Justice

Creation is the foundation of God’s saving plan and
the beginning of salvation history which culminates in
Christ (cf. CCC 280). Christian Faith teaches that all
three Divine Persons act together as ONE GOD in
creating, redeeming and sanctifying.

The first man was not only created good, but was also
established in friendship with his Creator and in harmony
with himself and with the creation around him, in a state that
would be surpassed only by the glory of the new creation in
Christ. This entire harmony of original justice, foreseen for
man in God's plan, will be lost by the sin of our first parents.
By the radiance of this grace all dimensions of man's life were
confirmed. As long as he remained in the divine intimacy, man
would not have to suffer or die. The inner harmony of the
human person, the harmony between man and woman, and
finally the harmony between the first couple and all creation,
comprised the state called "original justice."

7. Implications of the
Fall

8. In understanding the theological context of story of
the Fall, we must take note of the following key
points.
The Sin of wanting to be God.
We learned from the account in Genesis the
whole story of creation and the origin of
humanity.
The Serpent.
Christian tradition also includes the image of
the serpent as one of the factors that
contributed to the Fall of Man. The serpent
induced them to eat the fruit, tempting them
that they will be like God who knows good
and evil.
Destruction of Original Harmony.
Since God created everything according to his
divine plan, everything is ordered
harmoniously and oriented to the universal
good.
Three Moments of Genesis Fall.
It is also noteworthy to emphasize the three
moments of the Fall: Temptation, Sin,
Judgment.

9. The Implications of the Fall of Man includes the
structures of sin in the world, our own
concupiscence, and our ratification of original sins
through the sinful actions we have incurred. The Fall
is a constant reminder for every human being that
sin abounds in all aspects of our life, however, the
grace of God will always work for our salvation.

12. Freedom, Sin
and Virtues

13. Freedom is the power, rooted in reason and
will, to act or not to act, to do this or that,
and so to perform deliberate actions on
one's own responsibility. By free will one
shapes one's own life. Freedom is exercised
in relationships between human beings.
Sin is an offense against reason, truth, and
right conscience; it is failure in genuine love
for God and neighbor caused by a perverse
attachment to certain goods. It wounds the
nature of man and injures human solidarity.

intellect and will that govern our actions, order our passions, and guide our conduct
