Plume Conduits Essay
Additionally, lower mantle plume conduits rooted in wide patches of strongly negative velocity
reduction were found in Hawaii, Iceland and Samoa (p. 96). Figure four of Frenchs research revealed
that eleven major hotspots possessed plumes with notably similar characteristics. Visual inspection of
these similar plume conduits indicate that they may derive from very broad, lower mantle domes (p.
97). Nonetheless, French notes that there are corresponding plumes that are below the detection ability
of current imaging technology, making it difficult to make any concrete assumptions (p. 97).
Ultimately though, French s observation of seismic imaging of different geographic locations, he was
able to confirm the presence of broad plume like ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I think that this simply speaks to God s divine intelligence and the mystery of His creation. Despite all
the current science and technology that mankind has developed, there are still so many questions that
we are unable to answer with certainty.
Nonetheless, I think that French made a genuine effort to thoroughly explore the mystery of volcanic
hotspots and their sources. He began with a well supported hypothesis, but admitted that it was
controversial and did not claim its absolute validity from the beginning. Instead, French set out to
study the phenomenon on his own accord. Additionally, even after the models he included in his
research, displayed evidence that would likely support his original hypothesis, he acknowledged the
fact that even these variables do not provide conclusive answers concerning volcanic hotspots. For
instance, the whole mantle seismic imaging techniques that he implemented in his research
demonstrated that many hotspots share the common attribute of being near broad plume like conduits,
however, he mentioned that these conduits cannot be undoubtedly labeled as the source of the hotspots
until further knowledge is obtained. An issue that I ran into early on into the reading was the problem
of comprehending some of the vocabulary terms used in French s research. Some of the terms, such as
seismic imagery, mantle plumes, and obviously volcanoes, were words that I had either learned from
my textbook reading and the

Why are personal experiences influence to a person s thoughts and how does it impact on his or her
future jobs both directly and indirectly? Lingiardi, Tanzilli and Colli (2015) mentioned that an advisor
s enthusiastic reaction to a patient can be seen as a wellspring of profitable symptomatic and helpful
data, which means the emotional response of a therapist is very important to the patients and the
patients would further absorb it or abstain from the therapy. In addition, it is important to find out

it is important to develop a professional philosophy statement which would reflect my roles and
especially the relationship with clients. Under those circumstances, having a positive mind would be

Elements Of Christianity And Moganism In Beowulf
Beowulf, an Anglo Saxon literary work, encompasses elements of both Christianity and paganism.
Originally a polytheist group, the Anglo Saxons began to embrace monotheism after learning about
Christianity. Although they embraced monotheism, elements of paganism and polytheism still lingered
in their society as they tried to adapt to their new belief. A combination of Christianity and paganism
in Beowulf is the result of the unknown poet s view of the change in beliefs in Anglo Saxon society.
Regarding the poet, Mr. H. L. Rogers states, The past fascinated him, but his faith told him that God
ruled over the race of men in those days, as He still does (22). Many think that Beowulf is a pagan
poem because of its references to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Satan, an outcast also, can never approach God s throne room either. Only someone who is worthy and
righteous can approach the throne room; and because of their actions, Satan and Grendel are not
worthy of it. Like Satan, Grendel is an enemy of both God and men.
Christian elements are displayed through Beowulf s prayer and decision to fight Grendel weaponless.
When Beowulf comes to Heorot to defeat Grendel, he tells Hrothgar that he is not afraid of Grendel
and that whichever one death fells/ must deem it a just judgment by God (Beowulf Poet, 440 1).
Additionally, before the fight with Grendel, the poet skillfully inserts, And the Geat placed complete
trust/ in his strength of limb and the Lord s favor (669 70). Beowulf s specific mention of the Lord and
the Lord s favor indicates that Beowulf is a believer in God as opposed to polytheism (Rogers 347).
However, the poet s ambiguous description of whether Beowulf is a Christian or a pagan can be
attributed to his need of safety in a changing Anglo Saxon society where he could not, without grave
risk of incongruity apparent to both poet and audience, be represented too dogmatically as a practicing
and believing Christian (Rogers 347). As Beowulf prepares to fight Grendel, he decides not to use
weapons and proudly exclaims twice that May the Divine Lord/ in His wisdom grant the glory of
victory/ to whichever side He sees fit

Essay On Texas Elections
Texas Elections When it is around time for elections, signs around the neighborhood will start
appearing to tell people to vote for them. This occurs mainly around the time of the primaries. The
primaries occur every even year and they exist to elect state positions. Meaning who represents
someone in the districts may change drastically or stay about the same. In simplest terms, the primary
election exists to narrow down the amount of people running in the general election. Sometimes if the
results are too close, a runoff will occur in between the primary and general election. 23 of these have
yet to happen. The 2018 Texas primaries happened earlier this year on March 6th and the results have
been released. The voter turnout, the results, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

positions. To start off the U.S senate position was a land slide. On the republican side Ted Cruz got
85% while the other republican candidates got less than 10 percent. The democratic side had similar
results; Beto O Rourke got 60 percent while the other candidates got less than 30. For the U.S house,
Louie Gohmert (republican) got 88.3 percent and Shirley J. McKellar got 61 percent. Not very many
went for the comptroller position, in fact for republicans Glenn Hegar was the only one who ran. Only
2 ran on the democratic side and Joi Chevalier had 51.9 percent of the votes. For the Governor
position Greg abbot got 90 percent and Lupe Valdez got 40 percent. The lieutenant position also did
not have very many runners; 2 voted on each side. The lead for democratic was Mike Collier with 52.4
percent; the lead for the republican was Dan Patrick with 76.0 percent. For the agriculture
commissioner no one ran except for Kim Olson, and the republican who won was Sid Miller with 55.8
percent. There were a few district positions that ended up having a runoff. District 3, district 5, district
7 are just a few examples of many. There are other positions that went for running that are not listed
here such as railroad commissioner and the district positions. One interesting fact of the election is a

The Relevance of Disturbing Images
The Relevance of Disturbing Images The media today is a very powerful tool of communication. It
gives real exposure to mass audiences about what is right and wrong. With that comes the horrifying
pictures of things such as earthquake aftermaths and disturbing videos such as the killing of Gaddafi.
This poses the age old debate of whether news organizations should publish graphic images, or err on
the side of caution and withhold them. It is also questionable as to what is measured as disturbing. In
this essay, I will explain what I feel is considered disturbing. I will also explain why we as citizens
need to see such images, as well as why some do not.
There are many things that people find disturbing. According to an online ... Show more content on

Analysis Of Steve Biko And Steve Biko
1. Introduction
Steve Biko s political thought draws a significant amount of its ideas from Franz Fanon s political
thought. In fact, Steve Biko in his only publicised works often quotes Fanon and his ideas. Both Biko
and Fanon share similarities in their political thought. Such similarity is seen in their belief on how
political emancipation should be achieved. Biko, in similar respect to Fanon, is of the opinion that
mental emancipation is a prerequisite to being emancipated politically. Therefore psychology and the
psyche play a very significant role in the political thought of Steve Biko and Franz Fanon. This essay
will seek to explain, in light of Biko s political thought, how mental emancipation is a precondition to
political emancipation. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Referring again to his book, Biko makes reference to Fanon s writings by saying that the apartheid
government emptied black people s brain of all form and content , merely reducing the black man to a
shell, a shadow of a man (Biko, 1978: 31). Psychological oppression was very significant to the
apartheid government because the most potent weapon in the hands of the oppressor is the mind of the
oppressed (Biko, 1978: 74). This refers to what Hook (2004: 85) describes as psychopolitics .
Psychopolitics refers to the critical awareness of the role that political factors play within the domain
of the psychological (Hook, 2004: 85). The apartheid government manipulated the minds of black
South Africans in such a way that they viewed themselves as incomplete and insignificant, especially
in relation to the white man. This made the black man easier to oppress politically, economically and
socially.
One could argue that mental oppression or psychological oppression is a precondition to political
oppression, particularly the oppression that occurred in apartheid South Africa. If one accepts such an
idea, one can begin to see the importance of Steve Biko s Black Consciousness Movement. It is
through consciousness that freedom can be achieved by the black man. Mental emancipation is the
necessity for political emancipation. Black Consciousness is what is needed

ROSETTA STONE: PRICING THE 2009 IPO
We are changing the way the world learns languages.

It was mid April 2009. Tom Adams, president and CEO of Rosetta Stone, Inc. (Rosetta
Stone), the language learning software company, reached for his iPhone to contact Phil Clough of
private equity fund ABS Capital. Adams and Clough had been discussing plans to take
Rosetta Stone public for some time. The wait was finally over.
In the wake of the 2008 financial crisis, the market for initial public offerings (IPOs) evaporated. By
early spring the market was showing its first encouraging signs. Just a week prior, Chinese online

With the crisis in full swing, investors had flocked to U.S. Treasuries for security, pushing down yields
on these instruments to historic lows (see Exhibit 4). Heightened investor risk aversion had expanded
the risk premium for all securities. The general market risk premium was currently estimated at 6.5%
or 8.5%, respectively, depending on whether long term or short term government yields were used in
estimating the risk free rate.
In February and March of 2009, there had been some evidence of improvement in financial and
economic conditions. Wholesale inventories were in decline. New home sales were beginning to rise.
The equity market had experienced a rally of over 20% in recent weeks. Yet many money managers
and analysts worried that such economic green shoots were only a temporary rally in a longer running
bear market. There was strong concern that the magnitude of government spending would spur
inflation in the U.S. dollar. GDP growth was still negative, corporate bankruptcy rates and
unemployment were at historic highs, and many believed the economic void was just too big for a
quick recovery to be feasible. A Wall Street Journal survey of U.S. economists suggested that the
economy was expected to generate positive growth in the last half of 2009.1 In contrast, a survey of
U.S. corporate executives stated that less than a third of respondents expected to see an economic
upturn in 2009.2 The

Who Is Abigail A Dynamic Character In The Crucible
Throughout The Crucible, Abigail Williams is the biggest liar and manipulator in the play. Although
she is one of the worst characters in this story, she definitely is one of the most interesting ones.
Because she is such a dynamic character, there are many ways to analyze her. Abigail also makes you
change your point of view on her once the plot develops. She states that her name has no blush in the
village but there are many reasons why that is farthest from the truth. For starters, Abigal is a
pathological liar, which is one of the 10 comandments. You drank blood, Abby... You drank a charm to
kill John Proctor s wife (Miller, 1136 1137). On page 1154, Abigail tells Reverand Hale that she didn t
drink chicken blood when confronted, but soon after confesses to him that when Tituba conjured
spirits, she forced her to drink the blood. Through all of the acts, Abigail seems to lie her way through
everything just to save herself, never having shame in it, showing she is not a true Puritan woman. On
page 1131, Abigail tries to persuade Parris that when he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She threatens all the girls who danced with Tituba in the woods saying Let either of you breath a
word... I will bring a pointy reckoning that will shudder you (Miller, 1137). Quotes simillar to these
can be seen periodically in the play in order to control everyone in Abigail s path. Continuing, Abigail
is also extremely manipulative. Using God as her scapegoat, she is able to manipulate many into
thinking that she is pure and has nothing to do with the devil. I want the light of God, I want the sweet
love of Jesus! (Miller, 1156). As you can see, Abigail is a liar and manipulator which makes her a
perfect charater to analyze. Being a protagonist helped create a more dynamic and major character in
this drama. Overall, Abigail Williams can be recognized as on of the most controversial characters in

Insanity of War in Slaughterhouse Five
Slaughterhouse Five, by Kurt Vonnegut Jr., is the tale of a gawky World War II veteran/soldier, Billy
Pilgrim. His wartime experiences and their effects lead him to the ultimate conclusion that war is
unexplainable. To portray this effectively, Vonnegut presents the story in two dimensions: historical
and science fiction. The irrationality of war is emphasized in each dimension by contrasts in its comic
and tragic elements. The historical seriousness of the Battle of the Bulge and the bombing of Dresden
are contrasted by many ironies and dark humor; the fantastical, science fiction type place of
Tralfamadore is, in truth, an outlet for Vonnegut to show his incredibly serious fatalistic views. The
surprising variations of the seriousness ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One soldier dies from the dry heaves after being forced to work in a rotting corpse mine. Ironically,
this man has survived the bombing of Dresden, yet dies from the smell of others who died in the
bombing. Eventually, the corpse mines are closed because of the horrendous conditions, and the war
ends. The book ends as Billy is walking out of the slaughterhouse after gaining his freedom and he
notices is that, Birds were talking. One bird said to Billy Pilgrim, Poo tee weet? The bird s cameo in
the story reinforces the idea that there is nothing to say about an unnecessary massacre as in Dresden,
and that war is illogical, like the bird s words. This is ironic, since the theme of the novel, which
should be the clearest message derived from the story, is summed up in the incoherent words of a bird.
All these incidences of irony show senselessness and coincidence, with undertones of dark humor. [In
questioning why the incidences of the novel occur, it is impossible to give a logical explanation.] This
parallels the idea that war is nonsense, senseless, full of coincidence, and is unexplainable. As a result
of the trauma of Billy s war experience, he faces an inability to deal with reality later in his life. The
fantastical Tralfamadore is a planet where Billy escapes to when he feels life s stresses; however mad
Billy seems to have become, Tralfamadore doubles to reveal Vonnegut s earnest fatalistic views.

The Voice of Billie Holiday Essay
The Voice of Billie Holiday
A woman stands before you, and although she isn t a politician, she expresses her moving thoughts on
issues that affect all Americans. Her voice isn t harsh or demanding in tone. Her stature is slender and
traced in a shimmer of light that reflects from her dress. A southern magnolia is lying comfortably
above her ear. She sings. She sings of incomprehension, of hate, and of a race s pain. She sings low
and confused. She sings as Our Lady of Sorrow (Davis 1), a representation of a whole people torn and
discriminated against. And though her speech is not spoken, she moves a crowd, one that gathers into
many. Billie Holiday comes to prove that one woman s voice, singing one song, that calls ... Show

the human race could understand. Holiday proved herself a race woman, a term created for a woman
who spoke out for civil rights for the black race.
Billie Holiday was a jazz singer. Holiday was a musician of great proportion, but as a black woman
was discriminated against even as an artist (Davis 2). Holiday started her career as a young woman,
and was talented enough to start her career as a singer; when most black women her age were forced
into a dancing career, due to the white male dominated entertainment industry. Holiday sang jazz
songs that varied from My Man, a song about a man who beats her, to Strange Fruit, a haunting protest
song about lynching in the American South. Tony Bennett once stated about Holiday, She didn t sing
anything unless she had lived it (Foley 1). So black fans claimed her as their voice to willing white
ears, not only as a favorite performer but as a kind of patron saint (Davis 3). Holiday faced the simple
obstacle of being heard. Although jazz had become a moving genre of music in her time, and Holiday
s talent was overwhelming, it was a challenge for a black woman to be taken seriously for the
messages in her songs. Black women were often praised for being emotional and not intellectual in
their musical talent.

Anne-Marie Slaughter-Why Women Still CanT Have It All
Being at the Top is Great, But....... In Anne Marie Slaughter s essay Why Women Still Can t Have It

Slaughter is the president and CEO of the New American Foundation, a nonprofit, nonpartisan public

is concerned about not being a supportive mother to her children because of work issues. Her career
requires her to work for long periods of time while juggling reports and writing commentaries on

have a negative effect on how most women view their success because they are constantly working
without being able to put their energy to something they value family. Slaughter has two teenage boys

could do. While working in Washington, D.C., she is only able to come home on the weekends and for
two teenage boys spending time with their mother only on the weekends is not enough. When
Slaughter s two year public service was over she immediately went home to her family. Slaughter was

Sins of the Father The movie Boy in the Striped Pajamas , based on the book by John Boyne, isn t

responsibility we have as human beings to distinguish between the two; for it is responsibility that

significant message, and should be seen by all. The movie is told from the point of view of eight year

The Humanitarian Intervention Since 1990

With reference to one example of a humanitarian intervention since 1990, assess whether it was
humanitarian .
Key:
FRY Former Republic of Yugoslavia On March 23rd 1999, the National Atlantic Treaty Organisation
(NATO) began a three month period under the name Operation Allied Force, which involved the
bombing of the Former Republic of Yugoslavia. Allegedly, the reason for this was to prevent the
ethnic cleansing of Kosovar Albanians in Serbia under Slobodan Milosevic s regime. NATO itself has
provided justifications as to why they intervened in the FRY, with multiple scholars supporting the
reasons given. However there are several scholars who reject the justifications put forward and believe

NATO s intervention in the FRY is deemed humanitarian due to it being seen as a way to stop any
further human catastrophe (Cohn 2002:80) in Kosovo due to the tensions between the Kosovo
Liberation Army (KLA) and the Yugoslav Military. There was a fear that it would result in the ethnic
cleansing of many Kosovar Albanians under Milosevic s regime. As a result of the war between the
two armies, it had left approximately 1500 Kosovar Albanians dead and over 300,000 had left their
homes to hide in the mountains of Kosovo due to the fear of being killed. (Roberts 1999:112). The
huge numbers of Albanians fleeing their homes resonated with a large proportion of Europe. Because
of this, NATO had made it clear that they were going to try and bring the Albanian refugees
9823942 POLI10601 back to their homes and had promised to do so. (IICK 2008:89). As NATO was
intervening due to their attempt to save Kosovar Albanians, many see this as being a humanitarian
justification because they were trying to protect lives and stop the destruction caused by the ethnic
cleansing of Albanians under Milosevic. There seems to be the belief that an intervention can be
deemed humanitarian if it attempts to save the lives of others,

Ishmael Outcasts
In biblical times, there lived a man named Abraham and his beloved wife Sarah, who prayed to God
every day for the gift of a child. Sarah, however, remained barren and suggested Abraham sleep with
his servant Haggar as a surrogate. Haggar did bare a child named Ishmael, but Sarah grew to despise
Haggar and her child for gifting Abraham with what she could not. As time past, Sarah gave birth to
Isaac, the miracle child, and God decided Isaac would receive his covenant and subsequently Ishmael
and Haggar were banished as outcasts. In the first line of Moby Dick by Herman Melville, Ishmael
utters the words Call me Ishmael (pg. 18) immediately categorizing himself as an outcast. He does not
fit in with people on land nor at sea, and his intellectualism sets him apart from average whalers.
While Ishmael remains in limbo between the two worlds, he finds a home in a person rather than a
place: Queequeg. Despite his status as a drifter, Ishmael feels a sense of familiar allegiance with ...

Chapter 72 The Monkey rope when Ishmael holds Queequeg s harness so that he can safety stay on

The Pros And Cons Of World Population Control
Have you ever wondered what the answer to world problems is? World population control is one
option, but it is not a good one. Some say that it would help improve life, and would help bring
balance to the world. However, I believe that population control would not truly help anyone. World
population control is not the answer to world problems, for it would take away human life, the right to
have kids, and in the long run would not help any living thing.
The idea of population control started out many years ago. The person who first started Planned
Parenthood wanted to control the population of African Americans because she wanted less of them
around (National Public Radio). She tried to persuade more African Americans to come to Planned
Parenthood than people of other races. In addition, there was forced population control during the
Holocaust, a time in World War II, when Nazi Germany tried to exterminate all Jews and others the
Germans did not like (National Public Radio). This was because Adolf Hitler discriminated against
anyone not white or German. In the late 20th century, the Chinese decided to make a rule to where

Visual Art Reflection Papers
During the short six weeks of Art Therapy class I was surprised on all the positive things I learned in
such short period of time. We covered different modalities in Art therapy which encouraged
participants to be creative and make use of their imagination. For this intermodal Art experience paper
I created a visual art poster that expressed my current feelings and emotions. I began to look for
images that expressed my personal emotional state; I was surprised with what emerged from my visual
art poster. It illustrated visual images of stress on one side to images of success on the opposite side.
There was so much nonverbal expression in one piece of visual art, as it spoke for itself without
words. As I contemplated the poster and its messages, I moved to a second modality, in response to the
visual art poster I wrote a poem in response to the Art piece. The poem came about naturally; my
feelings flowed into words which made me feel good about the visual art poster that I had created. As
an inexperienced poetry writer I felt that my poem was not as good as an experienced poetry writer.
However I still tried it, as I began to write I began to think of what message the visual art poster
conveyed to me, including what emotions it provoked. Several questions came to mind, what were the
visual images on the poster saying about me? And why did I create such piece? Author Malchiodi
(2007) notes that First, art expression is thought to be a form of visual language through which

Social Marketing
Henderson (2001) also adds that:
Embracing CSR would inevitably have consequences that would raise the cost of doing business,
could well reduce revenues, and might also cause companies to sponsor low yielding investment
which they would otherwise have turned down.
In addition, organizations really motivated to apply and absorb CSR as a core value in its activities,
would have to undergo a deep and internal change in its business operations and culture (employees,
suppliers, offices) which represents a costly task and a time consuming mission. (Henderson, 2001)
Another important aspect suggested by Trebeck (2008) is that organizations must keep in mind that

cited in Comfort et al. 2007, pp.585) describe it as the convergence of branding and Corporate Social
Responsibility .
Lou and Bhattacharya (2009) maintain that CSR creates a level of Moral Capital , which then
translates into Relational wealth with different stakeholders. This is based on brand faith and
credibility with costumers, affective commitment among employees and regulators, trust among
suppliers and higher attractiveness for investors in general. Consequently it is important for
organizations, to understand that CSR initiatives need to be communicated and transmitted to its group
of interest. As Blomqvist and Posner (2004 cited in Comfort et al. 2007, pp.584) propose:
Companies are losing out because there is often little or no integration between CSR and Marketing
departments and their respective strategies and unless CSR becomes central to the Marketing director
s agenda, it will not have the desired effect and can potentially create a backlash.
Lou and Bhattacharya (2009) also add that companies investing in these CSR initiatives can develop
market based intangible assets like Customer loyalty, which can then reduce uncertainty about future
profits of the firm.

Pros And Cons Of Stereotypes
Stereotypes
A person with smaller eyes and more yellowish skin tone like myself will be asked the question, Are
you Chinese or Korean? at some point of time in their live span. Now in the modern ages , especially
in America , we tend to assume a widely, simplified or distorted image with the people around us

we tend to make the generalization that they are the typical Americans that eat burgers and fries every

Alexander II And Alexander The Great
A tactician is defined as someone who is good at planning tactics; Philip II and Alexander the Great
would not fall under this name because they were not good at planning tactics, they were disputed to
be the best at planning them. Alexander III the Great was born in 356 BC in the capital of Macedonia;

was the first to create an unstoppable Macedonian army and his son Alexander would further expand
the efficiency and power of such army. In the spring of 336 BC a Macedonian noble named Pausanias

Alexander III as Philip s only successor became king at the age of twenty and Philip s dream of

force for the fall of the Persian Empire and the huge expansion of the Macedonian Empire. Within 13
years Alexander created the largest empire of his time; this was done by, being a military genius that

Hot Tin Roof Mendacity
The Term Mendacity And Its Thematic Contributions to Cat on a Hot Tin Roof by Tennessee Williams
[They are] all liars, all liars, all lying dying liars (2.1.985). The preceding is one of the most emotional
lines at the end of the second act in Tennessee Williams play Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. It also succeeds
in setting the tone for the entire play. The story centers on a dysfunctional southern family who is
plagued by lies and deception. The closing of the second act is one of the most intense and critical
moments in the play where Big Daddy finds out his son, Gooper, and daughter in law, Mae, have been
lying to him about his rapidly declining health. Just before this gripping climax, however, Big Daddy
has an emotional conversation with his youngest son, Brick, about mendacity. This term is central to
the play s themes and is mentioned continuously throughout the play. Still, the lies and dishonesties
come from many different entities within the play. The roots of most problems the characters face in
the play come from mendacity within the society, their family and the characters themselves. Cat on a
Hot Tin Roof is set in the 1950 s, a time when society still considered homosexuality as a mental
disorder, as it was not removed from The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders
(DSM) until 1973 (Drescher). In the play, it is repeatedly mentioned that Brick and his deceased friend
Skipper may have had feelings for each other that were deeper than those

What You Don t Know Might Kill You
What You Don t Know Might Kill You Millions of Americans wake up every morning and make a
decision about what they will eat for breakfast to jump start their day. Some may reach for a bowl of
Cheerios or multigrain cereal, while others may opt for yogurt, toast, or a pastry. Some people choose
to wash down their breakfast with pulp free orange juice, while some may drink a protein drink or an
invigorating coffee to get them going. For lunch, many people will consume sandwiches piled high
with meats and cheeses or perhaps a cheap meal from the nearest fast food restaurant. When it comes
to dinner, this meal may vary from family to family, but most dinners consist of a starch or two, a kind
of meat, some variation of a vegetable on a good day, and a dessert to finish out the day.
People who regularly eat this way have more than just food in common. In fact, most people who
constantly eat the previously mentioned American diet, suffer from some sort of physical, mental, or
emotional illness, whether it be chronic headaches, poor gut health, obesity, diabetes, asthma, chronic
fatigue, ADHD, anxiety, or any of the other thousands of health problems. Many people suffering
from these illnesses are led to believe that there is no direct cure and that they will just have to cope
with their illness. However, what most of those people do not realize is that many of the diseases they
are plagued with are often caused by the chemicals that make up their food. Even if the chemicals do

Spatial Planning And Spatial Planning
Spatial planning is assisting with a change in emphasis by governments in the way they think about
the role of planning to support, change and manage economic growth, improve quality of life, through

planning can be more than the traditional regulatory and zoning practices of land use.
Spatial planning is regional planning, transportation, environment social and economic growth of an

The got married on May 28, 1533 (just days after officially divorcing Catherine of Aragon). It is said
that they had secretly exchanged wedding vows before, probably in late January 1533. Soon after
getting married, Anne became pregnant. Anne was crowned Queen of Consort of England on July 1,
1533. Then on September 7 of the same year, Anne gave birth to Henry s second daughter, Elizabeth
(Elizabeth I of England). Since Anne didn t produce a male heir for Henry, he became bored of her. A
plot to execute her was then made by Thomas Cromwell. Anne and Henry s marriage was annulled on
May 17, 1536 and she was beheaded on May 19, 1536 on charges of adultery, incest, and high treason.
Jane Seymour
Only 10 11 days after Anne Boleyn was beheaded, King Henry married Jane Seymour, his third wife.
After a year, Jane gave birth to a healthy male heir but Jane died just twelve days later. After her
death, she was given a proper queen s burial.
Anne of Cleves
January 6, 1540 the King married his fourth wife to whom he was only married to for six months.
Their marriage ended because of her pre contract marriage with Francis I, Duke of Loraine. She did
not agree to their annulment. Anne lived longer than the last two wives and the King.
Catherine Howard
Catherine was King Henry s fifth wife. She was beheaded after Henry was told about her allegedly
committing adultery between Catherine and Thomas Culpepper.

Summary Of The Of Khoja s Camel
Belakane stomped through the twisting dirt paths that ran between the houses of Arjana, a mixture of
fury and hunger making her dizzy and causing her vision to waver. She swayed a little, as if
intoxicated from too much fermented drink. The villagers stared as she passed by, but she didn t care.
How she hated these people, the hypocrites! They had looked at her with nothing but pity from the
moment she arrived on the back of Khoja s camel. She was an undesirable, someone that they, in all
their good grace, would be willing to bestow their charity upon. In Belakane s own village, it was a
shameful thing to be so low as to be pitied. One must hold their head high, never subjecting
themselves to others around them in such a way. She was a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

She would not have been sent away from her homeland in disgrace, she would have been treasured.
Among the people of Jaramani, another son was always welcome to help tend the fields and livestock,
bring back meat, protect the village, and carry on the family line. But instead she was cursed with the
bad luck to have been born a woman, a burden. Her parents disposed of her at the first opportunity
presented to them, when that evil merchant passed through their village. When he departed, he had her
tied by her wrists to one of his camels. She cried out to her community members to help her, but they
turned their gazes away from her plight. When his caravan was out of sight of the villages, she was
beaten and verbally assaulted with each and every error she made, no matter how small; speaking
without permission, serving dishes in the wrong order, slouching, crying, being sloppy or slow in her
duties. Then, nearly a moon into their journey, her very life reached a dark and sinister climax. One
night, when he had impaired his senses with fermented drink and sacred herbs, he stumbled into her
small tent with impure motives. Her master began to rip her robes off one after the other. She
struggled against him, but he always kept her bound at night so that she couldn t run away, it was
useless. She forgot her pride and begged him to stop, sending pleas to the gods to protect her, but he
only laughed. He groped her and violated her with his fingers, and

Bell System
Why have so many rules that aren t even followed by hundreds of people?By this sorts of actions the
school s reputation lowers every time that a student is being counted tardy because other districts only
view the bad things and they may criticize by that instead of the scholar percentage average grades
obtained per class year.Hundreds of things are discussed within the thousands of students that walk in
the hallways from one side to another. However, one thing that all school students on campus can agree
on changing is the tardy bell system. The principal should change the tardy system from the school
because the students might have late dismissal from a class and it is unfair for them to receive
punishment when they try to be early all the time. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

about the good effects , the bad effects should be considered too.The impacts of a tardy are not

Descriptive Essay About Concert
Over the last four years, I ve gone to over thirty concerts for artists whose genres range from pop, rap,
and alternative. Since I m experienced with them, I m aware of the different price ranges and the stage
performances. After my first concert, I started working so that I could afford to have concerts as a
hobby. Even though I have gone to many different types of concerts, like pop, rap, and alternative, my
favorite kind to experience are alternative concerts.
My first concert was also my first time seeing a pop band. Every teenager loved One Direction,
including me, and dreamed of seeing them live one day. This experience meant a lot to me since it was
a band that I had loved for a very long time. The tickets were a gift from my mother, Melissa, and I
went with my sister, Melisvette. During that, I realized how happy concerts made me and got a job so
that I could continue experiencing moments like these. What I didn t want to experience, though, was
the price it was to go to pop concerts.
I wasn t worried about the price of tickets until I started paying for them myself. As a kid, I didn t
contemplate the cost since my mother bought them as a present, but then I started to realize how
ludicrous the prices could be. At the time, I was really into popular bands and artist, so the concerts
were always expensive. I bought tickets to see popular artists like Demi Lovato, Fifth Harmony, and
Twenty One Pilots, twice. These were the ones I spent the most money on and the seating was just not
worth it.
In 2014, I traveled to Cleveland, Ohio, to go to a Demi Lovato concert. This was the second pop
concert I ve been to and the first time I traveled a few hours for a concert. At the time, I was still new
to concerts, but I started to see a theme with pop concerts. They were always the most expensive
compared to others and the seats were never that great. For Demi, I spent over $150 to sit in a seat that
wasn t even close to her. Even though her concert meant a lot to me, because I looked up to Demi
Lovato, I just found it unfair how expensive these kinds of concerts were. Compared to other concerts
I ve been to; the popular artists were always the ones to put the least amount of effort into their
performances. Their

Errors In The Alamo Movie
The Alamo was one of the most important events in settling the land in the western part of the country.
There are several movies about it but The Alamo 1960 is the movie used for this paper. This film did
an okay job depicting what really happened in that two week siege from February 23, 1836 to March
6, 1836, so there were some historical errors in the movie. A couple of the errors in the movie is that
the actual battle of the Alamo was fought at dawn when the enemies were asleep. Another was how
the Mexican forces were shown as the ones that wanted the battle but in reality, they were the ones
that were protecting what was theirs already. There were also some inaccuracies with individual
characters and event leading up to the battle were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the movie, Colonel Fanin s men were killed before the battle. But in reality, they were killed after
the battle so the only real reasonable way they never made it is because they didn t bring any supply
wagons. Another error comes from one of the dresses that Susannah Dickinson wore, the dress has a
zipper, it s not possible for her to have one on her dress since zipper weren t invented until 1914 and
even after that they were never used on dresses until the late 1930s. Another factual mistake is how
Bowie got a letter that his wife had died while he was away in the movie but in real life she had died
in 1833 and the battle was in 1836. In real life, it was her sister that came and accompanied Bowie
during his battle with the Mexicans. In the movie, Jim Bowie is hurt during the battle by an explosion
and he shown trying to recover in a room on the bed. But in real life he wasn t injured in an explosion
he was trying to get well from an illness that symptoms that he showed made it be believed that he had
pneumonia, tuberculosis, or typhoid. In the movie, Travis states that he is married but by the time of
the battle he had already been

Fighting The Fire Syndrome
Fighting the Fire Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) is the most painful disease known to
medical science. Greater awareness of CRPS will help people who get misdiagnosed or not diagnosed
soon enough to go into recovery before symptoms become permanent. Learning what CRPS is will
help people learn to live with it while doctors learn how to treat it. In order to help spread awareness
about CRPS first people need to know what it is. It was first described by a doctor treating soldiers
with cannonball injuries in the Civil War, the syndrome has gone by many names over the past 150
years: Causalgia in soldiers, reflex sympathetic dystrophy syndrome in civilians, and today CRPS
(Lynn Everly). CRPS happens when there is an injury to a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Food and Drug Administration specifically for CRPS. There are many different ways to treat CRPS
but none of the them work for all patients. All known treatments do not completely get rid of the pain
the treatments simply lessen the pain. Since there is not a treatment that works for everyone or that
eliminates all of the pain CRPS is considered an incurable disease. Common medications used for
CRPS are steroids, blood pressure medication, antidepressants, corticosteroids, seizure medication, or
opioids. Physical and occupational therapy are used to keep strength and mobility in the affected
limb(s). It is important to keep the affected limb(s) moving because CRPS thrives on immobility. The
best thing that a person can do for CRPS is to use the affected area as much as possible. Counseling is
used help combat the emotional effects of CRPS. Spinal cord stimulation is a typical treatment. This
happens by doctors surgically implanting electrodes near the spinal cord to stop the chronic pain
signals from reaching the brain. Topical anesthetic creams are made to put on the skin of the infected
area so that the treatment absorbs into the skin where it is needed. Surgical sympathectomy is used as
well but there is much controversy over this procedure where doctors surgically destroy some of the
nerves in the affected area. Some patients and doctors believe that surgical sympathectomy only
makes CRPS

Comparing Saul And David
Saul and David had a lot in common. Both were kings of Israel while Samuel was its prophet. Both
men were considered attractive. 1 Samuel 9:2 describes Saul as a choice and handsome man, and there
was not a more handsome than he among the sons of Israel. David is described as he was ruddy, with
beautiful eyes and a handsome appearance in 1 Samuel 16:12. While Saul was sent to find the lost
donkeys, David was a shepherd over flocks of sheep. Both men were handpicked by God. God
revealed his choice through the prophet Samuel who also anointed them both.
Both Saul and David were men of war. Each led armies against the enemies of Israel. They were both
politically perceptive and operated prophetically. The difference between these two

Essay about The Canadian Exchange Rate
The Canadian Exchange Rate
The Canadian Dollar has undergone a significant depreciation over the past 10 years. The drop in
relative value of our currency has caused a great deal of consternation not only among economists but
also in the media and consequently the general public has well. Ordinary citizens experience first hand
the effects of such depreciation every time they go to our most frequented vacation spot, the United
States. While economic variables are not usually the subject of casual debate, the exchange rate trend
has even permeated our most beloved conversation topic, professional hockey. Despite the popularity
of the subject, consensus and clarity are rarities. What has happened to the value of the Canadian ...

The value of our currency is most reflected in the price of the US dollar. This paper will therefore use
the price of a US dollar in terms of Canadian dollars as the value of the Canadian dollar.
In the previous section I assumed that the currency is flexible, that is to say that the price is based on
foreign exchange market activity. It is however possible to fix the price of a currency at a particular
level. In order to accomplish this, the central bank must be willing to buy or sell the perceived
excesses of the market; i.e. the bank must buy or sell enough Canadian dollars so that the price
remains stable. If such a practice becomes unsustainable the central must change the fixed price or
move the peg. Such a system, known as the Breton Woods system was predominant in post world war
II industrialized economies. However by the Nineteen sixties Canada, Canada like many other nations,
moved to a flexible exchange rate system. It is important not to assume that because the currency is
not officially fixed at some level, that the central bank does not play a role in determining its price.
The central bank still intervenes in the market but not to hold the price at a certain level, but rather to
prevent to price from fluctuating rapidly up or down. This type of exchange rate regime is known as a
dirty float.
Over this past decade, the value of a Canadian dollar has dropped nearly 25%. In 1990, a US dollar
could be

  • 2. Plume Conduits Essay Additionally, lower mantle plume conduits rooted in wide patches of strongly negative velocity reduction were found in Hawaii, Iceland and Samoa (p. 96). Figure four of Frenchs research revealed that eleven major hotspots possessed plumes with notably similar characteristics. Visual inspection of these similar plume conduits indicate that they may derive from very broad, lower mantle domes (p. 97). Nonetheless, French notes that there are corresponding plumes that are below the detection ability of current imaging technology, making it difficult to make any concrete assumptions (p. 97). Ultimately though, French s observation of seismic imaging of different geographic locations, he was able to confirm the presence of broad plume like ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I think that this simply speaks to God s divine intelligence and the mystery of His creation. Despite all the current science and technology that mankind has developed, there are still so many questions that we are unable to answer with certainty. Nonetheless, I think that French made a genuine effort to thoroughly explore the mystery of volcanic hotspots and their sources. He began with a well supported hypothesis, but admitted that it was controversial and did not claim its absolute validity from the beginning. Instead, French set out to study the phenomenon on his own accord. Additionally, even after the models he included in his research, displayed evidence that would likely support his original hypothesis, he acknowledged the fact that even these variables do not provide conclusive answers concerning volcanic hotspots. For instance, the whole mantle seismic imaging techniques that he implemented in his research demonstrated that many hotspots share the common attribute of being near broad plume like conduits, however, he mentioned that these conduits cannot be undoubtedly labeled as the source of the hotspots until further knowledge is obtained. An issue that I ran into early on into the reading was the problem of comprehending some of the vocabulary terms used in French s research. Some of the terms, such as seismic imagery, mantle plumes, and obviously volcanoes, were words that I had either learned from my textbook reading and the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Elements Of Christianity And Moganism In Beowulf Beowulf, an Anglo Saxon literary work, encompasses elements of both Christianity and paganism. Originally a polytheist group, the Anglo Saxons began to embrace monotheism after learning about Christianity. Although they embraced monotheism, elements of paganism and polytheism still lingered in their society as they tried to adapt to their new belief. A combination of Christianity and paganism in Beowulf is the result of the unknown poet s view of the change in beliefs in Anglo Saxon society. Regarding the poet, Mr. H. L. Rogers states, The past fascinated him, but his faith told him that God ruled over the race of men in those days, as He still does (22). Many think that Beowulf is a pagan poem because of its references to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Satan, an outcast also, can never approach God s throne room either. Only someone who is worthy and righteous can approach the throne room; and because of their actions, Satan and Grendel are not worthy of it. Like Satan, Grendel is an enemy of both God and men. Christian elements are displayed through Beowulf s prayer and decision to fight Grendel weaponless. When Beowulf comes to Heorot to defeat Grendel, he tells Hrothgar that he is not afraid of Grendel and that whichever one death fells/ must deem it a just judgment by God (Beowulf Poet, 440 1). Additionally, before the fight with Grendel, the poet skillfully inserts, And the Geat placed complete trust/ in his strength of limb and the Lord s favor (669 70). Beowulf s specific mention of the Lord and the Lord s favor indicates that Beowulf is a believer in God as opposed to polytheism (Rogers 347). However, the poet s ambiguous description of whether Beowulf is a Christian or a pagan can be attributed to his need of safety in a changing Anglo Saxon society where he could not, without grave risk of incongruity apparent to both poet and audience, be represented too dogmatically as a practicing and believing Christian (Rogers 347). As Beowulf prepares to fight Grendel, he decides not to use weapons and proudly exclaims twice that May the Divine Lord/ in His wisdom grant the glory of victory/ to whichever side He sees fit ... This occurs mainly around the time of the primaries. The primaries occur every even year and they exist to elect state positions. In simplest terms, the primary election exists to narrow down the amount of people running in the general election. Sometimes if the results are too close, a runoff will occur in between the primary and general election. 23 of these have yet to happen. The democratic side had similar results; Beto O Rourke got 60 percent while the other candidates got less than 30. For the U.S house, Louie Gohmert (republican) got 88.3 percent and Shirley J. McKellar got 61 percent. Not very many went for the comptroller position, in fact for republicans Glenn Hegar was the only one who ran. Only 2 ran on the democratic side and Joi Chevalier had 51.9 percent of the votes. For the Governor position Greg abbot got 90 percent and Lupe Valdez got 40 percent. The lieutenant position also did not have very many runners; 2 voted on each side. The lead for democratic was Mike Collier with 52.4 percent; the lead for the republican was Dan Patrick with 76.0 percent. For the agriculture commissioner no one ran except for Kim Olson, and the republican who won was Sid Miller with 55.8 percent. There were a few district positions that ended up having a runoff. It gives real exposure to mass audiences about what is right and wrong. With that comes the horrifying pictures of things such as earthquake aftermaths and disturbing videos such as the killing of Gaddafi. This poses the age old debate of whether news organizations should publish graphic images, or err on the side of caution and withhold them. It is also questionable as to what is measured as disturbing. In this essay, I will explain what I feel is considered disturbing. • 8. Analysis Of Steve Biko And Steve Biko 1. Introduction Steve Biko s political thought draws a significant amount of its ideas from Franz Fanon s political thought. In fact, Steve Biko in his only publicised works often quotes Fanon and his ideas. Both Biko and Fanon share similarities in their political thought. Such similarity is seen in their belief on how political emancipation should be achieved. Biko, in similar respect to Fanon, is of the opinion that mental emancipation is a prerequisite to being emancipated politically. Therefore psychology and the psyche play a very significant role in the political thought of Steve Biko and Franz Fanon. This essay will seek to explain, in light of Biko s political thought, how mental emancipation is a precondition to political emancipation. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Referring again to his book, Biko makes reference to Fanon s writings by saying that the apartheid government emptied black people s brain of all form and content , merely reducing the black man to a shell, a shadow of a man (Biko, 1978: 31). Psychological oppression was very significant to the apartheid government because the most potent weapon in the hands of the oppressor is the mind of the oppressed (Biko, 1978: 74). This refers to what Hook (2004: 85) describes as psychopolitics . Psychopolitics refers to the critical awareness of the role that political factors play within the domain of the psychological (Hook, 2004: 85). The apartheid government manipulated the minds of black South Africans in such a way that they viewed themselves as incomplete and insignificant, especially in relation to the white man. This made the black man easier to oppress politically, economically and socially. One could argue that mental oppression or psychological oppression is a precondition to political oppression, particularly the oppression that occurred in apartheid South Africa. If one accepts such an idea, one can begin to see the importance of Steve Biko s Black Consciousness Movement. It is through consciousness that freedom can be achieved by the black man. Mental emancipation is the necessity for political emancipation. Black Consciousness is what is needed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The equity market had experienced a rally of over 20% in recent weeks. Abigail also makes you change your point of view on her once the plot develops. She states that her name has no blush in the village but there are many reasons why that is farthest from the truth. • 11. Insanity of War in Slaughterhouse Five Slaughterhouse Five, by Kurt Vonnegut Jr., is the tale of a gawky World War II veteran/soldier, Billy Pilgrim. His wartime experiences and their effects lead him to the ultimate conclusion that war is unexplainable. To portray this effectively, Vonnegut presents the story in two dimensions: historical and science fiction. The irrationality of war is emphasized in each dimension by contrasts in its comic and tragic elements. The historical seriousness of the Battle of the Bulge and the bombing of Dresden are contrasted by many ironies and dark humor; the fantastical, science fiction type place of Tralfamadore is, in truth, an outlet for Vonnegut to show his incredibly serious fatalistic views. Ironically, this man has survived the bombing of Dresden, yet dies from the smell of others who died in the bombing. The book ends as Billy is walking out of the slaughterhouse after gaining his freedom and he notices is that, Birds were talking. One bird said to Billy Pilgrim, Poo tee weet? The bird s cameo in the story reinforces the idea that there is nothing to say about an unnecessary massacre as in Dresden, and that war is illogical, like the bird s words. This is ironic, since the theme of the novel, which should be the clearest message derived from the story, is summed up in the incoherent words of a bird. All these incidences of irony show senselessness and coincidence, with undertones of dark humor. [In questioning why the incidences of the novel occur, it is impossible to give a logical explanation.] This parallels the idea that war is nonsense, senseless, full of coincidence, and is unexplainable. As a result of the trauma of Billy s war experience, he faces an inability to deal with reality later in his life. Slaughter is the president and CEO of the New American Foundation, a nonprofit, nonpartisan public policy institute and has worked as director of policy planning for the U.S. State Department. Film and Book The Striped Pajamas by John Boyne Essay Sins of the Father The movie Boy in the Striped Pajamas , based on the book by John Boyne, isn t exactly a feel good film, but it is an awesome representation of the existence of good and evil, and the responsibility we have as human beings to distinguish between the two; for it is responsibility that distinguishes us from every other being. In my opinion, this is an important, life changing film, with a significant message, and should be seen by all. The movie is told from the point of view of eight year old Bruno whose innate sense of morality and justice ultimately makes him the fallen hero of the story. Allegedly, the reason for this was to prevent the ethnic cleansing of Kosovar Albanians in Serbia under Slobodan Milosevic s regime. NATO s intervention in the FRY is deemed humanitarian due to it being seen as a way to stop any further human catastrophe (Cohn 2002:80) in Kosovo due to the tensions between the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) and the Yugoslav Military. There was a fear that it would result in the ethnic cleansing of many Kosovar Albanians under Milosevic s regime. As a result of the war between the two armies, it had left approximately 1500 Kosovar Albanians dead and over 300,000 had left their homes to hide in the mountains of Kosovo due to the fear of being killed. (Roberts 1999:112). The huge numbers of Albanians fleeing their homes resonated with a large proportion of Europe. Because of this, NATO had made it clear that they were going to try and bring the Albanian refugees 9823942 POLI10601 back to their homes and had promised to do so. (IICK 2008:89). As NATO was intervening due to their attempt to save Kosovar Albanians, many see this as being a humanitarian justification because they were trying to protect lives and stop the destruction caused by the ethnic cleansing of Albanians under Milosevic. As time past, Sarah gave birth to Isaac, the miracle child, and God decided Isaac would receive his covenant and subsequently Ishmael and Haggar were banished as outcasts. World population control is not the answer to world problems, for it would take away human life, the right to have kids, and in the long run would not help any living thing. We covered different modalities in Art therapy which encouraged participants to be creative and make use of their imagination. For this intermodal Art experience paper I created a visual art poster that expressed my current feelings and emotions. I began to look for images that expressed my personal emotional state; I was surprised with what emerged from my visual art poster. It illustrated visual images of stress on one side to images of success on the opposite side. There was so much nonverbal expression in one piece of visual art, as it spoke for itself without words. As I contemplated the poster and its messages, I moved to a second modality, in response to the visual art poster I wrote a poem in response to the Art piece. The poem came about naturally; my feelings flowed into words which made me feel good about the visual art poster that I had created. As an inexperienced poetry writer I felt that my poem was not as good as an experienced poetry writer. However I still tried it, as I began to write I began to think of what message the visual art poster conveyed to me, including what emotions it provoked. This is based on brand faith and credibility with costumers, affective commitment among employees and regulators, trust among suppliers and higher attractiveness for investors in general. Consequently it is important for organizations, to understand that CSR initiatives need to be communicated and transmitted to its group of interest. As Blomqvist and Posner (2004 cited in Comfort et al. 2007, pp.584) propose: Companies are losing out because there is often little or no integration between CSR and Marketing departments and their respective strategies and unless CSR becomes central to the Marketing director s agenda, it will not have the desired effect and can potentially create a backlash. Just before this gripping climax, however, Big Daddy has an emotional conversation with his youngest son, Brick, about mendacity. This term is central to the play s themes and is mentioned continuously throughout the play. Still, the lies and dishonesties come from many different entities within the play. The roots of most problems the characters face in the play come from mendacity within the society, their family and the characters themselves. Cat on a Hot Tin Roof is set in the 1950 s, a time when society still considered homosexuality as a mental disorder, as it was not removed from The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) until 1973 (Drescher). In the play, it is repeatedly mentioned that Brick and his deceased friend Skipper may have had feelings for each other that were deeper than those ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. What You Don t Know Might Kill You What You Don t Know Might Kill You Millions of Americans wake up every morning and make a decision about what they will eat for breakfast to jump start their day. Some may reach for a bowl of Cheerios or multigrain cereal, while others may opt for yogurt, toast, or a pastry. Some people choose to wash down their breakfast with pulp free orange juice, while some may drink a protein drink or an invigorating coffee to get them going. For lunch, many people will consume sandwiches piled high with meats and cheeses or perhaps a cheap meal from the nearest fast food restaurant. When it comes to dinner, this meal may vary from family to family, but most dinners consist of a starch or two, a kind of meat, some variation of a vegetable on a good day, and a dessert to finish out the day. People who regularly eat this way have more than just food in common. In fact, most people who constantly eat the previously mentioned American diet, suffer from some sort of physical, mental, or emotional illness, whether it be chronic headaches, poor gut health, obesity, diabetes, asthma, chronic fatigue, ADHD, anxiety, or any of the other thousands of health problems. Many people suffering from these illnesses are led to believe that there is no direct cure and that they will just have to cope with their illness. However, what most of those people do not realize is that many of the diseases they are plagued with are often caused by the chemicals that make up their food. Even if the chemicals do ... Summary Of The Of Khoja s Camel Belakane stomped through the twisting dirt paths that ran between the houses of Arjana, a mixture of fury and hunger making her dizzy and causing her vision to waver. They had looked at her with nothing but pity from the moment she arrived on the back of Khoja s camel. She was an undesirable, someone that they, in all their good grace, would be willing to bestow their charity upon. In Belakane s own village, it was a shameful thing to be so low as to be pitied. • 43. Descriptive Essay About Concert Over the last four years, I ve gone to over thirty concerts for artists whose genres range from pop, rap, and alternative. Since I m experienced with them, I m aware of the different price ranges and the stage performances. After my first concert, I started working so that I could afford to have concerts as a hobby. Even though I have gone to many different types of concerts, like pop, rap, and alternative, my favorite kind to experience are alternative concerts. My first concert was also my first time seeing a pop band. Every teenager loved One Direction, including me, and dreamed of seeing them live one day. This experience meant a lot to me since it was a band that I had loved for a very long time. The tickets were a gift from my mother, Melissa, and I went with my sister, Melisvette. During that, I realized how happy concerts made me and got a job so that I could continue experiencing moments like these. What I didn t want to experience, though, was the price it was to go to pop concerts. I wasn t worried about the price of tickets until I started paying for them myself. As a kid, I didn t contemplate the cost since my mother bought them as a present, but then I started to realize how ludicrous the prices could be. At the time, I was really into popular bands and artist, so the concerts were always expensive. I bought tickets to see popular artists like Demi Lovato, Fifth Harmony, and Twenty One Pilots, twice. These were the ones I spent the most money on and the seating was just not worth it. In 2014, I traveled to Cleveland, Ohio, to go to a Demi Lovato concert. This was the second pop concert I ve been to and the first time I traveled a few hours for a concert. At the time, I was still new to concerts, but I started to see a theme with pop concerts. They were always the most expensive compared to others and the seats were never that great. For Demi, I spent over $150 to sit in a seat that wasn t even close to her. Even though her concert meant a lot to me, because I looked up to Demi Lovato, I just found it unfair how expensive these kinds of concerts were. Compared to other concerts I ve been to; the popular artists were always the ones to put the least amount of effort into their performances. Their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Errors In The Alamo Movie The Alamo was one of the most important events in settling the land in the western part of the country. There are several movies about it but The Alamo 1960 is the movie used for this paper. This film did an okay job depicting what really happened in that two week siege from February 23, 1836 to March 6, 1836, so there were some historical errors in the movie. A couple of the errors in the movie is that the actual battle of the Alamo was fought at dawn when the enemies were asleep. Another was how the Mexican forces were shown as the ones that wanted the battle but in reality, they were the ones that were protecting what was theirs already. There were also some inaccuracies with individual characters and event leading up to the battle were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the movie, Colonel Fanin s men were killed before the battle. But in reality, they were killed after the battle so the only real reasonable way they never made it is because they didn t bring any supply wagons. Another error comes from one of the dresses that Susannah Dickinson wore, the dress has a zipper, it s not possible for her to have one on her dress since zipper weren t invented until 1914 and even after that they were never used on dresses until the late 1930s. Another factual mistake is how Bowie got a letter that his wife had died while he was away in the movie but in real life she had died in 1833 and the battle was in 1836. In real life, it was her sister that came and accompanied Bowie during his battle with the Mexicans. In the movie, Jim Bowie is hurt during the battle by an explosion and he shown trying to recover in a room on the bed. Common medications used for CRPS are steroids, blood pressure medication, antidepressants, corticosteroids, seizure medication, or opioids. Physical and occupational therapy are used to keep strength and mobility in the affected limb(s). It is important to keep the affected limb(s) moving because CRPS thrives on immobility. The value of our currency is most reflected in the price of the US dollar. This paper will therefore use the price of a US dollar in terms of Canadian dollars as the value of the Canadian dollar. In the previous section I assumed that the currency is flexible, that is to say that the price is based on foreign exchange market activity. It is however possible to fix the price of a currency at a particular level. In order to accomplish this, the central bank must be willing to buy or sell the perceived excesses of the market; i.e. the bank must buy or sell enough Canadian dollars so that the price remains stable. If such a practice becomes unsustainable the central must change the fixed price or move the peg. Such a system, known as the Breton Woods system was predominant in post world war II industrialized economies. However by the Nineteen sixties Canada, Canada like many other nations, moved to a flexible exchange rate system. It is important not to assume that because the currency is not officially fixed at some level, that the central bank does not play a role in determining its price. The central bank still intervenes in the market but not to hold the price at a certain level, but rather to prevent to price from fluctuating rapidly up or down. This type of exchange rate regime is known as a dirty float. Over this past decade, the value of a Canadian dollar has dropped nearly 25%. In 1990, a US dollar could be ...
