→ A resource is something that can be used for some benefit or to
make a profit. Resources can be natural materials (such as gold or
water), wealth (money, property, financial assets), or support
(workers, informal networks).
→ The resources needed to run a business can include land, capital,
raw materials, machines, time, energy, manpower, management,
knowledge, expertise, and information.

TYPES OF RESOURCES
TYPES OF RESOURCES
→ Universally, there are considered three main types of resources under
which all the other types are situated. The three kinds are natural;
man-made; human.
Types of Resources
Natural resources
Man made
resources
Human resources
NATURAL RESOURCE
These are the resources that are found
in the environment and are developed
without the intervention of humans.
Common examples of natural
resources include air, sunlight, water,
soil, stone, plants, animals and fossil
fuels.
natural resources
Two types of natural resources
Renewable resources
→ The resources which cannot
be exhausted even a er
continuous utilisation are
termed renewable resources.
Examples of renewable
resources are the sun, wind,
and tidal energy
non- renewable resources
→ The resources which cannot
be immediately replaced once
they are depleted are called
non-renewable resources.
Examples of non-renewable
resources include fossil fuels,
such as coal, petroleum,
natural gas and rare minerals
typically found in meteorites.
Man-made Resources
This can be seen as something humans have cra ed
for a source of energy or power. A prime example
could be solar energy as this was created and made
by a human, such as solar panels and wind turbines
to create electricity and energy. Other examples can
be cement, wood and metal as they are used to make
homes and buildings. Man-made resources mostly as
a whole can be renewed as they can be ‘fixed’, such
as a cracked wall can be filled or patched up by a
person who completed the work in the first place.
Human resources
Human resources (HR) is the set of
people who make up the workforce
of an organization, business sector,
industry, or economy. A narrower
concept is human capital, the
knowledge and skills which the
individuals command. Similar
terms include manpower, labor, or
personnel.
