Pros And Cons Of The F-35 Lighting
It s a bird, it s a plane, it s... it is the F 35 Lighting. This newly born fighter jet is having some
growing pains and causing the taxpayer s all kinds of headaches. With the United States trying
to be on the cutting edge of technology, the military though up of a plan that could modernize
the jet fighter, by creating an all in one type of plane called the F 35. According to a 2014 article
in The New York Times, Rough Ride for the F 35 America was going to show case its state of the
art war plane at the international air show, the single engine F 35 was a no show. A tough blow to
the America s Military, which under took the world s most expensive weapons project . This plane

The saying if it s not broke why fix it, it is the prime example of what the Congress is not doing.
If the congress would see that the military already has capable planes, they could see that
dropping that much money into the F 35 is not the best idea. The A 10 is getting all the pressure
from the development of the F 35 just because the Pentagon wants more of a multi role aircraft
that the F 35 in theory could do. The Air Force came out and said retiring its fleet of almost 300
Warthogs by 2019 to save an estimated $4.2 billion a year and free up maintainers for the F 35.
To free up maintainer for the F 35 if that doesn t say problem child than I don t know what is.
With all the money we have spent on the F 35, do we really need it or is it time to cut the jet from
the money milk good ol Uncle Sam is feed it? I believe so just because the F 35 is not reliable and
has to many problems that the engineers are trying to

Success Is No Illusion Greater Than Fear Essay
There is no illusion greater than fear. Lao Tzu. Most successful men and women entrepreneurs do
not let fear hold them back from achieving what they want. They know that success is not just
about having a dream but by overcoming the fear of failure and taking action on that dream or
else it will always remain a dream and never a reality. Howard Schultz, CEO of Starbucksand
former owner of the Seattle Supersonics, probably realized this at an early age. Howard Schultz
was born on July 19, 1953, in Brooklyn, New York and grew up not having much as a child,
living in the Brooklyn projects with his parents and two other siblings. He later went to Northern
Michigan University on a football scholarship but decided not to play and instead pursued an
academic degree. In 1975, Howard Schultz graduated with a BA in Communications and
immediately went to work for Xerox Corp. in the sales and marketing division, which eventually
led him to Starbucks (Howard).
The original Starbucks was founded in 1971, in Seattle s historic Pike Place Market, by three
owners Jerry Baldwin, Zev Siegl and Gordon Bowker; who later on hired Howard Schultz to be
their director of sales in 1982 (Sun). During Schultz s trip to Italy, he saw the importance of how
coffee played a role in the social life of most Italians. It was a main point for the neighborhood,
where friends met, mingled and lingered throughout the day. After returning to Seattle, Howard
Schultz brought his idea to Starbucks owners

An 11th Century Masterpiece Of The Middle Ages
An 11Th Century Masterpiece
What defines a masterpiece? A masterpiece can be defined as an enduring piece of work that has
been widely accepted, as both exceptional and groundbreaking, in a way that greatly influences
society. Masterpieces come in many varieties and forms such as art pieces, music, and architecture.
One of the greatest masterpieces of the Middle Ages, and one that is still standing today, is the Ely
Cathedral. Ely Cathedral s construction began in 1082 and took about three hundred years to be
completed (Clark, William W.). During this time, cathedrals arose out of towns and cities, which
were the natural centers of Christianity. The Middle Ages was a period of great volatility: a time of
invasions, conquering of lands, battles ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The ruling class of the day, consisting of kings, queens and their courts, was deeply intertwined
with the Catholic Church. Etheldreda, queen of East Angles who later became a nun, founded a
monastery in 673 on the grounds that would later become Ely Cathedral. Upon her death and
elevation to sainthood she was enshrined where Ely Cathedral would later rise from the place
of the former monastery at the decree of the Bishop of Bangor. The bishops of the Middle Ages
held high social status and had great influence because of the high roles they held in the state.
They were thus able to spend much of the church s wealth in and around the region of Ely on the
creation and construction of Ely Cathedral (Burton, Edwin). This spending greatly led to the birth
of Ely Cathedral as a social priority. This priority took the form of a broadening of the social
structure that included new trades such as stone cutting, masonry and other forms of skilled labor
that led to artistic endeavors such as sculpting and painting all directly impacted by cathedral
building ( Cathedral Building in the Middle Ages ). Held in very high spiritual and social regard,
the cathedrals throughout Europe, including Ely, commanded a kind of reverence that lasted for
hundreds of years much as the Catholic Church had before the church gradually began to lose hold
of its dominance as the Renaissance began to flourish. Once the Renaissance took hold many
cathedrals, including Ely, were diminished in influence and even damaged or destroyed. Ely,
however, withstood time ( The Cathedrals of

option of the right of way should be exercised regardless of whether the project at the Rotterdam
plant is undertaken. Therefore, the cash flows associated with the right of way should be separated

Throughout life people accrue strong natural desires, many of which society does not condone. We
struggle with whether or not we satisfy those desires, and feel guilty, or embrace what may be
facets of our true identity. In The Strength of God, by Sherwood Anderson, Reverend Curtis
Hartman fights lustand the temptation of adultery when he spots a beautiful woman, Kate Swift,

The Bluest Eye Pessimism

Breedlove s name, or so it was thought. Toni Morrison introduces the reader to Pauline
Breedlove as Mrs. Breedlove. She withholds the name until further on in the novel, and it is
compelling once her name is declared. Mrs. Breedlove has constructed her life around a
childhood accident where she is never given a nickname considering all her siblings had one.
There are no funny jokes, anecdotes, nothing funny or otherwise, is ever associated with her or
her dislikes or likes taken into consideration as with the other children, and it evokes feelings of
separateness and unworthiness. Due to her situation and emotions, Mrs. Breedlove develops a
little cocoon of happiness in where she arranges things. After her children are born, Mrs.
Breedlove finds employment in the Fishers home. She became what is known as an ideal
servant, for such a role filled practically all of her needs. (Morrison 127). Mrs. Breedlove
neglects her own home and emotionally removes herself from her children when the role starts
to fill all her needs and in which we hear them refer to her as Mrs. Breedlove instead of mama .
Power, praise, and luxury were hers in this household. They even gave her what she had never
had a nickname Polly. (Morrison 128), Pauline has never had any of these things that she has
within the Fishers home. Pauline soaks up the praise as if it is her lifeline, and the reader comes to

Reciprocal Altruism And Kin Selection
When we study social psychology, we will learn the concept of altruism and egoism. They are a
pair of antonym. The definition of altruism is principle or practice of concern for the welfare of
others and the definition of egoism is an excessive or exaggerated sense of self importance. We
can help other people while taking care of ourselves. However, helping others still waste our time
and energy. Although a very small help such as telling strangers the direction of places still
consume our time. Therefore, helping is a kind of costing and we want the return. Return can be
spiritually and materially. For materially return, people will expect substantial return. For example,

In the article Are we capable of being altruistic , Alex Haines used dictator games in experiments
to measure altruism and he also had analyzed what many people perceive to be an altruistic act. He
found that participant s every action requires an incentive. The result indicated that people are not
capable to act selflessly. However, there are also some articles that indicated that pure altruism does
exist and it is related to empathy. For example, Todd D. Nelson s article Motivational Bases of Pro
social and Altruistic Behavior: A critical reappraisal support the idea of true altruism and it is linked
to feeling of empathy for the victim. Howeverm Cialdini et al s work Reinterpreting the Empathy
Altruism Relationship: When One Into One Equals Oneness also talked about the relationship
between empathy and altruism. But it stated that altruistic subjects are acting on egoistic motives
untimately because empathic feeling for someone in distress tend to cause them to confused the

empathic concern also lead to a greater sense of

Mackenzie King Leadership
Unforgettable actions that will always be remembered in honour of Mackenzie King, which
made him such a great leader. In my opinion William Lyon Mackenzie King showed that he was
an effective leader through his duty of being Canada s 10th Prime Minister for 29 years. King
made huge impacts on many lives and both world wars in being Canadas best Prime Minister.
Mackenzie King did many effective actions throughout his years of being Prime Minister, however
three events stood out the most. King showed that he was an effective leader because he created
crown corporations, had a dream to start the British Commonwealth Air Training Program and
created Unemployment Insurance for people who needed it. Not only did he serve the longest time
as Canada s Prime Minister but he successfully affected many lives.
Firstly, Mackenzie King showed great leadership towards the people because of this dream of
starting the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan (BCATP). Mackenzie King was
determined in 1939 to have a dream which he believed was a sign of the power of the airplane in
determining ultimate victory . All over the country, Canadians decided to mobilized to take part
in this event. In order to take on this event an army of experts would have to be assembled, a
development in airfields and equipment, including airplanes. Between the years 1940 1945
there was 151 schools established and thousands civilians that were members of the Royal
Canadian Air Force, mainly the Women s division trained and worked for BCATP facilities. By
the end of the Second World War, the BCATP had produced 131,553 aircrew, including pilots,
wireless operators, air gunners, and navigators for the Air Forces of Great Britain, Australia, New
Zealand and Canada. This all Started when Canada s government realized it was an opportunity
for them to make a significant commitment to the Allied war efforts. The final agreement was
made on December 17, 1939 and all countries that were involved in this dream signed the papers,
which listed the percentages of trainees they need to send, the cost they would need to pay,
schedule of training times. This all came to a close in March on the 31st 1945. King was so
confident in this dream he had envisioned that

The Issue Of Child Labor
The issue of child labor has drawn significant attention since early 1990s as many labor union and
special interest groups advocate banning import of goods produced by the child labor in
developing countries and the international consensus in the form of Convention on the Right of the
Child (CRC) which is widely ratified in 1989 by countries (Boyden, Ling and Myers, 1998).
However, concern regarding childlaboris not new and can be dated back to industrial revolution,
especially late eighteenth and early nineteenth century, in England many parents were helpless but
to send their children to work to cope the increasing poverty and inequality. (Horrell and Humphries,
1995; Edmonds, 2007). Nevertheless, before the industrial revolution and... Show more content on

There have been steady decline in the incidence of child s exposure to hazardous work and child
labor on balance. However, the recent estimates of child labor are still astonishingly high and
the trend predict even slower pace of decline in child labor. According to ILO report in 2012, for
age group 5 17 years 16.7 percent (or 264,427 in absolute number) of children are in some form
of employment, 10.6 percent (equivalently 167,956) is considered as child labor, and 5.4 percent
(equivalently 85,344) is involved in hazardous work. Although these figures are lower than the
corresponding figures in 2000, the absolute numbers of child labor are still very high (ILO
2013). Policy measures adopted to reduce child labor are derived from an increasing number of
theoretical and empirical research on this issue specially since late 1990s. Theoretical studies use
the household decision making model to explain the incidence of child labor and attempt to find
the determinants of child labor. Initial models that attempt to explain the phenomenon of child
labor assume an exploitative household where child is considered household s asset and parents
are the sole decision maker who maximizes their welfare disregarding the welfare of child. In
these models parents are selfish and child labor is chosen if it maximizes household welfare which
may disregard

In the cultures of many Africans the African Elephant is a figure of power and strength. Africans

represent knowledge, strength, and control. African savannah elephants are in the savannah s, south
of the Sahara Desert. The African elephantknown as Loxodonta Africana was placed on the

The Acacia Senegal is important to many regions in Africa because the beneficial aspects of its

acknowledged as its gum, is also used for pharmaceutical drugs and sweets like candy. The bark
of the acacias is rich in tannin like many other plants, which is used in ink and dyes. Both species

hot or cold weather and cold it becomes a little difficult for them.
In the South African Journal of Wildlife Research, they analyzed the movements of the Loxodonta
Africana during the day in South Africa. Duffy and colleagues (Duffy et al,2011) explains how
males move quicker than females when alone, but when in a group the females are much faster.
Due to the heat, the elephants in the savanna do not like to move in many

How Lewis Structures Are Constructed
Lewis Structure shows how atoms in a covalent bond share electrons. Dots are used to show lone
pairs of electrons, and lines symbolize bonds. This essay will explain how Lewis Structures are
constructed.
The first step is counting how many valence electrons there are. Determine the number of electrons
that are in the outer shells of each atom. For example, H2O has 6 valence electrons in oxygen and 1
in hydrogen. Therefore, there are 8 total since there are two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom.
Non valence electrons are not expressed.
Next, write the symbols for each atom and connect them with single bonds. The order of the atoms
in the formula usually shows connectivity. HCN is written H C N in its Lewis Structure. If there
are only two types of atoms, the central atom is usually written first and has lower electronegativity.
After writing symbols and connecting elements with single bonds, complete the octets of
surrounding atoms with lone pairs. The octet rule states most atoms bond so that every atom has
eight electrons in its outer shell to gain stability of the Noble gases. CF4, for example, has all
single bonds and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nitric oxide is an example of this with eleven electrons in its outer shells, and nitrogen ends up
with only 6 valence electrons. Another molecule that violates the rule is one that does not need
eight valence electrons. For example, in H2O, the hydrogen atoms only need two electrons
around them instead of eight. One other example of a violation is when molecules have extra
electrons. SF4 is an example as sulfur has a lone pair and four covalent bonds, which gives it 10
valence electrons. This is only possible with atoms that are in the third row of the periodic table or
lower with unfilled d orbitals. Therefore, exceptions can only occur in molecules that have odd
numbers of electrons or with atoms that have only the first energy level or empty

How Does the Development of Core Competencies Provide Both...
How does the development of core competencies provide both advantages and disadvantages for
an organisation? What steps can managers take to prevent core competencies becoming core
rigidities? In today s world competition among firms becomes globalized and more intense. In
order to become superiorly competitive, companies should enhance its competencies in a way
that will allow them to achieve dominant position in a market. One way of accomplishing it is by
development of core competencies. Competencies are considered core if they are skillfully
performed and are principal to company s strategy and its competiveness (Thompson et al, 2013).
They are result of collective learning activities (Prohalad and Hamel, 1990), a combination of...

For instance, mentioned by some participants in the discussion, Nokia lost its leadership in
production of mobile phones as they were unable to adapt to the new era of phones pioneered by
Iphone. There has been general consensus throughout the discussion that applying dynamic
capabilities approach can prevent core competencies becoming core rigidities. The idea of dynamic
capabilities lies in a necessity of a company to create, extend and modify its resource base, whether
it would be minor continuous improvements; creation of new resources or combination of existing
ones in new ways; or a complete renewing of the resource base, depending on how dynamic the
environment is, in order to sustain competitive advantage and address external changes. What is
important here is the managers perception of the environmental dynamism that providesthe basis
for their ability to identify the need for changes and extend those changes when necessary.
According to Amrosini et al (2009), managers who fail to identify correctly the environmental
dynamism may react not accordingly to the actual environment and, thus, apply insufficient
changes (risk of strategic shift), prefer predictability of routine past

Kubler Ross 5 Stages Of Grief Essay
The prominent and well known five stages of grief created by Elisabeth Kubler Ross have been
adopted by professionals to support patients across all settings with the difficult process of death
and dying. In Elisabeth Kubler Ross s classic study of the dying process the process of dying has a
universality to it which connects all human beings despite each experience being individualistic.
Many individuals experience and adopt these stages after being faced with the reality of their
impending deathor the death of a loved one. Medical professionals can support patients with this
process by providing meaningful and multidimensional care that can include pain management,
patient advocacy, and _____ .
Kubler Ross identified five linear stages of grief. Most all patients are faced with the initial stage
in the process which is denial and isolation. This stage usually is in a shock response to poor and
life changing news. This first stage of grieving helps us to survive the loss (Kubler Ross, Pg. 10) A

Cleisthenes As An Opportunist
Cleisthenes was the Athenian politician setting the stage of democracy around c.520 BC and to
c.400 BC. An opportunist is defined by Oxford dictionaries as: A person who takes advantage of
opportunities as and when they arise, regardless of planning or principle . For many, this sums up
the rule of Cleisthenesas he took advantage of the anti tyrannical movement and of the power he
was given to improve the position of himself and his Alcmaeonid family. However, this essay will
argue that although Cleisthenes did take advantage of opportunities, he was ultimately very
principled in nature and was actually a reactionist. This is to say that he reacted to problems and
events that occurred and dealt with them the best he could, rather than taking advantage of the
opportunity to better himself, the elite classes or his family.
To many, Cleisthenes was simply an opportunist. One way he can be said to be opportunistic is
during his rise to power. This idea has stemmed from the ancient Greek author Herodotus, and in
parts Aristotle as well. On the whole, these are two ancient authors with semi opposing views, with
Herodotus being a stronger source for stating Cleisthenes was an opportunist. The main reason
most historians believe that Cleisthenes was an opportunist is because of the account from
Herodotus histories. The account is as follows: these two [Isagoras and Cleisthenes] were rivals
for power, and Cleisthenes, who was getting the worst of it, took the people into his

The Native Americans removal can be compared to the Holocaust, but it also can t not be
compared to the Holocaust. I ll start with how the removal can be compared to the Holocaust,we
remove the Native Americans from their land because gold was found and moved the Native
Americans, these can be compared to how the Germans took Jews to the camps. Another way to
show these two events similar is when Jews had to wear a yellow star on their clothing to show
they are a Jew,it s like the Renaming Program for the Native American to have a christian name
or a white man name. Also was the battle of Little Bighorn, the Native American tribe was
attacked by the troops of US soldiers attacked without warning or even a reason, just like how the
German choose Jews to go to the forced labor camps to work everyday without a reason why they
were doing it. Another way to show the two are similar,is the Native Americans didn t control the
reservation land it was the Us Government that ultimately controlled it, just like the Holocaust the
Jew did have a choice of what happen in the forced labor camps. On the Other side the Native
American removal can t be compared with the Holocaust. The death count, the most I believe
Native American death would be around forty thousand, the Holocaust death was more than two
hundred thousand deaths. Another reason that these two can t be compared is the Native American
got clothing unlike the Holocaust Jews bearly got any clothing. Native American were able to hunt
for food in a fenced off area it was completly different then the Holocaust Jews not recieving any
food at all. I believe the American government didn t make an attempt to help the Native Americans
into the American culture. The medicine for the Indians that were ill was cod liver oil;no
hospitals;no decent medicine;and doctors to help ill or injured Native Americans. What made me
believe that the US Government of these was the reservation the Native America were placed on,
Standing Rock. The Standing Rock reservation could only support only one generation, and it could
barely do that much. What made these clear was the distribution of clothing and blanks, just like
how Sitting Bull was seeing the other Indians getting clothing. Also

If You Have Debt, It s Impossible For Experience True...
If you have debt, it s impossible to experience true financial freedom. It would be nice to make
life decisions that weren t totally based on your finances. In order to live this way, you ll need to
get out of debt quickly. Try these sixteen ways and climb out of the hole.
1. Get a part time job.
Check the newspapers and the internet job boards for part time work. You can find extra work in
an office building where you can file papers. You might be able to be a server at a restaurant and
make money in tips. If you have the extra time in your schedule, a simple part time job that
requires three to four nights a week can make a dent in your debt payment.
2. Rent out an unused space.

few of these services, they still don t add up to the cost of cable.
6. Use coupons.
Instead of tossing the coupons out as junk mail, take a few minutes to go through the pamphlets
and find out what you can get a discount on. Challenge yourself to become a better cook by
shaping your menus around what s available in grocery coupons. Clip out the coupons that offer
discounted prices on oil changes and other routine car maintenance services you ll eventually need.
7. Stick to a budget.
Look at your money as soldiers who work for you. There should be an assignment for every
dollar that comes in. When each dollar has marching orders, you ll be able to experience more
financial discipline. Remember that this is your budget so you can decide what you d like to spend
money on after the necessities get taken care of.
8. Do the debt snowball method.
Make a list of all of your debts, largest to smallest. Pay the minimum balance on all of them.
However, attack the smallest debt with as much money as you can. Do all the things on this list to
create some extra income and put it toward the smallest debt. Once you pay the smallest debt off,
use that same amount and apply it to the next debt payment. Before long, you ll be able off large
sums of debt in a shorter amount of

Luxury Goods Serve A Purpose
Introduction Luxury goods serve a purpose that extends way beyond functionality and need. A
bag that costs $15,000 or a pair of shoes priced at $500 does not necessarily signal that they
perform better than goods priced significantly lower. The disproportionate prices of luxury goods
reflect so much more than the eye can see, the history behind the brand, the story that it tells, and
the scarcity and exclusivity it aims to achieve in the mind of the consumer. A premium brand, by
contrast, can generally be described as a good that a customer pays more for because they are
getting higher quality product. Luxury brands are not inherently inferior because they do not offer
higher functionality. Sometime signaling the belonging to an exclusive group is important to a
person, and thus worth the monetary cost. A premium product, though, is a good that people are
willing to pay more because they believe they get more, whether that is higher quality or better
performance. A customer does not purchase a luxury product because they know it will perform
better, they purchase it because of the status and appearance that it signals to those around them.
The distinction between luxury and premium is significant because many brands are unsure of
where they want to position themselves. In order for a high end brand to be successful it needs to
position themselves as either providing some benefit that justifies the price, or as a fantasy that the
customer needs to pay for to be a part of.

How Does Energy Affect Our Safety Through Our National...
Looking for apartments and being on my own for the first time brought to my attention how
expensive energy bills can be. I was determined to research a way to save on energy and cut
down my bills. While looking through the solutions I came across an intriguing discovery. Over
the years energy efficiency has become an epidemic, whether it affects global warming or
protecting the environment, saving money or improving the economy; conserving energy has a lot
more to it than many people will ever know. Everything we do requires energy. There is heat
energy, light energy, mechanical energy, electrical energy, chemical energy, nuclear energy, and so
on. The fact that I was most intrigued by is that energy plays a big part in our national... Show more

As you can see the federal government deals with any crisis that arrives in our country to protect its
citizens. A crisis could occur at any moment in our lives and National Securityis here for our
protection. Now that we know what National security is and what it has to do with our everyday
lives, I d like to explain what national security has to do with energy. I mentioned that one of the
branches of our national security is the security of natural resources and energy. By the word
energy is meant the power of doing work; and the energy which a laboring man possesses means,
in the strictly physical sense, the number of units which he is capable of accomplishing, (Stewart,
647). Since man require such energy to do work, it is important that a group focus solely on
energy security. Energy and natural resources can consist of materials we use in our everyday
lives; water, sources of energy such as the wind and sun, fossil fuel, land, and power. As of 2011,
the US has been one of the world s largest energy consumers (Sovacool). Sovacool also describes
energy security as equitably providing available, affordable, reliable, efficient, environmentally
benign, properly governed and socially acceptable energy services to customers.
We now know that energy security is one of the more important branches of national security, but

Harriet Jacobs vs Fredrick Douglas
Slavery was one of the most tragic memories known for in the black race. Slavery is the process
at which an African American is purchased by a Caucasian who is used for exhausting labor
work such as picking cotton, or tending to house work and being restricted from freedom. All of
the slaves were used and abused physically, mentally, and emotionally. In some cases abuse was
the death of many of those slaves. The slaves were classified as the lowest of the low and were
banned from learning, reading, and writing. Not all slaves lives ended at those abusive plantations.
Two former slaves whose lives turned out a success was Harriet Jacobs and Fredrick Douglass.
February 11, 1813 in Edenton, North Carolina Harriet Jacobs was born into slavery. Harriet Jacobs s
parents were Elijah and Delilah Jacobs mother and father of Harriet and her older brother John
Jacob s. Elijah Jacob s was a skilled carpenter, who made enough money so that his family could all
live together. Harriet Jacob s grandmother Molly Horniblow played a major role in the Jacob s
family life. At the age six Harriet Jacob s mother passed away Harriet was sent away to live with
her mother s owner and his mistress. I was born a slave; but I never knew till six years of happy
childhood had passed away. Harriet felt as if she was living a good life until her mother passed
away. Even though she was born a slave she did not feel

short life. And that I was a very nice person, but I was not. I was a girl who does a lot of bad things
for the one I loved. I was the girl who swears a lot even it was not needed. I was a girl who
disobeys my parents just for some guy who did not even deserve it. I was a sinner, and that may be
the reason why I died early. Let me talk about my life. My life was indeed short, too short for me to
experience pure happiness. I had an exciting life. I learned how to value the people who were in my
life. I learned how to accept that not all people will stay.

Bravehearts Film Techniques
Bravehearts
Mel Gibson is Bravehearts director as well as the main star. This is a well made movie that I
really enjoyed. The movie Bravehearts is an amazing account of one Scotsman that decided to
fight the oppression of the English to gain his freedom. With this one mans vision an awesome
movie is created. There is a scene for just about all audiences. There are war scenes, romantic
scenes, and who could forget dramatic scenes.
At the beginning of the movie we see William Wallacethe main character as a young boy. The
setting is a small cottage in Scotland. His father and brother are about to embark on a trip to battle.
As the townspeople cart the two dead bodies back to the cottage, the entire tone of the movie is set.

The two make eye contact and an immediate flame ignites.
This is the first example of romance that the movie shows. As the young lovers are drawn to
each other they decide to elope. This is the beginning of the end of the calm William. As the
town guards see the lovers interacting, they decide to rape the young women. Of course the
minute the first scream is let out William strikes down the guards one at a time. His gives his
young wife a horse and tells her ride off while he makes his own tracks. His wife is captured, and
in order to attract William, her throat is cut and the war begins.
The next scene that is presented is a rather solemn faced William on horseback. Whack! the first
guard is struck down with one blow. William is on a rampage for the murder of his beloved wife.
The guards are not able to withhold Will as well as the other townspeople. The fortress is
overtaken and the noble who sliced Williams wife throat is given the same death.
The King of England has just united France with his forces and his son will soon take over. The
son is a nuisance and is unable to rule the Kingdom properly. As William rallied the people and
took one fort after another, my heart just would not stop beating. The King proves his inability to
rule with the decisions he makes. My pulse started to race and my mind was constantly working.

Mail Fraud Cases
The federal mail and wire fraud statutes ban plans or schemes to defraud that includes the utilization
of mail or wire communications. Both condemn deceitful conduct that may likewise come
surprisingly close to other federal criminal statutes. Both may serve as money laundering offenses.
Both are deserving of imprisonment for not more than 20 years; for not more than 30 years, if the
victim is a financial institution or the offense is committed in times of crisis. Victims in both of
these situations are entitled to restitution. Both may bring about the relinquishment of property. The
mail fraudstatue was introduced in the early nineteenth century and the wire fraudstatute is a little
more recent as it was enacted in 1952.

During this time, the United States Supreme Court expanded and contracted the reach of the
mail fraud statute, finally merging the various components in Schmuck v. United States, 489
U.S. 705 (1989). From its origins in 1872 to approximately the middle of the twentieth century,
the mail fraud statute s reach was considerable. It was only necessary that the scheme to defraud
should be devised or intended to be devised and a letter placed in the post office for the purpose
of executing the scheme or attempting to do so. The breadth of the statute was extended two
years later when the United States Supreme Court held, to satisfy the mailing requirement, it is
sufficient for the mailing to be incident to an essential part of the scheme or a step in the plot.
This broad standard remained until Kann v. United States, 322 U.S. 88 (1944). In Kann v.
United States, the defendants were corporate officers and directors who were accused of creating
a dummy corporation in order to divert profits into their own pockets. As part of this fraudulent
scheme, the defendants allowed the corporation to issue checks payable to the both of them. The
defendants cashed the checks at local banks, which then mailed the checks to the drawee banks
for collection. The court held that the mailing of the cashed checks to the drawee banks could not
supply the mailing element of the mail fraud charges. The defendant s fraudulent scheme had
reached fruition. It was immaterial to them, or to any consummation of the scheme, how the bank
which paid or credited the check would collect from the drawee bank. The federal mail fraud
statute does not purport to reach all frauds, but only those limited instances in which the use of the
mails is a part of the execution of the fraud, leaving all other cases to be dealt with by appropriate
state law (Kann, 323

Persecution In Religion
Persecution in the church was expected and even prized as martyrs believed suffering brought
them closer to Christ. But the church abused this understanding and created a cult of saints
reflective of the old paganism of Rome. The purpose of this paper is to explore the early church
and the persecution and criticisms that it went through. A background of the causes of such
oppression will also be discussed as well as the role that Christians at that time played during this
time of hurt. This paper will utilize the time frame of the first and second century and will highlight
the role of the rulers at that time and their effect on the early church.

determine your dosage level. Your dosage level depends on a lot of factors such as your age, the
type of medical condition Ativan is meant to be treating for you, your medical history, and other
factors.
If the doctor has advised you to use the medication regularly, remember to take the medication at
the same time every day. If you happen to miss a dose, take the dose immediately. Do not
compensate for the missed dose by taking twice the amount of your assigned dosage the next day.

Argumentative Essay On Homeschooling
Homeschooling, not very well known, presents a new and affordable way to educate children.
Home school is a term used to refer to the education of children by their parents or guardians in a
setting other than a public or private school (Anderman Anderman, p. 467). It has never been a
new thing; it just has not been as popular as it used to be (Lines, p. 76). With this topic meaning so
much to groups for and against the right for homeschoolingand what should be legalized or not, the
debate still rages on from local to even national government entities. Both sides of the argument
have valid points, but ultimately it is the choice of the parents. There are many types of ways to

Surprisingly, there are a variety of people that do homeschooling. Both people from high income to
low income families. There are parents that even have doctorates or even a diploma in a general
subject. Families with either one or two parents and differing ethnics and religious or secular
inducement choose to homeschool (Ray 2002). Researchers come to the conclusion that
homeschoolers, for the most part, have free reign when it comes to their homework and school pace
that they feel that suits them the best.
Many concerns are expressed for homeschoolers. When it comes to homeschooling, the first point
of emphasis that critics point towards homeschoolers is the lack of socialization. Critics charge that
home schooled children will be socially handicapped and unable to adapt to real life interaction
when older (Jeub 1994). Ultimately, critiques get their conclusions with many observations and
interviews that show how they do not choose to, or are not incorporated in social events or
activities. Critiques imagine that the children are stuck with their parents all day and only go out
when their parents allow them or when they personally go out. With this environment, critiques
envision that homeschoolers get little to no cultural experience from their world surroundings
(Anderman and Anderman, p. 468) In essence, the assessment is a never ending speech from the
critics that the number one flaw in homeschool is socialization and the

The Limited Liability Partnership ( Llp )
The limited liability partnership (LLP) is another type of partnership. LLP is a partnership
consisting of one or more general partners and one or more limited partners (p. 554). It was
created to limit the personal liability of the partners of losing their personal assets to only their
own acts and omissions and to the acts and omissions of people under their supervision (Nickels,
McHugh, McHugh, 2013, p. 119). This business form also allows a partnership to continue as a
pass through entity for tax purposes (Miller, 2014, p. 554). However, limited liability partnershipis
not recognized as a legal business structure in every state, unlike the general partnership, In
addition, taxing authorities in some states recognize the structure of LLP as a nonpartnership for
tax purposes due to its special structure (Scott Media, n.d.). There is also a limited partnership,
which has one or more general partners and one or more limited partners. One partner will be a
general partner and has unlimited liability and is active in managing the firm whereas the limited
partner will only invest money in the business but does not have any management responsibility or
liability for losses beyond the investment.
Moreover, corporations are another form of business. A corporationis defined as legal entity formed
in compliance with statutory requirements that is distinct from its shareholder owners (Miller,
2014, p. 555). The advantages of corporations include the shareholders

How Controlled Burns Improve Forestry Essay
Thousands upon thousands of acres are lost in forest fires every year. We always hear about the
dramatic losses caused by forest fires and are often concerned by them. There are so many
horrible effects from fires and most of them affect so many people. Studies have shown that out of
all of the different methods to decrease fire damage, prescribed burnsare the most affective. Many
people would argue that they are not as affective because they cause so many health problems.
Although that is a very important view and may seem valid, those health issuesare not as extreme as
one might think. People should look at the majority of the benefits form prescribed burns and they

There are also so many animals that go along with the damage from the fires because they are
living in the middle of it and do not have any where to go. It makes sense that actions such as
controlled burns should be done because so much could be prevented. Then again there are so
many people who argue against them because they are a disruption to the environment. Fire
experts argue that prescribed burns are vital for reducing the risk of catastrophic blazes and
restoring ecosystems that evolved with fire (Tobin 2). If a great deal of damage could be
prevented, I do not see why there should be any concern. This is especially important when you
look at what more damage is done to the environment during a huge forest fire compared to on from
a petite controlled burn.
It is so horrible to see all of that timber go to waste. Our society depends on timber a lot and we
need so much of it to produce so many useful goods. What would happen if we did not have any
timber to make homes or proved some type of shelter? We would be lost and have no where to
go. Prescribed burns can prevent that great loss of timber and save a lot of trees. Although one
purpose of controlled burns is to curve paths for huge forest fires, they are also used to freshen up
the area. If an area of trees is left untreated from prescribed burns, the sands are expected to decline
in growth (Mitchell 1). Also, to ensure a healthy forest,

The difference between the pervious generation and second generation is that pervious generation

The structure of Part 2, 4 and 6 was interesting as most of the chapters begin in Jack s point of
view of Stephen which is a narrative technique Faulks has used to show the relationship being
conjured and that the lives of these two men are bound. Jack s admiration for Stephen is further
shown on page 372 where he cannot remember what his son, John s, face so he has taken to
drawing Stephen instead which also shows his importance in his life. After Michael Weir s
death he and Stephen become closer, as one relationship breaks down another solidifies as they
have both lost so many people so they gravitate towards each other. When Stephen and Jack are
the only ones to survive a blast underground Jack shows he feels guilty when he says The one
supposed to get you back safe he feels he has doomed Stephen by escorting him underground. On
page 451 their relationship has come so far they abandon the hierarchy and Jack starts to call
him Stephen. This links back to Part 2 where they were allowed to speak without deference to the

The Twisted Darkness Analysis
The Twisted Darkness
Nathaniel Hawthorne wrote and published many novels and short stories throughout his career,
including several published anonymously. More often readers find a his work to be different
types of romance followed and surrounded with twists of darkness. Based on Hawthorne s
biography you can find most of his characters and the darkness in his stories, come from personal
experience. The mix of success and failure during Hawthorne s writing career resembles parts in
his story The Devil in Manuscript leading to an unfathomable twist for his readers. Born in Salem
Massachusetts in 1804, Nathaniel Hawthorne was born into a prominent family. His ancestors were
some of the earliest to settle in the country; including Nathaniel s late relative John Hathorne who
stood as a judge during the Salem witch trials. The passing of his father to yellow fever,
Nathaniel at age four was raised by his widowed mother in mournful seclusion (Marks 1). Shortly
after the death of his father, his mother moved the family to Maine in 1815 where poetry and
romance peaked Hawthorne s interest (Marks 1).
Graduating Bowdoin College at the age of twenty five, Hawthorne returned to Salem where he
began his writing allegorical stories concerning the moral values of New England (Marks 1).
Nonetheless at just twenty eight years of age, Hawthorne anonymously published his first novel
Fanshawe covering his time spent in college. Disgusted after the novel went virtually unnoticed, his

Conventions related to Prime Minister:
The law does not say anything about how a Prime Minister should be chosen similarly the law
does not require a Prime Minster to be appointed. However the law says that the Monarch may take
on or discharge ministers at her own satisfaction.
On the other hand, conventions believe that the monarch has to request one person to be the Prime
Minister and head a government.
Every Prime Mister has to be a member of both House of Commons and House of Lords. Prime
Ministers in the House of Commons are elected by the public on the other hand the House of Lords
are hereditary peers. http://cms.gcg11.ac.in/attachments/article/259/CONVENTION.pdf
Conventions related to Ministers:
Ministers are given the power to make laws on various areas which are connected to the
government, including some powers legally vested in the Monarch: and ultimately, through
Parliament and parties to the electorate.

A very important piece of who we are as humans are genetics. Without genes, we wouldn t have
the same eye color, hair color, nose size, mouth size, freckles, dimples, and many other physical
appearances. Not only would we not have the same physical appearances, our brains would be
different. Your brain may have diseases that it does not have now. The study of genetics
has come a
very long way since it was first introduced. Nancy Wexler was an enormous contribute to the study
of genetics through personal experiences, the Hereditary Disease Foundation, and her journey in
Venezuela. Nancy Wexler was born July 19, 1945 in Washington, DC. Wexler was planning on
getting a PhD in clinical psychology, until a devastating thing happened to her mother. Nancy s

Her most notorious song was actually not written by Reba, but was a cover of a Bobbie Gentry
song. She related with the song well because she believed she also went from rags to riches (
Reba McEntire Biography ). Reba used her musical career to honor the eight members of her
band that were killed in a plane crash in 1991 (Monaco). The theme song, I m a Survivor ,
belonged to McEntire s show Reba, and hit the charts at number three in 2001 (Branson 79). Her
music is more than catchy tunes, her songs tell stories. The singer released a song titled Is There
a Life Out There . As the song plays, it tells of Margaret Elizabeth, a wife, mother, and waitress (
Reba McEntire Biography ). Reba McEntire is more than just a singer, she is a philanthropist. In
the late eighties, Reba helped benefit concerts for those in need. Before the concerts started, in
1980 Reba McEntire had family that was being treated in the Texoma Medical Center. Her time
their made her think. What if she made a place for families to stay while a loved one was in the
hospital? In 1992, she made the first Reba s Ranch House, a free place to stay while a family
member was seeking medical attention (Maynard). Located in Denison, Texas, the house has been

Flynn Character
The character of Flynn is very likable and relatable. It s easy to care about her. She s not perfect
but that s why the audience likes her. Consider exploring the idea of her fear of abandonment a bit
more. She mentions her father leaving when she was young. This would explain her need to give
Chase a consistent and secure father. It would also trigger some feelings about Nathan leaving her
and her feelings that he abandoned her, especially when she was pregnant, even though he didn t
know about her pregnancy.
At the end, she grows as a character as she realizes not just what is best for her, but what is best
for Chase and Nathan. She also decides to explore her art passion again, which she abandoned,
perhaps out of guilt and/or that she lost a sense of her own identity when Nathan left. One isn t sure
why she stopped painting. It could be something to explore.
Flynn s voice is consistent with her personality. The only area that... Show more content on

There s nice dialogue on page 65 when Bryce explains what attracted him to Flynn i.e. walking with
the wind.
On smaller notes, remember to show and not tell or explain. When Bryce is introduced, his
description is fine, but the viewing audience has no way to understand that he s a humble man who
knows who he is and what he wants. This should be conveyed through his personality and, in fact,
he does come across as humble and reserved.
Elevate the visual storytelling. For example, on page 17, a flash of something unpleasant across
Bryce s face tells us this is not a subject he is interested in discussing can be more visual.
On page 46, when Nathan gets a good look at Bryce and Chase and the wheels turn could be more
visual. Remember, the audience can t see wheels turning.
The script is professionally formatted, although the scene heading for the beach house can be more
specific regarding whose beach house this is important for production and

Comparison Between Indian Philosopher Bhart And Western...
Introduction: Here I want to show the comparison between Indian philosopher Bhartб№›hari and
Western philosopher Wittgenstein they deal with language and reality. According to them that
language and reality depend on individual, a person can conceive two types of relationships
internal and external. Actually what we think about it, language and reality are internally related is
to conceive language as necessary means of cognizing any reality. The world can be different than
what we perceive or describe and hence our language and reality are contingently related. One of
the greatest creations of Bhartrihar is about the relationship between wordand sentence. The word is
not arrived at by putting together the meaning of each word that constitutes it. Not does the
sentence as a whole have a meaning which can explain by the real meaning of words. On the other
hand, the meaning of sentence is invisible but may be explained by meaning of the real words that
constitute it. 20th century s most famous philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein famous for his two
treatises namely, Tractatus and Logico Philosopicus and other is Philosophical Investigations. His
Tractatus is best explained as a synthesis of the theory of truth functions and the idea of language is
a picture of reality. For Wittgenstein also, the meaningful unit is not a word but a sentence.
Bhartrihari and wettgenstain say that there is a public component in the meaning of a word; they
speak differently about the presence and the

This newly born fighter jet is having some growing pains and causing the taxpayer s all kinds of headaches. With the United States trying to be on the cutting edge of technology, the military though up of a plan that could modernize the jet fighter, by creating an all in one type of plane called the F 35. According to a 2014 article in The New York Times, Rough Ride for the F 35 America was going to show case its state of the art war plane at the international air show, the single engine F 35 was a no show. The saying if it s not broke why fix it, it is the prime example of what the Congress is not doing. If the congress would see that the military already has capable planes, they could see that dropping that much money into the F 35 is not the best idea. The A 10 is getting all the pressure from the development of the F 35 just because the Pentagon wants more of a multi role aircraft that the F 35 in theory could do. The Air Force came out and said retiring its fleet of almost 300 Warthogs by 2019 to save an estimated $4.2 billion a year and free up maintainers for the F 35. To free up maintainer for the F 35 if that doesn t say problem child than I don t know what is. With all the money we have spent on the F 35, do we really need it or is it time to cut the jet from the money milk good ol Uncle Sam is feed it? • 3. Success Is No Illusion Greater Than Fear Essay There is no illusion greater than fear. Lao Tzu. Most successful men and women entrepreneurs do not let fear hold them back from achieving what they want. They know that success is not just about having a dream but by overcoming the fear of failure and taking action on that dream or else it will always remain a dream and never a reality. Howard Schultz, CEO of Starbucksand former owner of the Seattle Supersonics, probably realized this at an early age. Howard Schultz was born on July 19, 1953, in Brooklyn, New York and grew up not having much as a child, living in the Brooklyn projects with his parents and two other siblings. He later went to Northern Michigan University on a football scholarship but decided not to play and instead pursued an academic degree. In 1975, Howard Schultz graduated with a BA in Communications and immediately went to work for Xerox Corp. in the sales and marketing division, which eventually led him to Starbucks (Howard). The original Starbucks was founded in 1971, in Seattle s historic Pike Place Market, by three owners Jerry Baldwin, Zev Siegl and Gordon Bowker; who later on hired Howard Schultz to be their director of sales in 1982 (Sun). During Schultz s trip to Italy, he saw the importance of how coffee played a role in the social life of most Italians. It was a main point for the neighborhood, where friends met, mingled and lingered throughout the day. After returning to Seattle, Howard Schultz brought his idea to Starbucks owners ... • 6. An 11th Century Masterpiece Of The Middle Ages An 11Th Century Masterpiece What defines a masterpiece? A masterpiece can be defined as an enduring piece of work that has been widely accepted, as both exceptional and groundbreaking, in a way that greatly influences society. Masterpieces come in many varieties and forms such as art pieces, music, and architecture. One of the greatest masterpieces of the Middle Ages, and one that is still standing today, is the Ely Cathedral. Ely Cathedral s construction began in 1082 and took about three hundred years to be completed (Clark, William W.). During this time, cathedrals arose out of towns and cities, which were the natural centers of Christianity. The Middle Ages was a period of great volatility: a time of invasions, conquering of lands, battles ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The ruling class of the day, consisting of kings, queens and their courts, was deeply intertwined with the Catholic Church. Etheldreda, queen of East Angles who later became a nun, founded a monastery in 673 on the grounds that would later become Ely Cathedral. Upon her death and elevation to sainthood she was enshrined where Ely Cathedral would later rise from the place of the former monastery at the decree of the Bishop of Bangor. The bishops of the Middle Ages held high social status and had great influence because of the high roles they held in the state. They were thus able to spend much of the church s wealth in and around the region of Ely on the creation and construction of Ely Cathedral (Burton, Edwin). This spending greatly led to the birth of Ely Cathedral as a social priority. This priority took the form of a broadening of the social structure that included new trades such as stone cutting, masonry and other forms of skilled labor that led to artistic endeavors such as sculpting and painting all directly impacted by cathedral building ( Cathedral Building in the Middle Ages ). Held in very high spiritual and social regard, the cathedrals throughout Europe, including Ely, commanded a kind of reverence that lasted for hundreds of years much as the Catholic Church had before the church gradually began to lose hold of its dominance as the Renaissance began to flourish. Once the Renaissance took hold many cathedrals, including Ely, were diminished in influence and even damaged or destroyed. Ely, however, withstood time ( The Cathedrals of ... • 12. Reciprocal Altruism And Kin Selection When we study social psychology, we will learn the concept of altruism and egoism. They are a pair of antonym. The definition of altruism is principle or practice of concern for the welfare of others and the definition of egoism is an excessive or exaggerated sense of self importance. We can help other people while taking care of ourselves. However, helping others still waste our time and energy. Although a very small help such as telling strangers the direction of places still consume our time. Therefore, helping is a kind of costing and we want the return. However, there are also some articles that indicated that pure altruism does exist and it is related to empathy. For example, Todd D. Nelson s article Motivational Bases of Pro social and Altruistic Behavior: A critical reappraisal support the idea of true altruism and it is linked to feeling of empathy for the victim. Howeverm Cialdini et al s work Reinterpreting the Empathy Altruism Relationship: When One Into One Equals Oneness also talked about the relationship between empathy and altruism. • 13. Mackenzie King Leadership Unforgettable actions that will always be remembered in honour of Mackenzie King, which made him such a great leader. In my opinion William Lyon Mackenzie King showed that he was an effective leader through his duty of being Canada s 10th Prime Minister for 29 years. King made huge impacts on many lives and both world wars in being Canadas best Prime Minister. Mackenzie King did many effective actions throughout his years of being Prime Minister, however three events stood out the most. King showed that he was an effective leader because he created crown corporations, had a dream to start the British Commonwealth Air Training Program and created Unemployment Insurance for people who needed it. Not only did he serve the longest time as Canada s Prime Minister but he successfully affected many lives. Firstly, Mackenzie King showed great leadership towards the people because of this dream of starting the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan (BCATP). Mackenzie King was determined in 1939 to have a dream which he believed was a sign of the power of the airplane in determining ultimate victory . All over the country, Canadians decided to mobilized to take part in this event. In order to take on this event an army of experts would have to be assembled, a development in airfields and equipment, including airplanes. Between the years 1940 1945 there was 151 schools established and thousands civilians that were members of the Royal Canadian Air Force, mainly the Women s division trained and worked for BCATP facilities. By the end of the Second World War, the BCATP had produced 131,553 aircrew, including pilots, wireless operators, air gunners, and navigators for the Air Forces of Great Britain, Australia, New Zealand and Canada. This all Started when Canada s government realized it was an opportunity for them to make a significant commitment to the Allied war efforts. The final agreement was made on December 17, 1939 and all countries that were involved in this dream signed the papers, which listed the percentages of trainees they need to send, the cost they would need to pay, schedule of training times. • 14. The Issue Of Child Labor The issue of child labor has drawn significant attention since early 1990s as many labor union and special interest groups advocate banning import of goods produced by the child labor in developing countries and the international consensus in the form of Convention on the Right of the Child (CRC) which is widely ratified in 1989 by countries (Boyden, Ling and Myers, 1998). However, concern regarding childlaboris not new and can be dated back to industrial revolution, especially late eighteenth and early nineteenth century, in England many parents were helpless but to send their children to work to cope the increasing poverty and inequality. (Horrell and Humphries, 1995; Edmonds, 2007). Nevertheless, before the industrial revolution and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There have been steady decline in the incidence of child s exposure to hazardous work and child labor on balance. However, the recent estimates of child labor are still astonishingly high and the trend predict even slower pace of decline in child labor. According to ILO report in 2012, for age group 5 17 years 16.7 percent (or 264,427 in absolute number) of children are in some form of employment, 10.6 percent (equivalently 167,956) is considered as child labor, and 5.4 percent (equivalently 85,344) is involved in hazardous work. Although these figures are lower than the corresponding figures in 2000, the absolute numbers of child labor are still very high (ILO 2013). Policy measures adopted to reduce child labor are derived from an increasing number of theoretical and empirical research on this issue specially since late 1990s. Theoretical studies use the household decision making model to explain the incidence of child labor and attempt to find the determinants of child labor. Initial models that attempt to explain the phenomenon of child labor assume an exploitative household where child is considered household s asset and parents are the sole decision maker who maximizes their welfare disregarding the welfare of child. In these models parents are selfish and child labor is chosen if it maximizes household welfare which may disregard ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 16. How Lewis Structures Are Constructed Lewis Structure shows how atoms in a covalent bond share electrons. Dots are used to show lone pairs of electrons, and lines symbolize bonds. This essay will explain how Lewis Structures are constructed. The first step is counting how many valence electrons there are. Determine the number of electrons that are in the outer shells of each atom. For example, H2O has 6 valence electrons in oxygen and 1 in hydrogen. Therefore, there are 8 total since there are two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom. Non valence electrons are not expressed. Next, write the symbols for each atom and connect them with single bonds. The order of the atoms in the formula usually shows connectivity. HCN is written H C N in its Lewis Structure. If there are only two types of atoms, the central atom is usually written first and has lower electronegativity. After writing symbols and connecting elements with single bonds, complete the octets of surrounding atoms with lone pairs. The octet rule states most atoms bond so that every atom has eight electrons in its outer shell to gain stability of the Noble gases. CF4, for example, has all single bonds and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Nitric oxide is an example of this with eleven electrons in its outer shells, and nitrogen ends up with only 6 valence electrons. Another molecule that violates the rule is one that does not need eight valence electrons. For example, in H2O, the hydrogen atoms only need two electrons around them instead of eight. One other example of a violation is when molecules have extra electrons. SF4 is an example as sulfur has a lone pair and four covalent bonds, which gives it 10 valence electrons. This is only possible with atoms that are in the third row of the periodic table or lower with unfilled d orbitals. Therefore, exceptions can only occur in molecules that have odd numbers of electrons or with atoms that have only the first energy level or empty ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

What steps can managers take to prevent core competencies becoming core rigidities? In today s world competition among firms becomes globalized and more intense. In order to become superiorly competitive, companies should enhance its competencies in a way that will allow them to achieve dominant position in a market. One way of accomplishing it is by development of core competencies. Competencies are considered core if they are skillfully performed and are principal to company s strategy and its competiveness (Thompson et al, 2013). The idea of dynamic capabilities lies in a necessity of a company to create, extend and modify its resource base, whether it would be minor continuous improvements; creation of new resources or combination of existing ones in new ways; or a complete renewing of the resource base, depending on how dynamic the environment is, in order to sustain competitive advantage and address external changes. What is important here is the managers perception of the environmental dynamism that providesthe basis for their ability to identify the need for changes and extend those changes when necessary. Kubler Ross 5 Stages Of Grief Essay The prominent and well known five stages of grief created by Elisabeth Kubler Ross have been adopted by professionals to support patients across all settings with the difficult process of death and dying. In Elisabeth Kubler Ross s classic study of the dying process the process of dying has a universality to it which connects all human beings despite each experience being individualistic. Many individuals experience and adopt these stages after being faced with the reality of their impending deathor the death of a loved one. Medical professionals can support patients with this process by providing meaningful and multidimensional care that can include pain management, patient advocacy, and _____ . Kubler Ross identified five linear stages of grief. Most all patients are faced with the initial stage in the process which is denial and isolation. This stage usually is in a shock response to poor and life changing news. This first stage of grieving helps us to survive the loss (Kubler Ross, Pg. 10) A patient in denial often ... • 20. Cleisthenes As An Opportunist Cleisthenes was the Athenian politician setting the stage of democracy around c.520 BC and to c.400 BC. An opportunist is defined by Oxford dictionaries as: A person who takes advantage of opportunities as and when they arise, regardless of planning or principle . For many, this sums up the rule of Cleisthenesas he took advantage of the anti tyrannical movement and of the power he was given to improve the position of himself and his Alcmaeonid family. However, this essay will argue that although Cleisthenes did take advantage of opportunities, he was ultimately very principled in nature and was actually a reactionist. This is to say that he reacted to problems and events that occurred and dealt with them the best he could, rather than taking advantage of the opportunity to better himself, the elite classes or his family. To many, Cleisthenes was simply an opportunist. One way he can be said to be opportunistic is during his rise to power. This idea has stemmed from the ancient Greek author Herodotus, and in parts Aristotle as well. On the whole, these are two ancient authors with semi opposing views, with Herodotus being a stronger source for stating Cleisthenes was an opportunist. The main reason most historians believe that Cleisthenes was an opportunist is because of the account from Herodotus histories. The account is as follows: these two [Isagoras and Cleisthenes] were rivals for power, and Cleisthenes, who was getting the worst of it, took the people into his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 21. How Did The Native American Removal Compared To The Holocaust The Native Americans removal can be compared to the Holocaust, but it also can t not be compared to the Holocaust. I ll start with how the removal can be compared to the Holocaust,we remove the Native Americans from their land because gold was found and moved the Native Americans, these can be compared to how the Germans took Jews to the camps. Another way to show these two events similar is when Jews had to wear a yellow star on their clothing to show they are a Jew,it s like the Renaming Program for the Native American to have a christian name or a white man name. Also was the battle of Little Bighorn, the Native American tribe was attacked by the troops of US soldiers attacked without warning or even a reason, just like how the German choose Jews to go to the forced labor camps to work everyday without a reason why they were doing it. Another way to show the two are similar,is the Native Americans didn t control the reservation land it was the Us Government that ultimately controlled it, just like the Holocaust the Jew did have a choice of what happen in the forced labor camps. On the Other side the Native American removal can t be compared with the Holocaust. The death count, the most I believe Native American death would be around forty thousand, the Holocaust death was more than two hundred thousand deaths. Another reason that these two can t be compared is the Native American got clothing unlike the Holocaust Jews bearly got any clothing. Native American were able to hunt for food in a fenced off area it was completly different then the Holocaust Jews not recieving any food at all. I believe the American government didn t make an attempt to help the Native Americans into the American culture. The medicine for the Indians that were ill was cod liver oil;no hospitals;no decent medicine;and doctors to help ill or injured Native Americans. What made me believe that the US Government of these was the reservation the Native America were placed on, Standing Rock. The Standing Rock reservation could only support only one generation, and it could barely do that much. • 24. Luxury Goods Serve A Purpose Introduction Luxury goods serve a purpose that extends way beyond functionality and need. A bag that costs $15,000 or a pair of shoes priced at $500 does not necessarily signal that they perform better than goods priced significantly lower. The disproportionate prices of luxury goods reflect so much more than the eye can see, the history behind the brand, the story that it tells, and the scarcity and exclusivity it aims to achieve in the mind of the consumer. A premium brand, by contrast, can generally be described as a good that a customer pays more for because they are getting higher quality product. Luxury brands are not inherently inferior because they do not offer higher functionality. Sometime signaling the belonging to an exclusive group is important to a person, and thus worth the monetary cost. A premium product, though, is a good that people are willing to pay more because they believe they get more, whether that is higher quality or better performance. A customer does not purchase a luxury product because they know it will perform better, they purchase it because of the status and appearance that it signals to those around them. The distinction between luxury and premium is significant because many brands are unsure of where they want to position themselves. In order for a high end brand to be successful it needs to position themselves as either providing some benefit that justifies the price, or as a fantasy that the customer needs to pay for to be a part of. ... I mentioned that one of the branches of our national security is the security of natural resources and energy. By the word energy is meant the power of doing work; and the energy which a laboring man possesses means, in the strictly physical sense, the number of units which he is capable of accomplishing, (Stewart, 647). Since man require such energy to do work, it is important that a group focus solely on energy security. Energy and natural resources can consist of materials we use in our everyday lives; water, sources of energy such as the wind and sun, fossil fuel, land, and power. As of 2011, the US has been one of the world s largest energy consumers (Sovacool). It was only necessary that the scheme to defraud should be devised or intended to be devised and a letter placed in the post office for the purpose of executing the scheme or attempting to do so. The breadth of the statute was extended two years later when the United States Supreme Court held, to satisfy the mailing requirement, it is sufficient for the mailing to be incident to an essential part of the scheme or a step in the plot. This broad standard remained until Kann v. United States, 322 U.S. 88 (1944). In Kann v. United States, the defendants were corporate officers and directors who were accused of creating a dummy corporation in order to divert profits into their own pockets. As part of this fraudulent scheme, the defendants allowed the corporation to issue checks payable to the both of them. The defendants cashed the checks at local banks, which then mailed the checks to the drawee banks for collection. The court held that the mailing of the cashed checks to the drawee banks could not supply the mailing element of the mail fraud charges. The defendant s fraudulent scheme had reached fruition. It was immaterial to them, or to any consummation of the scheme, how the bank which paid or credited the check would collect from the drawee bank. LLP is a partnership consisting of one or more general partners and one or more limited partners (p. 554). It was created to limit the personal liability of the partners of losing their personal assets to only their own acts and omissions and to the acts and omissions of people under their supervision (Nickels, McHugh, McHugh, 2013, p. 119). This business form also allows a partnership to continue as a pass through entity for tax purposes (Miller, 2014, p. 554). Fire experts argue that prescribed burns are vital for reducing the risk of catastrophic blazes and restoring ecosystems that evolved with fire (Tobin 2). But, is it possible for you to reminisce alongside me? Can you smell the coffee and feel the impact of your shoes on the concrete floor as I did? Obviously not, you would probably say, as you were not there with me. However, suppose that I brought you with me. Are you smelling the coffee, seeing the lights, and feeling the floor in the same way that I do? I would say no, as would many philosophers. This is because you and I are fundamentally different persons with fundamentally different qualia. In this paper, I will examine three highly influential arguments for ... One of the most significant relationships, if not the most, is the friendship between Jack Firebrace and the main character, Stephen Wraysford. This is because Jack remains a constant in Stephen s war life which contrasts with all the other relationships with the men Stephen makes as he suffered the loss of many of them. The structure of Part 2, 4 and 6 was interesting as most of the chapters begin in Jack s point of view of Stephen which is a narrative technique Faulks has used to show the relationship being conjured and that the lives of these two men are bound. Jack s admiration for Stephen is further shown on page 372 where he cannot remember what his son, John s, face so he has taken to drawing Stephen instead which also shows his importance in his life. After Michael Weir s death he and Stephen become closer, as one relationship breaks down another solidifies as they have both lost so many people so they gravitate towards each other. When Stephen and Jack are the only ones to survive a blast underground Jack shows he feels guilty when he says The one supposed to get you back safe he feels he has doomed Stephen by escorting him underground. On page 451 their relationship has come so far they abandon the hierarchy and Jack starts to call him Stephen. This links back to Part 2 where they were allowed to speak without deference to the officers while they were underground to help cope with how difficult the conditions were, Stephen and Jack are just two human beings trying to survive, the side of the war you are on doesn t matter underground when you have several hundred thousand tons of France above your head. • 46. Comparison Between Indian Philosopher Bhart And Western... Introduction: Here I want to show the comparison between Indian philosopher Bhartб№›hari and Western philosopher Wittgenstein they deal with language and reality. According to them that language and reality depend on individual, a person can conceive two types of relationships internal and external. Actually what we think about it, language and reality are internally related is to conceive language as necessary means of cognizing any reality. The world can be different than what we perceive or describe and hence our language and reality are contingently related. One of the greatest creations of Bhartrihar is about the relationship between wordand sentence. The word is not arrived at by putting together the meaning of each word that constitutes it. Not does the sentence as a whole have a meaning which can explain by the real meaning of words. On the other hand, the meaning of sentence is invisible but may be explained by meaning of the real words that constitute it. 20th century s most famous philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein famous for his two treatises namely, Tractatus and Logico Philosopicus and other is Philosophical Investigations. His Tractatus is best explained as a synthesis of the theory of truth functions and the idea of language is a picture of reality. For Wittgenstein also, the meaningful unit is not a word but a sentence. Bhartrihari and wettgenstain say that there is a public component in the meaning of a word; they speak differently about the presence and the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
