ABSTRACT Glycine betaine is a compatible organic metabolite which is synthesized and
accumulated in pulses, cereals, grasses and many microbes in response to different types of stress.
It has been shown to exhibit enhanced tolerance of plants to salt stress. In this investigation we
examined the effects of salt stress and synthesis of glycine betaine on leaf protease activity in
Lucerne plants. Sodium chloride stress was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The present work, therefore, was conducted to evaluate the role of glycine betaine in protecting the
proteins inleucerne plants through protease enzyme activity from being damaged by salt stress. On
the basis of our results we discuss the response of leucerne plants to salt stress and glycine betaine.
MATERIALS AND METHODS
Purification of Protease The leucerne plant leaves are procured from 70 days old plants and
allowed to stand for two days in a humidity controlled dark growth chamber at 340C. The leaves
were homogenized with 0.1M phosphate buffer (pH 7.0) containing 0.4M sucrose and 0.05M
sodium ascorbate in a waring blender. Filtered homogenate was (I in Table 1) was squeezed
through a gauze and centrifuged at 2000 rpm for 20 mins. The supernatant (II in Table 1) was
adjusted to pH 5.0 by the addition of 1N acetic acid and allowed to stand overnight. The precipitate
was removed by centrifugation and the supernatant (III in Table 1) was subjected to ammonium
sulphate fractionation between 0.25 and 0.9 saturation. The ammonium sulphate precipitate was
suspended in 0.0025M Mc llvain buffer (pH 5.5) containing 2.5 Г— 10 3 M sodium ascorbate and
dialyzed against the same buffer at 40C for 20 hrs. The dialysate (IV in Table 1) was centrifuged
and the supernatant was fractionated by the addition of ethanol at 50C. A fraction precipitating
between 20 and 60% ethanol was collected and dialyzed in the same way.

Limited Liability Companies ( Llcs ) Essay
Limited Liability Companies (LLCs) Rationale. The advent of the limited liability company in the
1990 s came about primarily to promote small business start ups by providing substantial asset
protection, simpler rules, and favorable state and local tax treatments (Millon, 2007; Riles
Whitlock, 2003: Vandervoort, 2004). LLCs are also typically easier and less expensive to form and
manage than a corporationand quickly became the entity of choice (Hopson Hopson, 2014).
Similarities to corporations. Like corporations, LLCs are separate legal entities, and as with the
shareholders of corporations, the members of LLCs are provided significant asset protection from
creditors and other stakeholders (Riles Whitlock, 2003) by limiting the liability to the amount of the
capital contribution (Albert, 2015). This shifts the risk of failure and insolvency from the members
to the creditors (Millon, 2007).
Differences from corporations. Many of the differences between LLCs and corporations have
been the crux in the area of litigation, the first being the lack of corporate formalities. Unlike a
corporation, an LLC can be managed by its members or appointed managers and does not require
periodic meetings. Although every state now has LLC legislation (Albert, 2015) which impose
default fiduciary duties, these duties can be modified or eliminated altogether by the members of
the LLC (Raju Remming, 2012). As opposed to corporations following FASB ASC 105 Generally

The Assault By Harry Mulisch Essay
In The Assault by Harry Mulisch, the themes of guilt and innocence are highly prevalent throughout
its storyline and are more often than not related to each other. In these situations, Mulisch employs
his diverse cast of characters, their motives, and their fates to intertwine these themes and create a
morally ambiguous political thriller that leaves the audience unsure of a definite resolution. The
first set of characters Mulisch employs is the Ploeg family. When Fake Ploeg is murdered in the
beginning of the novel, Anton recalls him as being the greatest murderer and traitor in Haarlem
(Mulisch 17), immediately informing the audience that he was intensely disliked among his
community. Later, the reader learns that he was a Nazi collaborator... Show more content on

Toward the end of the novel, Anton s final encounter relating to the night of the assaultis with his
old neighbor, Karin Korteweg. After questioning her about why she and her father chose to place
the body in front of his house as opposed to the other neighbors, such as the Aarteses, she replied
that her father had said, No, not there. They re hiding Jews! (Mulisch 183). This astonishes both
the audience and Anton by providing the final piece to the puzzle they have been trying to solve
over the course of this novel. With this revelation, Mulisch also applies the themes of innocence
and guilt by exhibiting how these characters were arguably at fault for the death of Anton s family
without actively participating, and by being in danger, those three people had unknowingly saved
themselves and the lives of two others (184). Mulisch leaves Anton pondering if everyone [was]
both guilty and not guilty? Was guilt innocent and innocence guilty? (184) to inspire an internal
debate within the reader while leaving him or her with a vague and unresolved conclusion to the
novel to finalize his application of linking the themes of guilt and

Coca Cola s Financial Analysis: History and Current
Introduction
History
The Coca Cola Corporation is an American Icon of business that has established a new direction for
American Industry operations in the 20th century. According to Moxley (2002), Beginning with its
invention in 1886 by druggist John Doc Pemberton in Atlanta, the development of the product is
shown, along with the changes in American life that accompanied and affected the prices. We learn
that by giving out free samples and pervasive advertising, Coca Cola became known throughout the
country. (Moxley, 2002)

The liabilities and equity sections of the balance sheet show how the company s assets were
financed. (Gallagher, 2010) According to the liabilities section, the total current liabilities for KO
are $18.508 billion. Net working capital is current assets minus current liabilities, $21.579
18.508=$3.071.
Income Statement An income statement is a financial statement that measures a company s
financial performance over a specific accounting period. Financial performance is assessed by
giving a summary of how the business incurs its revenues and expenses through both operating and
non operating activities. The purpose of the income statement is to show managers and investors
whether the company made or lost money during the period being reported. From the income
statement we can do a ratio analysis of the company. Below are ratios relevant to Coca Cola.
Ratio Analysis
The price to earnings share ratio is a valuation ratio of a company s current share price compared to
its per share earnings. For example, if a company is currently trading at $43 a share and earnings
over the last 12 months were $1.95 per share, the P/E ratio for the stock would be 22.05 ($43
/$1.95). (Investopedia, 2011)
The P/E ratio for Coca Cola is 12.39. (Yahoo Finance, 2011) This ratio indicates that the company s
stock price is currently trading at 12 and a third of its current earnings. Considering the relative

Teenage Underage Drinking
In this day and age, underage drinking is very much rampant among teenagers ages 12 years old
to 17 years old. It truly cannot be denied that teens of this generation are very much liberated and
out there . Because of these traits, the generation of teens is very much likely to indulge in alcohol
drinking. This is an issue that must be addressed for it possess a threat to the present generation
and the generations to come. An output of being liberated is the tendency for teenagers to
frequently socialize with a variety of people and this usually leads to influencing one another in
various habits and one common habit is alcoholdrinking. Social factors like peer pressure, lack of

A teenager on his or her crucial stages of development, have not fully developed the skill of
decision making. Thus pressure one feels from peers and the persistent exposure to the act can
cause the individual to eventually indulge in underage drinking for social acceptance. The
struggle to fit in is always a constant issue amongst our teenagers in this generation. And
underage drinking has been a status qualifier that signifies a person s dominance and liberation.
This is why most peers would encourage themselves to engage in such habits. Apart from that,
without proper guidance and supervision from parents or guardians, teenagers most likely are at
risk to engage in underage drinking. Without the reinforcement, they will grow up to believe that
such habit is a form of mere socialization and not a fatal grip for their future. Guidance is truly
relevant. Without it, one day you may realize the effect of underage drinking is very much morbid
or worse, irreversible. Lastly, a negative family environment is truly a major factor that molds a
teen s young mind into what is socially acceptable and what is not. If alcohol drinking is freely
displayed at home, then this kind of notion is most likely hardwired on the teenagers subconscious
mind causing him/her to be very much okay with the set up. A negative family environment will
most likely cause the individual to engage in negative coping mechanisms: such as underage
drinking. Based on the data the researchers have collected and the survey conducted, the researchers
conclude that social factors strongly influence the alcoholic tendencies of selected Engineering
students because of peer pressure, lack of guidance and negative family

Norway, Cuba, And Jamaica
My country s populations that I will inform about are Norway, Cuba, and Jamaica. Norway is in
Northern Europe on the western and northern part of the Scandinavian Peninsula. Cuba is a part of
the Caribbean Sea, west of Haiti across the Windward Passage on and south of the Bahamas.
Jamaica is island in the CaribbeanSea, which is the third largest island of the Greater Antilles. These
countries have very diverse cultures and populations due to many factors in each country.
Norway has a population rate is about 1.3%, which means there is growth also known as surplus.
The northern parts of the country are home to two main groups of the population of Sami with a
different language and cultural traditions. The Gypsy population also is a part of the homogeneous
population, which are both smaller populations. In the late twentieth century, the country let
immigrants come in from other countries. The Norwegian people have a population of four million
and they also promote cultural sharing. About 90 percent of the immigrants belong to the
Evangelical Lutheran state church. Then the other five percent are members of other faiths and
only five percent have no religion. Also, Constitutional monarchy is Norway s government type and
the capital city is Oslo. The higher the education in America is greatly over religion to most people.
In the Norwegian immigrant community the Lutheran church has their education in a Christian

Salinger would meet his first wife Sylvia, a German and possible former Nazi, yet they would

novel The Catcher in the Rye. In the story Catcher in Rye by J.D. Salinger, the main character of
the story Holden Caulfield takes a lot of the characteristics of the person who created him. The
first instance of this connection between the two is that they both despise the movies. Salinger
despises the movie s because he made My Foolish Heart, a film adaptation of Salinger s story

the experience so miserable that he never formally authorizes another film version of his work (

it s the movies. Don t even mention them to me (14). Another connection of these two
individuals is that they both were kicked out of prestigious schools. Salinger was kicked out of

Is Antigone An Innocent Victim
Sophocles Antigone, has raised many speculations amongst the crowd. On one side, we feel that
Antigone is an innocent victim. But when re examined, we are lead to believe that she invites
everything on herself. A martyr is someone who is cursed due to their beliefs and a masochist is
the one who relishes pain. A popular belief is that Antigone is both. It is her nature and
characteristics which make her fate inevitable. She carves her own destiny by being determined
and heroically brave a trait which develops respect amongst the audience. In the play, Antigone is
following the divine law by sprinkling dirt over her brother. She even takes a stance and isn t
letting anybody to take the blame for it, not even his sister Ismene. This proves that Antigone
adores punishments and enjoys the pain derived from it making her both, a martyr and a masochist.
However when re examined, we realise that Antigone cannot be looked upon as an innocent victim
of tyranny. Tyranny is severe and oppressive rule of the government. But at a realistic stance, the

information that Antigone was aware of the penalties of her act as she is aware about the
punishment of execution awarded to anyone who tries to sprinkle dirt over Polyneices body. This
encourages reader to believe that Antigone isn t an innocent victim of tyranny. The examples and

The Message in Spike Lee s Movie Do the Right Thing
In an attempt to enlighten audiences with a powerful message about the cancer that hate and
violence can bring to a society; writer, director, Spike Lee brings Do the Right Thing to the
screen. Fusing a powerful story with creative film making, Lee gives us an insider s look at life on
a blistering summer day in Brooklyn.
To create an atmosphere that both looks and almost literally feels like possibly the hottest day of
the year, Lee uses orange and yellow filters throughout the film. Objects, as well as people seem to
glisten in the light. Even scenes shot indoors have beams of light coming through windows and
doors. The use of lighting is only one technique Lee uses to create a ... Show more content on

This is accomplished with different camera angles as well as the movement of the camera. For
example, in many scenes as the camera follows the action it is shaky rather than sturdy, as if you
as a viewer are walking around and seeing the action through your own eyes. One may also notice
that an escalated level of action or conversation on the screen is mirrored by the pace of the film
from frame to frame. In essence, a heated argument would involve a quick paced transition of shots,
going from a close up of one character to another at a rapid pace in tune with the argument.
At the beginning of the film, we are introduced to a wide variety of characters. Mayor, an older
gentleman with a drinking problem, portrays neutrality in the film that is in sharp contrast to the
racism and discrimination that is harbored in most of the cast. Throughout the story, Lee has a
way of making this hatred between characters seem ridiculous to the point where it becomes
humorous. Perhaps as a way to make the audience look at hate as a joke, and to see it that way in
their own lives. However, slowly we begin to see that the hate towards others is stemming from
frustrations within their own lives, and is taken out on others in increasingly more harmful ways. In
the end, we see this escalating hate lead to violence and in turn to destruction for everybody.

Management Of Rheumatoid Arthritis And Gout
Management of Rheumatoid Arthritis and Gout

Abstract
Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic inflammatory disease characterize by symmetric polyarthritis and
joint changes including erythema, effusion and tenderness. Its course is characterize by remission
and exacerbations. Rheumatoid arthritis can affect several organ, but usually involve synovial tissue
changes in the freely movable joints like the wrist, the PIP joint, the metacarpophalangeal joints.
This article provide a comprehensive review of the etiology, pathophysiology, epidemiology, clinical
presentation, pharmacological therapy and the nursing implication.
Introduction
Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic systemic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most evidence today support the concept that the pathology of rheumatoid arthritis has its bases in
an inflammatory response involving the immune system. Other theory of causation include genetic
factors, infectious agents and an antigen antibody response. It is unlikely that a single factor is
responsible for all cases of rheumatoid arthritis.
Pathophysiology
The main physiologic changes associated with rheumatoid arthritis include synovial membrane
proliferation followed by erosion of the subarticular cartilage and subchondral bone. Although the
exact etiology of RA is unknown, enormous evidence points to a series of immunologic events.
Specific major histocompatibility complex (HMC) class 11 allele and human leukocyte antigen
(HLA) are seen more frequently in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. The pathogenesis begins with
stimulation of B and T lymphocyte and their proliferation which leads to activation of the blood
vessel in the synovial membrane. As the synovial membrane enlarges lymphocyte and macrophages
moves toward the area to phagocytize the invading antigen.
Epidemiology
The prevalence of rheumatoid arthritis in the U.S is now estimated to be 1.29 million people or
0.6 percent of the population. This figure show a reduction from the previous estimate of 2.1
million people. The prevalence and incidence of new cases per year appear to be decreasing since
the 1960s. although there is a decline, rheumatoid arthritis appear in women twice as

Political Differences Between Eastern And Western Europe
Before period 3 came the fall of many great empires across the world. Han China and Gupta India
were falling to invaders and revolts. However, one of the most important downfalls of an empire
in the classical period was the fall of the Roman Empire. Due to many contributing factors, Rome
broke apart towards the end of period 2 and changed the entirety of Europeand the Middle East.
This fall more importantly increased the divide between Eastern and Western Europe. After the fall
of Rome, the administrations of Western and Eastern Europeshowed more drastic differences in
both centralization and religion. However, even with this major differences they still shared the
same ambitions and values. One of the primary differences between Eastern and Western Europe
in period 3 is their respective governments or more specifically the centralization of them. The
major nation in the East was the Byzantines. They are known for being extremely centralized and
having a very large bureaucracy. While on the other hand, Western Europe was split into many
smaller areas and states, each having very loose organization. The paramount example of a
noncentralized Europe is the governing system. This system was feudalism, a political system that
spreads power and control amongst lords and their vassals. While the king has a lot of power,
feudalism does not allow for a heavily centralized government. With the Byzantines it is almost the
opposite. Most of the power was given to the emperor. The

Examples Of Gothic Trope In Australia Directed By Baz Lurhman
Hello and welcome back to FNS. On today s episode, we ll be focusing on the Australian film
industry, and more specifically, how the gothic trope of the Australian outback is manipulated to
present Australian identity. One of the better examples of this manipulation is the movie Australia,
directed by Baz Lurhman. Lurhman has used narrative, aesthetic and cinematic techniques to distort
and manipulate the gothic trope throughout the film.
Gothic is known as the literary, artistic and architectural style which originated in the 12th century
(Wikipedia, 2016). The basic concept of the gothic style consists of fear, horror and strangely
eccentric ideas (Anon. 2016). Similarly, the gothic trope of Australias outback relates to the harsh,

An example of this is how they re shown as a threat to settlers (Turcotte, G. 1998). However this
colonial perspective of the trope is corrupted when Nullah forms a bond with Lady Ashley. Their
relationship s established after Lady Ashley sings Over the Rainbow from The Wizard of Oz to
Nullah. The tune then becomes the motif which plays when they re together. It can be assumed
that as a British woman, Lady Ashley represents the settlers. Therefore, the closeness her and
Nullah share symbolises how un threatening Aboriginals really are and subverts the tropes
colonial perspective. The pair s bond also challenges another element of the trope; the
construction of Aboriginals as figures haunting the Australian landscape (Turcotte, G. 1998). Not
even four minutes into the film, the audience is given a scene in which Nullah and his
grandfather, King George, are wandering the land and learning to hunt. This establishes the
relationship Aboriginal people share with the land; as if the land is their home and backbone
(Korff, J. 2016). Later in the film, Nullah is drawn to go walkabout with his Grandfather, but held
back for a while by Lady Ashley and the Drover. This rejects the gothic tropes idea that Aboriginal
people own or are owned by the land at the expense of white

These are the processed cheeses most commonly found in grocery stores and markets in the United
States. These cheeses do not require refrigeration and have a very long shelf life, sometimes going
several weeks or a few months without spoiling. American cheese and reduced fat cheeses are
common examples of processed, pre packed pasteurized cheeses. Typically processed cheeses are
required to have artificial flavoring added to them because during the pasteurization process, the
milk s natural flavors are removed, which reduces the natural flavor of the cheese itself. These
processed, pre packaged and pasteurized cheeses are also commonly referred to as club cheeses or
cold cut cheeses.
Pasteurized cheeses are the most common types of cheeses found in markets and grocery stores
and they are the only type of cheeses considered safe and approved for regular consumption by the
U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Pasteurized cheeses are also good for many recipes, whether
just as an appetizer or paired with crackers, fruit, and wine.

Peace Synthesis Essay
Authors such as John Lederach, Jarat Chopra, and Tanja Hohe explain that one of the worst
ways to go about building peace in a post conflict country is to approach it with an overly
westernized strategy. Doing so leads to a failure to create public support for the new government
and an ultimate failure to create lasting peace. Jarat Chopra, and Tanja Hohe explain that a far
more effective strategy is one of integration. They believe that it is irresponsible to eliminate
traditional structures of governance if they have been successful in the past at promoting peace.
The goal of integration is to take traditional local sources of governance and use them to establish a
better refined national government. This leads to a wider adoption rate of post conflictgovernment
and prevents power vacuums from occurring. (Chopra Jarat, 2004)
Having both the Puntland and South Central Somalia adopt the Beel System is an exhalent form of
integration. The Beel System already has both western institutions and local cultural roots. The
Beel System creates three governmental branches, an executive branch, a legislative branch, and a
judicial branch, which all operate independently each other. (Jimcaale, Cabdirahman, 2002)This

twenty three (History.com Staff, 2009). Custer had various disciplinary issues throughout his
career ranging from abandoning his post for romantic reasons to leaving the field without
searching for a slain reconnaissance unit (History.com Staff, 2009). His expedition in 1874 that
led to the discovery of gold, was in violation of the treaty of 1868 wherein the Black Hills were
recognized to belong to the Sioux Nation. Custer was known to have a reckless temperament and
was often at odds with superior officers. Nevertheless, as a Lieutenant Colonel assigned to the
Seventh Cavalry Regiment out of Fort Riley, Kansas, Custer was tasked to lead the force against
Sitting Bull s alliance (History.com Staff, 2009).

Credit Card Theft Is Not For Hard Working Consumers...
No matter what precautions are taken, credit and debit card fraud will remain an enemy to hard
working consumers everywhere. Credit card thieves can use a variety of methods to attack the
consumer. ATMs can be used to steal information from a debit card transaction. Online predators
can steal credit card information through a click of a button. Stores can also be targeted through the
use of data mining in the magnetic card readers. Persistent consumer vigilance is needed if credit
cardtheft is to be avoided.
ATM machines with exorbitant fees have been thought to be acting as highway robbers, now
they may even have a thieving companion; Card scanners. By stealing the information off the
credit card as it is swiped the consumer is not even aware they have been attacked. Even if the
consumer is careful to hide their hand as they enter the PIN in order to withdraw money from an
ATM, the larcenist might still have a hidden camera or card reader to steal the card information.
Erin Lowry, a content director for a popular magazine was a victim of two different attacks on
her credit identity; she had $600 stolen from her account after using a shady ATM with a hidden
scanner inside. The use of a low security ATM is a consumer error, but with everyday stresses
sometimes common sense is abandoned in place of convenience. Larcenists will place these
scanners inside ATM s located in low socioeconomic areas with the intent to instantly copy the card
numbers onto an embedded micro storage

The Nazi Movement and the Lavender Scare
The Nazi Political Movement in Germany, in the 1930s and 1940s, involved one of the most
virulent anti homosexual campaigns in world history. In the 1950s and 1960s, another less well
known anti homosexual campaign, known as the Lavender Scare, raged in Washington, DC.
Though, the Nazi movement is much more well known, both movements used similar tactics and
involved comparable people.
The Goal Both the Nazi Political Movemen,t in Germany, and the post World War II/Cold War
attacks on homosexuals, were driven by similar goals. The Nazi movement arose after Germany
had lost World War 1 and was being restricted heavily by the Treaty of Versailles. The country faced
major inflation and extremely high unemployment rates. The Nazi party ... Show more content on

Strategies
Most notable when studying the comparison between the Nazi attack of homosexuals and the
Washington DC attack on homosexuals is the similarity of the methods and strategies of
oppression. Both movements accelerated their affront on homosexual citizens over time. At the
beginning of Nazi Germany, it was only homosexuals in power or homosexuals that were accused
of trying to convert people to homosexuality that were punished heavily, then as the movement
progressed, anyone suspected of being homosexual was sent to a concentration camp. Similarly, the
Lavender Scare escalated from only openly homosexual people being suspected to full on police
raids and interrogation. As the two movements got a foothold in their respective countries, they
became increasingly fanatical. Before their respective anti homosexual movements, Washington DC
and Berlin both had thriving gay and lesbian communities with social outlets and general
acceptance, but as time went on, the two societies turned hostile to homosexuals with the prodding
of the leaders of the two movements. Both movements toyed with chemical, surgical, and/or
psychological methods of gay conversion. At the Atascadero State Hospital in the United States,
homosexuals were treated with a drug that simulated the feeling of drowning as a sort of aversion

Argumentative Essay Buy Nothing Day
Buy Nothing Day The first ever Buy Nothing Day was held in Canada on 1992. Buy Nothing
Day was organized as a day where no goods would be purchased, and as a result of this boycott of
goods it would raise awareness of the ethical and environmental implications of overconsumption.
This is a great and innovative idea that gives publicity to a neglected issue, which is the
implications of overconsumption. Nowadays people do not realize how much damage
overconsumption actually does to our world. They fail to realize that their brand new Nike sneakers
were made by child labor in a crammed sweatshopsomewhere in Asia. They fail to realize how
much pollution was released into the environment from mass production in factories, so that they

negative effect on an already crumbling economy, but such thoughts are illogical. If someone were

Nationalism And National Identity
Nationalism is a source of modernization and political legitimacy, especially in Latin American
countries such as Nicaragua, Argentina, and Mexico. An inclusive national identity can serve as a
means for the development of belonging, and this globally acclaimed notion of diversity is
attractive for nations struggling to find their footing in the international community. Looking
towards the future, the key to achieving this inclusion is the use of culture, specifically employing
music as a tool of integration. However, the decisive variable here is adolescents. Though these
popular music forms may be the music of the people, they are ultimately dictated by the youth. In
modern times, music is integral for youth as they delve into discourses of identity and equality, so
focusing in on marginalized youth gives the government an opportunity to explore attitudes and
national inclusion among individuals who are in a critical period of development. Even though
teens are influenced by their parents beliefs during childhood before advancing their own views,
youth are ultimately the starting point for incorporating ostracized groups into nationalist
discourses because they are the developers and executors of music movements. Furthermore, the
attitudes of young people regarding inclusion and exclusion provide an indication for the
sustainability of such diverse national identities in the future.
In Nicaragua, discourses of identity became prominent following the success of the

Stock Split Advantages And Disadvantages
STOCK SPLIT:
A stock split is a process in which the number of already issued shares increases without
increasing the market capitalization of the company. In other words, Stock split is nothing but the
division of already issued shares of a firm into a larger number of shares. Stock split increases the
number of outstanding shares while at the same time decreasing face value share price
proportionally. i.e, when a company split its stock 2 for 1, then the number of shares will get
double face value, the share price will become half. The goal of the stock split is to make the
stock accessible to as many investors as possible. A share split will result in all shareholders

Hence, companies split stocks to come over this problem. Stock splits are mainly carried out with
the intention that it should be affordable to small investors which will eventually enhance the
liquidity of the stock. Hence, the main motive is to enhance the liquidity of the stock.
If a company wants to reduce its market price to half, it will issue 2 for 1 stock split which
means the company will issue additional 1 share per 1 share currently issued thereby doubling
the total number of shares. There might be a 3 for 2 stock split, for example, which means that 3
shares are to be issued for each 2 shares of currently issues shares.
A stock split is usually applied by companies that have seen their share price increase to levels that
are either too high or are beyond the price levels of peer companies. For e.g, ICICI BANK, shares
of ICICI bank used to trade at 1700 in 2014 it s peers like HDFC BANK, KOTAK MAHINDRA
etc. used to trade at half of its price at that time then ICICI came up with a 5 for 1 stock

Data mart is a simple form of a data warehouse that is focused on a single subject, such as sales,

Analysis Of Jean Shepherd s Red Ryder Nails The Hammond Kid
Jean Shepherd s Red Ryder Nails the Hammond Kid is short story about a man looking back on his
childhood. As a boy, he desperately wanted a Red Ryder BB Gun. The story was originally
published in 1966 in Shepherd s collection of semi autobiographical short stories called In God We
Trust, All Others Pay in Cash, as well as in Playboy Magazine. Bob Clarks 1983 A Christmas Story
is an adaptation of a mixture of Shepherd s short stories including Red Ryder Nails the Hammond
Kid and a skit he heard on a radio talk show in 1968. Clark s adaptation changes, removes from, and
adds to the plot of Shepherd s original short story.
Firstly, A Christmas Story changes the style of the framed narrative. In the story, Ralph Parker is
looking back on his childhood after a woman expresses her opinion on disarming the toy industry.
However, the movie opens inside Ralph s childhood with an adult Ralph as the narrator. This change
does not take away from the story, though. It allows the audience to be put right into the action of
the story rather than making the audience wait for something to happen that causes the narrator to
look back on their life.
Secondly, Clark adds to the relationships within Ralph s family. In the story, the reader does not
read much about the people in the family. From the story, the reader knows that Ralph s father or
as Ralph calls him, the Old Man has a temper and a tendency to swear. The Old Man is a very
hardworking man who is always fixing things,

Because the company is donating these drugs and has made the donation public, it should follow
that the consumers for their other drugs understand that there is some residual increase in costs
to them for other drugs in order to pay for those donations. From a business point of view, Merck
is probably taking every possible measure to reduce the overhead costs of production but at the
end of the day, all they are really donating are the compounds used to formulate the drugs, whatever
minimal packaging has been the least costly and most effective, and a willingness to accept
possible future liability if their drug backfires on them with unforeseen side effects. It would be
unreasonable to assume that they will operate at a complete loss for this donation.

A.Bicycle consumers evaluate bicycles for their technology to include low weight, durable, stylish,

How is Managing Climate change, Changes America s Health
Fady Estany

What is Climate Change?
Climate change is a change of environment patterns. In specific the change was obvious from the
mid to late 20th century. The reason of the dramatic change was due to large increased levels of
atmospheric carbon dioxide produced by the use of fossil fuels. We as people can barely or see no
change at all. But the truth is that our Earth is warming little by little. Minor changes in the average
temperature of the earth can transform to massive and possibly dangerous shifts in climate and
weather. Global temperatures have been on the rise, Earth average temperature has by 1.4
Fahrenheit over the past 100 years, and temperature is projected to increase 2 to 11.5 Fahrenheit
over the next century. Again as we can see the evidence of climate changes such as increasing of
temperatures, changes in precipitation, consequence in more floods, ice glaciers are melting, and
oceans are warming. ( United States Environmental Protection Agency, 2014) As those changes take
place in our Earth, it becomes more challenging for us humans, and creatures around the planet. So
as we understand, the managing of climate change is important, because it will create awareness on
the role of science, as well the role of humans, the effects of climate change, and the adaptation of
climate change.

Skin Color Is An Illusion By Nina Jablonski Summary
In Skin color is an illusion , Nina Jablonski explains how human skin pigmentation is a product of
evolution based on natural selection as a result of UV radiation. She says that the earliest humans
in our evolutionary background existed in equatorial Africa where there was a very concentrated
amount of ultra violet radiation, proving that, one of humanities first ever ancestors did in fact have
darkly pigmented skin as opposed to the lighter skin colorthat is more commonly portrayed in media
today. This means that all humans have had a common ancestor that had dark skin in their lineage.
She then further explains how melanin, which is a natural sunscreen that is the cause of color in
humans and that has existed for at least a billion years , was adapted by human evolution to protect
us from the massive influxes of UV radiation that they were bombarded with in there earlier

High School Should Not Be Legal
What is the most common reason why high school would go to college? My old friend Sean

I remember watching part of my brothers Dave Ramsey financial piece university video. It stated

Jessica Price observes:
An onslaught of tragic elements appear in both Hamlet and The Oresteia. Hamlet s hamartia in
William Shakespeare s Hamlet leads to his succumbing to corruption and his eventual demise. In
The Oresteia by Aeschylus, Orestes hamartia takes a slightly different course, causing him to
stumble, but not completely fall.
While Orestes never indulges in long existential speeches or philosophical thinking Hamlet
delays the action in his endless quest for a right answer. Hamlet is not faced with the terrible
commitment of killing his own mother. He has to kill his uncle to whom one is not as dearly
related as a son is to his mother. Still he does not consider it right to kill his uncle on an
apparitions command. He puts him to test to affirm what his father s ghost said. He arranges a
play based on the actual event of king s murder to be performed before his uncle and mother and
note their responses to it. Even after his suspicion is validated he cannot bring himself round to kill
his uncle. He wants to heal what has been hurt, make right what is wrong, do the justice but deep
inside he does not want to kill Claudius. Orestes, on the other hand, right

The Impact Of Tax Structure Of The United Arab Emirates
Currently, the United Arab Emirates does not have a federal corporate income tax (CIT) regime;
however, most of the Emirates introduced income tax decrees in the late 1960s, and taxation is
therefore determined on an Emirate by Emirate basis.
Under the Emirate based tax decrees, CIT may be imposed on all companies (including branches
and permanent establishments [PEs]) at rates of up to 55%. However, in practice, CIT is currently
only enforced in respect of corporate entities engaged in the production of oil and gas or extraction
of other natural resources in the United Arab Emirates.
In addition, some of the Emirates have their own specific banking tax decrees, which impose CIT
on branches of foreign banks at the rate of 20%

It is generally the tenants obligation to pay the tax. In some cases, separate fees are payable by
both tenants and property owners. For example, in the Emirate of Dubai, the municipality tax on
property is currently imposed at 5% of the annual rental value for tenants or at 5% of the specified
rental index for property owners.
Further, a registration fee may also be levied on transfer of ownership of land or property. For
example, a land registration fee is levied in the Emirate of Dubai at a rate of 4% of the sale value of
the property.
There is a social security regime in the United Arab Emirates that applies to UAE and GCC
national employees only. In most of the Emirates, and for a UAE national employee, social
security contributions are calculated at a rate of 17.5% of the employee s gross remuneration as
stated in the employment contract. Out of the 17.5%, 5% is payable by the employee and the
remaining 12.5% is payable by the employer. Dubai s enormous oil revenues mean that the
government has no need to raise income through direct taxation. Accordingly, Dubai is a no tax
emirate characterized by an almost complete absence of taxation. There are no withholding or
capital taxes. Speaking in November 2005, the late Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum,
then Crown Prince of Dubai and the Defense Minister of the United Arab Emirates sought to quash
speculation regarding the possible introduction

Signor Antonio, the man who signed a bond stating a pound of flesh was to be given to me if the
money was not repaid is standing here before me, alive and well. He receives no punishment for
what he did to me, however, here I stand, the tables have turned and now I am receiving the
biggest punishment of all. What do I do now? My possessions, my livelihood, my beliefs all
gone; all taken away from me. My daughter has run away with some Christian man. Lorenzo they
say his name is, and he pollutes my daughter with his belief. I thought I would have my revenge
on the Christian. Signor Antonio has mistreated and disrespected me all my life, and now I
believed, he shall feel my pain. When he came to me, begging for money, despite me hatred towards

What Have the Attitudes and Actions of People in Billy...
HSC 2008 Question 12 Elective 2: Into the world (20 marks)
Question: What have the attitudes and actions of people in your texts revealed to you about
venturing into society? In your response refer your prescribed texts and TWO texts of your own
choosing.
The attitudes and actions of the various characters within my chosen text shed light on the
experiences individuals may encounter upon venturing into society. These characters reveal
experiences of overcoming the sexual prejudices and stereotypes which are present in the world
as well as dealing with the death of a love one. Both these experiences can be observed through the
lives of the characters in the film, Billy Elliot, directed by Stephen Daldry. These can also be seen

Another experience of such prejudice can be perceived in the actions of the mother of Vorn, a boy
within the clan. She encourages her son to give orders to Alya she believes that he is learning to
behave just like a man . The composer s use of verbatim in this line encapsulates the strong sexual
bias held against women within the tribe as well as supports the stereotypical roles of males and
females. Furthermore the composer demonstrates another representation of gender stereotypes in the
actions of Iza, the woman who adopted Alya. In a conversation between Iza and Creb, Iza
expresses her concern for Alya s future. She states that she s not attractive and asks What chance
will she ever have to mate? What will happen to her when she becomes a woman? If she doesn t
mate, she will have no status. The composer has clearly again expressed the tribe s attitudes
through the repetition of rhetorical questions. This underscores the towns gender stereotyping as
Iza demonstrates a clear concern that Alya will not fulfil her role in society. Together, these three
experiences of gender prejudice and a clear male bias reveal to us a holistic understanding of the
attitudes encountered when entering into a society of sexual injustice, such as Ayla s world.
Moreover another experience of venturing into society revealed within the film Billy Elliot is the
experience of dealing with the death of a loved one or family member. Towards the

Factors Affecting Juror Behavior Towards Perpetrators and...
Our current study examines juror behaviour towards perpetrators and victims in a criminal trial
setting. Taken into account, are two factors hypothesized to influence the judicial outcome of
criminal trials in Canada and the United States. Primarily, that a juror s level of belief in a just
world (BJW) influences his or her decisions towards both the perpetrator and victim, with those
jurors measuring higher in BJW being more apt to blame the victim for his or her own misfortune.
Second, that the relationship between BJW and the victim blamingbehaviour of the juror is
mediated by whether the victim is portrayed as innocent, having done nothing to deserve
victimization; or portrayed as non innocent, having contributed to their own misfortune through
careless or immoral behaviour. We analyzed data for main effects of both BJW and victim type on
outcome variables perpetrator sentencing and victim monetary compensation. Data was further
analyzed for possible interaction effects between BJW and victim type using multiple regression
analysis, retaining the continuous characteristic of the BJW predictor variable. Results revealed no
significant interaction effects or main effectof BJW on either dependent variable, however, a
significant main effect of victim type was observed.
It is not uncommon for people in unfortunate situations to be cited as the source of their own
troubles. If someone has been mugged walking home, they must have somehow been responsible
by leaving

Jean HonorГ© Fragonard s The Stolen Kiss
Jean HonorГ© Fragonard (1732 1806), was one of the most creative artists of his time,
producing more than 550 works during his life. Fragonard was a product of the later stages of
the Rococo era, a time characterized by hedonistic freedom and a pursuit of all things
aesthetically pleasing. The Rococo era originated from the French decorative style Racaille
meaning decorative shell and rock work (Artble). Frivolous, colorful and gay, the works of Jean
HonorГ© Fragonard float into a spectator s sensory consciousness like pastel confections straight
from a Parisian bakery on a spring day (Artble). Having taken on the role of one of the highest
ranking leaders of the Rococomovement, Fragonard s style of painting demonstrates all that was

This oil on canvas captures the figures ravenous inclination, as their mouths open to full capacity as
if they were going to inhale one another, tongues reaching out attentively amongst rows of what
look to be very sharp teeth. Impassioned hunger and fortitude infused with the tenderness of their
embrace. The same odd dichotomy of passion and gentleness as found in the ocean beyond. One
can almost imagine the bodies rising and falling to the rhythm of the waves lapping the shoreline.
Both figures are in ecstasy. The female figure closes her eyes and beckons the pleasure, while the
man s eyes remain open with concentrated intent (Poeticalbeauty). The lovers form is sculptural,
like stone worn down smoother over the years by the wind and sea. Not only are they made
intertwined with each other, but also with the natural elements of the surrounding environment.
They exist shaped together in an erotic affair of curved limbs, the chests forming an evidently
human climax to the eloquent shape. Their frames glow golden in the light of day, while a small
beach hut adds an almost whimsical domestication to the

The present work, therefore, was conducted to evaluate the role of glycine betaine in protecting the proteins inleucerne plants through protease enzyme activity from being damaged by salt stress. On the basis of our results we discuss the response of leucerne plants to salt stress and glycine betaine. MATERIALS AND METHODS Purification of Protease The leucerne plant leaves are procured from 70 days old plants and allowed to stand for two days in a humidity controlled dark growth chamber at 340C. The leaves were homogenized with 0.1M phosphate buffer (pH 7.0) containing 0.4M sucrose and 0.05M sodium ascorbate in a waring blender. Filtered homogenate was (I in Table 1) was squeezed through a gauze and centrifuged at 2000 rpm for 20 mins. The supernatant (II in Table 1) was adjusted to pH 5.0 by the addition of 1N acetic acid and allowed to stand overnight. The precipitate was removed by centrifugation and the supernatant (III in Table 1) was subjected to ammonium sulphate fractionation between 0.25 and 0.9 saturation. The ammonium sulphate precipitate was suspended in 0.0025M Mc llvain buffer (pH 5.5) containing 2.5 Г— 10 3 M sodium ascorbate and dialyzed against the same buffer at 40C for 20 hrs. The dialysate (IV in Table 1) was centrifuged and the supernatant was fractionated by the addition of ethanol at 50C. • 3. Limited Liability Companies ( Llcs ) Essay Limited Liability Companies (LLCs) Rationale. The advent of the limited liability company in the 1990 s came about primarily to promote small business start ups by providing substantial asset protection, simpler rules, and favorable state and local tax treatments (Millon, 2007; Riles Whitlock, 2003: Vandervoort, 2004). LLCs are also typically easier and less expensive to form and manage than a corporationand quickly became the entity of choice (Hopson Hopson, 2014). Similarities to corporations. Like corporations, LLCs are separate legal entities, and as with the shareholders of corporations, the members of LLCs are provided significant asset protection from creditors and other stakeholders (Riles Whitlock, 2003) by limiting the liability to the amount of the capital contribution (Albert, 2015). This shifts the risk of failure and insolvency from the members to the creditors (Millon, 2007). Differences from corporations. Many of the differences between LLCs and corporations have been the crux in the area of litigation, the first being the lack of corporate formalities. Unlike a corporation, an LLC can be managed by its members or appointed managers and does not require periodic meetings. Although every state now has LLC legislation (Albert, 2015) which impose default fiduciary duties, these duties can be modified or eliminated altogether by the members of the LLC (Raju Remming, 2012). As opposed to corporations following FASB ASC 105 Generally ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Assault By Harry Mulisch Essay In The Assault by Harry Mulisch, the themes of guilt and innocence are highly prevalent throughout its storyline and are more often than not related to each other. In these situations, Mulisch employs his diverse cast of characters, their motives, and their fates to intertwine these themes and create a morally ambiguous political thriller that leaves the audience unsure of a definite resolution. The first set of characters Mulisch employs is the Ploeg family. When Fake Ploeg is murdered in the beginning of the novel, Anton recalls him as being the greatest murderer and traitor in Haarlem (Mulisch 17), immediately informing the audience that he was intensely disliked among his community. Later, the reader learns that he was a Nazi collaborator... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After questioning her about why she and her father chose to place the body in front of his house as opposed to the other neighbors, such as the Aarteses, she replied that her father had said, No, not there. They re hiding Jews! (Mulisch 183). This astonishes both the audience and Anton by providing the final piece to the puzzle they have been trying to solve over the course of this novel. With this revelation, Mulisch also applies the themes of innocence and guilt by exhibiting how these characters were arguably at fault for the death of Anton s family without actively participating, and by being in danger, those three people had unknowingly saved themselves and the lives of two others (184). Mulisch leaves Anton pondering if everyone [was] both guilty and not guilty? Was guilt innocent and innocence guilty? (184) to inspire an internal debate within the reader while leaving him or her with a vague and unresolved conclusion to the novel to finalize his application of linking the themes of guilt and ... A teenager on his or her crucial stages of development, have not fully developed the skill of decision making. Thus pressure one feels from peers and the persistent exposure to the act can cause the individual to eventually indulge in underage drinking for social acceptance. The struggle to fit in is always a constant issue amongst our teenagers in this generation. And underage drinking has been a status qualifier that signifies a person s dominance and liberation. This is why most peers would encourage themselves to engage in such habits. Apart from that, without proper guidance and supervision from parents or guardians, teenagers most likely are at risk to engage in underage drinking. Without the reinforcement, they will grow up to believe that such habit is a form of mere socialization and not a fatal grip for their future. Guidance is truly relevant. Without it, one day you may realize the effect of underage drinking is very much morbid or worse, irreversible. Lastly, a negative family environment is truly a major factor that molds a teen s young mind into what is socially acceptable and what is not. If alcohol drinking is freely displayed at home, then this kind of notion is most likely hardwired on the teenagers subconscious mind causing him/her to be very much okay with the set up. A negative family environment will most likely cause the individual to engage in negative coping mechanisms: such as underage drinking. The Message in Spike Lee s Movie Do the Right Thing In an attempt to enlighten audiences with a powerful message about the cancer that hate and violence can bring to a society; writer, director, Spike Lee brings Do the Right Thing to the screen. Fusing a powerful story with creative film making, Lee gives us an insider s look at life on a blistering summer day in Brooklyn. To create an atmosphere that both looks and almost literally feels like possibly the hottest day of the year, Lee uses orange and yellow filters throughout the film. For example, in many scenes as the camera follows the action it is shaky rather than sturdy, as if you as a viewer are walking around and seeing the action through your own eyes. One may also notice that an escalated level of action or conversation on the screen is mirrored by the pace of the film from frame to frame. In essence, a heated argument would involve a quick paced transition of shots, going from a close up of one character to another at a rapid pace in tune with the argument. At the beginning of the film, we are introduced to a wide variety of characters. Mayor, an older gentleman with a drinking problem, portrays neutrality in the film that is in sharp contrast to the racism and discrimination that is harbored in most of the cast. Throughout the story, Lee has a way of making this hatred between characters seem ridiculous to the point where it becomes humorous. Perhaps as a way to make the audience look at hate as a joke, and to see it that way in their own lives. However, slowly we begin to see that the hate towards others is stemming from frustrations within their own lives, and is taken out on others in increasingly more harmful ways. In the end, we see this escalating hate lead to violence and in turn to destruction for everybody. The reoccurring appearance of the photograph of Martin Luther King Jr. and ... Most evidence today support the concept that the pathology of rheumatoid arthritis has its bases in an inflammatory response involving the immune system. Other theory of causation include genetic factors, infectious agents and an antigen antibody response. It is unlikely that a single factor is responsible for all cases of rheumatoid arthritis. Pathophysiology The main physiologic changes associated with rheumatoid arthritis include synovial membrane proliferation followed by erosion of the subarticular cartilage and subchondral bone. Although the exact etiology of RA is unknown, enormous evidence points to a series of immunologic events. Specific major histocompatibility complex (HMC) class 11 allele and human leukocyte antigen (HLA) are seen more frequently in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. The pathogenesis begins with stimulation of B and T lymphocyte and their proliferation which leads to activation of the blood vessel in the synovial membrane. As the synovial membrane enlarges lymphocyte and macrophages moves toward the area to phagocytize the invading antigen. Epidemiology The prevalence of rheumatoid arthritis in the U.S is now estimated to be 1.29 million people or 0.6 percent of the population. • 14. Political Differences Between Eastern And Western Europe Before period 3 came the fall of many great empires across the world. Han China and Gupta India were falling to invaders and revolts. However, one of the most important downfalls of an empire in the classical period was the fall of the Roman Empire. Due to many contributing factors, Rome broke apart towards the end of period 2 and changed the entirety of Europeand the Middle East. This fall more importantly increased the divide between Eastern and Western Europe. After the fall of Rome, the administrations of Western and Eastern Europeshowed more drastic differences in both centralization and religion. However, even with this major differences they still shared the same ambitions and values. One of the primary differences between Eastern and Western Europe in period 3 is their respective governments or more specifically the centralization of them. The major nation in the East was the Byzantines. They are known for being extremely centralized and having a very large bureaucracy. While on the other hand, Western Europe was split into many smaller areas and states, each having very loose organization. The paramount example of a noncentralized Europe is the governing system. This system was feudalism, a political system that spreads power and control amongst lords and their vassals. While the king has a lot of power, feudalism does not allow for a heavily centralized government. With the Byzantines it is almost the opposite. Most of the power was given to the emperor. The ... On today s episode, we ll be focusing on the Australian film industry, and more specifically, how the gothic trope of the Australian outback is manipulated to present Australian identity. One of the better examples of this manipulation is the movie Australia, directed by Baz Lurhman. Lurhman has used narrative, aesthetic and cinematic techniques to distort and manipulate the gothic trope throughout the film. Gothic is known as the literary, artistic and architectural style which originated in the 12th century (Wikipedia, 2016). The basic concept of the gothic style consists of fear, horror and strangely eccentric ideas (Anon. 2016). Similarly, the gothic trope of Australias outback relates to the harsh, unforgiving ... However this colonial perspective of the trope is corrupted when Nullah forms a bond with Lady Ashley. Their relationship s established after Lady Ashley sings Over the Rainbow from The Wizard of Oz to Nullah. The tune then becomes the motif which plays when they re together. It can be assumed that as a British woman, Lady Ashley represents the settlers. Therefore, the closeness her and Nullah share symbolises how un threatening Aboriginals really are and subverts the tropes colonial perspective. The pair s bond also challenges another element of the trope; the construction of Aboriginals as figures haunting the Australian landscape (Turcotte, G. 1998). Not even four minutes into the film, the audience is given a scene in which Nullah and his grandfather, King George, are wandering the land and learning to hunt. This establishes the relationship Aboriginal people share with the land; as if the land is their home and backbone (Korff, J. 2016). • 17. Peace Synthesis Essay Authors such as John Lederach, Jarat Chopra, and Tanja Hohe explain that one of the worst ways to go about building peace in a post conflict country is to approach it with an overly westernized strategy. Doing so leads to a failure to create public support for the new government and an ultimate failure to create lasting peace. Jarat Chopra, and Tanja Hohe explain that a far more effective strategy is one of integration. They believe that it is irresponsible to eliminate traditional structures of governance if they have been successful in the past at promoting peace. The goal of integration is to take traditional local sources of governance and use them to establish a better refined national government. This leads to a wider adoption rate of post conflictgovernment and prevents power vacuums from occurring. • 19. Credit Card Theft Is Not For Hard Working Consumers... No matter what precautions are taken, credit and debit card fraud will remain an enemy to hard working consumers everywhere. Credit card thieves can use a variety of methods to attack the consumer. ATMs can be used to steal information from a debit card transaction. Online predators can steal credit card information through a click of a button. Stores can also be targeted through the use of data mining in the magnetic card readers. Persistent consumer vigilance is needed if credit cardtheft is to be avoided. ATM machines with exorbitant fees have been thought to be acting as highway robbers, now they may even have a thieving companion; Card scanners. By stealing the information off the credit card as it is swiped the consumer is not even aware they have been attacked. Even if the consumer is careful to hide their hand as they enter the PIN in order to withdraw money from an ATM, the larcenist might still have a hidden camera or card reader to steal the card information. Erin Lowry, a content director for a popular magazine was a victim of two different attacks on her credit identity; she had $600 stolen from her account after using a shady ATM with a hidden scanner inside. Though, the Nazi movement is much more well known, both movements used similar tactics and involved comparable people. The Goal Both the Nazi Political Movemen,t in Germany, and the post World War II/Cold War attacks on homosexuals, were driven by similar goals. At the beginning of Nazi Germany, it was only homosexuals in power or homosexuals that were accused of trying to convert people to homosexuality that were punished heavily, then as the movement progressed, anyone suspected of being homosexual was sent to a concentration camp. Similarly, the Lavender Scare escalated from only openly homosexual people being suspected to full on police raids and interrogation. As the two movements got a foothold in their respective countries, they became increasingly fanatical. Before their respective anti homosexual movements, Washington DC and Berlin both had thriving gay and lesbian communities with social outlets and general acceptance, but as time went on, the two societies turned hostile to homosexuals with the prodding of the leaders of the two movements. An inclusive national identity can serve as a means for the development of belonging, and this globally acclaimed notion of diversity is attractive for nations struggling to find their footing in the international community. Looking towards the future, the key to achieving this inclusion is the use of culture, specifically employing music as a tool of integration. However, the decisive variable here is adolescents. Though these popular music forms may be the music of the people, they are ultimately dictated by the youth. In modern times, music is integral for youth as they delve into discourses of identity and equality, so focusing in on marginalized youth gives the government an opportunity to explore attitudes and national inclusion among individuals who are in a critical period of development. Even though teens are influenced by their parents beliefs during childhood before advancing their own views, youth are ultimately the starting point for incorporating ostracized groups into nationalist discourses because they are the developers and executors of music movements. Furthermore, the attitudes of young people regarding inclusion and exclusion provide an indication for the sustainability of such diverse national identities in the future. The story was originally published in 1966 in Shepherd s collection of semi autobiographical short stories called In God We Trust, All Others Pay in Cash, as well as in Playboy Magazine. Bob Clarks 1983 A Christmas Story is an adaptation of a mixture of Shepherd s short stories including Red Ryder Nails the Hammond Kid and a skit he heard on a radio talk show in 1968. In the story, Ralph Parker is looking back on his childhood after a woman expresses her opinion on disarming the toy industry. However, the movie opens inside Ralph s childhood with an adult Ralph as the narrator. This change does not take away from the story, though. It allows the audience to be put right into the action of the story rather than making the audience wait for something to happen that causes the narrator to look back on their life. Secondly, Clark adds to the relationships within Ralph s family. In the story, the reader does not read much about the people in the family. From the story, the reader knows that Ralph s father or as Ralph calls him, the Old Man has a temper and a tendency to swear. The Old Man is a very hardworking man who is always fixing things, ... Climate change is a change of environment patterns. In specific the change was obvious from the mid to late 20th century. The reason of the dramatic change was due to large increased levels of atmospheric carbon dioxide produced by the use of fossil fuels. We as people can barely or see no change at all. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Both the tragic heroes are troubled by supernatural visits and nightmares. Both have ethical and moral dilemmas , nevertheless, Hamlet is much more scholarly and agonized than Orestes who better fits in the robe of a Classical Greek revenge hero. Jessica Price observes: An onslaught of tragic elements appear in both Hamlet and The Oresteia. Hamlet s hamartia in William Shakespeare s Hamlet leads to his succumbing to corruption and his eventual demise. In The Oresteia by Aeschylus, Orestes hamartia takes a slightly different course, causing him to stumble, but not completely fall. While Orestes never indulges in long existential speeches or philosophical thinking Hamlet delays the action in his endless quest for a right answer. Hamlet is not faced with the terrible commitment of killing his own mother. He has to kill his uncle to whom one is not as dearly related as a son is to his mother. Still he does not consider it right to kill his uncle on an apparitions command. He puts him to test to affirm what his father s ghost said. He arranges a play based on the actual event of king s murder to be performed before his uncle and mother and note their responses to it. Even after his suspicion is validated he cannot bring himself round to kill his uncle. He wants to heal what has been hurt, make right what is wrong, do the justice but deep inside he does not want to kill Claudius. Orestes, on the other hand, right ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Impact Of Tax Structure Of The United Arab Emirates Currently, the United Arab Emirates does not have a federal corporate income tax (CIT) regime; however, most of the Emirates introduced income tax decrees in the late 1960s, and taxation is therefore determined on an Emirate by Emirate basis. Under the Emirate based tax decrees, CIT may be imposed on all companies (including branches and permanent establishments [PEs]) at rates of up to 55%. However, in practice, CIT is currently only enforced in respect of corporate entities engaged in the production of oil and gas or extraction of other natural resources in the United Arab Emirates. In addition, some of the Emirates have their own specific banking tax decrees, which impose CIT on branches of foreign banks at the rate of 20% After the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 45. What Have the Attitudes and Actions of People in Billy... HSC 2008 Question 12 Elective 2: Into the world (20 marks) Question: What have the attitudes and actions of people in your texts revealed to you about venturing into society? In your response refer your prescribed texts and TWO texts of your own choosing. The attitudes and actions of the various characters within my chosen text shed light on the experiences individuals may encounter upon venturing into society. These characters reveal experiences of overcoming the sexual prejudices and stereotypes which are present in the world as well as dealing with the death of a love one. Both these experiences can be observed through the lives of the characters in the film, Billy Elliot, directed by Stephen Daldry. These can also be seen mirrored ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another experience of such prejudice can be perceived in the actions of the mother of Vorn, a boy within the clan. She encourages her son to give orders to Alya she believes that he is learning to behave just like a man . The composer s use of verbatim in this line encapsulates the strong sexual bias held against women within the tribe as well as supports the stereotypical roles of males and females. Furthermore the composer demonstrates another representation of gender stereotypes in the actions of Iza, the woman who adopted Alya. In a conversation between Iza and Creb, Iza expresses her concern for Alya s future. She states that she s not attractive and asks What chance will she ever have to mate? What will happen to her when she becomes a woman? If she doesn t mate, she will have no status. The composer has clearly again expressed the tribe s attitudes through the repetition of rhetorical questions. This underscores the towns gender stereotyping as Iza demonstrates a clear concern that Alya will not fulfil her role in society. Together, these three experiences of gender prejudice and a clear male bias reveal to us a holistic understanding of the attitudes encountered when entering into a society of sexual injustice, such as Ayla s world. Moreover another experience of venturing into society revealed within the film Billy Elliot is the experience of dealing with the death of a loved one or family member. Towards the ... • 46. Factors Affecting Juror Behavior Towards Perpetrators and... Our current study examines juror behaviour towards perpetrators and victims in a criminal trial setting. Taken into account, are two factors hypothesized to influence the judicial outcome of criminal trials in Canada and the United States. Primarily, that a juror s level of belief in a just world (BJW) influences his or her decisions towards both the perpetrator and victim, with those jurors measuring higher in BJW being more apt to blame the victim for his or her own misfortune. Second, that the relationship between BJW and the victim blamingbehaviour of the juror is mediated by whether the victim is portrayed as innocent, having done nothing to deserve victimization; or portrayed as non innocent, having contributed to their own misfortune through careless or immoral behaviour. We analyzed data for main effects of both BJW and victim type on outcome variables perpetrator sentencing and victim monetary compensation. Data was further analyzed for possible interaction effects between BJW and victim type using multiple regression analysis, retaining the continuous characteristic of the BJW predictor variable. Results revealed no significant interaction effects or main effectof BJW on either dependent variable, however, a significant main effect of victim type was observed. It is not uncommon for people in unfortunate situations to be cited as the source of their own troubles. If someone has been mugged walking home, they must have somehow been responsible by leaving ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 47. Jean HonorГ© Fragonard s The Stolen Kiss Jean HonorГ© Fragonard (1732 1806), was one of the most creative artists of his time, producing more than 550 works during his life. Fragonard was a product of the later stages of the Rococo era, a time characterized by hedonistic freedom and a pursuit of all things aesthetically pleasing. The Rococo era originated from the French decorative style Racaille meaning decorative shell and rock work (Artble). Frivolous, colorful and gay, the works of Jean HonorГ© Fragonard float into a spectator s sensory consciousness like pastel confections straight from a Parisian bakery on a spring day (Artble). Having taken on the role of one of the highest ranking leaders of the Rococomovement, Fragonard s style of painting demonstrates all that was exalted... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This oil on canvas captures the figures ravenous inclination, as their mouths open to full capacity as if they were going to inhale one another, tongues reaching out attentively amongst rows of what look to be very sharp teeth. One can almost imagine the bodies rising and falling to the rhythm of the waves lapping the shoreline. Both figures are in ecstasy. The female figure closes her eyes and beckons the pleasure, while the man s eyes remain open with concentrated intent (Poeticalbeauty). The lovers form is sculptural, like stone worn down smoother over the years by the wind and sea.
