Nile River Cycle Analysis
In Egypt, the Nile River creates a rich green valley across the desert. It was by the banks of the river
that one of the oldest civilizations in the world began. The ancient Egyptians lived and farmed along
the Nile, using the soil to produce food for themselves and their animals. Document A, a map of Egypt
around 1500 BCE, was founded by multiple sources and was created in order to illustrate how the
placement of the river was beneficial to the success of cities across Egypt. The creators of this map
had no bias because the structure of the document is strictly factual. The map demonstrates the areas
that are gray represent the fertile Nile Valley. The Nile Valley is spread across lower and upper Egypt,
from cities such as Buto to Abu Simbel. It is an important document because it clarifies how the river
was able to have a strong influence on the citizens of Egypt. This indicates that there was a vast
number of people that had to depend on the Nile as a freshwater source, even for tasks included in
their daily life.
Document B, a chart of The Nile River Flood Cycle, written by Katherine Hinds was written to
explain how the different seasons of Egypt were affected by the river s flood cycle. Hinds view on the
river s flood cycle may be influenced by the fact that she will unintentionally compare ancient Egypt s
different seasons to modern times, however, this bias is not evident in the text. The seasons mentioned
were Akhet, the flood season, Peret, the planting and growing season, and Shemu, the harvest season.
Akhet took place in mid June to mid October, and in these months the fields were subjected to
flooding, due to the surrounding river, which meant farmers were provided with more labor such as
canal repair. Peret came to pass in mid October to mid February where enough time has passed for the
water to subside and supply irrigation canals, in which crops were planted and sustained until Shemu,
which took place until the cycle resumed its place in Akhet, where they were then harvested and sold
in the market. The document s intent was to express how the different seasons were useful to everyday
life long ago. It is significant because it shows how people were employed and citizens were provided

Evaluation Of A Block Of Land On Flagstaff Crescent
Identify the areas of law that are relevant to the chosen media report, and explain how they are
relevant to the matters outlined in the report.
This report analyses the altercation between Norvik Industry s ( a building company), Water
Corporation and Adrian and Linda Webb who are owners of a block of land on Flagstaff Crescent in
Secret Harbour
Contract Law
Contract Law is a key aspect between the Water Corporations company, Norvik Industry and Adriana
and Linda Webb.
First of all, Nordic Industries entered a contract between themselves and Water Corporations, when
applying to have the water connected on the block as stated in the article Norvik industries applied to

Then the building company (Norvik Industries) built on a block that was not under a building contract.
This happened without the authority of the block owners therefore can be seen as unauthorised
construction on a property
Corporations Law
Corporations Law can be described as the interaction between directors, employees, financier,
consumers and the community. Corporations law can be implied to this case as Water Corporations, a
government owned company had a responsibility upon entering into a contract with Norvik Industries
to provide an attention to skill when connecting the water line. To provide fully trained employees to
undertake this job. This involved double checking there work.
Tort Law
Water Corporations shows negligence, through incorrectly connecting the water to the wrong block.
This shows that they did not provide a duty of care, and attention to skill in identifying the correct
location of the block of land before establishing a water line.
2. The law serves a number of different functions. Demonstrate how the law functions in these various
ways, by reference to specific examples within the chosen media report and the areas of law you

Analysis Of The Lost Boy By Dave Pelzer
The Lost Boy, written by Dave Pelzer is a heartwarming story of a young nine year old boy, David,
who has family issues and is constantly being abused by his mother. Dave Pelzer is a New York Times
Bestseller and a #1 International Bestseller. He has written other books such as A Child Called It , My
Story, and A Man Named Dave, etc. This is my first story read by this author however, I will read
more of his work in the near future. The genre of this book I would say is self help, psychology and
inspirational because it sends out such a strong statement of what this young boy and probably many
other children are dealing with, in other words, it helps raise awareness. I myself did not imagine to be
reading this type of book since I m more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The main idea of this book is to show everyone what child abuse and what living in different foster
homes is like because most of the time people don t usually talk about this topic due to sensitivity and
this book helped everyone realize in a subtle way. I learned that this story isn t just imagined, but it
does indeed happen in real life. Children do live in households where the mother or father or whoever
treats them unfair and that is what opened up my eyes. One of the parts in the book that I enjoyed the
most is towards the end of the book for the reason that earlier in the story, when David first ran away
from home he saw a road sign that lead to a lake where him and his family would visit in the past and
right then and there he said he was going to live there when he grew up and in the end, his desire came
true and he lived in a cabin he made himself by the lake with his son, Stephen.
One of my favorite quotes of this story would be on page 303 which says, Years ago, I truly doubted
whether I d make it out alive. In my former life I had very little. Today, as I stand in my utopia, I have
what any person could wish for a life and the love of my son. Stephen and I are a family. The reason I
like this quote is because all his life, David was looking for a family and love and he finally found it.
In conclusion, I would most definitely recommend this book because it s very vulnerable and
emotional. Right from the beginning it may

Persuasive Essay On Fad Diets
Fad Diets The first fad diet that I will be talking about is the South Beach Diet. This diet includes
cutting out carbs and focusing on lean protein, low fat dairy, and good carbs whole grains, vegetables,
and fruit. While the first phase of the diet is strict, the third Maintenance phase is meant to be a
lifelong eating plan that allows you to enjoy occasional treats while maintaining a healthy weight. The
person who created the diet is a Florida based cardiologist, Arthur Agatston, MD, this diet was
released in 2003. This diet cost three hundred dollars for four weeks with fully prepared meals. The
South Beach Diet is advertised in commercials. These commercials tend to have pictures of people
losing weight very rapidly not that realistic time frame. The commercials also tend to have famous
fitness people in the commercials so that the public might believe in the diet more or are more likely
to choose it over another. The South Beach Diet is actually not that bad for you.The South Beach Diet
incorporates good carbs, healthy fats and plenty of lean protein. These are nutrient dense foods that
can turn off the switch for sugar and refined carb cravings. A fad diet is a diet that promises quick
weight loss through what is usually an unhealthy and unbalanced diet. This diet does promise quick
results and does kind of have a lack of some essential foods that we need. This diet does not require
special foods, but it does require less of a lot of foods. From this I think the

The Technology Of The Digital Generation Better Than The Meme
Introduction:
Perhaps no digital phenomenon can encapsulate the culture of the digital generation better than the
meme. The proliferation of social media outlets has made it possible for humourous, insightful, or
otherwise interesting content to spread throughout the web virally. Funny image macros like Advice
Dog and Rage Comics circulate through networks, from person to person, to amuse.
The idea of the meme has been around long before the conception of the internet, originating from a
text on evolutionary biology; unfortunately, the copious use of the word meme on the internet has led
to both the misuse of the term as well as a reluctance to utilise the word in academic discourse by
some authors.
This website is intended to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The study of memetics was created to explore how ideas are transferred from one mind to another and
the analysis of memes has become a large part of modern anthropomorphology.
Ideologies Are Fundamentally Memetic:
The values people hold are not defined by nature, but by exposure to and judgement of the world. It is
because of this that the values of others act as influences on the ones which we hold personally and
ideologies are born when people share the same worldview. These ideologies can spread virally or not,
but are always transferred memetically, as they change and evolve as they get passed around to,
judged by, and evaluated by, different people. It is because of this that we can see that ideologies are
fundamentally memetic constructs and this is but one example of sophisticated use of the idea of the
meme which validates its assimilation into the dictionary of academic prose.

Eugene Victor Debs Research Paper
It seems our country has always had a want for radicals who are captivating, and so it would us do
well to recall the likes of Eugene Victor Debs. Debs was what every socialist or revolutionary or
activist should be: intense in his principles, as well as sympathetic and compassionate in his personal
relations. Debs looked at the working class struggle not as a scholar, but instead as one who was
directly entangled he provided assistance by giving a voice to the great effort, or as he told an
assembly of Philadelphia workers, I look into your faces. I catch your spirit. I am simply the tongue of
the working class, making this appeal from the working class. Debs was clear about which war he was

He embraced trade unionism gradually, and Socialism with even greater hesitation. As an organizer for
the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen in the 1870 s, Debs preached Christian moral inspiration and
opposed strikes as a threat to labor management harmony. Before declaring himself a Socialist in
1897, Debs went through various ideological incarnations, from Democratic Party politician to free
silver Populist. Debs was a Socialist of a deeply practical bent, who deplored the insurrectionary
rhetoric of the Wobblies and helped build The Socialist Party. Debs linked the struggle for the people
do not wholly ignore industrial democracy of life. His devotion to the cause was unquestionable, but
what began to make Debs truly memorable was his giving nature, a passion for identifying with the
lost, the desperate, or underprivileged. He became known for simple Christ like acts of generosity,
such as presenting clothes from his own valise to those in need, or making impulsive gifts of money.

Financial Accounting Standards Board For Profit And...
Introduction The Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) determines financial accounting and
reporting standards for profit and nonprofit organizations that follow the Generally Accepted
Accounting Principles (GAAP) (FASB, 2016). The FASB establishes various accounting standards
that better guides the organization financially and promotes transparency with a broader understanding
of its financial status through reporting of useful information that can be provided to future investors
and board members. One standard is FASB Statement of Financial Accounting Standard (SFAS) 117
which enhances the relevance, understandability, and comparability of financial statements issued by
those organizations (FASB, 2016a). The following paper provides a brief description of the nonprofit
organization, the American Littoral Society (Society), summarizes findings of the financial status of
the Society when considering FASB SFAS 117 and their 2015 financial statement (American Littoral

Chronic Pneumonia Research Paper
Pneumonia is an infection of the lungs caused by bacteria, viruses, or fungi. There are many
subcategories for pneumonia but in this paper I will be talking about chronic pneumonia. Everyone
shows symptoms of pneumonia differently. The most common symptoms include coughing, fever, and
shortness of breath. Less common include chest pain, headache, Fusion, or fatigue. Chronic
pneumonias are usually caused by slow growing organisms such as fungi or microorganisms. Some
cases of chronic pneumonia can t be diagnosed even by biopsies of lung tissue. There are four main
causes of chronic pneumonia. Histoplasmosis is a fungus commonly found in soil and is associated
with bird droppings. It cannot be passed person to person and can cause both acute ... Show more

When an individual has pneumonia, chronic or acute, their lungs fill with fluid. This can be localized
or spread out. The alveoli get inflamed when they fill with fluid and cause an itching sensation in the
lungs. That itching causes most people to cough, that is the body s natural way to get rid of buildup in
the lungs. Cough suppressants will stop this natural reaction and usually make that individuals
pneumonia last longer. On the other hand, too much coughing will results in scarring on the lungs that
will make the individual more likely to get chronic pneumonia even if they only had acute pneumonia
to begin with. The alveolar wall is formed with simple squamous epithelial cells known as alveolar
cells. Capillaries surround these sacks and allow the exchange of gases. When an individual has
pneumonia the alveoli fill with too much fluid to allow the exchange of

A Nutty Idea Worksheet Analysis
For the A Nutty Idea worksheet, I had to convert the ingredients from a the Turtle Sundae Mix the
Banana Split Mix. The ingredients and measurements basically stays the same except for the
measurement of Pecans and Rainbow Sprinkles on the new Banana Split Mix. I am given the
measurements for each ingredient that make up the 6 oz bag of Turtle Sundae Mix; but, the units are
not all the same. So, first, I have to convert each ingredient measurement to ounce before I can move
on to solve the problem. The measurement for the Chocolate covered peanuts is given in ounce
already, 1.5 oz. So I didn t have to do anything to this. The second item is a ratio of 1:8 Vanilla Yogurt

The instruction says that the Salted Caramel will be substituted with Banana Chips and that the Pecans
from the previous packaging will now be 1/5 less that the original measurement for the new
packaging. It also states the Rainbow Sprinkles measurement will be the remaining ounces that is
unaccounted for to make the total 6 oz. All the other ingredient measurements stay the same except for
Pecan and Rainbow Sprinkles. So what I did was I used the fraction form of the Pecan and subtracted
1/5 from it. My equation was 3/20 1/5, which became 3/20 4/20. The answer I got was 1/20 or 0.05.
This means that the amount of Pecans in the new Banana Split Mix will be zero because the answer is
a negative number. I then added all the measurements together and subtracted it from the total 6 oz to
get the amount of Rainbow Sprinkles. My equation was 1.5 oz + 0.19 oz + 0.57 oz 0.05 + 2.82 = 5.03
oz. Then I subtracted this number from the 6 oz. My equations was 6 oz 5.03 oz = 0.97oz. This is the
unit amount of Rainbow Sprinkles that will be in the 6 oz of Banana Split

Psoriasis Challenges
Patients who suffer from Psoriasis face many challenges. This skin disease that has no cure is very
difficult to treat and has many physical, emotional and financial problems associated with it. We, as
medical assistants need to be made more aware of this disease. We also need to educate ourselves so
we can help educate our suffering patients. Through education and counsel, as well as emotional and
medical support, we can make a difference in these people s lives. Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory
disease of the skin that results in proliferation and differentiation of keratinocytes and the infiltration
of immune cells (1). The keratinized layers of dead skin do not slough off as normal skin does; instead
it builds up on the epidermis. The normal regulation of cell generation is hindered by the body. This
disease affects over 1 2% of the general population and does not discriminate against any gender.

cause difficulty wearing shoes and walking without discomfort in them, the psychological effects can

Abstract

Protection Act is discussed along with the history and background of this particular environmental
law. In addition, the reasoning behind its existence will be elaborately deliberated.
The Marine Mammal Protection Act
The Marine Mammal Protection Act was established and signed in 1972. According to Ray and Potter

or debate by both the House of Representatives and the Senate and was signed into law on 21 October

Congress created the Marine Mammal Protection Act as a reaction to the public s concern that human
activities were threatening to extinguish certain species of marine mammals. As Dye (1993) states,
Congress enacted the MMPA to prohibit the harassing, catching and killing of marine mammals by
U.S. citizens or within the jurisdiction of the United States .
The MMPA is managed by primarily by both the US Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) external and the
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) external. The Marine Mammal
Commission (MMC) external was bought in also to review and amend existing policies. This group of
three members, chosen by the U.S. President, is appointed for three year terms. The FWS and NOAA
have different roles in protecting marine mammals; the first taking responsibility for sea otters,
walruses, polar bears, manatees; the latter taking responsibility for pinnipeds, including seals and sea
lions, and cetaceans such as whales and dolphins. Also, the Animal and Plant Health Inspection
Service external, part of the Department of Agriculture, is accountable for the regulations managing
marine mammals in captivity.
There have been a number of amendments to the MMPA since 1972. According to Risenhoover
(2012), these amendments have added more legislation or, in some parts, lessened the regulations . An
example is the International Dolphin Conservation Act

This not only gives me comfort but more confidence about the situation. Having a close knit friend

Their Eyes Were Watching God Decisions.... Anyone who s ever read Their Eyes Were Watching God

because in the book, he teaches her to appreciate herself, he is responsible and tells the truth, and he
allows her to have fun. One reason Janie is better off with Tea Cake is the fact that Tea Cake
repeatedly teaches her to appreciate herself. Tea Cake and Mrs. Mayor Starks! All the men that she

Environmental Conditions In Maus II
Maus I and Maus II, a graphic novel that is broken down into two books, illustrate the gruesome
effects of the holocaust (1986, 1991). Maus I and II by Art Spiegelman tells a story of his father
Vladke, and his experience s during the Holocaust as a Polish Jew. He illustrates the graphic novel
with mice representing the Jews and cats representing the German Nazis. Spiegelman articulates

where they capture Jews and place them captive and restricted them under tough conditions (2016).
The prisoners were imprisoned and kept under harsh conditions of these camps. Countless numbers of
prisoners in the concentration camps died from over exhaustion, environmental conditions, or diseases

Augustine And Confucius Similarities
Both St. Augustine s Confessions and Confucius s Analects are significant teachings that have
influenced people around the world not only in ancient times but in current history as well. Both
doctrines provide discussion on the ethical values of society back in the ancient time they were written
and lead us to discover similarities between the two beliefs. Although we find these connections, there
are significant differences between St. Augustine and Confucius s views on life and beliefs since they
were living in different time periods and environments. Their experiences are the influencers that have

In St. Augustine s Confessions, Augustine explains how his parents give up a lot for him and his
education. Although his father was acknowledged for his financial attribution to Augustine s
education, he never cared if his sons character would mature through the educational system. St.
Augustine s dad paid more than a richer man would pay for their son s education because he wanted to
provide Augustine with the proper education. (Confessions, II, 5). St. Augustine showed very little
respect toward his father but had a great deal of respect to his mother, Monica, since she was a
practicing Christian (II,60). In spite of his respect for her as a Christian, Augustine criticized his
mother for getting in the way of his sexual desire (II,8). But his father arranged his marriage and
encouraged him to have children (II,6). Unlike Confucius s teachings of remaining reverent to your
parent, Augustine openly criticized his family s wrong doings because God was his heart and only
truth (II,5).
The Analects and Confessions share different views in the belief about one s self and the truth.
Confucius understood that the Truth of life, Ren, was the heart of goodness (Confessions, II,5). Under
the teachings of Confucius, there was not one specific God, instead, Confucius focused on the man
himself and the way his character developed as he matured within the society. He believed It is Man

Community Health Agent (CHA)
In the 1960s and 1970s, small CHW programs began to emerge in various countries, particularly in
Latin America. The experience from CHW programs predating the 1970s provided the inspiration for

Hot Luzz Editing Style
One of the best examples of a great writer, editor and director working together is in the film Hot
Fuzz, directed by Edgar Wright, written by Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg, and edited by Chris
Dickens. The film showcases a sense of visual comedy unlike most films, utilizing a hilarious script, a
defined directorial style and quick, concise and economical editing. A perfect scene that encompasses
this is when Simon Pegg s character, Nicholas Angel, arrives at the police station for the first time to
arrest some underage drinkers. In most police/action films, they would usually have a shot of the cell
doors closing with the kids in the it. Here, however, the writers decide to show Nick Angel merely
taking their mug shots and completing the necessary paperwork to ... Show more content on

Wright s directorial flair further emphasizes this comedy by making scenes look as if they came out of
a typical modern noir film. Dark blue shadows contrast against bright white florescent lights, while
featuring claustrophobic closeups of characters faces. However, the comedy comes when that lighting
is against such cartoony, and yet far too real, imagery of drunk kids with traffic cone hats, or when
those closeups focus on the mere paper work being done, instead of something more thrilling. Lastly,
Dickens editing style is reminiscent of high intensity action films, something similar from Tony Scott.
The subversion then comes when the palpating intensity of the shots and the edge of your seat feel that
the editing style shows off is for the mundane job of writing up paperwork for these kid s arrest. These
subtle details in the scene turn what could ve been a normal, bland, unimportant scene into a truly
memorable moment. This is all throughout the film, with the writers subverting the ideas, the director
creating a visual feel that contrasts with what is being seen, and the editor using hip hop

Animals and Humans Are Not Equal Essay
Animals and Humans Are Not Equal
Franklin was a vegetarian in his youth, believing that killing animals was a kind of unprovok d
Murder. Later, however, Franklin was tempted by the smell of fish being fried. Having seen small fish
in the stomachs of fish being prepared, he decided he could eat them if they ate each other. If animals
eat other animals to sustain life, animals must be an excellent source of food. Meat contains many
vitamins.
Animals will have rights when they have the means to enforce them. They don t have the ability to
reason as humans do. The human race has such a vast understanding of the necessities for all of the
different species of animals to exist. Humans are far superior to any other animal because ... Show

Something worth consideration is that humans are the only ones who seem to complain about the
conditions. Animals are under some stress when they get there, but soon they adapt to the new life
well. Farm animals are adaptable in this way. When animals are stressed out they won t eat or drink,
thus, the animals in factory farms aren t under a great deal stress. As for disease, antibiotics are always
plentiful.
Medicine is another subject of much dispute. Antibiotics are used frequently in livestock to treat many
illnesses. Activists find this very troubling, saying antibiotics cause antibiotic resistant strains of
pneumonia, childhood meningitis, gonorrhea, salmonella, and other serious illnesses. They also
include that, 9,000 Americans die annually from food borne illness and an estimated 80 million others
fall ill. These numbers looks huge but because this article is found in the pro vegetertianism section,
people associate these figures with eating meat. They subsequentlyleave out ho many of the 9,000
people die of pesticides on vegetables. As for the antibiotics all of them have a withholding period. A
withholding period is a set time period in which an animal receives and antibiotic, can t be butchered
for meat. This is so the residue of antibiotics is out of the meat. Most antibiotics anymore are not
given intermuscular, but subcutaneously (or just under the skin)

Land Inequality In Guatemala
Land ownership and distribution are extremely unequal in Guatemala. This is immensely unfair
because 2% of landowners hold 65% of the arable land ( Guatemala Country ). Due to these extreme
numbers, the distribution of land is one of the most unequal in the hemisphere ( Guatemala Country ).
As a result of this, lower class citizens have no way of earning money other than taking a, usually
laborious and low paying, job. Not only is this causing a low quality of life for many Guatemalans,
this is also contributing greatly the chronic poverty in Guatemala. The fact that Guatemalan farm
owners are not using their farmland is another issue. This is an unfortunate situation because a greater
profit could be made if the extra land was in use,

Peter Unger I Do Not Exist
Peter Unger, in his essay I do not Exist, presented the position of self non existence and complete non
existence,e.g, nothing exists. This move is based on the idea that things are made of atoms,
specifically that things are composed of finite numbers of atoms, and therefore the removal of even
one atom would, therefore, change the existential status of the thing in question; however, it must be
said his argument does not necessarily rely on atoms specifically it is merely convenient that science
has allowed an easy explanation of the theory. All of these moves are intrinsically solid points of
contention to the non existence of things, he even goes so far as to call metaphysical attempts of
explanation miracles, because it involves changing the structure of the logic used to conclude this non
existence. I, however, am going to take a reductionist and common sense approach and use only the
logic given by Peter Unger to show that his proofs do not necessarily invalidate his own existence nor
do his proofs invalidate the existence of an object whose existence is being questioned. To do this I
must rely on no metaphysical miracles to save my explanations, but instead I must show the nature of
losing small amounts of atoms is irrelevant to my existence. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The Value Of A Value Chain
Businesses create value by converting inputs (that is raw material, labor and overhead) into business
outputs in such a way that they have a greater value than the original input cost.
Manufacturing companies create value by acquiring raw materials and using them to produce
something useful. Retailers bring together a range of products and present them in a way that is
convenient to customers, sometimes supported by services such as fitting rooms or personal shopper
advice. And insurance companies offer policies to customers that are underwritten by larger re
insurance policies. The value that s created and captured by a company is the profit margin:
Value Created and Captured Cost of Creating that Value = Margin
The more value an organization creates, the more profitable it is likely to be. And when you provide
more value to your customers, you build competitive advantage. This is what Michael Porter
discussed this in his influential 1985 book competitive Advantage in which he first introduced the
concept of the value chain.
A value chain is a set of activities that an organization carries out to create value for its customers.
Porter proposed a general purpose value chain that companies can use to examine all of their
activities, and see how they re connected. The way in which value chain activities are performed
determines costs and affects profits.

Porter s Value Chain focuses on systems, and how inputs are changed into the outputs

Born on September 25, 1952, native New Yorker Christopher Reeve has lead a life of stardom,
coupled with a life of tragedy. Leading a very successful film career, Reeves was on top of the world,
until the fifth day of May of nineteen ninety five. On this day, Reeves life would change forever.
However, no tragedy could stop a true Superman.

rights organizations, and the environment. Amnesty international, Lindbergh Foundation, and people

demonstrate in support of some artists with death warrants. For his successful efforts he was awarded
a special Obie Award in nineteen eighty eight. In the years to come, he made several other

On the fifth day of May, nineteen ninety five Superman fought his greatest battle of all. The battle for
his life. During the cross country portion of an quot;eventing quot; event his horse stopped in its tracks

Commodity prices parallel to stock prices can boom and bust without warning affected by numerous

Heterogeneous Ribonucleic Proteins ( Hnrnps )
Heterogeneous ribonucleic proteins (HNRNPs) are a family of RNA binding proteins that play a key
role in various metabolic functions of RNA. There are roughly twenty major hnRNPs which are
readily found in large quantities in the nucleus and in some cases in the cytoplasm. hnRNPs are
expressed throughout all tissues at different levels depending on the hnRNP (Kamma et al. 1994).
hnRNP metabolic roles include polyadanilation, shuttling mRNA out of the nuclear envelope,
telomere biogenesis and localization. (Dreyfuss et al. 2002). In particular, hnRNP A1 can acts an an
antagonist to the SF2/ASF protein, which allows A1 to inhibitor exon splicing and cytoplasm bound
transport of mRNA. An example of localization is hnRNP A2, which confers the dendritic mRNA
transport of various transcripts when induced by neuronal activity (Muslimov et al. 2002).
Role of hnRNP A2/B1
Brain plasticity and learning such as BDNF driven long term synaptic potentiation rely partly on the
shuttling and translation of dendritic mRNAs. Large messenger RNA binding proteins such as hnRNP
A2/B1 carry inactive dendrite bound mRNA via the microtubule cytoskeleton where they will be
translated when they are activated at the synapse (Leal et al. 2014). Brain derived neurotropic factor
(BDNF) and increased neuronal activity has shown to regulate the distribution of A2/B1. Particularly
an increase in BDNF rises the tendency of cytoplasmic and and dendritic localization. Some key
protein transcripts carried by

Essay on The Cmapion Land Deal
The Cmapion Land Deal
The acquisition of the so called former Champion lands resulted from one of the most complicated
land deals in Vermont history. The Champion Lands in Vermont were part of a larger deal involving
almost 300,000 arces in New York, New Hampshire as well as Vermont. The specifics of how the
property was transferred to the current owners are relevant because in some cases the provisions of the
transfer mandate certain types of management or constrain management in other ways.
On October 8, 1997, Champion International Inc. announced its intention to sell approximately
200,000 acres in the Northern Forest. Champion, and the St. Regis Paper Company before it, had
owned these lands for decades, and during the last ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An important part of this model was to divide the Champion lands into separate but complementary
ownerships on the basis of ecological values and basic management purposes: areas with the greatest
ecological significance would be publicly owned and protected, with timber harvesting precluded on
substantial acreages to allow natural processes like forest succession to occur unimpeded; and the
most productive timber lands, with fewer special ecological values, would be kept in private
ownership with a requirement that they be managed for long term sustainable forestry. Public access
for a variety of historic uses and other activities would be guaranteed on the entirety of the property.
When the possibility of acquiring the Champion lands had first arisen, the Vermont Agency of Natural
Resources requested that TNC lead a process to identify the most ecologically significant portions of
those lands. VANR, TNC, TCF and the other partners in the acquisition used the results of that
analysis to determine which parts of the overall property should be publicly owned either by the State
of Vermont or the federal government, and which should remain under private ownership as a working
forest. Ultimately, the VANR acquired more than 22,000 acres of land south of Route 105 that now
comprise the West Mountain WMA, and the USFWS acquired 26,000 acres encompassing much of
the Nulhegan Basin north of Route 105 as part of the Silvio O. Conte National Fish and Wildlife

Importance Of The Second Amendment
The Second Amendment is making headlines these days. The Second Amendment states, A well
regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and
bear Arms, shall not be infringed. This Amendment was ratified in December of 1791. This
amendment was proposed by James Madison, after the constitution was ratified. James Madison
originally proposed the Second Amendment shortly after the Constitution was officially ratified as a
way to provide more power to state militias... (Brooks, The Second Amendment and the Right to Bear
Arms) The latest court case on the Second Amendment is the Peruta v. California case . But that was
turned down the case. The Second Amendment is important because it provides self defense, enables
U.S. citizens to hunt for food, and it allows for citizens of states in the U.S. to form militias. The
Second Amendment is important because it provides self defense to American citizens. In some states,
like Arizona, you can carry a gun around without a permit, if you re an adult. But if someone wants to
have his or hers gun concealed, then they are required to have a permit. Forty two states generally
require a state issued permit in order to carry concealed weapons in public ( CCW permit). (Hardy,

The anti trust laws were set in place to promote vigorous competition but also to protect the consumer
from unfair mergers and business practices. The first antitrust law that was passed by Congress is
called the Sherman Act and is a comprehensive charter of economic liberty aimed at preserving free
and unfettered competition as the rule of trade according to www.FTC.gov . Later in 1914 Congress
passed two more laws, one creating the Federal Trade Commission Act (FTCA) and then the Clayton

are effective because of the lawsuits that have taken place due to companies breaking the laws. My
first example regarding how the laws are effective is the case of Certegy Check Services, Inc. s
lawsuit in 2013. Certegy is one of the nation s largest check authorization service companies (Katz,
Mitchell 2013) in our nation based in St. Petersburg, Fl. The company helps retail merchants
determine whether or not to accept the consumers check. The consumers are allowed to dispute the
information that Certegy may have that is incorrect due to the fact that this has a huge impact on their
life, determining their eligibility to get credit cards or pay for services such as cell phones. The
complaint that was filed against Certegy stated that the company did not follow proper dispute
procedures among other allegations as stated by Katz, Mitchell in his article on the lawsuit. The
company violated FCRA by not creating a process that allows the consumers to obtain their free
annual reports, which

Implementation Of The Investigation And Completion Date
To ensure that AMS receives a timeframe for the steps of the investigation and estimated completion
date, a projection of the plan is needed in the forensic plan. As a result, the forensic plan for AMS
includes a projection on what needs to be collected, time for each task, and the risks and challenges of
the investigation.
a. The steps and dependencies in your investigation?
The review will follow the four phase forensic process as shown in Figure 2; which will provide the
projected steps and dependencies of the investigation. The first step will involve the collection phase,
which is dependent on the media. The second step is the examination phase, which is dependent on the
data that was collected. The third step is the analysis phase, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

According to Computer Evidence Recovery (2015), these phases can take from 7 to 14 days per hard
drive to complete.
Finally, DFI will provide AMS with a final report of its findings. It is imperative that this report is
written in a clear and concise manner for AMS management, and is based on relevant facts. As a
result, this report will be delivered to AMS 30 days after the last examination/analysis is completed.
Additionally, it is necessary for the lead investigator and AMS management to review the final report
and answer any questions.
c. Potential risks and challenges to the investigation and how they should be handled?
The potential risks and challenges to the investigation is the fact that AMS wants the investigation to
be conducted clandestinely. This risks the loss of digital evidence because the digital forensic
investigator may not preserve the sources of the collected data to remain covert. Additionally, the
possibility exists that the suspects in marketing or accounts receivable become suspicious and begin to
destroy evidence.
DFI advises AMS management to allow the lead investigator the option to openly notify employees of
the investigation if the need arises. This would provide the lead investigator with the ability to remove
employees from marketing and account receivable from their workstations to preserve the devices and
safeguard the digital evidence.
3. Determine how you will determine who is involved.
Involvement will be deduced

Armed Rebel Group Research Paper
Suicide bombers, rebel groups, minefield clearers, and soldiers are words used to describe these
children in a terrible situation. In places like Afghanistan, Iran, and Guantanamo Bay children as
young as 5 years old are apprehended from their families, and are taken to army camps to fight against
the U.S backed government. These children are so innocent, but many think that they need to be
arrested for what they are doing. Instead of playing on a playground with their families they are
brainwashed, drugged, forced to kill, and poisoned with alcoholic beverages.
These kids are in no condition for fighting in armed rebel groups but the numbers of these kids are
starting to go up. Over 8,000 children are fighting in armed rebel groups, battling the U.S backed
government. They are taught to kill and are forced to think that killing is a good thing, plus, the guns
they are supposed to use are even heavier than most of these kids, so that clearly shows they shouldn t
be using them. These child soldiers need to be put in rehabilitation instead of being put in prison, they
are being forced to take drugs, they are brainwashed into thinking ... Show more content on

his direction. Omar was being lead by his own father, and if you try to leave the camps you either
escape safely or you get shot and killed. Omar Kadhr couldn t get away, ever, he was forever trapped
in this area of brutality and hazards. Yes, the soldiers are provided with food, water and shelter, but
they are treated very poorly in these camps, being threatened, forced to go to war, and sometimes

Social Culture Of The Pawnee Tribe
The Pawnee tribe is a Native American tribe that was originated from Nebraska and had very unique
cultural elements. The cultural elements I chose to go more indepth are Social Organizations, Customs
and Traditions, Language, and Religion of the Pawnee tribe. For the Social Organizations I will
discuss the social classes, and the political organization of the tribe. For Customs and Traditions I will
examine the rules of behavior, as well as the food they consumed. For Language I will discuss the
written and the unwritten language as well as the common language with the other bands. Lastly I will
talk about the Religion and go into more details on their rituals, and their beliefs. I believe that the
longevity of the tribe was directly related to the way they lived. The social organization of the Pawnee
tribe consisted of the social class, and the political organization. The Pawnee tribe was divided into
four main bands the Chaui or the Great Band , the Kitkahahki or the Republican , the Pirahauerat or
the Tappage and the Skiri or the Wolf Pawnee . These four bands made up the political organization.
The Chaui are generally recognized as being the leading band although each band was autonomous,
that is until outside pressures from the Europeans and neighboring tribes saw the Pawnee drawing
closer together. (Legends of America) The Pawnee s social classes were set up in a series of
hierarchical divisions. The highest class consisted of chiefs followed by warriors,

I immediately noticed that both the driver (gaymian bonito) as well as the passenger (pedro Alonso ifl)
did not have their safety belts on. Upon making contact with both arrestees, I observed them sweating
profusely and shaking. It was obvious to me that both were nervous of police presence. It should be
noted the driver will be referred to as arrestee 1 and the passenger as arrestee 2. I then asked arrestee 1
for his driver s license, registration, and proof of insurance at which point the arrestee advised, fuck
you I m not giving you shit, it s not a crime to drive with no lights on. I then asked the arrestee if he
had any form of id in his possession at which point he refused and advised, this is bullshit, I plead the
fifth I know my rights officer. It should be noted while asking the arrestee for his information, I also
asked arrestee 2 for his information. It should be noted while this was occurring I asked arrestee 2
multiple times for identification in which he refused. Both became uncooperative and very belligerent.
I then advised both arrestees that they would be detained due to them not providing me any
identification of who they are pending further investigation, both arrestees advised me we are citizens
we know what our rights are, we both don t need to exit the vehicle . Due to officer safety, I then

  • 2. Nile River Cycle Analysis In Egypt, the Nile River creates a rich green valley across the desert. It was by the banks of the river that one of the oldest civilizations in the world began. The ancient Egyptians lived and farmed along the Nile, using the soil to produce food for themselves and their animals. Document A, a map of Egypt around 1500 BCE, was founded by multiple sources and was created in order to illustrate how the placement of the river was beneficial to the success of cities across Egypt. The creators of this map had no bias because the structure of the document is strictly factual. The map demonstrates the areas that are gray represent the fertile Nile Valley. The Nile Valley is spread across lower and upper Egypt, from cities such as Buto to Abu Simbel. It is an important document because it clarifies how the river was able to have a strong influence on the citizens of Egypt. This indicates that there was a vast number of people that had to depend on the Nile as a freshwater source, even for tasks included in their daily life. Document B, a chart of The Nile River Flood Cycle, written by Katherine Hinds was written to explain how the different seasons of Egypt were affected by the river s flood cycle. Hinds view on the river s flood cycle may be influenced by the fact that she will unintentionally compare ancient Egypt s different seasons to modern times, however, this bias is not evident in the text. The seasons mentioned were Akhet, the flood season, Peret, the planting and growing season, and Shemu, the harvest season. Akhet took place in mid June to mid October, and in these months the fields were subjected to flooding, due to the surrounding river, which meant farmers were provided with more labor such as canal repair. Peret came to pass in mid October to mid February where enough time has passed for the water to subside and supply irrigation canals, in which crops were planted and sustained until Shemu, which took place until the cycle resumed its place in Akhet, where they were then harvested and sold in the market. The document s intent was to express how the different seasons were useful to everyday life long ago. It is significant because it shows how people were employed and citizens were provided with ... Analysis Of The Lost Boy By Dave Pelzer The Lost Boy, written by Dave Pelzer is a heartwarming story of a young nine year old boy, David, who has family issues and is constantly being abused by his mother. Dave Pelzer is a New York Times Bestseller and a #1 International Bestseller. He has written other books such as A Child Called It , My Story, and A Man Named Dave, etc. This is my first story read by this author however, I will read more of his work in the near future. The genre of this book I would say is self help, psychology and inspirational because it sends out such a strong statement of what this young boy and probably many other children are dealing with, in other words, it helps raise awareness. I myself did not imagine to be reading this type of book since I m more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The main idea of this book is to show everyone what child abuse and what living in different foster homes is like because most of the time people don t usually talk about this topic due to sensitivity and this book helped everyone realize in a subtle way. I learned that this story isn t just imagined, but it does indeed happen in real life. Children do live in households where the mother or father or whoever treats them unfair and that is what opened up my eyes. One of the parts in the book that I enjoyed the most is towards the end of the book for the reason that earlier in the story, when David first ran away from home he saw a road sign that lead to a lake where him and his family would visit in the past and right then and there he said he was going to live there when he grew up and in the end, his desire came true and he lived in a cabin he made himself by the lake with his son, Stephen. One of my favorite quotes of this story would be on page 303 which says, Years ago, I truly doubted whether I d make it out alive. In my former life I had very little. Today, as I stand in my utopia, I have what any person could wish for a life and the love of my son. Stephen and I are a family. The reason I like this quote is because all his life, David was looking for a family and love and he finally found it. In conclusion, I would most definitely recommend this book because it s very vulnerable and emotional. Right from the beginning it may ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The proliferation of social media outlets has made it possible for humourous, insightful, or otherwise interesting content to spread throughout the web virally. Funny image macros like Advice Dog and Rage Comics circulate through networks, from person to person, to amuse. The idea of the meme has been around long before the conception of the internet, originating from a text on evolutionary biology; unfortunately, the copious use of the word meme on the internet has led to both the misuse of the term as well as a reluctance to utilise the word in academic discourse by some authors. The study of memetics was created to explore how ideas are transferred from one mind to another and the analysis of memes has become a large part of modern anthropomorphology. Ideologies Are Fundamentally Memetic: The values people hold are not defined by nature, but by exposure to and judgement of the world. It is because of this that the values of others act as influences on the ones which we hold personally and ideologies are born when people share the same worldview. These ideologies can spread virally or not, but are always transferred memetically, as they change and evolve as they get passed around to, judged by, and evaluated by, different people. It is because of this that we can see that ideologies are fundamentally memetic constructs and this is but one example of sophisticated use of the idea of the meme which validates its assimilation into the dictionary of academic prose. All the other ingredient measurements stay the same except for Pecan and Rainbow Sprinkles. So what I did was I used the fraction form of the Pecan and subtracted 1/5 from it. • 22. Hot Luzz Editing Style One of the best examples of a great writer, editor and director working together is in the film Hot Fuzz, directed by Edgar Wright, written by Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg, and edited by Chris Dickens. The film showcases a sense of visual comedy unlike most films, utilizing a hilarious script, a defined directorial style and quick, concise and economical editing. A perfect scene that encompasses this is when Simon Pegg s character, Nicholas Angel, arrives at the police station for the first time to arrest some underage drinkers. In most police/action films, they would usually have a shot of the cell doors closing with the kids in the it. Here, however, the writers decide to show Nick Angel merely taking their mug shots and completing the necessary paperwork to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Wright s directorial flair further emphasizes this comedy by making scenes look as if they came out of a typical modern noir film. Dark blue shadows contrast against bright white florescent lights, while featuring claustrophobic closeups of characters faces. However, the comedy comes when that lighting is against such cartoony, and yet far too real, imagery of drunk kids with traffic cone hats, or when those closeups focus on the mere paper work being done, instead of something more thrilling. Lastly, Dickens editing style is reminiscent of high intensity action films, something similar from Tony Scott. The subversion then comes when the palpating intensity of the shots and the edge of your seat feel that the editing style shows off is for the mundane job of writing up paperwork for these kid s arrest. These subtle details in the scene turn what could ve been a normal, bland, unimportant scene into a truly memorable moment. This is all throughout the film, with the writers subverting the ideas, the director creating a visual feel that contrasts with what is being seen, and the editor using hip hop ... Later, however, Franklin was tempted by the smell of fish being fried. Having seen small fish in the stomachs of fish being prepared, he decided he could eat them if they ate each other. If animals eat other animals to sustain life, animals must be an excellent source of food. Meat contains many vitamins. Animals will have rights when they have the means to enforce them. As for disease, antibiotics are always plentiful. Medicine is another subject of much dispute. Antibiotics are used frequently in livestock to treat many illnesses. Activists find this very troubling, saying antibiotics cause antibiotic resistant strains of pneumonia, childhood meningitis, gonorrhea, salmonella, and other serious illnesses. This move is based on the idea that things are made of atoms, specifically that things are composed of finite numbers of atoms, and therefore the removal of even one atom would, therefore, change the existential status of the thing in question; however, it must be said his argument does not necessarily rely on atoms specifically it is merely convenient that science has allowed an easy explanation of the theory. All of these moves are intrinsically solid points of contention to the non existence of things, he even goes so far as to call metaphysical attempts of explanation miracles, because it involves changing the structure of the logic used to conclude this non existence. I, however, am going to take a reductionist and common sense approach and use only the logic given by Peter Unger to show that his proofs do not necessarily invalidate his own existence nor do his proofs invalidate the existence of an object whose existence is being questioned. To do this I must rely on no metaphysical miracles to save my explanations, but instead I must show the nature of losing small amounts of atoms is irrelevant to my existence. ... • 26. The Value Of A Value Chain Businesses create value by converting inputs (that is raw material, labor and overhead) into business outputs in such a way that they have a greater value than the original input cost. Manufacturing companies create value by acquiring raw materials and using them to produce something useful. Retailers bring together a range of products and present them in a way that is convenient to customers, sometimes supported by services such as fitting rooms or personal shopper advice. And insurance companies offer policies to customers that are underwritten by larger re insurance policies. The value that s created and captured by a company is the profit margin: Value Created and Captured Cost of Creating that Value = Margin The more value an organization creates, the more profitable it is likely to be. And when you provide more value to your customers, you build competitive advantage. This is what Michael Porter discussed this in his influential 1985 book competitive Advantage in which he first introduced the concept of the value chain. A value chain is a set of activities that an organization carries out to create value for its customers. Porter proposed a general purpose value chain that companies can use to examine all of their activities, and see how they re connected. The way in which value chain activities are performed determines costs and affects profits. There are roughly twenty major hnRNPs which are readily found in large quantities in the nucleus and in some cases in the cytoplasm. hnRNPs are expressed throughout all tissues at different levels depending on the hnRNP (Kamma et al. 1994). hnRNP metabolic roles include polyadanilation, shuttling mRNA out of the nuclear envelope, telomere biogenesis and localization. (Dreyfuss et al. 2002). In particular, hnRNP A1 can acts an an antagonist to the SF2/ASF protein, which allows A1 to inhibitor exon splicing and cytoplasm bound transport of mRNA. An example of localization is hnRNP A2, which confers the dendritic mRNA transport of various transcripts when induced by neuronal activity (Muslimov et al. 2002). Role of hnRNP A2/B1 Brain plasticity and learning such as BDNF driven long term synaptic potentiation rely partly on the shuttling and translation of dendritic mRNAs. Large messenger RNA binding proteins such as hnRNP A2/B1 carry inactive dendrite bound mRNA via the microtubule cytoskeleton where they will be translated when they are activated at the synapse (Leal et al. 2014). Potential risks and challenges to the investigation and how they should be handled? The potential risks and challenges to the investigation is the fact that AMS wants the investigation to be conducted clandestinely. This risks the loss of digital evidence because the digital forensic investigator may not preserve the sources of the collected data to remain covert. Additionally, the possibility exists that the suspects in marketing or accounts receivable become suspicious and begin to destroy evidence. DFI advises AMS management to allow the lead investigator the option to openly notify employees of the investigation if the need arises. This would provide the lead investigator with the ability to remove employees from marketing and account receivable from their workstations to preserve the devices and safeguard the digital evidence. 3. The social organization of the Pawnee tribe consisted of the social class, and the political organization. The Pawnee tribe was divided into four main bands the Chaui or the Great Band , the Kitkahahki or the Republican , the Pirahauerat or the Tappage and the Skiri or the Wolf Pawnee .
