The Themes Of Motherhood In Peter The Park
Motherhood feeling blooms in each woman s heart. As a little girl, motherhood is practiced through
doll as if it is her baby. As a woman grows up, she creates her dreams of being a mother, strong bond,
and attachment to this world; she naturally belongs to this hood. Motherhood then becomes waking up
in the middle of the night to make sure that her child is well tucked in and to give her full attention,
care, and love to a child. It is a harsh world, tiredness and exhaustion sometimes. Through the endless
journey, she consumes her real, metal and emotional power and energy for the sake of her own
children s comfort and happiness. Strangely, if asking any mother about her life as a mother? She
would happily say that being a mom is the most satisfying feeling she has ever had. Most important
chore in motherhood trip is to teach a child to grow up, as nothing equals the happiness of a mother
when finally, she knows that she raised a successful human being. As we will learn in this essay, how
is Peter s mother in Peter the Rabbit is different than Charles s mother in Voices in The Park . Both
stories hold the Growing up process theme. We ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also, believing in your child and forgive him would make him doesn t fear the unknown. Peter s
mother forgives him because she knows he learned his lesson. First, she was right when she warned
him to stay away from the garden, second, he learned to be responsible and depend on himself. He
now knows how Mr. Rabbit cars or him and love him and she will always be there for him no matter
what happens even if he makes some mistakes. That is fundamentally important; each child should
know and feel that way; secured and loved. Love and care are absent in the case of Charles. His
mother keeps a gap between him and careless; he is mentally paralyzed because of his mother s
selfishness. Charles cannot grow up

Islamic Organizations Post World War II
As we get farther into the book, I become more intrigued into the events that took place in America in
regards to Islam. I never actually knew the broader history behind the enlargement of Islam in the
United States. The formation of different Islamic organizations post World War II was very interesting,
because it created a society where Muslim immigrants can unite; such as the Nation of Islam and the
FIA. I found that the sociological, and political aspects of these religion based communities and
organizations were very relevant to the issues that many Muslims had to deal with. However, some of
the organization s teachings and actions seemed questionable. Also, the book is very difficult to
understand as it gets very in depth with fact after fact but not much background information, which
makes it hard to follow the points that author, Kambiz GhaneaBassiri is trying to get across. That
being said, I would like to focus on the chapter 6 readings, and the author s style of writing. To begin
with, throughout the book, A History of Islam in America, the author has a specific style of writing
where he makes the book extremely dense to read. From chapter one to chapter six so far, there is a lot
of information that he gives us as readers with fact after fact, but not a lot of detail on the main points
that he is trying to make. This can make the reading that we have been doing highly confusing to
understand. As he begins to make a very significant point that had to do with

After some research, I found out that cardinal sine could not be solved by elementary means and that
its integral was, in fact, a crucial part of the Gibbs phenomenon, which will be expanded upon in the
Applications section (Pg. 8) of this investigation. My aim for this investigation is to prove the integral
of cardinal sine to be sine integral and to approximate five (5) values of the sine integral function.
Afterwards, I will show how this is relevant in both mathematics and other, more practical,
applications. Exploration In order to organize the mathematical exploration most effectively, the
exploration will begin with the following problem: Prove that ∫▒sin⁡
x/x is equal to Si (x). Approximate
Si (0), Si (π/6), Si (π/4), Si (π/3), and Si (π/2) using a Taylor polynomial of order 3 at 0 for f(x) = Si
(x). In order to verify the results of the approximations, Wolfram Alpha, an online calculator capable
of processing the sine integral function, will be used.
To begin with, the Taylor series representation of the sine integral function is as such:
Si (x)=∑_(n=0 )^∞▒(( 1)^n x^(2n+1))/(2n+1)(2n+1)! At this point, it is necessary to find the Taylor
series representation of sin⁡
x/x. First, the Taylor series representation of sin (x) is:
∑_(n=0)^∞▒(〖( 1)〗^n x^(2n+1))/(2n+1)!
Therefore, sin⁡
x/x is equal to:
1/x ∑_(n=0)^∞▒(〖( 1)〗^n x^(2n+1))/(2n+1)!
Which is equal to:
∑_(n=0)^∞▒(〖( 1)〗^n x^(2n+1))/x(2n+1)!

Violence In The Grapes Of Wrath
We as Americans have seen our share of violence whether it is first hand, through the media, or in
history books. We have seen the pain and struggle that these people must go through in order to
survive. This novel, The Grapes of Wrath, relates to some of the many times of violence and cruelty
that this America has seen.
During the Dust Bowl, hundreds of thousands of southerners faced many hardships, which is the basis
of the novel called The Grapes of Wrath. It was written to portray the harsh conditions during the Dust
Bowl. When one considers the merit of this novel, one thinks, how can Americans treat other
Americans so horribly. After reviewing American History, the mistreatment of the quot;Okies quot; in

In chapter 21, the workers are in California and the mild people of California find in the Okies what
they have yet to experience fear and desperation. Sensing the extent to which the migrants are willing
to work, the locals begin to fear for their own jobs, and most importantly, for their own property. In
fearful defense, they attack the Okies as marauders who mean to destroy both populations through
their desperation. This fear transforms into hostility, which reveals itself in the story through the
deputies and managers who abuse and assault the Joads, as well as other migrant families in the
workers camps.
Throughout the novel there are several symbols used to develop the theme; man verses a hostile
environment. Each symbol used in the novel show examples of both extremes. Some represent man
that struggles against the environment; others paint a clear picture of the feelings of the migrants. As
each symbol is presented chronologically through the novel, like the turtle at the beginning and then
the dust. They all come together at the end to paint a clear picture of the conditions, treatment and
feelings the people (migrants) as they make their journey through the novel to the West.
Violence is everywhere, more today than yesterday. We still see or hear of random acts of violence
that are happening all around. Whether it be racial or not, this violence will not

computers more than a mile apart. In a typical LAN configuration, one computer is designated as the
file server. It stores all of the software that controls the network, as well as the software that can be
shared by the computers attached to the network. Computers connected to the file server are called
workstations. The workstations can be less powerful than the file server, and they may have additional
software on their hard drives. On many LANs, cables are used to connect the network interface cards
in each computer; other LANs may be wireless. All stations are connected by cable or wireless to a
central point, such as hub or a switch. If the central node is operating in a broadcast fashion such as a
Hub, transmission of a frame from one station to the node is retransmitted on all of the outgoing links.
In this case, although the arrangement is physically a star, it is logically a bus. In the case of the
central node acting as switch, an incoming frame is processed in the node and then retransmitted on an
outgoing link to the destination station. Ethernet protocols IEEE 802.3 are often used in the Star

Allyson Wells Social Media In the world today, the development of technology is constantly changing
and society is becoming more dependent on the Internet and social media. With a growing number of
people using the Internet and social media the advantages and disadvantages become more prevalent.
It is important for society to distinguish between the two in order to effectively and safely use the
Internet and social media.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of easily obtainable information? The Internet is full of
endless information that is easily available at our fingertips. There are advantages and disadvantages
to having access to such easily obtainable information. One advantage would be the ability to acquire
more knowledge by having access to information outside of a classroom or seminar. Gaining this
information can help with school or work projects if you are able to find helpful information. It is also
a quick and convenient method of gathering data. An example of how it might help an everyday
citizen would be if a person were thinking of moving to a new city or area, they could check the crime
rates and frequency and look to see if any sex offenders are in the area. This is a good way to keep
your family safe by using the easily obtainable information on the Internet. Some disadvantages of
easily obtainable information is it may not be credible. Just because information is on the Internet,

George Orwell s Shooting An Elephant
An iconic figure in the world of controversial novelists, Eric Arthur Blair was known more commonly
by his pen name George Orwell. He was very outspoken and blunt about his views against the
tyrannical British rule and openly opposed its nature. One of the reasons why he was acclaimed as one
of the best writers of the era was because of his lucid prose and the other was the aptness of his work.
George Orwell wanted to target the British rule and to support the idea of a Democratic Government.
In the essay Shooting an Elephant , Orwell shows the flaw in the system and how being in power has
left him without any power to make his own decision at all. When the white man turn tyrant it is his
own freedom that he destroys (Orwell). The essay interests everyone as it points out the necessity of
democracy which has been a widely debated issue for ages. George Orwell targeted masses all over
the world through his writing because the essay was published in the magazine which was available
everywhere around the Globe. Although George Orwell uses some harsh words to describe natives
which undermine his argument however he explains his viewpoint through a mixture of persuasive
and convincing language, a well structured essay and an anti thesis approach to show that Imperialism
destroys the people and the system. In his essay, George Orwell narrates his personal experience to
reach a conclusion that when white man turns tyrant it is his own freedom that he destroys

Pantofola D Oro Essay
History
Pantofola d Oro is a company based in Italy that manufactures soccer boots, leisure footwear, as well
as clothing. The company began in a small family workshop in Ascoli Piceno industrial district, Italy
in the year 1886. At the time, it was just a cobbler s shop, which was founded by Emidio Lazzarini
when he worked as a shoemaker; as he put into practice the teachings given to him by not only his
father but also his grandfather. However, the company had not begun producing handcrafted elite
soccer boots until the 1950s when Emidio took over the business, which was run by his father. After
the day s work was done, Emilio would devote his time to wrestling, and as a wrestler he used to wear

The Americans seem to be more familiar with brands like Nike, Reebok, Adidas, among others. This
will make it a bit difficult to penetrate the market as much as those other big footwear producing
companies have.
Furthermore, Pantofola d Oro s products cannot be found in U.S stores despite their presence all over
Europe. For the few who already recognize the brand and want to purchase it, they can only get it
from the pro direct soccer website. However, very few people in the U.S. know about this and as a
result, Pantofola d Oro does not take up any significant size of the U.S. soccer footwear market share.
Due to the high quality and incorporation of NFC technology in Pantofola d Oro s products, they cost
more than those of competitors. They are also set to be placed in the big departmental stores only, such
as Nordstrom and Barneys. This may reduce their potential to be recognized and thus bought by many
people.
International Operations
The company has already developed presence in Italy and Europe. It is also planning to scale up to
Germany, the United States and Northern Europe with the assistance of three international partners

integrate 3D acceleration to traditional 2D and video acceleration. The acronym for RIVA is Real time

different type of rendering technology, but the RIVA 128 was designed to accelerate Direct3D. During
this time period everything changed. For the first time Microsoft selected NVIDIA to provide a much

Will China Invent The Steam Engine Itself If The Opium...
As the development of the industry in China, a question is aroused about whether China can invent the
steam engine itself if the Opium Wars had not happened. In order words, according to the
development degree of China during the Opium Wars period, will it open the industrialization
progress initiatively? In my opinion, after comparing the situation of China and England at that time,
the answer is no. This essay will evaluate in three aspects, which are the political system and policy;
the economic level and the effect of the Opium Wars to prove that answer. In the politic aspect,
England had established a constitutional monarchy before inventing the steam engine, which leaves
more space for people to create something and put into action.

INTRODUCTION
What is stem cell research?
Stem cell research is the study and use of embryonic and adult cells towards development of medical
science. The study of stem cells has become a major focus in the world of medicine because of its
great potential to cure common illnesses such as; Parkinson s disease, cerebral palsy and diabetes. The
study of maturing stem cells gives scientists insight into possible cures for these diseases and
potentially can give information on how they occur.
History and development of stem cell research
Stem cell research was first developed in the mid 1800 s when scientists discovered the cells ability to
produce other cells. The first medical attempt to use harvested cells was in the early 1900 s when
scientists tried to fertilized eggs outside the human body. The first successful attempt to use stem cells
from bone marrow was in 1968 which was an allogeneic transplant between two siblings. Since then
stem cell research has developed as the medical world gains new understanding of the cells potential.
The use of adult stem cells in modern world medicine such as leukemia and heart disease shows the
progress the scientific world has made.
Different kinds of stem cells and stem cell research
There are two main types of stem cells; embryonic and adult, which are put into three categorizations;
totipotent, pluripotent and multipotent.

Since the Vietnam War, the public s opinion has played major roles in how policymakers operate.
Their opinions may not always support to choices which are best for the country, however they are

During the Persian Gulf War, public opinion ultimately shaped policy. How the policy was attained,

President Bush s implementation of the invasion increased his approval rating from 60 percent to 76
percent in just one month. By November, the majority of the American people, 70 percent felt that the

becoming more interested in domestic policy.
The American public was not very supportive of the war near the end, but Bush continued on with it.
He had to reassure people that it wouldn t be Vietnam. The Bush administration stated that the reason
for fighting the war was the need for a New World Order in the aftermath of the Cold war. The U.S.

Chapter 2 2.0 Literature Review 2.1 Overview of concentration problem Concentrators is devices
which join the traffic on low speed lines into a single stream which can use a higher speed line. For

How The Genetic Transformation And Determine The...
Aim
The aim of the experiment was to observe the genetic transformation and determine the transformation
efficiency of the bacteria, E.Coli.
Introduction
Injection of DNA into cells which results in the inheritance of traits contained in the DNA injected is
known as genetic transformation (Lorenz et al, 1994). Genetic transformation that occurs naturally has
resulted in evolution. The efficiency and rate of exchange of genetic material can be increased if both
organisms use the same system of genetic information storage e.g. DNA plasmid (Johnsborg et al,
2007). The bacteria E.Coli which are used in the experiment are sensitive to antibiotic, they do not
glow and are easily transformed (Dickson, 2008). Bacteria are single celled which increases the result
of an uptake of substance, and E.Coli have circular DNA or better known as plasmids. These plasmids
can be replicated and passed on to the next generation. The plasmids added to the colonies will be
used as the medium for insertion and expression of the foreign DNA sequence (Cold Spring Harbor
Laboratory, No Date). A gene carrying the GFP or Green Fluorescent Protein is used in the
experiment. GFP is found naturally in the North American jellyfish, Aequorea Victoria, and is
harmless hence leading to its usage as a tool to study gene expression in an organism as they are easily
visible (Dickson, 2008). GFP causes an organism to glow under UV light.
Escherichia Coli or E.Coli is considered as a gram negative bacteria.

Childhood Transition
The transition from childhood to adulthood is a defining phase in the lives of many people. For some,
it involves tradition and celebration; while for others it occurs in a defining moment. For me, the
transition was a gradual process involving growth through leadership in middle school and high
school. As a young child in elementary school, I was very shy and anxious about everything. As I
continued to grow older, I started to grow out of my introverted nature with the help of my friends,
teachers, and family. In fact, I started to go in the opposite direction and became more outgoing. This
trend continued into middle school as I decided to try to run for student council, thinking that it would
help me grow and become more popular. After I won a narrow election and began my work in the
council, I realized that it would drastically change my life. Throughout my years in the middle school
student council, I slowly learned the lessons of leadership, responsibility, and problem solving in a

looked to me for someone to follow. My teachers held me to a higher standard as a leader, and the
administration saw me as an effective student body representative. I began to take a bigger role in
school, especially as an interviewer for the superintendent and assistant principal positions. I also
pushed to new levels of leadership in student council. As a sophomore, I became the Central Division
Delegate at Large with the help of my advisor and fellow council members. All of these experiences

Australi A Constitutional Monarchy And The United States...
Australia is a constitutional monarchy and the United States is a democratic republic. Furthermore,
both Australia and the U.S. are federated nations, wherein governmental power is shared between
national and state governments. This essay will review the similarities and differences between
Australian and American government by exploring their federation, party systems, and their
legislative, executive, and judicial branches.
Paths to Independence
In order to understand the origins of both governmental structures, a discussion of each nation s
historical independence is required first. On 1 January, 1901, six British colonies came together to
form the Commonwealth of Australia. This outcome was the result of deliberation, consultation, and
debate, unlike many other nations that unified as a result of war or conflict (PEO). Popular support for
federation came from a realization of the inefficiencies associated with near self governance while
subordinated to the British Parliament. In 1889, Premier of New South Wales Sir Henry Parkes
encouraged the colonies to federate; from 1890 to 1899 a series of conferences and conventions were
held to create a constitution (PEO). At the turn of the 20th century, the British parliament passed the
Commonwealth of Australia Constitution Act, and Queen Victoria signed it soon after (Office of
Parliamentary Counsel). The Commonwealth is proclaimed in Centennial Park, Sydney; Henry
Parkes, The Father of Federation, died in 1896 before this

Gastric Acid Secretion Research Paper
Gastric acid production and secretion
Gastric acid secretion is said to be a complex process regulated by hormonal and neural pathways
(Ceglia et al. 2008). This paper would try to decipher the pathophysiology of gastric acid secretion
and explain the changes process in different types of disorders such as gastritis, peptic ulcer disease,
and gastroesophageal reflux disease.
To begin talking about acid production and secretion, we have first to consider talking about the
physiology of the stomach. The stomach consists of three basic parts, the fundus the body and the
antrum, which are divided into two glandular regions, the oxyntic, and pyloric mucosa (Lewis,
Heitkemper and Dirksen, 2014). In the oxyntic gland mucosa, lays the parietal cells, ... Show more

Some common disorders associated with gastric acid secretion are gastroesophageal reflux disease
(GERD), peptic ulcer disease (PUD), and gastritis. For example, in gastroesophageal reflux disease,
high gastric contents enter and remain in the lower part of the esophagus due to weakened esophageal
sphincter, abdominal pressure, hiatal hernia, alcohol consumption or cigarettes smoking. Usually, the
lower esophageal sphincter maintains enough pressure around the lower end of the esophagus to close
it and prevent reflux (McPhee and Hammer, 2012). Sometimes the pressure in the stomach exceeds
the pressure in the esophagus, causes the sphincter to open and gastric contents penetrate the
esophagus which cause pain and irritation. Peptic ulcer diseases (PUD) and gastritis disorders,
however; are primarily caused by bacterial infection with helicobacter pylori and acid secretions also
play a major role (McPhee and Hammer, 2012). Direct alteration of signal transduction in mucosal
and immune cells by H pylori infection may cause an increase in acid secretion and diminish mucosal
defenses (McPhee and Hammer,

Ganglioside Research Paper
Gangliosides (GM) are glycosphingolipids with complex structures that are found within cellular
membranes. They are most abundant in the nervous system with many important functions such as
serving as the structural components of biomembranes, mediators in signal transductions, and playing
a role in cell to cell recognition. While the presence of gangliosides is vital to cellular function,
ganglisoide degradation is necessary to prevent a buildup of lipids. The excess presence of
gangliosides in the cell ultimately causes apoptosis. There are several different classifications of
gangliosides, however, a buildup of lipids resulting from improper GM2 ganglioside catabolism
results from the lack of enzyme β hexosaminidase A. The lysosomal ... Show more content on

Errors involving ganglioside metabolism heavily impact the central nervous system due to the
presence of a higher concentration of gangliosides. TSD is specifically caused by a mutation in the
HEXA gene encoding the α subunit of β hexosaminidase A. An individual with TSD is able to
transport the GM2 ganglioside from the cellular membrane to the lysosome for degradation, but is
unable to process it further since the α subunit of β hexosaminidase A cannot cleave the terminal N
acetylgalactosamine group. Without this cleavage, the lysosome is unable to digest the GM2

Greek Ptolemies In Ancient Egypt
The Ptolemaic dynasty that ruled over Egypt after the death of Alexander the Great, was highly
characterized by the incestuous behavior of its member. Multiple generations of Ptolemies married
their own siblings or other close family member. Incest was taboo among the Greeks, and despite the
Ptolemies descending from the Greco Macedonian general and king, Ptolemy, they still practiced
incest. Many believe this practiced to have started in an effort to appeal to the Egyptian people and to
keep the power within the family. With the practice of incest, many genetic disorders can be present in
the offspring of incestuous relationships. Some of the health issues that rulers, like Ptolemy VIII
Physcon, had can be linked to incest. The Ptolemies were not native Egyptians, however, they began

It is believed that the Ptolemies pursed these marriages because they were symbolic of power. The
Ptolemies were characterized by their excessive behavior that was not common in Egyptian, Greek, or
Macedonian culture. The Greeks especially, found incest to be punishable by the gods and a loss of
self control (Ager, 2006, p. 166). The first sibling marriage to occur was between paternal half
siblings, Arsinoe II and Ptolemy Keraunos. However, this couple was problematic and not long after
Keraunos was killed in battle and Arsinoe conducted the first full sibling marriage to Ptolemy II. This
marriage gave the nickname Philadelphos , or Sibling lover , to the couple (Ager, 2006, p. 167).
Arsinoe II and Ptolemy II start the trend of sibling marriages with the next generation marrying
Ptolemy IV and Arsinoe III, but also Ptolemy V being born from this union (Ager, 2006, p. 167 168).

Leadership Styles of Ceos
Introduction:
Change is a basic part of life. Leaders, whether it be the CEO of the company or you, must anticipate
forces that will cause changes, identify opportunities that will require changes, react to unforeseen
events that make changes imperative, and work with others to overcome the predictable reactions to
change, which almost always include some amount of resistance, often to a significant degree.
As a leader, you sometimes need to be conservator of values and institutions that come under attack.
Knowing when to change and when to preserve is vital leadership ability.

to do or how to do it. As the book states, a good leader can start a process by adopting it, but is how

followers that allowed them to continue. They recognized that they could not handle all tasks and
needed the talents of others to compensate for whatever strengths they may have lacked. In

Rhode Island s Public Policy Guidelines Essay
Abstract
Rhode Islands Future has been established to resolve Rhode Island s need to address the issues of a
failing elementary and secondary education system. Currently, Rhode Island students are being
outperformed by Massachusetts students on national tests. Although Rhode Island and Massachusetts
spend about the same on public education per student. Differences are identified in the management of
the schools and the degree of state influence. The main issues focused in this research will be on
examining and determining if Rhode Island should adopt more of the management and governance
models that Massachusetts uses, which could open the door for empowered schools in Rhode Island.
Proposed public policy guidelines, best practices, evaluations on potential educational funding, cost
benefit analysis, and risks will be analyzed. Finally, this report will look into what possible
recommendations could be made from the outcome of this research.
Introduction
Focusing on Rhode Island s future, which encompasses the education of our youth is a continuing
topic of discussion. However, it is emphasized when neighboring states are outperforming Rhode
Island s public school children. Complicating the issue is the performance of Rhode Island public
school children fall near or even slightly below the national average on several standardized tests.

We Are What We Now Eat By Ivan Darias Alfonso And Black...
Food as a Way to Maintain and Find Identity in the Diaspora As people migrate to a foreign country,
they often look for ways to connect culturally with their new home country. Unfortunately, sometimes
immigrants have trouble dealing with an identity crisis, either identifying with their old culture or with
their new culture. One way of coping with this cultural change is through food. Food can help give
people a sense of belonging and identity. What Was Served by Douglas Bauer, We Are What We Now

food and identity. Alfonso, Bauer and Balakian show how food allows people reconnect with their
native culture meanwhile, Alfonso and Balakain also show how food can help immigrants adapt to a

with their native country in a completely new country. I have experienced this first hand through my
Spanish heritage. I am a first generation American on my mom s side, meaning that I am the first

background. However, when my parents became less occupied with work, they were able to instill

Effects Of Child Death Rates On Children
As a child, everyone remembers having to get shots. My first memorable experience with shots came
at age four. I didn t understand why I needed shots. All I knew was this sharp thing was going to be
stuck in my arm and it was going to hurt. Before I got my four year old shots I received my first set of
vaccines, vaccines that people are now claiming are dangerous. Research shows that child death rates
have been reduced by more than half since 1990 due to vaccinations (Asia News Monitor). The
vaccinations are given though out infancy and childhood to prepare the immune system against any
possible outbreak of these potentially fatal diseases. Vaccinations involve an injection of, in most
cases, an attenuated version ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both have reasons to believe what they do. It has been known that ever since the vaccines for diseases
like diphtheria and measles were introduced in the twentieth century, the number of deaths related to
these diseases decreased by more than 500 percent. On the other hand, the mid twentieth century was
also the time when such indicators as nutrition, sanitation and healthcare, and other important factors
of spreading vaccine preventable diseases have been greatly improved (McMahon Pratt, 2005). It is
rather difficult to objectively determine what influenced the decrease in the number of deaths the
invention of antibiotics in the 1940 s, the improvement of sanitation and healthcare standards, or the
introduction of certain vaccines. Those opposing mandatory vaccination choose to believe that it was
the first two factors rather than the third one. There are facts to support both versions. For example,
death rates from the pertussis (whooping cough) declined from 12,000 deaths per year in 1905 to less
than 1,000 deaths per year in 1950 12 times less. But as the pertussis vaccine was not widespread until
late 1940 s, we can logically assume it obviously was not the vaccine that influenced the mentioned
decrease. At the same time, since the vaccine was introduced and

He selected his alias to be Makaveli, though spelled differently, is a pseudonym for the 16th century
Italian philosopher Nicolo Machiavelli. Machiavelli wrote a book titled The Prince, in which the main
character fakes his death in order to fool his enemies. 2Pac studied Machiaveli in depth while in
prison, was a fan, and had read his books several times. Perhaps Tupac was taking his advice? He
certainly has enemies on the East coast, most of who are connected to Bad Boy Entertainment, a rival
of Death Row. In 1994, 2Pac was shot five times in New York City while he was on his way to the

Holden Caulfield Belonging
The Catcher in the Rye, a novel written by J. D. Salinger is a story about a unique yet troubled boy
named Holden Caulfield. Salinger masterfully depicts the story s protagonist as a well rounded
character who feels the full range of emotions. Holden is consumed by the desire to live in a world
where he can play the hero and surround himself with love and acceptance. Holden s need for love and
belonging, however, creates an irony because it provokes an intense aversion to society that pushes
Holden further away from achieving a sense of belonging. While in several ways Holden epitomizes
the average teenager, he is also exceptionally unique and shows maturity beyond his years. According
to Granville Hicks, Salinger depicts a character ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An individual on the third level the need for love and belonging seeks to overcome loneliness, give
love, and receive love in a stable way (47). For example, instead of staying at Pencey until
Wednesday, like Holden is supposed to, he attempts to go to New York and escape the loneliness that
Pencey brings him. His decision to leave is set off by his argument with Ackley, a boy in the dorm
next door. I just didn t want to hang around anymore, says Holden, it made me too sad and lonesome
(Salinger 51). Maybe Holden believes that he ll be able to find a sense of belonging in New York. Carl
Strauch infers that Holden s inability to relate to others and constant rejection drive him to humiliation
(506). Since Holden feels Pencey is the source of these painful emotions, it is not surprising that he
seeks to reinvent himself somewhere else so that he may have a chance at having a sense of
belongingness. Similar to Maslow s hierarchy of needs, Alfred Adler had a theory called the style of
life that can be used along with his other theories to assess an individual s internal conflict. On the

the fundamentals of Adlerian psychology. It states that every individual must establish a set of goals

Controversy Regarding Cannabis-Related Legislations in Canada
There is presently much controversy regarding Cannabis related legislations in Canada, as while there
is a great deal of individuals supporting conditions in the present, there are also numerous people who
are against contemporary laws. It is presently illegal to grow cannabis plants in Canada, but the
authorities allow cannabis to be consumed for medical purposes. Many people in Canada believe that
cannabis should be legalized in the country, with some of the most recent polls pointing toward the
belief that the majority of individuals in the country consider that the substance should not be illegal.
Although it would be difficult to assess the effects that legalizing cannabis would have, it is only safe
to assume that the government should express more tolerance concerning the substance, considering
that more than half of Canada s population has expressed its support in regard to the drug.
Individuals who consume cannabis for recreational purposes are certain that the fact that this
substance is included in the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act as illegal is proof that the authorities
directly discriminate them on account of their substance orientation.
Canada has a history in debating the use of cannabis and the circumstances when it can be beneficial
for the consumer and for society as a whole. The Canadian federal government encourages protection

In The Hunger Games, only the capitol controls all the other twelve remote districts they set the rules

  • 2. The Themes Of Motherhood In Peter The Park Motherhood feeling blooms in each woman s heart. As a little girl, motherhood is practiced through doll as if it is her baby. As a woman grows up, she creates her dreams of being a mother, strong bond, and attachment to this world; she naturally belongs to this hood. Motherhood then becomes waking up in the middle of the night to make sure that her child is well tucked in and to give her full attention, care, and love to a child. It is a harsh world, tiredness and exhaustion sometimes. Through the endless journey, she consumes her real, metal and emotional power and energy for the sake of her own children s comfort and happiness. Strangely, if asking any mother about her life as a mother? She would happily say that being a mom is the most satisfying feeling she has ever had. Most important chore in motherhood trip is to teach a child to grow up, as nothing equals the happiness of a mother when finally, she knows that she raised a successful human being. As we will learn in this essay, how is Peter s mother in Peter the Rabbit is different than Charles s mother in Voices in The Park . Both stories hold the Growing up process theme. We ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Also, believing in your child and forgive him would make him doesn t fear the unknown. Peter s mother forgives him because she knows he learned his lesson. First, she was right when she warned him to stay away from the garden, second, he learned to be responsible and depend on himself. He now knows how Mr. Rabbit cars or him and love him and she will always be there for him no matter what happens even if he makes some mistakes. That is fundamentally important; each child should know and feel that way; secured and loved. Love and care are absent in the case of Charles. His mother keeps a gap between him and careless; he is mentally paralyzed because of his mother s selfishness. Charles cannot grow up ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It s probably none of my business really I cut Jack off, as I dreadfully ask him, What. What happened yesterday. Did they change something about the plan without telling me? Well... Jack drives for a few seconds before he stubbornly starts to explain, Your parents came over to my house and explained to me that you actually did, well everything you did, that the reason that you were expelled and had to move was that you would vandalize a lot of stuff beyond school property. Like stuff I guess that were similar to what you did just know. The last thing they told me was to not pick you up from somewhere if you called to ask me to tonight, they told me that if you called me tonight I should get your address from you and call the police to get you instead. They told you to not pick me up? Yeah. They told you to send the police? Yeah or tell them. How did they tell you to tell them? Jack replies, They told me to call this number. Jack opens his car s glove compartment and takes out a folded piece of paper and hands it to me. They gave me this paper and sometime later I drove over here to pick you up. • 4. Islamic Organizations Post World War II As we get farther into the book, I become more intrigued into the events that took place in America in regards to Islam. I never actually knew the broader history behind the enlargement of Islam in the United States. The formation of different Islamic organizations post World War II was very interesting, because it created a society where Muslim immigrants can unite; such as the Nation of Islam and the FIA. I found that the sociological, and political aspects of these religion based communities and organizations were very relevant to the issues that many Muslims had to deal with. However, some of the organization s teachings and actions seemed questionable. Also, the book is very difficult to understand as it gets very in depth with fact after fact but not much background information, which makes it hard to follow the points that author, Kambiz GhaneaBassiri is trying to get across. That being said, I would like to focus on the chapter 6 readings, and the author s style of writing. To begin with, throughout the book, A History of Islam in America, the author has a specific style of writing where he makes the book extremely dense to read. From chapter one to chapter six so far, there is a lot of information that he gives us as readers with fact after fact, but not a lot of detail on the main points that he is trying to make. This can make the reading that we have been doing highly confusing to understand. As he begins to make a very significant point that had to do with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After some research, I found out that cardinal sine could not be solved by elementary means and that its integral was, in fact, a crucial part of the Gibbs phenomenon, which will be expanded upon in the Applications section (Pg. 8) of this investigation. My aim for this investigation is to prove the integral of cardinal sine to be sine integral and to approximate five (5) values of the sine integral function. Afterwards, I will show how this is relevant in both mathematics and other, more practical, applications. Exploration In order to organize the mathematical exploration most effectively, the exploration will begin with the following problem: Prove that ∫▒sin⁡ x/x is equal to Si (x). Approximate Si (0), Si (π/6), Si (π/4), Si (π/3), and Si (π/2) using a Taylor polynomial of order 3 at 0 for f(x) = Si (x). In order to verify the results of the approximations, Wolfram Alpha, an online calculator capable of processing the sine integral function, will be used. To begin with, the Taylor series representation of the sine integral function is as such: Si (x)=∑_(n=0 )^∞▒(( 1)^n x^(2n+1))/(2n+1)(2n+1)! At this point, it is necessary to find the Taylor series representation of sin⁡ x/x. First, the Taylor series representation of sin (x) is: ∑_(n=0)^∞▒(〖( 1)〗^n x^(2n+1))/(2n+1)! Therefore, sin⁡ x/x is equal to: 1/x ∑_(n=0)^∞▒(〖( 1)〗^n x^(2n+1))/(2n+1)! Which is equal to: ∑_(n=0)^∞▒(〖( 1)〗^n x^(2n+1))/x(2n+1)! ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This novel, The Grapes of Wrath, relates to some of the many times of violence and cruelty that this America has seen. During the Dust Bowl, hundreds of thousands of southerners faced many hardships, which is the basis of the novel called The Grapes of Wrath. It was written to portray the harsh conditions during the Dust Bowl. When one considers the merit of this novel, one thinks, how can Americans treat other Americans so horribly. In chapter 21, the workers are in California and the mild people of California find in the Okies what they have yet to experience fear and desperation. Sensing the extent to which the migrants are willing to work, the locals begin to fear for their own jobs, and most importantly, for their own property. In fearful defense, they attack the Okies as marauders who mean to destroy both populations through their desperation. This fear transforms into hostility, which reveals itself in the story through the deputies and managers who abuse and assault the Joads, as well as other migrant families in the workers camps. Throughout the novel there are several symbols used to develop the theme; man verses a hostile environment. Each symbol used in the novel show examples of both extremes. Some represent man that struggles against the environment; others paint a clear picture of the feelings of the migrants. As each symbol is presented chronologically through the novel, like the turtle at the beginning and then the dust. They all come together at the end to paint a clear picture of the conditions, treatment and feelings the people (migrants) as they make their journey through the novel to the West. George Orwell wanted to target the British rule and to support the idea of a Democratic Government. Stem cell research is the study and use of embryonic and adult cells towards development of medical science. The study of stem cells has become a major focus in the world of medicine because of its great potential to cure common illnesses such as; Parkinson s disease, cerebral palsy and diabetes. The study of maturing stem cells gives scientists insight into possible cures for these diseases and potentially can give information on how they occur. History and development of stem cell research Stem cell research was first developed in the mid 1800 s when scientists discovered the cells ability to produce other cells. The first medical attempt to use harvested cells was in the early 1900 s when scientists tried to fertilized eggs outside the human body. The first successful attempt to use stem cells from bone marrow was in 1968 which was an allogeneic transplant between two siblings. Since then stem cell research has developed as the medical world gains new understanding of the cells potential. The use of adult stem cells in modern world medicine such as leukemia and heart disease shows the progress the scientific world has made. • 18. How The Genetic Transformation And Determine The... Aim The aim of the experiment was to observe the genetic transformation and determine the transformation efficiency of the bacteria, E.Coli. Introduction Injection of DNA into cells which results in the inheritance of traits contained in the DNA injected is known as genetic transformation (Lorenz et al, 1994). Genetic transformation that occurs naturally has resulted in evolution. The efficiency and rate of exchange of genetic material can be increased if both organisms use the same system of genetic information storage e.g. DNA plasmid (Johnsborg et al, 2007). The bacteria E.Coli which are used in the experiment are sensitive to antibiotic, they do not glow and are easily transformed (Dickson, 2008). Bacteria are single celled which increases the result of an uptake of substance, and E.Coli have circular DNA or better known as plasmids. These plasmids can be replicated and passed on to the next generation. The plasmids added to the colonies will be used as the medium for insertion and expression of the foreign DNA sequence (Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, No Date). A gene carrying the GFP or Green Fluorescent Protein is used in the experiment. GFP is found naturally in the North American jellyfish, Aequorea Victoria, and is harmless hence leading to its usage as a tool to study gene expression in an organism as they are easily visible (Dickson, 2008). GFP causes an organism to glow under UV light. Escherichia Coli or E.Coli is considered as a gram negative bacteria. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Furthermore, both Australia and the U.S. are federated nations, wherein governmental power is shared between national and state governments. This essay will review the similarities and differences between Australian and American government by exploring their federation, party systems, and their legislative, executive, and judicial branches. Paths to Independence In order to understand the origins of both governmental structures, a discussion of each nation s historical independence is required first. On 1 January, 1901, six British colonies came together to form the Commonwealth of Australia. This outcome was the result of deliberation, consultation, and debate, unlike many other nations that unified as a result of war or conflict (PEO). Popular support for federation came from a realization of the inefficiencies associated with near self governance while subordinated to the British Parliament. In 1889, Premier of New South Wales Sir Henry Parkes encouraged the colonies to federate; from 1890 to 1899 a series of conferences and conventions were held to create a constitution (PEO). At the turn of the 20th century, the British parliament passed the Commonwealth of Australia Constitution Act, and Queen Victoria signed it soon after (Office of Parliamentary Counsel). This paper would try to decipher the pathophysiology of gastric acid secretion and explain the changes process in different types of disorders such as gastritis, peptic ulcer disease, and gastroesophageal reflux disease. To begin talking about acid production and secretion, we have first to consider talking about the physiology of the stomach. The stomach consists of three basic parts, the fundus the body and the antrum, which are divided into two glandular regions, the oxyntic, and pyloric mucosa (Lewis, Heitkemper and Dirksen, 2014). Some common disorders associated with gastric acid secretion are gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcer disease (PUD), and gastritis. For example, in gastroesophageal reflux disease, high gastric contents enter and remain in the lower part of the esophagus due to weakened esophageal sphincter, abdominal pressure, hiatal hernia, alcohol consumption or cigarettes smoking. Usually, the lower esophageal sphincter maintains enough pressure around the lower end of the esophagus to close it and prevent reflux (McPhee and Hammer, 2012). Sometimes the pressure in the stomach exceeds the pressure in the esophagus, causes the sphincter to open and gastric contents penetrate the esophagus which cause pain and irritation. Peptic ulcer diseases (PUD) and gastritis disorders, however; are primarily caused by bacterial infection with helicobacter pylori and acid secretions also play a major role (McPhee and Hammer, 2012). Food as a Way to Maintain and Find Identity in the Diaspora As people migrate to a foreign country, they often look for ways to connect culturally with their new home country. Unfortunately, sometimes immigrants have trouble dealing with an identity crisis, either identifying with their old culture or with their new culture. One way of coping with this cultural change is through food. Food can help give people a sense of belonging and identity. What Was Served by Douglas Bauer, We Are What We Now Eat by Ivan Darias Alfonso and Black Dog of Fate by Peter Balakian s shows a correlation between food and identity. Alfonso, Bauer and Balakian show how food allows people reconnect with their native culture meanwhile, Alfonso and Balakain also show how food can help immigrants adapt to a new one. Writing my first two essays allowed me to realize that it is possible for people to reconnect with their native country in a completely new country. I have experienced this first hand through my Spanish heritage. I am a first generation American on my mom s side, meaning that I am the first person on my mom s side of the family to be born in the United States. Because my parents were busy with work and I was mostly raised by American nannies, I grew up without a sense of my Spanish identity. At a very young age, I did not know a lot about where I came from and my native background. However, when my parents became less occupied with work, they were able to instill vital cultural values ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Since the United States deficit is up to eighteen trillion dollars, electing a conservative economist like Carly Fiorina seems to be the most practical option for recovery. Fiorina is well versed in dealing with cost effective issues that has given her the tools necessary to rebuild the country s budget crisis. In addition, she worked her way up to become president of Lucent Technologies and was named The Most Powerful Woman in American Business after leading Lucent to become the most successful IPO in history. The answer to reform this country s economy is to treat it like a business. Among all the politicians that advocate reform, Fiorina possesses the business acumen we need in our President. All I knew was this sharp thing was going to be stuck in my arm and it was going to hurt. Before I got my four year old shots I received my first set of vaccines, vaccines that people are now claiming are dangerous. Research shows that child death rates have been reduced by more than half since 1990 due to vaccinations (Asia News Monitor). The vaccinations are given though out infancy and childhood to prepare the immune system against any possible outbreak of these potentially fatal diseases. Vaccinations involve an injection of, in most cases, an attenuated version ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Both have reasons to believe what they do. It has been known that ever since the vaccines for diseases like diphtheria and measles were introduced in the twentieth century, the number of deaths related to these diseases decreased by more than 500 percent. On the other hand, the mid twentieth century was also the time when such indicators as nutrition, sanitation and healthcare, and other important factors of spreading vaccine preventable diseases have been greatly improved (McMahon Pratt, 2005). It is rather difficult to objectively determine what influenced the decrease in the number of deaths the invention of antibiotics in the 1940 s, the improvement of sanitation and healthcare standards, or the introduction of certain vaccines. Those opposing mandatory vaccination choose to believe that it was the first two factors rather than the third one. There are facts to support both versions. For example, death rates from the pertussis (whooping cough) declined from 12,000 deaths per year in 1905 to less than 1,000 deaths per year in 1950 12 times less. But as the pertussis vaccine was not widespread until late 1940 s, we can logically assume it obviously was not the vaccine that influenced the mentioned decrease. Perhaps Tupac was taking his advice? He certainly has enemies on the East coast, most of who are connected to Bad Boy Entertainment, a rival of Death Row. In 1994, 2Pac was shot five times in New York City while he was on his way to the studio, and he claimed that Bad Boy had something to do with the failed hit. In any case, his name change became fully complete on his posthumous album, where he states in the booklet, Exit: 2Pac, Enter: Makaveli. An eerie three fingered handprint also appears on the inside of the Makaveli booklet. Tupac had two of his fingers shot off during the September 7th shooting. Is it coincidence? It is strange that an autopsy was never performed on the body (since when don t you autopsy a murder victim?), and 2Pac s family reportedly cremated his body the day after he died. No one outside of the family has seen Tupac s dead body, other than the doctors, who could have easily been paid off with Tupac s riches. • 32. Holden Caulfield Belonging The Catcher in the Rye, a novel written by J. D. Salinger is a story about a unique yet troubled boy named Holden Caulfield. Salinger masterfully depicts the story s protagonist as a well rounded character who feels the full range of emotions. Holden is consumed by the desire to live in a world where he can play the hero and surround himself with love and acceptance. Holden s need for love and belonging, however, creates an irony because it provokes an intense aversion to society that pushes Holden further away from achieving a sense of belonging. While in several ways Holden epitomizes the average teenager, he is also exceptionally unique and shows maturity beyond his years. According to Granville Hicks, Salinger depicts a character ... For example, instead of staying at Pencey until Wednesday, like Holden is supposed to, he attempts to go to New York and escape the loneliness that Pencey brings him. His decision to leave is set off by his argument with Ackley, a boy in the dorm next door. I just didn t want to hang around anymore, says Holden, it made me too sad and lonesome (Salinger 51). Maybe Holden believes that he ll be able to find a sense of belonging in New York. Carl Strauch infers that Holden s inability to relate to others and constant rejection drive him to humiliation (506). Since Holden feels Pencey is the source of these painful emotions, it is not surprising that he seeks to reinvent himself somewhere else so that he may have a chance at having a sense of belongingness. Controversy Regarding Cannabis-Related Legislations in Canada There is presently much controversy regarding Cannabis related legislations in Canada, as while there is a great deal of individuals supporting conditions in the present, there are also numerous people who are against contemporary laws. It is presently illegal to grow cannabis plants in Canada, but the authorities allow cannabis to be consumed for medical purposes. Many people in Canada believe that cannabis should be legalized in the country, with some of the most recent polls pointing toward the belief that the majority of individuals in the country consider that the substance should not be illegal. Although it would be difficult to assess the effects that legalizing cannabis would have, it is only safe to assume that the government should express more tolerance concerning the substance, considering that more than half of Canada s population has expressed its support in regard to the drug. Individuals who consume cannabis for recreational purposes are certain that the fact that this substance is included in the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act as illegal is proof that the authorities directly discriminate them on account of their substance orientation.
