Gospel Of Daniel
mysteries of grace, the deep things of the Gospel, made known to Gospel ministers; and
particularly the deep and hidden secret of the king s dream, and the version of it, revealed to
Daniel. The story begin with Daniel was being dragged into Babylon after he made a man of
lacking ability and we made to feel like Godhad forgotten all about him. The introduction and
conclusion agree with Daniel; the description of the man child, and the promises to Zion, with
Isaiah; the judgment of Babylon, with Jeremiah; again, the evolvement of times, with Daniel; the
architecture of the holy city, with Ezekiel; the signs of the horses and candlesticks. Thus
Zechariah spoke of the two olive trees; and so does St. John, but with a different meaning. Daniel
has a beast with ten horns; so has St. John. And here the difference of words, emblems, things,
times, ought carefully to be observed. Our Lord foretold many things before his passion; but not
all things, for it was not yet seasonable. Many things, likewise, his Spirit foretold, in the writings
of the apostles, so far as the necessities of those times required; now he comprises them all in one
short book, therein take for granted all the other prophecies, and at the same time... Show more

4:2 shows that God is sitting upon a throne. After John had seen the vision of Christ, in the midst
of the golden candlesticks, with seven stars in his right hand; after he was submitted to right
what he had seen, and what were, and should be hereafter; and after he had by order written the
seven letters to the seven churches, he looked about him to see what else he could, having his
desires and expectations raised of seeing more, and other things, for the eye is never satisfied
with seeing; though this is to be understood, not of looking with the eyes of his body, but with the
eyes of his mind; of his beholding things in a visionary way, as the prophets did, whence they are

Engstrom Auto Mirror Plant:
Motivating in Good Times and Bad
Milestone 3: Solutions Development
Solution
The Scanlon Plan can be used as a major catalyst to turnaround the plant by emphasizing more on
productivity. The more they work the faster they roll towards their bonuses; this magical spell is a
win win situation for both the employees and the management. The management can cruise steadily
over the wave of bonus motivated productivity and the employees can reap the benefits from the
high production rate in terms of bonuses. The plan can be redrawn and a slight change can be
made by making the entire plan revolve around the concept of productivity. When productivity

Individual productivity calculator can be devised to reward those who work more in order to keep
the parity issues from creeping in and at the same time providing growth and recognition to the
employees as mentioned in the Herzberg two factor model (Newstrom, 2015). This model can be
interpreted as a pioneering technique to motivate the team.
When the employees sweat out to reach the production targets, they give their best and the mind set
or the attitude of the employees towards the organization changes. The management should set up
monthly workshops to interact with their employees, thus making the employees feel that the
management is well within their reach and is ready to listen to their pleas. Organizing such
workshops will stimulate the feedback process which will help the management to cut down on
production and sales costs in turn maximising the returns (Arnolds amp; Boshoff, 2002).
Organizing technical trips and field tours further improves the management employee relationship
as this allows the two parties to work together in a different environment and gain better ideas. The
concepts of the ERG (existence, relatedness, growth) Model can be applied by recognizing
individual employees who attain the highest productivity and then rewarding them with various
benefits such as growth. Growth is what employees look for in any organization as the more

Boy by Roald Dahl
Roald Dahl uses humour in children books he writes to manipulate the reader s perception of
events that occur in the books. The book, Boy is an autobiography written by Roald Dahl. It was
his first book and it is a combination of real events in his life. Matilda is one of his fictional
books that he wrote later on. Dahl uses events that are actually gruesome and quite horrifying
and makes them humorous by using sarcasm, hyperboles, short sentences, imagery, similes and
juxtapositions (rose96, 2011). Dahl uses a lot of adjectives to describe the characters in his
books to portray them in a humorous way. He uses figures of speech to describe a character and
to make this character unique. Chapter 3, The bicycle and the sweet shop in Boy is a perfect
example of how Dahl describes the characters in his book. This chapter is about Boy and his
friends who absolutely loves the sweet shop. In this chapter het describes the sweet shops
importance as ...the very centre of our lives. (Dahl, 1984:33). The only bad thing about this sweet
shop was the lady who owned it, Mrs Pratchett. He describes her as a small skinny old hag with a
moustache on her upper lip and a mouth as sour as a green gooseberry. (Dahl, 1984:33). Dahl uses
a simile to describe her mouth and compares it to a green gooseberry. Dahl then starts to describe
how dirty she is. Her apron was grey and greasy. (Dahl, 1984:33). Here we see some alliteration of
the words grey and greasy. He goes on describing how she

The Importance Of Assisted Suicide In The Suicide Tourist
I totally agree with Craig s choice to die at Dignitas because as his wife mentioned in the movie
that she had lost him six months before. He was present physically but the life within him was
already lost. Also, if we think about it, Craig was lucky to have a loving family and a supporting
wife by his side through his journey. He also had money to cover the cost of his voluntary suicideas
well as his funeral. Everyone is not as lucky as Craig. In the U.S, it is difficult to have good
health even with insurance coverage. As we watched the couples in Michael Moore s movie
husband had multiple heart attack and wife had gone through chemotherapy although they were
covered by the insurance they were left homeless with all the medical bills. In Suicide Tourist,
Craig knew what was the outcome of his disease. His health was only going to get worse from
where he was.
We saw a hint of such legalization during Dr. Deaths era in the 1990s. Dignitas in a way is
replicated after Dr. Kevorkian. The steps for voluntary suicide in The Suicide Tourist were
pretty much parallel to how Dr. Kevorkian carried out his plan. In the US, legalization of
facilities like Dignitas will be opposed because our society is highly conservative. In a country
where marriage between same sex is highly opposed, there is a small chance for the allowance of
assisted suicide. Religious people may believe that life is God s gift and we as human beings do not
have any right to take it away. However, I

Essay on The Lost Roanoke Colony
Jamestown is thought by most of our general population to be the first colony in the New World.
This is only half true. Jamestown is considered our first successful colony, however it was not
our first attempt at a colony. There were a few attempts to colonize the New World before
Jamestown and one in particular that is found to be interesting is Roanoke also known as the Lost
Colony. It received this name due to the fact that the colonists that settled this colony disappeared
very mysteriously. This poses the question of What happened to the people of Roanoke? There are
many different viewpoints of what occurred to the colonists and the goal here is to address each
one of them. In England, a document signed on January 7, 1587, created... Show more content on

After about a month of unloading, Fernandes decided time was drawing near for his departure
from the New World. With his departure imminent, the colony faced a dilemma. White and his
assistants all agreed that one of them needed to go back to England to secure additional supplies
for the colony. The one chosen to go was John White. On August 27, 1587, White set sail for
England in the smaller of the ships with a crew of about fifteen men. His journey was a
treacherous one due to an accident at sea that injured twelve of his crew of fifteen , virtually
disabling the ship. However, thought to be a perilous journey, White finally arrived with news of
the city of Raleigh. But there would not be a return voyage in six months as expected. Spain had
put together a mighty fleet of ships called the Spanish Armada. This caused Queen Elizabeth to
order all English ships discontinue normal business and join the effort to fight off the Spanish
fleet. Due to this and other mishaps, White did not get back to the city of Raleigh until August of
1597 which was three years later. Coincidentally, the colonist of Raleigh were gone just as the
colonist of Greenville that were left before them. There are many different possibilities that may
have occurred. It is one of the greatest mysteries with various view points. One thing all mysteries

The First English Dictionary By Samuel Johnson
Lexicography is a historic practice which has existed for centuries. It is the practice and process
of binding an entire lexicon into a single, readable text. This is a formidable task to undertake.
The original definition of lexicon is as follows: A dictionary; a book teaching the signification of
words (Johnson, 233). The public uses dictionaries as guidebooks for meaningful speech and
discourse. Those who task themselves with creating these texts are called lexicographers. The first
English dictionarywas written by Samuel Johnson in 1755. Johnson shared his views of
lexicographers in his preface to A Dictionary of the English Language :
Among these unhappy mortals is the writer of dictionaries; whom mankind have considered, not
as the pupil, but the slave of science, the pioneer of literature, doomed only to remove rubbish and
clear obstructions from the path of Learning and Genius, who press forward to conquest and glory,
without bestowing a smile on the humble drudge that facilitates their progress. Every other authour
may aspire to praise; the lexicographer can only hope to escape reproach, and even this negative
recompense has been yet granted to very few (Johnson, 3).
Johnson s somewhat dismal description of the pains lexicographers must undergo is very telling of
the innate stress and responsibility of dictionary making. They are held accountable for the
definitions and usage rules of an entire language; this is a respectable undertaking. The process of

My Experience At World Cafe Live
For my second venue visit, I went to The Trocadero in Philadelphia, PA. This ended up much
less hectic than my first experience at World Cafe Live. From the start, I decided to implement
one of the main lessons I learned from my first visit, so I left my house with ample time to get to
the venue, and accidentally arrived before the front of house engineer did. Luckily, there were a
few assistant engineers there, and they let me in. One was an intern named Kyle from The Art
Institutes of Philadelphia. The other was a guy that went by the name Badge. I later found out the
he was the monitor engineer. Shortly after, Joe, the front of house engineer, showed up. They were

I had never encountered the PG81 or the SM137 before that, to my knowledge, so I was nice to

who was placed on a riser upstage, stage right. I actually got to help patch that. We took the
stereo outs, XLR, of his controller directly into the main patch. I am assuming that Joe meant the
main snake when he said that. I gave him the cables and he took them under the stage, so I did
not actually get to see where the other side was patched in. I followed him around while he
finished setting things up on stage. There were for keyboards total. They were all patched as
mono into different DI boxes. I asked him why mono instead of stereo, and he said that usually
he would do stereo. However, in this case it was easier to do mono sends since keyboards would
be changing position on the stage throughout the night. During this time he gave me the advice he
says he gives everyone just coming into the business. Safety first. He told me that I did not want a
sandbag to fall on someone, and to trust him on that. In addition, the band had a bass player, a

Isabel Allende, The Goddaughter Of Salvador Allende

Title Isabel Allende was born on August 2, 1942, in Lima, Peru, to TomГ

Isabel Allende is the goddaughter of Salvador Allende, the first socialist president of Chile who
was her father s cousin. Allende s father was a diplomat and deserted the family when Allende was
just two years. Allende, her siblings, and mother then moved in with her grandfather in Chile.
Allende remembers herself as a rebellious child during those years living with her grandfather. We

This perseverance could be related to Allende s perseverance in life such as becoming a
journalist and author. Throughout the three Fortunato generations, there was the desired result
of a successful circus. The first Fortunato persevered through times of catastrophe and turmoil
(105) and for years Horacio s grandfather bore the sole responsibility for the spectacle (105). His
desire to save and maintain his circus came to the point where he had to perform almost all of
the acts. However, he managed somehow to survive bad times while many other circuses
succumbed and were thus obliterated(106). The first Fortunato s desire to keep his circus buoyant
left him to persevere through all the hard time and come out stronger. The first Fortunato s son,
Fortunato II, was left a debt free enterprise. He too persevered with an unshakable prudence and
under his direction the circus grew in size and prestige until it was the largest in the nation.
(105) He made it so that the enormous caravan no longer drifted aimlessly, as it had in his father
s day, but steamed purposefully (106). The second Fortunato was able to make the circus a
greater success. His father before him allowed him to do so through his perseverance and thus
created a new, higher goal for his son to reach. Horacio, the third Fortunato, intended to be rich
from the time he was a young boy (108). His goal was predetermined and he eventually lived a
good life.

Social Learning Theory And Social Theory
There are many theories in the field of criminology that seek to explain the reasons behind why
people commit crimes. Social process theory is one such theory and asserts that criminal behavior
is learned through interactions with others (Schmalleger, 2012). There are four types of social
process theories including: social learning theory, social control theory, labeling theory, and
dramaturgical perspective. This paper will explore two of the theories including social learning
theory and social control theory. The paper will discuss social process theory and the history of its
development, the theory s importance to criminology, examples of the theory, and any positives or
negatives associated with the theory.
Theory and the History of its Development
Social Learning Theory
Social Learning Theory is the process that occurs through observing the consequences of others and
by determining if such behavior is worth replicating (Wallace, n.d.) Basically this theory suggests
that humans learn by watching others. Social Learning Theory was developed in the 1930 s by
Theorists, Edwin Sutherland, Robert Burgess, Ronald L. Akers, and Daniel Glaser. These theorists
developed the learning theory by recognizing patterns of criminal behaviors and the types of values
that went along with criminals, the way they lived and communicated which they called differential
association (Schmalleger, 2012.) Another theorist that has helped in the development of theory is

It is in this context that the film One Flew Over the Cuckoo s Nest is identified as a possible
medium to investigate the nature and effect of a psychiatric system as accurately portrayed through
this particular film, The film depicts the psychiatric system as rigid, leaving patients with little
room to express their individuality. The effect of the staff members behaviour on the patient s
psychotherapeutic growth, highlights the staff s ignorance and lack of knowingness of their
individual responsibility, contributing to the psychopathology of not only the patients , but also the
system as a whole. The interactional style of the psychiatric staff, as portrayed in the film, serves to
contribute to the deterioration of the mental and psychological well being of the patients , thus
inhibiting their psychological growth. The majority of One Flew over the Cuckoo s Nest takes
place in the Day Room of the hospital. The setting adds to the feeling of confinement, with the men
often resorting to playing games of chess or resorting to cards to pass their time. The space of the
institution itself is characterised by an obsession with routines, and adherence to control and

World War Two Essay example
World War Two
On June 18, 1812, President Madison of the United States and Congress declared war on Great
Britain. On June 25, the French emperor, Napoleon Bonaparte led his army in Europe across the
Nieman River into Russia.(1) Although these two events were thousands of kilometers apart they
were directly connected to each other. To some extent, the Americans declared war in protest
against measures that were part of Britain s effort to defeat Napoleon with the use of blockades.
There are many interesting aspects to the War of 1812, including the fact of why it even happened.

The Twelve Congress, which received Madison s war message proved to be dominated by a group
of young men known as the War Hawks .(5) These men were chiefly from the west and south who
resented the injuries inflicted on the United States by Great Britain during the War for
Independence, and were seeking retribution.(6) Like many other Americans, they believed the
manifest destiny of the United States was to control all of British North America.
This American dream of major conquest of North America was made clear in a speech given by
Congressman Richard Johnston of Kentucky I shall never die contented until I see her [Britain]
expulsion from North America, and her territories incorporated with United States. (7) Mr. Felix
Grundy concurred with Mr. Johnston by stating I am willing to receive the Canadians as adopted
brethren;... I therefore feel anxious not only to add the Floridas to the south but the Canadas to
the north of this Empire... (8) America now had their major objective for the war and despite
objections by New England and New York, war was declared by a slim margin on June 18,1812.
Logically this war was a serious threat to Canada, since it was only in North America that the U.S.
could hope to defeat the British. Geographically, the struggle

Flatland Social Structure
The social structure of Flatland is similar to the structure of the 1800s, when Abbott wrote the
book. The males in Flatland are shapes composed of multiple sides, while the females are only
straight lines. The greater number of sides each figure has, the higher their status is. This concept is
quite similar to this time in Britian, where social casts and classes were relevant. Another common
theme in Flatlandand in the 1800s is that members of the classes wanted to rank up and become
something greater. Flatland is written in first person, by A Square. This gives the overall novel a
tone of closeness. We are hearing the events from a source that experienced and witnessed the
events contained in the novel, which gives readers a better understanding of what happened. A
Square is somewhere in the middle of the class ranks. He s not a member of the lowest or highest
social classes. This helps him to understand all the different viewpoints and perspectives in
Flatland. By being in the middle class, he isn t too biased towards one side or the other.
The social issues and classes are obviously one of the main themes of the novel, but it is necessary
to note the importance of the two dimensional essence of Flatland. Throughout the book, Abbott
describes the implications of being ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Secondary effects like fire; blockage on services such as water supply, electricity and transportation;
and communication disruption are sometimes even more disastrous. Manmade infrastructures are
however the major contributor of casualties during earthquake devastations. These structures
therefore should be carefully designed and constructed.
For examples, the improper placement of partition wall, chimney, staircase, and how water supply,
electrical systems are arranged, are responsible for killing people and in facilitating structural
damage to property.
2.2 Reason for Buildings Failure during Earthquake
Vertical and horizontal shaking from earthquakes and inertia of buildings that causes frequent
changes in building s weight, and the use of poor quality materials and massive structures are some
of the reasons for building failures. Greater the mass of building, more lateral force is exerted on
buildings, and this alone is the major component behind building damages. When there are no
strong joint components like walls, beam, column, roofs, slabs, in buildings, the buildings move
independently on their own direction, and velocity of their movements are dictated by the buildings
weight and orientation, and all these result in separation of a building. The separation of building
components and failure to support designed force is actually a building failure.

Odysseus, An Egotistical Cretin
Odysseus tells Athena, whom he believes is a shepherd, a false account, of how he came to Ithaca,
primarily since he needs to keep his identity a secret, familiarize himself with the situation on
Ithaca and formulate a plan to execute the suitors. He perceives that he has arrived in a mist
shrouded and unknown land. And thus secondarily, he needs to present a feasible reason for being
alone and stranded with copious amounts of treasure for safety reasons as well as to allay suspicion
in relation to his identity. Athenaaffects how he tells his lie because he can see and listen to her. To
manipulate her more effectively, Odysseusexploits these factors to produce a story specifically
tailored to the information Athena provides.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hence, this absence of kleos portrays Odysseus as calculating, merciless and dishonorable. This
would warn the shepherd not to try to steal from Odysseus as Orsilokhos attempted because
Odysseus does not care for glory and will slaughter him in any way he can whether or not it
damages his reputation. The images evoked from Troy, all I had fought and bled for , serve to
somewhat justify his murder of Orsilokhos and show some appreciation for honest work, when it
serves him, and could function to make the shepherd feel less fear towards a murderous foreigner.
Mostly, this information gives the shepherd a distinct warning not to attempt to harm or steal from
him because not only is he a hardened warrior who survived a ten year war at Troy, but he has
already murdered royalty, dishonorably, in his own homeland for trying to take his hard earned
possessions. Obviously, he would have no qualms about killing a shepherd in a different country for
attempting the same.
Odysseus also mentions that he was not subservient to Idomeneus at Troy. He even led a command
of men not under Idomeneus, which would be skirting on treason. Though it was not admirable to
disregard duty, it allowed Odysseus a unit of men who would presumably die for him and could
potentially be used to overthrow Idomeneus

Evaluation Of A Research Topic Using Various Scientific...
Reflection: Action Research There are many ways to approach on solving a research topic using
various scientific methods. Research methods are mainly use in decision making that guide the
researchers to develop and test out their hypothesis to their study. Action research is a type of
applied research that uses systemic approach to evaluate and observe countless solutions to a
problem. Action researchis most likely to be used in educational setting, where educators to find and
use applicable information to solve and improve an issue in a collaborative setting (Creswell, 2005).
Action research is unique since it can be done in collaboration with educators with similar goal and
mind set. Action research uses mixed method study where it includes both qualitative and
quantitative data. The usage of systemic approach along with scientific methodit enables researchers
to gather unbiased information during data gather and decision making.
Action research is unlike most research method where it conducted in spiraling cycle. Action
research study is done in four different stages; planning, acting, developing and reflecting. This
method is done in a cyclical process unlike most linear studies. This method allows researchers to
evaluate, observe and reflect that data until a plan is developed with an achievable goal that they
have in place ( Mertler 2006). There are two types of action research design a practical one and a
participatory one. A practical action research

Global Automotive Industry- Porter s 5 Forces
Porter s Five Forces Analysis
Michael Porter identified five forces that influence an industry. These forces are: (1) degree of
rivalry; (2) threat of substitutes; (3) barriers to entry; (4) buyer power; and (5) supplier power. For
more on this framework proposed by Porter, please see Appendix C. Like other industries operating
under free market, capitalistic systems, viewing the automotive industry through the lens of Porter
s Five Forces can be helpful in understanding the forces at play.
Degree of Rivalry
Despite the high concentration ratios seen in the U.S. market, which typically signify that a lesser
degree of competition is seen in the industry, rivalry in the U.S. and the global automotive industry

The exception to this statement occurs in the global urban areas with high population densities. In
these areas, the substitutes available (e.g., walking, mass transit, bicycles, etc.) can be less costly
than automobiles and thus alternative modes of transportation are often preferred.
Also, there are inherent underlying social and cultural attitudes that keep people from owning
automobiles in some parts of the world. Many nations are not as spread out or as mobile as the
U.S.; they are constrained either by geography, race, class, or religion and the need for personal
transportation is not as great, yet. The American dream of a car [or two] in every garage is not
what the rest of the world currently wants or needs. However, the marketing arms of the global
automotive manufacturers are certainly working very hard to change this paradigm, and with
unprecedented production volumes world wide, all signs indicate that they are succeeding. Most

Naturally Occurring Radiation
Uranium:
1: Where is this substance most likely found, and how abundant is it?
Uranium can be found in a lot of places in small quantities such as rocks, soil, and water. However,
its harder to find uranium in amounts that are worth the trouble.
2: What type of decay does this substance undergo, and how harmful can it be to those exposed?
Naturally forming uranium undergoes radioactive decay by emission of an alpha particle and
gamma radiation. As the decay continues, it releases radiation. This is an extreme health issue that,
in large amounts, can cause cancer and liver damage.
3: What can be done to protect against the radiation produced by this isotope?
To avoid harmful uranium, people ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Is it used in the medical, industrial, scientific, or other fields?
Uranium can be used to produce nuclear energy, it s renewable, and it means less pollution which in
turn helps the environment.
Radiation Used by Humans and Technology
The use of iodine 131 in the medical field
1:What careers or fields use this type of radiation, and why is it used?
Doctors use Iodine 131. Iodine 131 can be used to treat someone with hyperthyroidism. It can also
be used to treat thyroid cancer. It can also be used as a type of medical imaging.
2:What are the benefits and risks associated with using this material, and how common is its use?
This material is used quite frequently as it can heal sick people. There are a few risks, but it s
mostly little things. A sore throat feeling can be a side effect.
However, there can be some more serious ramifications such as a loss of the thyroid gland all
together.

Strengths Of Labeling Theory

criminal commits illegal acts. The labeling theorycontains simple logical that any one can
understand. Labeling theory is known to being simple and into the point. According to the book
Sociology: An Interactive Approach
At its most basic, labeling theory involves a number of fairly simple ideas: (1) Deviance (and
crime) have to be witnessed by others. (2) Certain perceptions of the act have to be made. (3) It has

The societal reaction of an individual s behavior leads to that individual becoming the criminal
that everyone labels him or her as. Labeling theorists argue that labeling theory can be applied to
any type of individual and to any crime. But, with every theory comes weaknesses. The theory has
lacked the explanation on why individuals first start to act deviant and they lack considering other
factors that can influence someone to commit a crime. However, even with these lacks of
explanation labeling theorists argue that the labeling theory have been timeless and can explain any
type of situation. Labeling theorist also recommend ways to improve on the policy of the theory.
The recommendations that were mentioned explain on how not only the government, but also
society as a whole can improve on the rate of crimes. All things considered, what you as the reader
should remember is that the most vital aspect of changing criminal behavior is society (yes, that
includes the person this paper too). Take this paper into consideration when thinking about the
following question: Are individuals born with criminal behavior? Or do we, as a society, make

Arius On The Status Of Christ-Theoristic
4.7 Arius (c.250 c.336) on the status of Christ Patristic
Arius disagrees with the incarnation of God. Arius insists that God is unchangeable.
Because the Father is regarded as existing before the Son, Arius believes that the Son is a creature.
Arius did rank the Son differently out of all other creatures. Arius regards the Son by saying, a
perfect creature, yet not as one among other creature; a begotten being, yet not as one among other
begotten beings. It is said that, the consequences of this viewpoint were critiqued by many at the
time, and also that his views were known, through the writings of his opponents.

father, did not alter the fact that the birth of Jesus was truly of the flesh just like that of all other

became man which effected our salvation through humanity, it was the whole man. In this passage,
Torrance shows the representation of a leading western theological to evaluate and appropriate the

Erikson’s Psychosocial Theory of Development Report
The psychosocial theory of development was formulised by the German psychoanalyst Erik
Erikson. His theory considers the impact of external factors, parents, and the society, on personality
development from childhood to adulthood (Candida, 2010, p. 51). According to Erikson s theory,
every person must pass through a series of eight interconnected stages (split into general age
ranges) over their entire life cycle.
In this assignment, I will discuss these eight stages of development and how Erikson s theory is
similar to my own life. Furthermore, I will address how defining moments in the first stages
influenced my adolescence and identity. The first of Erikson s eight stages of development is
infancy (0 to 12 months). During this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During this stage, teenagers feel they need to develop a sense of personal identity. Success in this
leads to an ability to stay true to who they are, while failure results in role confusion and weak
sense of their role in the world (AllPsych, 2009, В¶ 6).
During the first part of my adolescence, I was extremely shy with a very low self esteem. Even
though I had moved schools since the last stage, I still felt as though I didn t fit in or have many
true friends. I found it really tough to find my identity and went through the first three years
depressed. I believe that it was the events that I experienced in the previous stage which influenced
that person I was during the first few years of adolescence.
It was only in the last couple years of high school when I became more confident in myself and
who I was. I achieved a sense of identity by developing close relationships with the young adults at
my church.
The next stage of Erikson s theory is young adulthood (18 to 35 years). Once we enter into this
stage we start to search for someone we can begin to share ourselves with more intimately.
However, if this does not happen, isolation and distance from others may occur (AllPsych, 2009,
В¶ 7).
I am currently less than two months away from turning 18 and am therefore just entering into this
stage of life. Currently, I am in a relationship with a guy from my young adults group at church
named Daniel. We have dating for a

Health Care Trends and Perceptions Regarding the Insurance...
Health Care
Determine what correlations can be made regarding the increase in population and the public
perception of the health insurance system. Be sure to present your thoughts in a credible manner
that is non offensive yet factual.
The population has been steadily increasing in the United States since its founding. For a long
period the US led the industrialized world in its fertility rate however, though this rate has slowed in
recent generations with Americans having few babies per household, immigration into the US has
become one of the main drivers of the expanding population (Wang, 2013). Furthermore, the
population is also steadily aging and therefore often requires more in terms of health care services.
All of these factors contribute to a trend in which health care accessibility is becoming more and
more limited in all types of coverage s. For example, those who have private health insurance may
be faced with higher out of pocket costs and limited services to attempt to control costs while those
without private insurance could be potentially excluded from service all together. One study found
that in 2007 nearly two thirds of all bankruptcies were related to medical expenses; a trend that has
been rapidly increasing since the turn of the century (McCarthy, 2009). It is reasonable to believe
that such trends correlate to a negative perception of the health insurance system.
Consider the health trends in the U.S. over the last two decades and make some

Explanation and History John Holland was a remarkable psychologist that took special interest

expressed that personality and career interests work together somehow (Nauta, 2010). The John

compared to poor neighborhoods, they are drastically distinctive. Most families who have great

may be filled with clutter, and the families inside these homes may express different wants than
the opposite class. Unfortunately, wealthy and poor people both fall under a stereotype. The rich
are looked upon as snobby and prude, while the poor are seen as lacking intelligence or they could

Punishment And Punishment Summary
Introduction
In the book Discipline and Punish, Foucault illustrates the history of the modern penal system,
while at the same time seeking to analyze punishment as a social aspect. Also, the book covers the
effects of power dynamics on the penalty. The book begins with an analysis of the historical
situations before the 18th Century when the primary forms of punishment administration were
public execution and corporal punishment. Investigations regarding criminal offenses were mainly
carried out through torture (Crisp, 2003). The penalties were ceremonial and directed towards the
body of the prisoner; the audience was necessary during the ritual. The public executions were
considered to the kingdom as they established the authority and power of the king. During the 18th
Century, there were many agitations for reforms on punishments. The reformists got the
motivations from the need for the considerations of the prisoner s welfare. Foucault and other
people thought that the system was not taking care of the well being, and hence there was a need
to make operations of power more efficient. The agitations led to the proposal of a theater of
punishment where a complex system of representations was publicly displayed. The sentences were
related to the crimes and hence discouraged people from lawbreaking.
An Overview of Foucault s Approaches
Foucault s approaches to punishment followed three significant ideas including the spectacle of the
scaffold; generalized punishment; and panopticism. The following is an overview of the three
ideologies.
The spectacle of scaffold
Despite the fact that the French penal ordinance set out very harsh penalties against punishment,
there was still a gap between theory and the punitive practice (Foucault, The spectacle of the
scaffold, 2008). The exercise of torture and public execution were no longer frequently
administered as forms of punishment. However, use of torture as a considerable part of penalty still

A Glimpse Inside Alcoholics Anonymous
A Glimpse Inside Alcoholics Anonymous
Animated in the spirit of Jesus Christ, we value all individuals unique talents, respect their dignity,
and strive to foster their commitment to excellence in our work. Our community s strength depends
on the unity and diversity of our people, on the free exchange of ideas, and on learning, living, and
working harmoniously (Saint Leo University Core Values, Respect).
Introduction. I decided I wanted to visit an Alcoholics Anonymousgroup meeting in my local area.
It would be a new experience for me because I have never been to that type of meeting before in
my life. I had only heard of A.A. and the support groups they offer throughout the world. They
offer meetings in every state of the United States, Canada, Mexico, and in some International
countries (United States Alcoholics Anonymous). The meeting I attended consisted of about
forty three people, both men and women. The only type of meeting I had ever been to in my life
was either church related or business related. I chose to go to this type of meeting for three
reasons; I wanted to get out of my comfort zone, I have never been around anyone with substance
abuse, and I wanted to see the other side of the spectrum to gain some insights from a different
perspective. I am in Human Services for the purpose of helping others in need. I can better help
people if I become knowledgeable in the areas where they need help the most. I grew up in church
my whole life and was raised in a

Let The Right One Is A Stage Adaptation By Jack Thorne
On October 1, 2016, I attended a production of Let the Right One In at The University of
Oklahoma in the Weiztenhoffer Theater. Let the Right One in is a stage adaptation by Jack
Thorne based on the Swedish novel Marla Rubin Productions Ltd. and it was directed by Tom
Huston Orr as a fall main stage production for the university (University Theatre Program). Let
the Right One In was captivating and occupied the space with great power. Immediately once the
show began, I noticed the forwarding aspect of the overlapping scenes to help bring momentum
to the production. The specific reference I am making is to the introduction of the character
Oskar, who was played by Sam Pinson, coupled with Hakan s first murder. Hakan was played by
Weston Vrooman and his first victim in the production is Torkel who was portrayed by Austin
Reid. The overlapping of their two scenes set up a fast pace that added to some of the suspense
the show itself calls for in its mood. I really enjoyed this directing choice to have the bar placed
for high energy and pace right as the show began. Another aspect that I thought worked well for
this production was the casting choice of Sam Pinson for Oskar. The reason I mention this is
because Sam is not what I would expect in the casting of a young teenage boy. He is tall and not
the typical type for that role. I had been skeptical of this decision because of how Sam is not visibly
close to a child in the least, but Sam portrayed the role in a way that was

The Landing Gear For Aircraft
The final portion of an aircraft to be created is the landing gear. Before this can be done, all of
the other major pieces of the aircraft must be completed. These parts include the propulsion
system, the tail, the wing, and the fuselage (Malev Virtual Training Division, 2005). Before the
landing gear is designed, the stability of the aircraft must be proven, by establishing its center of
gravity (Federal Aviation Administration, 2014). In a few circumstances, the structure of the
aircraft my need to be changed by the designer in order to accommodate the landing gear. The
main roles of the landing gear include stability of the aircraft during taxi and on the ground,
loading, and unloading. The landing gear allows the aircraft to move and maneuver freely during
taxing. The landing gear also separates main components of the aircraft like the fuselage and the
wing while the aircraft is on the ground (Federal Aviation Administration, 2014). This is intended to
keep the aircraft from contacting the ground which could cause damage. Additionally, the landing
gear absorbs impact as a shock during and aircraft s landing operation. Finally, the landing gear
assists in the take off of the aircraft by providing acceleration and rotation with the least amount of
friction possible (Federal Aviation Administration, 2014). Features of the landing gear designed for
the Boeing 737will be discussed in order to give a more informative depiction of how a landing gear
system works.

Essay on The Devils Highway
Jose Valdivia
The Devils Highway
Valdivia 1
Have you ever wonder why they built borders? Or who built them? Or who prevents and controls
illegals from crossing, and what they do to accomplish them from crossing? In the book, The
Devils Highway, by Luis Alberto Urrea defines the effects the deserthas to offer for the immigrant
s entrance. The Devils High Way is a measureless desert past Mexico and Sonora, which is one of
the most isolated and driest deserts in the U.S. This is a desert which few ... Show more content on

If it was the Border Patrol s job to Valdivia 2 apprehend lawbreakers, it was equally their duty to
save the lost and the dying (Urrea 18). The Border Patrol is the antagonist for the immigrants
because when they get caught they send them back to where they came from. Now they had a
choice. Cross the road and stagger along the front range of the mountains, or stay on the road and
hope the border patrol would find them (Urrea 14). Throughout the story some Mexicans were
wishing to get caught by the border patrol yes their enemy. Vigilantegroups are also trying to
control illegals entering the United States. Vigilantes don t really care if the walkers make it to
their destination safely or if they die along their journey through the desert. Toxic materials
appear in jugs that look like drinking water. Humane Borders water stations vandalized the three
hundred gallon tanks broken open so they run dry, Small groups of Mexicans are found tied and
shot in the head (Urrea 214) which is saying that interpreters in Arizona are very honest. These
are just some examples of what and who tries to prevent immigrants from crossing over. Some do
successfully cross over. Many Mexicans come for the search of a better life for their kids and
family whether its to send them to school or supplies and uniform. Whatever the

Relationship Between Religion And Religion
The Relationship Between Religion and Science
Today, we are living in the time in which every aspect of life is influenced by some form of
science. From the scientific revolution of the 17th century through present day, scientists have
grown continuously. The impact of science is particularly powerful on traditional religious beliefs.
Religion is the belief in the supernatural, the invisible, the sacred, the visually receptive, and the
illogical. The belief is many fold, depending on the historical period, geography, culture, and
dependent on the content of each religion. It is operated by many rituals depending on the different
religious community. From the Latin religion meaning respect for the sacred, divine reverence or
duty, the link between man and the divine, people would live and survive these ways with the
beliefs of the supernatural powers in which would help people, sometimes synonymous with belief,
often defined as spirituality to believe in the supernatural, the sacred or the divine, as well as the
ethics, rituals, customs, and institutions associated with these beliefs. Basic notions of religion
divide the world into two parts: divine and mundane. Tranquility is normal in human life, and the
divine is supernatural. In the face of the divine, people use rituals to show respect and worship
and that is the basis of religion. In the most general sense, there is a view that defines religion as
the result of all the answers to explain the origin and

Gospel Of Daniel mysteries of grace, the deep things of the Gospel, made known to Gospel ministers; and particularly the deep and hidden secret of the king s dream, and the version of it, revealed to Daniel. The story begin with Daniel was being dragged into Babylon after he made a man of lacking ability and we made to feel like Godhad forgotten all about him. The introduction and conclusion agree with Daniel; the description of the man child, and the promises to Zion, with Isaiah; the judgment of Babylon, with Jeremiah; again, the evolvement of times, with Daniel; the architecture of the holy city, with Ezekiel; the signs of the horses and candlesticks. Thus Zechariah spoke of the two olive trees; and so does St. John, but with a different meaning. Daniel has a beast with ten horns; so has St. John. And here the difference of words, emblems, things, times, ought carefully to be observed. Our Lord foretold many things before his passion; but not all things, for it was not yet seasonable. When the employees sweat out to reach the production targets, they give their best and the mind set or the attitude of the employees towards the organization changes. The management should set up monthly workshops to interact with their employees, thus making the employees feel that the management is well within their reach and is ready to listen to their pleas. Organizing such workshops will stimulate the feedback process which will help the management to cut down on production and sales costs in turn maximising the returns (Arnolds amp; Boshoff, 2002). • 6. Boy by Roald Dahl Roald Dahl uses humour in children books he writes to manipulate the reader s perception of events that occur in the books. The book, Boy is an autobiography written by Roald Dahl. It was his first book and it is a combination of real events in his life. Matilda is one of his fictional books that he wrote later on. Dahl uses events that are actually gruesome and quite horrifying and makes them humorous by using sarcasm, hyperboles, short sentences, imagery, similes and juxtapositions (rose96, 2011). Dahl uses a lot of adjectives to describe the characters in his books to portray them in a humorous way. He uses figures of speech to describe a character and to make this character unique. Chapter 3, The bicycle and the sweet shop in Boy is a perfect example of how Dahl describes the characters in his book. This chapter is about Boy and his friends who absolutely loves the sweet shop. In this chapter het describes the sweet shops importance as ...the very centre of our lives. (Dahl, 1984:33). The only bad thing about this sweet shop was the lady who owned it, Mrs Pratchett. He describes her as a small skinny old hag with a moustache on her upper lip and a mouth as sour as a green gooseberry. (Dahl, 1984:33). Dahl uses a simile to describe her mouth and compares it to a green gooseberry. Dahl then starts to describe how dirty she is. Her apron was grey and greasy. (Dahl, 1984:33). The Importance Of Assisted Suicide In The Suicide Tourist I totally agree with Craig s choice to die at Dignitas because as his wife mentioned in the movie that she had lost him six months before. He was present physically but the life within him was already lost. Also, if we think about it, Craig was lucky to have a loving family and a supporting wife by his side through his journey. He also had money to cover the cost of his voluntary suicideas well as his funeral. Everyone is not as lucky as Craig. In the U.S, it is difficult to have good health even with insurance coverage. As we watched the couples in Michael Moore s movie husband had multiple heart attack and wife had gone through chemotherapy although they were covered by the insurance they were left homeless with all the medical bills. In Suicide Tourist, Craig knew what was the outcome of his disease. His health was only going to get worse from where he was. We saw a hint of such legalization during Dr. Deaths era in the 1990s. Dignitas in a way is replicated after Dr. Kevorkian. The steps for voluntary suicide in The Suicide Tourist were pretty much parallel to how Dr. Kevorkian carried out his plan. In the US, legalization of facilities like Dignitas will be opposed because our society is highly conservative. In a country where marriage between same sex is highly opposed, there is a small chance for the allowance of assisted suicide. • 9. The First English Dictionary By Samuel Johnson Lexicography is a historic practice which has existed for centuries. It is the practice and process of binding an entire lexicon into a single, readable text. This is a formidable task to undertake. The original definition of lexicon is as follows: A dictionary; a book teaching the signification of words (Johnson, 233). The public uses dictionaries as guidebooks for meaningful speech and discourse. Those who task themselves with creating these texts are called lexicographers. The first English dictionarywas written by Samuel Johnson in 1755. Johnson shared his views of lexicographers in his preface to A Dictionary of the English Language : Among these unhappy mortals is the writer of dictionaries; whom mankind have considered, not as the pupil, but the slave of science, the pioneer of literature, doomed only to remove rubbish and clear obstructions from the path of Learning and Genius, who press forward to conquest and glory, without bestowing a smile on the humble drudge that facilitates their progress. Every other authour may aspire to praise; the lexicographer can only hope to escape reproach, and even this negative recompense has been yet granted to very few (Johnson, 3). Johnson s somewhat dismal description of the pains lexicographers must undergo is very telling of the innate stress and responsibility of dictionary making. They are held accountable for the definitions and usage rules of an entire language; this is a respectable undertaking. The process of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 12. Social Learning Theory And Social Theory There are many theories in the field of criminology that seek to explain the reasons behind why people commit crimes. Social process theory is one such theory and asserts that criminal behavior is learned through interactions with others (Schmalleger, 2012). There are four types of social process theories including: social learning theory, social control theory, labeling theory, and dramaturgical perspective. This paper will explore two of the theories including social learning theory and social control theory. The paper will discuss social process theory and the history of its development, the theory s importance to criminology, examples of the theory, and any positives or negatives associated with the theory. Theory and the History of its Development Social Learning Theory Social Learning Theory is the process that occurs through observing the consequences of others and by determining if such behavior is worth replicating (Wallace, n.d.) Basically this theory suggests that humans learn by watching others. Social Learning Theory was developed in the 1930 s by Theorists, Edwin Sutherland, Robert Burgess, Ronald L. Akers, and Daniel Glaser. These theorists developed the learning theory by recognizing patterns of criminal behaviors and the types of values that went along with criminals, the way they lived and communicated which they called differential association (Schmalleger, 2012.) The males in Flatland are shapes composed of multiple sides, while the females are only straight lines. The greater number of sides each figure has, the higher their status is. This concept is quite similar to this time in Britian, where social casts and classes were relevant. Another common theme in Flatlandand in the 1800s is that members of the classes wanted to rank up and become something greater. Flatland is written in first person, by A Square. This gives the overall novel a tone of closeness. We are hearing the events from a source that experienced and witnessed the events contained in the novel, which gives readers a better understanding of what happened. This helps him to understand all the different viewpoints and perspectives in Flatland. By being in the middle class, he isn t too biased towards one side or the other. Secondary effects like fire; blockage on services such as water supply, electricity and transportation; and communication disruption are sometimes even more disastrous. Manmade infrastructures are however the major contributor of casualties during earthquake devastations. These structures therefore should be carefully designed and constructed. For examples, the improper placement of partition wall, chimney, staircase, and how water supply, electrical systems are arranged, are responsible for killing people and in facilitating structural damage to property. 2.2 Reason for Buildings Failure during Earthquake Vertical and horizontal shaking from earthquakes and inertia of buildings that causes frequent changes in building s weight, and the use of poor quality materials and massive structures are some of the reasons for building failures. Greater the mass of building, more lateral force is exerted on buildings, and this alone is the major component behind building damages. When there are no strong joint components like walls, beam, column, roofs, slabs, in buildings, the buildings move independently on their own direction, and velocity of their movements are dictated by the buildings weight and orientation, and all these result in separation of a building. The separation of building components and failure to support designed force is actually a building failure. 2.3

Because the Father is regarded as existing before the Son, Arius believes that the Son is a creature. Arius did rank the Son differently out of all other creatures. Arius regards the Son by saying, a perfect creature, yet not as one among other creature; a begotten being, yet not as one among other begotten beings. • 25. Erikson’s Psychosocial Theory of Development Report The psychosocial theory of development was formulised by the German psychoanalyst Erik Erikson. His theory considers the impact of external factors, parents, and the society, on personality development from childhood to adulthood (Candida, 2010, p. 51). According to Erikson s theory, every person must pass through a series of eight interconnected stages (split into general age ranges) over their entire life cycle. In this assignment, I will discuss these eight stages of development and how Erikson s theory is similar to my own life. Furthermore, I will address how defining moments in the first stages influenced my adolescence and identity. The first of Erikson s eight stages of development is infancy (0 to 12 months). Success in this leads to an ability to stay true to who they are, while failure results in role confusion and weak sense of their role in the world (AllPsych, 2009, В¶ 6). During the first part of my adolescence, I was extremely shy with a very low self esteem. Even though I had moved schools since the last stage, I still felt as though I didn t fit in or have many true friends. I found it really tough to find my identity and went through the first three years depressed. I believe that it was the events that I experienced in the previous stage which influenced that person I was during the first few years of adolescence. It was only in the last couple years of high school when I became more confident in myself and who I was. I achieved a sense of identity by developing close relationships with the young adults at my church. The next stage of Erikson s theory is young adulthood (18 to 35 years). Once we enter into this stage we start to search for someone we can begin to share ourselves with more intimately. However, if this does not happen, isolation and distance from others may occur (AllPsych, 2009, В¶ 7). • 28. Health Care Trends and Perceptions Regarding the Insurance... Health Care Determine what correlations can be made regarding the increase in population and the public perception of the health insurance system. Be sure to present your thoughts in a credible manner that is non offensive yet factual. The population has been steadily increasing in the United States since its founding. For a long period the US led the industrialized world in its fertility rate however, though this rate has slowed in recent generations with Americans having few babies per household, immigration into the US has become one of the main drivers of the expanding population (Wang, 2013). Furthermore, the population is also steadily aging and therefore often requires more in terms of health care services. All of these factors contribute to a trend in which health care accessibility is becoming more and more limited in all types of coverage s. For example, those who have private health insurance may be faced with higher out of pocket costs and limited services to attempt to control costs while those without private insurance could be potentially excluded from service all together. One study found that in 2007 nearly two thirds of all bankruptcies were related to medical expenses; a trend that has been rapidly increasing since the turn of the century (McCarthy, 2009). It is reasonable to believe that such trends correlate to a negative perception of the health insurance system. Consider the health trends in the U.S. over the last two decades and make some ... • 40. Punishment And Punishment Summary Introduction In the book Discipline and Punish, Foucault illustrates the history of the modern penal system, while at the same time seeking to analyze punishment as a social aspect. Also, the book covers the effects of power dynamics on the penalty. The book begins with an analysis of the historical situations before the 18th Century when the primary forms of punishment administration were public execution and corporal punishment. Investigations regarding criminal offenses were mainly carried out through torture (Crisp, 2003). The penalties were ceremonial and directed towards the body of the prisoner; the audience was necessary during the ritual. The public executions were considered to the kingdom as they established the authority and power of the king. During the 18th Century, there were many agitations for reforms on punishments. The reformists got the motivations from the need for the considerations of the prisoner s welfare. Foucault and other people thought that the system was not taking care of the well being, and hence there was a need to make operations of power more efficient. The agitations led to the proposal of a theater of punishment where a complex system of representations was publicly displayed. The sentences were related to the crimes and hence discouraged people from lawbreaking. An Overview of Foucault s Approaches Foucault s approaches to punishment followed three significant ideas including the spectacle of the scaffold; generalized punishment; and panopticism. The following is an overview of the three ideologies. The spectacle of scaffold Despite the fact that the French penal ordinance set out very harsh penalties against punishment, there was still a gap between theory and the punitive practice (Foucault, The spectacle of the scaffold, 2008). The exercise of torture and public execution were no longer frequently administered as forms of punishment. However, use of torture as a considerable part of penalty still existed. In this perspective, torture refers to an exact measurable amount of pain through the investment of the economy of power. The use of torture was meant to be a tool for revealing the truth, which would be determined at different degrees. The investigation process ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Let the Right One In was captivating and occupied the space with great power. Immediately once the show began, I noticed the forwarding aspect of the overlapping scenes to help bring momentum to the production. The specific reference I am making is to the introduction of the character Oskar, who was played by Sam Pinson, coupled with Hakan s first murder. Hakan was played by Weston Vrooman and his first victim in the production is Torkel who was portrayed by Austin Reid. The overlapping of their two scenes set up a fast pace that added to some of the suspense the show itself calls for in its mood. Another aspect that I thought worked well for this production was the casting choice of Sam Pinson for Oskar. The reason I mention this is because Sam is not what I would expect in the casting of a young teenage boy. He is tall and not the typical type for that role. These parts include the propulsion system, the tail, the wing, and the fuselage (Malev Virtual Training Division, 2005). Before the landing gear is designed, the stability of the aircraft must be proven, by establishing its center of gravity (Federal Aviation Administration, 2014). In a few circumstances, the structure of the aircraft my need to be changed by the designer in order to accommodate the landing gear. The main roles of the landing gear include stability of the aircraft during taxi and on the ground, loading, and unloading. The landing gear allows the aircraft to move and maneuver freely during taxing. The landing gear also separates main components of the aircraft like the fuselage and the wing while the aircraft is on the ground (Federal Aviation Administration, 2014).
