Our group the Kids Next Door was assigned to a Family Dollars Store in 901 Bridgewood Dr.
Fort Worth, TX 76112 to conduct Healthy Food Community Outreach survey. This Family Dollar
Store opens at 9:00 am and close at 10:00 pm Monday through Sunday. So, on October 19, 2017,
Thursday at 9:00 am, our group went to conduct the survey. We enjoyed conducting this survey
and it was a great opportunity to learn about healthy food in our Tarrant county. As working with a
group on this project, I have gained experiences in teamwork, communication, and exploration.
Before we went to conduct the survey, I was kind of afraid to go shopping there alone. I thought
this neighborhood is dangerous and was not safe for a girl to shopping there alone. However, after
exploring the neighborhood Family Dollar store, my negative thoughts of this neighborhood were
completely changed.
The location of this Family Dollar store is across from Dollar General and about half a mile
from this Family Dollar store, there is Albertson supermarket. I also noticed there was a city bus
stop nearby this Family Dollar store. I found this location as convenient for the residents and
access to public transportation is another factor that gives people transportation options to get to
work and shopping. There were plenty of parking spaces available for customers including
accessible handicap parking spaces in front of the store and near the store entrance. The store
environment was clean, but I did not notice whether the trash bin was placed in front of the store
or not. I arrived there a little bit early around 8:50 am and I saw a few customers walked in the
store ten minutes earlier than store open hour. It was kind of a surprise to see it because I did not
expect the store would allow the customer to walk into the store before the open hour.

after all of them. Six months after the Del Mar event, Jeff Hoe and Skip Engblom would loose
the very skateboarding team they worked so hard to build. One year later because of mounting
business problems they would close the shop and would never again reopen . Jeff and skip didn
t have enough money to compete against the major skateboarding companies that where buying
them out. Getting all this money from different companies was kind of like giving kids some

Skateboarding was soon going to get really popular. By 1975 skateboarding was in its way to a

selling magazine in 1976. The magazine second issue was feature Craig Stecyk Dogtown article
and his personal adventures of the Z Boys. Stecyk s words and photographs became the template
for the attitude and aesthetic to define the culture of modern day skateboarding. It would spark

This can be simply attributed to the fact that adult males seldom participated in the cannibalizing of
the dead. In addition to this, when adult males did participate in the mortuary feasts, they often
consumed the muscle tissues of the deceased and not the brain, which is the most infectious organ
when concerning kuru. Due to the loss of susceptible genotypes and the decline of cannibalistic
practices by the Fore people, there were less incidences of Kuru and a decline in kuru mortality rate
after the 1950 s. However, kuru related mortalities, although minute, did persist past this period due

weren t afflicted with kuru until 50 years after exposure to the infection.
The active phase of the kuru disease can be differentiated into three main stages, each with their

experiences preliminary symptoms in the prodromal period such as headaches and joint pain that

In the short coming of age story Through the Tunnel by Doris Lessing, the author utilizes peer
pressure to show the fear of growing up. In the beginning of the story, the bay represents
freedom to Jerry. He went out fast over the gleaming sand, over a middle region where rocks lay
like discolored monsters under the surface, and then he was in the real sea a warm sea where
irregular cold currents from the deep water shocked his limbs. (Lessing) Being out alone in the
middle of a dangerous bay makes Jerry feel more mature than when they arrived to the vacation.
The reader feels happy for Jerry. Later in the story, he finds out that the supposedly alone bay has

When he came up, the boys were all on the diving rock, preparing to attempt the feat again. And
now, in a panic of failure, he yelled up, in English, Look at me! Look! ... (Lessing) Jerry felt
inferior to the other foreign boys because he couldn t find the hole to swim through. He was so
determined to get their approval and attention, that he would make a fool of himself to get it.
After the foreign boys are gone, he takes it upon himself to find the hole and swim through it,
even if it s the last thing he does. He practiced holding his breath so much that his nose bled
multiple times. As soon as he was able to hold his breath for around 200 seconds, he was ready
to go through. His heart quieted, his eyes cleared, and he sat up. He could see the local boys
diving and playing half a mile away. He did not want them. He wanted nothing but to get back
home and lie down. (Lessing) In the ending, he realizes that it s not worth it to be like the boys,
who he once thought of as mature men , if he had to go through any fearful situation like this one
