Deceit by the Freemasons
One of the most controversial topics that seems interesting and occurs now on
Earth is that people are being exploited and deceived. Earth is being assaulted and
destructed day after day by one organization. The organization was created in
1717. They do not pray only for the father of Hebrew Scriptures, they worship the
old gods of old mysteries. They believe that god was human and have created Jesus
(Keohane, n.d). They were planning on achieving their goals. One of their goals is
to dominate the whole world by forming one government and to put the whole blame
on the Jews in order that people will fall into the trap of following the Brotherhood
Moreover, they re aiming to take on or conquer the temple mount in Jerusalem,
reconstruct it, then start what their work on what they are aiming for (Levin, n.d). It
was introduced first in North America but its origins scheme was in England
(Stewart, n.d). In addition, it was introduced by the liberal, and planned to vanish the
flourishing Romanian lodges (Clark, 2012). This organization is called Freemasonry.
Freemasonry is a fraternal organization that traces its origins to the local
communities of stonemasons. Freemasonry isn t a religion, but when you read
about it you ll find information from people who oppose masonry because they
believe it s a religion (Fannin, n.d), all men of religion is accepted but they must
believe in Deity. It s also a structure of Christianity, and a principle of faith (Hall,
n.d). Freemasonry was

William Shakespeare s Twelfth Night And Sheridan s The...
The theme of love is central to the attitudes in both Shakespeare s Twelfth Night and
Sheridan s The Rivals . Both playwrights highlight the different kinds of love and
portray these through each character s experience with the emotion. In both plays,
the complexity of love is embodied by deception which demonstrates how easily our
feelings can be manipulated, which is also conveyed through comedy. Shakespeare
mocks the main character s idea s of loveby showing how the devotion that connects
siblings and servants to masters prove more constant than any of the romantic bonds
amongst the other characters. Throughout this piece I am going to discuss not only
the techniques that are used to present the theme of love, but also how both... Show

This not only alerts us to Orsino s disturbing ideas about love, but also shows us
how erotic desire is linked to violence and self indulgence. Orsino is more
concerned with himself as a lover than with the object of his love, suggesting he is a
narcissist; implying that with false love comes self love.
There is no woman s sides
Can bide the beating of so strong a passion
This declarative implies there is no woman strong enough to to withhold the intense
passion felt by Orsino. The harsh alliterative plosives used in the violent metaphor
bide the beating portray an almost misogynistic attitude again conveying that his
ability to love is more important to him than being in love.
In the opening scene, he imagines himself as the king of Olivia s mind and heart
which suggests a marital hierarchy rather than mutuality. This suggests that Orsino s
perceptions of love are superficial, and again enforces a misogynistic attitude.
Similarly, in The Rivals , the character Lydia Languish is a creature of romantic
sensibility. The alveolal laterals in her name create an alluring sound hinting at her
desire for romance. One of the prominent themes in the play is that of the 18th
century opposition between courtship s means and objective: falling in love and
marriage. Lydia s guardian Mrs Malaprop wishes for Lydia to have an arranged
marriage; to gain

Vaginal yeast infections are very common with women. The symptoms include:
soreness and redness in the vaginal area, white, clumpy vaginal discharge that has a
similar look to cottage cheese, painful intercourse and extreme itching in the
vaginal area. Yeast infection is possible in men but with mostly uncircumcised
men. The symptoms of men include itching or burning on the tip of the penis and
red rash on penis. Sexual partner can be infected by yeast infection if untreated.
Fortunately, there are many over the counter treatments for yeast infections
available. Creams are available as a treatment and also a physician may
recommend a single, 150 milligram dose of Diflucan (fluconazole). It is very
important to see a physician rather than self diagnosing. If the infection returns it is
possible that antifungal medicine is needed to be taken everyday for 10 to 14 days
and then once a week for 6 months. If a person frequently get yeast infection a
physician would further look into this matter to see what exactly is causing the
reoccurrence. A physician may suggest that you take a probiotic. Probiotic are known

The Importance Of Greenhouse Gases In New York City
Almost three fourths of New York City s greenhouse gas emissions come from
heating, cooling and powering buildings, making buildings more energy efficient is
installation of well insulated exterior walls that reduce heating and cooling demands,
lowering home heating and air conditioning bills and potentially reduce energy
consumption. The policy will allow existing buildings to add external insulation
within the property line, while exempting it from floor area calculations and yard
and open space regulations. The floor area of a building is the sum of the gross
area of each floor of the building, excluding mechanical space, cellar space, floor
space in open balconies, elevators or stair bulkheads and, in most zoning districts,

Dr. Hart s Family Receipt And Cookbook
Dr. Hart s Family Receipt and Cookbook is a combination of different technologies
coming together to create a new innovation. The pamphlet includes haphazard stitch
binding, a glued on cover, flimsy paper, and black and white sketch images, which all
interplay into the appearance of the cookbook. The production of the bookis a result of
many processes and instruments starting with the type of paper produced from wood
pulp, the use of a typewriter, then the etching of the pictures, and finally the coptic
binding of the pamphlet, which all contribute to the variety of technologies involved
in creating this cookbook. The base of not only Dr. Hart s Family Receipt and

Hart s Family Receipt and Cookbook. Created in the early 16th century, etching is a
method of making prints from a metal plate, usually copper into which the design
has been incised by acid (Chelsey Parrott Sheffer, 2008). The metal plate has a
series of lines and engraving to hold the ink, so it can be transferred to the paper,
making it a finished print. Etching was first discovered in the 15th century by
German craftsman Daniel Hopfer. The first dated etching was created by Swiss artist
Urs Graf and German artist Albrecht DГјrer in 1513. At first, it was only used to
decorate armor, but later was used on the production of fine prints. Jacques Callot
became a prominent innovator in the etching process. He significantly improved
etching techniques by inventing the echoppe, which was needle that had a slanting
oval section at the end. This enabled etchers to create a swelling line. The
advancements he made publicized this method of printing throughout the world.
Etching continued to grow and advance throughout the centuries with the help of
many prominent artists. In Dr. Hart s Family Receipt and Cookbook, the art of
etching is evident on the front cover. The picture seems to be a sketch of Dr. Hart s
drug store in Knoxville, Tennessee. The hearts drawn throughout the book were also
created by the process of etching. The mixture of the technologies from different time
eras all contribute to the etching

Douglass calls his standing up to Mr. Covey a glorious resurrection, where his
manhood was reinstated. He was again sent to Baltimore, where he met Anna
Murray, a free black woman, who gave Douglass enough love and encouragement
for him to heighten his quest to be a free man. On September 3, 1838, Douglass
dressed in a Sailor s uniform and carrying identification papers provided by a free
Black seaman, managed to reach New York City. There he met David Ruggles, an
Abolitionist, who sheltered Douglass and assisted him with his wedding plans.
Douglass then changed his surname from Bailey to Douglass, married Anna Murray,
and the couple then moved to New Bedford, Massachusetts.
Douglass soon began frequenting Anti Slavery meetings, and on one occasion was
unexpectedly called to speak. In the presence of some of the prominent Abolitionist
(William Lloyd Garrison, Wendell Phillips, and William Collins), Douglass told the
story of his life and was immediately urged to become an Anti Slavery lecturer.
Douglass used his knowledge of the English language and his vivid imagination to
de4scribe slavery. His speeches were so eloquent that the public began to doubt that
he was ever a slave. Douglass showed his objection to this doubt by writing The
Narrative, in 1845. After publishing this account of his life, he fled to England,
fearing that he jeopardized his freedom. With the aid of his
Transition From Childhood To Adulthood
An event that took place that made a transition from childhood to Adulthood is
when I transferred from Indian Valley to Tuscarawas Central Catholic. It was a big
transition because I went from a school with five hundred kids in the whole
school, from grades nine through twelve, to about 120 kids from grades seven
through twelve. I didn t like what was happening with my grades and there wasn t
a lot of help because they are a lot of kids that they had to deal with or help with so
that s when I decided to transfer to help me with my future. At first it wasn t an
easy transfer because I left all my friends and memories there. Also, I didn t know
anyone at Central so it was like starting my life over again with new friends and
memories.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First, the homework doubled in size from what I was use to and spent more time on
it than at my old school. The material that Centrals covers was more difficult than
what I was use to because at Indian Valley, we used google chromebooks to find the
answers and at Central they use books and paper to turn in your work. Another
challenge was that you had to take a Religion class and I wasn t familiar with the
Catholic Religion even though I was Catholic at my new school. The last nine
weeks of my junior year was a struggle because I barely passed English three and
my grade point average was very low at that time and it helped me realize that
when you become an adult, you may not always get help like you want or you may
not be as good in that subject . In Conclusion, there was some challenges that I faced
in my new school.
In Conclusion, the transition became easier because of my new friends and
teachers. Also, I ended up passing my English class to pass my Junior year. I ended
up getting an A in my religion class for the time that I transferred to the end of my
Junior year. The teachers helped me after school to get prepared to study for the test
tomorrow in that class.
I ended up with a 3.0 grade point average by the end of my junior year. I made new
friends through sports and activities and they also helped me with the transition.
Finally, that is how the transition became easier over
Grendel Vs Beowulf Research Paper
Beowulf and Grendel, the main characters of their self titled books, are two very
different, yet very similar characters. Beowulf, whose real author is unknown, is
said to be one of the oldest pieces of English literature ever and is translated from
Old English by Seamus Heaney, tells the tale of a valiant member of the Geat people
who travels across the sea to help the Danes and King Hrothgar battle Grendel, a
vicious monstrosity who is ravaging the local area. Grendel is written by John
Gardner and tells the same tale of Beowulfs courageous attempt, while presenting
the story from Grendel s point of view, a new spin on the age old story. Point of
view plays a huge role in these stories, with Beowulf being read by a omniscient
narrator whose god like abilities seems to allow them to bounce around from the
past, present, and future. Grendel, on the other hand, is completely in first person
and rarely ventures away from that point of view, only when Grendel seems to have
the ability to read people s actions and minds without... Show more content on

Nor have I seen a mightier man at arms on this earth than the one standing here:
unless I am mistaken, he is truly noble. This is no mere hanger on in a hero s
armour, (19 Heaney). This scene shows just how majestic and heroic Beowulf is
and the point of view allows us to see what everyone is thinking in every situation,
giving us a god like view of the story. This constant input from all pieces of the
story aids the reader in seeing Beowulf as a true hero, primarily because of this
abrupt assumption by the Danish coast guard. Beowulf s grandiose image reinforces
the notion of what a hero looks and acts like and without the omniscient point of view

Two Kinds Essay
In this quote there is an underlying experience from it s author, Pearl S. Buck, that
contributes an explanation while solidifying the information. Buck spent most her
childhood in China, living at home with an American family and outside in a
Chinese society, and all the while observing and experiencing two lives. In
correlation to the quote, Buck has seen the divide of the societies, even in its
maternal ways, and vocalizes how no matter how a motherchooses to show care and
affection for their child, loveis deeply rooted into their practices. To set a particular
example, take a mother receiving news her child is at the top of their class. Now the
mother could be ecstatic for her child s achievement, expressing her love and
happiness for them, or this mother... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Regardless of any way the mother chooses to interpret and react to this grandeur of
sorts, this relationship and others alike have expectations that are set, failed, met, or
passed; everything made on the principle of love for the child, with the hope that
they will grow up in their vision or the way they see fit. Similarly to the quote, it is
love all the same, and in what seems like an adaptation of this quote, is the short
story Two Kinds, which perfectly embodies a clash and struggle between mother and
daughter. In the short story, Two Kinds, a mother once raised in China, flees to
America to start a new life. The nation America, to the mother, is a place of
opportunity in which one can be and do anything. Continually, the mother with a new
life, had a daughter, which happens to be the narrator of this story. The mother soon
channels her aspirations and knowledge of America s opportunity into the narrator,
with constant tests for signs of a special attribute. Eventually, the narrator has enough

Major Factors Associated With Country Risks Essay
Country risk has many variables and factors associated with it. In the text that
follows, I will explain the various factors associated with country risks. There will be
two main types of factors discussed, which include Political Risk as well as Economic
Risk. When it comes to evaluating whether or not a country, individual, or business
should invest their capital in another country, they should take into account the
Political Risks associated with that investment. These can range from a country
potentially taking part in a war, to many different types of bribery and extortion
efforts by the countries government. Economic Riskis another major factor to
consider when determining the likelihood that a country should be invested in. Many
of the items associated with Economic risk include exchange rate risk, inflation, GDP,
and devaluation. Both of these risks will assist entities in determining whether or not
a country should be invested in. As investments in other countries will continue to
occur due to a growing worldwide economyand accessibility becoming even easier,
country risk will continue to be a prevalent topic.
Introduction
Country risk is a collection of risks associated with investing in a foreign country
(Country Risk). When discussing the concept of country risk, it is important to note
that this risk may apply either to individual investors, brokerage companies,
multinational corporations, as well as many other entities. It is not just the risk of an
Helen Fisher Involuntary Celibacy
Celibacy is the state of voluntarily abstaining from sex or marriage. Involuntary
celibacy is someone who desires a romantic or sexual partner, but is unable to find
someone willing to be with them. It is not everyday that you hear the term
involuntary celibacy ; however, it is a term that haunts a small community of people
a majority of them being men. People in this community tend to refer to themselves
as Incels . Many in this community view women as the cause of their celibacy.
Involuntary celibacy stems from impatience and hatred towards women by young
men. The incel community was first introduced in the late 90s by a woman named
Alana. Alana created a website to discuss her sexual inactivity and this was used as a

Elizabeth Abbott the author of A History of Celibacy states in her book that celibacy
has been imposed upon, ...unloved Arab wives doomed to crowded marriage with
husbands who love and bed newer favorites... . Involuntary celibacy within
marriages has usually been forced upon the wife because young girls are married
off quickly to men they may never live with. Additionally, during the biblical times
celibacy was forced upon the community. Abbott explains that Tertullian saw
sexuality as illicit and women s vaginas were the Gateway to the Devil. However, in
China it is the young men who are, condemned to celibate existences because of the
nation s one child per family policy provoked mass destruction of unvalued female
fetuses and infants... , Abbott wrote. As a result, a gender imbalance was
Symbolism In Benito Cereno
Benito Cereno , a novel written by Herman Melville, has been the topic of many
debates since its publication. This novel is filled with so much symbolism that it
makes it very difficult to get a clear and succinct analysis of the novel. As one reads
this novel different themes and symbols become apparent. One such theme is good
vs. evil. Melville utilizes color symbolism to signify that black was completely evil
and white was pure good. The issue of good vs. evil is present throughout Benito
Cereno , and can be seen through the actions of Captain Delano and the Blacks on
board San Dominick. It is also seen through the writing of Herman Melville himself.
Captain Amasa Delano, the captain of a Massachusetts whaling ship, is the complete

Although he knew nothing about the San Dominick he still decided to climb
onboard the ship to see why they were sailing in such a poor manner. After he went
onboard the ship he saw the hungry and thirsty blacks and Spanish, so he decided
to help them. He bade his men return to the sealer, and fetch back as much water as
the whale boat could carry, with whatever soft bread the steward might have, all the
remaining pumpkins on board, with a box of sugar, and a dozen of his private
bottles of cider. This benevolent act reveals to the reader the pure goodness of
Captain Delano. Captain Delano is also characterized as an undistrustful man.
Absurd, then, to suppose that those questions had been prompted by evil designs.
Thus, the same conduct, which, in this instance, had raised the alarm, served to
dispel it. . . At last he began to laugh at his former forebodings. Although Captain
Delano developed suspicions about the relationship between Don Benito and Babo,
his undistrustful personality caused him to dismiss such thought. He believes that all
people are naturally good, so whenever such suspicions arise he tries to find a

Harriet Tubman On The 20 Dollar Bill
The big question is should Harriet tubman be on the 20 dollar bill. There are many
different opinions on the news about harriet tubman s picture taking over the 20
dollar bill. Many people believe it s the right thing to do. While others have other

Some people believe we should just keep the person on that s already on the 20

white man known for his war heroics, and being the 17th president of the united states
. He was also the first common man to be put on a dollar bill. Although all these
things may sound good, he actually represented more of a dark side to this country.
Andrew Jackson had many negative qualities to him, as well. For one he was a
slave owner. Anyone who owned slaves should not be able to represent our country.
Another reason was because in 1830, Jackson signed the Indian Removal Act. This
act allowed him to negotiate removal treaties with Native American tribes. Jackson
believed that the Native Americans were inferior to white settlers and wanted to

The Morphology Of Hmong
Hmong is a Miao Yiao language spoken primarily in Southern China, Thailand and
Laos. According to Ethnologue.com, there are over 5.7 million people who speak
the language all around the world. Over 95,000 Hmong people have settled in the
United States. Hmong is monosyllabic and tonal language. This means that it
consists primarily of one syllable words where the tone of a word affects the
meaning. The Hmong dialect is branched from the Chuanqiandian dialect into two
separate ones; known as Njua green and Daw white. Hmong is closely related to
the Miao language spoken in Southern China. However, it is not too known because
various people living in these areas gradually adopted phrases and words from other
cultures, to produce a whole new way of speaking.

Walt Whitman s Poetry Essay
Walt Whitman s poetry embodies the changes taking place in America during and
after the Civil War. He experiences them firsthand as a Civil War nurse. In the
poems, When Lilacs Last in the Dooryard Bloom d, and A Child Said What is the
Grass? . Whitman talks about both population growth, and the many deaths during
the Civil War. He sees life and death as a cycle, and examines life after the life of an
individual. The basic meanings of Whitman s poems are very relevant to what he
was facing at the time. As a nurse in the Civil War, he saw many young, dedicated
people die for what they believed in. He respected these soldiers, and felt that their
deaths should have meaning. Whitman s poems relate to his ideas that a democracy
is built from individuals, and that each individual has a purpose. Although death is an
inevitable, Whitman sees all lives as immortal. The legacy people leave behind when
they die is something that the poet respected... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In When the Lilacs Last in the Dooryard Bloom d, Whitman says, Here, coffin that
slowly passes, I give you my sprig of lilac. The lilac in this quote represents hope,
life, and rebirth; much like spring, when they bloom. The quote shows the author
vows to remember and honor the fallen as individuals, much like blades of grass or
a flower. In the poem A Child Said What is the Grass, Whitman uses the green grass
as a symbol of multiplicity, using the rapid growth and reproduction of grass as a
sign that many new lives have sprouted from those who have died, and that regrowth
after death is possible. In both of these poems, Walt Whitmanuses the seasons to
remember his fallen friends; mourning their lives as new buds of spring appear. The
fall and winter seasons are used as a representation of what the Civil War was like,
with the absence of life in that time. The springtime is where repopulation begins to

Currently, prostitution in the United States is a multi billion dollar industry that goes
largely untaxed. According to Devin Bowen, a political analyst for i360, and an
alumna student of Dr. Antony Davies, a professor of economics at Duquesne
University, the only money that is taxed from this industry stems from when sex
workers and other people involved in the prostitutionbusiness make purchases and
pay sales tax, but, much like the illegal drug industry, most of the money goes
untouched by the local, state, and federal treasuries, due to its criminalization and
illegality. Most... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In his essay, You Can t Get Rid of It So You Might As Well Tax It: The Economic
Impact of Nevada s Legalized Prostitution, David Goldman, an American economist
and author of How Civilizations Die (and why Islam is dying too) discusses the
impact legalizing prostitution would have on the United States if every state
adopted a model similar to the Nevada model on prostitution. Goldman cites Barbara
G. Brents, Crystal A. Jackson, and Kathryn Hausbeck s book, The State of Sex:
Tourism, Sex and Sin in the New American Heartland (Contemporary Sociological
Perspectives) to argue that the because the industry is now worth upwards to $20
billion, the government needs to take action to decriminalize prostitution because he
does not believe the practice shows no signs of slowing down.Taxation would allow
the United States government to regulate the industry and by taxing the practice and
the workers, the government earns money off of a profession that has been around
since the dawn of man and shows no signs of ending anytime
The Horde Is An Example Of Frottage And Op Art
The media is chose to write about are frottage and op art. The artwork by Max
Ernst, The Horde is an example of frottage. Frottage is done when a piece of paper
is placed over a textured surface and rubbed over the picture to create texture. Ernst
used spool of string and a crayon to create this effect. Ernst started learning about
texture from the layout of the land from flying many hours in an airplane. He learned
where to use frottage in a paintingto show texture from just a flat photograph. The
Horde, was created using oil on a canvas. In oil paintings the colors are more vibrant
due to the slow drying time. It helps the texture show up where it should to give off
the effects.
The other artwork I chose is called Op Art, meaning moving artwork. Bridget Riley s
artwork called Drift is an example of this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most op art is done in black and white and is done in acrylic paint on canvas. The
acrylic paint dries very quickly. The artwork is done in great mathematical detail
and requires sharp crisp lines in order for the painting to seem like it is in motion.
Much like frottage, op art is an illusion. Where frottage tricks your eyes into seeing
visual texture, op art tricks your eyes into seeing actual movement that isn t there.
At first glance you can t see background or foreground. The brightness of the
background in frottage and the texture added allows you to see things in a different
way. In frottage and op art the textures must be in the right spot to give off the
illusion. In op art if one line is off you can t see movement. When Riley created the
Drift she saw motion of temperature. She has the feeling of heat. She wanted to create
the same feeling onto the artwork she created by showing movement. But when

Hard Work In Odysseus
Many think their work is physically straining, yet, none compares to what Atlas
demonstrates. Atlas gives new meaning to the definition of hard work. Throughout
his position of tenure, Atlas has simultaneously exhibited the power of stupidity. His
exhibition of stupidity is almost as powerful as his demonstration of extreme
intelligence. Atlas, a titanwho received the worst punishment of all from the
Olympians, holds the worst possible type of tenure. When the word tenure is brought
up, many immediately think about a highly successful, brilliant professor, at a
prestigious university who welcomes the opportunity to be guaranteed a top job for
life. Tenure is a curse for Atlas. Being stuck, holding up the world for eternity. When

On the Possibility of Transcendental Materialism Essay
On the Possibility of Transcendental Materialism
ABSTRACT: The purpose of this address is to argue for the following theses: (1)
the concept of transcendentality can be associated not only with idealism but also
with materialism; (2) such a connection was made possible by Karl Marx s theory;
and (3) in the development of Marxism up to now, theory has been tied to a political
movement, which is an error of principle, for what survives of it is a kind of social
ethics which should more appropriately be called Marxism. Transcendence and
immanence are notions of relationship. Values exist sensually above the senses: e.g.,
the aesthetic value of a painting is not identical with the material of the canvas and
the oils on it, although it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This he performs with respect to the philosophies of history which he calls
substantive or analytical and this is fully analogous to drawing the borderline
between transcendent and immanent philosophical knowledge.
It is a commonplace that Marx s theory is a continuation of the German classical
philosophy Hegel s in the first place. He, however, wanted to turn the upside down
idealist dialectics the right way up, as he said, and put it on a materialist basis. In
doing so he followed not so much Feuerbach s example as the materialism of the
English and French Enlightenment with which he had already been well acquainted,
as is clear from his work Die heilige Familie. Feuerbach instead inspired Marx to
preserve the humanistic pathos, which was present in the Prometheus cult in his
doctoral dissertation, also on materialistic grounds, instead of the sunshine idealism
he praised in the recommendation. Only an anthropologic materialism could naturally
serve such purposes the mature Marx, too, always categorically distanced himself
from the metaphysical and natural scientific materialisms. He also distanced himself
from Feuerbach s unhistorically anthropological materialism. His materialism can
only be termed anthropological if anthropology is understood as a historical

B. Main Body
A breathalyzer ignition interlock device which is an electronic device that is used
to measure and test the blood alcohol content in a person s blood stream before
allowing for a vehicle s ignition system to be started up. Essentially it is a device
that is installed in a vehicle s dashboard and before the vehicle can be started up, the
driver must breathe into the device. If the analysed result is over a programmed
predetermined blood alcohol concentration that has been preset into the breathalyzer
ignition interlock, the car would not start. This device will also keep a record of the
activity on the device and is interlocked with the vehicle s electrical system as an anti

How Did Andrew Jackson Remove From The 20 Dollar Bill
Andrew Jackson, should he be worthy to be in our pockets? During his time as
president Andrew Jackson was a controversial man. He did many things that left a
huge impact on this great nation. Jackson was the leader that caused the Trail of
Tears which sent many Native Americans west of the Mississippi River so they
could have a better lifestyle. Jackson did not like the decision of the Supreme
Court which said the Native tribe could stay on their land but Jackson forced them
to leave to the new land that we now call Oklahoma. Jackson should be removed
from the 20 dollar bill because he worked against Congress, he supported only white
men, and he killed the National Bank causing the Panic of 1837.
First, Andrew Jackson should be removed from the 20 dollar bill because he worked
against Congress. According to Occupy Theory article Andrew Jackson Pros and

Wizard Of Earthsea Essay
A Wizard of Earthsea is a fantasy novel, which was written by an American author
Ursula K. Le Guin. The story of success is always inspiring because everyone in
life wants to be a successful person, and in this novel, we see a young boy whose
ambitions energize him on the way of success. When humans are born, their
destinies are not written yet because they are going to choose the path they walk
on. This path is very essential because our thoughts become our deeds, and our
deed becomes our behavior; our behavior becomes who we are. This novel is most
likely written to inspire people with non fiction visualization of a different reality,
and this is when the composer tries drawing how to become a successful wizard by
words to the readers. Obviously, nothing comes easily when it comes to success, so
the young boy, Ged, who is being starred throughout the novel goes through many
stages and struggles on his way to become superior in what he loves. The process
of teaching is the best way to learn, and generally the job of the teachers and
masters is to teach their students in the best way. In this case, Ged was affected by
three main points, which are his masters, his friends, and his enemies. After the
death of his mother, his aunt who was a witch, used to take care of raising him, and
Duny was provided the first lesson by his aunt. Also, she skilled him only basic and
simple magic because she was not enough powerful. Because she was close to Duny,

Examples Of Sacrifice In The Veldt
People can make sacrifices in many different ways. Sometimes, sacrifices aren t
intentional or bring unwanted consequences. Although each of these sacrifices are
different, whether it s a sacrifice of a relationship, a character s faith, or the more
literal sacrifice of a person, in each case the sacrificegets more than it gives. The
Veldt by Ray Bradbury is a book set in the future, in which your house can virtually
take care of your family by itself. This ultimately made the kids in the story, Peter
and Wendy, replace their parents with the nursery, making it far more important than
their real parents. This caused the kids to despise their parents. When George and

people will have to make sacrifices or will make them accidently. Sometimes,
people are not sure how to deal with making these sacrifices. These short stories

Pros And Cons Of Mandatory Drug Testing
Texas Health and Human Services, also known as Medicaid, is intended to help
meet the basic needs of the less fortunate. Drug addiction is a big problem with the
recipients and often times these funds are misused and spent on illicit substances.
Drug testing is necessary because welfare assistance should not be a one way hand
out or an open ended entitlement. The testing of recipients is also necessary as it
could save tax payers money in the long term. Finally mandatory testing should be

program there is a potential to save millions of dollars every year. In Utah,
although only a small number tested positive, if there would have been no drug
test the state would have handed away more than 350,000 dollars worth to welfare
recipients who use drugs through the year. (Price, Deseretnews.com, web.). Utah s
law also doesn t disqualify people who test positive, instead it requires them to
enter substance abuse treatments. By requiring drug testing for welfare it could
stop people from getting on drugs in the first place. Lombardo s main point is
many people are required to take a drug test to gain employment and a reular pay so

It Is Just A College Prep Class
Avid speech
First off, I d like to ask, What is AVID? For outsiders, they believe it is just a
college prep class. In some ways it is, but there is so much more to this class. Where
teachers help us gain unique study skills that bring us the ability to do better in
school. They also provide a friendly environment that helps us to gain better
knowledge. They also help us build a career and set goals for our future.
They say a AVID has proven achievement and brings a lifelong Advantage. But it s
not just the class it s you. You can have your teachers and parents tell you school is

The third part is where we right questions on the topic. For example, say we made a

The first areas where you would write your answer and explain your questions and the
last section is where you summarize what you learned making that print on them. This
technique helps its layout our thoughts and organize them, for ourselves and others,

Essay on Bass Pro Shops Business Analysis
Primary Problems/Decisions to be made:

1971 and has expanded into a Fortune 500 company that employs over 8,800
employees and has annual sales estimating somewhere around $1.25 billion today.
The question at hand is: should Bass Pro Shops continue to expand, and if so at what
rate should they? The primary problems they might face when expanding are as
follows. Could expansion hurt their brand image and if so how? The Competition
outside of Missouri is going to be much greater. They will not have the publicity and

Bass Pros environment differentiates itself by offering a one of a kind experience due
to their outdoor environment, and offering hands on product trials so the costumer

3 years of retail service experience is required before consideration of employment.
b. Customer convenience: Customers are able to fill many needs because Bass Pro

Weaknesses:

b. Staying consistent with other stores objectives: Being a chain, customers expect
to have the same experience Bass Pro prides its name on. If managers do not

c. Higher payroll could hurt financially: A much higher overhead could lead to losses

The Film Of A Passage Of India
The biggest obstacle any movie director must face is trying to please a critical
audience. It is especially difficult if the movie they are producing is based on a
popular novel, such as E. M. Forster s, A Passage to India. Each reader has their own
perspective of what the characters are supposed to be like and it is the director s
job to try their hardest to please everyone and give an accurate representation of the
text. David Lean did a fantastic job with his casting decisions for his 1984 film
version of A Passage to India. In fact, Lean manages to clarify the novels intentions.
The characterization in David Lean s film of A Passage to India mirrors the novel s
original intentions and provides even more depth to the characters. At the heart of the
novel is Dr. Aziz a kind hearted Indian man who just wants to prove that Indians can
be friends with British people. When he meets Mrs. Moore in the mosque for the
first time he is pleased to see that the British can be understanding and kind. He is
excited, much more by the knowledge that someone sympathized with them... his
heart began to glow secretly. Presently is burst into speech. You understand me, you
know what others feel. Oh, if others resembled you! (21). After this first promising
encounter with a Brit, Aziz becomes even more eager to earn the approval and
friendship of more British people. He plans an extravagant trip to the Marabar Caves
to impress them with the wonders of India. When Mrs. Moore can t

Cotton Mather And Salem Witchcraft Trials
Cotton Mather and the Salem Witchcraft Trials American Literature reveals that
because of Cotton Mather s writings there is knowledge of the Salem witchcraft trials
in 1692. The research shows that most of the known stories and trials come from
Cotton Mather. This essay will describe Cotton Mather, the Salem witchcraftTrials,
and an insight on the information provided by Mather. Like his father before him,
Cotton Mather took position as a pastor of the Second Church of Boston where he
remained connected with that church from 1685, when he was ordained, until his
death forty three years later. It was mainly by his remorseless writing that he
became one of the most notable of all New England Puritan ministers. Today
Mather is often thought of as unsympathetic because of his part in the Salem
witchcraft trials. Although he did not approve of all the trials, he had helped to
stir up the wave of frantic fear by his Memorable Providences Relating to
Witchcraft and Possessions. Later he further pursued his inquiries into satanic
possession with Wonders of the Invisible World. The Salem witch trials were a
series of hearings and prosecutions of people accused of witchcraft in colonial
Massachusetts between February 1692 and May 1693. These trials began after a
group of young girls in Massachusetts claimed to be possessed by the devil and
accused several other locals of witchcraft. After this broke out a special court
convened in Salem to hear and determine (Mather 328)
Health Care Practices Of Dental Clinics
1 Practices of infection control in dental clinics in the private, public and academic
sectors in Sri Lanka Introduction: A dental operatory can be a risk for disease
transmission if proper precautions are not adhered to. Infections may be transmitted
in the dental operatory through different routes. It can be either by way of direct
contact with blood, oral fluids, or other secretions or via indirect contact with
contaminated instruments, equipment or environmental surfaces and also through
contact with airborne contaminants present in either droplet splatter or aerosols of
oral and respiratory fluids (1,2). Hence, both dental care professionals and patients

Having guidelines and policies alone are not enough, there should be ways and
means to implement these policies, such as using internet, web casts, social
networking, podcasts, focus group discussions etc. Also there should be regular
evaluation plans in order to ensure that the costs and outcomes of implementation of
guidelines are measured (12, 13). However, in the developing countries including Sri
Lanka, infection control policies in the dental practice have not been widely
documented (11) and there is no report in the recent literature about how Sri Lankan
dentists manage the control of cross infection in their practices except for a pilot
study (15). The practices of infection control in Sri Lanka is still in its infancy despite
the best efforts of the microbiologists in the country (16). Therefore the aim of this
study is to investigate the infection control practices of practising dental surgeons in
the government, private and academic sectors in Sri Lanka. Objectives: 1. To

The Story Of Apple Inc.
Overview
The story of Apple Inc. is a modern day success story, but one that comes from very
humble beginnings. The company has gone from one started in a garage by two
friends, to one of the most successful companies in the world. Apple just recently
celebrated their 40th anniversary, having been founded on April 1st, 1976
(Rawlinson, 2016). The original two founders, Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs,
envisioned building computers that would change the entire model of personal
computing. Although the two Steve s had a falling out of sorts, Steve Jobs remained
the face of Apple Inc. until his death in 2011.
The innovation of products like the iMac and the iPod brought Apple much success,

They hope to use their expertise in product design as well as software application to
bring all the features people enjoy with their mobile devises to one more platform,
their television sets.
A. Justification
For all intents and purposes, Apple Inc. essentially wrote the book on product
launches. With Steve Jobs at the helm, Apple essentially took product launches and
turned them into shows of entertainment. Sometimes with the help of celebrities and
special guests, these product launches transcended the typical expectation of
announcing new products and added a twist, which countless companies have tried to
emulate.
Apple has maintained continued success with their product launches, and there is
one aspect that has remained consistent: secrecy. Keeping the specifics on what
type of product will be introduced has been a staple for years with Apple. By
keeping major product details and looks under lock and key until the opportune
moment at your launch event, you can keep your consumers and the press guessing
and talking. This will keep your product on the tip of everyone s tongues (Morpus,
2015).
II. Production Needs
A. In its simplest form, cycle time is an internal process, while takt time is external
and depends on outside variables. Takt is dependent on the customer demand. Cycle
time is dependent on the process required to manufacture a particular product
(Nijagdal, 2016).

Talley s Folly Play Analysis
The play Talley s Folly is set in the 1940 s (1944) just outside Lebanon, Missouri in
an old, run down boathouse. This play was written by an American playwright,
Lanford Wilson in 1979 about two odd ducks who find each other and realize that
love isn t just about having kids. In this performance I really enjoyed the set. It was
very clear it was an old, rickety boathouse and did not need much explaining.
Dariusz Korbiel did very well designing the set so you didn t have to focus much on
figuring out where they were. I also really enjoyed the chemistry on stage, you could
tell there was tension between the two but they also needed each other. Johnny
Bobesich and Jessica Ducharme portrayed their characters very well and it seemed

eStore at Shell Case Analysis Student sample
Case Synopsis
In 2002 Shell Canada, a large Oil and Gas company, launched the eStore software
application to service their price sensitive Agricultural market segment by offering a
lower cost service. Calvin Wright (eProduct manager) helped implement the eStore
application, which was geared to service this Agricultural Segment market. The
Agricultural Segment was considered by Shell to be high costs since local sales
representatives were used in order to sell the product. By introducing a cost saving
application, eStore, users would be able to place their orders directly online.
However, when the number of eStore users remained unchanged, Wright headed to

however the eStore design was not created nor considered by the customer user
friendly (complex security password design). Such complex features are more likely
to be seen in Intranets. Since this application is supposed to act as an eStore more
security should have been implemented for the invoicing portion, and less when
browsing for a product.
What differences are evidenced in this case between the development and
deployment of customer facing applications versus employee facing applications?
How did the type of application affect the use of eStore?
When developing the eStore, Shell did not seem to adhere too much to the customers
needs, but rather servicing the needs of the company (developed a cost effective

Lace Up Your Shoes Essay
Quick! Look at your shoes. If your shoes have laces, they might be tied wrong. In
fact, about 50% of Americans tie their shoes the wrong way, that is, they use the
wrong knot when tying their shoes. If your laces come undone, or your bows are
twisted, or you double knot your shoes to prevent them from coming untied, then
chances are, you tie your shoes the wrong way.
About two years ago I took up running. I loved my new sport and entered several
running events and races mostly 5K s. Six months into my new hobby, I decided I

First you were shown how to take one lace and pass it under the other. After reading
this, it dawned on me that most of us
were taught how to tie our shoes when we were four or five years old. Our parents
or siblings taught us, but didn t necessarily teach us to do it right. If you tie your
shoes wrong, don t worry. It only takes a minor tweak to tie the right knot a Reef Knot
. All shoelace knots start the same; laces crossed over under, and then finish with a
bow. However, if you finish the bow in the same direction that you crossed the laces,
you will end up with a Granny Knot. A Granny Knot has an unbalanced bow, e.g., the
bow is turned at 45 to 90 degrees and sometimes it s perfectly inline with the shoe
(see illustration below). Granny Knots usually come untied. People that tie granny
knots, granny knotters are the people you see in line at the grocery store tying their
shoes. They are the people whose shoes come untied at the most inopportune time,
like the base runner rounding third base heading for home plate in the World Series,
or the marathon runner who has to stop to tie his shoes in the middle of the race.
Granny knotters tie double knots to prevent their shoes from coming untied. This
works until its time to untie the knot, and we all know how hard it can be to untie a
double knot, especially with cold hands.
The other 50% are the people who tie their shoes the right way using a
Literary Naturalism And The Open Boat
Literary naturalism was a movement that began in the late 1800s to the mid 1900s
that used detailed realism to show the readers that the human character is shaped by
many things that are outside of human control. This movement tried to depict
everyday reality where the characters would receive symbolic, idealistic, or
supernatural treatment. Literary realism was a prominent movement in the mid
1800s in Europe, and naturalismwas derived from this movement; the writers were
influenced largely by Darwin s theories on evolution. Many writers believed that a
person s character was determined by social status and heredity, and they try to
determine any and all underlying forces that may influence the characters actions.
Naturalist writers often write about taboo subjects, such as sexuality, but also many
other subjects, such as Theodore Dreisers Sister Carrie, which is about a young
country girl who moves to the big city to follow her dream of making it big. Stephen
Cranes The Open Boat is another example. His story is an autobiographical story
about how he and three crew members survived a shipwreck. Other subjects often
written about by naturalists are poverty, racism, violence, prejudice, disease,
corruption, prostitution, and filth. Due to the topic they wrote about, critics often
targeted naturalist writers for focusing too much on the darker side of human life.
Literary naturalism is where the effect the environment has on the human characters
is emphasized. The

Will Red Bull be able to develop marketing strategies that will persuade the

A Girl Fell Off The Fourteenth Floor !
A girl fell off the fourteenth floor! was the response I got when I inquired about the
multiple ambulances outside my dorm at the beginning of sophomore year. The
truth of what happened was much more unsettling. Instead of an accident, the girl,
Jenny, had actually jumped from her dorm window, leaving behind a note saying
ending her life was the only way she saw to stopping her pain. I had known Jenny
briefly when she was my Orientation Leader. By all accounts she was a cheerful girl
who lights up any room she enters. Her friends and family all expressed shock and
disbelief there was no warning, no signs at all she was struggling or suffering. In
midst of an outpouring of empathy from the studentbody, many students admitted that
they also had suicidal thoughts, but likewise would never ask for help. Growing up
as an Asian American, I was all too familiar with the stigma associated with mental
illness. In high school, I watched my best friend resorting to self harming when the
pressure of college application became too much to handle. When she tried to tell
her first generation immigrant parents about her depression, they merely told her
depression is not real. Their biggest concern about her cutting was that no one
should find out. Even educated parents like mine do not view depression as a real
illness the same way they view diabetes or cancer. Having watched many friends
struggle with mental illness, I have always wanted to make counseling more
accessible to all.

Brent Crude Oil Essay
Overview Of Brent Crude Oil: The Brent blend of crude oil is the most common
form of crude oil used worldwide, with roughly two thirds of all crude contracts
around the world referencing the Brent blend (reference). Brent oil is drawn from
more than a dozen oil fields spanning across the North Sea off the coast of the UK

Military grade weapons should be available to American Citizens. For example,
with military grade weapons you can protect yourself and your family. This shows
that if someone is coming up to you with a gun and trying to take your wallet, purse,

The Great Divide By John Woolf And Forster s Howard s...

The Great Divide
There were several prevailing thoughts towards connections present during the time in
England on the cusp of High Modernism. The importance of connections with others
was one that was specifically addressed in much of the literature. E.M. Forster even
highlighted the idea in his novel Howard s End with the epigraph only connect . The
idea supports the notion that, in order for a society to survive and thrive, some degree
of connection must be adequately maintained. Yet, through the stratification of social
classes in England at the time, there was little social connection being preserved. To
address the issue, authors like Virginia Woolfand Forster included connection as a
prominent theme in their works. Both Woolf s Mrs. Dalloway and Forster s Howard
s End address connection through their characters as well as geographical locations.
In each of these stories, the underlying theme of connecting highlights the characters
struggles to only connect .
It would seem as if Forster is urging connection by illustrating that, without some
degree of connecting, social classes would remain stratified and society would fall
into utter ruin. Through the intermingling of characters in Howard s End , Forster
suggests that connecting in such a way is progress. He further advocates and
suggests that progress should be presented as a positive thing, and, in order for a
society to flourish, connections between the

doesn t mean those shared interests simply disappear. Even months after their first

The Use Of Dualism With The Mind Body Problem Essay
Philosopher:
John Locke is an English philosopher born in 1632 and died in 1704. He is one of
the most influential philosopher to attack the concept of dualism with the Mind Body
problem.
Topic:
John Locke is very keen on personal identity. He believes that consciousness creates
personal identity. The body isn t essential, so when a person s soulfleets to a different
body, they are still the same person because their consciousness thrives: Personal
Identity is wherever the consciousness is (John Locke s pdf). In order to understand
personal identity, he first identifies the concept of a person. A person comprises of a
consciousness with experience, the ability to think for oneself, and awareness of the
past and present, but not an actual physical presence.
Brief Summation of Weekly Topic
Dualism is the belief that the mind and body works together. The idea of dualism is
that the mind is more than just a physical brain. Consciousness dwells in a mind,
which serves as an identity and manifest as a soul. This is separate from a physical
body and brain, where when the body dies, the soul will remain and continue living.
Personal Driving Questions:
Who s to say that the body and the environment don t make up the person s identity
as well?
My answer: Nobody can rule out the fact that the physical body and the environment
a person dwells in makes up a part of their identity. While I agree that consciousness
is essential, because that s where all experiences, memories, and
Similarities Between 70 And 70
The 70 s v. 2017 Life in the 70 s was very different than it is today. When you
compare the 1970s to 2017 you can see the huge differences, and maybe some
similarities. A lot has changed since the 70 s, including the style, lifestyle, pop
culture, and more. Since the 70 s a lot has changed, we have changed in some ways
and are similar in more ways than one. Here are the differences and similarities
between the 70 s and today, 2017. In the 70 s the first president of the decade was
Richard Nixon, he was the 37th president and was in office 1969 1974. Eventually
Gerald Fordheld office after Nixon resigned to avoid the eventual outcome of
Watergate, which would have led to impeachment. Jimmy Carter then served as
president in years 1977 1981, with Walter Mondale as vice president. Today in
2017 we have Donald Trump and Mike Pence, and people are begging for Trump to
be impeached, similar to Nixon. Though people do see impeachment in Trump s
future, but some do not. Another difference since the 70 s is the inflation of the
dollar. A dollar in 1970 is worth $6.30 today, which is a 530.0% increase. A dollar in
1979 is worth $3.37, which is a 237% increase. When comparing the 70 s to today
it is always best to compare the cost of living. In 1970 minimum wage was $1.60,
today in New Mexico minimum wage is now $9.25. A year of tuition at a public
college was about $1,200 in the 70 s, according to the college board, the average
student payed about $9,650 for tuition. In January of

One of the prominent themes in the play is that of the 18th century opposition between courtship s means and objective: falling in love and marriage. Lydia s guardian Mrs Malaprop wishes for Lydia to have an arranged marriage; to gain

Hart s Family Receipt and Cookbook. Created in the early 16th century, etching is a method of making prints from a metal plate, usually copper into which the design has been incised by acid (Chelsey Parrott Sheffer, 2008). The metal plate has a series of lines and engraving to hold the ink, so it can be transferred to the paper, making it a finished print. Etching was first discovered in the 15th century by German craftsman Daniel Hopfer. The first dated etching was created by Swiss artist Urs Graf and German artist Albrecht DГјrer in 1513. At first, it was only used to decorate armor, but later was used on the production of fine prints. Jacques Callot became a prominent innovator in the etching process. He significantly improved etching techniques by inventing the echoppe, which was needle that had a slanting oval section at the end. This enabled etchers to create a swelling line. The advancements he made publicized this method of printing throughout the world. Etching continued to grow and advance throughout the centuries with the help of many prominent artists. In Dr. Hart s Family Receipt and Cookbook, the art of etching is evident on the front cover. The picture seems to be a sketch of Dr. Hart s drug store in Knoxville, Tennessee. The hearts drawn throughout the book were also created by the process of etching. The mixture of the technologies from different time eras all contribute to the etching

Another challenge was that you had to take a Religion class and I wasn t familiar with the Catholic Religion even though I was Catholic at my new school. The last nine weeks of my junior year was a struggle because I barely passed English three and my grade point average was very low at that time and it helped me realize that when you become an adult, you may not always get help like you want or you may not be as good in that subject . In Conclusion, there was some challenges that I faced in my new school. In Conclusion, the transition became easier because of my new friends and teachers. The teachers helped me after school to get prepared to study for the test tomorrow in that class. I ended up with a 3.0 grade point average by the end of my junior year. I made new friends through sports and activities and they also helped me with the transition. Finally, that is how the transition became easier over

Beowulf, whose real author is unknown, is said to be one of the oldest pieces of English literature ever and is translated from Old English by Seamus Heaney, tells the tale of a valiant member of the Geat people who travels across the sea to help the Danes and King Hrothgar battle Grendel, a vicious monstrosity who is ravaging the local area. Grendel is written by John Gardner and tells the same tale of Beowulfs courageous attempt, while presenting the story from Grendel s point of view, a new spin on the age old story. Point of view plays a huge role in these stories, with Beowulf being read by a omniscient narrator whose god like abilities seems to allow them to bounce around from the past, present, and future. This novel is filled with so much symbolism that it makes it very difficult to get a clear and succinct analysis of the novel. As one reads this novel different themes and symbols become apparent. • 28. On the Possibility of Transcendental Materialism Essay On the Possibility of Transcendental Materialism ABSTRACT: The purpose of this address is to argue for the following theses: (1) the concept of transcendentality can be associated not only with idealism but also with materialism; (2) such a connection was made possible by Karl Marx s theory; and (3) in the development of Marxism up to now, theory has been tied to a political movement, which is an error of principle, for what survives of it is a kind of social ethics which should more appropriately be called Marxism. It is a commonplace that Marx s theory is a continuation of the German classical philosophy Hegel s in the first place. He, however, wanted to turn the upside down idealist dialectics the right way up, as he said, and put it on a materialist basis. In doing so he followed not so much Feuerbach s example as the materialism of the English and French Enlightenment with which he had already been well acquainted, as is clear from his work Die heilige Familie. Feuerbach instead inspired Marx to preserve the humanistic pathos, which was present in the Prometheus cult in his doctoral dissertation, also on materialistic grounds, instead of the sunshine idealism he praised in the recommendation. Only an anthropologic materialism could naturally serve such purposes the mature Marx, too, always categorically distanced himself from the metaphysical and natural scientific materialisms. He also distanced himself from Feuerbach s unhistorically anthropological materialism. His materialism can only be termed anthropological if anthropology is understood as a historical anthropology (as Marx himself said in his work Das Elend der

The research shows that most of the known stories and trials come from Cotton Mather. This essay will describe Cotton Mather, the Salem witchcraftTrials, and an insight on the information provided by Mather. Like his father before him, Cotton Mather took position as a pastor of the Second Church of Boston where he remained connected with that church from 1685, when he was ordained, until his death forty three years later. It was mainly by his remorseless writing that he became one of the most notable of all New England Puritan ministers. Today Mather is often thought of as unsympathetic because of his part in the Salem witchcraft trials. Although he did not approve of all the trials, he had helped to stir up the wave of frantic fear by his Memorable Providences Relating to Witchcraft and Possessions. Later he further pursued his inquiries into satanic possession with Wonders of the Invisible World. The Salem witch trials were a series of hearings and prosecutions of people accused of witchcraft in colonial Massachusetts between February 1692 and May 1693. These trials began after a group of young girls in Massachusetts claimed to be possessed by the devil and accused several other locals of witchcraft. After this broke out a special court convened in Salem to hear and determine (Mather 328)

  • 48. Tjx Case Study eStore at Shell Case Analysis Student sample Case Synopsis In 2002 Shell Canada, a large Oil and Gas company, launched the eStore software application to service their price sensitive Agricultural market segment by offering a lower cost service. Calvin Wright (eProduct manager) helped implement the eStore application, which was geared to service this Agricultural Segment market. The Agricultural Segment was considered by Shell to be high costs since local sales representatives were used in order to sell the product. By introducing a cost saving application, eStore, users would be able to place their orders directly online. However, when the number of eStore users remained unchanged, Wright headed to the field to determine the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... IT developed an application that was to be used by the Agricultural Segment, however the eStore design was not created nor considered by the customer user friendly (complex security password design). Such complex features are more likely to be seen in Intranets. Since this application is supposed to act as an eStore more security should have been implemented for the invoicing portion, and less when browsing for a product. What differences are evidenced in this case between the development and deployment of customer facing applications versus employee facing applications? How did the type of application affect the use of eStore? When developing the eStore, Shell did not seem to adhere too much to the customers needs, but rather servicing the needs of the company (developed a cost effective system). In the consultant report it is identified that customers had trouble differentiating which login application they should choose since they presumed to be presented with two options. The customer had the perception that by using the left side of the screen they would use an insecure login (Rainer, 2008, pg. 176). The IT development of eStore was approached as being used by someone that had some application knowledge and training prior to navigating the
  • 49. Lace Up Your Shoes Essay Quick! Look at your shoes. If your shoes have laces, they might be tied wrong. In fact, about 50% of Americans tie their shoes the wrong way, that is, they use the wrong knot when tying their shoes. If your laces come undone, or your bows are twisted, or you double knot your shoes to prevent them from coming untied, then chances are, you tie your shoes the wrong way. About two years ago I took up running. I loved my new sport and entered several running events and races mostly 5K s. Six months into my new hobby, I decided I was a real runner and because I was a real runner, I needed to subscribe to a real running magazine. It s a well known fact that every diehard runner has to subscribe to a running magazine of some sort. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... First you were shown how to take one lace and pass it under the other. After reading this, it dawned on me that most of us were taught how to tie our shoes when we were four or five years old. Our parents or siblings taught us, but didn t necessarily teach us to do it right. If you tie your shoes wrong, don t worry. It only takes a minor tweak to tie the right knot a Reef Knot . All shoelace knots start the same; laces crossed over under, and then finish with a bow. However, if you finish the bow in the same direction that you crossed the laces, you will end up with a Granny Knot. A Granny Knot has an unbalanced bow, e.g., the bow is turned at 45 to 90 degrees and sometimes it s perfectly inline with the shoe (see illustration below). Granny Knots usually come untied. People that tie granny knots, granny knotters are the people you see in line at the grocery store tying their shoes. They are the people whose shoes come untied at the most inopportune time, like the base runner rounding third base heading for home plate in the World Series, or the marathon runner who has to stop to tie his shoes in the middle of the race. Granny knotters tie double knots to prevent their shoes from coming untied. This works until its time to untie the knot, and we all know how hard it can be to untie a double knot, especially with cold hands. The other 50% are the people who tie their shoes the right way using a

Literary Naturalism And The Open Boat Literary naturalism was a movement that began in the late 1800s to the mid 1900s that used detailed realism to show the readers that the human character is shaped by many things that are outside of human control. This movement tried to depict everyday reality where the characters would receive symbolic, idealistic, or supernatural treatment. Literary realism was a prominent movement in the mid 1800s in Europe, and naturalismwas derived from this movement; the writers were influenced largely by Darwin s theories on evolution. Many writers believed that a person s character was determined by social status and heredity, and they try to determine any and all underlying forces that may influence the characters actions. Naturalist writers often write about taboo subjects, such as sexuality, but also many other subjects, such as Theodore Dreisers Sister Carrie, which is about a young country girl who moves to the big city to follow her dream of making it big. Stephen Cranes The Open Boat is another example. His story is an autobiographical story about how he and three crew members survived a shipwreck. Other subjects often written about by naturalists are poverty, racism, violence, prejudice, disease, corruption, prostitution, and filth. Due to the topic they wrote about, critics often targeted naturalist writers for focusing too much on the darker side of human life. Literary naturalism is where the effect the environment has on the human characters is emphasized. The

A girl fell off the fourteenth floor! was the response I got when I inquired about the multiple ambulances outside my dorm at the beginning of sophomore year. The truth of what happened was much more unsettling. Instead of an accident, the girl, Jenny, had actually jumped from her dorm window, leaving behind a note saying ending her life was the only way she saw to stopping her pain. I had known Jenny briefly when she was my Orientation Leader. By all accounts she was a cheerful girl who lights up any room she enters. Her friends and family all expressed shock and disbelief there was no warning, no signs at all she was struggling or suffering. In midst of an outpouring of empathy from the studentbody, many students admitted that they also had suicidal thoughts, but likewise would never ask for help. Growing up as an Asian American, I was all too familiar with the stigma associated with mental illness. In high school, I watched my best friend resorting to self harming when the pressure of college application became too much to handle. When she tried to tell her first generation immigrant parents about her depression, they merely told her depression is not real. Their biggest concern about her cutting was that no one should find out. Even educated parents like mine do not view depression as a real illness the same way they view diabetes or cancer. Having watched many friends struggle with mental illness, I have always wanted to make counseling more accessible to all. In

For example, with military grade weapons you can protect yourself and your family. This shows that if someone is coming up to you with a gun and trying to take your wallet, purse, etc. you can pull out your gun and fend them off. This also shows that if someone comes up to you with a gunor is breaking in and you don t have a gun you can t protect yourself as much as you could have. If you do not have a weaponthan you are as unprotected as a defenseless duckling. In addition, they can stop people from doing dangerous things to themselves and others. • 55. The Great Divide By John Woolf And Forster s Howard s... Nashandra M. Jolley ENG 4425 Ross 11 November, 2015 The Great Divide There were several prevailing thoughts towards connections present during the time in England on the cusp of High Modernism. The importance of connections with others was one that was specifically addressed in much of the literature. E.M. Forster even highlighted the idea in his novel Howard s End with the epigraph only connect . The idea supports the notion that, in order for a society to survive and thrive, some degree of connection must be adequately maintained. Yet, through the stratification of social classes in England at the time, there was little social connection being preserved. To address the issue, authors like Virginia Woolfand Forster included connection as a prominent theme in their works. Both Woolf s Mrs. Dalloway and Forster s Howard s End address connection through their characters as well as geographical locations. In each of these stories, the underlying theme of connecting highlights the characters struggles to only connect . It would seem as if Forster is urging connection by illustrating that, without some degree of connecting, social classes would remain stratified and society would fall into utter ruin. Through the intermingling of characters in Howard s End , Forster suggests that connecting in such a way is progress. He further advocates and suggests that progress should be presented as a positive thing, and, in order for a society to flourish, connections between the

He believes that consciousness creates personal identity. Personal Driving Questions: Who s to say that the body and the environment don t make up the person s identity as well? When you compare the 1970s to 2017 you can see the huge differences, and maybe some similarities. A lot has changed since the 70 s, including the style, lifestyle, pop culture, and more. Since the 70 s a lot has changed, we have changed in some ways and are similar in more ways than one. Here are the differences and similarities between the 70 s and today, 2017. In the 70 s the first president of the decade was Richard Nixon, he was the 37th president and was in office 1969 1974. Eventually Gerald Fordheld office after Nixon resigned to avoid the eventual outcome of Watergate, which would have led to impeachment. Jimmy Carter then served as president in years 1977 1981, with Walter Mondale as vice president. Today in 2017 we have Donald Trump and Mike Pence, and people are begging for Trump to be impeached, similar to Nixon. Though people do see impeachment in Trump s future, but some do not. Another difference since the 70 s is the inflation of the dollar. A dollar in 1970 is worth $6.30 today, which is a 530.0% increase. A dollar in 1979 is worth $3.37, which is a 237% increase. When comparing the 70 s to today it is always best to compare the cost of living. In 1970 minimum wage was $1.60, today in New Mexico minimum wage is now $9.25. A year of tuition at a public college was about $1,200 in the 70 s, according to the college board, the average student payed about $9,650 for tuition. In January of
