The Revolution Will Not Be Televised
The song The Revolution will not be Televised (Gil Scott Heron) holds a powerful meaning.
Heron is a longtime musician, poet, and author in the 70 s. One of the most acclaimed pieces of
his spoken word has resonated and echoed in 2017 struggles for black rights. During the creation
and publication of this Grammy nominated song: The Civil Rights movements was gaining
momentum. Activist like Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton, and Muhammad Ali are redefining what is
means to be catalyst for change for the Black Community. Gil Scott Heron illustrates attention,
identification, and hope for the African Americans living in White America. The lyrics gather the
attention of those African Americans enduring racial discrimination to be prepare for a change,

Perspective is being utilized to level the plan fields of social importance over civil liberties.
Entertainment is an aspect that is often not racially divided, for an example: James Brown
performing at Segregated venues. James Brown was one of many notable African American
musician whose artistry was embraced by both Black and Whites. Movements are only powerful
when all can agree to work together on a project that is bigger than one race or person. Gil Scott
Heron was not solely a poet who wanted to create a jazz buzz or gain superstratum. The revolution
that Heron speaks of is a non stop action that creates a change reaction that will not burn dime or

There is plenty of open space where one can have a picnic, so essentially your trip can be
extremely budget friendly. Another inexpensive attraction in downtown Chicago is their iconic
Navy Pier. Navy Pier is known as a tourist hotspot. It includes multiple retail shops, a ferris
wheel, an IMAX movie theatre, a crystal garden, a mirror maze, the children s museum, a
number of restaurants, and is the loading dock to luxurious cruise lines. Split the cab fare with
friends to reach the pier and spend the afternoon sightseeing. There are no fees to enter the pier
or crystal garden but there are admission fees for extra amusements for a reasonable price. After
one the evening sightseeing they can either hop on a dinner cruise or dine at one of the
restaurants. After dinner on specific days one can enjoy Navy Pier s firework show. On
Wednesday and Saturday nights during the summer, Navy Pier hosts its very own firework show
free to the public. One can essentially spend the entire day enjoying all what Navy Pier offers.
Other inexpensive attractions in Chicago are the different museums and exhibits scattered around
the downtown area. On certain days throughout the year Chicago hosts free or discounted days for
students, military personnel and their families, as well as Illinois residents. These free and
discounted days are hosted at the Shedd Aquarium, the Field Museum, The Adler Planetarium, and

Music Literacy And Its Influence On Music
Although technique and natural talent are big factors in music performing, it is suggested that a
major skill needed for a developing music performer is the ability to sight read (Paul), which is an
important factor in acquiring and expanding music literacy (Gromko). However, music literacy is a
compositional ability that requires many different abilities (Gromko, Lehmann and Ericson).
In relation to studies on English literacy acquisition techniques, little research has been conducted
on music literacy. In what research has been done, it is shown that music literacy and sight reading
ability acquisition has not an exact pedagogical technique or theory (Hodges). Given this, a review
that examines the research of variables and predictors of sight reading abilities and music literacy
knowledge acquisition has yet to be done. The purpose of this review is to synthesize published
articles on the research of music literacy to help give a better perspective on the variables that
affect the acquisition of music reading skills. Experiments, a national survey, and general
observations were used in this review.
First, the techniques and observations that are used to teach music literacy to musicians will be
evaluated. Next, eye pattern movements that have been observed while reading music will be
reviewed. Lastly, variables that affect the acquisition of music literacy and the success of sight
reading will be introduced.
Teaching and Acquiring Music Literacy Over the years, many

A character in the book who showed the most bravery and potential would have to be Albus
Severus Potter, who is Harry Potter s younger son who got in the Slytherin house. Albus in the
story didn t accomplish the goals his father did in school but instead he became his own person
and followed his own goals instead of his father s and his goal was to go back in time and bring
back Cedric Diggory, and he had the idea of going into the Ministry and getting the time turner
which takes a lot of courage. Albus severus Potter is defined as the protagonist of the story
because of his action to go back in time and save Amos Diggory s son who was murdered by
Lord Voldemort in the Triwizard Tournament in the third task. Though Albus is a very a brave and
intelligent young man he was also a real social outcast due to the fact that he was the great Harry
Potter s son in slytherin and he also did not get along with his father very well. There was even
times where he wished that Harry wasn t his father, and does not really communicate much with
other students at school except his best friend Scorpius Malfoy, who he loves dearly. Albus

Romeo And Juliet Foolishness
What is so fascinating about Romeo and Juliet? Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare is a
tragedy, and a very famous play that helps us understand literature with a new perspective that is
about two lovers that are in separate clashing worlds which doesn t allow them to be together. This
play contains many characters with different personalities. In Romeo and Juliet, there are many
characters that act foolish and irrationally throughout the play like Romeo, Juliet, and Mercutio.
Romeo is known for thinking irrationally and is far from being wise. He makes numerous mistakes
throughout the play. This is shown when Shakespeare writes, Alive in triumph, and Mercutio slain!

1. How much of our global energy supply do nuclear power, biomass energy, and hydroelectric
power contribute? How much of our global electricity do these three conventional energy
alternatives generate?
Biomass provides 10.8% of global primary energy use, nuclear power provides 6.5%, and
hydropower provides 2.2% of global primary energy use. Nuclear power generates 15.8% of the
world s electricity, and hydropower generates 15.9%.
2. Describe how nuclear fission works. How do nuclear plant engineers control fission and prevent a
runaway chain reaction? In nuclear fission, atoms of uranium 235(any unstable nucleus with a
sufficiently high number of nuclear mass) are bombarded with neutrons. Ordinarily neutrons move

Engineers move these control rods into and out of the water to maintain the fission reaction at the

3. In terms of greenhouse gas emissions, how does nuclear power compare to coal, oil, and natural
gas? How do hydropower and biomass energy compare?
Using conventional fission, nuclear power plants generate electricity without creating air pollution
from stack emissions as the energy is released from the breaking of the nucleus rather than the
combustion of the organic compounds in the fossil fuels that create carbon dioxide . In contrast,
combusting coal, oil, or natural gas emits sulfur dioxide(fossil fuels contain both organic and non
organic compounds that contain sulphur) that contributes to acidic deposition, particulate matter
that threatens human health, and carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases that contribute to
global climate change. One might consider the indirect greenhouse emission of actually building a
nuclear fission reactor and also the resources that are required to obtain and purify the uranium
essential for the plant to run. Even after considering all the steps involved in building plants and
generating power, researchers from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) have
calculated that nuclear power lowers emissions 4 150 times below the emissions from fossil fuel
combustion . IAEA scientists estimate that at current global rates of usage, nuclear

Charlemagne s Disappearance
After the fall of Rome, havoc descended upon Europe as it fell into a dark age of chaos and
destruction. Everything that the Romans had ever aspired to build was put into disfunction. As
the people were free from a governing rule, the long period of peace was over. The previous
Roman citizens were left with a new world that they had not experienced before one without a
job to works in, a job to feed their families. They no longer had anyone to pay taxes to. As a
result, all of the other benefits of the kingdom such as the aqueducts and the roads, were no longer
being repaired. Daily life was a struggle, as barbarians ruled the streets, making homes and camps

To start, Charlemagne was respected by his people because he gave people what they needed: a
better way to live life. He provided free education for all of the people in his kingdom, by
creating new schools to educate his people to have a better life. As a result, Charlemagne
became even more likable, with the people enjoying a chance to have a better education as well
as a better view point of a life less barbaric. Next, Charlemagne tried to be more than a ruler and
more a part of the community. One of the reasons why Charlemagne is so famous is because he
tried to educate himself. He was described by Einhard as a great teacher, as he was capable in
multiple languages, along with being taught by some great teachers. Rather that being a great
ruler by educating his people, he became an even greater ruler by educating himself. By doing
this, his people had even more faith in the fact that he was going to rule properly, that every
decision that he made was well thought out. Born into a period where education was scarce if
existent, this was an astonishing act. Lastly, Charlemagne was respected by his people because of
his work with public structures. This King, who showed himself so great in extending his empire
and subduing foreign nations, and was constantly occupied with plans to that end, undertook also
very many works calculated to adorn and benefit his kingdom... (Einhard). Some of these
additions included a half mile long bridge, and a basilica. Whenever Charlemagne would see
something is disrepair, he would consult priests to go get it fixed. To finish, Charlemagne, was not

How Does Japanese Theater Manipulate The Body With Create...
An imperative component of theatre for decades, countless countries regard realistic techniques
with respect. Even though the non realistic techniques have continued to remain prominent in
numerous cultures, the majority of people neglect to implement these techniques into their own
methods. However, embracing and adapting these techniques into realism would increase the effect
that actors could have on the audience. Thus, the question follows: How does Japanese theatre
manipulate the body to create effective acting, and how can actors apply them to realistic
techniques? To determine how Japanese theatre employs the body, I first describe the myriad of
components and techniques that Noh actors learn to utilize on the audience.... Show more content on

This freedom is key to people such as Robert Wilson, who hate naturalism, and believe that. to be
natural on stage is to lie (Janisheski). Unlike realistic techniques, which achieve their goals of
realism through facial expressions, these Japanese methods send a message using their bodies,
especially the feet. It consequently raises the question: How does Japanese theatre manipulate the
body to create effective acting, and how can actors apply them to realistic techniques?
Additionally, it is paramount to examine this since innumerable, granted not all, modern theatre
pieces lack a point of view, or fail to express it. This is why actors must follow the example set by
these techniques and apply it to themselves. Actors who only focus on creating a realistic
performance and showing emotion are only achieving their partial potential if they lack control over
their bodies. Noticing how society changes is also key, for even though Japanese actors attempt to
follow western methods, their theatrical culture is known primarily for Noh, Kabuki, and other
ancient arts. Tadashi Suzuki, founder of the Suzuki Method, consequently tried to modernize these
arts, bringing attention to the originals as its core. There is no one

Analysis Of Absurd By Albert Camus
Presumably, since the beginning of time, we, as human beings, have tirelessly sought out answers
toward a greater, predetermined and/or significant purpose in our lives. The question is still
unanswered, but the desire remains what is the point? The contradiction between searching for
order, reason or existential purpose and the inability to find any type of purpose in an essentially
meaningless and indifferent universe is what French philosopher, Albert Camus, considered
Absurd. Any hopeful searching for concrete meanings is met with the discouraging and
disheartening realization that there are no true meanings. For many of us, the idea of the world

Reflective Essay Reflection
When I started high school, I was afraid of taking senior English. I wasn t very good at writing

to understand TIQATIQAW . She first made us sit in a circle to know more about us and what we
are struggling on because she made the promise about making us a betterwriter. I ve learn that never

it. I struggled a lot writing, but Mrs. Jenkins helped me a lot and without her I wouldn t be passing
English because she wants us to be better writers.
In addition, Throughout the quarter I struggled with reading and writing. Those are my biggest
challenges for this year because I m trying my hardest not to quit. My first essay I struggled a lot
because doing a lot of research was really hard to find information and I didn t know how to start
my topic sentence throughout the quarter. I struggled reading out loud because I over think it
and just blurs out my vision and still working hard trying to finish strong and get better at

Adolf Hitler And Martin Luther Of Germany
Topic: Can we obtain a peaceful, ordered life? Should we even bother trying? If so, how?
Adolf Hitler of Germany:Martin Luther of Germany:
Argument: No it is impossible.Argument: Yes it is possible.
Today we have two great and influential people debating an incredibly controversial topic. Adolf
Hitler and Martin Luther are both German citizens during a time of conflict, however that is
where the similarities end. Luther, who was born in 1483 lived in a very different world from
Hither. To Luther, the conflict was focused primarily around religion and basic human rights.
These conflicts resulted in small scale battles and wars. Hitler s conflict was based on power and
control. Religion was no longer the most controversial subject. This conflict, combined with modern
weaponry and tactics, produced an incredibly deadly war: World War II. Luther was best known for
being outspoken against the corrupt Catholic church. Hitler was best known for murdering six
million Jews. Both influential people have interesting opinions to share on peace.
Argument of Martin Luther Indeed, it is possible to achieve a peaceful and orderly life. A
peaceful and orderly life can be achieved by learning obedience and fear of god through
Lutheranism. This life can only be rendered if some elemental requirements are fulfilled. The first
of these requirements is that there must be a general, universal, feeling of happiness. Secondly,
there must be a widely practiced goal that can be worked towards

Andy Warhol 32 Soup Cans Analysis
Andy Warhol s thirty two canvases titled 32 Soup Cans was created in 1962. This renowned
American Pop Artist, known for his repeating reproductions and gaudy colors, produced this piece
using the printmaking method. Warhol didn t want his paintings of mass produced commercial
goods to be conceptually stimulating. He wanted to make his work relatable so that viewers could
approach them and have a clear interpretation. Warhol replicated the appearance of manufactured
objects and famous icons for the sake of expressing his view on modern culture in a manner that
had nothing to do with personality or individual expression. According to Eric Shanes in his book
titled Warhol, Warhol s 32 Soup Cans were initially displayed in a single line around the gallery
walls. The original display maximized the repetitiousness of the imagery. The display was so
spatially extended, and ultimately projected the fearsome notion that the whole universe was filled
with Campbell s soup. Shane points out that Warhol developed the notion of taking an image
familiar to millions and presenting it frontally, without painterly qualities, and with a flat surround
(as though it was some kind of holy icon) (Shanes, 52). Shanes points out that Warhol formed an
alliance between abstract expressionist paint handling and popular cultural imagery. Shanes also

The Data Analysis For Business Continuity And Disaster...
The data analysis for business continuity and disaster recovery is divided into three parts. All the
three parts strive to properly examine and answer the research questions in a well structured and
organized manner. The data which was analyzed from various reliable sources, such as white
papers, leading companies and BCP service providers, and also survey reports on business
continuity and disaster recoverywill help in exploring the research questions and provide proper
guidelines for employees and make them prepared for any unexpected event/disaster.
Step 1: Answering Research Question 1
What are the best practices for effectively implementing BUSINESS CONTINUITY and
DISASTER RECOVERY Plan. Research for this question will be done by reviewing the data
which was gathered from many different sources focused on business continuity and disaster
recovery plans. Sources from where the information is gathered will be chosen based on the
credibility of the website/journal.
First, how lack of bcp and drp can negatively impact the organization will be explained and also a
graph which includes an effective business continuity process plan which each and every
organization must follow. Later, three phases are created through which we can effectively
implement bcp and drp and the phases will be created by using the data from studies which were
gathered from Google search engine and also from the Ferris State library.

The European Union s Democratic Deficit
The European Union has greatly evolved over the decades since it has begun into a well evolved
quasi state of over 28 countries, and over five hundred million citizens. The European Union has
been regarded as a method to bring democratic stability and economic prosperity to less developed
democracies in East and Central Europe. While the European Unionhas a mandate to bring all of
these standards, the European Union lacks these basic standards for their overall institution. This
structural problem has given the European Union its own democratic deficit . The rise of the
democratic deficit has arisen from many undemocratic characteristics of EU institutions, and a
lack of a demos or a lack of a single socio cultural European identity. In order for a political body
to remain legitimate, it must have the trust and support of the citizens it governs, and makes
changes for the continuation of its future. In other words, if the European Union does not take
action to combat its democratic deficit, the future of the European Unions institution will be at
risk. Another serious issue is the European Union has seen democratic backsliding of many
Eastern European countries. This paper will discuss the major issues that the Democratic Deficit
has caused for the European Union, and what possible reforms can be done to help fix the
democratic deficit. The European Union is one of the world s greatest economic superpowers.

Realism in the Movie, Training Day Essay
Realism in, art and literature, [is] an attempt to describe human behavior and surroundings or to
represent figures and objects exactly as they act or appear in life (Realism 1). During the 1840 s
through the 1890 s realism was present in much of the literature from the United Sates and
Europe. It has been said that realism is easily visible in many pieces of modern literature and even
in present day films. In 2001, the movie Training Daywas released into theaters. Many critics agreed
that the movie was very realistic. In fact, the main actor Denzel Washingtonwas presented with an
academy award for his performance in Training Day. Training Day can be considered realistic, but
many aspects of the film show little realism.

An interesting quote from Mr. Cranky?s movie rating reads, ?I?ve said to several gang bangers,
?Hey, I heard you talking and thought you were Ethan Hawke,? and they?ve responded, ?Yeah,
man, I get that a lot (Mr. Cranky 1).?? Not everyone thought the acting was horrible, because
Denzel Washington won an Academy Award for his performance. Without the movie it would be
very difficult to imagine someone like Ethan Hawke in an environment like the setting of Training
Day. This alone was enough to spoil the realism in the movie.
Others argue that the end of the movie is what drags it from being realistic to fictional. Chitra
Mahesh from The Hindu newspaper writes, ?Which is why it is unfortunate that such a gritty film
with so much realism, would descend to such a pallid climax (Mahesh 2).? The same writer also
says, ?Graphic visuals, a violent theme, and ambiguous morals make Warner Bros Inc ?Training

down to average depths (Mahesh 1).? The author of this article not only believes that the end of the
movie made it unrealistic but ruined the plot of the whole movie as well.
Many will agree that Training Day focuses on the negative aspects of life and that is what makes it
unrealistic. Sex, drugs, alcohol, violence, state corruption and rape are certainly present in

Informal Dueling
This week in Defense Against the Dark Arts, we covered the basics of dueling. This lesson
covered the differences between a formal duel and an informal duel. During a formal duel, a
formal challenge is issued to an opponent. Only magical means of dueling can be used. A
mediator is chosen, as well as seconds for each opponent. A second is someone who takes the place
of the person in the duelshould they be needed to. The duel ends when one person forfeits, the
original participant and second are both unable to continue the duel due to being disarmed or
seriously injured, or both people being killed. In a formal duel, the opponents must bow to one
another at the beginning of the duel, as this indicates respect to your opponent. An informal duel...

was sent to prison. The two informal duels that we studied were the three way duel between
Albus Dumbledore, Aberforth Dumbledore, and Gellert Grindelwald, and the massive duel
between Harry Potter, Ronald Weasley, Dobby the House Elf, Bellatrix Lestrange, Fenrir
Greyback, and the Malfoy family. Both of these informal duels ended in death. During the
Dumbledore Dumbledore Grindelwald duel, Ariana Dumbledore, sister to the two Dumbledores
involved in the duel, attempted to intervene and was hit by a rogue spell and died. Clearly, had
this been a formal duel, her death would not have happened because someone would have
prevented things from getting out of hand. Additionally, had more attention been paid to their
surroundings, her presence would have been noticed and the spell, perhaps would not have been

Hear me out.
Growing up in a Christian home, I never questioned not being a Christian. I felt so lucky to be
born into a home of believers who attended church every single Sunday; I basically came out of the
womb with a punched ticket to Heaven. Others weren t so lucky and had to find Christ on their own.

For most Christians, that s a hard pill to swallow. Jesus is supposed to be the only thing in life that
gives you purpose and security, so if you re not a Christian, then what are you?
Here s where the term Progressive Christian becomes a little shaky. It s a safe label for Christians
who aren t willing to give up their faith or explore new faiths, but who also want to appear tolerant
and intellectually enlightened. In a way, Progressive Christianity allows people to choose what they
want to believe in the Bible, and to be evasive when it comes down to what the Bible actually says.
For example: trying to defend the Bible s stance on homosexuality. Yes, it s true that Jesus did not
condemn it. Yes, only six verses explicitly mentioning same sex relations. However, there s no
getting around the fact that the Bible calls it an abomination, just as there s no getting around Paul
telling wives they need to be submissive to their husbands. Or trying to undermine a giant flood
logged as a historical event. It s just what the Bible says. Analyze it, pick it apart, review the
various translations and iterations, but face it: a lot of what the Bible says is just plain outdated or
scientifically incorrect, and we know

The Makings of Frida Kahlo Essay
It is impossible to separate the life and work of this extraordinary person, her paintings are her
biography. This was announces in 1953 by a local critic after her one and only solo exhibition in
Mexico (www.fridakahlo.com). Frida Kahlo was not only a magnificent painter, but also a
representation of her birth country Mexico, through her meaningful paintings. While in the midst
of nobody but herself, Frida found great inspiration to paint during the early to mid 1900 s. Her
passion for painting came from her traffic accident as a teenager, which left her paralyzed due to
fractures in her spine and pelvis. Even before the traffic accident, she contracted polio at the age of

This accident caused life threatening injuries including: fractures to her spine, collarbone and ribs,
a shattered pelvis, and shoulder and foot injuries ( A Tribute to Frida Kahlo). Not only did those
brutal injuries occur, but a metal bar within the bus also pierced through her abdomen and uterus
causing many birth defects down the road. The recovery made by the strong spirited Frida Kahlo
was remarkable.
Frida attended a National Preparatory School in 1922 hoping to become a doctor. At the same
school, she saw Diego Rivera, painting The Creation ( Biography.com ). Frida was inspired and
approached Diego with her compliments. He told her to go home and return with a painting in
one week for him to judge. When she did as he asked, he was very impressed with her artistic
ability and they became close ( Frida Kahlo: Biography ). Their relationship progressed and then
Frida got into her terrible bus accident.
Painting was the artistic escape route for Kahlo s mind and body. To occupy her mind after the
more than 30 surgeries, she began to paint as part of her recovery process. Fifty five of her one

The Law of Attraction
The Law of Attraction Many people in this world live their lives without any aspirations towards
greatness. They think that they don t stand a chance of fulfilling any of the dreams or goals they
might have. Their idea of dreams coming true are far from their imagination and stick around with
the absurd idea of keeping their feet in the ground and stop day dreaming or even think about it.
What they don t know is that by just thinking about it, they re much closer to their dreamthan what
they thoughtthey were. There are several steps to follow though, steps that will make you reach
your goal a lot faster with just using your mindand that are what I d like to demonstrate you.

you want it or not if you think about it you ll attract it. Some people say that this is where the
saying Be careful with what you wish for comes from. It doesn t matter if it s for good or bad by
having it in your head you just might get it.
The law of attraction has been with us always, whether you knew about it or not (Byrne 58).
Where we could see it a lot is with children. Take me for example, when I was little I used to
dream about going to Disney World. I would see the commercials and I would see myself there
also. Playing, meeting my favorite characters, getting on all the rides and just simply having
fun. I would pray and ask my parents to take me. Down deep inside of me I knew I was going to
be able to go one day, I never lost hope. Until one day my aunt decided to organize a trip for the
whole family and I just couldn t believe it! After all that wishing and hoping I finally got to go
and made my biggest dream come true. That s exactly what a person needs to do, have faith that
you re going to receive it and just like a child, don t worry on the how and when to receive it. Just
wait and have that certainty of being able to have it at the right time at the right moment.
What also keeps a lot of people away from their goals is their fear. Fear of hoping and day dream

Determinism In Western Religion
Last quarter I had finished an ethics class and we had a discussion and assignment about God. If
he is all seeing and all knowing, then do we really have free will. In our book, Ethics: Theory
and Practice and on page ninety three there is a paragraph that states, such a being seems to be
very strange indeed especially in view of the emphasis the three major Western religions place
upon salvation if it predetermines that some humans will be good and some will be bad, and then
punishes and rewards them for something over which they have no control! Such a characterization
of the supernatural being s relationship with its creatures certainly does not square with the image

There is no conclusive proof or argument that indicates that this theory is anything but one
based upon very weak assumptions indeed. Now I am not Christian, due to questions like these
and various other reasons. I personally identify as a Buddhist. I personally do not understand
how there can be free will when you are supposed to follow the Bible written all by God himself
and only men read it and are able to interrupt it. I also would like to point out that if there is an all
knowing God would it not be considered the will of God? Instead of free will would you not
have to be following the bible and the will of God blindly? Hard determinism essentially maintains
that if all events are caused, then there can be no such thing as freedom or free will. That is, if you
trace causes back far enough in history or in any person s life, you will find that the basic causes are
not within human control. Hard determinists are not saying exactly the same thing as the fatalists

Akio Toyota Criticism
A Criticism of Akio Toyota s Speech for Recall Issues Apologetic discourse is a very important
form for the accused to express their sorry, defend their reputation and regain speakers support or
forgiveness. Many speakers will pay much attention to preparing their apologia and spare not
efforts to present its contents. Apologia (from Greek бјЂПЂОїО»ОїОіОЇО±, speaking in defense )
is a formal defense of a position or action. (Oxford DictionaryпјЊ2016) In modern usage, apologia
describes a formal defense and should not be confused with the sense of the word apology as the
expression of regret. (Merriam Webster Dictionary.пјЊ2016) It is apparent that an apologia is more
like speaker s self defense, which is pretty consistent with what Ware and Linkugel testified in
their article They Spoke in Defense of Themselves: on the Generic Criticism of Apologia . Thus
in this paper, the author will make some appropriate and reasonable comments on Akio Toyota s
speech by employing some reliable theoretical materials from Ware and Linkugel. Toyota Motor

Examine Why Multinational Corporations Seek to Transfer...
The HRM policy of a firm is looked as a most important strength which needs to be taken care of all
the time to have a competitive advantage within the industry they operating in. Multinational
corporations (MNCs) seek to transfer their home country human resource management (HRM)
practices to their overseas subsidiary as to them it is just another approach towards globalisation. It
can be an element of success for MNCs if they manage to transfer these HRM practices across their
subsidiaries in an effective manner. An effective transition of these policies depends on the

The whole procedure of international strategy is from adopting the policies implemented from the
parent company to the enhancement of the competencies developed at the subsidiary, which will
complement the organization on the whole.
International experience is also one of the factors that push a MNC to implement the home country
HRM policies across their subsidiaries. It depends on how long a MNC has been active in their
international operations that impact the nature of their decision while implementing HR policies
across their subsidiaries. Having a lack of international experience, a MNC will make their
subsidiaries adopt their home country policies (The effect of corporate level organisational factors
on the transfer of human resource management practices: European and US MNCs and their Greek
subsidiaries, Barbara Myloni,July 2006). A MNC with more international experience is less likely
to adapt their home country policies as the more a firm gains international experience, the less
dominant their home country HR policies become.
Looking from the dependency theory s point of view, the need for control also pushes a MNC to
implement their home based policies. The stronger the need is, the more the necessity of
integrating these policies will grow, and hence there is a probability that the HR practice will
resemble the home country practices. The more dependent a subsidiary is to their parent, the more

Abusive Relationships: The Flawed Ideas of Machismo Masculinity
The term abusive relationship brings to mind a relationship of unequal power distribution. The
perpetrator is usually imagined to be the husband in heterosexual relationships and we, generally,
identify the wife as the victim of such cases of abuse.
However, recent findings suggest that it is not always the husband who is the perpetrator. In many
such cases, the dominant abusive figure is the wife. Although abuse exists in both homosexual and
heterosexual relationships, we will be focusing on the latter in this article.
While different forms of abuse against women are reported each year, there seems to a global,
societal taboo on the issue of abuse against men.

In such cases, the victim may feel like he is shielding the children from the abuser. Also, the victim

Of course, we cannot deny that Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) affects more women negatively
than men in the global scenario: archaic laws and customs prevent women from seeking justice in
many countries. Also, while studies have shown that women can be violent in intimate
relationships, men are more likely to injure their partners more grievously than women. Critics of
men affected by IPV argue that this is an anti feminist trend that seeks to undermine the positive
strides the world has taken in acknowledging and attempting to combat domestic violence against
women.
However, it is our belief that violence can be perpetrated by anyone in any scenario. The world

Investment is key to job creation and growth. When Germany and Pakistan signed a bilateral

among countries can be concluded to protect foreign investment ( arbitration game | The
Economist, n.d.). Since then, there have been over 3000 trade and investment agreement between
180 countries. Many of these agreements contain a mechanism called Investor State Dispute
Settlement (ISDS), which allows a foreign investor to invoke arbitration against the host

They are also not bound by a legal precedent system and enjoy wide discretion. The tribunalists are
not salaried but paid by the parties (foreign investors or host government), which results in
incentivizing a pro investor bias among tribunalists. According to the Fair and Equitable Treatment
(FET), foreign investors alone enjoy broadly interpreted substantive rights which are also vague.
Not only this poses a threat to the environmental, health and financial protections but also give
privileges to foreign investors over domestic firms. Domestic firms can launch ISDS cases using
their foreign subsidiaries against their home government. Treaty shopping is another concern as
foreign investors can reshuffle their corporate structure or establish new subsidiary to access

Although, there is a lot of discussion around reforming the ISDS clause, there are sound reasons
why most states still embrace the ISDS provisions in their trade and investment agreements. The

functioning within the acceptable standard of fairness despite treaty obligations. We do see that the

An advantage to the Nutrisystem diet would be steady weight loss and a convenient way to get

package system are available for the participant to enjoy. There are specific concepts for each
dieter based on their other types of conditions. Different tracks for older adults and diabetics are
made available ( health and wellness, 2014).
Disadvantages to this diet, as well as diets like Jenny Craig, would be first and foremost the cost
that is needed in order to purchase the food. In addition with the Nutrisystem diet, dining out is not
a part of the plan. The diet is restricted in the fact that your meals are prepared and delivered but
there is not an avenue for creativity in preparing meals, this may make things difficult for a family.
Recommendations
I would only recommend Nutrisystem to a person who needed to lose a considerable amount of
weight, and only if they were willing to spend the money for the guaranteed calorie restriction.
Those who are willing to make a large commitment in the form of money may benefit from having
the work of food prep done for them. However, this is not a long term solution. Nutrisystem does
claim that they have made enhancements in their plan and are continually researching in order to
make it healthy and safe for participants ( health and wellness, 2014).

The Middle Passage Essay
The Middle Passage (or Trans Atlantic Slave Trade) was a voyage that took slaves from Africa
to the Americas via tightly packed ships. The trade started around the early 1500s, and by 1654
about 8,000 10,000 slaves were being imported from Africa to the Americas every year. This
number continued to grow, and by 1750 that figure had climbed to about 60,000 70,000 slaves a
year. Because of the lack of necessary documents, it is hard to tell the exact number of Africans
taken from their homeland. But based on available clues and data, an estimated 9 15 million were
taken on the Middle Passage, and of that about 3 5 million died. While the whole idea seems sick

Meanwhile in the Americas, European empires were growing, and they realized that they needed
a more efficient work force. They had tried using Native Americans, but they usually died from

the tropical climate and immune to its diseases, had experience in agriculture, and there was

Informative Essay On Margaret Garner
Would you ever take your child s life so they wouldn t grow up into slavery? Margaret Garner is
a famous slave who was born into slavery in 1834 in Boone County, Kentucky. She lived on the
plantation of John Pollard Gaines and was married to Robert Garner in 1849.
Margaret Garner s background consisted of adult life, education, and family life. First, Margaret
Garner married Robert Garner in 1849. He was also a slave, but had worked on a different
plantation than Margaret (Cincy). They had been married for a long time so, he must have had a
very big impact on her life. Second, Margaret Garner had been born into slavery on June 4, 1834.

First, Garner made it to free territory with her whole family, despite the challenges she may have
faced along the way. The trip must have been a difficult one, with her husband and four children,
they could have easily been caught (36). This must have been exceptionally difficult because
she and her family had attempted to escape in 1856, which was after the Fugitive Slave Act had
been passed, so it was easier for her to be caught and returned back South. Secondly, she killed
her daughter so she wouldn t grow up to be a slave. When she traveled to free territory, federal
marshals broke into the cabin she was in and Garner had murdered her two year old daughter
and attempted to kill her other children as well (Black). She had done this because she hated the
thought of going back to her plantation and having her children become slaves. Lastly, because
she murdered her child and attempted escape, Garner had one of the longest fugitive slave trials
in history. This case lasted for two weeks and was all over newspapers in town (Cincy). It caused
lots of controversy, because Garner s lawyer, John Jolliffe, argued that she should be charged
with a murder trial since she had committed the crime on free territory; this way, she would have
a chance at being freed from slavery because she would be considered as a free person and her
children would be considered free as well. But, the court

After all, every year, 175 million people visit American zoos, to learn about or see animals,
according to the Statistic Brain Research Institute ( Zoo Statistics , 1). This large amount of
people visiting means that zoos need a lot of people running them. There are many jobs
provided by zoos. Zoo directors, curators, zookeepers, and veterinarians are just a few of these (
Wildlife Careers ). All these jobs help lower the unemployment rate, and help to create a stronger
economy. Naturally, jobs help the local economy. But zoos also influence the local economy in
other ways. Zoos help boost the local economy. A study by the Cincinnati Zoo revealed that
visitors spent $23.2 million on off site spending in Cincinnati ( Zoo Boosts Local Economy with

Introduction
Missionary expansion throughout the centuries has taken a hard, often violent road. The expansion
of Christianity begins with the adherents of Jesus Christ and ended with the premature demise of
many of the disciples. In the centuries following the disciples, many missionaries were faced with
percussion and death as the gospel was proclaimed. As missionary expansion occurs throughout
the centuries, often times facing trial and difficulty, the question comes up; is the capital cost of
missionary expansion worth the monetary value? This paper will highlight many trials that have
been faced by three missionaries in particular and explain often by the words of these
missionaries why the enormous cost of missionary expansion is worth the cost. The thesis of this
paper is: everyone is called to preach the gospel; the calling of the missionary is called to live by
faith even when facing difficulty.

disorder occurs when a person has an excessive or obsessive feeling of being worried and the
feeling just won t go away. A lot of times this happens when the person is thinking about
something in the future that is going to happen (Van Duyne, Sara, 2003). Maybe the person has a
huge paper or test coming up at school, they are getting married or having a baby, starting a new
job, or even getting ready to go to their first day at school. To diagnose a person with an anxiety
disorder, the doctor should first look at the patient s signs and symptoms.
There are quite a few different signs and symptoms a person can acquire when they have a
generalized anxiety disorder. They can experience fatigue, muscle tension, shaking of the hands,
extreme perspiring, restlessness, headaches, nausea, and an increase in their heartbeat (Mayo Clinic

The, The Goddess Of Luck And Fortune
Fortuna, the goddess of luck and fortune, tops the hierarchy due to her vast effect on the fate of
others. She is attributed as giving Theseus, a successful conqueror, his power, causing her to be the
strongest of all. The Queen is also ranks high due to her involvement with the lusty knight s
punishment. By simply asking for rule over his fate, the king relinquishes control to her, showing
her immense influence over others. She utilizes her high position to gain supremacy over others,
showing her boundless strength in manipulating relationships. Wealtheow follows the Queen as she
holds similar power in court albeit she has a certain place . Wealtheow largely dictates the court s
actions behind the scenes, declaring, the ranks do as I bid (1226 1231). Although others expect her
to be queenly and submissive, she uses this act to cause others to fawn over and support her,
allowing her to easily manipulate others. Antigoneis fourth due to her resilient agency and obstinate
determination. She combats an equally tenacious Creon, fighting for the burial of both of her
brothers. Refusing to follow the declarations of man over the gods, she buries her brother alone
against the king s decrees showing her unshakable agency. Grendel s mother harbors vast physical
power, allowing her to battle Beowulf, renowned for his unwavering strength. Grendel s mother is
tactical and acute when dealing with her son s slayer, signifying mental prowess as

A Review Of Tanf Assistance Programs
A Review of the TANF Cash Assistance Programs
Roughly 20% of the United States children are living in families suffering from poverty
(National Center for Education Statistics, 2015). According to Yeung, Linver and Brooks Gunn
(2002); Pungello et al., (2010); and Evans (2004), economic hardships increase the likelihood of
maladaptive behaviors while decreasing school performance and poor cognitive behavioral
development. (1861 1879; 410 426; 77 92). To prevent this, lawmakers were spurred into creating
public policy to actively reduce the rate of childhood poverty along with associated risk factors as
well as foster economic independency in families apart from the welfare system.
The Temporary Assistance for Needy FamiliesAct, TANF, was created out of a block grant from
PRWORA. TANF replaced two programs: the Job Opportunities and Basic Skills Training
program JOBS and the Aid to Families with Dependent Children AFDC program that provided
assistance to mothers and children. Then president, Bill Clinton remarked that the creation of
this act would [end] welfare as we know it (Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, 2015). AFDC
had been criticized for providing assistance to non working mothers and incentives for children
out of marriage. As such, program s design was tailored to fill the needs of poor families through
cash assistance so that they would be able to obtain economic self sufficiency (Abt, 2001). The
program has four additional declared purposes: 1. to

Disasters Caused The World Since The Beginning
Calamities have plagued the world since the beginning. The twentieth century, no exception.
Millions lost their lives in World wars one and two, diseases spread like wild fire in foreign
countries, and poverty was striking the world. Isolated events bearing striking similarities to
these were in no short supply either. At this time, no event may have been worse than the
sinking of the Titanic. The European designed and manufactured luxury ship boasted a length of
883 feet and was described, billed and sold as The unsinkable ship . This behemoth, massive ship
weighed well over fifty thousand tons and dominated the Atlantic for her maiden voyage. The
Titanic, like many other entities of the time, was not immune to calamity. Off the coast of the
United States of America, the Titanic struck an iceberg and sank to the bottom of the ocean.
Claiming over one thousand lives, the wreckage of the Titanic left few survivors. But, results of
a new study indicate the Titanic may have a hidden secret, one that was not intended for the
world to find out; a secret flaw that may have decided the fate of thousands in a minute. In the
words of John F. Kennedy in the 1960 s regarding yet another calamity of the era, a day that will
live in infamy. The world the passengers of the titanic knew was a world of difference compared
to our own. Much of the world in Europe was seperated a single line, the line of poverty. The
higher class were business owners and monopoly caretakers. While the poor

Innovative Algebra Immersion
Algebra Academy is an innovative algebra immersion program for middle school students who are
motivated to learn and advance in mathematics with help from university professors. I found this
program in eighth grade when it was offered for the second time at Rolling Hills Middle School.
During that time, I believed that I was an intelligent studentsimilar to my peers in mathematics but
took the opportunity and seized the moment to further refine my math skills. Being able to meet
new students in the program made me realize there were smarter students than me, who could help
me as a person by collaborating and learningfrom each other.
Senior year, I was offered a position to be a mentor to the new middle school students attending,

The Role Of Superhero Films In American Culture

  • 5. Music Literacy And Its Influence On Music Although technique and natural talent are big factors in music performing, it is suggested that a major skill needed for a developing music performer is the ability to sight read (Paul), which is an important factor in acquiring and expanding music literacy (Gromko). However, music literacy is a compositional ability that requires many different abilities (Gromko, Lehmann and Ericson). In relation to studies on English literacy acquisition techniques, little research has been conducted on music literacy. In what research has been done, it is shown that music literacy and sight reading ability acquisition has not an exact pedagogical technique or theory (Hodges). Given this, a review that examines the research of variables and predictors of sight reading abilities and music literacy knowledge acquisition has yet to be done. The purpose of this review is to synthesize published articles on the research of music literacy to help give a better perspective on the variables that affect the acquisition of music reading skills. Experiments, a national survey, and general observations were used in this review. First, the techniques and observations that are used to teach music literacy to musicians will be evaluated. Next, eye pattern movements that have been observed while reading music will be reviewed. In contrast, combusting coal, oil, or natural gas emits sulfur dioxide(fossil fuels contain both organic and non organic compounds that contain sulphur) that contributes to acidic deposition, particulate matter that threatens human health, and carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases that contribute to global climate change. One might consider the indirect greenhouse emission of actually building a nuclear fission reactor and also the resources that are required to obtain and purify the uranium essential for the plant to run. Even after considering all the steps involved in building plants and generating power, researchers from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) have calculated that nuclear power lowers emissions 4 150 times below the emissions from fossil fuel combustion . IAEA scientists estimate that at current global rates of usage, nuclear ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Charlemagne s Disappearance After the fall of Rome, havoc descended upon Europe as it fell into a dark age of chaos and destruction. Everything that the Romans had ever aspired to build was put into disfunction. As the people were free from a governing rule, the long period of peace was over. The previous Roman citizens were left with a new world that they had not experienced before one without a job to works in, a job to feed their families. They no longer had anyone to pay taxes to. As a result, all of the other benefits of the kingdom such as the aqueducts and the roads, were no longer being repaired. He provided free education for all of the people in his kingdom, by creating new schools to educate his people to have a better life. As a result, Charlemagne became even more likable, with the people enjoying a chance to have a better education as well as a better view point of a life less barbaric. Next, Charlemagne tried to be more than a ruler and more a part of the community. One of the reasons why Charlemagne is so famous is because he tried to educate himself. He was described by Einhard as a great teacher, as he was capable in multiple languages, along with being taught by some great teachers. Rather that being a great ruler by educating his people, he became an even greater ruler by educating himself. By doing this, his people had even more faith in the fact that he was going to rule properly, that every decision that he made was well thought out. Born into a period where education was scarce if existent, this was an astonishing act. Lastly, Charlemagne was respected by his people because of his work with public structures. This King, who showed himself so great in extending his empire and subduing foreign nations, and was constantly occupied with plans to that end, undertook also very many works calculated to adorn and benefit his kingdom... • 10. How Does Japanese Theater Manipulate The Body With Create... An imperative component of theatre for decades, countless countries regard realistic techniques with respect. Even though the non realistic techniques have continued to remain prominent in numerous cultures, the majority of people neglect to implement these techniques into their own methods. However, embracing and adapting these techniques into realism would increase the effect that actors could have on the audience. Thus, the question follows: How does Japanese theatre manipulate the body to create effective acting, and how can actors apply them to realistic techniques? To determine how Japanese theatre employs the body, I first describe the myriad of components and techniques that Noh actors learn to utilize on the audience.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This freedom is key to people such as Robert Wilson, who hate naturalism, and believe that. to be natural on stage is to lie (Janisheski). Unlike realistic techniques, which achieve their goals of realism through facial expressions, these Japanese methods send a message using their bodies, especially the feet. It consequently raises the question: How does Japanese theatre manipulate the body to create effective acting, and how can actors apply them to realistic techniques? Additionally, it is paramount to examine this since innumerable, granted not all, modern theatre pieces lack a point of view, or fail to express it. This is why actors must follow the example set by these techniques and apply it to themselves. Actors who only focus on creating a realistic performance and showing emotion are only achieving their partial potential if they lack control over their bodies. Noticing how society changes is also key, for even though Japanese actors attempt to follow western methods, their theatrical culture is known primarily for Noh, Kabuki, and other ancient arts. Tadashi Suzuki, founder of the Suzuki Method, consequently tried to modernize these arts, bringing attention to the originals as its core. There is no one ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The contradiction between searching for order, reason or existential purpose and the inability to find any type of purpose in an essentially meaningless and indifferent universe is what French philosopher, Albert Camus, considered Absurd. Adolf Hitler of Germany:Martin Luther of Germany: Argument: No it is impossible.Argument: Yes it is possible. Today we have two great and influential people debating an incredibly controversial topic. Adolf Hitler and Martin Luther are both German citizens during a time of conflict, however that is where the similarities end. Luther, who was born in 1483 lived in a very different world from Hither. To Luther, the conflict was focused primarily around religion and basic human rights. These conflicts resulted in small scale battles and wars. Hitler s conflict was based on power and control. Religion was no longer the most controversial subject. This conflict, combined with modern weaponry and tactics, produced an incredibly deadly war: World War II. Luther was best known for being outspoken against the corrupt Catholic church. Hitler was best known for murdering six million Jews. Both influential people have interesting opinions to share on peace. This renowned American Pop Artist, known for his repeating reproductions and gaudy colors, produced this piece using the printmaking method. Warhol didn t want his paintings of mass produced commercial goods to be conceptually stimulating. He wanted to make his work relatable so that viewers could approach them and have a clear interpretation. Warhol replicated the appearance of manufactured objects and famous icons for the sake of expressing his view on modern culture in a manner that had nothing to do with personality or individual expression. According to Eric Shanes in his book titled Warhol, Warhol s 32 Soup Cans were initially displayed in a single line around the gallery walls. The original display maximized the repetitiousness of the imagery. The display was so spatially extended, and ultimately projected the fearsome notion that the whole universe was filled with Campbell s soup. Shane points out that Warhol developed the notion of taking an image familiar to millions and presenting it frontally, without painterly qualities, and with a flat surround (as though it was some kind of holy icon) (Shanes, 52). The European Union s Democratic Deficit The European Union has greatly evolved over the decades since it has begun into a well evolved quasi state of over 28 countries, and over five hundred million citizens. The European Union has been regarded as a method to bring democratic stability and economic prosperity to less developed democracies in East and Central Europe. While the European Unionhas a mandate to bring all of these standards, the European Union lacks these basic standards for their overall institution. This structural problem has given the European Union its own democratic deficit . The rise of the democratic deficit has arisen from many undemocratic characteristics of EU institutions, and a lack of a demos or a lack of a single socio cultural European identity. In order for a political body to remain legitimate, it must have the trust and support of the citizens it governs, and makes changes for the continuation of its future. In other words, if the European Union does not take action to combat its democratic deficit, the future of the European Unions institution will be at risk. Another serious issue is the European Union has seen democratic backsliding of many Eastern European countries. Not everyone thought the acting was horrible, because Denzel Washington won an Academy Award for his performance. The two informal duels that we studied were the three way duel between Albus Dumbledore, Aberforth Dumbledore, and Gellert Grindelwald, and the massive duel between Harry Potter, Ronald Weasley, Dobby the House Elf, Bellatrix Lestrange, Fenrir Greyback, and the Malfoy family. Having a lack of international experience, a MNC will make their subsidiaries adopt their home country policies (The effect of corporate level organisational factors on the transfer of human resource management practices: European and US MNCs and their Greek subsidiaries, Barbara Myloni,July 2006). A MNC with more international experience is less likely to adapt their home country policies as the more a firm gains international experience, the less dominant their home country HR policies become. Looking from the dependency theory s point of view, the need for control also pushes a MNC to implement their home based policies. The stronger the need is, the more the necessity of integrating these policies will grow, and hence there is a probability that the HR practice will resemble the home country practices. Research Paper On Abusive Relationships Abusive Relationships: The Flawed Ideas of Machismo Masculinity The term abusive relationship brings to mind a relationship of unequal power distribution. The perpetrator is usually imagined to be the husband in heterosexual relationships and we, generally, identify the wife as the victim of such cases of abuse. However, recent findings suggest that it is not always the husband who is the perpetrator. In many such cases, the dominant abusive figure is the wife. Although abuse exists in both homosexual and heterosexual relationships, we will be focusing on the latter in this article. Also, while studies have shown that women can be violent in intimate relationships, men are more likely to injure their partners more grievously than women. Critics of men affected by IPV argue that this is an anti feminist trend that seeks to undermine the positive strides the world has taken in acknowledging and attempting to combat domestic violence against women. When Germany and Pakistan signed a bilateral investment treaty in 1959, it showed the world how modern trade and investment agreements among countries can be concluded to protect foreign investment ( arbitration game | The Economist, n.d.). Since then, there have been over 3000 trade and investment agreement between 180 countries. Many of these agreements contain a mechanism called Investor State Dispute Settlement (ISDS), which allows a foreign investor to invoke arbitration against the host governmentfor the breach of certain investor protections (Sapiro, 2015). There are specific concepts for each dieter based on their other types of conditions. Different tracks for older adults and diabetics are made available ( health and wellness, 2014). • 35. The Middle Passage Essay The Middle Passage (or Trans Atlantic Slave Trade) was a voyage that took slaves from Africa to the Americas via tightly packed ships. The trade started around the early 1500s, and by 1654 about 8,000 10,000 slaves were being imported from Africa to the Americas every year. This number continued to grow, and by 1750 that figure had climbed to about 60,000 70,000 slaves a year. Because of the lack of necessary documents, it is hard to tell the exact number of Africans taken from their homeland. It seemed like Africans would be the perfect solution to their problems. They were used to the tropical climate and immune to its diseases, had experience in agriculture, and there was already a market for them. Europe made manufactured goods such as textiles, gun powder, firearms, iron and copper bars, alcohol, cloth and brass kitchen ware. These were traded in Africa for slaves, gold, and silver, which were transported to the Americas, where they were exchanged for tobacco, fish, lumber, flour, sugar cane, cotton, and distilled rum. Margaret Garner is a famous slave who was born into slavery in 1834 in Boone County, Kentucky. She lived on the plantation of John Pollard Gaines and was married to Robert Garner in 1849. Margaret Garner s background consisted of adult life, education, and family life. First, Margaret Garner married Robert Garner in 1849. He was also a slave, but had worked on a different plantation than Margaret (Cincy). They had been married for a long time so, he must have had a very big impact on her life. Second, Margaret Garner had been born into slavery on June 4, 1834. Since she had been born into slavery, there is a large chance she did not have much of an education (Morrison). ... The trip must have been a difficult one, with her husband and four children, they could have easily been caught (36). This must have been exceptionally difficult because she and her family had attempted to escape in 1856, which was after the Fugitive Slave Act had been passed, so it was easier for her to be caught and returned back South. Secondly, she killed her daughter so she wouldn t grow up to be a slave. When she traveled to free territory, federal marshals broke into the cabin she was in and Garner had murdered her two year old daughter and attempted to kill her other children as well (Black). She had done this because she hated the thought of going back to her plantation and having her children become slaves. Lastly, because she murdered her child and attempted escape, Garner had one of the longest fugitive slave trials in history. This case lasted for two weeks and was all over newspapers in town (Cincy). It caused lots of controversy, because Garner s lawyer, John Jolliffe, argued that she should be charged with a murder trial since she had committed the crime on free territory; this way, she would have a chance at being freed from slavery because she would be considered as a free person and her children would be considered free as well. Zoo directors, curators, zookeepers, and veterinarians are just a few of these ( Wildlife Careers ). All these jobs help lower the unemployment rate, and help to create a stronger economy. Naturally, jobs help the local economy. But zoos also influence the local economy in other ways. Zoos help boost the local economy. A study by the Cincinnati Zoo revealed that visitors spent $23.2 million on off site spending in Cincinnati ( Zoo Boosts Local Economy with Big Regional Impact ). The expansion of Christianity begins with the adherents of Jesus Christ and ended with the premature demise of many of the disciples. In the centuries following the disciples, many missionaries were faced with percussion and death as the gospel was proclaimed. As missionary expansion occurs throughout the centuries, often times facing trial and difficulty, the question comes up; is the capital cost of missionary expansion worth the monetary value? This paper will highlight many trials that have been faced by three missionaries in particular and explain often by the words of these missionaries why the enormous cost of missionary expansion is worth the cost. The thesis of this paper is: everyone is called to preach the gospel; the calling of the missionary is called to live by faith even when facing difficulty.

Those feelings are extremely common and natural and for most people they will pass. If a person has these feelings and the feelings don t pass, then it s time to talk to a doctor about possibly having a type of anxietydisorder. There are seven types of anxiety disorder and they include generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety, separation anxiety, phobias, obsessive compulsive disorder, panic attacks, and post traumatic stress disorder (Foa, Edna Andrews, Linda Wasmer, 2006). Generalized anxiety disorder occurs when a person has an excessive or obsessive feeling of being worried and the feeling just won t go away. A lot of times this happens when the person is thinking about something in the future that is going to happen (Van Duyne, Sara, 2003). Maybe the person has a huge paper or test coming up at school, they are getting married or having a baby, starting a new job, or even getting ready to go to their first day at school. To diagnose a person with an anxiety disorder, the doctor should first look at the patient s signs and symptoms. There are quite a few different signs and symptoms a person can acquire when they have a generalized anxiety disorder. A Review Of Tanf Assistance Programs A Review of the TANF Cash Assistance Programs Roughly 20% of the United States children are living in families suffering from poverty (National Center for Education Statistics, 2015). According to Yeung, Linver and Brooks Gunn (2002); Pungello et al., (2010); and Evans (2004), economic hardships increase the likelihood of maladaptive behaviors while decreasing school performance and poor cognitive behavioral development. (1861 1879; 410 426; 77 92). To prevent this, lawmakers were spurred into creating public policy to actively reduce the rate of childhood poverty along with associated risk factors as well as foster economic independency in families apart from the welfare system. The Temporary Assistance for Needy FamiliesAct, TANF, was created out of a block grant from PRWORA. TANF replaced two programs: the Job Opportunities and Basic Skills Training program JOBS and the Aid to Families with Dependent Children AFDC program that provided assistance to mothers and children. Then president, Bill Clinton remarked that the creation of this act would [end] welfare as we know it (Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, 2015). AFDC had been criticized for providing assistance to non working mothers and incentives for children out of marriage.
