Writing an essay on the topic of "Bullying Essay Topics" can be quite challenging. Firstly, the
subject itself is emotionally charged, requiring a delicate balance between empathy and

numerous aspects of bullying to explore, including its prevalence in different settings, its
psychological effects on victims and perpetrators, the role of technology in cyberbullying, and

2. What Is The Effect Of Media On Body Image
The world has become bombarded with media through television, computers,
phones, etc. This rapid widespread use of electronics has brought a negative view
towards the shape and size of the body. Studies show that exposure to such media
plays a negative effect on the body image such body dissatisfaction. In America, the
ideal body types for women are mostly shown are smaller and thinner than average,
even portraying obesity as something negative (Eyal and Te eni Harari, 2013).
Thinness is shown as a characteristic of being socially accepted which makes this
body type desirable throughout America (McCabe, Butler, and Watt, 2007). As for
men, the ideal body type tends to be more muscular and tone, portraying that big is
better. (Barlett, Saucier,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They also used a variety of materials to gain information such as T.V., magazines,
pictures, and questions. In conclusion of this study, appearance satisfaction, self
esteem, and imitation of others decreased dramatically. The study also concluded
that more exposure to media, decreased the appearance satisfaction in girls. For
testing of desire for thinness, girls, as young as 6, were shown young female
silhouette drawings, ranging from skinny to large shapes and asked which body shape
would they like to have. This test was done once a year for two years in order to
see if they would have a higher or lower rating of their body image as they aged.
The experiment showed after a year their desire for thinness had a negative
increase, but their satisfaction for body image was still relatively high. This may
have been because the desire of thinness is not yet associated with their body image
until older. In order to determine whether this is true or not, they needed to have a
larger sample group with a variety of
3. Development of Verb Inflections in Children
Development of verb inflections in children
Introduction.
Two of the ongoing questions in the field are: from what age do children acquire
grammar? And how do they acquire it?
The verb plays a crucial role in grammar and verb inflection has, therefore, become
one of the most popular subjects of study in child language research. Most work,
however, has been done on aspect tense inflection (Weist et al, 2004) and on
correlations between semantic classes of verbs and inflection types (Witteck,
2002) or on word order properties of inflection types. As Daggmer Bitner et al
(2003) remark, there is still very little on early verb inflection emergence and
paradigm construction. The following study endeavored to play a small part in
contributing towards this field. Studies on the acquisition of language in children in
general, and verb inflection in children in particular, indicate that children seem to
have an easier time than adults in language development and that their acquisition
of language is more error free than is that of adults (Mayberry Eichen 1991).
Wexler (1998) also observes that children also acquire verbal placement and verbal
inflection early and without errors even in the earliest observable stage of grammar
acquisition which is around one year to 1 and half years.
There are three key models that explain with emergence of inflection in general.
These are the dual mechanism model, the connectionist model, and the net work
model.
Dual mechanism model
4. Essay on Deep Rivers
Rivers: A Reflection of History
Deep Rivers can be seen as an allegory for historical conflicts in South America.
The novel can be seen as a symbolic narrative of not only the problems that Indians
faced in Peruvian society, but also Jose Argueda s childhood and his struggle to find
his identity. Deep Rivers is beneficial to the reader because it is a first hand account
of the problems that Indians faced in Peru, thus allowing the reader to make a deeper
connection to the novel and understand what was going on at that date and time.
Through the narrator of the novel one begins to truly understand the injustice that
Native Americans faced and understand how the author (Arguedas) viewed this
dilemma. The book intricately works in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

book has to do with the Colonos. Their arrival is like a river. Nothing has been able
to stop them, not even armed guards. They are the deep rivers of the novel,
triumphantly chasing the plague out of the city with bravery and song. Despite the
fact that like a river the colonols may seem passive, Ernesto realizes that, when
motivated, the colonos are capable of great deeds.
The social and political conditions that affect the characters in Arguedas s novel are
rooted in Peru s colonial past. Before the Conquest the native population of Peru
lived in cities or, for the most part, in small farming communities. These
communities were subdivided into ayllus, a word from the Quechua language that
primarily refers to an extended family and the land that they tend to together. Ayllu
land was separated into three parts. All produce from the first part was reserved for
use by the community. (Jacobs) A second part was stored in community warehouses
to be used in case of crop failure or famine within the community itself or in other
communities. A third part was owed to the Inca, and used by the army, the
5. Essay On Transgender Army
On July 26th our 45th president of the United States Donald J. Trump continues to
make his daily appearance in the headlines by tweeting out The United States
government will not accept or allow transgender individuals to serve in any capacity
in the U.S. military . This ban would affect the already estimated 15,000 currently
serving military personnel and any future transgender volunteers. Following this
statement was an uproar of backlash from all corners of the country and to some has
solidified the fact that Trump does not stand with the LGBT community, which he
ran his campaign on. Many feel this announcement is unconstitutional and a
misrepresentation of our country and the progress that has been made. This

Because of this, the numbers of actually serving transgender individuals can actually
be higher. These numbers alone should be a justification for the impact the
transgender community can play in any scenario of combat our armed forces might
indulge in, so why get rid of 15,000 troops? It was decided on June 30, 2016, that
transgender Americans would be allowed to serve in our military and that policy
was put into place. Here we are, a little over a year later and this subject is back in
the headlines, with many currently serving and their future now very much up in
the air. President Trump stated that the reason for the ban was because of the high
cost and economic burden transgender individuals created. In reality the price for
healthcare and pay for these soldiers isn t even a drop in the bucket of our military
s current budget. The cost associated with medical care for gender transition would
only increase military health care expenditures by between $2.4 million and $8.4
million each year an increase of between 0.04 and 0.13 percent in comparison, our
military currently spends $84 million on erectile dysfunction pills. Along with these
statistics, it is estimated that only 0.1 percent of transgender service members even
seek treatments that could delay deployment (Joseph). All of this show s that cost
really wasn t the factor behind President Trump s decision and it has to have been for
another reason. Or maybe he just isn t getting the
6. What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Using
Ratio...
Every company or business using ratio analysis to measures financial performance
within a period of time to shows their profit or loss. There is no doubt that ratio
analysis gives great insights about a company. Using ratio analysis by a company
also has few disadvantages.
First of the disadvantage of using ratio analysis is difference in accounting
methodologies. Certain ratios may be adversely affected by a company s accounting
practices. Different company may be using different accounting method. For instance,
inventory valuation methods may differ and it can be depreciation methods. As a
result, comparing ratios of such companies may not describe a correct picture as what
should express.
The next limitation of applying ratio analysis is the effects of inflation not taken
into considerations. Financial records are made over a period of time. All of these
records might not give a correct picture because of the effects of inflation are not
taken into account while recording. For example, office equipment purchased two
years ago was recorded at historical costs in the statement of financial position. These
rates might have the different value currently due to inflation. The value of office
equipment and depreciation may have different value now as it had recorded.
Ratio analysis might also guide to a narrow focus on some elements of a ... Show

But there also have few advantages of using ratio analysis. First advantage is ratio
analysis can be used to evaluate the performance of a company compare to other
competitors that run within the same industry. Companies that operate under the
same industry generally display similar financial profiles. So, a measured ratio that is
significantly more than or less than the industry average may show a particular strong
or weak performance by the company so that the company can make the improvement
to gain more profit than
7. The Major Causes Of Concussions In Sports
Concussions Many memories are made in sports, but sadly, some of the greatest
players cannot remember them. Concussions are temporary unconsciousness caused
by a blow to the head. The term is also used loosely of the aftereffects such as
confusion or temporary incapacity (dictionary definition). Athletes can usually can
recognize a mild concussionby seeing lights or hearing bells. Before concussions
were discovered it was known as getting your bell rung because they didn t know
what it was. Concussions are one of the most dangerous things that could happen to
the human head. Concussions can cause symptoms to last a long time, and people
could not know they have one. Concussions long result is Chronic traumatic
encephalopathy, also known at CTE. CTE can cause Alzheimer s, Parkinson s
disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as; ALS, anxiety, depression, and
even death. A concussion is a onetime event that can make a huge change to one s life.
Sports are the main cause of concussions, but someone can get a concussion
anytime and anywhere. You don t have to be tackled by a 350 pound lineman to
injure your brain, says Brent Masel, M.D., medical director of the Brain Injury
Association of America. (Beil) Parents are now trying to keep their children from
playing sports until they re eighteen. Some people think that forcing athletes to
stop playing sports will stop concussions. People should learn how to prevent and
how to take care of one, instead of not doing what they love. It is important to
understand what a concussion is and how we can determine the state of the
problem. Keeping children away from what they love to do isn t fair to them, even
though there is a higher risk for their child to suffer from a concussion, because
their brains are not fully developed yet. Kids should be able to live their dreams
and play whatever sport suits them. If they don t get to play as a child, how will
they know if they like the sport or can play it? They wouldn t have any experience
playing the sport, just watching the games on television or going to them. Sports are
not the only way someone can get a concussion. A child could fall off a bed, trip
over something, or get into a wreck and hit their head and
8. Hurricane Matthew
Hurricanes form over warm, tropical oceans and are very powerful storms. These
type of storms are actually the most violent on the Earth. For example, of these
powerful and destructive storms was Hurricane Matthew. Hurricane Matthew
occurred from September 28th through October 9th, 2016, and affected the Caribbean
and Southeast U.S. Hurricanes, being the powerful and violent storms they are, can
cause lots of destruction to cities, states, and/or countries. To begin with, there are
many causes of hurricanes. Hurricanes are created by thunderstorms gathering
together in a spinning circle (Aboff Sotirovski, 2012). Furthermore, hurricanes need
many ingredients in order to form, such as warm, tropical ocean water and wind. For

The final stage in the development of a hurricane is known as the cyclone or the
hurricane step. The cyclone s winds are now more powerful than ever before in its
earlier stages, at 74 mph and above. The hurricane has also grown in the sense of
height and width, now being around 50,000 feet high, and 125 miles across. In
addition to these lengths, the hurricane s eye is in the range of five and 30 miles
wide. When the hurricane reaches land, it will weaken because it does not have the
necessary ingredients to continue to grow and survive (SciJinks, 2016). For instance,
one of these very powerful and destructive storms formed on September 28th, 2016
near the Windward Islands. Hurricane Matthew left a path of destruction from the
Caribbean to the southeast of the United States of America. Matthew was formed
when a tropical wave was pushed off of the coast of Africa. After going through the
first three stages, the storm known as Matthew developed into a tropical storm, in
which it received a name. Eventually, Tropical Storm Matthew reached the eastern
Caribbean, where it became a hurricane, adjusting its name to Hurricane Matthew.
During the days of September 30th and October 1st, Hurricane Matthew reached its
peak as a Category five hurricane, with winds at

Hearing impaired and deaf students can better succeed in life when educated in
mainstream schools than being segregated in special schools because though they
have special needs, they learn to communicate better with hearing individuals and can
still attend special programs where teachers with special training can help them in
their educational journey.
Heather Whitestone, a deaf ballet dancer from Alabama, became the first Miss

Researchers emphasize the necessity of parental support and the support of early
intervention programs such as proposed organized activities and training for families
with hearing impaired infants and toddlers (Johnson 52). A specially designed
preschool and kindergarten curriculum would follow early activities and training to
prepare the children for regular primary school (Johnson 57). Researchers emphasize
the need to educate deaf and hearing impaired students in such a way as to allow
them to participate in mainstream functions as soon as, or as much as, possible. They
clearly state that there should be a research and development component as well as a
component focused on materials and resource development efforts built into the
model (Johnson 54). The model to educate deaf and hearing impaired children does
stress the importance of learning sign language but an even more important emphasis
is placed on mainstreaming the very students they are trying to teach in a different
way. The concern about segregated students, even if they require special education, is
that they are losing out by not participating with other students who do not have
special needs. A recent study was done which analyzed national program record data
to determine to what extent students with various disabilities have been integrated
into public schools and general education classrooms (Sawyer

To be or not to be well educated: A Narrative Response to Alfie Kohn s What does it

Alfie Kohn s essay What does it mean to be well educated? begins on a personal note
using his wife as an example to substantiate his hypothesis. Encountering Alisa at the
very beginning of the essay was indeed a refreshing way to initiate thought into a
subject not often considered. Today not everyone ponders the real relevance behind

Nevertheless, something is imbibed. Education in a good school does seem to show in
the kind of person you become and whether anything is remembered or not the
molding influence is indelible. Secondly good education when put to use is much
handier when compared to a lower grade of education. Kohn s question of
consensus set me rapidly agreeing with him. Levels of education do vary between
countries, states, and even the past and present. What is well educated in one
country may not be up to standard in another (2003, par. 9). Today a person with a
doctorate in India is well respected and highly valued in his/her country but when the
same person wishes to teach in America or Britain he/she must acquire a teaching
certification as most of the time local credentials are not accepted.
The next stage of Kohn s reasoning involved ruling out what might not be
considered as being well educated. Being well educated does not depend on the
number of hours spent in class, how well prepared for a career one is, test scores, or
rote learning (2003, pars. 12 15). Although intelligent students do get good test
scores this does not happen all of the time as there are several smart students who do
not seem to perform well. Also, and in this as in the previous point I completely agree
with Kohn, memorizing everything that is just a click away on the internet does not
necessarily translate into being considered well educated.

Pregnancy stage of the cows or heifers might be another influencing factor since the

Schedule Calving During the Growing Season
Calving time at your farm or ranch has the highest influence on your winter grazing
success. For this reason, you need to keep calving from placing a strain on your
winter grazing by scheduling it during the growing season instead of practicing the
spring calving that traditional cattle ranchers practice when their cattle are not
primarily grass fed. This reduces the nutritional need of the herd during the winter
since there will not be pregnant cows and heifers during this time of year.

12. President Reagan And The President Of The United States
In 1981, a self proclaimed Washington outsider took the oath as President of the
United
States of America. The country anxiously awaited to see if Ronald Reagan could
keep the
promises he made during the campaign trail; some of the promises he made were, to
appoint
the first female Supreme Court Justice and to change the ideology of the court.
Reagan, a
staunch republican hoped to sway the court right for the first time in decades. While,
he was
able to sway the court, complications from a democratic senate and a lame duck
presidency
forced him to place only one true conservative and two moderate judges leaving a
more
moderate than Reagan promised.
When Ronald Reagan took his first oath in January of 1981, there was the potential to

hydraulic bench so that its base is horizontal for accurate height measurements
from the manometer. The rig outflow tube is positioned above the volumetric tank.
The rig inlet is then connected to the bench flow supply followed by closing the

tank is connected. The bench valve is then opened and allowed to flow through the
manometers to eliminate all air from them. After that, the air bleed screw is
tightened and bench valve and test rig flow control valve are partly opened. The air
bleed screw is opened to allow air to enter the top of the manometers. Lastly, the
screw is re tightened when the manometer levels reach a convenient height.

into an unforgettable testimony to women s strength and power. Overlooking women
s role in Biblical life is easy because there is practically nothing written by or about
women. Even though Diamant s story is fictionalized, there is truth in showing that
women did exist, that there was a very important role played by women of that time

In the midst of labor, she anguishes over a secret of womanhood revealed only in
childbirth; a secret that inspired my piece of visual art, Dinah:
Why had no one told me that my body would become a battlefield, a sacrifice, a
test? Why did I not know that birth is the pinnacle where women discover the
courage to become mothers? But of course, there is no way to tell this or to hear it.
Until you are the woman on the bricks, you have no idea how death stands in the
corner, ready to play his part. Until you are the woman on the bricks, you do not
know the power that arises from other women even strangers speaking an unknown
tongue, invoking the names of unfamiliar goddesses. (Diamant 224)
A pregnant woman is thrown into this other realm, where her strength is tested. No
woman can prepare for the battle her body goes through, or for the strength and
power that arises innately from an unknown place within, which cannot be known to

The first theme is that when change happens, we have to adapt. This is shown
throughout the book in so many ways. On pages 139 it says, Lina bent forward until
her head rested against granny s shoulder. Good night granny. This shows that Lina

of the victims of dysgraphia have trouble forming letters, while others can form
letters but not very quickly (Paquette 88). It was once said, As students struggle
with the process, they become preoccupied and can t let their ideas flow onto the
page (89). Although there are many devices to help with the disease, there are very
few ways to overcome dysgraphia. One of the tools one can use to help a child
with dysgraphia is graphic organizers. Another tool someone can use is special
education services in the school. Most schools offer very good special education
services which can help children with many challenges, including dysgraphia (91).
Other tools commonly used may include a spell checker (93), word prediction
software, and text to speech tools (259). Many teachers also suggest keeping a list
of commonly misspelled words and having a note taker. Teachers may also use oral
tests instead of written tests to eliminate stress (93). One can also use the checkbook
programs companies provide (259).
Dysgraphia is caused by an issue between two main brain systems (Paquette 89).
Some of the symptoms of dysgraphia may include cramped fingers, inconsistent
formations and slants to letters, unfinished cursive writing, decreased speed of
writing, and poor organization on the page (Richards 63). There are five different
kinds of dysgraphia. The first is known as motor dysgraphia, and symptoms may

Heritage plays an important role in self identity, and hence the heritage of a country
defines it. As a people we learn and improve through our past experiences and our
history. This is especially relevant in a country like South Africa; having such an
eventful and colourful past, it is essential we recognise all places, buildings, roads
and dates that played a role in shaping our country today.
Whereas the history of a given article is the cold, hard happenings of the past,
heritage is what one identifies with in their history, and this can be tangible hereditary
heritage (skin colour) or cultural heritage and ... Show more content on

After the fall of Apartheid, the indigenous peoples felt the need to have their heritage
acknowledged by renaming cities and streets in the vernacular or based on more
deserving people.
The issue becomes contentious as to where the line is drawn. While there are
numerous cases of obvious villains of history (i.e. Hendrik Verwoerd) whose
memory should not be celebrated, there are many more cases of differing peoples
vying for recognition and pride, and it is difficult to insure that renaming remains an
act to promote national heritage and not to laud one group over the other.
It is for this reason that I believe the only way to approach the issue of renaming is
to be practical. While the obvious villains of history and enemies of human rights
must be removed, it is a cold hard fact that naming of Cape Town streets and places
are largely European, and to try to rename everything to equally distribute pride and
self identity amongst all the peoples of South Africa is simply impractical.
In our capitalist country, one must think of the use of money with priority. There are
lots of alarming and immediate issues in South Africa (poverty, education, healthcare,
etc) that require funding more pressingly than renaming does, and that in itself is the
practical outlook of the issue.

24. Song of Roland Essay
Roland is not depicted as a hero in every way. In what particular way does his
heroism cause him to fail himself and others, and what does that tell us about the
culture out of which the poem emerges? The Song of Roland is a heroic epic that
depicts the tragic defeat of Roland, the courageous leader of Charlemagne s army.
Within the epic Rolandis not depicted as a heroin every way. I believe that Roland s
pride eventually becomes the root cause of his failure to himself and to others. It is
this pride that Roland carries that sheds light upon the culture out of which the poem
emerges. In this culture during the late 700 s, pride in one s religion is expected and
upheld to great extents such as sacrifice. The Song of Rolandwas... Show more

I believe that Roland knew that his stepfather would not go to King Marsilion and
used that to his advantage to prove himself to Charlemagne. Proving his pride for
himself.
Additional proof of Roland s pride that causes him to fail himself and the other
Crusaders is his hard headedness to call for help when being attacked by Saracens.
In the Song of Roland, Roland s biggest enemy is his stepfather Ganelon. Out of
spite, Ganelon organizes forces led by the Saracens to detour Roland and separate
him from the Christian forces. Being the proud person he is, Roland refuses to
sound the battle horn to call for help. His pride leads to a massacre of Charlemagne s
army.
Throughout The Song of Roland pride seems to be a major theme. Roland is not the
only one with extreme pride for what he believes in. Without pride for religion, I
believe, that there would not be a crusade, let alone the story of Roland.
With this poem taking place in the latter part of the 700 s, religion and pride in one s
religion was taken very
25. Christmas Essay example
A few days before Christmas, Oxford street is swarming with last minute shoppers,
laden with parcels and bags. Christmas is the highlight for many people, especially
little childen, from as tall as your ankle to as tall as your knee. Small todlers were
moaning and disappearing into the clothes racks like magicians disappearing in a puff
of smoke entertaining the gullible audiences.
Families and friends gradually emerge from clogged buses and congested trains,
tired, exhausted and hungry even at this very early stage, as if they had spent the
whole night awake, like a distressed parent waiting for their child to arrive home
from a party but has still not arrived, two hours past their curfew. ... Show more

The street is coated with a thick layer of snow, knee length, which was as soft, and
as smooth as a fresh scoop of vanilla ice cream. The snow was as white as the
marzipan on a wedding cake, smooth as glass, flat as a pancake and beautiful as the
wings of a butterfly opening for its first time.
Along the street, above the distressed shoppers, was a sea of decorations, of all
colours, simultaneously changing, on and off, to the rhythm of my feet, whilst
ambling through the streets of Oxford. The Christmas lights were shaped in all kinds
of shape you could possibly imagine and they were so bright that the twinkle in the
lights glistened on the icing floor as though it was a star. It also shimmered on the
shoes, which men were wearing.
The combination of the snow and the Christmas lights makes me feel as though I was
entering another world full of amusement, ecstasy and anticipation as Christmas
draws in.
The atmosphere is pleasant, though everybody seems to be distressed and having
problems on their minds, as though they were carrying the weight of the whole,
entire world on the shoulders. The shops are warm and snug after coming in from the
cold outside. The feeling of a holiday coming up puts individuals in a ebullient,

Chapter 2: Literature Review {Insert Intro Text about Literature Review} 2.1
Online Learning Ever since the computer evolution the way people learn has
changed. Back in the day the major idea of learning was limited to a physical
classroom environment, but since the advent of computers and the Internet that
idea has since changed. Now it is possible to learn anywhere at anytime as long as
one has a computing device and Internet access. There is usually confusion
between Online Learning and E learning, as people tend to use the two
interchangeably in some cases. E learning otherwise known as Electronic
Learning, is a term used to characterize a learning endeavor carried out on an
electronic device. E learning does not necessarily mean that the learning material is
accessible online, it can also come in different forms like an educational CD ROM
commonly found at the back of some textbooks or material than can only be
accessed on a campus intranet. Online learning on the other hand is an educational
endeavor that can only be primarily accessed while on the Internet. Pop (2016)
defined E Learning as the appropriate use of ICT to enhance the learning and can
thus take place on campus or in any other context , while defining Online Learning as
A term describing learning that takes place online and thus requires connection to the

Stones
The Beatles and the Rolling Stones first number one hit songs in the United States, I
Want To Hold Your Hand and (I Can t Get No) Satisfaction were major players in
the British Invasion, a musical revolution which saw a massive spike in the
popularity of British artists and culture in America. Both songs hold some similarities,
most notably in the composition of the instruments, along with some conventions
seen in the genre. Yet, strong differences can be found in the vocals, lyrics and
general tone of the songs, showing the separation between two rising subcultures in
England. Although very similar in composition, the two bands display the growing
rift between the mods and the rockers those who preferred the clean cut look and
music inspired by the blues, and those who preferred the rebellious nature of a harder
rock and roll.
Both songs display a very similar make up as far as the band and instruments of
choice. The core consists of two guitars, one for lead, and the other for helping
maintain rhythm, a bass guitar and drums along with vocals. The difference here is
seen in the instruments used to follow the beat. The Beatles utilized hand clapping in
the background, standing out distinctly from the drums during a verse, and
dissipating as the chorus starts. A good example of this can be heard at 0:07, running
until 0:21 as the chorus leads in. The Rolling Stones takes a different approach, using
a tambourine and keeping it on a consistent beat throughout the entire
28. Gossip Girl And Jane Austen s Pride And Prejudice
Jane Austen s Pride and Prejudice tells the story of the agonizing romance between
Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy. In eighteenth century class conscious
England, wealthy families married for money and a stable reputation. Many critics
argue that people no longer marry for money but instead for love. However, sugar
mommies, daddies, and babies are more prevalent in the twenty first century than is
publicly shown. Cecily von Ziegesar s Gossip Girl, originally chick literature turned
major drama television series, portrays the romantic struggles of Manhattan s East
Side upper class. Despite being set in the twenty first century, Gossip Girlis arguably
a more dramatic, high quality adaptation of Jane Austen s Pride and Prejudice. Gossip
Girl, an American television drama, had six seasons, all told by the narrator
Gossip Girl. Gossip Girl runs a highly popular blog that gives the Upper East Side
adolescents little to no privacy. Serena van der Woodsen, one of the main
characters, had just returned to Manhattan for high school classes at the Constance
Billard School for Girls and St. Jude s School for Boys. Serena s best friend Blair
Waldorf is queen bee of the Constance Billard School for Girls, and throughout the
seasons, Blair, Serena, and younger classmates fight for the queen bee status.
Additionally, Gossip Girl features the poorer, aspiring writer Dan Humphrey, the

Consumer nowadays are quite concern on the quality of the products purchased.
They are more willing to pay for a premium in order to obtain a superior quality of
a product rather than spend less money to get a low quality of product. Thus,
quality has become an important factor in determining what car or vehicle to
purchase among consumers. Previous research has suggested that consumers are
keeping their cars for longer, so it is even more vital that their car be well built and
relatively inexpensive to maintain. Definitely, imported car is better as compared
to local car especially in term of quality. This is because imported cars were more
reliable and cheaper to maintain than domestic car. This helps consumers to save
their considerable money at import car services such as for maintenance and repair
over the life of the car. Even the price of domestic car is cheaper than imported car,
but it require consumers to spend a lot for maintenance and repair in the future. As a
smart consumer, it is essential to consider not only the initial cost, but also the
overall cost of ownership for the life of the vehicle.
Moreover, there are three types of importers. First, many importers nowadays look for
any product around the world will then import and sell to their customers. As
mentioned above, imported Nissan car is highly attractive to consumers but are not

BRAVE NEW WORLD Introduction
This novel was written by Aldous Huxley in 1932.
It is a fable about a world state in the 7th century A.F. (after Ford), where social
stability is based on a scientific caste system. Human beings, graded from highest
intellectuals to lowest manual workers, hatched from incubators and brought up in
communal nurseries, learn by methodical conditioning to accept they social destiny.
The action of the story develops round Bernard Marx, and an unorthodox and
therefore unhappy alpha plus ( something had presumably gone wrong with his
antenatal treatment), who vivits a new Mexican Reservetion and brings a savage
back to London. The savage is at first fascinated by the New World, but finally

35. The Negative Effects Of Alien And Invasive Species
Introduction
Alien and invasive plants (AIPs), classified as biological invaders, negatively affect
water sources as (Ghahramanzadeh, 2013). The NEMBA Alien and Invasive Species
Regulations (Notice number 864 of 29 July 2016 in Government Gazette 40166) aim
to: Prevent the unauthorised introduction and spread of alien and invasive species to
ecosystems and habitats where they do not naturally occur, Manage and control alien
and invasive species, to prevent or minimise harm to the environment and
biodiversity; and Eradicate alien and invasive species from ecosystems and habitats
where they may harm such ecosystems or habitats.
The NEMBA Alien and Invasive Species Regulations further categorise the various
invasive species, as listed in the National List of Invasive Species, as falling within
Category 1a, 1b, 2 and 3.
AIPs in South Africa cover a vast area of the land surface and is continuing to spread
at a rapid pace (Blanchard Blignaut, 2011). Woody AIPs negatively and certain areas
detrimentally affect biodiversity especially faunal and floral Species of
Conservational Concern (SCC), water sources, land use and productivity (Mugido et
al., 2014). Some of the woody species include but not limit to Acacia mearnsii (Black
Wattle), Acacia saligna, Eucalyptus sp. These species have a total evaporation (TE)
of 895 mm in the Western Cape. The native and indigenous vegetation, in contrast,
have an TE of 520 mm (fynbos) and TE of 575 mm (thickets), this indicates that
AIPs use more water than native vegetation to the area does (Meijninger Jarmain,
2014). Van Wilgen, Cowling and Burgers (1996) estimated a 30% loss of water
supply to the City of Cape because of the increased AIPs proliferation and the
increase usage of water by these AIPs. Controlling of AIPs within the catchment area
of the water supply could have lessened the water shortage that the City of Cape
Town is experiencing currently. The invasion of AIPs is a severe threat to the
sustainability of agricultural activities, which are water intensive. This is not limited
to the agricultural sector, but also includes other industries using water as one of their
key inputs. AIPs proliferation has both economic and environmental implications

37. Censorship In Society
Societies contain large varieties of beliefs, ideas, and concepts. These attributes make
up a society and can spread or modify notions and thoughts. Censorship in a society
diminishes equity and the spread of new ideas. Censorship is more harmful to a
society because it invalidates human rights, obstructs education, and hinders the truth.
Human rightssuch as freedom of speechor freedom to attain information is hindered
by censorship. Being able to have an access to information is a human right, not to
be tampered with, not to be controlled in any way (DiMarco). This presents the
initial thought that everyone is equal. Censorship rejects this sense of equality by
censoring information to certain groups of individuals. In an event where a book is
banned, people may outrage that this, or any other, book would be banned
(DiMarco). This presents a problem... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is harmful because in the process of acquiring knowledge and searching for the
truth, students can learn to discriminate (American Library Association). This is a
negative effect that censorship causes. Censorship pays a toll on student minds that
may lead to negative thoughts such as discrimination. By shielding the truth, students
are forced to make decisions rationally and logically in light of the evidence
(American Library Association). Due to withheld information, students will have
more of a difficult time when making important life decisions. This will alter their
views and perspectives in ways that could impact negatively. In societies, censorship
is more harmful because it invalidates human rights, obstructs education, and hinders
the truth. This ultimately has a negative effect on children s minds and the minds of
the future. Societies are full of ideas that may be seen as intense; However, this can
help mature student minds and lead to proper development that can create more

book about some of the most controversial topics tying it all into economics. How
brilliant is that? Economics is one of those topics that many either love or hate

television has more of a negative effect on children and teenagers with all of the
violence and negativity that is seen on tv today. I believe that this is the case
because cable tv programs and video games such as grand theft auto and others
place a perception on children and young adults that creating crimes is okay and
easy to get out of, which is true for the virtual world but not the same for the real
world. My question to the creators is if research show that crimes are more likely to

39. Homosexuality In Tony Kushner s Angels In America
Homosexuality plays an important thematic role in Angels in America by Tony
Kushner. This is obvious; the play is about homosexuals during the AIDS epidemic
in the 80 s. Not only is gayness their lives, it also figures in as a distorted simulation
of itself. In the postmodern era, identities have become simulations of perceived
actions instead of actual actions. Seen in rhetoric and in the play, homosexuality
becomes associated with powerlessness, sin, and disease. Kushner s characters are
greatly affected by these stereotypes and false realities of their identities. We see
the way simulacra affects the characters of Roy, Joe, and Prior. Importantly, Prior
suffers under a simulation of homosexuality as an openly gay man with AIDS,
while Roy and Joe cannot fully identify as gay because of the implications they have
been taught. Roy and Joe never know an unmediated definition of homosexuality; it
forever has a negative connotation of powerlessness or sin. Prior is able to survive
his disease and break away from the oppression of the simulacra. Tony Kushner writes
these stereotypes into the rhetoric of the play to dismantle the conceptions of
homosexuality. Kushner uses Roy, Joe, and Prior to present the effects of simulated
identities in Angels in America in order to complicate the metanarrative of AIDS...

Due to the growing power and influence of the media, what people think is real is
actually just a representation, but they cannot separate or distinguish the two. This

Justice Stevens believes that is it the right of the government for taking land from
private owners under eminent domain and using that land for public use. Steven
believes that eminent domain is constitutional as long as the public welfare is

New London was an economically insufficient city compared to the averages in
Connecticut. He believed that making the city more attractive was making good use
of the Takings Clause in the U.S. Constitution. He also thinks that the city carefully

Stevens believes that by helping and benefiting the city New London should follow

The authors of these majority and minority opinions are quite different. Steven
believes that making a city more attractive and profitable is worth using eminent
domain while O Connor believes that it makes every home and business be put in
jeopardy for an unnecessary use of overused power. Although both agree that in
some instances eminent domain is appropriate, they disagree on this particular
case of the New London community. Before I began to read this case I made my
own assumptions about eminent domain. Although I believe that it is not alright
for eminent domain to be applied to all cases, I do believe that eminent domain is
necessary in this case. The city was very apparently deteriorating and it is part of
the cities job to make the community appealing again. Like it was stated, the
population has not been as low as 24,000 residents since 1920. That was over 50
years ago. I may not always agree with using eminent domain in all instances but to
make a city more profitable and more appealing to residents seems to me like a good
use of property. Just compensation is something I may have a problem with. From
what I have heard, the government does not always give the
41. Similarities And Differences Between The Chocolate War...
The book The Chocolate War written by Robert Gormier, was made into a movie
directed and scripted by Keith Gordon. Although the movie was based of the book
there are many similarities and differences. Both the movie and the novel are about
good versus evil. Keith Gordon added extra scenes as well as removing some to try
and create an effective movie.
The most obvious and major difference between the book and the movie is the boxing
match. The purpose of the the fight was to raise money to buy Jerry s chocolates as
he refused to sell them. In the book Archie wins the fight, but in the movie Jerry
wins. In the book just before the fight scene Obie and Carter tell Archie to pick two
marbles from the box and they were both white, whereas in the movie Archie picks
a white and black marble and then has to fight Jerry in front of the entire school.
Another difference in the fight scene is the support that each fighter is given. In
the book when Jerry fights Janza, and is injured yet no one in the audience
intervenes. In the movie after Jerry beats Archie, Archie is demoted from being the
leader of The Vigils and Jerry is accepted by the other kids. This is shown when all
the kids chant Jerry, Jerry once he had won the fight. Jerry also received acceptance
and recognition from Brother Leon, this can be seen when Jerry is looking around at
the crowd and sees Brother Leon giving him the thumbs up. Although there are many
differences there are also a few similarities. Although
42. Industrialization In China Began In 1949 When The
Communist
Industrialization in China began in 1949 when the Communist party took power.
Ever since, the rapid economic growth of China has overshadowed the violations of
human rights. China is a very powerful country that has a direct relationship between
its economic growth and human rights abuse. Although others may argue on the
positive aspects of industrialization such as creation of wealth, in this paper I argue
that the industrialization in China has done more harm than good because it has
particularly led to extremely harsh labor conditions within the factory system. The
year 1949 is often called the great historical watershed from old to new China. This is
when the Chinese Communist Party won the two month long civil war against the...

Although, China is a great economical world power today, it is not due to The
Great Leap Forward. The Great Leap Forward was a giant step backward and is
considered the worst famine in human history with an estimated 30 million people
perished between 1959 and 1962 . The overwhelming desire to industrialize
backfired, but became the beginning of human rights abuse caused by harsh labor
conditions. In order to fund industrial programs, the Party would use profits from the
agricultural sector, therefore the first priority was to increase agricultural output.
That in turn, meant full fledged mechanization. To achieve full fledged
mechanization, thousands of male peasants were transferred to industrial work.
They left the farm work for the women and the children. For example, in 1958 the
[Henan] province allocated 1.604 billion yuan to construction projects and Wu
Zhipu, the Chinese Communist Party governor of Henan, crowed that by the end of
August, the province will have built or expanded 378,000 factories and mines of all
kinds, which proved to be true when workers employed in the province s state

King Gilgamesh who rules, while in Babylon it is King Hammurabi; they are the
ones who govern the laws that are included in each text. So the Epic of Gilgamesh
comes from the first state which is Uruk and so happens to be the first piece of
literature around 2800 BCE. It is an extended version of literature, meaning it is a
set of stories, not a poem or anything like that. It was the birth of a hero named
Gilgamesh in Uruk and had many points to it like friendship, civilizations, and life or
death situations between certain people. The story gave meaning to the people of
Mesopotamiaof how their indication of life may be relating to the morals and values
of the people. Gilgamesh did not just rule the city; he was as well an amazing
warrior. He was really brave and demonstrated trust between his companions. Another
character that comes from the reading is Enkidu whom is a wild man who comes
from the gods and has an unusual interaction with Gilgamesh. On the other hand, the

The Background:
The Indian telecom scenario had changed ever since the Union government of India
changed its strategy on the presence of private sector in the Telecom sector. As a
result Vodafoneentered India in the year 2005, by acquiring a stake of 10% in
Bharti Televentures which later became Bharti Airtel Limited. Vodafone had a greater
interest in the Indian market ,which were supported by the Indian government by
increasing the limit of Foreign Direct Investment(FDI) from 49 per cent to 74 per

Inspite of making a foray into the promising telecom market of India, Vodafone had
to still prove its mettle in cellular service quality.
The Brand Vodafone required a different kind of promotion to establish its own brand
recall in the minds of the people which is stronger than that of Hutch and in the long
run the Hutch brand fades out of the people s memory.
The Transition: Hutch to Vodafone
Vodafone s new advertisingcampaign in India carried on with the same popular pug
that has become a brand ambassador for Hutch. Where ever you go, our network

Now, with Hutchison Essar becoming part of the Vodafone Group, the new campaign
had started with Vodafone Essarearmarking Rs. 2.5 billion on the transition from
Hutch to Vodafone. The main message of the brand transition exercise: The new

45. Human Perception Of The World
Introduction Our perception of the world as individuals is unusually thought of
because we are unaware of the physiological and psychological capabilities our
brains possess. Through sound, recognition, and vision, animals have inherited these
traits for generations. One significant factor pertaining to who we are and how we
perceive the world around us are influenced by the genes inherited in our lineage.
One particular trait that is important in our lives is color visionand color blindness,
particularly cone dysfunction syndrome. Cone dysfunction syndrome is a
heterogeneous group of inherited disorders resulting from a mutation of
photopigment genes (Simunovic 1998). This rare form of visual deficiency can
branch from achromatopsia,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The red green opsins are the most susceptible for mutation due to the localization of
each protein, producing color blindness. The localization of the red and green
opsins is near each other and contains ninety eight percent identical in their DNA
sequences (Sanders et al 2012). Mutations in these genes are caused by an error
during crossover in prophase I of female meiosis. It occurs in female meiosis rather
than male meiosis due to the fact that opsin genes are produced by the X linked
chromosome which females possess. This states that mothers are the sole carriers
of color blindness and it is rare for a female to express color blindness. Dalton s
eyes contributed to the understanding of color vision 150 years after his death. His
interests on color blindness have paved the way to understand color deficiency in our
society.
Achromatopsia
In Color Vision and Genetics in a Case of Cone Dysfunction Syndrome, Crognale
and Neitz ask the question: How drastic are genetic variability s influential to our
perception of color vision? To further answer this question, both researchers
analyzed cone dysfunction syndrome and how it varies from normal color vision by
having a patient in the study with an abnormal case of color vision ranging between
achromatopsia to mild green deficiencies. Achromatopsia is the condition in which
people perceive the world only of shades of grey while having normal cones in the
retina (Snowden 2006).
46. Osei Tutu Research Paper
An able military leader, Osei Tutu, won control of the trading city of Kumasi. From
there he conquered neighboring peoples and unified the Asante kingdom. Osei Tutu
had been a hostage in the Denkyera court but had escaped eastward to the powerful
state of Akwamu, where he was exposed to new ideas of political and military
organization. When he returned to Kumasi, some Akwamu accompanied him. One
was a priest, Okomfo Anokye, who is usually given credit for introducing the
legendary Golden Stool, which, according to Asante tradition, was brought down
from heaven by the priest, and, as the repository of the spirit of the nation, became the
symbol of the mystical bond between all Asante. Osei Tutu helped to build up the
Asante kingdom and make it successful.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Asante faced a great challenge in the Denkyera, a powerful neighboring enemy
kingdom. Osei Tutu realized that in order to withstand the Denkyera, the people of
his kingdom needed to be firmly united. To do this, he claimed that his right to rule
came from heaven, and that people in the kingdom were linked by spiritual bonds.
This strategy paid off when the Asante defeated the Denkyera in the late 1600s.
Under Osei Tutu, government officials, chosen by merit rather than by birth,
supervised an efficient bureaucracy. They managed the royal monopolies on gold
mining and the slave trade. A monopoly is the exclusive control of a business or
industry. The Asante traded with Europeans on the coast, exchanging gold and slave
for firearms. They also played rival with Europeans against one another to protect
themselves. In this way they built a wealthy, powerful

Beauty has always been one of society s accomplishments, objectives and
obsessions since the beginning of time. Beauty is fought over, wrote about,
spoken of and thought of constantly. Helen of Troy is one example. Her beauty was
talked of far and wide, even as a young child. This caused her to be a target at a
young age for other kingdoms and realms. Beauty can cause people to do rash
things. It always has and always will. People want what they can not have, and for
some that is beauty. Beauty is manipulative. It can get a person fame, wealth, love,

Jean Baudrillard was a French sociologist and a theorist of postmodernity. His key
ideas in discussing postmodernism are simulation and the hyperreal. According to
Jean Baudrillard, simulacrum is something that replaces reality with its
representation. Reality itself has begun merely to imitate the model, which now
precedes and determines the real world. The hyperreal is more real than real it is
something fake and artificial that comes to be more definitive of the real than
reality itself. In his essay The Precession of Simulacra he defines simulation as

50. Who I Am
Ramana Maharshi is known for his famous quote, Who am I? Not the body,
because it is decaying; not the mind, because the brain will decay with the body;
not the personality, nor the emotions, for these also will vanish with death
(Quotes). This is a similar question almost everyone at some point in their lives
ask. Personally, my identity was a big issue during my teenage years and I had a
lot questions such as Who am I? Who do I belong to? I did not have the answers at
that time. Nevertheless, as life progressed, I was able to come across certain life
events, experiences and people who helped me to discover who I truly am I am a
conqueror and a legitimately strong woman. My parents, siblings and generally the
people around me have continually played a key role in helping me to discover
myself. I know who my parents are, my date of birth, I am an English speaker, I
know most people around me, particularly my family, I know they love me and I
love them too. I have known my names, my weaknesses and strengths, my
emotions and learnt about myself majorly through my family. Everyone around me
has had a huge impact on my life and through interaction with them, I have been
able to know what works best for me and what does not. Through my family, I have
been able to identify my origin, culture and identity by taking interest in their ways
of life. For example, I am a Catholic and I know some of my weaknesses relate to
my family members. Just like Amy Tan, who says, Lately,

landing on the procedure of fecal microbial transplants. I wondered who thinks of

In our back yard, I built a course of ramps that my brothers and I used for mountain
biking. As we dug up rocks, I took them to the curb where I set up a Cool Rock

hectic household. I enjoyed creating balance in disorder, frequently the mediator of
my brothers arguments. Our dogs jumped on every single visitor and failed to

The assistance that the war veterans receive in Canada today is considered one of the
best in the world. With assistance programs that provide support to the veterans in the
form of attentive health care, health insurance, health related travel expenses, assisted
living, career training, rehabilitation, financial benefits, and much more. But, this
wasn t always the case with the Veterans Assistance Commission in Canada. Very
little was done prior to WW1, for the war veterans. Even though much difference was
promised and greater commitments were made by the Canadian government during
and after the First World War, it still was not nearly enough. Pensions were denied to
deserving candidates, assistance was provided to many in a form that was... Show

The following is the recollection of the said programs that the veterans bore witness
to, and the evolution it went through.
Due to the heavy nature of the First World War, the Government of Canada
, in 1915,
established the Military Hospitals Commission. During the course of the war this
commission experienced amazing growth, and by 1918, the commission was
accommodating nearly 11,000 beds across 50 hospitals and sanatoria ranging all the
way from Halifax to Vancouver. This event is what led to the universal health care
enjoyed by all Canadians today. On February 21st, 1918, Sir James Lougheed created
the Department of Soldiers Re establishment, with the primary focus to help the
returning veterans. This department transferred most of the resources from the
Military Hospitals Commission to the army, in order to rehabilitate the minors that
enlisted and the returning disabled. Under this department, the medical professionals
provided voluntary treatment to nearly 100,000 veterans. The department also
provided 40,000 veterans with vocational training in 140 different occupations.
Unfortunately, despite such grand efforts; many, if not most, of the veterans who
took benefit from the vocational training never ended up finding employment, or
were not able to make an adequate living from it because of the Great Depression
that followed the war.
By the year 1919, the Pension Act was passed for the disabled

The articles of confederation were the first agreement and first constitution of the

This was a violent rebellion where several federal officers ended up being killed in
riots to serve arrest warrants on the offenders. In October 1794, the continental army,
led by Washington, put down the rebellion. The incident showed that the new
government under the Constitution could react quickly and effectively to such a
problem, in contrast to the inability of the government under the Articles of
Confederation to deal with Shay s Rebellion. There was also shays rebellion which
was carried out by debtor farmers in western Massachusetts, led by Revolutionary War
Captain Daniel Shays and it was against Boston creditors. it began in 1786 and lasted
half a year, threatening economic interests of the elite and contributing to the demise
of the Articles of Confederation. The articles of confederation Supported the

55. The Critique Of Ode To Solitude, By Alexander Pope
Alexander Pope was a British poet well known for his very meaningful pieces that
try to reach out to the world and change it on of them is the essay on criticism
which was a very impactful piece. We can see this cling out to Ode to solitude on
how he writes about solitude being so great and so wonderful to him.Ode to
solitude really describes the wonders of a relaxing, calm and solitary live where a
man can live in bliss. He instantly goes into a pleasant mood with Happy the man,
probably because he thinks the same way about solitude and wants to express his
feelings about this subject. All throughout the poem, he describes how someone
can life in solitude wanting to spread his opinions about it as well as praising it. He
is able to write about the life of men in solitude in such a wonderful way in makes
the reader feel somewhat appreciation towards it. The first two stanzas show the
reader that the man living in bliss and happiness doesn t own much and was mostly
inherited by family in his birthplace, as well that he can live a humble life with just
enough food and attire but that solitude can really make it wonderful. The first stanza
describes where he lives while the second describes what he owns which altogether
comes to just essentials. We can see how the use of the words like own and his
