Williams Shakespeare and The Globe Theater Essay
Imagine watching the famous plays of William Shakespeare being performed right in front of yours
eyes at the amazing Globe Theater. William Shakespeare was part owner of The Globe Theater. The
famous Globe Theater was a place where outstanding plays were performed. This theater held people
from all over the world to watch performances. In the article The Elizabeth Era states that often the
Queen would come to the Globe Theater to watch Shakespeare s work (Alchin). The Globe Theater
has great significance to British history because of the building structure, the actors, the performances,
the fire accident, and its impact on England and its people. To begin, The Globe Theater had a very

The actors were expected to perform their own stunts. They had to have a good memory to learn and
memorize their lines in a short time period. William Shakespeare acted in some of the productions of
the plays. Males had to act out the female parts of the plays because females were not allowed to
perform in theaters at this time. Although, all of the actors worked hard, the males who dressed up as
females got paid the least; this proves they had a lot of dedication to their work. The actors help make
the plays at the theater a huge success and very profitable to The Theater. Next, the performance at

companies scared of losing their audience so they had to do something similar to The Globe Theater. It

Rosin Esters Lab Report
ESTERIFICATION OF ROSIN TO MAKE ESTER GUM
Esterification : It is a reaction between alcohols and carboxylic acids to produce esters.
The carboxylic acid group of a rosin acid can be converted to an ester through a reaction with various
alcohols. The alcohols typically used to make rosin esters are given below. The molecular weight and
functionality of the alcohol determines the softening point of the subsequent ester. Glycerol with three
reactive sites is the most commonly used alcohols. Methanol with a single hydroxyl group and tri
ethylene glycol with two reactive sites are used to produce liquid and low softening point esters.

Lacquer is a wood polish; it is the chemical added to wood to give it the smooth and shiny properties.
Without it, the wood of a piano would be a lot more difficult to work with, shrinking the lifespan of
the common piano by years if not decades. Without lacquer, the piano and other hammered string
instruments may have never become the influential instruments they are today. WHAT IS LACQUER
EXACTLY? Lacquer is a polymer of many different bases that when coated on a wooden substance,
offers a layer of protection and gloss to a piece of wood. The most common lacquer used on piano
frames is a urushiol based lacquer. Urushiol is a common allergen found in many Anacardiaceae plants
such as poison ivy. It has a boiling point of
200˚ C (392˚ F) and can dissolve in substances such as alcohol. It is composed of a 6 carbon ring with
3 double bonds similar to benzene, 2 hydroxyl groups, and an R group. The R group varies from a
large amount of hydrocarbons (such as (CH2)14CH3, (CH2)7CH=CH(CH2)5CH3,
(CH2)7CH=CHCH2CH=CH(CH2)2CH3 and others).

Music Is An Identifying Characteristic Of Film And Television
Music is an identifying characteristic of film and television; everyone who has been exposed to
popular culture knows the theme for Star Wars and The Simpsons, even if they have never seen the
movie or show. Disney movies are no exception, and this is largely due to the genius creative mind of
Alan Menken. Menken is best known for composing the scores for some of the most beloved Disney
classics, including Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Hercules, Pocahontas, and
Tangled. He also made his mark composing for highly acclaimed Broadway musicals, including Little
Shop of Horrors and Newsies, as well as the stage adaptations of some of his Disney hits. The familiar
songs composed by Menken are permanently ingrained in our minds and are largely responsible for
the success of the films and theatrical works he was associated with. Alan Menken was born on July
22nd, 1949 in New York City. He grew up in New Rochelle, New York with his sisters, Faye and
Leah. Menken s family was heavily involved in the performing arts, setting the stage for his career at a
young age. His mother, Judy Menken, was an aspiring actress and playwright; his father, Norman
Menken was a dentist but played boogie woogie and show tunes on the piano as a hobby. Alan
Menken aspired to be a composer from a young age, but the men in his family typically became
dentists and he felt that he was expected to continue this tradition. However, he did learn to play the

telephone was invented by Alexander Graham Bell in March of 1876. The telephone changed the
world by making communication easier for people in different parts of the world. Imagine not being
able to talk to a friend in another state or country. If telephones aren t there, talking to someone on the

which are called cellphones .Nowadays, telephones and cellphones look more modern and smaller.
Cell phones can now do more than just call people unlike in the 1970 s when it was first made. Now
cellphones have games, music, notes, text messaging, etc. Alexander Graham Bell was born on March
3, 1847 in Edinburgh, Scotland. His father taught elocution and his mother was deaf. In 1870, Bell and
his family moved to Canada. Alexander graham bell was an eminent inventor who is credited with
inventing the first practical telephone. The telephone was invented because he wanted to find away

The Use of Characterization and Symbolism in Fitzgerald s...
F. Scott Fitzgerald s novel The Great Gatsby focuses on the corruption of the American dream during
the 1920 s. For the duration of this time period, the American dream was no longer about hard work
and reaching a set goal, it had become materialistic and immoral. Many people that had honest and
incorruptible dreams, such as Jay Gatsby, used corrupted pathways to realize their fantasy. People s
carelessness was shown through their actions and speech towards others. Fitzgerald uses
characterization and symbolism from different characters and items to convey the corruption of the
American dream. Fitzgerald expresses the corruption of the American dream through the use of

Fitzgerald expresses Tom Buchanan as another immoral character. Tom is portrayed as an egotistical,

European American markets, but later on shifted focus on Indian markets to tap the domestic

They spread awareness to the public about alleged impurity in Gold .
Tanishq introduced innovations like Karatmeter, the only nondestructive means to check the purity of
gold and machine made jewellery. In India, Tanishq has country wide presence. In November 2012, ...

Industry watchers were extremely skeptical of Tanishq and doubts were being cast over its prospects.
Tanishq began by offering jewellery in the 18 carat gold range, with designs borrowed heavily from
contemporary European brands. The company justified its decision saying that it wanted to be
different from the traditional Indian offerings.
Tanishq was the largest overseas chain in US with 1,200 outlets. In the year 2000, exports contributed
10% to the company s turnover. The story of Tanishq, once written off as a losing proposition, making
a remarkable turnaround was an example of a company single mindedly working to make its own
mark in the tradition bound Indian jewellery market. Behind this success was, of course, a well
planned and wellexecuted marketing plan.

Examples Of Personal Philosophy Essay
Personal Philosophy Life that has been lost cannot be brought back. That very truth is what shows us
the meaning and value of living Value is both immeasurable and measurable at the same time meaning
it is something you can t put a number on but feel within your mind. Value is only measured truly once
the object or person is lost. Once something is gone you finally realise how much that object or person
meant to you, which is when the eyes of the community can see the worth of the person in their life.
Value is one of the aspects of life that is seemingly uncontrollable, an emotion only controlled by the
eyes of the community. Value is an important part of life because it gives us a purpose to live, it
reminds us that there s an end to life and that we are all mortal, it is a constant thought that never

The Public Sphere Within Theatre
The Public Sphere within theatre was a concept that was first delineated by philosopher Jurgen
Habermas in his book titled The structural transformation of the public sphere, in which he refers to
the right that all citizens hold, the right to participate and engage into discussions on public matters of
interest and public issues. Habermas writes: the audience does not constitute a space for spectators and
listeners but a space for speakers and addresses who engage in debate. (Habermas in Balme 2012).
The Public sphere has now become a space, a stage, for performers, speakers and protesters to have a
voice rather than for the preliminary use of entertainment for the audience, spectators and listeners.
On reading Christopher B. Balme s The theatrical public sphere, the concept of theatre s role in the
Public Sphere is explored. Balme traces the origins ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Academic and artistic interest in something is usually a sure sign that matters are unclear, conceptual
boundaries are blurred and that old certainties are anything but that. There is also little doubt that the
major challenges we face: the media revolution, globalization and migration, climate change, the
erosion of public finances and services (to name just a few) have all in some way a bearing on the
public sphere, the realm where issues are debated and where citizens are free to enter and engage in
discourse. As the public sphere is primarily a discursive arena located outside and between state
bureaucracies on the one hand and economics and business on the other, it occupies a crucial role in
the functioning of so called free societies. The question to be explored here is what role theatre and
performance in practice play in this realm and how performance and theatre theory can contribute to
the debates. (Balme

the drug would pass out and were thought to be transported to another world. They were expected to

Although we know him now as one of the key founders of the mission system, Fr. Serra actually had
spent twenty year prior to this as a missionary in Mexico. Due in large part to his strength of character
and incredibly charismatic personality, Fr. Serra was chosen for the mission project because of success
in gaining conversions in Mexico. As we have learned, the mission system turned out to be a failure
and a source of many abuses against the native people. Because of this, it is a subject of much
controversy as to whether or not Fr. Serra will be canonized a saint. It would seem that Fr. Serra had
good intentions, but it s difficult to understand how a man of such integrity could overlook the harm
being done to the native population.
Long Essay 1. Native Cultures Believe it or not, before the era of European contact, the Native
Americans in California did more than gather acorns and wonder barefoot through the woods. Too
often the picture we paint of Native Americans is grossly over simplified and completely overlooks or
deemphasizes their sophistication as a society. Before the Era of European contact, the population of
native Californians numbered over three hundred thousand. Reflecting the richness and diversity of
California s geography, the native peoples of California were of a rich and diverse culture, speaking

One could say that it is the house where photosynthesize occur. The chlorophyll never changes from
its original form nor is combined when photosynthesis occurs.
Plants absorb energy from the sunlight whether on land or in the water. The energy is transferred to
humans and some animals that eat plants. Some animals are not able to eat plants so they eat other
animals who has energy stored up in them. Humans also receive a source of energy from animals that
we eat. What is quite amazing is that maggots receive energy from animals that have been dead for a
long period of time.
Photosynthesis has a two stage performance before plants produce the two products they are known to
produce. These stages are Photosystem I and II. Photosystem II is dependant on light reactions for
energy which causes the electrons to be react and be transferred to Photosystem II. The electrons are
transported through the Photosystem II electron transport system, however some energy is used to
drive ATP synthesis. Meanwhile, light is being absorbed by the Photosystem I, which causes the
electrons to react. This process sends the electrons to the Photosystem I transport system where some
energy is released as electrons travel through the electron transport system and is captured as NADPH.
When this process is completed oxygen is released from the plant and glucose has been

From The Late Eighteenth To The Mid Twentieth Century,
From the late eighteenth to the mid twentieth century, European countries predominantly England and
France oversaw the expansion and collapse of their empires, during which time they had come to
understand their Eastern colonies through the lens of Orientalism. A term coined by the literary critic
Edward Said in 1978, Orientalism refers to the project through which Western artists and intellectuals
fabricated an image of the Orient an area stretching between India and the Bible Lands in order to
legitimise their control over it. This project characterised the East as an inferior, post civilised realm,

Having grown out of the post war Dada movement, Surrealism emerged in the early 1920s, formed by
a group of artists who aimed to challenge the bourgeois values that they saw as being responsible for
World War I. As Archer Straw writes, It is through this departure from redundant aspects of Western
culture that these avant garde figures became enamoured with Africa; however, it is apparent that this
obsession raised many problems.
One example of Man Ray s work that reveals an interest in negrophilia is his Portrait of Nancy
Cunard, created in 1926 (Figure 1). In this photograph, Cunard a socialite and ardent negrophile is
captured wearing thick ivory bangles , a leopard print dress, and dark kohl eye makeup, details which
reveal a predilection for African forms. By adopting this appearance, Cunard becomes a pseudo exotic
personality, expressing both her and Man Ray s desire to separate themselves from Europe through
racial otherness . However, although they attempt to achieve this they appear unsuccessful in doing so,
as this portrait merely suggests racial difference, a quality that figures like Cunard could exploit to
further their reputation in the West. Moreover, while the avant garde praised such images for
supposedly championing equality between black and white people, Archer Straw correctly identifies
them as regressive, as they perpetuate the myth that black culture can be understood

Summary Of The Song Pretty Hurts
Music is a really powerful thing that should not be taken lightly nor underestimated. Every song has
the ability to explore themes and issues in society through lyrics and music videos. In December of
2013, successful singer songwriter Beyoncé Knowles came out with a lyrically challenging song,
Pretty Hurts which exposes the reality of the pageant world and in turn, the real world. The
combination of techniques and conventions used in both the lyrics and the music video such as camera
angles and symbolism are successfully used to create an effective song which reveals the harsh reality
of society, the high standards placed upon women to be beautiful and pretty and the lengths young
women go to just to fit in and the consequences of this. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

pretty hurts is emphasised even more as Beyoncé begins realising what the toxic world of beauty is
doing to her and decides to wreck her shelf of trophies which she is seen standing in front of earlier on
in the music video. The symbolism of knocking down the trophies portrays that she is knocking down
beauty standards and falling into a victim of that, underlying all of these messages we can see that the

An analysis of how dikh (‘justice’) and its associated...
An analysis of how dikh ( justice ) and its associated values are presented and translated in two
passages from Sophocles: Electra.
What broader issues are raised and how would these be investigated further? The concept of dikh, or
justice has many subtle meanings and variations in Ancient Greek ranging from the primary definition
given in LS (Liddell and Scotts, Greek English Lexicon , Intermediate,
1889, page 202) of custom to right, judgement, lawsuit, penalty and vengeance. The OCD
(Hornblower S, Oxford Classical Dictionary, 1996,
Page 469) reference to Likh describes it as the, personification of justice and the daughter of Zeus that,
reports men s wrongdoing to
Zeus .

This is strange, especially as the remaining children conspire and eventually murder those responsible
for their father s death. They presumably feel otherwise. In just this one passage justice is used to
mean custom, just, revenge and vengeance.
The second extract follows immediately after the news of Orestes death
(Ibid., pg 91) when Clytaemnestra, after a brief moment of sorrow is joyous at the news that her life is
now safe. In contrast we see that
Electra is devastated (Ibid., line 789) at the news. The idea of justice and revenge is brought to a
climax here as Clytaemnestra feels that, Justice is done to him . Would this be justice to Orestes for
not doing his duty or to Agamemnon for sacrificing his child? This compares well with the previous
passage where Clytaemnestra accuses
Electra of not doing her duty (Ibid., pg 84, line 526). Electra cries out to Likh, Goddess of Vengeance,
hear and speak for the dead .
It is clear from the many interpretations of dikh and its use in
Sophocles Electra that other, broader issues can be raised. The very concepts of justice, revenge,
honour and custom are exposed in detail. Understanding these issues and the language used requires
further study of the period, language, laws, customs and traditions.
The most important issue raised by this play is that of how do we (or more specifically the Greeks
watching the play) feel about matricide

death. In Edward Willet s The Man in Black he states, Ray told him bluntly that he should of died

To try and deal with his emotions, he started to write. He really started to write how he was feeling. In
spite of this, the tragedy, his fathers accusation, and his own guilt had one positive outcome: it s what
made his creativity in his songs (Neimark 36). His early life growing up through the Great Depression

The Problem Of School Violence
The somewhat recent event of Sandy Hook has been a major focus of debate among any serious
discussion about school violence in America. Yet, just since Columbine, there has been over 100
school shootings, not including stabbing, rape, or even fist fights (in which there was serious injury or
death). Despite this unprecedented level of aggression among our nation s youth, the nation, in its
entirety, has not dedicated an appropriate amount of time and energy to coming up with a solution.
The bulk of the hard work needed in order to create a safer atmosphere for our children has been left
to our teachers. Yet, the workload of a teacher, along with his/her inability to interfere in out of
classroom affairs, would make him/her extremely inefficient in doing so. What exactly are these
expectations? How many of these standards can a teacher feasibly meet?
My first, and maybe only, sentiment with teacher involvement would be due to the assumption that
every violent child could have been saved before they resorted to violence. Many would say that the
student was merely distraught or abused and should suffer no blame for such atrocities. I find this
utterly ridiculous. When adults commit similar crimes, especially the murder of dozens of people, how
quickly does the public deem them psychopaths? Psychopathy is a very real and very serious
impairment. This mental deficit can have countless causes which may include the absence of oxytocin
on stimulus or an unluckily placed tumor.

Why Is Chivalry So Alive
The Code of chivalry is still alive because many men put their country first and themselves second.
For instance, for men fighting for the country who are in the military. It takes a lot of courage to go
[into battle] knowing that you may not return home. They have families, friends, and even pets that
they are leaving behind to fight for their country. That takes a lot of guts because I can not leave my
love ones behind and go off to the war by myself. They only have one life to live and they risking it all
for their country they are fighting for. That is the code of chivalry to leave all your love one behinds
because the country is depending on you. Also ,why Chivalry could still be alive because a man have

According to another example,George Zimmerman completely broke the code of chivalry. He killed a
young teen name Trayvon Martin who had his whole life ahead of him and killed him just because he
thought it was self defense. But we all know the truth the real reason why he killed him because he had
a hoodie and most of all he was black. You do not murder someone just on how they look. You should
not even murder anyone at all.Trayvon Martin life was cut back short and did not get to experience
prom, graduation, college, marriage, he s career just because some ignorant person thought he was a
going to hurt or attack but actually it was just a teen going home. Another example that the code of
chivalry is still dead because men have sexually assaulted women that women led to suicidal
thoughts. For instance, Bill cosby allegedly sexually assaulted more than 50 women who were scared
to come out this year. It is really traumatizing for a women to experience sexual assault because
someone took control of their body because they didn t had the ability to fight back because they were
drug or forced. That can lead to suicidal thoughts because they can never forget that memory of
someone taking advantage of them. Suicidal thoughts can lead to depression because they feel that
person has power over them and they can not say anything about it because people won t believe

The Current State Of Antibiotic Resistant Bacteria Essay
The Current State of Antibiotic Resistant Bacteria
Introduction
The rapid emergence of antimicrobial resistant bacteria is a startling problem facing the medical
community and this problem is only expected to worsen in the coming years1,4. When Sir Alexander
Fleming discovered the first antibiotic, penicillin, in 1928, many proclaimed his finding as the most
important modern medical discovery2,4. Simple infections such as pneumonia could be treated rather
easily despite the fact that such diagnoses could prove to be commonly fatal in the early 20th
century4. Penicillin was also successfully used as a prophylactic treatment to curtail bacterial
infections from overcoming the Allied forces during the second World War2,4. However, it was only
less than a decade later that the first penicillin resistant bacteria were detected and the once all
powerful antibiotic faced a startling Darwinian reminder: ... the history of evolution is that life escapes
all barriers... Life breaks free... Life expands to new territories... Painfully, perhaps even dangerously...
But life finds a way 3. It is due to life s incredible ability to evolve and adapt that we find ourselves in
a state of nervousness and apprehension about the post antibiotic apocalypse that is approaching ever
so rapidly. In its most recent report, the World Economic Forum Global Risk committee listed
antibiotic resistance as one of the greatest threats to human health5. In the United States alone, is is

Essay on The Origination Of Punk Rock
The Origination of Punk Rock
The time was in the mid seventies, there was a void in the music industry that needed to be filled. This
need for a new sound was aptly filled by punk rock, a new type of sound that had evolved from mostly
rock and a little pop music. The focus of this paper is on punk rock and it s ample beginnings, early
pioneers of the new sound, punk rock listener s cultural background and their ideas as a whole, bands
influenced by the punk rock movement, and the state of punk rock today.
The year is 1974, this year marks the birth of punk rock (1974). There is controversy as to where punk

Another one of punk rock s pioneers was the animated Iggy Pop. Iggy began his musical career, or let
me say, his career took off after leaving the Paul Butterfield Blues Band. Iggy formed a band with
friends who really had no idea how to play their instruments. This way their lack of musical
knowledge would allow Iggy to incorporate his zany and unorthodox style into their playing style
(History). Iggy was a maniac on stage, cutting himself, screaming at fans, and displaying obscenities
unheard of in that time. Although Iggy never achieved much commercial success back then, Iggy just
released a song Corruption which is on the charts.
The punk subculture is often seen as a rebellious group of misguided youngsters who often come from
lower class dwellings and haven t gotten the attention that they needed so they dye their hair, dress
differently, and act differently. In Facing The Music edited by Simon Frith, Mary Harron reduced the
meaning of punk to the spectacle of middle class children dressing up in a fantasy of proletarian
aggression and lying desperately about their backgrounds (History). The flipside to that is that maybe
these youths are expressing their individualism and choose to stray away from

Effects Of Foreign Direct Investment On Agricultural...
ABSTRACT
This research investigates and empirically examines the effects of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) on
agricultural output and economic growth in Kenya. The methodology involves estimating an
economic growth model using panel data of the period from 1990 to 2013. By applying the OLS
method, the results indicate that FDIhas a negative effect on the economy overall, while combining
with other factors such as labour, GCF and exports. However, on its own, FDI s prove to have a
positive but insignificant effect on GDP.
CHAPTER ONE
Introduction Statement
Claims that the Foreign Direct Investment in Agriculture in Kenya have brought about many benefits
as opposed to the vices are wrong. In his book, Multinational Corporations in Political Economy of
Kenya, Langdon investigates multinational Corporations performances in Kenya in the mid 1970 s
and concluded that their impact was overwhelmingly negative to the economy of Kenya. He argued
that the MNC s in Kenya after independence to date became powerful instruments for profit making, a
great deal of which profit was repatriated. They produced fewer spread effects in form of employment
or linkage than local entrepreneurs would spur.
1.0 Introduction
Agriculture is the beating hub of the Kenyan economy. The agriculture sector is the single largest
sector of the economy accounting for about one quarter of GDP. About 18 per cent of growth in GDP
in 2012 was from the sector, up from 7.5 per cent recorded in 2011. The sector

foreign policy in regards to China. China has an interest in observing the TPP negotiations because not
only are they struggling to keep the value of the yuan low in order to continue to attract FDI, but the
continued liberalization of its neighbors borders is making other players in the region increasingly
competitive in regards to attracting foreign business. A growing number of countries in the area
joining the trade agreement, dropping trade barriers and providing cheap labor without the bad
reputation for product quality fade and infringement of IP rights will provide plenty of alternatives for
foreign businesses looking to invest in the region. It is true that China is attempting to move its

the threat of a massive outflow of foreign business, and the capital it provides, cannot be overlooked.
Thus, if China joins the TPP so as not to be left behind, then it will have agreed to adopt the foreign

help to ease the concerns many have about China s continued infringements of property rights and
general theft of R D and intellectual property. Although being bound to an international agreement and
actually enforcing (let alone practicing) the aspects of the contract are quite different matters, the

A Leader s Courage, Knowledge, And Wisdom
Introduction
A Leader s Courage, Knowledge, and Wisdom
The book Resilient Leader discusses many avenues of direction to promptly lead and organize. The
three components learned will be discussed in this paper are courage, knowledge and wisdom, these
three components have a congruent purpose that will be explained in this paper. The next section
includes strategies that organizations can use to improve their processes, to build up their leaders
leadership skills, and increase their performance. The last sections contain a biblical integration of
courage, knowledge, and wisdom, followed by concluding remarks.
Courage
Hoff, (2015) states that some of the traits of a courageous leader are able to face adversity, holding
everyone to the same standards, encourages feedback, ask peers and employees for their input, and
have the ability to foster change in an organization. John Maxwell stated that a great leader s courage
to fulfill his vision comes from, passion, not position (Hoff, 2015, p. 33). According to the Blackboard
video, there are many types of courage found in leaders, such as mental, moral, emotional, physical,
and spiritual (Dees, 2014). When a leader is in the midst of a crisis and acts boldly, with courage, it
can define courage as the ability to take the proper action, to do the right thing, for the right reasons, in
the most efficient and effective way for all concerned.

The Psychodynamic Process Of A Steam Engine
INTRODUCTION
A steam engine is a heat engine that performs mechanical work using steam as its working fluid.
Steam engines are external combustion engines, where the working fluid is separated from the
combustion products. Non combustion heat sources such as solar power, nuclear power or geothermal
energy may be used. The ideal thermodynamic cycle used to analyze this process is called the Rankine
cycle. In the cycle, water is heated and transforms into steam within a boiler operating at a high
pressure. When expanded through pistons or turbines, mechanical work is done. The reduced pressure
steam is then exhausted to the atmosphere, or condensed and pumped back into the boiler.
In general usage, the term steam engine can refer to either the integrated steam plants (including
boilers etc.) such as railway steam locomotives and portable engines, or may refer to the piston or
turbine machinery alone, as in the beam engine and stationary steam engine. Specialized devices such
as steam hammers and steam pile drivers are dependent on the steam pressure supplied from a
separate boiler.
The use of boiling water to produce mechanical motion goes back over 2000 years, but early devices
were not highly practical. The Spanish inventor Jerónimo de Ayanz y Beaumont obtained a patent for
a rudimentary steam powered water pump in 1606. In 1698 Thomas Savery patented a steam pump
that used steam in direct contact with the water being pumped. Savery s steam pump used condensing
steam to

Milosevic came in to power in Yugoslavia because of his adept timing to use the 1987 protest by
promoting Serbian nationalism on national television. Milosevic adamantly stated in the interview that
none of his books and speeches discussed a strictly Serbian state. The concept of Greater Serbia was
conceived in 1884 Ilika Garasanin and was the credo for the secret Serb nationalist group the Black

Milosevic tried to create a Serbia that had complete control over the Yugoslavian area and discredited
any country that tried to exempt itself out of the reaches of Serbian control. Bosnia and Herzegovina

they were mutual partners against Carranza for some time but in reality their relationship was not a

PERTUSSIS Pertussis is described by the NVIC as
Pertussis, commonly referred to as whooping cough, is a highly contagious respiratory disease caused
by the Bordetella (B.) pertussis bacterium. B. pertussis bacteria attach themselves to the mucus
membranes of the respiratory tract and cause inflammation in the body.
The major symptom of B. pertussis whooping cough disease is uncontrollable coughing.
In advanced stages, thick mucous develops in the lungs and clogs air passages, triggering violent
episodes of coughing, choking and vomiting up of mucus followed by a high pitched intake of breath
that sounds like whoop. With whooping cough disease, it is possible to have such violent coughing
spells, especially at night, that large amounts of mucous are vomited up through the mouth and nose
and interfere with breathing.
The B. pertussis bacteria release several toxins, including pertussis toxin (PT) and endotoxin. In
severe cases of whooping cough disease, complications include high fever, brain inflammation,
convulsions, pneumonia and death.

Beowulf does not keep to these words, which state that he should not let himself be overtaken by the
need for glory, and therefore risk his life. Beowulf is not convinced, and is killed by the dragon. After
he dies, Wiglaf speaks again,
We could not persuade the king by our counsel, our well loved leader, to shun assualt on the dreadful
dragon guarding the gold; to let him lie where he long had lurked in his secret lair till the world shall
end. But Beowulf, dauntless pressed to his doom. (1815 1820)

Acoustic Spaces And Ambient Noise Levels
Introduction
A range of observations were conducted to assess acoustic spaces in terms of their characteristics and
ambient noise levels. Using a Digitech QM 1589 (see figure one) three studies were measured in order
to successfully account for characteristic behaviours and differentiate between ambient noise levels.
These studies where assessed under A and C weightings and in fast and slow settings. A weighting
follows the frequency sensitivity of the human ear at low
Figure One: Digitech QM 1589 (http://www.jaycar.com.au/) 2016 levels while C weighting is the
frequency sensitivity of the human ear at very high noise levels (Hear Forever, 2013). Measurement
One is the sound pressure level of 8 acoustic environments that where examined to establish the
quietest space possible, maintaining a reliable and consistent source of results. Measurement Two
follows the assessment of Clarendon Street, a busy road; involving the observations of cars, trucks and
trams that share the road. Measurement Three is the analysis between A and C weighted testing of
pink noise from a single speaker repeated at 1 and 4 metres validating the application of the Inverse
Square Law.
measurement one
In this measurement and observation 8 possibly quiet acoustic spaces where assessed to find the
quietest space possible; among assessed are JMC Academy s facilities including the library, classroom
1, the sound studio and the vending machine area. Following the examination of these spaces

Chesapeak Bay and Jamestown
It is evident that every culture is affected by the environment in which said culture evolves. Whether
these effects can be observed in the gods differing societies worship, or by the way in which resources
are accumulated, the reasons are all the same. How each society and culture interacts with its
environment dictates its development and growth. There is no more evident an example of this than
the Chesapeake Bay area, pre, mid, and post colonization, using the colony of Jamestown as an model
for contact interactions between two distinct cultures, and how these relations can be dictated by the
environment. In the period termed pre contact the indigenous peoples living in the Chesapeake Bay
region were known collectively as the Powhatan people. This name was used for the collective of the
Algonquian speaking tribes in the Chesapeake Bay and, during the time of interest, was led by Chief
Powhatan, who took his tribe name as his ruling name. Chief Powhatan inherited the rule of six tribes
when he became chief, as well as having accumulated a multitude of tribes during his reign to create
the Powhatan confederacy. Within this confederacy, each distinct tribe was responsible for providing
military support when requested, as well as were required to provide taxes in the form of pelts, food,
copper and pearls. Notably, at no point was gold objectively mined by the Powhatan people. These
people left no written records and thus the information available in modern times about the

Essay about D2 counselling
Counsellors do not offer advice as such but instead give an insight into a client s feelings and
behaviour and they help the client to change their behaviour accordingly. They do this by actively
listening to what the client has to say and comment from a professional perspective. Counsellors are
trained to be effective helpers, especially in sensitive and difficult situations. They have to be
independent, very neutral and professional as well as respecting the privacy and confidentiality of a
client. Counselling can help clients to clarify their problems, identify the changes they wish to make
and give them a fresh perspective. Counsellors should help them to seek other options and look at the
impact that life events have made on the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This pushes responsibility back on the other person and increases commitment to the solution.
Decision making techniques can provide invaluable help to someone that is confused by helping them
to paint their scenario options and then looking into the future and imagining them playing out. The
client can then predict how their will manage this type of situation, how they would feel and how
successful this option may be. The counsellor should also explain how unproductive it is to stay
tortured about things and not come to a decision. Counsellors should help the client to sort through
what they need to consider and make a date in order to meet a certain and effective decision.
Counsellors should also analyse decisions and make sure the client has the necessary commitment to
carry them out. Counsellors should make client s realise that not all decisions will feel great,
sometimes they are the best of two painful outcomes and may involve a loss. If a decision is delayed
or must be delayed for any reason, a new date must be made for finalising it. Force field analysis is a
very useful decision making technique. It helps individuals to make decisions by analysing the forces
for and against a change and it helps them to communicate with the reasoning behind the decision. It
can be used for two purposes: to decide whether to go ahead with a change and to increase your
chances of success by strengthening the forces supporting the change

Green Eyed Monster
The Green Eyed Monster So your best friend wears a size 0 and complains that it s too big on her!
Your next door neighbor is driving a Mercedes and your car can barely make it to the end of the
driveway. Your sister is headed for a week long vacation in the Caribbean and you can t get farther
than the state park. Jealous? Who wouldn t be? Sure, there are times when everyone else seems to
have more, do more, look better. But is that really the case? Jealousy is the root of many evils that can
affect the poorest of paupers to the richest of kings. It has lead men to lie, cheat, steal and exhibit other
harmful acts toward their fellow man. This one emotion has broken the spirits of men since the dawn
of time, and there is no ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Jealousy can arise over the good fortune of friends or associates. This also ties in to feelings of self
worth; person who doesn t have a strong self image may feel that he or she is not getting the fair share
and that others always get the breaks. All emotions, even jealousy, are trying to tell us something
about ourselves. It is important to understand and acknowledge that jealousy has a purpose. If we are
ashamed of feeling jealous, we have the natural instinct to try to mask it with protective emotion such
as anger, frustration, or resentment. Instead of masking our feelings, we should ask ourselves, Why am
I choosing to feel jealous? Not everything is equal or fair, but to be dishonest about your own feelings
is wrong. There will always be someone out there who is more beautiful, more talented, and more
successful. But so

One example of Man Ray s work that reveals an interest in negrophilia is his Portrait of Nancy Cunard, created in 1926 (Figure 1). In this photograph, Cunard a socialite and ardent negrophile is captured wearing thick ivory bangles , a leopard print dress, and dark kohl eye makeup, details which reveal a predilection for African forms. By adopting this appearance, Cunard becomes a pseudo exotic personality, expressing both her and Man Ray s desire to separate themselves from Europe through racial otherness . However, although they attempt to achieve this they appear unsuccessful in doing so, as this portrait merely suggests racial difference, a quality that figures like Cunard could exploit to further their reputation in the West. In contrast we see that Electra is devastated (Ibid., line 789) at the news. The idea of justice and revenge is brought to a climax here as Clytaemnestra feels that, Justice is done to him . Would this be justice to Orestes for not doing his duty or to Agamemnon for sacrificing his child? The Current State Of Antibiotic Resistant Bacteria Essay The Current State of Antibiotic Resistant Bacteria Introduction The rapid emergence of antimicrobial resistant bacteria is a startling problem facing the medical community and this problem is only expected to worsen in the coming years1,4. When Sir Alexander Fleming discovered the first antibiotic, penicillin, in 1928, many proclaimed his finding as the most important modern medical discovery2,4. ABSTRACT This research investigates and empirically examines the effects of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) on agricultural output and economic growth in Kenya. The methodology involves estimating an economic growth model using panel data of the period from 1990 to 2013. By applying the OLS method, the results indicate that FDIhas a negative effect on the economy overall, while combining with other factors such as labour, GCF and exports. • 34. The Psychodynamic Process Of A Steam Engine INTRODUCTION A steam engine is a heat engine that performs mechanical work using steam as its working fluid. Steam engines are external combustion engines, where the working fluid is separated from the combustion products. Non combustion heat sources such as solar power, nuclear power or geothermal energy may be used. The ideal thermodynamic cycle used to analyze this process is called the Rankine cycle. In the cycle, water is heated and transforms into steam within a boiler operating at a high pressure. When expanded through pistons or turbines, mechanical work is done. The reduced pressure steam is then exhausted to the atmosphere, or condensed and pumped back into the boiler. In general usage, the term steam engine can refer to either the integrated steam plants (including boilers etc.) such as railway steam locomotives and portable engines, or may refer to the piston or turbine machinery alone, as in the beam engine and stationary steam engine. Specialized devices such as steam hammers and steam pile drivers are dependent on the steam pressure supplied from a separate boiler. The use of boiling water to produce mechanical motion goes back over 2000 years, but early devices were not highly practical. The Spanish inventor Jerónimo de Ayanz y Beaumont obtained a patent for a rudimentary steam powered water pump in 1606. In 1698 Thomas Savery patented a steam pump that used steam in direct contact with the water being pumped. Savery s steam pump used condensing steam to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Whether these effects can be observed in the gods differing societies worship, or by the way in which resources are accumulated, the reasons are all the same. There is no more evident an example of this than the Chesapeake Bay area, pre, mid, and post colonization, using the colony of Jamestown as an model for contact interactions between two distinct cultures, and how these relations can be dictated by the environment.
