Christianity Uses The Old And New Testaments
There are many different types beliefs and religion. The Christianity uses the old and new
testaments and the Islam used the Qur an. The point that I want to make is that Christianity and
Islam are not the same because they have different beliefs. Christianity is different from Islam
because their sacred texts are different. Christianityis different from Islambecause the sacred texts
that Christianity uses are the old testament and the new testaments. The sacred text that Islam uses
is the Qur an. Islam and Christianity do not uses the same sacred text. Christianity and Islam are
not the same because they have different symbols. Christianity and Islam symbols are not the same
because Christianity s symbol is a cross. The symbol for

Aryan Race And The Holocaust
The Holocaust is most often associated with the slaughter of millions of Jewish people.
However they are not the only ones to be brutally murdered. In order to fit in with Hitler s Aryan
Race , one must be blond, blue eyed, German and essentially perfect. For Hitler, that meant that
people with disabilities were to be slaughtered as well as sterilized. Some of the first to be
exterminated are the mentally, physically and emotionally disabled. He used propaganda to make
the Germans okay with it. Parents were told their children passed away from their disabilities.
When he actually had them experimented on, murdered, and wiped off the face of the earth. He
wanted to clean the gene pool. As soon as Hitler came into power in 1933, the

Bhakti And Sufi Movement In Hinduism
Bhakti and Sufi movements came into existence to propagate their own religions in a certain area.
These movements took religion to people in the form of poetry which was more understandable and
relatable to them. The Sufi movement was spreading in Islam; however, Bhakti movements was
spreading Hinduism. In this essay, it will discuss the distinct way in which the Bhakti movement
revived Hinduismbetween the 5th and 9th century in Tamil Nadu where Tamil language was a
powerful instrument. This period of diversifying Hinduism belonged to the Alwars and
Nayanamars. It will be further delved into by specifically looking at the Alwars and in particular,

Alwar is defined as the one is who is immersed in the divine experience with God. There were 12
Alwars, among them were 11 men and 1 woman who lived during the 5th to the 9th century in the
Tamil speaking sector of South India. They wrote devotional songs and poetry on Vishnuand
travelling from place to place, temple to temple and propagated their devotion to God. Furthermore,
it is important to note that these Alwars all came from different socioeconomic backgrounds. The
12 Alwars, also known as the Vaishnavite saints brought prominence in the Bhakti movement with
the poetry being the Nalayira Divya Prabandham (4000 songs). The names of the Alwars are:
Poigai, Bhutam, Peyalwar, Tirumazhisai, Nammalvar, Periyalvar, Andal, Kulasekaran,
Madhurakavi, Tondaradipodi, Tiruppaan, and ends with Tirumangai. The first three Alwars
(Poigai, Bhutam, and Peyalwar) sang 100 hymns each which were called the Thiruvandadi and is
considered to be the beginning of the Divya Prabandham. Tirumazhisai Alwar was very cognicient
of other schools of thought like Buddhism, Jainism, and Saivism, however he established songs
only on Lord Narayana in his Nanmukan Tiruvandadi which consisted of 96 hymns and the
Tirucandaviruttam comprising of 120 hymns and these works of his showed the supremacy of
Lord Vishnu against Brahma or Shiva. Kulasekara Alwar was a Chera King and an intense devotee

Douglas Noel Adams Research Paper
Douglas Noel Adams was born in Cambridge, England on March 11, 1952 to Janet and
Christopher Adams. Not long after Adams was born his family moved to East London. His
parents began having marital problems and got a divorced in 1957. He then later moved with his
mother and sister to a Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) animal

Adams began attending Primrose Hill Primary School. He was exceptionally smart and at the
age of nine he took an exam that would determine if he could get into a school called The
Brentwood School, which was an all male school. Adams was later admitted to Brentwood where

A Proposal For A New Factory
Introduction Longchamp is a French firm created in Paris in 1948, known for its luxury fashion
leather and canvas goods, such as handbags and luggage. Thanks to its expertise, Longchamp is
distributed in more than 275 stores worldwide. We would like to expand our production;
therefore we chose to open a new factory in Romania. In this report, we will explain the reasons
why we made this decision. 1)Tax costs Regarding tax costs, Romania is as a highly taxed
country, just like France. Indeed, income and capital gains earned by corporation are taxed at a
rate of 16%. More specifically, these data clearly demonstrate that Romania has payments
percentage and profit taxes higher than France. Even if Romania is more taxed than France
regarding corporate and income taxes, it is the opposite scheme for labor taxes and contributions.
This inversion is due to low labor costs. Certainly high tax costs can be a constraint to produce in
this country but we choose Romania for other reasons like the low labor cost and the proximity
with our primary market, France. 2) Legal environment Thanks to the accession to the EU and the
increasing integration in European markets, Romania s structural reform has progressed. Romania
s reform and liberalization process created large foreign exchange inflows and a positive view of
Romania s prospects. However, the judicial power is not entirely independent. It is very influenced

Canada has been known for, and has taken great pride in being a multicultural nation to the point
of making multiculturalism a law accompanied by a nationally recognized holiday. Canada is, by
the measure of many nations, the greatest nation on the planet. This great land and people are
known for the country s wide open spaces, its varied geographical areas and its acceptance of all
people, regardless of race, cultureand religion. As such, Canadais widely known as one of the most
multicultural and accepting countries in the world. What remains to be seen is whether Canada is
truly multicultural or if this nation is just tolerant of other cultures as a result of law or its

The report on THE CURRENT STATE OF MULTICULTURALISM IN CANADA AND
RESEARCH THEMES ON CANADIAN MULTICULTURALISM 2008 2010 prepared by
Citizenship and Immigration Canada cites information from polls conducted by Environomics for
Focus Canada (a leader in analytics in Canada). It states, In a study conducted in 2003, support for
multiculturalism among Canadians has increased over seven years: 85% of Canadians agreed that
multiculturalism was important to Canadian identity in 2003, compared to 74% in 1997 (http:/
/www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/pub/multi state.pdf, pg 7 paragraph 5). This research would indicate a
national movement towards embedding multiculturalism in Canadian culture. It would also indicate
that although there are a majority of Canadians who support multiculturalism; there is still a group,
roughly half a million people, who either do not care about multiculturalism or worse, who are
opposed to the concept. Advocates of Canada s multicultural identity cite census figures, including
those from the 2001 census, which state that of the approximately two million immigrants arriving
in Canada between 1991 and 2001, 58 percent were from Asia, 20 percent from Europe, 11 percent
from the Caribbean, Central and South America, eight percent from Africa and three percent from
the United States. These figures show a

Contribution of Digital projections for approaching mise en scene in contemporary theatre
performance.
By Shyam Kottegoda
In this research paper I m going to describe about theater production technology which it is using
digital production and how it is saturate to the mise en scene.
Cinematic theater is term of using digital projection in contemporary theatre. That can be briefly
described as a fusion of live performance and the magic of the big screen. By utilizing the best
dramatic devices that each art form has to covey a story and entertain an audience; the possibilities
to create interesting narratives and stage dynamics through the synergy of stage and cinematic
design is exciting.

Stage design allowing the utilization of projected images on surfaces can create a dynamic
canvas on which to apply vision. The applications are only limited by your imagination and
ability to position the projector. Some examples include: a window space to see outside, a mirror
to show symbolic representations of character, floor space to create a pool of water, smoke,
curtains etc.
Lighting design:
It is important when incorporating video into live performance that you consider the effect of lights
on the screen surface. One difficulty in setting lights is that they can significantly degrade the
brightness and colour of the screen images if there is light either directly hitting or bouncing from
the floor onto the screen.
One solution is to set the screen up from the floor and placing some blocks/staging in front to
block some of the bouncing light. When considering colour gels it is imperative to consider
colours used in the screen images and try to match them as well as possible to give a blended effect.
Mise en scГЁne

Unthinkable Challenges In Swimming To Antarctica By Lynne Cox
In December of 2002, Lynne Cox completed an unthinkable challenge. The challenge itself was
only 1.06 miles and lasted twenty five minutes, which doesn t seem like a long time but for her it
lasted a decade. Cox wrote an autobiography about her journey titled Swimming to Antarctica.
Within Cox s book she relives the phenomenon at which she faced the frigid unknown. That one
day Cox would put everything she had into a dream only she could possibly achieve due to her
physical and mental stability. Lynne Cox was an overall great swimmer and could conquer just
about anything she put her mind to. This made her mentality very strong, however could she

In the early light of the conquest, her mind was racing. Knowing that she could swim in thirty
three degree water as a test made her more anxious and afraid (Cox 130). Cox could not
retrogress and go back home, she had to encounter the face numbing water and defeat the
treacherous mile. She fought against the problems she may face and readied herself for the
awesome outcome that would be after the pain. There is always a rainbow after rain right? Once
she got ready and hopped in her mind went from zero to one hundred real quick. The signals
inside Cox s brain were sending off shocks telling her that there was not enough air entering the
lungs and nothing could be done to calm it. In the predicament she was in it is normal to think it
out but when your body feels like I had a corset tightening around my chest it is hard to chill out
(Cox 133). Her mind was firing signals telling her to jump out but she was determined to finish
what she had came so far to do. Cox s mind was nostalgic most of the swim, but once she made
the body and the mind come together and work as one she made the mile plus

Different Situations Where Skills By Social Workers Are...
This essay will be discussing two different situations where skills by social workers are needed
when working with groups. I will define the term group and will be reflecting on my own
experiences of working within groups and what I have observed in regards to individuals,
behaviours and group dynamics. My examples are drawn from two particular situations where I
have been involved, which include a multi professional meeting and residential home for children
with disabilities. I will be drawing on knowledge from K216 materials and other sources.
A definition of group according to the Oxford Dictionary of Social Workand Social Care (2013) is
a number of individuals with a shared sense of identity and/or who are bound together by
interaction with each other . Groups may be categorised into sub groups such as: social group,
interest group, family group or task group. People may be members of these different groups;
however, their choice of membership may be unavoidable, voluntary or limited. For example,
attending school is compulsory for young people and therefore the school group is regarded as a
formal group . Whereas they are at liberty to choose their friendship group within the school,
therefore this is considered an informal group (Adams, 1993, p.309 ).
The first group situation I will discuss is a multi professional meeting. The meeting was one I
observed which gave me the opportunity to identify group challenges and skills. The meeting was

Introduction
This empirical study looks to investigate the consumer trends of the students of Coventry
University London Campus (CULC). The aim of this study is to see what the students at CULC
prefer in terms of technology. Today a smartphone is able to do all the functions that a computer
can normally do and with the passage of time, we see the grasp of smartphones and tablets getting
firmer on our lives.
According to Ahmed (1991, p.25) a clear and strong brand image of can drastically increase the
confidence of the consumers and it can also convince the consumers to purchase the Smartphone

It helps them to better understand the customer segment that is probably the largest chunk of their
market share. They understand as to what brand is preferred by students, what their age and gender
is and most importantly, how much are they willing to spend on technology. This helps them to
make future decisions that can be vital for the company. Alongside this, it also gives them an
understanding of competition and helps them analyze how far ahead or behind the market they are
and accordingly steps can be taken in the future by the company.
For this study, we used surveys using surveymonkey.com and a sample of 66 students was taken
altogether. This sample helps us analyze the student preference for brands and the time and money
they spend on technology.
Sample
The survey that was conducted on surverymonkey.com was circulated to the students of CULC on
1st November 2014. The responses that we got were from 66 students and the pie chart below
shows the gender of the respondents:
The chart above shows us that 68.18% of the respondents were males and the remaining 31.82%
were females. Overall the responses that we got from the survey were satisfactory and they give us
a reasonable representation of the student preferences for technology here at CULC. However, we
must recognize that this sample is not an entire representation of the student body here at CULC.

The following thesis adopts a case study methodology, interrogating the nature of the Saudi state in
response to the specific event of the Grand Mosque takeover . Through a multifaceted analytical
narrative, this paper will study the nature of the Saudi Wahhabi alliance, focusing on the way in
which this symbiotic relationship enabled wide reaching social control during and after the
mosque insurgency. Literature on the Grand Mosque takeover has generally limited the event s
significance to a mere illustration of the al Saud s instrumentalisation of religion for the purpose of
preserving legitimacy . This thesis aims to extend this understanding, by applying a comprehensive
social theory framework to the siege. By employing Ian Hurd s three tiered framework for social

How An Accelerometer Works, One Must First Understand The...
Introduction
To understand how an accelerometer works, one must first understand the concept of vibration.
One example of vibration is sound. When an object vibrates and creates a disturbance in a
medium, it creates a sound wave. The sound wave travels in sinusoidal form with certain
frequencies. This affect was observed in this experiment with a guitar string, a motor, and a cell
phone. The vibration of these systems can be measured with an accelerometer. The accelerometer
converts mechanical acceleration to an electric signal.
To record the data measured by the accelerometer, the DAQ system LabVIEW was used. LabVIEW
collected the time and frequency data from the plucked guitar string. An important aspect of the
DAQ system is the sample rate, or the number of measurements it can make in a certain amount of
time. It is an important parameter because without a high enough sample rate, highly dynamic
behavior may not be recorded. Another problem with using an insufficient sampling rate is aliasing
which is the misinterpretation of high frequency signals as lower frequency components. To
prevent this, the sample frequency must be twice the highest frequency. Any signal in the system
that is above the Nyquist frequency, which is half the sampling frequency, is subject to aliasing, or
false frequency measurement. This means that the data is only reliable up to half of the sampling
frequency. However, a sample rate that is too high leads to difficult data processing and noise

Short Story Of A Balloon
Today was a pretty cold day, but I thought I would go out and do a little mushroom hunting.
Being the 31st of October I thought it would be a good day to get into the spirit of things and
dress up. As I got to the park where I mushroom hunt I noticed a lot of cars in the parking lot. At
times when I park in large groups of cars, I tie a balloon to my antenna just to make the return
simple. I tied the balloon to my the wind came up and blew the rest of the balloons from my
hand. Just then a car pulled in next to me. I slowly looked over at them and It was an older
woman with two little kids in the car. I smiled and waved but when the driver saw me she got a
little hysterical and put it into reverse and got out of that spot. I continued on picking up the
balloons that had now blown under my car. I was nearly laying on the ground when I heard a
small boys voice say, Mommy look Balloons ! Just then I heard a woman scream and saw the
boy yanked by the arm and dragged off like they saw a rabid dog or something. I picked
everything up and headed towards the woods. I thought to myself, I should have given that boy
a balloon, he deserves it after his mother treated him so poorly. I had a great idea, I would blow
up a bunch of balloons and leave them on the trail so he could find them. I only had one color
balloon so he would know it was me leaving them for him. As I got to the entrance of the trail I
blew up a balloon and put a long string on it and tied it to a branch. There were

Social Work Attractives
Potential students of social work can learn about the differences in the electives offered. Each
elective is different but they are all connected to being a social worker. You need to focus on
courses that have critical thinking for a broad understanding of the liberal arts. Here is a list of
different liberal arts classes that can help students understand what makes up the core of the degree.
Social Sciences, Legal and financial Studies, Gerontology, Community Systems and dynamics,
Leadership, Communication Skills, Applied Research Skills, Evidence based practice,
Sustainability/Environmental Justice, International Studies and Substance Use and Abuse. Within
each elective, you have a more focused way to help individuals and learn that elective in more
detail.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It s important to have this diversity to know what core elective that you have learned and can
pull that information and knowledge from in order to help. This diversity makes it easier to help
a broader base than if they were fewer electives. Some students may want to concentrate on one
elective more than others as a potential profession. Each elective is a form of understanding and
order. The understanding is what that skill is for example if you wanted to concentrate on Legal
and Financial studies than you would focus on the understanding of the legal and financial systems.
Most of the fields of social work encounter a legal issue whether you are helping a client needing a
guardianship or if you might be helping them with immigration just to name a few. These electives
will inform you of the skills that will help you in having a solid

Jose Hendo Research Paper
This article by Colin Hancock and Heenali Patel, discusses how two women, Jose Hendo, Juliana
Nasasira, and Isabella Asiimwe, are trying to change Uganda s fashion industry by using tree
bark as a role in their clothing making. These two women have used a fabric called bark cloth,
which came from Uganda s trees from over 600 years ago. Jose Hendo, upcoming designer,
thought this was a great idea for her because she aimed to help in bringing back this ancient
material trend from many years ago. Although what these ladies are crafting are very beautiful
fashionpieces, business is going to be very harsh for them. Uganda is known as one of the poorest

This is a very unique process of creating fashion. The use of tree bark goes way back until 600
years ago from an ancient culture. However, Uganda s fashion industry struggles a lot because
this unique clothing does come with a price. Many people who can actually afford these clothes
are very rare because Uganda s economy has very low income like many other countries in Africa.
It also costs a lot of money to even produce the material because you need workers to mass
produce the items which leads to money. Isabella Asiimwe came up with the idea of using
Facebook as a gateway to expanding the tree bark material styled clothing. This idea could help
Isabella expand her profits throughout not only Africa but maybe through Milan, the fashion
capital of the world. This is a very interesting topic because fashion is always known as cotton,
polyester, and many synthetic materials. Bark cloth is such a cultural material to use because you

Emotional Abuse And Its Effects On A Person Essay
Emotional abuse is defined by its devastating effects on a person. It is seen in the forms of
domestic abuse, bullying, and child abuse. Research shows how someone who has been
emotionally abused develops personality disorders, has low self esteem, and even has suicidal
thoughts. Although there has been research that provides a general idea of emotional abuse and
its effects, the research should take a deeper look at how the smallest details affect someone. My
position differs from those who claim they know the true definition of what emotional abuse is.
It doesn t include parents or abusers who claim to know how to define it. Emotional abuse
should be looked at with a magnifying glass because the smallest details are what allow people
to see how emotional abuse affects a person s behavior and mental state, and the smaller details
allow people to give a clearer definition of what emotional abuse is. Although there have been
numerous researches done to define what emotional abuse is, there are many more factors that
researchers haven t found yet. According to Gunta Krumins, she states there are large gaps in
information of this area (IX). What she means by her statement is how there are many pieces of
evidence needed to prove any information given by theorists and psychologists. A majority of
those pieces can be found by taking a look into a person s background. Joan Lachkar, writer of
The Many Faces of Abuse, states that to take a look, we must commit ourselves to an

What is Neighbours?
Neighbours is an Australian television show which previously was broadcasted on the channel 7
network (18th of March in 1985. Although, channel 7 ended the show after Watson s Daughters,
since they had greater success than Neighbours. The show had began since TV executive named
Reg Watson suggested the thought of creating a show which centred around true like stories; stories
of how adults and teenagers solved the problems and who they could trust to turn to. Channel 10
bought Neighbours after the cancellation of the show. This Soap Opera is based around the lives of
the people who live and work in Erinsborough, a fictional suburb of Melbourne, Victoria. The series
mainly focuses on the people that live in Ramsay Street.

These issues that they focus on are family ones, fights between different generations, school
hardships and relationships problems. Neighbours is primarily focused on teenage and adult life so
that it can connect to a widespread audience. This is evident through the high percentage of people
from both age groups; which enjoy the show and how the program is more popular in England than
in Australia.
Even though Neighbours is based in Australia it does discuss about common issues that often occur
outside of Australia. Furthermore, this has helped influence people to take advice and have
inspiration from the characters to help create guidelines in order to have a good and fulfilling life.
Through the insight of Australia in Neighbours; by how people act within the show, Australia has
become a more desirable location to live in. This is exhibited through the intellectual and laid back
attitude of Aussies.

Ncidentaloma Research Paper
ncidentaloma is a tumor that does not show any symptoms until it is discovered by some types of
examinations that were not previously planed. Adrenal cortex, a part of the adrenal gland, is where
most of the adrenal tumors develop. Adrenal cortex tumors can have either benign or cancerous
properties.
Usually patients accidentally come across diagnostics of the disease. For example, a change in
female hormone levels can be a good indicator for whether a person has an adrenal tumor. One
would investigate whether an incidentaloma was influencing adrenal cortical hormone levels by
performing numerous tests and diagnostics. The first step is the collection of urine or blood
samples to be tested for adrenal gland hormone levels. If a suspicious ... Show more content on

Different tests are usually performed to quantify the levels of cortisol, such as treating patients with
dexamethasone. Dexamethasone acts like cortisol for the patient s body. Upon delivery to a patient
who does not have adrenal tumor, the production of the cortisol will decrease. On the other hand if
a patient has an adrenal tumor, then hormone levels will stay high even after receiving
dexamethasone.
Another test that one can perform to measure the effect of an adrenal tumor is performing an
ACTH test, which measures the level of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) in the blood.
ACTH is a hormone that is produced from the pituitary gland in the brain. Thus by performing the
test one can get information about its concentration in the serum. Usually if adrenal mass is
influencing the corticosteroid levels the test will show a higher level of cortisol while giving a
lower level of ACTH levels.
Another diagnostic method to diagnose adrenal tumors is cortisol saliva testing. In this test, the
amount of cortisol in the saliva at or near midnight is normally very low. Multiple repeats of the
test to confirm elevated cortisol levels can diagnose Cushing s syndrome. Cushing s syndrome is
excess cortisol levels, possibly due to the body secreting too much

Natural Language Processing ( Nlp )
CHAPTER1: INTRODUCTION
Natural Language Processing (NLP) deals with actual text element processing. The text element is
transformed into machine format by NLP. Artificial Intelligence (AI) uses information provided by
the NLP and applies a lot of maths to determine whether something is positive or negative. Several
methods exist to determine an author s view on a topic from natural language textual information.
Some form of machine learning approach is employed and which has varying degree of
effectiveness. One of the types of natural language processing is opinion mining which deals with
tracking the mood of the people regarding a particular product or topic. This software provides
automatic extraction of opinions, emotions and sentiments in text and also tracks attitudes and
feelings on the web. People express their views by writing blog posts, comments, reviews and
tweets about all sorts of different topics. Tracking products and brands and then determining
whether they are viewed positively or negatively can be done using web. The opinion mining has
slightly different tasks and many names, e.g. sentiment analysis, opinion extraction, sentiment
mining, subjectivity analysis, affect analysis, emotion analysis, review mining, etc.
However, they all come under the umbrella of sentiment analysis or opinion mining. Sentiment
classification, feature based sentiment classification and opinion summarization are few main fields
of research predominate in sentiment analysis.

Rio Bravo River Research Paper
WWF works to secure the correct volume, timing and amount of water in a river so people and
nature can thrive. Working across the globe, WWF supports responsible water use and
infrastructure. Sometimes that work involves numerous partners across country borders as
demonstrated by our work on the Rio Grande. This river, also known as the Rio Bravo, serves as
part of the border between the United States and Mexico. Located in the Chihuahuan Desert, this
river provides water to some of the fastest growing urban areas in the United States and provides
water to thousands of farms and ranches. However, over the past century, growth in human

Much of this is hidden water. For example, it takes 24 gallons of water to make one pound of
plastic. Some are more careful with water use and impacts than others. As more companies begin
to look for ways to reduce their water use, new science and methods are needed to drive policy
changes that will do the most good for water sources.
Success Story: Nature Conservancy scientists are helping pioneer new science that can track
hidden water in a company s supply chain and developing guidelines to reduce water use.
CITIES WATER USE AND IMPACTS
Stormwater carries pollution from cities into rivers and lakes, yet most cities do not take sufficient
measures to prevent run off. According to the EPA, 40 percent of US rivers and lakes surveyed do
not meet water quality standards. Urban runoff is one of the key culprits.
Water quality isn t the only issue. Leaky, aging pipes waste 7 billion gallons of clean drinking water
each day in the United States alone. And most cities do not take emergency measures until drought
is severe.
Success Story: The Nature Conservancy is launching new projects to help cities use less water and
reduce run off. One exciting example is a project in which students in our LEAF program built a

Water Scarcity And Water Pollution
A Basic Necessity
Introduction
The amount of available fresh water is very limited in Benin, Africa. Much of this is a result of
under urbanization, at one end of the spectrum, and poor government and infrastructure, at the
other end. The population of Benin is roughly 10,160,556. It is estimated that each individual
produces about 77 pounds of excrement and 132 gallons of urine a year (George 2008). This is
waste that is typically flushed down a toilet and into a sewer system. However, this is not the case
in many of these communities. Many homes in this part of the world do not have the luxury of
indoor plumbing or even a indoor toilet. These people must utilize fields for their means of
eliminating human waste. It is astounding to think of the infinite uses of water, and the need that
some countries have for it.
The current predicament Africa is facing is dealing with water scarcity and water pollution. So
where do we go from here? Composting Chemical toilets or dry systems as they are sometimes
known are waterless toilets that use microorganisms to break down human waste. While the story
behind composting toilets has been around for a long time, the composting toilets of today have
evolved to include a variety of features that make it even more appealing to these rural areas than a
flushing toilet. Without any type of sewer system in place a flushing toilet is not seen to be placed
in these homes in the near future. The point of a composting toilet is very clear;

Differences And Similarities Between Lennon And Cobain
INTRODUCTION Everybody loves you when you re six feet in the ground, was once said by
John Lennon. The finest day I ever had was when tomorrow never came, Kurt. Though they died in
the midst of their career, John Lennon and Kurt Cobain amazed people with their successes,
obstacles, music. John Winston Lennon was born on October 9, 1940 in Liverpool, England ( John
1). At the time, World War II was going on (Burlingame, John Lennon
: Imagine14). His parents,
Alfred Alf Lennon and Julia Lennon divorced when he was a child (Burlingame, John Lennon:
Imagine 21) and he had to move in with his aunt and uncle (Burlingame, John Lennon: Imagine
25). In elementary school, he played guitar and harmonica, always enjoying music (Burlingame,
John Lennon: Imagine 32). The first song he ever learned was That ll be the Day by Buddy
Holly (Burlingame, John Lennon: Imagine 33). As music took over his life, John got distracted
and his aunt told him that he could not make a living by playing guitar (Burlingame, John
Lennon: Imagine 36). When John was teenager, he started writing and composing music (Canale
1) as well as drawing and writing books. He wrote two books, In His Own Write and A Spaniard
in the Works (Watson 2). Similarly to Lennon, another musician got their inspiration at a young
age. Kurt Donald Cobain was born on February 20, 1967 in Aberdeen, Washington to Wendy and
Don Cobain (Burlingame, Kurt Cobain: Oh Well... 11). He came from a musical family and was
introduced to music at an early age. When he was three years old, he wrote his first song, Corn
on the Cops. When he started playing guitar, he held it backwards because he was left handed, and
played popular Beatles songs like Hey Jude (Burlingame, Kurt Cobain: Oh Well... 12). He was
fourteen years old when he received his first electric guitar (Burlingame, Kurt Cobain: Oh Well...
18). Like John, Kurt was involved with the visual arts and enjoyed drawing, whittling, and painting
(Burlingame, Kurt Cobain: Oh Well... 13). The two musicians background allowed them to prosper
in the future. In 1956, John Lennon formed his first band, The Quarrymen, who had their first
concert in 1959 (Burlingame, John Lennon: Imagine 38). Later, in 1960, the band

Taking a Look at Structural Violence
Structural violence on the other is the type of violence, one experienced by the Adivasi because of
a national water dam project, the violence of nationalism becomes explicit both through the
categories of poor who are deemed appropriate to neglect and through the failure to help those who
are not considered part of the national community (Gupta, 19). In fact it would be more accurate to
say that the structural violence the Adivasiexperience was due to Statepolicies and practices, which
came to light because of the Narmada Sardar Sarovar Dam project. Baviskar describes the
village of Ajanvara a is remarkably egalitarian. Each man who is the part of the patriarchal
lineage of the village has been given cultivable piece of land meaning there are no landless farmers
and no waged laborers. Baviskar accredits Anjanvara s strong bond of reciprocity with neighboring
clans and villages to intricate webs of kinship and marriage. The reciprocity and collective sharing
of labor or laah have an important implication in the politics of honor in the Bhilala community.
Being an egalitarian society, the Bhilala community members pursue power and status by
accumulation of symbolic capital. The tendency to accumulate power through symbolic capital
such as honor is done given the constraints of economic ways of demonstrating it and because of
the egalitarian nature of the community, but just because nature of the society does not exclude
women from patriarchal forms of power. The status

The Completion Of My Degree Program At Northeastern State...
At the completion of my degree program at Northeastern State University, commencement
exercises were rapidly approaching. As most of my classmates and friends were filled with
excitement, I was experiencing mixed emotions, most of all fear of the unknown as to where I
would end up.
To be completely honest, I was fearful of leaving Tahlequah and Northeastern State simply due to
so many unknown variables as to what steps I would take next in my life. I dreaded the fact that I
was leaving Tahlequah, as it was a place that helped me to grown intellectually, emotionally, and
physically.
The influence of Dr. Kent Lashley had motivated me to become more scholarly and instilled a
desire of life long learning. Emotionally, I was forced to grow, mature, and problem solve without
having my parents there to coach me, and as a result of that, I gained confidence and
independence in my ability to make it as a young adult. Physically, I grew and learned the
importance of proper nutrition, became an avid runner, and earned my 3rd degree black belt before
graduating from college.
The fear within me was simply not knowing where I would end up teaching with my first job. I
had not applied too many places in Oklahoma before my graduation date as I had placed all of my
eggs in one basket. I had relied on a young lady that I thought would spend the rest of my life with
and was headed to Florida to fulfill a lifelong goal. Little did I know that the relationship would

Children Of A Lesser God Summary
In Children of a Lesser God, the perception of deafness by hearing individuals is one of
inferiority by James. People who assume deaf individuals signing as inferior in some way, are not
able to recognize the person as someone who simply just communicates in a different language.
Like with any individual, the only way to break the us vs them barrier is to get to know the person,
no matter who, is by a means of communicationthat satisfies and connects both parties.
Firstly, there are multiple perceptions on the deaf community. James was not able to respect
Sarah s decision to communicate in her language since he held speaking and lip reading to a
superior standard to signing. He had view closer to that of an oralist and wanted Sarah to
overcome by attempting to speak and read lips, so that [she] could better keep pace with [her]
normal competitors (Baynton). This puts an emphasis on deaf people and signing as primitive and
inferior when compared to speaking. Another perception of deafness is one of having a disability
that is easily accommodated by signing and other forms of communication in order to survive in
the world of hearing. This is a view of the principal, Dr. Franklin and is labeled as combinist . The
final, contrasting perception is that of the scholar that James and Sarah visit. She was able to not
only survive with her abilities but also to thrive. In the scenes ... Show more content on

Theme Of Masculinity In The Old Man And The Sea
Masculinity is a recurring theme in Hemingway s, The Old Man and the Sea. The main character
Santiago, or The Old Man, is in a perpetual search for his masculinity. While he has no problem
with established respect amongst the other fishermen, his prolonged failure sets him towards the
sea where he begins to question his worth as a man. Through the ocean, and the creatures that
inhabit it the hunt for what it means to be a man is the focal point of this novella.
In the beginning of the novel when Santiago is conversing one on one with the boy and his fellow
fishermen, the concept of masculinity is represented through a series of smaller ideas and/or
representations. Santiago has very little trouble fitting into these ideas. A large symbol that
relates to a real life masculine thing is beer. The boy brings the old man a beer while they have a
conversation. The boy expresses his want to be a man, and the old man replies: You bought me
a beer... You are already a man. (12) This insinuates that buying beer is a right of pass in
becoming a man, and hence a symbol of masculinity. Another shared interest amongst the
fishermen is baseball. They are not in America, but they use their radios to listen to the games
while they re fishing. Stereotypically, baseball is a predominately sport as it was deemed too
aggressive and fast paced for women. In a historical context, as the story is set in 1940 s, baseball
was for men only. Santiago relates to a baseball player, and expresses the

In order to effectively combat these issues, leaders must implement new courses of action that
involve fundraising and awareness through the use of rhetorical sensitivity. According to Lloyd F.
Bitzer, associate professor of speech at the University of Wisconsin, a rhetorical situation arises
when a circumstance requires the attention of an audience. The audience must overcome obstacles
to achieve a certain goal set forth by the leader utilizing rhetorical discourse (Bitzer 9). Fundraising
provides one way for South African eco tourism companies to maintain their business and promote
more jobs for local people. In order for fundraising to yield the best results, leaders must be aware
that there is no reason to apologize for asking for a gift to a worthwhile cause (Rosso 6). Essentially,
leaders must have confidence in their cause, whether it includes the preservation of South Africa s
wildlife, the protection of its animals, or the promotion of employment among members of the
community. This positive attitude encourages tourists to donate more money or time to the
companies, aiding in achieving the goal s fulfillment. Rhetorically sensitive fund raisers may

The Importance Of Team And Team Work
Lessons Learned
I learned the definition of team and team work in the process of making group presentation for
assignments. A team is defined as a group of people with a set of complementary skills required
to finish or complete a job, task, or project. Team work is the ability to work together towards a
common vison or a goal. The capability to direct individual accomplishments toward organizational
objectives. In my word, I say that teamwork acts as a fuel that allows common people to achieve
uncommon results. It is also important that everyone else in the team understands the meaning
of teamwork. We as team faced different challenges to work together online as most of us don t
have experience working under virtual teams. Further, we have learned that our job in planning
all aspects of our project is never done, and that each step that we take forward requires us to
look back, adjusting any existing documentation, plans, or schedules to ensure that we remain
consistent and up to date as we continue to progressively elaborate on our team work. We have
learned that this process can be both overwhelming and exhausting, but is finally rewarding. As a
group, we have learned that collaboration and responsibility sharing is important for the success
of project teams. It is far too much for any one person bear the burden of by themselves. The work

Marine, Marine Parks, And Zoo s Bring Joy
Marine Mammals in Captivity Close animal encounters provided by aquariums, marine parks, and
zoo s bring joy to many self proclaimed animal lovers. However, many scientific studies have
shown that animals kept in captivity experience many negative effects to their physical and mental
well being. As Mahatma Ghandi, a leader of the Indian independence movement and renowned
pacifist, once said, The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its
animals are treated . It is time that humanity puts an end to their need to own and contain the things
that love; in turn considering what is best for the animals. The public has been misled and
misinformed about the benefits of holding marine animals in captivity. Only small fraction of the
licensed zoo s, aquariums, and marine parks in the United States are actively involved in education
and conservation efforts. Most operate mainly for profit and entertainment purposes (Rose,
Farinato, Sherwin, 2006). Marine parks have a variety of exhibits that display animals performing
tricks in shows for the public s entertainment, arguing that it makes the experience of seeing marine
mammals more memorable. Such shows provide no educational value, in regards to the animal s
natural behaviors. Studies have shown that the information the parks provide is often factually
incorrect and distorted to portray the park as more beneficial than it actually is (Rose, Farinato,
Sherwin, 2006). These facilities try to hide

However, unlike many micro systems , it not only maps corresponding areas of the body on to the
hand but it maps all the energy channels of the body and their respective points as well. This
makes it a very powerful and versatile system.
Chinese Herbal Medicine
Chinese Herbal Medicine is one of the great herbal systems of the world, with an unbroken
tradition going back to the 3rd century BC. Traditionally, practitioners used medicinal
ingredients from all the three kingdoms ; vegetable, animal and mineral. However, the majority
of these are from vegetable sources, such as: leaves, flowers, seeds, twigs, stems, roots, tubers,
rhizomes and barks. Currently, UK law only permits herbalists to prescribe substances from the
vegetable kingdom and so animal and mineral products are not used. Every herb has a unique
action. Cleverly combined together they perform a multitude of tasks that help bring a holistic
balance back to the body. All herbs are of the highest quality and are prescribed individually to
meet each patient s needs. They can be dispensed in a variety of ways: powders, granules, pills,
tablets, capsules or teas.
Acupressure Massage
Acupressure massage is the stimulation of acupuncture points using the fingers to relax muscles,
relieve tension and harmonise the body. Edmond frequently uses it to help loosen, relax and

Emily Grierson Bystander
In the short story A Rose for Emily, author William Faulkner shows a woman, Miss Emily
Grierson, who is seen as an upholder for tradition by the community. Emily lives on her own with
a butler in her old, dusty mansion and has her story told by the viewpoint of unnamed narrators in
a total of five sections, each depicting her life from someone one in the community s perspective.
The story demonstrates Emily s life through the eyes of bystanders. We are introduced to the main
character through her funeral being hosted in her home in which has not been seen in over ten
years, excluding the single servant. Miss Emily had a special relationship within the community
since 1894 when they remitted her taxes. As the more modern ideas arose, the new generation was
dissatisfied with the old arrangement. They had a special meeting in her home where they were
quickly excused off the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is after her most recent lover disappeared and her father has been dead for about two years.
Instead of confronting Miss Emily about the smell, a group of men were sent at midnight to
clean up the smell with lime and eventually the smell was gone. The Story now returns further
into the past, more recent to the death of her father, as the new narrator gives details about her
boyfriend Homer Barron. The town disapproves of their relationship and fail at attempting to end
their relationship. Later she is seen in a drug store ordering arsenic. When asked for legal reason
on the purpose of purchase, she gives no response and is mail them anyways. The town takes the
assumption of Miss Emily having suicidal thoughts over relationship issues with Homer. Miss
Emily is now seen purchasing more masculine items, leading the town to assume that she will
marry. Homer leaves town and returns later, only be to seen a final time entering Miss Emily s
home; she now barely leaves her home with minor

The Importance Of Being A Physical Therapist
1. A couple of years ago, I have decided that being a physical therapist was what I wanted to do
for my profession in the future. The reason why is that when I see people hurt around town it
makes me want to put what I am doing down and go over there and help them.I have always
wanted to find a way to help out the community and I figured becoming a physical therapist what
right for me. I have always wanted to become one but I never could decide when I was younger.
My mom told me that I could become if I just put my mind to it and never give up. She could tell
that being one was what I wanted to do. That is when it hit me, I wanted to become a physical
therapist.
2. By becoming a physical therapist there are some responsibilities. ... Show more content on

Physical Therapist also need to be licensed with a DTP (Doctor of Physical Therapy) degree. ALL
states required Physical Therapist to be licensed. (Bureau of Labor Statistics).
6. The advance in this occupation is saying how that there will be a job growth for physical
therapists which means that new jobs will be added in healthcare segments but it also states in
Jobs.net that not every healthcare segment will have a job growth. (Jobs.net). There is a strategy
for this and it s by achieving details offered by the crystal career ball. 7. Time for the work
schedule. Some physical therapists work normal business hours, 8 a.m. 5 p.m., but also some may
work in the evenings or even on the weekends. I would prefer the normal business hours and some
hours on the weekend just because if someone had missed their appointment during the week and
they cannot make it up, they can come on the weekend.
8. Let s take a look at any health hazards in this profession. According to Shmoop, PT s do a lot of
heavy lifting moving patients, manipulating multiple body parts, bending, stooping, squatting, and
even standing. A PT s constant movement is extremely taxing and heightens the risk of getting
themselves injured. (Shmoop). 9. Personal qualities that you need to have in order to be able to do
this job is to show compassion for your patient prove to them that you care for them, detail oriented
which means you should having strong

The Mill By John Stuart Mill
John Stuart Mill was a famous philosopher and historian. Jeremy Bentham who advocated for
utilitarianism just like Mill influenced much of Mill s works. Mill s works were also greatly
influenced by Jeremy Bentham s brother, Samuel and Mill s father, James. Mill had many early
works prior to his writings on utilitarianism.
Mill discusses how to determine right and wrong, but this seems to be an ongoing conflict. Mill
believes that in order to prove goodness you must have ethical morals lined up in order to honor
that goodness. Mill also focuses on morality and goodness being proved by legislation and welfare.
Mill feels that individuals should practice morality based upon laws and receive proper punishment
if they do not obtain goodness or happiness in the appropriate manners; unjust actions should result
in consequences. Mill argues that actions should be done based upon not simply the happiness of
yourself, but the happiness that will result in others.
Utilitarianism, as summed up by one of its leading advocates, John Stuart Mill (1806 73), is the
ethical belief that actions are right in proportion as they tend to promote happiness, wrong as they
tend to produce the reverse of happiness (Troyer, 2003). Therefore, considering circumstances as
Mill would, Robin Hood would not be considered unethical for stealing from the wealthy in order
to provide for the poor, on account of, him being able to generate more happiness in the world as
opposed to what otherwise would have

The Construction of Fallingwater Frank Lloyd Wright Essay
Fallingwater The prominent and imaginative Wisconsin born American architect, interior designer
and author, Frank Lloyd Wright hit his architectural milestone in the mid 1930s when he designed
his world renowned master piece in Bear Run, Western Pennsylvania, Fallingwater also referred to
as Kaufmann Residence. Owing to his unique perspective in architecture which he refers to as
organic , the structure looks as though it sprung naturally amidst Bear Run s trees and water. Frank
Lloyd Wrights complete body of work was so broad that till date he still remains highly recognized
as the greatest architect of all time. His career which lasted for approximately seventy two years
was apostrophized with global fame, artistic conquests as... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

He chose the site for the house because he understood that humans were in close relationship with
nature, therefore a plan which was in line with nature would connect to what was fundamental in
people. For example, while all of Fallingwater is opened by large bands of windows, the
inhabitants are sheltered as if to be in a deep cave. Conviviality, privacy and comfort are not
compromised, allowing people room to relax and explore the amusement of a life clean in
nature. As soon as Wright had chosen the area on which the house would be built, there was a
clear issue building there. The situation was that the northern levee of Bear Run was too narrow
to bestow a foundation for a house that would be built to his standards (Toker, 39, Fallingwater
Rising: America s most extraordinary house). Apart from this issue, the Kaufmann s requirements
needed to be achieved due to the fact that they had planned to have large numbers of people over
and therefore it was required that the house be larger than the available plot size. In addition, Mr.
and Mrs. Kaufmann had asked to have separate bedrooms including another for their oldest son and
a supplementary room for guests. Wright s answer to the issue of space was birthed when he had
decided to include a cantilevered structure. Smith (320) outlined that the systemic design for
Fallingwater was carried out by Wright in consortium with engineers

In order to fit in with Hitler s Aryan Race , one must be blond, blue eyed, German and essentially perfect. For Hitler, that meant that people with disabilities were to be slaughtered as well as sterilized. Some of the first to be exterminated are the mentally, physically and emotionally disabled. He used propaganda to make the Germans okay with it. Parents were told their children passed away from their disabilities. There were 12 Alwars, among them were 11 men and 1 woman who lived during the 5th to the 9th century in the Tamil speaking sector of South India. They wrote devotional songs and poetry on Vishnuand travelling from place to place, temple to temple and propagated their devotion to God. Furthermore, it is important to note that these Alwars all came from different socioeconomic backgrounds. The 12 Alwars, also known as the Vaishnavite saints brought prominence in the Bhakti movement with the poetry being the Nalayira Divya Prabandham (4000 songs). The names of the Alwars are: Poigai, Bhutam, Peyalwar, Tirumazhisai, Nammalvar, Periyalvar, Andal, Kulasekaran, Madhurakavi, Tondaradipodi, Tiruppaan, and ends with Tirumangai. The first three Alwars (Poigai, Bhutam, and Peyalwar) sang 100 hymns each which were called the Thiruvandadi and is considered to be the beginning of the Divya Prabandham. Tirumazhisai Alwar was very cognicient of other schools of thought like Buddhism, Jainism, and Saivism, however he established songs only on Lord Narayana in his Nanmukan Tiruvandadi which consisted of 96 hymns and the Tirucandaviruttam comprising of 120 hymns and these works of his showed the supremacy of Lord Vishnu against Brahma or Shiva. • 8. A Proposal For A New Factory Introduction Longchamp is a French firm created in Paris in 1948, known for its luxury fashion leather and canvas goods, such as handbags and luggage. Thanks to its expertise, Longchamp is distributed in more than 275 stores worldwide. We would like to expand our production; therefore we chose to open a new factory in Romania. In this report, we will explain the reasons why we made this decision. 1)Tax costs Regarding tax costs, Romania is as a highly taxed country, just like France. Indeed, income and capital gains earned by corporation are taxed at a rate of 16%. More specifically, these data clearly demonstrate that Romania has payments percentage and profit taxes higher than France. Even if Romania is more taxed than France regarding corporate and income taxes, it is the opposite scheme for labor taxes and contributions. This inversion is due to low labor costs. Certainly high tax costs can be a constraint to produce in this country but we choose Romania for other reasons like the low labor cost and the proximity with our primary market, France. 2) Legal environment Thanks to the accession to the EU and the increasing integration in European markets, Romania s structural reform has progressed. Romania s reform and liberalization process created large foreign exchange inflows and a positive view of Romania s prospects. However, the judicial power is not entirely independent. It is very influenced by the executive ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It states, In a study conducted in 2003, support for multiculturalism among Canadians has increased over seven years: 85% of Canadians agreed that multiculturalism was important to Canadian identity in 2003, compared to 74% in 1997 (http:/ /www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/pub/multi state.pdf, pg 7 paragraph 5). This research would indicate a national movement towards embedding multiculturalism in Canadian culture. It would also indicate that although there are a majority of Canadians who support multiculturalism; there is still a group, roughly half a million people, who either do not care about multiculturalism or worse, who are opposed to the concept. Advocates of Canada s multicultural identity cite census figures, including those from the 2001 census, which state that of the approximately two million immigrants arriving in Canada between 1991 and 2001, 58 percent were from Asia, 20 percent from Europe, 11 percent from the Caribbean, Central and South America, eight percent from Africa and three percent from the United States. The applications are only limited by your imagination and ability to position the projector. Some examples include: a window space to see outside, a mirror to show symbolic representations of character, floor space to create a pool of water, smoke, curtains etc. Lighting design: It is important when incorporating video into live performance that you consider the effect of lights on the screen surface. One difficulty in setting lights is that they can significantly degrade the brightness and colour of the screen images if there is light either directly hitting or bouncing from the floor onto the screen. One solution is to set the screen up from the floor and placing some blocks/staging in front to block some of the bouncing light. When considering colour gels it is imperative to consider colours used in the screen images and try to match them as well as possible to give a blended effect. I will define the term group and will be reflecting on my own experiences of working within groups and what I have observed in regards to individuals, behaviours and group dynamics. My examples are drawn from two particular situations where I have been involved, which include a multi professional meeting and residential home for children with disabilities. I will be drawing on knowledge from K216 materials and other sources. A definition of group according to the Oxford Dictionary of Social Workand Social Care (2013) is a number of individuals with a shared sense of identity and/or who are bound together by interaction with each other . Groups may be categorised into sub groups such as: social group, interest group, family group or task group. People may be members of these different groups; however, their choice of membership may be unavoidable, voluntary or limited. For example, attending school is compulsory for young people and therefore the school group is regarded as a formal group . Whereas they are at liberty to choose their friendship group within the school, therefore this is considered an informal group (Adams, 1993, p.309 ). The first group situation I will discuss is a multi professional meeting. The meeting was one I observed which gave me the opportunity to identify group challenges and skills. • 21. How An Accelerometer Works, One Must First Understand The... Introduction To understand how an accelerometer works, one must first understand the concept of vibration. One example of vibration is sound. When an object vibrates and creates a disturbance in a medium, it creates a sound wave. The sound wave travels in sinusoidal form with certain frequencies. This affect was observed in this experiment with a guitar string, a motor, and a cell phone. The vibration of these systems can be measured with an accelerometer. The accelerometer converts mechanical acceleration to an electric signal. To record the data measured by the accelerometer, the DAQ system LabVIEW was used. LabVIEW collected the time and frequency data from the plucked guitar string. An important aspect of the DAQ system is the sample rate, or the number of measurements it can make in a certain amount of time. It is an important parameter because without a high enough sample rate, highly dynamic behavior may not be recorded. Another problem with using an insufficient sampling rate is aliasing which is the misinterpretation of high frequency signals as lower frequency components. To prevent this, the sample frequency must be twice the highest frequency. Any signal in the system that is above the Nyquist frequency, which is half the sampling frequency, is subject to aliasing, or false frequency measurement. This means that the data is only reliable up to half of the sampling frequency. However, a sample rate that is too high leads to difficult data processing and noise ... Jose Hendo Research Paper This article by Colin Hancock and Heenali Patel, discusses how two women, Jose Hendo, Juliana Nasasira, and Isabella Asiimwe, are trying to change Uganda s fashion industry by using tree bark as a role in their clothing making. These two women have used a fabric called bark cloth, which came from Uganda s trees from over 600 years ago. Jose Hendo, upcoming designer, thought this was a great idea for her because she aimed to help in bringing back this ancient material trend from many years ago. Although what these ladies are crafting are very beautiful fashionpieces, business is going to be very harsh for them. Uganda is known as one of the poorest countries in the world. Therefore, people won t be very too excited of buying clothing... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is a very unique process of creating fashion. The use of tree bark goes way back until 600 years ago from an ancient culture. However, Uganda s fashion industry struggles a lot because this unique clothing does come with a price. Many people who can actually afford these clothes are very rare because Uganda s economy has very low income like many other countries in Africa. It also costs a lot of money to even produce the material because you need workers to mass produce the items which leads to money. Isabella Asiimwe came up with the idea of using Facebook as a gateway to expanding the tree bark material styled clothing. This idea could help Isabella expand her profits throughout not only Africa but maybe through Milan, the fashion capital of the world. This is a very interesting topic because fashion is always known as cotton, polyester, and many synthetic materials. Bark cloth is such a cultural material to use because you know it s handmade and worth more because of its sense of being made by a natural resource. Therefore, many others will come to buy this product because now a days, people are starting to get interested in the handmade things. I strongly believe this is a very good step in helping to boost Uganda s fashion industry and maybe their economy in the soon ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 25. Emotional Abuse And Its Effects On A Person Essay Emotional abuse is defined by its devastating effects on a person. It is seen in the forms of domestic abuse, bullying, and child abuse. Research shows how someone who has been emotionally abused develops personality disorders, has low self esteem, and even has suicidal thoughts. Although there has been research that provides a general idea of emotional abuse and its effects, the research should take a deeper look at how the smallest details affect someone. My position differs from those who claim they know the true definition of what emotional abuse is. It doesn t include parents or abusers who claim to know how to define it. Emotional abuse should be looked at with a magnifying glass because the smallest details are what allow people to see how emotional abuse affects a person s behavior and mental state, and the smaller details allow people to give a clearer definition of what emotional abuse is. Although there have been numerous researches done to define what emotional abuse is, there are many more factors that researchers haven t found yet. According to Gunta Krumins, she states there are large gaps in information of this area (IX). What she means by her statement is how there are many pieces of evidence needed to prove any information given by theorists and psychologists. A majority of those pieces can be found by taking a look into a person s background. Joan Lachkar, writer of The Many Faces of Abuse, states that to take a look, we must commit ourselves to an ... Adrenal cortex, a part of the adrenal gland, is where most of the adrenal tumors develop. Adrenal cortex tumors can have either benign or cancerous properties. Usually patients accidentally come across diagnostics of the disease. For example, a change in female hormone levels can be a good indicator for whether a person has an adrenal tumor. One would investigate whether an incidentaloma was influencing adrenal cortical hormone levels by performing numerous tests and diagnostics. Different tests are usually performed to quantify the levels of cortisol, such as treating patients with dexamethasone. Dexamethasone acts like cortisol for the patient s body. Upon delivery to a patient who does not have adrenal tumor, the production of the cortisol will decrease. On the other hand if a patient has an adrenal tumor, then hormone levels will stay high even after receiving dexamethasone. Another test that one can perform to measure the effect of an adrenal tumor is performing an ACTH test, which measures the level of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) in the blood. ACTH is a hormone that is produced from the pituitary gland in the brain. Thus by performing the test one can get information about its concentration in the serum. Usually if adrenal mass is influencing the corticosteroid levels the test will show a higher level of cortisol while giving a lower level of ACTH levels. Another diagnostic method to diagnose adrenal tumors is cortisol saliva testing. In this test, the amount of cortisol in the saliva at or near midnight is normally very low. Multiple repeats of the test to confirm elevated cortisol levels can diagnose Cushing s syndrome. Cushing s syndrome is excess cortisol levels, possibly due to the body secreting too much ... • 29. Natural Language Processing ( Nlp ) CHAPTER1: INTRODUCTION Natural Language Processing (NLP) deals with actual text element processing. The text element is transformed into machine format by NLP. Artificial Intelligence (AI) uses information provided by the NLP and applies a lot of maths to determine whether something is positive or negative. Several methods exist to determine an author s view on a topic from natural language textual information. Some form of machine learning approach is employed and which has varying degree of effectiveness. One of the types of natural language processing is opinion mining which deals with tracking the mood of the people regarding a particular product or topic. This software provides automatic extraction of opinions, emotions and sentiments in text and also tracks attitudes and feelings on the web. People express their views by writing blog posts, comments, reviews and tweets about all sorts of different topics. Tracking products and brands and then determining whether they are viewed positively or negatively can be done using web. The opinion mining has slightly different tasks and many names, e.g. sentiment analysis, opinion extraction, sentiment mining, subjectivity analysis, affect analysis, emotion analysis, review mining, etc. However, they all come under the umbrella of sentiment analysis or opinion mining. • 31. Water Scarcity And Water Pollution A Basic Necessity Introduction The amount of available fresh water is very limited in Benin, Africa. Much of this is a result of under urbanization, at one end of the spectrum, and poor government and infrastructure, at the other end. The population of Benin is roughly 10,160,556. It is estimated that each individual produces about 77 pounds of excrement and 132 gallons of urine a year (George 2008). This is waste that is typically flushed down a toilet and into a sewer system. However, this is not the case in many of these communities. Many homes in this part of the world do not have the luxury of indoor plumbing or even a indoor toilet. These people must utilize fields for their means of eliminating human waste. It is astounding to think of the infinite uses of water, and the need that some countries have for it. The current predicament Africa is facing is dealing with water scarcity and water pollution. So where do we go from here? Composting Chemical toilets or dry systems as they are sometimes known are waterless toilets that use microorganisms to break down human waste. While the story behind composting toilets has been around for a long time, the composting toilets of today have evolved to include a variety of features that make it even more appealing to these rural areas than a flushing toilet. Without any type of sewer system in place a flushing toilet is not seen to be placed in these homes in the near future. The point of a composting toilet is very clear; ... The finest day I ever had was when tomorrow never came, Kurt. Though they died in the midst of their career, John Lennon and Kurt Cobain amazed people with their successes, obstacles, music. John Winston Lennon was born on October 9, 1940 in Liverpool, England ( John 1). At the time, World War II was going on (Burlingame, John Lennon : Imagine14). His parents, Alfred Alf Lennon and Julia Lennon divorced when he was a child (Burlingame, John Lennon: Imagine 21) and he had to move in with his aunt and uncle (Burlingame, John Lennon: Imagine 25). In elementary school, he played guitar and harmonica, always enjoying music (Burlingame, John Lennon: Imagine 32). The first song he ever learned was That ll be the Day by Buddy Holly (Burlingame, John Lennon: Imagine 33). As music took over his life, John got distracted and his aunt told him that he could not make a living by playing guitar (Burlingame, John Lennon: Imagine 36). When John was teenager, he started writing and composing music (Canale 1) as well as drawing and writing books. He wrote two books, In His Own Write and A Spaniard in the Works (Watson 2). Similarly to Lennon, another musician got their inspiration at a young age. Kurt Donald Cobain was born on February 20, 1967 in Aberdeen, Washington to Wendy and Don Cobain (Burlingame, Kurt Cobain: Oh Well... 11). He came from a musical family and was introduced to music at an early age. When he was three years old, he wrote his first song, Corn on the Cops. When he started playing guitar, he held it backwards because he was left handed, and played popular Beatles songs like Hey Jude (Burlingame, Kurt Cobain: Oh Well... 12). Like John, Kurt was involved with the visual arts and enjoyed drawing, whittling, and painting (Burlingame, Kurt Cobain: Oh Well... 13). Like with any individual, the only way to break the us vs them barrier is to get to know the person, no matter who, is by a means of communicationthat satisfies and connects both parties. Firstly, there are multiple perceptions on the deaf community. He had view closer to that of an oralist and wanted Sarah to overcome by attempting to speak and read lips, so that [she] could better keep pace with [her] normal competitors (Baynton). This puts an emphasis on deaf people and signing as primitive and inferior when compared to speaking. Another perception of deafness is one of having a disability that is easily accommodated by signing and other forms of communication in order to survive in the world of hearing. • 41. Theme Of Masculinity In The Old Man And The Sea Masculinity is a recurring theme in Hemingway s, The Old Man and the Sea. The main character Santiago, or The Old Man, is in a perpetual search for his masculinity. While he has no problem with established respect amongst the other fishermen, his prolonged failure sets him towards the sea where he begins to question his worth as a man. Through the ocean, and the creatures that inhabit it the hunt for what it means to be a man is the focal point of this novella. In the beginning of the novel when Santiago is conversing one on one with the boy and his fellow fishermen, the concept of masculinity is represented through a series of smaller ideas and/or representations. Santiago has very little trouble fitting into these ideas. A large symbol that relates to a real life masculine thing is beer. The boy brings the old man a beer while they have a conversation. The boy expresses his want to be a man, and the old man replies: You bought me a beer... You are already a man. (12) This insinuates that buying beer is a right of pass in becoming a man, and hence a symbol of masculinity. Another shared interest amongst the fishermen is baseball. They are not in America, but they use their radios to listen to the games while they re fishing. Stereotypically, baseball is a predominately sport as it was deemed too aggressive and fast paced for women. In a historical context, as the story is set in 1940 s, baseball was for men only. The audience must overcome obstacles to achieve a certain goal set forth by the leader utilizing rhetorical discourse (Bitzer 9). Fundraising provides one way for South African eco tourism companies to maintain their business and promote more jobs for local people. Team work is the ability to work together towards a common vison or a goal. The capability to direct individual accomplishments toward organizational objectives. In my word, I say that teamwork acts as a fuel that allows common people to achieve uncommon results. It is also important that everyone else in the team understands the meaning of teamwork. We as team faced different challenges to work together online as most of us don t have experience working under virtual teams. Further, we have learned that our job in planning all aspects of our project is never done, and that each step that we take forward requires us to look back, adjusting any existing documentation, plans, or schedules to ensure that we remain consistent and up to date as we continue to progressively elaborate on our team work. We have learned that this process can be both overwhelming and exhausting, but is finally rewarding. As a group, we have learned that collaboration and responsibility sharing is important for the success of project teams. It is far too much for any one person bear the burden of by themselves. The work of a project Lead is intense, never complete, and deals with immense levels of detail. The personal qualities of reliability and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Marine, Marine Parks, And Zoo s Bring Joy Marine Mammals in Captivity Close animal encounters provided by aquariums, marine parks, and zoo s bring joy to many self proclaimed animal lovers. However, many scientific studies have shown that animals kept in captivity experience many negative effects to their physical and mental well being. As Mahatma Ghandi, a leader of the Indian independence movement and renowned pacifist, once said, The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated . It is time that humanity puts an end to their need to own and contain the things that love; in turn considering what is best for the animals. The public has been misled and misinformed about the benefits of holding marine animals in captivity. Only small fraction of the licensed zoo s, aquariums, and marine parks in the United States are actively involved in education and conservation efforts. Most operate mainly for profit and entertainment purposes (Rose, Farinato, Sherwin, 2006). Marine parks have a variety of exhibits that display animals performing tricks in shows for the public s entertainment, arguing that it makes the experience of seeing marine mammals more memorable. Such shows provide no educational value, in regards to the animal s natural behaviors. Studies have shown that the information the parks provide is often factually incorrect and distorted to portray the park as more beneficial than it actually is (Rose, Farinato, Sherwin, 2006). • 49. The Mill By John Stuart Mill John Stuart Mill was a famous philosopher and historian. Jeremy Bentham who advocated for utilitarianism just like Mill influenced much of Mill s works. Mill s works were also greatly influenced by Jeremy Bentham s brother, Samuel and Mill s father, James. Mill had many early works prior to his writings on utilitarianism. Mill discusses how to determine right and wrong, but this seems to be an ongoing conflict. Mill believes that in order to prove goodness you must have ethical morals lined up in order to honor that goodness. Mill also focuses on morality and goodness being proved by legislation and welfare. Mill feels that individuals should practice morality based upon laws and receive proper punishment if they do not obtain goodness or happiness in the appropriate manners; unjust actions should result in consequences. Mill argues that actions should be done based upon not simply the happiness of yourself, but the happiness that will result in others. Utilitarianism, as summed up by one of its leading advocates, John Stuart Mill (1806 73), is the ethical belief that actions are right in proportion as they tend to promote happiness, wrong as they tend to produce the reverse of happiness (Troyer, 2003). Therefore, considering circumstances as Mill would, Robin Hood would not be considered unethical for stealing from the wealthy in order to provide for the poor, on account of, him being able to generate more happiness in the world as opposed to what otherwise would have ... • 50. The Construction of Fallingwater Frank Lloyd Wright Essay Fallingwater The prominent and imaginative Wisconsin born American architect, interior designer and author, Frank Lloyd Wright hit his architectural milestone in the mid 1930s when he designed his world renowned master piece in Bear Run, Western Pennsylvania, Fallingwater also referred to as Kaufmann Residence. Owing to his unique perspective in architecture which he refers to as organic , the structure looks as though it sprung naturally amidst Bear Run s trees and water. Frank Lloyd Wrights complete body of work was so broad that till date he still remains highly recognized as the greatest architect of all time. His career which lasted for approximately seventy two years was apostrophized with global fame, artistic conquests as... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He chose the site for the house because he understood that humans were in close relationship with nature, therefore a plan which was in line with nature would connect to what was fundamental in people. For example, while all of Fallingwater is opened by large bands of windows, the inhabitants are sheltered as if to be in a deep cave. Conviviality, privacy and comfort are not compromised, allowing people room to relax and explore the amusement of a life clean in nature. As soon as Wright had chosen the area on which the house would be built, there was a clear issue building there. The situation was that the northern levee of Bear Run was too narrow to bestow a foundation for a house that would be built to his standards (Toker, 39, Fallingwater Rising: America s most extraordinary house). Apart from this issue, the Kaufmann s requirements needed to be achieved due to the fact that they had planned to have large numbers of people over and therefore it was required that the house be larger than the available plot size. In addition, Mr. and Mrs. Kaufmann had asked to have separate bedrooms including another for their oldest son and a supplementary room for guests. Wright s answer to the issue of space was birthed when he had decided to include a cantilevered structure. Smith (320) outlined that the systemic design for Fallingwater was carried out by Wright in consortium with engineers ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
