Steve Wozniak s Journey to Creating Apple Computers Essay
Steve Wozniak was the kind of person who liked to tell jokes and pull pranks at the schools he
attended. During high school, he decided he wanted to become an engineer. He graduated with honors
from Homestead High School, California in 1968. He tried to convince his family to send him to
Colorado University for the engineering program, but his family encouraged him to go to a nearby
community college in California instead. After going to the community college to register for classes,
he found out that the calculus, physics, and chemistry classes he wanted to attend were all full. So
Steve went back to his parents to tell them the news, and they agreed to send him to Colorado
University for his first year of college. He was not a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1971, he and his friend Bill Hernandez designed a pretty good computer and his mother was
impressed. She contacted a local newspaper company to do a report on it. They were very excited to
explain the operation and specs to the reporter, but that is not how it happened. When the reporter
came to see the computer, they started the computer up and the blinking lights came on. After that,
someone stepped on the power cord, which caused the computer to start smoking, and then stopped
working. He left quickly and only wrote a small article on it. Steve Wozniak decided it was time to
choose a school based on its engineering program. He chose to go to the University of California at
Berkeley, because it was one of the best. This is where he met the most important friend, Steve Jobs.
He was five years younger than Wozniak and still attending Homestead high school. But they had
many things in common, including the same first name, the love of pranks, and computers. Before
starting his fourth year of college, Steve Wozniak decided he needed to get a job again. He looked
through the newspaper and found a position as an electronics technician at Electroglass. His duty was
to test electronics equipment all day long. He loved the job, but found a better one through his old pal
Allen Baum. Allen was working at Hewlett Packard, an electronics company in Palo Alto., CA. In
1973 Allen introduced Steve to a few of the engineers there. H P offered Wozniak a job

Eurice Kennedy Shriver Research Paper
In 1962, Eunice Kennedy Shriver, sister of John F. Kennedy, started Camp Shriver on her farm in
Maryland. This turned into what we know today as the Special Olympics. Shriver also did a lot of
other work to benefit the lives of many people with intellectual disabilities. But before all of that, she
was born in 1921 and grew up in Brooklyn, Massachusetts along side her eight brothers and sisters.
She went on to attend college at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California where she received a
Bachelor of Arts degree. One of Eurices sisters, Rosemary, was born with a mild mental retardation.
Rosemary had brain surgery to try and help her condition, which ended up making it worse. This had a
big impact on Eurice and her family. Because of this, Eurice was very exposed to people with
intellectual disabilities while growing up, which is what ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

work in social justice. During that time she ran a juvenile agency, worked inside a prison to learn more
about prisoners, and worked with people who were released from prison, even inviting some of them
to live in her home. She then moved to Chicago and worked in the Chicago Juvenile Court. Up until
her death on August 11h, 2009 at the age of 88, Eurice continued to work with individuals with
intellectual disabilities and was still on the Board of Directors for the Special Olympics. Shriver was
honored in many different countries for all the work she did for those individuals. She received
honorary degrees from 11 different universities including Yale University, the College of the Holy

Chapter 1
The statement applies an everyday situation to the reader and give the reader what to apply from the
information they were given. Everyday situation was about giving the salesclerk your credit card. We
never view a situation other ways until we process the information we were given. You had to think
about someone who is reliable to use my credit card information. The author attacked us with a lot of
information we might not have understood in order to carefully apply the word they uses to

I noticed a complete change in paragraphs between the draft and final. Paper 2 was completely
different from paper one because Discussion Board started the process for the paper. Discussion Board
three was to input your idea on how to do paper two. It was somewhat of an outline to the paper. On
paper one, I didn t place any thought into the paper. I just went with the flow. On paper two, I used the
discussion as a reference to what to write in the paper. I took more time in editing the paper two. What
I learned that is going to help me created better paper is started my paper with an outline.
Processes
Thinking back to the beginning of the semester, I improved in fixing my mistakes in my writing.
Whenever I review and edit my drafts, I would usually overlook most mistakes because I would just
read my draft but not look at the mistakes I commit. In my paper one draft, Opening, social mind bugs

Opening, social mind bugs are traits humans have developed to become social: humans are social

noticed that I can remove the word opening, and I could have used a semicolon instead of a colon. I
improved on looking for grammar mistakes. I started using a trick my tutor recommended for me to
use when I am editing my paper. I should read my draft slower, so I

Psychodynamic Approach
The psychodynamic approach on the study of human behaviour is based around the work of Sigmund
Freud.
Freud believed that when people explainied their own behaviour to themselves or to someone else, we
rarely gave a true account of our motivation. However, this wasn t because people are trying to lie on
purpose. Freud suggested that the majority of human behaviour is influenced by things we are not
consciously aware of and that our deeper motivations are not seen but hidden away. Freud called the
part of the mind that we do know about and are aware of, the conscious and the part we don t know
about and are unaware of, the unconscious . Freud also said that between our conscious and
unconscious state, we have our middle, the preconscious. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

While one of husbands is visiting her, she would put weapons in front of her house, to notify the other
husbands jus in case they decided to visit her at the time when one of her other husbands was there.
Instead of relying on her husbands to protect her, provide her with food, money and things husbands
would normally provide, the Nayar women relied on their brothers or sisters.
Comparing these cultures to each other, you can see that they are very different. For one the Ik culture
don t have concern for family at all while the Pomo Indians think life is all about family but the Nayar
Society didn t seem to think of themselves as family but as associates to each other to carry the
generation on. From looking at the positive views on family, I would say that the Pomo Indians are the
most caring culture out of the three cultures, and while the Ik may seem like a horrible culture, I
would say that the Nayar Society is the worst as it seems like a disorganised and uncaring culture.
When it comes to my culture, we believe that family is very, very important. We believe that you need

My Favorite Memories
Some of the most vivid memories from my childhood were born and raised in a military housing
neighborhood located off the base in Warminster, Pennsylvania. My favorite memory however, was
the time my brother and I met one of our childhood best friends. I still remember it as if it happened
yesterday, no matter how much dust it collects in the back of my head, I can always blow it off and
replay it in my mind as if it was the first time seeing it through my eyes. One humid summer day my
older brother and I were outside in the backyard. I want to say I was 6 and my brother was 8, but we
were probably younger. The small fenced in space was just on the edge of the forest which allowed the
ground to be covered in dead pine needles that the trees would cast to the wind. We were bored as
ever, discontent with the neglected pair of swings and lonely slide that had been untouched for most of
the summer. They called to us, but our boredom, unable to be satisfied by such a simple fix, declined
their invitation. We sat in a pair of lawn chairs that were set up against the white fence dividing our
yard from the neighbors . That s when I heard the sound of springs on a trampoline only a few
backyards down. It was a girl. The first thing I thought: cooties. She looked to be my brother s age,
and she was. With that being said, we decided to mess with this poor girl by calling out to her, only to
quickly duck down behind the safety of our fence. We were hooligans. This was probably not

Listening About Electronic Health Records
The purpose of this paper is to talk about Electronic Health Records (EHRs). Throughout the paper, I
will state the EHR mandate, who started it and when, its goals and objectives. I will explain how is the
Affordable Care Act (ACA) connected to the EHR. Furthermore, I will describe my facility s plan and
meaningful use. Finally, I will define Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
laws and what is being done by my facility to prevent HIPAA violation.
Description of the Electronic Health Record
EHRs are computerized versions of patient s paper charts. EHRs makes the health information about
the patient accessible anywhere at any time. EHR holds the pertinent information about a patient s
medical history, medications, immunization record, allergies, radiology and other diagnostic images,
and lab results (Health Information Technology (Health IT), 2013). EHR makes patient care safer by
bringing together all health records from previous and current doctors, as well as pharmacies and
different diagnostic facilities.
In 2004, President George W. Bush issued an order for implementation of EHR in hope to help
improve the quality and effectiveness of health care in the United States (United States (U.S.)
Department of Health Human Services, 2008). The Office of National Coordinator (ONC) for Health
IT established Strategic Plan to establish coordinated transition for all Americans to have access to
EHR by 2014.
The EHR mandate has two goals, and each of these

Philip Larkin s Faith Healing Essay
How typical in terms of subject, theme, structure and versification is Faith Healing by Larkin? Philip
Larkin s Faith Healing In 1964, Philip Larkin published his third book of poetry, entitled The Whitsun
Weddings . One of the many critically acclaimed poems was Faith Healing . In this essay, I intend to
explore how typical this poem is in terms of subject, theme, structure and versification. In Faith
Healing, women flock to an American Faith Healer for a blessing. The persona of the poem is written
from an outsider s point of view, looking in at this sight. Faith Healing is divided into three stanzas,
each of ten lines. Iambic pentameter is used to give 5 major stresses to each of the 10 lines. The three
stanzas ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By now, all s wrong . It is interesting to note that with all 3 of these poems, Larkin adopts a personal
persona. He is omniscient; in Mr Bleaney, it is as though he is a man looking for accommodation; in
Here, it is as though he is the one on a journey and in Faith Healing, he is present, observing this
spectacle. Therefore, I feel that Mr Bleaney and Here are closely linked to Faith Healing in terms of
structure and versification. Faith Healing is an ambiguous poem that seems critical of religion. At the
start of the poem, many flock to the Faith Healer but by the third stanza, the 20 seconds with the
American seem to have ruined their lives. They have had their true feelings and emotions unlocked
and have realised that they have never really been loved. An immense slackening ache. Spreads slowly
through them . The Faith Healer thaws these emotions and we see the women suffer a sense of real
loneliness and depression as this reality dawns. This strongly correlates with the theme in Mr Bleaney,
a poem exploring loneliness and the fear in which it evokes. In the poem, we are told of Mr Bleaney s
old room that is cheap and not cared for. The persona explores Bleaney s life. Ironically, he finds he
can identify with him in some respects. So it happens

Analysis of Filming Techniques in Spirited Away
Spirited Away, titled Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi in Japan, follows a young girl named Chihiro on
an adventurous, yet threatening journey into a magical realm after her parents are turned into pigs. She
forms relationships with people that will help her find her way back home such as Haku, Zeniba, and
Mr. Kamaji. She also encounters those like Yubaba who try to make her time in the realm of spirits
difficult. Spirited Away quickly became Japan s highest grossing film of all time. It received many
great reviews in every aspect of filmmaking. It won several awards, including A Golden Bear in 2002
at the Berlin International Film Festival, and an Academy Award in 2003 for Best Animated Film.

Miyazaki also introduces to the audience the importance of one s name. From the moment she gets a
job from Yubaba the bathhouse owner, Chihiro is bound under a contract that magically changes her
name to Sen. If it had not been for a goodbye card from a friend, Chihiro would have forgotten her
real name. As for Haku, he has not been able to recall his own name for years. When he does
remember later in the film, his eyes are opened and he undergoes emotional and physical changes.
Another aspect of Japanese folklore involved in the film highlights passing through spaces which
mark a separation between one world and another. Areas like the bridge to the bathhouse, and the
tunnel to the abandoned theme park represent this part of Japanese culture. However, the most
important cultural aspect included in the film is the original title. When women or children suddenly
disappeared and could not be located for a long period of time, it was assumed they had met
kamikakushi, as Reider puts it. Once they come back from Kamikakushi, they are believed to be
socially resurrected. One could say that in the film Chihiro meets her own Kamikakushi during the
time she is away from her parents.
As she goes through the tunnel at the beginning of the film, Chihiro is a whiny little girl who does not
like change. When she comes out of the tunnel at the end of the film, she is standing tall, fearless, and
confident. This post Kamikakushi is one of many examples of character

The Importance Of Clean Water
Have you ever had a dog that gets their water bowl dirty or spills the water? Dogs need water all the
time and every day of their life, but it has to be fresh, clean water. Clean water is very important to
animals, especially dogs because they exercise and run so much. If they don t get enough water, they
can get dehydrated or even die. Some people don t give dogs clean enough water or even not enough.
The cleanness of water is very important to dogs, dogs help with hunting and sports, they also can be
trained or be taught to do something, but the can also get very dehydrated or get very ill.
Dehydration
When dogs don t drink enough, it causes them to be dehydrated. On the website, it defines
dehydration, Dehydration is a lack of water in the body (Dehydration and Water Needs in Dogs). Most
of the body of dogs is water. Some dogs get way too hot outside and can get dehydrated. Dehydration
can cause many effects in dogs. Dogs will drink more to stay hydrated if it is hotter. Water is used for
most dogs systems. Dog owners have to keep clean water out at all times. If dogs get too dehydrated,
their organs could shut down and they could die ( The Importance of Water for Dog Nutrition ). Some
dogs can get dehydrated easier than others if they have problems or illnesses. Some symptoms of
dehydration are dry mouth or depression. If your dogs are dehydrated, they need to be taken to the vet.
If you always have clean water out for your dogs, you won t need to worry about

Ishiguro Passivity
Ishiguro conveys human desire towards a level of superiority, through a change of current
psychological and physical conditions, that may possibly hinder the ethics and morals of society in
order to build a perceivably ideal reality.
Since long times, humans have stubbornly been on the search for a stronger defense and survival
mechanism, most evidently through human experimentation and modern scientific methods of genetic
alteration through adequate knowledge of genetic influence on human behavior and psychological
development. In Never Let Me Go, Ishiguro portrays the clones as not only being intentioned for the

Ishiguro conveys the clones are as objects of passivity, that in silence and with lack of resistance, cruel
methods are to be experimented on them. In support of this, the quote It was like when you make a
move in chess and just as you take your finger off the piece, you see the mistake you ve made, and
there s this panic because you don t know yet the scale of disaster you ve left yourself open to.
(Ishiguro). The quote makes use of symbolism in the sense that the chess could represent the way
society is structured a hierarchy which could include objects and subjects of research and that control
and are in power. This possibly could refer t the passivity of the cones within this self centered society
that actively force the clones to make passive moves. The evil that passivity brings along is well
resized when the clones finally understand their true purpose in life and that is that their passivity has
led to their own destruction. The reader could apply the psychoanalytic theory to this example.
Perhaps Kathy made use of the sublimation defense mechanism since she later on decides to become a
carer after realizing how badly their lives are being affected perhaps partially due to their lack of
resistance or a fight for their rights and freedom now that she knows there is no undoing directing her
frustration towards something

Sacrifice In Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallow
In today s world, there are many people ready to make sacrifices. Some are doing it for their country,
and some for their family and friends. The definition of sacrifice according to Webster s dictionary is
an act of slaughtering an animal or person or surrendering a possession as an offering to God or to a
divine or supernatural figure. People today do not tend to go by the same definition as others, every
person has their own meaning of sacrifice. To me, a sacrifice is something that everyone should be
willing to make on a daily basis without the fear of death. If people stop making sacrifices, then why
should we expect our soldiers to make sacrifices for us at the border?
One of the finest examples of sacrifice was shown in a film, London has Fallen. In this film all the
world leaders were going to gather for a meeting in the Bellingham Palace. During the event terrorists
attacked the place. The life of the President of the United States was in jeopardy. To safeguard the
president, the US soldiers used an airlift to haul the President to a ... Show more content on

Army Drones Essay
Many industries have included drones into their business. Delivery service, UPS and amazon are
testing drones to deliver packages faster. By just simply having someone control the aircraft with a
remote without moving locations is faster than having someone driving place to place to deliver a
package. Also, the sky has no traffic, thus avoiding all the people and cars on the ground. Some other
industries use the aircraft for aerial view of agriculture to quickly spot issues with crops;
architecture/construction to quickly create concepts of their projects; engineering for inspections;
environmental monitoring; creating or updating maps most notably Apple and Google and the media
for news coverage instead of the expensive helicopter. These are only a couple of the many industries

loss than others. This means that soda has a huge effect on your teeth. We didn t always have a tooth
brush to keep our teeth clean. But now thanks to dental advancements we do. Teeth have been the
same way since the human race has started.even when it s unflavored, fizzy water contains an acid
carbonic acid that gives it its bubbles. That acidity can gradually wear away tooth enamel. Fizzy water
is also in soda meaning that the carbonation in the soda wears away the tooth enamel. The bacteria
contained in the plaque feeds on the sugar in foods you eat or drink. Acids are created in about 20
seconds and last for about 30 minutes. Those acids can

Imagery In The Waste Land
The Mechanics of Time in Relation to Death, Decay, and Infertility in T.S. Eliot s The Waste Land
In my beginning is my end though it is the opening line of the second part of T.S. Eliot s Four
Quartets, one of his later works, it can nonetheless be said to ring true when pertaining to the earlier
The Waste Land, and more particularly when interpreting the way in which time functions within the
poem as well as what derives from its mechanics. From the onset time is an ambiguous notion, never
clearly defined and yet ever present through sometimes subtle, sometimes explicit indicators scattered
throughout the poem, and is moreover always in some way connected to another of The Waste Land s
prominent themes: death and destruction. It is in this that the very nature of time within the poem
becomes perverse; despite the ambiguity surrounding it, we come to understand that time and death
are inextricably tied together in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The ominous promise contained in I will show you fear in a handful of dust encapsulates The Waste
Land s relationship with time in that it can be seen as the ultimate symbol of one of the poem s more
prominent paradoxes. We might call this particular paradox one of unifying fragmentation . Though
things may appear to start out different and distinct, such as individual lives, great works of literature,
or even civilizations, the passage of time ultimately annihilates this individuality and reduces
everything to a single one , the handful of dust . Thus we are bestowed a vision of a world both unified
and yet fragmented, scattered parts of a whole that can be summarized by a single word: wasteland.
This returns us to the constant connection between time and death, as this unification can only be
achieved through the passage of time, and even then it must also be done through a form of

Market Forecast
Introduction
As business becomes more increasingly global, it s very important that countries pay close attention to
foreign exchange exposures in order to design ways of implementing appropriate strategies to properly
deal with these types of exposures. In this paper I will attempt to forecast the degree of transaction,
translation and the economic exposure for Russia. I will follow that by forecasting the degree of these
specific areas and analyzing the various techniques used to mitigate these exposures. The goal of this
paper is to identify a few concepts of transaction, translation, and economic exposure for international
operations in Russia.

Translation Exposure Translation exposure, also frequently called accounting exposure, refers to the
effect that unanticipated change in exchange rates will have on the consolidated financial reports of a
MNC. Translation or Accounting Exposure equals the difference between exposed assets and
liabilities. The trick is to decide what is exposed and what is not. Four methods of foreign currency
translation have been used in recent years, the current/non current method, the monetary/non monetary
method, the
temporal method, and the current rate method. The underlying principle of the current/non current
method is that assets and liabilities should be translated based on their maturity. The monetary/non
monetary method is that monetary accounts have a similarity because their value represents a sum of
money whose currency equivalent after translation changes each time the exchange rate changes.
Under the temporal method, monetary

Violence Against Matthew Shepard Analysis
Many seem to see the violence against Matthew Shepard as a hate crime, which I agree with.
Everything pointed to, from testimonies to evidence, shows that he was attacked due to his sexual
orientation; however, the perpetrators, Aaron McKinney and Russel Henderson, didn t even know
Matt prior to the night of the incident, so how d they know if he was gay or not? They reacted to his
performance in a way that was consistent with their own learned gender performances. This theme of
prejudice was a crime fueled by hate, but facilitated by gender performance. The events seemed to be
documented through theatrical drama, though written in the style of a narrative that tries to present
itself as a true story, through tension. The way Kaufman builds

The Value Of Enterprise And Trade
Today s economy was founded upon the fundamentals of capitalism and continues to find its strength
in the presence of freedom of enterprise and trade. Regulation and taxes are vital in order to support
fairness amongst businesses and to provide funds for the government to develop and maintain the
country s infrastructure. Most companies distribute some of the company s accumulated profits, so
that is why it is important to characterize the distribution under whether it is deductible or not. As
there are many different types of distributions, it is necessary for the tax paying entity to understand
the distribution so that each type can be deducted appropriately. Before we can get into what type of

Tottenham Hotspur s Plans For A New Stadium
In this case study we were given the opportunity to evaluate Tottenham Hotspur s plans for a new
stadium and a new striker. The Chairman of Tottenham, Daniel Levy has focused on three pillars that
he believes could sustain long term success for Spurs. Levy states, If you sign older players at huge
salaries but don t get the immediate football success you dreamed of, you cripple yourself (p.2). The
pillars are: the development of a new stadium, the building of a new training facility, and the continual
improvement of the club through prudent player acquisitions during the various transfer windows.
Adhering to these pillars would allow for continued success in both domestic and European football,
as well as the development of the company s assets. Ultimately, this would allow for the club to build
their brand, which in turn will lead to greater revenues being streamed in. Not only is the club historic,
but it also possesses 20 million fans worldwide. As a result, in 2008 White Hart Lane sold out every
game and there was a 20,000 person waiting list for seating tickets. With soccer gaining more traction
worldwide, more fans are likely to flock to games. The club receives revenues from four major
sources: attendance, sponsorship, merchandise sales, and broadcast rights. Its main costs are players
salaries and the costs of operating the stadium. White Hart Lane cannot be renovated to include 60,000
seats. Thus, if Tottenham wants to expand their potential for revenues they

John Locke, an English philosopher, also known as the father of Classical Liberalism, said in 1690
from Two Treatises on Government ; [On the state of nature] To understand political power aright, and
derive it from its original, we must consider what estate all men are naturally in, and that is, a state of
perfect freedom to order their actions, and dispose of their possessions and persons as they think fit,

Evaluating High School Students
As a high school student, there are a multitude of things that can factor what type of student you are.
High school students, and just students in general are put under lots of stress and are given high
expectations. Yet, many kids fail to reach these expectations. All in all, students are evaluated on test
scores and how they perform in school. Studying the factors that can affect a student s overall school

Gender Issues Within The Society Essay
Gender issues in society have incited growing debates and an analyzing or in a sense a calling out of
of writers, books, movies, celebrities, historical figures on their views. It is really not a surprise that
C.S. Lewis being a popular figure back in time has found his work under scrutiny over his views and
writing off women. It is quite easy to dismiss his views as being a product of that time and therefore
dismissing any claims on labeling him .To some it is not so easy to simply dismiss him as a product of
his time, acquiring him different labels. Lewis because of his beliefs and writing has been too labelled
as either a misogynist or a sexist. These two labels while from the same grouping there is a distinction
between the two. An argument can arise from this, which is was Lewis merely a sexist or was he a
misogynist based on his writings and beliefs?
Sexism is usually defined as a discrimination based on gender (in this case women), while misogyny
comes from two Greek words, misein , to hate, and gyne woman. Sexism is reflected views of socially
constructed views of gender like girls cannot be leaders. Misogyny, on the other hand, isn t merely a
strong version of sexism it is a feeling of contempt or anger one can express at women for challenging
the norms of what women should look and act like. As pointed out before different scholars saw his
work from this view. In the Daughters of Lilith text, the author represents a view that shows Lewis to

Solid Pseudopapillary Neoplasm
Solid pseudopapillary neoplasm (SPN) of the pancreas is a rare cystic tumor that is endocrine in
origin, therefore, typically found in the head and/or body of the pancreas. SPN constitutes about 1% of
all pancreatic neoplasms, but advancements in diagnostic imaging have led to an increase in findings.
Patients with SPN are usually asymptomatic and those with symptoms report generalized abdominal
discomfort. Lab values used to evaluate the pancreas are usually within normal limits. Because these
neoplasms are typically asymptomatic they grow undetected and masses in the head will produce
symptoms associated with obstruction and pancreatitis. A 14 year old female with no known history of
pancreatitis, alcoholism, diabetes, or biliary disease presented for an abdominal sonogram. Her only
symptom was generalized upper abdominal pain with no history of nausea, vomiting, weight loss, or
appetite changes. Ultrasound images showed a well circumscribed, round, hypoechoic 14 mm lesion
within the head of the pancreas and another lesion in the body. Color Doppler analysis showed no

Case Study Psycho Oncology
INTRODUCTION
Psycho oncology is the psychological response of a patient and their family to cancer of all stages of
the disease and also the psychological, behavioural and social factors that may influence the disease
process (Holland et al, 2010). Cancer is a distressing disease, the psychological effect of being
diagnosed with cancer can be signiïŹcant and therefore, holistic care is essential to ensure that patients

O Connor s Short Stories, Good Country People, And A Good...
Sometimes the only thing that is constant in life is change. As time passes on, people, places, and
ideas are bound to change. Not only can people change, but whole societies and generations can as
well. As these changes happen, the differences between generations can become very large, and this
can eventually lead to conflict. In Flannery O Connor s three short stories, Everything that Rises Must
Converge, Good County People, and A Good Man is Hard to Find, the gaps between generations
causes problems. A skewed perspective about both the past and present causes generational conflict in
these stories, and O Connor shows how this narrow mindedness can eventually lead to a catastrophic
ending. Nostalgia for good country values skews the judgment of characters in O Connor s stories. In
Everything That Rises Must Converge Julian s mother is an example of someone who makes a bad

Literary Devices Used In The Raven By Edgar Allen Poe
Matthew Hylton ENG 200 030 December 7, 2017 The Raven Edgar Allen Poe The Raven by Edgar
Allen Poe is a first person narrative poem that is truly a dark poem of one s sanity when losing a loved
one. The poem is eighteen stanzas long that contains 108 lines. The poem uses many literary and
poetic devices to help construct the eerie atmosphere. Poe begins the poem by describing a setting that
symbolizes darkness and death perfectly Once upon a midnight dreary (1). Poe uses an internal rhyme
to heighten the effect of the setting. He does this to foreshadow the events that happen later on in the
poem, that the reader will soon begin to understand the dreariness of the setting. Poe is a mastermind
of using these devices to draw the reader in and help them understand the narrator on a deeper level
during the reading of the poem. As stanza one continues, Poe uses an alliteration in line 3 of the poem,
While I nodded, nearly napping (3), by using the repetition of the n sound throughout the stanza I
would argue he is trying to build suspense of the narrator answering the door. Poe uses many rhyme
schemes throughout the poem to give a bigger meaning to each word. The first stanza is no different.
Poe uses many internal rhymes in the stanza, but even uses an end rhyme in lines 2, 3, 4, and 5. He
uses the rhyme scheme ABCBBB in the first stanza. As Poe continues, the narrator begins to
remember his lost loved one Lenore . Poe begins to go darker into the poem creating an even larger
suspense, and added dramatic effect as the narrator slowly approaches the door to open it. Ah,
distinctly I remember it was in the bleak December; (6) Poe is using symbolism again to further his
dark atmosphere that he created in the first stanza. Poe is trying to get the reader to understand the
severity of the narrator s depression about Lenore . Poe in the very next line continues his emphasis on
the eeriness that is this poem s atmosphere. By describing the embers of the fire going out, he is
creating an image of darkness soon approaching. Because once the embers go out, the light goes out. I
would argue that Poe is foreshadowing even more of what will happen later in the poem. As the stanza
continues, you soon realize

(Milton 3.96). Many authors and poets have tackled the question of why humanity is constantly tested
and tempted to sin, and, further, whether humanity has the free will to decide its own fate. After the
Reformation of the Catholic church that created Protestantism, the idea of predestination was very
popular. Protestant ideology claimed that only a few people were destined to be saved or damned by
God, and that only some people will be saved. This created a general anxiety about faith and free will
in Renaissance England, leading many to question who was at fault when human beings sin. Two of
the most well known epic poems of the Renaissance era are The Faerie Queene by Edmund Spenser
and Paradise Lost by John Milton. Both poems feature characters that face trials and tribulations, and
how the respective poems deal with the trails reveals different ideas about fate, free will, and the idea
of being tested. Both poems use temptation relation to female bodies and sexual desire, diverse
reactions to falling and failure, and prophecy that contribute to two different ideas about free will and
the role of God in the lives of his creations.
Female seduction and sexual temptation are featured both in The Faerie Queene and Paradise Lost, but
are represented in different ways. In Paradise Lost, Eve leads to the eventual downfall of Adam
because she

The Cosby Show Essay
Critics reaction to the The Cosby Show
The Cosby Show created a controversial impression. The auditory liked this show; its positive attitude
was supported by TV ratings. The series had a successful premier and kept high ratings during next
seasons. The Cosby Show achieved a 33.7 rating for 1985 86 and then 34.9 for 1986 87 (Staiger 144).
Experts also gave mostly positive comments; they liked the humor, character s acting, mise en scenes
and the overall impression of episodes. Its overall style of humor and resolution of narrative problems
matched Middle America s taste standards and contemporary views about responsible parenting
(Staiger 159). Critics liked the show as it created deepness in its shallowness . The Cosby Show did

Show s features made it appreciable for different types of the auditory. It could be treated like a
compromise, according to critics. Caucasian Americans liked the show as it represented many
common uniracial problems for the middle class; they wanted to see episodes despite the fact most
characters were representatives of a different race. African Americans were led by similar motives; the
show did not demonstrate specific racial problems, but there still were enough moments, where people
could recognize own situations and experiences. However, this omnitude became both the advantage
and disadvantage of the show in critics eyes. Some of them mentioned that the creation of the less
dangerous, stereotypical image of black people was one of the program s purposes. And it could be too
good in this task: the trouble of The Cosby Show was that it didn t show the day to day racism that
existed in the streets of New York City for the Huxtable children (Staiger 145). Experts also criticized
the abundance of the indoor scenes, but it is the common problem for sitcoms. It is possible to
conclude critics had a positive attitude towards The Cosby Show, as it reflected issues of parenting,
which were common for all races, but slightly criticized it for the excessive whitewash of the African

Need for the IEEE 802 standard
While connecting computers through networks, we need to have set of rules or standards for the data
to travel from one computer to other computers. A very good example of this would be the rules of the
road when driving a car. It is understood why we need traffic rules while driving; in same sense for
data packets to travel from one computer terminal to other terminals, they should also follow set of
rules and regulations. The standards of IEEE 802 help the industry provide advantages such as,
interoperability, low product cost, and easy to manage standards. (EEHerald, 2012)
Standard organizations
As the voice of the U.S. standards and conformity assessment system, the American National
Standards Institute (ANSI) empowers its members and constituents to strengthen the U.S. marketplace
position in the global economy while helping to assure the safety and health of consumers and the
protection of the environment. The Institute oversees the creation and use of thousands of guidelines
that directly impact businesses in nearly every sector: from acoustical devices to construction
equipment, from dairy and livestock production to energy distribution, and many more. ANSI is also
actively engaged in accrediting programs that assess conformance to standards including globally
recognized cross sector programs

The Importance Of A Civic Engagement Opportunity As A...
The Civic Engagement assignment illustrates the value of incorporating a civic engagement
opportunity as a supplement to traditional lecture and reading materials. While this assignment differs
from service learning, the civic learning that takes place during the semester leads to the development
of knowledge, skills, and community contacts that are necessary for active citizenship. As described
throughout this paper, despite the passive sounding title of courtroom observation, this assignment
requires significant interaction and engagement with court personnel to be completed successfully.
Since my father is a sheriff s deputy, it was easy for me to gain clearance to sit in the jury s box and to
watch criminal plea charges. The process I observed was startling because I did not imagine that, in
one morning, a single courtroom could go through almost five pages of client sentences
(approximately forty clients). In addition, I gained a better understanding of how courts operate
without the presence of a jury. Still, I was confused; What is the purpose of the judicial center? Who
else is involved? Are charges fairly made?
It was 7:30 a.m. on Monday, November 7, 2016. I woke up, took a cold shower, put on my formal
attire, and then left with my father to go to the judicial center at the McDonough Square. By 8:00 a.m.,
my father introduced me to the sheriff deputies that had scanned me into the building. Officer Thomas
Palmer, also called Tiny, acted as my tour

Roger waters, band member of Pink Floyd, wrote almost the entire album of The
wall , one of Pink Floyd s most popular albums, a top three sellers, with over 23 million
records sold. He was the singer, songwriter and bassist for Pink Floyd. David Gilmour
wrote the music while he was working on a solo album in 1978. He brought it to The
Wall album sessions and Waters wrote lyrics for it. Gilmour believed that the song,
comfortably numb could be divided into 2 sections: Dark and light. The light parts that
begin When I was a child, which Gilmour sings, the dark parts are, hello is there
anybody in there? parts, which are sung by Roger Waters.
The movie, The wall, was released in 1982. It s shown as one huge music
video, for each song. One of the movie s scenes depicts the song, comfortably numb ,
and is known to be one of the most important songs to the album The Wall. The song
signifies a huge part in Pink s life, showing how the events that happened to the band
member s impacted their lives, including many of Roger Water s real life struggles.
Pink is the character of the band members and Roger Waters himself. The song starts
out with, a voice saying, Hello is there anybody out there? Just nod if you can hear
me, is there anybody home? Anybody home is referring to the feeling of insanity that
Pink is experiencing. Pink is shown sitting in a recliner, with an expressionless face,

Kang s Argument Analysis
In the article, Net neutrality hits a nerve, eliciting intense reactions , Cecilia Kang discusses how the
pending repeal of Net Neutrality by the FCC and Chairman, Ajit Pai, is adamantly contested by most
of the Internet community and most companies, big or small. To develop her argument, Kang uses a
wide variety of appeals from established and startup companies, statistics and evidence related to the
reaction to the repeal, and demonstrations on how polarizing the issue is, and the repeal s effect on
solving the problem of Internet regulation. Kang cites a multitude of Internet based companies or
organizations, such as Mozilla, Google, Netflix, and Free Press, to demonstrate their concern and
clarify their resentment of the repeal. For instance, Google and Netflix argued that telecom companies
should not be able to split sites because that would allow them to become a sort of gatekeeper. These
responses better clarify companies concerns about the repeal and its effect on their business, while
also aiding Kang in developing her article on explaining the concern and the response it has elicited.

According to Kang, Schneiderman, the New York Attorney General, found the fraudulent comments to
be allegedly made with the identities of tens of thousands of state residents and fraudulently used to
post comments to the F.C.C. This poses the risk in believing the massive uproar from the Internet
community on the topic of Net Neutrality because Schneiderman s discovery ushers in criticism about
the validity of the widely posted comments. Lang uses logos from Schneiderman s findings to
elucidate that the massive uproar from the Internet community may just all be a facade due to the
number of bots littering sites with fraudulent

Socrates Death Argument Analysis
Brian Frias

Philosophy 100 M/W 8 9:15
9 February 2015
Socrates Death Arguments Socrates was an ancient philosopher set in Athens, Greece. Socrates, being
known for stirring up arguments amongst the city s wisest men, grew widely unpopular in the
community. This unpopularity, and many other troubles led Socrates to be accused and sentenced to
trial for corrupting the youth, and of not believing in the Gods of the city. During Socrates trial, he
brings up arguments about why we should not fear death, just as he does not. In this essay I will cover
Socrates two arguments about death, their inconsistencies, and explain why Socrates changed his
position about death towards the end of the trial. While Socrates is being held ... Show more content

He starts to talk about how this penalty of death is actually a good thing for him, and he is not angry
for it. Socrates then clearly says that he has proof that death is good. He starts to say that death is a
blessing and there are either two different scenarios of death. The first scenario of death is having no
perception of anything at all and having your soul relocated, like a great dreamless sleep, which in
Socrates eyes is truly a blessing. The second is in which your soul is relocated elsewhere, you are able
to talk to others that have passed like great figures from the past. The alleged inconstancy is clear
between these two arguments. The first argument Socrates states that he does not fear death because
he has no clue what lies beyond. He cannot fear what he does not know of. With both arguments he is
very confident in what he is saying, especially with the second argument claiming that he has proof
that death is good. In the second argument Socrates says that death can be two things and then
proceeds to explain what death is. In that argument, by stating what death is, he is clearly saying that
he has some knowledge about death and is completely contradicting his first

  • 2. Steve Wozniak s Journey to Creating Apple Computers Essay Steve Wozniak was the kind of person who liked to tell jokes and pull pranks at the schools he attended. During high school, he decided he wanted to become an engineer. He graduated with honors from Homestead High School, California in 1968. He tried to convince his family to send him to Colorado University for the engineering program, but his family encouraged him to go to a nearby community college in California instead. After going to the community college to register for classes, he found out that the calculus, physics, and chemistry classes he wanted to attend were all full. So Steve went back to his parents to tell them the news, and they agreed to send him to Colorado University for his first year of college. He was not a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In 1971, he and his friend Bill Hernandez designed a pretty good computer and his mother was impressed. She contacted a local newspaper company to do a report on it. They were very excited to explain the operation and specs to the reporter, but that is not how it happened. When the reporter came to see the computer, they started the computer up and the blinking lights came on. After that, someone stepped on the power cord, which caused the computer to start smoking, and then stopped working. He left quickly and only wrote a small article on it. Steve Wozniak decided it was time to choose a school based on its engineering program. He chose to go to the University of California at Berkeley, because it was one of the best. This is where he met the most important friend, Steve Jobs. He was five years younger than Wozniak and still attending Homestead high school. But they had many things in common, including the same first name, the love of pranks, and computers. Before starting his fourth year of college, Steve Wozniak decided he needed to get a job again. He looked through the newspaper and found a position as an electronics technician at Electroglass. His duty was to test electronics equipment all day long. He loved the job, but found a better one through his old pal Allen Baum. Allen was working at Hewlett Packard, an electronics company in Palo Alto., CA. In 1973 Allen introduced Steve to a few of the engineers there. H P offered Wozniak a job ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This turned into what we know today as the Special Olympics. Shriver also did a lot of other work to benefit the lives of many people with intellectual disabilities. But before all of that, she was born in 1921 and grew up in Brooklyn, Massachusetts along side her eight brothers and sisters. She went on to attend college at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree. One of Eurices sisters, Rosemary, was born with a mild mental retardation. Rosemary had brain surgery to try and help her condition, which ended up making it worse. This had a big impact on Eurice and her family. Freud believed that when people explainied their own behaviour to themselves or to someone else, we rarely gave a true account of our motivation. However, this wasn t because people are trying to lie on purpose. Freud suggested that the majority of human behaviour is influenced by things we are not consciously aware of and that our deeper motivations are not seen but hidden away. Freud called the part of the mind that we do know about and are aware of, the conscious and the part we don t know about and are unaware of, the unconscious . Comparing these cultures to each other, you can see that they are very different. For one the Ik culture don t have concern for family at all while the Pomo Indians think life is all about family but the Nayar Society didn t seem to think of themselves as family but as associates to each other to carry the generation on. From looking at the positive views on family, I would say that the Pomo Indians are the most caring culture out of the three cultures, and while the Ik may seem like a horrible culture, I would say that the Nayar Society is the worst as it seems like a disorganised and uncaring culture. My favorite memory however, was the time my brother and I met one of our childhood best friends. I still remember it as if it happened yesterday, no matter how much dust it collects in the back of my head, I can always blow it off and replay it in my mind as if it was the first time seeing it through my eyes. One humid summer day my older brother and I were outside in the backyard. I want to say I was 6 and my brother was 8, but we were probably younger. The small fenced in space was just on the edge of the forest which allowed the ground to be covered in dead pine needles that the trees would cast to the wind. We were bored as ever, discontent with the neglected pair of swings and lonely slide that had been untouched for most of the summer. They called to us, but our boredom, unable to be satisfied by such a simple fix, declined their invitation. We sat in a pair of lawn chairs that were set up against the white fence dividing our yard from the neighbors . That s when I heard the sound of springs on a trampoline only a few backyards down. It was a girl. The first thing I thought: cooties. She looked to be my brother s age, and she was. With that being said, we decided to mess with this poor girl by calling out to her, only to quickly duck down behind the safety of our fence. We were hooligans. This was probably not ... Throughout the paper, I will state the EHR mandate, who started it and when, its goals and objectives. I will explain how is the Affordable Care Act (ACA) connected to the EHR. Furthermore, I will describe my facility s plan and meaningful use. Finally, I will define Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) laws and what is being done by my facility to prevent HIPAA violation. Description of the Electronic Health Record EHRs are computerized versions of patient s paper charts. EHRs makes the health information about the patient accessible anywhere at any time. EHR holds the pertinent information about a patient s medical history, medications, immunization record, allergies, radiology and other diagnostic images, and lab results (Health Information Technology (Health IT), 2013). EHR makes patient care safer by bringing together all health records from previous and current doctors, as well as pharmacies and different diagnostic facilities. In 2004, President George W. Bush issued an order for implementation of EHR in hope to help improve the quality and effectiveness of health care in the United States (United States (U.S.) Department of Health Human Services, 2008). • 11. Philip Larkin s Faith Healing Essay How typical in terms of subject, theme, structure and versification is Faith Healing by Larkin? Philip Larkin s Faith Healing In 1964, Philip Larkin published his third book of poetry, entitled The Whitsun Weddings . One of the many critically acclaimed poems was Faith Healing . In this essay, I intend to explore how typical this poem is in terms of subject, theme, structure and versification. In Faith Healing, women flock to an American Faith Healer for a blessing. The persona of the poem is written from an outsider s point of view, looking in at this sight. Faith Healing is divided into three stanzas, each of ten lines. Iambic pentameter is used to give 5 major stresses to each of the 10 lines. The three stanzas ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By now, all s wrong . It is interesting to note that with all 3 of these poems, Larkin adopts a personal persona. He is omniscient; in Mr Bleaney, it is as though he is a man looking for accommodation; in Here, it is as though he is the one on a journey and in Faith Healing, he is present, observing this spectacle. Therefore, I feel that Mr Bleaney and Here are closely linked to Faith Healing in terms of structure and versification. Faith Healing is an ambiguous poem that seems critical of religion. At the start of the poem, many flock to the Faith Healer but by the third stanza, the 20 seconds with the American seem to have ruined their lives. They have had their true feelings and emotions unlocked and have realised that they have never really been loved. An immense slackening ache. Spreads slowly through them . The Faith Healer thaws these emotions and we see the women suffer a sense of real loneliness and depression as this reality dawns. This strongly correlates with the theme in Mr Bleaney, a poem exploring loneliness and the fear in which it evokes. In the poem, we are told of Mr Bleaney s old room that is cheap and not cared for. The persona explores Bleaney s life. Ironically, he finds he can identify with him in some respects. So it happens ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Analysis of Filming Techniques in Spirited Away Spirited Away, titled Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi in Japan, follows a young girl named Chihiro on an adventurous, yet threatening journey into a magical realm after her parents are turned into pigs. She forms relationships with people that will help her find her way back home such as Haku, Zeniba, and Mr. Kamaji. She also encounters those like Yubaba who try to make her time in the realm of spirits difficult. Spirited Away quickly became Japan s highest grossing film of all time. From the moment she gets a job from Yubaba the bathhouse owner, Chihiro is bound under a contract that magically changes her name to Sen. If it had not been for a goodbye card from a friend, Chihiro would have forgotten her real name. As for Haku, he has not been able to recall his own name for years. When he does remember later in the film, his eyes are opened and he undergoes emotional and physical changes. Another aspect of Japanese folklore involved in the film highlights passing through spaces which mark a separation between one world and another. Areas like the bridge to the bathhouse, and the tunnel to the abandoned theme park represent this part of Japanese culture. However, the most important cultural aspect included in the film is the original title. When women or children suddenly disappeared and could not be located for a long period of time, it was assumed they had met kamikakushi, as Reider puts it. Once they come back from Kamikakushi, they are believed to be socially resurrected. One could say that in the film Chihiro meets her own Kamikakushi during the time she is away from her parents. As she goes through the tunnel at the beginning of the film, Chihiro is a whiny little girl who does not like change. When she comes out of the tunnel at the end of the film, she is standing tall, fearless, and confident. This post Kamikakushi is one of many examples of character ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Ishiguro Passivity Ishiguro conveys human desire towards a level of superiority, through a change of current psychological and physical conditions, that may possibly hinder the ethics and morals of society in order to build a perceivably ideal reality. Since long times, humans have stubbornly been on the search for a stronger defense and survival mechanism, most evidently through human experimentation and modern scientific methods of genetic alteration through adequate knowledge of genetic influence on human behavior and psychological development. Although Ishiguro ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ishiguro conveys the clones are as objects of passivity, that in silence and with lack of resistance, cruel methods are to be experimented on them. In support of this, the quote It was like when you make a move in chess and just as you take your finger off the piece, you see the mistake you ve made, and there s this panic because you don t know yet the scale of disaster you ve left yourself open to. (Ishiguro). The quote makes use of symbolism in the sense that the chess could represent the way society is structured a hierarchy which could include objects and subjects of research and that control and are in power. This possibly could refer t the passivity of the cones within this self centered society that actively force the clones to make passive moves. • 18. Sacrifice In Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallow In today s world, there are many people ready to make sacrifices. Some are doing it for their country, and some for their family and friends. The definition of sacrifice according to Webster s dictionary is an act of slaughtering an animal or person or surrendering a possession as an offering to God or to a divine or supernatural figure. People today do not tend to go by the same definition as others, every person has their own meaning of sacrifice. To me, a sacrifice is something that everyone should be willing to make on a daily basis without the fear of death. If people stop making sacrifices, then why should we expect our soldiers to make sacrifices for us at the border? One of the finest examples of sacrifice was shown in a film, London has Fallen. In this film all the world leaders were going to gather for a meeting in the Bellingham Palace. During the event terrorists attacked the place. The life of the President of the United States was in jeopardy. To safeguard the president, the US soldiers used an airlift to haul the President to a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 39. O Connor s Short Stories, Good Country People, And A Good... Sometimes the only thing that is constant in life is change. As time passes on, people, places, and ideas are bound to change. Not only can people change, but whole societies and generations can as well. As these changes happen, the differences between generations can become very large, and this can eventually lead to conflict. In Flannery O Connor s three short stories, Everything that Rises Must Converge, Good County People, and A Good Man is Hard to Find, the gaps between generations causes problems. A skewed perspective about both the past and present causes generational conflict in these stories, and O Connor shows how this narrow mindedness can eventually lead to a catastrophic ending. Nostalgia for good country values skews the judgment of characters in O Connor s stories. In Everything That Rises Must Converge Julian s mother is an example of someone who makes a bad decision caused by her dated views on society. Even with multiple warnings from her son, she still hands a black child a condescending penny (O Connor, Everything 1090). Based on her perspective, what she is doing isn t wrong, but ... She has a bad temperament, but people excused this attitude because of the leg (O Connor, Good Country 1093). Joy arrogance causes her aloofness and makes it difficult for her to form lasting relationships. In Everything That Rises Must Converge, Julian believes that he is a better person than his mother since he is more educated than her. He thinks that since he has had a formal education he has the right to teach her a lesson (O Connor, Everything 1086). • 40. Literary Devices Used In The Raven By Edgar Allen Poe Matthew Hylton ENG 200 030 December 7, 2017 The Raven Edgar Allen Poe The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe is a first person narrative poem that is truly a dark poem of one s sanity when losing a loved one. The poem is eighteen stanzas long that contains 108 lines. The poem uses many literary and poetic devices to help construct the eerie atmosphere. Poe begins the poem by describing a setting that symbolizes darkness and death perfectly Once upon a midnight dreary (1). Poe uses an internal rhyme to heighten the effect of the setting. He does this to foreshadow the events that happen later on in the poem, that the reader will soon begin to understand the dreariness of the setting. Poe is a mastermind of using these devices to draw the reader in and help them understand the narrator on a deeper level during the reading of the poem. As stanza one continues, Poe uses an alliteration in line 3 of the poem, While I nodded, nearly napping (3), by using the repetition of the n sound throughout the stanza I would argue he is trying to build suspense of the narrator answering the door. Poe uses many rhyme schemes throughout the poem to give a bigger meaning to each word. The first stanza is no different. Poe uses many internal rhymes in the stanza, but even uses an end rhyme in lines 2, 3, 4, and 5. He uses the rhyme scheme ABCBBB in the first stanza. As Poe continues, the narrator begins to remember his lost loved one Lenore . Poe begins to go darker into the poem creating an even larger suspense, and added dramatic effect as the narrator slowly approaches the door to open it. Ah, distinctly I remember it was in the bleak December; (6) Poe is using symbolism again to further his dark atmosphere that he created in the first stanza. Poe is trying to get the reader to understand the severity of the narrator s depression about Lenore . Poe in the very next line continues his emphasis on the eeriness that is this poem s atmosphere. By describing the embers of the fire going out, he is creating an image of darkness soon approaching. Because once the embers go out, the light goes out. I would argue that Poe is foreshadowing even more of what will happen later in the poem. As the stanza continues, you soon realize ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. Not Our Stars, But The Most Well Known Epic Poems Of The... Not in Our Stars, But in Ourselves Whose fault? / Whose but his own? is a question that has been raised many times in human history (Milton 3.96). Many authors and poets have tackled the question of why humanity is constantly tested and tempted to sin, and, further, whether humanity has the free will to decide its own fate. After the Reformation of the Catholic church that created Protestantism, the idea of predestination was very popular. Protestant ideology claimed that only a few people were destined to be saved or damned by God, and that only some people will be saved. This created a general anxiety about faith and free will in Renaissance England, leading many to question who was at fault when human beings sin. Two of the most well known epic poems of the Renaissance era are The Faerie Queene by Edmund Spenser and Paradise Lost by John Milton. Both poems feature characters that face trials and tribulations, and how the respective poems deal with the trails reveals different ideas about fate, free will, and the idea of being tested. Both poems use temptation relation to female bodies and sexual desire, diverse reactions to falling and failure, and prophecy that contribute to two different ideas about free will and the role of God in the lives of his creations. Female seduction and sexual temptation are featured both in The Faerie Queene and Paradise Lost, but are represented in different ways. In Paradise Lost, Eve leads to the eventual downfall of Adam because she ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The series had a successful premier and kept high ratings during next seasons. The Cosby Show achieved a 33.7 rating for 1985 86 and then 34.9 for 1986 87 (Staiger 144). Experts also gave mostly positive comments; they liked the humor, character s acting, mise en scenes and the overall impression of episodes. Its overall style of humor and resolution of narrative problems matched Middle America s taste standards and contemporary views about responsible parenting (Staiger 159). Show s features made it appreciable for different types of the auditory. It could be treated like a compromise, according to critics. Caucasian Americans liked the show as it represented many common uniracial problems for the middle class; they wanted to see episodes despite the fact most characters were representatives of a different race. African Americans were led by similar motives; the show did not demonstrate specific racial problems, but there still were enough moments, where people could recognize own situations and experiences. However, this omnitude became both the advantage and disadvantage of the show in critics eyes. Some of them mentioned that the creation of the less dangerous, stereotypical image of black people was one of the program s purposes. And it could be too good in this task: the trouble of The Cosby Show was that it didn t show the day to day racism that existed in the streets of New York City for the Huxtable children (Staiger 145). Experts also criticized the abundance of the indoor scenes, but it is the common problem for sitcoms. It is possible to conclude critics had a positive attitude towards The Cosby Show, as it reflected issues of parenting, which were common for all races, but slightly criticized it for the excessive whitewash of the African American ... (IEEE 802.22, 2012) Need for the IEEE 802 standard While connecting computers through networks, we need to have set of rules or standards for the data to travel from one computer to other computers. A very good example of this would be the rules of the road when driving a car. It is understood why we need traffic rules while driving; in same sense for data packets to travel from one computer terminal to other terminals, they should also follow set of rules and regulations. The standards of IEEE 802 help the industry provide advantages such as, interoperability, low product cost, and easy to manage standards. • 45. The Importance Of A Civic Engagement Opportunity As A... The Civic Engagement assignment illustrates the value of incorporating a civic engagement opportunity as a supplement to traditional lecture and reading materials. While this assignment differs from service learning, the civic learning that takes place during the semester leads to the development of knowledge, skills, and community contacts that are necessary for active citizenship. As described throughout this paper, despite the passive sounding title of courtroom observation, this assignment requires significant interaction and engagement with court personnel to be completed successfully. Since my father is a sheriff s deputy, it was easy for me to gain clearance to sit in the jury s box and to watch criminal plea charges. The process I observed was startling because I did not imagine that, in one morning, a single courtroom could go through almost five pages of client sentences (approximately forty clients). In addition, I gained a better understanding of how courts operate without the presence of a jury. Still, I was confused; What is the purpose of the judicial center? Who else is involved? Are charges fairly made? It was 7:30 a.m. on Monday, November 7, 2016. I woke up, took a cold shower, put on my formal attire, and then left with my father to go to the judicial center at the McDonough Square. By 8:00 a.m., my father introduced me to the sheriff deputies that had scanned me into the building. Officer Thomas Palmer, also called Tiny, acted as my tour ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 48. Kang s Argument Analysis In the article, Net neutrality hits a nerve, eliciting intense reactions , Cecilia Kang discusses how the pending repeal of Net Neutrality by the FCC and Chairman, Ajit Pai, is adamantly contested by most of the Internet community and most companies, big or small. To develop her argument, Kang uses a wide variety of appeals from established and startup companies, statistics and evidence related to the reaction to the repeal, and demonstrations on how polarizing the issue is, and the repeal s effect on solving the problem of Internet regulation. Kang cites a multitude of Internet based companies or organizations, such as Mozilla, Google, Netflix, and Free Press, to demonstrate their concern and clarify their resentment of the repeal. For instance, Google and Netflix argued that telecom companies should not be able to split sites because that would allow them to become a sort of gatekeeper. These responses better clarify companies concerns about the repeal and its effect on their business, while also aiding Kang in developing her article on explaining the concern and the response it has elicited. • 49. Socrates Death Argument Analysis Brian Frias Professor Pereira Philosophy 100 M/W 8 9:15 9 February 2015 Socrates Death Arguments Socrates was an ancient philosopher set in Athens, Greece. Socrates, being known for stirring up arguments amongst the city s wisest men, grew widely unpopular in the community. This unpopularity, and many other troubles led Socrates to be accused and sentenced to trial for corrupting the youth, and of not believing in the Gods of the city. During Socrates trial, he brings up arguments about why we should not fear death, just as he does not. In this essay I will cover Socrates two arguments about death, their inconsistencies, and explain why Socrates changed his position about death towards the end of the trial. While Socrates is being held ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He starts to talk about how this penalty of death is actually a good thing for him, and he is not angry for it. Socrates then clearly says that he has proof that death is good. He starts to say that death is a blessing and there are either two different scenarios of death. The first scenario of death is having no perception of anything at all and having your soul relocated, like a great dreamless sleep, which in Socrates eyes is truly a blessing. The second is in which your soul is relocated elsewhere, you are able to talk to others that have passed like great figures from the past. The alleged inconstancy is clear between these two arguments. The first argument Socrates states that he does not fear death because he has no clue what lies beyond. He cannot fear what he does not know of. With both arguments he is very confident in what he is saying, especially with the second argument claiming that he has proof that death is good. In the second argument Socrates says that death can be two things and then proceeds to explain what death is. In that argument, by stating what death is, he is clearly saying that he has some knowledge about death and is completely contradicting his first ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
