in many different places. He tells a story of a beaten and battered area of South Bronx. In this small area there was no law or
order since many jobs were lost and most of what was left there were people of color from different parts of the world,
including Puerto Rico and Jamaica. Due to the lack of protection Chang tells us that gangs were created as a means of
protection from the junkies and other scavengers. Their way of dealing with things was very violent in nature, later on when
more and more gangs started popping up they became territorial. They attacked other members who wore their colors on

Abbott. Greg Abbott is the 48th Texas Governor and longest serving Texas Attorney General. The citizens elect the Governor
every four years. Once a Governor is elected, the term is four years, however different from other states Texas does not have
limit on how many terms one may serve. At this time, the Governor earns $150,000.00 per year. In order to be eligible to run
for election of Governor 1 must be at least thirty years of age, an American citizen, and citizen of Texas for at least five years.
The Texas Governor is part of the Executive Branch that also includes Comptroller of Public Accounts, Attorney General,
Lieutenant Governor, Commissioner of the General Land Office, and Secretary of State. The Governor is also titled as Chief
Executive. He has legislative powers, access to media, and influence of his parties, ability to make appointments to boards,
commissions, and judiciary. He is responsible for administrating the law and implementing public policy. The power the
Governor holds includes budget, law enforcement, military, and clemency powers. The Governor also has the power to veto a
bill at any time. Currently the biggest issue our Governor has is with Immigration issues. However, with his vision to build a
