The Effect Of Self- Control On Children
An experiment that explores the self control in children. A way to test one s willpower and the
willingness to delay gratification in order to achieve a higher goal. These statements all fit into what
Walter Mischel was trying to prove in his Marshmallow Test. This experiment was based on the effect
marshmallows and other sweets have on children and their willpower when it comes to waiting to
have it. With this purpose, the view of human nature that is felt presently, will change profoundly. The
key to success comes from direct correlation of self control and willpower because after all, self
control is a central function of [understanding] the self (Baumeister). Walter Mischel was a
psychologist who focused on personality structure, process, and development, and in self regulation
(Plous). His primary interests, when looking at his studies, all include the relation to the mind, and its
effect on action. They consist of emotion, mood, motivation, goal setting, self and identity, and social
cognition (Plous). The fact that his studies all relate to each other, gives an advantage when creating
an experiment. The advantage is the fact that he will be comfortable with what is being studied and the
results that come in. With the background of looking at goal setting and motivation that he has, it
gives this experiment more credibility as a whole. The test was put in place to be made toward kids
and their reactions when it comes to having a plate of treats such as

2.3 Social/Culture Factor
When it comes to the Social factors, population, income distribution, social mobility, lifestyle, attitude
towards work and leisure, and education level are detailed elements of Social factors. For Cochlear,
attitude towards healthcare among the society is the main influencing factor. In developing countries
like India and South East Asia, the average healthcare awareness is low. To prove this, we only need to
quote words from Chundu, Manchaiah, Stephens and Kumar (2013), it appears that parentally
reported outcomes could be related to many factors including the hearing healthcare system with the
costs involved for the implanted individuals and their families . As a countermeasure, according to the
Economic Times (2010), Cochlear Limited will spend up to 15 million in India, to increase awareness.
Additionally, the Social factors are often described as culture difference. Cochlear used localization of
the communication strategy to deal with culture difference: In Europe, it cooperated with Loud Group
and designed a comprehensive program of Public Relationship, which included traditional media,
broadcast, activity, and on line DeafBlog. While in Cuba, it linked itself with Cuban Revolution s

Analysis on Beethoven S Piano Sonata No3, Op 2
Analysis on Beethoven s Piano Sonata No 3, op. 2, Allegro con brio
Composers since the early classical era have used sonata form to express through music ideas which
are at once complex and unified. This form contains a variety of themes and permutations of these
themes, but is brought together into a comprehensible whole when these excerpts reappear.
Beethoven, in the first movement of his Piano Sonata Opus 2 Number 3 utilizes this form to its full
potential, modifying the typical structure in his characteristic way. The sonata begins softly but with
unmistakable energy. The trill like sixteenth notes on the third beat of this motif surge the piece
forward into the next bar. The two bar motif appears again, and is then varied and ... Show more

The dynamic increases to fortissimo at mm. 73 as the texture thins and harmony becomes very clear
for a brief section. In this second closing theme G major, G augmented, and E minor7 in the bass are
strongly arpeggiated before four octaves of C, D and G quickly reaffirm the key of G. This cadential
crash is followed by some of the softest and lightest material of the whole movement, which due to the
surrounding measures is proved to still be part of the second closing theme.
The exposition is finally completed with a third closing theme. Thundering octaves of scalar G major
material with a variety of applied harmonies lead us to the final PAC of the exposition. Beethoven
would have surely failed his part writing test on this last cadence on four counts of parallel fifths and
two counts of parallel octaves, with doubled leading tones. After a repeat of the exposition, the
performance moves on to the development with the soft material from the second half of closing
theme two. It begins a whole step higher than its first appearance and immediately begins to modulate.
Eight bars later new arpeggiated material enters on a Bb7 chord, beginning a twelve bar chromatic
bass line moving to C# right before measure 109. Here the opening theme enters, similarly a whole
step higher than at the beginning. Hearing the principal theme in the wrong key is a sure sign of a false
recapitulation, and the P theme is

Proposed Bill Legislation For A Reform Of The Current...
PART A
The Succession (Scotland) Bill passed stage 3 of the parliamentary process on 29 January 2016 and
will be brought into force at a future date. Critically evaluate the extent to which the provisions in the
bill relating to survivorship and forfeiture represent an improvement to the current legal position.
The Succession (Scotland) Bill is currently in the process of being processed in order to alter the
current position of Statute in the Succession (Scotland) Act 1964 and also Trusts (Scotland) Act 1921.
The alterations being made are currently disputed as to whether they will create improvements for the
functionality of the law of trusts and successions or that they will cause more problems for the courts
in passing judgements. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Bill introduces a very drastic change to the aforementioned provisions in Section 31 as it states
that despite the circumstances when the presumption of order of death is uncertain then neither of the
parties are to be presumed to have survived the other, ergo diminishing the current legal stance
relating to the general rule that the younger of the parties is presumed to have survived the elder.
However this change has the ability to give rights to beneficiaries in both wills rather than vesting in
the younger of the two deceased persons. For example if an unmarried couple die and leave wills to
each other whom failing their two children then by applying the proposed rule in the bill then both
children will receive from the will rather than the younger of the deceased.
The idea of the provisions set out in the Succession (Scotland) Act 1964 were to help benefit the
younger person who is presumed to have predeceased the elder so that the possible whom failing
clause can be met rather than the estate falling into partial intestacy. A case which illustrates this
outcome well is the Ross s Judicial Factor v Martin when both died and the common law rule was
applied it was determined that neither would have survived the other. This therefor caused both of the
estates to be treated as

Malcolm Gladwell The Art Of Failure Analysis
Informal Essay to Malcolm Gladwell s Article The Art of Failure.
9/5/2014 0 Comments What I think about The Art of Failure article by Malcolm Gladwell and his
concept of choking and panicking are totally true. He describes the words choking as a word where
your in a situation of trouble and do something to get out and panicking where your in a situation of
trouble and not do anything at all and panic. I have been in several spots where I have had to use these
two words. I would say though that I am more of a choker and get over my troubles instead of a
panickier accept for one time.

Many argue that the practice of sharecropping was just a continuation of slavery. Oftentimes,
conditions were poor and the compensation terms for work were unfair. Due to illiteracy, the

A great movie is always ambivalent to define. What could be great for someone might not be at all for
someone else. But then a movie is defined by the characters it displays. Some characters go down in
the timeline of history as memorable and legendary. One such movie that scripts such tremendous
characters that have become cult overtime is October Sky . However, the many characters that this

That just implies that extraordinary pioneers are born. This hypothesis sees incredible leaders as the
individuals who are foreordained by birth to end up a leader. Moreover, the conviction was that
incredible leaders always rise when they set themselves up against suitable circumstances. This theory
applies in October Sky very verily. We see it in Homer s characters that he is born to dream, and born
to take up rocketry against all odds. And like the hypothesis posits, he actually when faced with
suitable situations, always rises upward. Be it to professionally take up rocketry and build his own
rocket and end up being a NASA scientist, or the smaller endeavors like winning the coveted science
fair for his school.

Public Education In The Film Waiting For Superman
There is an evident issue with the public schooling system in America today. Throughout the entire
country, kids are the victims of schools that fail to gift them with the knowledge that they need to
excel past high school. In lower class areas of the country, students are destined to become dropouts
because their education simply does not provide them a way out. In the film, Waiting for Superman,
director Davis Guggenheim claims that schools are failing to meet beneficial education standards for
all students. Due to their demographic, children in lower class areas of the country do not have access
to the same educational opportunities that wealthier families receive. Throughout the film,
Guggenheim s use of music and pacing creates a powerful feeling of sympathy in the audience
towards the children that are not privileged to a better education because of their economic status. By
utilizing these devices, the film ultimately hopes to build on the audience s sympathy in order to
possibly ignite a change for the public education system in the United States. There are a variety of
ways in which music is used throughout this film, but the use of sad music and silence are the two
most important in terms of building a strong emotional appeal. By implementing these styles of music,
the film illustrates the emotional frustration within lower class students and parents who are simply
looking to find a beneficial education for their children. Melancholy music serves as an

Courageousness In The Kite Runner By Khaled Hosseini
In the attention grabbing book, The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini, which is about an Afghan boy,
Amir, growing up and dealing with the pain of mistakes and unfortunate circumstances. Amir manages
to hide his wrong doings until he receives a call from an old friend. Amir moves out of Afghanistan in
his late teenage years with his father Baba, a man who is courageous and hard to satisfy, not bringing
much with him besides a few clothing items and a whole lot of guilt for abandoning his friend Hassan.
To redeem himself, Amir travels back to Afghanistan as an adult facing challenges such as violence
and lack of courage to save his nephew and bring him to safety. Amir channels Baba s courageousness
when fighting with Assef, which then allows Amir to relieve the guilt he struggles with during the
story. Baba s actions clearly display his undeniable traits of courage and dissatisfaction in the first half
of the book. The fact that Baba is a strong and heroic man is easily identified by the reader at the
beginning of the book especially when a soldier requests to rape a wife as the price for the truck
passing through when Baba and Amir are escaping Afghanistan; however, Baba stands up to the
soldier saying, Tell him I ll take a thousand of his bullets before I let this indecency take place
(Hosseini 82). It is necessary for Hosseini to portray Baba as a courageous character because it
introduces the theme of guilt early when Amir lacks courage and feels poorly about

Cultural Pluralism Vs Assimilation
Pluralism is when society consists of a variance of people; however, people stay in groups in which
they can identify themselves with causing culture differences to live on. Pluralism is different than
assimilation significantly. This is because pluralism is when people group themselves with similar
people to keep living their unique cultural lifestyle and assimilation is when people of unique cultures
conform to the culture that surrounds them (48). Rather than promoting the blend of culture, the idea
of assimilation, also called Americanization, in the past ensured the English language would thrive
and the early institutions would remain for years to come (48 49). This varies to pluralism which
welcomes the idea of racial, ethnic and cultural differences. Now, interest in pluralism increased due
to the lack of cultures wanting to assimilate, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These groups maintain a certain individuality (55). Structural pluralism exists when a population of
people support a common culture and have small variances. Under structural pluralism the population
contains groups of people who are a part of varying structural systems like schools (56). So cultural
pluralism is when societies have a wide range of differences including differences in languages and
religions while cultural pluralism contains more small scale differences like differences in
neighborhoods and associations (55 56). An example of cultural pluralism would be an Amish town
living next to a non Amish modern city. These groups do not assimilate and continue their culture.
Next, an example of structural pluralism would be church on a day of worship. The people going to
church would share beliefs and language, but share different neighborhoods and schools. Regarding
pluralism, enclave minority groups can be considered to be both cultural and structural pluralism

The Crux Research Paper
The Crux is more commonly known as the Southern Cross, its name being Latin for cross. Although it
was seen by the Ancient Greeks, it was known to be part of the constellation Centaurus. The stars that
make up the cross are: Alpha Crucis, Beta, Gamma, Delta and Epsilon. Quite a few of the
constellation s brighter stars are also members of the Centaurus / Scorpios association. The reason I
chose this constellation is because of its significance to my country. The Southern Cross is on the
national flag, and I have always wondered about the legends and reasons behind this constellation.
This constellation was, as mentioned above, part of Centaurus, so there was no traditional myth about
its creation. However, Crux was not separated as a singular constellation until 1516, by Italian
explorer Andreas Corsali. Quite derivatively, the Southern Cross (Crux) was named for its shape, and
the hemisphere that can see it. The Ancient Greeks once were able to see it, but over time it
disappeared over the horizon, so now the southern hemisphere can see it. ... Show more content on

hunt, sat down under a tree. As he looked up into the branches, he noticed the boughs of the tree, and
realised that this material could help him make a tool to hunt with. Man, filled with renewed energy,
set to work carving a cross, using a stone tool to help him shape the wood. A few work filled hours
later, Man held the wooden cross up to the moonlight. He spied a lone beast grazing in the grass a
short distance away. Man held up the cross, and threw with all his might. The wooden cross, spinning
and whirling, hit the beast squarely on the head, knocking it dead. Man made a loud whooping sound.
No more chasing wild animals all day! From then on, Man used his new creation to hunt for

The Libation Bearers and Hamlet
The Libation Bearers and Hamlet
Many of Shakespeare s plays draw from classical Greek themes, plot and metaphors. The tragedies of
Sophocles, Aeschylus, Euripides and Homer have themes like royal murders, assassinations by near
relatives, the supernatural, ghostly visits, and vengeful spirits of the dead themes which reappear in
Shakespeare s tragedies with a difference.
Shakespeare s tragic hero Hamlet and Aeschylus s Orestes have a great deal in common. Both the
plays are set in a time when the society is going through transition. In Orestia gods are changing.
Furies turn into Eumenides or the Pacified Ones. Social and political norms are changing. The old
laws of revenge and retribution have to be re established. Similarly Hamlet s ... Show more content on

Both the tragic heroes are troubled by supernatural visits and nightmares. Both have ethical and moral
dilemmas , nevertheless, Hamlet is much more scholarly and agonized than Orestes who better fits in
the robe of a Classical Greek revenge hero.
Jessica Price observes:
An onslaught of tragic elements appear in both Hamlet and The Oresteia. Hamlet s hamartia in
William Shakespeare s Hamlet leads to his succumbing to corruption and his eventual demise. In The
Oresteia by Aeschylus, Orestes hamartia takes a slightly different course, causing him to stumble, but
not completely fall.
While Orestes never indulges in long existential speeches or philosophical thinking Hamlet delays the
action in his endless quest for a right answer. Hamlet is not faced with the terrible commitment of
killing his own mother. He has to kill his uncle to whom one is not as dearly related as a son is to his
mother. Still he does not consider it right to kill his uncle on an apparitions command. He puts him to
test to affirm what his father s ghost said. He arranges a play based on the actual event of king s
murder to be performed before his uncle and mother and note their responses to it. Even after his
suspicion is validated he cannot bring himself round to kill his uncle. He wants to heal what has been
hurt, make right what is wrong, do the justice but deep inside he does not want to kill Claudius.
Orestes, on the other hand, right

A Method Of Preventing School Shootings
A method of preventing school shootings would be to acknowledge risk factors that the student is
facing. For example, bullying is a risk factor for school shootings. In a research study done in 2001 of
37 school shootings, it was reported that 75% of the school shooters felt bullied, threatened, or injured
by others in which most of the shooters in the report had experienced long term bullying and
harassment from their peers (Duplechain Morris, 2014). In addition, the authors do state: School
personnel too often accept that children get teased and bullied every day, because teachers, parents,
students, and other adults have grown up thinking that bullying is a normal part of school life. It has
easily become an accepted part of today s school culture (Ibid, 2014). The authors believe that schools
view bullying as something that students should get used to. This does show how bullying is an issue
in schools. It is not solely to blame in regards to school shootings, but is a risk factor for them.
Relationships and past traumas are risk factors for school shootings (Duplechain Morris, 2014). The
author states in regards to relationships and school shootings
The lack of attachment with their parents or caregivers at the beginning of their life to some of the
school shooters. Sueng Hui Cho, who was the shooter of the Virginia Tech Massacre on April 16, 2007
suffered from this kind of risk factor. Cho did not communicate with his parents or those around him

Differences Between The Middle Colonies And The Southern...
The three regional colonies which are New England, the Middle Colonies and the Southern Colonies
did not exactly merge by the outbreak of the revolution because of distinct ethnic grouping that
existed in Americas at the time. Immigration to the Americas began in the seventeenth century with
England being the primary source of immigration, however, it was not until the eighteenth century that
thousands of people from continental Europe fled their homes to the new territory to avoid war and
oppression. Once settled in America, the array of ethnic groups led to division between different
colonies, more so between the three regional alignments which were New England, the Middle
Colonies and the Southern Colonies. The economic, political, and social subsistence of each colony
was different and this contributed to the division that existed. New England capitalized on ship

Colonies became the most skilled farmers in the colony.
The Southern Colony was predominantly rural and members of this colony enjoyed overseas culture,
which is evidenced by their aristocratic buildings and clothing. Regions of the Southern Colony such
as Georgia and Virginia had fertile land and in farmers found in the tidewater area partook in slave

H. Pylori Research Paper
Over half of human stomachs in the world are colonized by H. pylori. This bacterium is the culprit for
almost 80% of all gastric adenocarcinoma cases and upwards of 90% of all duodenal peptic ulcer
cases making it the second most common bacterial infection worldwide (6). Those colonized with H.
pylori have a two to six times increased risk of forming gastric cancer or ulcers. Because of this, H.
pylori has since been classified as a class I carcinogen. There are currently two completely sequenced
genomes of H. pylori (strain 26695 and strain J99) which have been revolutionary in the research and

pylori s expression of a Type IV secretion system suggests it utilizes horizontal gene transfer to uptake
DNA to and from host cells or other bacterial cells in its environment. H. pylori uses its T4SS to inject
the highly pathogenic cagA protein into the gastric epithelial cells of the human host which then
phosphorylates and interferes with human host signaling cascades related to cell differentiation,
proliferation, motility and cytoskeletal rearrangement causing H. pylori induced proinflammatory
responses via IL 8 activation and NF κB stimulation. This sequence of events results in the elongation
of infected host epithelial cells, characteristic of H. pylori illness, termed the hummingbird phenotype
(2). It has been shown that almost 100% of all Eastern Asian strains express the cagA protein while
only about 60 70% of the Western strains express a functional cagA protein. It is clear to see that
geographical regions have dramatic differences in virulence and pathogenicity of H. pylori strains
further proving the vast diversity in the genetics of the bacteria. The H. pylori T4SS can be assessed in
three different clusters of genes. The first is the protein type IV secretion system (pT4SS) whose
primary function is to translocate the cagA protein. The cag pathogenicity island uses 18 out of its 27
genes to translocate cagA into the host cells and 14 genes are used in

Lizzie Borden Guilty Essay
Lizzie Borden Murder trial
The borden house,Lizzie, her parents, the axe,Lizzie Borden is guilty. This is the story of a young

I will give my evidence and reasoning on to why I think Lizzie is guilty. In today s perspective people
would argue that Lizzie is guilty, but back in the old times when the murder happened people would
have a stronger belief to that she is not guilty.I think that Lizzie Borden is guilty.
One vital reason why Lizzie Borden is guilty is because she burned her dress. In the article The trial of

dress that she wore on the day of the murder, when her sister asked what she was doing she replied
with I am going to burn this old thing up,it is covered with paint.Lizzie borden burning her dress that
she wore on the day of the murder makes her guilty in my opinion. This evidence suggests Lizzie s

Reform In The Austrian Empire, Russia, And Great Britain...
There were many efforts for reform in the Austrian Empire, Russia, and Great Britain between 1850
and 1870. In the Austrian Empire, Ausgleich created the Dual Monarchy of Austria Hungary. Each
state was granted its own constitution, legislature and governmental machinery for domestic affairs. A
single monarch was also established to hold the two states together. The Ausgleich was only
successful in allowing the German speaking Austrians and Hungarians to dominate minority groups
such as the Slavic people. In imperial Russia, Alexander issued an emancipation edict that freed

  • 2. The Effect Of Self- Control On Children An experiment that explores the self control in children. A way to test one s willpower and the willingness to delay gratification in order to achieve a higher goal. These statements all fit into what Walter Mischel was trying to prove in his Marshmallow Test. This experiment was based on the effect marshmallows and other sweets have on children and their willpower when it comes to waiting to have it. With this purpose, the view of human nature that is felt presently, will change profoundly. The key to success comes from direct correlation of self control and willpower because after all, self control is a central function of [understanding] the self (Baumeister). Walter Mischel was a psychologist who focused on personality structure, process, and development, and in self regulation (Plous). His primary interests, when looking at his studies, all include the relation to the mind, and its effect on action. They consist of emotion, mood, motivation, goal setting, self and identity, and social cognition (Plous). The fact that his studies all relate to each other, gives an advantage when creating an experiment. The advantage is the fact that he will be comfortable with what is being studied and the results that come in. With the background of looking at goal setting and motivation that he has, it gives this experiment more credibility as a whole. The test was put in place to be made toward kids and their reactions when it comes to having a plate of treats such as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For Cochlear, attitude towards healthcare among the society is the main influencing factor. In developing countries like India and South East Asia, the average healthcare awareness is low. To prove this, we only need to quote words from Chundu, Manchaiah, Stephens and Kumar (2013), it appears that parentally reported outcomes could be related to many factors including the hearing healthcare system with the costs involved for the implanted individuals and their families . As a countermeasure, according to the Economic Times (2010), Cochlear Limited will spend up to 15 million in India, to increase awareness. Additionally, the Social factors are often described as culture difference. Cochlear used localization of the communication strategy to deal with culture difference: In Europe, it cooperated with Loud Group and designed a comprehensive program of Public Relationship, which included traditional media, broadcast, activity, and on line DeafBlog. • 5. Analysis on Beethoven S Piano Sonata No3, Op 2 Analysis on Beethoven s Piano Sonata No 3, op. 2, Allegro con brio Composers since the early classical era have used sonata form to express through music ideas which are at once complex and unified. This form contains a variety of themes and permutations of these themes, but is brought together into a comprehensible whole when these excerpts reappear. Beethoven, in the first movement of his Piano Sonata Opus 2 Number 3 utilizes this form to its full potential, modifying the typical structure in his characteristic way. The sonata begins softly but with unmistakable energy. The trill like sixteenth notes on the third beat of this motif surge the piece forward into the next bar. The two bar motif appears again, and is then varied and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The dynamic increases to fortissimo at mm. 73 as the texture thins and harmony becomes very clear for a brief section. In this second closing theme G major, G augmented, and E minor7 in the bass are strongly arpeggiated before four octaves of C, D and G quickly reaffirm the key of G. This cadential crash is followed by some of the softest and lightest material of the whole movement, which due to the surrounding measures is proved to still be part of the second closing theme. The exposition is finally completed with a third closing theme. Thundering octaves of scalar G major material with a variety of applied harmonies lead us to the final PAC of the exposition. Beethoven would have surely failed his part writing test on this last cadence on four counts of parallel fifths and two counts of parallel octaves, with doubled leading tones. After a repeat of the exposition, the performance moves on to the development with the soft material from the second half of closing theme two. It begins a whole step higher than its first appearance and immediately begins to modulate. Eight bars later new arpeggiated material enters on a Bb7 chord, beginning a twelve bar chromatic bass line moving to C# right before measure 109. Here the opening theme enters, similarly a whole step higher than at the beginning. Hearing the principal theme in the wrong key is a sure sign of a false recapitulation, and the P theme is ... • 7. Proposed Bill Legislation For A Reform Of The Current... PART A The Succession (Scotland) Bill passed stage 3 of the parliamentary process on 29 January 2016 and will be brought into force at a future date. Critically evaluate the extent to which the provisions in the bill relating to survivorship and forfeiture represent an improvement to the current legal position. The Succession (Scotland) Bill is currently in the process of being processed in order to alter the current position of Statute in the Succession (Scotland) Act 1964 and also Trusts (Scotland) Act 1921. The alterations being made are currently disputed as to whether they will create improvements for the functionality of the law of trusts and successions or that they will cause more problems for the courts in passing judgements. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Bill introduces a very drastic change to the aforementioned provisions in Section 31 as it states that despite the circumstances when the presumption of order of death is uncertain then neither of the parties are to be presumed to have survived the other, ergo diminishing the current legal stance relating to the general rule that the younger of the parties is presumed to have survived the elder. However this change has the ability to give rights to beneficiaries in both wills rather than vesting in the younger of the two deceased persons. For example if an unmarried couple die and leave wills to each other whom failing their two children then by applying the proposed rule in the bill then both children will receive from the will rather than the younger of the deceased. The idea of the provisions set out in the Succession (Scotland) Act 1964 were to help benefit the younger person who is presumed to have predeceased the elder so that the possible whom failing clause can be met rather than the estate falling into partial intestacy. A case which illustrates this outcome well is the Ross s Judicial Factor v Martin when both died and the common law rule was applied it was determined that neither would have survived the other. • 12. Public Education In The Film Waiting For Superman There is an evident issue with the public schooling system in America today. Throughout the entire country, kids are the victims of schools that fail to gift them with the knowledge that they need to excel past high school. In lower class areas of the country, students are destined to become dropouts because their education simply does not provide them a way out. In the film, Waiting for Superman, director Davis Guggenheim claims that schools are failing to meet beneficial education standards for all students. Due to their demographic, children in lower class areas of the country do not have access to the same educational opportunities that wealthier families receive. Throughout the film, Guggenheim s use of music and pacing creates a powerful feeling of sympathy in the audience towards the children that are not privileged to a better education because of their economic status. By utilizing these devices, the film ultimately hopes to build on the audience s sympathy in order to possibly ignite a change for the public education system in the United States. There are a variety of ways in which music is used throughout this film, but the use of sad music and silence are the two most important in terms of building a strong emotional appeal. Amir manages to hide his wrong doings until he receives a call from an old friend. Amir moves out of Afghanistan in his late teenage years with his father Baba, a man who is courageous and hard to satisfy, not bringing much with him besides a few clothing items and a whole lot of guilt for abandoning his friend Hassan. To redeem himself, Amir travels back to Afghanistan as an adult facing challenges such as violence and lack of courage to save his nephew and bring him to safety. Amir channels Baba s courageousness when fighting with Assef, which then allows Amir to relieve the guilt he struggles with during the story. Baba s actions clearly display his undeniable traits of courage and dissatisfaction in the first half of the book. The fact that Baba is a strong and heroic man is easily identified by the reader at the beginning of the book especially when a soldier requests to rape a wife as the price for the truck passing through when Baba and Amir are escaping Afghanistan; however, Baba stands up to the soldier saying, Tell him I ll take a thousand of his bullets before I let this indecency take place (Hosseini 82). Quite a few of the constellation s brighter stars are also members of the Centaurus / Scorpios association. The reason I chose this constellation is because of its significance to my country. This constellation was, as mentioned above, part of Centaurus, so there was no traditional myth about its creation. This bacterium is the culprit for almost 80% of all gastric adenocarcinoma cases and upwards of 90% of all duodenal peptic ulcer cases making it the second most common bacterial infection worldwide (6). Those colonized with H. pylori have a two to six times increased risk of forming gastric cancer or ulcers. Because of this, H. pylori has since been classified as a class I carcinogen. There are currently two completely sequenced genomes of H. pylori (strain 26695 and strain J99) which have been revolutionary in the research and understanding of its genetic diversity and pathogenic mechanisms. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... pylori s expression of a Type IV secretion system suggests it utilizes horizontal gene transfer to uptake DNA to and from host cells or other bacterial cells in its environment. H. pylori uses its T4SS to inject the highly pathogenic cagA protein into the gastric epithelial cells of the human host which then phosphorylates and interferes with human host signaling cascades related to cell differentiation, proliferation, motility and cytoskeletal rearrangement causing H. pylori induced proinflammatory responses via IL 8 activation and NF κB stimulation. This sequence of events results in the elongation of infected host epithelial cells, characteristic of H. pylori illness, termed the hummingbird phenotype (2). It has been shown that almost 100% of all Eastern Asian strains express the cagA protein while only about 60 70% of the Western strains express a functional cagA protein. It is clear to see that geographical regions have dramatic differences in virulence and pathogenicity of H. pylori strains further proving the vast diversity in the genetics of the bacteria. The H. pylori T4SS can be assessed in three different clusters of genes. The first is the protein type IV secretion system (pT4SS) whose primary function is to translocate the cagA protein. The cag pathogenicity island uses 18 out of its 27 genes to translocate cagA into the host cells and 14 genes are used in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Lizzie Borden Guilty Essay Lizzie Borden Murder trial The borden house,Lizzie, her parents, the axe,Lizzie Borden is guilty. This is the story of a young woman named Lizzie Borden who is accused of whether she murdered her parents or not.In this essay I will give my evidence and reasoning on to why I think Lizzie is guilty. In today s perspective people would argue that Lizzie is guilty, but back in the old times when the murder happened people would have a stronger belief to that she is not guilty.I think that Lizzie Borden is guilty. One vital reason why Lizzie Borden is guilty is because she burned her dress. In the article The trial of Lizzie Borden:an accountant it states that Lizzie was caught by her sister Emma Borden burning the dress that she wore on the day of the murder, when her sister asked what she was doing she replied with I am going to burn this old thing up,it is covered with paint.Lizzie borden burning her dress that she wore on the day of the murder makes her guilty in my opinion. This evidence suggests Lizzie s guilt because she wore that same dress on the day of the murder. She simply could of threw it out or put it away, there was point of burning it up because there were other reason to solve her problem.Due to the fact of Lizzie burning the dress backs up her guilt. ...
