SWOT Analysis of GE
STRENGTHS
Global recognition: General Electric has ventured into the world market thus gaining global
recognition for its unique goods and services. In the year 2009, Forbes magazine ranked GE as the
world s largest company. Hurbert (2007) notes that General Electric s brand is the world s most
recognized brand. This kind of recognition has given it a competitive edge over other companies due
to its ability to attract more customers.
Global strength and competitiveness:The Company s products have been recognized for their quality
and the company is known for meeting customer specific needs (General Electric, 2009). As a result, it

Information security:When it comes to information security, every company faces a threat of losing
important information through hackers, natural disasters and employee dishonesty. Loss of
information could greatly affect the company s activities and cause a slow down in production.
Financial crisis: The global financial crisis has had an effect on most companies in the world today.
The rises in prices and shrinking bank lending rates have deprived businesses of the much needed
profits and capital respectively.
Media depictions: Depictions put forth by the media on certain occurrences about a company could
ruin its operations. GE has been a victim of media deception and was associated with the Enron
scandal which brought a lot of criticism and loss of investor confidence. The documentary named
deadly deception aired in 1991 displayed GE as a threat to human life for participating in testing and
building of nuclear weapons (Chasnoff, 1991). Such depictions could be used by competitors to
tarnish the company s name.
Evaluation and Analysis
It is notable that GE has a number of strengths that work to its advantage by enhancing profitability.
Its global recognition, strengths and competitiveness put GE at a favorable position as compared to
other companies in the same sector. The use of business units for management presents an effective
way to manage the expansive company. This not only reduces the possibility of overwhelming senior

What Makes King Arthur An Intriguing Person
Everybody has their Great Qualities
In Analysis: What Made King Arthur an Intriguing Person
What are your qualities? Just like everyone King Arthur has his good and bad qualities. King Arthur s
good qualities is what makes him an intriguing person. King Arthur was a legendary ruler of Britain
whose life and deeds became the basis for a collection of tales known as the Arthurian legends. As the
leading figure in British mythology, King Arthur is a national hero and a symbol of Britain s heroic
heritage. But his appeal is not limited to Britain. The Arthurian story, with its elements of mystery,
magic, love, war, adventure, betrayal, chivalry, and fate, has touched the popular imagination and has
become part of the world s shared mythology. King Arthur was born somewhere in the misty region
where history and imagination meet (Gale Student Resources). The legend of King Arthur may have
been based on the life of one or more Celtic warriors who fought the Anglo Saxon invaders of
England in the late fifth and early sixth centuries. The Britons, the island s ... Show more content on

King Arthur never gave up hope on his kingdom, Guinevere, or his son. King Arthur fought to the
very end. After King Arthur got struck by lightning he never gave up hope that his knights would
fulfill the quest to find the Holy Grail (Karl). This selection begins after King Arthur has traveled to
France at the insistence of his nephew, Gawain, to besiege his former friend and knight, Lancelot, for
his involvement with Queen Guinevere. However, the king s attempts to punish Lancelot are
halfhearted, and he is soon forced to abandon them altogether when he learns that his illegitimate son,
Mordred, has seized control of England. Arthur leads his forces back to England, and Mordred attacks
then upon their landing. Gawain is killed in the fighting, but before he dies, he manages to send word
to Lancelot that Arthur is in need of his assistance (page

Modern Transformers And Electric Power Systems
Large power modern transformers are vital components and very expensive in electric power systems.
Forthwith, it is very important to reduce the duration and frequency of unwanted outages that results
in a high demand imposed on power transformer protection relays, this includes the requirements of
dependability related with no mal operations, operating speed related with short fault clearing time to
avoid extensive damage or to preserve power quality and power system stability and security related
with no false tripping.
Discrimination between inrush currents and internal faults has long been known as a challenging
power transformer protection problem. Otherwise, inrush currents contain large second harmonic
component compared to internal faults, conventional transformer protection are designed to achieve
required discrimination by sensing that large second harmonic content [1]. The level of second
harmonic component of the inrush current has been reduced due to improving in transformer core
material and occur power system changes. Additionally, a large second harmonic can also be found in
transformer internal fault currents if a shunt capacitor is connected to a transformer in a long extra
high voltage transmission line. Therefore, the methods based on the measurement of the second
harmonic are not sufficiently effective for differential protective relays [2].
Newly, several new protective schemes have been proposed to deal with the previous problem in large

Persuasive Essay For Year Round Education
Vote YES! To Year Round Education Though school might be a pain to some students, their health and
learning abilities can be effectively productive with year round education, or YRE. In contrast to the
U.S., Japan uses a 220 day year round school calendar, and Japanese students consistently test higher
than students in the United States ( Year Round School ). Putting students in YRE can help them in the
long run when it comes down to maintaining knowledge for the real world. YRE generally operates on
a 180 day schedule that includes a reduced summer vacation and frequent short breaks throughout the
school year (Chittom et al.). Failing tests and quizzes after coming back from breaks are the last thing
anyone wants to happen.
While attending schools that use balanced scheduling, the breaks that are implemented throughout the
school year may be shorter, but you get a broad variety of breaks for various occasions. YRE, or the
balanced calendar, helps to minimize the months worth of learning loss that students tend to
experience during a typical summer break (Chittom et al.). The focus of implementing a year round
school calendar is a convenient way to ignore larger problems concerning the educational system that
are not easily solved. Among year round education you retain more knowledge, get more breaks
throughout the year, and score higher and your assessments. The student health and learning abilities
are key to having success while getting classes done. With that being said, one of the most beneficial
points of year round education is student capability.
Though student benefits can be a broad range of subject, there are enough pros to cancel out the
equilibrium of the cons. Students socialization skills would be more likely to increase due to the
amount of days in the year. In YRE the students may be divided up into tracks. Single track students
and staff will go on vacations at the same time. Multi track is where a certain group/track of students
or staff take a vacation while others are at school. Matthew Lynch, from Education Week, stated The
main benefit with dividing schools in multi track and single track is for those who need extra or
remedial help. Students would be able to go back onto the

In solving this issue, the group should be more open to new ideas. My initial motivation towards the
group was purely intrinsic but on the long run it became extrinsic (became all about results.) as I did
not see the need to be intrinsically motivated when my contribution to the group during the first
presentation was totally discarded. The need theory wasn t properly taken into consideration in my
group as some people didn t care to know about what motivates others in the group. There were some
elements of the free rider effect because of some people feeling that their input to the group was the
best and no order input can be better than what they have offered. Carrying fellow group members
along, making them have a sense of responsibility and not always treating their contribution as not
worthy will solve the issue of the free rider effect in the group. As the expectancy theory suggests that
people will expend energy if they think it will pay off so despite all my negative observations about
the group, I was able to put all behind me because I wanted a very good outcome for the group. The
end goal of achieving excellence in the project was also a motivating factor within the group which
meant compromises had to be made to achieve

Renal Impairment Research Paper
CathyAnn, great post. You have made a great point about renal impairment and being precautious
when prescribing medication to elderly with CKD. Renal impairment can happen for numerous
different reasons, a few of the reasons that renal impairment can happen are diabetic nephropathy,
lupus, and aging (Burchum Rosenthal, 2016 Rull, 2016). With aging it is normal to have a decline in
renal function. For this patient particularly, it would be important to make sure that if there is any
medication that the nurse practitioner would be prescribing that would need to have renal dose
adjustment it would be important to do testing to see what kind of adjustments needed to be made.

Counterculture During the Vietnam Era Essay
Counterculture During the Vietnam Era
With a country in shambles as a result of the Vietnam War, thousands of young men and women took
their stand through rallies, protests, and concerts. A large number of young Americans opposed the
war; with a common feeling of anti war, thousands of youths united as one. This new culture of
opposition spread like wild fire with alternative lifestyles blossoming, people coming together and
reviving their communal efforts, demonstrated in the Woodstock Art and Music festival. The use of
drugs, mainly marijuana, became a staple in the community of anti war youths. The countercultures
radical views and actions caused American society to turn its head and look to the young. They set
themselves out as a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Groups such as the Chicago Seven, Students for a Democratic Society, and on a whole, a new term,
New Left, was given to the generation of the Sixties that was radicalized by social injustices, the civil
rights movement, and the war in Vietnam. One specific incident was when Richard Nixon appeared on
television to announce the invasion of Cambodia by the United States, and the need to draft 150,000
more soldiers. At Kent State University in Ohio, protestors launched a riot, which included fires,
injuries, and even death.1
Through the growth of the new youth s culture s open hostility to the values of middle class society
the counterculture was formed. America became more aware of its young generation. Through
protests, riots, and anti war demonstrations, they challenged the very structure of American Society,
and spoke out for what they believed in. Lisa Law stated her views; The counterculture was an attempt
to rebel against the values our parents had pushed on us. 1 From the days of Woodstock to today, our
fashion reflects the trends set in Woodstock. Trends such as long hair, tye dye, rock, and folk music
used as a form of expression for radical ideas and self expression.1 While these trends are not harmful,
others are; such as the extended use of marijuana, and the hallucinogen, LSD, which are still popular
with the youth today. Marijuana captivated the counterculture. Timothy Leary, psychologist writes,

Research Paper On Chromatography
Chromatography media selection
By Catherine Shaffer M.Sc.
Chromatography is a technique for separation of mixtures. The name combines the greek chroma, or
color, with graphein, to write. The technique was invented in 1900 by Mikhail Tsvet, who used it to
write the colors of plant pigments like chlorophyll carotenes, and xanthophylls. He did that by
dissolving the plant mixtures in a fluid, or mobile phase, and allowing it to flow through a solid
material called a stationary phase. The components of the mixture flow through the stationary phase
material at different rates, creating waves or bands. Originally, those bands were detected by visible
color differences. Detection methods are now based on the chemical and physical properties of the
molecules being separated, including but not limited to color, UV absorbance, size, charge, and
hydrophobicity.
In modern chromatographic separations, the stationary phase comes in the form of media, either pre
packed in a chromatography column, or added by the user to the separation apparatus. The choice of
media depends on the type of molecule being separated, the means of separation, the purpose and
scale of separation, and the desired purity of the separated sample.
Generally, the material used in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Color Blindness In The Phantom Of The Opera
Social justice is the equal distribution of resources and opportunities, in which outside factors that
categorize people are irrelevant (Pachamama Alliance). Inequality in gender, race, sexuality, religion,
and possessions remain potent. While many businesses are working toward creating equal and just
environments for all of their workers, many problems regarding race and gender still plague even the
21st century, and these efforts to combat injustice are not always readily and well received. Frequent
theatre goers may be unaware that even the entertainment industry deals with discrimination against
women and people of diverse backgrounds. Although on stage it may seem like new shows are
bursting with diversity, behind the scenes there ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Phantom of the Opera also issued a similar type of casting method when naming Norm Lewis as
the first black actor to play the Phantom. However, the idea of color blindness is not a problem on
stage so much as it is off stage. The biggest problem that many black playwrights and directors face is
not that their work is not being produced, but that the pieces written about black communities by
white men are often racist. Because much of white privilege doesn t have any interaction with
blackness they have a tendency to congregate around pathology, and only focusing on particular things
in the urban environment high crime, single parenthood, things like that and then they sort of tag that
as being the black experience (Nichloson). Properly representing a culture different than the
playwright s or producer s without being racist is a very tedious and difficult task which is why it is
very important to have diversity in a show s production team. Black people are needed on the creative
team of a show about a black community in order to have a fuller perspective of what black is, what
black story is, and what black voice is (Nichloson). American theatre has its definite struggles with
gender and racial injustices, but theatres in Britain are facing the same problems on an even greater

Religion, Money, And The Scientific Revolution
The modern world was created through many events such as Scientific Revolutions, factors such as
religion, money, and even the creation and fall of widely known empires. With these revolutions,
factors and institutions it shaped the world from the start to how we see the world now. One revolution
couldn t happen without the start of another down the road, and the fall of one empire would spark the
start of another. These are only a few reasons of how the modern world was created. The most
important ones that shaped the world we live in today are religion, money, and the Scientific
Revolution.
Religion can be defined as a system of human norms and values that is founded on a belief in a
superhuman order (p.210). Religion helped cultures define ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Without the evolution of money from shells and skills that people had we would not have bills and
coins and our trade would be limited greatly and this would not make us a modern world. A money
system needed to happen for the world to continue effectively. As well as the evolution of religion this
plays a big part in how we communicate with each other. If religion empires would have not been
conquered by people who believe in humanist religions we could possibly still be under a rule where
people have to summit to a certain religion. Lastly the Scientific Revolution was able to shape our
modern world for the best. The Scientific Revolution almost coincided with the Industrial Revolution
in that new technology emerged. It also created modern medicine which is vital to anyone in todays
world. Although it funded capitalist creed it was not such a bad thing because we need capital in our
world to keep finding new findings. People are not just going to go and explore unknown parts of the
world for free. Our modern world is a beautiful place even though some issues that occurred during
the formation of modernization the planet are still being worked on today.

Objectives Of The New Deal
The New Deal In 1929 the United States and the rest of the world were beginning to deal with the
Great Depression. During these hard times, many people believed that the federal government should
have a larger role in the economy. These beliefs led to the election of Franklin D. Roosevelt. In
President Roosevelts inaugural speech, (1933) he first used the great phrase, ...the only thing we have
to fear is fear itself... He needed to strengthen our nation and boost the confidence of the citizens. It is
because of these realities that Franklin D. Roosevelt and his advisors created The New Deal.
Key Objectives of The New Deal The New Deal was made up of three main objectives. These
objectives were relief, recovery, and reform. As a country, we needed relief and recovery from the
great depression. Unemployment was through the roof, farmers were struggling to succeed, and our
economy was in shambles. Agencies and programs were created to help alleviate these problems and
create jobs. Agencies were also created to reform industry and banking practices that had a large hand
on our path to The Great Depression.
Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) A great example of one of the relief programs would be the
Civilian Conservation Corps. The idea was to take young men and provide them jobs in forests,
infrastructure, and other public projects. This not only provided work for the young men and their
families, but also helped us rejuvenate our natural landscape. The Civilian

Music Education Importance
The Importance of Music Education
Plato the philosopher once said I would teach children music, physics, and philosophy; but most
importantly music, for the patterns in music and all the arts are the keys to learning. Funds have been
cut in more than 80 percent of U.S. school districts since 2008. The very first programs to go are often
disciplines such as music, art and foreign language. This is in order to create more funding for
Science, Technology, Engineering and Math programs, also known as STEM. Although STEM
programs in public education are important, schools should include more music education because, it
increases brain activity, increases creativity in problem solving, and improves test scores.
Increases in brain activity
Build more brain matter.
Music education can actually increase brain activity and growth. One of the major things that studying
music in school can do for the brain is to increase the white and gray matter in the brain. In an article
by Christopher Bergland outlining ten ways music education increases brain activity. He said this about
a case studied from the Journal of Neuroscience(2015)
The researchers found that people who began musical training early in life had stronger connections
between motor regions. When comparing brain structure, musicians who started early showed
enhanced white matter in the corpus callosum, a bundle of nerve fibres that connects the left and right
motor regions of the brain.

Morality and Dehumanization in One Day in the Life of...
The novel, One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich, presents moral issues, and daily dehumanization
of men living in a camp in Russia in 1951. Ivan Denisovich, the protagonist in the novel spoke out
against Stalin, and was then put in a prison camp because of it. The novel presents a terrible situation
in which Ivan must overcome daily circumstances, which only a person living in a prison camp would
know how to survive. The tone and mood of the novel are able to work together to show the theme of
the novel, that human self respect is achieved as long as one is still holding onto it. The extract that
was chosen occurs on the last page of the novel. Shukhov has just returned from being counted, and

An example of this is on lines one through five. Now they released you faster, for they were counting
one by one. The word you in the above quotation, shows how either Shukhov or the narrator may have
been speaking in the quotation; showing the free indirect discourse. The free indirect discourse helps
show the bleak tone of the novel. The bleak tone of the novel communicates the theme; human self
respect is achieved as long as one is still holding onto it. Because the tone is bleak, the theme is more
emphasized through Shukhovs actions of holding his self respect. Whether it may be by holding onto
items of sentimental purpose, or hoping for a letter from his family. The mood of the novel also fits in
with the bleak tone. The dreary mood is seen through the tone, but goes deeper and describes the
emotions portrayed throughout the novel. The last paragraphs of the novel, lines 40 45, show the
dreary mood of the novel. A day without a dark cloud. Almost a happy day. There were three thousand
six hundred and fifty three days like that in his stretch. The quotation continues on, but from this
quotation one is able to notice the irony in it. That it may have been a happy day, but there are still so
many days to come that it is impossible to tell what those days will bring. The dreary mood is thus
demonstrated from the quotation. The

The Silence And Serenity Of The St. Joseph s Abbey Property
From the moment that I stepped out of the car and onto the St. Joseph s Abbey property I noted that

of students walking out of Hogan and cars speeding by at Holy Cross and the silence of the monastery
apart from our group of students conversing with one another was particularly striking. This really
surprised me because it was unusual for me to be in such a calm and silent place and I instantly felt a

This reminded me of the humility and simplicity that governs monks lives and was outlined in the
Rule of Saint Benedict. Also, as we entered the church I noted that the seats faced each other, which I
thought was different from my own Catholic church where the pews face the front of the church. The
striking of the bells in the bell tower prompted the monks and other visitors to enter the church. The
order of the service consisted of readings from various scriptures. The first part of the prayer consisted
of the readings of the introductory verse, followed by the hymn of the Office of Holy Virgins, Psalm

Commemoration of the Blessed Virgin. Prior to entering the church for the service, Brother Francis
pointed out that Cistercian monasticism s prayer service was highly influenced by Gregorian chants.
Accordingly, the service consisted of a Gregorian chant like singing and the monks often stressed
syllables for long periods of time, which made it initially difficult to follow. Moreover, the chanting of
the prayers was accompanied by one of the monks playing an organ in a very repetitive pattern
consisting of only several notes. During the service there was a constant transition between standing
and sitting which occurred during the first reading and

Benefits Of Incarceration
In addition, politicians sometimes forget to mention to their people that incarcerating criminals is very
expensive. In Florida alone it cost taxpayers over $20,000 to incarcerate someone for a year; it cost the
United States over $32,000 dollars to incarcerate every inmate per year (CBS News, 2012). I believe
that some people deserve to be incarcerated but I don t believe even half of the people in prison

percent of the world s prisoners we incarcerate a greater percentage of our population than any

to get a better understanding of the Roe vs Wade court case, I will talk about the background before
the court case happened, I will describe the event that happened to cause the court case, I will analyze
the court case and the results and I will tell the impact that this case has had on United Sate s history.
Body
Let s talk about the events that led up to the court case being filed. The case involved an unmarried
pregnant woman, born Norma Leah Nelson on September 22, 1947, in the bayou country of
Lettesworth, Louisiana who was at the time identified only as Jane Roe in order to maintain her
anonymity but who has since publicly identified herself as Norma McCorvey. McCorvey, a resident of
Texas, wanted to have an abortion, but the existing state law prevented her from doing so. She filed a
lawsuit in federal district court on behalf of herself and all other pregnant women. The suit sought to
have the Texas abortion law declared unconstitutional

Social Stratification Mobility Essay
Social Stratification Mobility
Individuals in today s society are separated by many different factors such as race, ethnicity, gender,
and economic status. Another form of separation is that of stratification. There are four major systems
of stratification slavery, caste, estate, and class. Social stratification means the differentiation of a
given population into hierarchically superposed classes. (Sorokin, 1964, p. 11) Stratification can either
be in the form of an open or closed system. The closed system is one that allows minimal to no
movement within the system. The open system is just the opposite it allows for varying degrees of
movement throughout the system. There are many ways to break down the social stratification of ...

This movement is called social mobility By social mobility is understood any transition of an
individual or social object or value anything that has been created or modified by human activity from
on social position to another. (Sorokin, 1964, p. 133) This change in class is not always related to
money or economic change. In some cultures an individual may ascertain great wealth in their life
time but not be accepted into a higher class status. On the other hand a person who loses economic
status is still revered as elite. This inability to move from one class to another is mostly observed in
the estate system and the class system. There are two fundamental ways in which a person can be
mobile within society either horizontal or vertical.
In horizontal mobility individuals make what is considered a lateral move within society. By
horizontal social mobility or shifting, is meant the transition of an individual or social object from one
social group to another situated at the same level. (Sorokin, 1964, p. 133) This transition can be
related to a Horizontal mobility allows individuals to have opportunity to choose a vocation and not be
condemned to that of their parent(s). This option of lateral movement does not always require higher
education, political affiliation, or economic status. The individual stays at the same level of class
recognition, but has the option of choosing form a

The Levels Of Carbon Dioxide
In the modern industrial era, the levels of Carbon Dioxide produced are much more significant than in
years before. Due to Carbon Dioxides involvement in ocean acidification, this is a major issue. Since
the beginning of the industrial revolution, the pH of the ocean surface has fallen by 0.1 units.
Although this may not seem significant, due to the logarithmic properties of the pH scale, this change
signifies about a 30% increase in ocean acidity. If this issue isn t addressed, there will be dire
consequences for both marine organisms, as well as humans. To understand ocean acidification, some
chemistry needs to be defined and understood.

The molecules gain a shell of water molecules and are transformed from CO2 (g) to CO2 (aq). This is
known as the dissolution process. This can be shown in the equilibrium reaction.
Equilibrium is a state in a reaction in which both the reactants and the products are present in
concentrations that are both constant, and will not change over time. This state results when the
forward reaction is proceeding at the same rate as the reverse reaction. An example of this can be seen
in the dissolution of Sodium Chloride in water. If the equilibrium equation NaCl(s) NaCl (aq) is used,
we can see that the compound in the solid form is re crystalizing at the same rate as the aqueous form
is dissolving. There are 3 main disturbances that can alter equilibrium, a change in concentration of
reactants or products, a change in temperature or a change in pressure. According to Le Chatelier s
principle, if any of these three is disturbed, the system compensates by shifting the equilibrium to
either the left or the right. This can be seen in the equilibrium reactions associated with sea water. In
the dissolution process of CO2 discussed before, not all of the CO2 molecules remain dissolved. A
small amount react with the water to form carbonic acid (H2CO3), which can be seen in the equation
CO2 (aq) + H2O H2CO3 (aq). As carbonic acid is a weak acid, it can dissociate to bicarbonate or
carbonate. These two equations respectfully are H2CO3 (aq H+ (aq) + HCO3 (aq),

Examples Of Realism In Red Kayak
Do you know what makes a story realistic fiction? Red Kayak is a book about a kid that witnesses a
kayak accident... but was it an accident? Realistic fiction is a story that has events, people, or dialogue
that could be real. Red Kayak has many examples of realistic fiction like credible events and authentic
characters. One reason Red Kayak is a good example or realistic fiction is because it has realistic
settings. Realistic settings is a part of realistic fiction. On page 5 it says, It s a pretty river, the Corsica.
This is an example of realistic settings because the Corsica is a real river. When Brady talks about the
Corsica river, he is talking about a real setting. Another reason Red Kayak is a good example of

Fashion In The 1800 s
Fashion in the late 1800 s was a form of constraint for women, prohibiting them from living freely and
restricting them to simple activities. Looking closely at period fashion offers better understanding of
an author s characters. The silly and frivolous characters in Pride and Prejudice, such as Lydia and
Mrs. Bennet, are concerned with finery, while the sensible and realistic Lizzy could care less. During
Jane Austen s time, women were judged on their natural beauty and their ability to enhance it with
clothing. Even in the nineteenth century, there was specific fashion trends that women followed.
Kirstin Olsen explains that women wore decorative petticoats with ornamental bands as
undergarments (164). Sarah Downing mentions that old dresses were even recycled as petticoats (18).
Daniel Pool notes a frock dress was worn over the petticoat that cinched high under the breasts,
creating the illusion of a higher waistline (213). Because frocks ... Show more content on

I do not think it is very pretty; but I thought I might as well buy it as not (211). Sarah Downing
concludes that only foolish characters chatter about clothing: characterized by their dress but rarely do
they speak of it; unless they are one of Austen s silver characters, they maintain the good taste and
decorum of the times, which helps that it was poor manners to impose conversation about such

History Of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart ( La Finta Giardiniera )
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (La finta giardiniera)
An opera can be defined as a dram a set of music which is made of vocal pieces having orchestral
accompaniment as well, as orchestral overtures and interludes. In this discussion, I am going to write
about Opera which was written in 1775 by Mozart (La finta giardiniera). The opera is assumed to be
the first opera that was done by Mozart as part of his opera buffa which is of significance. La finta
giardiniera can be translated as The Pretend Garden Girl . The opera was written in Munich when
Mozart was 18 years old and the first performance was done on January 13, 1775, at the Salvator
Theatre in Munich (Cantrell 22, 27). There has been a serious debate on who write the libretto for the
opera with most people ascribing to Calzabigi while others attributing the libretto to Giuseppe
Petrosellini. There are also a lot of questions on whether the style of libretto is for Giuseppe (Cantrell
53).
Mozart was subjected to write a lavish music and set the severe time limit on mass settings but he
protested doing so but was letter on obliged to observe. At the end of the year, he was commissioned
to write an opera buffa, La finta giardiniera for the Munich carnival season in 1775 where it was
success . The commissioning was done by Maximilian III and it was the first comic opera of Mozart
since his childhood. The language that was used in composing the opera was in Italian but in 1780,
Mozart converted it to German Singspiel Die

Pathos In The Other Face
Black holes are very huge formations in the space that have a tremendous tendency for absorbing
everything in the surrounding, and so our personalities are. We are born as void memory children who
couldn t differentiate between right and wrong. However, we were also programmed in a certain
manner that tells us what we are supposed to be, or exhibit. Socialization is a main clue which is
regarded as a programming utility for our personalities. Therefore, Salma Shalash, in The Other Face,
had a desire in shedding the light over the effect of personality programming, socialization, on
relationships, with respect to gender considerations. Shalash conducted her message by writing a short
temporary Egyptian story of a couple, being about to marry. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Pathos was used explicitly by grabbing the emotions and feeling of the audience by the unexpected
spontaneous reaction of the fiancée ( Ethos, Pathos, and Logos ), showing her real mask, when she
noticed that her relationship and marriage are subjected to danger. Ethos is achieved by relying on a
divorced axial character, a friend of hers. The former dependence paves the audience mind for the fact
that marriage, at that environment, ceases being a divorce when problems, related to misperceiving
personalities, arise among couples. The author also accounted for the left brain audience who are
mainly interested in one to one events; consequently, Logos , as a persuasion mode, was used as a
transition between Shalash s knowing that her relationship with Fouad would be adversely affected
and her spontaneous reaction, based on her character, of the unexpected visit. To sum up, The Other
Face, by Salma Shallash, managed to conduct the message, triggered by the author s exigency, through
a theoretical writing model integrating both persuasion and original writing style. Salma Shallash, in
her story, assures the common Egyptian motto: Everything is with disagreement, except for marriage .
She also emphasizes that actions can be evaluated in different ways according to the one s perspective
in perceiving them. Therefore, a key to success and relax is the multi dimensional, or versatile,

My Favorite Hobbies
In order to be able to call something a hobby, I must enjoy doing it, and be able to do it for years. At
eighteen years old, fitting my experiences and activities into those two categories is quite difficult. My
lack of experience in life gives me a limited view, but the hobbies that I do enjoy, I take pride in. I
grew up playing outside with my brother, so we were always doing something together as kids.
Whenever my mom would take us out grocery shopping she would blare the music in the car loud and
sing to whatever was playing. Having those memories and experiences helped shape me into who I am
today. Throughout this life, I have embraced many forms of hobbies and entertainment; however,
playing sports, traveling, and listening to music are my three greatest passions.
First, my absolute favorite hobby would be playing sports. I loved playing sports as a kid, and I

every opportunity to study his techniques, in order to practice them. I looked up to him for his on court
grace, humility for the sport, and ability to play the game.

Military Draft In Vietnam War
Max Smith
Essay
The Vietnam War was between 1954 and 1975. We did not have enough people in the military, so
there was conscription which is most commonly called a draft. A draft is the mandatory enrollment of
male individuals into the armed forces. The government maintains the ability to start a draft in case of
a national emergency. The Selective Service System is responsible for the draft. The U.S. military
drafted 2.2 million American men out of an eligible pool of 27 million.
There were over 58,000 military fatal casualties in the Vietnam War. Many soldiers did support the
war. Others felt the draft was a death sentence. They were being sent to a war and fight for a cause that

Nuclear War Research Paper
Instate violence has decreased in recent decades when it comes to nuclear war, but small arms war is
still wide spread. More wars have had the use of guns than the use of nuclear weapons. More people
have been killed in wars because of guns than because of nuclear weapons. However, more people can
be killed in an instant by nuclear weapons whereas when you use a gun, more people can be killed in a
span of a few months. It is also easier and cheaper to get a gun than it is to make and use a nuclear

weapon would cause the utmost terror across America.
Liberalists and their conflicts are driven by issues like scarcity and survivability. An example would

Internet Crimes And The Internet
Introduction
The purpose of this research is to discuss about cybercrimes also known as internet crimes. The
researcher has taken help from a number of online sources and a few books as well. Firstly, the
researcher will discuss about cybercrime, how and when it came in existence. The researcher then will
categorize cybercrimes into 2 parts, cyber abuse and cyber attacks. This in turn has a few subtopics to
follow. And lastly, the researcher will discuss prevention from these kind of attacks.
Technology has been increasing so rapidly in the past fifteen years that it has increased the use of
computers in our daily lives and in the business sector. To keep pace with the rapid increase in
technology, industries such as banking, health, education etc. are very dependent on Internet for all its
activities.
However, what is Internet? Internet is the largest wide area network (WAN) that connects millions of
computers worldwide and it is easily accessible at any corner of the world.
Since the evolution of the Internet almost 20 years back, it has gradually changed and in turn changed
our lives as well and has left a great impact on our lives.
In the earlier times, Internet was only used to search for information but now it not only contains a

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Trade Barriers
Trade barriers can be defined as any measures that government or public authorities give to restrict on
the flow goods or services. Trade barriers were needed to reduce competitiveness between domestic
goods and services with imported goods and services. But not everything that restricted or prevented
is trade barriers, such as linguistic difference. There are many forms of trade barriers; the most
common are tariff and non tariff barriers. Tariff barriers on trade are tax that was imposed by the
government on imported and/or exported goods and services, such as custom duties. Meanwhile,
according to Cleins C. Coughlin, a senior economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, non
tariff barriers on trade are non tax measures imposed by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These purposes might be beneficial in the short run because it will encourage economic growth.
Without trade barriers, workers from other countries can easily enter the country and resulting in the
increase of unemployment. For example before ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) was placed,
ASEAN member labor forces cannot enter Indonesia territory easily. But with this AEC, Indonesia
workers was threatened because the foreigner might have a higher competence than Indonesia own
workers and this may lead Indonesia labor to lose their job and thus, increasing unemployment. But in
a long run, when trade barriers continue, trade barriers will hurt national economy. One problem that
emerges from trade barriers is rent seeking. When local industries tried to lobby the government to

Unions Are A Most Effective Way Of Protecting Worker s Rights
2. Do you agree that unions are a most effective way of protecting worker s rights? Should U.S. labor
law be changed to be more in line with international labor codes?
Answer: Yes, I agree that solidarity campaigns in support of workers and/or unions are an effective
way of protecting worker s rights. Without the formation of unions such as the United Farm Workers
founded by Chavez and Huerta in 1962, vulnerable workers would have no defense against the
systemic exploitation and violations against their rights as workers and as human beings (Brubaker,
2007, p. 96). Exposed by the Human Rights Watch (HRW), is the fact that agricultural work in the
U.S. is the most punishing and perilous work open to children in the contemporary world. ... Show

Also, after a request for better working conditions in Bangladesh were denied, ten workers leading the
protest were beaten by police, detained, and deported. Senator Byron Dorgan reported that under the
Jordanian Free Trade Agreement, we ended up with people of Bangladesh working 120 hours a week,
turning Chinese cloth into apparel designed for the U.S. market, which enters the U.S. duty free.
According to a 2006 Harris poll, 75% of Americans support the protection of international workers
rights, therefore, the creators of these laws need to recognize the need for reform in the laws affecting
workers of the world (Brubaker, 2007, p. 106).
3. Does the idea of community supported agriculture appeal to you? What would it take to make
something like this happen in your community?
Answer: Yes! I love the idea of community supported agriculture for several reasons. In the first place,
the goals identified, such as mutually beneficial relationships with a community of consumers,
environmentally sustainable farming practices, and public education on contemporary agricultural
issues makes sense to me. Also, the high quality, locally grown produce is more available and
affordable, and even reduces the negative environmental impacts caused by conventional production
and distribution systems. Those who cannot afford to buy adequate food are incorporated into the
planning of the distribution of the crops, and since diet can be a risk

Just like everyone King Arthur has his good and bad qualities. King Arthur s good qualities is what makes him an intriguing person. King Arthur was a legendary ruler of Britain whose life and deeds became the basis for a collection of tales known as the Arthurian legends. As the leading figure in British mythology, King Arthur is a national hero and a symbol of Britain s heroic heritage. But his appeal is not limited to Britain. The Arthurian story, with its elements of mystery, magic, love, war, adventure, betrayal, chivalry, and fate, has touched the popular imagination and has become part of the world s shared mythology. King Arthur was born somewhere in the misty region where history and imagination meet (Gale Student Resources). • 4. Modern Transformers And Electric Power Systems Large power modern transformers are vital components and very expensive in electric power systems. Forthwith, it is very important to reduce the duration and frequency of unwanted outages that results in a high demand imposed on power transformer protection relays, this includes the requirements of dependability related with no mal operations, operating speed related with short fault clearing time to avoid extensive damage or to preserve power quality and power system stability and security related with no false tripping. Discrimination between inrush currents and internal faults has long been known as a challenging power transformer protection problem. Otherwise, inrush currents contain large second harmonic component compared to internal faults, conventional transformer protection are designed to achieve required discrimination by sensing that large second harmonic content [1]. The level of second harmonic component of the inrush current has been reduced due to improving in transformer core material and occur power system changes. Additionally, a large second harmonic can also be found in transformer internal fault currents if a shunt capacitor is connected to a transformer in a long extra high voltage transmission line. Therefore, the methods based on the measurement of the second harmonic are not sufficiently effective for differential protective relays [2]. Newly, several new protective schemes have been proposed to deal with the previous problem in large power ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Persuasive Essay For Year Round Education Vote YES! To Year Round Education Though school might be a pain to some students, their health and learning abilities can be effectively productive with year round education, or YRE. In contrast to the U.S., Japan uses a 220 day year round school calendar, and Japanese students consistently test higher than students in the United States ( Year Round School ). Putting students in YRE can help them in the long run when it comes down to maintaining knowledge for the real world. YRE generally operates on a 180 day schedule that includes a reduced summer vacation and frequent short breaks throughout the school year (Chittom et al.). Failing tests and quizzes after coming back from breaks are the last thing anyone wants to happen. While attending schools that use balanced scheduling, the breaks that are implemented throughout the school year may be shorter, but you get a broad variety of breaks for various occasions. YRE, or the balanced calendar, helps to minimize the months worth of learning loss that students tend to experience during a typical summer break (Chittom et al.). The focus of implementing a year round school calendar is a convenient way to ignore larger problems concerning the educational system that are not easily solved. Among year round education you retain more knowledge, get more breaks throughout the year, and score higher and your assessments. The student health and learning abilities are key to having success while getting classes done. With that being said, one of the most beneficial points of year round education is student capability. Though student benefits can be a broad range of subject, there are enough pros to cancel out the equilibrium of the cons. Students socialization skills would be more likely to increase due to the amount of days in the year. In YRE the students may be divided up into tracks. Single track students and staff will go on vacations at the same time. Multi track is where a certain group/track of students or staff take a vacation while others are at school. Matthew Lynch, from Education Week, stated The main benefit with dividing schools in multi track and single track is for those who need extra or remedial help. The need theory wasn t properly taken into consideration in my group as some people didn t care to know about what motivates others in the group. There were some elements of the free rider effect because of some people feeling that their input to the group was the best and no order input can be better than what they have offered. Carrying fellow group members along, making them have a sense of responsibility and not always treating their contribution as not worthy will solve the issue of the free rider effect in the group. As the expectancy theory suggests that people will expend energy if they think it will pay off so despite all my negative observations about the group, I was able to put all behind me because I wanted a very good outcome for the group. • 9. Research Paper On Chromatography Chromatography media selection By Catherine Shaffer M.Sc. Chromatography is a technique for separation of mixtures. The name combines the greek chroma, or color, with graphein, to write. The technique was invented in 1900 by Mikhail Tsvet, who used it to write the colors of plant pigments like chlorophyll carotenes, and xanthophylls. He did that by dissolving the plant mixtures in a fluid, or mobile phase, and allowing it to flow through a solid material called a stationary phase. The components of the mixture flow through the stationary phase material at different rates, creating waves or bands. Originally, those bands were detected by visible color differences. Detection methods are now based on the chemical and physical properties of the molecules being separated, including but not limited to color, UV absorbance, size, charge, and hydrophobicity. In modern chromatographic separations, the stationary phase comes in the form of media, either pre packed in a chromatography column, or added by the user to the separation apparatus. The Phantom of the Opera also issued a similar type of casting method when naming Norm Lewis as the first black actor to play the Phantom. However, the idea of color blindness is not a problem on stage so much as it is off stage. Because much of white privilege doesn t have any interaction with blackness they have a tendency to congregate around pathology, and only focusing on particular things in the urban environment high crime, single parenthood, things like that and then they sort of tag that as being the black experience (Nichloson). Properly representing a culture different than the playwright s or producer s without being racist is a very tedious and difficult task which is why it is very important to have diversity in a show s production team. During these hard times, many people believed that the federal government should have a larger role in the economy. These beliefs led to the election of Franklin D. Roosevelt. In President Roosevelts inaugural speech, (1933) he first used the great phrase, ...the only thing we have to fear is fear itself... He needed to strengthen our nation and boost the confidence of the citizens. It is because of these realities that Franklin D. Roosevelt and his advisors created The New Deal. (Sorokin, 1964, p. 11) Stratification can either be in the form of an open or closed system. The closed system is one that allows minimal to no movement within the system. The open system is just the opposite it allows for varying degrees of movement throughout the system. There are many ways to break down the social stratification of ... This movement is called social mobility By social mobility is understood any transition of an individual or social object or value anything that has been created or modified by human activity from on social position to another. (Sorokin, 1964, p. 133) This change in class is not always related to money or economic change. In some cultures an individual may ascertain great wealth in their life time but not be accepted into a higher class status. On the other hand a person who loses economic status is still revered as elite. This inability to move from one class to another is mostly observed in the estate system and the class system. There are two fundamental ways in which a person can be mobile within society either horizontal or vertical. In horizontal mobility individuals make what is considered a lateral move within society. By horizontal social mobility or shifting, is meant the transition of an individual or social object from one social group to another situated at the same level. • 23. The Levels Of Carbon Dioxide In the modern industrial era, the levels of Carbon Dioxide produced are much more significant than in years before. Due to Carbon Dioxides involvement in ocean acidification, this is a major issue. Since the beginning of the industrial revolution, the pH of the ocean surface has fallen by 0.1 units. Although this may not seem significant, due to the logarithmic properties of the pH scale, this change signifies about a 30% increase in ocean acidity. If this issue isn t addressed, there will be dire consequences for both marine organisms, as well as humans. To understand ocean acidification, some chemistry needs to be defined and understood. The molecules gain a shell of water molecules and are transformed from CO2 (g) to CO2 (aq). This is known as the dissolution process. This can be shown in the equilibrium reaction. Equilibrium is a state in a reaction in which both the reactants and the products are present in concentrations that are both constant, and will not change over time. This state results when the forward reaction is proceeding at the same rate as the reverse reaction. An example of this can be seen in the dissolution of Sodium Chloride in water. If the equilibrium equation NaCl(s) NaCl (aq) is used, we can see that the compound in the solid form is re crystalizing at the same rate as the aqueous form is dissolving. There are 3 main disturbances that can alter equilibrium, a change in concentration of reactants or products, a change in temperature or a change in pressure. According to Le Chatelier s principle, if any of these three is disturbed, the system compensates by shifting the equilibrium to either the left or the right. This can be seen in the equilibrium reactions associated with sea water. In the dissolution process of CO2 discussed before, not all of the CO2 molecules remain dissolved. A small amount react with the water to form carbonic acid (H2CO3), which can be seen in the equation CO2 (aq) + H2O H2CO3 (aq). As carbonic acid is a weak acid, it can dissociate to bicarbonate or carbonate. These two equations respectfully are H2CO3 (aq H+ (aq) + HCO3 (aq), ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Looking closely at period fashion offers better understanding of an author s characters. The silly and frivolous characters in Pride and Prejudice, such as Lydia and Mrs. Bennet, are concerned with finery, while the sensible and realistic Lizzy could care less. During Jane Austen s time, women were judged on their natural beauty and their ability to enhance it with clothing. Even in the nineteenth century, there was specific fashion trends that women followed. Kirstin Olsen explains that women wore decorative petticoats with ornamental bands as undergarments (164). Sarah Downing mentions that old dresses were even recycled as petticoats (18). In this discussion, I am going to write about Opera which was written in 1775 by Mozart (La finta giardiniera). The opera is assumed to be the first opera that was done by Mozart as part of his opera buffa which is of significance. La finta giardiniera can be translated as The Pretend Garden Girl . The opera was written in Munich when Mozart was 18 years old and the first performance was done on January 13, 1775, at the Salvator Theatre in Munich (Cantrell 22, 27). There has been a serious debate on who write the libretto for the opera with most people ascribing to Calzabigi while others attributing the libretto to Giuseppe Petrosellini. There are also a lot of questions on whether the style of libretto is for Giuseppe (Cantrell 53). Mozart was subjected to write a lavish music and set the severe time limit on mass settings but he protested doing so but was letter on obliged to observe. At the end of the year, he was commissioned to write an opera buffa, La finta giardiniera for the Munich carnival season in 1775 where it was success . The commissioning was done by Maximilian III and it was the first comic opera of Mozart since his childhood. Pathos was used explicitly by grabbing the emotions and feeling of the audience by the unexpected spontaneous reaction of the fiancée ( Ethos, Pathos, and Logos ), showing her real mask, when she noticed that her relationship and marriage are subjected to danger. The former dependence paves the audience mind for the fact that marriage, at that environment, ceases being a divorce when problems, related to misperceiving personalities, arise among couples. The author also accounted for the left brain audience who are mainly interested in one to one events; consequently, Logos , as a persuasion mode, was used as a transition between Shalash s knowing that her relationship with Fouad would be adversely affected and her spontaneous reaction, based on her character, of the unexpected visit.
