Australia is a beautiful yet harsh country, the environment itself is well known for its aroid beauty as well as the tourist attractions like Uluru or the
Sydney Harbor Bridge. Australia is one of the many countries that are able to celebrate and advertise being a diverse community, because we are so
multicultural it is a factor that brings us closer together as a society. We can see how accepting Australian citizens are through events such as Australia
day because everyone of all different races, cultures and nationalities come together to celebrate this one day. To me, being an Australian citizen is all

The Hubble Telescope and Its Discoveries Essay
Hubble Space Telescope and Significant Discoveries
Funding was approved in 1977 for a Large Space Telescope in 1977 and in 1983 it was renamed Hubble Space Telescope in honor of astronomer
Edwin P. Hubble who discovered evidence of an expanding universe and the existence of other galaxies. Work was completed in 1985 and it was
launched and deployed from the Space Shuttle Discovery in April of 1990, 350 miles above earth. Since its deployment, there have been five services,
each service to perform corrective and preventive maintenance, add upgrades to the equipment, or both. In 2011, the Hubble space Telescope
celebrated its millionth observation, the spectroscopic analysis of HAT P 7b an exoplanet orbiting around the star HAT P 7 ... Show more content on

Based on observations of galaxies, galaxy clusters and cosmic microwave background, scientists determined that most of the universe s mass is
composed of dark matter. Dark matter does not emit light but can be detected by the way its gravity distorts the images of the background galaxies.
Using large 3 D models of the distribution, scientists have determined dark matter clumping increases over time (Livio, 2010).
The Hubble Space Telescope has been key in not only confirming the universe s expansion but also the further defining the rate of the expansion.
Edwin Hubble in 1929 provided the first evidence of the expansion of the universe and its finite age with his Hubble constant. The constant says that
the farther a galaxy is the faster the acceleration, therefore the universe is expanding. The ability of the Hubble Telescope to resolve Cepheid variable
stars farther out than could previously be done by ground based telescope allowed scientists to see further out and therefore longer periods of time than
they ever could before. This ability to look further back in the past has allowed scientists to better define the expansion rate of the universe. When
Hubble was first launched, the expansion rate was estimated between 50 100 km/sec/Mpc. In 1994 it was determined to be 80 km/sec/Mpc with a 10
percent rate of error. In 2009, scientists, using observations of Cepheids in faraway galaxies, were able to narrow

EH-Muulsep And SEP Case Study
In the first scenario, we considered two types of heterogeneous nodes ($2418$ $class$ $1$ and $1582$ $class$ $2$). Figure ref{fhlnds s1} shows the
$F!N!D$, $L!N!D$, and $H!N!D$ in the three protocols for scenario 1, while Figures ref{alive vs rounds s1} and ref{energy vs rounds s1} show
the number of active nodes and the total amount of dissipated energy over the simulation time (rounds) respectively. As we can see from these figures,
EH mulSEP provides a better performance than that of SEP and mulSEP versions. It increases the stable region over the traditional SEP and mulSEP by
$135%$ and $37%$; and the total network lifetime by $101%$ and $82%$ respectively. Also, we can see that EH mulSEP dissipates the least

achieves higher levels of power conservation.

Tb Is A Treatable And Curable Disease Essay
Although the epidemiology is concerning, TB is a treatable and curable disease. The WHO has detailed guidelines for the treatment of TB, which
specifies that successful TB treatment requires accurate early diagnosis, drug resistance screening, HIV screening, correct drug selection and long term
compliance. (1) The current first line treatment for drug sensitive TB includes an intensive phase of 2 months and a continuation phase of 4 to 7
months. The drugs used in the initiation phase include rifampicin (RIF), isoniazid (INH), pyrazinamide (PYR) and ethambutol (EMB), with RIF and
INH being continued until MTB is eradicated. (1) This four drug treatment regimen for drug sensitive TB disease has been in widespread use for over
20 years, and has achieved cure rates of more than 95% in trial conditions. (5) However, this regimen also has unwanted aspects, which include the
lengthy duration of the treatment, the side effects the drugs and, more concerning, the development of drug resistance, have significantly limited its
use. (12)
Furthermore, management of MDR TB poses a bigger challenge, since resistance to isoniazid and rifampicin precludes the use of two key drugs in the
anti TB regimen. The treatment of MDR TB usually involves a combination of drugs chosen from first line and second line anti TB agents. (13) A lot
of medications used in the treatment of MDR TB are classified as second line because of a high risk of intolerance, reduced potency and a worse side

Jane Goodall s When Animals Talk
Over the course of history, since the beginning of time, animals have been resources for humans as transportation, labor for food production and
harvest, protection from danger, food, skins for clothing and shelter, and companionship. The depth of interactions and relationships between man and
animals are found in many praised works of literature: Black Beauty, Shiloh, Island of the Blue Dolphins, Lassie, and Winnie the Pooh just to name a
few. Major motion pictures have been created from novels celebrating these unique relationships with animals like Costner and Wilson s Dances with
Wolves (1990), and Pfeffer, Markey, and Redford s The Horse Whisperer (1998). In the documentary, Jane Goodall s When Animals Talk Jane Goodall,

Reading with Rover is a community based literacy program that takes place in libraries, schools, and bookstores within the state of Washington. In this
program, children with reading difficulties are given the opportunity to independently read aloud to therapy dogs. Participants and educators filmed on
When Animals Talk (2005) described all sorts of academic and emotional benefits that child readers experienced from reading to the dogs. They
reported an increase in children s confidence, motivation and interest in reading, and improved reading ability. The program s success should not have
come as a surprise to me considering that much of recent research has shown the positive impact of animals as companions on humans physical and
emotional well being. As I investigated further, I found that research specifically makes connections to the positive associations of children s
development and the interactions with animals. These positive associations occur both in life in general and specifically academically. Young children
often exhibit their fascination and captivation with animals in their dreams, wishes, fantasies, drawings, and writings (Jalongo, Astorino, Bomboy,
2004, p. 15). So, what are the effects of children s relationships and interactions with animals? Below are descriptions of several research findings
specific to children s socio emotional development and academic performance. Also included are genuine liabilities and safety issues and concerns

Threats of terrorist activities within the borders of the United States were recently actualized by the mass shooting in San Bernardino, which killed
fourteen innocent civilians. The President of the United States has been attempting to minimize the damage dealt in public opinion. In the aftermath of
the shooting, President Obama has spoken twice regarding the incident, however, he did not label the shooting a terrorist attack until this past Sunday,
during his second speech. There have been many articles written dealing with the content of the Presidents speeches, with each coming from a different
perspective. The article by Gardiner Harris and Michael Shear attempts to analyze the situation as a whole while providing criticisms of the President s

However, President Obama has his hands tied by his promise to remove United States ground troops from the Middle East. The President needs to find
a way to eliminate the Islamic State, but in bringing ground troops into the Middle East it plays to the strengths of the Islamic State. The Islamic State
would only use the occupying of United States soldiers to further increase their hold on the region. President Obama claims that strides are being made
against the Islamic State, but the shooting in Southern California was a clear contradiction to that statement. Juan Zarate, a former counterterrorism
official in the Bush administration, said, If you re making progress, terrorist threats shouldn t be appearing on your shore. Among many former
counterterrorism officials, there is very little confidence in President Obama. Instead of focusing on foreign policy dealing with terrorist attacks,
President Obama has used the San Bernardino attacks as a launching pad to further his agenda on stricter gun control laws. Pushing for increased
background checks would be a proper response if this mass shooting had not had links to international terrorism with a jihadist

Poetry Analysis for Ode to Enchanted Light and Sleeping in the Forest Those who dwell... among the beauties and mysteries of the earth are never
alone or weary of life (Rachel Carson). Rachel Carson s quote reveals to us that nature is beautiful, powerful, mysterious, and extraordinary. This is
expressed in the poems Ode to Enchanted Light and Sleeping in the Forest. The poem Ode to Enchanted Light by Pablo Neruda and the poem Sleeping

Pablo Neruda praises light at the beginning of the poem twice with figurative language. He states Light like a green latticework of branches and
Drifting down like clean white sand. By stating this, Neruda is telling us that light is beautiful and pure. So the theme of this ode is that light should be
praised, is beautiful, and is important. In the same way, Mary Oliver uses figurative language throughout the poem to convey the theme of her poem.
Mary Oliver states I thought the earth remembered me, she took me back so tenderly. Oliver is trying to convey the idea of mother nature taking her
kindly and gently. Another piece of figurative language in Sleeping in the Forest that reveals the poem s theme is By morning I had vanished at least at
least a dozen times into something better. This hyperbold reveals to us that Oliver s mind went to a better place while she was in nature, meaning that
nature is relieving a stress free. Therefore, the theme of Sleeping in the Forest is that nature is a better place to be in and nature is peaceful. The themes
of Ode to Enchanted Light and Sleeping in the Forest are both about the beauties of nature, however, one is about sleeping and darkness while the other
one is about light. These themes tell reader that the poets have a positive and loving perspective towards nature.

Lender Of Last Resort Essay
The Lender of Last Resort
1. What is the Lender of Last Resort (LOLR)?
The term Lender of Last Resort stems from the French phrase dernier ressort . The first recorded use of the term Lender of Last Resort originates from
a document called Observations on the Establishment of the Bank of England written in 1797 by Sir Francis Baring in which he refers to the Bank of
England the function of dernier ressort .
The Lender of Last Resort is ordinarily a country s central bank. It offers loans to financial institutions (including commercial banks) that encounter

preventing possible bank runs from happening also avoiding bankruptcy spreading from one bank to another due to liquidity issues.
Possible scenarios in which the Lender of Last Resort is needed in order to help or save commercial institutions include financial crises, bank runs
(when a substantial number of people withdraw their deposits or demand exchanging their deposits into government bonds or precious metals) or bank
panics (when many bank runs occur in a short period of time).
2. Worldwide Lenders of Last Resort
The function of Lender of Last Resort differs from country to country. One of the most used financial institution as the Lender of Last Resort is the
central bank.
In the USA for example, the Lender of Last Resort is represented by the Federal Reserve. The main purpose of the Federal Reserve is to help provide
liquidity to financial institutions that are illiquid, at the point of bankruptcy and to stop illiquid banks to start bank panics.

Amazon intended to benefit from cross selling on the basis that it already has a loyal installed base in place. (Krishnamurthy, 2004) Amazon also
benefited from economies of scope as its basic infrastructure is already in place and highly scalable.
Three building blocks complement this: Amazon s feedback system, recommendation system and its buy/sell system. Its recommendation system
accounts for 35% of Amazon s sales as customers are more inclined to buy a product based on the strength of the reviews of other customers. It also
brought repeated purchasers that account for 66% of sales. (Salehnejad, 2012)
Also, Amazon has emphasized on building several distribution centers around the world to hasten deliveries (Hof and Himelstein, 1999). Coupled with
its software it provides a laser like focus on the buying experience (IT Business Edge, 2012). Such a system and service is what draws customers
towards Amazon and subsequently retains them.
In 1999, Amazon became a merchant platform by introducing zShop, a new service that allows anyone to sell merchandise through its website .
(Moore, 1999) It not only creates extra revenue from the $9.99 monthly subscription fee from sellers but also 60 cents per transaction for payments
made with 1 Click, as well as 4.75 percent of the final sale . (Moore, 1999)
The draw for small to medium business to subscribe to Amazon s zShops would be Amazon s huge customer

Analysis Of Raphael Ravenscroft s The Moonlight Sonata...
It is my belief that every instrument has an anthem, every instrument has an instantly recognizable piece that forms its epitome. Whether it be
Beethoven s Moonlight Sonata for piano, Raphael Ravenscroft s Sax hook in Gerry Rafferty s Baker Street, or G.C Colemans s Amen Break which has
been referred to as Six second drum break that shaped 1500 songs , every instrument has this end goal to strive for, for violin, this piece is Méditation
Religieuse.
Méditation, the dramatic interlude from the opera Thaïs by French composer Jules Massenet, like no other piece so thoroughly shows off the range and
passion that in the right hands a violin can execute. No longer confined to the realm of the Opera; Massonett s Méditation has taken on a life of its own
as a soloist piece. As a consequence, almost all of the great violinists of the modern age have graced it with their own unique spin such as: Jascha
Heifetz, Andre Rieu, and of course Joshua Bell. Joshua Bell was born in Bloomington, Indiana on December 9th,1967. Bell s interest in music was
discovered at the age of four when his parents bought him a violin after finding Joshua making music my stretching rubber bands to different lengths
on dresser drawers. At the age of 12 Bell he became serious about the violin when he attended the Medowmount music camp in Westport, New York.
Joshua was discovered to be a prodigy, and at the age of 14 he made his orchestral debut at age 14 with the Philadelphia Orchestra becoming

Accountability Is The Foundation For Humanitarian Aid
Accountability is the foundation for humanitarian aid because it dictates the level of effectiveness of the response. Also, it allows humanitarian
agencies to manage risk in disastrous situations and affected populations. As defined by HAP, Accountability is the means through which power is used

order to develop better accountability methods, it must have a consolidated approach, which means that the agencies must understand the area they are

having a more consolidated approach, the agencies are able to obtain data about the crisis areas, and with this data they can provide a more realistic

Because the book Futility was written over 14 years prior to the sinking of Titanic, there is a lot of controversy and mystery surrounding it. There are so
many questions left unanswered, or were they? When Robinson wrote the book, how did he come up with the idea of a ship hitting an iceberg and then
sinking? How did he design the Titan to almost be the same as the Titanic? How are then names so similar? When Robinson wrote the book, did he
know of the plans to build the Titanic. These and so many other questions have been asked over and over again. One theory is that Robinson was

The Importance Of Barriers To Voting
There are historical and contemporary barriers to voting, including the time frame people can register to vote, implementation of mandatory
identification regulations, social services agencies fail to carry out responsibility to make voter registration opportunities available, people with
criminal convictions, people who go to the poll often face suppression tactics and intimidation, and use of provisional ballots. There are many obstacles
preventing American from voting which is nothing new. People lack access to get identification. The National Voter Registration Act is a law passed to
make voter registration available. Many people with criminal convictions are not aware of their eligibility to register to vote. The right to vote can be
challenged by people sitting out at the polling locations trying to pursue people to change their vote before voting. Some provisional ballots (used to
record a vote when there are questions about a given voter s eligibility) are rejected during elections. All one of the main barriers is due to the statistical
sample of prospective voters the media telling who is ahead during elections. The trouble with this census taking of public opinion is that it sometimes
discourage people from voting if they thinks that their favorite candidate is 30 percent ahead or 30 percent behind (Schneider, 1996). Low level of

insect OR is comprised of a heteromeric complex of a conventional odor ligand binding receptor and an OR83b. The N terminus for the mammalian
OR is located extracellularly while it is located intracellularly for the insect OR. The C terminus is located in the intracellularly in the mammalian OR,
while it is located extracellularly in the insect OR.
2. First, odorant compounds bind to an odorant receptor (OR) for mammals. A transduction cascade, which involves a G protein and AC3, is activated.
This will produce a second messenger, cyclic AMP. Because cAMP binds to cyclic nucleotide gated (CNG) channel, cations Na+ and Ca2+ will be in
abundance. This will depolarize the cell membrane. At this stage the Ca2+ Ca2+ can activate dependent Cl channel as well. Olfactory sensory neurons
(OSNs) will have high concentrations of Cl intracellularly, in which the channel will support a negatively charged Cl efflux. This will produce more ...

A. In the experiment, with mosquitos with mutated OR co receptor proteins and in the absence of CO2, showed that the mosquitos lost preference for
human odor treated stockings. However, when CO2 was in the test chamber, orco mutants were just as attracted to the human odor treated stockings as
the non mutants were.
B. The results suggest that CO2 could trigger host seeking behavior even with nonfunctioning Orco positive neurons.
4. A pro for the usage of 2,3 butanedione and pyridine is that they could inhibit cpA neuron or activate cpA neuron respectfully. A possible con could be
the rancid butter smell of 2,3 butanedione. A definite con would be the high flammability and overall toxicity, even at low doses of pyridine. The fish
like odor could also be considered a con. The overall stopping of the mosquito bites (2,3 butanedione) and trapping of mosquitos (pyridine) is a

Decision-Making Process Analysis
Decision making is from a variety of elements, skill set, mind set and past experiences to highlight a few. However, as you stated Katherine it basically
and figuratively comes down to accountability and responsibility. As you stated If I made a wrong deception I earned and grew and new better next
time (Carvajal, 2015).
This reminds me of the news that occurred about a week ago, concerning the 22 year old college student who squandered $90,000.00 college fund
setup by her grandparents for her tuition for this year. Then placing the blame on her parents for not teaching her financial responsibility.

While I may not go to such great lengths as outlined by the text, or as highlighted in models and theories, under some circumstances they could be
applied. Personally, I don t expect anything to be handed to me, if I observe a deficiency then I seek ways to correct that need.
Depending on your undergraduate studies there may be no requirement for a managerial decision class, if not no one is required to provide it. Real time
and unfortunately being honest, competencies can be built by proficiency skills or skillset and learning on the job. Decision making skills can also be
broken down into: basic, intermediate, advanced or expert. However, the bottom line is accountability and responsibility for whatever decision you
undertake.
I am quite confident when Abraham Lincoln was deciding on the Emancipation Proclamation he had no formal training on the decision making
process. From what I read John D. Rockefeller was an average student, but parlayed certain skills into an empire. (American Experience,

Persuasive Essay On Kangaroos
Good Afternoon
Australia s most iconic marsupial, the Kangaroo, holds a place on our coat arms, currency, severe sports teams and is our main attraction for tourists,
who believe we ride Kangaroos to school.
However, the overpopulation of the animal has led to a long and exasperating debate of whether Kangaroo s should be culled or harvested .
Culling is commonly referred to the as reducing a population by selective slaughter. It sounds quiet inhumane when you put it that way, however
Kangaroo overpopulation has become a huge issue in recent years.
While Kangaroos are native Australian animals, they are overpopulated and are a threat to the environment. In an editorial, published by The Herald
Sun, it was estimated that there were about ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to the Herald Sun a humane cull is far preferable to a slow death through starvation. It is more inhumane to condemn these animals to a
slow and painful death, than to control the Kangaroo population in a way that is quick and causes minimal pain.
During a Queensland drought, it was reported by the ABC that a council worker, Chad McLachlan would drag out roos every morning from underneath
buildings, machines or other recreation centres, due to starvation. Overpopulation of Kangaroos means that they won t have enough bush land to live
on, therefore many Kangaroos will starve to death in a slow manner. Now that is cruel.
The process of becoming a Kangaroo harvester is a lengthy one. The harvesters must undergo training which is followed by a license. They must
adhere to the strict guidelines laid out in the Federal Government document Code of Practice for the Humane Shooting of Kangaroos , which was
created by the help of the RSPCA.
Although, overpopulation is one of the main reasons to harvest Kangaroos, one of the many benefits of Kangaroo culling include Australia s economy
boost. Kangaroos could form the basis of an extended meat and leather production industry in

Air Taxi Industry Case Study
1. Is the air taxi industry poised for take off? What customer segments are most likely to lead to success?
I undoubtedly agree that the air taxi industry will find success, however, I do think that it may take a couple more years for it to truly reach a point of
full potential. This is largely due to the current difficulties in building and maintaining a fleet of VLJ s. There is such a high demand for the Eclipse
500, the best VLJ currently on the market, which has worked very well to slow growth in this industry space. When the development and
manufacturing of these planes become more streamlined, I think it will be easier for air taxi companies to build their fleet and expand into new regions
within and outside of the United States. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Though company s currently using charters may have the money to do so, all businesses are looking to better their bottom line, and traveling using an
air taxi is a definite way to save both time and money.
2. The airline industry is often considered an unattractive industry, with high variability of performance and problems of overcapacity? Is the air taxi
industry any different?
The air taxi industry is very different from the original airline industry. For Linear air at least, they handle bookings on a per plane, per hour basis. This
scheduling model helps to eliminate the problem that commercial airlines have because there will be no planes flying for little to no reason. By this, I
mean that a lot of commercial flights end up flying with several empty seats or seats sold at a discounted rate. With the high cost of flying a larger
plane, when seats are empty or sold for less it is almost not worth it to have that flight in the first place. For Linear air, charging on a per plane basis
allows them to ensure that no plane is flown without need. Along with this, the air taxi industry works around customer need, and customers have the
ability to book flights with shorter notice. This in turn, however, means that a flight may not always be available but, does help to assist with
overcapacity issues. Specifically, for Herp and Linear Air, they are expanding their air taxi Capacity watchfully, with only 960 revenue hours, per
plane, per

Mary Meeker Biography Essay
Born in the early 1920 s, Mary Meeker s father saw great potential in his creative little girl. He vowed to make sure she got to college, something
which he had been unable to do. He fancied himself a business man, so the family moved from place to place as he looked for the elusive perfect
opportunity. Every new school brought another Intelligence Test and eventually Mary skipped a grade. Mary s sister who was learning disabled was
often mistreated by the Nuns at one of the schools, causing Mary to turn away from her religion. Her mother did not see her talent or creativity and was
often mean and abusive toward her children. As a result of these events, and recognizing that she and her sister were at different ends of a spectrum,
Mary vowed to advocate for the development of diverse intellectual abilities. Educationally, Mary more than fulfilled her father s hopes as she gained a
Bachelor of Science, a Master of Science, a Doctorate in Educational Psychology and continued with post graduate studies.
In a desperate need for teachers, California offered provisional teaching certificates to those with a related degree, and Mary accepted. She was
immediately assigned to students with severe developmental delays. She didn t know how to teach them and there were no resources to draw upon.
Eventually she motivated the children s creativity by dancing and singing for much of the school year. When Mary was re assigned, she got a Special
Education Class and found that it had a

Essay On Bangladesh Genocide
The Bangladesh genocide started with Operation Searchlight, a planned military pacification carried out by the west Pakistan Army against east
Pakistan that began on 25 March, 1971. The goal was to curb the Bengali nationalist movement by taking control of the major cities and then
eliminating all opposition, political or military. The people of Pakistan wanted to systematically deprive the Bihari community culturally, economically
and politically. Pakistan was known as West Pakistan and what is now Bangladesh was known as East Pakistan. West Pakistan wanted to culturally
assimilate Bengalis culturally. During the nine month long Bangladesh war for independence, members of the Pakistani military and supporting

Pakistan could not gather international support, it fought a lone battle with few countries supporting it. The United Nations condemned the human
rights violations made by Pakistan but they failed to restrain the situation politically before the start of the war. Following the declaration of
independence in March 1971, a campaign was launched by the Provisional Government of Bangladesh to gather political support for the independence
of East Pakistan as well as humanitarian support for the Bengali people. India provided major diplomatic and political support to the Bangladesh
movement. Pakistan wanted India to agree to a ceasefire and asked the UN to intervene but by the time their proposal was finished, Pakistan s forces
had surrendered and the war was over. Pakistan was sought for war crimes but the Bangladeshi government was not interested in gathering evidence
because of fear that Pakistan and other Muslim states wouldn t Bangladesh official recognition. This genocide could not have been prevented. West and
East Pakistan were once one country, but they were a divided one. Eventually East Pakistan was going to want independence from the West which
would have resulted in a civil war just like the Bangladesh Liberation war. Relations between Bangladesh and Pakistan improved in the years following
the genocide. To this day, Pakistan refuses to acknowledge

Drag racing is a sport everyone, no matter the age can love. Drag racing can be difficult to understand if you don t know the rules and class that is
racing. There are many different classes of drag racing Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock, Pro Stock Motorcycle, Top Alcohol Dragster, Top Alcohol
Funny Car, Comp, Super Stock, Stock, Super Comp, Super Gas, Super Street, Top Sportsman, Top Dragster, E.T. Brackets, Street Legal, and Pro Mod
these are the official drag racing classes. There are two drivers, one on each side of the drag strip they line up on a ⅛ or ¼ mile track and race to the
end trying to pull ahead of their opponent and get the lowest time.
A popular class of drag racing is Super Stock, Super Stock cars are ordinary cars that are modified with everything they need to push their car to the

Clowns Coulrophobia
Coulrophobia. That is the word for an excessive fear of clowns. While I don t think there are a lot of people who suffer from clown phobia, there are
many people who just don t like them. Clowns have been around for ages and appear in most cultures in varying forms. From court jesters and mimes
to rodeo and circus clowns their primary purpose was to make people laugh. To provide comic relief. Somewhere along the line clowns became dark.
Facebook even has an I Hate Clowns page with some 400,000 followers! Is it because clowns always possessed a certain sadness. Were they always
just mirroring humanity with all our imperfections or was it something else? I m not sure, but clown phobia did not seem so prevalent prior to the IT
movie in 1990. IT was based on Stephen King s 1986 novel of the same title and both the book and movie instilled a fear into what seems like an entire
generation of kids. In the novel, Stephen King s IT was about a demon who feeds on fear. IT was banished to earth and wakes every 27 to 30 years to
terrorize kids and feast upon their flesh, which tastes better to him when they are afraid. He can take any form but uses the clown because children are
more easily frightened than adults. In the novel the clown is evil, alien, and other worldly. Something timeless and ageless, something eternal that can
be stopped for a while but not destroyed. The portrayal of Pennywise in the original movie did not follow the book as well as the 2017

Oppression By Langston Hughes
In the poem Oppression , written by Langston Hughes, the author leads us to believe that in many countries there is the oppression of minorities, the
fear of punishment for free thinking and yet the hope of freedom. Throughout the world people in many countries suffer from subjugation. Now dreams
are not available to the dreamers... (Hughes) refers to the suppression of free thinking and aspirations in those lands. Not only does the author make this
point about injustice, he uses the metaphor In some lands dark night (Hughes) to then later reinforce the idea of suppression and oppression. Much of
the population would love to free themselves from such subjugation, but many are frightened of the consequences. Countries like the Soviet

Film Noir In Alfred Hitchcock s Film Vertigo
Here I was born, and there I died. It was only a moment for you; you took no notice, says Madeleine, played by Kim Novak, as she foreshadows the
mysterious events which take place in Vertigo. Directed by Alfred Hitchcock, Vertigo qualifies as a film noir because it contains a femme fatale, a
pessimistic romance, and is filmed by an immigrant director. Many film noirs contain a femme fatale, and Vertigo is no different. Madeleine and Judy,
both played by Kim Novak, are definitely femme fatales. A femme fatale is a mysterious, two faced, deceitful, manipulative, and overall beautiful
woman. Both characters portray that definition perfectly. For example, they are literally two faced, being that Madeleine and Judy are played by the
same actress. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Alfred Hitchcock, the great master of suspense, came from England. He travelled to the United States with his family to create better and greater films
that could be even more successful than they were in England. Hitchcock loved a suspenseful and dark film, which caused him to create some of the
greatest films of all time such as Psycho, The Birds, and North By Northwest. His film Vertigo displays all of these aspects, causing the film to be a
perfect example of the Hitchcockian style. This style came from when Hitchcock was a child in England, where his parents would punish him harshly
whenever he was behaving badly. Not only that, but at his British Catholic school, he would be harshly punished, but he set the time for when he felt he
should get his punishment that week. The way he was raised in another country was completely unique and new to American film, causing his film noir
Vertigo to contain many of the features he is known for today. Being an immigrant, Alfred Hitchcock brought new unique factors to the American film
noir. Overall, just by coming from another country and adding his foreign touch, Hitchcock s film, Vertigo qualifies as a film

The Hubble Telescope and Its Discoveries Essay Hubble Space Telescope and Significant Discoveries Funding was approved in 1977 for a Large Space Telescope in 1977 and in 1983 it was renamed Hubble Space Telescope in honor of astronomer Edwin P. Hubble who discovered evidence of an expanding universe and the existence of other galaxies. Work was completed in 1985 and it was launched and deployed from the Space Shuttle Discovery in April of 1990, 350 miles above earth. Since its deployment, there have been five services, each service to perform corrective and preventive maintenance, add upgrades to the equipment, or both. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Based on observations of galaxies, galaxy clusters and cosmic microwave background, scientists determined that most of the universe s mass is composed of dark matter. The constant says that the farther a galaxy is the faster the acceleration, therefore the universe is expanding. The ability of the Hubble Telescope to resolve Cepheid variable stars farther out than could previously be done by ground based telescope allowed scientists to see further out and therefore longer periods of time than they ever could before. This ability to look further back in the past has allowed scientists to better define the expansion rate of the universe. When Hubble was first launched, the expansion rate was estimated between 50 100 km/sec/Mpc. In 1994 it was determined to be 80 km/sec/Mpc with a 10 percent rate of error. In 2009, scientists, using observations of Cepheids in faraway galaxies, were able to narrow ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The WHO has detailed guidelines for the treatment of TB, which specifies that successful TB treatment requires accurate early diagnosis, drug resistance screening, HIV screening, correct drug selection and long term compliance. (1) The current first line treatment for drug sensitive TB includes an intensive phase of 2 months and a continuation phase of 4 to 7 months. The drugs used in the initiation phase include rifampicin (RIF), isoniazid (INH), pyrazinamide (PYR) and ethambutol (EMB), with RIF and INH being continued until MTB is eradicated. (1) This four drug treatment regimen for drug sensitive TB disease has been in widespread use for over 20 years, and has achieved cure rates of more than 95% in trial conditions. (5) However, this regimen also has unwanted aspects, which include the lengthy duration of the treatment, the side effects the drugs and, more concerning, the development of drug resistance, have significantly limited its use. (12) Furthermore, management of MDR TB poses a bigger challenge, since resistance to isoniazid and rifampicin precludes the use of two key drugs in the anti TB regimen. The treatment of MDR TB usually involves a combination of drugs chosen from first line and second line anti TB agents. (13) A lot of medications used in the treatment of MDR TB are classified as second line because of a high risk of intolerance, reduced potency and a worse side effect ... In the same way, Mary Oliver uses figurative language throughout the poem to convey the theme of her poem. Mary Oliver states I thought the earth remembered me, she took me back so tenderly. Oliver is trying to convey the idea of mother nature taking her kindly and gently. Another piece of figurative language in Sleeping in the Forest that reveals the poem s theme is By morning I had vanished at least at least a dozen times into something better. Therefore, the theme of Sleeping in the Forest is that nature is a better place to be in and nature is peaceful. A transduction cascade, which involves a G protein and AC3, is activated. This will produce a second messenger, cyclic AMP. Because cAMP binds to cyclic nucleotide gated (CNG) channel, cations Na+ and Ca2+ will be in abundance. This will depolarize the cell membrane. At this stage the Ca2+ Ca2+ can activate dependent Cl channel as well. Olfactory sensory neurons (OSNs) will have high concentrations of Cl intracellularly, in which the channel will support a negatively charged Cl efflux. This will produce more ... In the experiment, with mosquitos with mutated OR co receptor proteins and in the absence of CO2, showed that the mosquitos lost preference for human odor treated stockings. However, when CO2 was in the test chamber, orco mutants were just as attracted to the human odor treated stockings as the non mutants were. B. The results suggest that CO2 could trigger host seeking behavior even with nonfunctioning Orco positive neurons. 4. A pro for the usage of 2,3 butanedione and pyridine is that they could inhibit cpA neuron or activate cpA neuron respectfully. A possible con could be the rancid butter smell of 2,3 butanedione. A definite con would be the high flammability and overall toxicity, even at low doses of pyridine. The fish like odor could also be considered a con. The overall stopping of the mosquito bites (2,3 butanedione) and trapping of mosquitos (pyridine) is a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, as you stated Katherine it basically and figuratively comes down to accountability and responsibility. As you stated If I made a wrong deception I earned and grew and new better next time (Carvajal, 2015). This reminds me of the news that occurred about a week ago, concerning the 22 year old college student who squandered $90,000.00 college fund setup by her grandparents for her tuition for this year. Then placing the blame on her parents for not teaching her financial responsibility. Personally, I don t expect anything to be handed to me, if I observe a deficiency then I seek ways to correct that need. Depending on your undergraduate studies there may be no requirement for a managerial decision class, if not no one is required to provide it. Real time and unfortunately being honest, competencies can be built by proficiency skills or skillset and learning on the job. Decision making skills can also be broken down into: basic, intermediate, advanced or expert. However, the bottom line is accountability and responsibility for whatever decision you undertake. I am quite confident when Abraham Lincoln was deciding on the Emancipation Proclamation he had no formal training on the decision making process. From what I read John D. • 24. Persuasive Essay On Kangaroos Good Afternoon Australia s most iconic marsupial, the Kangaroo, holds a place on our coat arms, currency, severe sports teams and is our main attraction for tourists, who believe we ride Kangaroos to school. However, the overpopulation of the animal has led to a long and exasperating debate of whether Kangaroo s should be culled or harvested . Culling is commonly referred to the as reducing a population by selective slaughter. It sounds quiet inhumane when you put it that way, however Kangaroo overpopulation has become a huge issue in recent years. While Kangaroos are native Australian animals, they are overpopulated and are a threat to the environment. In an editorial, published by The Herald Sun, it was estimated that there were about ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to the Herald Sun a humane cull is far preferable to a slow death through starvation. It is more inhumane to condemn these animals to a slow and painful death, than to control the Kangaroo population in a way that is quick and causes minimal pain. During a Queensland drought, it was reported by the ABC that a council worker, Chad McLachlan would drag out roos every morning from underneath buildings, machines or other recreation centres, due to starvation. Overpopulation of Kangaroos means that they won t have enough bush land to live on, therefore many Kangaroos will starve to death in a slow manner. Now that is cruel. The process of becoming a Kangaroo harvester is a lengthy one. The harvesters must undergo training which is followed by a license. They must adhere to the strict guidelines laid out in the Federal Government document Code of Practice for the Humane Shooting of Kangaroos , which was created by the help of the RSPCA. Although, overpopulation is one of the main reasons to harvest Kangaroos, one of the many benefits of Kangaroo culling include Australia s economy boost. Kangaroos could form the basis of an extended meat and leather production industry in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 25. Air Taxi Industry Case Study 1. Is the air taxi industry poised for take off? What customer segments are most likely to lead to success? I undoubtedly agree that the air taxi industry will find success, however, I do think that it may take a couple more years for it to truly reach a point of full potential. This is largely due to the current difficulties in building and maintaining a fleet of VLJ s. There is such a high demand for the Eclipse 500, the best VLJ currently on the market, which has worked very well to slow growth in this industry space. When the development and manufacturing of these planes become more streamlined, I think it will be easier for air taxi companies to build their fleet and expand into new regions within and outside of the United States. ... Though company s currently using charters may have the money to do so, all businesses are looking to better their bottom line, and traveling using an air taxi is a definite way to save both time and money. 2. The airline industry is often considered an unattractive industry, with high variability of performance and problems of overcapacity? Is the air taxi industry any different? The air taxi industry is very different from the original airline industry. For Linear air at least, they handle bookings on a per plane, per hour basis. This scheduling model helps to eliminate the problem that commercial airlines have because there will be no planes flying for little to no reason. By this, I mean that a lot of commercial flights end up flying with several empty seats or seats sold at a discounted rate. With the high cost of flying a larger plane, when seats are empty or sold for less it is almost not worth it to have that flight in the first place. For Linear air, charging on a per plane basis allows them to ensure that no plane is flown without need. Along with this, the air taxi industry works around customer need, and customers have the ability to book flights with shorter notice. This in turn, however, means that a flight may not always be available but, does help to assist with overcapacity issues. Specifically, for Herp and Linear Air, they are expanding their air taxi Capacity watchfully, with only 960 revenue hours, per plane, per ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He vowed to make sure she got to college, something which he had been unable to do. He fancied himself a business man, so the family moved from place to place as he looked for the elusive perfect opportunity. Every new school brought another Intelligence Test and eventually Mary skipped a grade. Mary s sister who was learning disabled was often mistreated by the Nuns at one of the schools, causing Mary to turn away from her religion. Her mother did not see her talent or creativity and was often mean and abusive toward her children. As a result of these events, and recognizing that she and her sister were at different ends of a spectrum, Mary vowed to advocate for the development of diverse intellectual abilities. Educationally, Mary more than fulfilled her father s hopes as she gained a Bachelor of Science, a Master of Science, a Doctorate in Educational Psychology and continued with post graduate studies. In a desperate need for teachers, California offered provisional teaching certificates to those with a related degree, and Mary accepted. She was immediately assigned to students with severe developmental delays. She didn t know how to teach them and there were no resources to draw upon. India provided major diplomatic and political support to the Bangladesh movement. Pakistan wanted India to agree to a ceasefire and asked the UN to intervene but by the time their proposal was finished, Pakistan s forces had surrendered and the war was over. Pakistan was sought for war crimes but the Bangladeshi government was not interested in gathering evidence because of fear that Pakistan and other Muslim states wouldn t Bangladesh official recognition. • 29. Clowns Coulrophobia Coulrophobia. That is the word for an excessive fear of clowns. While I don t think there are a lot of people who suffer from clown phobia, there are many people who just don t like them. Clowns have been around for ages and appear in most cultures in varying forms. From court jesters and mimes to rodeo and circus clowns their primary purpose was to make people laugh. To provide comic relief. Somewhere along the line clowns became dark. Facebook even has an I Hate Clowns page with some 400,000 followers! Is it because clowns always possessed a certain sadness. Were they always just mirroring humanity with all our imperfections or was it something else? I m not sure, but clown phobia did not seem so prevalent prior to the IT movie in 1990. IT was based on Stephen King s 1986 novel of the same title and both the book and movie instilled a fear into what seems like an entire generation of kids. In the novel, Stephen King s IT was about a demon who feeds on fear. IT was banished to earth and wakes every 27 to 30 years to terrorize kids and feast upon their flesh, which tastes better to him when they are afraid. He can take any form but uses the clown because children are more easily frightened than adults. In the novel the clown is evil, alien, and other worldly. Something timeless and ageless, something eternal that can be stopped for a while but not destroyed. The portrayal of Pennywise in the original movie did not follow the book as well as the 2017 ... • 32. Film Noir In Alfred Hitchcock s Film Vertigo Here I was born, and there I died. It was only a moment for you; you took no notice, says Madeleine, played by Kim Novak, as she foreshadows the mysterious events which take place in Vertigo. Directed by Alfred Hitchcock, Vertigo qualifies as a film noir because it contains a femme fatale, a pessimistic romance, and is filmed by an immigrant director. Many film noirs contain a femme fatale, and Vertigo is no different. Madeleine and Judy, both played by Kim Novak, are definitely femme fatales. A femme fatale is a mysterious, two faced, deceitful, manipulative, and overall beautiful woman. Both characters portray that definition perfectly. For example, they are literally two faced, being that Madeleine and Judy are played by the same actress. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Alfred Hitchcock, the great master of suspense, came from England. He travelled to the United States with his family to create better and greater films that could be even more successful than they were in England. Hitchcock loved a suspenseful and dark film, which caused him to create some of the greatest films of all time such as Psycho, The Birds, and North By Northwest. His film Vertigo displays all of these aspects, causing the film to be a perfect example of the Hitchcockian style. This style came from when Hitchcock was a child in England, where his parents would punish him harshly whenever he was behaving badly. Not only that, but at his British Catholic school, he would be harshly punished, but he set the time for when he felt he should get his punishment that week. The way he was raised in another country was completely unique and new to American film, causing his film noir Vertigo to contain many of the features he is known for today.
