The Philosophy Of Moral Philosophy
Moral Philosophy is rooted in four areas of standards, one of which is the central focus of
Hedonist thinking. The standard of moral philosophy that corresponds directly to Hedonism is
known as the Value Theory. The Value Theory establishes what is valuable in and of itself, what is
worth pursuing for its own sake 1. Goods that are valuable in their own right are intrinsic values, as

organize her short story. The Shawl is about a mother named Rosa, Magda (her blue eyed blonde
hair infant baby), and her older daughter Stella who are forced to march in harsh conditions at a
concentration camp. The characters are weak and struggling to survive. Cynthia Ozick describes the
struggle by stating their body parts are like tumors on sticks . Rosa is forced to carry her infant
baby in a shawl, comparing it to a walking cradle . The shawl that Magda is wrapped in offers her

faced what is now known as one of America s most tragic trails in history. These young boys were
accused of raping two white girls while riding a train through Alabama. This accusation brought

first trial was thought to have been the final convention, little did they know it was only the
beginning. A second trial was held for the nine boys that shook the entire nation. After the second
