The First Amendment Right To Freedom Of Social Media
Social media. People s daily lives revolve around social media sites such as Twitter, Instagram, and
Youtube; the growing number of social media sites and users has increased the likeliness of these
social media sites being used as news sources. Protecting the freedom of speech on social media will
spread important worldwide news like wildfire, informing users of social media sites about current
events quickly and expands the knowledge people have on situations happening in different countries
that can t be or aren t reported by news reporters. Social media takes up a considerable portion of
people s lives. A myriad of people use social media; this makes news stories and articles on social
media sites are a convenient way for people to obtain information about current events happening
around the world. The author of Journalism and the Digital Revolution states, Facebook, Twitter, and

This explains that since anybody can access the Internet and social media, data and information can be

fallacious statements spreading like wildfire on the Internet. However, my claim of social media being

How Did Elvis Presley Influence Society
Elvis Aaron Presley, otherwise known as The King was born on January 8th, 1935. He came from
simple beginnings; being born into a lower class family in Tupelo, Mississippi. In 1948, at the age of
13 Elvis Presley and his family moved to Memphis, Tennessee. Soon he launched his incredibly
successful music career with Sun Records at the age of 19 in 1954. His music was influenced by both
African American and White artists causing his unique blend of country, pop, rhythm and blues, and
gospel music. Presley was heavily influenced by artists such as Chuck Berry, Fats Domino, and Buddy
Holly. Though Presley was widely known for his provocative dances moves and his popularization of
Rock n Roll Presley impacted American culture in a much larger aspect. His influence on Americans
and American culture aided desegregation and civil rights during his period of influence and helped
create youth culture . Presley facilitated desegregation through his music genre and selection. He did
this by creating music for both Black and White listeners integrating the two music genres. For
instance, Elvis Presley s first single released in July of 1954 began his career of integrating Black and
White music. This record contained a cover of That s All Right an R B song which was originally
written and recorded by the African American artist Arthur Crudup on side A. While side B was a
recording of a cover of the bluegrass song Blue Moon of Kentucky by the white artist Bill Monroe.
This representation showed the American people that both Black and White culture could live side by
side beautifully. This record also displayed the beginning Presley s attitude and complete disregard for
segregation. This portrayal of mixing these cultures came at an especially tense time in American
history. Two months before Presley released these songs the case of Brown Vs. Board of Education
had come to a ruling. The Brown Vs. Board of Education case was a case filed against the Topeka,
Kansas school board because a Black child was denied access to a White school. The plaintiff argued
that the segregated schools were separate but not equal and violated the equal protection clause in the
14th amendment. In May of 1954 the U.S. Supreme Court

Poetry during the Roman empire played a prevalent role in society along with what was being
discussed and studied around the cities under their rule. However, what is less known are the roles
society and the people played, in what type of poetry, language, and tone were used. Latin poetry,
through symbolism and humanity s ideology, represents the evolution of the Roman era and
government. Latin literature leaves behind a lasting legacy of the culture of ancient Rome. Some of
the earliest works are historical epics telling of the early military history of Rome, followed by
comedies, histories and tragedies. The comedies were the earliest as the Roman empire was strong and
they could have fun because there was nothing to worry about. The tragedies were written during the
collapse of the Roman empire. This is an example of how the people and situations surrounding the

Hyperbole In Endings By Mona Van Duyn
Once in a blue moon, a person will find their soulmate story. The one they ve adopted as their own.
The one they don t ever want to finish, that they can t live without. Sometimes, that story doesn t end
the way they want and sometimes that story ends too early leaving them baffled and clueless. Endings
written by Mona Van Duyn is a poem about a person determined to find the ending of a story they
have become extremely attached to. The late writer is known for her examination of the daily lives of
ordinary people (Britannica Mona Van Duyn). It is easy for her to relate to normal people and remind
them of the feelings they once had. Duyn s poem simulates convincing feelings of comfort,
desperation and determination using literary devices, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, they see themselves when they too fall in love with their story of a lifetime. Mona Van
Duyn uses simple imagery to set the scene and give the reader a sense of home. In the quote Setting
the V.C.R. when we go to bed to record a night owl movie (ls.1,2), Duyn takes this subtle imagery to
make the reader comforted. People bring back this sense of home from the back of their mind. They
understand the feel of a movie night, and because that feeling is so common, she doesn t need to use
detailed imagery to lure the readers into the poem. Duyn can create an opportunity for the reader to
relate to the person in the poem. Tears will salt the left over salad I seize during ads, or laughter slow
my hurry to pee (ls. 13,14). In this line the readers can let out their uncertainties about the character
because they can relate to them. The humor Duyn uses is just one way of knocking down the walls
that separate the reader from the narrator and making the reader become one with the poem. It allows
the reader to reflect themselves onto the character, and the character becomes them. Duyn creates an
atmosphere of dramatic desperation using shifting mood. In the beginning of the poem, she creates a
calm setting where the reader feels safe. We watch next evening, and having slowly found the start of
the film, meet the minors and leads, enter their time and place, their wills and needs (ls. 6 8). This line

China And Its Regulation System
Despite what many people think, China and its regulation system (limited market access) had made it
difficult for foreign banks to provide their services. For instance, foreign banks were licensed to
provide corporate banking service only to foreign invested enterprises. Few licensed braches were
allowed to operate as foreign banks. Indeed, foreign banks need licenses from central bank. However,
the bank´s senior knew this would be a slow process since the China state banks were usually run by
bureaucrats and unable to set their own deposits and interest rate level.

Discussion: Our results show that there was not a significant difference between the different tank
densities and the number of antennal groomings within them. (P=0.31). There was also no indication
of a statistically significant difference between the tanks when pheromones were not present and when
pheromones were present (see fig.1). One aspect of our results was close to having a significant
difference. There was no difference among the frequency of male antennal grooming between the
three different B. dubia densities with pheromones, but the data was close to being statistically
significant (p= 0.051), and we think that with more refined methods, and a better understanding of B.

activity would be the most important aspect of cockroach behavior when it came to the spread of
disease and social interactions, but our data did not support our hypothesis. We made many
observations, that we did not quantify, that demonstrated much more active behavior in the presence
of pheromones. These behaviors, including males approaching the cotton ball with the female

Don t Abandon Due Process, Not Even for Terrorism is an editorial written on September 22nd by
Andrew Napolitano published on Reason.com. The editorial discusses the use by the American justice
system of Due Process in extreme cases such as terrorism. Due Process is defined as, fair treatment
through the normal judicial system, especially as a citizen s entitlement. Since the turn of the twenty
first century, there has been a worldwide increase in the amount of large scale terror attacks especially
on our domestic soil. Napolitano s editorial pulls upon many sources such as factual information,
testimonials, and recent events. His argument can be summed up in a sentence: Without due process
for those we hate and fear, even those whose guilt is obvious, we will all lose our freedoms. In the
editorial Napolitano hits on three major points: the constitutional bindings of our country, the recent
track record of our country with terrorism, and his own experience as a New Jersey Superior Court
judge for eight years.
To begin Napolitano s reputation is the reason he is so qualified to speak on this issue. Napolitano is a
former judge of the Superior Court of New Jersey and the senior judicial analyst at Fox News.
Napolitano has written nine books on the U.S. Constitution. Though his background in law and the
judicial systems will give him impulse to make his argument favor the Constitution as it is interpreted.
Napolitano closes with a quote from Supreme

The Code Of Computer Related Jobs
In today s world computers play a crucial role in everyday life. Many different types of jobs are
offered with computers. One essential branch of computer related jobs is Software Development.
Software developers program and write the code of software used on computers. Without software
developers computers would have very little use and very few features. While researching Software
Development I took many steps to increase my understanding of the career. I started my career
research by searching for general information about the career. This research was performed during
class in the computer lab. I found that on average Software Developers make $43,640 $101,410
annually. I then searched for information about the education and training that is beneficial to
someone in this career. I found that a major in computer science or related subject would be the
standard major for a Software Developer. I also found that math classes such as Calculus are
beneficial to understanding software development. I then researched useful skills and traits of
Software Developers. Some useful traits are creativity, problem solving, and a basic understanding of
digital media. These traits contribute to the success of a developer. I found this research gathered to be
helpful in my further understanding of the career. At home I researched more information about the
career. I found that the most job opportunities are offered in California and surrounding areas, but

Literary Analysis of The Greatest Generation by Tom Brokaw
They came of age during the Great Depression and the Second World War and went on to build
modern America; men and women whose everyday lives of duty, honor, achievement, and courage
made our nation the greatest on earth. This quote is fittingly descriptive of the achievements and
importance the post World War II generation had on us. In Tom Brokaw s Book, The Greatest
Generation, Brokaw describes in a very personal and detailed way, the lives of a handful of World War
II veterans, some famous and others unknown, but all had a great impact on the world as we know it.
Brokaw is trying to illustrate to us how these men delivered under enormous and constant pressure,

He worked under constant fire to help save lives and through his courage, many Americans were able
to go home and see their families after the war. Another example of courage is the story of Joe Foss, A
Marine Pilot who single handedly shot down 26 enemy planes during his time and once had to swim
for twelve hours in order to be rescued by American Forces. He was back in the air a few days later.
Many of his friends used to say that he had all the balls of any man who walked the earth. The courage
he showed after going through such an ordeal like the one he went through exemplifies the type of
individual that makes up the greatest generation . Courage was a virtue that was found in most if not
all of the men who fought for our country in Vietnam. This book also shows the dark sides of the
generation that fought for our country. It points out the racism and ignorance shown towards those of
different backgrounds and ethnicities. Although those who served in the military fought their hearts
out, they still held the prejudices that they had learned and grown up knowing in their hearts. They
treated those that were dissimilar with ignorance and in some cases malice. An example of this is the
story of Johnny Holmes. During his military service, he was forced to undergo medical experiments
such as getting his teeth drilled without Novocain. Holmes was an integral part of one of the first all

Firearms In America
Firearms seem to have such a strong impact on today s society in America. However, since so many
problems have arisen from these dangerous objects, many are calling for restrictions on what the
American public can and cannot have as far as weaponry goes. For instance, an AK 47 is pointless to
sell to the public if the main reason that people get weapons is to hunt! There is absolutely no reason
that a deer needs thirty bullets shot straight through him to die. It only takes one bullet. Unless, of
course, the animal had a bulletproof vest on and a six inch thick shield of armor protecting it, which in
that case, fire away! Another reason it seems that guns have been negatively affecting America s

Charles Darwin to Dr Jekyll and Mr. Hyde
How does Stevenson present duality in Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde? Stevenson presents duality in Dr.
Jekyll and Mr. Hyde in various ways. One of these variations of the duality is among the minor
characters, for example Utterson and Enfield. Their similarity is that they are both respectable
Victorian gentlemen, that both like to discuss stories but they feel it is gossiping about their friend and
say let us make a bargain to never refer to this again , this shows that they feel that they have over
stepped the mark and have stumbled upon something that is better left alone, this is also the first

Jekyll). But the novel was also partly based on a play Deacon Brodia (1880) which is about a publicly
respectable gentleman but privately a thief and rakehell. The novel had been considered by some
people, mainly the higher ranked and important persons of the 19th centaury, as a criticism of
Victorian double morality meaning they felt it was presenting a false image of what went on in
London. They may have also have felt that it was encouraging other people to do things considered
wrong like. This shows duality between the novel and the behaviour in London during the 19th
centaury. The novel also creates a lot of tension as you progress through the text. It rises every time
something is discovered in the mystery of Hyde which strengthens it s the detective/mystery genre. At
the beginning all is calm but as Hyde comes to life, the tension rises. A really damnable man this
shows us how much Hyde is hated, but this also shows us where the tension begins to rise. The tension
is near enough sky high when the quotes something wrong with his appearance and He must be

Hyde. The weather is a ladder for the tension, described as a wild, cold, seasonable night of March ...

Gene Smith uncovered some interesting statistics regarding the Oakland School District s supply
ordering habits. Through the growth of the school district, purchase orders for supplies had risen to
astronomical levels. Over the course of the previous year, purchase orders (including original orders
and change orders) had grown to an astounding 36,842, or nearly 3,100 orders per month. These
orders came from one or more of approximately 1,300 suppliers. Even more astonishing was the low

One issue that may arise is the unwillingness of a person or department to bend on an issue that could
save time in another area of the process. Another issue could be the follow up required after the big
meeting. Additionally, if the process becomes stagnant, the managerial Champions for Change must
be able and willing to motivate the cross functional team in a timely fashion to get the job done. If for
some reason even the perception of managerial support slips, the team s hopes for change may be
dashed as well. A second recommendation would be to encourage each school in the district to have a
stock of inventory on hand in each building. This is not to say that each building should have
storeroom after storeroom full of just in case supplies. Utilizing the most current, complete two years
of data, an analysis of each school s supplies should be conducted. From that information, which
should be easy to obtain based on the amount of information that the accounting department requires
for each and every order, it should be obvious what each school s top ten regularly ordered supplies
are. By completing the school by school analysis and allowing each location to place a once per
quarter or once per semester stock supply order, each school will reduce waste in the form of time and
will save money by filling that time with a value added function. Some issues that may arise with this

Art Marks should vote to make an investment in Telco Exchange because the company possesses
many of the components which could make it a potential 67 million dollar company (from our

If they did not vote to invest in Telco, would it not only result in time being wasted both for Telco and
also Valhalla but could also result in letting go of a great investment opportunity.
The Top Three Risks Facing Telco Exchange
One of the major risks facing Telco is their CEO is 70 years old and his son being the CTO could give
rise to a conflict of interest. Bryant Dunetz had agreed to step down and allow Valhalla to search for a
new CEO. This could be a risky endeavor because Dunetz may either refuse to step down after
negotiations or the new CEO may not be a good fit. The other two major risk factors is they do not
have a strong executive management team and their competition in this market space is ramping up
and soon they will not be the top solutions provider for large corporate telecom equipment and
services. With Valhalla having only 25% of the voting rights in the company after the capital issue,
they may not have the ability to force their way with the future management. Meanwhile the average
time of determining success of a venture capital investment is 18 months. Replacing the entire
management team and vetting that process out would take up a significant chunk of that time. Lastly,
Valhalla does have to move quickly to get Telco the capital they need to gain as much market share as
quickly as possible. The

The Cultural Experience Of The Biennale Of Sydney
If each era posits its own view of reality, what is ours? Stephanie Rosenthal
Sydney s 20th Biennale is entitled The future is already here it s just not evenly distributed, where it
explores the ideas about technology, virtual reality, science fiction and the ways in which individuals
and communities are living in an increasingly digital and technological world. This theme was
inspired by an American Canadian science fiction writer. The artistic director, Stephanie Rosenthal
investigates the relationship we have with technology and the power it holds to transport us to another
world allowing new concepts and opportunities to arise however it also removes us from our
environment and physical bodies.
The aims of the Biennale of Sydney is to allow inventive and creative experimentation to be explored
and to challenge the norms of predictable artmaking practices. The Biennale advocates a real cultural
experience through combining the many different artworks created by many different artists
instigating a global conversation about art. The Biennale occurs every two years in Sydney and brings
such a cultural experience to the Sydney.
The 20th Biennale of Sydney is presented in seven main venues around Sydney and each location is
known as an embassy , where they display different ideas however are connected. Having the
exhibition spread over these venues is beneficial giving the audience variety in choice and a different
experience depending on the venue. The

Health Benefits Of A Free Diet
Many people say they are going Gluten Free . This means that the person is transitioning to a diet
where they do not eat gluten. By doing this, they are excluding wheat, barley, rye and possibly oats
from their diet. Gluten is a protein that is not crucial to being an overall healthy person. (4) The Gluten
Free Diet was created for those who have medical reasons to not eat gluten. Medical reasons could be
celiac disease, wheat allergies, gluten sensitivity, dermatitis herpetiformis, ataxia and other
neurological manifestations, irritable bowel syndrome, and using gluten to treat autism. (4) However,
the diet is being used by those who do not have a practical medical reason to be practicing this diet.
The Gluten Free Diet rose in popularity when some research was introduced, that is still being
continued, that questioned the health effects of not eating gluten. This argued that humans were never
meant to properly digest gluten and naming the health benefits to adopting a Gluten Free Diet. In the
past decade, the fame of the diet has increased significantly. The perception of the diet has shifted
from being associated to eating rice cakes that tasted like Styrofoam and were very dry to the current
Gluten Free Diet that is alleged to being tasty and healthy. With this perception change, the sales
increased and the business boomed into a $1 billion dollar business and continues to grow. (4)

`` Our Story `` By Susan Griffin
In many places throughout the world there are rigid top down cultures and theories on education.
These cultures have been seen in World War II Germany, in literature, and in education. It has been
shown throughout history that these cultures can and will cause many problems to fester as a result.
These issues include the manufacturing of sheep like masses that simply follow what they are told and
taught, the culture losing its ability to distinguish between what is morally right and wrong, and the
forced masking of emotions and true feelings. The only way to prevent a culture from simply
manufacturing sheep like masses is by encouraging people to not be afraid to stand out in a crowd and
allowing, and even embracing, free thinking.
In Our Story by Susan Griffin there is a complex story involving Heinrich Himmler that she uses to
explain exactly how rigid top down societies and an expectation to be normal can cause a culture to
lose its ability to think critically on a subject. Her first example describes how Himmler grew up in
German in the early 20th century, and how it affected his life and the course of history. In that time the
culture of Germany was of strong patriarchal values and held an expectation of men to be a strong and
masculine image. The problem with this expectation and Himmler is that Himmler did not fit this
image. As a child he was labeled frail and vulnerable, which was not acceptable in German culture at
this time. Because of this he always felt

The Threat Of Terrorism And Terrorism
The uncertainty of a terrorist attack lingers in the minds of not only civilians, but business owners as
well. All over the world there is an increased threat of terrorism that public, private and governmental
companies face that requires companies to have an increased knowledge and understanding on how to
manage the risk of terrorism. With not a single country being able to escape the threat of terrorism,
how does a company manage the risk of something that is so hard to measure yet, one of the most
catastrophic things a company could imagine that may result in loss of employees and the ability to
perform daily operations. Even if the likelihood seems small, it is essential to take steps to protect
your business due to terrorist attacks. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After 9/11 insurance companies were hit with hundreds of claims that estimated to be forty billion
dollars and the insurance companies began to turn people away and saying that their insurance plans
did not cover the destruction from the terrorist hijackings.
One of the industries that was hit the hardest after 9/11 was the airline industry because the airlines did
not plan for the risk of their airplanes being hijacked because it seemed so unlikely that an event like
this could happen. From reduction in demand to the new air security procedures, the industry has
never been the same. An immediate effect of the terrorist attack was seen when the airlines shut down
completely for several days due to the event. Even after the airlines reopened a majority of the nation
felt uneasy about using airlines as their mode of transportation in fear that the event could happen
again. USA Today said that airlines experienced at least a 30 percent reduction in demand during the
initial shock period . The industry was faced with a dramatic reduction in demand and passengers
canceling their flights, and was now faced with the issue of having to increase spending on security.
The United States congress had to step in and help the industry and give over ten billion dollars in
loans, and even after congress gave loans several airlines still had to declare bankruptcy. One of the
airlines that declared bankruptcy

Sea Horse Adaptation
An Adaptation on Sea Horses Over the years sea horses have adapted to their environments very well
so far. They re good at catching their food and keeping quiet while doing it. Especially with their
camouflage skills. All they have to do is stay still, stay in camouflage, wait for the bait, and then jump
out and take it. So, sea horses have adapted quite well. One way that sea horses have been able to
adapt is their hard scales. Their scales keep them protected from hard hits and of course almost getting
a big bite taken out of them. If something does try to take a bite it won t do anything because of how
non tender they are. It states in paragraph 4, sentence 3, that, This makes them less than tender snacks
for most predators.

Symbols In The Alchemist By Paulo Coleho
Symbols in The Alchemist Paulo Coleho uses the symbols of objects, words, and emotions to explore
the theme of The Alchemist. It surprised me, it takes somebody 4 hours to read The Alchemist,
because of how many symbols it has. Symbols range from glassware, personal legends, and being lost
in life. Coleho perfected his symbols in this story. In the first half of the novel, it starts off with the
boy talking about why he wanted to be a shepard. It was because he could travel and see the world.
One symbol I noticed is, at the start he didn t care how long he took to do activity s. As he kind of
stumbled upon the path of life all he did was travel and care for his sheep. I feel that he was somewhat
lost. After he made a trip to a town, he visited a woman who interpreted dreams. The woman scared
the boy as she started to pray. To him it sounded like a gypsy prayer he had experience with them
before. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After having traveled for a very long time the boy is now working for a crystal merchant. As we
continue to read about Santiago Coleho incorporates more symbols, including the desert, and many
more. The crystal glass ware the merchant has, symbolizes fragility and clarity. The cobra symbolizes
danger and strength. In The Alchemist the alchemist draws a circle around the cobra calming it down.
not to worry said the alchemist he won t leave the circle (122). The circle obviously set boundaries for
the cobra. The boy continues to push for his personal legend on his journey towards the pyramids. To
the boy it represents the end of his adventure, But the pyramids symbolize the ancient and inscrutable.
The Alchemist had already found his personal legend and knew this. Lastly, One more symbol I am
going to go over are the hawks. The hawks symbolize aggression, aggression can be tamed. A hawk is
a predator and born with

Wealth Argument Analysis
A middle class citizen sits in a courtroom while a wealthy citizen sits in a different courtroom. Same
charge, different outcome. The wealth gives the first class citizen a very unfair advantage within the
judicial system. First, he can hire lawyers that know how to find any and every loophole in the system
to get their client off with little to no charges. Even if the charge is as drastic as manslaughter. This
happens everyday all over the country as wealth bails people out of consequences.

Theories Of Addiction
Before taking this course and reading the material I was shockingly and embarrassingly unaware that

Yet, unaware of the developed theories that explained a perspective towards addiction with outlined

Dorothea Orem has developed three connecting theories: the theory of self care, the theory of self care

of a discipline (2011). George further states that the metaparadigm of the discipline of nursing

The mom is extremely unhealthy and has chosen to do many inappropriate things which my uncle has

For example the Kainai, which means many leaders , did not choose to be referred to as the Blood
Nation (Bastien 2004, 10). There are many explanations as to how the Kanai became widely referred
to as the Blood Peoples. One explanation is that it comes from a Cree term used to describe the Kanai
by the red paint, which looks like blood, that is used in ceremony to paint their face and hands red. A
second explanation is there was a mistranslation of a term used to describe the Kanai as wearers of
white weasel pelts, to wearers of blood (Bastien 2004, 10). This mistranslation comes from the
similarities of the words for blood and the term used to describe the changing of the white weasel pelts
to white with the seasons (Bastien 2004, 10). In this case, the Kanai, through the use of their language
are asserting their preference to be known as the many chiefs, over the Blood Peoples or the wearers
of blood. Though today, the Blackfoot territory is defined by reserve/reservation boundaries and
divided by the United States Canadian border, their homeland, Nitawahsinnanni ( our land ), continues

Essay dreams
Dreams have long fascinated the human race. This alternate reality, separate from the conscious world
we see around us, has captured the interest of many people throughout history. In fact, mankind has
been studying dreams since the invention of the written word. Perhaps the lure of dreams is that there
seems to be some significance behind them. Most reject the idea that dreams are just random
meaningless fragments of data. The vivid sensations that dreams create are just too powerful to ignore.
The world of dreams is filled with peculiar phenomenon and unexpected events that beg our attention.
Consider the following example of a dream:

However, this kind of thinking did not last long. A Greek philosopher in the 5th Century named
Heraclitus was probably the first to suggest that dreams actually originated from within. He stated that
each individual s dreams were unique and were products of his own mind. Socrates and Plato followed
where Heraclitus left off, corroborating his theory with their own research. Finally it was Aristotle
who completely dispelled the notion that dreams were attempts at divine communication. His practical
approach to dream research paved the way for future scholars such as Freud and Jung. Aristotle stated
that dreams were most often fragments of the days events, and could sometimes provide insight into
one s personal problems. (Parker 10 15)
In 1899, more than two thousand years after Aristotle, Sigmund Freud published The Interpretation of
Dreams and modern dream psychology was born (Fontana 26). Freud looked down on other methods
of dream interpretation because they were too rigid. Psychologists would create lists of dream symbols
along with their meaning so that they could quickly look up the meaning of a dream. Freud believed
that each person associated dream symbols with different things. For example, a ship going through a
storm could represent a difficult time at work for one person, but it could represent a health problem
for someone else. Freud developed his own method of dream interpretation, which he called free

Prior to the revolution, the Episcopal Church in the U.S existed nearly 200 years without bishops; this
was due in part to American resistance and the slow reaction of the Church of England (Ward 52). In
1622, the Church of England became established in Virginia; a crown colony, which had governor
appointed by the king (Ward 48). After the revolution Anglicanism in America was in a disarray, some
believers fled the country, while others were faced with the question of how to give shape to their
community of worship under changed circumstances (Linzey and Kirker 3). Eventually the Protestant
Episcopal Church was formed ( Ward 54). Christianity was a religion that grew alongside with
America, this allowed the religion to become adjusted to local adaptations, and grow and change along
with various civil rights movements. In Africa, Anglicanism first accompanied the British involvement
in the Atlantic slave trade (Ward 112). Missionary movements in areas such as Nigeria and Uganda,
which have a strong Anglican presence, helped the religion to prosper. Christianity first arrived to
Uganda in the 1870 s, during this period the area was under strong Muslim influence and was popular

Reflection Of World War 1
World war 1 has been traumatic event yet it s crucial to learn about our world s history. World
War 1 connects its past with our presence through morals and perspective. In this case,
it s essential to take a look at other people s perspective of the war. One example is to look at
Canadian soldier named Walter Earnest Peter Flett, who served in The Royal Naval Air Service.
Walter wrote a letter to his sister on April 17th, 1917, after the reprisal bombing raid in Freiburg,
Germany. This letter demonstrates this occurrence when he was almost killed in
an aircraft 12,200 feet above ground. During the battle, Walter s aircraft, was being surrounded
by multiple Huns, a word used to describe Germans. During this crisis, his aircraft tails and
his elevator control wires were being attacked with machine guns but suddenly, he was
saved from shell fires, which attacked the Huns. Walter s aircraft had a broken tail but luckily, he
was rescued by a French plane and assisted by French fliers. Although he had a small injury
, he was able to leave the war and become a hero in Canada.
This experience had a great impact on Walter. This letter demonstrates Walter s
excitement of leaving the war and returning back to his family. However, Walter experienced a
life threatening battle; hence, he was traumatized and distressed by the event.
In the end, he was awarded Cross De Guene and The Distinguished Service Cross,
which is a big accomplishment for him because

Adenosine Function In The Body
Function in the body Adenosine primarily acts in the central nervous system. It promotes sleep in the
evening and assists the brain to wake up in the morning. The concentration of adenosine is highest in
the brain during waking hours and it builds up the longer a person is awake. Since the ATP reserves
are depleted and stored in the brain, it results in the buildup of adenosine in the brain. When a person
is asleep, adenosine is metabolized by adenosine deaminase, which results in a decreased
concentration in the brain in the morning which causes a person to wake up. In the brain there are
several receptors for adenosine, one being the A1 receptors which are mostly in the cerebellum, it
helps with memory storage. A2 receptors are in the striatum ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Leadership Skills And Practices Of Leadership Essay
1. Leadership is defined by several principles of knowledge, applied knowledge and results. Oxford
Dictionary defined leadership simply as, the action of leading a group of people or an organization .
The Coast Guard sets a great store on the concept and application of leadership skills and practices.
The service begins training the enlisted workforce leadership skills at the most basic level in boot

are elements for leadership. We place such a store on leadership the Coast Guard created the

In medieval Japan, education started to take center stage. First, this essay will focus on why education

What Are The Three Postulates Of Cell Theory
LESSON 1: CELL THEORY AND ITS PARTS/ORGANELLES AND FUNCTIONS
Living and Non living Things
All the things we see on earth are created by God Almighty. The rocks, air, soil, chemicals, plants,
trees, animals, humans among others exist on earth. But, we can classify them as living and non living
things. Living or biotic things have life, and therefore, governed by cells which performed roles for
life to occur. These are plants, animals and humans. On the other hand, non living or abiotic things do
not have life but they are essential to the existence of life. These are the rocks, soil and air.

Based on Bolsover et al. (2004), a cell has parts, structures or organelles (Table 2) that have a
respective function as a whole for life to occur (Figure 2). Generally, cells have parts such as nucleus,
mitochondria, Golgi apparatus, endoplasmic reticulum, lysosomes and cell membrane. Different
structure has different function but working as a whole. One structure cannot make life possible but
many complex structures and functions contribute to the existence of

Research Paper On Raccoons
It was the winter of 2009, my siblings and I went to go play in the snow. We went to the backyard, and
in order to go to the backyard we had to jump the fence. We were having a great time; we made a
snow fort, had a snowball fight, but when we were playing tag my brother tripped and twisted his
ankle. We were going to take him back inside so we were about to leave but, he couldn t climb over
the fence and it was buried in the snow so we couldn t move it. My friend Caleb, and his sister heard
and we tried to move the fence together. Eventually they gave up, and went back home because their
mom was calling them. Which made me kind of angry, but I realized that ninety five percent of friends
don t have that bond that family does. We stayed with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was really easy, it was too easy when we got there we went in the pool and 30 seconds later we saw
there was a raccoon we stared at it then ran away screaming! The raccoon started chasing us, we ran
up the stairs screaming then in perfect unison we slammed the hallway door and sat behind it. Then
we realized we left the key at the pool... so we went down together and saw the raccoon again so we
went grabbed the card when I fell in the pool. Instead of leaving me, my sister helped me out and we
left.
Now you may be wondering what the heck this has to with family? Well instead of leaving me at the
mercy of some crazy Raccoon she risked herself to help me out, but it turned out the Raccoon wasn t
going to hurt us. It s the thought that matters, aright?
This doesn t mean you have to stay with family forever, we all get sick, and tired of our family every
once in a while. On the other hand just thinking that if my family died I wouldn t be able to function it
would be like a huge void in my heart so whenever I think of that I am thankful, to have family that I
can believe will be with me forever until we re nothing but dust and

Politics And History Through An Alternative Path For Self...

Politics and history through an alternative path to self rule
Lagaan (2001), through the setting of Hindi cinema and the popular appeal of cricket, charts an
alternative history of India, from the colonised past of 1893 to an ideal post colonial future. Using
elements of pop culture, the director Ashutosh Gowarikar transforms the singularity of Champaneer s
struggle against triple lagaan, into a microcosm of an Indian nation s ideal path toward self rule.
Notably, this self rule is ideologically centred ex ante on Gandhi s vision of self sufficient village
units, as mentioned in Hind Swaraj . In doing so, Gowarikar is able to (a) tell the historical tale of
colonial rule and oppression in India, and (b) through dealing with Champaneer s internal struggles
toward becoming a self sufficient village unit, highlight current thorny issues of Indian politics.
Gowarikar uses the popularity of cricket in India as a catalyst for a nationalistic struggle. Although the
wager is based on the amelioration of economic conditions for Champaneer (namely triple lagaan
versus no lagaan), the bet transforms into a struggle for independence and self rule through the
medium of cricket. To the audience, cricket gives this marginalised, hitherto unknown village a
(notably non violent) medium with which they can resist colonial oppression. While the villagers fight
for the right to pay no tax for three years, the audience is invited to interpret

be a model that you stand by at all time. Even though these words may be true, how are you using the
moments that you have today to make the company better tomorrow? By looking at models of
utilization and asking the right questions we have some suggestion for Communications Electronics
when it comes to down time in the field and how to make everyone better. The most valuable that
anyone has in this world is time because it s always moving and you can never get it back once you ve
lost it. This was an area that we wanted to focus on. An example of this would be a crew goes out to a
work site to complete work on a D.A.S. when words goes out that is to hot to work outside and the job
can t be completed that day. What does the team do now that they can t complete the job today? Do
they go home after only few hours worked or could there time be better utilized off site? We live in an

The Disagreements Over the Health Effects of Probiotics Essay
Since the year 1965, the term probiotics has been used. Lilly and Stillwell were the first to describe
probiotics as substances secreted by one organism, which stimulated growth of other organisms
(Gupta, 2009). It was however, Elie Metchnikoff in the 1900s who first suggested that there were
health properties in lactic acid bacteria from fermented food products (Anukam, 2007). Since then, the
meaning has undergone some changes, one of the most recent definitions is that probiotics are
beneficial live microorganisms, which must be consumed in a sufficient amount for the desired health
effect (Guarner, 1998). The Food and Agriculture Organisation/World Health Organisation has
adopted this definition but there are many other organisations ... Show more content on

Therefore the bacterium ability to tolerate different pH levels is a crucial factor in determining their
probiotic use. Ability to attach to the gut epithelial cells and adequate production of antimicrobial
substances are also other important properties of probiotics (Granato, 2010). In terms of commercial
use and manufacturing, probiotics must be resilient and maintain cell viability during periods of
processing, packaging and storage (Saarela, 2009).
The number food companies that are now using strains of Lactic acid bacteria and Bifidobacteria in
their food products has increased considerably and it is now diary probiotic products that are making
between 60% 70% of the functional food market (Mohammadi, 2012). Fermented milk and yogurt
beverages are the main source of probiotics in supermarkets but there are also capsule and powder
formations in addition. The popularity of these products has increased due to the number of
documented benefits of consuming probiotic bacteria and support from media and marketing.
The documented health and nutritional benefits from consumption of probiotic food products show
alleviating gastrointestinal problems and many other health benefits (Granato, 2010). Various
randomised controlled trials have shown that in children with acute diarrhoea, probiotics has reduced
the duration of diarrhoea by reducing stool frequency. It has shown to be a safe intervention however

Effects Of The On Fetal Alcohol Syndrome
During 1720 1750, there was a limited amount of control on the production and selling of gin in
England due to Parliament. This resulted in an increase in alcohol intake. During this period, fetal and
infant death rates were at it highest [1]. The medical society did not believe consumption of alcohol
was the cause of the high rise in birth defects at the time. With the repeal of the prohibition on alcohol
in 1933, doctors believed it had beneficial effects to the point of intravenous treatments with alcohol
were used to delay preterm labor. In the 1950s to 1960s, there was another rise in fetal birth defects
called the thalidomide scare . Thalidomide was used to relieve morning sickness experienced during
pregnancy. This scare caused scientists to realize that certain types of drugs given during pregnancy,
affected the development of the fetus. It wasn t until 1973, when two pediatricians, David Smith and
Kenneth Jones, whom specialized in dysmorphology, the study of abnormalities present at birth,
published their article on Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. In their study, they examined eight children to
determine what caused their developmental impediments. These children were characterized with
growth deficiencies, microcephaly, and impaired cognitive development. All their mothers were
alcoholics, which resulted in Smith and Jones to believe alcohol was causing defects in the offspring
[2]. Many discoveries have been made since 1973 that involve fetal exposure to alcohol,

  • 3. How Did Elvis Presley Influence Society Elvis Aaron Presley, otherwise known as The King was born on January 8th, 1935. He came from simple beginnings; being born into a lower class family in Tupelo, Mississippi. In 1948, at the age of 13 Elvis Presley and his family moved to Memphis, Tennessee. Soon he launched his incredibly successful music career with Sun Records at the age of 19 in 1954. His music was influenced by both African American and White artists causing his unique blend of country, pop, rhythm and blues, and gospel music. Presley was heavily influenced by artists such as Chuck Berry, Fats Domino, and Buddy Holly. Though Presley was widely known for his provocative dances moves and his popularization of Rock n Roll Presley impacted American culture in a much larger aspect. His influence on Americans and American culture aided desegregation and civil rights during his period of influence and helped create youth culture . Presley facilitated desegregation through his music genre and selection. He did this by creating music for both Black and White listeners integrating the two music genres. For instance, Elvis Presley s first single released in July of 1954 began his career of integrating Black and White music. This record contained a cover of That s All Right an R B song which was originally written and recorded by the African American artist Arthur Crudup on side A. While side B was a recording of a cover of the bluegrass song Blue Moon of Kentucky by the white artist Bill Monroe. This representation showed the American people that both Black and White culture could live side by side beautifully. This record also displayed the beginning Presley s attitude and complete disregard for segregation. This portrayal of mixing these cultures came at an especially tense time in American history. Two months before Presley released these songs the case of Brown Vs. Board of Education had come to a ruling. The Brown Vs. Board of Education case was a case filed against the Topeka, Kansas school board because a Black child was denied access to a White school. The plaintiff argued that the segregated schools were separate but not equal and violated the equal protection clause in the 14th amendment. In May of 1954 the U.S. Supreme Court ... • 4. I Used To Tell You Analysis Poetry during the Roman empire played a prevalent role in society along with what was being discussed and studied around the cities under their rule. However, what is less known are the roles society and the people played, in what type of poetry, language, and tone were used. Latin poetry, through symbolism and humanity s ideology, represents the evolution of the Roman era and government. Latin literature leaves behind a lasting legacy of the culture of ancient Rome. Some of the earliest works are historical epics telling of the early military history of Rome, followed by comedies, histories and tragedies. The comedies were the earliest as the Roman empire was strong and they could have fun because there was nothing to worry about. The tragedies were written during the collapse of the Roman empire. Therefore, they see themselves when they too fall in love with their story of a lifetime. Mona Van Duyn uses simple imagery to set the scene and give the reader a sense of home. In the quote Setting the V.C.R. when we go to bed to record a night owl movie (ls.1,2), Duyn takes this subtle imagery to make the reader comforted. People bring back this sense of home from the back of their mind. They understand the feel of a movie night, and because that feeling is so common, she doesn t need to use detailed imagery to lure the readers into the poem. Duyn can create an opportunity for the reader to relate to the person in the poem. Tears will salt the left over salad I seize during ads, or laughter slow my hurry to pee (ls. 13,14). In this line the readers can let out their uncertainties about the character because they can relate to them. The humor Duyn uses is just one way of knocking down the walls that separate the reader from the narrator and making the reader become one with the poem. It allows the reader to reflect themselves onto the character, and the character becomes them. Duyn creates an atmosphere of dramatic desperation using shifting mood. In the beginning of the poem, she creates a calm setting where the reader feels safe. We watch next evening, and having slowly found the start of the film, meet the minors and leads, enter their time and place, their wills and needs (ls. 6 8). This line ... One aspect of our results was close to having a significant difference. There was no difference among the frequency of male antennal grooming between the three different B. dubia densities with pheromones, but the data was close to being statistically significant (p= 0.051), and we think that with more refined methods, and a better understanding of B. dubia social interactions that future data may be statistically significant. The editorial discusses the use by the American justice system of Due Process in extreme cases such as terrorism. Due Process is defined as, fair treatment through the normal judicial system, especially as a citizen s entitlement. Since the turn of the twenty first century, there has been a worldwide increase in the amount of large scale terror attacks especially on our domestic soil. Napolitano s editorial pulls upon many sources such as factual information, testimonials, and recent events. His argument can be summed up in a sentence: Without due process for those we hate and fear, even those whose guilt is obvious, we will all lose our freedoms. In the editorial Napolitano hits on three major points: the constitutional bindings of our country, the recent track record of our country with terrorism, and his own experience as a New Jersey Superior Court judge for eight years. To begin Napolitano s reputation is the reason he is so qualified to speak on this issue. Napolitano is a former judge of the Superior Court of New Jersey and the senior judicial analyst at Fox News. Napolitano has written nine books on the U.S. Constitution. But the novel was also partly based on a play Deacon Brodia (1880) which is about a publicly respectable gentleman but privately a thief and rakehell. The novel had been considered by some people, mainly the higher ranked and important persons of the 19th centaury, as a criticism of Victorian double morality meaning they felt it was presenting a false image of what went on in London. They may have also have felt that it was encouraging other people to do things considered wrong like. This shows duality between the novel and the behaviour in London during the 19th centaury. The novel also creates a lot of tension as you progress through the text. It rises every time something is discovered in the mystery of Hyde which strengthens it s the detective/mystery genre. At the beginning all is calm but as Hyde comes to life, the tension rises. A really damnable man this shows us how much Hyde is hated, but this also shows us where the tension begins to rise. • 21. `` Our Story `` By Susan Griffin In many places throughout the world there are rigid top down cultures and theories on education. These cultures have been seen in World War II Germany, in literature, and in education. It has been shown throughout history that these cultures can and will cause many problems to fester as a result. These issues include the manufacturing of sheep like masses that simply follow what they are told and taught, the culture losing its ability to distinguish between what is morally right and wrong, and the forced masking of emotions and true feelings. The only way to prevent a culture from simply manufacturing sheep like masses is by encouraging people to not be afraid to stand out in a crowd and allowing, and even embracing, free thinking. In Our Story by Susan Griffin there is a complex story involving Heinrich Himmler that she uses to explain exactly how rigid top down societies and an expectation to be normal can cause a culture to lose its ability to think critically on a subject. Her first example describes how Himmler grew up in German in the early 20th century, and how it affected his life and the course of history. In that time the culture of Germany was of strong patriarchal values and held an expectation of men to be a strong and masculine image. The problem with this expectation and Himmler is that Himmler did not fit this image. As a child he was labeled frail and vulnerable, which was not acceptable in German culture at this time. Because of this he always felt ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

From reduction in demand to the new air security procedures, the industry has never been the same. An immediate effect of the terrorist attack was seen when the airlines shut down completely for several days due to the event. Even after the airlines reopened a majority of the nation felt uneasy about using airlines as their mode of transportation in fear that the event could happen again. USA Today said that airlines experienced at least a 30 percent reduction in demand during the initial shock period . The industry was faced with a dramatic reduction in demand and passengers canceling their flights, and was now faced with the issue of having to increase spending on security. One way that sea horses have been able to adapt is their hard scales. Their scales keep them protected from hard hits and of course almost getting a big bite taken out of them. It surprised me, it takes somebody 4 hours to read The Alchemist, because of how many symbols it has. Symbols range from glassware, personal legends, and being lost in life. Coleho perfected his symbols in this story. In the first half of the novel, it starts off with the boy talking about why he wanted to be a shepard. It was because he could travel and see the world. One symbol I noticed is, at the start he didn t care how long he took to do activity s. As he kind of stumbled upon the path of life all he did was travel and care for his sheep. For example the Kainai, which means many leaders , did not choose to be referred to as the Blood Nation (Bastien 2004, 10). There are many explanations as to how the Kanai became widely referred to as the Blood Peoples. One explanation is that it comes from a Cree term used to describe the Kanai by the red paint, which looks like blood, that is used in ceremony to paint their face and hands red. A second explanation is there was a mistranslation of a term used to describe the Kanai as wearers of white weasel pelts, to wearers of blood (Bastien 2004, 10). This mistranslation comes from the similarities of the words for blood and the term used to describe the changing of the white weasel pelts to white with the seasons (Bastien 2004, 10). In this case, the Kanai, through the use of their language are asserting their preference to be known as the many chiefs, over the Blood Peoples or the wearers of blood. Finally it was Aristotle who completely dispelled the notion that dreams were attempts at divine communication. His practical approach to dream research paved the way for future scholars such as Freud and Jung. Aristotle stated that dreams were most often fragments of the days events, and could sometimes provide insight into one s personal problems. We were going to take him back inside so we were about to leave but, he couldn t climb over the fence and it was buried in the snow so we couldn t move it. My friend Caleb, and his sister heard and we tried to move the fence together. Eventually they gave up, and went back home because their mom was calling them. Which made me kind of angry, but I realized that ninety five percent of friends don t have that bond that family does. We stayed with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 41. Politics And History Through An Alternative Path For Self... Akhil Subramanian Salc 20200 29 May 2008 361411 Politics and history through an alternative path to self rule Lagaan (2001), through the setting of Hindi cinema and the popular appeal of cricket, charts an alternative history of India, from the colonised past of 1893 to an ideal post colonial future. Using elements of pop culture, the director Ashutosh Gowarikar transforms the singularity of Champaneer s struggle against triple lagaan, into a microcosm of an Indian nation s ideal path toward self rule. Notably, this self rule is ideologically centred ex ante on Gandhi s vision of self sufficient village units, as mentioned in Hind Swaraj . In doing so, Gowarikar is able to (a) tell the historical tale of colonial rule and oppression in India, and (b) through dealing with Champaneer s internal struggles toward becoming a self sufficient village unit, highlight current thorny issues of Indian politics. Gowarikar uses the popularity of cricket in India as a catalyst for a nationalistic struggle. Although the wager is based on the amelioration of economic conditions for Champaneer (namely triple lagaan versus no lagaan), the bet transforms into a struggle for independence and self rule through the medium of cricket. To the audience, cricket gives this marginalised, hitherto unknown village a (notably non violent) medium with which they can resist colonial oppression. While the villagers fight for the right to pay no tax for three years, the audience is invited to interpret ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 43. The Disagreements Over the Health Effects of Probiotics Essay Since the year 1965, the term probiotics has been used. Lilly and Stillwell were the first to describe probiotics as substances secreted by one organism, which stimulated growth of other organisms (Gupta, 2009). It was however, Elie Metchnikoff in the 1900s who first suggested that there were health properties in lactic acid bacteria from fermented food products (Anukam, 2007). Since then, the meaning has undergone some changes, one of the most recent definitions is that probiotics are beneficial live microorganisms, which must be consumed in a sufficient amount for the desired health effect (Guarner, 1998). The Food and Agriculture Organisation/World Health Organisation has adopted this definition but there are many other organisations ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Therefore the bacterium ability to tolerate different pH levels is a crucial factor in determining their probiotic use. Ability to attach to the gut epithelial cells and adequate production of antimicrobial substances are also other important properties of probiotics (Granato, 2010). In terms of commercial use and manufacturing, probiotics must be resilient and maintain cell viability during periods of processing, packaging and storage (Saarela, 2009). The number food companies that are now using strains of Lactic acid bacteria and Bifidobacteria in their food products has increased considerably and it is now diary probiotic products that are making between 60% 70% of the functional food market (Mohammadi, 2012). The popularity of these products has increased due to the number of documented benefits of consuming probiotic bacteria and support from media and marketing. The documented health and nutritional benefits from consumption of probiotic food products show alleviating gastrointestinal problems and many other health benefits (Granato, 2010). Various randomised controlled trials have shown that in children with acute diarrhoea, probiotics has reduced the duration of diarrhoea by reducing stool frequency. It has shown to be a safe intervention however the size of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Effects Of The On Fetal Alcohol Syndrome During 1720 1750, there was a limited amount of control on the production and selling of gin in England due to Parliament. This resulted in an increase in alcohol intake. During this period, fetal and infant death rates were at it highest [1]. The medical society did not believe consumption of alcohol was the cause of the high rise in birth defects at the time. With the repeal of the prohibition on alcohol in 1933, doctors believed it had beneficial effects to the point of intravenous treatments with alcohol were used to delay preterm labor. In the 1950s to 1960s, there was another rise in fetal birth defects called the thalidomide scare . Thalidomide was used to relieve morning sickness experienced during pregnancy. This scare caused scientists to realize that certain types of drugs given during pregnancy, affected the development of the fetus. It wasn t until 1973, when two pediatricians, David Smith and Kenneth Jones, whom specialized in dysmorphology, the study of abnormalities present at birth, published their article on Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. In their study, they examined eight children to determine what caused their developmental impediments. These children were characterized with growth deficiencies, microcephaly, and impaired cognitive development. All their mothers were alcoholics, which resulted in Smith and Jones to believe alcohol was causing defects in the offspring [2]. Many discoveries have been made since 1973 that involve fetal exposure to alcohol, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
