Forensic Anthropology
Not many people realize that bones can talk, if you listen close enough and have the right education.
Forensic Anthropology is the study of talking bones or more properly as told by Burns (2013), the
discipline that applies the scientific knowledge of physical anthropology (and often archeology) to the
collection and analysis of legal evidence (p.3). This discipline brings together the fields of physical
anthropology, biology, and many other physical sciences to allow for the proper identification of
mostly human remains. The basis of forensic anthropology is to help solve cases using the extensive
knowledge of bones that has been built up over the years and is still being shaped today. The first
recorded use of skeletal information on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also, the vertebrae and pubic symphysis can help discover the estimated age. If the forensic
anthropologist is using the vertebrae, they would have to look at the epiphyseal to see if it is either
absent, in the process of fusing, fully fused, or completely destroyed. They can also check if
osteoarthritis is becoming present, if the line of fusion is visible or no longer noticeable and if the
bone has become porous. Lastly, the pubic symphysis can be used. There are ten phases that the bone
endures from the age of 18 to 50 and upward. The changes of the pubic symphysis are similar to the
vertebrae with looking for the fusion or ossification of certain parts of the bone. However, depending
on the sex of the decedent, there are variations of testing for age because of childbirth within women
causing destructive trauma to the bone. Nonetheless, anthropologists do not have to go that far to

Roger And Me Essay
Roger and Me is a documentary that was made in 1989 and it was a Michael Moore film. The film
focused on the General Motors (GM) layoffs that happened in Flint Michigan, Michaels home town,
in the late 1980 s. The CEO, Roger Smith, decided to layoff over 30,000 people and to close down the
GM factory that is in Flint. Smiths new plan after closing the factory is to open one down in Mexico
and to hire people in Mexico because the labor cost would be a significant decrease. When Moore
found out about the layoffs he wanted to find out more about it and to also speak with Roger Smith.
Many of the people of Flint were very angry with Smith. There was a production of people who
wanted to interview and talk with Smith and also the people who were laid off and also the people
who just lived in the town of Flint. Free enterprise is an economic system in which a private business
operates in competition and largely free of state control. In the movie Roger and Me free enterprise ...

I believe that Smith could have and should have spoke to the people of Flint. Smith was not clear on
why he was making the layoffs to the workers, but Moore does confront Tom Kay about the issue.
Kay s response was that Smith made the layoffs to increase their profit and they will do that by
opening a factory in Mexico and hiring people down there to work for less pay. Moore then was on the
hunt for Smith trying to interview and speak with him. Moore spent three year chasing Smith across
the country and he never did get to speak with Roger Smith. As CEO Smith should have agreed to at
least talk with Moore about the issues that the layoffs have brought and why the layoffs happened.
Smith also could have brought up the issues with the higher up GM workers and ask them to lend a
helping hand in this

The Effects Of Concussions On Athletes And Concussions
Lastly, having multiple concussions produce long term effects on athletes. This was proven by a study
performed that compared athletes with a history of concussions to athletes with no concussion history
using a concussion test known as: Immediate Post Concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing
(ImPACT). This is a computerized test that measures memory capabilities to determine if an athlete
has a concussion. It was taken by the athletes prior to their season to find a baseline level. This
baseline would then be used to determine if someone has a concussion by comparing it to a post
concussion result of the ImPACT. Every athlete in this study was given the ImPACT test within five
days of sustaining a concussion. The results from this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These lawsuits represented over 2,000 former players claiming that the NFL didn t teach them the
dangers of a concussion. On August 29, 2013, over a year after the lawsuits were filed, there was an
agreement between the NFL and the players; the NFL agreed to pay $765 million to pay for medical
examinations, compensation for the concussed athletes, and research towards concussions. Just as the
NFL thought the lawsuits were over, on January 14, 2014, the agreement was declined by a federal
judge because the judge believed that $765 million was not enough money ( NFL Concussion ). These
lawsuits over the issue of concussions prove that the athletes have experienced a multitude of medical
issues that resulted from multiple concussions. These former athletes are working hard to ensure that
young athletes do not have to suffer like they do.
The issue of multiple concussions is finally becoming recognized by major sports. The awareness has
led to a variety of interventions to help protect athletes. There have been two recent interventions
concerning football helmets. First off, Riddell, a company that produces football helmets, has released
a new helmet that is supposed to best prevent concussions. This helmet is known as the Revolution
Speed. Using advanced technology, the Speed helmets were designed around the head s center of

The Importance of the Economic Factors in the Rise to Power of the Fascist Party in Italy
Fascism came on the heels of a war that economically and physically crippled Italy. In an attempt to
regain control, Italian general and dictator, Benito Mussolini created a political party that rivalled the
Socialist party. Fascism was an extremely harsh dictatorship type of power that left many people a
victim of its cruelty. This essay will explore whether the rise of fascism was due to the economic
breakdown in the country at that time, or was that fascism was simply so popular at that time that
nothing would have stopped it? Was it the threat of bolshevism driving people towards fascism in an

The problem of unemployment was aggravated by the return of millions of ex soldiers to Italy and a
new immigration law of the U.S. government, which restricted entry of immigrants. Moreover,
runaway inflation added to the sufferings of the Italians. The lira had only one fifth of its pre war
value. Encouraged by the success of the Bolshevik Revolution in 1917, the unemployed workers and
peasants stirred up riots and strikes throughout the country. At that time the government was
incompetent. It failed to take control of the conditions in the country. Gradually the nationalists
grouped together to emerge as the fascist party. According to Ketelby, author of the book History of
modern time Europe,
It was the urgent need of a strong unifying force that formed the background for the rise of fascism in
Italy.
These political crises may have pushed the leaders of Italy into supporting fascism. The people were
restless they wished for an effective government. Many were turning to socialism, others to fascism.
The King and aristocracy may not have supported fascism but seen it as the lesser evil compared to
the red menace. Economic factors such as the high unemployment figures and the inflation pushed the

Victoria Climbie Case Essay
Throughout this essay, the health, safety and welfare policy and practise that came about after the
Victoria Climbie case will be reviewed and evaluated. After arriving in England in November 1991
from the Ivory Coast, eight year old Victoria Climbie suffered abuse from her great aunt, Marie
Therese Kouao, and her great aunts partner. The anguish and eventual murder of Victoria in 2000 from
hypothermia, caused by malnourishment and damp conditions, provoked the most extensive
investigation into the child protection system in British history as described by Batty (Macleod
Brudenell, 2004). The high media profiled incident exposed a clear lack of precision and
communication between all professionals and agencies involved. This is shown by ... Show more

The report made 108 sweeping recommendations (Laming, 2003) about modifications that were
needed in the child protection system as a response to the errors made by professionals who had
accountability for Victoria s care. These involved the creation of a children and families board, a
children s commissioner, new local authorities management boards and the creation of a national
children s database. The thrust of the report was to address the integration of children s services,
bringing the relevant sections of the professional sector together to improve co ordination and
communication as that would directly lead to effective collaboration. Following these proposals from
Lord Laming, there have been developments in legislation and policy, which involve children s
welfare, one of which was the Green Paper of Every Child Matters (ECM) (DfES, 2003), a pre
legislative document from the government of the day. This built upon existing plans to strengthen
preventative services using the four key themes of: support, early intervention, problems addressed in
the Victoria Climbie case and ensuring adults working with children are trained. The ECM Green
Paper was the basis of a consultation between professionals, parents, cares and children about how the
services for young people were working. Following from this, the government developed and
parliament passed the Children Act

The Theology Of The Child
Theology of the Child Children are God s greatest gift to the world. Every day, thousands of millions
of children have been neglected not just by their parents, but also by his or her community. Since the
beginning of Genesis time, children have always played an important part of humanity. The countless
scriptures provided in the Bible give a clear example about the significance of children. God s outlook
of children in the Bible extends evidential scriptural truth of God s role in our life as a parent.

This is where God first showed His love and compassion for the orphaned in Genesis 21:17 18:
God heard the boy crying, and the angel of God called to Hagar from heaven and said to her, What is
the matter, Hagar? Do not be afraid; God has heard the boy crying as he lies there. Lift the boy up and
take him by the hand, for I will make him into a great nation.
He kept His promise to Abraham that He will bless Ishmael and make him into a prominent nation.
God loves the orphans, aliens, and the widows, the defenseless ones we fail to look after and
acknowledge. He even says so in Deuteronomy 10:18, He defends the cause of the fatherless and the
widow, and loves the foreigner residing among you, giving them food and clothing. Those that may
seem like they have nothing will always have God on their side. Even if the orphan may not have
anyone to instruct the child in the right way, every person is responsible to be help each other out so
that no one would wander off the wrong route. Single mother or father should always start children off
on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it, as told by God in
Proverb 22:6. Children are to to keep the family generation going. This is one of the numerous reasons
why God has blessed so many great men in the Old Testament with an abundant of sons and

Corrections And The Goals For The Future
On June 7, 2016, Steve Walters interviewed Jon Litscher Secretary of Wisconsin Department of
Correction on his return to corrections and the goals for the future. Litscher (2016) explained how
policies changed due to the ACT 10 law. The law prohibited the workers to bargain with their
employers on their wages and benefits (Patterson 2015). He verbalized that one of the goals for
corrections is to increase incentives such as benefits packages and pay increase for their workers. He
also shared that the goals for correction is to reintegrate the inmates back into society. The
stakeholders in this change include the union workers, families, inmates, and taxpayers.
I did not have much history on the topic of corrections and the goals for the future. However, I have
heard that some correctional officers felt that they were underpaid and with the shortages. These
shortages could contribute to situations that are more dangerous for the offeiceers. I have a friend who
works as a correctional officer and with these shortages, he has to work mandatory overtime or have to
stay if needed. He has mentioned how frustrating it could be when trying to make and keep plans with
his family. Litscher (2016) verbalized that corrections is going through a recruitment process and the
classes are getting bigger and with the competitive wages and benefit packages this shortage should
come to an end.
Nevertheless, I was unaware that the starting pay for a correctional officer is $16, but even with

Machiavelli Company
Machiavelli Co. Written over 500 years ago, The Prince by Machiavelli, was crafted as guideline for
rulers of this era. Contained within the novel are rules and ideas formulated to ensure that the prince
had the longest lasting and best rule that he could. Although it was written so long ago it is fun to
think about what kind of kingdom, or in our case, a business would look like according to ideas laid
out in The Prince. When an employee walks in for his first day on the job at Machiavelli Co. they
would notice a few important things. One thing to take into account is that the company has been
around for a long time and it stomps out any other smaller competition trying to rise. This is because
the business has been around since the beginning of the industry and ownership has been passed down

Honoring his word is also key in gaining the respect of his employees as well as the bosses of other
CEOs of companies that do business with Machiavelli Co. If respect is given to the CEO then this
means that the rules are much more likely to be followed and force will not be needed. In the company
scenario and the The Prince, force means termination from the job and no so much the physical
punishment found in the novel. The last thing that the CEO must do in order to be successful is to not
be distant from his workers. Any executive who comes down from his high perch and visits with the
lowest workers and show how much they know about the company are going to have the most
employees who respect their employer and in turn have more success. Nothing causes a prince to be

The Marketing Principles of Fruit Winder Essay
The Marketing Principles of Fruit Winder
There are 5 main principles of marketing. They are
* Understanding customer needs.
* Co ordinating functions to achieve marketing aims.
* Adopting a marketing approach.
* Effective customer communications.
* Constraints.
UNDERSTANDING CUSTOMER NEEDS Kellogg s need to identify and understand the needs of
both their existing customers, as well as any new potential customers. They will need to adapt their
marketing approach to meet the need of these customers. If companies continually review all aspects
of their products, making sure they still meet the requirements of the customers using the 4 P s, it will
help to increase the number ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There must also be well defined lines of communication with other departments throughout the
company.
As Kellogg s is a large organisation, they have a separate marketing department. It will co ordinate
activities with the other departments of the business so that each marketing task will be met. For
example, the marketing department will have to work with the Finance function to organise the funds
available, and the funds needed to carry out any marketing activities. They will also need to work with
the Human Resources department to provide the correct number of properly trained staff necessary to
complete the different tasks required.
ADOPTING A MARKETING APPROACH There are two main marketing approaches that businesses
use; Product Oriented and Customer Oriented. The product oriented approach focuses on the product
and not the market. It does not take into consideration the views/opinions of the customers. The
company may believe that their product is the best on the market, seeing no need for further changes
or improvements. However, following the product oriented approach can lead to the downfall of a
company, particularly if they are functioning in a highly competitive and rapidly changing market. The
customer oriented approach involves a company being in a constant state of development;

Ignorance In The Film The Great Debaters
You may not realize it, but you are ignorant. Ignorant to the world around you, no matter how much
you think you know. You could know everything there is to know about segregation or apartheid in
South Africa, but there is always going to be that one large piece of information that you probably
won t know; how the people involved in it truly felt. All the hurt they went through, the lies they tell to
their children to reassure them that they will be okay. Unless you ve lived in it, you will not really
know everything. But, you can know a lot about it. You may always be ignorant, but as soon as you

Blacks would constantly be whipped and worked much too hard from their masters, or the whites. In
the early 17th century, Europeans who came to America thought that African American slaves would
be a cheaper and better alternative than the poorer European people that they paid. So, they began
working them, and working them until they physically and mentally couldn t anymore, even children
would have to slave for these people. The white people of America had the thought process that only
because of their skin color, they were automatically better than them. So, they sold the slaves for more
desirable ones. The whites or caucasians were blind to the fact that people are people and no one is
better or worse than anyone else. Another example of ignorance dealing with race is apartheid.
Apartheid happened in South Africa in 1948, and did not end until 1994. Under apartheid, nonwhite
South Africans (a majority of the population) would be forced to live in separate areas from whites
and use separate public facilities, and contact between the two groups would be limited, (Apartheid
History). This means that black people had to live in worse parts of town, while the white people of
South Africa lived in the nice, fancy areas. Colored people had to use horrible benches and drinking
fountains, whites could use good water and put together benches. In 1950, South Africa made it illegal
for whites and blacks to marry each other and did not allow any sexual relations between the two. The
black majority of South Africa was deemed less than the white minority, mainly to decrease the blacks

Ember Book Comparison
Compare Contrast Essay Could you imagine living in a world underground that has no light and is

imagine that. The book, City of Ember was published in May 2003. Jeanne Duprau wrote this
attention grabbing book because she wanted to put the thought in our minds to not take the simple
things like food, water, lights, and a roof over our head for granted. In this book the similarities
outnumber the differences. In both the movie and the book Lina is curious about the mayor s actions
and the government s decisions. On Lina s way to give the mayor a message she finds herself getting
lost in the building and lurking around where she isn t supposed to be and seeing questionable things
that her eyes shouldn t be seeing. Equally important to the plot of this book is that in both the book

At the begging of the movie when Lina and Doon are exploring the pipeworks looking for clues and

the end of the story when Lina and Doon drop a note down to the city from above it ends up going to
Doons father instead of going to Mrs.Murdo in the book. They drop the note down so the citizens of
ember will find the note and read the directions on how to get off the quickly dying city. Not to

Tidal Energy In Nova Scotia
Over the years, Nova Scotia has been trying to make the transition into using more renewable energy,
as conventional energy is very harsh on the surrounding environment. This can be a difficult task, as
renewable energy is much more costly and is less reliable than conventional energy. Conventional
energy is beneficial for Nova Scotia because the resources needed are abundant and affordable
(Scheid, page 1). Just seven years ago, Nova Scotia was at 10% renewable generation and in 2015, by
law, Nova Scotia Power had to get that number up to 25%. By 2020, the province should be at 40%
renewable generation so something must be done over the next few years to get Nova Scotia there. I
believe that the most effective way for Nova Scotia to balance ... Show more content on

This is why tidal energy generation would be much more efficient than hydroelectricity energy
generation in Nova Scotia because there are not many strong flowing rivers. The Electric Power
Research Institute (EPRI) located in California stated that the Bay of Fundy had potential to be the
best site in North America for tidal energy generation. I believe that Nova Scotia should take
advantage of these tides and use them as an important resource for our province. After the costs of the
infrastructure and maintenance, tidal energy generation would be essentially free, as the tides move on
their own. A lot of energy can be created through tides, as tidal power is very sensitive to speed. The
amount of energy formed is the cube of the speed of the water. For example, if the speed of the
flowing water doubles, the energy output is eight times greater. This energy can be formed from both
the change in the height of tides, which is potential energy, and the flow of the water, which is kinetic
energy.. As of now, the main technologies used are in stream devices, barrages, and tidal lagoons. I
think the best solution for Nova Scotia right now would be to build a tidal lagoon in the bay of Fundy.
A tidal lagoon is like a barrage (which is essentially a dam built across the whole estuary) but it can be
built as a self contained structure. This makes the cost much lower and they can also continuously
generate, unlike a

John Locke s Separation Of Personal Identity
Locke s argument for the identity of person (spiritual) and the identity of man (material) is not
sufficient. However, the distinction Locke made is based on its ontological thinking and does have a
practical significance. In my opinion, the problem of identity is not only an extension of ontology, but
also have a practical significance based on the issue arose by the separation of identity, that it is
unreasonable to talk about identity without any one of the two (spiritual or material).
Locke argues that the identity of people does not equal the identity of man, that with the soul alone, it
is not possible to form the same person. To take further step of this argument, Locke provides the
example of the the Prince and the Cobbler. Adding the Prince s soul into the Cobbler s body, and
therefore the Cobbler s body is now having the the Prince s soul, and further more that the Cobbler s
body is now having the Prince s personal identity. However, people will not regard the Cobbler as the
Prince, for that people are inseparable from the body. Therefore, in such circumstances, Locke
believes that people should conclude from this example that the body should be the one to determine
whether one is the same person (Locke, 517 518).
In this example, Locke wants to establish concepts of the soul (or more ... Show more content on

the Cobbler s example, Locke pays more attention to the identity of the body. Whereas under the
guidance of this concept, it is not difficult to understand the reason Locke has separated the identity of
person from the identity of man, that these two belong to two different entities: the material and the

Charles Bailey And Martha Nussbaum
This essay is conceived with the purpose of demonstrating personal understanding of liberal education
as a result of assessing historic theory of Aristotle and comparing the contemporary theories of
Charles Bailey and Martha Nussbaum. In addition, the applicable situations of liberal education and
its governing principles will be discussed. Specifically, given the inevitable engagement of
compulsory education, which is inherently authoritarian, some aspects of liberal education are limited,
and full personal autonomy cannot be actualized. In this situation, liberal education would be less
effective and less suitable due to the loss of freedom to some degree. However, the importance of
liberal education is vital in breaking old cultural and religious world views to produce open minded
students who are capable of critical thinking. In addition, more benefits of liberal education will be
shown in my later analysis by comparing it to education that is straightly vocational.
The word liberal originates from the Latin liberalis , meaning free men who have been taken out of
servitude. A liberal society can be considered one composed of autonomous people who are capable of

demonstrating the cosmopolitan concept of liberal education is relatively important, especially in

Robert Smithson Plural Jetty Essay
Robert Smithson s Spiral Jetty is a 3ft. 6 in. x 15 ft. x 1,500 ft. Earthwork located in Great Salt Lake,
Utah. It was created in April 1970. Located where the rails of the first transcontinental railroad met, it
sits near the Golden Spike monument; making it an actual landscape. It s a giant counterclockwise
spiral sculpture made of black rock, earth, algae, and salt crystals. It is said that Smithson used dump
trucks and bulldozers to haul in 6,650 tons of earth and rocks to complete the Spiral Jetty. In a 32
minute short color film, he recorded the construction of the Spiral Jetty. Smithson had to acquire land
rights, before completing it. Virginia Dwan Gallery of New York gave Smithson a $9,000 grant for a
part of the Spiral Jetty s construction. The rest was financed over a 20 years lease at payments of $100
annually. The first phase of building the Spiral Jetty took about 6 days to complete. Smithson was not
completely satisfied with it initially and spent another 3 days changing the shape. 7,000 tons of rock
had to be moved during these 3 additional days of work. Smithson died 3 years after completing the

Balancing Ecosystems
Dear City Council: I am writing you concerning matters of restoring balance to the city s ecosystem.
An ecosystem is a factor in the biological community that consists of occurrences locally, chemical
factors, as well as physical, make up the environment non living or abiotic. The unbalanced ecosystem
in Sparksville s aquatic system is the situation at hand. The boundaries of this ecosystem are being
addressed for reasons having to do with the goal of restoring the lake back to normal. The invasions of
Grass Carp have made it almost impossible for the rest of the underwater community to be in
existence. The changes in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The leaves of the new plants can contain chemicals that add to the ecosystem problem in the lake.
Many more problems can occur within the environment, leaving animals are to feed off of the non
native harmful crops, and the chain will go on because humans feed off of animals. Ultimately the
entire community can be affected by this Carp problem. Keep in mind it is not the intent of the
invasive species to be invasive or they start off being invasive then the ecosystem will find a unique
way of bringing everything under control on its own. The ecosystem in town possesses many
mechanisms that it needs to keep the whole system equally balanced. The dynamics to help persons in
this city strive and restore include predation; the need to prey on other animals is how a species
survive, but it should be under control. Conditions and temperature play a large role as well. It is the
responsibility of the humans to control the conditions that come into the town by understanding the
animals and fish that come into the environment and lake. The environment needs the help and
support of the community to be successful. When everyone is working together and not against each
other things tend to come together easier because everyone is working towards the same goal and
objective. Prairie Dog Festival held each summer celebrates the community s environment awareness.
Sparksville is facing a hardship, and the goal is to get things back in order

The Little Red Riding Hood
Do you ever wonder why writers retell our childhood tales? Does is ever occur to you that the tales
being retold may be used to tell a reader a deeper message? During our childhood we were told stories
of many sorts that directed a message to the reader, such as The Little Red Riding Hood by Charles
Perrault. As children, our parents read this short story in order for us to receive the authors message to
not talk to strangers or else something bad can happen. Children see tales such as The Little Red
Riding Hood very differently than adults do. As adults, they see this young attractive village girl being
tricked by the wolf who gathers information he needs to find her grandmother to eat. Overtime, the
story has changed numerous times based ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the symbols that periodically pops up in many of the Little Red Riding Hood tales is the red
cap that Little Red wears. The cap is given to her by her grandmother, which symbolizes a deeper
message in the retellings. The story by Perrault really doesn t symbolize anything, mainly noted that it
was given by her grandmother, however, in Angela Carters story it represents the transition to women
hood. Carter states, She closed the window on the wolves threnody and took off her scarlet shawl, the
color of poppies, the color of sacrifices, the color of her menses, and since her fear did her no good,
she ceased to be afraid. What shall I do with my shawl? Throw it on the fire, dear one. You won t need
it again (649). Here Little Red Riding Hood burns her shawl, which represent her sexuality. Little Red
is no longer betrayed as a little girl, she ends her innocence by burning her shawl which ends her
virginity. Symbols can represent more than just a symbolic meaning but making it important or a
lesson taught to the readers. The shawl that represents her cape which symbolizes the end of her little
girl innocence because she gets naked in front of the wolf and the story goes on to lose her virginity.
Another symbol that resonance Little Red in general is,

Chief Seattle Speech Summary
Two great chiefs, Tecumseh and Seattle, attempted to address the U.S. government s negligence
against the Native American tribes, who preceded the very men who ignore their needs. Chief Seattle
delivers a speech to President Pierce in 1855, and in it contrasts nature and artificial cities. There is no
quiet place in man s cities, no place to hear the leaves of spring or the rustle of insect wings. But
perhaps because I am a savage and do not understand, the clatter only seems to insult the ears.
(Seattle). He uses imagery to describe the delicacy of nature to the crude artificialness of man s cities ,
and provide a greater understanding of how their lives differ. Chief Seattle knows that the President,
just like all other white me, has preconceptions about Native Americans. He most likely believes them
to be too simplistic for white society, and even more so fears them. He already knows that white men
perceive them as savages and acknowledges this in his speech in a repetitive manner saying, but we
are just savages and do not understand (Seattle) three times. Chief Seattle despite knowing all of this,
still attempts to get the white people to understand, because he doesn t want the two peoples, white
and red, to live in fear of the other. He wants them to change their ways, and stop destroying the Earth.
He want s both the Tribes and the white men to become co inhabitants and stop fighting for the sake of
land. He is aiming for mutual respect and understanding, if not

Teaching Styles And Methods Rather Than Learning
This class was very interesting, and different from other youth ministry classes that I have taken. In
this class we discussed more about teaching styles and methods rather than learning about how to deal
with adolescents. For me this class really helped me to become more confident that I can be a youth
minister. To help relate this experience for me into a paper I will discuss the different historical
elements of how to religiously teach, the learning styles, and some of the things that I will take with
me as I go out into the field. The history of religious education is very intense; according to Models of
Religious Education, religious education starts in the early 19th century . This model is called The
Historic Prototype of Religious Education. This model is concerned with giving more of a divine
message. For me this is not a type of education that I would use. While, I believe that the divinity of
Jesus is important I feel like there is many more things that need to be discussed than the divinity of
Jesus. The next model that Burgess bring up is The Classical Liberal Model of Religious Education,
which comes around at about 1910. This method is focuses on being saved through society. This is a
strange topic because it is hard to think about someone being saved because of society, especially with
today s society. However, what they do is teach children to create a social atmosphere where society
can be saved. This method still steams strange to me

The Purpose Of Old Major s Speech
Novelist, George Orwell, in his narrative essay, Animal Farm, describes Old Major s
Speech. Old Major had a dream that animals are treated with equality and he wanted to address it to
the rest of the animals on the far. All the animals on the farm respected Old Major because he was
wise and he thinks about life when he sits alone in his stable. The purpose of Old Major s speech was
about his wisdom, how animals are treated, not respected and later when they are unhelpful they are
killed and what they were going to have to do about the issue going go
Old Major begins his speech by implying his wisdom and long life. Old Major says in his speech, I

Old Major tells the animals, and the very instant our usefulness has come to an end we are slaughtered
with hideous cruelty. (5), as he is giving his speech to the animals . He is the describing to the animals
how their lives end and not have a choice to make, in order to center his idea that animals lives are
miserable. Old Major s feeling towards the topic that he holds about animals lives is strong because he
has had time to understand the meanings that the animals are given to the humans and disagrees about
the miserables lives they live. Thus, Old Major does say that animals lives are unjustified that he
wants to make a rebellion.
Old Major closes his speech by saying that they should do a rebellion. Old Major tells the animals,
That is my message to you, comrades: Rebellion! I do not know when the that Rebellion will come, . .
. sooner or later justice will be done, (7) that they will have their justice. He makes his point that in
order for the animals to have justice they will have to rebel against Jones. This effect cause the feeling
of the rest of the animals to rise and fight for their equal society. All in all, Old Major address the fact
that they animals should rebel to get their justice made

John Sirica and The Ammidown Murder Essay
When I discovered that my English class had to do a Research Paper, I became horrified. I thought
students only did this when they were finishing graduate school not when they were starting their first
year in college. All I knew about research papers was that there is an overwhelming amount of
research to do. In my efforts to complete this obstacle and not bore myself to sleep with researching, I
wanted to do an interesting topic, but I had no idea where to begin. I spent hours going through a great
number of subjects and people, but once I found topic remotely interesting, I could not find much
information on the Library of Congress website. Therefore, I decided to choose one word that would
hopefully lead me to an interesting topic. I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ammidown. This is typically because John Sirica was more important to the United States history due
to his involvement in the Watergate Trails.
I continued searching further into the United States v. Ammidown, when John was Chief Judge for the
United States District Court, by finding sources on the Library of Congress website. At the Manuscript
Division of the Library of Congress there is a collection summary on The Papers of John J. Sirica that
has 123 containers holding 38,000 items. I visited the Manuscript Division at the Library of Congress
on April 4th , 2012. I was able to get hold of his Bench Book and files on the Ammidown case. I took
a few pictures of some of the documents, but the information was overwhelming.
A few weeks later I decided to come back to fully immerse myself into his Bench Book because I felt
like that was the best way to comprehend John Sirica s thoughts and opinions on the case.
Nevertheless, the information within the book was hand written and is difficult to read. I used a
camera to take pictures of the page that related to the case I m researching in the bench book where I
have started on deciphering the handwriting. Yet, the amount of time I have spent on trying to do so
has made me realize that decoding the rest will take more than a while. There were other files

Political Corruption In Cuba Essay
Cuba is a communist nation still present from the cold war era when Russia and Cuba had ties
together. The government in Cuba is very corrupt and the officials take bribes from other officials or
regular citizens in Cuba. Political corruption in Cuba is a very big issues. hI believe that all
government is corrupt in some way, but it seems like Communist nations are more corrupt than
capitalist nations like the U.S The Cuban government avoids taking action on big issues due to bribes
from people who don t want to see any change in Cuba. The people who are bribing these officials are
most likely conducting illegal activities . Refworld.org has Cuba ranked from a scale from 0 10 (0

Political corruption in Cuba can mainly be blamed on the drug trade in and out of Cuba. The drug

Cuba as a stopover point especially go fast boats coming from Jamaica carrying marijuana and

little is known about cases involving police or military misconduct in drug trafficking. Cuban police

Taking a Look at Amphotecering B (AmB)
Amphotericin B (AmB), a polyene macrolide antibiotic, is highly effective against various Leishmania
species and is currently recommended as first line treatment for the visceral form (Dea Ayuela et al.,
2004). Amphoteric nature of AmB contributed by its hydrophobic (the polyene hydrocarbon chain)
and hydrophilic (the polyhydroxyl chain) domains, is responsible for poor aqueous and organic
solubility, and intercalation into cell membranes to elicit drug s pharmacological effects (Milhaud et
al., 2002). To sort out insolubility and non absorbability problems conventional AmB formulation
Fungizone® (a complex with bile salt deoxycholate) is available. However, toxic side effects, in
particular, hemotoxicity and azotemia which occurs in around 80% cases and renal tubular damage at
therapeutic doses have often limited its clinical applications (Wasko et al., 2012). The appropriate
delivery system would have an unique advantage in overcoming toxic manifestations on normal body
functions caused by direct exposure of the drug and to improve its therapeutic efficacy. It was thought
that lipid based formulations could be the best approach where association of the drug within the lipid
molecules would protect the vital organs from direct exposure of the drug. In some earlier reports, it
was claimed that liposomal carriers were much less toxic than Fungizone® which opened the gate for
development of AmB liposomal formulations (Larabi et al., 2004). This ultimately resulted in three

The Scaffold In The Scarlett Letter
A scaffold is essentially a raised platform that is usually made of wood, used to formally and
publically execute criminals, in the same way a guillotine would. The community in which The
Scarlet Letter takes place, when the church is the law, is centered around the scaffold located in the
center of town. Like a stage, it is meant to reveal things and for those revelations to be made into a
public spectacle that all the townspeople are expected to watch. Though it is not used to kill anyone in
the novel, its function serves to exposes sin to the people and punishes those who has committed them.
The Puritans believe that all of them will be judged before the eyes of God when they die, but the
scaffold serves to visualize that judgment and a form of justice as they take matters into their own
hands, regardless of the fact that God will judge them individually whether they are pushed during
their lifetime or not. On three distinct occasions, Pearl, Hester, Dimmesdale, and Chillingworth
convene at the scaffold as Hawthorne uses it to mark the passage of time between the characters lives
and the changes they go through as the scarlet letter effects play out.

to live a life of normality, nor will she grow up with a father figure; however, even at a young age she
expresses an outward connection towards Dimmesdale as if she always knew that he was her father

Keeping The Cold And Flu Bugs At Bey
Winter is a time of fun in the snow, hot chocolate, and resting by a warm fire. It is also a time for
viruses to run a muck. The following are a few tips to help keep the cold and flu bugs at bey. 1. Wash
your hands frequently. This is a commonly known virus fighter. Anything we touch has been touched
by others who might be carrying a virus. Frequent hand washing can keep us from allowing these
germs to enter our bodies. 2. Crack a window in your house for a few hours a day. One of the reasons
a house gets sick during the winter is because the germs have no where to go. They get into the
ventilation and circulate through the house with no outlet. Cracking a window in a different room of
the house a little while each day can give the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
8. Drink your herb tea. Echinacea tea has properties to shorten the common cold and flu It is also
recommended to boost the immune system and fight infections. 9. Keep your hands away from your
nose and eyes. Touching your eyes and your nose can give any virus your hands may have touched a
quick route into your bloodstream. 10. Eat spicy foods. Eating spicy foods can help to clear the
sinuses and give you a bit of relief if you are unlucky enough to have caught a cold. Certain spices can
also shorten the length and severity of the cold. Since I have reached what many call Middle Age , I
am more conscious about my health as well as my diet then ever before. I believe in eating healthy,
after all our bodies are not designed to process any old junk. My problem is defining what healthy
eating really is? After putting Healthy Diet in my Google search engine and getting over 25 million
results, all claiming to have the answer I decided to do my own research. I chose to look at the oldest
people I know to see if there were any common traits among them. The oldest being just a few months
shy of her 100th birthday and the others in their eighties and nineties. Now even though I am by no
means a health expert or would I say my research was even close to being accurate or scientific, I did
find out what I believe are the two most important factors to living a long life. Before we move on to
them though first let me tell you that not

The Sweatshop Industry and Child Labour in NIC s
This report is aimed at investigating if the two major TNC s Nike and Gap manufacture their products
according to their code of vendor conduct. Both companies code of vendor conduct clearly states that
no workers are employed under the legal minimum age and sweatshops don t exist in their factories.
A sweatshop is a factory where employees are subject to extreme exploitation; they work in dreadful
conditions with health and safety hazards, for little pay and long hours. Child labour is, as the word

This excuse hinders outsiders knowing exactly what is happening inside the factory. People didn t
want to tell us about the factories whereabouts either, as they were scared of getting physically
assaulted by the security men surrounding the factory. At last we found a factory called June Textiles,
which manufactured products for both Nike and Gap, but no one would tell us more than that.
Checking treatment of workers here was going to be a huge task. The factory was well guarded and
looked like any ordinary factory from the outside, but at that time we didn t know what harsh realities
workers were facing inside the factory.
We needed to talk to the workers on home turf, away from the security men surrounding the factory.
Late at night we got a call from a couple of workers who said they were prepared to speak to us, if we
met them after their shift, at their home. For them to talk openly about the conditions in the factory
was a big step.
This was the one of our first big surprises, 8 women were living together in a tiny little room which on
a regularly basis had power cuts and was without running water. As we interviewed them they told us
that Nike and Gap treat them as dirt, they work 16 hours a day, which is 112 hours a week. This
contradicts with Nike and Gap s code of vendor conduct, which says ´´On a regularly scheduled basis
requires no more than 60 hours of work per

Richard Misrach Analysis
Richard Misrach captures the tone of a stark and bleak reality with the darkening clouds and the
barrenness of the wasteland in his photo of Wall, East of Nogales, Arizona. He is making a statement
about the issues that the U.S. and Mexico have long had. The image displays a wall surrounded by
desolation with a path by it s side leading off toward the darkening clouds. The wall continues until it
melds with the wasteland. The path is joined by a smaller path that merges into it. After it goes over a
hill, it disappears. The clouds darken when approaching the horizon. The yellow and brown weeds and
grasses of the hilly plains leads to forbidding mountains. There is a small light post on the wall. All in
all, it is a depressing sight to see. Richard Misrach is implying that the future of the U.S. and Mexico
is bound together and will see dark times before reaching an impassable obstacle if there is no change
in their policies involving each other. Everything in the image ... Show more content on

The wall represents the barrier between U.S. and Mexico, a barrier between not only countries but
people as well. The wall merging with the hill represents that this self constructed barrier will be
instrumental to the future. The path is a symbol of the political stances the countries are taking. The
merging of the two paths show that this fate is to be shared by both the U.S. and Mexico. The clouds
represent the future, the darkening of the clouds symbolizes the bleak outcomes to be expected should
this route be continued. The yellow and brown weeds demonstrate the toxic and decayed relations
between the U.S. and Mexico. The way hills eventually lead to mountains suggest that conditions will
worsen until there is a mountain that Mexico and the U.S. cannot bypass together or alone right now.
The light offers a dim glimpse of relief and hope against the crushing atmosphere of the environment.

  • 2. Forensic Anthropology Not many people realize that bones can talk, if you listen close enough and have the right education. Forensic Anthropology is the study of talking bones or more properly as told by Burns (2013), the discipline that applies the scientific knowledge of physical anthropology (and often archeology) to the collection and analysis of legal evidence (p.3). This discipline brings together the fields of physical anthropology, biology, and many other physical sciences to allow for the proper identification of mostly human remains. The basis of forensic anthropology is to help solve cases using the extensive knowledge of bones that has been built up over the years and is still being shaped today. The first recorded use of skeletal information on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Also, the vertebrae and pubic symphysis can help discover the estimated age. If the forensic anthropologist is using the vertebrae, they would have to look at the epiphyseal to see if it is either absent, in the process of fusing, fully fused, or completely destroyed. They can also check if osteoarthritis is becoming present, if the line of fusion is visible or no longer noticeable and if the bone has become porous. Lastly, the pubic symphysis can be used. There are ten phases that the bone endures from the age of 18 to 50 and upward. The changes of the pubic symphysis are similar to the vertebrae with looking for the fusion or ossification of certain parts of the bone. However, depending on the sex of the decedent, there are variations of testing for age because of childbirth within women causing destructive trauma to the bone. Nonetheless, anthropologists do not have to go that far to check the sex of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Roger And Me Essay Roger and Me is a documentary that was made in 1989 and it was a Michael Moore film. The film focused on the General Motors (GM) layoffs that happened in Flint Michigan, Michaels home town, in the late 1980 s. The CEO, Roger Smith, decided to layoff over 30,000 people and to close down the GM factory that is in Flint. Smiths new plan after closing the factory is to open one down in Mexico and to hire people in Mexico because the labor cost would be a significant decrease. When Moore found out about the layoffs he wanted to find out more about it and to also speak with Roger Smith. Many of the people of Flint were very angry with Smith. There was a production of people who wanted to interview and talk with Smith and also the people who were laid off and also the people who just lived in the town of Flint. Free enterprise is an economic system in which a private business operates in competition and largely free of state control. In the movie Roger and Me free enterprise ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I believe that Smith could have and should have spoke to the people of Flint. Smith was not clear on why he was making the layoffs to the workers, but Moore does confront Tom Kay about the issue. Kay s response was that Smith made the layoffs to increase their profit and they will do that by opening a factory in Mexico and hiring people down there to work for less pay. Moore then was on the hunt for Smith trying to interview and speak with him. Moore spent three year chasing Smith across the country and he never did get to speak with Roger Smith. As CEO Smith should have agreed to at least talk with Moore about the issues that the layoffs have brought and why the layoffs happened. Smith also could have brought up the issues with the higher up GM workers and ask them to lend a helping hand in this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This was proven by a study performed that compared athletes with a history of concussions to athletes with no concussion history using a concussion test known as: Immediate Post Concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing (ImPACT). This is a computerized test that measures memory capabilities to determine if an athlete has a concussion. It was taken by the athletes prior to their season to find a baseline level. This baseline would then be used to determine if someone has a concussion by comparing it to a post concussion result of the ImPACT. These lawsuits represented over 2,000 former players claiming that the NFL didn t teach them the dangers of a concussion. On August 29, 2013, over a year after the lawsuits were filed, there was an agreement between the NFL and the players; the NFL agreed to pay $765 million to pay for medical examinations, compensation for the concussed athletes, and research towards concussions. Just as the NFL thought the lawsuits were over, on January 14, 2014, the agreement was declined by a federal judge because the judge believed that $765 million was not enough money ( NFL Concussion ). These lawsuits over the issue of concussions prove that the athletes have experienced a multitude of medical issues that resulted from multiple concussions. These former athletes are working hard to ensure that young athletes do not have to suffer like they do. The issue of multiple concussions is finally becoming recognized by major sports. The awareness has led to a variety of interventions to help protect athletes. There have been two recent interventions concerning football helmets. First off, Riddell, a company that produces football helmets, has released a new helmet that is supposed to best prevent concussions. This helmet is known as the Revolution Speed. The Importance of the Economic Factors in the Rise to Power of the Fascist Party in Italy Fascism came on the heels of a war that economically and physically crippled Italy. In an attempt to regain control, Italian general and dictator, Benito Mussolini created a political party that rivalled the Socialist party. Fascism was an extremely harsh dictatorship type of power that left many people a victim of its cruelty. This essay will explore whether the rise of fascism was due to the economic breakdown in the country at that time, or was that fascism was simply so popular at that time that nothing would have stopped it? The problem of unemployment was aggravated by the return of millions of ex soldiers to Italy and a new immigration law of the U.S. government, which restricted entry of immigrants. Moreover, runaway inflation added to the sufferings of the Italians. The lira had only one fifth of its pre war value. Encouraged by the success of the Bolshevik Revolution in 1917, the unemployed workers and peasants stirred up riots and strikes throughout the country. At that time the government was incompetent. It failed to take control of the conditions in the country. Gradually the nationalists grouped together to emerge as the fascist party. According to Ketelby, author of the book History of modern time Europe, It was the urgent need of a strong unifying force that formed the background for the rise of fascism in Italy. These political crises may have pushed the leaders of Italy into supporting fascism. The people were restless they wished for an effective government. Many were turning to socialism, others to fascism. The King and aristocracy may not have supported fascism but seen it as the lesser evil compared to the red menace. • 6. Victoria Climbie Case Essay Throughout this essay, the health, safety and welfare policy and practise that came about after the Victoria Climbie case will be reviewed and evaluated. After arriving in England in November 1991 from the Ivory Coast, eight year old Victoria Climbie suffered abuse from her great aunt, Marie Therese Kouao, and her great aunts partner. The anguish and eventual murder of Victoria in 2000 from hypothermia, caused by malnourishment and damp conditions, provoked the most extensive investigation into the child protection system in British history as described by Batty (Macleod Brudenell, 2004). The high media profiled incident exposed a clear lack of precision and communication between all professionals and agencies involved. This is shown by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The report made 108 sweeping recommendations (Laming, 2003) about modifications that were needed in the child protection system as a response to the errors made by professionals who had accountability for Victoria s care. These involved the creation of a children and families board, a children s commissioner, new local authorities management boards and the creation of a national children s database. The thrust of the report was to address the integration of children s services, bringing the relevant sections of the professional sector together to improve co ordination and communication as that would directly lead to effective collaboration. Following these proposals from Lord Laming, there have been developments in legislation and policy, which involve children s welfare, one of which was the Green Paper of Every Child Matters (ECM) (DfES, 2003), a pre legislative document from the government of the day. This built upon existing plans to strengthen preventative services using the four key themes of: support, early intervention, problems addressed in the Victoria Climbie case and ensuring adults working with children are trained. The ECM Green Paper was the basis of a consultation between professionals, parents, cares and children about how the services for young people were working. Every day, thousands of millions of children have been neglected not just by their parents, but also by his or her community. Since the beginning of Genesis time, children have always played an important part of humanity. The countless scriptures provided in the Bible give a clear example about the significance of children. God s outlook of children in the Bible extends evidential scriptural truth of God s role in our life as a parent. Do not be afraid; God has heard the boy crying as he lies there. Lift the boy up and take him by the hand, for I will make him into a great nation. He kept His promise to Abraham that He will bless Ishmael and make him into a prominent nation. God loves the orphans, aliens, and the widows, the defenseless ones we fail to look after and acknowledge. He even says so in Deuteronomy 10:18, He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the foreigner residing among you, giving them food and clothing. Those that may seem like they have nothing will always have God on their side. • 8. Corrections And The Goals For The Future On June 7, 2016, Steve Walters interviewed Jon Litscher Secretary of Wisconsin Department of Correction on his return to corrections and the goals for the future. Litscher (2016) explained how policies changed due to the ACT 10 law. The law prohibited the workers to bargain with their employers on their wages and benefits (Patterson 2015). He verbalized that one of the goals for corrections is to increase incentives such as benefits packages and pay increase for their workers. He also shared that the goals for correction is to reintegrate the inmates back into society. The stakeholders in this change include the union workers, families, inmates, and taxpayers. I did not have much history on the topic of corrections and the goals for the future. However, I have heard that some correctional officers felt that they were underpaid and with the shortages. These shortages could contribute to situations that are more dangerous for the offeiceers. I have a friend who works as a correctional officer and with these shortages, he has to work mandatory overtime or have to stay if needed. He has mentioned how frustrating it could be when trying to make and keep plans with his family. Litscher (2016) verbalized that corrections is going through a recruitment process and the classes are getting bigger and with the competitive wages and benefit packages this shortage should come to an end. Nevertheless, I was unaware that the starting pay for a correctional officer is $16, but even with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Although it was written so long ago it is fun to think about what kind of kingdom, or in our case, a business would look like according to ideas laid out in The Prince. When an employee walks in for his first day on the job at Machiavelli Co. they would notice a few important things. One thing to take into account is that the company has been around for a long time and it stomps out any other smaller competition trying to rise. They will also need to work with the Human Resources department to provide the correct number of properly trained staff necessary to complete the different tasks required. ADOPTING A MARKETING APPROACH There are two main marketing approaches that businesses use; Product Oriented and Customer Oriented. The product oriented approach focuses on the product and not the market. It does not take into consideration the views/opinions of the customers. The company may believe that their product is the best on the market, seeing no need for further changes or improvements. However, following the product oriented approach can lead to the downfall of a company, particularly if they are functioning in a highly competitive and rapidly changing market. In the early 17th century, Europeans who came to America thought that African American slaves would be a cheaper and better alternative than the poorer European people that they paid. So, they began working them, and working them until they physically and mentally couldn t anymore, even children would have to slave for these people. The white people of America had the thought process that only because of their skin color, they were automatically better than them. So, they sold the slaves for more desirable ones. The whites or caucasians were blind to the fact that people are people and no one is better or worse than anyone else. Another example of ignorance dealing with race is apartheid. Apartheid happened in South Africa in 1948, and did not end until 1994. Under apartheid, nonwhite South Africans (a majority of the population) would be forced to live in separate areas from whites and use separate public facilities, and contact between the two groups would be limited, (Apartheid History). This means that black people had to live in worse parts of town, while the white people of South Africa lived in the nice, fancy areas. Colored people had to use horrible benches and drinking fountains, whites could use good water and put together benches. In 1950, South Africa made it illegal for whites and blacks to marry each other and did not allow any sexual relations between the two. Well, the City Of Ember by Jeanne Duprau will help you imagine that. The book, City of Ember was published in May 2003. Jeanne Duprau wrote this attention grabbing book because she wanted to put the thought in our minds to not take the simple things like food, water, lights, and a roof over our head for granted. In this book the similarities outnumber the differences. In both the movie and the book Lina is curious about the mayor s actions and the government s decisions. On Lina s way to give the mayor a message she finds herself getting lost in the building and lurking around where she isn t supposed to be and seeing questionable things that her eyes shouldn t be seeing. • 13. Tidal Energy In Nova Scotia Over the years, Nova Scotia has been trying to make the transition into using more renewable energy, as conventional energy is very harsh on the surrounding environment. This can be a difficult task, as renewable energy is much more costly and is less reliable than conventional energy. Conventional energy is beneficial for Nova Scotia because the resources needed are abundant and affordable (Scheid, page 1). Just seven years ago, Nova Scotia was at 10% renewable generation and in 2015, by law, Nova Scotia Power had to get that number up to 25%. By 2020, the province should be at 40% renewable generation so something must be done over the next few years to get Nova Scotia there. This is why tidal energy generation would be much more efficient than hydroelectricity energy generation in Nova Scotia because there are not many strong flowing rivers. The Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) located in California stated that the Bay of Fundy had potential to be the best site in North America for tidal energy generation. I believe that Nova Scotia should take advantage of these tides and use them as an important resource for our province. After the costs of the infrastructure and maintenance, tidal energy generation would be essentially free, as the tides move on their own. A lot of energy can be created through tides, as tidal power is very sensitive to speed. The amount of energy formed is the cube of the speed of the water. For example, if the speed of the flowing water doubles, the energy output is eight times greater. This energy can be formed from both the change in the height of tides, which is potential energy, and the flow of the water, which is kinetic energy.. As of now, the main technologies used are in stream devices, barrages, and tidal lagoons. I think the best solution for Nova Scotia right now would be to build a tidal lagoon in the bay of Fundy. A tidal lagoon is like a barrage (which is essentially a dam built across the whole estuary) but it can be built as a self contained structure. This makes the cost much lower and they can also continuously generate, unlike a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 14. John Locke s Separation Of Personal Identity Locke s argument for the identity of person (spiritual) and the identity of man (material) is not sufficient. However, the distinction Locke made is based on its ontological thinking and does have a practical significance. In my opinion, the problem of identity is not only an extension of ontology, but also have a practical significance based on the issue arose by the separation of identity, that it is unreasonable to talk about identity without any one of the two (spiritual or material). Locke argues that the identity of people does not equal the identity of man, that with the soul alone, it is not possible to form the same person. To take further step of this argument, Locke provides the example of the the Prince and the Cobbler. Adding the Prince s soul into the Cobbler s body, and therefore the Cobbler s body is now having the the Prince s soul, and further more that the Cobbler s body is now having the Prince s personal identity. However, people will not regard the Cobbler as the Prince, for that people are inseparable from the body. Therefore, in such circumstances, Locke believes that people should conclude from this example that the body should be the one to determine whether one is the same person (Locke, 517 518). In this example, Locke wants to establish concepts of the soul (or more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Charles Bailey And Martha Nussbaum This essay is conceived with the purpose of demonstrating personal understanding of liberal education as a result of assessing historic theory of Aristotle and comparing the contemporary theories of Charles Bailey and Martha Nussbaum. In addition, the applicable situations of liberal education and its governing principles will be discussed. Specifically, given the inevitable engagement of compulsory education, which is inherently authoritarian, some aspects of liberal education are limited, and full personal autonomy cannot be actualized. In this situation, liberal education would be less effective and less suitable due to the loss of freedom to some degree. However, the importance of liberal education is vital in breaking old cultural and religious world views to produce open minded students who are capable of critical thinking. In addition, more benefits of liberal education will be shown in my later analysis by comparing it to education that is straightly vocational. Keep in mind it is not the intent of the invasive species to be invasive or they start off being invasive then the ecosystem will find a unique way of bringing everything under control on its own. The ecosystem in town possesses many mechanisms that it needs to keep the whole system equally balanced. The dynamics to help persons in this city strive and restore include predation; the need to prey on other animals is how a species survive, but it should be under control. Conditions and temperature play a large role as well. It is the responsibility of the humans to control the conditions that come into the town by understanding the animals and fish that come into the environment and lake. The environment needs the help and support of the community to be successful. Chief Seattle Speech Summary Two great chiefs, Tecumseh and Seattle, attempted to address the U.S. government s negligence against the Native American tribes, who preceded the very men who ignore their needs. Chief Seattle delivers a speech to President Pierce in 1855, and in it contrasts nature and artificial cities. There is no quiet place in man s cities, no place to hear the leaves of spring or the rustle of insect wings. But perhaps because I am a savage and do not understand, the clatter only seems to insult the ears. (Seattle). He uses imagery to describe the delicacy of nature to the crude artificialness of man s cities , and provide a greater understanding of how their lives differ. Chief Seattle knows that the President, just like all other white me, has preconceptions about Native Americans. He most likely believes them to be too simplistic for white society, and even more so fears them. He already knows that white men perceive them as savages and acknowledges this in his speech in a repetitive manner saying, but we are just savages and do not understand (Seattle) three times. Chief Seattle despite knowing all of this, still attempts to get the white people to understand, because he doesn t want the two peoples, white and red, to live in fear of the other. To help relate this experience for me into a paper I will discuss the different historical elements of how to religiously teach, the learning styles, and some of the things that I will take with me as I go out into the field. While, I believe that the divinity of Jesus is important I feel like there is many more things that need to be discussed than the divinity of Jesus. The next model that Burgess bring up is The Classical Liberal Model of Religious Education, which comes around at about 1910. This method is focuses on being saved through society. Taking a Look at Amphotecering B (AmB) Amphotericin B (AmB), a polyene macrolide antibiotic, is highly effective against various Leishmania species and is currently recommended as first line treatment for the visceral form (Dea Ayuela et al., 2004). Amphoteric nature of AmB contributed by its hydrophobic (the polyene hydrocarbon chain) and hydrophilic (the polyhydroxyl chain) domains, is responsible for poor aqueous and organic solubility, and intercalation into cell membranes to elicit drug s pharmacological effects (Milhaud et al., 2002). Hawthorne explains, Even the poor baby at Hester s bosom was affected by the same influence, for it directed its hitherto vacant gaze towards Mr. Dimmesdale, and held up its little arms with a half pleased, half plaintive murmur (49). Pearl, victim to the Puritan society, will never know what it is like to live a life of normality, nor will she grow up with a father figure; however, even at a young age she expresses an outward connection towards Dimmesdale as if she always knew that he was her father despite her mother s words: ...my child must seek a heavenly father; she shall never know an earthly one! ... • 30. Keeping The Cold And Flu Bugs At Bey Winter is a time of fun in the snow, hot chocolate, and resting by a warm fire. It is also a time for viruses to run a muck. Since I have reached what many call Middle Age , I am more conscious about my health as well as my diet then ever before. I believe in eating healthy, after all our bodies are not designed to process any old junk. My problem is defining what healthy eating really is? After putting Healthy Diet in my Google search engine and getting over 25 million results, all claiming to have the answer I decided to do my own research. I chose to look at the oldest people I know to see if there were any common traits among them. The oldest being just a few months shy of her 100th birthday and the others in their eighties and nineties. Now even though I am by no means a health expert or would I say my research was even close to being accurate or scientific, I did find out what I believe are the two most important factors to living a long life. Before we move on to them though first let me tell you that not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. The Sweatshop Industry and Child Labour in NIC s Essay The Sweatshop Industry and Child Labour in NIC s This report is aimed at investigating if the two major TNC s Nike and Gap manufacture their products according to their code of vendor conduct. Both companies code of vendor conduct clearly states that no workers are employed under the legal minimum age and sweatshops don t exist in their factories. A sweatshop is a factory where employees are subject to extreme exploitation; they work in dreadful conditions with health and safety hazards, for little pay and long hours. Child labour is, as the word suggests, when children under the legal minimum age are employed to work When we hear brand names such as Nike and Gap, most of us will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This excuse hinders outsiders knowing exactly what is happening inside the factory. People didn t want to tell us about the factories whereabouts either, as they were scared of getting physically assaulted by the security men surrounding the factory. At last we found a factory called June Textiles, which manufactured products for both Nike and Gap, but no one would tell us more than that. Checking treatment of workers here was going to be a huge task. The factory was well guarded and looked like any ordinary factory from the outside, but at that time we didn t know what harsh realities workers were facing inside the factory. We needed to talk to the workers on home turf, away from the security men surrounding the factory. Late at night we got a call from a couple of workers who said they were prepared to speak to us, if we met them after their shift, at their home. For them to talk openly about the conditions in the factory was a big step. This was the one of our first big surprises, 8 women were living together in a tiny little room which on a regularly basis had power cuts and was without running water. As we interviewed them they told us that Nike and Gap treat them as dirt, they work 16 hours a day, which is 112 hours a week. This contradicts with Nike and Gap s code of vendor conduct, which says ´´On a regularly scheduled basis requires no more than 60 hours of work per ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. Richard Misrach Analysis Richard Misrach captures the tone of a stark and bleak reality with the darkening clouds and the barrenness of the wasteland in his photo of Wall, East of Nogales, Arizona. He is making a statement about the issues that the U.S. and Mexico have long had. The image displays a wall surrounded by desolation with a path by it s side leading off toward the darkening clouds. The wall continues until it melds with the wasteland. The path is joined by a smaller path that merges into it. After it goes over a hill, it disappears. The clouds darken when approaching the horizon. The yellow and brown weeds and grasses of the hilly plains leads to forbidding mountains. There is a small light post on the wall. All in all, it is a depressing sight to see. Richard Misrach is implying that the future of the U.S. and Mexico is bound together and will see dark times before reaching an impassable obstacle if there is no change in their policies involving each other. Everything in the image ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The wall represents the barrier between U.S. and Mexico, a barrier between not only countries but people as well. The wall merging with the hill represents that this self constructed barrier will be instrumental to the future. The path is a symbol of the political stances the countries are taking. The merging of the two paths show that this fate is to be shared by both the U.S. and Mexico. The clouds represent the future, the darkening of the clouds symbolizes the bleak outcomes to be expected should this route be continued. The yellow and brown weeds demonstrate the toxic and decayed relations between the U.S. and Mexico. The way hills eventually lead to mountains suggest that conditions will worsen until there is a mountain that Mexico and the U.S. cannot bypass together or alone right now. The light offers a dim glimpse of relief and hope against the crushing atmosphere of the environment. Individually, each part has a very clear ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
