Southern Colonies Dbq
Over the course of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, many origins of people arrived in the new
world. Whether it had been for religious, economic, or other various reasons, the groups of people all
ended up in the same region. The New England Colonies and the Southern Colonies were the two
distinct societies that were set up in the new world. The New England and Southern Colonies had
many differences and similarities centered on reasons for arrival, slavery, forms of government and
economy. The people who arrived in the areas of the New England and Southern Colonies during the
seventeenth century, came for different reasons, or had a different purpose for why they came. The
New England colonies were founded under the influence ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The New England economy in 1700 relied heavily on the Atlantic Trade and the government was
made up of Royal Colonies controlled by the King . With merchants in New England controlling the
dealings within the trade and the use of the trade made them very successful . For example, the
merchant s living in Boston who were very successful within the Atlantic Trade ended up owning half
of city s wealth . With the growing success within the Atlantic Trade (Triangle Trade), commerce
began to compete with the role of religion in the New England Colonies . The New England Colonies
roots were so rich in religion and transforming themselves into a godly society, and then commerce
began to be looked at with the same importance as religion. This was a drastic change from what the
New Englanders originally stood for and changed many aspects of society. For example, when cash
within the government was low, the leaders began selling land to individuals within the community,
which ended the church s authority in granting land to church members . In other words, money
became the ultimate way to get land instead of by belonging to the church. Also with the ability to buy
land whenever you pleased, the people of New England began to move to individual farms, creating

Framework For Analysis.Charter Schools Are Independent
Framework for Analysis Charter Schools are independent from the administrative structure of the
school district that allowed its creation. However, the terms of the abiding contract between the
charter school and the district school board should be the guideline for its evaluation. Essex (2008)
explains the Fifth Amendment clause as, due process requires fundamental fairness, faire process, and
faire procedures (p.83). All children deserve the same quality education and opportunities than any
other child in the nation. Therefore, equal accountability should be measured with equal standards.
Standard 2 of the Florida Principal Leadership Standards states that effective school leaders, generates

Therefore, it was on the hands of the educators to create that blueprint from scratch. The educators at
the new learning center were inexperienced and did not have the necessary skills to create a common
core standards of minimum learning for all students. Moreover, they had so many responsibilities,
beside the already daunting task of teaching, that they could not keep up with students behavior.
However, their inexperience was evidenced when they decided to minimize the data results from the
standardized test as something with minimal importance compared to their opinions on the students
progress. Bambrick Santoyo (2010) lists his key drivers for implementing a rubric that would help the
educators with data analysis. He suggests that educators should not dismiss test results because they
will affect the future of their students. The author states, data driven schools work best when they
prepare students for the world as it is, not someone s idea of how the world ought to be (p.87). Even
when every new educational model starts with an idea, the data is paramount in the accountability
process. The educators at the charter school should have used the opportunity given by the math test
results to start an action plan that would have guide them

Essay On Rural Retrirification
SIGNFICANCE OF THE STUDY
This study is important because it will guide the Government in future for making decision on
expanding rural electrification program in areas without electricity and it will also encourage private
participation in coming up with Mini Electrical Energy generation in rural areas like mini hydro, wind
and Solar. It will also serve as a reference for ensuring that the Government has proper documentation
on this area so that these positive impacts of rural electrification will be clearly supported by proper
documentation and hence this will help the Government to secure more funding from Donors to
further rural electrification programs It is believed that the availability and reliability of information

Remote or rural regions lacking electricity supply face a lot of challenges for them to get connected to
Electricity. They may lie at a reasonable distance from national or regional electricity grids (remote
villages in the Amazon) and may have difficulties in getting connected to Electricity (far from urban
centers with a difficult terrain such as large rivers or jungles). Naturally they may suffer harsh climatic
conditions that render electrification through grid extension a perilous task . In adding to these
challenges, the rural poor areas without access to electricity either spend relatively large amounts of
their scarce financial resources on energy, or a disproportionate amount of time collecting firewood
from the jungle or also lead to depletion of natural resources.
Rural electrification can have a positive impact on social and economic development in the
households, farms and establishments . If rural areas are electrified they may lead to certain changes
or social/economic development at the village level as well as at the household level. At both levels,
these changes might involve employment, incomes, productivity and others. In the agricultural sector,
rural electrification might lead to changes in irrigated area enhancing changes in cropping intensity
and cropping pattern, which in turn leads to changes in the use of factors of

Gingivitis And Periodontal Disease
Periodontal disease has two categories to classify that is known as gingivitis and periodontitis.
Periodontal disease is known as a bacteria infection that induces an inflammatory response in the
periodontal tissue (230 Gehrig,J).
Gingivitis is a bacterial infection that just invade the gingiva, without any bone attachment loss. The
connective tissue is damaged at this point, but still can be reversed with good oral hygiene and route
dental visits. Most common bacteria associated with gingivitis would be due to dental plaque biofilm.
Dental plaque biofilm can invade the gingiva at different rates depending on the individual, and
possibly going through three stages, which are initial, early and established lesions. Gingivitis is

My MBA Program
Prior to completing my MBA program, a couple of my professors approached me and asked if I was

fear of failing and financing was holding me back. The professors were very supportive and
encouraging and assured me I would be successful. In addition, the professors let me know they didn t
encourage everyone to continue, but believed in me and offered to write letters of recommendation.

In addition, I have enjoyed learning the business canvas model elements and applying them to the
scholarly articles. In the beginning the process was overwhelming, but I ve learned to enjoy the
readings and gain the necessary information through deconstruction and meal plan process.
Furthermore, I continue to learn to effectively and efficiently synthesis my findings and relate them to
the company information. However, it difficult not to go off topic when the information is truly
interesting. In addition, researching and learning about the different companies has been very
interesting and applying the different aspects of business is helping me understand the various
business models and the decisions companies make in relation to areas of business like strategies,
CSR, knowledge management, and value propositions. Another area of concentration is continue
learning and developing the use and application of APA format. Often, I get caught up in the
deconstruction, synthesizing, applying MEAL that I fall short on APA format for, example, citations.
In addition, I get confused by some of the APA applications. Thus, I realize that focusing on APA is
imperative moving forward. I will have to go back and utilize the resources available to me in this
area.

My First White Water Fracking Expedition
The excitement of my first whitewater rafting expedition soon evaporated, like an elusive dream. The
rolling, brown waves played a dangerous game of leapfrog before me, turning white for a brief second
before crashing down as their turn concluded. The overpowering roar of the water almost drowned out
the shouting voices of the sun kissed guides. Grab a life jacket and a helmet! Then go by a raft! Hurry
it up, let s move! Feeling not quite as prepared as I would have liked, I was nonetheless ushered onto a
blue raft. We were told to shove one foot under the inflatable seat in front of us in order to not capsize
during the excursion. An increasing numbness crept up my leg as my foot began to throb, diverting my
attention for only a moment. The high pitched squeals and yells of those already meandering down the
river snapped me out of my daze as I looked around to assure that my largest fear had not come true
for someone else. A small ripple ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The tip of my plastic paddle plunged into the dirty water below me in a furious down and back
motion. Sprays and mists of water lashed onto my face as a form of payback for disrupting the river s
fluid movement. My eyelids blinked rapidly in an effort to remove the water from my eyes, for I could
not risk letting go of the paddle. The river carried our raft in a rapid up, down, and side to side roller
coaster motion. All of a sudden a mammoth wave sprung up before our eyes, tempting us to stay on
the thin edges of the raft. The six of us ducked into the shallow bed of the raft and screamed in a
combination of both excitement and fear. After it had passed, we quickly popped our heavily saturated
selves back up and continued to obey the shouting commands of our guide. His expertise of the
voyage gave me the reassurance I needed to become comfortable. A natural routine developed, and a

I have always been passionate about math and physics, and in high school, I excelled in both. As I
approached university, I was faced with a dilemma: should I pursue engineering or science? It was a
single, seemingly trivial incident that led to a moment of clarity and solidified my decision: it started
with fiddling with a pen in class. I took it apart, examining the mechanisms and playing around with
all the little parts. As I sat there with a deconstructed pen strewed across my desk, something occurred
to me: if a person uses a pen to write, he s made for the arts; if a person throws it in the air and
watches gravity pull it back, she s made for science; and if someone takes a pen apart to see how it
works piecing together the relationship of the spring to the push mechanism, inspecting the efficiency
of the inkwell he s made for engineering. I realized that I had always loved disassembling objects and,
more often than not, putting them back together fascinated with how things work and what I could do
to make them work better. This led me to a degree in engineering, which has become my passion. ...

Caligari And Metropolis
The banned of foreign films by the German government led to an increase of domestic film
productions, giving way for film artist to embrace the change and experiment with bold ideas and
artistic styles to make up for their lack of budgets. Such film includes The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari
(Robert Wiene, 1920) and Metropolis (Fritz Lang, 1927) often dealt with plots concerning with
insanity, betrayal, authority and other issues that were triggered by WWI. This paper will primarily
discuss on how these silent films disregard realism because of Germany s unconventional shift
towards Modernism and its socio political conditions. The second part of this paper will enlighten on
how German Expressionist film acts as an influence in the cinematic world.

Caligari and Metropolis identify as an Expressionist film mainly because of its unusual lighting, the
stylisation of the sets and dramatic acting (Elsaesser 20). The practitioner were also able to produce, a
set of gothic study materials, fairytale motifs, angular exteriors, claustrophobic interiors and above all

trends practiced by Expressionist artist help to create subjective perspectives in the German s
cinematic world, distorting it radically in order to stir emotional effects, and evoking progressive
moods and ideas for the spectators. Clearly, these socially progressive trends of activism to create, and
improve conventional films through experiments and the use of techniques that draws attention is a
typical act of Modernism (Berman 16). With their gradual modernistic ideas, German Expressionist

Analyse The Importance Of Early Intervention In Children
I have learnt that language can be cognitive, material or social (Gee Hayes, 2011). Some view
language as a set of social conventions, shared by a group of people about how to communicate such
as classroom or sporting rules, often supplied in books and followed by people. Children don t read
books so social conventions need to be taught by modelling behaviour and communication.
With the exception of severe disabilities or social problems, all humans acquire language as a core of
basic property of their humanity called vernacular which is used in everyday life Gee Hayes (2011, p.
8). I believe that this is why early intervention is so important; not to label a child; but to better
support them for further education. Most humans can learn

Analysis Of The Celebrated Jumping Frog From Calaveras County
Is Mark Twain trying to be funny by the contrasting cultures or is there something deeper? Samuel
Langhorne Clemens, a famous author and publisher who is mostly known by his pen name of Mark
Twain. He was born in Florida, Missouri in November of 1835 to parents Jane and John Clemens. His
father died when he was 13 and Samuel left school and became a printer s apprentice and throughout
the next several years moved up to become an editorial assistant. In 1858 he became a river pilot
which is where he got his name of Mark Twain meaning safe to navigate. In 1865, Twain was first
published in the New York Saturday Press for his writing of The Celebrated Jumping Frog from
Calaveras County . This short story made him well known and was the first of many writings to lead
the way for him to become known as America s famous literary writer. Mark Twain was married, had
four children and passed away on April 21, 1910. His short story, The Celebrated Jumping Frog from
Calaveras County shows Twains ability to tell two stories in one. What starts as a story of an innocent
search for a friend and later graduates into a frog race full of satire. Mark Twain in The Celebrated
Jumping Frog from Calaveras County shows cultural clash by using diction, irony, deception and
contrast between the cultures.

Silence In The Play Trifles
The play Trifles takes place during 1957 when women were silenced; they were only addressed and
not spoken to or able to speak. They were not able to vote or partake in any dominant activities.
Nevertheless, we see both females, Mrs. Peters and Mrs. Hale, form a silent sisterly bond while
unintentionally uncovering motives for Mr. Wrights murder. The women were not given permission to
help with the crime, while gathering items which Mrs. Wright had requested but they did it with
natural senses due to activities they take on within the household as well.
Therefore silence is firstly seen in the play when Mrs. Wright says She would wear pretty clothes and
be lively, when she was Minnie Foster, one of the town girls singing in the choir (Glaspell) says Mrs.
Hale, but that was thirty years ago before she married Mr. Wright and all her liveliness left her. When

Hale is also silent by slipping the box under quilt pieces and adding more quilt pieces over the bird to
hide evidence. She becomes silenced because she knows what being a farm wife does and how much
work is put into it. She also feels horrible for never visiting for over a year and sympathizes quickly
and feels the need to be silent in protecting Mrs. Wright.
Nevertheless Mr. Wright and the canary are seen as most silenced in the play. Mr. Wright wrung the
neck of the canary and that caused Mrs. Wright to snap, because then she strangles her husband. He
had killed the only thing that gave her joy while living in silence. Mr. Wright is also seen as a silent
man because he didn t want to place a telephone line in the house that Mr. Hale had suggested. Both
deaths were the biggest silencers of the play. Just as the bird was lived in a cage and was silenced so
did Minnie Foster. Disconnecting from the people and becoming silent made her home the bird cage

Bob Marley Get USand Up Analysis
Get up Stand up was written in 1973 and was written by Bob Marley and Peter Tosh in the group : The
Wailers, published in the album : Legend, by Chrysalis One Music (Metrolyrics, n.d). Furthermore,
their source of inspiration was mainly influenced by their Jamaican upbringing. In essence, the song is
about the fight for acceptance of their Rastafarian religion and the need to take action to avoid
oppression.
The meaning behind the lyrics can be interpreted as both religious and anti religious. On the other
hand, the line, `Get up, stand up: stand up for your rights, can be seen as a rallying call for the people
to stand up and demand respect for the Rastafarian religion. Firstly, the fundamental message that he
brings across is that religion is something personal, it is fine to have certain religious beliefs, but it is
not acceptable when you ram it in someone else s throat. He elaborates on the need for mutual respect
for others beliefs. In addition, the lines, Preacher man don t tell me, heaven is under the earth, I know

Network Security enhancement using Software Defined Networking Technologies Software Defined
Networking (SDN) is a pattern of new technologies for permitting more prominent control of how
networks work. As opposed to a genuinely static network that must be controlled by exclusive
merchant particular protocols, with at times restricted deceivability into the internals of layer 2
gadgets like switches, SDN considers experimentation in enhancing and arranging how the network
functions. Furthermore, SDN can be controlled utilizing product server equipment, which can add to

If it s a large network consisting of so many networking devices, then it would be difficult to
configure each and every device with these security measures as it takes a lot of time to do so. Further
more, many network attacks are taking shape these days and their effects on the network are
unpredictable. So if a new attack comes and if a security measure is developed against the attack, then
it should be updated in each and every network device in a network, which will be a very tedious job
to do. This is the current trend running in the networking environment. In our project we are
implementing these security measures over SDN, as it provides a centralized controller for the
network. If we just configure these security measures in the centralized controller, then the entire
network, which is under the control of this particular controller, can be secured. Thus it saves a lot of
time and effort. And if a new network attack comes into the network, then the security measure against
this network attack can be configured inside the controller, so that it can be applied to the whole
network, which is under the control of this controller instead of changing each and every networking
device configuration in a network. Software Defined Networks (SDN), as we utilize this as a part of
the execution of the task. Software Defined Networks is a

Artificial Selection And Its Effects On Our Health
It would probably surprise most people to learn that broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, kale, and kohlrabi
all hail from wild cabbage (Brassica oleracea), due to a process called artificial selection. Over
thousands of years humanity has manipulated plants and animals using artificial selection. However,
we now have a different process called genetic engineering, which opens new doors to countless
applications such as, genetically modifying plants to become cold, resistant. Traditionally we would
have to rely on artificial selection, but now we can manipulate the genetic material of organisms.
However, with new technology comes an issue of environmental impact. The very same organisms
that we create can become exceedingly detrimental to the environment it s ecosystems. Concerns on
the effects of these organisms on our health are justified as they can be a benefit or detriment. To
better appreciate genetic engineering, we first must explore artificial selection and its history. Artificial
selection is the process in which humans breed organisms based on physical traits they want to further
enhanced or eliminate, in a way artificial selection relies heavy on the phenotype of the organism.
Which is the physical trait expressed by genes. An example would be the domestication of the dog.
Around 15,000 to 16,000 years ago, we began to breed wolves and actively select for tameness. Li et
al. (2013), found this rapid evolution was probably driven by artificial selection during the

I Am Legend Research Paper
I Am Legend vs The Land of the Dead: The Evolution of the Zombie Subgenre When examining the
horror film subgenre of zombies, it is imperative to look at the evolution of the creatures, and
determine why the newer films are typically superior to their older counterparts. Directors tend to
adapt zombie films in order to fit the fears and the experience of a modern audience, which is why the
films continue to improve. This is obvious even in the short time span of about three years. The film I
am Legend, which was released late in 2007, and was directed by Francis Lawrence. Lawrence

This film focuses on the post apocalyptic city of New York City, where the last man in the city, Robert
Neville, is fighting to survive, while seeking a cure to the disease that caused the zombies to arise. The
only companionship that Neville is able to find is in his dog, Sam. Despite his isolation, Neville
remains determined, believing that he can still fix this and that he will light up the darkness (I Am
Legend). The most fascinating theme in this film is also the most subtle. I am Legend contains a
religious undertone, which many of the viewers will not notice the first time that they watch the film.
Neville is portrayed as the resurrection of Christ, as he sacrifices his life to the discovery of the
vaccine, and the welfare of humanity. Butterflies, which symbolize the resurrection of Christ, are also
seen several times in this film, which only adds to the religious theme. Neville s daughter is shown
making a butterfly for her father before she and her mother attempt to flee the city. Also, there is a
butterfly tattoo on the woman that Neville sacrifices his life for, by hiding her in a shaft while he
confronts the zombies. Overall, I am Legend has a wider variety of themes than Land Of the Dead,
and therefore is more enjoyable to watch, as one needs to pay close attention to truly understand the

Ukiyo E Influence On Society
For over 250 years, Japan was under a strict military dictatorship, oppressing the social classes of their
freedom to explore literature and the arts. However, from the 1670s through 1865 was the Tokugawa
period, also known as the Edo period, where Japan was guided to internal peace and economic growth
(The Editors of Encyclopædia Britannica). Not only had Japan found stability in the Edo period,
creativity flourished from the lower class of artisans and merchants through the exploration of ukiyo e
printmaking. The term, ukiyo e, is a combination of uki (floating), yo (world), and e (pictures) that

Gilgamesh meets someone who also has the same strength him. The person was Enkidu, who was sent
down from the gods. In the beginning of their friendship, both bumped heads a lot, until they realized
that they both had equal strength. Besides Enkidu it was no one else who had the same strength as
him. The two of them was like Batman and Robin, until Enkidu dies. We witnessed the transformation
of Gilgamesh s heroic indifference to death.... said by Tzvi Abush. I agree with this statement because
The Death of Enkidu had a big impact on Gilgamesh and also his power. The death of Enkidu made

Jonathan Haidt s Hard Times
In the book Hard Times (1856/1995), by Charles Dickens, the citizens of Coketown are faced with
moral situations. The characters have caused emotional harm to others or themselves due to their
decisions. Most of the replies to these moral dilemmas are based on how selfish or selfless these
characters. They can only choose between the choices that value the other people or value themselves.
Two characters that make these decisions are Stephen, a worker at the Hand in Coketown, and Louisa,
the daughter of a teacher in the town. Some of their choices may seem questionable to others. But
most of them can be explained in Jonathan Haidt s book The Righteous Mind. In his book, Haidt
explains about the six moral foundations, two of them ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Us humans are selectively fair to those that have a positive relationship with us and those who have a
negative relationship towards us are known as cheaters.
Cheating
The association between Stephen and his wife is a solid example of the cheating rudiment. He is
making dishonest choices because he does not have a healthy relationship with his wife anymore.
After meeting an old woman, Stephen started thinking about Racheal: He thought of the number of
girls and women she had seen marry...how she had contentedly pursued her own lone quite path for
him. (p.82) When we love someone, we tend to think often about the person we have feelings for. He
is cheating on his wife because he is fantasizing about Racheal instead of his current wife. Later, his
wife was about to drink poison until Racheal came to save her from it. Before drinking the poison,
Stephen s wife passes Stephen, who appears to be asleep. But it turned out that All this time, as if a
spell were on him, he was motionless and powerless, except to watch her. Stephen wasn t asleep.
Rather than saving her from accidentally poisoning, Stephen decided to do nothing but watch her fall
into her death. This is cheating because he would rather have her dead than preventing him from
having a marriage with Racheal. He would sacrifice her only for his satisfaction. Before this event,
Stephen tells Mr. Bounderby that his relationship goes From bad to worse, from worse to worsen. She

Shakespeare s Use of the Idea of Disguise in As You Like It
Shakespeare uses the idea of disguise in many of his plays. It is used as an escape from the characters
personalities and sometimes for comic effect. In As You Like it, the disguise becomes very comical as
in the time it was written only men could act on stage. This could lead to much confusion and comedy
in the roles of those in disguise. Disguise can give the freedom to a character to act how they like and
a chance for them to show their views. It was in the 16th Century that there became an increased sense
of self consciousness and identity. This led to people creating an image for themselves. If one can
create a self, they can create many different versions of themselves each showing a different aspect of
that person. This links in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As she is disguised as Ganymede, this is possible. She would not have been able to do this as a
woman. When she is disguised as a man, more people listen to Ganymede. Although it is the same
person, she can have much more say about her views and opinions when she is disguised as
Ganymede. However, simply because her personality is not accepted as a woman, it does not mean
that she is not presenting it. By showing that she enjoys watching the wrestling, she is revealing her
true personality. She does not have to be disguised as a boy to do this. The disguise may show other
aspects of the character s personality but it is still shown through their everyday person.
Another point to make on this matter would be that the character of Rosalind would have been played
by a male and the audience would know this. This could mean that the reason Shakespeare included
Rosalind s enjoyment of manly sports was because Rosalind is actually a man in the attire of a
woman. There is a large confusion of the gender of Rosalind throughout the play. By confusing the
gender, Shakespeare is focusing more on the personality of Rosalind than her appearance. The
question of gender is continued at the very end of the play. In many of his plays, Shakespeare ends
with an epilogue read by a male character. In As You Like it, the epilogue is performed by Rosalind.
The epilogue seems to be outside the play as if the actor was talking but Rosalind is still in character.

Market Entry Strategies
Market Entry Strategies
Sam C. Okoroafo Modes of Entering Foreign Markets
Okoroafo produced an article detailing a four step strategic model that firms should take into account
when deciding modes of entering foreign markets. The model consists of four steps:
1. Determine the feasible modes of operation (MOO)
There are many modes of operation suggested by many different researchers; however, Some
countries may prohibit use of some MOOs for reasons related to achieving their economic objectives .
This is supported by the suggestion of barriers to entry or threat of new entrants outlined in Porter s
Five Forces model. This is a factor that should be seriously considered by any firm producing
alcoholic beverages as there are more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, this method of market entry may be considered as the European firm will be new to the
Australian market and will need some help in establishing their products and brand.
Joint ventures
When setting up joint ventures and alliances, there is a detailed formal agreement which outlines who
is involved in the business, who owns the assets, the management and control of the business, and
termination of the venture. This means that there is shared risk, shared knowledge and expertise and
ultimately a competitive advantage if two firms are in partnership with each other. However this might
mean that the competition is reduced and therefore Porter s National Diamond framework that
suggests that rivalry and competition strengthens a business national advantage is weaker.
Strategic Alliances, mergers and Acquisitions
A strategic alliance is defined in International business 5th edition (Rugman and Collinson) as a
business relationship in which two or more companies work together to achieve a collective advantage
The benefits of developing a strategic alliance for the European firm would be that they would be able
to acquire knowledge of new markets and technology, develop closer links with their suppliers and
customers and to reduce the pressure of competing with large competitors who are already established
in the Australian market.
If the European firm was to consider a

How I Can Become An Ideal Project Manager
Since I have no experience as a project manager, according what I have collected from above
literatures and what I have perceived in my own point of view, I have the following ideas of how I can
become an ideal project manager.
1. To be a leader
During the past years of working, I have always played the role of team member but never tried to
lead a team to actually accomplish a project, so the most challenging trait for me to learn as a project
manager is to be a leader.
I now know that a project leader should do a lot more than plan, organise, control, coordinate, monitor
and closure. While such activities are all very important and must be correctly done, those functions
are not enough for a good leader to accomplish. That is to say, ... Show more content on

3) Leadership means dealing with risks
During the process of a project, various kind of risk is inevitable because of uncertainties. There is
always possibility for threats which may harm the success or completion of the project.
As a leader, it is best to eliminate the risk before it really cause any loss of the project, which requires
prospective and forward thinking. They are always looking for better ways to take actions on potential
risks. And when risk really happens, leaders should be able to take the procedure to minimize the
adverse effect of a possible loss, which requires fresh information at any time. The leader should be
competent to abstract useful information and find the most efficient ways to deal with risks.
4) Leadership means the ability to motivate those around you
To motivate people to realize their maximum potential, a good leader can is get all the team members
to perform enthusiastically, confidently. As people around you are from different cultures, motivating
implies listening, trusting, empowering, coaching, enable them to work discreetly and creatively.
2. Capable of continual and effective monitor
Control and monitor are an important part of every project manager s job, in this part, the project
manager should always think about how to keep the project on track, on time and within budget.
To be honest, I am not a very persistent man, so keep

The Brain And Its Effects On Human Brain
The brain has four main structures; the Cerebrum, Cerebellum, Limbic System, and the Brain Stem.
The Cerebrum, also known as the Cerebral Cortex, is the largest part of the human brain. It is divided
into four parts that are called lobes : there s the frontal lobe which is linked with reasoning, planning,
parts of speech, emotions, and problem solving the parietal lobe which is linked to movement,
orientation, and recognitions the occipital lobe which is linked to visual processing like object and
spatial recognition, and the fourth one which is the temporal lobe that is linked to the perception and
recognition of memory, speech, and sounds. The Cerebellum, also known as the little brain , is linked
to coordination, movement, posture, and balance. The limbic system usually referred to as the
emotional brain is located inside the cerebrum and it is tied onto our emotions and more importantly,
our survival mode. Lastly, there is the brain stem that is in charge of basic life functions like
breathings, our heart beating, and blood pressure. All of these four brain functions have key important
roles on our everyday lives, but is there anything that can affect them? The brain happens to actually
be affected by many things, either from accidents, or emotional pain that leads to depression, the brain
grows differently depending on its external stimuli, and a great example of this would be music.
Music activates many parts of our brain that not only affect our movement,

Canada Family Structure
Canada is a popular country that neighbors the United States of America and was originally controlled
by the French and British. The nation of Canada has a primarily cold climate and its citizens are
usually stereotyped as friendly and over apologetic. Canada seems to have good relations with many
other countries, which could explain its ethnic and cultural diversity. Despite it s close proximity to
America, the prime family structure of Canada differs slightly. In Canada, there are many families
who don t follow the typical nuclear family structure. A nuclear structure consists of two parents and
their children, while most married couples in Canada do not have children. In Canada in 2011, only
31.9% of family consisted of two parents with children while 35.1% consisted of just a married
couple. Single parents made up 16.3% of the family population, common law couples without children
made up 9.4%, and common law couples without children made up 7.3%. Of all the families with

differ between the cultures. While some families may consist of only a married couple due to choice,
others (such as the First Nations ) are part of this structure due to the death of the child/children or the
inability to reproduce. Other Canadian cultures may not have children due to the lack of economic
security. No matter the reason, it seems as though minor cultures are more likely to have a family of

The Issue Of Corporate Greed
In exploring the issue of corporate greed, especially on Wall Street, we can decide if an issue is
overblown by asking one question, Can a life ruining, economy changing financial crisis be skewed
for dramatic effect? The Big Short tells the story of the financial crisis of 2008 and tackles the issue of
corporate greed in the form of the true stories of a few men who saw the crisis coming. The issue is
not overblown at all. This can be observed by simply looking to the devastation and chaos caused by
banks trying to make money by preying on the poor and un informed in the years following 2008.
Most of us are old enough to remember the mind numbingly large number of people that were affected
in several ways when the housing market crashed. Unfortunately, many are also old enough to have
been directly affected by the choices big banks made for decades. Because there was such a large
event directly caused by the issue of corporate greed, there are plenty examples in daily life to suggest
that The Big Short does not skew the issue for dramatic effect. Almost all economists have weighed in
on the economic failure in journals discussing topics such as corporate greed and the aftermath of the
collapse. In terms of severity, the financial collapse of 2008 is second only to the Great Depression in
American history. This fact alone is enough to prove that The Big Short did not skew the issue for
dramatic effect. But looking deeper into the situation, we can see that

There has been numerous of movies and shows based on historical events. Movie makers remake
movies based on historical events to help people understand in a more modern way. Most people tend

Essay on Ethanol Energy
Since the invention of the internal combustion engine, car makers and consumers have been filling the
gas tank with just that, gasoline. Starting out with leaded gasoline then slowly switching to unleaded
gas in the late 1960s until catalytic converters, a new auto part which can only run on unleaded, were
made mandatory in 1975. However over the past couple decades there have been a new contender in
the fuel marketplace to power consumers cars. Ethanol is defined in World Book Student as a type of
alcohol found in alcoholic beverages and used as an automobile fuel (Sheehan 1). Sometimes called
ethyl alcohol or grain alcohol, has been an additive to gasoline since its introduction. The purpose was

There has been a steady increase in the price of gasoline since the end of 2008 when there was a major
push for ethanol gasoline blends; which are categorized as E10 (10% ethanol, 90% gasoline) and
blends all the way up to E85 (85% ethanol, 15% gasoline). E85 is the highest amount of ethanol allow
for sale in retail, but, in Brazil E100 (100% ethanol) is everywhere. It is not even possible to buy
regular gasoline in Brazil anymore. The reason the price stays up is because it costs extra to
manufacture ethanol and put it in as an additive. The process of harvesting the corn, (which is the
most popular crop in the United States for ethanol) then paying for all of the machinery/workers tends
to get expensive. The simple process to make gasoline starts with: digging for oil at oil fields, then
either shipping the barrels from other countries or from our oil fields to refineries. The oil is then
refined into gasoline, the different companies then pay to rent pipelines to ship the fuel to terminals.
The closest terminal to Rexburg is in Pocatello; it is then put onto different trucks and sent to different
gas stations within the area of that terminal. Ethanol is a solvent, which means that it will eat through
rubber, plastic, fiberglass, and certain types of metals; so it cannot be shipped with the gasoline
through the pipelines to the terminals. If it was shipped with the fuel in the lines the cleaning
properties of the Ethanol would pick up any water,

Melting Pot Metaphor In Terms Of American Culture
Q2: What is the significance of the Melting Pot metaphor in terms of Americans attitudes towards race
and ethnic assimilation? Why was the idea of assimilation or Americanization so important to many
people during the early 20th century? Why was the Melting Pot idea altered to a Salad Bowl metaphor
in recent years? Which idea (melting pot/salad bowl) do you see as more appropriate in terms of
teaching kids today? Why do you think the need to assimilate has been deemed as important to us as a
nation and why has it proven so difficult for many groups?
Answer: Race and ethnic assimilation is a very important ideal for Americans as a whole, both
individually and as a nation, and was especially important during the 20th century, when radical
nativism was rampant, causing the belief that those immigrants who weren t properly Americanized,
or assimilated, would be the reason for misery and strife among the nation.
This was later confirmed to the American people when a Polish immigrant s son assassinated the
President at the time, William McKinley. The reason ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It allows for a fair compromise to be put into place where an immigrant per se is able to maintain
aspects of his or her culture, while being open to embrace American values as well. However, for
some this may be a much more difficult task as their own ideologies have been engraved into them,
making it merely impossible for them to assimilate. Sometimes, the so called fair compromise
becomes unreasonable as too much sacrifice is expected of immigrants; they are forced to give up
significant portions of their identity in change for Western ideals. This pressurized conformation
process to become an American creates conflict by forcing people to pick and choose parts of
themselves. The intense need to conform and assimilate has become more and more evident as the

The Relationship Between Jane And Laney

older sister and I don t talk anymore for obvious reasons, I d rather not and won t be mentioning. For
the purpose of this essay, I won t be mentioning their actual names instead we ll refer to the older
sister as Jane and the younger sister as Dawn. Dawn came to me to talk about concerns she had for
Jane. She also came to talk about issues that were going on in her life.
Dawn was going through an abundance of problematic situations. She talked about how her divorced
parents were behaving, specifically her father. They have joint custody of her. Jane is living with their
father while dawn is living with their mother and visits her father s house every other weekend. She
talked about how it was tough for her because she genuinely missed her sister, and didn t get to visit
with her much. She also mentioned that when she did, her sister was always with a girl we ll call
Laney. Laney was living with Jane and their father. Laney was the last person that family needed to be

could smell the cigarette smoke that lingered in Jane s room, on her clothes, and on her breath. She d

How Did Architecture Influence Greek Architecture
The Romans took their principles and standards from the Greek architecture and used new techniques
and materials to construct their buildings. They were greatly influenced by the Greek orders especially
the Corinthian order which can be seen in their public buildings. The Roman architects were great
creators as they merged their magnificent designs with the Greek techniques to manufacture new
constructions like circuses, aqueducts, thermae and amphitheaters. These constructions were funded
by the Roman states which ensured the survival of these buildings to this day (Cartwright, 2013). The
Roman amphitheater was a large building which included fake nautical battles, animal hunts and
gladiator fights. It became a famous landmark of the Roman civilization. The amphitheaters were built

The aqueduct was more like a bridge with single, double or triple arcades of arches to transport water

mastered the building technique of the aqueducts, and as a result, the most famous aqueducts were the
Roman ones. They didn t use aqueducts only for drinking and watering crops, but also supplied villas,
public baths and fountains with water. Also, the water is freshened by pumping it through a system of
small waterfalls. More importantly, the aqueducts affected the Roman agriculture and was used to
water the lands. For example, the Pont du Gard in France was forty nine meters high, and the aqueduct
of Segovia measured twenty eight meters high. Both aqueducts survive to this day, which in turn

A family dysfunction can be any condition that impedes its proper rhythm. Most families have some
periods of time when functioning is impaired by stressful circumstances, for instance: death, illness,
unemployment, finances, stress, work, school, etc. Moreover, healthy families tend to return to normal
functioning after the crisis passes. In dysfunctional families, however, problems tend to be chronic.
A healthy family is not perfect; there may be misunderstandings, tensions, conflicts, yelling, hurt and
anger, but not always. Emotional expression is allowed; and it s acceptable to get mad sometimes, as
long as it s not all the time. The Holy Bible teaches on Ephesians 4 23 Be ye angry and sin not, let not
the sun go down upon your wrath . Also, in a healthy family, rules tend to be explicit and are
consistent, but with some flexibility to adapt to individual needs and particular situations. Ephesians 6
4 exemplifies this idea with the following verse: And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to
wrath .
Children are treated with respect, and do not fear emotional, verbal, physical, or sexual abuse. On the
contrary, they feel safe, as they know that their parents are there to protect them and to look after their
well being. These children are given responsibilities appropriate to their age and are not expected to

therefore, her understanding of what appearance implies, is unclear to her; it is unclear to her because
she is not educated and has a lack of understanding, which to Bourdieu s explains that cultural

Constructivism is a type of method that has changed and continues to change with time. It has been
stated that due to the fact of the ever changing definition many have called the definition empty.
According to Kretchmar (2017), So many different definitions currently exist some scholars believe
constructivism has been emptied of meaning altogether. Sofie M. M. Loyens and David Gijbels
(2008), defines constructivism as the way in which people try to make sense of situations or, in other
words, how people create meaning (p. 351). There are two specific kinds of constructivism, cognitive

Dewey also believed that ideas are important being that they lead the way for creativity, hence,
providing students with a way to find solutions by combining ideas so that they produce a way of
action to get started towards the solution (Carvin, 2006). Dewey feels like students would benefit
more from real world experience, something he called directed living (Jones, 2008). Dewey felt that
through directed living would come freedom. He equalized freedom with growth. The next theorist
was Jean Piaget. Piaget focused more on cognitive constructivism and social constructivism. He based
his theory off of enhancing student s logical and conceptual growth. Piaget referred to this as cognitive
structure (Jones, 2008). Piaget emphasized schema and how teachers influence the students. Piaget s
theory includes assimilation and accommodation, which are processes children go through as a search
for balance or equilibration (Wadsworth, 2004) . He wanted teachers to be an aid, not some walking
textbook. Piaget s theory was to make students critical thinker. The last theorist was Lev Vygotsky.
Vygotsky believed teachers served as mediators who coached and encouraged students to formulate
their own level of understanding (Carvin, 2006). He believes more so in the social aspect of
constructivism.
When it comes to bringing constructivism into the classroom it can be useful since it applies to several

am submitting this report that shows that I have identified being a registered nurse (RN) as the best
career option in the field of nursing. This report focuses on how graduating students in this program
can determine which career/job option would be best suited for them. I have concluded my report
based on the comparison of four main criteria, which include the requirements, salary, security and
working condition. I was able to collect the data for my report through online research as well as
research from textbooks and library. I have also included an action plan for students so that they can
easily work to choose between the various job options available to them. BACKGROUND The
nursing industry is a very important industry and it forms one of the most important aspects of the
overall health care industry. It has to be noted that nurses provide some very important support
functions for the doctors and physicians and they are also very important in dealing with various types
of patients. In Canada, nursing is a very lucrative career, mostly because there is an acute shortage of
nurses. Some of the reasons include that nursing can be a very demanding job in which the nurses
have to work for long hours and they are exposed to a lot of stresses on the job, which is why many
nurses tend to quit their jobs. There is also

My Tennis Life Has Changed My Life
My Tennis Life The one event that changed my life forever was when my dad first took me to the
tennis courts when I was only three years old. Tennis has always been my father s passion and he
wanted to pass that on to me. As every young toddler, I would watch cartoons and children s shows,
but when my dad would get home, I would watch tennis with him and it was equally interesting to me,
even at a very young age. My life has evolved around the experience I have gained from tennis and
wouldn t be the same without it. This one time that my dad took me to the tennis courts, even though it
was such a simple action, has changed my future eternally and nothing would be the same if that had
never happened.
The day that my dad took me to the courts, pictures show me carrying a Dora junior racket while
wearing a Daddy s little Princess shirt and I was overjoyed. In the early years of my life after tennis
was introduced to me, every day I would go with my dad and chase after tennis balls, without really
being able to play yet, while the sun was setting. Even though it was so long ago, I remember feeling
tiny compared to the enormous and intimidating tennis court in front of me. My main and the most
vivid memories of these times were after practice when my father and I would go to our favorite ice
cream shop, Baskin Robbins, and order the same thing as each other every time.
As I got older, I started playing even more and played tournaments and got approached by new
coaches.

Ordered Successive Interference Cancellation ( Osic ) Is...
Abstract In this paper, ordered successive interference cancellation (OSIC) is adopted with minimum
mean square error (MMSE) detection to enhance the multiple input multiple output (MIMO) system
performance. The optimum detection technique increases the system complexity with improved error
rate performance. Therefore, MMSE OSIC detection is used which gives reduced error rate compared
to traditional MMSE with a considerable level of complexity. The system performance is analyzed in a
composite fading environment which deals with multipath and shadowing, known as Weibull gamma
(WG) fading environment. Along with the composite fading, a composite noise i.e. additive white
generalized Gaussian noise (AWGGN) model is taken into account to form various noise scenarios
such as impulsive, Gamma, Laplacian, Gaussian and uniform noise. Consequently, generalized Q
function is used to develop such noise scenario. The average symbol error probability (ASEP) of
MIMO system is computed for 16 quadrature amplitude modulation (16 QAM) using MMSE OSIC
detection in WG fading with AWGGN. Analytical expressions are evaluated in terms of Fox H
function (FHF). These expressions demonstrate the best fit to simulation results.
Keywords MIMO, MMSE OSIC, WG fading, AWGGN, M QAM, ASEP.
1. Introduction
In MIMO systems, spatial multiplexing is used for high data rate transmission and spatial diversity is
used to achieve reliable communication. However, there is a tradeoff between diversity and

The Pros And Cons Of Academic Dishonesty
McCabe has said that an estimated seventy percent of college students have admitted to some type of
cheating. He supports this claim by saying that the parties to blame here is the school system and the
media. HBU defines academic dishonesty to when a student cheats or steals someone s work and
passes it as their own among these are a list of actions that count for academic dishonesty. Some
examples being brought up about dishonesty is how in the NFL saw past the deflating incident in the
Super Bowl were it seems like the media praised the player for his actions (Loschiavo). Therefor,
students think it is correct to do be dishonest in their class work.
The article talks about how the way the school system is set up students are not able to fully write a
complete a research paper. Most of the time an act like this is impulsive, something that is done
without thinking. It is said that teachers are basically taking a short cut by teaching their student the
concept of paraphrasing what they read instead of teaching them how to properly put things in a
context they can explain themselves. The research was done by a Dean who dealt with student
dishonesty for over sixteen years, but yet each student is has different reasons for their acts. McCabe
himself says in the article that cheating can be one of many things such as a cry for help to just not
knowing how to properly cite their resources. Being a fresh out of high school student I often witness
student being told that what they

Pphl 25 Reflection
I am currently taking up PHIL 25, Philosophy of the Human Person, and it helped me interpret
complex things discussed in the 26 chapter text. The text as well helped me refreshed what were
already discussed on our PHIL 25 course and also aids in attaining a deeper understanding on
Philosophy. In the first chapters of the text, I already know that there is a big difference between
knowledge and wisdom; wherein not all knowledgeable are wise. And what the text provided me was
a better comprehension on the difference between the two, knowledge and wisdom.
I, myself, do not know what wisdom is. According to the dictionary, wisdom is the quality of having
experience, knowledge, and good judgment; but what does wisdom really mean. In the text, it was
described as the knowledge of highest causes. It is about seeing the larger picture of things. And
mostly the wise persons are the older ones. I have learned that most older person are wise not ... Show

The principle of identity states that each being is what it is, thus everything is determinate. Without
this principle we would not know anything at all and that what is something is the same as what it is
not. On the other hand, the principle of non contradiction states that something cannot be both true and
false at the same time in the same respect. Without this principle, for me, the world would be in chaos.
This is because, what would I want to mean could be the opposite of what would i want to imply. The
principle of the excluded middle states that a thing can only be is or is not, there is no such thing as in
between them. I have also grasp that becoming is being. This is for the reason that becoming means
changing into something. But before that change has come to happen, that thing to undergo change is
still the thing it is. I am quite confused

The Boxer Rebellion Of China
Blake Bialas
Mrs. Blomme
Honors English 11
1 October 2014
The Boxer Rebellion In the very late 1800 s and into the early 1900 s, terror struck northern China
when a group of Chinese peasants known as Boxer s began their historic rebellion against the spread
of western and Japanese influence in China. They were attempting to drive all foreigners out and away
from China, fearing that they would transform traditional ways of the Chinese culture. This event
would prove to be a detriment to both the people of China, as well as the country of China as a whole,
costing them large amounts of money, losing thousands of innocent people, and hurting their
reputation. Not only was China affected by this issue, but countries including America, England,
Russia, France, Italy, Austria, Hungary, the United Kingdom, and Japan were called for, and aided in
China s cry for help. This is important because China would later have to pay each these countries
back for all of their help, which was not a cheap cost to pay. Importance of this event will be shown
through the rise of the Boxer Rebellion along with what occurred during the rebellion, the many
effects the rebellion had both the people of China, and as a country, and the non justification of the
Boxer Rebellion, despite it having such a large impact on China. It all began in the year 1899, when
the Boxers began to practice physical exercises which they believed would make them invulnerable to
bullets and other forms of attack (The

A Day At The Technology Student Association State Conference
The day my life flashed before my eyes started as though it was any other day at the Technology
Student Association State Conference. The day started out with anticipation and excitement for the
competitive events held that day. The only competitive event I was to participate in was the
Electrathon race, which was scheduled for later that afternoon. The Electrathon Race is an event
where we race student designed go kart sized vehicles that are powered by two twelve volt batteries.
The point of the race is to see how many laps you can go in one hour on one battery charge. Even
though I was not competing in an event that morning, I still had to dress in khaki pants, a polo shirt,
and closed toed loafers to enter and attended the conference sessions. Leaving my hotel room and
stepping onto the elevator, I was ready for the day.
As I walked out of the revolving door of the Hilton I was excited but nervous for the events to come
that day. I crossed the street and headed into the Classic Center. Weaving through the crowds of people
I headed to the escalator to go down Grand Hall 8 to find my advisor. As I stepped onto the escalator
and headed down, my mind speed up and the nerves kicked in at full speed. I stepped off the escalator
and weaving through the crowd again to get to my destination. When I arrived at Grand Hall 8, I
found Mr. Morgan ,my advisor. He gave me keys to go check the trailer for helmets.
Going back through the crowds, I headed out of the building and out

Methyl Alcohol Should Be Illegal
Methyl Alcohol is a toxic, colorless, flammable liquid alcohol. CH3OH is the chemical formula for it.
Originally from the distillation of wood but now oxidizing methane. In 1923 German chemists had
figured out how to make a synthetic methyl alcohol called methanol. They put carbon, oxygen, and
hydrogen into an industrial pressure cooker and superheated it to more than 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
Methyl Alcohol isn t a poison like cyanide. It didn t make you violently sick then kill you. A lethal
undiluted dose is little as two teaspoons for a child, and a quarter cup for a man. A more average
amount leads to blindness then coma and soon death. Methyl (wood) alcohol is not easily broken
down by the body. The enzymes in human livers struggle with methyl. As a result, the poison lingers

The latest round of alcohol on the streets was not filtered well, so with the poisonous government
added impurities and methyl alcohol still contaminating the drink, it was lethal. Two days later twenty
three of them were dead. I think this is a very sad reading about poisons. The doing was directly a
result of the decisions by a government that is supposed to protect us. I understand the situation would
have been a hard one to solve, but it seemed with every decision made to try to fix it, the problem just
got worse. The sickly patients hallucinated, vomited, and were blinded by the wood alcohol. In
hospitals there was even a special unit called the alcoholic ward, specialized much like the way burn
units are today. Many people like Wayne Wheeler (general counsel of the Anti Saloon League of
America) thought it was crazy that the fact that these so called victims had violated the law, and
deserve no sympathy for their illegal and idiotic behavior . The next day the Treasury department
announced that it had decided to require the formulas be doubled

Peace As A Concept Of The Fundamental Problems Faced By...
Peace as a concept is seen through the lens of the fundamental problems faced by the world today:
war, armed conflict and political violence. By insinuation, peace itself is understood predominantly as
a negative concept, or as the absence of these phenomena (Atack, 2009).
Martin Luther King said that True peace is not merely the absence of some negative force tension,
confusion or war; it is the presence of some positive force justice, good will and brotherhood (King,
1957). Indeed, peace should focus on the positive social and political phenomena such as integrity,
equality and wellbeing. In order to create a peaceful world, humans have to strive for positive peace, a
condition brought about by establishing standards of justice, human rights, and sustainable
development in beloved communities (Harris, 1996, p. 386). Gandhiji too described his ideas of peace
with a focus on the positive, according to him peace includes:
(i) Peace implies the capacity to live together in harmony.
(ii) The creation of non violent social systems, i.e., a society free from structural violence.
(iii) The absence of exploitation and injustice of every kind.
(iv) International cooperation and understanding.
(v) Ecological balance and conservation.
(vi) Peace of mind, or the psycho spiritual dimension of peace. (NCERT, 2006)
These positive views of peace lead us beyond the limited negative associations the notion is centered
around. It is important to understand that the concept

Whether it had been for religious, economic, or other various reasons, the groups of people all ended up in the same region. The New England Colonies and the Southern Colonies were the two distinct societies that were set up in the new world. The New England and Southern Colonies had many differences and similarities centered on reasons for arrival, slavery, forms of government and economy. The New England economy in 1700 relied heavily on the Atlantic Trade and the government was made up of Royal Colonies controlled by the King . With merchants in New England controlling the dealings within the trade and the use of the trade made them very successful . For example, the merchant s living in Boston who were very successful within the Atlantic Trade ended up owning half of city s wealth . With the growing success within the Atlantic Trade (Triangle Trade), commerce began to compete with the role of religion in the New England Colonies . The New England Colonies roots were so rich in religion and transforming themselves into a godly society, and then commerce began to be looked at with the same importance as religion. This was a drastic change from what the New Englanders originally stood for and changed many aspects of society. For example, when cash within the government was low, the leaders began selling land to individuals within the community, which ended the church s authority in granting land to church members . In other words, money became the ultimate way to get land instead of by belonging to the church. Also with the ability to buy land whenever you pleased, the people of New England began to move to individual farms, creating more power to the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Framework For Analysis.Charter Schools Are Independent Framework for Analysis Charter Schools are independent from the administrative structure of the school district that allowed its creation. However, the terms of the abiding contract between the charter school and the district school board should be the guideline for its evaluation. Essex (2008) explains the Fifth Amendment clause as, due process requires fundamental fairness, faire process, and faire procedures (p.83). All children deserve the same quality education and opportunities than any other child in the nation. Therefore, equal accountability should be measured with equal standards. Therefore, it was on the hands of the educators to create that blueprint from scratch. The educators at the new learning center were inexperienced and did not have the necessary skills to create a common core standards of minimum learning for all students. Moreover, they had so many responsibilities, beside the already daunting task of teaching, that they could not keep up with students behavior. However, their inexperience was evidenced when they decided to minimize the data results from the standardized test as something with minimal importance compared to their opinions on the students progress. Bambrick Santoyo (2010) lists his key drivers for implementing a rubric that would help the educators with data analysis. He suggests that educators should not dismiss test results because they will affect the future of their students. The author states, data driven schools work best when they prepare students for the world as it is, not someone s idea of how the world ought to be (p.87). Even when every new educational model starts with an idea, the data is paramount in the accountability process. The educators at the charter school should have used the opportunity given by the math test results to start an action plan that would have guide them ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Essay On Rural Retrirification SIGNFICANCE OF THE STUDY This study is important because it will guide the Government in future for making decision on expanding rural electrification program in areas without electricity and it will also encourage private participation in coming up with Mini Electrical Energy generation in rural areas like mini hydro, wind and Solar. It will also serve as a reference for ensuring that the Government has proper documentation on this area so that these positive impacts of rural electrification will be clearly supported by proper documentation and hence this will help the Government to secure more funding from Donors to further rural electrification programs It is believed that the availability and reliability of information from this study ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Remote or rural regions lacking electricity supply face a lot of challenges for them to get connected to Electricity. They may lie at a reasonable distance from national or regional electricity grids (remote villages in the Amazon) and may have difficulties in getting connected to Electricity (far from urban centers with a difficult terrain such as large rivers or jungles). Naturally they may suffer harsh climatic conditions that render electrification through grid extension a perilous task . In adding to these challenges, the rural poor areas without access to electricity either spend relatively large amounts of their scarce financial resources on energy, or a disproportionate amount of time collecting firewood from the jungle or also lead to depletion of natural resources. Rural electrification can have a positive impact on social and economic development in the households, farms and establishments . If rural areas are electrified they may lead to certain changes or social/economic development at the village level as well as at the household level. At both levels, these changes might involve employment, incomes, productivity and others. In the agricultural sector, rural electrification might lead to changes in irrigated area enhancing changes in cropping intensity and cropping pattern, which in turn leads to changes in the use of factors of ... • 8. My First White Water Fracking Expedition The excitement of my first whitewater rafting expedition soon evaporated, like an elusive dream. The rolling, brown waves played a dangerous game of leapfrog before me, turning white for a brief second before crashing down as their turn concluded. Feeling not quite as prepared as I would have liked, I was nonetheless ushered onto a blue raft. We were told to shove one foot under the inflatable seat in front of us in order to not capsize during the excursion. An increasing numbness crept up my leg as my foot began to throb, diverting my attention for only a moment. • 9. Sample Of Admission Essay Sample I have always been passionate about math and physics, and in high school, I excelled in both. As I approached university, I was faced with a dilemma: should I pursue engineering or science? It was a single, seemingly trivial incident that led to a moment of clarity and solidified my decision: it started with fiddling with a pen in class. I took it apart, examining the mechanisms and playing around with all the little parts. As I sat there with a deconstructed pen strewed across my desk, something occurred to me: if a person uses a pen to write, he s made for the arts; if a person throws it in the air and watches gravity pull it back, she s made for science; and if someone takes a pen apart to see how it works piecing together the relationship of the spring to the push mechanism, inspecting the efficiency of the inkwell he s made for engineering. • 11. Analyse The Importance Of Early Intervention In Children I have learnt that language can be cognitive, material or social (Gee Hayes, 2011). Some view language as a set of social conventions, shared by a group of people about how to communicate such as classroom or sporting rules, often supplied in books and followed by people. Children don t read books so social conventions need to be taught by modelling behaviour and communication. With the exception of severe disabilities or social problems, all humans acquire language as a core of basic property of their humanity called vernacular which is used in everyday life Gee Hayes (2011, p. 8). • 13. Silence In The Play Trifles The play Trifles takes place during 1957 when women were silenced; they were only addressed and not spoken to or able to speak. They were not able to vote or partake in any dominant activities. The women were not given permission to help with the crime, while gathering items which Mrs. Wright had requested but they did it with natural senses due to activities they take on within the household as well. Therefore silence is firstly seen in the play when Mrs. Wright says She would wear pretty clothes and be lively, when she was Minnie Foster, one of the town girls singing in the choir (Glaspell) says Mrs. Hale, but that was thirty years ago before she married Mr. Wright and all her liveliness left her. Bob Marley Get USand Up Analysis Get up Stand up was written in 1973 and was written by Bob Marley and Peter Tosh in the group : The Wailers, published in the album : Legend, by Chrysalis One Music (Metrolyrics, n.d). Furthermore, their source of inspiration was mainly influenced by their Jamaican upbringing. In essence, the song is about the fight for acceptance of their Rastafarian religion and the need to take action to avoid oppression. The meaning behind the lyrics can be interpreted as both religious and anti religious. On the other hand, the line, `Get up, stand up: stand up for your rights, can be seen as a rallying call for the people to stand up and demand respect for the Rastafarian religion. Firstly, the fundamental message that he brings across is that religion is something personal, it is fine to have certain religious beliefs, but it is not acceptable when you ram it in someone else s throat. He elaborates on the need for mutual respect for others beliefs. Network Security enhancement using Software Defined Networking Technologies Software Defined Networking (SDN) is a pattern of new technologies for permitting more prominent control of how networks work. As opposed to a genuinely static network that must be controlled by exclusive merchant particular protocols, with at times restricted deceivability into the internals of layer 2 gadgets like switches, SDN considers experimentation in enhancing and arranging how the network functions. If it s a large network consisting of so many networking devices, then it would be difficult to configure each and every device with these security measures as it takes a lot of time to do so. Further more, many network attacks are taking shape these days and their effects on the network are unpredictable. So if a new attack comes and if a security measure is developed against the attack, then it should be updated in each and every network device in a network, which will be a very tedious job to do. This is the current trend running in the networking environment. In our project we are implementing these security measures over SDN, as it provides a centralized controller for the network. If we just configure these security measures in the centralized controller, then the entire network, which is under the control of this particular controller, can be secured. Thus it saves a lot of time and effort. And if a new network attack comes into the network, then the security measure against this network attack can be configured inside the controller, so that it can be applied to the whole network, which is under the control of this controller instead of changing each and every networking device configuration in a network. • 16. Artificial Selection And Its Effects On Our Health It would probably surprise most people to learn that broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, kale, and kohlrabi all hail from wild cabbage (Brassica oleracea), due to a process called artificial selection. Over thousands of years humanity has manipulated plants and animals using artificial selection. However, we now have a different process called genetic engineering, which opens new doors to countless applications such as, genetically modifying plants to become cold, resistant. Traditionally we would have to rely on artificial selection, but now we can manipulate the genetic material of organisms. However, with new technology comes an issue of environmental impact. The very same organisms that we create can become exceedingly detrimental to the environment it s ecosystems. Concerns on the effects of these organisms on our health are justified as they can be a benefit or detriment. To better appreciate genetic engineering, we first must explore artificial selection and its history. Artificial selection is the process in which humans breed organisms based on physical traits they want to further enhanced or eliminate, in a way artificial selection relies heavy on the phenotype of the organism. Which is the physical trait expressed by genes. An example would be the domestication of the dog. Around 15,000 to 16,000 years ago, we began to breed wolves and actively select for tameness. Li et al. (2013), found this rapid evolution was probably driven by artificial selection during the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I Am Legend Research Paper I Am Legend vs The Land of the Dead: The Evolution of the Zombie Subgenre When examining the horror film subgenre of zombies, it is imperative to look at the evolution of the creatures, and determine why the newer films are typically superior to their older counterparts. Directors tend to adapt zombie films in order to fit the fears and the experience of a modern audience, which is why the films continue to improve. This is obvious even in the short time span of about three years. The film I am Legend, which was released late in 2007, and was directed by Francis Lawrence. The only companionship that Neville is able to find is in his dog, Sam. Despite his isolation, Neville remains determined, believing that he can still fix this and that he will light up the darkness (I Am Legend). The most fascinating theme in this film is also the most subtle. I am Legend contains a religious undertone, which many of the viewers will not notice the first time that they watch the film. Neville is portrayed as the resurrection of Christ, as he sacrifices his life to the discovery of the vaccine, and the welfare of humanity. Butterflies, which symbolize the resurrection of Christ, are also seen several times in this film, which only adds to the religious theme. Neville s daughter is shown making a butterfly for her father before she and her mother attempt to flee the city. Also, there is a butterfly tattoo on the woman that Neville sacrifices his life for, by hiding her in a shaft while he confronts the zombies. Overall, I am Legend has a wider variety of themes than Land Of the Dead, and therefore is more enjoyable to watch, as one needs to pay close attention to truly understand the entire ... The Issue Of Corporate Greed In exploring the issue of corporate greed, especially on Wall Street, we can decide if an issue is overblown by asking one question, Can a life ruining, economy changing financial crisis be skewed for dramatic effect? The Big Short tells the story of the financial crisis of 2008 and tackles the issue of corporate greed in the form of the true stories of a few men who saw the crisis coming. The issue is not overblown at all. This can be observed by simply looking to the devastation and chaos caused by banks trying to make money by preying on the poor and un informed in the years following 2008. Most of us are old enough to remember the mind numbingly large number of people that were affected in several ways when the housing market crashed. Unfortunately, many are also old enough to have been directly affected by the choices big banks made for decades. Because there was such a large event directly caused by the issue of corporate greed, there are plenty examples in daily life to suggest that The Big Short does not skew the issue for dramatic effect. E85 is the highest amount of ethanol allow for sale in retail, but, in Brazil E100 (100% ethanol) is everywhere. It is not even possible to buy regular gasoline in Brazil anymore. The reason the price stays up is because it costs extra to manufacture ethanol and put it in as an additive. The process of harvesting the corn, (which is the most popular crop in the United States for ethanol) then paying for all of the machinery/workers tends to get expensive. The simple process to make gasoline starts with: digging for oil at oil fields, then either shipping the barrels from other countries or from our oil fields to refineries. The oil is then refined into gasoline, the different companies then pay to rent pipelines to ship the fuel to terminals. The closest terminal to Rexburg is in Pocatello; it is then put onto different trucks and sent to different gas stations within the area of that terminal. In dysfunctional families, however, problems tend to be chronic. A healthy family is not perfect; there may be misunderstandings, tensions, conflicts, yelling, hurt and anger, but not always. Emotional expression is allowed; and it s acceptable to get mad sometimes, as long as it s not all the time. The Holy Bible teaches on Ephesians 4 23 Be ye angry and sin not, let not the sun go down upon your wrath . Ephesians 6 4 exemplifies this idea with the following verse: And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath . Children are treated with respect, and do not fear emotional, verbal, physical, or sexual abuse. On the contrary, they feel safe, as they know that their parents are there to protect them and to look after their well being. These children are given responsibilities appropriate to their age and are not expected to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Habitus is a term, which is similar to cultural capital because they are transmitted from home: Like cultural capital, habitus is transmitted within the home (Sullivan 149). However, there is a dissimilarity concerning cultural capital and habitus: ... whereas cultural capital consists of the possession of legitimate knowledge, habitus is a set of attitudes and values, and the dominant habitus is a set of attitudes and values held by the dominant class (Sullivan 149). Also, part of the habitus is the positive attitude towards education, as Sullivan mentions A major component of the dominant habitus is a positive attitude ... Santos tributes the adolescent s weathered physical attributes to the complete abandonment of her father, which is reflected in the comment of Santos on the action of her father: Hace mal tu padre en no ocuparse de ti como mereces.... (Gallegos 115). This uncaring of self appearance by Marisela implies that she does not have the same educational level and understanding to that of Santos and, therefore, her understanding of what appearance implies, is unclear to her; it is unclear to her because she is not educated and has a lack of understanding, which to Bourdieu s explains that cultural competence is needed to understanding the meaning of the self appearance code: a work of art has meaning and interest only for someone who possesses the cultural competence, that is, the code, into which it is encoded (1665). Also, the conversations that Santos has with her about her appearance has no meaning to her because: a beholder who lacks the specific code feels lost in a chaos of sounds and rhythms, colors, and lines, without rhyme or reason (Bourdieu 1665). However, this will all change as Santos begins to convey his habitus unto her. The ultimate objective of Santos is the modernization ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. Social Constructivism Essay Constructivism is a type of method that has changed and continues to change with time. It has been stated that due to the fact of the ever changing definition many have called the definition empty. According to Kretchmar (2017), So many different definitions currently exist some scholars believe constructivism has been emptied of meaning altogether. Sofie M. M. Loyens and David Gijbels (2008), defines constructivism as the way in which people try to make sense of situations or, in other words, how people create meaning (p. 351). There are two specific kinds of constructivism, cognitive constructivism, and social constructivism. Many people feel like as a teacher it is your job to only teach the text or the material. Dewey also believed that ideas are important being that they lead the way for creativity, hence, providing students with a way to find solutions by combining ideas so that they produce a way of action to get started towards the solution (Carvin, 2006). Dewey feels like students would benefit more from real world experience, something he called directed living (Jones, 2008). Dewey felt that through directed living would come freedom. He equalized freedom with growth. The next theorist was Jean Piaget. Piaget focused more on cognitive constructivism and social constructivism. He based his theory off of enhancing student s logical and conceptual growth. Piaget referred to this as cognitive structure (Jones, 2008). Piaget emphasized schema and how teachers influence the students. Piaget s theory includes assimilation and accommodation, which are processes children go through as a search for balance or equilibration (Wadsworth, 2004) . He wanted teachers to be an aid, not some walking textbook. Piaget s theory was to make students critical thinker. The last theorist was Lev Vygotsky. Vygotsky believed teachers served as mediators who coached and encouraged students to formulate their own level of understanding (Carvin, 2006). He believes more so in the social aspect of constructivism. When it comes to bringing constructivism into the classroom it can be useful since it applies to several types of teaching practices. • 41. Recommendation Report On The Best Nursing Career Date: April 2, 2015 To: From: Subject: RECOMMENDATION REPORT ON THE BEST NURSING CAREER FOR HEALTH AND SCIENCE GRADUATES INTRODUCTION As per your request, I am submitting this report that shows that I have identified being a registered nurse (RN) as the best career option in the field of nursing. This report focuses on how graduating students in this program can determine which career/job option would be best suited for them. I have concluded my report based on the comparison of four main criteria, which include the requirements, salary, security and working condition. I was able to collect the data for my report through online research as well as research from textbooks and library. I have also included an action plan for students so that they can easily work to choose between the various job options available to them. BACKGROUND The nursing industry is a very important industry and it forms one of the most important aspects of the overall health care industry. It has to be noted that nurses provide some very important support functions for the doctors and physicians and they are also very important in dealing with various types of patients. In Canada, nursing is a very lucrative career, mostly because there is an acute shortage of nurses. Some of the reasons include that nursing can be a very demanding job in which the nurses have to work for long hours and they are exposed to a lot of stresses on the job, which is why many nurses tend to quit their jobs. • 42. My Tennis Life Has Changed My Life My Tennis Life The one event that changed my life forever was when my dad first took me to the tennis courts when I was only three years old. Tennis has always been my father s passion and he wanted to pass that on to me. As every young toddler, I would watch cartoons and children s shows, but when my dad would get home, I would watch tennis with him and it was equally interesting to me, even at a very young age. My life has evolved around the experience I have gained from tennis and wouldn t be the same without it. This one time that my dad took me to the tennis courts, even though it was such a simple action, has changed my future eternally and nothing would be the same if that had never happened. The day that my dad took me to the courts, pictures show me carrying a Dora junior racket while wearing a Daddy s little Princess shirt and I was overjoyed. In the early years of my life after tennis was introduced to me, every day I would go with my dad and chase after tennis balls, without really being able to play yet, while the sun was setting. Even though it was so long ago, I remember feeling tiny compared to the enormous and intimidating tennis court in front of me. My main and the most vivid memories of these times were after practice when my father and I would go to our favorite ice cream shop, Baskin Robbins, and order the same thing as each other every time. As I got older, I started playing even more and played tournaments and got approached by new coaches. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Ordered Successive Interference Cancellation ( Osic ) Is... Abstract In this paper, ordered successive interference cancellation (OSIC) is adopted with minimum mean square error (MMSE) detection to enhance the multiple input multiple output (MIMO) system performance. The optimum detection technique increases the system complexity with improved error rate performance. Therefore, MMSE OSIC detection is used which gives reduced error rate compared to traditional MMSE with a considerable level of complexity. The system performance is analyzed in a composite fading environment which deals with multipath and shadowing, known as Weibull gamma (WG) fading environment. Along with the composite fading, a composite noise i.e. additive white generalized Gaussian noise (AWGGN) model is taken into account to form various noise scenarios such as impulsive, Gamma, Laplacian, Gaussian and uniform noise. Consequently, generalized Q function is used to develop such noise scenario. The average symbol error probability (ASEP) of MIMO system is computed for 16 quadrature amplitude modulation (16 QAM) using MMSE OSIC detection in WG fading with AWGGN. Analytical expressions are evaluated in terms of Fox H function (FHF). These expressions demonstrate the best fit to simulation results. Keywords MIMO, MMSE OSIC, WG fading, AWGGN, M QAM, ASEP. 1. Introduction In MIMO systems, spatial multiplexing is used for high data rate transmission and spatial diversity is used to achieve reliable communication. • 44. The Pros And Cons Of Academic Dishonesty McCabe has said that an estimated seventy percent of college students have admitted to some type of cheating. He supports this claim by saying that the parties to blame here is the school system and the media. HBU defines academic dishonesty to when a student cheats or steals someone s work and passes it as their own among these are a list of actions that count for academic dishonesty. Some examples being brought up about dishonesty is how in the NFL saw past the deflating incident in the Super Bowl were it seems like the media praised the player for his actions (Loschiavo). Therefor, students think it is correct to do be dishonest in their class work. The article talks about how the way the school system is set up students are not able to fully write a complete a research paper. Most of the time an act like this is impulsive, something that is done without thinking. It is said that teachers are basically taking a short cut by teaching their student the concept of paraphrasing what they read instead of teaching them how to properly put things in a context they can explain themselves. The research was done by a Dean who dealt with student dishonesty for over sixteen years, but yet each student is has different reasons for their acts. McCabe himself says in the article that cheating can be one of many things such as a cry for help to just not knowing how to properly cite their resources. Being a fresh out of high school student I often witness student being told that what they ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Pphl 25 Reflection I am currently taking up PHIL 25, Philosophy of the Human Person, and it helped me interpret complex things discussed in the 26 chapter text. The text as well helped me refreshed what were already discussed on our PHIL 25 course and also aids in attaining a deeper understanding on Philosophy. In the first chapters of the text, I already know that there is a big difference between knowledge and wisdom; wherein not all knowledgeable are wise. And what the text provided me was a better comprehension on the difference between the two, knowledge and wisdom. I, myself, do not know what wisdom is. According to the dictionary, wisdom is the quality of having experience, knowledge, and good judgment; but what does wisdom really mean. In the text, it was described as the knowledge of highest causes. It is about seeing the larger picture of things. And mostly the wise persons are the older ones. Without this principle, for me, the world would be in chaos. This is because, what would I want to mean could be the opposite of what would i want to imply. The principle of the excluded middle states that a thing can only be is or is not, there is no such thing as in between them. I have also grasp that becoming is being. • 46. The Boxer Rebellion Of China Blake Bialas Mrs. Blomme Honors English 11 1 October 2014 The Boxer Rebellion In the very late 1800 s and into the early 1900 s, terror struck northern China when a group of Chinese peasants known as Boxer s began their historic rebellion against the spread of western and Japanese influence in China. They were attempting to drive all foreigners out and away from China, fearing that they would transform traditional ways of the Chinese culture. This event would prove to be a detriment to both the people of China, as well as the country of China as a whole, costing them large amounts of money, losing thousands of innocent people, and hurting their reputation. Not only was China affected by this issue, but countries including America, England, Russia, France, Italy, Austria, Hungary, the United Kingdom, and Japan were called for, and aided in China s cry for help. This is important because China would later have to pay each these countries back for all of their help, which was not a cheap cost to pay. Importance of this event will be shown through the rise of the Boxer Rebellion along with what occurred during the rebellion, the many effects the rebellion had both the people of China, and as a country, and the non justification of the Boxer Rebellion, despite it having such a large impact on China. It all began in the year 1899, when the Boxers began to practice physical exercises which they believed would make them invulnerable to bullets and other forms of attack (The ... A Day At The Technology Student Association State Conference The day my life flashed before my eyes started as though it was any other day at the Technology Student Association State Conference. The day started out with anticipation and excitement for the competitive events held that day. The only competitive event I was to participate in was the Electrathon race, which was scheduled for later that afternoon. The Electrathon Race is an event where we race student designed go kart sized vehicles that are powered by two twelve volt batteries. The point of the race is to see how many laps you can go in one hour on one battery charge. Even though I was not competing in an event that morning, I still had to dress in khaki pants, a polo shirt, and closed toed loafers to enter and attended the conference sessions. Leaving my hotel room and stepping onto the elevator, I was ready for the day. As I walked out of the revolving door of the Hilton I was excited but nervous for the events to come that day. I crossed the street and headed into the Classic Center. Weaving through the crowds of people I headed to the escalator to go down Grand Hall 8 to find my advisor. As I stepped onto the escalator and headed down, my mind speed up and the nerves kicked in at full speed. I stepped off the escalator and weaving through the crowd again to get to my destination. When I arrived at Grand Hall 8, I found Mr. Morgan ,my advisor. He gave me keys to go check the trailer for helmets. Going back through the crowds, I headed out of the building and out ... • 48. Methyl Alcohol Should Be Illegal Methyl Alcohol is a toxic, colorless, flammable liquid alcohol. CH3OH is the chemical formula for it. Originally from the distillation of wood but now oxidizing methane. In 1923 German chemists had figured out how to make a synthetic methyl alcohol called methanol. They put carbon, oxygen, and hydrogen into an industrial pressure cooker and superheated it to more than 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Methyl Alcohol isn t a poison like cyanide. It didn t make you violently sick then kill you. A lethal undiluted dose is little as two teaspoons for a child, and a quarter cup for a man. A more average amount leads to blindness then coma and soon death. Methyl (wood) alcohol is not easily broken down by the body. The enzymes in human livers struggle with methyl. The sickly patients hallucinated, vomited, and were blinded by the wood alcohol. In hospitals there was even a special unit called the alcoholic ward, specialized much like the way burn units are today. • 49. Peace As A Concept Of The Fundamental Problems Faced By... Peace as a concept is seen through the lens of the fundamental problems faced by the world today: war, armed conflict and political violence. By insinuation, peace itself is understood predominantly as a negative concept, or as the absence of these phenomena (Atack, 2009). Martin Luther King said that True peace is not merely the absence of some negative force tension, confusion or war; it is the presence of some positive force justice, good will and brotherhood (King, 1957). Indeed, peace should focus on the positive social and political phenomena such as integrity, equality and wellbeing. In order to create a peaceful world, humans have to strive for positive peace, a condition brought about by establishing standards of justice, human rights, and sustainable development in beloved communities (Harris, 1996, p. 386). Gandhiji too described his ideas of peace with a focus on the positive, according to him peace includes: (i) Peace implies the capacity to live together in harmony. (NCERT, 2006) These positive views of peace lead us beyond the limited negative associations the notion is centered around. It is important to understand that the concept ...
