Frederick Douglass And Anne Moody
In 1619, when the first Africans were brought into Jamestown, Virginia to aid in the production of
crops on the farms of Caucasian landowners, a period in our country s dark history began, and with it
a struggle for equality and freedom. For over 200 years, slavery consumed the United States,
compelling blacks to long and later fight for the freedom their fair skinned counterparts had stripped
from them. Decades later, the oppression of black rights marked the beginning of another struggle;
one for basic rights that the black population had been denied. During these struggles, several names
would come to mind for their achievements and efforts against racism and slavery, names like
Frederick Douglass and Anne Moody. Frederick Douglass paved his own road to freedom while Anne
Moody put her life on the line fighting for the rights that she knew she deserved. Although time
frames apart, both Frederick Douglass and Anne Moody were able to resist and fight racism due to
their thirst for knowledge, the help they extended towards other blacks, and their faith in succeeding
despite previous failures. Although Frederick Douglass was a slave and Anne Moody a free woman
with a century between them, both were able to defy racism by making the most of their education.
Slaves were not expected to read or write, and even after the abolition of slavery, blacks were thought
to be uneducated and unintelligent. Frederick Douglass, upon receiving only a short period of
instruction from his

The Benefits of the Bioreactor in Landfills
Bioreactor is a modern landfills introduced in solid waste management, thus this concept are not fully
universally applied yet. The objective of this bioreactor landfills involving disposal solely of inert
materials after universally applied. Therefore, it is likely that landfills will continue to receive a
variety of materials with potential for environmental impact. As the leachable materials are land
disposed, impenetrable barriers are provided and waste stabilization is enhanced and accelerated so as
to occur within the life of these barriers (Lee Jones Lee, 1996). That is, the landfill must be designed
and operated as a bioreactor. This bioreactor landfills is equipped with liners and leachate collection
systems. It operated and controlled to rapidly accelerate the biological stabilization of the land filled
waste. The crucial process in bioreactor landfills is leachate recirculation, which leachate is recycled
back to the landfill, to create the environment favorable to rapid microbial decomposition of the
biodegradable solid waste (Lee Jones Lee, 1996). Additional advantages of the bioreactor landfill
include increased gas production rates over a shorter duration, improved leachate quality, and more
rapid landfill settlement. Instead of that, bioreactor operations protect the environment and reduce
long time liability and associated monitoring costs (Reinhart Townsend, 1997). The rapid treatment of
the waste facilitates the operation of a bioreactor landfill

Essay on Media Effects
Media Effects
The Effects of Media on the Public s Opinion Mass media have you ever taken the time to consider
two articles about the same thing? Some may be more bias against a group or idea, while others keep a
strict, non bias view. The way the media portrays events may change or even corrupt people s thoughts
on certain public matters. This paper will dissect four articles on the Woodstock riots and show the
relationships and differences between them. On a Sunday night, near the closing song of the Red Hot
Chili Peppers, there were a few bonfires were reported. The firefighters, feeling they were under
control, let these bonfires burn. Then Limp Bizkit came on, another hard core band. In their song

(PG 2 para. 3) his statement helped direct the blame at high prices. In the article They Must Have Run
Out of Drugs, the author used a quote by Chris Melnyczenko to help place blame on the disgruntled
youth. Melnyczenko said, They re destroying everything. (Pg. 1 para. 7) Another similar quote by an
unknown person, Oh man they must of run out of drugs, (page 1 2) struck the author so much that he
made it the title. Facts may be different or changed up to help exaggerate the authors or companies
view points in the articles, Is Rock n Rage Replacing Rock n Roll? and Woodstock Gets Ugly. In the
article, Is Rock n Rage Replacing Rock n Roll? the author spends the majority of his writing
comparing the past two Woodstocks to the current one, barely touching on the subject of the riot. The
article only stated what happened and the fact that the blame should be placed on the band, Limp
Bizkit. The band was said to have urged the audience to break stuff. In the other article, Woodstock
Gets Ugly, it is said that placing one hard core band after another could be a mistake and may be the
cause of the riots, or other happening, to be placed on the organizers of the event, the bands or the
audience. This shows how the companies or authors views can be bias against certain groups or ideas
by placing the blame on a single band, but a non bias paper places the blame all around. The

What Are The Effects Of Argumentative Essay On Child Soldiers
In multiple developing countries right now, there are ongoing wars. These battles are greatly affecting
the local communities, but especially the children. Extremist or terrorist groups are forcing these
children to fight for them. The majority of child soldiers are given no choice whether or not they
desire to fight. Therefore, as long as these children show remorse for their actions and are mentally
stable, they should be granted amnesty. Many child soldiers are drugged before going into battle, and
threatened to avoid them running away. If imprisoning them wasn t inhumane enough, this is truly
unacceptable. Some people may think that child soldiers might pose a danger to the public because of
their previous experience in a war zone, but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If a child can not comprehend the idea of death yet, then why would they be able to comprehend how
awful it was to murder someone? This is an advantage for those who desire to use them as soldiers,
but a great disadvantage for the children themselves, or anyone who gets in their way. Fortunately,
many governments have argued that, If a child under the age of 15 is too young to fight, then he or she
must also be considered too young to be held criminally responsible... (Johannesburg, paragraph 6).
This rule of thumb protects those who truly don t yet understand the terrible things that they ve done
and can t be trusted to make large decisions for themselves. However, no matter how many children
are freed, there are always more to use. These soldiers are so effective because of many factors, but
mainly because children are much more easy to manipulate than adults. Said by Ishmael Beah himself,
Everybody asks why do they go after children? Because you can easily manipulate them, (Barnett,
paragraph 19). Even if, miraculously, all child soldiers were set free, they would still be targeted,
which is why they need to be granted amnesty. After all, why train a new soldier when you can just as
easily reclaim an old

Cinematography Research Paper
The Importance of Cinematography
Without studying the details of film, one may ask what is cinematography. Cinematography is the art
of making motion pictures. There are many features that go on in making a film. A cinematographer
has a big role in making the film come together with certain camera movements and lighting elements.
Cinematography is one of the most important aspects of film. People should be more interested in
cinematography because there are so many intricate details that go into making a film special and that
is because of and camera angles and movements, color, and different types of shots.
When breaking down cinematography, a cinematographer should first analyze what he/she wants to do
with the the different shots, scenes, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some of these shots include, extreme close up (ECU), medium shot (MS), establishing shot (ES), and
long shot (LS). Extreme close up is what a person may assume it is. It is used in filmmaking to focus
on a particular detail of a subject. In many cases, ECUs are very intimate and are best used cautiously.
Medium shot, also known as waist shot, is also what it sounds like. It is a shot from a medium distance
and includes the body from the knees or waist up. An establishing shot may be one that people aren t
as familiar with. An establishing shot is a usually long shot in film or video used at the beginning of a
sequence to establish an overview of the scene that follows (Merriam Webster). One other shot a
cinematographer should consider using is a long shot. A LS is a shot from a great distance, which
makes people seem to appear more like shapes then people. This type of shot is used to emphasize the

A Company Review Of Domino s Will Be Presented
Introduction A company review of Domino s will be presented first to give a brief idea about what is
the company doing for business and what s the target. It is essential to know it because it can help to
know if the company has the right strategy and if it might be profitable. Then I will have an industry
review because the profit of the market can explain more of the differences in the large companies
than growth in market share do. A company can still grow despite losing share and take moderate risk
of retaliation if it gain market share in fast growing market. (Koller, 2010:62) So I need to know
whether the overall environment for pizza is positive and improving (for example, if there s an
improving economy with less discounting) After that, I will present the financial position of the
company by analysing its revenue, net operating profit less adjusted taxes(NOPLAT), invested capital
and free cash flow, return on investd capital (ROIC) and other ratios. Some fundamental analysis such
as its growth trend, capitalised operating lease will also be included. Last I will try to point out the
risks of the firm and also some recommendations to the managers. Company overview Domino s

Study Of Bee Colony Optimization Algorithms For Their...
A Novel Study of Bee Colony Optimization Algorithms for their Applications into Various Domains
INTRODUCTION The Bee Colony Optimization (BCO) is a technique based on the mutual
understanding of the natural bees in food foraging process. It is a population based search algorithm
for optimizing numerical problems. Bees are classic example of teamwork experience, coordination
and synchronization. The way they work is remarkable. They carry out a kind of neighborhood search
combined with global search by mimic the food foraging behavior. The foraging strategy of Bees is
used to look for the best solution to an optimization problem. In this process each candidate solution is
considered as food source and a population of Bees is used to search solution space. At each and every
instant a Bee visits a source it evaluates its profitability. It allows meaningful generalization to
optimize various problems by recognizing a profitable solution to complex engineering problems. It
provides an adequate conceptual framework as well as a mathematical tool to depict the real world
problems in an optimized way. It is one of the well know techniques with its successful applications in
various domains. Bee colony optimization technique is recommended above other means of
optimizations because it provides clarity and errors in case of optimal solutions. This algorithm can
also be analyzed as a path structuring algorithm that structure the path from one source to another

The Advanced Practice Nurse Is On The Front Lines Of Care
The advanced practice nurse is on the front lines of care being received or falling short within their
community. By having direct asses to the success and failures of health care in the community, the
advanced practice nurse (APN) can be the voice of patient to the officials having an impact on health
care accessibility. The purpose of this paper is to address a current problem by evaluating multiple
influencing factors and investigate a policy capable of changing and providing a more positive
outcome.
Problem Identification
Men and women serve in the United States armed forces in hopes of receiving the promise of a
dependable income and reliable benefits. The primary influence for those joining the armed forces is
tuition reimbursement followed by health care benefits (Clever, Segal, 2013). The majority of enlisted
military only serve for seven years and often work in minimum wage jobs without health insurance
after departing from the military. Before the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, veterans
could only utilize veteran hospitals and outpatient clinics for military related health problems (United
States Department of Veterans Affairs, 2016). Once the Affordable Care Act was initiated, all veterans
could utilize veteran medical services for any of their health care needs. The problem needing to be
addressed is the number of veteran facilities available to provide treatment for the vast amount of
veterans now qualified for medical services.

primarily be used for consults to product improvement after initial prototypes or for ideas for new
developments. A big problem with its gaming system is that compared to other big name consoles like
the XBOX, its product does not fully utilize it computing power thereby limiting its capabilities. As
consumer needs change the console has gone from being just a simple gaming product to an in home
entertainment system and Sony should push it to it max. This can be said for its mobile offerings are
well as the company fails to optimize its products for premium performance; a fault which has led to
dwindling mobile sales. The company needs to develop its peripheral services such as its TV offerings
as well as other attention holding services which would keep consumers glued to its products. It needs
premium original products and services offered through its devices, thereby tying in at least two of its
big sectors; entertainment and gaming. It is something of a farce that a company as big in the
entertainment world as Sony has only been able to provide one original TV show for its PlayStation
providers whereas companies like Netflix are spending upwards of $6 Billion on content development.
Something Google has done very well is use the data it receives from its product offerings to
continuously develop and advance technology for its consumers. Sony needs to learn to do this as well

Robert Cohn Isolationism
The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway perfectly encapsulates the confused, alienated, and
immoral generation that matured into adults by the end of World War I. Hemingway opens the novel
with the narrator describing a man named Robert Cohn. He was an insecure Jewish boxer from a well
off family. The narrator ponders the reasons for Cohn being a boxer despite not caring much for the
sport. Ultimately, he finds comfort in his conclusion that Robert boxes in order to let off steam, in fact
he says, being very shy and a thoroughly nice boy, he never fought anyone except for in the gym.
Hemingway is setting up Cohn s character as a metaphor for the older generation. Cohn is shown to
have a strict set of morals and believes only resorting to violence when necessary. ... Show more

Robert has not faced the violence that the others have. He, like the older generation, will never
understand the trauma and change brought on by WWI. He assumes he can still move on with the
morals taught to him by his parents, and their parents before them, despite all that has happened.
Correspondingly, Harding s presidency was founded on the same idea, a Return to normalcy . This is
proven wrong when Cohn breaks and attacks Jake, even though Jake had done nothing wrong to him.
This directly contradicted Cohn s beliefs and left him confused and upset. Afterwards, Jake returns to
the hotel to find Robert crying in the dark. He asks to shake Jake s hand through his tears. This is
representative of the shattering of previous beliefs and the desperate measures to get them back in the
early 1920 s. Cohn resorts to what he knows, despite it not fixing his actions. The damage had been
done, and no amount of pretending could change

The purpose of island biogeography is to help take a closer look at the speciation of animals on
mainland landscapes, and compare them to surrounding islands that separated from the mainland. In
this study, the focus is on avian birds and the differences in landscape make up that can influence
speciation. The differences can possibly lead to populations of different species settling apart from one
another, maybe leading to the extinction of one species and the thriving of another. Although island
geography has been a useful tool, it has also been questioned, leading to a new tool: countryside
biogeography. In Wolfe et al. (2015) it is explained how countryside geography is a tool that can be

Essay On Cash Advance
What Is a Cash Advance?
Within the industry, a cash advance is essentially the same as a payday loan. The loan amounts are
similar, typically less than $500 although some lenders offer larger loans. The loans are usually repaid
in a lump sum; repayment may be scheduled 14 to 30 days after the loan is finalized. Cash advances
are sometimes called paycheck advances, personal cash advances or payday cash advances.
Whether the lender chooses to call the product a cash advance or a payday loan depends on the lender
s preference and may reflect the company s history. Many lenders making these types of loans from
physical stores chose to emphasize that borrowers received their loans in cash rather than a check.
Today, however, borrowers can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The exact loan term depends on the lender, the amount borrowed and any applicable state laws.
Many payday lenders offer installment loans for people with bad credit as well as installment loans
online. The loan amounts, qualifications and interest rates vary by lender, but as rule, the loan amounts
are more generous than for short term loans requiring repayment in a lump sum.
What Is a Personal Loan
Basically, any loan obtained for non business reasons could be considered a personal loan. However,
within the short term loan industry, the term commonly refers to an unsecured loan. Secured loans are
backed by collateral that the lender can seize should the borrower default on the loan; mortgages, car
loans, title loans and pawned merchandise are all examples of secured loans. Borrowers obtaining
unsecured personal loans do not pledge collateral, so lenders have only the borrower s word that he or
she will repay the loan. These loans are sometimes called signature loans.
Since lenders take greater risks when making unsecured personal loans, they may have different
requirements than they do for pay day loans. They may run a credit check to determine the borrower s
credit score and payment history, but most lenders base their decision on more than just the borrower s
official credit report. Many lenders offer no credit personal loans as well as personal loans for

Before the scientific revolution, controversy, alienation, and even imprisonment was what many new

controversy. Their early negative response has since then led many to believe religion clashes with
science and obstructs the understanding of the natural world. However, faith and knowledge have been
wrongly separated into two different groups and their cohesiveness has been over looked. This will be

It is from these observations that connections with another worldly phenomenon are able to be made.
Religions, such as Buddhism, encourages the appreciation of the natural world and teaches the
interconnectedness of everything . Matsuo Basho s poem The Narrow Road to the Interior , is a
perfect example of this point. In his poem, Basho vividly describes all that he encounters on his
journey with excerpts such as Twenty miles north of Sakata Harbor, as we walked the sandy shore
beneath mountains where sea winds wander, a storm came up at dusk and covered Mount Chokai in
mist and rain reminiscent of Su Tung p o s famous poem (Basho 302). It is clear Basho was greatly
impacted by the sights he came across on his path, but through his haikus he also made connections to
previously visited locations, sights, and other poems. As illustrated and explained, Basho s poem
embodies the Buddhist idea of interconnectedness. By relating past sights and text to what he is
seeing, Basho is connecting different aspects of the natural world and ultimately finding beauty in
nature and beauty in what it reminds him of. Basho ends his poem tired but with heavy desire to see
Ise Shrine. He compares himself to a freshly stripped clam beginning another journey through Futami
Bay. The metaphor for a spiritual

The Politics Of The Global Essay
INTRODUCTION
The Politics of the Global gives us a narration of how development of international political economy
happens and an understanding of globalization. Globalization is frequently analyzed independently
and the author shows how globalization plays out in two multi cultural democracies; India and USA. It
portrays different political possibilities like colonial coercion, post colonial ambivalence and post
colonial co option that are opened by global relays of meanings, identities and power from historically
different locations. Globalization also explores a variety of spaces and strategies for resisting the
colonization of the global. The author identifies bureaucratic delays and red tape that happens in
government of India as the same of a business man who uses technology to improve productivity and
is professional in his approach. It focuses on reconstructing the state s economy and its government
using the SMART simple, moral, accountable, responsive and transparent governance argument. He
characterizes globalization into three narratives; the rationalist, historical materialist and the
constructivist approaches. Each narrative consists of many theories some of them disagreeing with
each other but at the end of the day, each narrative is united through shared models of understanding
and explanation that seeks to go beyond the international to access the global (Muppidi, 2004, p.3).

Inflammatory Bowel Disease in Pets and Companion Animals
Inflammatory bowel disease or IBD is actually not just one disease, but a catchall term for a group of
gastrointestinal diseases that result in the inflammation of the gastrointestinal system and a variety of
symptoms. This is true for both dogs and cats. And, while the exact cause of ... Show more content on

The food allergens thought to trigger the condition include meat proteins, milk proteins, artificial
coloring or other additives and preservatives and gluten from wheat and other grains. Some dog
breeds are more likely to develop IBD than others. These include French bulldogs, Irish setters,
lundehunds, and basenjis.
Signs and Effects of IBD in Pets
Cats and dogs both exhibit similar symptoms when struggling with IBD. Common signs of IBD in
pets are vomiting diarrhea, weight loss, abnormal appetite, and lack of energy, blood in the stool,
flatulence, borborygmus, or a rumbling in the guts, depression, fatigue, abdominal pain, and distressed
coat.
Diagnosis of IBD
Unfortunately, getting a definitive diagnosis of IBD can be very difficult. Many of the signs and
symptoms of IBD mirror those of a great many other diseases. Your veterinarian will want to get a
detailed history from you and as much information as you can give them regarding the symptoms you
ve observed, their duration, and severity. They are then likely to run a series of blood tests and
examine your pet s feces. An ultrasound or X rays may be order to check on the status of other organs.
Metabolic disease, parasitic infection, bacterial infection, some types of cancers, and (in the case of
cats) feline leukemia will all need to be ruled out prior to a diagnosis. A food trial utilizing a

Billy Collins Research Paper
Sarah Smith

3 May 2016
Billy Collins Billy Collins is among the most well known and important poets in Untied States
literature. His use of plain language, humor, fascination with the ordinary, and his clear
acknowledgment of the mundane are just some of the attributes that make his work instantly
recognizable. Collins ability to write poetry was evident at an early age. He wrote his first poem at the
age of 12 and went on to join the literary magazine of his high school (Cunningham). Collins has
earned numerous literary degrees including a Bachelor in Arts from College of the Holy Cross in
Worcester, Massachusetts, and a doctorate in Romantic poetry from the University of California,
Riverside, in 1971. Collins ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The general consensus across the realm of literary critics is typically positive towards his work.
Literary critic Dwight Garner describes Collins work as being great and easily relatable to every day
life. This is mainly because Collins uses humor to cope with the pain and chaos of life. Garner also
mentions that his poems are clean, suburban, antiseptic and compares him to Walter Mitty and Jerry
Seinfeld (Garner). Frank Pool, another literary critic, looks favorably upon the work of Collins and
describes him as being the first genuinely popular American poet since Robert Frost. Another pro of
his writings as described by Pool is that he combines the mundane with the mysterious (Pool); two
qualities not often found used in conjunction with one another. At the beginning of his writing career,
Collins work was slow to be widely accepted as being significant in the literary world. It wasn t until
the he became the poet laureate at the beginning of the millennia that he and his contributions gained
the wide recognition they deserved. Throughout his entire collection of works, he has held a constant
number of constants; an example being the extensively mundane nature of such. This theme has been
regarded essentially the same throughout his professional writing career by literary critics with little to

Leadership Is The Best Leadership
Leadership is fundamental to every successful process known to mankind. There must always be
someone who is willing to initiate the first step, and by example, others are given inspiration or
purpose to follow suit. Though many definitions exist, Josh Kuehler captures the essence of leadership
in business by noting Leadership is the ability to inspire motivation in others to move toward a
desirable vision. While management is focused on tasks, leadership is focused on the person. All in
all, the best leadership drives change and long lasting motivation. (Helmrich, 2015, p. 1) Given the
thousands of leadership definitions, why did I choose this one? Because it clearly highlights a clear
difference between leadership and management. Leadership is about people, not about processes, and
people enable a strong ethics program. Therefore, my belief is that leadership, not management is the
primary catalyst behind a flexible yet sustainable ethics program in any organization, private or public.
Whether establishing, modifying, or cultivating a successful ethics program, leadership involvement at
all levels of an organization is absolutely paramount.
I ll use our very own United States Air Force as an example, as I spent 23 years in the organization. I
feel confident that I can demonstrate how the Air Force has adapted the seven Federal Sentencing
Guidelines for Organizations (FSGO) requirements of an effective compliance and ethics program.

The pairing of the colors gave me an underlying suggestion between the two. The entryway aids in the
view of this large universe, and the many opportunities it has to offer, opportunities many can
visualize, believe, and could be achieved. The door is of realistic proportion, however, it looks quite
miniscule within the composition, but still powerful. The focal point of The Metaphorest Project is a
larger than life size male face, built up through a bed of sunflowers, to the right of the green tree. At
first glance, the face is stunning and majestic due to the mosaic, 3 D construction. The materials used
where small pieces of reflective ceramic or glass. Every small piece was aligned to emphasize the
realistic curves of the facial features, excluding the painted eyeball itself. The eyes where delicately

the pupil. The face was more of a masculine shape, broad facial structure, strong jaw line, and had a

being shown as part of a project. To either side there are boys with ladders leaned against the face, and

Comparisons Between Hurricane Sandy And Hurricane Katrina
Comparisons between Hurricane Sandy and Hurricane Katrina Hurricanes are formed over tropical
waters. These intense storms consist of winds over 74 miles per hour (Ahrens Sampson, 2011). The
storms addressed here are Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Sandy. This paper will explore the
contrasts and comparisons between these two horrific storms.
Year of Occurrence
Hurricane Katrina Hurricane Katrina occurred in the year 2005; it made landfall on the morning of
August 29th. However, the origins of this storm began as early as August 24, 2005. In the course of
those six days, Hurricane Katrina varied in location and intensity before making final landfall on the
southeast portion of the United States (Ahrens Sampson, 2011).

This decrease in intensity as Hurricane Katrina approached the southern United States was a result of
the replacement of the storm s eyewall. As the storm moved from the warm waters of the Loop current
in the direction of the shore, rainstorms within Katrina robbed the eye of the storm of moisture. This
process caused the replacement of the eye, and the reduction to the category three storm that made
landfall in the vicinity of Buras, Louisiana on the morning of August 29, 2005. At this point,
Hurricane Katrina s storm surge was greater than 20 feet high. Though Buras, Louisiana was the
location of landfall, Hurricane Katrina s reach was much more vast: rampaging winds and the
destruction of levees only added to the ruin this storm caused (Ahrens Sampson, 2011).
Hurricane Sandy Hurricane Sandy made a devastating landfall along the coast of New Jersey
(McCallum, Wicklein, Reiser, Busciolano, Morrison, Verdi, Painter Frantz, 2012). However, the origin
of the hurricane was quite removed from that location. The core instigation of Hurricane Sandy
originated off of the west coast of Africa in the southwestern Caribbean Sea. It started off rather weak,
a category one on the Saffir Simpson s scale. The storm became a stronger category three as it moved
towards the island of Cuba, and then weakened to a category one again as it traveled north through the
Bahamas. On the journey from the Bahamas to the

autism symptoms and related abnormal behaviors (Meguid, 2015, June 15). The specific intake of the
diets can cause considerable improvements in the child s life. If an Autistic child can be placed on one
of the diets it can prevent digestive issues and reduce Autistic symptoms.
Gluten free, Casein free, Soy free Diet
The gluten free, casein free, soy free diet can improve Autistic children s lives. The GFCFSF is known
as the Autism Diet. It has helped many people with autism spectrum disorders improve their health
and functioning. ASD children usually limit their diet to a few things. Once children are the diet, they
expand their food to include more nutritional choices (Bortfeld, 2017, May 14). These healthier
choices improve the overall nourishment of the child. The nutritional selection also helps with health
issues the child may be suffering from. Research by Dr. Harumi Jyonouchi shows that 91% of people

behaviors (Bortfeld, 2017, May 14). The diet can have a positive affect Gastrointestinal (GI) problems

Planned Parenthood is affordable, the program takes a patient whether they have insurance or not, not

Texas is one of the states that cut funds for Planned Parenthood. After Texas defunded the clinic, a
survey of 300 pregnant women who were seeking abortions in Texas said that they were unable to
access the birth control that they wanted to use in the three months before pregnancy. (Amanda J.
Stevenson).
According to the article, Political Attacks on Planned Parenthood Are a Threat to Women s Health for
some people, Planned Parenthood has come to symbolize abortion, which it has provided since 1970.
But in all the rhetoric, facts have sometimes gone missing. For example, Senator Jon Kyl of Arizona
declared on the floor of the Senate that abortion accounts for well over 90 percent of what Planned
Parenthood does. That figure is actually 3 percent. Planned Parenthood clinics perform one in four
abortions in the U.S. but use no federal funds for this practice. To some abortion opponents, that 3
percent is reason enough to gut the organization. If a future Congress and White House were to do so,
however, it would drive women once again into the back alleys, without necessarily decreasing the
number of abortions. Stripping Planned Parenthood of federal funding would also sacrifice the 97
percent of its public health work that has nothing to do with abortion, from which many people benefit
directly. One in five American women have used the group s services, and three out of four

Solar Renewable Energy System
In brewing industry, 80% of overall final energy consumption is used in the form of thermal energy
where solar thermal can be used for brewing processes as below: steam generation, malting process,
stopping germination of grains, air cooling, conservation with hot air, power supplying of washing
machines, wither and kiln processes. Malting plants and breweries consume heat for their thermally
driven processes at temperature level ranges between 25°C to 120°C. It seems feasible to supply heat
at this temperature level which is not higher than the actual amount required but in reality the it is
often decided by the consumer which needs the highest temperature. The integration of solar
renewable energy system is necessary to reduce the exergy losses and CO2 emissions [17,21,24,25].
To utilize the organic matter from brewing residues, optimized heat recovery can supply its thermal
energy demand over resources. Theoretically, the full energy potential is not utilized so the pathway is
the conventional means of energy. However, the conversion of heat from energy gained from
renewable energy resources can ensure environment friendly beer production process for future. To
increase the overall energy efficiency, the integration of solar heat energy gained from solar thermal
collector technologies can be considered as a prospective alternative to fulfill the demands of typical
low temperature process heat.

Marketing is defined as the activities of a company associated with buying and selling a product or

marketing departments of companies try to get the attention of target audiences by using slogans,
packaging design, celebrity endorsements and general media exposure. One of the most mainstream
tactics to market a product to a potential target market is by using TV commercials. The elements of

The Importance Of Morality In Homer s Odyssey
The overall point of Homer s Odyssey is to teach Greek morals and social behaviors through heroic
tales featuring the main character, Odysseus, and the struggles he must go through to return to, and
defend, his wife and family. Ancient Greek culture idolized strong, fearless warriors, an idea that is
prevalent among most Greek mythology, especially the Odyssey. If it had not have been for Odysseus
bravery he would not have been able to overcome the obstacles that stood in his path towards home.
While Odysseus is exercising his bravery, his wife, Penelope, and son are trapped in their home with
men who hope to marry Penelope. Homer preys on the suitors disrespectful behavior to teach humility
and respect. Conversely, Homer s teaching of hospitality illustrates the ideal host. Even when their
guests are unwanted, Telemachus and Penelope play the role of hosts and offer food, drink, and a
place to sleep for all of their guests. Nearly everywhere Odysseus goes, the practice of hospitality is
held in utmost reverence. Through teachings of bravery, respect, and hospitality, Homer is able to
weave a series of epic tales, and create the image of quintessential Greek morality.
Bravery is taught to be a virtue in the Odyssey, due to the solutions of most conflicts within the story
being violent. Bravery was thought also to affect people in the afterlife, therefore the concept of the
fearless warrior was driven by the fear of what would happen to the cowardly. Odysseus fearlessness
is what drives the plot, from escaping the cyclops island to facing phantoms in Hades. Midway
through the story, Odysseus leaves Circe s island and travels to the underworld to consult a prophet.
On page 126, Tieresias the blind prophet tells Odysseus, You seek to return home, and home is sweet
as honey... you will find trouble in your house... you shall exact retribution from these men. Odysseus
did not know what awaited him at his home in Ithaca until that point. This shows that as soon as he
was presented with the information, Odysseus interpreted one option, which was violence. When
Odysseus finally made it home and the time came to be rid of Penelope s unwanted suitors, he
slaughtered them all. Once Odysseus and Telemachus were

Fosfomycin Resistance Against Salmonella Species
A group of researchers from Canada have discovered that there is a gene that confines an antibody
from Salmonella. They discovered that this gene is found in broiler chickens. Broiler chickens aren t
used as much for egg production. These chickens are known for being raised on farms and then
butchered for meat. The researchers took their information and published a journal where the
information and research can be found. The gene itself is named fosA7; it got its name because it
carries a high level of resistance to fosfomycin. A common use to fosfomycin is an antibiotic and is
commonly used to help women cure their urinary tract infections. The 7 is fosA7 represents that it is
the seventh of the fosA genes that have been discovered. As of now fosfomycin resistance is limited

Diarra, is a research scientist in Food Safety at Agriculture and Agri Food Canada. Diarra said, The
powerful resistance the fosA7 gene confers is worrisome. It could spread among different Salmonella

of fosfomycin in both clinical and veterinary settings. Thus, vigilant monitoring for the spread of
fosfomycin resistance in bacteria, isolated from humans and animals, is needed. Because of what
Diarra said, many researchers wanted to test to see the strength of the resistance. For the researchers to

  • 2. Frederick Douglass And Anne Moody In 1619, when the first Africans were brought into Jamestown, Virginia to aid in the production of crops on the farms of Caucasian landowners, a period in our country s dark history began, and with it a struggle for equality and freedom. For over 200 years, slavery consumed the United States, compelling blacks to long and later fight for the freedom their fair skinned counterparts had stripped from them. Decades later, the oppression of black rights marked the beginning of another struggle; one for basic rights that the black population had been denied. During these struggles, several names would come to mind for their achievements and efforts against racism and slavery, names like Frederick Douglass and Anne Moody. Frederick Douglass paved his own road to freedom while Anne Moody put her life on the line fighting for the rights that she knew she deserved. Although time frames apart, both Frederick Douglass and Anne Moody were able to resist and fight racism due to their thirst for knowledge, the help they extended towards other blacks, and their faith in succeeding despite previous failures. Although Frederick Douglass was a slave and Anne Moody a free woman with a century between them, both were able to defy racism by making the most of their education. Slaves were not expected to read or write, and even after the abolition of slavery, blacks were thought to be uneducated and unintelligent. The objective of this bioreactor landfills involving disposal solely of inert materials after universally applied. Therefore, it is likely that landfills will continue to receive a variety of materials with potential for environmental impact. As the leachable materials are land disposed, impenetrable barriers are provided and waste stabilization is enhanced and accelerated so as to occur within the life of these barriers (Lee Jones Lee, 1996). That is, the landfill must be designed and operated as a bioreactor. This bioreactor landfills is equipped with liners and leachate collection systems. It operated and controlled to rapidly accelerate the biological stabilization of the land filled waste. The crucial process in bioreactor landfills is leachate recirculation, which leachate is recycled back to the landfill, to create the environment favorable to rapid microbial decomposition of the biodegradable solid waste (Lee Jones Lee, 1996). Additional advantages of the bioreactor landfill include increased gas production rates over a shorter duration, improved leachate quality, and more rapid landfill settlement. Instead of that, bioreactor operations protect the environment and reduce long time liability and associated monitoring costs (Reinhart Townsend, 1997). • 5. Essay on Media Effects Media Effects The Effects of Media on the Public s Opinion Mass media have you ever taken the time to consider two articles about the same thing? Some may be more bias against a group or idea, while others keep a strict, non bias view. The way the media portrays events may change or even corrupt people s thoughts on certain public matters. This paper will dissect four articles on the Woodstock riots and show the relationships and differences between them. On a Sunday night, near the closing song of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, there were a few bonfires were reported. The firefighters, feeling they were under control, let these bonfires burn. Then Limp Bizkit came on, another hard core band. In their song Breakstuff, the audience climbed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (PG 2 para. 3) his statement helped direct the blame at high prices. In the article They Must Have Run Out of Drugs, the author used a quote by Chris Melnyczenko to help place blame on the disgruntled youth. Melnyczenko said, They re destroying everything. (Pg. 1 para. 7) Another similar quote by an unknown person, Oh man they must of run out of drugs, (page 1 2) struck the author so much that he made it the title. Facts may be different or changed up to help exaggerate the authors or companies view points in the articles, Is Rock n Rage Replacing Rock n Roll? and Woodstock Gets Ugly. In the article, Is Rock n Rage Replacing Rock n Roll? the author spends the majority of his writing comparing the past two Woodstocks to the current one, barely touching on the subject of the riot. The article only stated what happened and the fact that the blame should be placed on the band, Limp Bizkit. The band was said to have urged the audience to break stuff. In the other article, Woodstock Gets Ugly, it is said that placing one hard core band after another could be a mistake and may be the cause of the riots, or other happening, to be placed on the organizers of the event, the bands or the audience. This shows how the companies or authors views can be bias against certain groups or ideas by placing the blame on a single band, but a non bias paper places the blame all around. • 6. What Are The Effects Of Argumentative Essay On Child Soldiers In multiple developing countries right now, there are ongoing wars. These battles are greatly affecting the local communities, but especially the children. Extremist or terrorist groups are forcing these children to fight for them. The majority of child soldiers are given no choice whether or not they desire to fight. Therefore, as long as these children show remorse for their actions and are mentally stable, they should be granted amnesty. Many child soldiers are drugged before going into battle, and threatened to avoid them running away. If imprisoning them wasn t inhumane enough, this is truly unacceptable. Some people may think that child soldiers might pose a danger to the public because of their previous experience in a war zone, but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If a child can not comprehend the idea of death yet, then why would they be able to comprehend how awful it was to murder someone? This is an advantage for those who desire to use them as soldiers, but a great disadvantage for the children themselves, or anyone who gets in their way. Fortunately, many governments have argued that, If a child under the age of 15 is too young to fight, then he or she must also be considered too young to be held criminally responsible... (Johannesburg, paragraph 6). This rule of thumb protects those who truly don t yet understand the terrible things that they ve done and can t be trusted to make large decisions for themselves. However, no matter how many children are freed, there are always more to use. These soldiers are so effective because of many factors, but mainly because children are much more easy to manipulate than adults. Said by Ishmael Beah himself, Everybody asks why do they go after children? Because you can easily manipulate them, (Barnett, paragraph 19). Even if, miraculously, all child soldiers were set free, they would still be targeted, which is why they need to be granted amnesty. After all, why train a new soldier when you can just as easily reclaim an old ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A Novel Study of Bee Colony Optimization Algorithms for their Applications into Various Domains INTRODUCTION The Bee Colony Optimization (BCO) is a technique based on the mutual understanding of the natural bees in food foraging process. It is a population based search algorithm for optimizing numerical problems. Bees are classic example of teamwork experience, coordination and synchronization. The way they work is remarkable. They carry out a kind of neighborhood search combined with global search by mimic the food foraging behavior. The foraging strategy of Bees is used to look for the best solution to an optimization problem. In this process each candidate solution is considered as food source and a population of Bees is used to search solution space. At each and every instant a Bee visits a source it evaluates its profitability. It allows meaningful generalization to optimize various problems by recognizing a profitable solution to complex engineering problems. It provides an adequate conceptual framework as well as a mathematical tool to depict the real world problems in an optimized way. It is one of the well know techniques with its successful applications in various domains. There must always be someone who is willing to initiate the first step, and by example, others are given inspiration or purpose to follow suit. While management is focused on tasks, leadership is focused on the person. All in all, the best leadership drives change and long lasting motivation. If an Autistic child can be placed on one of the diets it can prevent digestive issues and reduce Autistic symptoms. Gluten free, Casein free, Soy free Diet The gluten free, casein free, soy free diet can improve Autistic children s lives. The GFCFSF is known as the Autism Diet. It has helped many people with autism spectrum disorders improve their health and functioning. ASD children usually limit their diet to a few things. Once children are the diet, they expand their food to include more nutritional choices (Bortfeld, 2017, May 14). These healthier choices improve the overall nourishment of the child. The nutritional selection also helps with health issues the child may be suffering from. Research by Dr. Harumi Jyonouchi shows that 91% of people with ASD... who tried a GFCFSF diet reported improvements in GI symptoms and some autistic behaviors (Bortfeld, 2017, May 14). The diet can have a positive affect Gastrointestinal (GI) problems and behaviors associated with Autism. These diets can improve an Autistic child and their parent s way of life in many ways. • 31. Parenthood Is Affordable, The United States Department Of... Many men and women in America don t have insurance or simply cannot afford health care. Planned Parenthood does have professional doctors who specialized in many reproductive health services. Planned Parenthood is affordable, the program takes a patient whether they have insurance or not, not only that, they charge you by how much income you make. Low income Americans have access to these services too. The United States Department of Health, Education and Welfare, for example, created a federal program to provide poor, married women with birth control. After Texas defunded the clinic, a survey of 300 pregnant women who were seeking abortions in Texas said that they were unable to access the birth control that they wanted to use in the three months before pregnancy. (Amanda J. Stevenson). According to the article, Political Attacks on Planned Parenthood Are a Threat to Women s Health for some people, Planned Parenthood has come to symbolize abortion, which it has provided since 1970. But in all the rhetoric, facts have sometimes gone missing. For example, Senator Jon Kyl of Arizona declared on the floor of the Senate that abortion accounts for well over 90 percent of what Planned Parenthood does. That figure is actually 3 percent. Planned Parenthood clinics perform one in four abortions in the U.S. but use no federal funds for this practice. To some abortion opponents, that 3 percent is reason enough to gut the organization. If a future Congress and White House were to do so, however, it would drive women once again into the back alleys, without necessarily decreasing the number of abortions. Stripping Planned Parenthood of federal funding would also sacrifice the 97 percent of its public health work that has nothing to do with abortion, from which many people benefit directly. Solar Renewable Energy System In brewing industry, 80% of overall final energy consumption is used in the form of thermal energy where solar thermal can be used for brewing processes as below: steam generation, malting process, stopping germination of grains, air cooling, conservation with hot air, power supplying of washing machines, wither and kiln processes. Malting plants and breweries consume heat for their thermally driven processes at temperature level ranges between 25°C to 120°C. It seems feasible to supply heat at this temperature level which is not higher than the actual amount required but in reality the it is often decided by the consumer which needs the highest temperature. The integration of solar renewable energy system is necessary to reduce the exergy losses and CO2 emissions [17,21,24,25]. To utilize the organic matter from brewing residues, optimized heat recovery can supply its thermal energy demand over resources. Theoretically, the full energy potential is not utilized so the pathway is the conventional means of energy. However, the conversion of heat from energy gained from renewable energy resources can ensure environment friendly beer production process for future. • 40. The Importance Of Morality In Homer s Odyssey The overall point of Homer s Odyssey is to teach Greek morals and social behaviors through heroic tales featuring the main character, Odysseus, and the struggles he must go through to return to, and defend, his wife and family. Ancient Greek culture idolized strong, fearless warriors, an idea that is prevalent among most Greek mythology, especially the Odyssey. If it had not have been for Odysseus bravery he would not have been able to overcome the obstacles that stood in his path towards home. While Odysseus is exercising his bravery, his wife, Penelope, and son are trapped in their home with men who hope to marry Penelope. Homer preys on the suitors disrespectful behavior to teach humility and respect. Conversely, Homer s teaching of hospitality illustrates the ideal host. Even when their guests are unwanted, Telemachus and Penelope play the role of hosts and offer food, drink, and a place to sleep for all of their guests. Nearly everywhere Odysseus goes, the practice of hospitality is held in utmost reverence. Through teachings of bravery, respect, and hospitality, Homer is able to weave a series of epic tales, and create the image of quintessential Greek morality. Bravery is taught to be a virtue in the Odyssey, due to the solutions of most conflicts within the story being violent. Bravery was thought also to affect people in the afterlife, therefore the concept of the fearless warrior was driven by the fear of what would happen to the cowardly. Odysseus fearlessness is what drives the plot, from escaping the cyclops island to facing phantoms in Hades. Midway through the story, Odysseus leaves Circe s island and travels to the underworld to consult a prophet. On page 126, Tieresias the blind prophet tells Odysseus, You seek to return home, and home is sweet as honey... you will find trouble in your house... you shall exact retribution from these men. Odysseus did not know what awaited him at his home in Ithaca until that point. This shows that as soon as he was presented with the information, Odysseus interpreted one option, which was violence. When Odysseus finally made it home and the time came to be rid of Penelope s unwanted suitors, he slaughtered them all. Once Odysseus and Telemachus were ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. Fosfomycin Resistance Against Salmonella Species A group of researchers from Canada have discovered that there is a gene that confines an antibody from Salmonella. They discovered that this gene is found in broiler chickens. Broiler chickens aren t used as much for egg production. These chickens are known for being raised on farms and then butchered for meat. The researchers took their information and published a journal where the information and research can be found. The gene itself is named fosA7; it got its name because it carries a high level of resistance to fosfomycin. A common use to fosfomycin is an antibiotic and is commonly used to help women cure their urinary tract infections. The 7 is fosA7 represents that it is the seventh of the fosA genes that have been discovered. As of now fosfomycin resistance is limited against Salmonella species. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Diarra, is a research scientist in Food Safety at Agriculture and Agri Food Canada. Diarra said, The powerful resistance the fosA7 gene confers is worrisome. It could spread among different Salmonella species, as well as other bacterial pathogen species, via horizontal gene transfer, due to increased use of fosfomycin in both clinical and veterinary settings. Thus, vigilant monitoring for the spread of fosfomycin resistance in bacteria, isolated from humans and animals, is needed. Because of what Diarra said, many researchers wanted to test to see the strength of the resistance. For the researchers to test the strength of this gene they had to clone it and place it into the chromosome that was non antibiotic resistant. The chromosome that they were placing the chromosomes into was Salmonella Enterica. After reviewing their results, they found that their hypothesis was correct.
