Trunk Flexion
We found that the muscle strength of trunk flexion showed significant differences within group and
between groups. The results of the trunk back extension showed significant differences within
group. Our result of increased trunk strength was similar to previous study results. Within group
difference of muscleactivation was higher in the BLSE group than in the HLSE group. This
implies that the EO and RA were activated as the agonist of trunk flexion, and that muscle
hypertrophy can increase strength of trunk flexion when activated by the EO and RA. One
study showed EO activated approximately 32% of MVIC by bracing and 12% of MVIC by
hollowing (Grenier McGill, 2007). The % EMG max values in RA was 18% in the bracing
strategy, while the RA value was approximately 6% in the hollowing strategy(Maeo et al., 2013).
Thus, we suggest that trunk flexion strength would be increased by muscle hypertrophy if the
bracing strategy is applied in side plank exercise and prone plank exercises, which activate EO and
RA, for 12 weeks.
In trunk back extension, the % EMG max value of ES was 20% in bracing group and 10% in
hollowing group, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
HLSE and BLSE can be recommended as applicable and generalized exercises for the
improvement of trunk strength and low back disability of elderly women with NSLBP. Especially,
HLSE, which leads to preferential contraction of TrA and was more effective in improving low
back disability. BLSE was more efficient in strengthening the trunk muscle through muscle
hypertrophy of co contraction of antero lateral trunk muscles for 12 weeks. However, further, large
scale clinical studies are necessary to identify the therapeutic effectiveness of hollowing and bracing
strategies; male participants and broad age groups must be studied to increase power and to detect

Reasons For Russia s Involvement In World War I
Russia s Involvement in World War I
In the year of 1914 the Russian government is starting to see Germany as the main threat to its
nation. The reason behind this was because of Germany s decision to form an alliance with
Austria Hungary and Italy; this became to be known as the Triple Alliance. This new Alliance
meant that if any of the allied countries were to be invaded by Russia or France they would
support each other in battle when in need. However the initial spark of Russia s involvement in
World War Ibegan with honoring its treaty with Serbia. On June 28th 1914 Franz Ferdinand the
heir to the Austro Hungarian throne visited the capital city of Bosnia known as Sarajevo, he
traveled to Sarajevo in order to inspect the armed forces of ... Show more content on

Essay On Employee Assistance Programs
Working with Employee Assistance Programs I was glad to read about the different settings
available for the clinical mental health counselor to work within. It is always good to know
several options exists, and if you do not like where you currently are working, you could always
switch settings. Before reading the text, I was thinking of working in private practice, but I am
now unsure if I would be willing to take risks associated with the private practice area. The
responsibility of being solely liable for all financial matters, accounting, administrative work, and
inconsistent revenue streams is quite scary (Gladding Newsome, 2018, p. 385). Currently, the
setting that is most appealing for me to work in is the employee assistance... Show more content on

In the world where managed care organizations are pushing for counseling sessions to be short,
employee assistance programs seem like the right fit for short term services, with three to eight
sessions being the norm. As an EAP counselor, it is essential for me to be assured of my ability
to protect my clients confidentiality. I am aware of lines being blurred when counseling, for
instance, a boss and his/her employee. I should be able to assure both parties that the information
shared during our sessions will be held to the privacy standards required of counselor and client
relationships. Committing to professional behaviors such as maintaining a strictly professional
relationship, being an attentive listener, respecting cultural differences, and advocating for my
clients. I would also be trained in working with adults, as well as children and couples since EAP
services sometimes include the family members. An asset I would like to have is some wellness
and prevention training because a focus in EAP counseling is geared towards wellness. To become
an EAP counselor, I would need to participate in continuing education training, including substance
abuse and addictions counseling; knowledge about the business world is also a necessary asset. The
Employee Assistance Program Association (EAPA) offers training classes through its local chapters
(Gladding Newsome, 2018). Clinical mental health counselors are just one

The Debate On Abortion And Abortion
Abortion. This word leaves most people feeling uneasy after just saying it out loud. The discussion
of abortion is continuously left open ended with millions of opinions, arguments, and questions.
Abortions occur every single day leaving potential fathers devastated or thrilled, leaving friends and
families broken and distraught or in contrast, proud. More importantly, leaving the potential mother
uncertain and even destroyed. But with abortionin mind, what is considered wrong and what is
considered right? What is moral and what is immoral? Is all faith in humanity questioned at the sole
argument of either aborting or not aborting an unborn child? Moreover, who is granted the superior
authority on deciding what is morally correct or incorrect this day and age. As I said before,
bottomless questions and vast accusations tend to be the fuel for this fire. It is as if society is
waiting for the perfect, yet, moderate argument on abortion, tying up all of the loose ends and
meeting somewhere in between what is right and what is wrong when considering abortion rights.
Is there even a common ground of understanding when debating the existence of another human?
The endless and twisted argument continues to linger on, although Judith Jarvis Thomson s
Defense of Abortion communicated insightful views which in fact influenced my very own ideas
on the argument of abortion. As I was reading Thomson s, Defense on Abortion I found myself
unsure and often questioning the side she

The Characters Of The Outsiders In The Outsiders
Everyone is an outsiders in some type of way, and it can be that you just don t fit in. That s Okay
because there are a lot of people that don t exactly fit in! The Outsiders was made in the 1960 s
by H.E Hinton and was placed in Tulsa Oklahoma. H.E Hinton is girl who was 17 when she
published her book, and she went under the name H.E. Hinton because she didn t want nobody
to judge her book by her gender she wanted them to judge the book by the book. Her real name is
Susan Eloise Hinton. What characters in the Outsiders are different than the rest and don t
exactly fit in? The outsiders refers to Johnny, Cherry, and Ponyboy. First, Johnny is an outsider
since he goes away from the ideal that society has for greasers. The evidence is that he doesn t
like fighting and feels that it s useless. I know this because in Document F it says, We won, Dally
panted, We beat the Socs. We stomped them chased them outta our territory. Johnny didn t even
try to grin at him. Useless...fighting s no good.... Which means that he thinks that fighting is no
good which is going against society ideals of greasers. Another piece of evidence is that he
doesn t do what regular greasers do. I know this because in Document D it says, I know, I said.
Well, I said, thinking this over, you ain t like any of the gang, I mean, I couldn t tell Two Bit or
Steve or even Darry about the sunrise and clouds and stuff. I couldn t even remember that poem

Terrorism and Political Violence by Alex Schmid
Terrorism can be defined and viewed in many different ways. As discussed in Terrorism and
Political Violence, by Alex Schmid, there are multiple frameworks in which terrorism can be
defined (Schmid 2010, 197). In Schmid s article, he discusses the five ways he feels terrorism can
be looked at, terrorism as/and politics, terrorismas/and crime, terrorism as/and warfare, terrorism as
/and communication and terrorism as/and religious fundamentalism (Schmid 2010, 197). This is
interesting because it explores the concept of terrorism in different lenses, where each has its own
motives, its own background and its own participants. This is important to understand because not
every act of terrorism is done in the same light and for the same purposes. Just as any other crime,
there are reasons behind the act. When studying terrorism, understanding motives makes all the
difference, and understanding what is at stake for the attacker or the attacked helps fully
conceptualize the matter. As defined by the Federal Bureau of Investigations, acts of terrorism can
fit into one of two ways, domestic terrorism and international terrorism (FBI.gov). Although, there
are two types, overall the FBI defines terrorism in general as a violent act intended to manipulate the
civilian body, the government, and/or to involve putting people in danger on a federal or state level
(FBI.gov). Meaning that someone (organization, government, institution, etc.) violently attacks
someone else (government,

Orson Welles Influences
When talking about how the Western culture has been influenced over the years, it is impossible
not to talk about Orson Welles, a man who has shaped the face of American cinema, radio, and
theatre. Orson Welles was born to two highly educated parents, Richard and Beatrice, who taught
him to play the violin, the piano, and traveled around the world with him. He was born in
Wisconsin, and although in his young years he was introduced to much of the world around him,
his childhood wasn t exactly happy. When he was four years old his parents separated, and by the
time he was nine his mother would be dead from jaundice. When we was thirteen his father died as
well, this time do to his alcoholic nature. Luckily Orson Welleswas taken in by a man named
Maurice Bernstein, who fostered his passion for theatre. Despite his challenging upbringing Orson
Welles still became one of the most, if not the most important face of our modern media. At only
nineteen years old Orson Welles was already at the forefront... Show more content on

He stuck around Hollywood for a time and married Rita Hayworth. He starred in an adaptation of

loss that can still be felt today.
He didn t come back to Hollywood in any real way until the end of his life. He and Hollywood

seems to me to a be a sort of understanding from Hollywood that Orson Welles was truly one of if

Law Enforcement Cameras Infringe On People s Right To Privacy
Surveillance cameras are widely used around the world by both law enforcement officers and
private entities. The main purpose of installing these devices is to identify any suspicious behavior
or criminal activities (Costa, Guedes, Vasques Portugal 1). For example, in American cities, the
police monitor and ticket those who run red lights or drive past the set speed limits using
surveillancecameras. State officials monitor these cameras from different locations in the country.
With technological advancements, these devices can reveal one s identity, car number plates, and
some even show any items hidden underneath clothing. Nations around the world continue to
intensify public surveillance in a bid to provide a safe environment for their citizens. However, not
all persons support the use of law enforcement cameras. Many argue that these cameras infringe on
people s right to privacy(Neyland 2). Although some of their arguments are sensible, this paper will

For instance, the police often use body worn cameras in their operations. This enables them to
record all happening wherever they go including in people s homes. This is a huge invasion of
the people s privacy especially in instances of non consensual entry (Siegel Worrall 311). The law
enforcement officials obtain recordings that are not related to the issue of concern. This could be
the owners possessions or any other activities that take place in the house. Opponents also show
concern over the technological advancements that have led to the creation of cameras that can see
through clothing. This violates a person s privacy for the obvious reason that privacy is the very
reason people wear clothes. It would, therefore, be useless to wear clothes if law enforcement
officers have the ability to see through them. The use of this technology propagates voyeurism and
other socially unacceptable

Klebsiella Pneumoniae Lab Report
Introduction Klebsiella pneumoniae is a gram negative bacilli bacterium 0.3 1.0um in diameter and
0.6 6.0 um in length. Cells are capsulated and arranged in pairs or in short chains. K. pneumoniae
can cause different types of healthcare associated infections that include pneumonia, blood, and
wound infections along with meningitis. K. pneumoniae is normally found in the intestines of
human stool. Infections are most common with people who require ventilators, intravenous
catheters or patients taking long courses of antibiotics. The primary portal of entry is through the
respiratory tract to cause pneumonia or through the blood to cause bacteremia. People with healthy

Application And Supporting Student Learning
Standard 1: Engaging and Supporting All Students in Learning:
Engaging and supporting student learning has developed into an area of strength for me. What I
have witnessed first hand is that by moving through the general education curriculum you can
embed skills predicated on each student s current level of instruction. You use the general education
curriculum as a backdrop and then adapt and modify the curriculum to suit each student s needs. It
sounds like it s not possible when you actually hear it in a credential program. It s not until you
actually start becoming familiar with each student and their needs that it becomes clearer as to
what to do. For example, we did a series of lessons about integers which is actually a sixth ... Show

I often rewarded students with tokens for going above and beyond in helping their classmates. I
want to inspire them to be not just good students, but even better people!
The impetus for this realization came about as the subject of SBAC and Cal. Alt. testing was
broached in a staff meeting in the winter. We were given booklets that contained questions that
were old or similar questions to those that had appeared before on the test. I used these booklets
as a planner for my winter/spring instruction guide. I went through the booklets with the class
doing the problems. As we approached each problem, if it was a subject we had not yet covered
or discussed, I would break it down and build a lesson around it. It was quite beneficial as we
were now working on things that they would ultimately see on their respective tests. They were
doing exactly what their general education peers were doing. The difference being that rather than
glancing over the material, I was using the material as a base and then adapting and modifying it
based on each student s needs.
This was really helpful as when each of the students took their respective tests, they had a fighting
chance. I administered the Cal. Alt. to some of my class, and while they didn t get all the answers
correct, they got quite a few right. There was nothing more rewarding than seeing questions arise on
a standardized test that you know your students have at least seen before and

How Did Thomas Paine Attack The Monarchy By Thomas Paine
In the primary document Thomas Paine Attacks The Monarchy it talks about how Thomas Paine
attacked the monarchy by Common Sense. I feel as if this document really adds to what the
textbook has to say about what Thomas Paine did to make him such an important person in history.
It is always nice to get the perspective from people who were actually there. Thomas Paines
pamphlet Common Sense is seen as one of the worlds most influential documentaries of all time.
One of the reasons Common Sense was so popular was because unlike many writers from his time
Paine used a lot of common sense arguments that average people could understand. Thomas Paine
wrote the pamphlet Common Sense in 1775 and it was published in January of 1776. The main
impact of this pamphlet is known as a way to help cause the American colonists to decide to fight
for independence. Common Sense challenged the authority of the British government and the royal
monarchy. So if Thomas Paine would have never wrote this the Americans may have never decided
to fight for their independence. In this primary document Thomas Paine states how corrupt the
relation between the colonists and Englandis, and how it needs to change. He starts off by saying
how even though everyone is born equal, people are not being treated equal. He says this is due
to the fact that the rich oppress the poor. Another reason for this he states is because we assign
people as kings which is giving these people more power. He states how it

Racism In Toni Morrison s Song Of Solomon
Title Analysis The title of Toni Morrison s acclaimed novel Song of Solomon has a few
meanings that can go along with it. The first is an allusion to the biblical book Song of Songs or
commonly know as Song of Solomon which is all about sexual themes and desires and that. The
next meaning is a reference to the protagonist s great grandfather whose name was Solomon and
had a song about him in which Solomon could fly and left his son Jake on the ground and
inevitably to a white man s house. Major Themes Racism: Racism plays a very pivotal role in
this work as it shapes a character thoroughly and even an entire group. Racism is seen to affect
Guitar and the Seven Days the most as Guitar has always hated the white man since he blamed
them for the death of his father but becomes more twisted as the novel progresses as he joins...

Theories Of Personality Paper
Theories of personality, among many other theories in the field of psychology, must use some
sort of scientific basis in order for the theory or research to be looked upon by others as credible.
Psychology is the scientific study of the mind and behavior, therefore it should be crucial for
theories of personality to be evaluated according to scientific criteria. Forming a hypothesis, testing
it out, observing, racking up data it should all be used during research. There needs to always be a
theoryin conjunction with research (Cloninger, S. 2013). Scientific criteria gives psychologists or
reseachers a firm base to follow, which makes it easier to validate theories. Evaluating a theory

Poverty Is A Global Concern And Its Eradication
Poverty is a global concern and its eradication is becoming surmountable. This is primarily due to
the challenges posed by international and national causes respectively. Besides, the complexity of
the phenomenon has not lend itself to be easily eradicated. Little wonder the world continues to
struggle to eradicate poverty. Africa is one of the poorest countries on the universe and research
and data show that Sierra Leone is one of the poorest countries in Sub Sahara (UNDP, 2015). Sierra
Leone s poverty has been a growing concern in spite of its numerous natural resources and
international financial and economic interventions. It is therefore worth investigating the trends of
the country s poverty and how it has impacted its people in the country.
Therefore, task of this paper is to examine the trend in which poverty in Sierra Leone is either
changing or stagnating and the disadvantages associated with poverty among children.
Consideration will also be given to policy in relation to the findings.
The first part of the essay will give a summary of the historical background of the country. This
chapter will throw light into the socio political and economic foundations of Sierra Leone.
Chapter two of the essay will concentrate on the definition of poverty as perceived by different
authors. These definitions throw light into the different perspectives of poverty and discuss various
measurements in assessing poverty especially in developing countries.

The Stigma Of The Mentally Ill
In our current society there is no love to be held for those who are classified as mentally ill. The
mentally ill have become a stigma in our modern day society. When society hears the word
mentally ill the unbidden thought of an unhinged man or woman walking down the street talking to
themselves or yelling incoherently comes to mind. If they aren t stereotyped as insane, then the
mentally ill are generally seen as awkward, violent, incompetent, or weird. Even without the
negative stereotypes, there are some who consider mentally ill people a burden on society simply
because they don t believe mental illnesses are actual diseases. For the people like myself who
haven t had any interactions with the mentally ill, we get our information about mental illnessfrom
mass media. The media is of no help to the mentally ill either, though the media may occasionally
portray a mentally ill character as quirky or bighearted, they are usually portrayed as insane and
coldhearted. The media unintentionally perpetuates the institutionalized fear of the mentally ill. If
society is constantly associating metal illness with negative character traits, this can lead to fear
and discrimination. Without the help of society backing them up, people with mental illnesses will
ignore or disregard them, or not be given the treatment they need. An example of this is evident in
Aviv s article, God Know Where I Am, Linda Bishop ignores the mental illness she has been

Because squared units are not intuitive, we square root the variance, known as the standard
deviation.
Diversification and Variance Reduction
When uncertain numbers are averaged together, the distribution of the average goes up in the
middle and down on the ends, becoming more centralized. This centralizing of the distribution is
the primary manifestation of diversification.
The width or narrowness of a distribution defines the range of uncertainty of the number. The wider
the distribution, the greater the variance, standard deviation and uncertainty.
The Central Limit Theorem
If enough independent samples of almost any distribution are averaged together, then the resulting
distribution will be normal .
The Normal Distribution
The normal distribution is an idealization of the result of averaging a large number of identical,
independent random variables. They are centered at their mean or average. Their width is measured
by the standard deviation, or the square root of the variance.

International Differences Of Well Being
As I continued my research, Ruut Veenhoven stated this question in Chapter 11 of the book
International Differences of Well Being the discussions centers on whether happiness is similar for
all humans or rather something that varies across cultures (328). This question interests me,
because it is a question that I think is very important. We all have a wide range of different
priorities and values. First, he chooses to define happiness: I use the word happiness for a
subjective state of mind, which I define as the overall appreciation of one s life as a whole.
Happiness is the sum of pleasures and pains . Happiness in this sense is synonymous with life
satisfaction and subjective well being (Veenhoven 329). Veenhoven, then, breaks up the questions
How universal is happiness into sub questions because it is too broad to answer. Veenhoven says
that, although the mood is something we are aware of it is mostly not in the foreground of our
consciousness. It is still assessable, and we can estimate how well we feel most of the time, unlike
babies.
Overall, Veenhoven finds that the circumstances of being happy seem to be the same across the
world and so are the consequences of enjoying life or not (329). Veenhoven s use of surveys and
statistics makes his research believable to his audience. He shows that being happy is not
complicated, and most people know whether they are happy with life or not. I think if we looked
at the specifics of what made us happy,

In the 1830s, the British Government began to look to South Africa for the abundant gold and

Transvaal and Transorangia regions in 1852 and 1854, the Voortrekkers knew that their hard work
had paid off. The migrants brought South Africa great pride and are a strong representation of a

The Negative Effects Of Media Multitasking And Its Effects...
1. The key issue which pertains to child development in this article is the negative effects which
multitasking has on kids brains and their ability to store long term memories. Many children and
teens have the overly inflated idea that they can attend to multiple things at once and still pay
attention to homeworkor a teacher talking in class. Multitaskingin general is not harmful but when it
comes to children multitasking while they are learning, it has the potential for the biggest negative
effect (Paul, 2013). In Paul s (2013) article, there is research presented by the Kaiser Family
Foundation which indicated that a third of the individuals who were surveyed stated that they used
other media outlets at the same time as they were studying or doing homework. Media multitasking
while learning has the most potential to have negative downsides because it is impairing the storing
of the long term memories necessary to recall said information later. In other studies, researchers
have recorded the large increase of negative effects which took place when children multitask while
studying. The most important thing for parents to do is remember that their children will media
multitask and it s okay. Just make sure that when it comes to homework that they put everything
aside and focus on what s in front of them (Roberts, 2013).
2. In the research presented in Berk (2018), it is seen that multitasking considerably reduces
learning capabilities. Children who are multitasking

Colonel Edwin Hillandale, An Air Force Officer
Another character providing a keen understanding of the SOF Imperatives was Colonel
Hillandale. Colonel Edwin Hillandale was an Air Force officer assigned as a liaison in the
Philippines. In the course of his duties, he began working with Ramon Magsaysay. Magsaysay
was having difficulty with his campaign efforts in a communist held province. This led
Hillandale to assist Magsaysay in his efforts. Hillandale refutes the communist messaging of
Americans being rich elitists who care who do not care about Filipinos. He accomplishes this by
eating the local food, being fluent in their language and by displaying a great knowledge of their
culture. He also uses his musical talents to attract a larger audience to hear his message. He told
the local Filipinos he could not afford a meal because the bulk of his paycheck went to
supporting his family, much like the Filipinos themselves. He played to the cultural obligations
of the Filipino people saying he had never met a Filipino who would not feed a hungry man. This
comment prompted all of the villagers to volunteer to feed him. He continued his engagements
for a few weeks. After the Filipinos met and identified with Hillandale, they no longer believed
the anti American propaganda spread by the Russians. Thanks to Hillandale s efforts, Magsaysay
enjoyed a landslide victory in the province. Hillandale use of the SOF imperatives made it easy
for him to achieve his goals. He provided a great understanding of applying his

Galileo And Pope John Paul 2 Summary
Through the use of the two quotes by Galileo and Pope John Paul II, Postman proposes that the use
of religion and science can provide the bases for morality and human improvement should one be
free from dogmatic judgement towards religion or science. Postman further emphasizes this
common theme present in the quotes by juxtaposing the two figures, Galileo being an important
contributor to the fields of scienceand Pope John Paul II holding one of the highest positions in the
Catholic Church, the two figures of which are almost antithetical to each other given their roles.
Following the essay s theme of religionand the new age of information being similar through the use
of blind faith, this juxtaposition further accentuates the religion/science

Critical Thinking Skills Report
Hi *|FNAME|*,
Thanks for signing up for a Resume Review with me. The following are suggestions that I believe
you should make to better show off your skills, experience, and value. The changes you should
make are below:
First off, for skills section, you list some skills that you need to actually provide examples for. Some
of those skills are Active Listening, Reading Comprehension, Critical Thinking, Time Management,
and Judgement and Decision Making. These skills need to be proved rather than listed on your
resume. Prove them through past examples of how you used them to help in a situation.
For your experience as the Director of Resident Affairs, only use bullet points that relate that show
the soft and communication skills you learned ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Grammatically, bullet points don t have periods. Also, start off each bullet point with a past tense
verb.
For your experience at COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT INSTITUTE HEADSTART, I believe the
title may have a grammar mistake.
One thing that I am noticing is your bullet points sound like there are copied from a job
description. I am not saying they are, but the bullet points don t sound unique in any way. For
each of the bullet points, describe in detail how you did that task and either what you
accomplished or what was the result. For example, for identify and recruit head start eligible
families and children, how did you recruit them, what did you do to find them. Describe more in
detail what you did, so you can better explain and better show what you did that is unique or made
something better.
You should remove the accomplishments section. Yes, accomplishments are important, but if you
don t show how those awards can help the employer, than they don t mean much.
Most resumes tend to leave off references, and simply put the line references available upon
request. This is mainly because listing all your references takes up space, but if you would like to
keep them on there, that s

Reflection Of Odysseus
Trying to decipher a person is a difficult task, perhaps impossible. We can, however, observe their
actions, their experiences and their resemblance to other people to make some progress in
comprehending them. Deciphering Odysseus is especially strenuous, for he is shown as a crafty
liar who tricks others to get what he wants. Additionally, we cannot tell where the truths end and the
lies begin. Consequently, we might not be able to wholly answer who Odysseusis but if we are to
understand the Odyssey, we first have to understand Odysseus.
Homer has constructed Odysseus as a complex character who is capable of molding himself into
different forms to get the best out of his surroundings. Despite this complexity, Homer has given
us enough clues to be able to recognize his actions. Of these clues, some are explicit and
obvious, others are implied and can be deduced via his speeches and his acts. The explicit ones
are easy, he is described to be, among other things, wise, kind and resourceful. The proofs of these
can be seen numerous times in the text and thus be taken at face value. The real difficulty starts
when we move past the explicit to the implicit.
To grasp his nature, we have to observe the other roles in the book who share parts of his
experiences, personalities or aims. Consider Telemachus. Despite the clear difference between his
and Odysseus` stature, other people like Nestor and Menelaus have no trouble accepting him to be
the son of Odysseus after hearing him

The rise of Militant Islam in Somalia occurred in the mid 1990 s with the alliance of a group of
Muslim legal scholars, clan leaders and business men operating in piracy, who comprised four
primary sects of leadership, based upon clan and regional affiliation. These four sects merged to
form the Supreme Islamic Courts Council (SICC), and operated with success until it was defeated
in 2006 by Transnational Federal Government. The SICC broke apart resulting in splinter terrorist
organizations which are now tied to the present rise in piracy off the coast of Somalia. Dissentions
among these groups are wide spread.
Now that an analysis have been provided with a background of research regarding the
composition and reason for militant groups, the research will focus on the case study to test
whether these theories modelled remain true within a radical group itself. To reiterate, the conflict
analysis will focus on a discussion of the dynamics and origins of the group power, group identity
and group purpose, and societal effects of the group. These findings will discuss the role of Islamic
extremism, funding by piracy, clan based fighting, and governmental factors which influenced the
fall of the Somali state.

Dealing with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome
I hurt...Over the many year s now of dealing with the disease commonly referred to today as
Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), this simple yet weighted term of I hurt has become
imprinted upon my brain. This term has also become synonymous in describing how I feel to
every physician, family member, and friend, when describing the chief symptom with CRPS.
What is also troubling, is all the additional place s I hurt now since being diagnosed with this
disease. The paragraph above is intentionally wrote in the first person, however, it never states
whom the I or character is and at any other time would be slanted for poor grammar. Here being
the I in the first paragraph, in this case, can stand for anyone diagnosed with CRPS, as well as,
the undiagnosed. People in the undiagnosed category is where a lot of misery abides, they are
telling everyone they hurt yet get no relief. This is a sad category because a lot of it lies in the
face of false hood. Doctor s and family do not believe you. You might have no other symptom than
pain, and then, you get slapped with drug seeking behavior. I shutter and cringe as to how many
undiagnosed cases of CRPS take place every year just in the United States. There is also a
middle category to this conundrum, whereby, your given the title of CRPS, however, your not
fully diagnosed per se or the diagnosis of CRPS is not recognized, understood, or believed to be the
case by other physician s. This nice little slice of heaven is where

Moraes and others (2016) found in their study that the children who had been participating in a
hippotherapy program had better functional ability compared to their own pre treatment ability.
This was measured by the completion of a standard questionnaire by the parents of the children.
While this essentially makes the parents the data collectors for this portion of the study,
considerable bias is removed by using a questionnaire with specific self help tasks and daily routine
tasks which the parents then rank based on their childs ability to perform said tasks with or without
assistance. This makes the data more dependable and more acceptable to the scientific community

A Walk Through Reality With Stephen Crane Essay
A Walk Through Reality With Stephen Crane
Seeking and expressing the bare truth is often more difficult than writing stories of fiction. This
truth can be harsher to the reader than works of fiction; it can make an author s desire to reveal the
essence of society through characters the reader relates to risky and unpopular. Stephen Crane
wrote of ordinary people who face difficult circumstances that his readers could relate to (Seaman
148). Crane sought to debunk the ideas that were inherent in nineteenth century literature, which
depicted life in a more favorable, but often unrealistic, light. In Crane s works, Dorothy Nyren
Curley says, There are no false steps, no excesses, (255).

takes her to shows and restaurants, introducing Maggie to the better things in life. Maggie falls

However, Pete impregnates her, and he leaves her soon after. Pregnant and alone, Maggie turns to
her mother, whom she had run away from, and in turn, her mother rejects her. Desperate and broke,
Maggie turns to the streets of Manhattan and prostitution. When her life becomes too much for her
to endure, Maggie commits suicide.
Crane portrays Maggie as an ordinary, poor, abused woman to depict her as a character his
audience can relate to and sympathize with. Her life is marred with one tragedy after another,
and her emotional strength is tried too many times for her to endure. A young, dreamy woman,
Maggie fantasizes of searching for far away lands where, as G d says, the little hill sing together

the lower East End of Manhattan:

Why Does Zora Neale Need Tea Cake In Their Eyes Were...
Their Eyes Were Watching God Decisions.... Anyone who s ever read Their Eyes Were Watching
God can partake in this argument did Janie need Tea Cake, or was she better off alone and in no
relationship? I ve come to the conclusion that Janie is better off in a relationship with Tea Cake
because in the book, he teaches her to appreciate herself, he is responsible and tells the truth, and
he allows her to have fun. One reason Janie is better off with Tea Cake is the fact that Tea Cake
repeatedly teaches her to appreciate herself. Tea Cake and Mrs. Mayor Starks! All the men that
she could get, and fooling with somebody like Tea Cake (Hurston 110) ! This is a classic
example of peer pressure; Janie handles it herself and avoids the larger crowd. She trusted her
gut and went with Tea Cake anyway, thus showing appreciation to her wants and not others.
Another example is how Tea Cake provides Janie with the sense that age doesn t matter. ...He

she is not sacrificing a comfortable life just to have fun. Put dat two hundred back wid de rest,

Mathematics Competition At An Early Age
With a strong desire to challenge myself and a thirst for innovation, I started participating in
Olympic Mathematics Competition at an early age an area full of new ideas, challenging
problems. Mathematics is said to be a male dominated area, nevertheless, I wanted to show that it is
wrong. From elementary school to high school, I enjoyed my summers with intensive training on
nationally renowned mathematical competitions. While the medals I earned in mathematic
competitions have opened up doors for me in middle school, high school, and then college, the
knowledge and experiences gained from years of unremitting dedication to the craft of problem
solving has proven to be the most rewarding result. I became eager to explore my potential, and
have no fear for failure. My talents and persistent effort enabled me to get full score in National

days being with girls from all around the world revolutionized my way of thinking. I was impressed
by the elegant solutions provided by those girls from other countries and their enthusiasm towards
perfection. This motivated me go abroad to study with those talented minds.

The Professional Army As A Profession
The Professional Army
The term professional has always been loosely associated with the Army since its official
organization in 1775. The title of Army professional in the past was restricted to only the officer
ranks discarding Soldiers and the Non Commissioned Officers. The fluctuating opinions of the
professional Army was mostly due to social definitions of a professional, and the Army s ability
to meet its criteria. The Army is a profession because it requires specialized skills and human
expertise, establishes ethical behavior for its members, and contain members who embrace and are
stewards of the culture. The Army is a profession because it requires a collaboration of highly
training Soldiers who possess specialized skills that combine to operate in complex situations in
more complex environments. General Martin Dempsey stated that The Profession of Arms requires
expert knowledge, and that expertise is manifested as unique skills in the individual professional
and by Army units. For the purpose of this paper the operational definition of the term profession is:
a type of job that requires special education training, or skill. In order to meet and maintain the
demands of this definition, The Army has established the Army Development Model which consists
of institutions, operational training, and self development to create highly skilled service members.

Papers On Homelessness
Homeless is more than being without a home. It is tied into education needs, food, security; health
issues both mental and physical, employment issues, etc. Don t forget the whole picture. ( Boxed In

Throughout my research I found there is a real cry out for action on providing more affordable
house not just locally but throughout the country. There needs to be more funding available to
build more gear to income or subsidized housing and all levels of government need to take action.
Homelessness has different meanings to different people; someone who has never been homeless

There are many people that are at risk of becoming homeless and some of the risks are; people

Families require stabilized housing that is affordable, safe and maintained. If they don t have

As a result of the housing boom from 2005 to 2008 this had caused prices of houses to increase

A Literary Analysis Of Everyday Use By Alice Walker
Literary Analysis on Everyday Use A daughter who uses her mother s gifts in contrast to a

because heritage values can be preserved. From here on, Walker utilizes a prideful tone which later

Here the tone shifted from prideful to authoritative. Dee demanded to own the two quilts. Mama
said the quilts had been made by her ancestors and she hung up on them on the quilt frames on the

keep the family s generations alive, and the front porch symbolizes the connection of the family
with the world. Mama knew the quilts were what kept the generations together, regardless of
what the people around thought or did.The quilts needed to be used in order to keep the family
traditions alive. Soon after, the protagonist came up with an excuse and said the lavender

wanted the quilts because to preserve them, not because of an emotional connection to them. In

The Story Of Us By Deb Caletti
The Story of Us is written by Deb Caletti and is a romance adventure book. It is set in a nice,
expensive country living space. Caletti wrote this book in honor and memory of her and her little
family of three s furry friend, Jupiter.
18 year old Cricket had loved her best friend, Janssen, for as many years as she had lived in their
secluded living space. When Cricket was younger her parents got a divorce, forcing Cricket s
mom, Cricket and her brother, Ben, out of the house and into something better for all of them.
When they first moved away from all their family friends, it was a hard transition. They had never
lived in the country and of course they never really heard any of the country animals (coyotes,
wolves, hyenas, etc.) in person. The adjustment wasn t easy for the kids or for their mother, so
they decided to get a puppy to keep them busy. They named this puppy Jupiter and loved her
with their whole hearts. Janssen was the boy who lived up the road and was always over at their
house. He and Cricket grew in their relationship when Cricket s dad became aware of her mother
s successful life. While he was there he began to get very physical with Cricket s mom. Janssen
stepped in, as a 17 year old, and very harshly said not to mess with this family or with him. After
that Janssen and Cricket were inseparable. Their relationship grew as well as them. Time came for
Cricket to graduate and the days were rough. She could either choose Janssen, or the college that she

He also shows the courage of the soldiers by writing, Men marched asleep . Many had lost their
boots, but limped on, blood shod . The first stanza has eight lines and follows the rhyming scheme
of A, B, A, B through out the poem.
Owen uses this stanza as a tool to build up the story and is able to set the scene for the reader.
Owen uses many similes in this poem and writes, Bent double, like old beggars under sacks, and
Knock kneed, coughing like hags, we cursed through sludge . Owen uses a number of verbs as
adjectives such as haunting flares and dropping flares… The second Stanza is six lines and it
also has the rhyming scheme A, B, A, B, C, D.
Throughout the stanza Owen uses graphic detail to emphasise the pain of the soldiers, which
creates for the reader a violent image, which is calmed down by the last line, Of gas shells
dropping softly behind. The next line is, Gas! Gas! Quick, boys! Again this changes the mood,
from peaceful to violent. The reader then becomes prepared for some action in the poem. This is
a swift build up of description into the untimely demise of one of the soldiers. There are a lot of
one word sentences and exclamation marks to show the panic and horror of the soldiers.
The soldier, who is harmed by the gas bomb, is described by Wilfred
Owen as a helpless creature through the usage of words such as
floundering . The polluted air around him is described as a green
sea.

Controlled Fire in the Paleolithic Period (2.6 million B.C. 10,000 B.C.)
The origins of controlled fire go back to the Paleolithic Period, by early humans some of the
evidence takes us all the way back to East Africa. The use of controlled fire was a big and
important development for these early humans, this tool could be handled in so many ways not
only provided them food but also shelter, and protection.
The development of controlled fire meant that food could be haunted and cooked immediately so

the creation of tools in order to hunt they found themselves hunting deer, mammoths and bears
which provided large, thick and furry coats for them. At first their clothing tended to be simple by
making holes in the head and arm area letting them drape all over their bodies. Later on it can be
seen that they grew more and more sophisticated by creating strips to wrap their clothing in place
sort of like belts.
After Neanderthals there came the invention of the tunics by the Cro Magnon people they mainly
consisted of skin from a given animal and it

Reflection On Self Development Through Reflection
Self development through reflection is a key issue of education and learning (Kennison, 2012),
where you learn through experience (Tashiro, Shimpuku, Naruse and Matsutani, 2013), learn to self
evaluate (Duffy, 2013), identify gaps in knowledge and detect where further training or study is
required to improve practice (Olarerin, 2013). Ultimately reflection is thought to be constant
learningfrom practice, thus refining knowledge and experiences and putting them into practice
(Naidoo, 2013).
Within my reflection examples (Appendix 1) I recognised where my knowledge and experience
was lacking, through self evaluation. For instance when completing an electrocardiogram (ECG).
I learned through my extra reading, how completing an ECG incorrectly could cause the patient to
require un necessary treatment (Houghton, 2014). Through my extra study I was able to learn
where exactly where the electrodes are positioned on the body for an accurate EGC tracing to be
produced (Crawford and Doherty, 2012; University of Nottingham, 2015). I used this knowledge
throughout my placement and I am now confident in conducting ECG s in my future practice. In
achieving self development in this example I linked my learning directly to my practice (Ross,
2014), where I developed a fundamental skill and expanded my knowledge for my continued
development in my nursing career and practice (Aronson, 2011).

Nursing practice is a key issue within reflective practice. It supports

Limitations Of Body Weight Exercise
Bodyweight training has been a popular form of exercise for decades, especially when it comes
to group exercise classes and workout videos. It can certainly be an effective form of exercise, but
bodyweight training programs are often designed without really considering the many different
types of people who perform the workouts. Bodyweight exercises are typically assumed to be
appropriate for everyone, but that is not exactly true.
Since bodyweight exercises do not use external resistance (weights, bands, etc.), people usually do
not think about them having a numerical difficulty or weight value. As a result, bodyweight
exercises are thought of as essentially being one size fits all with a person s weight being the
correct amount for the exercise. There is a major flaw with this way of thinking, because
bodyweight exercises do have weight just like any other form of resistance training. The difference
is that instead of holding or supporting an external weight, the resistance of each exercise is
determined by a percentage of your bodyweight.
Therefore, each exercise does have a numerical resistance/weight value, even though you will not
know the exact amount when performing the exercise. The important thing to realize is every
bodyweight exercise puts a specific amount of stress on your muscles and as with every other type
of exercise, the difficulty of bodyweight exercises should appropriately match your ability level
and your goals. If the difficulty of the exercise is not

Importance Of Consumerism
Introduction
Importance of Consumerism or Consumer Movement The ancestries of consumerism can be traced
back virtually as far as the beginning of commerce and trade. In business activities, the consumer s
concept is significant, and every attempt is made to promote consumer satisfaction (Rajagopalan,
2011). In reality, consumer may be exploited and cheated by unethical businessman as they are un
organized that lacking of knowledge to safeguard their right (Rajagopalan, 2011). According to
Philip Kotler and G. Amstrong, consumerism is defined that consists of the organized effects of
citizens and private, not for profit organizational to impose the rights and power, and also collective
welfare of buyers in relation to seller (Rajagopalan, 2011). Consumerism also means that consumers
are trying to unite together to protect their own interests. So that consumer organizational could
provide and organize efforts to fight against unfair marketing practice and to achieve consumer
protection when purchasing goods and services (Chand, 2015). This is a democratic action for self
protecting and also a collective effort done by consumers to safeguard their own rights to against
their exploitation in this complex economic environment. These organized activities are also called

Bad Problems In My Life
Bad things happen to everyone. Everyone has their problems but life still will go on, whether
you want it to or not. My timeline shows problems that I had throughout the past 17 years of my
life. I had surgerys, and i ve hurt myself too many time to count, but I kept on going. Even when I
was young, I pushed past all those problems, and I still have continued to succeed today. I do
things I need to do to get where I wantto be later, whether it was something small of something
big for me, I got it done. I took some time off, I got better, and I didn t let these downfalls slow
me down. I got sick often when I was younger, so the liquids would drain from my sinuses and
into my ears, but my ears would not drain. I got tubes put in my ears to help drain some of that
liquid. When kids get tubes put in their ears they have to be put to sleep. Once you get out of the
hospital the next couple of days you were told to just rest, I guess I was just a hard head back
then because I did not listen. I was up trying to play within thirty minutes of being home. I
sprained my ankle at a softball game. I went to the hospital, they gave me the things I needed:
crutches, the blue stabilizer thing. I never had to use crutches before, so I never knew how to use
them. I was a kid back then, so I didn t want to stay in bed. I wanted to go to all my dad s co ed
softball games. I fell so many times on the crutches, I probably would of walked better and faster
just by walking regularly. I had to

Cause And Effect Essay On Woodstock
The thing about Woodstock is that it really came out of the blue. Nobody really anticipated what it
was going to become. said Anthony DeCurtis, an editor of the Rolling Stones magazine, when
speaking of the 1969 Music and Arts festival that rocked a generation. To many that dared not to
enter inside the hot box of an event, Woodstock was viewed as a castrophy that in the grand scheme
of things, caused more harm than good.
The festival wasn t held in Woodstock to many people s disbelief because of lack of space there to
hold an astounding 100 000 people. So, it was moved to Middletown, New York but a month or
so before the first day of the festival, permits were taken away because shockingly, people didn t
want stoners and hippies playing rock and roll in their backyard. This caused a rather big panic
among organizers. But because of a very generous farmer, Max Yasgur
, the festival location was
changed to his farm in Bethel, New York, as he had 600 acres... Show more content on

However once word caught wind that things had settled with location and that 32 bands were
secured and performing; such as the famous Jimi Hendrix, people disregards previous thoughts and
flocked to the event.
Despite the audience having to pay for tickets to get in, 60,000 early comers entered the field
where the stage was being set up and began camping out because fences closing in the event were
not finished being put up. This was 2 days before opening night and already over half the amount
of anticipated people had snuck in for free.
Lang and Kornfeld could have never imagined that because of huge mass of people that had
already snuck in, the festival would end up becoming a free event and the time frame of the
festivals 4 days (Aug 15 18), half a million people would end up

What Are Gender Roles In The Importance Of Being Earnest
The Importance of Being Earnest is one of Oscar Wilde s crowning masterpieces. The acclaimed
comedic play tells the tale of Jack Worthing and the mischief he causes when he and his best friend,
Algernon Moncrieff, assume double identities. When analyzing the play from various critical
perspectives, the reader can divulge into the various historical roots and gender roles that the author
uses to promote his message and criticize the Victorian upper class.
Evaluating the play from a historical critical perspective offers a retrospective look into the various
references the play makes to Victorian England. The Victorian Eraof England is typically defined
as the period in which Queen Victoria reigned as monarch. The Victorian period... Show more

Perhaps the most overarching gender roles throughout the play are those associated with
courting. Both Gwendolyn and Cecily are convinced that they could not be with someone who s
name isn t Ernest. Gwendolyn tells Jack this in Act I. I have known several Jacks, and they all,
without exception, were more than usually plain. The only really safe name is Ernest (Wilde
20). Cecily again reiterates a similar message to Algernon in Act III. You must not laugh at me,
darling, but it had always been a girlish dream of mine to love someone whose name was Ernest.
There is something in that name that seems to inspire absolute confidence. I pity any poor married
woman whose husband is not called Ernest (Wilde 61). Both Gwendolyn and Cecily are convinced
that Ernest is the optimal name for a partner due in large part to the qualities that society perceives
from it. It is in this aspect of their attractiveness to the name that both characters reflect the gender
roles of courting to satisfy society rather than themselves. They both like the name Ernest not
because they themselves enjoy it but rather because they enjoy how society interprets it and how it
makes them look. Men and women searched for an ideal relationship based on the expectations of a
demanding society. If a man or woman did not possess the qualities desired by the Victorian society,
the opposite sex may have dismissed the person as an unsuitable mate (Appell). Both men and
women were expected to court those who fit society s expectations, not their own, and this gender
role is present in the play. Another gender stereotype present is patriarchal authority and superiority.
Throughout the Victorian Era, men were valued more than women. The man was the head of the
household and their word was final. This is very much present throughout much of the

Essay On Acting 101
At first, when I registered for the acting class, I expected something entirely different than what
the class turned out to be. My initial thoughts were that there would exist costumes to wear and
various lines to memorize, which didn t developed to be the case. While, I m blue the class didn t

The Effect Of Photosynthesis On The Environment Of...
Photosynthesis is defined as the process by which green plants manufacture their food (organic
compounds) making use of carbon dioxide and water in the presence of sunlight.
It is also the synthesis of carbohydrate from sunlight, water and CO2 by the green plants. It is an
endergonic and anabolic process. Bacteria show an oxygenic photosynthesis as they do not use
water and do not evolve oxygen. Cyanobacteria (blue green algae) evolved oxygen first time in
evolution as they show oxygenic photosynthesis.
Photosynthesis is an endothermic reaction and it consists of a series of complex reactions. This
reaction during photosynthesis is grouped into two stages called Light reaction and Dark reaction.
This stage occurs during the day or in the presence of sunlight. The light energy or solar energy
is captured by the chlorophyll and electrons are excited. The energy so trapped is used to split
water into hydrogen ion (H+) and hydroxyl ion (H ). The splitting of water into hydrogen ion (H+)
and hydroxyl ion (H ) is called photolysis of water.
Water combines with carbon dioxide in the presence of sunlight within the chlorophyll of leaves to
manufacture food (glucose) and oxygen is liberated as a by product. Photosynthesis occurs in all
green plants. Photosynthesis is an endothermic reaction and it consists of a series of complex
reactions. This reaction during photosynthesis is grouped into two stages called Light reaction and
Dark reaction. During this process, oxygen is given

Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) is an iterative process of: planning to improve a product
or process, plan implementation, analyzing and comparing results against those expected, and
corrective action on differences between actual and expected results. It is little used in clinical
medicine. Anemia, a complex problem in End Stage Renal Disease patients, served to test the
ability of an unique electronic medical record (EMR) optimized for daily care to empower CQI in

Informative Essay On Nascar
He started from the bottom and now he is on top with the big dogs, Nascar is not just about left
turns, there is a lot more than just that in the sport. It is about how much banking and routs to take
on certain tracks, it is about the history of the sport. Drivers have to know when to pit and change
tires, get more fuel and tell the pit crew to adjust the wedge. Nascarrequires years and years of
training, You also have to have sponsors to get a race car. In this paper you will find out what
nascar is really about. The history of Nascar starts way back in the day when moonshining was

Bootleggers would supe up their cars to go faster than the others and win reputation and some

history was at Darlington the first asphalt super speedway, But the first sanctioned race was at
Daytona Beach in 1948 and that race was won by Red Byron in a Ford modified. A big shock to
the sport was the first African American driver and his name was Wendell Scott, he was the first
African American to win in nascar. In 1979 Richard Petty would win 7 championships in a row
marking a battle between Richard petty and Dale Earnhardt. By 2004 the first chase for the
Nascar Nextel cup would take place and be won by Kurt Bush. Jimmie Johnson would tie Cale
Yarbrough record for Sprint Cup championships in 2008, in 2009 Jimmie Johnson would break
that record and be announced as male athlete of the year. Most Nascar enthusiast say the sport
died when Dale Earnhardt sr died, because Nascar would make the sport more safe so nothing
like Dale s crash could happen again, Nascar would set rules around bumping and rubbing to keep
from drivers crashing and possibly passing away. Nascar ended up making the cars some of the
safest cars on the planet, with all of the safety attachments they have on the cars

Lorraine Hansberry Essay
Her first play, A Raisin In the Sun, is based on her childhood experiences of desegregating a
white neighborhood. It won the New York Drama Critic s Circle Award as Best Play of the Year.
She was the youngest American, the fifth woman and the first black to win the award. Her success
opened the floodgates for a generation of modern black actors and writers who were influenced and
encouraged by her writing.
Hansberry was born in 1930, the youngest of four children of Carl and Nannie Hansberry, a
respected and successful black family in Chicago, Illinois. Nannie was the college educated
daughter of an African Methodist Episcopal minister, and Carl was a successful real estate

Cover of A Raisin in the Sun
Hansberry used the success of A Raisin In the Sun as a platform to speak out for the American
Civil Rights Movement and for the African struggle to free itself from white rule. She helped raise
money, gave impassioned speeches and took part in panels and interviews to further these causes.
After her initial success she lived only six years and was able to complete only one more play, a
movie and a television script which was too racially controversial to be aired. Her second play,
The Sign in Sidney Brustein s Window, was received with mixed reviews and kept open for 101
performances only by the contributions and support of the theatre community. It closed the night
she died at 34 from cancer. After her death Nemiroff finished and produced her final work, Les
Blancs, a play about African liberation.
Hansberry had begun to claim her identity as a lesbian in a 1957 letter to a lesbian periodical, The
Ladder. This information and her 1964 divorce from Nemiroff was not widely known at the time of
her death. In 1965 the Gay Liberation Movement did not exist and a woman could not claim such
an identity without major reprisals. It was not until the 1980s that feminist scholars began

Explain Why Adult Interactions with Children Are Important...
M1. Explain why adult interactions with children are important part of supporting their learning
Adult interaction is the key to measure a child s development. It helps understand the importance of
analysing children s progress and achievement. All children are different and unique. Interaction
helps children build stable, healthy and satisfying relationship and close bonding with their family,
friends, classmates and care takers (social development). They learn to cooperate and work as part
of team. Interaction creates awareness of a child s development, strengths, needs, interest and most

Interact with the child help him to take responsibility for task such as dressing up, feeding and
tidying up which encourage to develop their self reliance.
At children s invitation we can participate in their games, at their level and play along, suggesting
new ideas and prompting for further ideas while continuing the same activity. We need to manage
their routine such as the duration of play. We can assess their behaviours (emotional environment)
also. We are a role model and hence our behaviour pattern can guide them to an acceptable level.
We need to interact positively with children as they observe and learn to talk and act with warmth
and respect towards others or develop patience. We need to sympathise, understand their point of
view and avoid being judgemental of their actions and thoughts. It gives a feeling of importance and
helps the child open up and share more information.
We can provide additional support to children with slow motor skills and help them overcome
frustration. For example, if they find writing difficult, a keyboard can be used to simplify the
task. Or, motivate them to read by providing books that they like such as those of current super
heroes. We help children to record what they have discovered or achieved in an activity (creating
wall chart and displaying their work in that area where everyone can access it).
Interaction helps understand why a child may find an activity difficult and enable us to help

King Lear Vs Quarto Essay
King Lear was first printed in 1608. This initial printing is now referred to as the First Quarto.
Another Quarto version was printed in 1619, and King Lear appeared again in a 1623 Folio
edition. The First Quarto contains 300 lines not found in the Folio, and the Folio contains 100
lines not found in the First Quarto. Because many differences exist between the Quarto and Folio
editions, some recent anthologies of Shakespeare s works contain play text from both editions,
and may also include a conflated edition derived from a combination of both the First Quarto and
Folio versions. Although the text was not printed until 1608, the play was performed in December
1606. The exact date of composition is not known, so scholars often try to base the point in time
on references in the play itself. Because of this uncertainty and the textual references, the
composition of King Lear may have taken place anywhere from 1604 to 1606.... Show more content

  • 2. Trunk Flexion We found that the muscle strength of trunk flexion showed significant differences within group and between groups. The results of the trunk back extension showed significant differences within group. Our result of increased trunk strength was similar to previous study results. Within group difference of muscleactivation was higher in the BLSE group than in the HLSE group. This implies that the EO and RA were activated as the agonist of trunk flexion, and that muscle hypertrophy can increase strength of trunk flexion when activated by the EO and RA. One study showed EO activated approximately 32% of MVIC by bracing and 12% of MVIC by hollowing (Grenier McGill, 2007). The % EMG max values in RA was 18% in the bracing strategy, while the RA value was approximately 6% in the hollowing strategy(Maeo et al., 2013). Thus, we suggest that trunk flexion strength would be increased by muscle hypertrophy if the bracing strategy is applied in side plank exercise and prone plank exercises, which activate EO and RA, for 12 weeks. In trunk back extension, the % EMG max value of ES was 20% in bracing group and 10% in hollowing group, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... HLSE and BLSE can be recommended as applicable and generalized exercises for the improvement of trunk strength and low back disability of elderly women with NSLBP. Especially, HLSE, which leads to preferential contraction of TrA and was more effective in improving low back disability. BLSE was more efficient in strengthening the trunk muscle through muscle hypertrophy of co contraction of antero lateral trunk muscles for 12 weeks. However, further, large scale clinical studies are necessary to identify the therapeutic effectiveness of hollowing and bracing strategies; male participants and broad age groups must be studied to increase power and to detect ... • 3. Reasons For Russia s Involvement In World War I Russia s Involvement in World War I In the year of 1914 the Russian government is starting to see Germany as the main threat to its nation. The reason behind this was because of Germany s decision to form an alliance with Austria Hungary and Italy; this became to be known as the Triple Alliance. This new Alliance meant that if any of the allied countries were to be invaded by Russia or France they would support each other in battle when in need. However the initial spark of Russia s involvement in World War Ibegan with honoring its treaty with Serbia. On June 28th 1914 Franz Ferdinand the heir to the Austro Hungarian throne visited the capital city of Bosnia known as Sarajevo, he traveled to Sarajevo in order to inspect the armed forces of ... • 4. Essay On Employee Assistance Programs Working with Employee Assistance Programs I was glad to read about the different settings available for the clinical mental health counselor to work within. It is always good to know several options exists, and if you do not like where you currently are working, you could always switch settings. Before reading the text, I was thinking of working in private practice, but I am now unsure if I would be willing to take risks associated with the private practice area. The responsibility of being solely liable for all financial matters, accounting, administrative work, and inconsistent revenue streams is quite scary (Gladding Newsome, 2018, p. 385). Currently, the setting that is most appealing for me to work in is the employee assistance... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the world where managed care organizations are pushing for counseling sessions to be short, employee assistance programs seem like the right fit for short term services, with three to eight sessions being the norm. As an EAP counselor, it is essential for me to be assured of my ability to protect my clients confidentiality. I am aware of lines being blurred when counseling, for instance, a boss and his/her employee. I should be able to assure both parties that the information shared during our sessions will be held to the privacy standards required of counselor and client relationships. Committing to professional behaviors such as maintaining a strictly professional relationship, being an attentive listener, respecting cultural differences, and advocating for my clients. I would also be trained in working with adults, as well as children and couples since EAP services sometimes include the family members. An asset I would like to have is some wellness and prevention training because a focus in EAP counseling is geared towards wellness. To become an EAP counselor, I would need to participate in continuing education training, including substance abuse and addictions counseling; knowledge about the business world is also a necessary asset. The Employee Assistance Program Association (EAPA) offers training classes through its local chapters (Gladding Newsome, 2018). Clinical mental health counselors are just one ... • 5. The Debate On Abortion And Abortion Abortion. This word leaves most people feeling uneasy after just saying it out loud. The discussion of abortion is continuously left open ended with millions of opinions, arguments, and questions. Abortions occur every single day leaving potential fathers devastated or thrilled, leaving friends and families broken and distraught or in contrast, proud. More importantly, leaving the potential mother uncertain and even destroyed. But with abortionin mind, what is considered wrong and what is considered right? What is moral and what is immoral? Is all faith in humanity questioned at the sole argument of either aborting or not aborting an unborn child? Moreover, who is granted the superior authority on deciding what is morally correct or incorrect this day and age. As I said before, bottomless questions and vast accusations tend to be the fuel for this fire. It is as if society is waiting for the perfect, yet, moderate argument on abortion, tying up all of the loose ends and meeting somewhere in between what is right and what is wrong when considering abortion rights. Is there even a common ground of understanding when debating the existence of another human? The endless and twisted argument continues to linger on, although Judith Jarvis Thomson s Defense of Abortion communicated insightful views which in fact influenced my very own ideas on the argument of abortion. As I was reading Thomson s, Defense on Abortion I found myself unsure and often questioning the side she ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Characters Of The Outsiders In The Outsiders Everyone is an outsiders in some type of way, and it can be that you just don t fit in. That s Okay because there are a lot of people that don t exactly fit in! The Outsiders was made in the 1960 s by H.E Hinton and was placed in Tulsa Oklahoma. H.E Hinton is girl who was 17 when she published her book, and she went under the name H.E. Hinton because she didn t want nobody to judge her book by her gender she wanted them to judge the book by the book. Her real name is Susan Eloise Hinton. What characters in the Outsiders are different than the rest and don t exactly fit in? The outsiders refers to Johnny, Cherry, and Ponyboy. First, Johnny is an outsider since he goes away from the ideal that society has for greasers. The evidence is that he doesn t like fighting and feels that it s useless. I know this because in Document F it says, We won, Dally panted, We beat the Socs. We stomped them chased them outta our territory. Johnny didn t even try to grin at him. Useless...fighting s no good.... Which means that he thinks that fighting is no good which is going against society ideals of greasers. Another piece of evidence is that he doesn t do what regular greasers do. I know this because in Document D it says, I know, I said. Well, I said, thinking this over, you ain t like any of the gang, I mean, I couldn t tell Two Bit or Steve or even Darry about the sunrise and clouds and stuff. I couldn t even remember that poem around them. I mean, they don t dig. Just ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Terrorism and Political Violence by Alex Schmid Terrorism can be defined and viewed in many different ways. As discussed in Terrorism and Political Violence, by Alex Schmid, there are multiple frameworks in which terrorism can be defined (Schmid 2010, 197). In Schmid s article, he discusses the five ways he feels terrorism can be looked at, terrorism as/and politics, terrorismas/and crime, terrorism as/and warfare, terrorism as /and communication and terrorism as/and religious fundamentalism (Schmid 2010, 197). This is interesting because it explores the concept of terrorism in different lenses, where each has its own motives, its own background and its own participants. This is important to understand because not every act of terrorism is done in the same light and for the same purposes. Just as any other crime, there are reasons behind the act. When studying terrorism, understanding motives makes all the difference, and understanding what is at stake for the attacker or the attacked helps fully conceptualize the matter. As defined by the Federal Bureau of Investigations, acts of terrorism can fit into one of two ways, domestic terrorism and international terrorism (FBI.gov). Although, there are two types, overall the FBI defines terrorism in general as a violent act intended to manipulate the civilian body, the government, and/or to involve putting people in danger on a federal or state level (FBI.gov). Meaning that someone (organization, government, institution, etc.) violently attacks someone else (government, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Orson Welles Influences When talking about how the Western culture has been influenced over the years, it is impossible not to talk about Orson Welles, a man who has shaped the face of American cinema, radio, and theatre. Orson Welles was born to two highly educated parents, Richard and Beatrice, who taught him to play the violin, the piano, and traveled around the world with him. He was born in Wisconsin, and although in his young years he was introduced to much of the world around him, his childhood wasn t exactly happy. When he was four years old his parents separated, and by the time he was nine his mother would be dead from jaundice. When we was thirteen his father died as well, this time do to his alcoholic nature. Luckily Orson Welleswas taken in by a man named Maurice Bernstein, who fostered his passion for theatre. Despite his challenging upbringing Orson Welles still became one of the most, if not the most important face of our modern media. In 1975 he received the Lifetime Achievement Award of the American FilmInstitute and was awarded the Directors Guild of America s D.W. • 9. Law Enforcement Cameras Infringe On People s Right To Privacy Surveillance cameras are widely used around the world by both law enforcement officers and private entities. The main purpose of installing these devices is to identify any suspicious behavior or criminal activities (Costa, Guedes, Vasques Portugal 1). For example, in American cities, the police monitor and ticket those who run red lights or drive past the set speed limits using surveillancecameras. State officials monitor these cameras from different locations in the country. With technological advancements, these devices can reveal one s identity, car number plates, and some even show any items hidden underneath clothing. Nations around the world continue to intensify public surveillance in a bid to provide a safe environment for their citizens. However, not all persons support the use of law enforcement cameras. Many argue that these cameras infringe on people s right to privacy(Neyland 2). Although some of their arguments are sensible, this paper will conduct a discussion aimed at... This enables them to record all happening wherever they go including in people s homes. This is a huge invasion of the people s privacy especially in instances of non consensual entry (Siegel Worrall 311). The law enforcement officials obtain recordings that are not related to the issue of concern. This could be the owners possessions or any other activities that take place in the house. Opponents also show concern over the technological advancements that have led to the creation of cameras that can see through clothing. This violates a person s privacy for the obvious reason that privacy is the very reason people wear clothes. It would, therefore, be useless to wear clothes if law enforcement officers have the ability to see through them. The use of this technology propagates voyeurism and other socially unacceptable ... K. pneumoniae can cause different types of healthcare associated infections that include pneumonia, blood, and wound infections along with meningitis. K. pneumoniae is normally found in the intestines of human stool. Infections are most common with people who require ventilators, intravenous catheters or patients taking long courses of antibiotics. Indole, MR VP and Citrate will vary among different subspecies according to bergey s manual of determinative bacteriology. The reason why I decided on K. pneumoniae over E. aerogenes is because of the gelatin and motile test. According to bergey s manual, Enterobacter liquefies gelatin very slowly and in addition E. aerogenes will test positive for motility. To further differentiate K. pneumoniae from Enterobacter and narrow down the exact species of K. pneumoniae the urea hydrolysis assay could have been the determining factor. • 11. Application And Supporting Student Learning Standard 1: Engaging and Supporting All Students in Learning: Engaging and supporting student learning has developed into an area of strength for me. What I have witnessed first hand is that by moving through the general education curriculum you can embed skills predicated on each student s current level of instruction. You use the general education curriculum as a backdrop and then adapt and modify the curriculum to suit each student s needs. It sounds like it s not possible when you actually hear it in a credential program. It s not until you actually start becoming familiar with each student and their needs that it becomes clearer as to what to do. For example, we did a series of lessons about integers which is actually a sixth ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I often rewarded students with tokens for going above and beyond in helping their classmates. I want to inspire them to be not just good students, but even better people! The impetus for this realization came about as the subject of SBAC and Cal. Alt. testing was broached in a staff meeting in the winter. We were given booklets that contained questions that were old or similar questions to those that had appeared before on the test. I used these booklets as a planner for my winter/spring instruction guide. I went through the booklets with the class doing the problems. As we approached each problem, if it was a subject we had not yet covered or discussed, I would break it down and build a lesson around it. It was quite beneficial as we were now working on things that they would ultimately see on their respective tests. They were doing exactly what their general education peers were doing. The difference being that rather than glancing over the material, I was using the material as a base and then adapting and modifying it based on each student s needs. This was really helpful as when each of the students took their respective tests, they had a fighting chance. I administered the Cal. Alt. to some of my class, and while they didn t get all the answers correct, they got quite a few right. There was nothing more rewarding than seeing questions arise on a standardized test that you know your students have at least seen before and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. How Did Thomas Paine Attack The Monarchy By Thomas Paine In the primary document Thomas Paine Attacks The Monarchy it talks about how Thomas Paine attacked the monarchy by Common Sense. I feel as if this document really adds to what the textbook has to say about what Thomas Paine did to make him such an important person in history. It is always nice to get the perspective from people who were actually there. Thomas Paines pamphlet Common Sense is seen as one of the worlds most influential documentaries of all time. One of the reasons Common Sense was so popular was because unlike many writers from his time Paine used a lot of common sense arguments that average people could understand. Thomas Paine wrote the pamphlet Common Sense in 1775 and it was published in January of 1776. The main impact of this pamphlet is known as a way to help cause the American colonists to decide to fight for independence. Common Sense challenged the authority of the British government and the royal monarchy. So if Thomas Paine would have never wrote this the Americans may have never decided to fight for their independence. In this primary document Thomas Paine states how corrupt the relation between the colonists and Englandis, and how it needs to change. The mentally ill have become a stigma in our modern day society. When society hears the word mentally ill the unbidden thought of an unhinged man or woman walking down the street talking to themselves or yelling incoherently comes to mind. If they aren t stereotyped as insane, then the mentally ill are generally seen as awkward, violent, incompetent, or weird. Even without the negative stereotypes, there are some who consider mentally ill people a burden on society simply because they don t believe mental illnesses are actual diseases. For the people like myself who haven t had any interactions with the mentally ill, we get our information about mental illnessfrom mass media. The media is of no help to the mentally ill either, though the media may occasionally portray a mentally ill character as quirky or bighearted, they are usually portrayed as insane and coldhearted. The media unintentionally perpetuates the institutionalized fear of the mentally ill. If society is constantly associating metal illness with negative character traits, this can lead to fear and discrimination. Without the help of society backing them up, people with mental illnesses will ignore or disregard them, or not be given the treatment they need. International Differences Of Well Being As I continued my research, Ruut Veenhoven stated this question in Chapter 11 of the book International Differences of Well Being the discussions centers on whether happiness is similar for all humans or rather something that varies across cultures (328). This question interests me, because it is a question that I think is very important. We all have a wide range of different priorities and values. First, he chooses to define happiness: I use the word happiness for a subjective state of mind, which I define as the overall appreciation of one s life as a whole. Happiness is the sum of pleasures and pains . Happiness in this sense is synonymous with life satisfaction and subjective well being (Veenhoven 329). Veenhoven, then, breaks up the questions How universal is happiness into sub questions because it is too broad to answer. Veenhoven says that, although the mood is something we are aware of it is mostly not in the foreground of our consciousness. It is still assessable, and we can estimate how well we feel most of the time, unlike babies. Overall, Veenhoven finds that the circumstances of being happy seem to be the same across the world and so are the consequences of enjoying life or not (329). Veenhoven s use of surveys and statistics makes his research believable to his audience. He shows that being happy is not complicated, and most people know whether they are happy with life or not. • 22. The Negative Effects Of Media Multitasking And Its Effects... 1. The key issue which pertains to child development in this article is the negative effects which multitasking has on kids brains and their ability to store long term memories. Many children and teens have the overly inflated idea that they can attend to multiple things at once and still pay attention to homeworkor a teacher talking in class. Multitaskingin general is not harmful but when it comes to children multitasking while they are learning, it has the potential for the biggest negative effect (Paul, 2013). In Paul s (2013) article, there is research presented by the Kaiser Family Foundation which indicated that a third of the individuals who were surveyed stated that they used other media outlets at the same time as they were studying or doing homework. Media multitasking while learning has the most potential to have negative downsides because it is impairing the storing of the long term memories necessary to recall said information later. In other studies, researchers have recorded the large increase of negative effects which took place when children multitask while studying. The most important thing for parents to do is remember that their children will media multitask and it s okay. Just make sure that when it comes to homework that they put everything aside and focus on what s in front of them (Roberts, 2013). 2. He accomplishes this by eating the local food, being fluent in their language and by displaying a great knowledge of their culture. He also uses his musical talents to attract a larger audience to hear his message. He told the local Filipinos he could not afford a meal because the bulk of his paycheck went to supporting his family, much like the Filipinos themselves. He played to the cultural obligations of the Filipino people saying he had never met a Filipino who would not feed a hungry man. This comment prompted all of the villagers to volunteer to feed him. • 28. Reflection Of Odysseus Trying to decipher a person is a difficult task, perhaps impossible. We can, however, observe their actions, their experiences and their resemblance to other people to make some progress in comprehending them. Deciphering Odysseus is especially strenuous, for he is shown as a crafty liar who tricks others to get what he wants. Additionally, we cannot tell where the truths end and the lies begin. Consequently, we might not be able to wholly answer who Odysseusis but if we are to understand the Odyssey, we first have to understand Odysseus. Homer has constructed Odysseus as a complex character who is capable of molding himself into different forms to get the best out of his surroundings. Despite this complexity, Homer has given us enough clues to be able to recognize his actions. Of these clues, some are explicit and obvious, others are implied and can be deduced via his speeches and his acts. The explicit ones are easy, he is described to be, among other things, wise, kind and resourceful. The proofs of these can be seen numerous times in the text and thus be taken at face value. The real difficulty starts when we move past the explicit to the implicit. To grasp his nature, we have to observe the other roles in the book who share parts of his experiences, personalities or aims. Consider Telemachus. Despite the clear difference between his and Odysseus` stature, other people like Nestor and Menelaus have no trouble accepting him to be the son of Odysseus after hearing him ... • 35. Mathematics Competition At An Early Age With a strong desire to challenge myself and a thirst for innovation, I started participating in Olympic Mathematics Competition at an early age an area full of new ideas, challenging problems. Mathematics is said to be a male dominated area, nevertheless, I wanted to show that it is wrong. From elementary school to high school, I enjoyed my summers with intensive training on nationally renowned mathematical competitions. While the medals I earned in mathematic competitions have opened up doors for me in middle school, high school, and then college, the knowledge and experiences gained from years of unremitting dedication to the craft of problem solving has proven to be the most rewarding result. I became eager to explore my potential, and have no fear for failure. My talents and persistent effort enabled me to get full score in National Middle School Mathematics Olympiad and be the only junior high student in my school to win the first prize in National High School Olympiad. In the summer of 2011, I was selected to represent my province to take part in the Chinese Girl s Mathematical Olympiad (CGMO). The days being with girls from all around the world revolutionized my way of thinking. I was impressed by the elegant solutions provided by those girls from other countries and their enthusiasm towards perfection. This motivated me go abroad to study with those talented minds. • 36. The Professional Army As A Profession The Professional Army The term professional has always been loosely associated with the Army since its official organization in 1775. The title of Army professional in the past was restricted to only the officer ranks discarding Soldiers and the Non Commissioned Officers. The fluctuating opinions of the professional Army was mostly due to social definitions of a professional, and the Army s ability to meet its criteria. The Army is a profession because it requires specialized skills and human expertise, establishes ethical behavior for its members, and contain members who embrace and are stewards of the culture. The Army is a profession because it requires a collaboration of highly training Soldiers who possess specialized skills that combine to operate in complex situations in more complex environments. General Martin Dempsey stated that The Profession of Arms requires expert knowledge, and that expertise is manifested as unique skills in the individual professional and by Army units. For the purpose of this paper the operational definition of the term profession is: a type of job that requires special education training, or skill. It is tied into education needs, food, security; health issues both mental and physical, employment issues, etc. Don t forget the whole picture. ( Boxed In 2005 pg. 108) Throughout my research I found there is a real cry out for action on providing more affordable house not just locally but throughout the country. There needs to be more funding available to build more gear to income or subsidized housing and all levels of government need to take action. There are many people that are at risk of becoming homeless and some of the risks are; people with mental health issues, women leaving domestic violence, loss of income, addictions and death of person who was helping to financially support them. Families require stabilized housing that is affordable, safe and maintained. If they don t have stabile housing they are moving more often and this can effect the children s education when being moved from school to school. The parents are unable to focus on the other areas of their lives when they are unable to find decent housing. As a result of the housing boom from 2005 to 2008 this had caused prices of houses to increase around 30% within that time and I don t think that employment incomes went up that amount. This has caused hardship in many people s lives that have overextended themselves as well as made themselves house poor. Mama said the quilts had been made by her ancestors and she hung up on them on the quilt frames on the front porch and made them (762). The quilt frames symbolize the object which helps organize and keep the family s generations alive, and the front porch symbolizes the connection of the family with the world. Mama knew the quilts were what kept the generations together, regardless of what the people around thought or did.The quilts needed to be used in order to keep the family traditions alive. Soon after, the protagonist came up with an excuse and said the lavender [pieces], [came] from old clothes which had been handed down (762). The lavender symbolizes love and devotion. The old clothes symbolize the legacy of the family s heritage. Although Dee only wanted to the quilts, Mama felt her past family s love and devotion through the quilts. Dee wanted the quilts because to preserve them, not because of an emotional connection to them. In addition, the young woman continued to offend her mother to the point where Mama told her the quilts were for Maggie, the youngest sister, and Dee exclaimed how her sister could never appreciate the quilts. • 39. The Story Of Us By Deb Caletti The Story of Us is written by Deb Caletti and is a romance adventure book. It is set in a nice, expensive country living space. Caletti wrote this book in honor and memory of her and her little family of three s furry friend, Jupiter. 18 year old Cricket had loved her best friend, Janssen, for as many years as she had lived in their secluded living space. When Cricket was younger her parents got a divorce, forcing Cricket s mom, Cricket and her brother, Ben, out of the house and into something better for all of them. When they first moved away from all their family friends, it was a hard transition. They had never lived in the country and of course they never really heard any of the country animals (coyotes, wolves, hyenas, etc.) in person. The adjustment wasn t easy for the kids or for their mother, so they decided to get a puppy to keep them busy. They named this puppy Jupiter and loved her with their whole hearts. Janssen was the boy who lived up the road and was always over at their house. He and Cricket grew in their relationship when Cricket s dad became aware of her mother s successful life. While he was there he began to get very physical with Cricket s mom. Janssen stepped in, as a 17 year old, and very harshly said not to mess with this family or with him. After that Janssen and Cricket were inseparable. Their relationship grew as well as them. Time came for Cricket to graduate and the days were rough. The first stanza has eight lines and follows the rhyming scheme of A, B, A, B through out the poem. Owen uses this stanza as a tool to build up the story and is able to set the scene for the reader. Owen uses many similes in this poem and writes, Bent double, like old beggars under sacks, and Knock kneed, coughing like hags, we cursed through sludge . Owen uses a number of verbs as adjectives such as haunting flares and dropping flares… The second Stanza is six lines and it also has the rhyming scheme A, B, A, B, C, D. • 43. Reflection On Self Development Through Reflection Self development through reflection is a key issue of education and learning (Kennison, 2012), where you learn through experience (Tashiro, Shimpuku, Naruse and Matsutani, 2013), learn to self evaluate (Duffy, 2013), identify gaps in knowledge and detect where further training or study is required to improve practice (Olarerin, 2013). Ultimately reflection is thought to be constant learningfrom practice, thus refining knowledge and experiences and putting them into practice (Naidoo, 2013). Within my reflection examples (Appendix 1) I recognised where my knowledge and experience was lacking, through self evaluation. For instance when completing an electrocardiogram (ECG). I learned through my extra reading, how completing an ECG incorrectly could cause the patient to require un necessary treatment (Houghton, 2014). Through my extra study I was able to learn where exactly where the electrodes are positioned on the body for an accurate EGC tracing to be produced (Crawford and Doherty, 2012; University of Nottingham, 2015). I used this knowledge throughout my placement and I am now confident in conducting ECG s in my future practice. In achieving self development in this example I linked my learning directly to my practice (Ross, 2014), where I developed a fundamental skill and expanded my knowledge for my continued development in my nursing career and practice (Aronson, 2011). • 44. Limitations Of Body Weight Exercise Bodyweight training has been a popular form of exercise for decades, especially when it comes to group exercise classes and workout videos. It can certainly be an effective form of exercise, but bodyweight training programs are often designed without really considering the many different types of people who perform the workouts. Bodyweight exercises are typically assumed to be appropriate for everyone, but that is not exactly true. Since bodyweight exercises do not use external resistance (weights, bands, etc.), people usually do not think about them having a numerical difficulty or weight value. As a result, bodyweight exercises are thought of as essentially being one size fits all with a person s weight being the correct amount for the exercise. There is a major flaw with this way of thinking, because bodyweight exercises do have weight just like any other form of resistance training. The difference is that instead of holding or supporting an external weight, the resistance of each exercise is determined by a percentage of your bodyweight. Therefore, each exercise does have a numerical resistance/weight value, even though you will not know the exact amount when performing the exercise. The important thing to realize is every bodyweight exercise puts a specific amount of stress on your muscles and as with every other type of exercise, the difficulty of bodyweight exercises should appropriately match your ability level and your goals. If the difficulty of the exercise is not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The festival wasn t held in Woodstock to many people s disbelief because of lack of space there to hold an astounding 100 000 people. When analyzing the play from various critical perspectives, the reader can divulge into the various historical roots and gender roles that the author uses to promote his message and criticize the Victorian upper class. Perhaps the most overarching gender roles throughout the play are those associated with courting. Both Gwendolyn and Cecily are convinced that they could not be with someone who s name isn t Ernest. Gwendolyn tells Jack this in Act I. I have known several Jacks, and they all, without exception, were more than usually plain. The only really safe name is Ernest (Wilde 20). Cecily again reiterates a similar message to Algernon in Act III. You must not laugh at me, darling, but it had always been a girlish dream of mine to love someone whose name was Ernest. There is something in that name that seems to inspire absolute confidence. I pity any poor married woman whose husband is not called Ernest (Wilde 61). Both Gwendolyn and Cecily are convinced that Ernest is the optimal name for a partner due in large part to the qualities that society perceives from it. It is in this aspect of their attractiveness to the name that both characters reflect the gender roles of courting to satisfy society rather than themselves. They both like the name Ernest not because they themselves enjoy it but rather because they enjoy how society interprets it and how it makes them look. Men and women searched for an ideal relationship based on the expectations of a demanding society. If a man or woman did not possess the qualities desired by the Victorian society, the opposite sex may have dismissed the person as an unsuitable mate (Appell). Both men and women were expected to court those who fit society s expectations, not their own, and this gender role is present in the play. Another gender stereotype present is patriarchal authority and superiority. Throughout the Victorian Era, men were valued more than women. Photosynthesis is defined as the process by which green plants manufacture their food (organic compounds) making use of carbon dioxide and water in the presence of sunlight. It is also the synthesis of carbohydrate from sunlight, water and CO2 by the green plants. It is an endergonic and anabolic process. Bacteria show an oxygenic photosynthesis as they do not use water and do not evolve oxygen. Cyanobacteria (blue green algae) evolved oxygen first time in evolution as they show oxygenic photosynthesis. Photosynthesis is an endothermic reaction and it consists of a series of complex reactions. This reaction during photosynthesis is grouped into two stages called Light reaction and Dark reaction. This stage occurs during the day or in the presence of sunlight. The light energy or solar energy is captured by the chlorophyll and electrons are excited. The energy so trapped is used to split water into hydrogen ion (H+) and hydroxyl ion (H ). The splitting of water into hydrogen ion (H+) and hydroxyl ion (H ) is called photolysis of water. Water combines with carbon dioxide in the presence of sunlight within the chlorophyll of leaves to manufacture food (glucose) and oxygen is liberated as a by product. She helped raise money, gave impassioned speeches and took part in panels and interviews to further these causes. After her initial success she lived only six years and was able to complete only one more play, a movie and a television script which was too racially controversial to be aired. Her second play, The Sign in Sidney Brustein s Window, was received with mixed reviews and kept open for 101 performances only by the contributions and support of the theatre community. It closed the night she died at 34 from cancer. After her death Nemiroff finished and produced her final work, Les Blancs, a play about African liberation. Hansberry had begun to claim her identity as a lesbian in a 1957 letter to a lesbian periodical, The Ladder. This information and her 1964 divorce from Nemiroff was not widely known at the time of her death. In 1965 the Gay Liberation Movement did not exist and a woman could not claim such an identity without major reprisals. It was not until the 1980s that feminist scholars began connecting ... At children s invitation we can participate in their games, at their level and play along, suggesting new ideas and prompting for further ideas while continuing the same activity. We need to manage their routine such as the duration of play. We can assess their behaviours (emotional environment) also. We are a role model and hence our behaviour pattern can guide them to an acceptable level. We need to interact positively with children as they observe and learn to talk and act with warmth and respect towards others or develop patience. We need to sympathise, understand their point of view and avoid being judgemental of their actions and thoughts. It gives a feeling of importance and helps the child open up and share more information. We can provide additional support to children with slow motor skills and help them overcome frustration. For example, if they find writing difficult, a keyboard can be used to simplify the task. Or, motivate them to read by providing books that they like such as those of current super heroes. We help children to record what they have discovered or achieved in an activity (creating wall chart and displaying their work in that area where everyone can access it). • 59. King Lear Vs Quarto Essay King Lear was first printed in 1608. This initial printing is now referred to as the First Quarto. Another Quarto version was printed in 1619, and King Lear appeared again in a 1623 Folio edition. The First Quarto contains 300 lines not found in the Folio, and the Folio contains 100 lines not found in the First Quarto.
