The War Photo No One Would Publish Analysis
The Limitations of Censorship
In The War Photo No One Would Publish , the author Torie Rose DeGhett depicts the meaning of
censorship. DeGhett proposes that pictures should always be published so the viewers can get the full
effect of what is happening in the world. DeGhett also proposes the idea that it s hard to calculate the
consequences of a photographs absence (DeGhett Page 74). This statement leads to the idea of
censorship causing the argument of whether certain media outlooks should be censored to the public
or not. Personally, I believe that the ethics of censorship is a controversial topic. People should have
the right to view/hear any material they wish, however, there should be standard limitations on certain
topics that are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although Perez doesn t post about the horrors of war, he does posts about the horrors of society and
the catastrophic events that happen to celebrities. Perez is known to not have a filter and in doing so
his stories and uncensored and eradicated. Many people strive to report devastating stories on
celebrities and Perez showcases those celebrities in their worst moments of life. There is an estimate
of 8.8 million people [who] read his website within a twenty four hour period which means that
several people are reading exploiting stories on someone s life (Klosterman Page 225). In providing
this website Perez is hurting others career and family life so, should his website be censored from the
internet? This draws a fine line on the topic of censorship because should the people not have the right
to view the material or if they should be blocked. Personally, I think it should be up to the person to
decide if he or she wants to look at unflattering images of celebrities or believe convoluted stories to
make themselves feel better. On the other hand, some people might wish not to view certain media
because they have ethical standards that don t need to be entertained with other people s lives.
Censorship should be based off individual morals in which they can decide what they think should and
shouldn t be censored

Cardiovascular Disease Prevention Program
Cardiovascular Disease Prevention Program Cardiovascular is a class of disease that involve the heart
or the blood vessels which includes veins, arteries, and capillaries, or both can affect the cardio system
(Nordqvist, 2014).The CVD system convey oxygenated blood through the arteries for the entire body.
Cardiovascular can cause other illness associated with the disease like coronary artery and heart
disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and strokes. How do these diseases affect the body? Coronary
artery and heart disease happens when plaque builds up where damage occurs in the arteries due to
smoking, high levels of fats and cholesterol in the blood, and inflammation in the blood vessels
(National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, 2012). High blood pressure (Hypertension) is cause when
the heart has to work harder to execute blood for the body and it also hardens the arteries which later
develops heart failure. Several conditions will cause HBP or hypertension like smoking, overweight,
lack of physical activity, high sodium diet or alcohol consumption, stress and family history. Diabetes
occurs when the body does not have adequacy to produce any or enough insulin (triglyceride) causes
elevated levels of glucose in the blood ( what is diabetes Google Search ). Stroke develops when
blood clots block an artery or a blood vessel breaks that interfere with the blood flow to a region of the
brain (National Stroke Association, 2014).

Peasants Dbq
Peasant s revolts DBQ In 1517, Martin Luther posted his 95 Theses on a Church in Germany and
began a change Europe. Many people second guessed how the Catholic Church was practicing
religious teachings and this grew in Germany. After years of battling for religious reforms, a new
religion was formed named Lutheranism. Between 1524 and 1526, German peasants began to revolt
the Holy Roman Empire. The peasant revolts were caused by greed and wanting to get rid of serfdom
and corrupt leaders in the Holy Roman Empire, and both positive and negative responses were seen.
Most positive responses were seen by peasants while most negative responses were shown by some
religious leaders and Holy Roman Empire leaders. Many peasants, seeing these ... Show more content

Documents 2,3,5,6 illustrate the positive responses. Documents 1, 7,9,10 illustrate negative responses.

The Energy Power Of Natural Resources Essay
Most of the energy to power our homes comes from fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and natural gas. Due
to environmental concerns there has been a considerable drive to move away from these finite
resources to renewable forms of energy. Harnessing the power of natural resources has seen
significant developments over the past three decades. The use of solar energy to power our homes has,
arguably, seen the most advancement. The sun is made up of helium and hydrogen atoms and emits
radiant energy. Nuclear fusion is the process by which these elements are transformed. Nuclear fusion
is, the combination of two small atomic nuclei to produce one larger nucleus (Hill, McCreary pg.
334). In the sun s core four hydrogen atoms combine to form one helium atom through nuclear fusion.
However, the new helium atom has less mass than the beginning hydrogen atoms. The left over matter
is not lost but transformed into radiant energy. The law of conservation of energy states, Energy
cannot be created or destroyed, only transformed (Hill, McCreary pg. 444). The by product of this
transformation of atoms is the left over radiant energy becomes solar energy here on Earth. So how do
we channel the sun s radiant power into useable solar energy? With the use of photovoltaic (PV) cells.
PV cells are used to collect sunlight and convert it into electricity. According to Kathie Zipp with

Salmonella Lab Report
Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium (S. Typhimurium) is a pathogen commonly associated with
localized intestinal infection in humans. For its survival and propagation as a facultative intracellular
pathogen, this Gram negative bacterium has developed a variety of ways to manipulate host cell
processes (Malik Kale et al. 2011). Besides phagocytic internalization (by, e.g., macrophages,
neutrophils, or dendritic cells), Salmonella infection is characterized by the bacterial induced uptake
of the pathogen into non phagocytic enterocytes of intestinal epithelium (Perrett Zhou 2013).
Essential to the pathogenesis and colonization of host tissues by S. typhimurium are virulence factors
encoded on different regions of chromosome, known as Salmonella ... Show more content on

This mechanism of defense is called colonization resistance (Sekirov et al. 2010). Resident microbiota
and incoming pathogens compete for resources in the intestine. In a healthy intestine, normal
microflora establishes mutually beneficial relations with intestinal mucosa and effectively eliminates
pathogens. Inflammatory host responses triggered by virulence factors of S. Typhimurium can alter
conditions in the intestine and shift the competition between protective microbiota and the incoming
pathogen, which is able to survive in and profit from the altered niche (Stecher et al. 2007), whereas to
intestinal microbiota host responses are unfavorable (Sekirov et al.

Love And Popularity In Romeo And Juliet
Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare is a romantic tragedy about two young lovers from feuding
families who fall in love, however kill themselves due to a series of confusions. In the play, love and
romance is a predominant theme, a powerful force which greatly influences the characters decisions
and actions. Shakespeare uses a number of literary techniques such as oxymorons, imagery and
dramatic irony to explore the theme of love and romance. Shakespeare s comparison of the ideas of
love and hate demonstrates the unsettling love of Romeo towards Rosaline. In Act 1 Scene 1, Romeo
uses a number of oxymorons whilst expressing his love for Rosaline in his conversation with
Benvolio, such as O brawling love . The word brawling has connotations ... Show more content on

Romeo says, Call me but love, and I ll be new baptized. / Henceforth I never will be Romeo. . This
emphasises Romeo s strong love towards Juliet, as he is keen to break the links to his family and deny
himself as a Montague in order to be with her. Although Romeo is blindly in love with Juliet and is
hopeful about their future, the audience are aware that the fate of Romeo and Juliet is predestined due
to their family feud, and is unchangeable regardless to their relationship. Romeo changing his name
will make no difference to the long standing feud between the Montagues and the Capulets, and this is
seen in Act 5 Scene 3, when the two star crossed lovers kill themselves. Therefore, Romeo s
passionate love for Juliet and the audience s awareness of their tragic ending further highlights the
purity of Romeo s feelings for

Financial Statements Of Cash Flow
The statement of cash flow is one of the financial statements that shareholders tend to evaluate to
ensure that all transactions are properly stated in each of the three activities mentioned above;
operating, investing, and financing. The statement of cash flows is also commonly overlooked by both
the balance sheets and income statements numbers.
The cash flow statement is important for the business as it brings valuable information that can help
evaluate a corporation. The statement will show if the business is low on money even if the financial
statements shows that is profitable. It will reflect if the owner withdrew to much cash from the
corporation. It will also reflect the principal payment of a loan and the correct amount used to acquire
equipment, property, and other assets that the income statement will not show. The absence of this
statement can hinder the operation of a business as the owner could easily fall in the negative (loss) by
not having eyes on the cash out flow exceeding the cash inflow.
Therefore, the adaptation of having a statement of cash flows becomes essential to any business or
organization. With the adaption of such a system personnel such as stakeholders become essential.
Stakeholders are a key role personnel when it comes to motivating the employees, acquiring resources
to assist on the final decision or final project, provide a valuable input, and ultimately build trust with
to increase consensus at the final decision making. The

Causes And Effects Of Stress
Stress
Stress is a mental or emotional tension. It is a normal, everyday, part of life. Stress can be bad, but it
can also lead to a useful purpose. It can be anywhere from short term to long term stress and
symptoms can be anywhere from sweating to depression. Stress can be caused by many different
things and can have many different symptoms; therefore each cause and each symptom can vary from
person to person.
Stress is the body s reaction to any change that requires an adjustment or response (webmd.boots).
The body reacts to these changes with physical, cognitive, behavioral, and emotional responses.
Physical responses are like insomnia, difficulty swallowing, clenched jaw, sweaty palms, or stumbling
your words (The Impact of Stress). Cognitive signs are mental slowness, worrying, inability to focus,
or difficulty concentrating (Stress Symptoms). Behavioral responses are when you feel overworked,
irritation, or no sense of humor. Emotional signs are sense of loneliness, poor work relations, or
avoiding social contact (The Impact of Stress).
Everybody has different stress triggers. 40% of US workers admit to experiencing office stress (causes
of stress). It can be caused by an unhappy job, work overload, working long hours, poor management,
dangerous conditions, discrimination, or being insecure about your chance of be promoted. Home life
also causes a lot of stress. This can be death of a loved one, divorce, marriage, moving, illness or
injury, taking care of an elderly family member, or a traumatic event. Stress can also be caused from
the inside, like fear, uncertainty, worrying, and change (causes of stress). Your stress level will differ
based on your personality. It will also differ on how you personally respond to situations. Your body
can show stress in multiple ways. Muscles can tighten, your energy levels can drop, or your blood
pressure can rise (Heid). Due to stress, you can break out, your hair can fall out, your stomach can
ache, your ears can ring, and your nails can look funky. Stress could also cause scrapes and cuts to not
heal. This is because stress can draw water away from your skin s outer layers which affects your skin
s ability to regenerate and repair itself

United Airlines And Merger With Continental Airlines Essay
ABSTRACT
UAL Corp. s United Airlines announced merger with Continental Airlines Inc. on May 3, 2010 and
became the world s largest airline. This $3 billion merger between the two airline companies lifted the
beigest regulatory hurdle ever in the international aviation sector. In this paper, I will review through
the timeline that covers from the announcement of the merger to the completion with major milestones
noted and what role the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) was playing in this merger.
TIMELINE
June 2008: CEOs of both United Airlines and Continental Airlines signed and alliance pact. The
alliance is an agreement to link international networks and share technology and passenger perks. This
agreement is basically a virtual merger that includes many of the benefits of a merger without the
actual costs and restructuring involved. The alliance took effect about a year after Delta Air Lines and
Northwest Airlines completed their merger, as that released Continental from the SkyTeam contract
and allowed for the required nine month notice. Additionally, Continental joined the Star Alliance, as
Delta and Northwest merged.
April 2010: United Airlines was reported to be in serious merger discussion with US Airways.
May 2, 2010: The board of Directors at Continental and United Airlines approved a stock swap deal
that would combine them into the world s largest airline. Both airlines have taken losses in the
recession and expect the merger to generate savings of more than $1

George Bernard Shaw and John Edwards seem to share some quite similar beliefs regarding language
and identity. More specifically, how language alters one s identity. Edwards uses discussions involving
class, gender, and dialect; while Shaw uses his character, Eliza Doolittle to discuss these connections
between language and identity. Both authors debunk the stereotypical perception about language and
groups, just in two separate ways. Edwards explains it over several chapters of his text Language and
Identity , whereas Shaw demonstrates it through one person. One s class would be one the greatest
stereotypical perceptions pertaining to language and groups. In Shaw s Pygmalion, the storyline starts
with a horrible storm. This storm forces classes of all types to crowd together out to seek shelter.
Ideally, the higher class would not be caught associating with the lower class. However, a mother sees
Eliza talking with her son, Freddy, and immediately goes to investigate. As a mother of that time, it is
believed that Freddy should not associate himself with someone like Eliza. Eliza Doolitttle is roughly
eighteen years of age, speaks what is called gutter language , and she sells flowers illegally.

Planned Parenthood Pros And Cons
Planned parenthood is an organization that provides healthcare and sexual education to women,
men,and kids. Planned parenthood was created by Margaret Sanger, her sister Ethel Byre, and an
activist Fania Mindell, and the first center was opened October 16, 1916. The reason Sanger wanted to
create centers like this was because her mother had very fragile health conditions on getting pregnant
with her children. Therefore Sanger traveled to England to study birth control. Along her way to
England she educated as many people as she could on what we was going to do. The first clinic that
they opened was shut down because people were lining up to get in, so the police came to see what

Pro life is opposed to abortion ( Merriam Webster Dictionary ). Women that have abortions at planned
parenthood facilities do not refer to killing the baby as an abortion they refer to it as healing of a
disease. They did a study and it showed most women have these abortions because they want to
restore their current self and to protect their future self. The current self is referred to as the lifestyle
she is currently living, and the future self is what she anticipate what her life will look like in the
future like her career or job. Planned parenthood works with this thinking in to convince the women
that having an abortion will make everything all right but normally the women are never the same
after their abortion. Planned parenthood centers don t provide the post treatment after an abortion such
as counseling, to treat the emotional, physical, and social needs after these women have went through
something so tragic. Finally, planned parenthood denies the humanity of the unborn child (Pauls and

Tom Buchanan And George Wilson Essay
Tom Buchanan is a snobby rich person who cares about nobody but himself and does not work. Tom
also uses his money as a weapon to get whatever he likes or wants. George Wilson is a lower class
man who has little money and has worked his whole life trying to live off of little bits of money that
he makes. George Wilson is a hardworking low to middle class mechanic.

very bad anger issues; an excellent example is when he hits myrtle for disrespecting his wife Daisy
Buchanan She looked at me and laughed pointlessly.(69 70)g . George Wilson does not treats those
around in the same manner they treat him. George Wilson has anger issues when it comes to people

cook food and to keep animals away. Brian makes the fire with his hatchet and a rock. First, he figures
out that he needs some paper so he takes his 20 dollar bill and tries to burn it. Unfortunately, the bill
just burns right out and leaves him with no fire. After that, he takes his hatchet and cuts small pieces
of bark. Then he piles them up under twigs. Then he takes his hatchet and hits a rock with a great blow
and sparks catch the bark on fire. He hits another blow and the sparks catch the twigs on fire.
Therefore, he has a fire. This process shows that whatever Brian sets his mind to he can do it. About
two months later Brian went to the bottom of the lake to see if there was anything useful in the plane.

William Golding s Lord Of The Flies
To be an effective society, itś important to have a few key qualities such as teamwork or cooperation
and order. These make achieving goals much easier, and in the end, it leads to success by completing
the tasks needed to get towards the goal, whether that be obtaining food or conquering an entire
continent. In Golding s Lord of the Flies, a lack of mutual respect between the leaders and followers
as well as the failure to unite themselves to work together for the same goals, resulted in chaos, and
ultimately, the division and failure of their society on the island. Without respect in their society, a

The Contributions of Isaac Newton Essays
Isaac Newton was born in Lincolnshire, on December 25, 1642. He was educated at Trinity College in
Cambridge, and resided there from 1661 to 1696 during which time he produced the majority of his
work in mathematics. During this time New ton developed several theories, such as his fundamental
principles of gravitation, his theory on optics otherwise known as the Lectiones Opticae, and his work
with the Binomial Theorem. This is only a few theories that that Isaac Newton contributed to the
world of mathematics. Newton contributed to all aspects of mathematics including geometry, algebra,
and physics. Isaac Newton was born into a poor farming family in 1642 with no father. Newton s

Later he read and mastered Oughtred s Clavis, and Descartes Geometry, which led him to take up
mathematics rather than chemistry as a serious study.
As a result of the Plague, from 1665 threw 1666 Newton had spent a great deal of time at home.
During this time it seems evident that a great deal of his best work was accomplished. He thought out
the fundamental principles of his theory of gravitation. He determined that every particle of matter
attracts every other particle. Yet he suspected that the attraction varied depending on the product of
their masses. He suspected that the force, which retained the moon in its orbit around the earth, was
the same as the terrestrial gravity. And to prove this hypothesis he proceeded by doing this. He knew
that if a stone wall were allowed to fall near the surface of the earth, the attraction of the earth caused
the stone wall to move though sixteen feet in one second.
The moon s orbit relative to the earth is nearly a circle, and as a rough approximation assuming so, he
knew the distance of the moon, and therefore the length of its path. He also knew the time it took the
moon to go around the earth once, a month. Therefore Newton could find its veloisty at any point such
as M. Then he could find the distance MT through which it would move in the next second if it were
not pulled by the earth s attraction. At the end of the second it was at

not only damaging emotionally, physically, and mentally to the person who is doing it, but to the
people around them as well. Both alcoholism and alcohol abuse are each categorized as different

People may think that alcohol may be hard only on the liver, but when someone abuses alcohol it can
affect much more. For example, alcohol has a major effect on the brain. Alcohol has been known to be
a major cause of many suicides, homicides, car accidents, and other death related topics
(Chakraburtty). Many people are naïve into thinking that alcohol can and is harmless, but while they
are having that drink to just have a good time, they are unaware of the toll it is taking on their body.
Chronic alcohol use is very hard on your health and can lead to many long lasting health problems
(Chakraburtty). Alcohol is very harmful to other organs as well as the body s tissue. According to
Alcohol s Damaging Effects on the Brain, moderate drinking leads to short term impairment, but it
can also lead to long term impairment as well (Parsons). The long term impairment that can happen,
especially with parents, is the huge effect on the people around the alcoholic. Parents that have a
drinking problem tend to be blinded and cannot see the damage that is being done. Children who are
exposed to any alcoholism may struggle in school, work, and other activities ( Teens ). Parents who
are abusing alcohol pay more attention to their own problems and trying to cope with them, rather
than focusing on their kids and the damage that is possibly building up in that child. Often times the

The Significance Of Strategic Bombing Of Germany
In this essay I will assess the significance of strategic bombing of Germany. I will do this by
evaluating four key areas of the German war effort. This will include German and British moral,
German economy, its effect on the outcome of the Eastern Front and the results of the preparation for
D Day. Overall allied bombing did not have a significant impact on the outcome of the war as for the
majority of the war bombing techniques and technology were primitive and so had little effect. It only
became a threatening tool latter on in the war, when the allies had effectively won.
One potentially significant area of impact caused by strategic bombing was its effect on German
moral. This is because it was expected to terrify and shock the German ... Show more content on

This panic combined with the bombing of a single rocket research station was enough to make the
Luftwaffe chief of staff, Hans Jeschonnek, commit suicide. The devastating effect of these events was
amplified by the fear of an invasion of Germany, due to the Allied forces landing in Normandy and the
Russians approaching from the East. However, because of the unreliability of bomber commands
performance the Nazis managed to quickly control the situation. They ensured that no photographs or
news reports were published from the bomb stricken reports meaning that the rest of Germany could
only gather information from stories and tales. On top of this only a small part of Germany was
bombed as the allied forces simply did not have the technology to reach the majority of the Reich.
That it was relatively easy for the country to regroup, resulting in heavy retaliation and a continuous
growth in German production. However, in the last years of the war bombing technology drastically
improved and the attacks were relentless. As opposed to less than one quarter of bombs dropping
within five miles of the target, each bomb now hit their target and inflicted maximum damage due to
new aiming technology. Bombing raids were now performed twenty four hours a day, in the night by
Bomber Command and in the day by the heavily armoured bombers in the American 8th squadron.

The Effectiveness Of A Connection
The Effectiveness of a Connection in Relation to a Tragedy As art becomes more prevalent, intricate,
and sophisticated in culture so does its impact on a viewer. A viewer must experience a work of art
and connect to it in order for it to be considered effective. Ajax by Sophocles can be considered a
work of art because of its ability to connect to an audience. Sophocles play follows a warrior named
Ajax who was threatening to kill Odysseus to obtain the armor he believed was rightfully his, which
causes the goddess Athena to cast a curse leaving him blind with rage and in a state where he
slaughters hordes of animals believing that they are his enemies. Ajax later becomes distraught to the
point of suicide. Bryan Doerries produced a version of Ajax to relate to veterans through his company,
Theater of War. This company s specific purpose is to de stigmatize psychological injury, increase
awareness of post deployment psychological health issues, disseminate information regarding
available resources, and foster greater family community, and troop resilience through the
performance of Ancient Greek plays to military and civilian communities (Outside the Wire). Because
of this purpose, the audience is able to form an intense connection with Ajax and fulfill the purpose of
art. While looking at Aristotle s Theory of Tragedy and the six most important features of a tragedy, it
becomes apparent that connection through all six features is the only way to create effective art.

Comparing Poems My Last Duchess And Porphyria s Lover
TITLE
Robert Browning s poems, My Last Duchess ( MLD ) and Porphyria s Lover ( PL ) take the form of
dramatic monologues and are striking examples of literature written in the Victorian era. Due to their
form, a great interaction is developed between the reader and narrator, with an additional oratory
effect; this allows the audience to understand a situation less ambiguously through features such as
tone. Therefore, Browning is able to present male and female characters more completely.
Furthermore, the poems accurately convey gender inequality present in Victorian society, hinting at
the lack of liberties given to women.
In MLD, Browning employs the Duke as narrator, developing the reader s perception of his
personality through use of language and literary devices. As a result, the Duke inadvertently portrays
himself as egocentric, proprietorial and at times arrogant, psychotic and paranoid. He refers to the
painting of his late wife as my last Duchess , with the possessive pronoun my indicating the Duchess
is just another of his possessions. This element of the Duke s ... Show more content on

Therefore, bias may be introduced as the narrator would not portray himself with negative facets.
Consequently, the reliability of the narrator becomes questionable. This is amplified in MLD, where
the Duke s proud nature possibly hinders the truth. In PL, Browning repetitively attempts to depict
Porphyria s lover as innocent, while in reality the murder was manic and psychotic. As a result,
uncertainty is created throughout PL, as such a narrator may be deceptive. So, the reader s perception
of Porphyria s lover might be incorrect, especially during his period of euphoria when Porphyria
appears to give herself up to him. This unreliability acts as another way for Browning to portray the
male characters, as a misleading narrator will introduce a whole range of negative

Essay On Animal Extinction
Pleading Guilty to Animal Extinction Animal extinction rates have skyrocketed within recent years
due to the numerous detrimental human and environmental activities that currently wreak havoc on
our planet. Human beings alone are placing enough strain on animals to leave lasting and harmful
effects for years to come. Due to the steadily growing population, individuals are turning untouched
pieces of land into developmental projects to benefit humans. However, these sources of land are
home to a multitude of species whom are now struggling to survive due to these changes to their
habitat. Along with dismantling species environments, some individuals are also engaging in illegal
wildlife trade in order to keep up with the growing demand for numerous types of products. In
addition, deforestation is another activity humans participate in that negatively impacts animals
environments to benefit their own. However, there are also numerous types of environmental activities
that affect animals as well. Climate change and different types of pollution are proving to be harmful
as well. Overall, unless action is taken to overcome the consequences animals currently face due to the
harmful activities caused by humans and environmental factors, species will continue to fall victim to
extinction. Animals are losing their habitats at a rapid rate due to the detrimental acts humans engage
in throughout their life. Individuals are destroying animals habitats in order to fulfill the wants

Capitalist Theory Of Capitalism
Capitalist structures were thought to be double hermeneutic by Weber. A double hermeneutic is a
theory, expounded by sociologist Anthony Giddens, that everyday lay concepts and those from social
sciences have a two way relationship. A common example is the idea of social class; a social scientific
category that has perpetuated into wider use in society (WIKIPEDIA, 2017). These people were a
group of religious scholars, who believed that the truth that is included within the text, is wider than
the words on the page. Through these religious scholars and their beliefs eventually led to the
evolution from a religious society to a capitalist society. The capitalist society that we live in today,
created a market system used from religious beliefs, presenting the payments for sins committed by an
individual in the future and for not confessing the sins committed in the present. Modern capitalism
still refers to Weber s theory today, showing interest of how each individual has their own path chosen,
depending on the amount of money they own, organising ourselves into different organisations as well
as, the different societies we join within the hierarchy. Through the different societies of our day to
day lives we see each of them joining together as one, expressing ideas and thoughts to create the
markets systems we see in this century.
So what is the structural drive for efficiency?
The drive for efficiency is based on individuals which creates success and greed, due to

language to describe the ensuing chase where the boy pleads in dusty zinnias as the woman pursues
and corners him (Hayden). Hayden intentionally crafts vivid imagery of a terrifying pursuit to

catches him she whips him till the stick breaks causing the to cry, which are rainy weather to wound

The Role Of Women s Suffrage In The United States
Women, for a long time, were one of the most undervalued assets essential to life in the late 1800s and
early 1900s. Throughout recorded history, women have been treated as less than men. They have been
viewed as simply a vessel for reproduction or a maid to do housework and prepare meals for her
husband. In many ancient cultures and some cultures today women are viewed merely as possessions.
Surprisingly, women were even oppressed in the United States, which was founded upon freedom and
equality. Women have been struggling to shed the chains of motherhood and be recognized as equal
human beings for as long as written records have been around. The unequal treatment of women was
often based on religion or tradition. The United States did not ... Show more content on

The supporters of inequality often feared changing old traditions. Some of the inequality had its base
rooted in religion. In the United States the predominant religion was Christianity. In the Bible, the man
is supposed to be the breadwinner of the family, while the woman oversees all the household duties.
People latched onto this idea which meant if you attacked that idea, you were attacking their religious
beliefs. What these people did not take into consideration is that when the Bible was written times
were different. When using historical accounts to develop ones beliefs you must take into
consideration that life may not be the same as it was when the event occurred. In Bible times, every
society was one hundred percent agrarian. This means when the Bible talks about men being
responsible for all the work and providing for his family, it is referring to the physical labor that must
go into producing food and running a farm. The Bible, for the most part, just divides the work of
having a family based on individual strengths. Men are biologically inclined to be physically stronger
and women are biologically inclined to nurture and be more gentle. The division of the work in that
way made sense during ancient times. The Bible does not say that women absolutely cannot do work
if they want to. It certainly does not encourage discrimination of women who do

The Development of Antibiotic Resistance
For many years people have wondered why the antibiotics that are used so commonly nowadays are
not as effective as they once were. Just like organisms evolve throughout time, resistance to certain
things can also evolve. This resistance however is not something that happens naturally but rather is a
man made process which was caused via the misuse, overuse, and/or underuse of antibiotics (Davies
2010). The author Davies explains that there is no better example of the Darwinian notions of
selection and survival than the spread of antibiotic resistance and how the bacteria have evolved with
traits that make them that way. The more people use antibiotics, especially when not necessary, the
higher the chance of bacteria in the body growing resistant to those antibiotics. Major problems have
arisen such as cells becoming resistant to antibiotics because its selection pressure is reduced or
eliminated. This means that one must counteract this by continually increasing the antibiotic
concentration in proportion to the increased resistance (Rosenthal and Elowitz 2012). To understand
how bacteria became resistant to antibiotics, one must first understand the origin of antibiotics and its
introduction into the body. Once these antibiotics were discovered and first started being used, it was
not long after that that they regrettably were accompanied by the appearance of some resistant strains

Physical Therapy Essay examples
According to the Bureau of Labor and Statics, in 2008, there were about 185,000 practicing Physical
Therapists. It is predicted that in year 2018, there will be 241,700 practicing Physical Therapists
(Bureau...). A physical therapist is a healthcare professional that can diagnose and treat a person.
Physical therapists work with people of all ages that have a problem or disease that limits their ability
to perform daily tasks. To become a physical therapist, you need either a Masters of Physical Therapy
or a Doctorate of Physical Therapy. There are 212 accredited physical therapist programs. Of those,
203 are doctorate programs and nine are masters. However, starting in the year 2016, The Commission

It is predicted that by the year 2020, more than 40 million people in the world will have this
progressive neurological condition (Morris 579). This disease occurs when the nerve cells that create
dopamine are slowly destroyed. Without dopamine, the nerve cells in that part of the brain cannot
properly send messages and it leads to a loss of muscle function (Kantor 3). The goal of physical
therapy for people with Parkinson s Disease is to help them perform every day activities with the
disease. Walking is one of the most common difficulties people with Parkinson s Disease encounter,
and is one of the areas physical therapist spend a lot of time with. One way physical therapist help
their patients walk is by using visual cues. An example of a visual cue is white lines on the floor
spaced at step length. Another area of concern that a physical therapist would address is turning
around. An elderly person without Parkinson s Disease can do a 360 turn in fewer than six steps. A
person with Parkinson s Disease usually needs to take twenty steps. A physical therapist would
address this by training the person to concentrate in a larger arc of movement and to use a full body
movement (Morris).
According to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, there are more than 700,000
strokes every year, and about two thirds of these individuals survive and

Dualist View On Identity
Identity criteria are a main component of who a person actually is, central elements of how someone
sees who they are and essential properties are urged to determine a person s identity. How
philosophers view the soul is essential one s personality. The duelists believe that wherever the soul
goes, that s where the mind goes. The dualists view is based off of the fact that there is more to our
brain and ourselves than just the physical aspect, the soul strongly supports this claim. Materialism
argues against the duelists because they only believe in the physical component of the world, in their
eyes a soul does not exist. Lastly, in the psychological view, John Locke implemented memory into
personal identity. Leibniz and Reid challenged Locke s ideas and came up with a reasonable
conclusion. Personal identity can be defined is through identity theft, but it is the central elements of
how someone perceives themselves to determine who they actually are. One is that a single soul, one
and the same, has been with this body I call mine since it was born. The other is that one soul was
associated with it until five years ago and then another, psychologically similar, inheriting all the old
memories and beliefs, took over. A third hypothesis is that every five years a new soul takes over. A
fourth is that every five minutes a new soul takes over Weirob views souls by being able to move from
one body to the next without us knowing, the duelists strongly disagree with this theory.

DeGhett proposes that pictures should always be published so the viewers can get the full effect of what is happening in the world. DeGhett also proposes the idea that it s hard to calculate the consequences of a photographs absence (DeGhett Page 74). This statement leads to the idea of censorship causing the argument of whether certain media outlooks should be censored to the public or not. This draws a fine line on the topic of censorship because should the people not have the right to view the material or if they should be blocked. Personally, I think it should be up to the person to decide if he or she wants to look at unflattering images of celebrities or believe convoluted stories to make themselves feel better. On the other hand, some people might wish not to view certain media because they have ethical standards that don t need to be entertained with other people s lives. Coronary artery and heart disease happens when plaque builds up where damage occurs in the arteries due to smoking, high levels of fats and cholesterol in the blood, and inflammation in the blood vessels (National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, 2012). High blood pressure (Hypertension) is cause when the heart has to work harder to execute blood for the body and it also hardens the arteries which later develops heart failure. Several conditions will cause HBP or hypertension like smoking, overweight, lack of physical activity, high sodium diet or alcohol consumption, stress and family history. Diabetes occurs when the body does not have adequacy to produce any or enough insulin (triglyceride) causes elevated levels of glucose in the blood ( what is diabetes Google Search ). Many people second guessed how the Catholic Church was practicing religious teachings and this grew in Germany. After years of battling for religious reforms, a new religion was formed named Lutheranism. Between 1524 and 1526, German peasants began to revolt the Holy Roman Empire. The peasant revolts were caused by greed and wanting to get rid of serfdom and corrupt leaders in the Holy Roman Empire, and both positive and negative responses were seen. • 5. The Energy Power Of Natural Resources Essay Most of the energy to power our homes comes from fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and natural gas. Due to environmental concerns there has been a considerable drive to move away from these finite resources to renewable forms of energy. Harnessing the power of natural resources has seen significant developments over the past three decades. The use of solar energy to power our homes has, arguably, seen the most advancement. The sun is made up of helium and hydrogen atoms and emits radiant energy. Nuclear fusion is the process by which these elements are transformed. Nuclear fusion is, the combination of two small atomic nuclei to produce one larger nucleus (Hill, McCreary pg. 334). In the sun s core four hydrogen atoms combine to form one helium atom through nuclear fusion. However, the new helium atom has less mass than the beginning hydrogen atoms. The left over matter is not lost but transformed into radiant energy. The law of conservation of energy states, Energy cannot be created or destroyed, only transformed (Hill, McCreary pg. 444). The by product of this transformation of atoms is the left over radiant energy becomes solar energy here on Earth. So how do we channel the sun s radiant power into useable solar energy? Besides phagocytic internalization (by, e.g., macrophages, neutrophils, or dendritic cells), Salmonella infection is characterized by the bacterial induced uptake of the pathogen into non phagocytic enterocytes of intestinal epithelium (Perrett Zhou 2013). • 11. Financial Statements Of Cash Flow The statement of cash flow is one of the financial statements that shareholders tend to evaluate to ensure that all transactions are properly stated in each of the three activities mentioned above; operating, investing, and financing. The statement of cash flows is also commonly overlooked by both the balance sheets and income statements numbers. The cash flow statement is important for the business as it brings valuable information that can help evaluate a corporation. The statement will show if the business is low on money even if the financial statements shows that is profitable. It will reflect if the owner withdrew to much cash from the corporation. It will also reflect the principal payment of a loan and the correct amount used to acquire equipment, property, and other assets that the income statement will not show. The absence of this statement can hinder the operation of a business as the owner could easily fall in the negative (loss) by not having eyes on the cash out flow exceeding the cash inflow. First, he figures out that he needs some paper so he takes his 20 dollar bill and tries to burn it. Unfortunately, the bill just burns right out and leaves him with no fire. After that, he takes his hatchet and cuts small pieces of bark. Then he piles them up under twigs. Then he takes his hatchet and hits a rock with a great blow and sparks catch the bark on fire. He hits another blow and the sparks catch the twigs on fire. Therefore, he has a fire. This process shows that whatever Brian sets his mind to he can do it. These make achieving goals much easier, and in the end, it leads to success by completing the tasks needed to get towards the goal, whether that be obtaining food or conquering an entire continent. In Golding s Lord of the Flies, a lack of mutual respect between the leaders and followers as well as the failure to unite themselves to work together for the same goals, resulted in chaos, and ultimately, the division and failure of their society on the island. As a result of the Plague, from 1665 threw 1666 Newton had spent a great deal of time at home. During this time it seems evident that a great deal of his best work was accomplished. He thought out the fundamental principles of his theory of gravitation. He determined that every particle of matter attracts every other particle. Yet he suspected that the attraction varied depending on the product of their masses. He suspected that the force, which retained the moon in its orbit around the earth, was the same as the terrestrial gravity. And to prove this hypothesis he proceeded by doing this. He knew that if a stone wall were allowed to fall near the surface of the earth, the attraction of the earth caused the stone wall to move though sixteen feet in one second. The moon s orbit relative to the earth is nearly a circle, and as a rough approximation assuming so, he knew the distance of the moon, and therefore the length of its path. He also knew the time it took the moon to go around the earth once, a month. Therefore Newton could find its veloisty at any point such as M. Then he could find the distance MT through which it would move in the next second if it were not pulled by the earth s attraction. At the end of the second it was at ... • 28. The Significance Of Strategic Bombing Of Germany In this essay I will assess the significance of strategic bombing of Germany. I will do this by evaluating four key areas of the German war effort. This will include German and British moral, German economy, its effect on the outcome of the Eastern Front and the results of the preparation for D Day. Overall allied bombing did not have a significant impact on the outcome of the war as for the majority of the war bombing techniques and technology were primitive and so had little effect. It only became a threatening tool latter on in the war, when the allies had effectively won. One potentially significant area of impact caused by strategic bombing was its effect on German moral. However, because of the unreliability of bomber commands performance the Nazis managed to quickly control the situation. • 30. The Effectiveness Of A Connection The Effectiveness of a Connection in Relation to a Tragedy As art becomes more prevalent, intricate, and sophisticated in culture so does its impact on a viewer. A viewer must experience a work of art and connect to it in order for it to be considered effective. Ajax by Sophocles can be considered a work of art because of its ability to connect to an audience. Sophocles play follows a warrior named Ajax who was threatening to kill Odysseus to obtain the armor he believed was rightfully his, which causes the goddess Athena to cast a curse leaving him blind with rage and in a state where he slaughters hordes of animals believing that they are his enemies. Ajax later becomes distraught to the point of suicide. Bryan Doerries produced a version of Ajax to relate to veterans through his company, Theater of War. This company s specific purpose is to de stigmatize psychological injury, increase awareness of post deployment psychological health issues, disseminate information regarding available resources, and foster greater family community, and troop resilience through the performance of Ancient Greek plays to military and civilian communities (Outside the Wire). Because of this purpose, the audience is able to form an intense connection with Ajax and fulfill the purpose of art. While looking at Aristotle s Theory of Tragedy and the six most important features of a tragedy, it becomes apparent that connection through all six features is the only way to create effective art. ... • 32. Comparing Poems My Last Duchess And Porphyria s Lover TITLE Robert Browning s poems, My Last Duchess ( MLD ) and Porphyria s Lover ( PL ) take the form of dramatic monologues and are striking examples of literature written in the Victorian era. Due to their form, a great interaction is developed between the reader and narrator, with an additional oratory effect; this allows the audience to understand a situation less ambiguously through features such as tone. Therefore, Browning is able to present male and female characters more completely. Furthermore, the poems accurately convey gender inequality present in Victorian society, hinting at the lack of liberties given to women. In MLD, Browning employs the Duke as narrator, developing the reader s perception of his personality through use of language and literary devices. As a result, the Duke inadvertently portrays himself as egocentric, proprietorial and at times arrogant, psychotic and paranoid. He refers to the painting of his late wife as my last Duchess , with the possessive pronoun my indicating the Duchess is just another of his possessions. This element of the Duke s ... Consequently, the reliability of the narrator becomes questionable. This is amplified in MLD, where the Duke s proud nature possibly hinders the truth. In PL, Browning repetitively attempts to depict Porphyria s lover as innocent, while in reality the murder was manic and psychotic. As a result, uncertainty is created throughout PL, as such a narrator may be deceptive. So, the reader s perception of Porphyria s lover might be incorrect, especially during his period of euphoria when Porphyria appears to give herself up to him. • 36. Capitalist Theory Of Capitalism Capitalist structures were thought to be double hermeneutic by Weber. A double hermeneutic is a theory, expounded by sociologist Anthony Giddens, that everyday lay concepts and those from social sciences have a two way relationship. A common example is the idea of social class; a social scientific category that has perpetuated into wider use in society (WIKIPEDIA, 2017). These people were a group of religious scholars, who believed that the truth that is included within the text, is wider than the words on the page. Through these religious scholars and their beliefs eventually led to the evolution from a religious society to a capitalist society. The capitalist society that we live in today, created a market system used from religious beliefs, presenting the payments for sins committed by an individual in the future and for not confessing the sins committed in the present. Modern capitalism still refers to Weber s theory today, showing interest of how each individual has their own path chosen, depending on the amount of money they own, organising ourselves into different organisations as well as, the different societies we join within the hierarchy. Through the different societies of our day to day lives we see each of them joining together as one, expressing ideas and thoughts to create the markets systems we see in this century. People latched onto this idea which meant if you attacked that idea, you were attacking their religious beliefs. What these people did not take into consideration is that when the Bible was written times were different. When using historical accounts to develop ones beliefs you must take into consideration that life may not be the same as it was when the event occurred. In Bible times, every society was one hundred percent agrarian. This means when the Bible talks about men being responsible for all the work and providing for his family, it is referring to the physical labor that must go into producing food and running a farm. The Bible, for the most part, just divides the work of having a family based on individual strengths. Just like organisms evolve throughout time, resistance to certain things can also evolve. This resistance however is not something that happens naturally but rather is a man made process which was caused via the misuse, overuse, and/or underuse of antibiotics (Davies 2010). The author Davies explains that there is no better example of the Darwinian notions of selection and survival than the spread of antibiotic resistance and how the bacteria have evolved with traits that make them that way. The more people use antibiotics, especially when not necessary, the higher the chance of bacteria in the body growing resistant to those antibiotics. Major problems have arisen such as cells becoming resistant to antibiotics because its selection pressure is reduced or eliminated. This means that one must counteract this by continually increasing the antibiotic concentration in proportion to the increased resistance (Rosenthal and Elowitz 2012). To understand how bacteria became resistant to antibiotics, one must first understand the origin of antibiotics and its introduction into the body. Once these antibiotics were discovered and first started being used, it was not long after that that they regrettably were accompanied by the appearance of some resistant strains as well. The development of antibiotic resistance is persistent especially because ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Dualist View On Identity Identity criteria are a main component of who a person actually is, central elements of how someone sees who they are and essential properties are urged to determine a person s identity. How philosophers view the soul is essential one s personality. The duelists believe that wherever the soul goes, that s where the mind goes. The dualists view is based off of the fact that there is more to our brain and ourselves than just the physical aspect, the soul strongly supports this claim. Materialism argues against the duelists because they only believe in the physical component of the world, in their eyes a soul does not exist. Lastly, in the psychological view, John Locke implemented memory into personal identity. Leibniz and Reid challenged Locke s ideas and came up with a reasonable conclusion. Personal identity can be defined is through identity theft, but it is the central elements of how someone perceives themselves to determine who they actually are. One is that a single soul, one and the same, has been with this body I call mine since it was born. The other is that one soul was associated with it until five years ago and then another, psychologically similar, inheriting all the old memories and beliefs, took over. A third hypothesis is that every five years a new soul takes over. A fourth is that every five minutes a new soul takes over Weirob views souls by being able to move from one body to the next without us knowing, the duelists strongly disagree with this theory. ...
