Hanford High School Transcripts Analysis
Transcripts
In my high school career my grades have been of great importance to me both at Lemoore High
School and Hanford High School. My whole freshman year I was able to maintain a 4.0. My
sophomore year I did have a little bit of a downfall with my grades but I was put in home studies so
that I could solely focus on my schoolwork and once I was focused again I went back to Hanford
High. My junior year I came to LHS and my grades improved, I ended that year with 6 A s and 1 C.
As of right now I am ending my senior year with a 3.84 GPA which I am very satisfied with.
Overall I am proud of the grades I have kept throughout these four years and I will strive to
maintain a high academic standing as I further my education in college.

Reasons For Japanese Americans In Internment
In the morning of December 7th, 1941, a swarm of Japanese warplanes bombed the Pearl Harbor
in a surprise attack. As a result, 2,400 Americans were killed and over a thousand were wounded.
The Japanese destroyed over 200 American aircrafts and suck several battleships while only losing
under a hundred of their men (History.com). Following this attack, President Franklin D. Roosevelt
declared war on Japan, officially entering World War II. Fearing that the Japanese Americans would
turn on America and aid Japan, Roosevelt signed an executive order that forced all Japanese
Americans to evacuate the West Coast. Approximately 120,000 Japanese were relocated to
internment camps. Because of the safety of the country and the Japanese, I believe that the United
Statesgovernment was justified for interning Japanese Americans. First and foremost, placing
Japanese Americans in internment camps prevented them from spying and sabotaging the United
States. Americans feared that there might be Japanese spies among citizens, and their fear was
justifiable. After decoding Japanese cables in May 1941, we discovered that before the war, there
were already Japanese American spies monitoring the traffic across the American Mexican border
(Hawkins). This shows that spies among Japanese Americans were a definite threat to the safety of
America. If Japanese spies were let loose in the country during World War II, the results of the war
could have been significantly different. Furthermore, if

Saving the Bluefin Tuna Essay
The allusive bluefin tuna is one of the largest, fastest and highly sought after fish in the wild sea.
The Bluefin tuna can weigh over half a ton, grow to over four metres in length, and dive to depths
of 1,000 metres. They can reach speeds of 70 miles an hour and even raise their body temperature
far above that of the surrounding water in order to traverse arctic waters. They are among the most
ambitiously migratory of all fish, with some tagged bluefin being tracked swimming from North
American to European waters several times a year. The bluefin tunais unique, a perfectly adapted

Driven by such high prices, many fishermen, chefs and business owners depend on the bluefin tuna
industry for a way to support their lives. Respectively so, without sustainable fishing practices and
stricter regulations for the bluefin tuna, neither Japan, nor the rest of the world will even have the
choice on whether or not eating and fishing bluefin tuna should be an option (Crockett).
Although bluefin tuna does provide food and livelihoods for many people, they are more than just
seafood. The bluefin tuna is a top predator in the marine food chain, maintaining an important
balance in the ocean environment (Walsh). Author Brian Walsh writes,
[Scientist Amanda Nickson from The Pew Charitable Trusts] has recommended, echoed by many
other environmental groups and scientists, that the bluefin tuna fishery should be suspended, at
least until there s more effective management that might prevent the overfishing of the bluefin tuna
(Walsh).
In a recent assessment done by the International Scientific Committee for bluefin tuna, released in
January 2013, found that bluefin spawning stocks, the key measure of adults that can reproduce,
have plummeted by about three quarters over the past 15 years. It s estimated that the bluefin tuna
has dwindled to just 3.6 percent of its original population once found in the fifties. More than 90
percent of blue fin tuna being fished out from the sea today are juveniles between the ages of 0 and

The Shy Man In The Mixer
In the book The Mixer a man named the Shy man was a burglar! The Shy man was a clever man
because he bought a dog than he trained it so it will not bark when he hears scratch at the
window. I thought that he was very quiet because in the book he did not speak much to a cop.
The shy man s motivation for robbing a house was the dog backy because in the book the shy
man bought a dog for 30 cents. Than he sold Blacky to man who he fixed his dog so he could
sell his dog to him for about 12 cents because he was going to rob his house and he needs a dog

Abstract This paper presents a systematic method for deriving three port converters from the full
bridge converter by splitting two switching legs of full bridge converter into two cells with
different sources. The Full bridge TPC can be used across a wide source voltage range, and good
control over two of the three ports can be achieved while the third port provides the power balance
in the system. Moreover, the energy stored in the leakage inductance of the transformer can be
utilized to achieve zero voltage switching for all the primary side switches. Experimental results
verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the developed Full Bridge TPC. Index Terms FB TPC, dc

Renewable power systems, which are capable of harvesting energy from, for example, solar cells,
fuel cells, wind, and thermoelectric generators, are found in many applications such as hybrid
electric vehicles, satellites, traffic lights, and powering remote communication systems. Since the
output power of renewable sources is stochastic and the sources lack energy storage capabilities,
energy storage systems such as a battery or a super capacitor are required to improve the system

Strategies And Characteristics Of The Crowned Eagle In Africa
Everyone probably had a thought of being a specific animal for a period of time, perhaps at that
moment, she didn t want to be a human being. So she thought, A Crowned Eagle would be pretty
interesting. Not only does the name sound super cool and fascinating, but it is a large bird of prey,
in other words, it is the most powerful eagle. The Crowned Eagle won t have to have concerns
about getting eaten, and mostly food supply. Moreover, the Crowned Eagle could just enjoy life
without having to worry about most of the survival needs. Because the strategies and steps of how
the eagle hunts are fantastically amazing. It even has a partner to support on huntingthe fast
monkeys. Besides the efficient hunting ability, it also has a strong build up body. The Crowned
eagle has many firm body parts that will help it to survive, such as the body mass, the strong talons,
and the beak length. Additionally, the flying ability that the Crowned eagle is able to do is beyond
expectations. Being a Crowned Eagle is an interesting thought with combinations of strong hunting
skills, the powerful body structure, and the beauty of flying.
The Crowned eagle is the most powerful eagle in Africa, in other words, the Crowned eagle is

Stakeholder Analysis
The triple aim of PPACA to promote accessible, high quality and cost efficient care involves large
number of reforms that influence all the segments associated with healthcare industry. These
reforms are affecting various stakeholders such as hospitals, physicians, and patients to varying
degrees and therefore policymakers need to consider independent stakeholder priorities along with
the impact on society and cost involved in order to achieve this triple aim. The Affordable Care Act
introduces payment reforms for individual physicians and for larger, organized health care systems,
ranging from bundled payments to payment adjustments for hospital acquired conditions. Empirical
evidence shows that payment structures such as these can improve care delivery, costs, and quality

Essay on Biography of Samuel Adams
Biography of Samuel Adams Samuel Adams: From the National Statuary Hall Collection at the
U.S. Capitol
Among those who signed the Declaration of Independence, and were conspicuous in the revolution,
there existed, of course, a great diversity of intellectual endowments; nor did all render to their
country, in those perilous days, the same important services. Like the luminaries of heavens each
contributed his portion of influence; but, like them, they differed, as star differeth from star in
glory. But in the constellation of great men, which adorned that era, few shone with more brilliancy,
or exercised a more powerful influence than Samuel Adams.

In 1763 it was announced, that the British ministry had it in view to tax the colonies, for the
purpose of raising a revenue, which was to be placed at the disposal of the crown. This news filled
the colonies with alarm. In Massachusetts, a committee was appointed by the people of Boston to
express the public sentiment in relation to this contemplated measure, for the guidance of the
representatives to the general court. The instructions of this committee were drawn by Mr. Adams.
They formed, in truth, a powerful remonstrance against the injustice of the contemplated system of
taxation; and they merit the more particular notice, as they were the first recorded public document,
which denied the right of taxation to the British parliament. They also contained the first suggestion
of the propriety of that mutual understanding and correspondence among the colonies, which laid
the foundation of their future confederacy. Ill these instructions, after alluding to the evils which
had resulted from the acts of the British parliament, relating to trade, Mr. Adams observes: If our
trade may be taxed, why not our lands? Why not the produce of our lands, and every thing we
possess, or use? This we conceive annihilates our charter rights to govern and tax ourselves. It
strikes at our British privileges, which, as we have never

Louisiana Is A Place Of Beautiful Wildlife And Landscape
Louisiana is a place of beautiful wildlife and landscape. With about forty percent of the state being
marshes and wetlands. It is very important for us to preserve these wetlands and keep them from
disappearing like they have been for the past fifty years. Almost eighty percent of wetland loss in
the nation has happened in Louisiana. Just in the past ten years the state has seen a thirty percent
deduction in the wetlands. The bad thing about these wetlands disappearing is that they are just
being converted into open water. While other wetlands in other states are being used for many
things. The destruction of these wetlands in the coast of Louisiana can be prevented by funding
restoration acts and stopping pollution.
If this rate of Louisiana s wetlands being lost, the state will lose another fifteen percent by the year
2050. With these numbers being said, Mark stated Louisiana s coastline has been losing wetlands
at a rate of 16.57 square miles a year during the past 25 years, equal to the loss of a football field of
coast every hour, according to a study released today by the U.S. Geologicial Survey (Mark). This
loss of wetlands is five square miles a year faster than a study showed between 1985 and 2004.
The explanation for these outrageous numbers are the amount of pollution and hurricanes that hit
Louisiana almost every year. Due to devastating hurricanes such as Katrina, Rita, Gustav and Ike.
With all these hurricanes, Louisiana has almost lost about 1,883 square

Bruce Tuckman s Stages Of Team Development
Grow your Team With Team Development Techniques
The team development model of:
Forming Storming Norming Performing was proposed in 1965 by American psychologist Bruce
Tuckman.
The Forming Storming Norming Performing model describes a set of stages in training that a group
must go through in order to be able to achieve maximum potential.
As the name implies, the Forming Storming Norming Performing model show the four ordered
stages a team must go through before they become like a well oiled machine.
Forming
The first stage of training, forming, is when the team is just getting to know each other. Each has
his or her own ideas, which are usually independent of the other. There is minimum cooperation and
integration of ideas. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This stage is when the concept of Forming Storming Norming Performing is introduced to the team.
Storming
This is the stage where the concepts of each member come together for the first time. This is where
members of the team experience their ideas being criticized, improved, and commented on by their
colleagues.
Storming not only refers to the concept of brainstorming , but also to the stormy stage of team
development.
Some immature members will not appreciate their ideas being criticized, and their behavior might
serve as a deterrent for the team to move on to the next stage of thier development.
It s up to the supervisor or team leader to decide how to deal with this kind of attitude.
Norming
Once the stormy phase is over the team reaches the stage where they start to work together
collectively. They re more familiar with each other s attitudes, work ethics, and tastes in terms of
ideas and work output.
What you should look out for in this phase, is the tendency for team members to completely lose
their individual tastes and ideas, and slowly become accustomed to agreeing with each other all the

Anselm s Ontological Argument Analysis
In the Proslogion written by Anselm of Canterbury, Anselm gives his ontological argument of how
God exists. This essay explains that Anselm s argument of God s existence works. In particular, I
will show that Anselm s ontological argument makes sense by showing that the statements that
logically contribute to the existenceof God. In Anselm s ontological argument, he states that God
means something than which greater can be thought. In other words, God is whatever it is better to
be than not to be (Anselm, Proslogion, 9). This means that God is the greatest thing that can be
conceived. For if God did not exist, then something greater than God would exist. Nevertheless,
nothing is better than God can be thought, therefore, saying if God did not exist, that something
greater than God would exist. contradictions that God is the greatest thing that can be thought.
Which helps conclude that God must exist because nothing is greater than God. The ontological
argument of Anselm also includes how the idea of God exists in the mind even of the person who
denies that God exists in reality. This means that someone who doubts the existence of Godat least
knows what God is the greatest thing that can be conceived. Another premise of Anselm is that
something that exists in reality, is better than something that only exists in... Show more content on

Hubris In Oedipus And Antigone
Pride has been known to cause many issues for those who exhibit the trait. From those of high
power and influence to those with little power, pride shows no bias for those that fall victim to this
quality. Excessive pride, also known as hubris, is a fatal characteristic to have and has been
illustrated throughout history and in literature, causing tragedy with it s path of turmoil. The
human condition of hubris is illuminated by Sophocles in his plays, Oedipus and Antigone.
Sophocles presents ideas fo the impact of hubris, such as hubris creating a god complex, creating
blindness, and making people uncompromising. These same ideologies are seen in modern day
society. Current events present many parallels to Oedipus and Antigone, and demonstrate... Show

A person that demonstrates this effect is Oedipus. In Oedipus, he illustrates his blindness when
he said, It does/but not for you, old man. You ve lost your power,/stone blind, stone deaf senses,
eyes blind as stone! (422 424, Oedipus). In the quote, Oedipus portrays not only his blindness,
but his denial as well. The use of irony is used to emphasize his blindness. Tiresias, though he is
blind, can see what Oedipus cannot. Even with Tiresias s efforts, he still fails to make Oedipus
accept his truth. Whenever Tiresias puts the effort to convince Oedipus, he only returns the
efforts with insults. These actions only further prove his oblivion. Someone whose responses
were comparable and similar to Oedipus s, was Selena Gomez. A modern day example of hubris
causing blindness, Gomez is following a similar path to Oedipus. She has received backlash for
working with director, Woody Allen. Gomez working with Allen was seen as hypocritical with
her work as the producer for the television show, 13 Reasons Why, which reflects the tragic
damages of sexual assault and rape. She is seen as a hypocrite because Woody Allen had been
accused of raping his step daughter when she was just seven years old. Many people, including her
mother, have tried to explain the issues and repercussions of working with someone with a history
of sexual assault and what it supports. Gomez has disregarded all of these warnings and has

The Two Different of Nursing Theory Tam Nguyen The Christ College of Nursing and Health
Sciences English Composition Ms. Ryan April 29, 2015 Some people ask what is nursing and
what do nurses do? Nurses follow the nursing process to treat patient and they often use different
theories to guide them. According to Peplau s Theory of Nursing, she believe that nurses must
clearly understand the purpose of nursing to promote their client s growth, and nurse patient
interact. The role of nursing is to help others identify their health problems and nurses should
apply the principles of nurse patient relations to the problems that emphasize all levels of
experience. Watson s Theory defined nursing as the principle of nursing that can lead to the
practice of loving kindness between the one who is caring and the one who is being cared for,
especially the caring activities performed by nurses as they interact with others. Although Peplau
and Watson s theory both desire interacting and caring for others, Watson s theory is typically
reflective of an excellent in human and heart centered. Not only is it a relationship of caring for
the self and others based on a foundation of love and values, but also it is a caring moment to
moment between the nurses and others. In Peplau s theory, I believe that nurse patient relationships
provide an opportunity for the nurse to identify himself or herself by name, professional status and
the purpose in relation to the patient. For

The Prevalence Of Homelessness And Homelessness
The Prevalence of Homelessness
In this textual analysis, I m going to discuss the prevalence of homelessness in the United States. I
ll be using three songs from popular culture that focus on homelessness. Different artists perform
these three songs: Avril Lavigne, Bob Dylan, and Nirvana. I m going to address the values that
people who are homeless may have, according to what each artist conveys through their song lyrics.
Throughout the lyrics in each song, it seems like the artists are attempting to communicate to the
public that homelessness is a serious issue that nobody is immune to. The values that I have
gathered are bravery, hope, and perseverance.
I have chosen this topic because over half a million people are homeless, the government has
limited resources to help those who are homeless, and some cities are making homelessness illegal.
This topic is important to me because nobody is immune to homelessness, which is terrifying and
unfortunate. This topic should be important to others because homelessness is a serious problem
and it seems like we tend to treat people who are homeless like they re not human beings.
Some people think that if a person who s homeless wants to truly change their situation, they
would simply get a job. There s clothing assistance available for people who are homeless; having
access to a resource like this can help people who are homeless by providing them with appropriate
clothing for job interviews. Approximately 44% of people who are

I saw a male White, later identified as Suspect Marcus David Urena in the seating area of the
Fillmore Metro Station. I immediately recognized Urena from prior police contacts in the field. I
conducted a records check on Urena, through my patrol unit s (#52) computer and learned that he
had an outstanding warrant for his arrest (see attached printout).
I contacted Urena at the above location and advised him of the outstanding warrant. Urena admitted
that he had two glass pipes in his backpack. I handcuffed and arrested Urena for the outstanding
warrant. The handcuffs were double locked.
Incident to arrest, I searched Urena s backpack and found a small black case inside of it. I opened
the black case and found a plastic baggie which contained a crystal substance. I also found two
glass pipes inside of the black container.
Based on my training and experience, I recognized the crystal substance to be crystal
methamphetamine. The glass pipes are commonly used to smoke crystal methamphetamine. I
collected the crystal methamphetamine and glass pipes as evidence. I took photos of the above
evidence (see attached photos). It should be noted that Urena was not under the influence of a

The Boxer Rebellion In China From 1898-1900
The Boxer Rebellion in China took place roughly from 1898 to 1900 and is known for being an anti
foreign and anti Christian movement. China s Qing regime, also found itself at odds with the
Boxer movement due to their weak control and susceptibility to foreign influence. 1 The insurgency
that erupted throughout parts of the country focused on these three main components, however
these were not their fundamental concerns. Climate variables within lower north and east China,
such as drought and flooding, were the underlying complications for the uprising. The climate
factor, known as a powerful catalyst to the Boxer uprising, is precisely the true cause of the event.
Government records, first hand accounts, and dendrochronology show climate s implications on the
Chinese population at the time and should be acknowledged as the primary origin of the Boxer.
In the 1890 s, throughout the provinces near Beijing and Tianjin, many militant groups began
appearing, uniquely priding themselves in their marital arts training and abilities. Named the
Boxers by the West due to their trainings, the
Spirit Boxers, Red Lanterns, and Big Sword Society (to name a few) had a goal to intensify their
bodies to be able to withstand physical blows and eventually even bullets. 2 The Boxer s true
beginning coincides with the political events that took place following the Juye Incident in
November 1879. A gang of men in Juye killed two German missionaries, leading the German
government to negotiating

Vampire Existence
Vampire existence
Almost each nation has legends about vampires that rummage people at night and drink their
blood. In these legends, vampires are brutal, heartless, half decayed creatures. For example, Slavic
mythology has a belief that a vampire won t get out of grave if you throw some corn inside. The
vampire will count corns all night long. But the image of a vampire has changed. Today it is an
mysterious sexy superstar that kept its peculiar traits: love of blood, hate for garlic, and fear for
the sun. In the Middle Ages the legend about vampires was complemented with the information
that they fear cross and Holy Water. I feel the same way; it makes people feel like there some
things as vampires but maybe there really are. I meant ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Don t try to take this stuff so literally, and do not judge these individuals too unforgivingly. I m
sure that there are several things that you believe to be true in the world, or even about yourself,
that these individuals would see as abnormal or strange. Believe it or not, there are individuals who
walk among us, who appear to be normal human beings and are actually are not. If medical science
can identify genes within the human race as mutations, and therefore, the people who have them as
mutations, or mutants, then why can t a subculture of otherwise healthy people call themselves
vampires.
According to an Indian lady Issabella, she said that practically every culture in the world has
some sort of ancient story about a blood sucking creature that relates to the vampire. India is no
exception. In fact, Indian mythology has several creatures that could easily be considered vampiric
in relation to the modern view of the vampire. Some match our modern description better than
others, but all play a role in vampire mythology. A malevolent female spirit called the Chedipe rode
naked into homes on the backs of tigers and drank men s blood through their toes while they slept.
This is indeed vampiric behavior, but the resulting effects have the man drained of energy rather
than killed or transformed. This behavior is much more closely associated with the Western
Succubus, than with the

Battle Of Kosovo Essay
The Battle of Kosovo created a myth that added to Serbian nationalism in three major ways.
First, it became part of the calendar of the nation. Not only did June 28 mark the battle of
Kosovo, but also the day that the Bosnian Serb student, Gavrilo Princip, assassinated Archduke
Franz Ferdinand beginning WWI. This date was and is indispensible in Serbian culture and
identity. Second, it created a claim to Kosovo by establishing the idea that Kosovo was a key
part of the medieval Serbian kingdom. By drawing a linkage to Kosovo before the Ottoman
conquest the Serbs were able to make a case that they were the rightful inheritors of the region.
Third, it drew a connection between contemporary Serbia and the Serbs of the Middle Ages
through linkages between common religion and a common struggle against an ostensibly
oppressive force (Bieber 2002: 96). The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The allies thought that Serbia deserved to be rewarded. The U.S, British, and French governments
all officially recognized Serbian valor during the ward, and the Battle of Kosovo became the subject
of many sermons throughout the world as a valiant effort to defend Christianity (Vickers 1998: 97).
WWI activated, mobilized, and politicized a Serbian notion of identity that would plant the seeds
for future conflict (Harzl 2011: 56). WWI further consolidated the imagery of Serbians as victims,
an imagery that would undergird the discourse of intellectuals in the late twentieth century. Serbia
staggering amount of human loss particularly in Kosovo placed them well to argue that they
needed the region to reestablish their cultural identity. National identity does not just have positive
components, but needs negative moments and history that deprives that identity of something that
is required for its full establishment. This was the backdrop for future arguments made by the
Serbian elite and intellectuals to push for Serbian control over Kosovo (Shigeno 2004:

The Formulation Of Public Policy
Sherri Torjman seems not to answer her own question, What is Policy as she skirts articulating
any concrete definition of policy as she attempts to explain what it is. She attempts to succinctly
describe policy, stating, At the end of the day, the formulation of public policy involves a process
of making good decisions for the public good (2005, p. 18) but this is a description of how policyis
made and fails to define policy. Levison and Sutton (2001) also define policy as a verb by
equating policy as a practice of power (p. 2). This definition implies that policymakers are
powerful when in there have been times in our history that marginalized groups of people
acquired more power as a result of policy. Groups such as the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and
transgendered community (or communities, depending on your perspective), could hardly be
described as powerful yet they are moving public perception and policy initiatives in new
directions with rapidity politicians either envy or decry. Levison and Sutton (2001) state that
policy is a fluid and negotiated (Levison Sutton, 2001, p. 3) means to govern (p. 3) diverse
people and their values; it is a tug of war contrasting , values, desires, wants, and needs. Yet this
description of what policy is remains insufficient; policy is not just a means to govern. Means or
methods to govern implies lots of things besides or in addition to policy: with a big stick, by

Comparing Kafka s Metamorphosis And Siddhartha
Often times when trying to find a simple way to depict our existence, we come across such
sayings as the river of life or the path of life. These are not accurate depictions, however, due to
the fact that we are not on a set course to a set destination. Rather, we roam about existence like
sheep in a pasture with no specific destination or means of arriving there. In many books such as
The Metamorphosisby Franz Kafka and Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse, the main character s very
identity is shaped by the choices of their past, but that is not who they have to be. The choices of
Gregor Samsa from The Metamorphosis lead to extreme life changing and identity changing

Siddhartha represents all of humanity, in that he is many things, yet he is himself. He is a
Brahmin, a Samana, a ferryman, and he is Siddhartha still in all these things. Unlike Gregor,
Siddhartha is very active in his quest for destiny. His choice to leave his father and all he had ever
known is not influenced by any force other than the thirst for knowledge sending him on the quest
for the meaning of life. Just as a sheep wanders in a pasture, Siddhartha wandered the wilderness
in pursuit of his true self. He searched his soul to find his place in the world and the unity of all.
He examined how his Self responded to hunger, pain, and all achings of the physical in order to
reveal the strength of the spiritual. When Siddhartha entered into the world of ordinary people, he
fed his physical being and through that discovered the weakness of his spiritual. Siddhartha finally
quenched his thirst for knowledge at the river, where he found wisdom. Siddhartha knew who he
was and at the river, he discovered why he had to go on the path that he did, and he found peace
and discovered how he fit into the universe along with all other things. Siddhartha s identity at that
point had little to nothing to do with who he had been. Yes, he was once a Samana, a Brahmin, a
ferryman, but what mattered was that he was now at

food remains a necessity all living creatures must have. Thanks to modern technology and
advancements in all fields of agricultural business (agri business), the availability of foodhas

Those people who live in these conditions can have better diets and live healthier because of agri
business. The transformation from traditional farming to agri business became rapidly accepted
by all types of farmers because of the mass benefits agri business provides. Berry noticed this
transformation by stating, This transformation occurred with astonishing speed because, by the
measures it set for itself, it was wonderfully successful. It saved labor (Berry, 2005, para. 4). This
transformation increased the speed of farms. This means the increased speed also decreased the
work effort; which allows farmers to do twice as much work without increasing the effort. The
transition from traditional farming to agri business has increased the production load to where agri
business can support the needs of the world.
Agri business fulfills the needs of the world. Farmers can mass produce their products in a timely
manner, granting them the ability to provide food for the world. With every year, agri business
grows to keep up with the demand. Berry stated; [T]he tractor would stay and the mules would go.

Proximity also mattered because it reduced shipping costs and lags, and because poorer
neighbors sometimes benefited from trade concessions. While China became an export
powerhouse across the board, greater regionalization was the dominant motif of changes in the
apparel trade in the 1990s. Turkey, North Africa, and sundry Eastern European countries emerged
as major suppliers to the European Union; Mexico and the Caribbean Basin as major suppliers to
the United States; and China as the dominant supplier to Japan (where there were no quotas to
restrict imports).3 World trade in apparel and textiles continued to be regulated by the Multi Fiber

States, Canada, and Western Europe) since 1974. Two decades later, agreement was reached to
phase out the MFA s quota system by 2005, and to further reduce tariffs (which averaged 7% to

Correlation Between Weber s Law And Visual Perception
Abstract The purpose of this study was to measure and record the just noticeable difference
(or JND) thresholds of random participants using their visual based perception and to replicate
and confirm Weber s Law. Through this four level single factor experiment, these participants
were asked to compare two lines which were flashed to them on a computer screen. Their
objective at that point was to choose which line was longer of the two that were shown, and this
was repeated 160 times at four different levels of line sizes: one inch, two inch, three inch, and
four inch with each level having 40 trials. Once the JND values were obtained, they were then
statistically analyzed and evaluated in terms of whether or not they were consistent with Weber s
Law. Collection along with the analysis of the data were all done on the University of California,
Irvine campus inside the Social Science Laboratory. Based on the results, we can conclude there is
a relationship between Weber s Law and visual perception, but this may not always be true.
During the 19th century, popular experimental based psychologist named Ernst Weber developed a
theory on human perception, proclaiming that for a difference to be perceived in two stimuli, they
must differ by a certain minimum value, or in other words, a just noticeable difference, also known
as difference limen or difference threshold. His contributions to the subject of psychophysics led to
his theory being named Weber s Law. This law

The Common Long Term Complications Of Diabetes Mellitus
One of the most common long term complications of diabetes mellitus is painful neuropathy.
Diabetic neuropathy is estimated to affect about 60 70% of all diabetes patients and can lead to
foot ulcers, amputations, and decreased quality of life. The most common form is chronic
peripheral neuropathy which results in painand numbness in the extremities, usually described as a
burning, tingling, or steady aching pain.1 Patients may also feel increased sensitivity to pain or
experience paresthesia, a sensation of tingling, tickling, or prickling of the skin.1 According to
current guidelines, intensive glycemic control is very important for the prevention and reduction of
peripheral neuropathyand other microvascular complications.1,2 Medications used to help relieve
nerve pain include duloxetine and pregabalin (LyricaВ®), which are both approved by the U.S.
Food and Drug Administration for use in diabetic neuropathy. Other drug classes commonly used
are antidepressants, anticonvulsants, and opioids.3 Although there are many medications used for
this condition, pain relief is often insufficient for patients. Treatment is difficult due to the
complicated pathophysiology of pain transmission and the wide range of mechanisms of action of
drugs used to treat pain. Therefore, there is a continued need for additional medication options for
this chronic painful condition. Lacosamide is an anticonvulsant approved for use as monotherapy
or adjunctive therapy for partial onset seizures.

Seahorse Description
The vibrant colors of underwater fish and othercolorful sea elements enhance the beauty of sea
environments. There are more than 30 different kinds of seahorses. Their charming formbeauty and
beautyforms make them an inspiring subject yet challenging to paint. One of favorite habitat of
seahorses is seagrass. For my first project, a yellowish brown seahorse against a blue underwater
background comes to my mind. I want to add colorful seagrass alongside the seahorse rather than
plain green seagrass. The goal is to capture the texture and rhythm of the underwater environment.
Palette : ultramarine blue, thalo blue, thalo green, magenta, new gamboge, quinacridone gold,
indigo, burnt sienna, purple, opaque white

I mask out the seahorse to protect it from the wet wash of seagrass and the second wash of the
underwater background. I apply the masking fluid to the seahorse thickly and carefully as I
would paint it. While the masking fluid dries, I prepare a pool of ultramarine, thalo blue, thalo
green, new gamboge, quinacridone gold, magenta and indigo. I wet each seagrass with clean
water and then mingle two or three colors I prepare. I drop one color after another and allow them
to blend together. I repeat the process for the other seagrass, changing colors as I work. To add an
interesting texture, I lift out some wet colors with a face tissue. I let the washes dry.
4. I decide to mask all seagrass before applying the second wash of the underwater background.
Using a 2 wash brush, I wet the entire paper again carefully, trying not to disturb the initial wash.
I apply new gamboge first at the left side and bottom corner, then move into other water areas. I
continue dropping in thalo blue and ultramarine blue wet in wet. For areas where the main
elements are overlapped, I drop in thick and dark indigo to make them stand out more. Before the
wash dries, I add more salt and rubbing alcohol to the left side of the

Comparing Let America Be America Again And I Hear America...
In the poems Let American be America Again and I hear America Singing they are both dreams,
but for different reasons. In I hear America singing Walt Whitman portrays America in an
amazing light making people want to go this dream like utopian country. In Let America be
America Again it portrays America as a land of false dreams and wants it to be the dream it
hoped it be. It also tells of the corrupt, dark, crooked side of America. It also mentions how it
should never have been like this. Now in I hear America singing it shows the pure, lively, and
beautiful side of America. Both are dreams but they are dreams for different reasons. In Langston
Hughes Let America be America again America was a dream for everyone. The dream, however,

  • 2. Hanford High School Transcripts Analysis Transcripts In my high school career my grades have been of great importance to me both at Lemoore High School and Hanford High School. My whole freshman year I was able to maintain a 4.0. My sophomore year I did have a little bit of a downfall with my grades but I was put in home studies so that I could solely focus on my schoolwork and once I was focused again I went back to Hanford High. My junior year I came to LHS and my grades improved, I ended that year with 6 A s and 1 C. As of right now I am ending my senior year with a 3.84 GPA which I am very satisfied with. Overall I am proud of the grades I have kept throughout these four years and I will strive to maintain a high academic standing as I further my education in college. Attendance ... • 3. Reasons For Japanese Americans In Internment In the morning of December 7th, 1941, a swarm of Japanese warplanes bombed the Pearl Harbor in a surprise attack. As a result, 2,400 Americans were killed and over a thousand were wounded. The Japanese destroyed over 200 American aircrafts and suck several battleships while only losing under a hundred of their men (History.com). Following this attack, President Franklin D. Roosevelt declared war on Japan, officially entering World War II. Fearing that the Japanese Americans would turn on America and aid Japan, Roosevelt signed an executive order that forced all Japanese Americans to evacuate the West Coast. Approximately 120,000 Japanese were relocated to internment camps. Because of the safety of the country and the Japanese, I believe that the United Statesgovernment was justified for interning Japanese Americans. First and foremost, placing Japanese Americans in internment camps prevented them from spying and sabotaging the United States. Americans feared that there might be Japanese spies among citizens, and their fear was justifiable. After decoding Japanese cables in May 1941, we discovered that before the war, there were already Japanese American spies monitoring the traffic across the American Mexican border (Hawkins). This shows that spies among Japanese Americans were a definite threat to the safety of America. If Japanese spies were let loose in the country during World War II, the results of the war could have been significantly different. Furthermore, if ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Saving the Bluefin Tuna Essay The allusive bluefin tuna is one of the largest, fastest and highly sought after fish in the wild sea. The Bluefin tuna can weigh over half a ton, grow to over four metres in length, and dive to depths of 1,000 metres. They can reach speeds of 70 miles an hour and even raise their body temperature far above that of the surrounding water in order to traverse arctic waters. They are among the most ambitiously migratory of all fish, with some tagged bluefin being tracked swimming from North American to European waters several times a year. The bluefin tunais unique, a perfectly adapted products of evolution. They are also dangerously close to becoming extinct (Brown). Today, the bluefin tuna has been fished out by 97 percent from pre fishing... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Driven by such high prices, many fishermen, chefs and business owners depend on the bluefin tuna industry for a way to support their lives. Respectively so, without sustainable fishing practices and stricter regulations for the bluefin tuna, neither Japan, nor the rest of the world will even have the choice on whether or not eating and fishing bluefin tuna should be an option (Crockett). Although bluefin tuna does provide food and livelihoods for many people, they are more than just seafood. The bluefin tuna is a top predator in the marine food chain, maintaining an important balance in the ocean environment (Walsh). Author Brian Walsh writes, [Scientist Amanda Nickson from The Pew Charitable Trusts] has recommended, echoed by many other environmental groups and scientists, that the bluefin tuna fishery should be suspended, at least until there s more effective management that might prevent the overfishing of the bluefin tuna (Walsh). In a recent assessment done by the International Scientific Committee for bluefin tuna, released in January 2013, found that bluefin spawning stocks, the key measure of adults that can reproduce, have plummeted by about three quarters over the past 15 years. It s estimated that the bluefin tuna has dwindled to just 3.6 percent of its original population once found in the fifties. More than 90 percent of blue fin tuna being fished out from the sea today are juveniles between the ages of 0 and 3. (Walsh) The major problem with juvenile ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Prof. , Kasi Reddy Narayan Reddy College of Engineering and Research Abstract This paper presents a systematic method for deriving three port converters from the full bridge converter by splitting two switching legs of full bridge converter into two cells with different sources. The Full bridge TPC can be used across a wide source voltage range, and good control over two of the three ports can be achieved while the third port provides the power balance in the system. Moreover, the energy stored in the leakage inductance of the transformer can be utilized to achieve zero voltage switching for all the primary side switches. Experimental results verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the developed Full Bridge TPC. Index Terms FB TPC, dc grid, full bridge three level (FBTL), PV System I. INTRODUCTION Renewable power systems, which are capable of harvesting energy from, for example, solar cells, fuel cells, wind, and thermoelectric generators, are found in many applications such as hybrid electric vehicles, satellites, traffic lights, and powering remote communication systems. This essay explains that Anselm s argument of God s existence works. In particular, I will show that Anselm s ontological argument makes sense by showing that the statements that logically contribute to the existenceof God. In Anselm s ontological argument, he states that God means something than which greater can be thought. In other words, God is whatever it is better to be than not to be (Anselm, Proslogion, 9). This means that God is the greatest thing that can be conceived. For if God did not exist, then something greater than God would exist. Nevertheless, nothing is better than God can be thought, therefore, saying if God did not exist, that something greater than God would exist. contradictions that God is the greatest thing that can be thought. The ontological argument of Anselm also includes how the idea of God exists in the mind even of the person who denies that God exists in reality. If medical science can identify genes within the human race as mutations, and therefore, the people who have them as mutations, or mutants, then why can t a subculture of otherwise healthy people call themselves vampires. According to an Indian lady Issabella, she said that practically every culture in the world has some sort of ancient story about a blood sucking creature that relates to the vampire. India is no exception. In fact, Indian mythology has several creatures that could easily be considered vampiric in relation to the modern view of the vampire. Some match our modern description better than others, but all play a role in vampire mythology. A malevolent female spirit called the Chedipe rode naked into homes on the backs of tigers and drank men s blood through their toes while they slept. Not only did June 28 mark the battle of Kosovo, but also the day that the Bosnian Serb student, Gavrilo Princip, assassinated Archduke Franz Ferdinand beginning WWI. This date was and is indispensible in Serbian culture and identity. Second, it created a claim to Kosovo by establishing the idea that Kosovo was a key part of the medieval Serbian kingdom. By drawing a linkage to Kosovo before the Ottoman conquest the Serbs were able to make a case that they were the rightful inheritors of the region. Third, it drew a connection between contemporary Serbia and the Serbs of the Middle Ages through linkages between common religion and a common struggle against an ostensibly oppressive force (Bieber 2002: 96). WWI activated, mobilized, and politicized a Serbian notion of identity that would plant the seeds for future conflict (Harzl 2011: 56). WWI further consolidated the imagery of Serbians as victims, an imagery that would undergird the discourse of intellectuals in the late twentieth century. She attempts to succinctly describe policy, stating, At the end of the day, the formulation of public policy involves a process of making good decisions for the public good (2005, p. 18) but this is a description of how policyis made and fails to define policy. Levison and Sutton (2001) also define policy as a verb by equating policy as a practice of power (p. 2). This definition implies that policymakers are powerful when in there have been times in our history that marginalized groups of people acquired more power as a result of policy. Groups such as the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered community (or communities, depending on your perspective), could hardly be described as powerful yet they are moving public perception and policy initiatives in new directions with rapidity politicians either envy or decry. He examined how his Self responded to hunger, pain, and all achings of the physical in order to reveal the strength of the spiritual. When Siddhartha entered into the world of ordinary people, he fed his physical being and through that discovered the weakness of his spiritual. Correlation Between Weber s Law And Visual Perception Abstract The purpose of this study was to measure and record the just noticeable difference (or JND) thresholds of random participants using their visual based perception and to replicate and confirm Weber s Law. Through this four level single factor experiment, these participants were asked to compare two lines which were flashed to them on a computer screen. Their objective at that point was to choose which line was longer of the two that were shown, and this was repeated 160 times at four different levels of line sizes: one inch, two inch, three inch, and four inch with each level having 40 trials. Once the JND values were obtained, they were then statistically analyzed and evaluated in terms of whether or not they were consistent with Weber s Law. Collection along with the analysis of the data were all done on the University of California, Irvine campus inside the Social Science Laboratory. Based on the results, we can conclude there is a relationship between Weber s Law and visual perception, but this may not always be true. During the 19th century, popular experimental based psychologist named Ernst Weber developed a theory on human perception, proclaiming that for a difference to be perceived in two stimuli, they must differ by a certain minimum value, or in other words, a just noticeable difference, also known as difference limen or difference threshold.
