Examples Of Chivalry In King Arthur
When you think of a knight what comes to mind? They have to brave to fight off the bad guys.
They also have to he will to help the weak when in trouble. Finally they have to portray courage,
honor, and justice for the good. Knights are to do good for others and protects us just like heroes
or superheroes. Knights have certain morals that set them up to be able to become successful in
what they do. Kings hire knights to protect or fight for their kingdom, like soldiers do for America.
Britannica Elementary Encyclopedia says, The term chivalry came to mean the gallantry and honor
expected of knights. This basically says that knighthave things that are accepted of them to be a
knight, they have to follow these or they are not a true knight. There are six text that show
chivalry within them: King Arthur, Perceval, Green Knight, Iliad, Odyssey, Aeneid, Beowulf and
the song of Roland. King Arthur a boy who became king by pulling the sword out of the stone.
No man could do it but himself, he is the rightful king of England. Arthur shows chivalry by
going to war with his soldiers not many kings do that, they usually stay in the kingdom to not
fight and get killed. Other issue is when he doesn t back down from his son. He knows he will die,

Making a chivalrous decides he decides to stay and not run away from them just because they
want him dead. Roland also represents a knight by having religious beliefs for god, he gives his
loyalty and everything he has to his spiritual belief. The feudal system linked lords and vassals
with a series of obligations and loyalties. A vassal gave his total loyalty in exchange for protection
and vengeance should the vassal be killed in service of his lord. In The Song of Roland, vassalage
is depicted as parallel to Christianity. Roland s ultimate liege lord is God, and it is in serving
Charlemagne that Roland fulfills his duties as a

Russian Revolution Dbq
Research Question: Was the Russian Revolution a Successful Revolution?
The Russian Revolution of 1917 was unsuccessful because of how it did not accomplish the initial
goal of establishing communism, internal social and economic issues within Russia, detrimental
effects of rapid industrialisation and became the catalyst of a civil war. The defeat in war against
Japan, in 1905, led to increased opposition to the Tsar, who was viewed as incompetent. The war
was also important in intensifying and worsening longer term social and economic problems, as it
caused food shortages, high prices and unemployment the factors which motivated many to take
part in the march on the Winter palace that resulted in Bloody Sunday (Document A). The Tsar was

Due to Russia s sheer amount of citizens in the country, it resulted in a overcrowded society,
poor housing along with poor living and working conditions (created by economic problems in
Russia) led to social tension in cities. In terms of land and agriculture, the Russians had methods
that were inefficient and backwards as they still used wooden ploughs and very few animals and
tools. With not enough land to go around (due to the controlling of private property), vast
expansion of peasant population in the later half of the 19th century led to overcrowding and
competition for land. The diverse people of Russia desperately needed a social reform. With peace
established with Germany, the of lack of a compete control over the country then led to the civil
war immediately after the Bolsheviks assumed power. The Reds (communists) and the Whites (anti
communists, Capitalists, western forces) fought a series of battles that resulted in countless deaths.
The White forces received support from the Western Allies during the internal war. The United
States, England and Canada had contingents of men inside of Russia initially to guard supplies they
had sent during the war, but they were in a position to fight if their governments thought necessary.
The Red Army was able to defeat the much larger White armies over the course of the three year

Free Cash Flow
Free cash flow
In corporate finance, free cash flow (FCF) is cash flow available for distribution among all the
securities holders of an organization. They include equity holders, debt holders, preferred stock
holders, convertible security holders, and so on.
G. Bennett Stewart the economic model of value holds that share prices are determined by just two
things: the cash to be generated over the lifetime of a business and the risk of the cash receipts .
GSB (1990), The Quest for Value

Haier, Taking a Chinese Company Global
HAIER, TAKING A CHINESE COMPANY GLOBAL 1. SUMMARY
Haier ( the Company ) was China s biggest white goods producer and supplier in 1990s. In 1984,
there was nearly 300 local producers in China market, most of which were producing poor quality
goods. However, customers were willing to pay more for higher quality products and reliable
service. This need created an advantage for differentiation.
In Chinese market, demand was high. Haier being able to read customer need properly, focused on
Product Quality, After Sale Services and BrandBuilding. While there was oversupply in the
market, with product differentiation Haier was able to raise its prices. Their target was to be a first
class brand.

He named the strategy as Three Thirds , with a long term goal of generating revenues from three
different categories of sales; 1. One third from goods produced and sold in China. 2. One third
produced in China, and sold overseas. 3. One third produced and sold overseas.
In other words, with this Global Strategy, Haier entered into international markets in 3 different
ways; 1. It first exported to global markets, 2. Then established JV ( Joint Ventures ) with the local
firms and, 3. Finally made investments and set up production facilities overseas, in global markets.
Haiser entered into overseas markets as a contract manufacturer for multinational brands in early
1990s. First exported products to UK, then Germany, France and Italy. It also establisted joint
ventures to explore the foreign markets; i.e. established a JV with Mitsubishi to set up China s
largest AC ( air conditioners ) production plant in 1994, in 1995 set up a JV with a local firm in
India to produce refrigerators and ACs, in 1997 establised a JV with a Yugoslav company in
Belgrade to produce ACs.
In line with the expansion strategy, Haier made a technology licence agreement with a German
manufacturer Liebherr, realizing that the German goods are of higher quality. The Company

Identity Crisis In The Color Of Water
While reading this novel, many themes crossed my mind, but the one that I found the most
important was Identity Crisis. James, the author of The Color of Water, wrote about how he
struggled with knowing who he was and what his purpose in life was.
James wasn t sure what race he was. He was confused due to the fact that his mother was white,
and he was white. His mother and him shared a conversation about the color of water. His mother,
Ruth, compared peoples races to the clearness of water. His mother quotes, God is the color of
water. Water doesn t have a color, (51). I think that this means that God is a million different
colors, and if you think about it, water s color changes due to its surroundings. Another example
on how the title of the book relates to James and his identity problems, is that water moves with
what s around it. During the winter it freezes and during the summer it s filled with fish. When
you picture a stream, do you see it ever stopping? That s because it doesn t.. Streams go on and on

One, for example, is childhood and/or parenting. I interviewed my mother, Amy, and asked her a
few questions about her life as a childhood, and she viewed her parents. Just by asking her about
some of her mistakes she made, how respected she was, how she viewed her parents, how her
parents treated her when she was a kid, and some of the difficulties that she faces as a parent.
The first question I asked was how has your parents treating you through your early years,
changed the way you parent your own children now? My mom s first response was that she tries
to be a little less controlling than her mother was to her. She had no freedom when she was
younger, so she tries to let my siblings and I have a little more room to wiggle. We have Dahl

The DSM-5 Diagnostic Analysis
While the DSM 5 remains largely based on categorical nosology, the introduction acknowledges
the need for a more dimensional approach (APA, 2013). In fact, the DSM 5 task force and work
groups were instructed to consider empirically based guidelines to improve dimensional aspects of
disorder categorization such as: shared neural substrates, biomarkers, family traits, course of illness,
high comorbidity, genetic risk factors, and shared treatment response. While the DSM 5 task force
ultimately decided that it was scientifically premature to transition to a completely dimensional
diagnostic system that would have in effect changed the requirements for most disorders, the
current edition serves as a transitional guideline to new diagnostic approaches without dramatically
disrupting current clinical practice/research (APA, 2013). Dimensional approaches can be observed
throughout the DSM 5 through the consolidation of related disorders, Section III additions, and
supplemental online materials. Consolidation of Disorders. The DSM 5 contains reorganized,
consolidated, and clarified content to adhere more relevantly to clinical practice. This included the
consolidation of autism disorder, Asperger s syndrome, and pervasive developmental disorder

DSM 5 states that symptoms attributed to autism disorder, Asperger s syndrome, and PDD fall
along a single continuum of impairments across the domains of social communication and
restrictive/repetitive behaviors/interests. Rather than being considered distinct disorders,
individuals meet criteria for autism spectrum disorder (ASD) with specification of severity (mild to
severe). DSM 5 asserts that this modification serves to improve sensitivity and specificity in the
diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (APA, 2013; McPartland, Reichow, Volkmar, 2012).
Improved diagnostics will ultimately lead to increasingly focused treatment targets related to

The Odyssey and Its Themes
The Odyssey and Its Themes
Homer #8217;s great literary classic, The Odyssey, represents and illustrates many emotional and
mental values. All of these values can be classified under three different main themes that are
constant throughout the epic tale. These themes are: A boy #8217;s struggle to be a man, a king
#8217;s struggle to reclaim his kingdom, and a man #8217;s struggle to return home. As one reads
this book it will become more and more evident to them that a man #8217;s struggle to get home is
the most important theme throughout Homer #8217;s adventure. In The Odyssey, Odysseus
#8217;s longing for his home and family is what drives the story. That is his one goal in the entire
book, and that really states something ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

and caught two in his hands like squirming puppies to beat their brains out, spattering the floor.
Then he dismembered them and made his meal #8230; #8221; This descriptive brutality shows
you just how much a gigantic, intimidating obstacle Polyphemus was. Another one of these
obstacles was Scylla. Scylla #8217;s attack was described in lines 1338 1343. #8220; Then
Scylla made her strike, whisking six of my best men from the ship. I happened to glance aft at
ship and oarsmen and caught sight of their arms and legs dangling high overhead. #8221; This is
yet another grim reminder of just how determined Odysseus is to get to his home and family.
Throughout The Odyssey, Odysseus is warned many times of the perils and difficulty of his
journey. All through these times it seems that Odysseus will never get home, but he never loses
hope. In Book 11, Odysseus ventures into hell to meet with the great prophet, Teiresias. Teiresias

his head. #8220; #8230;and thou art father: grant that Odysseus, raider of cities, never see his

Overview of Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
Pride and Prejudice is a novel written by Jane Austen. Jane Austen is an 18th 19th century
English novelist. The novel was published in 1813. Millions of copies of the novel have been
sold over the years. The novel has many adaptations including the popular 1995 BBC television
version starring Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle. This 1995 version stays true to the original story.
The conflict facing the main character was a common one in the 19th century; women who lacked
a fortune needed to marry well (in other words marry a rich gentleman regardless of love). This is
exactly the position in which the novel s protagonist, Elizabeth Bennet, finds herself. Elizabeth is

how ardently I admire and love you. Elizabeth is shocked and surprised; then refuses him. She

sister. Darcy s response, And this is your opinion of me! You could not have made the offer of

following day Darcy gives Elizabeth a letter containing his honest and truthful accounts of the
two situations that she accused him of. First, he explained that Wickham is a liar, gambler, and
tried to elope with Darcy s sister (who was only 15 yrs. old at the time). Second, Darcy believed
Jane was only after his money and thought he was saving his friend from making a terrible
mistake. Elizabeth feels remorse now for unjustly accusing him without proof. Time passes and

Texas Textbook Controversy
Texas textbook controversy Analysis

Abstract:
Ever since the 1960s, the Texas textbook controversy has had an issue in America. The Texasschool
board is meeting to make revisions to their textbooks and curriculum. But are they also revising
history? Educators across the country are watching to see the effect this issue will have on students.
The choices the board members are making will affect politics, religion, monies spent thru out the
Texas school system. Christian conservatives on the state education board want curriculum

All of which plus a natural supply of political eccentrics helps explain how Texas once had a board
member who believed that public schools are the tool of the devil.
Texas originally acquired its power over the nation s textbook supply because it paid 100 percent
of the cost of all public school textbooks, as long as the books in question came from a very short
list of board approved options. The selection process was grueling and tension filled, said Julie
McGee, who worked at high levels in several publishing houses before her retirement. If you
didn t get listed by the state, you got nothing. On the other side of the coin, David Anderson, who
once sold textbooks in the state, said that if a book made the list, even a fairly mediocre
salesperson could count on doing pretty well. The books on the Texas list were likely to be mass
produced by the publisher in anticipation of those sales, so other states liked to buy them and take
advantage of the economies of scale.
What happens in Texas doesn t stay in Texas when it comes to textbooks, said Dan Quinn, who
worked as an editor of social studies textbooks before joining the Texas Freedom Network, which
was founded by Governor Ann Richards s daughter, Cecile, to counter the religious right.
The cost for the Texas textbooks?
As a market, the state was so big and influential that national publishers tended to gear their books
toward whatever it wanted. Back in

My Passion For Cooking Essay
I ve always had a passion for cooking. When I was a little girl I loved to cook and enjoyed learning
about all sort of cuisines. Today, I am still in the kitchen and every chance I get, I cook. Some days
it isn t even fancy or a hard recipe. Some days it s a classic, but something that I ve created. Cooking
is my time to be me. It s the art form I pride myself at being good at and I don t have to try (unlike
drawing...not so good at that!). Like a child getting a new toy, I get excited when I discover new
foods and ingredients. My mind feels at home when it s in the process of creating in the kitchen.
It s fun getting the ingredients, piling them all on the counter, then chopping, stirring, adding a
pinch of this and a splash of that. Then I have to wait for everything to cook. Finally the reward
of my creativity is taken out of the oven and placed on a plate. The creative work I ve done is fully
realized when I can share my work with others.
Cooking is pure joy and fun for me. I cook as a way to ground myself, to think clearly and to relax
for a change. I enjoy researching ingredients I ve never heard of before, what pairs best with this
spice or that vegetable. When someone strikes up a conversation with me about cooking, I could
go on for hours, so be prepared! Through cuts, burns, failed recipes, forgotten ingredients, I still
find joy in the art of cooking. Losing this passion would surely be like losing myself.
As a way to challenge myself, I started selling

The Donner Party In The 1800 s
In the early 1800 s, the United States had an escalating number of settlers looking to conquer and
create new lives in the West. Many also joined the movement inspired by Manifest Destiny, the
idea that the land between the Atlantic and Pacific was American therefore should be established
by settlers. A group traveling westward as part of the movement in 1846 suffered sorrow at every
turn consequently ending in the 34 casualties of 87 original settlers. This group was led by Jacob
and George Donner, later the pioneers inherited the name the Donner Party. In the Spring of 1846
the settlers left Springfield, Illinois and pursued a route that was supposedly a shorter course for
California. After multiple delays the Donner Party became caught in many snowstorms high in the
Sierra Nevada Mountains. As a result the group reduced to cannibalism to survive the harsh
winters. Despite the dangerous trek ahead, the Donner Party traveled westward in hopes of

Multiple farmers, families, and traders searched for land to create new homes and better lives.
The land in the new areas was often cheap, fertile and came in large quantities, this was a bargain
deal in comparison to the costly land in the East.. Many farmers were having hard economic
times and always looked west for new land and the next frontier (Early Days of California, 1).
The low cost or sometimes free land was convenient to farmers in search of supporting their

therefore appealing to merchants, farmers, and even entrepreneurs. Additionally to settling in fertile

The Biological Basis Toward Sexual Orientation
The world has come very far with all the dramatic changes we have faced over the years. Wouldn t
you agree? As much change as the world has been through there are still numerous social problems
that still exist in society today. Amongst those numerous social problems, sexual orientation and
inequality stand out to me. Research from biology, psychology, and sociology is where our
understanding of sexual orientationcomes from. There are two hypothetical theories researchers
have discovered examining the biological basis toward sexual orientation. One concept is the
neurohormonal theory, biologist contend that homosexualityis caused by abnormal sex hormone
levels in utero. The alternative theory is based on behavioral genetics, determining the source and
magnitude of genetic impact on sexual orientation. This theory suggested the concept that gay men
were genetically female. Later this theory was proven to be false. Homosexuality was considered
as a pathology or mental illness. Not every psychologists agreed with that perspective. A researcher
by the name of Havelock Ellis stated that homosexuality was congenital and for that reason it could
not be considered as a disease. Sigmund Freud another theorist had the concept that everyone is
born bisexual and that either homosexuality or heterosexuality is developed through social and
personal experience. Ellis and Freud both concurred that homosexuality was not a mental illness.
Despite these researchers opinions in 1973,

Pierre-Auguste Renoir Essay
Pierre Auguste Renoir
Pierre Auguste Renoir was born in 1841 to a tailor and dressmaker. He attended a Christian
Brother s School where he was taught the rudiments of drawing. At the age of 13 he was
apprenticed to a firm of porcelain painters, Levy Freres et Compagnie, whose workshops were near
the Louvre. At the same time, he took drawing lessons from the sculptor Callouette. After serving
his apprenticeship as a porcelain painter, he worked for a M. Gilbert, a manufacturer of blinds. In
1860 he became a student of Charles Gleyre and enrolled at the Ecole des Beaux Arts. In April,
1864 he came out 10th of 106th candidates in a sculpture and drawing examination there.

He had become averse to the depiction of the ephemeral, of the fleeting moment, and started to seek
the art of the museums . It is in the museum that one must learn to paint. One must make the
paintings of one s own time, but it is there in the museum that one develops the taste for painting,
which nature alone cannot provide. The most spectacular example of the influence of Italian art on
Renoir can be found in The Bathers. The hardness of outline, the smooth glossy texture and clarity
of colour are the grounding for The Bathers. This can be considered his classical phase.
Renoir was a remarkably versatile artist, his work ranged from portraits and scenes of Parisian
life to landscapes and eventually nudes. An interest in sculpture was sparked in 1906, when a
bust was made of him by Mailloll. In 1913 Renoir employed 23 year old Richard Guino as his
teacher and assistant, and his collaboration with Guinno produced 14 figures and bas reliefs.
Renior was blatantly anti Semitic, strongly believed in the panacea like benefits of religion, and
felt that Education is the downfall of the working classes . His attitude toward women hardly
coincides with the adoration of their beauty expressed in his paintings. He regarded the inferiority
of women as axiomatic. His son Jean said that he once

Symbolism in Lord of the Flies by William Golding
Gonzalo Barril Merino 3EMC Lord of the Flies Essay Describe the use of symbolism in Lord of
the Flies By understanding symbols, you get a better picture of the novel Lord of the Flies and the
hidden messages and references to human nature and a criticism of society. The author, William
Golding, uses a huge amount of symbolism to reflect society of the outer world with the island.
Symbols of fire, the conch and water are described all throughout the novel. Fire represents hope,
strength and knowledge, but it also represents disorder and destruction, switching from good and
useful to evil and uncontrollable. The conch, a precious shining pink shell, found by Piggy, rescued
by Ralph, and later given to Piggy to hold, represents... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Rain generates tension and also influences the kids to take bad decisions and act by their
instincts. Ralph dislikes rain; he stated he didn t like clouds, because it reminded him of the day
the landed on the island. Rain is a symbol of tension and discomfort, because kids feel strange
when the rain falls of they re reminded of it, for example, in the second chapter, when Piggy
shouts to the kids because they ran straight to make the fire instead of thinking in shelters. Finally,
during Simon s death scene, waterfalls of rain descended from the clouds, generating even more
tension. This tension generated Simon s death, and the kids negating they participated. Symbols
are necessary to understand Lord of the Flies, because the author makes a complex description of
society and human nature, reflecting it in symbols and characters. The conch represents
democracy, and the civilized part of human nature; the fire represents power and destruction, and
the savage part of human nature; and finally water, that represents an intermediate state.
Personally, Lord of the flies is a novel I wouldn t have understood completely if it weren t for the
classes dedicated to analyze the book and it secret meanings and messages. I would just have read
it as a common book, without analyzing how society is

Enoxaparin is a highly acidic mucopolysaccharide. It is an anticoagulant drug that is used primarily
for prophylaxis of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or for patients that exhibit pulmonary embolism
(PE) that have underwent specific surgery. Enoxaparin functions as a serine type endopeptidase
inhibitor and targets antithrombin III. It binds to it and creates a vertex that irreversibly inactivates
clotting factor Xa. Enoxaparin binding to antithrombin III also accelerates the activity of
antithrombin III which is a serine protease inhibitor that modulates the activation of blood
coagulation. Enoxaparin inhibits the production of prothrombin to thrombin. Antithrombin III
inhibits thrombin, factors Xa, IXa, and XIa, as well as matripatase 3/TMPRSS7. With the presence
of enoxaparin its inhibitory activity is increased greatly. With the Xa being catalyzed by the
attachment of enoxaparin, the translation of prothrombin to thrombin is decreased.

Binge Eating in Non-Western Cultures
Literature regarding eating disorders in non Western cultures in general is scarce. Very few studies
address disordered eating in cultures outside of the Western and Westernized world. This could be
because of the perceived lack of eating disorders in non industrialized countries or even because
there is an overwhelming amount of concern over eating disorders in Western society. However,
there have been several studies done on binge eating and dietary restraint in non western citizens
and in non Caucasian women in the United States. Women who are not from a Caucasian
background face different societal and traditional pressures than do Caucasian women in Western
cultures, but some of the women in those cultures were found to have binge... Show more content

A major way in which they express this negative self perception is to restrain their diets or binge
eat (Eating Disorders Review, 2007, 5). Many cultures idealize robust women and practice feasting
as a common social practice. However, women feel pressured by the stick thin images they see on
Western influenced television advertisements to lose weight or look more conventionally attractive
by Western standards. They feel torn between participating in their traditional custom and looking
like the women they see idealized in the media. They feel guilt and embarrassment about overeating
but participate in it as part of the cultural norm. (Becker, 2003, 430)
Women who feel shame about eating are also less likely to seek help for their eating disorders, and
this shame has been found to be more prevalent in women from non Western ethnicities living in the
Western world. Women from different ethnicities experience guilt and a fear of losing control
while eating at different levels. Asian and Native American women are the most likely to feel
embarrassed about overeating or losing control while eating (Eating Disorders Review, 2007, 5).
They are therefore the least likely to seek help for their binge eating disorders. Healthcare providers
should take ethnicity into account when determining causal factors of binge eating in women from
Asian and Native American cultures because they are more

The Arnolfini Portrait
The Arnolfini Portrait is a very cleverly composed single picture story. Various singular objects,
depicted within the image, all of which contain an individual meaning/symbol. For example, the
oranges within the painting display the couple s wealth, for such a fruit would have to been
imported during the times the wedding took place and would cost a small fortune to purchase.
Two pairs of wooden shoes can also be seen in the image, one a bright ruby red the same as that
of the bedding and couch symbolizing fertility, the other plain and wooden representing
faithfulness. Both, bride and groom, depicted can be seen with pale skin draped in lavish furs, the
bride also displaying a high forehead and wrapped in a blue underdress. This not only

Dangerous Waters In 2006, a mortgage broker in his 30s fell into a harbor in Hawaii six day
after a sewage pipe failure had allowed 48 million gallons of sewage to flow into the harbor water.
The man was admitted to the hospital, and within days he died from massive organ failure caused
by septicemia. The man had a bacterial infection called Vibrio vulnificus.
In order to diagnose this patient with this bacterium, I would place an order for a blood culture.

Designing A Whole New Ultra Poreux Cellulose Based Material
Recent years witnessed a momentum of consumers towards products biodegradable and designed
according to more environmentally friendly ways of the environment. On the other hand, the
increase in the price of oil and its scarcity helped bringing forward new products of natural origin.
The objective of this article which is part of this perspective is to prepare and characterize a whole
new ultra poreux cellulosebased material, called aerogel.
Even if their discovery date of the beginning of the 1930s by Kristler, aerogels are considered at
present the most promising new materials in the field of thermal super insulation. Not happy to be
the subject of much research in this area, their high level of nanoporosite characteristic makes them
indispensable in the development of batteries to fuel. The multitude of organic, inorganic or hybrid
materials, and the appearance of new methods of preparation and extraction offer prospects for use
in filtering system, ultrafine dust capture...
Aerogels can be inorganic (silica based) or organic (example of resorcinol formaldehyde). They
have a very low thermal conductivity, and are often super insulation, but they are relatively
fragile (silica aerogel) or toxic (organic aerogels). A new avenue of research was recently
conducted in the aim of developing type aerogels materials bio sources and super insulation. Thus
aerogels made from cellulose or derivatives, or other polysaccharides were investigated (for

Brave New World Satire Analysis
In Aldous Huxley s Brave New World, satire is used to show how ridiculous modern society was
in the 1930s. Huxley refers to a variety of themes, ranging from the decay of morals and culture
to drug dependency to brainwashing to others. Huxley also speaks of how the world in the
1930s is getting too liberal, nobody cares about each other, and how if you have a problem you
can just take drugs until it is no longer a problem. The main thing Huxley speaks about is moral
and cultural decay in modern society. chaps 16 and 18. Nobody cares about history or each

pleasure....The children started, screamed; their faces were distorted with terror. (ch2, pg 20 1)
The author is drawing a sharp mental image of pain and suffering here, possibly regarding what
it was like to be a child at the time the story was written. The author is showing how little people
care about the babies themselves in both of those quotes. No sane person would find it okay to
torture babies. When Mustapha Mond said You all remember, I suppose, that beautiful and

of details and symbolism that focuses on the claim of Indigenas and on the social classes.
For this reason, is important know that the mural was painted during the presidency of Miguel
Aleman in Mexico. This period was relevant because he fought against the social classes such as
Diego Rivera. He was also interested in the equality between the workers and entrepreneurs.
Another important event was the reform of the third article in the constitution. In consequence, a
lot of places like Bellas Artes and other important culture centers was remodeled and opened for all
the people. Also, this reform prevented and combated the illiteracy in Mexico. The liberty of

China s Trade Imbalance With A Firm Level Data Set...
Measuring the magnitude of exchange rate pass through for Chinese exports is all the more
relevant because China s trade imbalance with richer trading partners, notably the United States,
is often perceived as exacerbated by exchange rate manipulations. Many indeed argue that an
appreciation of the renminbi would help rebalance China s trade. While the RMB was pegged to
the U.S. dollar until July 2005, Tang and Zhang (2014) noted that there were significant
fluctuations in real terms from an appreciation of 9% from 2000 to 2001 to a depreciation of
17% from early 2005. The extent of its trade s response to a change in the exchange rate however
depends on the magnitude of the ERPT and on the price elasticity of Chinese exports and imports....

They also find that the reaction of the Chinese exporting firms depends on their productivity levels:
high productivity firms tend to adjust their export prices, while low productivity firms tend to adjust
their export volumes. HГ©ricourt and Poncet (2015) also find that exchange rate volatility reduces
a firm s decision to export and the value of these exports, but that these negative impacts can be
mitigated with the existence to well developed financial markets.
Our paper contributes to the literature on ERPT for Chinese exports by testing for heterogeneity
in Chinese firms responses to changes in exchange rate. The main data source is a database
collected by the Chinese Customs. It contains Chinese firm level export flows by year, product,
custom regime, firm type, and destination country, over the years 2000 2006. One distinctive
characteristic of China s trade lies in the importance of processing trade in total exports. From
2000 to 2006 the share of processing trade in total export exceeded 50%.
Using micro level data allows us to circumvent some empirical issues one would face when
estimating the ERPT with aggregate price data . First, we can treat changes in the exchange rate
as exogenous (Feinberg, 1996). Second, using aggregate price indices to measure ERPT might
lead to some bias in the estimation, as prices of many goods do not change during these goods
lifetime. Kim et al. (2013) indeed

Eukaryotic Vs. Eukaryotic Cells
Eukaryotes and prokaryotes
There are only two types of cell in the world, these are eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells. They are
both similar and different in many ways, for example prokaryotes are only a few micrometres in
size whereas eukaryotes are between 5 100 micrometres and nearly 10,000 times the volume of
that of a prokaryote. A chemical similarity between the two is that they both either contain or use
proteins, carbohydrates, lipids and nucleic acids to store or create energy. Both eukaryotes and
prokaryotes are able to be divided into further subcategories, eukaryotes can be either animal or
plant cells, and prokaryotes can be classified based on the composition of their cell wall, for
example bacteria. In this essay I will also go on to talk about why prokaryotic cells still exist in the
microscopic world even though eukaryotes are so much more advanced.
Eukaryotic cells
Eukaryotic cells make up many different living organisms, all animals and plants are made up of
these cells. They have a much more complex structure and can thus carry out many more
complicated functions than prokaryotic cells can. They are usually around 5 100Ојm in size which
allows them to contain many organelles, which for cells with specific functions, such as plant leaf
cells, they are able to contain many more chloroplasts. They divide via mitosis or meiosis, where
mitosis produces two new identical nuclei, and meiosis is when the cells split to produce two new
cells with half the number of

Polymers in the recycled plastics
Plastic Bottles
Plastic bottles contains a polyester known as Polythene terephthalate( Azapagic et al.2003).The
polythene terephthalate is used in making the plastic bottles since it has a strong ability to create a
gas barrier so that oxygen get into the drink and spoil it.
Plastic bags, shampoo bottles and milk jugs
Plastic bags as well as shampoo containers are made up of high density polyethylene (HDPE). The
HDPE is used in making the plastic bag and shampoo containers since it has long virtuality and
unbranched polymer chains which make it more dense as well as very crystalline hence stronger
(Nicholson 1997). The HDPE is stiff, strong, tough as well as resistant to moisture.
Plastic wraps
Plastic wraps comprises of low density polyethylene(LDPE). The LDPE polymers have a crucial
chain branching comprising extended side restraints hence being less density as well as less
crystalline. As a result, the polymer is more thin as well as flexible.

by the Nazis during Hitler dictatorship. It all began when Hitler was given the opportunity by
Hindenburg to be Germany s chancellor on January 30, 1933. This opportunity turned in an
abuse of power, in fact Hitler governed Germany according to his belief. Hitler, and the Nazis
more in general, strongly believed in the German biological superiority. According to the article
Before Germans Slaughtered Jews They Slaughtered Africans , a mixed society in Germany was
seen as a threat to the national s identity. Jews, in particular, were considered sub human. For this
reason, under Hitler s Nazi regime, they were treated as animal or way differently from Germans.
But the separation occurred gradually; in fact, at the beginning of his governance, Jews had to
leave their homes and were placed in assigned ghettos where little or no food was available to
them. As months passed, ulterior separations occurred. Old

The General Strain Theory By Robert Merton
The General Strain Theory Susan Smith
In 1995, a very heinous, mysterious crime was committed the murder of two innocent boys by their
mother. This crime was thought to be completely unexplainable. This mother convinced America
that a black man had stole her car and kidnapped her children. Little did we know this suicidal
woman would be capable of committing such a crime. There are many theories that you can apply
to this case. However the theory that fits it most closely is the general strain theory.
The General Strain theory is an evolved theory of strain theory created by Robert Merton, which
was an adapted version of Anomie. Anomie is a sort of psychological state of confusion in which
an individual observes a conflict between the prescribed and commonplace social goals and the
culturally acceptable legitimate ways to pursue those goals. (Kapelos Peters, 2008). In simpler
terms when someone is not doing what is socially acceptable because they re are confused. The

The Out Of Body Experiences
Out of Body Experiences Out of Body Research Foundation noted Stephanie C Experiences on
April 25/2016 I remember drowning somehow (I think by a lake or river or something) and
eventually knowing I had passed. All of a sudden I felt an out of body experience and like I was
being lifted up through a vortex. A very intense vortex, it felt like I was going at least 100 mph.
The scenery looked like bright light and like I was passing through a bunch of stars. The vortex
eventually stopped however, and then my out of body experience occurred (OBERF, 2016). .
Out of body experiences are a process that focuses on the feeling of floating outside one s body,
and some cases, the feeling of perceiving one s physical body as if from a place outside one s
body (Brugger Mohr, 2009, p. 137). Out of body experiences may refer to astral projections or

marketing strategy used in the ad was using fear. The ad seemed to be designed to invoke a sense

would be the perfect solution to subside those fears of the unknown. Additionally, Credit Sesame
seems to be using the marketing strategy of repetition. With the commercial being only thirty

The Hauptmann Trial Aka The Lindbergh Trial
Hauptmann Trial aka The Lindbergh Trial The Lindberg trial was referred to as the trial of the
century because of the events that took place with Charles Augustus Lindbergh. He was a victim
to a crime that tore one of his families apart. Lindbergh was known as the American Hero and or
the Aviation Hero , and later on, as the National Villain because of the close proximity he had

considered him a hero, others considered him the the true meaning of a man and some didn t think
much of him other than that he was involved with the Nazis and was a Good riddance. [2] In
1932, Charles Jr., Charles and Anne Lindbergh s two year old son was kidnapped from their house
with a poorly written note left behind, demanding for a ransom. The note had some markings such
as a hieroglyphic letter in red and blue, three holes punched through the paper at the bottom of the
page and next to it the kidnapper stating that he left the marks intentionally as an indication for
future letters that were yet to come. In the following month of the kidnapping, nine ransom notes
were delivered to the Lindbergh s through other third parties. After going back and forth with the

El Salvadorin 1944 due to a lack of priests. He initially served as pastor, but because of his
outstanding talent, he was marked for greater responsibilities. In 1970, he became the auxiliary

In 1989, director John Duigan created a spectacular film, which was called Romero. This film
was created to depict Г“scar Romero s organizing peaceful protests against a violent military
regime, as well as his death. Г“scar Romero used his voice of power in the Church and in the
country to speak up for the poor. When important political figures in the country told him to be
quiet and to stop speaking out against these injustices, he refused, often putting his own body in
between his people and their perpetrators. His defense of the Salvadoran people was very
effective in protecting them from the senseless violence and oppression by the Salvadoran
government. He was truly a hero. He advocated human rights without the use of violence or
harm to others, he used his voice to bring justice to the citizens of El Salvador. He should be
remembered as a strong willed advocate. Г“scar Romero did not give up, As a Christian, he
remarked on one such occasion, I do not believe in death without resurrection. If they kill me, I
shall rise again in the Salvadoran people (UN). Oscar Romero had a tremendous impact in El
Salvador, in the rest of Latin America, and in the rest of the world. His passion for justice fueled
a revolution in El Salvador that protected and gave a voice to the oppressed of El Salvador. Latin
Americans throughout the rest of Central and South America hail Romero as a leader, a saint, and
an example of how to live out one s faith in the face

Summary Of Mut-OX In A549 Cells
In this SA, we will study translocation of DNA damage repair proteins from the cytoplasm to
mitochondria in response to mtDNA damage induced by mt OX in A549 cells. We will treat
A549 cells with mt OX as mentioned in SA#...., followed by using a SILAC method as described
above. We will perform differential ultracentrifugation to isolate cellular fractions as previously
described (18). The purity of cytoplasmic and mitochondrial fractions will be assessed by western
blotting using IОєB О± and Tom20 markers, respectively. We expect that mtDNA damage induced
by mt OX will cause translocation of DNArepair proteins from the cytoplasm to mitochondria.
Moreover, it was reported that more than 30 posttranslational modifications including the most...

to determine viability, amount of mitochondria, and mtDNA damage by RT PCR. Relative levels
of mtDNA damage will be evaluated by a quantitative method using amplification of mtDNA
fragments of different lengths. Results will be presented as a ratio of long versus short fragments
as shown in Fig. 10 (13, 14).
Studies in human primary ATII cells: We will assess the function of identified translocated
mitochondrial proteins in human ATII cells. We will validate obtained results using these unique
cells isolated from control lung donors and patients with emphysema. We found in our preliminary
data that ATII cells isolated from individuals with this disease have more mtDNA damage and less
mitochondria amount than controls (Fig. 10). We will check expression of identified proteins and
genes by western blotting and RT PCR, respectively in cytoplasmic and mitochondrial fractions. We
expect to identify dysregulated proteins which are involved in mtDNA damage repair in primary
ATII cells isolated from patients with emphysema.
We will also knockdown identified genes in control ATII cells using Sendai virus strategy as
previously reported (21) followed by treatment with mt OX as described in SA#1.1. We will also
overexpress selected genes using adenovirus construct as we previously reported (7) to complement
this study. Moreover, we will analyze mtDNA damage and mitochondria amount as mentioned in
SA#..... We expect to detect high sensitivity of mtDNA to damage induced

The International Table Tennis Federation
Table tennis is characterized by numerous rules that govern how the game should be played. The
game is mainly characterized by exceptionally fast reactions thereby making rules quite necessary.
Players must allow the ball to bounce once on their side of the court before returning it to the
opposite end. The initial serve is, however, exempted from this requirement. Points are scored if a
team fails to keep the ball in play. The International Table Tennis
Federation (ITTF) instituted some
key changes in the rules of the game following the 2000 Olympics games, which were held in
Sidney, Australia. The amendments were mainly aimed at enhancing the game s viability as a
spectator sport that could be televised. Among the new changes was the increasing of the ball s
diameter to 40 millimeters. Soon thereafter, the ITTF changed the game s scoring system from 21
point to 11 point system (International Table Tennis Federation
, 2014). The serve rotation was also
brought down from five points to two. Soon thereafter, the global federation of the game changed
the rules and effectively prohibited players from hiding balls during service. In keeping with the
sport s spirit of fairness, the rules cushions opponents from being caught by surprise. Rules require
that the ball must be tossed a minimum of 16 centimeters in the air before being served. There are
rules governing the course of events during a match including which team takes the first serve. In
order to highlight the numerous

A Study On High School
High school senior Timothy Williams woke to the sound of wind scraping the desert sand across a
glass pane of his third floor Samarra Hotel room. In the pitch black room, he rolled over to see the
nightstand. A digital clock showed the current time at 9:37AM.
Tim thought to himself, Shit!
Their buffet breakfast began at nine.
They were running late.
Tim hated the thought for being late, for anything.
Tim pushed his back upwardly, propping up his elbows to survey his modest surroundings. The
Hotel Samarra room had two twin beds, divided by a nightstand and a wobbly brass lamp. A
dresser sat nearby the foot of Tim s bed with a 1980 s Sylvania TV/VCR combo set. Across from
the dresser was a raggedy desk and chair, nearest the entrance.
It reminded Williams of a motel accommodation. Which was fine, he just hoped that the Minister
Mike s New Oasis Church wasn t paying big bucks for such arrangements, although the Hotel
boasted its safety.
Tim pondered, Could anyone actually be safe in this place?
However, the darkness outside made Tim s mind questioned to himself, Was this an eclipse?
Or am I m dreaming?
Or is the time off?
Another gust pelted the glass. This time it caused his roommate, Kwan Shin, to moan from his deep
slumber.
Kwan turned over to face Tim s direction.
Shin s plump limbs were tangled among linen.
That noise. Please. Stop it, Kwan spoke, half asleep.
Tim rose from his bed wearing his gray cotton shorts, while his brother s dog tags and stainless

We Must Make Virtual Child Pornography Illegal Essay
The Supreme Court lifted a 1996 act banning virtual child pornography. The six to three ruling, led
by Justice Anthony Kennedy, says the law violates First Amendment freedom of speech rights
guaranteed to every citizen of the United States of America. Although many free speech advocates
are shouting victory, many citizens across the country are lamenting over the loss in the fightagainst
child pornography.
Child pornography has been present in society for centuries, but has only recently become more
accessible through the development of the printing press and subsequently, the technology of the
Internet. Until the mid 1990s, illegal child pornography [had only] involved depictions of actual
children engaged in sexually explicit ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Quick to validate the new law, Congress proclaimed that child pornography is often used as part of
a method of seducing other children into sexual activity (Slade). Congress further went on to say
that with recent technology, having the ability to alter and enhance sexually exploitive images
might render enforcement against pornography using real children impossible because determining
real pictures from enhanced picture had the probability of being a very daunting and challenging
task. This strengthened the government s argument that the law had a significant potential to
protect many children from molestation and abuse.
Child pornography laws instated during the 1970s were some of the first in the crusade to protect
children from sexual predators. This was because most of national news magazines were printing
detailed articles concerning child sexual abuse at the time. In just a few weeks, a national campaign
against the making and sale of child pornography exploded (Finkelhor 1) and politicians took note.
In 1977, the government enacted the Sexual Exploitation of Children Act which prohibited sexually
explicit photography of minors, the use of minors in production of pornography, and any material
promoting child pornography. Due to misunderstandings of what minor really meant, the Child
Protection Act of 1984 was ratified. It was then concluded that

The Russian Revolution of 1917 was unsuccessful because of how it did not accomplish the initial goal of establishing communism, internal social and economic issues within Russia, detrimental effects of rapid industrialisation and became the catalyst of a civil war. The defeat in war against Japan, in 1905, led to increased opposition to the Tsar, who was viewed as incompetent. With not enough land to go around (due to the controlling of private property), vast expansion of peasant population in the later half of the 19th century led to overcrowding and competition for land. James, the author of The Color of Water, wrote about how he struggled with knowing who he was and what his purpose in life was. James wasn t sure what race he was. He was confused due to the fact that his mother was white, and he was white. His mother and him shared a conversation about the color of water. His mother, Ruth, compared peoples races to the clearness of water. His mother quotes, God is the color of water. Water doesn t have a color, (51). I think that this means that God is a million different colors, and if you think about it, water s color changes due to its surroundings. Another example on how the title of the book relates to James and his identity problems, is that water moves with what s around it. In fact, the DSM 5 task force and work groups were instructed to consider empirically based guidelines to improve dimensional aspects of disorder categorization such as: shared neural substrates, biomarkers, family traits, course of illness, high comorbidity, genetic risk factors, and shared treatment response. While the DSM 5 task force ultimately decided that it was scientifically premature to transition to a completely dimensional diagnostic system that would have in effect changed the requirements for most disorders, the current edition serves as a transitional guideline to new diagnostic approaches without dramatically disrupting current clinical practice/research (APA, 2013). Dimensional approaches can be observed throughout the DSM 5 through the consolidation of related disorders, Section III additions, and supplemental online materials. Consolidation of Disorders. Texas originally acquired its power over the nation s textbook supply because it paid 100 percent of the cost of all public school textbooks, as long as the books in question came from a very short list of board approved options. The selection process was grueling and tension filled, said Julie McGee, who worked at high levels in several publishing houses before her retirement. If you didn t get listed by the state, you got nothing. On the other side of the coin, David Anderson, who once sold textbooks in the state, said that if a book made the list, even a fairly mediocre salesperson could count on doing pretty well. The books on the Texas list were likely to be mass produced by the publisher in anticipation of those sales, so other states liked to buy them and take advantage of the economies of scale. What happens in Texas doesn t stay in Texas when it comes to textbooks, said Dan Quinn, who worked as an editor of social studies textbooks before joining the Texas Freedom Network, which was founded by Governor Ann Richards s daughter, Cecile, to counter the religious right. The most spectacular example of the influence of Italian art on Renoir can be found in The Bathers. The hardness of outline, the smooth glossy texture and clarity of colour are the grounding for The Bathers. This can be considered his classical phase. Renoir was a remarkably versatile artist, his work ranged from portraits and scenes of Parisian life to landscapes and eventually nudes. An interest in sculpture was sparked in 1906, when a bust was made of him by Mailloll. In 1913 Renoir employed 23 year old Richard Guino as his teacher and assistant, and his collaboration with Guinno produced 14 figures and bas reliefs. Designing A Whole New Ultra Poreux Cellulose Based Material Recent years witnessed a momentum of consumers towards products biodegradable and designed according to more environmentally friendly ways of the environment. On the other hand, the increase in the price of oil and its scarcity helped bringing forward new products of natural origin. The objective of this article which is part of this perspective is to prepare and characterize a whole new ultra poreux cellulosebased material, called aerogel. Even if their discovery date of the beginning of the 1930s by Kristler, aerogels are considered at present the most promising new materials in the field of thermal super insulation. Not happy to be the subject of much research in this area, their high level of nanoporosite characteristic makes them indispensable in the development of batteries to fuel. The multitude of organic, inorganic or hybrid materials, and the appearance of new methods of preparation and extraction offer prospects for use in filtering system, ultrafine dust capture... Aerogels can be inorganic (silica based) or organic (example of resorcinol formaldehyde). They have a very low thermal conductivity, and are often super insulation, but they are relatively fragile (silica aerogel) or toxic (organic aerogels). Huxley refers to a variety of themes, ranging from the decay of morals and culture to drug dependency to brainwashing to others. Huxley also speaks of how the world in the 1930s is getting too liberal, nobody cares about each other, and how if you have a problem you can just take drugs until it is no longer a problem. The main thing Huxley speaks about is moral and cultural decay in modern society. chaps 16 and 18. Nobody cares about history or each other, just progress and making money. • 30. China s Trade Imbalance With A Firm Level Data Set... Measuring the magnitude of exchange rate pass through for Chinese exports is all the more relevant because China s trade imbalance with richer trading partners, notably the United States, is often perceived as exacerbated by exchange rate manipulations. Many indeed argue that an appreciation of the renminbi would help rebalance China s trade. While the RMB was pegged to the U.S. dollar until July 2005, Tang and Zhang (2014) noted that there were significant fluctuations in real terms from an appreciation of 9% from 2000 to 2001 to a depreciation of 17% from early 2005. The extent of its trade s response to a change in the exchange rate however depends on the magnitude of the ERPT and on the price elasticity of Chinese exports and imports.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They also find that the reaction of the Chinese exporting firms depends on their productivity levels: high productivity firms tend to adjust their export prices, while low productivity firms tend to adjust their export volumes. HГ©ricourt and Poncet (2015) also find that exchange rate volatility reduces a firm s decision to export and the value of these exports, but that these negative impacts can be mitigated with the existence to well developed financial markets. Our paper contributes to the literature on ERPT for Chinese exports by testing for heterogeneity in Chinese firms responses to changes in exchange rate. The main data source is a database collected by the Chinese Customs. It contains Chinese firm level export flows by year, product, custom regime, firm type, and destination country, over the years 2000 2006. One distinctive characteristic of China s trade lies in the importance of processing trade in total exports. From 2000 to 2006 the share of processing trade in total export exceeded 50%. Using micro level data allows us to circumvent some empirical issues one would face when estimating the ERPT with aggregate price data . First, we can treat changes in the exchange rate as exogenous (Feinberg, 1996). Second, using aggregate price indices to measure ERPT might lead to some bias in the estimation, as prices of many goods do not change during these goods lifetime. Kim et al. (2013) indeed ... They are both similar and different in many ways, for example prokaryotes are only a few micrometres in size whereas eukaryotes are between 5 100 micrometres and nearly 10,000 times the volume of that of a prokaryote. A chemical similarity between the two is that they both either contain or use proteins, carbohydrates, lipids and nucleic acids to store or create energy. Both eukaryotes and prokaryotes are able to be divided into further subcategories, eukaryotes can be either animal or plant cells, and prokaryotes can be classified based on the composition of their cell wall, for example bacteria. In this essay I will also go on to talk about why prokaryotic cells still exist in the microscopic world even though eukaryotes are so much more advanced. Eukaryotic cells Eukaryotic cells make up many different living organisms, all animals and plants are made up of these cells. They have a much more complex structure and can thus carry out many more complicated functions than prokaryotic cells can. They are usually around 5 100Ојm in size which allows them to contain many organelles, which for cells with specific functions, such as plant leaf cells, they are able to contain many more chloroplasts. The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) instituted some key changes in the rules of the game following the 2000 Olympics games, which were held in Sidney, Australia. Soon thereafter, the ITTF changed the game s scoring system from 21 point to 11 point system (International Table Tennis Federation , 2014). The serve rotation was also brought down from five points to two. Soon thereafter, the global federation of the game changed the rules and effectively prohibited players from hiding balls during service. In keeping with the sport s spirit of fairness, the rules cushions opponents from being caught by surprise. Rules require that the ball must be tossed a minimum of 16 centimeters in the air before being served. There are rules governing the course of events during a match including which team takes the first serve. In order to highlight the numerous ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. A Study On High School High school senior Timothy Williams woke to the sound of wind scraping the desert sand across a glass pane of his third floor Samarra Hotel room. In the pitch black room, he rolled over to see the nightstand. A digital clock showed the current time at 9:37AM. Tim thought to himself, Shit! Their buffet breakfast began at nine. They were running late. Tim hated the thought for being late, for anything. Tim pushed his back upwardly, propping up his elbows to survey his modest surroundings. The Hotel Samarra room had two twin beds, divided by a nightstand and a wobbly brass lamp. A dresser sat nearby the foot of Tim s bed with a 1980 s Sylvania TV/VCR combo set. Across from the dresser was a raggedy desk and chair, nearest the entrance. It reminded Williams of a motel accommodation. Which was fine, he just hoped that the Minister Mike s New Oasis Church wasn t paying big bucks for such arrangements, although the Hotel boasted its safety. Tim pondered, Could anyone actually be safe in this place? However, the darkness outside made Tim s mind questioned to himself, Was this an eclipse? Or am I m dreaming? Or is the time off? Another gust pelted the glass. This time it caused his roommate, Kwan Shin, to moan from his deep slumber. Kwan turned over to face Tim s direction. Shin s plump limbs were tangled among linen. That noise. Please. Stop it, Kwan spoke, half asleep. Tim rose from his bed wearing his gray cotton shorts, while his brother s dog tags and stainless ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 46. We Must Make Virtual Child Pornography Illegal Essay The Supreme Court lifted a 1996 act banning virtual child pornography. The six to three ruling, led by Justice Anthony Kennedy, says the law violates First Amendment freedom of speech rights guaranteed to every citizen of the United States of America. Although many free speech advocates are shouting victory, many citizens across the country are lamenting over the loss in the fightagainst child pornography. Child pornography has been present in society for centuries, but has only recently become more accessible through the development of the printing press and subsequently, the technology of the Internet. Until the mid 1990s, illegal child pornography [had only] involved depictions of actual children engaged in sexually explicit ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Quick to validate the new law, Congress proclaimed that child pornography is often used as part of a method of seducing other children into sexual activity (Slade). Congress further went on to say that with recent technology, having the ability to alter and enhance sexually exploitive images might render enforcement against pornography using real children impossible because determining real pictures from enhanced picture had the probability of being a very daunting and challenging task. This strengthened the government s argument that the law had a significant potential to protect many children from molestation and abuse. Child pornography laws instated during the 1970s were some of the first in the crusade to protect children from sexual predators. This was because most of national news magazines were printing detailed articles concerning child sexual abuse at the time. In just a few weeks, a national campaign against the making and sale of child pornography exploded (Finkelhor 1) and politicians took note. In 1977, the government enacted the Sexual Exploitation of Children Act which prohibited sexually explicit photography of minors, the use of minors in production of pornography, and any material promoting child pornography. Due to misunderstandings of what minor really meant, the Child Protection Act of 1984 was ratified. It was then concluded that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
