t have done it. The text explains, Johnny getting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, the Socials were responsible for starting the rumble. The text states, Darry turned to see who it was, and Paul swung a hard right to the jaw that would have felled anyone but Darry. The rumble was on (pg. 122 pdf). This shows that the first shot of the rumble was taken by a Soc so therefor, they were the ones who started the rumble. Another example would be that the Socials were responsible for Johnny s death. The text also states, I held him like Soda had held him the day we found him lying in the lot (pg. 64 pdf). If you look in the book, you will see that none of what happened would have happened if it hadn t been for the Socs trying to beat up Johnny and Ponyboy. It really wouldn t have been possible to prevent the rumble or Johnny s death, especially with the Socs in the situation that they are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Essay on Chaos Theory Explained Chaos Theory Explained Traditionally, scientists have looked for the simplest view of the world around us. Now, mathematics and computer powers have produced a theory that helps researchers to understand the complexities of nature. The theory of chaos touches all disciplines. Ian Percival, The Essence of Chaos Part I: The Basics of Chaos. Watch a leaf flow down stream; watch its behavior within the water... Perhaps it will sit upon the surface, gently twirling along with the current, dancing around eddies, slightly spinning, then all of a sudden, it slaps into a rock or gets sucked beneath the water by a small whirlpool. After doing this enough times one will realize it is nearly impossible to accurately ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the last years of the 19th century French mathematician, physicist and philosopher Henri Poincare stumbled headlong into chaos with a realization that the reductionism method may be illusory in nature. He was studying his chosen field at the time; a field he called the mathematics of closed systems the epitome of Newtonian physics. A Closed system is one made up of just a few interacting bodies sealed off from outside contamination. According to classical physics, such systems are perfectly orderly and predictable. A simple pendulum in a vacuum, free of friction and air resistance will conserve its energy. The pendulum will swing back and forth for all eternity. It will not be subject to the dissipation of entropy, which eats its way into systems by causing them to give up their energy to the surrounding environment. Classical scientists were convinced that any randomness and chaos disturbing a system such as a pendulum in a vacuum or the revolving planets could only come from outside chance contingencies. Barring those, pendulum and planets must continue forever, unvarying in their courses.2 It was this comfortable picture of nature that Poincare blew apart when he attempted to determine The stability of our solar system... • 6. How Branding Influences Consumers Luxury Fashion Choices When given a choice between a pair of Prada shoes or a pair of Puma shoes, consumers are aware that both products will provide sufficient comfort and protection to their feet. Yet, when asked in a recent visual survey, which shoe they would choose to buy, 76% of people chose the Prada brand shoe (Appendix p. 1). Given that both shoes can achieve the same purpose, one asks why have so many people chosen that particular brand of shoe over the other? When contemplating the alternative brands of each shoe, it could be suggested that effective branding has enticed consumers to prefer the Prada shoe? The following essay will discuss how branding influences consumers luxury fashion choices. Bain and Company (D Arpizio et al, 2014) state that the market for personal luxury goods has nearly tripled in the past 20 years (p. 7), with the industry reflecting healthy growth by exceeding €850 billion in 2014 (p. 3). It is evident that luxury consumption is a thriving industry. Despite the fact that prices of luxury goods has risen over 60 percent in a decade, consumers are still choosing to purchase such items (Sherman, 2014). Prada, Chanel and Louis Vuitton are recognized as luxury brand goods (Okonkwo, 2007, pp. 45 47), yet there is much deliberation about the definition of luxury. Bearden and Etzel (1982, p. 184) define luxury as something that is more than necessary , Webster states that it is something adding to pleasure or comfort but not absolutely necessary (2004, p. ... • 7. A Brief Note On The And The Russian Conflict Novorossiya is a confederation that emerged during and because of the current Ukrainian Conflict. Also known as New Russia or Union of People s Republics, it consists of the self proclaimed Donetsk People s Republic and Luhansk People s Republic. It was founded on 24 May 2014 by the signing behind closed doors of the agreements between self appointed leaders of the two People s Republics. Neither Donetsk People s Republic nor Luhansk People s Republic are recognized as a sovereign states by any country or intergovernmental organizations and institutions. Russia, too, despite its support to the cause, has never officially referred to Novorossiya as a confederation. Both of the People s Republics, however, are classified as terrorist ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Looking back, once you add all of those factors, it seems that the emergence of the crisis should not have come as any type of surprise, but it did. Although now, with foresight, it is easy to say that the rise of the crisis was predictable and inevitable, no one, at the time, expected events to develop as they did. To be able to fully understand the purpose and the actions of the Novorossiya terrorist groups, one must first understand what caused the Ukrainian Conflict to erupt and the many developments that happened thereafter. Ukrainian Russian relationship and history Historically, Russia and Ukraine have had a close and complex relationship, which is important to understand before making any type of judgments on why the current Conflict evolved as it did. Although, it is wrong to say that this relationship had always been a peaceful one, the countries have constantly been closely intervened. Their common history dates back to the Kievan Rus (882 1240), which is considered the beginning of the Russian Nation but was geographically located on what is now Ukrainian land, and more specifically Ukraine s capital Kiev. Between those who support gun rights, and those who argue against them, and in favor of harsher gun control laws. It has shown and proven to be one of the most argued and debated issues in our society today. Understanding the exact meaning of our 2nd amendments right plays a major role in the arguments of either side. Being that each side reads, or understands its meaning differently. • 9. Pros And Cons Of Exercise Eminent Domain Although eminent domain is sometimes necessary, there should be limits placed on it to ensure that individual property rights are never trampled on. This essay will explain at what times government officials should have the right to exercise eminent domain, the extent of which the current occupant should be satisfactorily compensated, and an engineer s duty to the public to only accept projects where the previous property owners are content in the arrangements of their dismissal. The government should exercise eminent domain cautiously to ensure that individual property rights are seldom taken away. In 2005, the ruling of Kelo v. City of New London allowed state and local governments to take private property and transfer it to other private owners to promote economic development (Somin 1). The promotion of economic development, however, is not sound reasoning to transfer private property from one private owner to the next. The only instance when this may be acceptable is when the property in mention is no longer in use. Some examples include ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to Texas law, the landowner [should] be compensated for the portion of the property actually taken and the damage to the landowner s remaining property (Ellis 6). This compensation includes but is not limited to, costs of finding and establishing a new location, costs for advertising a new location and the costs required to model the new area to suit the individual s needs. • 10. Video Games Can Be Good For People The debate has started ever since there were tests when the first console has been released to take home and play in the living room. Ever since then scientists study them to find out if video games are bad for a person s health, and if playing them for an excessive amount of time has a change in one s health. The tests that researchers study will inform people about gaming and how it changes their health, but there will still be millions of people playing video games. There are many people who love to play and even play video games for a living, but there are many people who disagree with video games. Many of the people who disagree with video games are mainly parents who see their kids playing them, but there are more than just parents who do not like them. There are many other disagreements about video games that people think harm someone s health and relationships. I think video games can be good for people and that they can even relieve stress to a point, but anyone playing video games needs to know when to take a break or stop playing. Many people who do not like video games because they are too violent only see the violent games and not much more. It is usually the parents who buy their kid a game and do not realize that it is too violent and then they hate the video games. I agree that video games should not be played by kids, but that is why there is a game rating. This game rating shows what ages are recommended for playing specific games, it even shows what is ... Angel Raich is a California resident who has a medical condition that causes her to be in excruciating pain. Angel s physician had tried numerous treatments and medicines to help her with the pain, but nothing has seemed to work. In 1996 voters in the State of California voted that the use of marijuana for medicinal purposes should be legal. In November 1996 the law was put into use. The high ruling of the case decided that she was guilty until further pressed when the Ninth circuit, then ruled that the medicinal use of marijuana did not substantially affect intrastate commerce and that Congress had no ruling in this case. I agree with the ending decision of the case. It is my opinion that if a physician prescribes a prescription that is helping cure the problem, then it should be the patients right to take these actions to survive. In today s society the legalization of medicinal use of marijuana is becoming more common amongst the states. There are 24 states that recognize and accept patient registry or ID cards for medicinal use. Out of these 24 states, California is the only state to not have a specification on the condition you have to have to get prescribed a patient ID. Epilepsy is the main condition that the other 23 states recognize as a condition worthy of prescribing the use of medicinal cards. Of the 24 states only Colorado and Washington allow citizens to use the drug recreationally. One of the main supporting arguments held for legalizing marijuana was that by taxing the drug it would bring in budgets for things such as money needed for schools, also much needed money in the health care field. It also would give the opportunity to free up police resources. One valid point was that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

My book, The Wright Brothers by Charles Ludwig, takes us back to where it all began. The book describes where Orville and Wilbur Wright lived, believed in ,and where they first came up with the idea of the airplane. The author also added the struggles they went through and how they solved them. There are two main characters to this book,Wilbur Wright and Orville wright. Wilbur and Orville were two inventors. Their biggest invention was the world s first successful airplane. Wilbur Wright was born April 16, 1867 on a farm near Melville, Indiana. Orville Wright was born August 19, 1871 in Dayton, Ohio. Wilbur and Orville discovered they wanted to be inventors when their dad, Bishop Milton Wright, brought them back an invention that could fly up if you twisted the screws. In 1881, the Wright family moved to Richmond, Indiana. In Richmond Orville developed a love of kites, and soon began making his own at home. Wilbur Wright was a bright and studious student. Mobile Payments Are Becoming An Upcoming New Trend Chan, Kendra 007192003 Kendraa.chan@gmail.com Bus 188 S01 Wireless Payment Wallet Share December 1, 2014 Mobile payments are becoming an upcoming new trend when it comes to technology. Mobile payments allow its users to pay for their daily needs with their phone without having to carry cash, let alone, their wallets around. However, the United States has been delaying the adaptation of mobile payments due to the fact that many different retailers have developed their own form of mobile payments as opposed to a universal approach. While many countries in Europe and Asia have successfully adopted mobile payments, United States still are behind in the trend. Introduction: As technology grows, so do the consumers. Consumers rely so much on easy shopping and simplified checking out possibilities that application developers have started to develop more mobile payment applications. These mobile payments are the technology of the future and yet the United States is still lagging behind in the rush to simplify shopping from a plastic card to a mobile app. However, with such developers from Apple and Google, there are applications where the mobile phone can stand as a wallet, but retailors do not necessarily choose a universal application to use. With Apple Pay and Google Wallet actively used, many retailors have opted to convert their merchandise to be payable with such applications . • 15. A Case Of Statutes Trumping Common Law This is a case of statutes trumping Common Law. The seller would allege that there was a mistake in the advertisement and that, as advertisements are not offer, no contract was formed. This is a mistake, as the facts demonstrate; New Jersey Vehicle Code § 4251 trumps the common law practices of offers and mistakes. Lonergan v. Scolnick tells us that advertisements are simply manifestations of willingness to enter into a bargain, but are not meant to justify another person in understanding that his assent to that bargain is invited and will conclude it, as offers do (Restatement 2nd §24). Therefore, the advertisement is not considered to be an offer to sell the vehicle at the stated price. Under Common Law, ABC Motors would be able to refuse to sell the car at the mistaken price of $25,000. However, in New Jersey, advertisements for the sale of automobiles are governed by a statute, New Jersey Vehicle Code § 4251, stating, A dealer of automobiles in this state may not decline or refuse to sell an automobile to any person at an advertised price while the vehicle remains unsold, unless the advertisement states the advertised total price is good for only a specified period of time and that time has elapsed. As this statute would trump the common law practice of advertisements not being offers, ABC Motors advertisement is considered an offer that cannot be revoked while the vehicle remains unsold and the expiration of the offer has not lapsed. The causes of autism are somewhat a mystery. Many blame genetics and environmental causes. Researchers of autism reason that it is so hard to define the cause because it is not a single disorder, but a spectrum of disorders. Genetic factors are the most significant cause for autism spectrum disorders. Early studies of twins found the average concordance for identical twins to be 70% and estimated heritability to be over 90%, in other words, that genetics explains over 90% of whether a child will develop autism. Many of the non autistic co twins had learning or social disabilities. For adult siblings the risk for having one or more features of the broader autism phenotype might be as high as 30%. ... • 17. Mayall s Object (Arp 148) Mayall s object (also known as Arp 148) is the stunning result of an encounter between two galaxies resulting in a ring shaped galaxy and a long tailed companion, located almost 465 million light years away within the constellation Ursa Major. The pair extends across 80 thousand light years. The collision between the two parent galaxies produced a shockwave effect that first drew matter into the center and then caused it to propagate outwards in a ring. The elongated companion perpendicular to the ring suggests that Arp 148 offers a unique view of a collision in progress. What probably has been the core of the target galaxy can be seen as a small yellow area at 5 o clock inside the newly formed ring. Massive star formation dominates the ring. • 21. The Five Transcontinental Railroads Case Study Hannah Mendoza Question one: The railroads were a brilliant and expensive project. They spread all the way from California to Florida and helped move around raw materials, agriculture, and stimulated mining. The railroads were so expensive, but with the help of private banks, who were a little reluctant, and land grants from Congress they were able to build them. Due to private banks being a little fearful that railroad companies couldn t pay them back in a fashionable time Congress decided to step in and give land grants for them to sell. This was a win win situation because they got money to pay the bank back and it helped improve settlement in the West. They helped with four of the five transcontinental railroads. Question two: A few things happened that made people criticize John Rockefeller and Standard Oil. Some of these were accusations and one of them was the thought that John Rockefeller was involved in trying to get rid of his competitors and predatory pricing. It is said that he was trying to gain a monopoly in the railroad industry. Another accusation was that he bribed other men to spy on his competitors and made secret agreements. Standard Oil was made up of a variety of companies and they controlled a majority of the pipelines and refineries. Congress attempted to stop this monopoly from forming by passing the Sherman Antitrust Act that forbade combinations and trusts in business. Question three: In the election of 1888 tariffs were a major discussion. The import taxes were high, but not everyone backed them. The businesses didn t like that Grover Cleveland, a Democrat, said that high tariffs were wrong and that he wanted to lower them. The Republicans argued against Cleveland and didn t think that the tariffs should be lowered. They believed that with the tariff there was potential to produce a national coalition opposing the Democrats in the South. This ideology that they had before the election had bad outcomes that were realised afterwards. Once they raised the tariff caused people to criticize them and protest, they realized their mistake. Due to this mistake the Democrats won the next election changing the Republicans views. Question four: A lot of people supported bimetallism. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 23. Transport Systems And Transportation Systems Introduction Cities are places which have huge amount of gathering of people, collection of economic activities and complex infrastructure for people which all together are supported by transport systems. Traditionally, the focus of transport system has been on passengers as cities were looked as locations of maximum human interactions with each other with intricate traffic patterns linked to commuting, commercial transactions and cultural/leisure activities. But today, cities are also place of production, consumption and distribution, due to which the focus of transport system has also got redefined. In a larger city, the complexity of transportation increases manifolds because of the modes involved, the large number of origins and destinations, the amount and variety of traffic and the possibility of interference, particularly when this complexity is not managed effectively. As quoted by Rodrigue, J P (2013), the most important transport problems are often related to urban areas and take place where transport systems fails to satisfy the various requirements of urban mobility because of several reasons. Productivity of any urban area is highly dependent on its transport system and also its efficiency to regulate goods, workers and consumers between multiple origins and destinations . A lack of protection from within the platforms can create internal, external, and political problems for people and business companies. Internally, hackers try to compromise computers and gather sensitive information from the inside as if it was their private property. Externally, hackers gather information for their own personal gain and to pose a great threat from outside of the business or person s home because they can find access into the system a lot easier with new advanced technology. Over time, computer hacking has grown into something that is essentially a worldwide problem in countries like North Korea, Russia, the United States, and China that is. Overall, some these countries are trying to eliminate and capture hackers and produce a stronger more secure based program for all of the computer platforms. The literature points out that the only way of fixing the problem with hackers is to invest much more money into producing a more secure security system for all platforms that is basically impossible to decode or enter the program. The six sources I examined on this topic agreed on many aspects. The first way that they corroborated each other was on the issue that companies have a lack of secure security among the platforms. Auden was a pre eminent literary writer during the 20th century, whose poetry typically reflected his standpoint on politically torn countries. Throughout the latter half of the 1930 s, Auden s poems were a form of protest against tyrannical dictators such as Hitler and their murderous policies. As a result, this ideology heavily influenced his work on the highly acclaimed Refugee Blues. Moreover, as he himself had been fleeing from the threat of the Second World War, perhaps we could remember that just as the Jews were being left without a home, Auden was also under fire for going to the U.S, and was effectively a refugee himself. Qualitative content analysis is defined as: a research method for the subjective interpretation of the content of text data through the systematic classification process of coding and identifying themes or patterns (Hsieh Shannon, 2005, p.1278). This means that the data input is evaluated to search for patterns that extend across the data and coded into categories in order to develop data interpretations (Vaismoradi, Turunen, Bondas, 2013). For this purpose ATLAS.ti was used to analyse the qualitative data findings. ATLAS.ti was used for assigning open codes as well as to create coding memos. Codes and themes were analysed and related to theory formulation (see Appendix C for the code book that was used in ATLAS.ti) (for a review and practical guide to using qualitative data analysis see Hwang, 2008). This debate grabs the emotions of many individuals and arises many questions. Horses are normally considered companions that are used for labor and events. Isn t it inhumane to kill a companion? Aren t there enough homes for our furry companions? In all reality horses are expensive animals and aren t always used for their breeding purposes. Humane societies/rescues barely have enough room for neglected small animals, bringing in larger mammals is not plausible. Slaughtering isn t an easy alternative, but allowing them to suffer isn t any better. The economy today is slowly dwindling down, and the costs are rising for daily living expenses. Horses are normally not in the budget for many families, leaving many horses homeless. The normal yearly cost for a horse is around 2,419 3,876 and the average life span of a horse is 25 30 years. This cost just covers food, routine vet checks, farrier, and general maintenance.
